There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true. —Soren Kierkegaard. "…truth is true even if nobody believes it, and falsehood is false even if everybody believes it. That is why truth does not yield to opinion, fashion, numbers, office, or sincerity–it is simply true and that is the end of it" – Os Guinness, Time for Truth, pg.39. “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” – Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
We all want to be popular. It is part of the way we are wired. We all want people to think highly of us, to throw compliments our way, and to be our friends. The only problem with this desire to be friends with the world is that it often comes at the cost of displeasing our Lord. For we read in (James 4:4): “…Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” And to this thought Evangelist Dwight L. Moody added: “The man that is popular with the world is not a friend of Jesus. You cannot serve two masters. The world hates Christ, and if you are a friend of the world you cannot be a friend of His. You may be sure that something is wrong with you when everybody is your friend.”1
Now don’t get me wrong while we should always be friendly and loving, true love toward the unsaved means telling them the truth about the gospel. And telling someone that they are sinners in danger of eternal damnation will often elicit unpleasant reactions, for the gospel is offensive to most people. My friends, if you want to be popular then just tell people that God loves them, but withhold the part that they are sinners. The problem here is that sharing only half the gospel might make you popular in the eyes of the world but not in the eyes of Jesus because half a gospel is in reality no gospel at all.
In order to be popular in the eyes of the world we have to totally water down the gospel. But when we do this we greatly displease the Lord and in reality demonstrate our lack of love toward those we are sharing with. And this is because true love is willing to risk being unpopular in order to share the truth on spiritual matters. Most people don’t want to hear that they are sinners but unless they recognize their lost sinful state, they may never come to the light of Jesus. True love risks being unpopular by sharing the truth about Jesus.
Our role as Christians is to share the good news of the gospel, to pray for those we share this good news with, and to allow the reality of not being very popular with the world to be trumped with the knowledge that we are pleasing in the sight of our Lord. My friends in our world today truth is becoming less and less popular but in the economy of God standing on the truth is non-negotiable.
Truth tellers will never be popular in the eyes of the world but knowing that Jesus is pleased with us when we stand on His truth is the best way I know of to bring deep and abiding joy to our hearts as well as great rewards in heaven. So, the next time you face unpopularity with the world for standing up for Jesus remember what we read in Scripture: “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Matthew 5:11-12).
He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. (Job 5:19)
Eliphaz in this spoke the truth of God. We may have as many troubles as the workdays of the week, but the God who worked on those six days will work for us till our deliverance is complete. We shall rest with Him and in Him on our Sabbath. The rapid succession of trials is one of the sorest tests of faith. Before we have recovered from one blow it is followed by another and another till we are staggered. Still, the equally quick succession of deliverances is exceedingly cheering. New songs are rung out upon the anvil by the hammer of affliction, till we see in the spiritual world the antitype of “the Harmonious Blacksmith.” Our confidence is that when the Lord makes our trials six, six they will be and no more.
It may be that we have no rest day, for seamen troubles come upon us. What then? “In seven there shall be no evil touch thee.” Evil may roar at us, but it shall be kept at more than arm’s length and shall not even touch us. Its hot breath may distress us, but its little finger cannot be laid upon us.
With our loins girt about us, we will meet the six or the seven troubles and leave fear to those who have no Father, no Savior, and no Sanctifier.
“Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.” Revelation 15:3-4
A lot of people talk about right and wrong these days,..as if they were random or variable things.
If no absolute truth exists, then the powerful determine what justice is.
Isaiah’s words — written thousands of years ago — sound eerily like our current society. “
So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter. Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey” (Isaiah 59:14-15).
Yet, it’s not merely today’s society at large that has a warped view of justice. Too often, Christians doubt God’s justice. Believers read the Old or New Testament passages about God’s wrath and think God acts unfairly.
So, John reminds us in today’s verses from Revelation that all God’s ways are just. God defines and exemplifies righteousness, justice, and truth. All God’s deeds are righteous. Indeed, all creation will worship God because of these attributes.
God can’t act in opposition to his nature. So, it’s impossible for God to do anything unjust. In fact, our internal sense of justice comes from being made in the image of the true and just God. We wouldn’t know what justice meant if God hadn’t revealed it to us.
Therefore, we must approach difficult passages with humility. Our limited knowledge and perspective make it absurd for us to judge God. Instead, by affirming the truth of God’s character and submitting to the Holy Spirit for guidance, we ask God to show us how to correctly view his justice.
Lord God Almighty, you are just and true. Show me how to think and speak and live in a way that reflects that reality. There are so many things that I don’t understand; give me faith to believe that you are who you say you are. Amen.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Have you ever asked yourself, “What has this world come to?”
As I reflect on my upbringing, I remember right and wrong being more black and white, with a few obvious exceptions. In today’s multicultural, multi-faith world, with its ever-evolving values, right and wrong are no longer black and white – they are discouraging and divisive shades of grey. Amidst growing oppression, many believers struggle to discern the grey and live an uncompromised godly life.
Almost daily, culture challenges believers to compromise their traditional values to accommodate social, judicial, and moral reform. In the name of social equality and justice, authorities pressure and punish believers into submission. Jesus warned that we “will have trouble” because His kingdom is counter-cultural. Despite what may be a dilemma, He encourages us to “take heart” because He overcame the world. So how do we triumphantly navigate complex cultural and moral issues without compromising our faith?
In today’s world, believers need an infallible moral compass to ensure they don’t surrender to popular opinion. Respected Pastor, John Piper, concludes, “When justice is divorced from morality, when rights of individuals are separated from right and wrong, the only definition you have left for justice is the right for every individual to do as he pleases…the end of that road is anarchy and barbarism” . In the end, we may not avert social and moral deprivation, but by remaining steadfast, in His name, Word, and peace, we shall surely overcome the world and see His justice prevail.
Dear Heavenly Father, Help me to discern Your voice and will amidst the chaos of an ever changing world. Align my will your Will. Protect me from the lures and snares of this world that attempt to compromise Your Word. May Your Spirit direct, empower, and equip me, strengthening my perseverance and resolve to overcome the world. Amen.
Prayerfully read John 16:33 and 1 John 5:3-5. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you align your values with Scripture. As you pray, write down the insights the Spirit gives you and commit to living by God’s truth daily.

Should the Godless Forces Succeed, this Nation Will Cease to Exist as One Nation Under God As our society embraces ever-growing godlessness and lawlessness, hostility and hatred toward Christians will only intensify. Should the godless forces in culture succeed, this nation will cease to exist as one nation under God. Wherever Christianity flourishes, freedom flowers. Wherever it is marginalized, tyranny, despotism, and eventually anarchy will inevitably follow.

“The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only legitimate object of good government.” —Thomas Jefferson (1809)
The FBI director had multiple opportunities to be candid with the American people yesterday, and he refused at every turn.
Douglas Andrews
If FBI Director Christopher Wray wants to reassure the American people that he isn’t a Democrat stooge and his bureau isn’t a private security force for the same, he sure has a funny way of showing it.
Early on in yesterday’s House Judiciary Committee hearings, he had a chance to shed some much-needed light on the events of January 6 — specifically, the FBI’s involvement that day — but all he did was dodge and dissemble.
“FBI Director Wray just told me he ‘does not believe’ there were any undercover FBI agents in or around the U.S. Capitol on January 6,” said Arizona Republican Andy Biggs. “This claim has been already debunked — including by the former U.S. Capitol Police Chief. Wray will be held accountable for this lie.”
Strong words from Biggs, but he’s certainly right. (California’s Darrell Issa followed up on this line of questioning, with similarly dismal results.) The director’s obfuscation and his lack of candor were both obvious and disappointing to everyone who’d like to know the whole truth about January 6, as opposed to being served up only the patchwork of lies that were trotted out in Nancy Pelosi’s committee’s J6 report.
“I’m not sure there were undercover agents on the scene.”
That’s what the FBI director wants the American people to believe. And it’s a lie. The sworn congressional testimony of FBI whistleblower George Hill and others has already pre-bunked Wray’s claim. Heck, if the matter weren’t so serious and infuriating, we’d make a howler of a joke about how the FBI busted up an FBI terrorism plot. Let’s hope Congressman Biggs and his colleagues really do hold Wray accountable for this repeated falsehood.
Aside from being grilled about his bureau’s involvement on January 6, there were other minefields — other matters concerning the weaponization of government against the citizenry — that awaited the director. These included the bureau’s apparent cover-up of a suspect in the January 6 pipe bomb case; the FBI’s targeting of churchgoing Catholics, whom it shamefully deemed “radical traditional Catholics” in a January 23 memo from the FBI Richmond field office; its targeting of concerned parents at school board meetings; and its heavily armed raid of the home of a peaceful pro-life activist, Mark Houck — which, as Texas Congressman Chip Roy reminded Wray, came “after Mr. Houck’s lawyer reached out and said he would voluntarily appear because the incident in question occurred almost a year earlier, in October of 2021.”
Wray apologized for none of it, not even the Houck outrage. “I’m not going to second-guess the judgment of the career agents on the ground who made the determination,” he said.
The case of the DC pipe bomber is particularly interesting, given that he’s somehow avoided capture for a crime that was committed in the most heavily surveilled area of the most heavily surveilled city in the world. As political analyst Tristan Justice notes: “A whistleblower revealed the agency identified the car used by the prime suspect but refused to track the vehicle down. Both bombs were reportedly inoperable, according to the whistleblower.” When Director Wray refused to talk about the oddities of this case, Kentucky Congressman Brian Massie reminded him that it’s been some 900 days since the bombs were discovered. Why hasn’t the FBI gotten to the bottom of it?
Democrats did their best to defend Wray and his corrupt bureau, with California Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren going as far as to charge the GOP with “engaging in conspiracy theories” to delegitimize the FBI “without any evidence.”
Without any evidence? How many FBI whistleblowers need to come forward before Lofgren sees both the smoke and the fire? Has she not paid any attention to the Twitter Files? Does she not know about Missouri v. Biden and the scathing 155-page opinion of U.S. District Court Judge Terry Doughty about the federal government’s systemic and coordinated censorship?
Another matter that bubbled up yesterday was the FBI’s cooperation with its Ukrainian counterpart, the SBU, to censor so-called “Russian disinformation” — that is, information deemed inconvenient by the Ukrainian government. As veteran political observer Jazz Shaw reports:
If you had any doubts whatsoever about a judge’s order to have the government stop talking to social media platforms, this story should answer the last of your questions. (The Justice Department is fighting the order.) It’s now being reported that the FBI has, over the past year, been working with the SBU — the Ukrainian Security Service, similar to America’s FBI — to shut down the spread of supposed “Russian disinformation.” The method of choice is, as you would guess, to shut down the social media accounts of people or groups critical of the Ukrainian government or the war in Ukraine. And they’ve shut down quite a few of them, including those of American journalists reporting on events in the region.
Clearly, the FBI’s weaponization doesn’t stop at the water’s edge, nor with American citizens.
It seems that the only area of bipartisan agreement was about the bureau’s abuse of the FISA process. There was plenty of agreement on both sides of the aisle about this. Maybe some additional reforms will come out of it.
In perhaps the most side-splitting, spit-taking moment of the session, Florida Republican Matt Gaetz read back the damning transcript of Hunter Biden’s Snapchat message to a Chinese business associate — the one in which he says: “I’m sitting here with my father. I will make certain, that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows, and my ability to forever hold a grudge, that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”
When Wray refused to comment on the smoking-gun transcript of that shakedown, Gaetz remarked that Wray seemed “deeply uncurious … almost suspiciously uncurious” about the exchange. He then asked Wray if he was “protecting the Bidens.”
To which Wray replied: “Absolutely not. The FBI does not, has no interest in protecting anyone politically.”
And if you believe that, you’re either a Democrat or you haven’t been paying attention these past two years. But we repeat ourselves.
“We need changes in the FBI,” said Republican House Judiciary Committee member Mike Johnson to Fox News’s Laura Ingraham, “and if they want to continue to request the funding, for example, for a billion-dollar new headquarters, they have to show us they can respect the constitutional rights of the people they are supposed to serve and protect.”
Asked about the American people’s loss of faith in their government due to the censorship and the targeting due to political affiliation, Johnson said: “Yeah, the people have lost faith in the FBI, because, frankly, they’ve lost count of the number of scandals that have mounted. Just in the last couple of years, they have really and truly weaponized the Department of Justice and the FBI, the premier law enforcement agency in the country.”
Johnson went on to note that a recent poll showed that only 37% of Americans have a favorable opinion of the FBI.
Think about that. There was a time not too long ago when the FBI was held in the same high regard as the American military. Now the bureau is about as popular as Joe Biden. Does Chris Wray even care that he’s presiding over the collapse of this once-proud agency? If he does, he’s got a weird way of showing it. As we’ve noted before, we think he’s simply trying to run out the clock on a lot of these matters, especially the ones that pertain to the Biden Crime Family.
Paula Bolyard at PJ Media sums things up nicely maddeningly: “The detention of J6 protesters. The Russia collusion hoax. The arrest at gunpoint of a Catholic father. The monitoring of parents speaking at school board meetings. The failure to investigate attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers. The corruption runs deep at the FBI.”
Yes it does. And based on yesterday’s performance by Director Chris Wray, we can be confident that not only does the corruption run deep, it runs clear to the top.
Secret Service to brief House on Cocainegate, California Dems block child-trafficking bill, CNN apologizes for using correct pronouns, and more.
Thomas Gallatin & Jordan Candler
Cross-Examination
Secret Service to brief House on Cocainegate today: The Secret Service has moved up a previously planned briefing to the House Oversight and Accountability Committee originally scheduled for July 24 to today. The briefing, in which the Secret Service will update committee members on its investigation into the cocaine found in the White House on July 2, will be held in a sensitive compartment facility with only lawmakers with appropriate clearances allowed to attend. The Secret Service reportedly has no fingerprints and no leads, so why move up the meeting?
California Dems block child-trafficking bill: On Wednesday, the California Assembly Public Safety Committee killed bipartisan state Senate bill SB14 that would have made child trafficking a “serious felony.” With the sex trafficking of minors becoming an increasing problem across the nation and specifically in California, why would Democrats kill this bill? Maybe they don’t see the trafficking of minors as a problem. Well, not all Democrats are in favor of child trafficking, as Governor Gavin Newsom took the unusual step of inserting himself into the debate, even siding with Republicans in calling for the bill’s passage. Newsom is a shrewd politician who is eying a presidential run, and he knows he cannot be seen as indifferent on the issue of child trafficking. But hopefully his stance is more than mere political grandstanding and he is genuinely committed to protecting children from predators.
Montana cuts ties with ALA: On Tuesday, the Montana State Library Commission voted to cut ties with the American Library Association due to the ALA’s current president being an avowed Marxist. The commission voted five to one to disassociate from the ALA, sending a letter announcing the state’s “immediate separation.” The commission explained, “Our oath of office and resulting duty to the Constitution forbids association with an organization led by a Marxist.” Last April, Marxist lesbian Emily Drabinski became president of the ALA, and, wouldn’t you know, “Drag Queen Story Hour” became a growing issue in public libraries across the country. Montana now becomes the first state to officially cut all ties with the ALA. Expect more to follow.
Drop in the population of young kids: So much for a predicted COVID baby boom. Indeed, not only did it not happen, but data is showing that the opposite occurred. As if to make the cause more obvious, blue states that were under lockdowns for the longest period of time are showing the biggest decrease in the population of children under the age of five. Only five states have seen an increase in the number of children under five, and unsurprisingly they are all red states. Overall, this decrease in the number of young children does not bode well for our nation’s future. Children are our future, but too few of them means a more challenging and costly one.
CNN apologizes for using correct pronouns: The Leftmedia cable outfit CNN has once again beclowned itself, this time with a grave apology for accidentally “misgendering” “transgender” activist Dylan Mulvaney — he of Bud Light infamy. CNN issued the groveling on-air apology after receiving blowback from Rainbow Mafia goons like Media Matters’ Ari Drennen. CNN’s Kate Bolduan issued the apology: “CNN aims to honor individuals’ ways of identifying themselves, and we apologize for that error.” Prior to the apology, Drennen shared a clip of CNN correspondent Ryan Young doing a segment on the “culture war” highlighting Bud Light wherein he referred to Mulvaney accurately but accidentally using male pronouns. Drennen called it an “unbelievably bad CNN segment.” No wonder Americans are rejecting mainstream media — clearly upholding a blatantly bogus narrative matters more than speaking truth.
Spanish leader’s fake bike ride: Spain’s top ecology minister, Teresa Ribera, pulled a Pete Buttigieg this week when she showed up to the EU 2023 climate summit on a bike. The truth is she merely hopped on the bike for the last hundred yards after traveling to the conference in a private jet and limo. Ribera has taken deserved criticism for her PR stunt, with one Twitter user observing, “Teresa Ribera’s thing about making you arrive by bicycle at a climate summit, traveling just a hundred meters, escorted by two armored gasoline cars is another of the images that perfectly define this government.” As Rush Limbaugh famously characterized the Left, “symbolism over substance.”

The definition of corruption, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is “dishonest or illegal behavior especially by powerful people (such as government officials or police officers).”
Corruption has been the charge that Democrats have been trying to hang around the necks of Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas. Both conservative justices are accused of having rich friends who agree with them politically. Thanks to the leftist activists at ProPublica, Thomas’s friendships were dragged before a Senate ethics committee, and Alito went on the offensive in The Wall Street Journal to defend his association with his friend.
This patently transparent attempt by the radical Left to destabilize the Supreme Court is relentless and also pretty hypocritical. As Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) described the Democrats’ actions: “This is all just a thuggish shakedown. Nice Supreme Court you’ve got there America, sure would be a shame if something happened to it.”
The ultimate goal of the radical leftists is to pack the Supreme Court. To do that, they need to sway public opinion against the integrity of the Court by attacking the reliably conservative justices.
Ironically, there is a justice who is lacking in integrity. It’s just not Alito or Thomas.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor is pushing her books on libraries and colleges whenever she has a speaking engagement. She is also using her staff to help. Just to be clear, this sort of activity would be an ethics violation in any other branch of government.
Thomas’s and Alito’s trips with their friends happened years ago and didn’t run afoul of the rules. Sotomayor’s book-selling racket is recent and frequent in occurrence. The Associated Press has several examples, including a 2019 email to Multnomah County Library from Sotomayor’s staffer Anh Le:
For an event with 1,000 people and they have to have a copy of Just Ask to get into the line, 250 books is definitely not enough. Families purchase multiples and people will be upset if they are unable to get in line because the book required is sold out.
Through this practice of using her influence and name to sell her books at speaking events (on top of getting paid to speak, we might add), she has earned $3.7 million. When you consider that her yearly salary is $285,400, that’s quite a pay raise. Another interesting aspect is that there are several forms of additional income that are restricted to $30,000 a year for the justices. Book selling just happens to be a loophole in the restrictions.
Sotomayor’s actions are destabilizing to the Court because she is promoting herself over the institution that she is currently serving. As former federal appeals judge J. Michael Luttig said: “I have never believed that Supreme Court justices should write books to supplement their judicial incomes. The potential for promotion of the individual justices over the Court at the reputational expense of the Court as an institution, as well as the appearance of such, is unavoidable.”
Like Alito and Thomas, Sotomayor’s capitalist venture is not a rules violation. However, unlike Alito and Thomas, Sotomayor is actually misusing taxpayer dollars. Her staff is being paid by taxpayers to organize these events for her and convince libraries and colleges to buy her books.
We return to the definition of corruption. Who fits that definition more closely: the conservative justices with wealthy friends, or the left-wing justice using her staff to hawk her books?
The sight of one of America’s most powerful Cabinet members groveling before her counterpart in one of the world’s most evil empires was enough to sicken anyone.
Tony Perkins
Nothing sums up the Biden administration better than the video of Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen prostrating herself before the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Sunday. The sight of one of America’s most powerful Cabinet members groveling before her counterpart in one of the world’s most evil empires was enough to sicken anyone. The moment was so appalling that even the media’s backlash was swift.
“The sight of Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen bowing and scraping before Chinese officials was just an awful sight,” Fox Business’s Larry Kudlow complained. Journalist Tom Elliott insisted that her bowing “is an embarrassment to every non-communist American.”
For Republicans, it was the living embodiment of Biden’s foreign policy weakness. Yellen, who bowed so much she looked like a political bobblehead, outraged patriots like Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), who said her subservience was “emblematic of this administration.” “What country does Secretary Yellen work for??” Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) demanded to know.
Imagine the fragility this projects, Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) fired back in a Twitter video. “We need to send a message that we, the United States of America, are strong. That we’re resolute. That we are the global superpower, and we will not let the Chinese Communist Party displace us.”
If America’s own leaders don’t recognize our nation’s sovereignty and standing on the world stage, it not only jeopardizes our foreign policy and national security, it also endangers the lives of the vulnerable. To the citizens of this country, Biden’s timidity on the international scene is horrifying — but to the believers and religious minorities around the world who rely on the United States’ advocacy, it’s deadly.
Displays like Yellen’s don’t simply undermine American interests, they embolden repressive governments like China’s. Which of our enemies could possibly take us seriously when our country cowers in the face of their tyranny? How can we possibly stop Xi Jinping’s genocide when we can’t even look his officials in the eye?
Thanks to GOP leaders, the new Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party is pulling back the curtain on some of the CCP’s worst barbarism. As recently as Wednesday, Chairman Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.) hosted a group of interfaith leaders to highlight the brutal persecution in China. I had the opportunity to testify about the threat China poses to religious freedom alongside Ambassador Sam Brownback, Mayflower Church Pastor Pan Yongguang, Bob Fu, and several members of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), which I chaired.
As I and so many witnesses attested, China’s horrifying treatment of Christians and other minorities continues to grow more nightmarish in scope. There’s the ghoulish trafficking of human body parts, a black market built on the violent removal of organs from the CCP’s youngest prisoners, often without anesthesia. Between 2.5 and 5% of 28-year-olds in China’s concentration camps “disappear” every year from this form of execution, Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) has warned. We’re talking about “100,000 people per year,” he explains, “and that number is going up.” “[They] take their organs — two to three per person. It is barbaric. It is Nazi-like. It’s going on right now. And they target the healthiest people, who happen to be religious people [because] they have an extreme prejudice against them.”
During my time on USCIRF, the stories would send chills down even the most stoic spines. Routinely, witnesses say, doctors would be paged in the middle of the night to come to their hospitals. New truckloads of dissidents would have arrived — Falun Gong, usually, but sometimes Uyghurs or Christians. Annie, who escaped to the U.S., talked about her surgeon husband, who used to wake up screaming from the things he’d been asked to do to living, breathing people. “He told me, ‘You have no idea of my agony. It would be okay if we removed organs from dead bodies, but these people were truly alive.’” She estimates he forcibly removed over 2,000 corneas alone.
The most excruciating forms of torture are still happening behind barbed wire walls that Beijing has tried to hide. Thousands of internal documents reveal a rigid system of “absolutely no mercy” that harrowing eyewitness accounts and testimonies confirm. And for the millions of people trapped inside their network of camps, the only hope they have to escape their tormentors is international attention and pressure.
Those savage tactics are an open secret now, thanks to whistleblowers like Jiang, who shudders to think of what he saw as a police detective. Every night, he told CNN, his teams — armed with assault rifles — would fan out, knocking on the doors of Uyghurs. “We took [them] all forcibly overnight,” he explained. “… It’s all planned, it all has a system.” Handcuffed and hooded, they’d be taken to headquarters, where police would “kick them, beat them [until they’re] bruised and swollen… Until they kneel on the floor crying.” The policemen, one survivor explained, would take the pretty girls away with them, raping them until they couldn’t sit down. Young men would be sodomized, repeatedly. Everyone new was pummelled, Jiang said somberly, even teenagers.
Those fortunate enough to evade China’s torture chambers live in a state of constant fear, as the government destroys house churches in raids and nationwide crackdowns. This month, news broke that churches in the Zhejiang Province have been ordered to display signs “declaring their love for the Communist party” if they want to stay open.
Elsewhere, congregations are subjected to CCTV monitors, where secret police can monitor every word. As Open Doors explains, a lot of house churches have simply stopped meeting or split into smaller, more clandestine groups.
Outside the church, the faithful also suffer under China’s infamous social credit score, which blocks dissidents and nonconformists from everyday transactions; low scores have barred 23 million Chinese from traveling.
This is the reality of the Chinese Communist Party — the same bloodthirsty empire this White House is showing deference to in public.
American leaders should do nothing that suggests we honor a regime that sees human rights as an impediment to political power and control. The Biden administration should not be kowtowing to China — they should be holding them accountable for their systematic and egregious violations of fundamental human rights, chief among them religious freedom.

Zelensky wants in, but that would only make matters worse.

The 500th day since Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Russia’s neighbor Ukraine passed last week with a potential end of the war seemingly nowhere in sight. Though the world expected the Ukrainians to quickly fold under the Russian war machine, they have done anything but. Indeed, they have proven themselves at worst to be the equals of the Russians, and with the aide of military equipment from the West, even capable of eventually ousting the invaders.
This surprising Ukrainian resolve is mirrored in their leader, President Volodymyr Zelensky. Just how much of the Ukrainians’ determined resistance can be credited to Zelensky may be impossible to calculate, but one thing’s for certain — the man has never wavered.
But the facts on the ground don’t simply change due solely to determination and courage. The longer this war drags on, the less likely Ukraine comes out of it whole. For all the help from western Europe and the U.S., the sheer difference in the size of the two combatants makes the prospect of a Ukrainian victory improbable. Despite his confident rhetoric, Zelensky knows this. He knows that without things changing, this slow war of attrition will drain Ukraine of her resources faster than Russia.
That explains Zelensky’s repeated request for his country to be admitted into NATO. It’s not as if NATO isn’t expanding; with Turkey’s recent acquiescence, NATO just gave Sweden the green light to enter the alliance. Finland joined a few months ago. From Zelensky’s perspective, neither Sweden nor Finland would be seeking NATO membership had it not been for Ukraine.
It’s hard not to sympathize with Zelensky, who is seeking to engage any outside alliances to help save his country. A clearly frustrated Zelensky recently blasted NATO members for their foot-dragging over any potential future membership offer. In a social media post, the Ukrainian president called it “unprecedented and absurd” to deny Ukraine’s membership. “Vague wording about ‘conditions’ is added even for inviting Ukraine,” he complained. “It seems there is no readiness to invite Ukraine to NATO or to make it a member of the alliance.”
However sympathetic some may be to Zelensky’s plea, NATO is right to reject it. The obvious logic is that NATO nations allowing Ukraine into the alliance would immediately and rightly be viewed as a declaration of war against Russia. The whole purpose of NATO is for all member nations to be obliged and ready to defend any other member from a foreign enemy. Many of the NATO nations have thus far effectively done all that they can via military aide and supplies.
Second, Ukraine’s entrance into NATO would actually serve to benefit Putin, as he’d use it as proof positive of his warnings that an expansion of NATO represents an existential threat to Russia. Talk about a massive rallying opportunity for Putin. Beyond that, some are deeply concerned that Putin would engage his nuclear arsenal if NATO entered the war.
Third, as Zelensky acknowledged to NATO: “We understand some [of our partners] are afraid of talking about our membership now. Nobody wants a world war.” Yes, the prospect of NATO entering the war would almost inevitably ignite a world war. Russia is not waging this war alone. How quickly would China take advantage of such a move to take Taiwan? Indeed, it would have the perfect excuse to do so.
While it is true that the U.S. and much of NATO are effectively engaged in funding an increasingly expensive proxy war against Russia, at least American soldiers aren’t over there dying. If peace is the desired end, then NATO membership for Ukraine is the wrong answer.
The Left’s favorite bogeyman is arguably white supremacy, and Alabama’s senator found himself besieged by questions about it.
Nate Jackson
Decades ago, leftists decided that Nazis were so universally reviled that the best way to discredit conservatives was to falsely assert that Nazis were right-wingers simply because the 20th century’s most famous fascists tended to be racist and nationalist. Of course, claiming that the National Socialist German Workers Party was on the Right is a lie big enough to make Joseph Goebbels blush. Unfortunately, thanks to public school indoctrination, it has mostly worked.
Which brings us to Alabama Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville and the gross smears he has faced in recent weeks.
As our Thomas Gallatin explained yesterday, “Tuberville has drawn a line in the sand, withholding his vote on all Pentagon appointments, which require a unanimous vote in order to avoid a time-consuming individual vote, until the Biden administration reverses course on its abortion rule” for the VA. The fight is over Joe Biden violating the law with taxpayer-funded abortions, but also what the Left is doing to undermine the U.S. Armed Forces.
Leftists are so rabidly pro-abortion that something had to be done. That something was to paint Tuberville as a racist fan of all those white nationalists supposedly overrunning the military.
In a May interview with NPR’s Alabama affiliate, Tuberville was asked about his blocking of nominations. He responded by criticizing the “woke ideas” infiltrating the military and then brought up the Pentagon’s effort to root out “the white extremists, the white nationalists” from the ranks. (Back in February 2021, the nation’s first black secretary of defense, Lloyd Austin, decided that the Left’s bogeyman of white supremacy was the most pressing issue facing the military.)
Tuberville was right to slam the commander-in-chief and the Pentagon for this, but unfortunately the former Auburn University football coach didn’t see the blitz coming and got sacked.
His interviewer, clearly a linebacker for Team Biden, asked, “Do you believe they should allow white nationalists in the military?”
The appropriate answer would have been to laugh hysterically in the reporter’s face, reiterate that white supremacism/nationalism is a ridiculous leftist smear aimed at anyone to the right of Karl Marx, and move on to reiterate his points about how the Left is ruining the U.S. military.
Unfortunately, that’s not what Tuberville did. “Well, they [Pentagon personnel] call them that,” he began. “I call them Americans.” He proceeded to defend the people at the Capitol on January 6, which wasn’t really relevant, calling them “true Americans that believe in this country.” The interview transcript thus contains a number of the kinds of “fact-checks” Democrats never face.
Speaking of that double standard, why are Democrats never asked to justify or defend the rioters of Black Lives Matter, who by the way today mark 10 years of what the Associated Press chummily calls “activism”? Why are Democrats never asked to explain why thousands of blacks kill thousands of other blacks in Democrat-run cities with Democrat prosecutors who don’t punish criminals? Why has that gotten so much worse since Democrats made a martyr of George Floyd, complete with a melodramatic kneeling ritual while wearing slave-trader garb?
Heck, Democrats aren’t even asked about it when a “white nationalist” mass murderer is actually a leftist ecofascist who wants population control to save the planet from climate change.
Instead, the maddening situation we face is that Joe Biden launched his successful presidential campaign predicated on the Charlottesville lie that Donald Trump called white nationalists “very fine people.” Trump did no such thing. Nevertheless, ever since, President Unity™ has proceeded to divide Americans by race — once in front of a Nazi-like backdrop, no less.
Tuberville found himself in the same boat as Trump — falsely accused based on bumbling words.
Finally on Tuesday, Tuberville managed to say, “White nationalists are racists.”
The headlines gleefully blared that Tuberville “relents” and “begrudgingly admits” that white nationalists are racists. Naturally, appeals to the Southern Poverty Law Center soon followed without so much as a hint that its a far-left race-baiting organization. The SPLC, of course, lumps in parents concerned about school curriculum with a handful of actual white nationalists because the SPLC wouldn’t be able to raise all that money if its sleuths couldn’t keep finding (only white) racists under every rock and branch.
Reporters have incessantly hectored Tuberville and his colleagues over a ginned-up plague, but the real point is that a lot of people are labeled white nationalists when they’re nothing of the sort. That Tuberville fumbled this whole exchange is exactly why Leftmedia reporters will keep attacking every Republican with such stupid questions.
While the Leftmedia brownshirts chase down and harangue every Republican they can find, Democrats get away with slandering half of Americans as “deplorables” and telling blacks “you ain’t black” unless you vote Democrat.

As we gaze upon the sprawling panorama of modern culture, we’re struck by a blinding constellation of unchecked desires and self-absorbed pursuits, illuminating the night sky of human morality. This present era, in its rush to drape itself in the gilded cloak of progress, seems to have lost itself in an intoxicating dance with hedonism, each step echoing with the rhythm of self-gratification.
Its flamboyant twirls celebrate personal pleasures and fleeting passions while dismissing age-old virtues of restraint and selflessness as antiquated relics of a bygone era. What we witness today is an ever-burgeoning festival of ego, where the needs of the “I” are celebrated, and the desires of the “self” relentlessly pursued, leaving in its wake a profound question—how far can this self-centered waltz whirl us away from the foundations of shared values and communal harmony?
The exploration of Romans 1:24-25 rips away the veil of ambiguity, revealing a stark contrast between the sanctity of the Creator and the improprieties begotten from our earthly inclinations. This passage serves as an arresting stop sign and a somber mirror reflecting our collective moral degradation—particularly in Western civilization.
The end goal in both cases is to develop the technological foundation to track and trace every person and object on the planet in order to incentivize, coerce, or otherwise manipulate individual human behavior.

Jamie Dimon sees far greater threats than recession, and the potential for more banking turmoil.
The JPMorgan CEO is skeptical of the work-from-home trend, and says America shouldn’t fear China.
Here are Dimon’s 12 best quotes from a new interview.
Jamie Dimon flagged the risk of further banking turmoil, warned there are much graver threats today than a possible US recession, and urged America not to be cowed by China, in an interview with The Economist released this week.
JPMorgan’s billionaire CEO also pushed back against rumours he might run for president, cast doubt on the working-from-home boom, and shared what he’d like his legacy to be.
Here are Dimon’s 12 best quotes, lightly edited for length and clarity:
1. “We all want to be in a position where banks can fail and the world doesn’t go down the tubes.”
2. “There was a problem in plain sight, which was some interest-rate exposure, some of these uninsured deposits that ran like a flock of birds. It’s over for now, most of it’s been handled. If rates go up from here, and they might, it could rear its ugly head again.” (Dimon was discussing the banking chaos sparked by Silicon Valley Bank’s collapse earlier this year.)
3. “Consumers have money, they have $1 trillion more in their checking accounts. It’s been coming down, and we think sometime around the end of the year that excess money will be spent. Even if we go into recession, consumer’s in great shape, businesses are in pretty good shape.” (Dimon noted that many Americans have benefited from wage growth and more than a decade of rising stock prices and home values.)
4. “I’m much more worried about some of these other serious things getting worse: the war in Ukraine spreading out, nuclear blackmail; if food doesn’t get delivered, starvation in Africa. All these things may mitigate and go away, and we’ll all breathe a deep sigh of relief. I wouldn’t count on that.”
5. “I can’t get past the notion that we’ve never had it before. We’ve never had quantitative easing like this before, we’ve never had quantitative tightening before. I think the effects on that in the market may be more serious than other people think.”
6. “We’ve done a terrible job on immigration, taxation, mortgages, affordable housing, healthcare. Obesity, diabetes — teaching kids that at school.” (Dimon was laying out why the US economy has grown by less than 2% a year over the last two decades or so, instead of 3%.)
7. “We should be looking at our own flaws and not always blaming other people. The Chinese are not 10-feet tall. The notion that somehow America has to be that afraid of China — they don’t.” (Dimon underscored China’s reliance on food and oil imports, lower GDP per capita, and inferior military compared to the US.)
8. “I would worry about another Trump presidency too by the way.”
9. “I’ve never really believed I’m suited for it. I also think if you’re going to do that, you should practice. You don’t just say, ‘Oh I’m going to run for office.'” (Dimon was asked about his political ambitions.)
10. “It doesn’t work for younger kids in apprenticeships. It doesn’t really work for creativity and spontaneity. It doesn’t really work for management teams. There are real flaws. To the extent it works, I’m okay with it. If it doesn’t work, I don’t mind getting rid of it. We’re not going to make that decision because we’re pandering to employees — that is not the way to build a great company. So count me as a skeptic.” (Dimon was sharing his view on working from home.)
11. “I completely understand why someone doesn’t want to commute an hour and a half every day, totally got it. Doesn’t mean they have to have a job here either.”
12. “All I ever cared about my legacy is that people say we’re gonna miss the son of a bitch, and he made the world a better place while he was here. ”

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a speech given this week, Vice President and Artificial Intelligence Czar Kamala Harris proudly announced that after months of dedicated research and extensive study, she has determined what the initials A.I. stand for.
“This discovery is the result of intense research,” Harris said to the media. “It is with great pride that I am here to let the world know that the letters ‘A.I.’ actually stand for ‘Artificial Intelligence.’ At no point in the history of A.I. has this secret been known. I have gained this knowledge and now know this knowledge. Because after you gain knowledge, you then know it. This is how knowledge works. HA HA HA HA HA HA HE HE HE HE HA HA!”
Experts applauded Harris for uncovering the long-unknown secret. “All this time, I was wondering what it was I was an expert in,” said A.I. Expert Professor Blake Rumsey at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology A.I. Lab. “The Vice President must have access to the most brilliant scientific minds in the world. It’s wonderful to have such an intellectual powerhouse at the highest levels of our government. Thanks, Kamala!”
Harris maintained the importance of her discovery. “There is intelligence that is artificial, and intelligence that is actual,” she explained. “There is also actual artificial intelligence, which in this case would be ‘A.A.I.’ which I will now be learning about so that I may, in fact, know that knowledge.”
At publishing time, Harris was reportedly telling her aides that her next task was to learn what the definitions of the words “artificial” and “intelligence” are.
General Florg of the planet Graxon V has visited Earth – but he’s having trouble understanding humans as he’s never encountered a species with so many genders.
Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday actually explained to a group of labor and civil rights leaders — you know, adults — that AI is “kind of a fancy thing,” has “two letters,” and “means artificial intelligence.”
Harris’ address during a roundtable at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington, D.C., ultimately became her “latest word salad gaffe,” Fox News reported.
What are the details?
In a video of her address, Harris began by saying, “I think the first part of this issue that should be articulated is AI is kind of a fancy thing. First of all, it’s two letters. It means artificial intelligence, but ultimately what it is, is it’s about machine learning.”
Watch Kamala Harris talk to grown men like they’re KIDS! youtu.be
Continuing with her AI address — remember, kids, those two letters stand for “artificial intelligence” — Harris began whipping up another one of her famous word salads: “And so, the machine is taught. And part of the issue here is what information is going into the machine that will then determine — and we can predict then, if we think about what information is going in, what then will be produced in terms of decisions and opinions that may be made through that process.”
Unfortunately, Harris — who was tasked a few months back to lead an effort to “promote responsible AI innovation” — continued in another part of the clip with this:
So, to reduce it down to its most simple point, this is part of the issue that we have here is thinking about what is going into a decision, and then whether that decision is actually legitimate and reflective of the needs and the life experiences of all the people. And therefore a big part of what we will also discuss then is the transparency in terms of the processes through which AI actually is having an impact on decisions: Do we understand the technology? Do we know what is going into the decisions that are being made? So, this is a very multifaceted issue and topic, and we also know that this is technology that is rapidly developing, and so part of the common purpose that we have is a sense of urgency that we get in front of this issue in terms of understanding the implications, so that we can work as a community of folks — private sector, public sector, nonprofits, government — to do what is in the best interests of the health and safety and well being of the people of our country. And ultimately, that’s how I think about this.
Mockery ensues
As you might guess, there was plenty of mockery for Harris’ address. Here are a few examples:
“Kamala Harris talks to Americans like we are all in kindergarten,” OutKick’s Clay Travis said in a tweet with video of her address. “Here she explains AI.”
“Kamala Harris sounds like she had a report due on AI, but absolutely didn’t read the book,” comedian Tim Young said. “It’s absolutely impossible to believe that this person made it through law school, was able to pass the bar, and was the AG of a state.”
“STUNNING INSIGHTS from Kamala Harris,” conservative communicator Steve Guest tweeted.
(Post Millennial) Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson dropped a massive bombshell during his recent guest appearance on the Stay Free podcast, telling show host Russell Brand that the crowd outside of the US Capitol at the time when riots took place on Jan. 6, 2021 was “filled with federal agents.”
American journalist Tim Pool discussed the revelation on Friday’s episode of Timcast IRL, noting that Carlson conducted an interview with former US Capitol Police Steven Sund, who was fired by then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi just after the Capitol riots.
In a clip of his appearance with Brand, Carlson recounted, “I never thought there was a false flag or anything like that, I’m not a conspiracist by temperament. I never thought that.” View article →
