There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true. —Soren Kierkegaard. "…truth is true even if nobody believes it, and falsehood is false even if everybody believes it. That is why truth does not yield to opinion, fashion, numbers, office, or sincerity–it is simply true and that is the end of it" – Os Guinness, Time for Truth, pg.39. “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” – Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
And I will strengthen them in the Lord: and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the Lord. (Zechariah 10:12)
A solace for sick saints. They have grown faint, and they fear that they shall never rise from the bed of doubt and fear; but the Great Physician can both remove the disease and take away the weakness which has come of it. He will strengthen the feeble. This He will do in the best possible way, for it shall be “in Jehovah. ” Our strength is far better in God than in self. In the Lord it causes fellowship, in ourselves it would create pride. In ourselves it would be sadly limited, but in God it knows no bound.
When strength is given, the believer uses it. He walks up and down in the name of the Lord. What an enjoyment it is to walk abroad after illness, and what a delight to be strong in the Lord after a season of prostration! The Lord gives His people liberty to walk up and down and an inward leisure to exercise that liberty. He makes gentlemen of us: we are not slaves who know no rest and see no sights, but we are free to travel at our ease throughout Immanuel’s land.
Come, my heart, be thou no more sick and sorry; Jesus bids thee be strong and walk with God in holy contemplation. Obey His word of love.
“The tongue has the power of life and death.” Proverbs 18:21 (NIV)
My eldest will be going into Grade one this year. For nearly six years we have been speaking into her young life and heart. Sometimes I am encouraged by the fruit; sometimes humanly disheartened. I am reminded and challenged to speak words that belong to a category of blessing. They are words of acceptance, affection, appreciation, approval and attention.
In the same way, we can use our words “and our looks” to curse. These words are: degrading, derisive, derogatory, destructive, displeasing and disapproving.
There is so much power in our tongue. We can shape and build lives with words that strengthen and give life. Or we can choose to hurt and harden the hearts of those around us.
Today let’s ask God that the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in His sight.
Prayer:
Father, please help me to use my words to build up, strengthen, encourage and ultimately bless. Help me not to break down what You are intending to shape in the lives of those around me. Amen.
“Pick your fights.” “Don’t sweat over the little things.” “Sometimes you have to lose a battle to win the war.”
People seem to love to debate. (Others would call it argue!) There are times when one thinks they’ve won an argument but still wind up the loser in the end. The loss comes from not watching the tongue.

My prayer for us this week:
“Heavenly Father, we flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on You out of a pure heart. We will not have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because we know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. In Jesus name amen.” 2 Timothy 2:22-26

As he ought to be contemplating retirement after a second freeze episode, we ponder why no one likes him.
Nate Jackson
Mitch McConnell first won election to the U.S. Senate in 1984 — the year of Ronald Reagan’s “Morning in America” landslide reelection victory. That was nearly 39 years ago, and the now-81-year-old McConnell doesn’t seem well at all.
Yesterday, the senator totally froze during a press conference, and it was the second such episode in the last month.
Our first thought was that he and his staff need to be more transparent. The senator suffered a concussion earlier this year after a fall, but he and they keep insisting he’s just fine. Clearly he’s not. It’s telling that his staff seemed to have a plan in place should he stop speaking and stare off into space again.
Ironically, McConnell was asked about “running for reelection” when he completely froze. When the reporter repeated his question, McConnell said, “Oh,” chuckled, and continued, “That’s uh…” before just standing there silently staring.
Eight seconds later, his aide stepped in to ask him, “Did you hear the question, senator?” After another eight seconds of silence from McConnell, she said to reporters, “I’m sorry, you all, we’re going to need a minute,” and she tried to move him away from the podium he still stubbornly gripped. She and another aide spoke softly to him for another agonizing 22 seconds before she finally asked reporters if anyone else had another question. “Please speak up,” she added, as if she’d rehearsed that very thing.
That was gaslighting. The questions were asked plenty loud enough and everyone knows McConnell didn’t freeze because he didn’t hear.
We already wrote in July about the problem with geriatric politicians who just can’t seem to figure out when to hang up the boxing gloves, so we won’t repeat that here. If our first thought was about transparency, our second one was about McConnell gracefully bowing out in retirement — at least as Republican leader — before this happens yet again. If Dementia Joe’s gotta go, then so does Silent Mitch.
Which brings us to our third thought. Why does everyone hate Mitch McConnell?
In last week’s GOP presidential debate, Nikki Haley, who impressed a lot of people with her overall performance, asserted that Donald Trump is “the most disliked politician in all of America,” and therefore Republican voters should choose someone else who can win the general election.
She quickly got fact-checked because polls say the most disliked politician in America is actually Senator McConnell, and it’s not even close. Why is that?
Well, there are a lot of reasons. He’s been the GOP Senate leader for a record 16 years, and almost by definition that means he’s responsible for a great many “deals” and “compromises” on swamp legislation that conservative voters absolutely and rightly loathe. Of course, Democrats also hate his guts no matter how much he helps their objectives. Ergo, he’s widely disliked. (Democrats don’t turn on their own like Republicans do, by the way.)
Especially last year, McConnell seems to have gotten rolled on some key Democrat priorities like the “infrastructure” bill and the Inflation Reduction Act. The American Conservative Union gave him a 56 out of 100 last year — his lowest rating ever. Once upon a time, he had a lifetime ACU rating of 90.
Almost worse has been his support for Senate “Republicans” like Lisa Murkowski while throwing other GOP candidates under the bus. By doing so, he contributed to costing Republicans control of the Senate in last year’s election. At the time, that was enough for us to say “Mitch McConnell’s got to go.”
Perhaps most damning for McConnell in today’s Republican Party is his dislike for Trump. The former president has been indicted and will stand trial the day before Super Tuesday for his role in the January 6 riot. That’s as preposterous as the Democrats’ impeachment of the president for “inciting insurrection.” McConnell wasn’t one of the handful of Senate Republicans to vote for conviction, but he did assert that Trump was “practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of that day.”
MAGA Republicans will never forgive him for that, just as they’ll never forgive Mike Pence or anyone else who got on Trump’s bad side. Loyalty to a man, not to conservative principles, is now what determines whether a politician is a RINO (Republican in Name Only).
But there’s a glaring irony here: Without Mitch McConnell, Donald Trump would never have been president.
When the late great Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia died in February 2016, Barack Obama was still president. Yet McConnell took the incredibly bold but clearly constitutional stance that the Senate would not even conduct hearings for Obama’s nominee, Merrick Garland.
Instead, filling Scalia’s seat would be up to the next president and the next Senate. Better obstruction than destruction, we argued at the time.
It was a gutsy gamble, and it paid off. Many conservatives would not have voted for Trump had it not been for the Supreme Court.
The rest is history — Trump nominated and the McConnell-led Senate confirmed not one but three conservative Supreme Court justices, and hundreds of lower-court judges. The victories for Liberty are already well documented and many more are certain to come. Conservatives owe both men a debt of gratitude, even if Trump and McConnell can’t stand each other and most voters can’t stand either one of them.
Immediately after the racially motivated murder of three blacks in Florida, the racially motivated media began tearing into the Florida governor.
Douglas Andrews
Let this be a lesson to Republicans: Ron DeSantis did everything right, and still they smeared him.
On Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville, Florida, a sick individual carried out a racially motivated shooting spree at a Dollar General store, murdering three people before turning the weapon on himself. The cold-blooded killer was a white male, and his three victims were black. Moreover, reports Fox News, Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters “said the shooter had authored ‘several manifestos,’ with one to his parents, another to media, and a separate one to federal agents, adding that portions described the suspect’s ‘disgusting ideology of hate.’”
Immediately upon learning all this, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis suspended his presidential campaign and sprang into action. No, he didn’t fumble and dodder and take a vacation and say “No comment” like Joe Biden. As National Review reports, DeSantis did everything a good leader does:
He recorded that the shooter, whom he called a “racially motivated” “scumbag” and a “coward,” had been “targeting people based on their race.” He confirmed that the killer had penned a “manifesto.” He made it clear such behavior was — and would always be — “totally unacceptable.” Next, DeSantis announced plans to suspend his presidential campaign and return to Florida, he pledged funds to protect a historically black college in North Florida, and he resolved to visit the community where it had happened — despite activists’ promises to shout him down if he did.
And yet for all this, for doing everything right, the mainstream media still insinuated that he’s somehow responsible for the deranged killer’s actions.
Check out this headline of NBC News’s coverage of the shooting: “Florida Black community’s anger at Ron DeSantis spills out after the racist Jacksonville shooting.”
And the subhead: “State Sen. Shevrin Jones, a Black Democrat from Miami, told NBC News, ‘How much can we allow the governor to keep his foot on our neck and not say anything?’”
And the first paragraph: “Ron DeSantis’ policies toward the Black community are coming under fresh scrutiny after an avowed racist gunman killed three Black people over the weekend at a Jacksonville Dollar General store, an attack the Justice Department is investigating as a hate crime.”
Furthermore, DeSantis was “loudly booed” when he attended and spoke at a Sunday evening vigil near the Dollar General store. As the AP helpfully reminds us, DeSantis “has loosened gun laws in Florida and … has antagonized civil rights leaders by deriding ‘wokeness.’”
Check out this sneering tweet from the AP’s Steve Peoples: “Ron DeSantis scoffed when the NAACP issued a travel advisory this spring warning Black people to use ‘extreme care’ if traveling to Florida. Just three months later, DeSantis is leading his state through the aftermath of a racist attack that left three African Americans dead. Black leaders in Florida — and across the nation — say they’re outraged by his actions and rhetoric ahead of the shooting.”
A bit of perspective here: Florida is a state of nearly 22 million people. The murder of three blacks by a racially motivated white man is indeed an awful, horrible thing, but it isn’t tantamount to a white-on-black killing field. And yet in Chicago’s South Side, which has a population of roughly 220,000, there have been hundreds of black-on-black shootings this year, just as there were last year, and the year before, and the year before.
Where’s the outrage, NBC News? Where’s the outrage, AP? Where’s even the hint of finger-pointing at the Democrat politicians who run Chicago and have for decades?
Columnist David Harsanyi gets to the point of all this: “Because it’s become so common for the left to insinuate (or blame) conservatives for inciting violence, we might forget how vile those accusations can be. But they’re not only contemptible for the obvious reasons. They are meant to shut you up.”
In the end, these are racial arsonists masquerading as journalists. And yet, weirdly, they do a service to those of us on the Right: Through their biased reporting, they remind us that if our duly elected representatives threaten the Left’s grip on power, they’ll try to destroy them by any means necessary.

Manchin and daughter’s $100 million project, California Democrat sees the light, BLM’s Denver jackpot, and more.
Thomas Gallatin & Jordan Candler
Cross-Examination
“Treated like a toddler”: Excerpts from a soon-to-be-released book documenting Joe Biden’s first term in office by Atlantic writer Franklin Foer paint a rather unflattering view of the career politician. Following Biden’s speech in Warsaw wherein he went off script by saying that Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power,” Foer writes: “Biden left for home … feeling sorry for himself. Rather than owning his failure, he fumed to his friends about how he was treated like a toddler. Was John Kennedy ever babied like that?” Biden’s rub is what has been glaringly obvious over his entire time in office — that his staff is consistently forced to run cleanup after him.
Manchin and daughter’s $100M project: Questions surround Joe Manchin’s future decisions: Will the West Virginia Democrat senator decide on running an uphill battle for reelection, or will he instead launch a presidential campaign running as an independent, or will he do something else entirely? Well, Manchin recently joined his daughter Heather Manchin, the former CEO of specialty pharmaceuticals company Mylan, to pitch a centrist vision for American politics. With the goal of forming a focused coalition, the project aims to “mobilize the middle” by supporting candidates and policies that steer away from the fringes and into the center. The project is projected to cost over $100 million. In other words, this would be an effort to promote political unity for the sake of unity.
California Democrat sees the light: At least one California Democrat has seen the light. San Mateo County Supervisor David Canepa on Tuesday blasted the city’s leftist lax crime policies that have only served to increase crime. Canepa noted that the Board of Supervisors was proposing a new tax force instead of focusing on crime. “Enough is enough!” lamented Canepa. “All this retail theft. All this sort of crime. Enough is enough. We really need to look at state laws. What we have in place right now is not working. We can’t go on like this.” Canepa also admitted his own culpability for supporting California’s Prop 47, passed back in 2014, that downgraded many theft and drug possession crimes from felonies to misdemeanors if the total stolen amounted to no more than $950. “I made a mistake,” he said, “It was a big mistake, and you have to acknowledge your mistake.” He then observed: “By doing this, what we’ve done is we’re letting people take thousands and thousands of dollars. And why should people be subjugated?”
BLM’s Denver jackpot: Riot, burn, and loot, and then get a fat check for doing so. That effectively is what has happened in Denver after Colorado’s capital city settled with roughly 300 Black Lives Matter protesters. During 2020’s summer of violence, those protesters were arrested for violating the city’s emergency curfew order, which had been given due to the rioting, burning, and looting that would often accompany BLM protests after dark. Now, the Denver City Council has unanimously agreed to reward these lawbreakers with a $4.7 million settlement — at taxpayer expense, of course.
Good news: Anti-transing victory: A California mother who sued her local school district after officials secretly “socially transitioned” her daughter has won a $100,000 judgment. After Jessica Konen discovered that her daughter’s school in Monterey County had allowed her sixth-grade daughter to use male pronouns and the boy’s bathroom while not notifying or seeking her consent, she sued. Konen charged that the school intentionally kept her in the dark and, as the lawsuit noted, “attempted to actively deceive” by using her daughter’s “birth name and corresponding pronouns in her presence while using” her daughter’s “new name and pronouns when she was not present.” Following this trying but successful ordeal, Konen warned: “If you choose not to fight for your children, then they will fight and take your children. Stand up parents, it’s your right to be able to parent your own children.”
CNN’s new CEO: Leftmedia outlet CNN has a new CEO, the fifth to jump on board what has become a carousel of leadership. Former New York Times CEO Mark Thompson will officially take the helm on October 9, making him the fifth boss (counting three interims) CNN has burned through in under two years. Former CEO Chris Licht lasted just over a year, as he unsuccessfully tried to steer CNN back toward a more centrist focus on hard news and away from the hard-left slant of the Jeff Zucker years. With CNN having lost so many primetime viewers, it is now well behind MSNBC and not even within shouting distance of Fox News. The question is just how hard left Thompson will push the media outlet.

Teens are harassed by an official at an equestrian competition for wearing shirts deemed offensive.
Emmy Griffin
We have endured many instances of censorship when it comes to conservative speech. The Left has systematically labeled virtually every position that conservatives hold as either “bigoted” or “racist.” Leftists also can enforce their tyranny of thought because they dominate the institutions — even institutions like a 4-H equestrian competition hosted by Washington State University.
4-H is the largest youth development organization in the U.S., and it is by no means a right-wing organization. This is immediately obvious when reading about its focus on “ensuring access and equity for all” and “creating safe, diverse and inclusive environments.”
The four Hs are Head, Heart, Hands, and Health, and when applied to horses, kids display specific horsemanship skills including grooming. Which leads to the meat of the controversy. A team of young teen girls (ages 15) all were participating in a 4-H groom squad competition. When they arrived, they discovered that their team could earn extra points if they had team shirts. They bought team shirts at a booth at the fair where the competition was taking place, donned them, and began getting ready for the competition. The shirts were black T-shirts with the slogan “My Pronouns Nor/mal.”
Not long after getting ready, the teens were approached by 4-H official Brian Brandt, who began chastising them about their choice of team shirt.
Brandt informed the girls that their shirts were offensive and targeted a minority community. He insisted that these shirts were against the state laws on discrimination and harassment. His final argument was that the shirts could make someone with different pronouns feel abnormal. He did all this without their parents being present.
The situation quickly changed as one of the girl’s fathers came over to investigate what was going on. According to a statement made to the 4-H organization by Sydney Smith: “Almost immediately after my dad came over to see what was going on, another parent (not involved with us, or the situation) involved herself in the conversation and started yelling and pointing at me, telling me I had no business wearing that shirt and I needed to take it off. I was scared and felt harassed and discriminated against by both Brian Brandt and the other parent. I felt very unsafe with them and still do. For the rest of the fair, I made sure I was never alone and had one of my friends or parents with me or close by.”
Brandt’s bungling wasn’t done. He also approached one of the mothers, Donna Person Smith, later in the day, displeased that these girls had a photo of their shirts up on Facebook. He told Smith to take down the post. In an interview after the fact, Smith said: “It was not a blanket rule that there are no ‘words’ or ‘pronouns’ on shirts, just that he gets to decide which ‘words’ or ‘pronouns’ are allowed. This is not only unfair, it is a violation of my daughter’s right to free speech and free expression. Brian Brandt specifically targeted these girls because of his personal interpretation and opinion about the shirts — not based on any actual rule violation.”
Other people at the competition publicly complained on social media. Brandt responded to these complaints, insinuating that the girls purposely adorned these shirts to make the event less safe for LGBTQ+ people. Essentially, he placed a target on the back of these teen girls and, as many have found out, the gender cultists are among the most violent and horrible bullies there are.
This blatant censorship of free speech and freedom of expression is just the latest attack on conservative viewpoints. To make a public example of teenage girls and to act like their shirts were acts of violence is ridiculous and frankly deranged. What else is new from the gender ideologues? They don’t argue; they bully. They don’t debate; they make public examples of. These girl flaunted their conservative ideology and must be punished.
Frankly, people who behave this way toward children, putting them directly in the line of fire from the worst people there are, should forfeit their right to be around children. Period.
On the other hand, this tantrum about the shirts isn’t surprising. These teens were at a 4-H event, which seems to be a very left-leaning organization. That event was hosted by Washington State University — hardly the bastion of conservative thinking. It by no means justifies the attacks that the girls and their parents suffered, but considering their location and the organization, it’s not unexpected.
One can only hope these girls and their parents stick to their guns and continue to fight for their rights to free speech and freedom of expression. Lord knows 4-H certainly won’t apologize for putting these girls in danger.
The mayor blames the governor, who in turn blames the mayor, and they both blame the Biden administration, which puts the blame back on New York.
Thomas Gallatin
New Yorkers have evidently had enough. According to a recent Siena College poll, some 82% of New York residents say that the influx of illegal aliens into the state is a problem, with 54% of respondents calling it “very serious.”
New York City has been the epicenter for the state’s migrant influx, with more than 100,000 having arrived in the Big Apple since the spring of 2022. Admittedly, a small part of that is thanks to red-state governors like Texas’s Greg Abbott busing illegal aliens to self-declared “sanctuary” jurisdictions like New York.
As the number of migrants has grown, the strain put upon city and state welfare services has significantly increased. Struggling to manage the situation and provide shelter for these migrants, NYC Mayor Eric Adams has increasingly gotten fed up with what he sees as little help from Albany. With protests over the growing crisis increasing in the city, Adams called out Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul for not spreading the burden to other counties and cities around the state.
Meanwhile, Hochul blamed Adams for failing to provide enough housing for the migrants after he sent a number of busloads of migrants upstate, resulting in at least one incident of patrons getting kicked out of a motel in order to house illegal aliens.
With tensions mounting, both the governor and mayor have called on the Biden administration for help. What they got back was anything but.
Joe Biden’s Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas sent a letter that amounted to little more than a backhanded reprimand. It contained “advice” like improving data collection when processing migrants and ensuring better communication with asylum seekers. Of course, those suggestions ignore the fact that illegal aliens have almost no paperwork or identity records by which to process them, and most of them don’t speak English.
Not to mention that Biden’s administration never should have let them illegally cross the border in the first place.
A spokesman for Adams responded to Mayorkas’s “recommendations” by stating, “This is a humanitarian crisis of a national proportion that [the Biden administration has] been able to manage, but the dam has, it has broken.” He added: “New Yorkers deserve the facts, so let’s be clear: Our requests from the federal government remain the same, and quite frankly, unaddressed.”
Clearly, Adams is none too happy with the Biden administration’s blame-shifting over this migrant crisis, a crisis Biden is entirely responsible for creating. Indeed, all Biden would need to do is direct and empower the Border Patrol to once again do what it was created to do in the first place — enforce America’s border laws. Furthermore, begin immediately deporting migrants who illegally enter the country, and end the dubious “asylum seeker” designation for illegal migrants while relocating them around the country to await hearings for which many don’t bother showing up.
Meanwhile, down at the border, an average of 7,000 migrants are illegally entering the country every day. Barack Obama’s HHS secretary, Jeh Johnson, once said 1,000 daily crossings “overwhelms the system” and declared that we’re “truly in a crisis” at 4,000 per day.
Moreover, with these lawbreakers comes higher crime rates. In Texas alone, since 2011, illegal aliens account for over 430,000 criminal offenses.
During Donald Trump’s presidency, his focus on illegal immigration and border enforcement saw the number of criminal illegal alien arrests decrease year over year. In FY2017, Customs and Border Patrol made over 8,000 arrests. In FY2018, that number dropped to 6,698, and by FY2020 it was down to 2,438. Those figures coincide with fewer and fewer illegal border crossings. However, after Biden took over, those number went in the opposite direction, as 10,763 criminal aliens were arrested in FY2021.
New York Democrat leaders are pointing fingers at each other, but they’re also increasingly pointing the finger of blame where it belongs — at Joe Biden. And the more the Empire State’s voters get fed up with these illegal aliens, the more pressure and criticism will be pushed Biden’s way.
The GOP can put forward the winning slate that our country desperately needs.

A debate among GOP presidential candidates? Why bother? Isn’t the nomination already in the bag for Donald Trump?
Hardly. With the political whirlwinds already swirling at hurricane force, the 2024 presidential election will be unlike any we’ve ever seen. It’s early. Anything can happen.
Last week’s debate was our first real look at the GOP candidates in the wings, an opportunity to get some measure of their relative stature, seriousness, and potential. These are the ones hoping to break Donald Trump’s apparent lock on the GOP nomination, or to be beneficiaries should the Democrats succeed too well in damaging Trump, their preferred opponent.
These pre-primary debates are important. Voters must find some way to penetrate the slick, focus-group-tested TV spots and the phony personal appeals (“Jack, you’re one of my top supporters, could you please…”) — and, most importantly, to cut through the fog of biased media coverage. As we’ve learned too many times, it’s nearly impossible to see the real person behind the façade before casting our vote — but watching two hours of live TV of presidential candidates fielding tough questions can be very informative.
The debates are our chance to look for glimpses of the attributes we want in our president. My list: authenticity, integrity, meaningful experience (primarily executive accomplishment), energy (it’s a tough job), intellectual strength, and clarity of thinking.
A few obvious takeaways from the first debate: It was an impressive group, including several who could make it to the top. And it’s probably a good thing that Donald Trump dodged the debate — we know him only too well; we don’t know these others well enough.
And my first reactions to the individual candidates:
Ron DeSantis: an achiever, deadly serious, clear thinking, and articulate. His service as Florida’s governor demonstrates exceptional executive competence.
Vivek Ramaswamy: whip-smart, high energy, impressive private sector experience, and a great communicator, but maybe too good (like a performer playing to his audience).
Nikki Haley: solid, accomplished, insightful, truthful — with formidable breadth of domestic and international experience.
Mike Pence: authentic and principled, but preachy. We know him well.
Tim Scott: a good guy who’s rightly proud of his heritage and his life’s path, but that’s not enough.
Chris Christie: forceful, aggressive, and successful (for a time) as Republican leader of a deep-blue state — but in his second term, he wore thin on New Jersey voters.
Asa Hutchinson and Doug Burgum: impressive individuals but unlikely to be credible contenders.
Also worthy of mention is that a handful of other declared GOP candidates didn’t meet the debate stage criteria, and at least one undeclared but possible candidate — Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin — could be a game changer.
And now, back to the King of the Hill: former President Donald Trump, who (for now) holds a massive lead over everyone above, as indicated by polls of prospective GOP voters.
A Trump second term wouldn’t bring many surprises — we’d get the good Trump (unflagging energy, self-confidence, resiliency) along with the bad Trump (egomania, bluster, impulsive decision-making). The former president has a base of diehard supporters who sincerely believe in him, will follow him anywhere, will surely vote for him if he is the GOP nominee, and may not vote for anyone else.
But hold on. For the Trump advocates, even if we were to accept without argument that he is the answer, the superman, the only one with the gumption to wade in and drain The Swamp — and even if we were to agree that the four indictments charging him with 91 felony offenses constitute unprecedented and wholly improper election interference — none of that matters if he does not win the general election.
And as Governor Haley asserted (while brushing off the expected audience boos), Trump is the most hated politician in America. Polls differ on the accuracy of that comment, but the perception matters.
Democrats have done their best to make it so. They’re confident that Joe Biden can beat Donald Trump, particularly if Trump is dragging four indictments along with him. And if they find a way — or are forced by circumstance — to replace Biden/Harris with a more attractive slate, all the better. In either case, their political strategy is to make sure Trump is their opponent, and a badly damaged opponent at that.
But to anyone of any political stripe who believes that our country is in a deep decline, it should be clear that a continuation of the Biden agenda (led by Biden or his anointed successor) is not the answer. In counterpoint, the GOP can offer some terrific alternatives.
If I had to pick today, I’d go with a Haley/DeSantis or maybe DeSantis/Haley slate; or perhaps try to get Youngkin in the mix. A ticket like that — fresh, energetic, loaded with executive talent and none of the Trump baggage — can win the day, hands down.
It’s that simple. We (American voters) just need to make that happen.

A Day in the Life of Sleepy Joe — Joe Biden, 80, is technically president of the United States. Most Americans agree that he’s way too old for the job. Nevertheless, he persists.

I know he can’t name one of them without a card sitting in front of him or a teleprompter sitting in front of him. I say to him: resign. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. An attorney and legal spokeswoman for Donald Trump has provided a big update after the 45th president was indicted in Georgia.
“Russia hoax, impeachment hoax, I mean keep going, keep going, keep going,” Habba said. “What I think is the most frightening is not just the fake news media but that the fake news media, I think, is starting to permeate our court systems and our justice systems, and that’s what scares me.” She said. “If you’re on the right you tend to watch right-wing shows that confirm your beliefs; if you’re on the left you tend to watch things like MSDNC and CNN and that confirms your beliefs on the opposite side.”
“So the real question is, How do we start to open our eyes to the truth? And I think if we don’t have people out there giving the truth and I know I for one and I know you both do this, we try and be intelligent about what we say and not just say what people want to hear.
“I for sure don’t do that, but if people don’t start doing that and stop being afraid of being targeted for being honest Americans we’re going to have a real problem.
“I think the [former] president [Trump] has a good point. You know we have a real tragedy happening in the television sector because people don’t trust what they’re watching. So, we can fix it and I take it seriously. I know you guys do but unfortunately, that’s not the way the American people view it all the time,” she said.
“It’s a serious matter and if [Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis] is gonna bring charges against a former president she better be able to put her big girl pants on and deal with the repercussions and the fight that we’ll give in court.”
WATCH:
A growing number of state Republican lawmakers in Georgia are examining ways to stop DA Willis from prosecuting Trump after she indicted him and 18 others over racketeering allegations linked to the 2020 election.
“Soon after the indictment against Trump and others was filed, discussions were underway to have Willis removed from office or face investigations and impeachment hearings over allegations of a partisan probe against the former president and frontrunner in the 2024 GOP primary,” Newsweek noted on Wednesday.
One move some GOP lawmakers are considering is using a law signed by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp in May that would allow them to establish a new commission that would have the authority to remove local prosecutors who are deemed unable to fulfill their “constitutional and statutory duties.”
In a statement released then, Kemp’s office said that the creation of the Prosecuting Attorneys Qualifications Commission (PAQC), which is set to begin receiving complaints about prosecutors starting from October 1, will function as a “valuable oversight mechanism” for district attorneys within the state.
“As hardworking law enforcement officers routinely put their lives on the line to investigate, confront, and arrest criminal offenders, I won’t stand idly by as they’re met with resistance from rogue or incompetent prosecutors who refuse to uphold the law,” Kemp said.
“The creation of the PAQC will help hold prosecutors driven by out-of-touch politics than commitment to their responsibilities accountable and make our communities safer,” he added.
After the measure was signed into law, four district attorneys filed a lawsuit to have it struck down as an alleged violation of both the Georgia state constitution and U.S. Constitution.
In an August 21 post on Facebook, GOP Georgia state Sen. Clint Dixon said he would call on the PAQC to investigate Willis for allegedly targeting Trump for political purposes and her apparent “unabashed goal to become some sort of leftist celebrity.”
“Once the Prosecutorial Oversight Committee is appointed in October, we can call on them to investigate and take action against Fani Willis and her efforts that weaponize the justice system against political opponents,” Dixon wrote.
“This is our best measure, and I will be ready to call for that investigation,” he noted further.

You may have not ever heard of the Cloward-Piven Strategy, but you are watching it coming to live in the midst of the onslaught of illegal immigrants being bussed in
The photo at the top of this article is not of a Third World nation, it is what the heart of New York City on 6th Avenue looks like in 2023, halfway through Obama’s Third Term. This scene is being played out in major Democrat-run cities across the United States, as well as in the UK and Canada. Why is this happening? It’s the Cloward-Piven Strategy being put into action, with the intent to crash and collapse the benefits systems. If you can do that, you can take down the nation, which is precisely the whole point.
“And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.” Revelation 18:2 (KJB)
This article is not to warn you about something that could happen, or might happen, it’s written to show you what is happening right now and how your lawmakers are doing nothing to stop it. In New York City, hotels are just being handed over to illegal immigrants who, of course, will destroy the properties as they dwell there. The same thing is playing out in Europe as well. A nation without borders is not a nation at all, and America is being ‘kicked to the curb’ by the very people who took an oath to defend her, our elected leaders. Take a look at the Cloward-Piven Strategy written in the 1960’s, and you will see immediately what’s behind the ‘migrant crisis’.

Students are forced out of ‘luxury’ £200-a-week flats with gym and cinema to make way for up to 405 asylum seekers leaving them scrambling to find new accommodation on eve of new term
FROM THE DAILY MAIL UK: University students are now in a desperate scramble to find new accommodation after being kicked out a ‘luxury’ housing block – which is reportedly set to be used by migrants. Under plans by the Home Office, hundreds of asylum seekers could move into a 405-bed student block in Huddersfield, that features a cinema room and gym – with some top-end studio flats costing up to £200 a week – or £10,000 a year – to rent.
The government deal means that more than 150 students who had already signed tenancy agreements have been forced to find alternative housing a week before the start of the academic year.
The HD1 student halls, only a short walk from the University of Huddersfield campus, in West Yorkshire, was previously advertised as ‘luxury student accommodation’. Rooms were available to rent for from between £135 and £200 a week, with student facilities including a games room, pool table, cinema, gym and a washing room.
News of the deal comes after 300 migrants made the perilous Channel crossing in small boats on Tuesday – taking the total number of illegal arrivals reaching this UK this year to 20,000. Prestige Student Living (PSL), the lettings company, claimed landlord Hudd Student Management had told them the block would not be opening to students. READ MORE
NYC scrambles as hundreds more migrant kids enroll in school — just days before classes return
FROM THE NY POST: The Big Apple is scrambling to get up to speed for the first day of school next week with 500 new migrant kids enrolled for the first time and a possible school bus strike looming. And yet, New York City School Chancellor David Banks claims it’s just business as usual.
“Everything has been okay,” Banks assured New Yorkers at a press conference Wednesday. “We have room for the students, our principals, our superintendents, outside communities have worked extremely well.”
Just over 19,000 kids in temporary housing are enrolled in the city school system — the overwhelming majority of whom are asylum seekers, according to the Department of Education. As classes get started on Sept. 7, another 500 have been added to the mix this week — with more arriving weekly.
Banks says the district has 3,400 English as a new language teachers and about 1,700 teachers who are fluent in Spanish, the primary language spoken by the vast majority of the nearly 60,000 migrants overall who are now being housed by the city. READ MORE
One of the distinguishing features of Trump’s presidency was an aggressive press corps that felt obligated to call out Trump’s ‘lies’ — so why won’t they apply this same standard to Biden who is inarguably a world-class liar?
GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy spoke in length recently about his opinions on the deep state and how he would go about opposing it, calling U.S. politicians “puppets” and “hollowed out husks” serving a ‘globalist machine‘.
During the podcast appearance with Shawn Ryan, Ramaswamy noted “It’s a machine that we’re up against. If we think it is individual, person-to-person combat, like: ‘We found the bad guys of the globalist cabal, we got ’em smoking cigars in the back room,’ that is the wrong mental model. That’s how it worked in the old world.”
“What we have today going on in the U.S. is a modern 1775 moment,” he explained, adding “In the old world, there were a group of people who got together in the back of palace halls and determined what was right for the rest of society. The old world vision, and it is rearing its head again in this country today.”
Ramaswamy emphasized that the attitude of that vision is that “We The People can not be trusted to sort out our differences through free speech and open debate in a constitutional republic, on how we fight climate change or racial injustice. It has to be decided in the back of palace halls by an enlightened elite.”
“We fought a revolution to say hell no to that vision, that yes, We The People in this constitutional republic decide how we self-govern, thank you very much,” he continued.
“Now that old monster is rearing its head again, except now they say it is in the back of palace halls like a three-letter government building in Washington D.C. But you show up there and it isn’t quite right, there’s no smoking cigars,” Ramaswamy added.
“So you say, maybe it is the corner office of BlackRock in their C-suite on Park Avenue. It is woven into a machine of a horizontal managerial class composed of people in three-letter agencies in government, the people who professionally sit on corporate boards, the associate deans of god knows what universities, the ambassadors to some second-tier nation in Europe who was a donor to some political party, it is the same managerial class that makes it very hard to identify because it pervades multiple institutions both within and without of government. That’s what we’re up against,” Ramaswamy asserted.
“The real divide in the country is not between Republicans and Democrats… It is between the managerial class and the citizens,” he further urged.
Late last year, the censorious governing body for psychologists in the Canadian province of Ontario ordered Dr. Jordan Peterson to undergo “re-education” training for having offended strangers online with his lawful opinions. Peterson fought the order in court, but a trio of judges ruled against him last week.
Despite losing this latest battle, Peterson has designs for winning the war.
What’s the background?
A handful of thin-skinned individuals who were neither clients nor kin to clients of best-selling author and clinical psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson filed complaints with the Canadian governing body that regulates his profession, the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Peterson had drawn their ire for expressing his opinions lawfully online.
criticism of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Trudeau’s former chief of staff, Gerald Butts, who resigned amid the liberal leader’s disgraceful and damning SNC Lavalin scandal;
a suggestion that the doctor who cut off actress Elliot Page’s healthy breasts was a “criminal physician”; and
a retweet of a comment made by the leader of Canada’s official opposition party regarding the unnecessary severity of COVID lockdowns.
After looking into the complaints, the CPO’s inquiries, complaints, and reports committee — comprising persons Peterson has called “cowards” — concluded in November 2022 that the 61-year-old doctor’s comments were “degrading, demeaning and unprofessional,” adding that his conduct “poses moderate risks to the public” and runs the risk of “undermining public trust in the profession of psychology, and trust in the college’s ability to regulate the profession in the public interest.”
With the understanding that he had done nothing wrong and reiterating his unwillingness to apologize for criticizing the mutilation of mentally ill women, medical tyranny, or shady public officials, Peterson refused to undergo so-called social media training.
He stressed in an opinion piece for the National Post, “I’m not complying. I’m not submitting to re-education. I am not admitting that my viewpoints — many of which have, by the way, been entirely justified by the facts that have emerged since the complaints were levied — were either wrong or unprofessional.”
Peterson ultimately took the CPO to court over its order, which he suggested had run afoul of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
A battle lost
Last week, a court upheld the regulator’s order to undergo re-education training at his own expense. The court also ordered Peterson to pay his censors $25,000.
The Ontario Divisional Court stated the CPO’s ruling “is not disciplinary and does not prevent Dr. Peterson from expressing himself on controversial topics; it has a minimal impact on his right to freedom of expression.”
The panel of superior court judges — Paul Schabas, Nancy Backhouse, and John Krawchenko — appeared to agree that Peterson’s free speech was subordinate to the sensitivities of the CPO committee and those thin-skinned strangers who had filed complaints from afar.
Moreover, the trio asserted that the CPO committee had “reasonably” concluded that “Dr. Peterson’s behavior raised a moderate risk of harm to the public.”
Carolyn Silver, chief legal officer for the CPO, gloated afterward, stating, “The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is pleased with the Court’s decision confirming that members of regulated health professions are expected to maintain high standards of conduct, which at times may result in some curtailment of their freedom of expression.”
A global theater
Peterson told “Jesse Watters Primetime” Wednesday that he would comply with the order after all, but intimated he would seize upon the opportunity to serve as a Trojan horse carrying the eyes of the world into the struggle sessions.
“I’m going to do everything I can to make all of this as public as I possibly can,” said Peterson. “I have done that from the beginning. I released all the documents that included the charges, so to speak, that the college has levied against me. I want to make this 100% transparent and let the public decide for themselves who exactly is acting, let’s say, in an unprofessional capacity.”
When pressed on how he intends to document the mandated attempts to re-engineer his thinking and conduct, Peterson indicated it’s presently unclear what the law will allow. If possible, he will do so by filming. Failing that, he will alternatively capture the sessions by audio recording and/or “extensive notes and commentary afterward.”
“Somehow, everything that happens is going to be made public. It is absolutely necessary,” added Peterson.
The doctor once again made clear to Watters that he is not the slightest bit repentant for speaking what he regards as the truth, even in the capacity that would fall under the CPO’s purview.
“I’m perfectly willing to state that I am stating my opinions on Twitter and social media in my professional capacity,” stressed Peterson. “So, for example, the comments I made about Ellen Page, you know, I’m not the least bit happy about what the sadistic surgeon butchers are doing to minors, and I’m also not very happy about narcissistic, let’s say, celebrities parading off their new, surgically enhanced body and enticing young women, for example, into becoming sterilized and butchered, so I think I have a professional obligation like all therapists and all physicians to say very clearly that this is 100% absolutely not acceptable.”
Speaking more broadly to the fast disintegration of freedom of expression in his native country, Peterson said, “What we’re seeing in Canada is an unraveling of all the principles upon which my country and yours are predicated, and that’s part of the ideological possession that’s swept over Canada in particular. I mean, it’s certainly threatening you characters down in the United States, but we’re farther along that road given that we’re run by the poster boy for political correctness himself [Justin Trudeau].”
“America seems ripe for judgment”… The discerners of the church body have been saying ‘judgment in America’ for a while. I know I have. In 2010 I’d written that America seemed to have passed the “point of no return. Before the Economic Crash of 2008, all had been going along like it had been in this country. America was strong and mighty and seemingly invincible. Warning that judgment was coming soon was met with strange looks and shaking of heads. No brimstone was falling, after all. Just because we don’t see brimstone falling from the sky does not mean we as a nation are not experiencing judgment.
Many people think of judgment as the kind that occurred at Sodom and Gomorrah: brimstone from the sky and obliteration of the entire city. (Genesis 19:24). And that IS one kind of judgment.
Bible Fact: There are 13 mentions of brimstone (sulfur) in the Bible. Six mentions are in the Old Testament. Seven mentions are in the New Testament. Of the 7 mentions of brimstone in the NT, six are in Revelation.
The wrath of God is not one-dimensional. There are in fact many different kinds of wrath that God displays. Hosea 5:12 says “He is as a moth to Ephraim or or dry rot to Judah”, working silently and invisibly. In his 2012 sermon “When God Abandons a Nation“, John MacArthur outlined five distinct kinds of wrath the Lord has displayed throughout the Bible.
1. Eternal wrath: that is the punishing eternal, judgment God brings upon sinners in their death. 2. Eschatalogical wrath: God’s stored-up anger unleashed at the end of this present age upon the world, promised by Old Testament saints, outlined at length in Jesus’ Olivet Discourse, and seen unfolding through Revelation. 3. Cataclysmic wrath: These are tsunamis, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc., the result of sin and the curse upon the world. 4. Consequential wrath: this is a person receiving the just due for their actions while on earth, the sowing and reaping. 5. Abandonment: This is the wrath seen in Romans 1:18-32. MacArthur preached, “God will abandon sinners to their own choices and the consequences of those choices. And just what is this abandoning act on God’s part, it is the removal of restraining grace. It is when God lets go and turns a society over to its own sinful freedoms and the results of those freedoms. No Scripture more directly confronts this abandonment and its consequences than Romans 1 does.”
A Hillary Clinton presidency would be a Jezebel judgment in my opinion. A Kamala Harris Vice-Presidency is also indicative of judgment, as Isaiah 3:12 seems to indicate.
MacArthur said in that 2012 sermon that “It’s pretty convincing that God has abandoned our nation.” God has done so in the past to other nations, many times. In Hosea 4:17 it is recorded that God said, “Ephraim is joined unto idols, let him alone.” America isn’t special that we should not expect the same treatment as other rebellious nations when we abandon Him.
In Acts 14:16, the Apostle Paul said, “In the generations gone by, He…God…permitted all the nations to go their own way.” This is the story of history. All the nations of history go their own way. So like the nations of old, like the nations past, we follow the same cycle of having the truth, rejecting the truth and being abandoned by God. ~MacArthur
Can you think of a worse wrath than for God to leave you alone? Whether He is abandoning you as an individual or as a nation, it is a deeply disturbing thought. In Romans 1:18-32,
Three times you have the statement, “God gave them over.” This term paradidomiin the Greek can have a judicial sense. It can be used of a judgment made on a criminal who was then handed over for punishment. Each of these phrases expresses the fact that the wrath of God has acted judicially to sentence sinners. It is God officially giving them over. It is God letting them go to the uninterrupted cause and effect their sinful choices produce. When this judgment falls, there is a depriving of restraining grace and sin runs rampant through a society. (Source)
Do the people of a nation under the wrath of abandonment know it is happening when it is happening? Non-believers don’t of course, and even most believers don’t. But the Prophets certainly did, and it was a deep lament to them.
Cut off your hair and throw it away; take up a lament on the barren heights, for the LORD has rejected and abandoned this generation that is under his wrath. (Jeremiah 7:29)
And so, we are under His wrath. That brings the question…is there any hope? … [T]here is a word of hope in Psalm 81…This is a plaintive cry from God who says, “Oh that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways.” The key, listen to Me. Walk in My ways. The only hope for this or any other society is to hear the Word of the Lord and obey it, to hear the Word of the Lord and obey it. And I would suggest that this is not a good time for weak men preaching weak messages in weak churches. This is a time for bold and powerful strong biblical ministry that calls people to hear the Word of the Lord and respond. This is the only hope for any people for any individual.
The day is sobering and the times are troubling. We all strive to display the joy of Christ in our daily life, to persevere in and aura of hope and peace. We know to be gentle and humble, and to love our friend, neighbor and enemy. But there is no doubt that the times demand of us a careful attention to the Bible and its paths, more than ever in fact.
We don’t like to be downers but we also don’t ignore the fact that we are living in difficult times that are on the precipice of being massively more difficult soon. We know that God created each person on earth specifically and for a specific purpose in their era. If I am here now, for just such a time as this, what can I do to both advance the kingdom like I’m supposed to, and also prepare for the times ahead? We must do our diligence to lift Jesus’ name to the highest with all our strength, soul, mind, and heart.
Amid growing fears that Americans could face more COVID-19 lockdowns or mandates, Republican candidates vying for the 2024 presidential nomination say they are firmly against such restrictive measures.
“No mask mandates,” candidate Vivek Ramaswamy told The Daily Signal on Thursday. “No vaccine mandates. No lockdown ever again.”
Sen. Tim Scott is also adamantly against locking down the American people again.
“I have always been against mandates,” the South Carolina Republican told The Daily Signal on Thursday. “Period. I’m unapologetically a First Amendment kind of guy, so I believe that individual freedom is central to who we are as Americans.”
“It is important to call out the lies told by Fauci,” Scott added. “There was a devastating impact of their lies and theories. Human dignity comes from maximizing one’s potential, and the mandates and lockdowns hurt children, small businesses, and all Americans.”
Asked if former Vice President Mike Pence supports more COVID lockdowns or mandates, spokesman Devin O’Malley replied: “Not a chance.”
A spokesman for Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, similarly decried the impacts of COVID lockdowns on the American people.
“Lockdowns wreaked havoc on our economy and the mental and physical health of every American—especially our children,” spokesman Ken Farnaso told The Daily Signal. “Lockdowns, championed by leftist teachers unions, damaged our children’s’ education for a generation. A Haley administration will plan for the next pandemic and ensure we do not allow fear, government overreach, or bureaucrat-forced mandates to devastate our country ever again.”
On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump’s campaign released a video denouncing the left’s push to “restart the COVID hysteria” and pledging that the United States would not return to lockdowns, mask mandates and vaccine mandates.
“Hear my words — WE WILL NOT COMPLY,” the campaign posted on X, formerly Twitter.
“To every COVID tyrant who wants to take away our freedom, hear these words: We will not comply, so don’t even think about it,” the former president said. He did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
— Team Trump (Text TRUMP to 88022) (@TeamTrump) August 30, 2023
Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis also did not respond to requests for comment on the matter. According to his campaign, he has spent the week focused on the state’s response to Hurricane Idalia.
During the last presidential debate, the Florida governor promised: “As your president, I will never let the deep state bureaucrats lock you down.”
.@RonDeSantis "As your president, I will never let the deep state bureaucrats lock you down. You don't take somebody like Dr. Fauci and coddle him. You bring him in and sit him down and say Anthony, you are fired!" pic.twitter.com/NIFzI1GCs2
The Daily Signal reached out to all top GOP candidates regarding future lockdowns and mandates as well as to Robert Francis Kennedy Jr. and to President Joe Biden’s White House. Candidates Chris Christie, Doug Burgum, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (as well as Trump and DeSantis) did not respond to The Daily Signal’s requests for comment.
“We look to a future when Americans no longer fear lockdowns, shutdowns, and our kids not going to school,” the White House said. “It’s a future when the country relies on the powerful layers of protection we have built and invests in the next generation of tools to stay ahead of this virus.”
The plan emphasizes that the White House wants to keep kids in school and workers in the work place: “The path forward in the fight against COVID-19 is clear: schools, workers, and workplaces have resources and guidance to prevent shutdowns.”
A White House spokesperson told The Daily Signal on Thursday that the Biden administration expects updated COVID-19 vaccines to be available in mid-September. The White House will be encouraging Americans to get this vaccine in addition to their annual flu shots and, for people over 60 as well as infants, the RSV immunization.

First Lady Jill Biden is actively involved in her husband’s administration, mostly to serve as a shield for him.
According to sources, Jill Biden is directly involved in the selection of administration officials, sits in meetings, shields her husband from exhausting events, and performs numerous other tasks that appear to protect her husband from having to handle too much on his own.
“Jill Biden’s reported influence in the White House comes as Joe Biden has been scrutinized for being led off stage by the first lady, and appearing to be physically led away from reporters’ questions. Jill Biden has been appearing frequently at public events and plans to hit the campaign trail going into the 2024 election,” the outlet reported.
The Guardian reported similar details in a separate report, noting that Jill Biden is “running the show” behind the scenes:
Behind the scenes, First Lady Jill Biden might be running the show. In an interview with David Muir, President Biden was asked about a second run, and he joked, “I gotta call [Jill] and find out.” He was kidding, but there is some truth behind his wife’s influence. A former senior adviser told Politico, “She is always his final gut check.” As of April 2023, the president officially made his re-election bid. He released a campaign video where his wife can be spotted embracing the vice president, speaking out, and politicking on the campaign trail.
A former advisor to the Head of State shared, “She is usually in the room when senior campaign staff is presenting a strategy to her husband. She will ask questions. But she never weighs in on the decision.”
“The first lady, Jill Biden, encouraged her husband to seek a second term. According to the president’s senior advisers, he will often consider her opinion before making final decisions on official matters. She is also expected to play a large role on the campaign trail as Biden faces backlash for his family. A career educator, she offers a perspective over GOP fights about book bans and other policies in schools and has served as a connection to suburban voters, particularly women,” the outlet added.
This comes as a separate report found that the payroll at the White House has seen a significant increase during his term, according to a recent report.
In the third year of President Biden’s administration, there are now 524 people on the payroll for the White House, an increase of 50 employees.
The significant increase in the number of people working on First Lady Jill Biden’s staff was a significant factor causing this surge.
The 2023 report to Congress on the White House staff included payroll information.
“The payroll figure is higher than last year’s total of 474, though lower than Biden’s first-year White House payroll of 560. However, the total payroll bill for 2023 still tops the $50,276,976 that made up White House salaries in 2021, according to OpenTheBooks, a nonprofit group that focuses on government spending,” The Western Journal reported.
The group reported that the total payroll for the White House was between $52 million and $53 million.
In 2022, Jill Biden’s team consisted of a relatively small group of only eight staff members. However, this year, the number of staff members has increased significantly to 20. Of particular interest is the inclusion of a new position called “social media platform manager,” with an annual salary of $113,039. This position was not listed in previous years’ staff rosters, including the one released in 2021, as noted by The Western Journal.
“That means that out of the 50 more employees the White House has in 2023 compared to 2022, more than 20 percent of the growth has come from the 150 percent increase in Jill Biden’s staff. How many private employers grow their staff by 150 percent in one year?” the outlet added.
As per a report published on June 28, 2019, during the third year of former President Donald Trump’s administration, the entire White House payroll consisted of only 416 employees.
In contrast, the staff under former First Lady Melania Trump comprised a maximum of 12 staffers, which was slightly over half the size of Jill Biden’s current staff.
(Mary Dowling – Independent Sentinel) Adam Corolla asked Tucker Carlson during an interview “…are they going to let Trump be president?”
“No, look…they protested him.. .they called him names. He won anyway. They impeached him twice on ridiculous pretenses… they fabricated a lot about what happened on January 6th in order to impeach him again. It didn’t work. He came back. Then they indicted him. It didn’t work. He became more popular. Then they indicted him three more times and every single time his popularity rose.
“So if you begin with criticism, then you go to protest, then you go to impeachment, now you go to indictment, and none of them work, what’s next? View article →
There has never been a more crooked family in politics than the Biden family.
Joe Biden flew his son Hunter Biden with him on Air Force 2 to thirteen different countries according to newly discovered records. On several of these trips Hunter Biden was hidden from public view or was already waiting in the car before Joe Biden departed the plane.
Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) joined Greg Kelly on Newsmax to discuss the latest revelations regarding the Biden Crime Family.
Greg Kelly: these emails, 5400, are you confident in that number? I said the archives presented you with that number. Is that true?
Rep. James Comer: Yes, we’re confident in that number. Now, there could be more because there could be more pseudonyms that Joe Biden used, but the sheer fact that there are that many and he used three different pseudonyms is very concerning. So how ironic is it the guy that while he was vice president, his family created 20 fake companies for the sole purpose of laundering money from foreign nationals into the fake LLCs that would then be laundered down to Biden family members? How ironic is it that the same person would have three fake names that he used on government emails? But the most concerning thing here about these 5400 emails is that we know of one, and we believe there are many more, where Hunter Biden was copied on them. So not only was he trying to disguise the fact that he was sending and receiving the emails while he was vice president, he’s copied his son on things pertaining to the government, specifically pertaining to Ukraine, at a time when he said all along that there was a wall between the government and Hunter Biden.
Greg Kelly: So Hunter Biden, we all remember the picture. I think we have it right here when he visited China with his father, the then vice president. I think this was December 2014, 2015. Yeah, there they are arriving in Beijing. Totally inappropriate, but that was done on purpose, we believe, to send the Chinese a signal. If you want to meet Joe, if you want to get to Joe, go through Hunter. That’s a big deal in China. I take it you’ve seen this other video of Joe Biden on his vice presidential travels where Hunter doesn’t get off the plane in front, but is often waiting in the car here’s, South Korea, 2013. He’s coming down. I don’t know who that person is with him, but by the time he gets to the car, we’re going to see somebody very familiar. It’s Hunter. That is undoubtedly hunter biden. And this happened throughout the world. It happened in Germany, italy. We believe Ukraine as well. What do you make of this?
Rep. James Comer: it’s obvious that he was trying to hide the fact that his son was traveling with him. Joe Biden has not been truthful with the American people about how many times his son flew on Air Force Two with him and where they flew to. What I think we’re going to find is that many of these countries where the Bidens were receiving millions and millions of dollars through their shell companies were the countries where Hunter Biden was traveling on Air Force Two with his father. Just like Joe Biden said. He never communicated with any of these foreign nationals who were sending the money. We’ve now found that he communicated with all of them. And what we’re finding about Burisma every day is very concerning. Very concerning. Of all the crimes that have been committed by the Bidens, what we’re finding with Burisma is probably the most concerning. Not to mention the fact that the Democrats and the media went all in on impeaching Donald Trump over simply calling Zelensky to ask him if he knew anything about potential crime by the Bidens in Ukraine.
Comments on the accelerating collapse of the United States. By 2030 or thereabouts, the United States will have the most tyrannical government and society that has ever existed on Earth. No one who represents the people and their morality is tolerated by the Satanic Evil that has America by the throat.
If you think this is hyperbole, Ask yourself, why not allow the American people in place of a tiny biased Democrat jury, to decide Trump’s innocence or guilt in a fair democratic election? Why should a carefully Democrat-selected biased jury be permitted to decide for the American people?
The Disappearance of Integrity from the Western World
Paul Craig Roberts
It is September and time for my quarterly request that some of you who are not monthly donors provide some financial support for this website if it is to continue.
Because of the organized suppression of facts and because of the campaigns against truth-tellers, it is increasingly difficult and risky to provide truthful accounts. Only writers who support the official narratives are tolerated.
Retribution is becoming commonplace. The level of retribution depends upon the level of threat the writer is perceived to present. Julian Assange is the top level threat because of his worldwide reach via Wikileaks and his courage to publish leaks revealing war crimes and other criminal actions of the United States government. Assange has been incarcerated without trial in one form or another for a decade. In recent years Assange has been held in solitary confinement in a British maximum security prison while the corrupt British legal system goes through the motions pretending to comply with British law, but always delivering the result its Washington master demands. This process could not make it more clear that subservience to Washington trumps the integrity of the British judicial system.
Washington’s insensitivity to war crimes, crimes against humanity, and blatant frame-ups of innocents has brutalized the entire world’s respect for moral and ethical behavior.
Independent scientists, experts and journalists who are seen as lesser threats than Assange find themselves cancelled, de-platformed, marginalized, fired, and their medical licenses stolen for refusing to follow the deadly Covid protocols. Just the other day Germany convicted one of the country’s own judges for listening to the expert evidence and ruling against the government’s mask mandate. In other words, evidence that contradicts the narrative has been criminalized by the German judicial system.https://www.globalresearch.ca/german-court-sentences-judge-mask-mandates/5830725
We see the same thing in the false indictments of President Trump. What Trump is actually indicted for is questioning on the basis of real evidence the extraordinary overnight reversal in the 2020 election vote count. Trump’s “felony” is that he raised the question of electoral fraud, a question usually raised in every election. Remember, George W. Bush’s election was so questioned by Democrats that it had to be decided by the US Supreme Court.
Glenn Greenwald, Matt Taibbi, and James O’Keefe were fired from the organizations they created or in Taibbi’s case served as the most followed writer. Not content with O’Keefe’s removal from his own forum, a corrupt NY prosecutor is now “investigating” O’Keefe for “mistreating employees and misspending the organization’s funds.” Again, as in Trump’s and Assange’s cases, we see the creation of crimes out of thin air in order to silence a truth-teller dangerous to a corrupt establishment that will not let go of its illegitimate hold on power.
Matt Taibbi reported one year ago that YouTube censored Matt Orfalea’s factually accurate video presentation, “‘Rigged’ Election Claims, Trump 2020 vs. Clinton 2016,” demonized it as “elections misinformation,” and set itself up as legislator, prosecutor, judge, and jury by declaring Orfalea in violation of YouTube’s “criminal organizations policy.” How does social media have integrity when social media declares careful examination of a public issue to be a criminal offense that carries a de-platforming sentence? https://www.racket.news/p/youtube-hits-orf-again-as-censorship?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email
Blue pill people might think they are safe as long as they keep their heads in the sand and their mouths shut. But Taibbi says that is not the case and that the noose is tightening on every one:
“Independent media content is increasingly hard to find via platform searches, even when exact terminology, bylines, or dates are entered by users. Social media platforms that once provided effective marketing and distribution at little to no cost are now difficult to navigate even with the aid of paid boosting tools. In other words, even if your business does well enough to pay full retail rates for marketing, a widening lattice of algorithmic restriction across platforms is making distribution for non-corporate media a nightmare anyway.”
And remember Tucker Carlson, the most important and profitable media voice, was fired by Fox News for his relentless exposing of the ruling elite’s false narratives. Fox News took a huge financial hit for itself and its shareholders in its attempt to shut down an effective truth-teller. Obviously, controlling the narrative is more important than profit.
Just as the message has been made clear to Germany’s judges that judges who dispense actual justice will be imprisoned, the message has been made clear to scientists, experts, medical doctors, and independent journalists that if they tell the truth their careers and lives will be ruined.
My level of threat is being dealt with by exclusion and by libel, slander, and ad hominem attacks. Over the weekend I was cleaning out a garage. I came upon boxes of tapes of my television appearances on Good Morning America, the Today Show, the Brinkley show, C-Span, and all the rest. Today I am not allowed on any American TV. I also discovered boxes of files of my articles published in The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Business Week, the London Times, the Telegraph, TLS, the leading French and Italian newspapers, where it is impossible for me to publish a word today.
Another way they deal with you is on website comment sections where trolls hiding behind false names and serving a variety of interests ridicule, slander, misrepresent, and demonize you in efforts to damage your credibility and scare readers away. It works on weak-minded people who have never thought independently in their life and are fearful of differing from their blue pill peers.
As unfortunate as it is, many Americans are blue pill people. They prefer the reassurances of a false narrative to the stresses of reality. Reality is too much for them. It requires more intellectual and emotional strength than they have. They are easily led into the camp that disparages truth as misinformation. As truth is upsetting, they are delighted to have it dispensed with.
Search the Western world for integrity. You cannot find it in any governing party. You cannot find it in any institution, whether educational, justice, corporate, media, medical, legal.
How does the FBI have integrity when the organization frames the President of the United States and his supporters?
How does the CIA have integrity when the organization overthrows foreign governments that do not turn their countries over to Washington and the New York Banks?
How do Tony Fauci, NIH, CDC, FDA, WHO have integrity when they use the inaccurate PCR test to overstate the Covid threat in order to make the people fearful, prohibit the use of known Covid cures such as Ivermectin and HCQ, arrange incentives for hospitals to lie and report every death as a Covid death, lie about the safety and effectiveness of the deadly “vaccine,” deny that there are any adverse reactions to the Covid jab to the extent that the CDC ceases to compile VAERS data ( https://www.lewrockwell.com/2023/08/no_author/cdc-now-refusing-new-covid-vaccine-adverse-event-reports-in-its-v-safe-program/ ), count flu cases as Covid cases (remember the year there was zero flu cases?), and, as there was no accountability, are now in the process of orchestrating another “Covid threat,” a new round of “vaccination,” and the return of masks and lockdowns?
How does Justice Department prosecutor Jack Smith have integrity when a federal judge has to stop him from trying Trump on Florida charges in a D.C. court with an all-Democrat Trump-hating jury?
How does NY prosecutor Alvin Bragg have integrity when he cannot identify the federal charge he has brought against Trump or justify the trial of Trump on a federal charge in a state court?
How does Atlanta prosecutor Fani Willis have integrity when she brings racketeering charges against President Trump for questioning an election outcome?
Prosecutors devoid of integrity are tyrannical.
How does the judiciary have integrity when judges permit such blatantly false prosecutions?
How do law schools, bar associations, and media have integrity when they egg on wrongful prosecutions because they dislike the defendant?
How do school boards have integrity when parents opposed to the brainwashing of their children are arrested or thrown out of the school board meetings?
How do Democrats have integrity when they are removing Trump from the ballot in blue states on the grounds that he is a criminal by their accusation alone prior to his rigged trials?
How do RINO Republicans, who are in open conspiracy with Democrats to prevent Trump’s election as President, have integrity?
Ask yourself, why not allow the American people in place of a tiny biased jury, to decide Trump’s innocence or guilt in a fair democratic election? Why should a carefully Democrat-selected biased jury be permitted to decide for the American people? How can a Democrat Party, media, and Justice (sic) Department that tries to pull a fast one like this have any integrity?
Ask the same question about every institution, including your local property owners’ association.
What becomes of a country devoid of integrity?
What does the world think of country that poses as “exceptional and indispensable” while it violates every known moral principle and exploits the rest of the world?
Before you ignore my request for support, ask yourself where else you can find analysis like this:
