When we surrender ourselves to Jesus we become new creations – see 2 Corinthians 5:17 (see https://www.bible.com/). But Jesus told us that we would have trouble in this world (John 16:33) and that means being attacked by evil. However, in 1 Corinthians 10:13 Jesus says that we will not be tempted above what we are able to bear, but with the temptation He will always provide us a way to escape. In many other verses we are told to run away from the things we know are sin (1 Corinthians 6:18; 10:14; 1 Timothy 6:11; 2 Timothy 2:22) and we are to run to Him – Hebrews 6:18.
