There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true. —Soren Kierkegaard. "…truth is true even if nobody believes it, and falsehood is false even if everybody believes it. That is why truth does not yield to opinion, fashion, numbers, office, or sincerity–it is simply true and that is the end of it" – Os Guinness, Time for Truth, pg.39. “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” – Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
Somewhere about this time, that is after Jesus had been preaching for nearly a year in Galilee, He visited Jerusalem again, probably to be present at the annual feast of the passover, as before. But he could not come now as on the previous year, a man unnoted amid the crowd. He was now famous; His name, His works were the wonder of all Palestine. Moreover the priesthood had learned to look on Him with doubt. They had heard that He claimed to forgive sins, a blasphemy. It was certain that He consorted with men of the poorer classes, and that He stirred the people to intense excitement.
Wishing to avoid such tumult as He might, Jesus came quietly to Jerusalem. He appeared, unknown, at the pool of Bethesda. Now this pool was reputed to be miraculous. The verse of the Bible quoted above says positively that it was so, but this verse has been said to be an interpolation in the text. The waters had certainly at intervals a curative effect, strongly felt by whosoever entered them at the moment of their agitation. Hence there was always a crowd of invalids about the pool “waiting for the moving of the water.”
And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in loving kindness, and in mercies. I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness; and thou shalt know the Lord. (Hosea 2:19-20)
Betrothment unto the Lord! What an honor and a joy! My soul, is Jesus indeed thine by His own condescending betrothal? Then, mark it is forever. He will never break His engagement, much less sue out a divorce against a soul joined to Himself in marriage bonds.
Three times the Lord says, “I will betroth thee.” What words He heaps together to set forth the betrothal! Righteousness comes in to make the covenant legal; none can forbid these lawful bans. Judgment sanctions the alliance with its decree: none can see folly or error in the match. Lovingkindness warrants that this is a love union, for without love betrothal is bondage and not blessedness. Meanwhile, mercy smiles and even sings; yea, she multiplies herself into “mercies” because of the abounding grace of this holy union.
Faithfulness is the registrar and records the marriage, and the Holy Spirit says “Amen” to it as He promises to teach the betrothal heart all the sacred knowledge needful for its high destiny, What a promise!
“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” 2 Corinthians 13:14 (NIV)
Read this as a prayer today –
In faith, I know this to be true:
• Jesus, you are full of truth and grace, and you fill me with your truth and grace (John 1:14).
• You are working within me to clear a channel so that your love flows through me into the lives of everyone I meet. When I find it difficult to love someone, I can be confident that you will love that person through me (Galatians 2:20-21).
• I may not be where you need to be yet, but I am “confident of this, that he who began a good work in [me] will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6 NIV).
• And I know “God is able to make all grace abound [in me], so that in all things at all times, having all that [I] need, [I] will abound in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV).
• Thank you, Jesus – You have filled me with your grace and truth, brought me deep and permanently into the love of God, and given me the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. I am, at all times, filled with grace, mercy, and peace (2 Corinthians 13:14 NIV).
“Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you” Deuteronomy 3:22
We were driving our son’s quad on the trail through the forest in Northern Alberta. Wild roses, blue bells, wild strawberries and other plants blanketed the soil under the tall, slender Aspens. It was very peaceful and we were truly enjoying the ride.
And then, just ahead of us, we saw a mother grouse and her baby chicks scurrying across our trail. The chicks were scurrying as fast as their toothpick thin legs would carry them; however, the mother stood her ground, her tail feathers fanned out, her neck feathers ruffled. She was positioned to protect her family! We stopped the quad and watched.
The chicks had scattered on both sides of the trail and the mother began clucking rapidly, calling her chicks. Soon the chicks ran toward her and the whole family ran to hide in the underbrush.
A brave mother taking on a large four – wheeler; she was willing to give up her life for her little family. Mothers are like that.
But as I watched her, I thought of our Good Shepherd giving His life for His flock and of leaving the 99 sheep to look for the lost one. I thought about our Lord’s promise:
“My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand” (John 10:29).
Comforting, isn’t it?
I am so thankful to You Lord Jesus, for protecting us, Your little flock, Your children. Only when we get to heaven will we realize how often You saved us from harm. Thank You again. Amen
Being promised anything she asked, Salome paused. She was shrewd and, like her mother Herodias, full of craft. Therefore she went to that mother to consult as to what she might best demand. Herodias answered swiftly and eagerly, “The head of John the Baptist.” Perhaps Salome had herself cause for resentment against John, or perhaps it was in wanton wickedness that she enlarged upon her mother’s words and demanded of the king not only that John should be beheaded, but that the severed head should be brought before her and her mother on a dish.
Herod would have refused the hideous request. He sought to save John. But Salome insisted; and, as the king was weak and foolish as well as wicked, she had at length her way. The king’s executioners were sent to the cell of John and slew him; and presently, apparently at the same banquet, Salome received the head. She herself bore it upon its dish as a welcome tidbit to her savage mother.
Then the disciples of John buried him; and when afterward the news of Jesus’ doings reached Herod, the king declared that this was John come again, risen from the dead to punish him.
The government is encroaching on the Christian freedoms our country once had, favoring various political agendas which run contrary to God’s Word. In this message about Jesus’ view of Caesar, we acknowledge three duties we owe government: taxes, submission, and prayer. When a country opposes the cross of Christ, what should believers do?

China’s Productive Capacity Is Starting To Slip Away To India And Southeast Asia Continued lockdowns in China aren’t helping the country’s ongoing, decade-long, production exodus, a new report from Caixin notes. The accelerating exodus from Asian production powerhouse has been helped along by Covid policy disruptions, rising labor costs and worsening trade tensions between the U.S. and China, the report notes. Southeast Asia and India are looking to take China’s place thanks to low labor costs and rising domestic demand.

Farewell to the last World War II Medal of Honor “caretaker.”
Mark Alexander
On February 23, 1945, a 21-year-old Marine corporal, Hershel Woodrow “Woody” Williams, watched from the bloody beaches of Iwo Jima as our flag was raised atop Mount Suribachi, immortalized by the sculpture at the Marine Corps Memorial.
For his heroic actions on that same day, Williams became one of 27 Iwo Jima Marines and sailors to receive the Medal of Honor — our nation’s highest military award for valor — “For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty…” It was the bloodiest battle in Marine Corps history in which 7,000 Americans perished.
Williams, who was a very humble man and welcomed anyone to address him as “Woody,” was one of 472 World War II recipients of the Medal of Honor. He was the last living WWII recipient until his death this week at age 98 in his beloved home state of West Virginia.
Woody was the youngest of seven children born into a hard-working farming family, and, at just 3.5 pounds at birth in 1923, he was not expected to survive. Thank God he did. He wanted to enlist in the Marine Corps after the “Japs” attacked Pearl Harbor, but given that his low birth weight hindered his adult stature, he did not meet the 5’6″ minimum height requirement. But the Corps reduced that restriction in 1943 and Woody was in.
He trained in San Diego as an infantryman on the use of flamethrowers. At the time, this weapon was one of the most effective means of extracting Japanese fighters from their cavern entrenchments on Pacific islands. It was a heavy and cumbersome backpack device with three tanks, two for a mixture of diesel fuel and aviation gas and the third for compressed air. And if an enemy bullet pierced the tanks, it meant certain death for its bearer.
His first combat trials were with Company C, 1st Battalion, 21st Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division at Guadalcanal. He then served at the Battle of Guam in 1944 and in 1945 landed on the grainy volcanic sand of Iwo Jima, where he was charged with clearing enemy pill boxes.
Please take a moment to read his full Medal of Honor citation and ponder the extraordinary actions of this man. Like all recipients, he was an ordinary individual who demonstrated extraordinary acts of valor when confronted with circumstances that called him to put the lives of others above his own.
After the war, Woody remained with the Marine Corps Reserve’s 25th Infantry Company, and his final rank was Chief Warrant Officer 4. He spent 33 years as a counselor with Veterans Affairs. He was a devoted Christian and served as the chaplain for the Congressional Medal of Honor Society for 35 years. He also headed the Woody Williams Foundation, supporting the establishment of permanent Gold Star Families Memorial Monuments in communities across our nation and providing Living Legacy scholarships to the children of fallen Soldiers, Sailers, Airmen and Marines.
Like all recipients, Woody considered himself only a “caretaker” of the medal, and he wore it in honor of all others who served.
The last time we crossed paths was in April of last year at a memorial service for his friend, Charles Coolidge, the last living WWII European Theater Medal of Honor recipient. They were both proud members of the National Medal of Honor Heritage Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the birthplace of the medal.
The image that remains seared into my memory is that of Woody standing quietly alone in a private moment over the casket of Mr. Coolidge, saying goodbye. Given his stature, I am reminded of another small man who became a giant among recipients, Desmond Doss.
The remaining 63 living Medal of Honor recipients issued a statement, closing with, “Semper Fi and Godspeed, Woody.” Indeed. His wife of 62 years proceeded him in death in 2007. He is survived by his two daughters and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Stephen Breyer officially retires, EPA keeps throttling energy production, Vatican allows Pelosi to take communion, and more.
Thomas Gallatin & Jordan Candler
Top of the Fold
Justice Stephen Breyer retiring from SCOTUS today: As the U.S. Supreme Court ends its current term, it also marks the permanent end of Justice Stephen Breyer’s time on the bench. The left-leaning justice will be stepping down today, a move he announced earlier this year. Breyer, who was nominated by Bill Clinton, joined the Court in 1994, making him the second-longest active serving justice behind Clarence Thomas. The 83-year-old Breyer will be replaced by former DC Circuit Court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, who will be sworn in at noon today.
EPA keeps throttling U.S. energy production: Despite Joe Biden’s repeated claims to the contrary, his administration is doing everything it can to inhibit energy companies from increasing oil and gas extraction capabilities. The latest evidence is the Environmental Protection Agency’s announcement of a new ozone regulatory standard that has direct implications on energy companies’ ability to extract oil from the Permian Basin. Located in Texas and New Mexico, the Permian Basin accounts for 43% of all U.S. oil production, and now the EPA has targeted parts of it for “non-attainment” with newly devised air quality standards. In truth, this is a backdoor approach to banning fracking, something the EPA is not permitted to do. Texas Governor Greg Abbott responded: “The EPA’s process could interfere in the production of oil in Texas which could lead to skyrocketing prices at the pump by reducing production, increase the cost of that production, or do both. Your administration’s announced action is completely discretionary. Thus, you have the power to stop it.” If Biden was really interested in helping Americans by getting the sky-high gas prices down, he could easily eliminate needlessly onerous regulations. Instead, he’s following through on his promise to end fossil fuels. In related news, the Supreme Court just limited EPA authority in regulating emissions.
Vatican allows pro-abortion Pelosi to take communion: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited the Vatican this week and took part in a papal Mass where she was permitted to receive communion. Pelosi has long championed abortion despite the Catholic Church’s clear teaching that abortion is a grave sin. Pelosi responded to the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe by calling it “cruel,” “outrageous,” and “heart-wrenching.” She even claimed it was evidence of Republicans’ raging hypocrisy. The only raging hypocrisy is Pelosi claiming to be a good Catholic while not only justifying but promoting abortion. Maybe the Vatican shares in Pelosi’s hypocrisy, since rather than take an opportunity to hold an unrepentant Catholic to account, the Holy See opted for political optics rather than fidelity to Church doctrine. Pope Francis’s defense of administering communion to pro-abortion politicians is tremendously twisted. He stated that bishops must minister “with compassion and tenderness” and that the Eucharist “is not a prize for the perfect” but rather is “a gift of the presence of Jesus in the Church.” But is not repentance a prerequisite to taking communion? Indeed, it was this very issue of unrepentance that moved San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone to send Pelosi a letter barring her from receiving communion.
U.S. military recruiting sinks thanks to woke nonsense: It appears that the U.S. Army has adopted a new slogan: “Get Woke, Go Broke.” How else does one explain the Army coming up 60% short of its recruitment goals this year? With the Army’s embrace of woke critical race theory, a lot of young qualified Americans are asking, Why would I want to join a military that demonizes the very nation I would be serving? Apparently, many individuals have raised this question and decided not to sign up. Military recruitment efforts have taken a nosedive. In fact, it’s gotten so bad that the Army has eliminated its mandate that potential recruits have at least a high school diploma or a GED certificate. And it’s not just the Army; every branch of the U.S. military has seen recruitment numbers drop. Wokeness preaches hatred of country, not love of country, which is a necessary prerequisite when asking people to be willing to sacrifice their lives.

In the past 12 months, more than one million voters have switched parties from Democrat to Republican.
Lewis Morris
Is there any more awful brand out there than that of the Democrat Party? Voter registration data analyzed by the Associated Press shows that more than one million voters in 43 states have switched their party affiliation to Republican over the last 12 months. This accounts for a stunning two-thirds of all party switchers.
A voter migration of this magnitude should make the opposition nervous. Even worse news for Democrats: These GOP gains are particularly prevalent in the nation’s suburbs, which may help Republicans recover lost ground from the 2018 and 2020 election cycles.
Republicans boosted their share of party changers in 168 of 235 fringe suburban counties in the swing states of Georgia, Iowa, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere. The GOP also saw gains in 62% of medium metro counties in Democrat-run California and Colorado, and they captured 63% of party switchers in Democrat-run Pennsylvania.
Two drivers are pushing Democrat voters into the Republican camp. One is the Republican voters who left the GOP during the Trump era but have returned. Another is Democrat voters who are fed up with how far to the left their party has drifted. As one such voter told the AP, “The party itself is no longer Democrat, it’s progressive socialism.”
We should note that some Democrats have switched parties simply to create mischief — to vote in Republican primaries. An ostensible example of this was the primary defeat of first-term Republican Congressman Madison Cawthorn in North Carolina’s 11th District. The Washington Post reported a spike in Democrats switching their status to “unaffiliated,” allowing them to vote in the Republican primary and thereby contributing to Cawthorn’s 1,384-vote defeat by “establishment” Republican Chuck Edwards.
Democrat Party leaders, and apparently The Washington Post, are encouraging Democrat voters to switch their affiliation in states with semi-closed systems in which only registered party members can vote in their primaries. The hope is to get enough outside voters to sway key Republican primaries in the Democrats’ favor by supporting fringy GOP candidates seen as weaker general-election opponents in November.
It’s hard to know if this sort of desperate tactic will work on a wide scale, but it’s doubtful that it has had any substantial impact on the spike in switches to the Republican Party.
Will the Supreme Court’s recent Dobbs ruling save Democrats? Like the case itself, there’s no shortage of opinions on the matter. Democrats by and large believe the overturning of Roe v. Wade will motivate their base. They’re certainly playing it that way. Anything to get the public’s mind off of $5-a-gallon gas and baby formula shortages.
Some political strategists say the economy is still the number one concern among voters. That’s unlikely to change unless the economy miraculously improves by November. As Sarah Longwell, a Republican strategist who studies swing voters, notes, “If you think that the overturning of Roe is just going to overturn the dynamics of 2022, I’m not sure that that’s true.”
With the abortion issue now returned to the states, there’s no reason to believe Republicans will be any less motivated to turn out in November than Democrats, who now face an intra-party schism. The far left of the party favors court-packing, filibuster elimination, and any trick it can pull to get its way. Traditional Democrats, though, like the voter quoted earlier, may not support far-left candidates who advocate such efforts. And hard-left voters may not support traditional Democrat candidates unless they do. Republicans, however, seem united and energized about November.
Either way you slice it, the Democrats have problems.
Rampant violence in lawless metropolises is the catalyst, but it’s also just the tip of the iceberg.
Emmy Griffin
The violence in Democrat-run cities is spiraling out of control. Places like Chicago, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Milwaukee, and Baltimore have become crime capitals. This is because street criminals aren’t afraid of the police, the law is a suggestion, and even if they do get arrested, toothless prosecutors will likely uphold the cities’ soft-on-crime stance.
One city in particular has allowed the chaos to spread to the suburbs. In Atlanta, the wealthy northern suburb of Buckhead has had enough.
Atlanta is so riddled with lowlifes that earlier this week hoodlums shot up a Subway because an employee “put too much mayonnaise” on their sandwich. Law-abiding people are having to go armed everywhere they go.
Fox News has been tracking the crime surge in Buckhead and found that “rape is up 80% as of June 18, burglaries are up 26%, and robberies are up 8%.” People are afraid to go fill up their cars with gas. Homes are being invaded.
Buckhead City Committee CEO Bill White has declared the suburb’s intention to secede from the city. The biggest reason being that Atlanta’s current and previous mayors are big advocates of “defund the police.” Cops simply don’t want to work in a city where they aren’t supported.
White explained: “We’re short 180 police officers, so what are we supposed to do? They said this has never been done — taking a part of a city out and making its own city from that — but we’re going to do it, and we’re going to absolutely love our police.” White went on to make a promise to the police, saying: “We’re going to pay them. We’re going to give them a take-home car. We’re going to welcome them. We’re going to honor them every day and make up for this dumbest move of the century, this ‘defund the police,’ and turn that on its heels and put the smackdown on the crime here in Buckhead once and for all and have a happy place to live.”
This beleaguered suburb will hopefully get some reprieve by becoming an independent city. But poor Atlanta. It’s a grim testament to the truism, You get what you vote for.
The Buckhead/Atlanta imbroglio is small potatoes in comparison to the state of Oregon, whose eastern counties earlier this year voted to secede from the drug-riddled antifa thugocracy of the coast and join Idaho. Eastern Oregon has declared that the western coast does not represent its interests. Even this act of representative self-government is a small example of an even larger shift in the politics of America.
Elon Musk famously posted a meme on social media illustrating how the Democrat Party has pushed so far to the left so quickly that it has left voters who may have been considered middle-left in 2008 on the conservative side of the political divide. These voters are switching allegiances. According to the Associated Press, more than one million Democrats are switching parties, especially those in the suburbs. Leftist woke policies are making cities unlivable, and the law-abiding are tired of the lack of justice.
As our Nate Jackson so aptly stated: “The real story here is the serious division between conservatives and leftists. Again, despite Biden’s promise to bring ‘unity,’ Democrats have only sown hatred and division for years now. Given that a significant number of residents in one state have decided divorce is better than living under the same ‘roof,’ how much longer can we expect our country to abide its deep divisions?”
Federalism — the deferment of power to the states — may help alleviate these deep divides. It’s no secret that America is pretty divided these days. Much of that has to do with a simple fact: We fight too many political battles at the federal level. This idea of self-rule — where citizens who are invested in the places they live decide the issues at hand — is inherently American.
Secession may be a harsh term, evoking ghosts of the bloody American Civil War. But in reality, it’s an attempt by the people to assert their democratic rights and solve what the federal government is so ill-equipped to do.
These people can’t seem to do anything right — and they’re unwilling to focus on anything that matters.
Douglas Andrews
If you’re a Democrat, you have to be wondering how this thing ends.
Joe Biden keeps shuffling along and diminishing us on the world stage, Nancy Pelosi keeps force-feeding us junk food and phony testimony from the J6 nostalgia files, and no one within the Democrat Party seems to remember the timeless advice of the Ragin’ Cajun.
“It’s the economy, stupid,” said former Bill Clinton strategist James Carville some three decades ago. And whaddya know? It still is. Were anyone to ask him today, he might also reflect on how this Democrat Party ain’t his daddy’s Democrat Party. Heck, it’s not even Bill Clinton’s Democrat Party. Ever since Barack Obama put his stamp on the party, they’ve thrown in with the wokesters and the grievance-mongers and the coastal elites, and they’ve abandoned the working class to the Republicans.
Thank you very much.
“I remember vividly when, just before I turned 18 years old,” writes Rene Lopez, a Navy veteran, city councilman, and Republican congressional candidate for Arizona’s 4th District, “my father filled out my selective service paperwork and voter registration and, against my protests, registered me as a Democrat.” Lopez continued: “To my father, it did not matter that I considered myself a Republican, because, as he put it, ‘Our family are Democrats.’ My family saw this as an essential plank of our identity. ‘We are Mexican. We are Catholic. We are Democrats.’ My family believed that the Democratic [sic] Party looked out for working families and stood for their values.”
Again, that isn’t today’s Democrat Party, which seems utterly consumed with issues nowhere near the kitchen table: obsessively investigating a president who’s been out of office for 17 months, defunding our cops, defending our criminals, refusing to secure our borders, infusing wokeness into our military, fighting for biological men to compete against our daughters, locking down our businesses, shutting our schools, teaching black and brown kids that they’re oppressed and that their white classmates are the oppressors, and the list goes on.
But now, finally, after decades of unquestioning loyalty, “Working-class families are finally taking notice,” writes Lopez.
He continues: “It is hard to imagine anything more out of touch with the values held by families like my own than Stephen Colbert telling his audience, ‘I’m willing to pay $4 a gallon. Hell, I’ll pay $15 a gallon because I drive a Tesla,’ while working-class families are trying to figure out how to afford groceries and fill their gas tanks.”
Bingo. What a tone-deaf thing to say. As if everyone can afford to trade in that 12-year-old beater for a shiny new $60,000 electric vehicle.
But Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats aren’t merely coughing up congressional districts that are 84% Hispanic; they’re alienating everyone. They simply can’t seem to govern, can’t seem to focus on the things that matter. This coming holiday weekend, for example, we’re expecting to see thousands of flight delays and cancellations as the airline industry and the government blame each other for the impending chaos. What gives? Why is it suddenly so hard to hop on a plane? Even in those crummy Soviet-era satellite countries, the trains tended to run on time.
The deep deniers at The New York Times are hoping you don’t notice who’s steering the ship. Indeed, they just wrote this piece on how inflation is causing changes in folks’ behavior, but not once did they mention Joe Biden’s name or even the word “Democrat.”
The folks aren’t fooled, though. A brand-new AP-NORC poll shows that hardly anyone in the country thinks we’re on the right track.
As the AP reports: “An overwhelming and growing majority of Americans say the U.S. is heading in the wrong direction, including nearly 8 in 10 Democrats, according to a new poll that finds deep pessimism about the economy plaguing President Joe Biden.”
That a majority of us are on edge about the economy and inflation and a doubling of gas prices and rising crime and a porous southern border and a feckless foreign policy shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. But when 78% of Democrats think we’re heading in the wrong direction, that spells big trouble for the party in power.
“Eighty-five percent of U.S. adults say the country is on the wrong track,” the AP article continues, “and 79% describe the economy as poor. … The findings suggest Biden faces fundamental challenges as he tries to motivate voters to cast ballots for Democrats in November’s midterm elections.”
We’ll say. The AP poll gives Biden a 39% job approval number, but even that anemic number seems inflated. It’s held up by a mystifyingly high 72% approval rating from Democrats — who are these people? — but his support drops off a cliff with independents (only 25% approve of the job he’s doing) and Republicans (only 8%). In yesterday’s RealClearPolitics aggregate of polls, Biden dipped under 38% approval for the first time ever. Dude keeps falling off the floor.
Joe Biden and the Democrats have a crisis not of confidence, but of competence. They can’t seem to focus on and effectively execute even the basic functions of government. For Pete’s sake, they can’t even keep baby formula on the shelves.
But, hey, if you don’t care a lick about gas prices and you’re just hankerin’ for a hawt take on how Donald Trump behaved on January 6, 2021, they’ve got you covered.
The state’s Justice Department “mistakenly” posted online a database of information about concealed carry permit holders.

If you’ve seen the Netflix hit show “Stranger Things,” you know that much of the action hinges on an alternate dimension called the Upside Down. Everything in the Upside Down is in ruins and run by evil monsters — it’s backwards, time is stopped there, and it’s generally wrecked compared with our world.
In other words, it’s California.
You see, in California, the criminals go free and the law-abiding citizens have their private information leaked to the public. Thugs in San Francisco can snatch all kinds of things from stores without fear of prosecution or even arrest — to the point that many stores have closed for good. Meanwhile, concealed carry permit holders, who are on average more law-abiding than police, have been outed and endangered. By the state’s attorney general, no less.
Talk about upside down.
“As part of a Democrat-led effort to ‘better understand the role and potential dangers of firearms,’ California inadvertently leaked private information about every concealed-carry permit holder in the state,” reports The Washington Free Beacon. “The California Department of Justice on Monday mistakenly posted the personal details of concealed-carry permit holders when it launched its 2022 Firearms Dashboard Portal. The information included the full name, birthday, race, and address of every permit holder in the state, as well as the date permits were issued.”
Was it an inadvertent mistake, though?
This is precisely why gun owners warn about privacy violations — among other problems — nearly inherent in databases of people exercising their Second Amendment rights. California’s doxxing is a great example of (one reason) why any kind of gun registry is a terrible idea. Democrats run California, and Democrats are overtly hostile to the Second Amendment. When you think “guns are the problem,” you’re going to do stuff like this.
It’s not just an inconvenience, either. Given the hatred leftists have for conservatives these days, and the drastically increased crime both in California and nationwide, there’s a very real safety risk. Said Chuck Michel, president of the California Rifle & Pistol Association advocacy group, “The attorney general has put the lives of judges, prosecutors, domestic violence victims and everyday citizens at risk by releasing this sensitive confidential information that gives criminals a map to their homes.”
State Attorney General Rob Bonta called the release “unacceptable.” He added: “We acknowledge the stress this may cause those individuals whose information was exposed. I am deeply disturbed and angered.”
Was it coincidence that the leak happened on Monday, just days after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the right of the people to bear arms? Many blue states are scrambling to update their laws following the Court’s ruling on concealed carry permitting, and — out on a limb — Democrats will be doing so in the most constrictive ways they can think of.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul moaned, “The Supreme Court, less than a week ago, turned our world upside down.” Well, when your world is the Upside Down, right side up does seem strange.
In California, Governor Gavin Newsom plans to sign 16 gun-related bills in the near future, including allowing legal action against manufacturers if their guns are used in crimes. Other Democrat governors are champing at the bit to do likewise.
This hostility to gun rights is a huge threat to Liberty and to individual Americans. In fact, tyrannical government is the primary reason we have a Second Amendment in the first place. Hochul, Newsom, and Co. would do well to remember that.

“In 2016, Hillary falsely claimed that Trump colluded with the Russians to steal the election. Then spied on his rival presidential campaign — and even spied on him as the President of the United States. Then unleashed a bogus investigation to hobble his presidency. ‘Democracy!’ Hillary still claims Trump was an illegitimate president. Democrats objected to GOP wins in 1968 (Nixon), 2000 & 2004 (Bush 43), & Trump (2016).” —Mike Davis, former law clerk to Justice Gorsuch
“Interestingly, the justice who wrote Roe, Harry Blackmun, expected the ruling to have limited effect and never intended for it to be construed as giving women a “right” to an abortion, let alone one on demand and up to and including the third trimester. We know this because years after Blackmun’s death, his personal writings became public. Blackmun, a former general counsel for the Mayo Clinic, wanted doctors to determine what Blackmun anticipated would be rare instances in which an abortion would be medically necessary, as determined by the woman’s doctor. In 2005, the Los Angeles Times wrote about the release of Blackmun’s private papers in an article called ‘Roe Ruling: More Than Its Author Intended.’ Staff writer David Savage wrote: ‘Blackmun proposed to issue a news release to accompany the decision, issued Jan. 22, 1973. “I fear what the headlines may be,” he wrote in a memo. His statement, never issued, emphasized that the court was not giving women “an absolute right to abortion,” nor was it saying that the “Constitution compels abortion on demand.”’ Blackmun wrote that abortion ‘must be left to the medical judgment of the pregnant woman’s attending physician’ based upon a doctor’s consideration of ‘all factors — physical, emotional, psychological, familial and the woman’s age — relevant to the well-being of the patient.’ If there is any doubt that the Court expected Roe to change little about abortion, the day of the Roe decision, Chief Justice Warren Burger said, ‘Plainly, the court today rejects any claim that the Constitution requires abortion on demand.’“ —Larry Elder

“The most important thing to be clear about is we have to codify Roe v. Wade into law and the way to do that is to make sure Congress votes to do that. And if the filibuster gets in the way, it’s like voting rights, it should be provided an exception for this … to the filibuster.” —Joe Biden
“The federal government needs to be exploring what they can do to make federal lands available to help ensure access to abortion.” —Senator Elizabeth Warren
“The Supreme Court has engaged in the overreaching of its authority in denying the human and civil rights of any pregnant person or person that could become pregnant in the United States of America. They have engaged in overreach, and it is the responsibility of the president and Congress to put the Supreme Court in check because they have delegitimized themselves.” —Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Despite the statistics and mathematical models dramatically overrating the risk of the virus, and the obvious side effects of the vaccine, many are not capable of seeing it. The most salient characteristic of this psychological trend is that it makes people radically blind to everything that goes against the narrative in which they believe.

The Founding Act of 1997 legally remains in force, but has effectively been violated by the US-led bloc, Lavrov claimed
Neither Russia nor NATO has ever formally denounced the 1997 Founding Act, but in practice it does not work because the alliance is in violation of it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov assessed on Thursday. There were some who believed that the key treaty would be scrapped by NATO during the summit of its leaders in Madrid.
“In a legal sense, the Founding Act continues to exist, we have not initiated the procedure for terminating this agreement,” the minister said during a press conference.
“The decisions that were taken [in Madrid] grossly violate the terms of the Founding Act, first of all the parts regarding NATO’s obligation not to host on a permanent basis any significant troops in the territories of the new – meaning Eastern European – member states,” Lavrov said.
He was referring to NATO’s decision this week to further build up its military presence at the Russian border.
The Russian minister’s assessment of the viability of the 1997 document coincided with that of his German counterpart, Annalena Baerbock, who is one of the most vocal critics of Russia.
“The Russian government has made it clear that the NATO-Russia Founding Act is no longer worth anything to it. So we now have to acknowledge that this basic act was also unilaterally terminated by Russia, not by NATO,” Baerbock told reporters after a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in May.
The key treaty was adopted as NATO was planning to expand in Europe, triggering concerns from Russia. Moscow said doing so would violate prior assurances that the alliance would not move past a unified Germany, as that posed a threat to Russian national security.
The first post-Cold War wave of NATO enlargement that incorporated the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland into the bloc came two years later, with more waves following against Russian objections.
Moscow has long complained about the inefficiency of the NATO-Russia Council, a forum where the two parties were supposed to settle grievances, which was established by the Act. However, the alliance used it to simply stonewall Russia, it claimed.
Russia fully suspended its office at NATO HQ in Brussels in October 2021, after the organization kicked out eight Russian diplomats for allegedly working for Russian intelligence. NATO’s office in Moscow was consequently shut down.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – With Ketanji Brown Jackson set to take over Justice Stephen Breyer’s seat on the Supreme Court today, aides have been hard at work changing all the restroom signs to “gender-neutral” so Jackson doesn’t get confused when she has to use the restroom.
“It’s important to make accommodations for differently-abled non-biologists like KBJ,” said SCOTUS Clerk Michael Qian. “We are excited that Ketanji will not only be here to represent women of color, but people of mental confusion as well.”
The clerks will also be hard at work striking all uses of the word “woman” from cases and legal briefings passed to the newest justice, as any use of the word “woman” causes her to start stuttering in confusion and say things like “I’m not qualified for this.”
At publishing time, Conservatives called for KBJ to recuse herself from all cases involving women.

On Thursday night, the Fox News host laid bare the Biden administration’s escalating war against political enemies.
“Here’s a list of the things they’ve done, because no one has assembled them,” said Carlson.
First on the list is Douglass Mackey – who was arrested for allegedly creating memes aimed at trolling Hillary Clinton voters by convincing them they could cast their ballots by phone.
Next, Tucker notes the FBI raid on the homes of two men who lawfully organized a permitted January 6th political rally.
Tucker continues, reminding us of the time the feds seized Rudy Giuliani‘s attorney-client privileged records, as well as the arrest of InfoWars journalist Owen Shroyer for telling the J6 crowd that they were marching against the 2020 “stolen election” – which Carlson notes is protected free speech.
He then notes the raid of Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe and associates over how they obtained Ashley Biden’s “inappropriate showers with Joe” diary.
The list goes on and on, with Carlson noting the DOJ’s double standards and gestapo tactics against political opponents.
