Day 28: Prayerful Work — Daily Declaration

Intention

To understand the challenging but rewarding work of prayer for revival

Scripture

“After Jesus had sent the crowds away,
He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray;
and when it was evening, He was there alone.”
— Matt 14:23

Reflection

When we think about revival, we often ponder the amazing outpourings of the Holy Spirit over the last two thousand years — times when Jesus has brought large numbers into the Kingdom, with signs and wonders accompanying.

I remember so clearly the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that came from Toronto, Canada, in the 1990s and the millions of lives that were changed, including my own. Then there was World Youth Day in 2008, a mainly Catholic event in Sydney that attracted 400,000 young people and transformed many lives through the powerful demonstration of the Gospel.

These stories are true and exciting. However, there is something that always precedes these wonderful times, and this is the work of prayer.

Prayer — and particularly prayer for revival — requires work… sometimes hard work.

In the scripture quoted above, we see Jesus getting up, moving and transporting Himself somewhere to pray. He had to do something. He had to move. It’s also likely that when Jesus was in this lonely place, He was active in His prayer. Prayer requires work.

My lovely wife and I have just returned from some days of prayer in a beautiful holy monastery, where the presence of God is extraordinarily tangible. We had a nice room, lovely food and were surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation. Yet, despite all this loveliness, I had to work hard in prayer.

“What do you mean?” I hear you say.

Well, I arrived with a lot of stuff going on in my head and spirit. Not bad stuff. Just things that I needed to work through so that I could connect deeply with the Father. I needed to do this to get His perspective and to hear what He had to say. This required work — moving, reading, journaling and listening with my heart.

It took a couple of days of intense focus; yet when the breakthrough into the presence of Jesus came, it was worth it. Prayer requires work.

We know Warwick Marsh and his team are working hard to lead us in this time of prayer. I’m sure your own prayer requires effort too — just like Jesus.

To finish, I’d like to quote from Pope Francis, who describes the amazing journey of following Jesus and the practical work this involves:

“Being a disciple means being constantly ready to bring the love of Jesus to others, and this can happen unexpectedly and in any place: on the street, in a city square, during work, or on a journey.”

Prayer

Jesus, Our Lord and Saviour,

We thank You that You call us into the work of prayer.
And we pray that this work will lead to revival.

Amen.

Pardon and Forgiveness — VCY America

He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for everPsalm 103:9

He will chide sometimes, or He would not be a wise Father for such poor, erring children as we are. His chiding is very painful to those who are true, because they feel how sadly they deserve it and how wrong it is on their part to grieve Him. We know what this chiding means, and we bow before the Lord, mourning that we should cause Him to be angry with us.

But what a comfort we find in these lines! “Not always” will He chide. If we repent and turn to Him with hearts broken for sin and broken from sin, He will smile upon us at once. It is no pleasure to Him to turn a frowning face toward those whom He loves with all His heart: it is His joy that our joy should be full.

Come, let us seek His face. There is no reason for despair, nor even for despondency. Let us love a chiding God, and before long we shall sing, “Thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortest me.” Be gone, ye dark forebodings, ye ravens of the soul! Come in, ye humble hopes and grateful memories, ye doves of the heart! He who pardoned us long ago as a judge will again forgive us as a father, and we shall rejoice in His sweet, unchanging love.

Praying When in Need — Daily Devotionals by Thoughts about God

Read: James 1:1-5

What do you do when you lack clarity in the midst of a trial?

Oftentimes we are tempted to do something, anything. But the wisest approach is to pray and wait on the Lord for direction. But how do we begin?

Prayer starts with transitioning our thoughts from the situation at hand to the Lord. What we need is His perspective on the difficulty we’re facing. Then we can ask Him to do what He’s purposed to accomplish through the challenging circumstance—whatever that may be. When we pray God-centered prayers according to His will, we can be certain that He will give us what we have requested (1 John 5:14-15).

In addition, the prayer pattern that Jesus Christ taught His disciples in Matthew 6:11-13 reveals the type of needs our Father wants us to bring before Him. As He provides for us, we will learn to trust Him more and more. Keeping a prayer list is helpful because it becomes a record of our interactions with the Lord. When we see a direct correlation between our requests and His answers, it will become increasingly evident that God has worked in our life. Specific prayers are even better than general requests because God’s faithfulness is even more undeniable.

One request God promises to answer with a “yes” is the desire for wisdom. Whenever we need understanding, particularly in trials, we are to petition our heavenly Father, and He will give it generously as we fill our minds with scriptural truths. And as our wisdom increases, joy and trust in the Lord will too.

God, Why Me? — Daily Devotionals by Thoughts about God

“I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.” Psalm 34:1-3

Several times, people ask this very question which implies that God has either abandoned them or that, He no longer cares. In challenging situations they ask, ‘God why me’? In depressing times they ask’ God why me’? Hardly do these persons ask ‘God, Why me’?  when they swim in successes and abounds in His goodness.

Indisputably, challenges and trials confront us in life. It is only of the mercies of God that we are not consumed in them, for God’s love for us is new each passing day.  Bearing this in mind, during overwhelming times, God expects us to understand that; “it is not of him that wills, nor of Him that runs, but of God that shows mercy” – Romans 9:16

Have you ever asked ‘God why me’? – For making you see a new day.  Have you asked Him, ‘God why me’? – that Jesus shed His blood  to redeem you from the bondage of Satan. Have you asked God why me?, that you are not in prison (many people are there without even committing any crime) Have you asked ‘God why me’? – for healing you of illnesses that killed other persons. Have you asked ‘God why me’? – For rescuing you from disasters that consumed many other people. Have you asked ‘God why me’? That you can see with your eyes, breath normally without a life-support, you are mentally healthy, you can eat normal food, you have access to clean drinkable water, etc. Many persons dream of what you have, but, can’t anywhere close to possess them.

If you can begin to ask, ‘God why me’?  in a positive manner, that is, remembering and acknowledging God’s goodness,  it will amaze you what God did, does and is doing in your life. For once, ignore whatever it is that is keeping you awake through the night and start celebrating the faithfulness of God in and all around you.  By so doing, you will develop an attitude of thanksgiving to God, and in return, He will melt off all your problems.

God loves you so much that He sent His son Jesus Christ to die for your sins. After His resurrection and ascension into heaven, He sent His Spirit to live in our lives and empower us to live the abundant life.  But we must personally ask Him into our lives to be our Lord and Savior.  If you are sincere about asking Him into your life, why don’t you pray the suggested prayer below:

(Prayer is talking to God. God knows your heart and is not as concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart.)

Lord Jesus, I want to know You personally. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life to You and ask you to come in as my Savior and Lord. Take control of my life. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen.

Researchers create first quasiparticle Bose-Einstein condensate
Physicists have created the first Bose-Einstein condensate—the mysterious fifth state of matter—made from quasiparticles, entities that do not count as elementary particles but that can still have elementary-particle properties like charge and spin. For decades, it was unknown whether they could undergo Bose-Einstein condensation in the same way as real particles, and it now appears that they can. The finding is set to have a significant impact on the development of quantum technologies including quantum computing.

Biden Administration Will Release Another 15 Million Barrels Of Oil From Strategic Petroleum Reserve As His Plan To Destroy The Gas Companies Rolls On
One of the main reasons why pretend president Joe Biden was installed in the White House was to enable the New World Order to tear down the United States from the inside out. Indeed, the first two items on Biden’s ‘Day One’ executive order signing spree was to 1). promote transgenderism, and 2). destroy America’s nascent energy independence by shutting down our oil and natural gas pipelines. Gas prices are high and remain high as of this writing, but they are not high because of Putin. They are high because of Biden.

FEATURED ANALYSIS

Democrats’ Last-Minute Economic Hope

Third-quarter GDP grew 2.6%, but the reasons for that are concerning rather than encouraging.

Nate Jackson

For the first two quarters of 2022, Gross Domestic Product fell, meaning Joe Biden and his Democrat pals had steered the nation into recession — despite Leftmedia attempts to change the long-understood definition of what constitutes a recession. Well, October Surprise! GDP in the third quarter grew by a seemingly healthy and “better than expected” 2.6%.

The Dow Jones took off this morning on the good news, and millions of Americans will be happy indeed with some positive economic news for a change.

But there are some dark clouds in this silver lining. Yeah, we know — “thanks, Debbie Downer.”

“Consumer spending, the economy’s main engine, cooled from July to September compared with the previous quarter,” reports The Wall Street Journal.

To that point, EJ Antoni of The Heritage Foundation said, “Consumer spending and business investment combined actually contributed -0.62 percentage points to GDP.” So why did GDP grow? Antoni says, “All of GDP growth last quarter was due to [a] decline in imports and an increase in exports.”

Commentator Ed Morrissey explains, “This is almost entirely due to another massive trade difference: exports up 14.4%, imports down -6.9%.” Therefore, he says, “This is not a normal status and we can likely expect another big swing to the opposite in Q4.” That’s because, for the second straight quarter, private investment declined. Morrissey concludes, “Businesses and investors don’t appear to have much confidence in future growth.”

Indeed, Paul Ashworth, chief North America economist at Capital Economics, warns: “Exports will soon fade and domestic demand is getting crushed under the weight of higher interest rates. We expect the economy to enter a mild recession in the first half of next year.” Higher interest rates are already crushing big-ticket items like autos and homes; prices for houses are plummeting at the fastest pace in over a decade.

As for the trade shift, it could be explained by two things: The supply chain is still so gummed up that goods simply aren’t coming in as they were, and consumers are unable to afford as many things as they could when Donald Trump was president.

Aside from telling us after another wretched inflation report that the economy is “strong as hell,” Joe Biden says he and his party just need more time for their policies to finally fix things. “I’m optimistic,” he said of tamping down inflation. “It’s going to take some time. I appreciate the frustration of the American people.”

That’s a far cry from telling us 15 months ago that inflation was “temporary.”

He hopped on Twitter yesterday to Biden-splain why painfully high gas prices are actually good news because they’re a bit better than June. “Gas prices have decreased for 2 weeks, and are down by more than $1.20 since their June peak,” he said. “That’s saving American families with two cars about $130 per month on average.” Gas is also costing American families a lot more than when Donald Trump was president.

As comforting as it may be that he “appreciates” our frustration, his policies are largely to blame for inflation, high gas prices, and a struggling economy. From shutting down pipelines and drilling permits to redistributing trillions of inflationary dollars to issuing umpteen burdensome regulations, Biden and his crack team of economic novices have taken a wrecking ball to what was a roaring recovery from the pandemic malaise.

The Democrat fanboys at the Associated Press assure us that “Biden zeroes in on economic message as campaign winds down.” But the truth is, rather than honestly address the economy — never mind righting the ship — he’s busy running around telling us we need to ban guns to save our kids and we need to kill our babies all the way up until birth to save women’s “rights.” And when it’s not those things, President Unity™ is scaring everyone about the “threat to democracy” posed by Trump and the “MAGA Republican” “semi-fascists.”

Republicans, he has now taken to saying, plan to “drive up inflation” with their “failed economic vision.” In the alternate reality he inhabits, today’s Q3 GDP report provided “further evidence that our economic recovery is continuing to power forward.” By contrast, he insists, “Republicans have been rooting for a downturn.”

No, Republicans, conservatives, and anyone with their eyes open have simply been observing the downturn Biden created. Third-quarter growth is good news, but as we’ve noted, the reasons for it don’t really assuage our concern that the economy is on shaky ground.

The Democrats’ ‘Waukesha’ Problem

The party’s soft-on-crime policies are in for a reckoning on November 8.

Douglas Andrews

The verdict was no surprise, and it no doubt brought some measure of closure to a grieving community. Still, it must be disappointing to many Wisconsinites that their state doesn’t have the death penalty.

A 40-year-old career criminal and hater of white people was found guilty yesterday of 75 felonies — six counts of first-degree intentional homicide, 61 counts of recklessly endangering safety, six counts of hit-and-run causing death, and two counts of bail jumping — for having raced his red SUV into the annual Waukesha Christmas parade.

His victims were as young as eight-year-old Jackson Sparks and as old as 81-year-old Bill Hospel. One shop owner along the parade route remembers a customer giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to one of the Dancing Grannies in front of her store. Another shop owner remembers cleaning the blood off the front of her building.

The jury’s deliberations lasted around 90 minutes, which would seem to have been around 89 minutes too long. As we noted at the time, it was a preventable atrocity, and it was the direct result of the Democrat Party’s soft-on-crime policies.

How so? The violent soon-to-be mass murderer should’ve been in jail the night of Waukesha’s parade, but had been released on bail that leftist Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm helpfully admitted within hours of the massacre was “inappropriately low.”

Leave it to CNN, though, to portray the racist assailant — the guy who shared pro-Hitler memes on social media, compared cops to Klansmen, and called for violence against white people — in a sympathetic light.

“Man accused of driving a car through the Waukesha Christmas parade delivers tearful closing arguments,” read its tone-deaf headline.

Perhaps The Most Trusted Name in News™ took its cues from Dawn Woods, the mass murderer’s mom, who [referred to her son as “a caged bird” and said she hopes his case will “raise awareness of mental illness.”

We think not. Instead, we have a feeling that this case will raise awareness of the criminal-justice policies that have made this and countless other crimes of life-shattering violence possible.

As Allie Beth Stuckey put it in this case: “Reminder that if we had a functioning justice system, [the perp] would have already been in prison during the Waukesha Parade, and his victims would still be alive. Instead, two parents had to bury their 8-year-old son. Social justice kills.”

Our friend is missing a set of scare quotes, but her point is well taken: Social “justice” kills.

Democrats, of course, pay precious little attention to rampant crime except in the run-up to elections, when they begin to feel the heat from their beleaguered constituents and see their career-dissipation lights start to flicker.

We noted this yesterday after New York Republican Congressman and Army veteran Lee Zeldin took the state’s incumbent Democrat governor, Kathy Hochul, to the woodshed:

You have people who are afraid of being pushed in front of oncoming subway cars. They’re being stabbed, beaten to death on the street with hammers.

Go talk to the Asian-American community and how it’s impacted them with the loss of lives, Jewish people targeted with raw, violent anti-Semitism on our streets. It just happened, yet again. We need to be talking about all of these other crimes, but instead Kathy Hochul is too busy patting herself on the back.

On the other hand, it’s comforting to know that the Democrats have their priorities in order, as evidenced by those 87,000 new cops IRS employees they want to sic on us.

Remember these outrages: the hammer attacks, the subway shoves, the wilding, the looting, the brazen thievery, the “Knockout Game,” the pro-criminal Soros DAs in our big cities, the Defund Democrats, the denialism — remember it all next next Tuesday.

Executive News Summary

Assault on Rubio canvasser was political violence, second railroad labor union threatens to derail Biden’s labor deal, and more.

Thomas Gallatin & Jordan Candler

Cross-Examination

  • Confirmed: Assault on Rubio canvasser was political violence: A campaign canvasser for Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio was attacked and severely beaten over the weekend in an incident of anti-Republican political violence. On Wednesday, police in Hialeah, Florida, arrested a second suspect in the assault. The victim, who was wearing a Rubio T-shirt, was in the neighborhood passing out campaign fliers supporting both Rubio and Governor Ron DeSantis when he was confronted and blocked by the two suspects on the sidewalk. The men allegedly told the campaign worker he was not allowed to go into their neighborhood, and when he tried to walk around them, they proceeded to attack him. One of the attackers released two dogs from his vehicle onto the victim as well. It is unclear if there were more suspects involved in the assault. “Detectives are pending other witness statements and video,” noted Sgt. Jose Torres. “We want to make sure that every person involved in the beating is brought to justice.” This is the latest incident in apparent politically motivated violence against Republicans. Last month, in North Dakota, a man who murdered a teenager with his truck following an argument claimed that the victim was a “Republican extremist.” These attacks come after Joe Biden’s infamous speech accusing “MAGA Republicans” of posing an “extremist” threat to the country.
  • Trumped-up leaking: Joe Biden’s Justice Department has reveled its politically motivated bias as it has begun leaking like a sieve to the press negative information on Donald Trump over the last couple of weeks — just in time for the midterms. One leak claims that Trump ordered aides to move subpoenaed materials prior to the FBI raid of his Mar-a-Lago estate. The documents in question allegedly contained secrets regarding China and Russia that presented a national security threat to the U.S. The frequency of the negative Trump leaks from the DOJ to the media began increasing in mid-October. Andrew McCarthy observes the reason for this: “Democrats don’t have an answer to inflation and crime, so they are trying to make it as if Trump were on the ballot. It’s not just these leaks, but all the investigations are stepping up at a time helpful for Democrats because they don’t have an argument for crime and inflation for the midterms.” Constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley has also noticed that Biden’s DOJ is leaking at an unprecedented rate: “Washington floats on a sea of leaks, but, even in this city, the leaks from the Garland Justice Department are shocking. What began as a concerning trickle of leaks has become a virtual tsunami.” Turley adds: “These leaks make a mockery of the policy against filings that might influence an election. These officials are achieving the same purpose through media allies.” The DOJ is effectively working hand in glove with Leftmedia cohorts to make the claim — without actually legally proving it — that Trump is a criminal, thereby discrediting him and Republicans generally. What is actually criminal are members of the DOJ leaking to the media, but, unsurprisingly, Attorney General Merrick Garland seems entirely unconcerned and uninterested in finding these leakers. It’s not politically beneficial to Democrats to do so.
  • Second railroad labor union threatens to derail Biden’s labor deal: Another railroad labor union has rejected Joe Biden’s negotiated labor deal, raising the specter of a nationwide railroad strike that could bring a significant sector of the nation’s supply chain infrastructure to a grinding halt. The Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS), a union that represents 6,000 railroad workers, voted overwhelmingly to reject the deal, making it the second major railroad worker union to do so. The Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Division of the Teamsters previously rejected it. Just over 60% of BRS members voted to reject the deal, primarily over a lack of an agreement for paid time off for illness. The negotiation time for a deal to be reached between the railroads and workers unions before Congress may step in is November 14. Thus far, six of the 12 railroad labor unions that combined represent 115,000 workers have voted in favor of accepting the deal. Two unions have rejected the deal, with the remaining four scheduled to hold votes next week.

Womanhood Is More Than Skin Deep

On Dylan Mulvaney, American moral decay, and truth.

Emmy Griffin

Dylan Mulvaney has been at the front of the cultural conversation this week. Mulvaney, a biological male who is “transgender” and claims to be a girl, stirred up the hornets’ nest with an interview on the Ulta Beauty podcast and then by being invited to the White House to interview President Joe Biden.

Just who is Dylan Mulvaney? He started his social media journey as a homosexual man who interviewed animals and was constantly out in nature with his microphone. He posted one video that went viral and began to build his TikTok following from there. Mulvaney was also a talented Broadway actor who was in “The Book of Mormon” — a very anti-religious (really sacrilegious) musical. It was during the COVID lockdowns that Mulvaney seemed to begin his decent into the gender rabbit hole. He first declared he was nonbinary and then decided he was really a girl.

This was the beginning of the new Dylan Mulvaney TikTok series “Days of Girlhood.” Right off the bat, Mulvaney — because he is not a woman — apes a female stereotype, and an obnoxious one at that: “Day one of being a girl and I’ve already cried three times. I wrote a scathing email that I did not send. I ordered dresses online that I couldn’t afford and, uh, when someone asked me how I was I said, ‘I’m fine.’ But I wasn’t fine. So,” — here Mulvaney applies lipgloss for effect — “how’d I do, ladies? Good? Girl power!” It was an insincere depiction of a neurotic hormonal women — but a type that only really exists on TV and not in real life.

Each successive video further illustrates that Mulvaney is attempting to play at being a girl. In some videos Mulvaney portrays the slutty bimbo, in some videos he plays the over-the-top teenage girl, and in other videos he dresses in clothes that harken back to Jackie Kennedy or the presidential type. All of this feeds the obvious: Mulvaney is in womanface and playing the part of a girl, but it’s only that — an elaborate pantomime.

It is clear that Mulvaney is struggling mentally. He even disclosed that on the Ulta Beauty podcast. When asked by the host if he set out to make his transition so public, Mulvaney replied that “10 out of 10” he would not recommend it. He also remarked that he was thankful he was already in therapy before “Days of Girlhood” started because the pushback has been intense.

Mulvaney being invited to represent women on Ulta Beauty’s podcast is an unforgivable insult to women. That should be laid mainly at the feet of Ulta Beauty. Mulvaney has gender dysphoria, and it could be argued Ulta Beauty was taking advantage of a mentally unstable individual. By propping up Mulvaney as a spokesperson for womanhood, Ulta Beauty said women don’t matter. So, naturally, plenty of women have decided to boycott.

It is offensive that Mulvaney is venerated as a voice of girlhood and womanhood — he has no idea how to be that voice because he is a man relying on stereotypes (nor should he ever have been put in that position). It is despicable and horrific that he wants to promote gender mutilation and sterilization of children and teens. It is loathsome that Mulvaney and others like him would also like to take sports away from women or to be allowed to go into female private spaces against their will. The most monstrous of all is that the president of the United States affirmed Mulvaney and his delusions — then went a step further. Joe Biden called those states that want to protect children from the irreversible damage of this ideology immoral and “just wrong.” It is also heartbreaking to watch Mulvaney clearly struggling and no one actually helping, only using him for power and political points.

The hard truth about transgenderism and “gender affirming” care is that it attacks the vulnerable. It targets children who have been either ideologically groomed or victims of other atrocities. It exploits mentally ill adults. “Gender affirming” surgeries are genital mutilation with a politically correct name. Cross-sex hormones do not turn you into the other sex; instead, they leave the sufferer with more serious medical problems including cancer, osteoporosis, and sterilization. These drugs are not reversible and are not a “pause button,” as they have been advertised to be. It is also an issues that 80% of Americans are against.

Our president’s stance on the gender mutilation and sterilization of kids in the name of Queer Marxism is a potent comment on the decline of morality in our culture today. Political pundit Ben Shapiro talked about this at length in a recent podcast. His overarching point is that leftists and their woke ideology (critical race theory, Queer Marxism, the right to abortion, the destruction of the family, getting rid of rules and roles in society) only want to tear down the institutions. They don’t want to build anything back up in their place.

The Left wants us to celebrate what it is destroying. Here is a woman, it says of Mulvaney, who is clearly a man. Isn’t she brave and wonderful? Celebrate her or you’re a bigot. Let her activist agenda be the law of the land and destroy countless children and their families.

And all for what? Power for the elites, and ultimately the destruction of society as a whole.

Climate Crazies Get Stuck in Their Own Stupidity

Overzealous activists complain of not receiving a bowl to defecate in after super-glueing themselves to a museum floor.

Thomas Gallatin

Dogmatic climate activists, who reference bad science to justify their extremist demands to impose large scale socialism onto the Western world, have gone to increasingly ridiculous lengths in an effort to gin up attention for their fairy-tale ideology. One of the more humorous actions these leftist activists took recently was at the Porsche Austostadt museum in Wolfsburg, Germany. Fifteen members of an ecofascist group called ScientistRebel1 superglued their hands to the floor of the museum and declared that they would stay there and go on a hunger strike until their demands for decarbonizing the German transport industry and socializing the economy were met.

The display is similar to other actions in museums across Europe, where climate activists will throw things such as mashed potatoes onto famous pieces of art and then proceed to superglue their hands to the wall so as to be difficult to remove as they rant about “climate catastrophe.” It amounts to a childish temper tantrum as these leftist climate radicals demand everyone acquiesce to their twisted ideology.

But sometimes there is a bit of well-deserved justice for these childish and foolish displays. Such was the case with those 15 activists who glued themselves to the Porsche museum floor. Volkswagen simply agreed that they had the right to protest and left the activists stuck to the floor and turned the lights out and closed the museum.

Left in their self-imposed predicament, one of the leaders of the group complained that VW had “refused our request to provide us with a bowl to urinate and defecate in a decent manner while we are glued, and have turned off the heating,” while “people in support can’t get out of the building.” It is indeed ironic that a group demanding the end to carbonization would complain about the heat being turned off — or use petroleum-based superglue in the first place. But consistency has never been a principle valued by leftist radicals.

The world might have fewer of these full-grown climate toddlers if not for wealthy leftists providing funding. For example, the activists who recently threw a can of tomato soup onto Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” received $1 million from the granddaughter heiress to oil tycoon J. Paul Getty. Aileen Getty long ago drank the anti-fossil fuel Kool-Aid when she cofounded Climate Emergency Fund, a nonprofit organization that works to fund climate activist groups.

Because these folks have failed to win the climate change argument on sound scientific grounds, they have resorted to a form of soft terrorism. Most of it is merely annoying and inconvenient, but it has gotten progressively worse over recent years. There has been an increasing number of incidents of climate activists breaking laws, such as sitting across major roadways and blocking traffic, as they continue their pattern of escalation. Of course, they self-righteously justify their belligerence by claiming with cult-like fanaticism that they are seeking to save the planet. Nothing of the sort is actually true.

The Midterm Referendum

This is Americans’ chance to reconsider their 2020 choices. Hmm…

Jack DeVine

Both political sides refer to the 2022 midterm elections — officially two weeks away, but already in progress via mail-in and early voting — as the most important in history. That’s said every election, but there are indeed a barrage of very tough issues facing our country right now.

But it’s bigger than that. The midterms are essentially a referendum, an opportunity for American voters to reflect on the leadership team they hired two years ago and to weigh in on that team’s competence, its effectiveness, and — critically — on the direction it is taking the nation.

Joe Biden is not on the ballot, but his administration and his polices certainly are. This election is not a referendum on abortion, or January 6, or any other single issue. Nor is it a referendum on Donald Trump, despite the Democrats’ feverish effort to make it one. This is a big-picture election.

To those on the Right, the verdict is already in: So far, the Biden administration has been a train wreck. The country is saddled with crushing inflation, rampant illegal immigration, looming war clouds in Europe and the Western Pacific, and a myriad of unsettling internal issues. Seemingly overnight, boys can be girls, violent criminals needn’t stay in jail, and an unreliable energy supply is OK as long as it’s green.

In fairness, the Biden administration has had more than its share of bad luck. As the president reminds us daily, inflation is a global problem. Russia, not the U.S., started the war in Ukraine.

But to most American voters, the midterm election cycle boils down to two very fundamental questions. Are we OK with our country’s hard-left swing and all it entails? And is Biden the cool, competent hand on the helm voters expected?

To both the answer is clearly “No.”

The Biden administration is implementing a thoroughly left-wing agenda, without an electoral mandate to do so. This is our chance to recalibrate. And both the direction of the nation and the administration’s constant stumbling along the way tell us all we need to know about the president’s leadership.

He is divisive. To Biden, America is systemically racist. He sees political adversaries as “semi-fascist” enemies of the nation and citizens who disagree with his policies as “domestic terrorists.” In his decades as a pampered career politician, Biden obviously never learned the key to true leadership: sharing the successes and shouldering responsibility for failures. He’s a boaster and a blamer.

The alarm bells started going off on Day One, when the new president delivered an eloquent inaugural address pledging to heal the nation — and then retreated to the Oval Office to sign a stack of executive orders that effectively declared war on half of America.

The missteps were right behind. Having foolishly promised to “crush” COVID (and being elected largely on that basis), Biden took credit for the successful distribution of vaccines without mention of his predecessor’s role in creating them. As the death toll doubled, he shifted the blame to others (e.g., “it’s a disease of the unvaccinated”).

COVID was not Joe Biden’s fault. But we are just now beginning to reckon with the long-term financial, emotional, health, and educational consequences of his administration’s haphazard — and largely ineffective — mandates and restrictions.

The Biden leadership façade came crashing down during the Afghanistan debacle. We watched it in real time. After the president proudly claimed ownership of his mission to extract America from endless war, there followed the horrifying string of operational blunders, then reflexive blame (it’s Trump’s fault!), and finally insistence that the withdrawal was really quite successful.

And there is the economy — which is not “strong as hell.” Inflation is a financial calamity for every American, and uncontrolled spending is a major contributor. For two years, with inflation ballooning before our eyes, the Biden administration rolled out staggering increases in spending, including a climate change bill (bizarrely titled the Inflation Reduction Act) and a wholly unnecessary (and arguably illegal) student loan forgiveness policy. Through all, he seems blissfully unconcerned about the financial harm his policies are causing.

The list goes on. The porous southern border that is inviting drugs, disease, and unvetted millions? Let’s just look the other way.

For me, it’s hard to argue with the train wreck characterization; surely many disagree, but I suspect that the midterm results will confirm that as the prevailing American view. Of course, that won’t solve all of our problems, but it’s a big step in the right direction.

Therefore, to everyone, VOTE! If you’re happy with the direction of the country, VOTE! If you’re not, VOTE! There must be no ambiguity this time.

SHORT CUTS

Insight

“The purpose of voting, in our country, is to select men and women with the competence and integrity to operate the mechanics of government fixed by our Constitution. For this process to have any public benefit requires that the choices be made on an intelligent, knowledgeable and reasoned basis.” —Charley Reese (1937-2013)

For the Record

“How intense is voter interest in Georgia? Just look at turnout. People are voting early in droves. Record numbers. … Through Sunday, 740,615 Georgians have voted early in person. Another 76,247 have voted absentee, for a total of 816,862. ‘Saturday’s total marks an astounding 159% increase from day six of 2018 midterm early voting and shattered the turnout record of day six of early voting in the 2020 presidential election by 20%,’ the [Georgia Secretary of State’s] office said. … There is no Jim Crow 2.0. There is no Jim Crow on steroids. There is no 21st-century Jim Crow. … Do not look for President Biden or those who echoed his words to apologize. That’s not going to happen. But events have proven them wrong, wrong, wrong.” —Byron York

“Since May, the political press has largely served as an apologist for [John] Fetterman, believing his campaign’s lies about his health instead of pushing hard because the media itself is against Dr. Oz. But now, the whole world has seen that Fetterman has serious issues. The world has also seen the American political press and pundit class savage an NBC reporter for accurately relaying Fetterman had serious issues. Let’s not forget the supposed reporters who claimed they did interviews with Fetterman and there was nothing wrong at all. They clearly had to be lying or they were duped in some way. … Now, to salvage its credibility and save face … the media must turn on Fetterman aggressively for covering up the extent of his stroke and recovery.” —Erick Erickson

“Even if John Fetterman were the most gifted and intelligent politician, even if he dressed as a grown man and not as an angry child, his twin passions for marxism and murder would be radically disqualifying.” —Stephen Miller

Circling the Wagons

“It was really strange to me that [Oz] chose to bully a stroke victim. Right? Like, he obviously was bullying him. … It takes real bravery to allow people to see your weakness, right? And we know that Fetterman’s cognitive abilities have not been compromised.” —”The View” co-host Sunny Hostin

“The Republican Party is running a bunch of ads about showing Fetterman stumbling on things because of the stroke. What kind of a doctor is behind that? Aren’t you supposed to do no harm? It’s so unempathetic to the guy.” —”The View” co-host Joy Behar

“I think [Fetterman’s] answers were very direct.” —Senator Bob Casey

The BIG Lies

“For months, doomsayers have been arguing that the US economy is in a recession and Congressional Republicans have been rooting for a downturn. But today we got further evidence that our economic recovery is continuing to power forward. … Congressional Republicans have a very different agenda — one that would drive up inflation and add to the deficit by cutting taxes for the wealthiest Americans and large corporations. It would raise the cost of prescription drugs, health care, and energy for American families. That failed economic vision is not the way to give families more breathing room and grow our economy so working families can get ahead.” —Joe Biden

“Democrats are lowering your everyday costs like prescription drugs, health care costs, and energy bills. Republicans have made it clear: They want to increase everyday costs.” —President Joe Biden

Non Compos Mentis Awards

“Some airlines, if you want six more inches between you and the seat in front, you pay more money but you don’t know it until you purchase your ticket. Look, folks, these are junk fees, they’re unfair, and they hit marginalized Americans the hardest, especially low-income folks and people of color.” —Joe Biden

“Today, 95% of our school buses are fueled with diesel fuel, which contributes to very serious conditions that are about health and about the ability to learn.” —Vice President Kamala Harris

And Last…

“Reminder that if we had a functioning justice system, Darrell Brooks would have already been in prison during the Waukesha Parade, and his victims would still be alive. Instead, two parents had to bury their 8-year-old son. Social justice kills.” —Allie Beth Stuckey

Why Are Our Borders Wide Open To Everyone In The World? | Freedom’s Phoenix

Who exactly continues to destroy America with open borders?  Is it Biden? Is it his handlers?  Is it the New World Order people? Is it Soros?  Is it the people attempting to imitate the European Union by creating a North American Union of Canada, America, Central America and Mexico? Please note: Europe is being destroyed by immigration via the European Union.  Is it Barack Obama who promised to, “Fundamentally change America…?”  Is it someone who wants to displace Whites because they displaced the Native Americans?  Who is it that actually would like to see total chaos and breakdown of America?

At this point, whomever is trying to destroy the very foundation of America, and our Constitution…they are succeeding.  They have kids hating their own country enough to form Antifa, La Raza, Black Lives Matter, the Muslim Brotherhood, Somaliland, Islamic Detroit, Smash & Grab, abortion vs pro-life, 35 documented Islamic training centers from New York To California, Covid 19 jabs for everyone with deadly R-MNA, 540,000 homeless Americans, enormous illiteracy in big cities and the list grows.

With all of that nightmare, we have a full-scale invasion of our southern border.  To date, since Dementia Joe settled into the White House 21 months ago, the latest reports show 4.4 million illegal alien border jumpers have swarmed into our country according to the U.S. Border Patrol and www.fairus.org. Another 600,000 “got-a-ways.” They are invading our cities, towns and military bases.  They are housed in hotels, tents, military bases and even being pushed into Air BnB housing. Their children are overwhelming our schools.  All at your expense!

Those are no small numbers!  FAIR also tabulated the cost to American taxpayers at a whopping $20.4 billion of your money.  And, that’s just the beginning.

I can’t say this enough: there are 83,000,000 new babies added to the planet, net gain, annually.  There’s no way we can save even a fraction of them. We can help them in their own countries, but we  cannot continue importing millions of them…because their numbers are beyond our ability to save them.  But we sure can destroy ourselves and our children’s futures if we keep importing them over our borders either legally or illegally.

Cheering those border jumpers on…Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, suffering from  dementia at age 82, applauds them as crop-pickers needed in Florida.  She said that last week while in her own State of California, no less than 100,000 homeless sleep on the sidewalks of Los Angeles and San Francisco.  While she celebrates over 4 million illegals in her own state, along with Governor Gavin Newsome, you’re paying the bills with your hard-earned tax dollars.

Even before Biden assumed office, www.cis.org with Dr. Steven Camarota tabulated 500,000 illegals crossing our borders annually since 1986 when Reagan gave over 4.0 million illegals amnesty. That’s when the invasion started.

But notice, not one House Member or U.S. Senator has ever done anything to stop the human onslaught…save House Member Tom Tancredo from Colorado 20 years ago.

So, what do you make of 23 to 25 million illegals siphoning welfare dollars, education and medical care off your country into the trillions of dollars?  Is there any wonder that you and me, the American taxpayers are up to our eyeballs in $31 trillion in national debt? Is it any wonder that we must listen to Spanish on hundreds of radio and TV shows because their numbers are so great?  They are not here to become Americans.

Have you noticed the ads on TV these days?  Talk about “affirmative action” quotas that have run off the scale!  Have you noticed that education has devolved from the Three R’s, to Critical Race Theory being taught so your children will be despised for the  color of their skin?  What about transgender changes for third graders, and men competing in women’s sports to the point of total destruction of women’s sports?

In fact, this past weekend at a college volleyball game, a transgender guy hit a spike so hard, that when it hit a girl in the face on the other side of the net, the ball knocked her out.  Why? Because a man pretending to be a woman has enough muscle to bash a ball at least 50 miles per hour faster than a woman.  Not only did she suffer a concussion from his spike, but she suffered another concussion when she hit the wood floor.

As an American citizen, a citizen journalist and a man who loves his country—we need to change course if our country hopes to survive the next two years and beyond.  Because, if we don’t, we will exceed a “fail-safe” point where we cannot save our country.

If you like the borders open and you understand the long-term ramifications of such actions by our House members and U.S. Senators,  by all means, vote for more of the same.  Vote Nancy Pelosi, Charles Schumer, all of Biden’s supporters, all open border candidates and all illegal alien sympathizers.  Because, as of 2022, they are winning, and America is losing.

If those open borders people keep winning and keep getting elected…do you have any idea of how much worse it’s going to get for all  of us?

Whom am I supporting?  Every governor should be a Kari Lake out of Arizona and a Senator Blake Masters out of Arizona. They are regular citizens who are sick and tired of worthless career politicians. Every Senator should have the brains, common sense and energy of Dr. Oz out of Pennsylvania.  I’d vote for Lee Zeldin in New York for Governor.  He makes sense and supports the police and the rule of law.  He would fire Attorney General Alvin Bragg who gives criminals a free pass and back on the streets within hours.  He opposes sanctuary cities. I’d vote for Tudor Dixon for governor of Michigan. Why? These people are all-Americans, and they stand for the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law.

We can add Adam Laxalt in Nevada and Joe O’Dea in Colorado.  Both of Colorado’s U.S. Senators Hickenlooper and Bennet are open borders advocates along with Governor Jared Polis.  All of them  have done nothing for U.S. citizens…and in face, work against all of us by supporting Colorado as a “Sanctuary State.”

Whatever you do the next two weeks, think about your future. Think about your kids’  future. Think about your community. Think about your city. Think about your country…right here, the United States of America.

Finally, if we allow our elected leaders to continue on this massive immigration invasion of our country, do you want to live in this country with another 100,000,000 foreigners by 2050?  Do you want us to jump from 335 million to 440 million people all struggling for water, food, energy, transport and resources?  How do you think it will turn out for your kids?

West can’t sit out crises it caused – Putin | RT – Daily news

Only a world united by common goals can act on the challenges it faces, the Russian president said

West can’t sit out crises it caused – Putin

The West and its allies are playing a “dirty game,” the prize in which is global dominance, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said. However, the US and its allies are not safe from the consequences of their own actions, he added.

“Power over the world is what the West has put at stake in the game it plays. This game is certainly dangerous, bloody and I would call it dirty.”

The Russian president’s comments came at a Valdai Discussion Club meeting outside Moscow on Thursday. He offered his view that Western nations deny others on the global scene the right to any kind of independence, be it political, economical or cultural. Last December, Russia’s proposals to address its concerns about national security were “tossed aside” by Washington, he noted.

“But in the modern world, sitting aside is hardly an option. He who sows the wind will reap the whirlwind, as the proverb says,” he said, pointing out that the ongoing global crisis affects everyone and all aspects of life.

Humanity basically now has two paths it can pursue, Putin stated. It can either be fractured and keep accumulating problems that will eventually bury it, or try to find “may be not ideal, but working” solutions to common issues.

Putin said he believes in common sense and is convinced that sooner or later “new centers of power in the multipolar world and the West will have to start talking as equals about our common future.”

The president noted that while the disruption of the ecological balance threatens biodiversity, diversity of political thought, social norms, and culture is as important as genetic diversity. Western nations, which want to impose their values and vision as universal, are robbing everyone, including themselves, Putin reasoned. “First of all, this eradicates the creative potential of the West itself,” he warned. “There is a mercantile interest here too” the Russian leader added, explaining that a homogenous society makes selling things simpler.

Our adversaries, as I would call them, are trying to expand markets for their products. It’s ultimately as primitive as that.

He cited the famous 1978 ‘Harvard Speech’ by the Soviet-era dissident writer and philosopher Alexander Solzhenitsyn, who said that the West was suffering from “a blindness of superiority.” Solzhenitsyn believed that liberal democracies considered their system to be superior and believed that all nations strived to become like them, fighting against the will of “evil rulers”, natural hardships or lack of education.

Putin described the phenomenon that Solzhenitsyn referred to as “racist and neocolonial” in nature. It has assumed “ugly forms” since the period of unipolar domination of the US in the wake of the collapse of the Soviet Union, he added.

Russia warns US and UK of Ukrainian ‘dirty bomb’ plans

He warned that anyone who perceives themselves as “flawless” would be tempted to utterly destroy everyone else, to “cancel them.” Even at the peak of the Cold War, neither the Soviet bloc nor the West had such a dismissive attitude toward its adversaries, Putin said.

The Valdai Discussion Club is an annual international event in Russia conceived as a platform for floating ideas that the host nation considers important to discuss with other global players. The forum was created in 2004.

This year’s meeting comes amid unprecedented tensions between the West and Russia over the crisis in Ukraine. Russia sent troops into the neighboring nation after last year NATO refused to rule out Ukraine’s eventual accession to the bloc, which Moscow called an unacceptable threat to its national security.

The US and its allies declared the military action an act of unprovoked aggression and pledged to pursue Russia’s strategic defeat. They have been arming and funding the Ukrainian government and imposing sanctions against Russia, which has exacerbated the global economic turmoil that arose due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The West has nothing left to offer the world – Putin | RT – Daily news

The “American model” only has the goal of maintaining global dominance, the Russian leader says

The US has nothing left to offer the world – Putin

Liberal democracy has changed beyond recognition and has gone from promoting freedom of speech and expression, to demanding the ‘cancelation’ of anyone with a different point of view, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a speech at the Valdai Discussion Club in Moscow on Thursday.

Speaking about the major changes in the world in recent years, Putin noted that the West has continued its policy of escalating tensions across the globe, and is trying to subjugate the world under its “rules-based order.”

He added that it remains unclear who invented these rules, what they are based on, or what exactly they even are. The only thing that is clear, according to the president, is that the rules are meant to allow those who hold global power to live “without any rules at all,” and allow them to get away with doing whatever they want.

“The West in recent years and especially in recent months has taken a number of steps towards escalation. They always play for escalation; there is nothing new here. This includes the incitement of war in Ukraine, provocations regarding Taiwan, and the destabilization of the world food and energy markets,” he said.

Humanity now basically has two paths it can pursue, Putin stated. It can either be fractured and keep accumulating problems that will eventually bury it, or try to find “not ideal, but working” solutions to common issues.

The president went on to stress the importance of preserving cultural diversity in the world, stating that the West is trying to flatten everything out to be identical and is blocking the “free creative development” of other civilizations and imposing its own style of development.

“Simplification and the erasure of any and all differences have become almost the essence of the modern West. What is behind this simplification? First of all, this is the disappearance of the creative potential of the West itself,” Putin said.

Meanwhile, Russian culture has become a target of “cancel culture,” or “the cancelation of culture,” according to the president, who noted that even during the Cold War, neither the US nor the USSR wished to deny the culture and achievements of the other side.

“Book burnings was something that the Nazis resorted to during their time. Now, the works of Dostoyevsky and Tchaikovsky are being banned by the creators of this liberal society,” Putin said, adding that this “cancelation of culture” mows down everything living and creative.

Nevertheless, he believes that “history will put everything in its place,” and the names Dostoyevsky, Tchaikovsky, and Pushkin will continue to live on, unlike the names of those who today try to dismiss the achievements of Russia’s greatest thinkers, and believe they have the right to dispose of the world’s cultures as they see fit.
