“The Only God” | Alistair Begg

Can knowing the God of the Bible help us tackle life’s issues or fix our problems? The closing verse of Jude’s letter returns his readers to where he began, focusing on the greatness of “the only God, our Savior,” who has dominion and authority over all things. Far from being impractical or irrelevant, as this and every worldly culture is prone to think, Alistair Begg reminds us that knowing God through Christ provides the only framework, focus, and foundation for living an abundant life.

Good News | Bible Apologetics – A DAILY DEVOTIONAL.

Have you ever wondered what life was like 2,000 years ago when Jesus walked this earth? Back in the Roman Empire during the time of Jesus life was cheap and expendable. Fully 25% of the people were slaves, those who were sick and in poverty were rarely cared for, and the concept of the ancient gods loving people was unheard of. Fast forward to the year 2023 and what do we find today in many third world countries? Poverty is rampant, sickness abounds, and hope for a better future is almost non-existent. Even in the developed countries of today millions in America are addicted to drugs and alcohol, over a billion people in China live under communist rule, and hundreds of thousands of the inhabitants of Calcutta India live their entire lives on the streets of that city.

Many ask where is the God of the Bible during these times and situations. And if God is so good why does He allow such tragic conditions to continue. I think that this question, which was posed years ago to Mother Teresa, can help give us the answer. Someone once asked her if God is so good why does he allow millions of people to go hungry every day? Her answer was quick and telling. She said that don’t blame God for there is enough food in our world to feed everyone if we would just care a little more for our fellow man and distribute food more evenly.

My friends it is because of sin that our world has gone haywire. Fortunately, Christians have, down through the centuries, done much to alleviate human suffering through a host of humanitarian aid programs. But because of sin and human depravity these measures can only alleviate so much. Along with humanitarian aid Christians are the only people that can share true and lasting hope for a truly hurting planet. In perhaps one of the most wonderful verses in all of Scripture, (Luke 2:10) gives us the antidote to all of this human suffering when it says: “And so, the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.’”

I love this verse for three reasons. First, the angel brings good news. Another name for good news is the Gospel. Jesus Christ is the best news we can ever share with a hurting world. Second, the angel says that this news will bring great joy since Jesus’ death on the cross can free us from the bondage of sin. Not only that but His resurrection promises us eternal life! And third, the angel says that this good news is for everyone. Jesus extends His wonderful invitation for a new life of hope to all who will come to Him.

Without an understanding that sin is the root cause of all the issues we see all around us we will never realize that Jesus is the only solution to this universal problem. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is indeed good news that can bring great joy to everyone. In closing I am not saying that if you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior that you won’t get sick or still struggle financially. But even if you do, you can still experience the joy of knowing that Jesus will always be near you, loving you and cheering you on through all of life’s tribulations. And that one day, no matter how bad a shake you got in this life, you will receive the gift of eternal life with Jesus!

Sufferers Make Strong Believers | VCY

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. (Lamentations 3:27)

This is as good as a promise. It has been good, it is good, and it will be good for me to bear the yoke.

Early in life I had to feel the weight of conviction, and ever since it has proved a soul-enriching burden. Should I have loved the gospel so well had I not learned by deep experience the need of salvation by grace? Jabez was more honorable than his brethren because his mother bare him with sorrow, and those who suffer much in being born unto God make strong believers in sovereign grace.

The yoke of censure is an irksome one, but it prepares a man for future honor. He is not fit to be a leader who has not run the gauntlet of contempt. Praise intoxicates if it be not preceded by abuse. Men who rise to eminence without struggle usually fall into dishonor.

The yoke of affliction, disappointment, and excessive labor is by no means to be sought for; but when the Lord lays it on us in our youth, it frequently develops a character which glorifies God and blesses the church.

Come, my soul, bow thy neck; take up they cross. It was good for thee when young; it will not harm thee now. For Jesus’ sake, shoulder it carefully.

In this series, we invite you to consider what obeying that directive looks like by revisiting listeners’ favorite messages from the past year.

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” With this timeless observation, the Preacher of Ecclesiastes reminds us that life is never constant. Yet while the needs of the moment may change, as the Preacher reminds us, this central imperative remains the same: “Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”

In this series, we invite you to consider what obeying that directive looks like by revisiting listeners’ favorite messages from the past year. Like the Bible itself, these sermons touch on a variety of aspects of life in God’s world—a life that would be hopeless and helpless without the good news of Jesus. Thankfully, though, as Alistair Begg faithfully reminds us, both hope and help are indeed ours when we receive the gift of God’s bountiful grace.

Fear | Daily Devotionals by Thoughts about God.

fear

Fear is something that we all experience at some time in our lives. Our bodies cope by sending a surge of adrenaline rushing through us as a “flight or fight” mechanism and we feel ‘wired’.  There are so many things of which we are fearful; it may be losing our job, being in a violent relationship, or perhaps the realization of the imminent loss of a loved one.  The fear of what is happening in the world with regards to global warming is frightening to many people.  We are experiencing so many changes in our weather leading to extremes of temperature, devastating cyclones and floods.

When we are gripped by fear we are robbing ourselves of the potential to be all that God intends us to be.   I am not trivializing these fears, but I do want to emphasis one of God’s many promises to us.

For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  2 Timothy 1:7

Some translations read “self-control” instead of “a sound mind” and I relate more to those words.  I know that when I am fearful I cannot think straight, I panic and totally lose my direction. I no longer focus and forget that God has given me the power, love and self-control to overcome any stifling fear.  We need to commit these words of Timothy to our memory so that when we are faced with situations beyond our control, we can rise above our fears and know that we have been given the power and the love to overcome.

Prayer: Lord, help me to be strong and to turn to you when I am fearful.  When I am afraid help me to remember your promise of power, love and a clear mind so that I may always be what you wish me to be, an instrument of Your peace and Your love.   Amen.

Jesus Coming For His Bride Isn’t Debatable… And We Should Make Ourselves Ready
The fact that Jesus is coming for His bride isn’t debatable. The Bible is clear. He will come for us in one of two ways. Either He will come for us at our death, or He will come for us at what is referred to as the Rapture—when believers will be caught up to meet Him in the air, as Paul described in 1 Thessalonians 4.

Dr. Robert Malone: COVID jabs were a CIA operation to depopulate the world
In a speech at the 2023 White Coat Summit, Dr. Robert Malone asked the crucial question about the so-called COVID vaccines: “Why would a government wish to advance this technology?”His reluctant conclusion is that the novel mRNA injections have been developed by the CIA to assist in a global depopulation program – which has existed in the United States since the 1970s. When we ask who are the puppet masters behind all this, we have to look the brutal truth in the face. That behind a lot of this is the U.S. government … in funding, policy and actions.

Biden Admin Goes Full ‘Banana Republic’ With Preposterous Trump Indictment | Ron Paul Institute for Peace And Prosperity

The Biden Administration’s indictment of former President Trump (again) not only smacks of desperation in the face of Biden’s flaccid support. It also is blatantly totalitarian and absurd. Essentially, Trump is being threatened with jail time for believing the 2020 election was not completely above-board and for sharing his beliefs. Even those who hate Trump should be terrified at the thought of Americans being imprisoned for having “bad thoughts.” Also today: Why is the US State Department ignoring the torture and illegal incarceration of American journalist Gonzalo Lira at the hands of the Ukrainian government? Today on the Liberty Report:

FEATURED ANALYSIS

Mike Pence Is ‘Too Honest’

That’s what Donald Trump told his vice president when Pence said he didn’t have power over the 2020 election results.

Nate Jackson

Donald Trump and Mike Pence had a tremendous four-year run as the America First team. The accomplishments the two achieved together were incredibly impressive and vastly more than good enough to merit a second term. That the two men are now so very far apart and haven’t even spoken to each other in two years is a terrible shame.

The Trump-Pence ticket didn’t win a second term because the 2020 election was rigged. But that also depends heavily on what you mean by rigged.

What we mean is that Democrats used COVID to rewrite the way elections are conducted, greatly expanding bulk-mail balloting, thereby capitalizing on the incredible motivator of Trump Derangement Syndrome and allowing an election that could not possibly have full integrity because of the way signatures on mail-in ballots were verified in so many closely contested states.

We also mean the Leftmedia put its collective elbow on the scales in favor of Basement Joe Biden by playing up COVID as somehow Trump’s failure and by suppressing the October 2020 story that Biden ran a family corruption ring through his influence-peddling son. Nearly three years later, we’re still learning just how deep that rot goes. We believe that if voters had been allowed to know what was already exposed in 2020, they wouldn’t have elected the “Big Guy.”

What Trump means by a rigged election is that he “won every state” and Democrats stole it — with the help of Mike Pence, who refused to exercise the power Trump insisted a vice president had to reject the electoral vote count in Congress on January 6, 2021.

“You know I don’t think I have the authority to change the outcome,” Pence told Trump during a Christmas Day 2020 phone call according to notes he was asked to turn over to federal prosecutors.

After more debate, cajoling, and threats from Trump, the president told his veep something that speaks volumes about the diverging paths of the two men: “You’re too honest.”

On January 4, 2021, Trump and Pence met with attorney John Eastman (likely co-conspirator 2 in Jack Smith’s horrendous indictment) to discuss whether Pence had the authority Trump wanted him to have. Pence asked Eastman if the plan was “defensible.”

“Well, nobody’s tested it before,” Eastman replied. Pence then said to Trump: “Did you hear that? Even your own counsel is not saying I have that authority.”

Inexplicably, none of them thought to call President Al Gore to ask how he had pulled off overturning the disputed election results in 2000.

Sarcasm aside, we’ve argued before that Pence was right — he clearly didn’t have the authority.

On January 6, Trump tweeted, “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done.” That same day, someone showed up to the Capitol with gallows to “hang Mike Pence,” and the vice president likely wouldn’t have had a great day if the violent mob had found him.

Fast-forward to this week, and, post-indictment, Trump and Pence are trading barbs.

“On January 6th, Former President Trump demanded that I choose between him and the Constitution,” Pence said in a statement about the indictment. “I chose the Constitution and I always will.” He added: “Our country is more important than one man. Our Constitution is more important than any one man’s career.” He continued, “Today’s indictment serves as an important reminder: anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be President of the United States.”

Later, he told reporters: “I’d hoped it wouldn’t come to this. I had hoped that this issue and the judgment of the president’s actions that day would be left to the American people. But now it’s been brought in a criminal indictment. And I can’t assess whether or not the government has the evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt what they assert in the indictment. And the president’s entitled to a presumption of innocence.”

Moreover, he added: “You know, I’m a student of American history. And the first time I heard in early December somebody suggest that as vice president I might be able to decide which votes to reject and which to accept, I knew that it was false. … I dismissed it out of hand. Sadly, the president was surrounded by a group of crackpot lawyers that kept telling him what his itching ears wanted to hear.”

Many Trump supporters hate Pence’s guts for January 6, and his comments only add to their ire. We dare say that’s why, despite being a good guy, the former vice president is stuck at about 4% in the polls and will himself almost certainly never be president.

Trump was absolutely right in 2016 when he said, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters.” Cross him, and you’ll pay the price. Like so many other Trump administration officials, Pence clearly has paid, and he resents being thrown under the bus — maybe all the more after four years of steadfast loyalty at Trump’s side.

Trump hit back via Truth Social: “I feel badly for Mike Pence, who is attracting no crowds, enthusiasm, or loyalty from people who, as a member of the Trump Administration, should be loving him. He didn’t fight against Election Fraud, which we will now be easily able to prove based on the most recent Fake Indictment & information which will have to be made available to us, finally — a really BIG deal. The V.P. had power that Mike didn’t understand, but after the Election, the RINOS & Dems changed the law, taking that power away!”

As for proving beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump is guilty, Pence may end up being a key witness against Trump when Smith’s joke of an indictment goes to trial. Smith’s case hinges on whether Trump knew or believed he was lying, and the prosecutor clearly intends to use Trump’s “too honest” comment to make that case. Former Attorney General Bill Barr, for one, asserted yesterday, “He knew well he had lost the election.”

The former president and his right-hand man are at an impasse that in a way is a microcosm of the Republican Party.

Trump and his most devoted supporters will never forgive Pence for what they see as betrayal on January 6. Nothing else matters. Pence and many other Republicans believe Trump’s post-election behavior and statements were disgraceful and disqualifying. It’s nigh impossible to reconcile those two sides.

Naturally, Trump touts his enormous lead in the polls — he’s at 54% nationally. It’s a task of epic proportions for any other candidate to change that, though nearly half of Trump supporters do say they’re still willing to consider another GOP candidate.

The former president has the undying loyalty of many supporters going for him, and he can generate an awful lot of sympathy and outrage for the banana republic-style persecution he’s enduring. Right now at least, it looks like it’ll be enough to win him the nomination, no matter what Pence says.

The Founders Warned Us

Their fears have been repeatedly vindicated, especially in our day when neither party can see merit in ideas coming from the other party.

Cal Thomas

That America’s Founders were brilliant men supported by equally strong women is beyond dispute. They created a framework for a new nation and a Constitution which, if obeyed, would provide protection from big government and ensure individual liberty on a scale unknown in the world at that time.

The one thing they avoided in the Constitution and Bill of Rights was political parties. They made no mention of them, and for good reason. According to History.com, “The framers of the new Constitution desperately wanted to avoid the divisions that had ripped England apart in the bloody civil wars of the 17th century. Many of them saw parties — or ‘factions,’ as they called them — as corrupt relics of the monarchical British system that they wanted to discard in favor of a truly democratic government.”

Talk about hindsight leading to foresight. Their fears have been repeatedly vindicated, especially in our day when neither party can see merit in ideas coming from the other party, even if they are good ideas and the media enjoy fanning flames of division more than putting out fires. Only the other party is corrupt and no amount of evidence can persuade or convince otherwise. The latest examples are the alleged crimes committed by President Biden and his family and the numerous charges and criminal indictments piling up against Donald Trump.

Never in our history to my recollection has there been one party leader under indictment (with more to come) and the other accused of criminal wrongdoing in connection to alleged influence peddling by his son.

Back to the lessons History.com can teach us: “Alexander Hamilton once called political parties ‘the most fatal disease’ of popular governments. James Madison, who worked with Hamilton to defend the new Constitution to the public in the Federalist Papers, wrote in Federalist 10 that one of the functions of a ‘well-constructed Union’ should be ‘its tendency to break and control the violence of faction.’”

Some of the Founders disagreed, most notably Thomas Jefferson, whom Democrats claim was their first president: “(Jefferson) believed it was a mistake not to provide for different political parties in the new government. ‘Men by their constitutions are naturally divided into two parties,’ he would write in 1824.”

Perhaps George Washington, who ran unopposed to win the nation’s first election in 1789, sensed what was coming when he named Jefferson to his cabinet so it would be inclusive (in the language of our day) of different viewpoints.

When polls show a majority of Republicans and Democrats are dissatisfied with the front-runners for president, perhaps it’s time to create another way to select presidential candidates. Probably few want to go back to the days of what came to be known as “smoke-filled rooms,” where candidates were selected by an inner circle of power brokers and the well-connected.

As noted by many commentators, the primary system usually produces candidates with the most extreme views in both parties and voters too often complain of having to hold their noses and vote for the one they dislike the least.

Could there be a better way? Could we find qualified candidates who are willing to run and face the predictable and often unfair criticism — and lies — told by members of the other party?

The “No Labels” movement thinks its way is the path out of this morass, but just removing labels does little to deal with issues or solve problems. If the idea is to water down legitimate divisions — taxes, spending, entitlement reform, border security, moral decline being among them — that can only add to our national angst.

Will someone(s) with sufficient vision who loves America and wants to see it preserved, protected and defended, please step forward and propose a better way than what we have now? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you, whomever you may be.

Ashley Biden Confirms Creepy Joe

The president’s daughter admits the salacious diary was, in fact, hers.

Emmy Griffin

President Joe Biden has been painted as a kindly old gentleman, a loving father, a harmless grandpa who loves his family. The myriad realities of this media-baked illusion are quickly being uncovered. Joe Biden is not a kind person, he’s not a loving father, and he’s a deadbeat granddad who only loves all his grandchildren if it’s politically expedient. All his corruption and sin are coming out of the woodwork and he is looking scummier and scummier.

The Ashley Biden diary has bubbled back to the surface with a devastating new confirmation. Even back in 2022 when our Nate Jackson was covering the sordid story, the actions of the FBI and the Dems’ panic were confirmation in and of themselves. Project Veritas recently released a video with the voice recording of an undercover journalist’s conversation with the president’s daughter claiming all the items are hers.

Project Veritas has a special purpose in releasing the confirmation now. The Press Act is a bill that protects the First Amendment rights of journalists, and it is now before the Senate. So the timing is pertinent.

For the overall commentary on the president, this should immediately put to bed any notion that Biden is a man of integrity. He is a man who, according to the diary of Ashley Biden, allegedly molested her and took showers with her. She attributed her struggles with drug and sex addiction to this early sexualization.

Yet the media, the federal agencies, and Big Tech protected him and continue to circle the wagons.

How horribly heartbreaking. Ashley will have no justice; she is a sacrifice to the political ambition and perverted attention of her father. As Hot Air’s Beege Welborn asks: “Federal agencies sure do spend an inordinate amount of time playing ‘clean up’ for the Bidens. How does that happen? Who are these people? Who are these ‘Bidens’? What makes them special? They’re certainly not likable — not one of them. What is their magical power that enables a constant, protective, pro-active federal bubble enclosing their malevolent sphere for decades of unimpeded criminal enterprise?”

It certainly sheds a new light on the Leftmedia’s outright antagonism to Tim Ballard’s film “Sound of Freedom.” This film is about Ballard’s real-life experiences fighting to free children who are sex-trafficked. As you may recall, numerous Leftmedia articles chided the thriller as a “QAnon triumph,” dismissing this true story and the victims out of hand. It’s interesting to note that 200 sex-trafficking victims were just freed via an FBI raid, and 125 abusers are now rotting in jail. This is a real event, not a QAnon fever dream.

The Democrat media machine is happy to censor and dismiss the rampant problem that is child sex slavery. It justifies pedophilia by being complicit in the cover-up. President Biden and his alleged abuse of his daughter Ashley are getting the same treatment.

Elon Mush recently said, “Unless there are a few issues where you at least slightly disagree with your political party, then you are not in a political party, you are in a cult.” Are Democrats still willing to blindly cover for Creepy Joe? Is pedophilia officially a politically sanctioned stance of the party?

The mud sullying this president’s image keeps piling ever higher.

Executive News Summary

DeSantis’s Disney dumps DEI, Biden rebuked on gun regs, NYC’s bad crime plan, and more.

Thomas Gallatin & Jordan Candler

Cross-Examination

  • Good news: DeSantis’s Disney dumps DEI: In a clear win for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his crusade against wokeness, the Reedy Creek Improvement District reversed course on pushing the Left’s Marxist ideology of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” at Disney. The new director of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, Glenton Gilzean, explained, “The so-called diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives were advanced during the tenure of the previous board and they were illegal and simply unAmerican.” He added, “Our district will no longer participate in any attempt to divide us by race or advance the notion that we are not created equal.” The new board discovered that the Disney-controlled Reedy Creek District had been routinely awarding contracts based upon a business owner’s race or gender “to ensure that contractors met a certain threshold of diversity.” While some conservatives have been critical of DeSantis for “picking a fight with Disney,” what he has demonstrated is the willingness to use the power of government to uphold Floridians’ civil rights and combat the fundamentally racist nature of woke ideology. And he is getting real results.
  • Good news: Biden rebuked on gun regs: A panel of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has put the brakes on Joe Biden’s recent Second Amendment-infringing regulation, the requirement that gun owners register their pistol braces. Gun rights advocates quickly objected to the new regulation, which went into effect on June 1. Two Texas gun owners filed a lawsuit challenging the new rule. In a decision to block the rule, the court contended that the Biden administration’s pistol brace registration requirement would likely not survive a legal challenge. In other words, it’s unconstitutional.
  • “Bidenvilles of homelessness”: Thanks to Joe Biden’s de facto open-border policy, the massive influx of illegal immigrants has created a surge in homelessness in America’s major cities. Cities such as New York City have seen their homeless shelters overfill as thousands of illegal aliens have moved in. With the shelters filled, the population of homeless has spilled out onto city sidewalks. Tent cities have formed in many public parks, filled with homeless, which are now being dubbed “Bidenvilles.” Of course, many of these Bidenvilles have sprung up in Democrat-run self-proclaimed “sanctuary cities,” and residents are becoming fed up. Well, when they go to cast their vote in 2024, there is clearly only one party to blame — the Democrat Party that invited this mess in the first place.
  • Record temps don’t deter illegal immigration: The surge in migrants illegally entering the U.S. has not slowed down this summer despite the hot weather. Past summers saw a lull in the number of border crossings, but this year the opposite has occurred. U.S. Border Patrol reports that in June there were 99,545 illegals interdicted and in July the number rose to more than 130,000. Temperatures reached over 110 degrees in Arizona for much of July and have been very high elsewhere in the Southwest. Yet according to CBP records, last month saw the highest one-month total in illegal crossings in the Tucson sector in 15 years. The reason has everything to do with Joe Biden’s immigration policy — migrants know that if they can get across, then they will most likely be able to stay, so they are willing to brave the oppressive heat. Meanwhile, the Pentagon is now pulling 1,100 troops from the border after deploying them earlier this year in lieu of Title 42 ending.
  • It’s a conspiracy: During a two-week operation in July dubbed “Operation Cross Country,” the FBI was able to locate and free 200 sex-trafficking victims, 59 of whom were children. Furthermore, the operation was able to identify or arrest 68 traffickers and 126 individuals suspected of child sex exploitation. Attorney General Merrick Garland observed, “Sex traffickers exploit and endanger some of the most vulnerable members of our society and cause their victims unimaginable harm.” Michelle DeLaune, president and CEO of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), noted, “As a society, we must work together to ensure the protection, support, and empowerment of those impacted by this heinous crime.” Exactly, but that cannot happen when much of the Leftmedia reacts to exposing the problem as promoting some conspiracy theory.
  • NYC’s bad crime plan: Instead of spending money on expanding the number of officers in the New York City Police Department, Mayor Eric Adams’s new plan to fight spiking crime in the Big Apple is to spend money on building more housing, more youth job opportunities, and more mental health programs. Wondering how this will immediately and directly tackle surging violent crime in the city is apparently to ask the wrong question. The city’s “gun violence” task force calls its $500 million plan the “Blueprint for Community Safety,” which Adams claims will help “stop the violence before it happens on our streets.” What it actually looks like is a shakedown of NYC taxpayers wrapped in a feel-good virtue signal that does nothing to actually stop criminals.

DeSantis vs. Harris vs. Slavery

The Florida governor and Republican presidential candidate calls VP Kamala Harris’s bluff.

Thomas Gallatin

A little over a week ago, Kamala Harris did what Democrats have been squawking about for the last several years — she spread disinformation. Of course, in Harris’s case it was a lie regarding the state of Florida’s new black history curriculum.

Harris’s false claim was that the Sunshine State is going “to replace history with lies” and that “Middle school students in Florida [are] to be told that enslaved people benefited from slavery.” That claim is as bogus as a $3 bill, as we and many others have noted.

Florida’s popular Republican governor, Ron DeSantis, was quick to defend his state’s education board against Harris’s spurious claim. “Democrats like Kamala Harris,” he said, “have to lie about Florida’s educational standards to cover for their agenda of indoctrinating students and pushing sexual topics onto children.” Bingo.

However, rather than take her medicine and go home, Harris responded by going full Joseph Goebbels, as she doubled down on her blatant lie. “I think that this is just a matter of whether one chooses to speak fact and truth or not, and it’s pretty much that simple,” Harris huffed. “I don’t think this is up to any ideological debate to say that people who were enslaved did not benefit from slavery, period.”

Well, DeSantis wasn’t done schooling Harris either, as he sent the vice president an invitation for a debate:

I am prepared to meet as early as Wednesday of this week, but of course want to be deferential to your busy schedule should you already have a trip to the southern border planned for that day. Please let me know as soon as possible. What an example we could set for the nation — a serious conversation on the substance of an important issue! I hope you’re feeling up to it.

(Note: DeSantis accepted California Governor Gavin Newsom’s debate challenge — date and setting TBD.)

In his letter to Harris, DeSantis further charged, “The Biden Administration has repeatedly disparaged our state and misinformed Americans about our education system.” He continued, “Our state pushed forward nation-leading standalone African American History standards — one of the only states in the nation to require this level of learning about such an important subject. One would think the White House would applaud such boldness in teaching the unique and important story of African American History.”

Harris responded by rejecting the invite and then once again promulgating her debunked lie. “I’m here in Florida,” she announced, “and I will tell you there is no roundtable, no lecture, no invitation we will accept to debate an undeniable fact. There were no redeeming qualities of slavery.”

Once again, no one is teaching that there are redeeming qualities to slavery — not Florida, not DeSantis, no one. But this is the lie that Harris and the Biden administration are invested in promulgating in an underhanded effort to promote their own political agenda.

Lies and gaslighting are apparently all the Biden administration knows. Like the cowardly schoolyard bully who breathes out boastful threats but is unwilling to actually face the music. Biden and company spread lies about their political opponents and policy accomplishments but refuse to show up on an equal playing field to defend their spurious claims. In fact, they suggest that deigning to defend their accusations against their opponents would be morally reprehensible and a platforming of “misinformation.”

Obviously this whole charade is an effort by the Biden administration to falsely paint DeSantis and Republicans in general as slavery apologists. Nothing could be further from the truth, of course, as the Republican Party was founded on the platform of opposition to slavery. Republicans never were and never have been in favor of slavery. The party that does have a long history of being both proponents of and apologists for slavery is the party that Harris just happens to be a member of.

Finally, a parting tongue-in-cheek question: Why is it that Harris is so committed to devaluing the lived experience of slaves?

Meet the Company Trying to Control Your Mind

Even the content you consume from independent content creators on social media platforms is subject to globalist powers.

Ben Shapiro

There’s a group of people who control what you are allowed to see — the news you read, the videos you watch, the posts you engage with.

You haven’t heard of them. You don’t know their names, but they determine, through methods both direct and indirect, whether you are allowed to be exposed to particular messages. Their decisions can bankrupt companies, silence voices and fundamentally shift cultural norms. Who are these people and how do they do this?

Well, at the top level you have a network of global elites who have created a universal framework full of guidelines and ratings designed to enforce “approved” narratives and punish disapproved ones. It sounds like a conspiracy theory, except it isn’t a secret and we’re not guessing.

First, you have the World Economic Forum, the WEF, and their platform for shaping the future of media, entertainment and culture. Second, you have the World Federation of Advertisers, the WFA, who represent mega-corporations that control 90% of global advertising dollars. WFA members are a who’s who of global business and include some of our recent wokeified favorites like Bud Light’s parent company Anheuser-Busch InBev, Hershey, Procter & Gamble, Lego and Disney.

There is barely a billionaire Fortune 500 CEO, heavyweight philanthropist, government or woke nonprofit that isn’t associated with the WEF or the WFA.

In 2019, the WFA established the Global Alliance for Responsible Media, or GARM. Within months, the WEF adopted GARM as part of its platform for shaping the future of media, entertainment and culture. GARM is a cross-industry alliance that brings these mega-corporations — the advertisers — together with Big Tech companies like Meta, who owns Facebook and Instagram; Google-owned YouTube; the CCP’s TikTok; and even Snapchat and Pinterest.

This unholy alliance created something they call the Brand Safety Floor & Suitability Framework. Think of Brand Safety as a dog whistle for censorship. They say it themselves: The Brand Safety Floor means, “Content not appropriate for any advertising support.” In other words, if you publish content that violates these guidelines, you will be blacklisted from 90% of the advertising revenue in the marketplace.

So, what have these global elites decided to put in their censorship framework? They started with things we can all universally agree on, like preventing the distribution of child pornography or the advocacy of graphic terrorist activity. But they don’t draw the line at what is objectively criminal, abusive or dangerous. They continue expanding the guidelines to include far more subjective parameters.

For example, the framework lists subjective terms like “hate speech” as a problem. It says that anything surrounding transgenderism that they decide is dehumanizing or discussing what they deem to be a debated social issue in an insensitive way is off limits.

The framework is deliberately vague, allowing those in control to pick and choose how they enforce it and against whom.

So, how exactly do the approved narratives set by these global entities get enforced all the way down to the daily content you consume?

Well, here’s how. We’ll start with NewsGuard. NewsGuard is an organization that formulates ratings for American media. They rank news sites on a 0-to-100 scale based on nine supposedly apolitical criteria. These criteria are anything but apolitical. They often align with left-wing positions.

During the height of COVID-19, NewsGuard falsely labeled and downgraded 21 news sites, only well after the fact admitting that they either “mischaracterized the site’s claims” about the lab leak theory — referring to the lab leak theory as a “conspiracy theory” — or “wrongly grouped together unproven claims” about the lab leak with the “separate, false claim” that the “COVID-19 virus was man-made” without explaining that one claim was unsubstantiated and the other was false.

“NewsGuard apologizes for these errors,” they said. “We have made the appropriate correction on each of the 21 labels.”

And when you compare their ratings of Left-leaning news organizations to Right-leaning news organizations, you see the same bias appear.

The Media Research Center, a free-speech nonprofit, studied NewsGuards’ ratings. The study found glaring examples of bias by NewsGuard.

The Left’s BuzzFeed managed a 100 out of 100 perfect score, despite its reporting on the Steele dossier and alleging collusion between former President Donald Trump and Russia.

The study found that The Global Times, a Chinese propaganda government outlet, scored a 39.5 — that is 27 points higher than the U.S.-based conservative outlet The Federalist. Despite a scandal at USA Today revealing the publication of multiple fabricated sources in their stories and their own fact-checking operation misleading readers on the history of the Democratic Party and the KKK, USA Today maintained the 100 out of 100 rating by NewsGuard.

NewsGuard is also working with others to use AI technology to enforce Brand Safety standards at scale, by identifying scalable hoaxes and misinformation in order to streamline blanket removal. This means that the news that you read, news that is supposed to be fair and objective or at least diverse, must adhere to GARM, the WEF, the WFA and their subjective and biased standards in order to be deemed monetizable.

If you think this is only something big news corporations have to contend with, think again. Even the content you consume from independent content creators on social media platforms is subject to these globalist powers that be.

The WEF, GARM and the WFA are all actively working with social media companies to censor what they consider to be misinformation, which very often is just good information with which they disagree.

Finally, the WEF, WFA and GARM are all aggressively pouring billions of dollars a year into news and content that drives their preferred narrative — narratives that are often counterfactual at best and harmful at worst.

When you look at the news, you need to feel as though you’re getting all the information. And even if one source isn’t giving you all the information, you can find another source, and all the sources together will give you a broad view of the world. But the World Economic Forum, World Federation of Advertisers and the Global Alliance for Responsible Media don’t want you to have a full view of the news.

They want you to see what they want you to see. And they will work to prevent anyone from disseminating information they don’t pre-approve. They are determining what you see, what you hear, what you watch. And that’s dangerous.

God or the devil: In whom do Americans really believe? | WND

A new low of 74% of Americans surveyed say God is “something they believe in,” down from 90% in 2004, according to a Gallup poll conducted in May.

The poll also finds that for the first time, less than 60% answered yes to the question of whether “hell” and “the devil” were “something they believe in.” Regarding belief in heaven, hell and the devil, 18%, 27% and 28% of respondents, respectively, answered directly that they “don’t believe in” those things.

“Americans’ beliefs regarding God, angels, heaven, hell and the devil have … fallen by double digits since 2001,” reports Gallup, America’s most famous pollster.

Gallup date based on May 2023 polling (Gallup website)

“Gallup has used this framework to measure belief in these spiritual entities five times since 2001, and the May 1-24, 2023, poll finds that each is at its lowest point,” the pollster reports. “Compared with 2001, belief in God and heaven is down the most (16 points each), while belief in hell has fallen 12 points, and the devil and angels are down 10 points each.”

Gallup reports that “regular churchgoers, Protestants and Republicans, in particular, remain largely resolute in their beliefs.”

Different questions, different results

But the percentage attached to Americans’ belief in God, or lack thereof, varies depending on how the question is asked, according to the pollster. In recent years, Gallup has asked Americans about whether they believe in God three different ways:

1) “Do you believe in God?” This yields the highest percentage of yes answers (81% in 2022, down from 92% in 2010).

2) “For each of the items I’m going to read you, please tell me whether it is something you believe in, something you’re not sure about, or something you don’t believe in.”

The items inquired about are: God, heaven, angels, hell and the devil.

3) “Which comes closes to describing you: you are convinced that God exists; you think God probably does not exist, but you are not sure; or, you are convinced that God does not exist?” This question has produced the lowest level of “belief” of the three, falling from 79% firm belief in God in 2004 to 64% in 2017.

The Gallup poll is only the latest of many surveys revealing Americans’ faltering belief in the Creator, as well as the moral beliefs historically attached to biblical faith. A 2022 Gallup survey using the “Do you believe in God?” format found: “81% say now that they believe in God, that’s down from 87% from just 2017, and is a new low in the organization’s polling,” WND reported in June 2022.

And a poll released in May by Christian pollster George Barna that drilled down into people’s actual beliefs about Christian principles found a mere 4% of overall Americans polled who possess a “biblical worldview,” down from 6%, while among born-again Christians, “the incidence of biblical worldview among them fell from 19% in 2020 to 13% in 2023.”

Here are some other findings from the poll, according to Gallup:

  • “Protestants are more likely than Catholics to believe in each of the five entities; however, broad majorities of Catholics still believe in each”;
  • “Between 78% and 87% of Republicans believe in the five entities [God, heaven, angels, hell and the devil], while 51% to 68% of independents do. From 56% to 66% of Democrats believe in God, angels and heaven, while less than half say they believe in hell and the devil”;
  • Compared to adults over 55 and between 35 and 54, “Fewer of those aged 18 to 34 believe in each of the five concepts, but majorities profess belief in all but the devil.”

5 biblical reasons for skepticism on UFO testimony | Christian Post

Scores of people lined up early to get a seat for today’s UFO hearing in the House Oversight Committee’s National Security Subcommittee. Lawmakers from both parties plied three former military officials, including whistleblower David Grusch, a former Air Force intelligence officer, on the nature of known UAP (unidentified aerial phenomena, the technical jargon for UFO) sightings and direction on how they could dig deeper. There was also bipartisan agreement on the “pressing demand for government transparency and accountability” regarding UAP reports.

The witnesses testified to seeing or hearing reports of colleagues seeing objects that appeared as a “dark gray or black cube inside a clear sphere,” with the cube’s corners touching the sphere, or red cubes the size of multiple football fields, which accelerated at uncanny rates. They alleged the military had conducted a multi-decade program for UAP crash retrieval and reverse engineering, which was funded without Congress’s knowledge or authorization.

Unfortunately for the curious public, Grusch and the other witnesses often declined to present new evidence of their claims to lawmakers outside a secure and confidential setting. Grusch complained that he and others faced “administrative terrorism” for speaking up about the UAP sightings and said he feared for his life at times because of the “brutal” treatment, making him afraid to disclose classified information.

Some of the whistleblowers’ sensational claims could be true — some people already believe them — but many people won’t be persuaded until the long-promised evidence has actually been presented. Some people naturally prefer to stick to the facts, while others have adopted a more cautious attitude in light of the proliferation of brazen hoaxes. Some people will credit some of the claims (such as the military running a secret UFO investigation program) more than others (such as the military recovering the deceased remains of extraterrestrial lifeforms). And others will write the whole business off as a fiasco dreamed up by paranoid conspiracy theorists.

Now, I enjoy intergalactic science fiction as much (possibly more) than the next guy — “Star Trek,” “Star Wars,” “Doctor Who,” etc. Perhaps a part of me could even wish that Vulcans, lightsabers, and spatially anomalous phone booths were real.

But a biblical worldview cautions against making more of these daydreams than what they really are — fiction. Granted, the Bible nowhere explicitly states that there are no living, intelligent creatures on other worlds, nor does it state that life on other planets is insupportable.

Nevertheless, there are solid, biblical reasons to doubt the existence of extraterrestrial life (spiritual beings excluded), particularly life forms intelligent enough to build vessels for travel to earth. These biblical reasons can provide Christians with a useful context for evaluating claims about UFOs or UAPs, even when they are made under oath in a congressional hearing. Here are five:

1. The curse affects all creation

In Genesis 3, God cursed the world for Adam’s sin, introducing suffering, pain, and death to human experience. In Romans 8:18-25, Paul states that this curse, the “sufferings of the present time,” has affected all creation. “We know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now” (Romans 8:22). One day, the sons of God will be revealed, and the curse will end, at which point “the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption.”

It may seem puzzling that God would curse all creation for the sin of man alone. But there is a solution in Genesis 1:26, where God gives man “dominion … over all the earth” and all its inhabitant creatures. Thus, the curse for man’s sin affects the realm man was given to rule.

That solution would be absurd if God created other living beings in a separate world, which were outside man’s dominion, and yet suffered for man’s sin. What is the logic of such a move? And why would a just God curse a world whose inhabitants had never sinned for a rebellion that occurred on another planet? But if a race of sinless creatures was exempted from the curse, then “the whole creation” would not be “groaning together” under its effects.

2. Salvation is for mankind

Another problem with hypothesizing a race of extraterrestrials is, if they had sinned, the Gospel of salvation is not offered to them. Before His ascension, Jesus told his disciples, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). He did not say “beyond the earth” or “to the ends of the stars.”

Nor does the Bible say it is God’s will to save members of other races. The Scriptures say God “desires all people to be saved” (1 Timothy 2:4) and the word translated “people” refers specifically to human beings.

3. Jesus died once for all sin

Nor is it possible that the Son of God reenacted has salvific mission on multiple worlds, initiating a church on each. “Christ also suffered once for sins,” wrote Peter (1 Peter 3:18). This fact is vital to the sufficiency and permanence of his blood’s saving power. He offered a sacrifice for sins “once for all when he offered up Himself” (Hebrews 7:27), and “He entered once for all into the holy places … by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption” (Hebrews 9:12).

Clearest of all, Paul wrote, “We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death He died he died to sin, once for all, but the life He lives He lives to God” (Romans 6:9-10). His dying once and living again once is a model for us of baptism, forsaking sin, and our future hope of eternal life.

Beyond that, there would be the difficulty of the second person of the Trinity becoming incarnate through another virgin conception in another race. When He took on a human body, His divine nature was permanently united to His human flesh; He ascended in that same body, and He will never shed it. “In him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily” (Colossians 2:9).

Would Christ’s sacrificial atonement avail for sinners on another planet? It wouldn’t be for lack of power. But it’s hard to see how His death and resurrection on earth, as a human, could have the same significance for members of another race on another planet. They did not join in the conspiracy to kill Him, as representatives of all mankind did (Acts 4:27). He would not be “made like [them] in every respect,” which is noted as essential to fulfilling the office of high priest on their behalf (Hebrews 2:17). If Jesus appeared to extraterrestrial creatures, the Gospel would be so different as to be an entirely different gospel.

4. Man is made in God’s image

Returning to Genesis 1, there we read that “God created man in his own image” (Genesis 1:27). This statement is foundational to the doctrine of man and is developed and fleshed out throughout Scripture.

Among other things, the image of God in man means that ensouled human beings are more precious than the living creatures over which man was given dominion — though those creatures, too, have value (see Proverbs 12:10, Jonah 4:11, Matthew 12:11-12).

But if there are extraterrestrial races capable of visiting earth, it raises all sorts of confusing questions for this doctrine. Do they have souls and moral agency? Do they too bear the image of God? If so, do they resemble humans? The questions could run on and on.

5. God created the heavens and the earth

Lastly, the existence of life on other planets upends the biblical categories of Heaven and earth. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). God gave man dominion over earth (Genesis 1:26), while He dwells in the heavens (1 Kings 8:30, etc.). These categories appear together hundreds of times throughout Scripture.

It is true that Scripture mentions various heavenly bodies. God created the sun, moon, and stars on the fourth day of creation (Genesis 1:14-19). And modern technology allows us to see the stunning variety and beauty God has created throughout the heavens. It is even true that man has managed to propel himself out of earth’s atmosphere and into the very nearest corner of the heavens. None of this fundamentally changes the categories of heavens (where God dwells) and earth (where man dwells).

But, if we ever discovered that another race dwelt on another planet somewhere else in the universe, there would be heavens and earths.

One might argue that the categories of Heaven and earth were merely God stooping to describe His creation in a way that ancient readers, who had no concept of space travel, could understand. After all, the Bible never discusses other planets, as distinct from stars, but we now know God created them too. The problem with this theory is that the Bible also describes the fiery destruction (2 Peter 3:7) and recreation (Revelation 21:1) of Heaven and earth, implying these categories still apply to our future.

By contrast, the existence of life on other planets is far more compatible with a secular-naturalist worldview: that the universe formed in a Big Bang, planets gradually and randomly took shape, and somehow life began on earth. In this interpretation, Planet Earth occupies no special role in the cosmos, and finding life anywhere else is just as plausible as finding it on earth. So, why not search for it? But this is not the biblical view.

Do these five reasons absolutely rule out life on other planets? The Renaissance-era controversy over a heliocentric model of the solar system stands as a caution against elevating one interpretation of the Bible over hard, scientific proof to the contrary. However, the existence of extraterrestrial life of any kind — particularly hyper-intelligent life forms capable of building vessels to traverse outer space — would pose significant challenges or complications to core Christian doctrines as they have stood for thousands of years.

For any Christian who believes these doctrines to be what God has communicated in Scripture, the choice should be clear. On one hand stands the infallible Word of God; the same God who has proven himself faithful and true more times than we could imagine. On the other hand stand thus far unsubstantiated claims made by men, and men have been known to lie, be mistaken, and change their minds. Even if the evidence seems to tip in favor of extraterrestrial life (which it hasn’t yet come close to doing), it’s always safer to trust the Word of God rather than the shifting consensus of men.

Of course, dismissing extraterrestrial explanations does not make military sightings of UAPs less concerning or dangerous. It still points to (a possibly hostile) intelligence with technology beyond our own, or even beyond our ability to track. It just means we should look for an explanation to our geopolitical rivals on this planet rather than another.

‘I’m a little p***ed off’: Former Capitol Police chief tells Tucker Carlson in leaked Fox interview that Jan. 6 events were a ‘cover-up’ – Conservative Review

Former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund told Tucker Carlson in a controversial interview that “everything appears to be a cover-up” as it pertains to the Jan. 6, 2021, protests at the U.S. Capitol.

Although Fox News kept that interview under wraps, the National Pulse has begun releasing segments wherein Sund provides critical insights into an event that has been used to great effect by Democrats and other forces antipathetic to former President Donald Trump.

When speaking to Russell Brand in early July, Carlson said he had initially taken an interest in the Jan. 6 protests due to all the “lying about it.”

“So, the more time has passed … it becomes really obvious that core claims they made about January 6 were lies,” said Carlson. “The amount of lying around January 6, and it was obvious in the tapes that I showed, is really distressing.”

Prior to his ouster at Fox, Carlson had aired previously unreleased footage of the protests that appeared to contradict the narrative that had been carefully constructed by the media and the Jan. 6 committee.

When speaking to Brand, Carlson referenced an eye-opening interview he had conducted with Sund while still at Fox News, saying, “I never thought it was a false flag or anything like that. I’m not a conspiracist by temperament. I never thought that. … And then I interviewed the chief of the Capitol Police, Steven Sund, in an interview that was never aired on Fox, by the way — I was fired before it could air.”

Sund, a police officer for over 30 years, had been head of the U.S. Capitol Police from 2019 through the protests, but resigned Jan. 7 amid claims by then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and others that “there was a failure of leadership at the top.”

In February 2021, Sund penned a letter to Pelosi and other congressional leaders, noting, “Perfect hindsight does not change the fact that nothing in our collective experience or our intelligence – including intelligence provided by FBI, Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and D.C. Metropolitan Police (MPD) – indicated that a well-coordinated, armed assault on the Capitol might occur on Jan. 6.”

Sund further noted that during a meeting with “a dozen of the top law enforcement and military officials from D.C., including the FBI, U.S. Secret Service and the National Guard,” no entity “provided any intelligence indicating that there would be a coordinated attack on the United States Capitol.”

“The entire intelligence community seems to have missed this,” he wrote.

Sund also intimated that the Capitol Police had been set up to fail.

Sund told WTTG-TV that he had asked House and Senate security officials for their permission to bring in the National Guard days ahead of the protests, but was denied. He also indicated he had asked for the National Guard several more times during the protests, but was repeatedly denied until their ultimate arrival at 5:40 p.m. on Jan. 6.

Around 19 minutes into the “Tucker Carlson Tonight” interview, which is being released by the National Pulse piecemeal, Sund says, “If people were reporting the intelligence correctly, if I was allowed to do my job as the chief … we wouldn’t be here. This didn’t have to happen,” stressing, “I’m a little pissed off.”

“Everything appears to be a cover-up,” continued Sund. “Like I said, I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but when you look at the information and intelligence they had, the military had, it’s all watered down. … I’m not getting intelligence, I’m denied any support from National Guard in advance. I’m denied National Guard while we’re under attack for 71 minutes.”

“You describe this as a failure to get intelligence to people who needed it, but it sounds like … they were hiding the intelligence,” said Carlson.

“That’s what I’m getting at,” said Sund. “Could there possibly be actually … they kind of wanted something to happen? It’s not a far stretch to begin to think that. You know, it’s sad when you start putting everything together and thinking about the way this played out. … What was their end goal? You look at what’s happening. Was that their end goal?”

Carlson responded, “There’s no question that what happened on January 6 has really helped the Democratic Party. It’s gravely politicized the U.S. military and the intelligence agencies and the FBI. And those are all, I think, bad for America and violations of the Constitution, but they’re all good for the Democratic Party. That’s the facts.”

Sund agreed, adding that in the wake of Jan. 6, the establishment has seen fit to strip the blindfold of neutrality from Lady Justice.

Raheem Kassam, editor in chief of the National Pulse, noted on Twitter that the Sund interview is “absolutely extraordinary” and emphasized that “none of us are suicidal, for the record.”

The next interview excerpt will reportedly broach the subject of Ray Epps and his involvement in the Jan. 6 protests.

Carlson previously indicated Sund had told him, “‘That crowd was filled with federal agents.'”
