Are frustrations in the White House press corps mounting?

Based on the way in which White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was hounded by a group of reporters over her non-answers regarding President Joe Biden’s son, that certainly appears to be the case.

During Friday’s media briefing, CNN’s Jeremy Diamond asked about Hunter Biden, who made headlines this week with a plea agreement for tax and gun crimes.

“The president invited his son, Hunter, to the state dinner last night,” Diamond began. “I’m wondering if you could take us into the thinking and decision-making of why the president decided to …”

Jean-Pierre cut him off at that point, blurting out that she would not comment on a “personal family discussion.”

Unsatisfied with that response, Diamond pressed Jean-Pierre further.

“If Hunter Biden wasn’t the president’s son, would he have invited someone who had just reached a plea agreement with federal prosecutors to dinner?” he asked.

“Well, a couple of things,” Jean-Pierre said. “Again, that’s his son. It’s a family member. It is not uncommon for family members to attend events at the White House. Look at past presidents. I’m sure you have, so that is not uncommon.

“As it relates to anything related to Hunter, I’m just not going to respond to it from here.”

It was at this point that Jean-Pierre began to lose the press room.

As a different reporter called Diamond’s question “not an unreasonable question to ask” and pressed the press secretary further, you could feel the tension rising in the room.

“I just don’t have anything to share outside of what my colleagues have shared … [I’m] just not going to comment from here,” Jean-Pierre said.

Multiple, unseen voices then peppered her for her lack of a substantive response.

Diamond’s line of questioning prompted three other voices (the reporter who followed up on Diamond’s question, a woman and Steven Nelson of the New York Post) to pile onto the press secretary.

Jean-Pierre soon snapped at the reporters.

“Steven,” she said, visibly perturbed. “Steven, I just answered the question. I just said … I just… It’s not up to you how I answer the question.”

A fifth voice, this time shown to be a female reporter, asked Jean-Pierre to remind the reporters of what her colleague had to say about Hunter Biden’s case.

She stuck with her general evasiveness: “I would refer you to them and they will share their statement.”

As reporter after reporter continued to ask her about the Hunter Biden situation, the press secretary declined to answer.

Senate Report Shows China Company CEFC Sent Over $5 Million to Hunter Biden Related Firms Just Days After “I Am Sitting Here With My Father” Text to Chinese Business Associate

A Senate report from September 2020 titled “Hunter Biden, Burisma, and Corruption: The Impact on U.S. Government Policy and Related Concerns” reports over $5 million was sent to two Hunter Biden related firms by the Chinese firm CEFC in early August 2017, which turns out to be just days after Hunter Biden sent a threatening WhatsApp text message on July 30, 2017 to Chinese business associate Henry Zhao that claimed Hunter’s father Joe Biden was “sitting here” with him.

The WhatsApp message was revealed Thursday as part of a package of IRS whistleblower statements and evidence released by the House Ways and Means Committee.

“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my directions. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”

The Washington Free Beacon reported Friday that photos found on Hunter’s laptop of Hunter sitting in Joe Biden’s Corvette at the Biden family home in Wilmington, Delaware were taken the same day as the WhatsApp text (excerpt):

Photographs on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop place him at his father’s Wilmington, Delaware, residence on the day he invoked President Joe Biden’s name in a text message, threatening his Chinese business partner to come down on him with their full weight if the business partner did not fulfill his “commitment.”

In that message, sent on July 30, 2017, to an official, Henry Zhao, working with a Chinese energy conglomerate CEFC Energy—linked to Chinese military intelligence—Hunter Biden said he was sitting next to his father and that “we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled.”

New York Times reporter Ken Vogel noted the timing of the CEFC payments with the WhatsApp text, “Within 10 days of Hunter Biden’s WhatsApp message to the Chinese official associated with CEFC, a CEFC subsidiary sent 2 payments totaling $5.1M to accounts linked to Hunter, according to records cited in the Senate GOP investigation.”

The Senate report reveals on page 78 (footnotes at source):

On Aug. 4, 2017, CEFC Infrastructure Investment (US) LLC, a subsidiary of Ye Jianming’s CEFC China Energy Company that listed Gongwen Dong as its director, sent Hunter Biden’s law firm, Owasco, a payment for $100,000.375 This transaction was identified for potential criminal financial activity. 376 One of the investment entities of CEFC Infrastructure Investment is reportedly Shanghai Huaxin Group, a Chinese state-owned enterprise “engaged in petroleum products.”377 That company is owned by CEFC Shanghai International Group Ltd., which is controlled by Shanghai Guosheng Group, another state-owned enterprise.378 According to reporting, CEFC Shanghai was a CEFC subsidiary linked to the aforementioned corruption allegations involving the head of the China Development Bank.379 These examples further
illustrate the deep financial connections between Biden, Owasco, and the Chinese government.

On Aug. 8, 2017, CEFC Infrastructure Investment wired $5 million to the bank account for Hudson West III.380 These funds may have originated from a loan issued from the account of a company called Northern International Capital Holdings, a Hong Kong-based investment
company identified at one time as a “substantial shareholder” in CEFC International Limited along with Ye.381 It is unclear whether Hunter Biden was half-owner of Hudson West III at that time. However, starting on Aug. 8, the same day the $5 million was received, and continuing
through Sept. 25, 2018, Hudson West III sent frequent payments to Owasco, Hunter Biden’s firm. 382 These payments, which were described as consulting fees, reached $4,790,375.25 in just over a year.

Zhao, who is a Communist Party official, invested in Hunter’s firm Bohai Harvest RST Equity Investment Fund Management Co., also known as BHR Partners, which the first son cofounded with other Chinese entities in 2013 — 12 days after he joined then-Vice President Biden for a trip aboard Air Force Two to Beijing.

During the trip, Biden met the firm’s CEO, Jonathan Li, in China’s capital. The 80-year-old president has since written college recommendation letters for Li’s children.

Hunter Biden as recently as 2021 held a 10% stake in BHR Partners, which holds nearly $2.2 billion in assets, but the White House has refused to answer questions about his current holdings.

Business records show Hunter remains invested. His attorney, Chris Clark, maintains he sold the funds.

The White House was pressed by reporters at Friday’s briefing on Hunter’s WhatsApp text. John Kirby walked out instead of answering while Karine Jean Pierre stonewalled.

U.S. — After scanning thousands of photographs and cross-referencing facial features with political affiliation, researchers have discovered a bizarre connection between being liberal and have enormous, googly eyes.

“Why? Why do they all look so insane?,” wondered lead researcher Dr. Michael Zorn. “Man, those are googly eyes. These pictures are going to keep me up at night.”

According to sources on the team, the shocking connection became immediately apparent as soon as they began reviewing pictures of liberals. “I honestly screamed when I flipped over the first picture and saw Hillary’s psycho eyes,” said assistant Jamie Reynolds. “I flipped to the next picture and screamed again — it looked like Schiff’s eyes were bulging off the page. Next was the AOC picture, which I still can’t believe is real. We had obviously found something.”

While other facial features showed no association with any political leaning, possessing crazy eyes demonstrated a consistent, strong correlation with being liberal. “The connection is undeniable,” reported Dr. Zorn. “Still, we can only speculate as to which comes first, having the googly eyes or becoming liberal. It’s a real mystery.”

At publishing time, the team had decided to do something far more important for society, like determine if conservative women are hotter than liberal women.

New Poll Shows Nearly Two-Thirds of Californians Thinking About Leaving the State

Respondents reported dissatisfaction with the high cost of living as a primary factor in their desire to move elsewhere, with 40 percent saying they are somewhat or very serious about leaving and another 24 percent saying they are thinking about it, but not too seriously.

Approximately one-third said they were not considering leaving at all, and three percent were not sure.

Issues leading to dissatisfaction included economic uncertainty, expensive housing and living costs, public safety, political polarization, and the state’s education system, according to the survey.

Affordability was the reason 61 percent reported wanting to leave, and 27 percent said the state’s policies and laws that do not reflect their political views are driving them to look elsewhere.

Many have already made the decision to move, with California losing more than 800,000 people—about half the population of Nebraska—after deducting those that moved in over the last three years, according to data released by the state’s finance department.

Winging It: News Weakly – 6/24/23

The Sin of Pride?
At a Pride celebration on the White House lawn, a “transgender influencer” (When did “influencer” become a thing? And doesn’t it warn us of what social media is aiming at?) removed his/her top. He goes by Rose Montoya. Montoya defended the action on Instagram and TikTok and then apologized because of the backlash. I think the most amusing part of this particular story was when they reported “she was within her legal rights to bear her breasts.” Yes, those with breasts should be able to bear them in public … just not bare them.

And We All Know It
Every outlet I looked at had the same story. A pregnant woman was shot and killed by two gunmen in Washington D.C. “and her baby is in critical condition.” It is a tragedy, but why does everyone acknowledge that this unborn child is a baby while denying it elsewhere? Why does “public sentiment” get to define “human being”?

Missing the Point
The story in Business Insider recognizes that Trump allowed a transgender to compete in the 2012 Miss Universe pageant but is now “campaigning to ban trans women from competing in women’s sports.” Obvious contradiction, right? Only if you completely miss the point. Biological males have an inborn advantage in sports that makes it unfair for them to compete with biological women, so many are calling on bans on biological males from competing (unfairly) with women. Biological women have an inborn advantage over biological males in beauty contests, so comparing sports vs beauty contests is apples and oranges. Mind you, the amount of surgery and literally unnatural — against nature — work that has to be done to make a biological male able to compete with a biological female in a female beauty contest seems a bit unfair to me, but my point is that this sports ban isn’t an “anti-transgender ban” — it’s an biological-male-competing-against-biological-female ban. Not the same thing … as demonstrated by the fact that it says nothing about “transgender men” competing with biological men.

Those Crazy Californians
California is at it again. They’re advancing a bill that would require parents to “affirm a child’s gender identity.” It could cost custody and/or visitation amd classify parents that refuse as abusive. “Never mind the science or the permanent damage done to a prepubescent child. We will push this anti-science, irrational agenda in California.” Whatever it takes to remove the rational populace from the state.

Bring Down the Constitution
12-year-old subversive, Liam Morrison, was sent home from school in March for wearing a T-shirt that violated the dress code, making students feel unsafe. The malevolent child’s shirt boldly declared “There are only two genders.” A district court judge ruled against Liam’s 1st Amendment right to free speech in favor of other students’ nonexistent right to not feel uncomfortable. We have our priorities straight now.

Dangerous Liberty
The Southern Poverty Law Center touts itself as “fighting hate” and “seeking justice,” so they like to track “hate groups.” You know, hate groups like “Moms for Liberty,” a group “dedicated to fighting for the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government.” Yeah … parents with rights … what could be more dangerous? Got it. Moms and liberty are right out. No, of course not. It’s just most any conservative group that they classify as “hate.”

Assault Weapon Ban
In New Zealand, an attacker with an axe visited 3 Chinese restaurants sending 3 people to the hospital. Government is calling for better assault weapon control, such as axe registration, background checks, and possibly a total ban on axes. No? If not, why not?

Democratic Religion?
Roman Catholics want the church to promote women into decision-making roles and have a “radical inclusion” of the LGBTQ community (like offering them “fraternal space”). Because, as we all know, churches are defined by their people and not, say, by the God they seek to follow. So Scripture’s idea about women in authority over men is no longer to be considered. And while I think that homosexuals, etc., need what the Church has to offer, I want to be careful not to give them “fraternal space” as if people in direct, intentional, bold contradiction to God’s commands can actually be “brothers in Christ.” What people really want is their own club where they can lay down the rules and God has to follow them because they voted it in.

Eliminate the Opposition
A gay, tenured history professor in California was suspended after bringing chocolate bars to a campus open house. The bars were “he/him” bars containing nuts and “she/her” bars without nuts from Jeremy’s Chocolate. The professor was suspended for “creating a hostile environment” in opposition to diversity and inclusion … which, apparently, is remedied by eliminating his diverse opinion and excluding him. Got it. (I’m wondering. Has anyone ever been disciplined for creating a hostile environment for, say, conservatives or Christians?)

A Lesson in Logical Fallacy
The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) has been defending religious freedom since it was formed in 1994. Now that the Southern Poverty Law Center has deemed it a “hate group,” the media is jumping on the bandwagon and warning everyone — “There be Christians here!” The ACLU regularly attacks 1st and 2nd Amendment rights, but that’s good these days. If it’s Christian, it’s bad. This is, by the way, a classic logical fallacy. “Whatever you do, don’t consider the argument. You need to consider the source!” (The genetic fallacy.)

Over 500 Excess Heart Deaths A Week In England Since COVID-19 Began | ZeroHedge News

Over 500 additional deaths a week involving heart diseases have been recorded in England since the COVID-19 pandemic began, the British Heart Foundation (BHF) has said.

Based on data from the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, the BHF revealed in a report (pdf) that, since February 2020, there has been a total of 96,540 excess deaths involving cardiovascular conditions—an umbrella term for a range of heart and blood vessel conditions including heart attacks and strokes.

BHF Chief Executive Dr. Charmaine Griffiths said, “It is deeply troubling that so many more people with cardiovascular disease have lost their lives over the past three years.”

In the first year of the pandemic, COVID-19 infection drove high numbers of excess deaths involving cardiovascular disease.

While deaths from COVID-19 have since fallen year-on-year, the number of deaths involving cardiovascular disease have remained high above expected levels, said the BHF analysis.

Dr. Sonya Babu-Narayan, associate medical director at the BHF and consultant cardiologist, said: “COVID-19 no longer fully explains the significant numbers of excess deaths involving cardiovascular disease.”

She said there may have been other contributing factors, including the disruptions to the NHS over the past few years.

NHS Disruption

The charity said a major contributing factor has been the “severe, ongoing disruption” to heart care in the NHS.

The number of people waiting for time-sensitive cardiac care was at a record high of nearly 390,000 at the end of April in England, according to NHS England.

Average ambulance response times for heart attacks and strokes have consistently been more than 30 minutes since the beginning of 2022.

There has also been significant disruption to the detection and management of high blood pressure and other conditions that put people at much greater risk of a heart attack or stroke, the charity said.

Dr. Babu-Narayan said: “Long waits for heart care are dangerous—they put someone at increased risk of avoidable hospital admission, disability due to heart failure, and premature death. Yet people are struggling to get potentially life-saving heart treatment when they need it due to a lack of NHS staff and space, despite cardiovascular disease affecting record numbers of people.”

Vaccine Link

The BHF also said that COVID-19 may potentially have caused a rise in heart problems. It cited a separate study as showing that those who caught the infection before the vaccine rollout were five times more likely to die in the 18 months after infection.

Some studies have linked myocardial inflammation to the mRNA vaccines, but the BHF played down the risks posed by vaccines.

It said: “COVID-19 vaccine associated myocarditis has been rare, more common in young men after a second vaccine dose, and fortunately shows a favourable clinical course in the vast majority of those affected.

“Myocarditis can cause heart scarring that can be detected with cardiac MRI—to mitigate the small chance of scarring causing a life-threatening arrhythmia in the future, it is likely that affected individuals will be offered long-term follow-up and monitoring.”

Between December 2020 and February 2023, the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency recorded 72 UK deaths suspected to be related to the COVID-19 vaccine.

‘Not Surprising’

Professor John Greenwood, President of the British Cardiovascular Society, said: “The high numbers of excess cardiovascular disease (CVD) deaths published today are worrying, but unfortunately not surprising. We know that COVID-19 has caused direct (COVID-19 leading to new CVD), indirect (reduced treatment and prevention of CVD) and long-term effects (CVD and Long COVID-19).”

Dr. Griffiths urged the government to “take control of this crisis” by “prioritising NHS heart care, better preventing heart disease and stroke, and powering science to unlock future treatments and cures.”

A government spokesperson said: “We are cutting waiting lists, ambulance response times are falling, staff increasing and we are improving access to blood pressure and health checks.

“We know there is more to do which is why we are consulting on a Major Conditions Strategy to tackle cardiovascular disease—including strokes and diabetes—and we have opened 108 community diagnostic centres that have delivered over 4 million tests, scans, and checks including for those with cardiovascular disease.

“The government is also working with NHS England to combat some of the causes of cardiovascular disease, with schemes to support increased physical activity, reduce obesity rates, and encourage people to stop smoking.”

All bets are off in Russia today as the paramilitary Wagner mercenary militia forces have launched a coup against Vladimir Putin who, by the way, has reportedly boarded his official plane and fled to the relative safety of Saint Petersburg. Russia now has a war on two fronts, Ukraine and Moscow, from two separate enemies. Never a dull moment on the front lines of the end times.

In the third scenario, the Wagner group is repelled and Putin winds up even stronger than he was before. Wow, whatever happens next is going to write a whole new chapter in Russia while advancing the prophecy timeline as it does so.

FROM THE DAILY MAIL UK: Wagner chief Yevgney Prigozhin initiated a military coup against Putin overnight, which has seen the group take key cities and threaten the President, who called them ‘traitors’.

Putin addressed the Russian people on Saturday, warning that the military leader had ‘stabbed him in the back’, as Moscow prepares to enter into lockdown, with troops digging in in preparation to defend the city.

Prigozhin and his feared 25,000-strong Wagner militia took control of the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, saying they are ‘ready to die’ for their ‘march of justice’, and have been heading north in a hundreds-strong convoy of armoured vehicles. The unit passed through the halfway city of Voronezh and have reached as far north as Yelets as they advance on Moscow, seeing negligible resistance.

A message posted on the Wagner Telegram channel on Saturday said: ‘Putin made the wrong choice. All the worse for him. Soon we will have a new president.’

Footage on social media has shown large convoys of troops heading north from Voronezh, thought to be Wagner mercenaries. They are also said to be on their way to other key cities including Krasnodar and Volgograd.

Russia has responded by increasing security in Moscow, mobilising troops who are set to defend against the incursion, and calling for the military to rally around President Putin.

All public events have been cancelled, as Putin called close ally Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko to brief him on the situation.

Pro-Putin forces on the outskirts of the city were meanwhile seen digging in against the Wagner coup army heading towards the capital.
