Did you ever wonder why God created you? You know He didn’t have to nor did He need to. In fact, God was totally content to exist in the perfect fellowship that He enjoyed in the Trinity. I believe that the main reason God created mankind was to lavish His amazing love on His very special creation – YOU!
And just how special and valuable are you to God? I think Pastor Rick Warren said it best: “Let me tell you how worthwhile you are. You are infinitely valuable to God. First, God created you. Second, Jesus died for you. Third, he puts his Spirit within you. Fourth, he wants you to be with him forever in eternity. That’s how valuable you are to God. You are infinitely valuable to God.”1 And Charles Spurgeon adds the following amazing insight concerning the love of God: “Let me revel in this one thought: before God made the heavens and the earth, He set His love upon me.”2
My friends God created us to have a unique and special relationship with us. And just as God showers us with His love and constant attention, the best way for us to reciprocate and delight God is through our worship – which He alone deserves. And not only were we created to worship God but I believe that delighting in worship is a special two-way street. First it allows God to receive all the praise and thanksgiving that is due Him, and second true worship allows us to experience intimacy with God, amazing joy, and indescribable pleasures.
So often Christians look at worship as a required duty instead of the priceless privilege that it is. Billy Graham expressed this thought well when he said: “Remember: He WANTS your fellowship, and He has done everything possible to make it a reality. He has forgiven your sins, at the cost of His own dear Son. He has given you His Word, and the priceless privilege of prayer and worship.”3
When you draw near to God through worshipping Him you set into motion the ability to know Him in a deep and intimate way, and there is nothing in this world that can satisfy our souls more than being in the presence of the Lord! I echo the words of A. W. Tozer who once proclaimed: “Nothing in or of this world measures up to the simple pleasure of experiencing the presence of God.”4 In addition, I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment of Saint Augustine who once said: “To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek him the greatest adventure; to find him, the greatest human achievement.”5
The Westminster Shorter Catechism asks the question: What is the chief end of man? To which it replies: Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever. I believe that when we offer true worship to God we can accomplish both, by glorifying His name and by enjoying His divine presence. Christian you were created to worship God so why not enter into worship right now!

Tears, Then Joyful Harvest | VCY
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. (Psalm 126:5)
Weeping times are suitable for sowing: we do not want the ground to be too dry. Seed steeped in the tears of earnest anxiety will come up all the sooner. The salt of prayerful tears will give the good seed a flavor which will preserve it from the worm: truth spoken in awful earnestness has a double life about it. Instead of stopping our sowing because of our weeping, let us redouble our efforts because the season is so propitious.
Our heavenly seed could not fitly be sown laughing. Deep sorrow and concern for the souls of others are a far more fit accompaniment of godly teaching than anything like levity. We have heard of men who went to war with a light heart, but they were beaten; and it is mostly so with those who sow in the same style.
Come, then, my heart, sow on in thy weeping, for thou has the promise of a joyful harvest. Thou shalt reap. Thou, thyself, shalt see some results of thy labor. This shall come to thee in so large a measure as to give thee joy, which a poor, withered, and scanty harvest would not do. When thine eyes are dim with silver tears, think of the golden corn. Bear cheerfully the present toil and disappointment; for the harvest day will fully recompense thee.

The great sadness that is found in the story of the flood is that apart from Noah, everyone on the earth had turned their face away from God. No one desired to look upon Him, to behold Him, and to set their gaze upon the face of the Lord.
The Bible tells us that Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. To find grace means to meet grace, not earn grace. When he looked upon the face of the Lord, Noah met grace. Noah met God’s grace before he ever assembled a piece of wood for the Ark. Noah met grace because it was there—in God’s heart, in God’s gaze, in God’s eyes.
Today, find a quiet place where you can gaze upon the face of the Lord. Fix your eyes upon His eyes. Look at Him looking at you. What do you see? If you are not certain, ask the Holy Spirit to clear your vision. Grace is there! Grace is focused upon you. No eyes have ever looked upon you with such kindness, with such compassion, with such care, with such favor. Blessing, goodness, gentleness, consolation—all are looking upon you.

I was reading the genealogy of Jesus again when it struck me how there are only three women mentioned by name in the whole genealogy: Tamar, Rahab and Mary.
Tamar was a widow who pretended to be a prostitute, slept with her father-in-law and got him to restore her honor. Rahab, a prostitute, helped the Israelites conquer Jericho. And Mary was already pregnant when she married Joseph, something that would have been severely frowned upon in her own Jewish community.
These three women became part of the genealogy of Jesus, in spite of the labels they might have carried within their own communities. I recently heard a young woman from a respected Christian family tell how she fell into adultery. When the story came out, she went to her father. He said to her, “That’s what you did, my daughter, that’s not who you are”
God, our Heavenly Father, sees who we really are, not the labels placed upon us by ourselves, our families or society. God sees our hearts.
Reflect: If God were to look at your heart today, what would He see?

Hunter: The Fix Is Still In
A looming indictment of the president’s son is only further evidence that Special Counsel David Weiss is doing his best to shield the Big Guy.

Yesterday evening, the airwaves were abuzz with news that federal prosecutors under U.S. attorney and Biden Crime Family lackey David Weiss had made a court filing indicating that they plan to seek a grand jury indictment of Hunter Biden sometime later this month.
“The filing,” as the AP reports, “came in a gun possession case in which Hunter Biden was accused of having a firearm while being a drug user, though prosecutors did not name exactly which charges they will seek. He has also been under investigation by federal prosecutors for his business dealings.”
Yippee, at long last an indictment! Right? Right?
Wrong.
This is no cause for celebration. Instead, it’s cause for further gnashing of teeth because it’s just one more indication that the fix is in when it comes to justice for the corrupt first son and his corrupt dad.
Why would we think such a thing? Because the filing indicates that Biden will be charged with that ancient federal gun form violation — the very same gun charge that Weiss could’ve brought forth at any time during the past five years but instead has doggedly been trying to make disappear. And that charge is very narrow, very tightly drawn, and thus designed to keep the investigation of Hunter Biden free and clear of any crimes that might implicate the Big Guy.
What sorts of crimes might those be? Oh, tax evasion comes to mind. Unfortunately — or fortunately, if you’re a Biden — the tax evasion ship has already sailed. Weiss made sure of that by running out the clock on the statute of limitations for those “alleged” crimes. And those were the crimes that connected Hunter and Joe and their influence-peddling operation — the crimes that really mattered. As National Review’s Andrew McCarthy points out, tax crimes “have a six-year statute of limitations, meaning Weiss has now obliterated any possible tax case based on conduct prior to September 6, 2017 — i.e., the tax years from 2014 through 2016, when Hunter took his post on the Burisma board and Joe leveraged his influence as vice president to pressure the new government in Kyiv to fire the prosecutor who was investigating Burisma.”
What Weiss is preparing to provide, then, is a tiny table scrap, a mere morsel, from a giant feast of Biden Crime Family transgressions. And this despite the fact that, as Just the News’s John Solomon reports, “Banking whistleblowers first began raising alarms about Hunter Biden’s business deals as long ago as Spring 2015 while his father was still serving as vice president, flagging what they feared were ‘suspicious’ transactions and ‘fraudulent’ schemes.”
Where the heck was Weiss during all this?
“Never forget,” writes McCarthy, himself a former federal prosecutor. “They think we’re idiots. That’s the main takeaway from Wednesday’s announcement by faux Special Counsel David Weiss that, by month’s end, he intends to indict Hunter Biden on a felony gun charge — the very same gun charge Weiss tried to make disappear just six weeks ago. By both regulation and performance, Weiss is unqualified to be a special counsel — which, naturally, is why Biden Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed him.”
Elsewhere in matters concerning the Biden Crime Family, we now have evidence that the Big Guy was helping his son with media spin regarding his involvement with Burisma. As House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer wrote in a press release yesterday:
Joe Biden never built an ‘absolute wall’ between his family’s business dealings and his official government work — his office doors were wide open to Hunter Biden’s associates. There is evidence of collusion in the efforts to spin media stories about Burisma’s corruption while Vice President Biden was publicly pushing an anti-corruption agenda in Ukraine. Suspiciously, Hunter Biden’s associate had a media statement on Burisma approved by Vice President Biden himself the same day Hunter Biden ‘called D.C.’ for help with the government pressure facing Burisma.
So much for Scranton Joe’s oft-repeated (and since walked-back) claim that he’s “never discussed” his son’s “overseas business dealings.”
Like Andy McCarthy said: They think we’re idiots.
No One’s Buying the Border Lies
When even Democrats are revolting, perhaps it’s time to reassess the gaslighting.

The border has been a longtime issue that’s gotten significantly worse under President Joe Biden and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. What in 2016 would have been considered a crisis level of illegal border crossings in a month is a daily occurrence in 2023.
Yet the president and his team are doing everything they can to gaslight the American people about the border and about their policies that have allowed for hundred of thousands more to enter via flights. All the while, they continue to insist that everything is fine.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre recently stated, “Look, the president has done what he can from here, from the federal government, from the White House to put forth and manage our border in a safe and humane way to respect the dignity of every human, as he says all the time, and making sure that our communities are safe, and you have seen him do that.”
By “done what he can,” she probably hoped we didn’t notice that Biden has been doing everything in his power to thwart border towns from increasing their border protection while simultaneously silently auctioning off bits of unused border wall.
Jean-Pierre’s worst gaslighting came later when she said: “The president has done more to secure the border and to deal with this issue of immigration than anybody else. He really has. June saw the single largest month-to-month drop in unlawful border crossing because of the policies this president put in place.” As National Review reports, Biden’s team has overseen the reversal of policies like Remain in Mexico and Title 42, both of which cut down exponentially on the influx of illegal border crossers.
No one is buying this fabrication from KJP. June may have seen a drop to “only” 100,000, but July (133,000) and August (180,000) saw spiking numbers again. August also saw an arrival of 91,000 members of a family group. That doesn’t even include the number of illegals invited in by the mobile app CBP One or via a loophole that allowed another influx of migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. The border-crosser numbers, according to Breitbart, should really be 260,000 for the month of August, and that doesn’t even count the “gotaways” who evaded detection altogether.
The estimate of total “gotaways” since Biden took office is something like 1.5 million.
Biden’s open border has created a humanitarian crisis among those desperate souls seeking to enter the country illegally. Women and children often suffer greatly at the hands of the unscrupulous cartels that “help” them cross the border. Older kids in particular are especially vulnerable to human trafficking. The vast majority of border crossings are “military aged men,” according to Breitbart — though last month marked the first month in Biden’s presidency that families made up the largest demographic. These men are taking American jobs, wreaking havoc in American cities, and filling up homeless shelters. There has also been a huge influx of fentanyl coming in with the illegal crossers. This deadly drug is bringing about devastation within American communities.
Not only is it a humanitarian crisis, but the influx of illegal immigrants is a huge drain on the tax dollars of American citizens. According to The Daily Wire, arresting and ejecting illegal immigrants, as well as housing and caring for the ones who have made it into the country, costs the American people approximately $151 billion per year.
Not even the Democrats are buying this song and dance about the border. According to a recent Fox News poll, Biden’s approval rating on the border is 35%, and a whopping 62% disapprove. It’s also one reason why Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is making rumblings in the Democrat primary. One of RFK Jr.‘s main platforms is his pitch to “secure the border” and “end this humanitarian crisis.” Which is probably sounding great to Democrats in sanctuary cities.
Speaking of such cities, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles are feeling the squeeze. Earlier this month, the governor of Massachusetts declared a state of emergency and called in the National Guard to help. Citizens of these states and cities are experiencing the flood of humanity thanks in part to the busing of migrants from border states like Texas and Florida. New Yorkers in particular are starting to raise Cain with protests and demonstrations.
This is a disaster entirely of the Democrats’ own making, but they are going to continue to allow the streams of humanity to enter and the invasion to continue.

- KJP “explains” Biden’s early exit from MOH ceremony: Vietnam veteran U.S. Army Captain Larry Taylor was honored with the Medal of Honor Tuesday at the White House. Our Mark Alexander attended and wrote about it. He and many others noted one bizarre thing: Joe Biden’s unexpected and hasty exit from the room before the closing benediction. “It was planned,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre laughably claimed. “He left when there was a pause in the program in order to minimize his close contact with attendees who are about to participate in a reception.” No one is buying that excuse. The commander-in-chief stayed for prior MOH ceremonies last year and the year prior during times when COVID numbers were much higher. Furthermore, “Biden was in close contact with people while maskless for the entire ceremony to that point,” observed Fox News’s Joe Concha. “The way this press secretary continues to insult the intelligence of anyone above a 50 IQ is breathtaking.” Unfortunately, Biden’s behavior along with KJP’s disingenuous excuse have distracted from a significant event honoring a genuine American hero.
- More Georgia RICO: Atlanta, Georgia, is not Portland, Oregon, in more ways than the mere difference in geographic location. On Tuesday, Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr indicted 61 individuals associated with the domestic terrorist organization known as antifa. Carr charged these thugs with violations of the Racketeering Influenced and Corruption Organizations Act (RICO) over their involvement in various violent acts meant to prevent the city of Atlanta from building a police training center in a forested area in DeKalb County. Following the indictments, Carr warned: “Looking the other way when violence occurs is not an option in Georgia. If you come to our state and shoot a police officer, throw Molotov cocktails at law enforcement, set fire to police vehicles, damage construction equipment, vandalize private homes and businesses, and terrorize their occupants, you can and will be held accountable.” Most of these individuals are not from Georgia and are members of an antifa group dubbed the Defend the Atlanta Forest movement that formed in the summer of 2020 following the death of George Floyd. They have been linked to more than 200 criminal acts since July 2020.
- Trump liable for defamation: Donald Trump has been found liable by a federal judge in a second civil case raised against him by former New York gossip columnist E. Jean Carroll. In this lawsuit, Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled that Trump was liable for making defamatory statements against Carroll. The lawsuit was raised by Carroll following statements Trump made against her in 2019. A jury will now decide how much Trump must pay in damages. Trump’s legal team dismissed Kaplan’s ruling by arguing that their appeal of the first case will be successful, thus rendering this ruling moot.
- NYC mayor whines about immigrants: New York City Mayor Eric Adams is clearly sick and tired of dealing with the migrant crisis. “I don’t see an ending to this,” he lamented at a town hall event Wednesday. “This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City.” Adams blasted Joe Biden for not providing support, but he stopped short of calling on the president to close the open southern border. Rather, Adams blamed Texas Governor Greg Abbott, calling him a “madman” for busing illegal aliens to New York. Yet Adams conveniently ignored the reason behind the busing: New York’s self-appointed “sanctuary” designation. Abbott didn’t put up the “illegals welcome here” sign in NYC — that was done by the Empire State’s Democrat leadership.
- Coach Kennedy resigns: After just one game back as a coach of a Washington state high school team, Joe Kennedy, the praying coach, tendered his resignation. After winning his seven-year-long battle against the school this summer, Kennedy explained, “It is apparent that the reinstatement ordered by the Supreme Court will not be fully followed after a series of actions meant to diminish my role and single me out in what I can only believe is retaliation by the school district.” Furthermore, he noted that he has a family member living out of the state who needs care. Finally, since this ordeal began, he has moved to Florida and was uncertain as to whether he would move back to Washington full time. Kennedy did commit himself to be an “advocate for constitutional freedom and religious liberty” and “will continue to work to help people understand and embrace the historic ruling at the heart of our case.”

The Green New War on Alaskan Oil
Just as Biden promised, he’s doing everything he can to thwart oil drilling and energy independence.

On January 20, 2021, the average price for a gallon of gas in the U.S. was $2.39; today it’s $3.80 — the highest seasonal level in a decade, albeit down from a June 2022 record of $5.02. We routinely pick that 2021 date because it was the day Joe Biden was inaugurated. It was also the day he set about to destroy the energy independence Donald Trump had worked so hard to achieve. On Wednesday, Biden announced his latest volley in the war on fossil fuels.
From canceling the Keystone Pipeline to limiting drilling permits to subsidizing and mandating electric vehicles, Biden has governed to the hard left. To be fair, he also campaigned that way, saying: “No more drilling on federal lands, period. Period, period, period.” He pledged to achieve the Green New Deal vision to “end fossil fuels.” In reality, this dystopian vision has exacerbated rampant inflation.
The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is a massive wilderness area in northern Alaska managed by the Interior Department. But it holds billions of barrels of oil, as well as the possibility of $40 billion in economic activity and 77,000 jobs.
After congressional legislation authorized it, Trump opened the area to drilling and held a sale on leases in January 2021. “The oil and gas industry largely failed to embrace the 2021 lease sale,” scoffed NBC News, “which generated just $14 million in high bids, mostly from AIDEA,” the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority. Well sure. Trump had just lost the 2020 election and oil companies aren’t run by fools. They knew Biden would yank those permits long before oil could actually be extracted.
Indeed, Biden suspended the seven leases later in 2021 and has now officially canceled them, along with banning drilling anywhere on more than 40% of National Petroleum Reserve lands. After angering many climate cultists with his March approval of the Willow Project, another drilling effort in northern Alaska, Biden had to signal that he’s still a true believer.
Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski is sometimes rumored to be a Republican, and in this case she sounded like one. “It just kind of sends a signal that when it comes to Alaska, it depends on the whim of an administration,” Murkowski said of Biden’s move. She added, “These decisions are illegal, reckless, defy all common sense, and are the latest signs of an incoherent energy policy from President Biden.”
Administration policy is definitely not conducive to basic good business practices, never mind energy independence or doing what’s best for American consumers. No business, oil companies included, can possibly invest in big projects when there are such drastic pendulum swings between administrations.
“The constant barrage of government regulation changes and whipsaws tells investors that Alaska is not a place to do business,” noted Alaska Oil and Gas Association President Kara Moriarty. That “makes no sense because Alaska has high environmental standards and some of the lowest emissions in the country.”
The Heritage Foundation’s Jack Spencer adds, “The American gas and oil industry has a strong record working along Alaska’s coastal plain, having safely produced around 18 billion barrels of oil since production began at Prudhoe Bay in 1977.”
Regardless of such pesky facts, Democrats have become so rabidly cultish about climate change that fossil fuels and the oil companies that extract them are among their favorite bogeymen.
Biden practically said as much in a statement: “As the climate crisis warms the Arctic more than twice as fast as the rest of the world, we have a responsibility to protect this treasured region for all ages. Canceling all remaining oil and gas leases issued under the previous administration in the Arctic Refuge and protecting more than 13 million acres in the Western Arctic will help preserve our Arctic lands and wildlife, while honoring the culture, history, and enduring wisdom of Alaska Natives who have lived on these lands since time immemorial.”
Funny, but he didn’t mention that it’s also Bidenomics, which is the practice of driving up prices as high as possible in service to the Left’s radical agenda.
We don’t want to overstate the consequences of canceling one batch of leases. This single move isn’t going to send gas prices back up to $5 a gallon, and it isn’t going to cripple American oil production.
Yet it’s part of a pattern that is “accomplishing” all of those things.
Aside from the aforementioned pipeline and lease cancellations, Biden also plundered the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to help his flagging poll numbers. Not only did it not help his numbers, but it put the SPR at its lowest level in nearly 40 years. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm told lawmakers in March that it could take years to restock it. In August, the administration delayed restocking again as oil prices rose. Biden doesn’t want to be hit with his own inflation given that Brent crude is trading around $90 a barrel now, up 25% since June.
More than once, Biden went hat in hand to beg the Saudis to increase oil production in order to cover his own cuts. That didn’t pan out. In fact, Saudi Arabia and Russia are cutting production, in part to keep prices and margins high, and in part to squeeze Biden and America.
Biden’s energy policy has been a disaster for Americans in just about every way. But maybe we now know why Biden is otherwise inexplicably going to spend September 11 in Alaska.

As the Senate comes back from August recess, Senator Tommy Tuberville’s stand against military abortion funding takes center stage.

As the Senate returns from its August recess, one of the top focal points for the Biden administration is to smash the roadblock that is Alabama Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville.
For months now, Tuberville has held the line on his demand that the Biden administration reverse course on its unprecedented and arguably unconstitutional decision to pay for service members’ transportation to other states in order to obtain elective abortions. Of course, the Biden administration maintains the fiction that such elective abortion services are essential to ensuring “service members and their families have access to reproductive health no matter where they are stationed.” At best, this is a violation of the spirit of the longstanding bipartisan-supported Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal funding for abortions.
Refusing to back down, Team Biden ran a blitz against the old football coach in the form of a Washington Post op-ed cowritten by the secretaries of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. They warn of “the dangers of politicizing our military leaders” and insist, “It is time to lift this dangerous hold and confirm our senior military leaders.”
The people politicizing the military occupy the White House.
Since Tuberville took his principled stand, the U.S. military has incurred a backlog of hundreds of pending officer promotions, including the heads of three of the five military branches — the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps.
The Democrat-controlled Senate could easily take the time to individually vote on these officer promotions, especially the pending heads of the military branches. But rather than doing so, which would involve more time that could potentially derail some of the Democrats’ legislative agenda, they have chosen to play what amounts to a game of chicken.
Democrats and the Biden administration argue that Tuberville’s stand is threatening national defense by impacting military readiness. Yet if that were indeed the case, Senate Democrats would have long ago acted to hold individual nominations. And according to calculations by the Washington Examiner’s Conn Carroll, “[Senator Chuck] Schumer could have been popping one [confirmation] out every two hours for the past 40 days.”
This is a battle of political wills. Tuberville is standing between Joe Biden and an expansion of the power of the executive branch beyond constitutional limits — all because the commander-in-chief and his administration view elective abortion as a (non-enumerated) constitutional right. (Where do we apply for subsidizing elective gun purchases? Asking for a friend.) But Congress doesn’t see it that way, and Biden knows he can’t get what he wants via the legislative process, so he’s going around it.
Thus far, Tuberville has proven himself much more of a stalwart than the Biden administration bargained for. And it appears this game of chicken is nowhere near ending. As Tuberville rightly sees it, the lives of pre-born Americans are at stake, not just a political agenda.
How Burning Man Became Uncool

This week, the Burning Man festival — a convocation of large groups of men and women seeking sex, drugs, rock ‘n’ roll and other forms of hedonistic bliss — was flooded. It seems that a half-inch of rain swamped the event, which takes place in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, turning the dust to deep and sticky mud. The images of barely clad neo-hippies struggling to walk through the muck spread like wildfire across the internet; even the White House was forced to acknowledge that it was monitoring the situation.
For a huge swath of Americans, all of this was simply amusing. But the rise and mainstreaming of Burning Man is a far more interesting story than its pathetic possible demise. Burning Man was founded in 1986, when some hippie types gathered at the beach in San Francisco to burn a nine-foot-tall wooden man. Over time, the bonfire became larger and larger, until eventually it moved to Nevada, where it has been located ever since. Each year, 100,000 people head out to the middle of the desert to participate in events ranging from impromptu art exhibits to orgies and mass drug use.
The fundamental principles of Burning Man are spelled out in co-founder Larry Harvey’s 10 Principles, written in 2004. These principles construct a paganistic morality built around a bevy of mutually exclusive notions. For example, Burning Man is about “radical inclusion… No prerequisites exist for participation in our community.” But Burning Man is also “devoted to acts of gift giving.” Unfortunately, without some form of mutuality, giving alone cannot form the basis of a functioning society, even temporarily. All of which means that Burning Man features social pressure to ostracize free-riders — a tragic violation of the radical inclusion principle.
Burning Man values “radical self-expression,” which cannot be defined by anyone other “than the individual or a collaborating group.” But such radical self-expression quickly comes into conflict with Burning Man’s call for “civic responsibility,” which surely encroaches on the unlimited right to self-expression. Burning Man also values “immediacy,” which it calls “the most important touchstone of value in our culture.” But Burning Man also calls for the community to “clean up after ourselves,” which runs directly counter to the premise of immediacy.
All of this would be sheer countercultural nonsense, except for one perverse fact: The counterculture has now become the culture. This accounts for the fact that Burning Man now seems tired and played out, less transgressive than wearied. The age of Burning Man attendees has increased over the past decade (average age in 2013 was 32, compared to 37 just nine years later); so has the average income (in 2006, 14% of Burners listed their personal income at above $100,000, compared to 27.4% by 2016). Influencers now show up at Burning Man to sell Popeye’s Spicy Chicken; Elon Musk, Paris Hilton and Mark Zuckerberg have shown up.
And herein lies the problem for the broader American culture. Our elite class used to be inculcated in the same set of baseline values as “normal” Americans: John D. Rockefeller was a regular churchgoer; so was Cornelius Vanderbilt. Today, our elites participate in drug-fueled binges in the desert — or at least wish to appear as though they do. Throughout the 1930s, even the poorest Americans aspired to dress well, wearing suits even on the breadlines. Today, even the richest Americans dress as though they shop at Salvation Army.
When elites promulgate countercultural garbage that eats at the roots of fundamental societal institutions, societal bonds dissolve. Ironically, that dissolution occurs first at the lowest rungs of the income ladder: As Charles Murray points out, “The belief that being a good American involved behaving in certain kinds of ways, and that the nation itself relied upon a certain kind of people in order to succeed, had begun to fade and has not revived.” In fact, those who live out lives of good decision-making are, all too often, embarrassed of their good choices. To promote those choices might seem “judgmental.”
That is the real tragedy of Burning Man: its mainstreaming. Every society has its oddball behaviors. Only sick societies incentivize their imitation.

House Oversight Committee Hits DHS Secretary Mayorkas, 5 Others with Subpoenas Over ‘Biden Family Coverup’ | The Western Journal.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has issued subpoenas to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and several officials from the Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service.
The subpoenas are part of an investigation into allegations that the Secret Service tipped off the Biden transition team about a planned interview of Hunter Biden in connection with a tax probe in 2020, Fox News reported.
In total, six subpoenas were sent out, including one to Mayorkas for documents and five for depositions.
Two of these depositions were directed toward Secret Service officials, and the remaining three were aimed at DHS officials, according to the report.
The Oversight Committee accused the Department of Justice of initiating a cover-up related to the Biden family and suggested that DHS, under Mayorkas’ leadership, is complicit in this cover-up.
“The Department of Justice initiated the Biden family coverup, and now DHS, under the leadership of Secretary Mayorkas, is complicit in it,” the committee said in the post.
“IRS whistleblowers provided testimony regarding alleged misconduct during the Hunter Biden criminal investigation, including FBI HQ tipping off Secret Service HQ and the Biden transition team about the planned Hunter Biden interview.”
These allegations stem from IRS whistleblowers who provided testimony regarding misconduct during the Hunter Biden criminal investigation, specifically concerning the one involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation and its potential bias.

“The Department of Homeland Security is obstructing our investigation by muzzling the Secret Service from providing a response to Congress,” Comer asserted in a news release. “The American people deserve transparency, not obstruction.”
Comer’s subpoenas also targeted specific individuals. These include K. Shiek Pal, the director of oversight for DHS’ Office of Legislative Affairs; Zephranie Buetow, assistant secretary to OLA; Stephen Jonas, DHS senior adviser to the general counsel; Vincent Tutoni, assistant director of the Secret Services’ Intergovernmental and Legislative Affairs office; and David McKeown, the acting special agent in charge of the congressional affairs program for the Secret Service.
A DHS official responded to these allegations, denying that the agency had obstructed the committee’s investigation and saying that they were working to respond to the committee’s inquiries before the subpoenas were issued, according to Fox News.
In a letter addressed to Mayorkas, Comer said, “This is only one example of a systemic problem throughout the investigation that allowed Hunter Biden to avoid accountability and answering difficult questions about the source of his income, the legality of his actions, and the people who worked with and benefitted from his worldwide efforts to peddle access to his father.”
Comer emphasized that the Oversight Committee, along with the Judiciary and Ways and Means Committees, is seeking interviews with key witnesses, including Secret Service employees.
The subpoenas follow whistleblower testimonies earlier this year, which alleged that political considerations influenced prosecutorial decisions in the Hunter Biden investigation.
Multiple whistleblowers, according to Comer, testified that the Secret Service had been tipped off in December 2020 about the planned interview of Hunter Biden, resulting in the Biden transition team being notified and the interview not taking place.
In June, the Oversight Committee, along with other committees, requested interviews with relevant agency employees. However, there was “uncharacteristic delay and opacity” in the Secret Service’s response, Comer said in the letter to Mayorkas.
Comer accused the DHS Office of Legislative Affairs of instructing the Secret Service to “withhold” their response, which he considered obstruction of a congressional investigation.
Comer detailed the ongoing communication between the committee and the Secret Service, highlighting that responsive documents and testimony were not provided as requested.
He raised concerns about discrepancies in the Secret Service’s responses and called for further information regarding the efforts of DHS to block a response from the Secret Service.
“DHS OLA’s decision to instruct the Secret Service not to provide this response appears to constitute obstruction of a Congressional investigation, and the attached subpoenas require the immediate and full cooperation of DHS,” Comer wrote in his letter.
The DHS official countered Comer’s claims, saying the agency had followed standard procedures for responding to congressional inquiries, while ensuring the protection of law enforcement sensitivities, ongoing investigations, privacy, privilege issues and response consistency, Fox News reported.
The official emphasized that these procedures had been used across multiple Congresses and were necessary for accurate and uniform responses.
“These reviews are a normal and necessary step in the process to ensure protection of law enforcement sensitivities, matters relating to ongoing investigations, privacy and privilege issues, consistency in our responses, and more,” the official said.
The Secret Service, for its part, responded to the committee, saying that it could not identify any current employees with “first-hand knowledge” of the reported advance notice regarding the attempted contact with Biden in December 2020, The Hill reported.
The House Oversight Committee’s social media post indicated they plan to continue their probe, despite the roadblocks.
“We will continue to fight for transparency and accountability on behalf of the American people,” they wrote.

OTTOWA, ON — In a country-wide broadcast this week, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau denied ever forcing COVID-19 vaccinations on Canadian citizens and also reminded the general public that Canada has always been at war with Eurasia.
“Ingsoc…I mean…the Liberal Party, would like to remind Canadian residents that just as we have never had peace with Euraisia, I also never ever told the public they had to be vaccinated or lose their jobs,” Trudeau announced over Canada’s network of in-home telescreens. “Let this serve as a reminder that anyone found in disagreement with this proclamation will be remitted immediately to the Ministry of Love for reeducation!”
Canadians reacted to the message with mixed emotions. “I could have sworn he mandated that all truckers entering the Canadian border had to be vaccinated or they would lose their commercial drivers’ license,” said Ottowa citizen Winston Smith, who was never heard from again.
Trudeau went on to say, “While not forcing anyone to get vaccinated, I chose to make sure all the incentives and all the protections were there to encourage Canadians to get vaccinated. Now let us begin the Two Minutes Hate towards Eurasia and the unvaccinated!”
As of press time, Trudeau’s image was seen projected on the sides of buildings with the message “Justin Is Watching” scrawled underneath. Liberal Thought Police were on hand to gently remind skeptical residents they must comply or be lovingly starved and tortured to bring their beliefs in line with the Party.

If you thought the horrendous Ukrainian casualties and Ukraine’s failure to penetrate the first line of the Surovikin defense after more than three months of combat would finally penetrate the thick skulls of “O’Bidens” national security team and a slew of military pundits and awaken them to the impending Ukrainian debacle, think again. These folks are doubling down on a losing hand. They ain’t pretending. They really believe the crap they are spinning.
Here are some of the more fantastical comments from Antony Blinken during a Wednesday press conference in Kiev with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Kuleba.
The United States is committed to empowering Ukraine to write its own future. In the crucible of President Putin’s brutal and ongoing war, the United States and Ukraine have forged a partnership that is stronger than ever and growing every day. We will continue to stand by Ukraine’s side, and today we’re announcing new assistance totaling more than $1 billion in this common effort. That includes $665.5 million in new military and civilian security assistance. In total we committed over $43 billion in security assistance since the beginning of the Russian aggression.
Now, since I was last here almost exactly one year ago, Ukrainian forces have taken back more than 50 percent of the territory seized by Russian forces since February of 2022. In the ongoing counteroffensive, progress has accelerated in the past few weeks. This new assistance will help sustain it and build further momentum.
Someone needs to teach Tony how to read a map of Ukraine and how to count. The West continues to harp on Russia’s withdrawal from Kharkiv a year ago as a major defeat for Russia. Giving up hundreds of square kilometers of farmland is not militarily significant. Russia, by contrast, continued to advance westward — remember Bakhmut and the long list of cities and villages Russia captured prior to that battle? Russia’s capture and control of Melitopol and Mariupol remains unchallenged. Just because Ukraine is doing the equivalent of accelerating a car into a concrete embankment does not mean the ensuing car wreck is a success. The slaughter of Ukrainian forces continues, Ukrainian cemeteries are bursting at the seams and Russia is turning the Western supplied tanks and armored vehicles into smoldering junk piles on a daily basis.
The new security funding that we’re announcing today will also be bolstered by the arrival of U.S. Abrams tanks this fall and by training for Ukrainian pilots on F-16s in the United States, complementing training that is already underway in Europe.
Even as we maximize our support for Ukraine to counter the current Russian aggression, we’re committed to helping Ukraine build a force for the future that can deter and defend against future aggression. Today with President Zelenskyy, I discussed longer-term sustainable security arrangements which will provide ongoing security assistance and modern military equipment across land, air, sea, and cyberspace, as well as training and intelligence sharing. The State Department is leading these discussions, which will continue in the months ahead.
Hey Zelensky. Be cool, my man. Joey Baby is sending you 50 year old combat planes that have zero chance of surviving a meeting with Russian air defense. Sounds like a “game changer” to me. Where exactly is this “force for the future” going to be trained? In 29 separate locations with 29 instructors speaking 29 different languages? What could go wrong with that scenario? I am sure that Europe will be thrilled to host newly dragooned Ukrainian recruits suffering from HIV or tuberculosis.
Now, Russia claims it would be willing to return to the Black Sea Grain Initiative if its conditions are met. The United Nations has put forward a proposal that meets those conditions, but Putin continues to hold out. Meanwhile, Russia is using the hunger and market distortion that it’s created to profit from record-breaking exports of its own grain. As we build international pressure on Russia to return to the Black Sea Grain Initiative, we’re working with Ukraine to find and use alternative routes for its grain shipments to other countries.
For Ukraine not only to survive, but to thrive, we’re also supporting its efforts to rebuild from Russia’s aggression. At the Ukraine Recovery Conference held in London a few months ago, I pledged that the United States would invest more than $520 million in making Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, more than half of which has been destroyed by Russia, cleaner, more resilient, and more integrated with Europe. We’re making new investments to enhance the transparency of Ukraine’s institutions and to bolster the rule of law so that Ukraine’s democracy is even more responsive to the needs of its people and can attract the private capital needed to rebuild.
Pouring money into bottomless maw of Ukrainian corruption is only guaranteed to enrich the guys and gals backing Zelensky. It is no coincidence that Zelensky “fired” former Ukrainian Defense Chief Reznikov for being “corrupt” on the eve of his meeting with Blinken. Really? Reznikov is on the take? Then why was he not arrested? Oh, I forgot. Zelensky reportedly is punishing him for his corruption by sending him to London as Ukraine’s Ambassador. Oh, the horror! Imagine the pain Reznikov will suffer having to endure conversations and a drink or two with Rishi Sunak and other British luminaries. I hope he likes Fish & Chips and warm beer. It is now clear that dumping Reznikov was nothing more than a propaganda gesture designed to placate a lazy press eager to write more pablum about Zelensky cracking down on ripoff artists.

Furthermore, Holder initiated bogus investigations into administration corruption designed to exonerate Obama and his administration of wrongdoing. Larry Sinclair, the man who claims to have had a sexual encounter with former President Barack Obama in 1999, took to X (formerly Twitter) Wednesday to issue a statement promising explosive revelations. Sinclair specifically thanks Tucker Carlson and unnamed others for inspiring him to come forward and “put everything on the table.”
On Tuesday, Tucker Carlson released a teaser of his recorded interview with Larry Sinclair which is scheduled to air on Tucker’s show on X Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET.
Larry Sinclair first made his allegations public in 2008, just before Obama’s first presidential election, claiming that he had smoked crack and had sex with Obama. Despite Sinclair’s criminal record and the widely disputed nature of his claims, Tucker Carlson has been vocal in his support of Sinclair’s story, insisting that the allegations hold truth.

Tucker Carlson: You’re just a guy who’s in town for the night, and it sounds like you’re looking to party.
Larry Sinclair: Yeah. Pulled up in a bar outside, and there’s this guy that’s introduced to me as Barack Obama. I had given Barack $250 to pay for coke. I start putting a line on a CD tray to snort, and the next thing I know, he’s got a little pipe, and he’s smoking. So I just started rubbing my hand along his thigh to see where it was going, and it went in the direction I had intended it to go.
Tucker Carlson: Even though you had sex with him twice, you did cocaine with him, watched him smoke crack twice, you had no idea who he was?
Larry Sinclair: I had no idea who he was.
Tucker Carlson: Let me just ask the obvious question. What was Obama like?

Larry Sinclair: It definitely wasn’t Barack’s first time, and I would almost be willing to bet you it wasn’t as long.
Tucker Carlson: The guy’s running for president. Incredible information comes out that he’s smoking crack and having sex with dudes. That seems like a story.
Larry Sinclair: Well, it would be a story if the media really cared about telling people the truth.
Sinclair, who has been the subject of controversies and rumors over the years, acknowledged that he’s been through “15 years of hell.” Sinclair expressed that today’s interview with Tucker Carlson served as the push he needed to “put everything out on the table.”
Sinclair said that he will reveal “the whole story from beginning to end, everything.” The aim is to debunk what he claims to be “lies, distortions, misrepresentations, outright false statements.”

Scientists Have Created A Human “Entity” That Has No Mother Or Father | The Economic Collapse.
Scientists all over the world continue to “play God”, and we are all going to have to live with the consequences. Every single day, incredibly bizarre experiments are being conducted in secret laboratories all over the planet. I have frequently warned my readers about the very deadly diseases that are being developed in such laboratories, but other types of extremely sick experiments are happening as well. For example, it is being reported that one team of researchers has now been able to create a human “entity” that does not have a mother or a father. In fact, it was created “without using sperm, an egg or a womb”…
Scientists report they have grown the early stages of a human embryo-like entity without using sperm, an egg or a womb.
The ’embryo model’ even releases hormones that triggered a positive pregnancy test.
This is like something out of a science fiction novel.
Why in the world would they even consider doing something like this?
They are telling us that using such “entities” will make medical research easier, and frankly that makes me want to vomit.
There is no way that doing this sort of thing should be legal.
But it is.
This team of researchers was able to create a human “entity” without a mother or a father by starting with naive stem cells…
Instead of a sperm and egg, the starting material was naive stem cells which were reprogrammed to gain the potential to become any type of tissue in the body.
According to the BBC, chemicals were used to encourage these stem cells to develop into four unique cell types that are involved in the earliest stages of human embryo development…
- epiblast cells, which become the embryo proper (or foetus)
- trophoblast cells, which become the placenta
- hypoblast cells, which become the supportive yolk sac
- extraembryonic mesoderm cells
Those cell types were then “mixed in a precise ratio”, and what happened next is extremely alarming…
A total of 120 of these cells were mixed in a precise ratio – and then, the scientists step back and watch.
About 1% of the mixture began the journey of spontaneously assembling themselves into a structure that resembles, but is not identical to, a human embryo.
Professor Jacob Hanna of the Weizmann Institute is the leader of the team that conducted this research, and he claims that the “entity” which was produced “is really a textbook image of a human day-14 embryo”…
‘This is really a textbook image of a human day-14 embryo, [which] hasn’t been done before,’ said Professor Hanna.
If such an entity can survive to that stage, could it go all the way and actually become a full-blown baby?
Now that this breakthrough has been achieved, it is just a matter of time before someone tries to do that.
And just imagine the implications if this eventually starts happening on a widespread basis.
Babies could literally be grown on a massive scale all over the globe.
Instead of having children the natural way, parents could just order a baby that meets certain specifications.
And any babies that came out with “defects” would inevitably be discarded.
Alternatively, it is easy to imagine entire armies being “grown” by tyrannical rulers just like we have seen in certain science fiction movies.
Would such “entities” be truly human?
Would they even have souls?
There is so much that we don’t know, and hopefully this sort of work will be banned so that we will never find out.
Unfortunately, there is very little holding the scientific community back at this point.
Most of the general population has no idea what is going on in these secret labs, and most of our politicians don’t seem to care.
And so “science” will continue to advance all over the globe with very little resistance at all.
In addition to experiments that are creating new life, researchers are also searching for ways to cheat death.
In recent years, swapping blood with the young has become a very hot trend among America’s billionaires. Here is just one example…
Until recently, Bryan Johnson was paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to infuse one litre of his teenage son’s youthful plasma into his own ageing blood stream every month. “I’ve never paid more attention to what he’s eating … because that was going into my body,” the 46-year-old American tech entrepreneur says on new podcast The Immortals. Guys like Johnson have more money than they will ever need.
But they know that their days are limited.
So in a desperate attempt to “buy more time”, they are literally injecting the blood of young people into their own veins.
This is another thing that shouldn’t be done.
And it is probably dangerous.
But nobody is going to stop them.
In fact, the pace of scientific change will continue to march forward at an exponential rate.
Given enough time, our world would be transformed into something stranger than anything that Hollywood has ever dreamed up.
But our scientists won’t have enough time to do that, because the truth is that time is running out for our society.
Our self-destructive tendencies will soon absolutely overwhelm us, and no amount of “research” will be able to turn things around at that point.
