The Reformation of the World – Pastor Patrick Hines Sermon (John 12:31-32)

John 12:31 “Now judgment is [upon] this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32 “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all [people] to Myself.” NASB20

From church website:

We subscribe to the Westminster Standards as our doctrinal statement. It consists of the following documents:

The Westminster Confession of Faith
The Westminster Larger Catechism
The Westminster Shorter Catechism

We also believe that Christian Worship is to be regulated and defined by God’s Word, the Bible.

Our worship services are designed to please and honor the Triune God of the Bible. We place Scripture reading and the preaching of the word of God at the center of worship along with Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. These are God’s gifts to His church and ought to always be at the center of Christian worship. We are a congregation that loves to sing God’s praises, recite His Word back to Him, and actively engage in hearing and learning from God’s Word.

We embrace and promote a comprehensive Christian world and life view.

There is no area of life which is not under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It is to God and His law which all people, including governments and civil rulers, will answer. The Word of God embraces and informs the way we view marriage, the family, children, education, politics, worship, law, government, war, the church, missions, evangelism, and worship. In the world today there is a battle of opposing worldviews. There are basically only two positions: God’s Word and man’s ideas. We stand positively for Biblical truth and negatively against man’s ideas which are opposed to Biblical truth.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only hope for mankind.

Because all men fall short of obeying God’s law, all men everywhere are in need of divine grace and salvation from God. This salvation is found only in the Lord Jesus Christ who died for sinners, was buried, rose again, and is alive today seated at God the Father’s right hand.

We Worship God Together as Families.

We offer nursery during morning worship service for newborns and infants but encourage people to keep as many of their children as they can with them for morning worship. The audio of the service is in the nursery via speakers. There is also a crying room with a video screen and audio of the sermon. We offer Sunday school classes for all ages but worship together as families. We do not offer “children’s” church. Children need to be in morning worship as soon as possible so they can learn how to participate as active worshipers of God which includes the singing of His praises and listening actively to sermons.

Scripture Alone: What is Reformed Theology? with R.C. Sproul

Presented by Ligonier Ministries (YouTube)

Description:Christians ought to submit to the authority given them by Christ. But what happens when those in authority teach things contrary to the Word of God? Is there a higher court to which we can appeal? The answer is yes. The appeal was made in the sixteenth century and the motion still carries. Reformers call this Sola Scriptura. That’s the Latin slogan for Scripture alone. Dr. Sproul teaches us about this in the message entitled “Scripture Alone.”

To Glorify Christ Jesus | VCY

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. (John 16:14)

The Holy Ghost Himself cannot better glorify the Lord Jesus than by showing to us Christ’s own things. Jesus is His own best commendation. There is no adorning Him except with his own gold.

The Comforter shows us that which He has received of our Lord Jesus. We never see anything aright till He reveals it. He has a way of opening our minds and of opening the Scriptures, and by this double process He sets forth our Lord to us. There is much art in setting forth a matter, and that art belongs in the highest degree to the Spirit of truth. He shows us the things themselves. This is a great privilege, as those know who have enjoyed the hallowed vision.

Let us seek the illumination of the Spirit; not to gratify our curiosity, nor even to bring us personal comfort, so much as to glorify the Lord Jesus. Oh, to have worthy ideas of Him! Groveling notions dishonor our precious Lord. Oh, to have such vivid impressions of His person, and work, and glory that we may with heart and soul cry out to His praise! Where there is a heart enriched by the Holy Ghost’s teaching there will be a Savior glorified beyond expression. Come, Holy Spirit, heavenly light, and show us Jesus our Lord!

Who Alone is Worthy | Daily Devotionals by Thoughts about God.

Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.

“Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: ‘Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.’ Revelation 4:8

The book of Revelation gives us a myriad of examples of how to worship God and outlines many reasons why He is worthy of our praise. Revelation chapter four portrays living creatures constantly glorifying God with the words, “Holy, holy, holy.” Elders fall prostrate before God and relinquish their glory, power, and wealth to Him.

As the self-existent One, God is worthy of our praise. Before the world began, He was; in this moment, He is; at any and every future time, He will be. He is holy and unique, unlike any other.

God sits enthroned above all heaven and earth. God reigns more powerful than any other ruler, physical or spiritual, seen or unseen. God created all things. By His word and by His will, all creatures exist. His power alone sustains every living thing.

God is worthy. We need no other reason to worship Him.

Holy God, You alone are worthy of my praise. I worship You because You are holy and because You created and sustain all things. Like the elders, I humble myself and acknowledge that any glory, power, or wealth I have comes from You. Amen.

A Heart of Thankfulness | Daily Devotionals by Thoughts about God.

Read: Psalm 107: 1-38

O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1

Soul singer Lionel Ritchie was once deeply impacted by a speech in which his father had honored his mother, on their 37th wedding anniversary. In his speech, Ritchie Senior had lovingly thanked his wife for sticking by him through the ups and downs of life. Said Lionel, “What a great story because I pass through my house every day and I don’t say thank you. I just take for granted that certain things be done”. That speech moved him to compose one of his best loved songs, ‘Three Times a Lady’.

How much we too forget to be thankful to God for the blessings He gives us. We often take them for granted. In Psalm 107, the author earnestly encourages the people to be thankful to God, by repeating the phrase, “Let them thank the Lord for His steadfast love, for His wonderful works to humankind” on four occasions (Psalm 107: 8, 15, 21, and 31).

The Psalmist also describes the many ways in which a loving God has been faithful to His children by reflecting on His deliverance (Psalm 107:6), guidance (Psalm 107:7), provision (Psalm 107:9), protection (Psalm 107:29-30) and blessings (Psalm 107:35-38).

As I was reflecting recently over this psalm, the Lord reminded me of how He had brought deliverance through trials, guidance in difficult situations, provision in unexpected ways, protection from targeted attacks of the enemy and individual blessings to each of our family members. So much to be thankful for!

May we truly learn to be thankful to God every day!

Prayer – Lord, may I never forget all the blessings You have given me. Like the Psalmist, help me to be thankful today through a prayer or a song of praise. Amen.

FEATURED ANALYSIS

Election Laws Under Judicial Assault

Georgia and Texas tried to make elections more secure, but judges struck down some of their attempts.

Nate Jackson

If you believe a recent CNN poll, 70% of Republicans say Joe Biden’s victory in 2020 was illegitimate. Despite the source, that seems about right to us.

As we’ve said before, though, there’s a difference between stolen and rigged. There’s a difference between claiming some conspiracy with voting machine tallies and pointing out that bulk-mail ballots are a huge problem because of the laughable “verification” process, or that the Leftmedia and Big Tech suppressed what likely would have been decisive information about the Biden Crime Family just before the election.

In any case, election integrity is paramount. Authenticating votes is critical if each citizen is not to be disenfranchised by fraud. Cheating should be nigh impossible. Every American wants to trust our elections.

So why is this so hard?

Because Democrats have the easier message, and the mainstream media is a subsidiary of the Democrat National Committee. By the way, Democrats spent years denying election results before suddenly deciding denial was the greatest conceivable crime against democracy. But they control the media, so they’re never held accountable for their hypocrisy.

“Vote early and often” — that’s the old joke about elections, and it rings a little too true.

Despite the warnings of a blue-ribbon election committee led by Jimmy Carter and James Baker in 2005 — warnings about how “absentee ballots remain the largest source of potential voter fraud” — Democrats now want ballots mailed to everyone with no true verification process to speak of, early voting for months before Election Day, and no requirement for ID. They treat essentially any “restriction” on voting within months of an election as the equivalent of police dogs and firehoses.

If we had our druthers, voting would happen on Election Day with a valid photo ID, and mail ballots would be limited to military personnel or others with a short list of good reasons. If you just can’t be bothered to show up in person for the most important civic duty of a citizen, that’s not a good reason.

But as we’ve noted before, such personal responsibility is a hard case to make, especially given that Democrats have won practically every election expansion they fought for. In most cases and places, putting the toothpaste back in the tube just ain’t gonna happen.

“Large majorities of Americans favor three measures meant to make voting easier,” Gallup says. Those include “early voting (78% in favor), automatic voter registration (65%) and sending absentee ballots to all eligible voters (60%).” Meanwhile, voters oppose culling voter lists of “inactive” people (60%) and limiting drop boxes for absentee ballots (59%). Gallup adds, “One restrictive policy that most Americans (79%) are on board with, however, is requiring photo identification to vote.”

So, with all that backdrop, election integrity laws in Georgia and Texas suffered legal blows in recent days.

“U.S. District Judge Xavier Rodriguez struck down a provision of Texas’ law requiring that mail voters provide the same identification number they used when they registered to vote,” reports the Associated Press. “He ruled the requirement violated the U.S. Civil Rights Act because it led to people being unable to cast ballots due to a matter irrelevant to whether they are registered.”

That ruling guts a key measure to authenticate votes. Election workers and volunteers are simply not equipped to match signatures on ballots, if they even try to do so. Verification numbers are an important way to match a ballot to the person it should belong to. Every ballot that is not authenticated could effectively disenfranchise a citizen who took the time to show up at the polls.

Georgia’s law likewise suffered setbacks. Or, as the AP frames it with full Democrat bias, “voting rights advocates got a more mixed set of rulings Friday from U.S. District Judge J.P. Boulee.”

For the record, the real advocates of voting rights are the ones who want elections with integrity. Leftists routinely distort the English language to achieve their political purposes.

Boulee “temporarily prohibited officials from enforcing penalties against people who provide food and water to voters waiting in line as long as they are more than 150 feet from the building where voting is taking place,” the AP says. “He also blocked a part of the law that requires voters to provide their birthdate on absentee ballot envelopes. But Boulee rejected the groups’ claims that certain restrictions imposed by the law deny voters with disabilities meaningful access to absentee voting.”

The food and water thing isn’t some kind of humanitarian cruelty; it’s to deny partisan hacks free electioneering opportunities while voters wait in line. Providing a birthdate is, again, a more reliable way to verify a ballot than signature matching. Yet according to leftists, authenticating mail-in ballots is apparently some kind of violation of civil rights.

The laws in Georgia and Texas were the subject of untold leftist caterwauling, even in the Peach State leading MLB to remove its All-Star Game from Atlanta in 2021. (The Braves responded by winning the World Series, which, even for this Cardinals fan, was glorious.)

The two states were prominent, but hardly alone. FiveThiryEight’s headline reads: “16 States Made It Harder To Vote This Year. But 26 Made It Easier.”

By “harder,” leftists mean the aforementioned cases, but also things like reducing by a couple the number of days available for early voting or tightening the window for accepting properly postmarked absentee ballots.

Conducting elections with integrity is something every advanced nation should be able to do. Yet the U.S. is alone among Western nations with some of the slipshod ways we do things, and the result is that neither party trusts the results when they lose. Is that really the Republic our Founders bequeathed to us?

Maui’s Failed Response

How leftist ideology blinded government officials to the reality.

Thomas Gallatin

When it comes to the nation’s deadliest wildfire in over a century, there appears to be a lot of blame to go around. As we have previously noted, blaming the fire on climate change is merely a disingenuous effort by the Leftmedia to support the campaign against fossil fuels. It also serves to add cover for the Democrat politicians who have long been running states like California and Hawaii.

What led to the Maui wildfire turning into a raging inferno that left at least 114 dead, more than 1,000 missing, and much of the coastal town of Lahaina in ashes has more to do with bad governmental decisions than it does the weather. In one sense, the wildfire can be boiled down to a water fight, land mismanagement, and a push for green energy all combining and leading to devastating consequences. And in all three cases, these problems were years in the making.

First, the water fight. In a recently discovered video clip, M. Kaleo Manuel, the deputy director of Hawaii’s Commission on Water Resource Management, talks about water management and embracing a holistic traditional Hawaiian cultural approach as he calls for “water equity.”

The reason this video suddenly went viral is because news came out that during the Maui wildfire, the West Maui Land Company, which manages several agricultural and residential subdivisions in the area, contacted Manuel seeking permission to divert water from streams in its efforts to fight the wildfire, which at that point had been contained.

In the video, Manuel says: “My motto has always been: let water connect us, not divide us. We can share it, but it requires true conversations about equity.”

Well, it appears that those conversations about water equity may have slowed the decision to approve the request for diverting water until it was too late. According to reports, the water commission’s delay was due to it seeking to clear the decision with local farmers and landowners. Glenn Tremble, an executive with West Maui Land Company, noted that the delay over several crucial hours allowed the wildfire to break out of control. “We followed the process,” Tremble stated. “The process failed us.”

Hawaii Democrat Governor Josh Green attempted to deflect blame from the water commission. “One thing that people need to understand,” he explained, “especially those from far away, is that there’s been a great deal of water conflict on Maui for many years.” If that is indeed the case, then apparently the state’s water commission failed to come up with an effective management system.

However, as noted above, all the blame does not fall on the water commission. There is also the decision by Hawaiian lawmakers to fund the green energy push over infrastructure development.

Back in 2015, the Democrat-dominated state legislature decided to go all in on the green dream, passing a first-in-the-nation law mandating that 100% of Hawaii’s energy be sourced from renewables by 2045. The company tasked with achieving this shortsighted goal was Hawaiian Electric Industries (HEI), the Aloha State’s largest electricity producer, accounting for 95% of the state’s power supply.

In order to meet the law’s ridiculous demand, HEI heavily invested in developing renewable energy sources instead of focusing funding on aging electrical infrastructure. Even still, the state utilities commission recognized that there was a potential for fire danger. Mina Morita, who served as the chairwoman of Hawaii’s utilities commission, admitted, “While there was concern for wildfire risk, politically the focus was on electricity generation.”

Here we have the push for green energy because of the dubious climate change narrative that has vilified fossil fuels, serving to blind the concern of the state’s utility commission to the real and dangerous problems associated with such a massive changeover. Apparently, going green was too important for the “future” to take seriously the concerns of potential wildfires in the present.

When commitment to ideological narratives overrides sober and rational decision-making based upon the reality on the ground, the consequences can be disastrous and deadly. Ironically, as Manuel opined, worldview does matter. The question is, does one’s worldview comport with truth and reality?

Executive News Summary

Biden visiting Maui, Hilary makes landfall, Fidelity allegedly blocking donations to conservatives, and more.

Thomas Gallatin & Jordan Candler

Cross-Examination

  • Biden to visit Maui today: Joe Biden and the first lady will travel to Maui, Hawaii, today to view the aftermath of the nation’s deadliest fire in over a century that left at least 114 people dead with over 1,000 still unaccounted for in the coastal town of Lahaina. He is expected to announce the appointment of FEMA Administrator Bob Fenton as the Chief Federal Response Coordinator to oversee the recovery effort. Biden will arrive under a cloud of bipartisan criticism over his infamous “no comment” response when initially questioned immediately following news of the tragedy. It’s important to note that, while presidential visits at natural disaster sites have become an expected part of the job, such visits can hamper relief efforts to accommodate security for what amounts to a photo op.
  • $700 to Maui households: A popular talking point has emerged against Joe Biden after his insensitive “no comment” remark regarding the Maui wildfire: He cares more about Ukrainians than he does Americans. Adding fuel to this charge is Biden’s announcement that the federal government will be granting Maui victims a “one-time $700 payment per household offering relief during an unimaginably difficult time.” Meanwhile, as the talking point goes, Biden has given some $113 billion in aid to Ukraine. While it is indeed a harsh contrast, it’s assumption of a one-to-one binary comparison is disingenuous. Congress has the power of the purse and allocates where money goes, and the Department of Defense has a budget that is separate from FEMA. Neither is $700 likely to be the end of the aid given Hawaiians.
  • Tropical Storm Hilary: After being downgraded to a tropical storm, Hilary made landfall Sunday evening, hitting Mexico’s Baja California. As the storm moved up the coast into Southern California, the area was hit by a 5.1 magnitude earthquake. The regionally rare storm has brought coastal storm surge as well as heavy rains and flash flooding. Hilary is the first tropical storm to hit Southern California in 84 years, with officials evacuating several coastal islands and the state activating some 7,500 emergency personnel. Several professional sports teams in the region canceled their games. Los Angeles rushed to get homeless into shelters, and all beaches in San Diego and Orange Counties were closed. One of the biggest concerns is over the likelihood of mudslides.
  • The kids are not alright: Emergency rooms across the country are becoming overwhelmed with a surging number of children suffering from mental health episodes. The emergencies are mostly associated with anxiety, depression, or suicidal thoughts or actions. According to Dr. Mohsen Saidinejad, director of pediatric emergency medicine at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, “The ER has become a de facto referral center for all of these problems, and there’s too many of them for the emergency department to manage.” The trouble is, as Saidinejad points out: “We are ER physicians. We are not mental health professionals. We cannot provide definitive care.” A recent study found that roughly half a million children come to the ER each year suffering from a mental problem, and that number has been increasing significantly since the pandemic. Furthermore, a mental health emergency is more taxing on an ER, as a mental health-related patient’s stay is an average of 17 hours compared to five hours for all other health-related emergencies.
  • Is Fidelity blocking donations to conservative causes? A recent complaint has been raised against Fidelity Charitable (FC) alleging that the donor-advised fund has been blocking account holders from sending donations to conservative nonprofits. According to Jeremy Tedesco, senior vice president of corporate engagement for the Alliance Defending Freedom, the problem is widespread, as 15 different donors in 13 states have reported similar experiences. FC apparently uses the leftist Southern Poverty Law Center’s dubious “hate groups” designation for justifying restricting the donation of funds to conservative groups. Of course, the SPLC’s track record on assigning its “hate group” designation has been repeatedly exposed for being based upon a hard-leftist political bias rather than on genuine objective standards. It would appear that FC is using the SPLC as a shield for its effort to prevent donations from being directed to such groups as the ADF, Family Research Council, and Center for Security Policy.

Biden’s Border Wall Fire Sale

Rather than respecting the terms of a bipartisan border security bill, Joe Biden would rather give the unused border barrier materials away.

Douglas Andrews

Joe Biden used to be fond of saying: “Don’t tell me what you value. Show me your budget, and I will tell you what you value.”

Of course, that was before he and his party stopped taking budgets seriously.

The general message, though, is a good one for assessing the values of politicians from across the political spectrum: Don’t pay attention to what they say; pay attention to what they do.

As for Biden’s priorities, border security certainly isn’t one of them. Not that this was ever open to serious debate. But if it were, his decision to hold a fire sale for unused sections of Donald Trump’s border wall would put the matter to rest. As the New York Post reports, “The Biden administration is quietly auctioning off millions of dollars’ worth of unused parts from former President Trump’s border wall for peanuts — in an apparent end-run around pending legislation in Congress.”

That pending legislation? A rare Republican-sponsored bill, the Finish It Act, that was taken up and passed by the Democrat-controlled Senate last month as part of the annual defense appropriations package. The GOP bill would force the federal government to use some $300 million of unused border materials on new wall construction or turn them over to someone who will — someone like Texas Governor Greg Abbott, for example, who has shown a willingness to pursue his own border enforcement projects rather than concede to the Biden administration’s willful neglect.

The Post continues: “Since April, GovPlanet, an online auction house specializing in military surplus, has sold 81 lots of steel ‘square structural tubes’ — intended for use as vertical bollards in the border barrier’s 30-foot-tall panels — hauling in about $2 million. On Tuesday, GovPlanet netted $154,200 for 729 of the 28-foot-tall hollow beams, sold in five separate lots for an average $212 apiece.”

It’s an act of equal parts insult and pettiness: insult because the American people have expressed unmistakable support for border security, and pettiness because Biden’s opposition to border security seems reflexively aimed at Trump’s support for it.

Perhaps Joe Biden could solicit the counsel of Barack Obama, who has a big wall around his DC mansion. Why have a wall if walls don’t work?

“This sale,” says Mississippi Republican Senator Roger Wicker, “is a wasteful and ludicrous decision by the Biden administration that only serves as further proof they have no shame.”

Said Oklahoma Republican James Lankford: “The pennies made from selling the border wall will not be enough to pay the families who suffer from a criminal act committed by someone who crossed our open borders during the Biden administration.”

To Senator Lankford’s point, we’re still waiting on a federal government database that accurately captures the crime being perpetrated across the 50 states by illegal aliens. (We’d ask why such an accounting doesn’t already exist, but the answer is obvious: Democrats and Chamber of Commerce Republicans don’t want to know.)

One lawmaker with a ground-zero view of all this is Arizona Republican Congressman Juan Ciscomani, whose district is the staging area for all these unused border wall parts. “The federal government needs to be utilizing every tool in the toolbox to secure our border,” says Ciscomani. “Instead of putting these materials to their intended use, they have been squandered, first collecting dust in the desert and now being auctioned off.”

These are your tax dollars at “work.”

‘The Squad’s’ Motives for Pushing Student Debt Forgiveness

Like most things that motivate the radical progressives, it all stems from self-interest.

Emmy Griffin

When one is elected a representative of the people, the expectation is that you are going to fight for the people who voted you there in the first place. But our swamp system in Washington, DC, is far from this ideal of American representative democracy.

When it comes to the House members commonly referred to as “The Squad” (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Cori Bush, and Jamaal Bowman), this lack of regard for the American public they actually represent comes in many forms.

Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Tlaib (D-MI) in particular have been the loudest voices behind President Joe Biden’s illegal and various attempts to cancel student loan debt. Like King John in the Robin Hood story, these ladies are totally okay with robbing from the common man to pay for student loans, particularly since they would benefit from such a seizure of funds.

Ocasio-Cortez herself owes between $15,000 and $50,000 in student loan debt, according to her House financial disclosure report. As for Tlaib, her law degree has accrued her over $100,000 in debt.

Both congresswomen have made comments championing their selfish student debt cancellation agenda to President Biden.

Ocasio-Cortez perfectly illustrated this in a comment on Instagram. She addresses her loyal followers, “It was YOUR pushing, YOUR pressure, YOUR organizing that got them to this point.”

Tlaib, who has more to pay off, kept calling for Biden to up the debt forgiveness to $50,000, writing: “I will continue to push for education debt cancellation of $50K or more, and I know many people out on the streets will do the same. This is not the end, this is just the beginning when it comes to bringing opportunity and equity to all.” Translation: $50K less debt would be nice for me, a House member who makes over $174,000 annually and has a net worth of over a million dollars.

Tlaib has a knack for accruing money, sometimes unethically, and has the finances to pay off her own debt. She does not shy away from taking money from her constituents. Why shouldn’t demanding they pay for her law degree also apply?

Maybe AOC should sell her “tax the rich” dress. That tacky number would probably cover a bunch of her debt.

The Supreme Court has struck down the first unconstitutional attempt by the president to cancel student loans. But plans are already underway to try again, probably spurred on by The Squad’s enthusiastic support.

Under the guise of altruism and “championing the working class,” Ocasio-Cortez and Tlaib would tax the working class to pay for the privileged college kids. It’s all a big con.

Why the Primary Process Matters

Donald Trump understandably wants everyone else to drop out, but it’s too soon for that.

Nate Jackson

The whole reason we have presidential primaries is so that voters can get to know the candidates on a wide spectrum before casting their ballots. Debates and media interviews show how they stand up to criticism and scrutiny, while state fairs and small gatherings give a sense of personality. Recruiting donors and marketing the candidate all inform voters regarding the coalition a contender can assemble.

Let the process play out.

Donald Trump doesn’t want that. The 78-year-old former president thinks he’s already won the nomination, in part because he’s already done all that.

“Great polls just out,” Trump said in a video the other day. “Leading by 40, 50, and even 60 points. Who expected that? I did.” He claimed he’s also “leading Biden very big.” As for the other GOP candidates, he said: “DeSanctimonious is crashing. Perhaps the party should come together. People should drop out of the race. We unify, and we beat Biden and the Democrats. They should be easy to beat because our country has never been in worse condition than it is right now.”

No argument with that last part. It is true that before long, many candidates are going to need to take an honest look in the mirror and assess whether they still belong in the race. If you’re not even meeting the low bar to qualify for the debate stage, go home. Even for the strongest other candidate, Ron DeSantis, there are, as our Douglas Andrews aptly outlined, some serious headwinds.

Then again, running for president requires a certain hubris that makes such self-reflection rather difficult.

And unifying Republicans? Well, good luck herding those cats.

Trump does indeed have what historically seems like an insurmountable lead in the polls, and it’s hard to imagine him coughing it up. That’s why he announced over the weekend his decision to skip the GOP debate Wednesday. Instead of debating on Fox News, he’ll sit for an online interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. No bad blood there.

Maybe he’ll also drop by for his smiling Georgia mugshot just before Wednesday’s debate. GOP voters will love it.

Speaking of that, every (bogus) indictment appears to make Trump stronger, and those probably aren’t done coming yet. He already did show up at debates, state fairs, and stadium-sized rallies. Voters know exactly who he is and what they’re getting. He is the former president, after all, running for the third time and on a pretty incredible first-term record.

And he has arguably the most devoted fanbase ever. A sizable contingent of voters won’t even give a sidelong glance to another candidate. They LOVE their man Trump, and they want nothing besides sending him back to the White House for retribution.

To wit, his surrogate, Kari Lake, also made the same argument. “This primary is over,” she said last week. “It’s time for the Republican Party to unite around [Trump].”

We can’t help being amused watching two candidates who’ve spent the last two years claiming actual votes and elections were stolen from them now essentially call for denying GOP voters the chance to even cast a ballot in the primary. This isn’t a coronation. How about we count the votes and not the polls?

But since they’re both talking polls, let’s look at polls, though with the caveats we always issue — Leftmedia polls are used as pollaganda, and the only poll that matters is the one on Election Day.

Trump is correct that the RealClearPolitics polling average has him ahead of DeSantis by 40 points. His lead over most other candidates is 50 points or more. But his polling average is just under 55%, and no poll in the average has him higher than 58%, which makes a 60-point lead, well, not possible. In any case, unless something major changes, he’s going to sail to the nomination.

What about the general election? After all, the objective of a primary should be to find the candidate who can win the general election.

Trump’s supporters sure love him, but they’re far from a majority. One Associated Press poll reflects what other polls generally measure, and that’s intense apathy toward Trump. His approval/disapproval is a dismal 35/62, and 64% say they definitely or probably won’t vote for him in 2024. That’s the same number who collectively say he did something illegal (51%) or at least unethical (13%) in Georgia after the 2020 election. Majorities approve of both federal indictments as well.

It doesn’t matter that those are in fact grossly political witch hunts if only 15% of Americans think Trump “did nothing wrong.” It also speaks volumes that just 17% of Americans trust Biden’s Justice Department yet still are inclined against Trump.

The trouble is that January 6 happened, and the vast majority of Americans were so appalled by that fiasco that even the Democrats’ utterly preposterous “insurrection” rhetoric and impeachment efforts didn’t sway them into the “Trump is the real victim” camp. His job is to persuade them to overlook all that and remember how good things were from 2017 to early 2020 — and things were good.

Again, though, polling caveats heavily apply.

For one thing, the election is going to be between two people, and most Americans will pull the lever for one or the other — one of whom might be a convicted felon.

The Democrat nominee is not going to be cognitively disabled Joe Biden, but let’s measure that contest just for kicks. The current head-to-head matchup between Trump and Biden has Biden ahead 44.4% to 44.0%, though that’s a statistical dead heat. Biden leads DeSantis by 2.4 percentage points, and every other Republican by even more.

As Trump could tell you from experience, however, presidential elections are won in the Electoral College, not a national popular vote. So a statistical dead heat is great news, right?

Not so fast.

State-level general election polling is a lot harder to come by this early, so instead we’ll pose a dilemma and ask a question. In 2016, Trump won Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, swinging the latter three from blue to red. In 2020, all those states went the other direction — Georgia for the first time since 1992.

And that was before January 6 and the rest that now have Trump facing (bogus) indictments.

Yes, Trump’s supporters and any other rational observer would conclude that those indictments are banana republic stuff. But when Trump wins the GOP nomination and Democrats nominate someone younger and fresher, all bets are off. Will Trump be able to convince, for example, Georgia voters to swing back to him when he’s on trial for trying to “steal” the Peach State?

This writer generally rolls his eyes at the “most important election in history” rhetoric that gets thrown around every single election. This election is, however, shaping up to be the nastiest. Both sides of the spectrum are incredibly angry, and if the election is close, it seems almost guaranteed that one side or the other is going to claim it was stolen. If a 78-year-old convict who can only serve one term somehow wins, the 2020 summer of rage may look mild by comparison.

Fasten your seatbelts. We live in volatile times.

But Joe Biden can’t be bothered to interrupt his beach vacation to so much as say a word of consolation to the people of Maui, and that’s perfectly fine. How Convenient: Biden Regime Begins Procuring COVID-19 Equipment and Hiring Safety Advisors, Government Spending Data Reveals | The Gateway Pundit

Source: Illustration/The Gateway Pundit

The Biden regime has begun procuring COVID-19 equipment and hiring advisors on safety protocols, according to an exclusive report from War Room.

This comes amidst increasing speculation that the White House might be preparing to reinstate pandemic-era lockdowns and mandates.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that the Biden regime is preparing to reinstate full COVID-19 lockdowns, beginning with masking mandates for TSA and airport employees reportedly as early as mid-September, Infowars first to report.

A high-level TSA official reached out to Infowars, detailing a Tuesday meeting where TSA managers were informed of new memorandums and policies that would reimplement mask-wearing.

These policies will reinstate the mask mandate for TSA and airport employees starting in mid-September.

According to the TSA official, further details on how the policy will escalate will be provided next week.

The official added that by mid-October, mask-wearing will be mandated for pilots, flight staff, passengers, and all airport patrons.

Following this disclosure from the TSA official, Infowars reached out to a trusted Border Patrol source, also in a managerial position.

This source corroborated the directives, confirming that similar measures were being planned for Border Patrol personnel.

“They were told it was not a matter of “if” but “when” official Covid numbers will go back up and they expect by mid-October a return to forced-masking policies that the Biden administration previously only reluctantly ended after massive pressure,” Infowars reported.

The news outlet added, “Both whistleblowers were told this rollout will be in tandem with the new Covid “variant” hysteria that the MSM has been reporting on this week.

On Monday, Co-Host & Executive Editor of Steve Bannon’s War Room, Natalie Winters, reported that the “federal government has already begun buying COVID-19 equipment and hiring consultants to enforce pandemic-era “safety protocols.””

The government contracts, including those from significant entities such as the Department of Defense (DOD), show a considerable expenditure of taxpayer funds towards the procurement of COVID-19 related items like test kits.

Some of these contracts are even scheduled to begin next month, including September and October, hinting at a long-term strategy.

For instance, the DOD has awarded Hologic Sales and Service LLC a significant $1.5 million contract scheduled to begin on October 1st and with a potential end date in May 2024.

According to the federal spending database, these funds are explicitly designated for “Hologic COVID testing services in support of the Department of Pathology at Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, WA 98431. (New Delivery Order).”

Moreover, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is not far behind in its efforts to prepare for the ongoing battle with COVID-19.

The VA inked a $2 million contract with Abbott Molecular Inc. that is set to commence on September 22nd and conclude in September 2024.

This contract will provide essential testing services for viruses, including COVID-19.

In addition, the VA started a $1.3 million contract with Biofire Diagnostics LLC on August 18th for “COVID-19 testing reagents and equipment,” a contract slated to expire in August of the following year.

Photo by Natalie Winters (Source: USASPENDING.gov)

The contracts do not stop at equipment procurement alone. On August 14th, the VA began a $3.3 million contract with Oddball Inc for advice on “adequate COVID-19 safety protocols.”

The task order, referred to as “EO14042,” includes a “modification to add FAR 52.223-99 ensuring adequate COVID-19 safety protocols for federal contractors (OCT 2021) (DEVIATION).”

This contract is set to expire in August of next year as well.

The timing and nature of these contracts raise questions about the Biden administration’s future plans regarding the pandemic.

The media is now pushing for another lockdown. Another fear porn from the so-called health experts and media just in time for the next election. The same old playbook.

EXCLUSIVE: FBI Is Preventing the Release of FOIA Requests Related to Seth Rich – Again! | The Gateway Pundit

This article originally appeared on JoeHoft.com and was republished with permission.

The FBI is again preventing the release of information related to the death of Seth Rich.

Another FOIA request and another cover-up from today’s FBI.

The number of lies the FBI has made about Seth Rich continues to add up.

The latest lie before today was that the Mueller gang said Seth Rich had nothing to do with the transfer of DNC-related emails to WikiLeaks, and yet they never even looked at his laptop which was in their possession.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/01/breaking-exclusive-bombshell-late-friday-fbi-data-dump-mueller-claimed-seth-rich-not-involved-russia-collusion-email-scandal-without-ever-examining-richs-work-laptop/embed/#?secret=w6QNocHpmV#?secret=mP8nZhOv6N

There were many stories on Rich that I reported at The Gateway Pundit.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/12/fbi-refuses-share-whole-truth-seth-richs-murder-experts-wonder-deep-state-trying-protect-use-domestic-spying-database/embed/#?secret=8xF3TRd9MJ#?secret=9XN8IaLvis

One report even suggested that there were discussions of assassinations in the documents released by the FBI.

No wonder the FBI is doing all it can to hide information related to Seth Rich’s murder.

This week the FBI did it again.

The FBI is hiding entire records systems from FOIA requestors and using links to systems that don’t work.

Here is the filing stating the FBI is at it again.

AOC and Her Anti-Cop Pals in Congress Have Spent Whopping Amount of Campaign Cash on Private Security | The Western Journal.

I have a personal theory as to why members of the so-called squad of progressive House Democrats want to defund police: They need the money to protect themselves, apparently.

According to a Saturday report in the New York Post, Federal Election Commission data show the eight members of the unofficial group of hard-left legislatures have spent more than $1.2 million on private security since they came into office.

To be fair, over half of this total belongs to just one member of the group: Missouri Rep. Cori Bush, who has shelled out over $730,000 on private security, according to the report.

Bush was one of the most adamant Democrats when it came to sticking by explicitly using the slogan “defund the police” even after it became unpopular among voters, according to Axios:

“I always tell [fellow Democrats], ‘If you all had fixed this before I got here, I wouldn’t have to say these things,’” she said in February 2022.

“‘Defund the police’ is not the problem,” Bush added. “We dangled the carrot in front of people’s faces and said we can get it done and that Democrats deliver, when we haven’t totally delivered.”

However, the congresswoman definitely hasn’t delivered personally, and her spending has raised some eyebrows — as well as an ethics complaint.

According to the FEC data, $75,000 of her private security budget was directed to her now-husband, despite the fact he lacked the appropriate license to provide security for her.

And there were other fun hypocrisies in Bush’s private-security spending, as well, according to the Post.

“Among the benefactors of her donor’s largesse was St. Louis-based Peace Security, a pro-gun, right-wing private security firm that racked up $380,947 despite reportedly promoting the Second Amendment — in sharp contrast to Democratic socialist Bush’s anti-gun campaign messaging,” the report said.

Bush defended her profligate personal-security spending in a 2021 interview with CBS News, claiming her life was in danger without it.

“They would rather I die? You would rather me die? Is that what you want to see? You want to see me die?” she said.

“I have private security because my body is worth being on this planet right now,” the Democrat said. “I have private security because they, the white supremacist racist narrative that they drive into this country. The fact that they don’t care that this black woman that has put her life on the line …

“I’m going to make sure I have security because I know I have had attempts on my life and I have too much work to do. There are too many people that need help right now for me to allow that.”

As for those “people that need help right now,” they can deal with whatever desiccated law-enforcement apparatus gets left behind after Bush and her ilk are finished defunding it. You’re welcome, America!

Next up in the “squad” personal security spending sweepstakes? Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, who spent more than $272,000 in campaign funds for personal security, including upgrades to her district offices, according to the Post.

“Her expenses include nearly $2,000 for security system installations at her Queens and Bronx district offices, more than $20,000 on ‘internet’ or ‘digital’ security, $4,263 for office security equipment and $521 for what she noted in FEC records as ‘security barriers,’” the report said.

This also isn’t a surprise when you consider AOC is another one who makes dubious claims that her life has been in imminent danger — particularly during the events of Jan. 6, 2021, when she claimed she “had a very close encounter where I thought I was going to die.”

Do you think AOC is a hypocrite?YesNo

That “encounter” involved a Capitol Police officer coming into her office — which was in an entirely different building from where the Capitol incursion was taking place, it’s worth noting — to make sure she was safe, but never mind.

She’s gotten plenty of mileage out of this story and the nonexistent dangers she faced during the incursion in general, including telling Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz that he “almost had me murdered.”

Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota took the bronze medal in the “defund for thee, not for me” personal security Olympics, reportedly spending a total of $125,683.75 on security services since her 2019 swearing-in.

“Rounding out the rest of the squad: Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) spent $64,763; Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) $20,480; Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) $7,872; and Greg Casar (D-Texas) $1,570; while Summer Lee (D-Pa.) has yet to document security spending. Both Lee and Casar are freshman members who joined Congress in January,” the Post reported.

Heritage Foundation legal fellow Zach Smith told the Post that those numbers were “incredibly hypocritical” when you consider these lawmakers “have been at the forefront of the defund the police movement.”

“Cori Bush, AOC, all the members of the ‘squad’ — they and their families deserve to be safe and secure in their homes and communities — but so does everyone else,” Smith said.

“Unfortunately while they get their own taxpayer-funded security detail … on top of what they’re paying for out of pocket” with campaign funds, “their constituents do not and must rely on police or their Second Amendment rights … that the ‘squad’ also opposes,” he said.

Perhaps most notably, of the $1.23 million in personal security outlays for the soi-disant “squad,” the vast majority of it — $1.15 million — was spent after the “defund the police” movement kicked into high gear following the May 2020 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody.

Crime soared. Police were overwhelmed. Cities burned. Murders spiked, lawlessness reigned, urban areas became no-go zones — and the good progressives who backed “defund the police” and other “squad”-friendly criminal justice policies quickly tucked tail and ran off to someplace where they didn’t have to worry about getting mugged by a fentanyl-sotten “unhoused” individual living in a tent city right outside their apartment building.

But at least the “squad” members were safe and sound — and their personal police were hardly defunded. Quite the opposite, actually.

Thank heavens for small mercies.

‘Quid-Pro F-You Dad’: Hunter’s Lawyers Threatened To Force Joe To Testify Unless Plea Deal Reached | ZeroHedge News

Hunter Biden’s lawyers played heavy with the Department of Justice, effectively threatening to force President Joe Biden to testify in any criminal trial against the First Son if a plea agreement wasn’t reached over his multiple alleged crimes.

President Biden now unquestionably would be a fact witness for the defense in any criminal trial,” wrote Hunter Biden attorney Chris Clark in a 32-page letter last fall, Politico reports, calling the news that there was enough evidence to charge Hunter an “illegal” leak.

That letter, along with more than 300 pages of previously unreported emails and documents exchanged between Hunter Biden’s legal team and prosecutors, sheds new light on the fraught negotiations that nearly produced a broad plea deal. That deal would have resolved Biden’s most pressing legal issues — the gun purchase and his failure to pay taxes for several years — and it also could have helped insulate Biden from future prosecution by a Republican-led Justice Department.

The documents show how the deal collapsed — a sudden turnabout that occurred after Republicans bashed it and a judge raised questions about it. The collapse renewed the prospect that Biden will head to trial as his father ramps up his 2024 reelection bid. -Politico

According to Clark, putting Joe Biden on the stand would create political and constitutional chaos by pitting Joe Biden against his own DOJ.

“This of all cases justifies neither the spectacle of a sitting President testifying at a criminal trial nor the potential for a resulting Constitutional crisis,” reads the letter, which was shared with Politico along with several other documents.

Backstory

In the spring of 2022, Hunter Biden’s legal team was on the war path – using a PowerPoint presentation that invoked the looming ghost of Trump right from their opening slide. Their point was clear: Trump’s ceaseless haranguing of Hunter makes any charges against the younger Biden appear as yielding to political pressure, thus damaging the integrity of the Justice Department.

Of course, Hunter put himself in the spotlight by taking tens of millions of dollars from Ukraine, China and Russia in exchange for zero identifiable benefit aside from access to his father.

While initial concerns surrounded possible charges of influence peddling or money laundering, the actual case circled around late tax payments from 2014 to 2019. Biden’s lawyers argued that charging Hunter with tax crimes would make the DOJ look like they had capitulated to Trump’s call for an investigation.

Fast-forward to later in 2022, and we discover that Hunter could also face federal gun charges, traced back to 2018 when he was deeply hooked on crack cocaine. As things escalated, Hunter’s attorneys sought meetings with the highest echelons of the DOJ. These were not mere fishing expeditions but highly strategic maneuvers designed to corner the department into a position where it had to make a call: either it would take a reputation hit for being “politically influenced” or face accusations of providing “preferential treatment” to the President’s son.

By spring 2023, it seems the DOJ was looking for an exit strategy, and were open to cutting a deal that would save face for everyone involved – especially the department itself. The proposed agreement doesn’t require a guilty plea from Hunter but has its own laundry list of requirements.

From the fall of 2022 through the spring of 2023, Clark sought meetings with people at the highest levels of the Justice Department — almost entirely without success. In multiple emails, he asked to meet with the head of the Criminal Division, the head of the Tax Division, the Office of Legal Counsel, the Office of the Solicitor General, Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco and the attorney general himself. On Feb. 21, 2023, Clark’s team reached out to multiple officials at Main Justice, who passed his request from one person to the next.

The search ended when Clark sent Associate Deputy Attorney General Bradley Weinsheimer an exasperated email, saying he had asked the government over and over to tell him who at headquarters they could appeal to if Weiss decided to charge their client. -Politico

“Please advise whether you would be the appropriate person to hear our client’s appeal, in the event that the U.S. Attorney’s Office decides to charge Mr. Biden,” wrote Clark.

Weinsheimer caved, meeting with Clark and Weiss on April 26. While it’s not clear what happened during the meeting, the Wall Street Journal reported that an IRS supervisor was prepared to testify that there was internal political pressure to slow walk and stonewall the investigation. Unlike Biden’s lawyers who argued that their client was being treated too harshly because of politics, the IRS supervisor was set to testify that Hunter was receiving “preferential treatment.”

After that, a deal emerged in May which would see Hunter admit to filing taxes late in 2017 and 2018, that he owned a gun while using drugs, and that he would both pay back-taxes and never own a gun again. If Hunter could stick to these basic agreements until January 2025, the DOJ would promise not to prosecute him for anything they’d investigated thus far.

“The Department of Justice agrees not to criminally prosecute Robert Hunter Biden and the affiliated businesses (namely: Owasco P.C.; Owasco LLC; and Skaneateles LLC): (a) for any federal crimes arising from the conduct generally described in the attached Statement of Facts (Attachment A); or (b) for any other federal crimes relating to matters investigated by the United States,” reads the now-dead plea deal.

Then, IRS investigator Gary Shapley testified that the DOJ had “slow-walked” the investigation.

Within days of the interview airing, Justice Department prosecutors made clear to Biden’s lawyers that the deal would have to change and that Biden would need to plead guilty to tax charges, according to two people familiar with the talks who were granted anonymity to share sensitive details.

Biden’s team acceded to the new demand, agreeing he would plead guilty to two misdemeanor counts of willfully failing to pay his taxes. But he wouldn’t plead guilty to the gun charge; instead, that issue would be resolved through a pretrial diversion agreement that could result in withdrawal of charges after a few years. -Politico

Then, on the evening of June 2, Clark emailed Wolf to say that immunity from prosecution was vital to the deal – sending language to include saying that the US would not prosecute Hunter Biden for “any federal crimes arising from the conduct generally described” in the two documents that would be included in the final deal.

“This language or its functional equivalent is very critical to us,” Clark added.

Reading between the lines – the deal would protect Hunter from a potential Trump administration, or that of another Republican who might win the 2024 election. The language Clark insisted on would have immense consequences:

“The United States agrees not to criminally prosecute Biden, outside of the terms of this Agreement, for any federal crimes encompassed by the attached Statement of Facts (Attachment A) and the Statement of Facts attached as Exhibit 1 to the Memorandum of Plea Agreement filed this same day. This Agreement does not provide any protection against prosecution for any future conduct by Biden or by any of his affiliated businesses.”

Then, after a judge asked several questions about the deal at a hearing last month, the deal completely unraveled – and the prosecutor overseeing the probe has been made a special counsel, who says that the case is heading to trial.

On Thursday, the judge greenlighted a motion by prosecutors to withdraw the tax charges so they can be filed elsewhere. She also approved Clark’s request to leave Biden’s legal team because he may be called as a witness at a potential trial.

Whether Joe Biden could become a witness is now the big question.

“Incredible Destruction”: Ukraine Loses 31 Vehicles and 7000 Men Liberating Two Villages | The Gateway Pundit

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine lost 31 vehicles in the battle for the village of Staromayorsk alone, including 23 mine-protected armored vehicles, given to them by NATO countries,” reports Julian Röpke of pro-war German newspaper Bild.

On Bild TV, Röpke showed Russian images of the destroyed armor, saying that Bild had been able to verify the veracity of the images. The destruction caused to Ukrainian forces in the course of liberating just one of six villages they had taken in the direction of Mariupol in South Ukraine was “incredible”, Röpcke said. The destroyed vehicles were “mainly western-supplied vehicles”, Röpcke noted.

Ukraine has lost 9 out of 18 German-supplied Leopard 2A6 tanks, according to Bild. While some tanks may possibly be repaired, maintenance facilities are 1000 miles to the west and some tanks are still trapped under enemy fire.

“This does raise the question of how long Ukraine can keep this up,” Röpcke said, who has been one of the main saber-rattlers for the NATO-Russia war in Europe. “We know that way more than 30 vehicles were destroyed seizing the village of Robotyne (Robotina), which still hasn’t been completely liberated.”

“If Ukraine is losing 20 to 30 vehicles per village, and has a total of about 500 western-supplied tanks and APCs, you can do the math and figure out Ukraine will not be liberating southern Ukraine at that pace.”

“Despite the pledge of over 100 Leopard, Challenger and Abrams main battle tanks in January 2023, neither Germany, Great Britain, nor the USA have followed up on their tank deliveries.”  In contrast, the Russian army brings between 20 and 50 new or upgraded main battle tanks a month, Bild reports.

Springer Publishing’s Bild tabloid, the largest newspaper in Germany, has been one of the leading cheerleaders for endless war in Ukraine since Day 1 of the Russian invasion. Springer is majority-owned by New York-based KKR & Co. (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts). Gen. David Petraeus is chairman of KKR Global Institute. Springer CEO Mathias Döpfner served as board member of NATO think tanks Institute for Strategic Dialogue and Aspen Institute, the Steering Committee of the Bilderberg Group and the World Economic Forum.

Russian sources estimate Ukraine lost 7,000 men taking the villages of Staromayosk and Urozhaynoye. According to the Russian Ministry of Defence figures, Ukraine has lost approx. 54,000 men since the start of the “counter-offensive” June 4, with 1400 casualties last weekend alone.

As more and more Ukrainians seek to escape the “Meat Grinder” by bribing draft board officials, President Volodymir Zelenski fired the heads of all the military recruitment centers and replaced them with wounded combat veterans, RFE/RL reports.

“Amid a war that has killed tens of thousands of soldiers and civilians, a report that a $4.35-million seaside villa in Marbella had been purchased by Yevhen Borysov, the head of the Odesa regional military enlistment office — along with an office in the Spanish resort city and a luxury car — pushed public anger to a point where the government apparently decided it had to act”, US government-controlled RFE/RL reports.

According to Valeriy Bolhan of USAID-tied Center for Public Investigations, as many as 50,000 people had paid off military recruiters in Odessa with $5,000 to avoid conscription or go abroad.

US officials are “increasingly critical of Ukraine’s counteroffensive strategy and gloomy about its prospect of success,” the Financial Times reports, “deepening tensions between Kyiv and Washington at the most critical point in the war since Russia’s full-scale invasion.”

“I don’t think that you’ll hear an argument from anyone that this is going well right now or that this is heading to a place that people would view as good, but there is not much by way of plan B,” said Samuel Charap, a senior political scientist at the Rand Corporation.

“It’s been about 10 km of advance at most no matter where you look in this offensive,” Michael Kofman, a senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace told FT.

Even in the face of massive casualties, Biden Regime operatives “encouraged Ukraine to be less risk-averse and fully commit its forces to the main axis of the counteroffensive in the south so it would have a chance of breaking through Russian lines to reach the Sea of Azov, effectively cutting Russia’s land bridge in southern Ukraine to Crimea”, FT writes.

Even if Congress authorizes the latest package of Ukraine funding requested by the White House, “some US officials and analysts say it is unlikely that Washington will be able to offer the same level of lethal assistance to Ukraine next year, given the looming presidential election and munitions manufacturers’ longer-term schedule to increase production,” FT writes.

Republican congressman Andy Harris told a town-hall meeting in Maryland the counteroffensive had “failed”, FT reported. “Is this more [of] a stalemate? Should we be realistic about it? I think we probably should,” Harris told constituents in Abingdon, Maryland, 25 miles north-east of Baltimore. “I’ll be blunt, it’s failed.” He was also pessimistic about the course of the war, saying, “I’m not sure it’s winnable anymore.”

The Global Uprising Against CBDCs Has Begun!

Article Image
 • https://www.corbettreport.com, Corbett

OK, maybe that take is not so hot. After all, I don’t even need to spell out “Central Bank Digital Currencies” for my well-informed, switched-on readers to know what I’m talking about when I refer to CBDCs. And the idea that a digital form of programmable money with a central banker’s on/off switch is a bad thing? Come on! Even the normiest of the normies can sense that.

But here’s the hot part of my hot take: CBDCs are deeply unpopular with the general public and we have a chance of stopping them in their tracks.

At first glance, you might not think this is such a controversial statement, but really think about it for a minute.

If you listen to the stenographers and presstitutes of the establishment dinosaur media, you’ll believe that CBDCs not only represent an exciting opportunity to bring our outdated paper money system into the digital age, but that they’ll be bestowed on us by the benevolent central banker technocrats in the next year or two (if we’re lucky!).

If you listen to the pundits in the alternative media, however, you’ll believe that CBDCs not only represent the greatest threat to human freedom in our lifetime, but that they’ll be forced upon us by the evil central bankster overlords in the next year or two (no matter what we do to fend them off).

PROXY WAR: RFK Jr. says the West provoked Putin to invade Ukraine

“There’s a bad guy who’s like, you know, unspeakably evil, who’s planning world conquest or a terrorist attack on America, and we have to be the good guys and go in and stop it,” he said during an explosive interview with Tucker Carlson on Monday, Aug. 14.

The West promised Russia to not move the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) “one inch” to the east in 1992, but it was broken just five years later.

“The alliance went on to move not one inch but 1,000 miles, [adding] 14 countries,” RFK Jr. said. “This included putting nuclear-ready missile launchers … [that] can take Tomahawk missiles into Poland and Romania. From this proximity, we could in 12 minutes decapitate the entire leadership of Russia.”

The move to bring Ukraine to NATO proved to be the last straw that forced Russia into action. He said bringing Ukraine to NATO was a clear “red line” for Russia, which repeatedly warned it would go to war to prevent all of this.

“The Russians were invaded three times through Ukraine. The last time they were invaded, Hitler killed between 20 and 40 million Russians. Hitler killed one out of every seven Russians,” RFK Jr. explained. (Related: Hungarian official: Pro-war EU wants Ukraine conflict to continue.)
