There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true. —Soren Kierkegaard. "…truth is true even if nobody believes it, and falsehood is false even if everybody believes it. That is why truth does not yield to opinion, fashion, numbers, office, or sincerity–it is simply true and that is the end of it" – Os Guinness, Time for Truth, pg.39. “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” – Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
There was once an ancient man who so pursued the Lord, seeking always to glorify God no matter what came his way, no matter how crooked his lot, that even God himself could proclaim of him that “He still holds fast his integrity” (Job 2:3). Of course, Job’s ability to “hold fast” to his integrity would be challenged through extreme suffering, nonetheless holding fast – that is, patiently persevering – is a virtue the Lord delighted to see in his servant.
Patience, from the Greek ὑπομονή (hupomone) carries the idea of remaining or enduring under, often translated as steadfastness. But it is a steadfastness in and through suffering, hence our English word patience, with its Latin root pati, meaning to suffer. An older English word, forbearance, helps get at the idea – the patient man courageously forbearing underneath the weight of suffering. Which leads to an obvious question, why would anyone want to wait patiently under suffering? Shouldn’t a sense of self-preservation move us to avoid suffering, much less, wait patiently under it?
Listen to the wisdom of James, speaking to those Christians undergoing their own suffering in the first century church: “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
“All the acts of his power and might, and the full account of the high honor of Mordecai, to which the king advanced him, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia? For Mordecai the Jew was second in rank to King Ahasuerus, and he was great among the Jews and popular with the multitude of his brothers, for he sought the welfare of his people and spoke peace to all his people.”
Occasionally in the course of history, a single person has arisen without whose presence everything would be different. One such person was Winston Churchill, the former British prime minister, statesman, and defender of freedom. No student of history is able honestly to disavow that the history of the Second World War and its consequences would have been radically different if Churchill had not stepped forward. Though often the tide of history seems to flow inexorably on regardless of the actions of any one person, you will be able to think of those in your own nation and society who have diverted history’s course in a decisive way.
Back in the 5th century BC, Mordecai was one such individual. The events of his life were recorded in the chronicles of Media and Persia because if he had not arisen, things would have been markedly different.
Mordecai wasn’t a Persian. He was a Jew and lived as a Jew, honoring a different God (the only true God), living in a different way and keeping different traditions than the Persians. Yet even though he was so obviously different, he was honored by the Persians, not because he spoke out of both sides of his mouth or sought to curry favor with King Ahasuerus but because of his absolute integrity and moral consistency. Mordecai didn’t set out to be liked. He set out to do what was right—what God had given him to do.
When someone is given a position of significant influence, they often become unpopular because others are jealous. Mordecai’s lasting popularity with his fellow Jews was uncommon. It may have been in part because Mordecai cared about them. He did not become isolated from or disinterested in his people but instead used his position for the welfare of others, rather than the enrichment of himself, and to speak “peace to all his people.” As one commentator sums it up, “Mordecai’s lasting legacy is that he combined service to the king with service to his people, without compromising on either account. He serves both and speaks up for both, desiring for both their good and their peace.”[1]
Learn from Mordecai. Aim to do what is right—what God has given you to do, in the place and the time He has assigned for you. Like Mordecai, let your legacy be one by which people recognize that because you have a mind for God, you also have a mind for others—doing all you can to bring them rest, welfare, peace, and prosperity. Your deeds may or may not make it into the history books of this world—but they will be recorded and celebrated in eternity.
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. (Psalm 118:17)
A fair assurance this! It was no doubt based upon a promise, inwardly whispered in the psalmist’s heart, which he seized upon and enjoyed. Is my case like that of David? Am I depressed because the enemy affronts me? Are there multitudes against me and few on my side? Does unbelief bid me lie down and die in despair-a defeated, dishonored man? Do my enemies begin to dig my grave?
What then? Shall I yield to the whisper of fear, and give up the battle, and with it give up all hope? Far from it. There is life in me yet: “I shall not die.” Vigor will return and remove my weakness: “I shall live.” The Lord lives, and I shall live also. My mouth shall again be opened: “I shall declare the works of Jehovah.” Yes, and I shall speak of the present trouble as another instance of the wonder-working faithfulness and love of the Lord my God. Those who would gladly measure me for my coffin had better wait a bit, for “the Lord hath chastened me sore, but he hath not given me over unto death.” Glory be to His name forever! I am immortal till my work is done. Till the Lord wills it, no vault can close upon me.
“They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 6:5)
“Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people.” (Acts 6:8)
What fills up your being? The book of Acts gives us a compelling description of Stephen. I long to be characterized as he was.
Consider what these qualities would mean in a person’s life:
Full of faith – Faith in God is not wishful thinking or hoping that all our personal desires will be fulfilled. Faith believes that God created us, loved us, redeemed us and is in the process of transforming us.
Full of the Holy Spirit –A life full of the Spirit is in tune with God’s desires and purposes and follows His leading rather than demanding her own way or seeking her own wants or needs.
Full of God’s grace –Patient and generous, she gives herself in service to others without expecting anything in return.
Full of God’s power –Able to withstand the attacks of Satan and the world, her foundation cannot be shaken because it is rooted in Jesus Christ our Rock and our Redeemer.
How do you define faith? What do you most want to be full of and why?
Father we want to be full of You. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Fill us with faith. Fill us with Your grace. Fill us with Your power. Amen
“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.” – Psalm 139:7-8
One hymn that blesses me most begins with “Holy, Holy, Holy” and ends with the trilogy of “God in three persons, blessed Trinity.” As Christians, God is within us in Himself, His Son and the Holy Spirit.
I remember when my wife was explaining her faith to a Jewish girl, who commented that her faith had one god and ours had three. My wife explained the trinity to her.
Both faiths worship the same God. We as Christians recognize that He sent His only son as Messiah on earth to save His people. Jesus paid the ransom for our sin and then went back to heaven, but did not leave us alone.
The Spirit will not prompt us to do anything that goes against Scripture. Make sure we’re listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit, not the voice of your own desires. We know which is which by checking this voice against the truth of God’s Word.
God made us. Jesus paid for our sins and the Holy Spirit lives within us. Once we ask Jesus into our heart, He plants the Holy Spirit there for all of our life, as counselor, guide and provider of peace, knowing our weakness and revealing Jesus purpose for our lives.
TAKE ACTION: When you awaken, whisper the name of Jesus to become aware of the ever presence of the Holy Spirit within your heart. He is there ready to lead, guide and keep you focused on Jesus.
Lord, I thank you that you have not left me alone and that the Holy Spirit gives me leading, Godly wisdom and reminds me of my sin. With the Holy Spirit, I can take each day step by step and live my life for Christ.

Scientists Recover RNA From an Extinct Species for the First Time The last known thylacine—the largest marsupial carnivore in recent times—died in Tasmania’s Beaumaris Zoo in 1936. But the animal has recently been the target of de-extinction efforts, and now, a team of researchers has managed to recover RNA from the creature—the first time such a feat has been accomplished for any extinct species. Recently, the ‘de-extinction’ company Colossal Biosciences stated it would attempt to produce a proxy species to the thylacine and introduce it to the forests of Tasmania,

The Biden DOJ’s woefully weak charge against a primary January 6 inciter does nothing to dispel the suspicions of government involvement that day.
Douglas Andrews
One thing we’re learning about the Biden Justice Department: The longer it takes to bring charges, the softer those charges tend to be — so long as you have preferred seating within the Left’s two-tiered justice system.
Take the Hunter Biden case, for example, in which then-prosecutor and now special counsel David Weiss kicked the can down the road for five years or so, dragging his feet so as to allow the statute of limitations to expire on the more serious and more far-reaching charges of tax evasion while focusing on a tightly defined gun charge, all to keep his investigation from accidentally ensnaring President Big Guy. The result? The sweetest of sweetheart deals for the president’s money-grubbing scumbag son. For failing to pay a couple hundred thousand in federal taxes, Hunter Biden got to cop to two misdemeanors while receiving an unheard-of probationary dismissal of a felony gun charge.
Weiss’s plan ultimately blew up in his face when a right-thinking judge refused to rubber-stamp the ridiculous plea deal, but that didn’t make it any less corrupt, any less sleazy.
And then there’s the mysterious Ray Epps, who first came to our attention nearly two years ago and who today is expected to plead guilty to a single measly misdemeanor count of “Disorderly or Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds.” Mind you, this is the guy was captured clear-as-day on multiple video recordings exhorting a huge crowd of his fellow January 6 protesters, “We need to go in to the Capitol!” and whispering sweet nothings into the ear of a fellow protester right before that protester tore down a police barricade and allowed the approaching masses to stream toward the Capitol.
Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.
As The Federalist’s headline put it: “On The Darkest Day In American History, Ray Epps Was Just A Little Rascal.”
Independent journalist Julie Kelly, who’s covered the events of J6 more doggedly than perhaps anyone, put it this way: “Epps not only encouraged people to go into the Capitol on Jan 5 and 6, he was one of the first to breach exterior lines, interfered with security, and remained on restricted grounds for more than an hour. At the very least, he should have been charged with 1512(c)(2)” — which is obstructing, influencing, or impeding an official proceeding.
As Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie asked of mob lawyer Attorney General Merrick Garland at the time: “There’s a concern that there were agents of the government, who were assets of the government, who were present on January 5th and 6th during the protests. As far as we can determine, the individual who was saying he’ll probably go to jail, he’ll probably be arrested, but they need to go into the Capitol the next day, is then the next day directing people to the Capitol. And as far as we can find, this individual has not been charged with anything. You said this is one of the most sweeping [investigations] in history.”
Sweeping indeed. Some 1,033 people were ultimately arrested for their involvement in the events that ranged from sightseeing to riot, and federal prosecutors have charged nearly 950 of them. But somehow, for some reason, it took them more than two-and-a-half years to charge one of the most obvious inciters of them all — and then with only a single pinkie-slap misdemeanor. Recall that just two weeks ago, Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio was sentenced to 22 years in prison for “seditious conspiracy,” despite not even having been at the Capitol that day.
As for Epps, columnist Sean Davis notes that he’s been “personally featured on the FBI’s pinned J6 tweet for years.” Indeed, he was right there on the bureau’s “Most Wanted” poster before his likeness was quietly yanked down. Oops.
The FBI took the Fifth when asked about whether it had human assets on site that day. And it most assuredly did — at least if we’re to believe the words of Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times reporter Matt Rosenberg, who was there himself that day and who said, “There were a ton of FBI informants among the people who attacked the Capitol.”
And yet despite all this funny stuff surrounding Ray Epps, despite the DOJ’s singularly unique treatment of this one man among more than a thousand protesters, the mainstream media is trying to troll us as “conspiracy theorists.” A quick scroll through the collection of headlines below will show you just how widespread is the media’s conspiracy to smear the rest of us as conspiracy theorists.
If the Biden DOJ wants to clear the air, dispel the conspiracy theories, and seek the truth about the events of January 6, it sure has a funny way of doing so.
As Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky ask for more, it’s worth an accounting.
Nate Jackson
The United Nations General Assembly convened in New York City this week, and both American President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky gave impassioned speeches pleading for more aid for Ukraine in its grinding war against the invading Russians.
The U.S. has already allocated $113 billion for Ukraine, with the Biden administration requesting another $24 billion during the current spending fight on Capitol Hill. More on that in a minute.
After appearing via video last year, Zelensky spoke in person this year, giving a blistering denunciation of one of the UN’s permanent Security Council members. He labeled Russia’s invasion as “clearly a genocide,” though he warned that Russian aggression poses a threat to the world.
Believe it or not, Biden said a few things that were right. (Correction in the White House transcript):
Russia alone bears responsibility for this war. Russia alone has the power to end this war immediately. And it is Russia alone that stands in the way of peace because the — Russia’s price for peace is Ukraine’s capitulation, Ukraine’s territory, and Ukraine’s children.
Russia believes that the world will grow weary and allow it to brutalize Ukraine without consequence.
But I ask you this: If we abandon the core principles of the United States [U.N. Charter] to appease an aggressor, can any member state in this body feel confident that they are protected? If we allow Ukraine to be carved up, is the independence of any nation secure?
I’d respectfully suggest the answer is no.
We have to stand up to this naked aggression today and deter other would-be aggressors tomorrow.
But here’s the ugly truth: Biden’s weakness was provocative. To be sure, that’s not news; our Douglas Andrews titled an analysis with that assessment back in May 2022, and we’d said so even earlier. If Joe Biden had not assumed the presidency in January 2021, Russian strongman Vladimir Putin would not have invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
That question has roiled the American political arena for a year and a half. We won’t go into all the twists and turns in that debate here, other than to say Republicans have uncharacteristically soured on such aid in large measure because it smells like swamp establishment and no one trusts Biden to manage it well. To put it mildly, his family’s ties to a thoroughly corrupt Ukraine are hugely problematic and come with national security consequences.
Instead, we want to focus on the dollars being spent.
The total allocation from Congress is, again, $113 billion. The White House says $101.2 billion has been spent, and there’s an outline to spend another $9.8 billion. The $24 billion Biden is now requesting would add to that total, and it’s split roughly in half between military and humanitarian assistance.
“Since January 2021,” reports the State Department, “the United States has invested more than $44.4 billion in security assistance” for Ukraine. The Congressional Research Service roughly agrees. State lists dozens of specific military weapons and munitions sent from the U.S. to Ukraine — including bullets, bombs, missiles, batteries, and tanks. Fighter jets are reportedly on the way in the near future.
Has that worked? Well, many analysts thought Ukraine would fall within days or weeks of Russia’s initial invasion. Here we are more than 600 days later and Ukraine is still fighting.
That doesn’t mean accountability should go by the wayside. “Where’s the accountability on the money we’ve already spent?” asked House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. “What is the plan for victory? I think that’s what the American public wants to know.” It’s also what he says he plans to ask Zelensky on Thursday, when the latter heads to Washington to meet with lawmakers.
Part of the answer is right here at home, and National Review’s Jim Geraghty, who spent several days reporting on the ground in Ukraine last month, gives it. “The U.S. government established its Ukraine Oversight Interagency Working Group in June 2022, four months after the war started,” he writes. “As of the end of March 2023, the federal government has more than 160 personnel from 20 U.S. oversight organizations tracking and auditing the weapons, ammunition, equipment, and money sent to Ukraine, personnel who are primarily pulled from the Offices of Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Agency for International Development. As of March, investigations ‘have not yet substantiated significant waste, fraud, or abuse,’ although it’s proven difficult to monitor weapons at the final stages, near the front lines.”
So the government says the government is spending the money well. Our elected representatives would do well to remember the old “trust but verify” maxim. Republicans in Congress and GOP voters more broadly are certainly skeptical of spending more.
What about Europe? A frequent complaint has been that the U.S. will, once again, be left holding the bag for Europe’s mess. Geraghty points to updated numbers on Europe’s part in the fight: “When you add up all the military, humanitarian, and financial aid sent to Ukraine, Europe collectively is sending $2.22 for every dollar the United States has sent.” Europe’s totals grew considerably over this past summer, when he says, “New aid packages and expansions of assistance programs were announced by the United Kingdom, the European Union, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Portugal, and Lithuania.”
Herding cats in the House: The tentative deal House Speaker Kevin McCarthy brokered over the weekend between Republican factions in order to get a stopgap spending bill passed collapsed on Tuesday. Members of the Freedom Caucus hammered their moderate Republican colleagues for being more willing to work with Democrats to avoid a government shutdown than to work with them. Florida Representative Byron Donalds explained, “A lot of my colleagues, Freedom Caucus members, etc., need to be very concerned about the fact that we do have some Republican members who are willing to sign on to a clean [continuing resolution] with the Democrats, and basically eliminates out leverage to do anything.” Democrats, who have almost always had the political advantage when it comes to government shutdown events, are eyeing another victory if McCarthy can’t get Republicans to come together and pass a resolution that puts the pressure onto the Democrat-controlled Senate to respond. By the way, the U.S. national debt surpassed $33 trillion Monday.
Tuberville’s test: Alabama Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville has stuck to his guns over his objection to the Biden administration’s decision to use taxpayer dollars to ensure military members access to abortion. For months, Tuberville has refused to give his vote to grant unanimous approval of all officer nominations, resulting in a backlog of several hundred officer promotions that Democrats and the Biden administration claim threatens military readiness. Tuberville has repeatedly pointed out that the Biden administration could rescind its abortion policy or Senate Leader Chuck Schumer could schedule votes for each individual officer confirmation. With the administration and Democrats unwilling to consider either of those two options, Tuberville is seeking to force a confirmation vote for Marine Corps commandant nominee General Eric Smith, who was nominated by Joe Biden back in May and has been serving as the acting commandant after General David Berger stepped down in July. Tuberville is proving that he is more concerned with military readiness than are the Democrats.
Ninth Circuit upholds religious liberty: In a somewhat surprising ruling given its history, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the San Jose Unified School District in California violated the First Amendment freedom of religion rights of students in 2019 when it banned the club Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) from schools. In a 9-2 vote, the Court found any club or group unavoidably “discriminates” by simply have policies. San Jose’s school district enacted its ban against the FCA because the FCA requires its officers to sign a statement of faith in which they pledge to uphold to biblical tenants on sexuality.
Not a kids book: Louisiana Republican Senator John Kennedy caused quite a stir when he read excerpts from several sexually explicit books found in school libraries across the country that parents have been objecting to. A video clip of Kennedy reading from one of the books in question — Gender Queer, written by “transgender” activist Maia Kobabe — went viral due to its explicitness. Kobabe is a woman who identifies as “nonbinary” and who uses the nonexistent pronouns “e/em/eir.” She was asked about whether she believed her book was appropriate for children, and the answer says it all: “I don’t recommend this book for kids.”
Fauci cashed in on the pandemic: When Dr. Anthony Fauci retired from heading the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases last year, an open records request revealed that he and his wife’s combined net worth was greater than $11 million. Unlike the majority of Americans, who were suffering financially due to job losses from draconian shutdowns over the course of the COVID pandemic, Fauci was seeing a windfall. At the time of his lucrative retirement, Fauci was the highest paid federal employee, pulling in a salary of $480,654. “During the pandemic years,” said OpenTheBooks CEO Adam Andrzejewski, “the Faucis became deca-millionaires, with their household net worth exceeding $10 million. Last year was a tough year in the markets. However, Fauci’s net worth is still up sharply from $7.6 million in 2019.” Last year, Fauci admitted that he knew there would be “collateral negative consequences” to the economy from the draconian measures he had insisted upon implementing, though he argued “you have to make a balance when you’re dealing with — we know the only way to stop something cold in its track is to try and shut things down.” Well, that’s especially easy to say when you’re not the one having to suffer the consequences of your own policies.

Woke antiracism activist and author Ibram X. Kendi’s Center for Antiracist Research is laying off employees despite pulling in millions of dollars in donations.

Grievance grifting has long been plied by individuals who resemble confidence men in every way except for the fact that the yarns and outright lies they weave are accepted as legal. In the American context, the most successful type of grievance grift is that which thrives upon the nation’s great moral stain — our history of slavery.
After slavery had ended and the rights of American Liberty had been legally extended to those former slaves, Booker T. Washington famously observed that among poor blacks there were some who realized that they could enrich themselves by preying on the emotions of others over sins of the past.
In his book My Larger Education, Washington wrote: “There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”
Ever since Washington made this observation, the class of race huckster has endured. First it was W.E.B. Du Bois in Washington’s own day, and then Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Today’s new generation of hucksters includes Ibram X. Kendi. Collectively, what all these folks knew was that there’s fame and fortune to be gained in the racism grift.
Kendi is a 41-year-old New York City native and university professor who rose to prominence following the success of his book, How to Be an Antiracist, published in 2019 during his time at American University in Washington, DC. He then rose further in the summer of 2020 following the death of George Floyd.
Moving to Boston University, Kendi entered into a partnership creating the Center for Antiracist Research. Riding the outpouring of “antiracism” virtue signaling, Kendi’s center received millions of dollars in donations. Of note, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey gave $10 million, while another $1.5 million came in from the Rockefeller Foundation and $1.5 million from biotech company Vertex.
Not only was Kendi riding high off his book sales, a book in which he promoted critical race theory as if it were the Gospel, but he was also raking in millions from white leftists seeking any way to purge themselves of white guilt.
According to Kendi, the only way to end racism was with more racism, or what many have noted is simply a repackaging of reverse racism. In Kendi’s view, the victimizer or oppressor must now become the victim or the oppressed. Only then will “justice” come.
Well, just three years later, Kendi’s center is collapsing. Recent news reports note that the center has laid off between 15 and 30 of its 45 employees. And some of those former employees are now speaking out.
Spencer Piston, who was the faculty lead at the center’s policy office, stated regarding the collapse: “There are a number of ways it got to this point. It started very early on when the university decided to create a center that rested in the hands of one human being, an individual given millions of dollars and so much authority.” Another former employee, who is an associate professor in Boston University’s African American & Black Diaspora Studies, was even more critical, claiming that from its start the center lacked structure and overworked people. “It became very clear after I started that this was exploitative and other faculty experienced the same and worse.”
Christopher Rufo, who has done yeoman’s work to confront and dismantle the influence of the inherently racist CRT in America’s halls of higher education, found the news unsurprising. “Ibram Kendi’s ‘antiracism’ center is collapsing,” Rufo he noted. “He hired a bunch of left-wing academics that produced almost no research, but complained that he was ‘exploitative’ and forced them to work too hard. Now he’s laid off nearly half of the employees and they’re trashing him publicly.”
About that “research,” The Washington Free Beacon reports, “The group’s plans to ‘maintain the nation’s largest online database of racial inequity data in the United States’ quickly fizzled out, and the database has been dormant since 2021.” Only two research papers, co-authored with outside academics, and two other “policy reports” have come from the center.
Meanwhile, as the center collapses and transitions into a “fellowship model,” Kendi himself will remain employed at the university, guaranteeing that his racial grifting will continue unabated. All grifting does is create narratives to further grievances, because that’s where the money is. And grifters don’t ever offer any real solutions because doing so would put them out business.
Whatever happened to the norms of behavior that once guided interaction between our two political parties?
Jack DeVine
The tone and temperament of American political dialogue has declined markedly in recent years. While it’s never been easy to bridge our differences, what was once disagreement with the other side has somehow turned to anger and often to contempt. It’s ugly.
Moreover, that distinct downturn seems to have accompanied Donald Trump’s accession to power after his upset victory in the 2016 presidential election. Joe Biden’s 2020 win is attributed by many to the American voters’ thirst for a return to normalcy after the Trump chaos.
But here’s a contrarian view: The norm-busting we all observed in the Trump years had less to do with Donald Trump’s abrasive, aggressive demeanor than to the Democrats’ reaction to it — and notably to their campaign of systematic “resistance” to the unwelcome upstart and his regime.
The resistance was a consciously chosen political tactic, a concerted effort to derail or disrupt every Trump action, leading hopefully to utter failure of his administration. Even the name was chosen purposefully, conveying an air of noble intent — like the WWII French and Belgian resistance to the occupying Nazis, this one was envisioned as saving America from the evil Mr. Trump.
Of course, the inescapable problem with hyper-partisan obstruction — then or now — is that when an administration fails, the country fails with it. The Democrat Resistance to Trump was intense, relentless, very nearly successful, and did lasting harm. Think back:
First there was the myth of Russia collusion. It was the perfect segue, already in motion pre-election courtesy of Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and a convenient excuse for Clinton’s embarrassing loss. For two and a half years, Russia collusion was all the rage, dominating the evening news and consuming enormous resources — until it all went up in smoke.
Impeachment was on the table from the moment of Trump’s inauguration, with Democrats openly casting about for any conceivable excuse. Running out of time, they settled on Impeachment #1, alleging that the president implied a quid pro quo in return for a political favor in telephone conversation with the Ukrainian president. Yes, impeachment of a U.S. president for an ill-advised phone call.
And, after January 6th (helped by Trump’s reckless post-election behavior) there was Impeachment #2 — a wholly meaningless action given that Trump had already left office when tried by the U.S. Senate.
For any who doubt how profoundly and how fast our political norms have deteriorated, consider that the Democrats’ spent the better part of Trump’s term in an all-out mission, using methods proper and not, to prove that the 2016 election was stolen with Russian help — call it “election denial.” One administration later, election denial and attendant action to challenge election results have been deemed an impeachable and indictable offense.
Against that background, it is rich today to listen to Democrats’ sputtering indignation regarding the GOP announced plans to initiate a congressional impeachment inquiry into Biden’s behavior, without “a shred of evidence.”
In this case, there are in fact quite a few evidence “shreds” — some more like steel cables — including whistleblower testimony, direct contradiction of the president’s assertions by persons involved, numerous emails, bank records, and large financial transfers via shell companies (the classic indicator of money laundering) to Biden family members who would have had no part in legitimate business activity. These quite possibly add up to bribery on Biden’s part — an impeachable offense, per the U.S. Constitution — and at the very least a Mount Everest-sized conflict of interest.
Again, declining norms are in play. In better times, the impeachment inquiry into Biden’s behavior would be treated by both sides as a legitimate one and would elicit somber concern from Democrats and Republicans. Fifty years ago, on a less serious matter, Republicans joined Democrats in challenging President Richard Nixon’s behavior; just a year before, Nixon had won reelection in a landslide — but the bipartisan furor was enough to convince him to step down from office, avoiding impeachment and conviction.
Nor does today’s norm-challenged government seem up to the task of delivering even-handed justice. Indications of Biden’s serious improprieties are nothing new. He personally bragged about shutting down an investigation into his son’s Burisma colleagues by threatening to withhold U.S. financial aid (ironically, an explicit quid pro quo). That episode, the infamous Hunter laptop, and other sources of pertinent information have all been swept under the table, unlikely to see the light of day without a serious impeachment inquiry.
There is no way to define “normal” in partisan interactions, but we’ve gone far beyond the point of presenting to the public an open market of ideas. Returning the U.S. presidency to a candidate fully committed to restoring mutual respect — in my view, neither Trump nor Biden — would be a good first step.
In an open letter to the Democratic National Committee, longshot presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said that his party had lost its way.
Douglas Andrews
Ronald Reagan was once a Democrat, but he never let it get him down.
Indeed, back in 1980, just days before he was elected our nation’s 40th president, the Gipper was at a working class bar in Bayonne, New Jersey, when he shared his conversion story: “I know what it’s like to pull the Republican lever for the first time because I used to be a Democrat myself,” he said. “And I can tell you it only hurts for a minute, and then it feels just great.”
Of course, it had been years since Reagan was a Democrat — since 1962, in fact. And as he trenchantly put it, “I didn’t leave the Democratic party. The Democratic Party left me.”
These days, we can imagine Robert F. Kennedy Jr. feeling much the same way Reagan did — like a man without a party. And we can imagine it was with a heavy heart last week that he penned an open letter to the Democratic National Committee.
“Families tell one another the truth,” Kennedy began, “as best we are able with grace and love and, above all, with candor. When we take wrong turns, or fail to live up to our best selves, it is our family’s responsibility to hold up a mirror and recall us back to our true purpose and highest self-expression. And so I feel compelled to write to you now, because in my view, limited though it may be, the Democratic Party has gone off track.”
The Dems have gone off track? Say it ain’t so.
Kennedy then got to the point of his piece: freedom — and how the Democrat Party that once fought for this principle has since forsaken it. The party that once fought for civil rights and free speech has since “succumbed to the siren of control,” as he puts it. Kennedy seems to have forgotten some of the less noble things that the Democrat Party has historically fought for — things like slavery and segregation and Jim Crow and poll taxes and literacy tests — but these things would greatly complicate his argument. He continues, calling out the party’s leaders: “They have compromised the defining democratic principle of one person, one vote through repeated interference in the primary elections. They have hijacked the party machinery and, in recent years, directed the power of censorship onto their political opponents, raising political victory onto the altar in place of honest democracy.”
So much for the “progressive” party. But that’s the thing about progressivism: The job is never done, the state never satisfactory, the mission never accomplished for the party that believes as Rousseau did that man is born free and yet is everywhere in chains.
Here, we should also acknowledge that while we love a good family feud, and while we believe that RFK Jr. is a breath of fresh air, and while we hope he makes an independent run for president in order to pull votes away from Joe Biden or whichever Democrat runs in his place, we can’t ignore some of the candidate’s more, er, eccentric policy positions.
“Some conservatives,” writes Power Line’s John Hinderaker, “have an unreasonably positive view of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., based on the fact that he sounds sensible on two or three issues. But in fact, he is nuts, as manifested most grotesquely in his conviction that Sirhan Sirhan did not murder his father. Beyond that, he is, on the large majority of issues, an unreconstructed far left-winger.”
For example, he wants to ban fracking, he believes vaccines can cause autism, he believes 5G is used to collect our information and control our behavior, and he thinks the CIA killed his uncle but Sirhan Sirhan didn’t kill has dad.
In any case, as for his status as a Democrat candidate for president in a cycle featuring a greatly debilitated Democrat incumbent, RFK Jr. writes:
Equally disheartening is the DNC’s refusal to hold debates. The matter of precedent is spurious, as there has been no serious primary challenge to an incumbent in more than 40 years. (Although Al Gore, a sitting vice-president, did debate challengers in 2000.) Voters deserve — and democracy requires — a competitive process by which to determine nominees. It should be a party’s voters who choose a candidate, not party insiders who anoint one.
The DNC and the Joe Biden campaign have essentially merged into one unit, financially and strategically, despite the promise of neutrality in its charter and bylaws. The DNC is not supposed to favor one candidate over another. It is supposed to oversee a fair, democratic selection process, and then support the candidate that its voters choose.
Kennedy closes his open letter with a call to his fellow Democrats to conduct “the most transparent, equal, accessible, and accountable election that has ever been seen in this country.” He then offers some parting words from none other than the Indispensable Man: “Parties,” warned George Washington, “become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.”
It’s hard to argue with Washington’s wisdom.
Postscript: In his column yesterday, National Review’s Jim Geraghty made an interesting appeal to Joe Biden: Provide RFK Jr. with Secret Service protection. Now. While it’s true that such protection is usually only afforded to “major presidential and vice-presidential candidates and, within 120 days of the general presidential election, the spouses of such candidates,” this particular candidate warrants special consideration. He is, after all, a Kennedy. And our country is, after all, more than just a bit nuts.

Fox News is shaking up its weekend lineup and has added a second Mark Levin show as part of the changes.
In addition to its longtime Sunday 8 p.m. time slot, “Life, Liberty & Levin” now airs on Saturdays at 8 p.m. as well, Meade Cooper, Fox’s executive vice president of primetime programming, said in a news release. The change began last weekend.
“Since joining the network in 2017, Mark has provided our audience with thought-provoking analysis on America’s core values and their impact on current events,” Cooper said.
Cooper said more weekend changes will be announced later.
“It’s an honor to join the other outstanding hosts on Saturday in bringing the most intelligent, informative and entertaining programming to the nation. Thank you to our loyal audience and Fox News,” Levin said.
In announcing the move, the Washington Examiner called the addition of a second Levin show a “ratings bonanza.”
Fox’s release said the Sunday night show is the highest-rated Sunday evening prime-time cable news show, averaging 1.4 million viewers.
Levin also hosts “The Mark Levin Show,” a syndicated radio program that airs on more than 300 stations.
“This book is not intended to be provocative, but in the Democrat Party-centric party of our society, it undoubtedly will be,” Levin wrote in the book, according to The Washington Times.
“That said, it is not written for Democrat Party officials, politicians, media, sycophants, activists and surrogates. … It’s written for those patriotic Americans who fear for our country and its future.
“America is unraveling. Our founding and history are under assault. Our families and faiths are being degraded. Individualism has been substituted for groups. Color blindness is now racist, capitalism and prosperity are being devoured by economic socialism and climate-change fanaticism.”
“Our republic is only 247 years old. If the Democrat Party succeeds, the American experiment will have failed,” he wrote as he concluded the book.
In an interview, Levin called the Democratic Party “the 800-pound gorilla that is responsible for virtually every single cultural, political, societal confrontation that we have. … Why? Because the Democrat Party is built on hate,” according to the Washington Examiner.
“This book is probably the most extensive exposure of the Democrat Party, certainly in modern history. It is a brutal takedown of the Democratic Party,” Levin said.
“I thought it was time to bring it to the steps of the Democratic Party that we have been suffering as a result of this party from pro-slavery to now pro-Marxism, and we will continue to suffer as they destroy individualism, colorblindness, our economic system, our borders, law enforcement,” he said.
Levin said America’s core values are on the verge of being swept away
“We are far down the path, and maybe too far down, from our core principles and what has made our lives here in America so blessed. That’s what this is all about.
“Do we love our freedom? Do we love our lifestyle? Do we love our faith? Do we love being parents? Do we love being safe in the streets? This is all at stake because the Democrat Party is destroying it all,” he said.
The World Health Organization is already working on a Global Digital Health Certification Network – an interlinked, global technological system that would be used to recognize the validity of health certificates and vaccine passports. Experts told The Defender the system is designed to restrict people’s freedom to travel.
The Bible is clear on what lies ahead: more people and nations will be gathering in defiance to God and His Word. And for centuries every generation has wondered if theirs would be the one to see the return of the Lord. World events are coming together at breakneck speed. So what is different about the times we live in? Are there unmistakable signs of the times that the world is about to unite in rebellion against God, ultimately leading to the return of Jesus Christ? Jesus said we would not know the exact day of His return, but that we could discern the season of it by observing carefully. Joining us this morning is a man who has studied globalism and has written extensively about the coming one world government and religion–Gary Kah.

After indicting the leading presidential candidate in America on bogus, manufactured, partisan charges Merrick Garland had the nerve on Wednesday to compare his ancestors fleeing Eastern Europe during the Holocaust to his lawless targeting, indicting and imprisoning of conservative Americans.
Here is an example of lawless Merrick Garland’s record of tyranny:
** Hired a political hitman to take out Donald Trump. ** Launched a Special Counsel to investigate President Trump’s handling of classified documents while he was working with the DOJ at the time. ** Ignored Joe Biden and Mike Pence’s likely criminal action of holding classified documents at the same time. ** Oversaw the mass abuse and harassment of thousands of conservative families who had their homes raided and children terrorized for attending the Jan. 6 rally in Washington DC. ** Lied about government involvement on Jan. 6. ** Refused to investigate Nancy Pelosi’s actions that caused the lapse in security that day. ** Indicted and sentences Pro-Life seniors for blocking entrance to an abortion clinic – a tactic regularly used by Democrat protesters. ** Targeted Catholics at their parishes. ** Targeted moms and dads at school board meetings. ** Jailed dozens of Trump supporters for years without trial. ** Infiltrated Proud Boys and Oath Keepers to make up criminal intent by the group leaders.
Garland is the most corrupt Attorney General in US history ripping apart our God-given constitutional rights one day at a time.
On Tuesday Merrick Garland choked up while talking about his ancestors as he destroys American democracy.
Merrick Garland: All of us recognize that with this work comes public scrutiny, criticism, and legitimate oversight. These are appropriate and important given the matters and the gravity of the matters that are before the Department. But singling out individual career public servants who are just doing their jobs is dangerous, particularly at a time of increased threats to the safety of public servants and their families. We will not be intimidated.
We will do our jobs free from outside influence, and we will not back down from defending our democracy. Third, I want to explain why we approach our job in this way. The Justice Department was founded in the wake of the Civil War and in the midst of Reconstruction, with the first principal task of bringing to justice white supremacists and others who terrorize black Americans to prevent them from exercising their civil rights. The Justice Department’s job, then and now, is to fulfill the promise that it is at the foundation of our democracy that the law will treat each of us alike. That promise is also why I am here.
My family fled religious persecution in Eastern Europe at the start of the 20th century. My grandmother, who is one of five children born in what is now Belarus, made it to the United States, as did two of her siblings. The other two did not. Those two were killed in the Holocaust, and there is little doubt that. But for America, the same thing would have happened to my grandmother.
PALM BEACH, FL — In an interview with Meet the Press, former President Donald J. Trump told moderator Kristen Welker that there are “very fine people on both sides” of the baby murder issue.
“Yes, I think there are fine people on both sides. If you look at both sides, the baby killers and the not baby killers–very fine people,” Trump said. “And I’ve been on both sides, believe me.”
Welker first broached the subject by asking Trump to clarify earlier comments that he thought DeSantis’ heartbeat law was “a terrible thing” and that he “would do literally anything for votes, up to and including baby murder.”
“Mr. President, you were voted into office by a pro-life coalition and helped overturn Roe v. Wade, yet condemn heartbeat laws due to being unpopular – can you clarify your position?” asked Ms. Welker.
“Look if you want, I’ll murder a baby right now, just like I murdered Roe v. Wade. But you won’t let me because you’re fake news,” Trump said defiantly, owning the libs. “We could have peace on this issue for the first time in 52 years, but you have DeSanctimonious passing these terrible laws that you can’t kill babies if they have a heartbeat. He’s upset a lot of very fine baby killers, that Meatball Ron.”
At publishing time, Trump had clarified that his only position was that baby supporters and baby killers should both be happy with his position.

There is no hope of stifling the success of a multipolar world, Jackson Hinkle said
History will not look fondly upon the “Nazis and the liberals” who are pushing progressive ideology, such as transgenderism, onto children, political analyst Jackson Hinkle told RT in an interview on Tuesday.
The host of ‘The Dive with Jackson Hinkle’ stressed that the US and Western Europe are beginning to lose their global influence in an “ever-changing multipolar world” and are becoming a “hollow skeleton of power” and a “crumbling empire.”
“Empires are most dangerous when they’re rising or falling, and right now that’s definitely the case for the United States and the West,” Hinkle said, noting that apart from a nuclear war, there is little Washington could do to stop the development of countries like China and Russia.
“There is really no hope of stifling the success of the whole world,” he said.
Hinkle also commented on the crisis in Ukraine, including the recent reports about a missile attack on a outdoor market in the city of Konstantinovka. The analyst stated that the fact that Western media articles have, contrary to their usual reporting, decided to put the blame for the incident on Kiev, could indicate that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s time in office could be limited as critical voices begin to break through.
“Any US asset abroad eventually meets its demise,” Hinkle said, noting the examples of Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden. “Zelensky, may, or may not, be close to meeting that cruel end,” he continued, pointing to the incredible amount of Ukrainian lives that have been lost in the “suicide mission” that is Kiev’s attempts to battle Russia’s forces. Hinkle stated that there should already be thousands of people flooding the streets of Ukraine protesting against the Kiev government, but, due to fear of being “imprisoned, or worse” these protests aren’t happening.
As for his prognosis about the end of the conflict, Hinkle stated that he hopes Russia eventually succeeds in “liberating Ukraine from the Nazis.” He added that he believes Poland is likely to move into western Ukraine with the consent of Washington, which, along with London, wants to turn Europe into a new power.
“They want Poland to rise, by joining with Ukraine. They want to build up the Nordic states on the border with Russia. And they want to hurt Germany, Italy and France,” Hinkle said, noting that the US is already pushing policies to stifle growth on those three countries, and blew up the Nord Stream pipeline, causing European economies to crash.
“Ray Epps is believed by some, including many who have seen videos of him before and during the riot, to be a federal agent of some kind planted in the crowd on J6. Indeed, he appeared to be more than that. He was a person who looked like an agent provocateur that day.”
(Victoria Taft – PJ Media) “60 Minutes,” The New York Times, Adam Kinzinger, and the FBI’s favorite J6 Capitol protester has gotten a slap on the wrist for what sure looked like helping to incite the January 6 riot at the Capitol Building. Why now?
Ray Epps, the man the news media said was the object of conspiracy theorists of the “hard right,” was charged Tuesday with one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct for his antics at the Capitol Complex on Jan. 6, 2021. It has taken the federal government more than two and a half years to bring the single charge against Ray Epps.
There will be no political gulag in Epps’s future. He will not be moved 13 times, making it difficult for an attorney or family to find him. No, that happened to the “Q Anon Shaman,” as he revealed in my interview on the Adult in the Room Podcast. View article →
Official figures published by the UK Government reveal the fully/triple vaccinated population have accounted for over 9 in every 10 Covid-19 deaths in England over the past year, 91% of all Covid-19 deaths since the beginning of 2022, and 94% of all Covid-19 deaths since the beginning of April 2022.
Table 1 of the latest dataset contains figures on the mortality rates by vaccination status for all-cause deaths, deaths involving Covid-19, and deaths not involving Covid-19. And it is here that we are able to ascertain the vaccination status of everyone who has died of Covid-19 since the beginning of 2022.
We’ve taken the figures provided by the ONS for an entire year, and have produced the following chart showing Covid-19 deaths per month by vaccination status in England between 1st June 2021 and 31st May 2022.
January 2022 saw the most deaths among the vaccinated population and unvaccinated population with 3,914 deaths among the vaccinated and just 693 deaths among the unvaccinated. Whereas June 2021 saw the lowest number of deaths among the vaccinated population with 224 deaths.
Why can’t Biden AG Merrick Garland unequivocally say he has not discussed the Hunter Biden criminal probe with Special Counsel David Weiss — especially in light of whistleblower testimony of political interference?

BREAKING: AG Garland perjures himself while answering Thomas Massies’ question on how many government agents were involved in Jan6 riot. pic.twitter.com/N84UAcmR9G
Rep. Rep Thomas Massie questions Merrick Garland on Ray Epps: “You indicted him on a misdemeanors and meanwhile you’re sending grandmas to prison. You’re putting people away for 20 years for merely filming. Some weren’t even there but you got the guy on video saying go into the Capitol, he’s at the sight of first breach, and it’s an indictment on a misdemeanor.”
During his testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, Merrick Garland couldn’t recall if he had any direct communication with anyone at the FBI HQ regarding the Hunter Biden probe. pic.twitter.com/3XAD06Ehfv
Most laughable line: “”I am not the President’s lawyer.” But he is.

Attorney General Garland just refused to answer if he has had any conversations with U.S. Attorney David Weiss. He is claiming that even confirming such conversations would abridge confidential communications.
…There is no question that he can answer whether such conversations occurred. When Bill Barr testified as Attorney General he confirmed subjects even in communications with the President while declining details on conversations. https://t.co/kfkX7id5j5
…Garland said that “no one had the authority to turn him down” in other U.S. Attorneys refusing to bring tax cases against Hunter Biden. He said that they could however refuse to “partner with him.” The suggestion was that Weiss could still have brought the cases in those…
…Notably, Garland said that Weiss will answer these questions and that Weiss “will no doubt address in it the public report to be conveyed to Congress.” That report would ordinarily come at the end of the investigation. That would likely be after the election …
…It would likely extend beyond the impeachment inquiry. The House was preparing these questions for Weiss’ promised appearance before Garland made Weiss a Special Counsel. The answer would suggest that full answers would come with the final Special Counsel support.
…Garland just said again that Weiss had the authority to go ahead and file in California and D.C. in the Hunter Biden tax matters. So the question is why (after Weiss’ prosecutors and agents supported the charges) did Weiss not do so?
Former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern spoke before the US General Assembly on Tuesday for some reason.
Jacinda, known for cracking down on every single individual right during COVID except the right to attend an orgy, spoke about cracking down on free speech.
What did we do to deserve this?
This is the new objective of the globalist elites. They want to control speech so they can lie more freely without being caught.
Sick, sick people.
Jacinda Ardern: We launched an initiative alongside companies and nonprofits to help improve research and understanding of how a person’s online experiences are curated by automated processes. This will also be important in understanding more about myths and disinformation online, a challenge that we must, as leaders, address. Sadly, I think it’s easy to dismiss this problem as one in the margins. I can certainly understand the desire to leave it to someone else.
As leaders, we’re rightly concerned that even the most light touch approaches to disinformation could be misinterpreted as being hostile to the values of free speech that we value so highly. But while I cannot tell you today what the answer is to this challenge, I can say with complete certainty that we cannot ignore it. To do so poses an equal threat to the norms we all value. After all, how do you successfully end a war if people are led to believe the reason for its existence is not only legal, but noble? How do you tackle climate change if people do not believe it exists?
How do you ensure the human rights of others are upheld when they are subjected to hateful and dangerous rhetoric and ideology? The weapons may be different, but the goals of those who perpetuate them is often the same to cause chaos and reduce the ability of others to defend themselves, to disband communities, to collapse the collective strength of countries who work together. But we have an opportunity here to ensure that these particular weapons of war do not become an established part of warfare. In these times, I’m acutely aware of how easy it is to feel disheartened. We are facing many battles on many fronts.
But there is cause for optimism. Because for every new weapon we face, there is a new tool to overcome it. It for every attempt to push the world into chaos is a collective conviction to bring us back to order. We have the means. We just need the collective will.
Thanks for dumping this crackpot on our shores, New Zealand.
