• Who Were the Authors of the Scriptures?
• What Is the Structure of the Bible?
• How Does the Old Testament Relate to the New Testament?
• What Happened Between the Old and New Testaments?
• Why Are There Chapters and Verses in the Bible?
• Why Does the Old Testament Speak of Israel and the New Testament Speak About the Church?
The Bible was written over a span of 1,500 years by more than forty authors from all walks of life—from kings to farmers, historians to fishermen, and prophets to apostles. It was written in three languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek) in four different geopolitical regions: the Middle East, Mesopotamia, Asia Minor, and southern Europe. Some books were written and edited (like Moses’ books and certain historical books), some were dictated to a scribe (Paul’s epistles), and some were the result of scholarly research (Luke and Acts). Every word of Scripture is breathed out by God, yet every word was written by a human being who was inspired by the Holy Spirit. That makes the Bible totally divine and totally human.
Studying the Old Testament helps us understand the New Testament; the two portions of the Bible are bound together by one recurring theme: redemption. This thread of redemption through the promised Messiah runs through the Old Testament and the New Testament. Redemption, the idea of setting free or being released from bondage, is both the prevalent theme of God’s Word and the reason why the Living Word, Jesus Christ, came to earth. When Adam and Eve sinned, God’s plan to set humanity free from the power of sin through the perfect obedience of His Son was set in motion. In Genesis 3:15 we find the first revelation of this Good News, “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” Throughout the Old Testament we find glimpses of this plan, and in the New Testament we see the redemptive work of Christ’s death and resurrection in action—the greatest story ever told—the Son of God becoming a Man so that He might redeem us from our sin.
Many significant things happened during the four hundred years between the writing of the last book in the Old Testament (Malachi) and the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, in Matthew. This period of time is called the Intertestamental Period or the silent years. During the Babylonian exile, the Jews adopted the popular use of Aramaic, a language similar to Hebrew. Also, Alexander the Great’s defeat of the Persians occurred during this time. He liberated Greek cities from Persian rule, but now they lived under Greek rule. Greek language and customs spread throughout the region. Soon the New Testament itself would be written in Koine Greek.
During this time the Roman Empire began expanding, eventually claiming Judea and Jerusalem. Most often Roman governors ruled the country for Rome—in the Gospels we meet one of them: Pontius Pilate, the Roman ruler who ordered the crucifixion of Jesus.
During this time of occupation, the Jews longed even more for their Messiah to come and rescue them. He did not come as they expected, but when He came, His arrival changed world history forever.
Charles H. Spurgeon
When the Bible was originally written, the authors did not add chapters and verses to their writings. However, as time passed, translators began to divide Scripture for the sake of convenience. Initially the books were divided into paragraphs and then into chapters and verses.
Having chapters and verses helps us find a specific Scripture and aids us in studying and memorizing God’s Word. However, when we are studying God’s Word, it’s important to read the entire context of a section of Scripture, not just a specific verse. By doing this we are able to understand more of what the original author was saying, and we are less likely to take a Bible verse out of context or misunderstand its meaning. We should remember that the chapter and verse divisions were added by man and not inspired by God.
Israel is God’s chosen people, and her story begins in the Old Testament. Throughout this portion of Scripture, we learn about her history—her failings and her successes. Beginning in Genesis 12, we have the first reference to God’s plan of redemption after Adam and Eve sinned, a plan He brings about through Abraham and his descendants. In the New Testament the promised Messiah, Jesus, is born. Because of His perfect life, His death, and His resurrection, all people can be saved. The beginning of the New Testament talks specifically about Jesus’ life here on earth. The rest of the New Testament is focused on the Church and the Christian life. While Israel is still God’s chosen people and God still has a plan for her, we are currently in what we call the Church Age.

If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. (John 14:14)
What a wide promise! Anything! Whether large or small, all my needs are covered by that word anything. Come, my soul, be free at the mercy seat, and hear thy Lord saying to thee, “Open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.”
What a wise promise! We are always to ask in the name of Jesus. While this encourages us, it also honors Him. This is a constant plea. Occasionally every other plea is darkened, especially such as we could draw from our own relation to God or our experience of His grace; but at such times the name of Jesus is as mighty at the throne as ever, and we may plead it with full assurance.
What an instructive prayer! I may not ask for anything to which I cannot put Christ’s hand and seal. I dare not use my Lord’s name to a selfish or willful petition. I may only use my Lord’s name to prayers which He would Himself pray if He were in my case. It is a high privilege to be authorized to ask in the name of Jesus as if Jesus Himself asked; but our love to Him will never allow us to set that name where He would not have set it.
Am I asking for that which Jesus approves? Dare I put His seal to my prayer? Then I have that which I seek of the Father.

In first Samuel chapter one we are introduced to Hannah, a woman unable to bear children. While she is at her yearly visit to the temple she makes a vow to Jehovah Sabaoth that if He will give her a child, she will give him back to God for all of his days. (1 Samuel 1:11)
It’s interesting that she doesn’t use the name Jehovah Jireh (The LORD provides) or Jehovah Rapha (The LORD heals). Instead she chooses to use a name that proclaims the might and power of God: Jehovah Sabaoth, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.
Hannah called on the Lord of Heaven’s Armies in her time of great need because she understood through His might and power, nothing was impossible with God. By calling on Jehovah Sabaoth she was reminding God of His superiority over all things and declaring her faith in His almighty power to open her womb.
Do we really believe in the Lord of Heaven’s Armies like Hannah did? Do we believe He is the God of the Impossible? The supreme ruler over EVERYTHING?
This past year a group of ladies from our church decided to take God at His Word and pray the impossible. At the end of the eighth month period we had twenty-eight “impossible” prayers answered!
What insurmountable burden are you carrying? Will you choose to believe like Hannah and pray the impossible?
Oh LORD of Heaven’s Armies, teach me to trust; not just say that I believe but readily and wholeheartedly take You at Your Word and pray the impossible. Give me eyes to see how you will answer. Amen.
Begin today to pray for the “impossible” request in your life that you have doubted would ever get answered. Pray daily and look expectantly. Don’t limit God. You just might be amazed at how He answers your prayer.

It is said that Missionary John Paton’s mission house was once surrounded and on the verge of being attacked by hostile natives. As darkness fell and the threat became more serious, Paton and all in the compound, used the only weapon they had; prayer. As they prayed, the attack did not materialize and the threat ended. Much later, as one of the tribal chiefs turned to Jesus, it was discovered that on the eventful night, the attackers had seen a vast army (God’s army) surrounding the mission house with a protective cordon. They realized it would be futile to attack as the compound was securely and strongly protected.
Living in an increasingly insecure world has its real challenges. Dangers, terrorism, new strains of viruses, economic struggles and broken/displaced families surround us on all sides. In the midst of these tensions that can crush our peace and increase our levels of anxiety, it’s comforting to know that we can look to our God, the living God, to surround us with His protection.
The composer of Psalm 125 gives us a vivid picture of what God’s protection looks like. He says,
“As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people both now and forevermore” (vs2).
We hear a lot today about ‘surround sound‘. This is ‘surround protection’!
In 2 Kings 6:13-17, the Prophet Elisha was in grave danger in a city called Dothan. The King of Aram was desperate to get his hands on Elisha and sent a strong armed force to surround the city by night. When Elisha’s servant awoke the following morning, he was terrified by the sight of the vast army surrounding the city. Elisha however was unperturbed and said,
‘Don’t be afraid, those who are with us are more than those who are with them‘ (vs16).
As the Lord opened the eyes of the servant, the scripture says that
“he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha” (vs17).
God had surrounded His Prophet with His mighty protection!
He is the same God today. Doesn’t the Bible say that
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8)?
The Apostle John further adds,
“Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4KJV).
Doesn’t this include anything satan or the world can throw at us? Let’s therefore trust God to surround us with the protection needed for ourselves and our families.
“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance”. (Psalm 32:7)
Prayer – Lord may your mighty protection surround us every day. Keep us confident in that trust! We pray In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Thought – No evil can surround us when we remain surrounded by God’s protection!

Please Stop Telling Us Everything Is Fine With The Economy; It Is Not
People think the economy is bad because they are paying, at least here in western Pennsylvania, $3.99 a gallon for gas, and in places such as Arizona, where the state now ranks seventh among the nation’s highest-paying markets at $4.69; last week alone it climbed 14 cents a gallon. In Nevada, it jumped a whopping 33 cents a gallon, with California coming in at a 29-cents-a-gallon jump. When gas prices rise, food prices rise.
“We’re In The Middle Of A Revolution” – Victor Davis Hanson Warns Tucker: “The Next 12 Months Will Be The Most Explosive In History”
Historian Victor Davis Hanson sat down with Tucker Carlson to discuss his perspective on the current political climate in the US, asserting that American liberalism is characterized by dishonesty, and warning about what he sees as liberal efforts to introduce a highly intolerant age. “Liberals are now telling us they plan to protect American democracy and that’s the clearest possible sign that they intend to end it.” “I think they’ve come to the conclusion that Trump is an existential threat and by association, half the country is to their vision of what they want to transform us into, and so they feel that whatever means necessary are justified.”

To My Secular Brethren, What Are You Afraid Of?
Last week, the contentious protests Israel has experienced over the better part of the past year took a truly heartrending turn with the angry, hostile disruption of a Yom Kippur prayer service in Dizengoff Square in Tel Aviv. On a day of contrition, humility, self-reflection and forgiveness, a day when our thoughts, prayers and energy are focused upwards and not outwards, we saw Jews literally attack other Jews at prayer.

Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas accused the U.S. of “occupying Palestine,” while denying Israel’s independence at a conference in Ramallah on Tuesday. Abbas said, Israel is not the primary power responsible for the alleged “occupation” of Palestine; rather the United States is to blame. “America is the one occupying Palestine.”
Settler activist lauding latest incident of spitting at Christians as ‘ancient Jewish custom’ draws wide condemnation
On Monday, a video on X (formely Twitter) showed a group of Asian Christian pilgrims carrying a large wooden cross, about to exit the entrance of a church complex near the Lion’s Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City to begin a procession along Via Dolorosa. Just as the pilgrims were about to exit the complex, a group of ultra-orthodox Jews passed along that same street. The video shows multiple men and children demonstratively spitting on the ground in the direction of the Christian group and the church behind them as they walk by.
‘We the People’ begin to speak
The insurgents’ current target is religious Judaism and religious Jews. On Sunday night, a group of leftist male bullies stormed a movie screening for ultra-Orthodox girls and women in Jerusalem to block them from watching a film without males in the room. The leftist insurrection now demands that freedom of access be blocked for people who aren’t like them.
the hard leftists are certain they will be able to prevent the practice of traditional Judaism and ban traditional Jewish lifestyles from public spaces.
Forced out of Eastern Europe, Soros Network May Be Looking to Expand in U.S.
After what appears to be a calculated retreat from Eastern Europe, the George Soros-funded Open Societies Foundation (OSF) has said it will be focusing more on “emerging threats” elsewhere around the world. With Soros-funded prosecutors already wreaking havoc on the American justice system, that could be bad news for the United States. OSF and other Soros-linked groups have in particular worked to destroy any notion of border security throughout Europe, directly exacerbating the migrant crisis now sweeping the continent.

James Webb telescope makes ‘JuMBO’ discovery of planet-like objects in Orion
Jupiter-sized “planets” free-floating in space, unconnected to any star, have been spotted by the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). What’s intriguing about the discovery is that these objects appear to be moving in pairs. Astronomers are currently struggling to explain them. The telescope observed about 40 pairs in a fabulously detailed new survey of the famous Orion Nebula. They’ve been nicknamed Jupiter Mass Binary Objects, or “JuMBOs” for short.

“From The Patriot Post (patriotpost.us)”.
“No government, any more than an individual, will long be respected without being truly respectable; nor be truly respectable, without possessing a certain portion of order and stability.” —James Madison (1788)
| On this day in Patriot history in 1927, carving began on the Mount Rushmore National Memorial, which portrays George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt. In today’s news, a House speaker is ousted for the first time, and our current president could hardly be less worthy of memorializing. —Mark Alexander |
In a historic vote, eight Republicans voted with the entire Democrat caucus to oust the speaker of the House.
Douglas Andrews

It’s probably not a good sign when a nation keeps stacking one “historic” or “unprecedented” first atop another: first president to be indicted, first president to have a child indicted, first president to be elected despite clear evidence that he’s in the throes of dementia, and the list goes on.
And so it was yesterday, when Kevin McCarthy became the first House speaker to be removed from the role in a never-before-seen vote that leaves the lower chamber in a temporary state of chaos. Ninety-six percent of McCarthy’s caucus supported him. Four percent did not. And that was that.
The mutiny was led by Florida Republican Matt Gaetz, and it came, as The Hill reports, “days after McCarthy averted a government shutdown by putting a stopgap measure on the floor that garnered Democratic support — a move that infuriated hardline Republicans.”
Essentially, fiscally responsible Republicans hate the repeated omnibus spending packages that they’re continually forced to vote on, rather than the smaller, more tightly focused individual spending packages that the House has traditionally voted on. McCarthy’s failure to follow through on this promise, which he’d made to secure enough Republican votes for the speakership after 14 failed votes, was a massive and avoidable strategic failure on his part.
McCarthy spoke last night shortly after his ouster, recounting the improbably American path that led him to the speakership, saying that he had no regrets, but ultimately and correctly noting that a tiny sliver of his GOP caucus had worked with all Democrats to remove him from the speakership.
But as Gaetz’s speaker-ousting colleague Ken Buck told Fox News this morning: “It’s rich that Kevin McCarthy would suggest that conservatives like me, and Andy Biggs, and Matt Gaetz are working with the Democrats on something. When he needed to pass a debt-ceiling bill, he went to President Biden, agreed to a number that was $200 billion more than he promised the Republican conference, and relied on Democrats to pass that debt-ceiling bill. When we were nearing a shutdown, he lost 90 votes from the Republican conference because the bill was so terrible, and he relied on Democrats to pass that bill. This is a situation where there were eight Republicans who were fed up, [but] there were dozens more who would have voted for this but didn’t need to. They didn’t need to stick their necks out. They didn’t need to make everybody in this town mad.”
Was this a band of hard-right fiscal hawks? Mostly, but not entirely. Gaetz, whose lifetime American Conservative Union rating is a solid 92, and who last night told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham, “I am the only Republican in the entire United States Congress who takes no lobbyist money and no PAC money,” was joined by every House Democrat and seven other Republicans: Montana’s Matt Rosendale, lifetime American Conservative Union (ACU) rating 100; Virginia’s Bob Good, ACU rating 100; Arizona’s Andy Biggs, ACU rating 97; Colorado’s Ken Buck, ACU rating 97; Tennessee’s Tim Burchett, ACU rating 91; Arizona’s Eli Crane, newly elected to Congress and thus without a lifetime ACU rating; and South Carolina’s Nancy Mace, an outlier with a rather suspect lifetime ACU rating of 74, which is a full 10 points below that of Kevin McCarthy himself. We wonder: Did Mace think McCarthy is too fiscally frugal? Because it doesn’t appear that she’s met too many spending bills she didn’t like.
The Democrats are grateful to Matt Gaetz because he’s taken the focus off of a lawless Democrat who pulled a fire alarm, off the Democrat-induced catastrophe on our southern border, off the scourge of rampant crime, and off the cascading failures of Joe Biden. But only temporarily.
Newt Gingrich was predictably and understandably indignant on Fox News last night, lashing out at Gaetz and his colleagues for carrying out their coup against a speaker whom Gingrich has steadfastly supported. But Gingrich wasn’t thinking clearly when he said that each of the eight should be subjected to a primary challenge in their congressional districts next November. Gaetz, for example, represents Florida’s 1st Congressional District on the westernmost part of the Panhandle, which includes Naval Air Station Pensacola, and is one of the most solidly conservative districts in Florida. Last year, in the wake of a Democrat-led smear campaign, he easily beat back primary challenges from two solidly Republican prior-military candidates. If Newt thinks the voters of Florida’s 1st are going to oust Gaetz because he ousted McCarthy, he’s sorely mistaken. We’d venture the same guess about the other seven, with the possible exception of Mace, whose voting record seems somewhat out of step with what we’d expect in South Carolina.
In his remarks to reporters at a presser last night, McCarthy provided this fascinating insight:
Nancy Pelosi came to me. She was speaker at the time, on the way out. And I told her I was having issues getting enough votes. And she said, “What’s the problem?” And I said, “They want this one person can rule you out.” And she said, “Just give it to them. I’ll always back you up. I’ve made the same offer to [previous Republican speakers John Boehner and Paul Ryan] because I believe in the institution.” I think today was a political decision by the Democrats.“
It certainly was political. And it was yet another miscalculation by McCarthy if he’d assumed that a treacherous leftist snake like Hakeem Jeffries believes “in the institution” like Nancy Pelosi believes in it. Jeffries had it within his power to maintain the institution; to thwart the power play of Gaetz and his eight fellow Freedom Caucus rebels. All Jeffries had to do was assign a handful of House Democrats from uncontested districts to vote with the House GOP and thereby deny Gaetz and his fellow insurgents their strange-bedfellow majority. And yet, just days after voting with McCarthy on a spending bill that was favorable to Democrats, Jeffries chose to abandon him, to watch the Republicans burn the House down.
Which brings us to another point: Gaetz and his colleagues didn’t actually burn anything down, despite all the pearl-clutching and gnashing of teeth from certain quarters of the Right. A vote on the next speaker will be held next week, and if the government grinds to something of a halt for the next week, then so be it.
As for the next speaker, there are at least four candidates who’ve already emerged within the Republican caucus: Majority Leader Steve Scalise; House Majority Whip Tom Emmer; Republican Study Committee leader Kevin Hern; and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, who announced his bid this morning. Scalise, from Louisiana, has a lifetime ACU rating of 91 and is considered a natural frontrunner. His health is a consideration, though, as he was diagnosed earlier this year with multiple myeloma and has thus been undergoing aggressive chemotherapy. Emmer, whose lifetime ACU rating is a middling 80, comes from a contested district in Minnesota and would thus bring that reach-across-the-aisle perspective to the job. Hern, from Oklahoma, has a lifetime ACU rating of 98, leads the largest caucus within the Republican House, and is seen as having a good working relationship with both moderates and conservatives. And Jordan, the Freedom Caucus leader whose lifetime ACU rating is 100, would bring unmatched energy, toughness, and tenacity to the role.
And there’s another candidate, albeit a long shot, who’s emerged from outside the GOP House caucus: Donald Trump. There’s nothing in the U.S. Constitution, after all, that says the speaker of the House must be a House member. Outside a New York courtroom this morning on day three of his fraud trial, Trump was asked about the speakership mess and whether he’d consider being speaker. He said: “A lot of people have been calling me about [being] speaker. All I can say is we’ll do whatever’s best for the country and for the Republican Party. I just want to say: We have some great, great people. … We’re leading by, like, 50 points for president. My focus is totally on that. If I can help them during the process, I would do it, but we have some great people in the Republican Party that can do a great job as speaker.”
Yesterday, during the somber House discussions prior to the vote on McCarthy’s speakership, Gaetz managed to get a laugh out of many of his colleagues — and perhaps a laugh is just what we need right now. Responding to California Congressman Tom McClintock, who’d earlier said that this version of the House had exceeded all expectations, Gaetz quipped, “If this House of Representatives has exceeded all expectations, then we definitely need higher expectations.”
The attorney general’s protests and crocodile tears couldn’t hide his department’s two-tiered justice.
Nate Jackson

It’s a good thing Merrick Garland never got that lifetime appointment as a justice on the Supreme Court. Perhaps some of the two-tiered justice Garland is meting out as attorney general for Joe Biden’s Social Justice Department is retribution for being denied that seat. Or perhaps he’s just proving to be unworthy of authority.
In any case, the AG sat for a fawning interview with Scott Pelley on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” and he said things that would have made an honest man blush.
Pelley set up the interview by casting Garland as practically an innocent bystander caught between two warring factions while his department oversees investigations of both former President Donald Trump and Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden. Garland, mused Pelley, is just a “70-year-old former prosecutor and former judge with a long history as a moderate” stuck in a tough situation. He spent a good bit of the interview helping Garland assert that he’s not beholden in any way to Biden. Barely even knows the guy, in fact.
Garland began with a familiar assertion about two-tiered justice. “We do not have one rule for Republicans and another rule for Democrats,” he insisted. “We don’t have one rule for foes and another for friends. We don’t have one rule for the powerful and another for the powerless, for the rich or for the poor, or based on ethnicity. We have only one rule, and that one rule [is that we] follow the facts and the law, and we reach the decisions required by the Constitution, and we protect civil liberties.”
What a steaming pile that is, and we’ll explain why in a moment.
The remarkable thing is that Garland keeps saying it. He told Congress the same lie just two weeks ago — almost verbatim, in fact, which tells us only that he’s memorized his talking point.
Garland then explained at length how he is just an innocent bystander, letting special prosecutors Jack Smith and David Weiss run their respective investigations virtually without oversight. As if two partisan hacks need a third partisan hack to tell them what to do in order for it to be partisan hackery.
The AG conveniently forgot to mention that he authorized the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
While fighting back tears, Garland explained that he has dedicated his life to the rule of law because two of his ancestors were murdered in the Holocaust and others among his family were saved by moving to the United States, where “we protect each other” from political violence.
Considering deaths in the Holocaust is indeed still moving, even 80 years later. But we are not persuaded that Garland has lived up to his stated intention, and that’s exactly why his comments denying two-tiered justice are a lie and his emotion reeks of crocodile tears.
Pelley eventually got there, in a way. “President-elect Biden picked Garland for attorney general [dramatic pause for video] on the same day the Capitol was attacked.”
The January 6 riot was disgraceful, and we’ve said as much. Anyone who rioted and attacked police ought to face justice. But that is not what has happened.
“We’ve arrested and brought charges against more than 1,100 people,” Garland said. “There are more to come.” That much is true. Many spent time in solitary confinement. Many were punished, even if they weren’t there that day, to the furthest extent of the law.
Well, except for Ray Epps, who mysteriously got a slight wrist slap.
Pelley wasn’t interested in real journalism, though. He didn’t mention Epps. Neither did he mention Mark Houck, the Catholic father of seven whose home was raided by the FBI over the crime of being pro-life on a public sidewalk and was eventually acquitted. Pelley didn’t ask about the other Catholics targeted by the FBI for the crime of being pro-life — including a group that boasts Justice Amy Coney Barrett as a member. He didn’t bring up Douglass Mackey, the guy the DOJ prosecuted for posting a funny meme about voting for Hillary Clinton in 2016.
Garland’s DOJ has been ruthless against people on one side of the political aisle.
Not so much for the other side. Firebombers and vandals of pro-life clinics, Black Lives Matter rioters who destroyed numerous American cities, angry protesters outside the homes of Supreme Court justices — these leftists face nothing remotely approaching accountability, much less justice from Garland’s jackboots. The only exception came when a man plotted to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Even Garland couldn’t ignore that.
“We protect each other,” Garland practically sobbed. That he uttered such a hypocritical lie in the context of emoting about the Holocaust is even more reprehensible.

President Joe Biden infringes on religious liberty on behalf of the Rainbow Mafia.
Emmy Griffin

Companies, especially bigger ones, have adopted the religion of gender ideology that radical leftists are pushing these days. It comes in many forms, like forcing you to use preferred pronouns, forcing you to talk about micro-aggressions, and forcing you to celebrate and worship according to the LGBTQ+ liturgical calendar.
Biden and his team view the cause of gender ideology, and transgenderism in particular, as the modern civil rights movement, so they’ve passed “anti-discrimination” laws everywhere. With Title IX, they’ve sought to replace women by allowing men claiming to be women to compete in their sports. In the workplace, they are using the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to enforce their radical agenda on all Americans.
Under a new EEOC proposal, sexual orientation and gender identity are being added to sex and race discriminations. The EEOC cites the Supreme Court’s Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia ruling in 2020 as the impetus for this weaponization. In that ruling, SCOTUS ruled that firing someone on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity is unlawful according to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. But the EEOC proposal is now disingenuously lumping in sexual orientation and gender identity to pacify the dangerous gender identity cult.
How does the EEOC define workplace discrimination for gender identity? Here is the language of the amendment:
Examples include epithets regarding sexual orientation or gender identity; physical assault; harassment because an individual does not present in a manner that would stereotypically be associated with that person’s gender; intentional and repeated use of a name or pronoun inconsistent with the individual’s gender identity (misgendering); or the denial of access to a bathroom or other sex-segregated facility consistent with the individual’s gender identity.
This, like so many other overreaches by the transgender activists, is another example of using the power and prestige as an “oppressed” minority to infringe on the rights and safety of others.
Preferred pronouns are a major part of the power play. They are only used to reinforce the lie that a person tells him or herself, and the preferred pronoun enforcer is denying physical reality. There is no such thing as a man being a woman on the inside or a woman being a man on the inside. Chromosomally, you either are a woman or you aren’t. Chromosomally, you are either a man or you aren’t. Male and female are determined by biology. To claim that your soul is a different gender than your body is a religious claim called gnostic dualism, and it is heretical.
There is a difference between being polite and going along with a lie. Forcing someone to lie in the name of politeness (or, in this case, so they will not be fired for “workplace misgendering”) is against many people’s religious and moral beliefs. In other words, it is a violation of religious liberty.
Then there is the issue of allowing someone who is the opposite sex to use the “sex-segregated” bathroom. This infringes on the rights of both men and women. A woman’s right to safety in the workplace is violated when a man is allowed to use her bathroom. There is a good reason that workplaces had segregated bathrooms in the first place. A man is physically able to overpower most women, and a bathroom is where a woman is most vulnerable. On the flip side, a woman using the men’s bathroom ups the odds that the confused woman will claim harassment from the men whom she is sharing that space with, or claim that her own physical safety is compromised in the men’s room.
Lastly, there is the general religious infringement that this amendment by the EEOC would present. If a company is a religious organization, is it required to hire someone who is adamantly against the core values of the company? Seems like the answer should be “No.”
This proposed amendment to federal law regarding sex discrimination and harassment in the workplace is a travesty that infringes on the rights of others for the sake of a small minority of sexually confused individuals. In essence, it declares transgenderism and its followers’ rights more valid than anyone else’s.
As The Daily Signal’s Tyler O’Niel points out, “If the rule faces opposition in the courts, it may force the Supreme Court to reconsider the Bostock ruling.” Bostock was a miscarriage of justice and deserves another look by SCOTUS because its consequences are going to be even more calamitous as trans activists seek to grab more and more power.
Joe Biden’s decision to trumpet his economic record is looking like a really bad idea.
Douglas Andrews

He can’t say we didn’t warn him.
Three months ago, in a piece titled “Is Joe Really Running on Bidenomics?” we questioned the wisdom of this president’s handlers, who’d made a conscious decision to campaign for reelection on the success of Biden’s economic record.
Setting aside the unlikelihood that this guy will be atop the Democrats’ ticket come next November, Team Biden’s gambit is working out just about how we’d expected. As Axios reports, “The Biden re-election campaign’s decision to brand the economy under the president’s name (Bidenomics) is looking like an early blunder that misread the public’s deep pessimism about how things are going on that front.”
Indeed, Axios continues, “Some prominent Democrats are now openly criticizing the Biden campaign’s strategy, arguing that it appears to be in denial of Americans’ economic reality.”
What would we do without some prominent Democrats?
Yes, yes, unemployment is low, and inflation seems to be somewhat in check, but the American people still aren’t feeling it, still aren’t buying Bidenomics. And, as the polls indicate, the numbers are grim: “Forty-four percent of Americans in the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll say they’ve gotten worse off financially under Biden’s presidency, the most for any president in ABC/Post polls since 1986. Just 37% approve of his job performance, while 56% disapprove. Still fewer approve of Biden’s performance on the economy, 30%.”
This is the same poll, by the way, whose headline reads, “Trump edges out Biden 51-42 in head-to-head matchup.” Memo to these pollsters: A 51-42 margin isn’t an “edging out.” It’s an obliteration the likes of which a Republican candidate hasn’t seen since Ronald Reagan trounced Walter Mondale nearly 40 years ago. And it’s this number that’s really causing the Democrats to freak out.
One would think the American consumer might be tightening his belt in the wake of all this grim economic news. And one would be wrong. As The Wall Street Journal’s Rachel Wolfe writes: “Interest rates are up. Inflation remains high. Pandemic savings have shrunk. And the labor market is cooling. Yet household spending, the primary driver of the nation’s economic growth, remains robust. Americans spent 5.8% more in August than a year earlier, well outstripping less than 4% inflation. And the experience economy boomed this summer, with Delta Air Lines reporting record revenue in the second quarter and Ticketmaster selling over 295 million event tickets in the first six months of 2023, up nearly 18% year-over-year.”
The headline of Wolfe’s article reads, “Americans Are Still Spending Like There’s No Tomorrow.” But maybe it’s simply the case that everything is priced like there’s no tomorrow.
Or maybe it’s the case that folks are worried there won’t be a tomorrow. “Fears about a changing climate are driving some people to try to see places before they’re gone,” the Journal article notes. “In a monthly Deloitte survey of 19,000 global consumers, climate change was the only topic among 19 different concerns that respondents reported feeling significantly more worried about over the past year.” Thank Leftmedia hysterics for that.
Elsewhere in the Journal, they note, “Prices are rising more slowly, but consumers fixate on how much lower they were before the pandemic, a problem for Biden.”
Indeed, it’s a problem for Biden. And it should be. “Americans in their everyday lives usually focus on the absolute price of the things they need and want,” the Journal continues. “On that front, prices for many items, though rising more slowly this year than last, remain well above their levels just before or at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and aren’t likely to return to where they were.”
If it really is the economy, stupid, then Bidenomics is in big trouble. And so is its namesake.
When the California governor sizes up the Democrats, he perceives as much weakness as Trump sensed in yesteryear’s GOP.
Daniel McCarthy

Gavin Newsom wants to be Donald Trump.
Eight years ago, Trump took stock of the Republican Party and found it ripe for conquest.
Who could stand against him?
The Bush dynasty elected two presidents, yet both left office with the GOP in retreat.
If Jeb Bush seemed the inevitable nominee for a few weeks or months in 2015, that was only a sign of how stagnant the party had become.
The GOP had nominated a series of second choices and losers: In 2000, Republicans rejected John McCain, only to turn to him eight years later; that year the party said no to Mitt Romney, then nominated him in 2012 for lack of a credible alternative.
Newsom is every bit as ambitious as Trump.
And when the California governor sizes up the Democrats, he perceives as much weakness as Trump sensed in yesteryear’s GOP.
Barack Obama won two terms — but left no heir.
His legacy fell instead to Hillary Clinton, the candidate Democrats had rejected in favor of Obama.
Her defeat by Trump in 2016 proved that Democratic voters had been right about her in 2008.
Now Joe Biden is president — but who is his heir?
The obvious candidate would be his vice president, but her fellow Democrats passed a damning judgment on her potential in the 2020 presidential primaries.
She wasn’t viable then, in the year of racial reckoning. What would make her better now or in 2024?
Newsom, like Trump, is charismatic and telegenic.
He’s a showman who’s booked a national spotlight for himself on Nov. 30, when he’ll debate the governor who stakes the strongest claim to lead the Republican Party after Trump: Florida’s Ron DeSantis.
This almost-but-not-quite-presidential prize fight will take place on Fox News, enemy territory for Newsom.
Yet he can hardly lose: The debate crowns Newsom as leader of the Democratic Party in the states, the obvious counterpart to DeSantis and his Florida model of GOP power.
Republicans who tune in will naturally root for DeSantis, Democrats for Newsom.
But non-committed voters — as with television debates dating back to the 1960 showdown between Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy — may go for whoever is better looking and more personable.
Newsom thinks it will be no contest.
And he knows that no matter how well DeSantis performs on the merits, media other than Fox will favor the Democrat.
Even Trump will have every incentive to declare Newsom the winner and his intraparty rival DeSantis the loser.
When Trump cast his eyes on the 2015 Republican Party, he saw not a coherent whole that could resist a hostile takeover but a fragmented coalition that could be picked off piece by piece by a master of transactional politics.
Newsom sees the same in today’s Democratic Party.
His appointment of Laphonza Butler to fill the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by Dianne Feinstein’s death shows just how strategically transactional the governor is.
Butler is a Black lesbian who has been at the forefront of Democrats’ efforts to liberalize abortion policy, through her leadership of Emily’s List, an abortion-rights PAC.
By placing her in the Senate, Newsom strengthens his identity-politics credentials should he, a white man, choose to challenge Kamala Harris, a Black woman, for the Democratic succession.
Newsom is looking ahead to 2028, but he also has his eye on next year, should Biden — who turns 81 next month — die or withdraw from the race.
Who knows? With an ally like Butler, Newsom might even be prepared to dethrone Biden while the president yet lives and dreams of reelection.
Dianne Feinstein died at 90 after a prolonged decline, hanging onto office despite an inability to discharge its duties.
If Biden is reelected, he will leave office at 86.
Does anyone — Democrat, Republican or otherwise — honestly believe that Biden at that age will be up to the demands of serving as president?
With Biden at its helm, the Democratic Party is as moribund as the Republican Party was when Trump took it over.
The Democrats are there to be seized by anyone as cunning and daring as Trump.
Gavin Newsom thinks he’s that man.
Unfortunately for him, Biden and Harris are not the only obstacles to his ambition.
A more serious roadblock for Newsom is his own state, whose population has fallen for three years in a row.
The Golden State has turned to lead, as fearsome regulations and stratospheric housing costs have demolished the middle class, while elite cities under Democratic maladministration have descended into criminal anarchy.
Los Angeles and San Francisco are making new “Mad Max” movies every day.
Do Americans want the whole country to be like that?
Californians flee to Arizona, Texas and, yes, Florida — but where do Americans go if the nation becomes like Newsom’s failed state?
The Democratic Party needs regime change.
But, alas for Newsom, so does California.

“If at least 218 House Republicans had managed to unite behind a continuing resolution, McCarthy would have had more leverage in this recently completed shutdown fight. Gaetz’s argument is circular; he and his allies refuse to cooperate with McCarthy, weakening the speaker in negotiations with the Senate and White House, and then they complain that McCarthy didn’t negotiate a better deal.” —Jim Geraghty
“The likes of Matt Gaetz believe that Republicans have a problem with the quality of their leadership when the quality of the followership is more the issue.” —Rich Lowry
“Gaetz himself has to look to Democrats to help him take the speaker’s gavel from McCarthy. Who’s the apostate now? Giving Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries ultimate say over the composition of the Republican leadership of the House is a funny way to show ideological or partisan purity.” —Rich Lowry
“Matt Gaetz has pulled off what is probably the greatest dog-that-caught-the-car moment in American political history. Now comes the time when the dog has to concede he has no idea what to do next.” —Byron York
“If you’re voting with every single Democrat in the House to oust a Republican Speaker, it’s not about winning for your constituents. It’s not about winning for conservatives. Based on all the fundraising emails we are seeing, it’s only about personal attention. There are people who fight for you, and people who fight for your attention. Big difference.” —Congressman Dan Crenshaw (R-TX)
“One of the least convincing claims by Gaetz’s defenders is that McCarthy was punished for ignoring the base. ‘The base,’ of course, is a popular euphemism for the most vociferous populist faction of the GOP. This faction enjoys blowing things up — mostly their own party’s prospects. In this case, the ‘base’ was represented by eight Republicans and the entire Democratic Party.” —David Harsanyi

Marching toward the dollar not being the reserve currency anymore. You talk about chaos as if it’s me forcing a few votes and filing a few motions. Real chaos is when the American people have to go through the austerity that is coming if we continue to have $2 trillion annual deficits.” —Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL)

The stock market is coming off back-to-back rocky months, and Wall Street is split on what could be coming next for investors.
The S&P 500 has tumbled about 8% since the end of July but is up about 10.9% on the year. On Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gave up all the gains it made this year and is trading about 0.46% lower over the last 10 months. The Nasdaq Composite is up more than 17% in 2023, but it’s shed more than 6.4% over the last month.
Meanwhile, the CBOE Volatility Index, the market’s so-called fear gauge, hit a four-month high on Tuesday.
“October can seem as difficult as September, but historically it transitions into a more hospitable market environment,” LPL chief global strategist Quincy Krosby told Insider. “The intense sell off has pushed the market into a deeper oversold condition that also makes valuations more attractive.”
The Fed’s latest dot plot, which points to a higher-for-longer interest rate regime, exacerbated the downbeat seasonality trends of August and September, and recent comments from central bankers reinforced those views.
Jay Woods, chief global strategist of Freedom Capital Markets, said the potential for one more rate hike could keep investors sidelined but thinks the market is in a normal corrective stage.
Third-quarter earnings reports could calm the market later this month, he told Insider, but 52-week highs possible by year-end are doubtful.
“I think the low will be put in this month. We’re in the midst of a washout,” Woods said. “What we’re seeing is a corrective phase in the markets to adjust to higher rates.”
Adding to investors’ jitters has been the 10-year US Treasury yield breaching its highest mark since 2007 at 4.80%, and the House of Representatives ousting Kevin McCarthy as speaker.
Yet Gene Goldman, chief investment officer for Cetera Investment Management, told Insider that the spike in yields could be short-lived, making him “cautiously optimistic.”
“The economy is slowing down,” Goldman said. “So you’ll see pressure on long-term yields, which says more opportunity for stocks.”
Earnings are expected to grow by double-digits compared to last year, and the macro landscape underpinning markets should improve as indicators like autos, manufacturing, and housing stabilize, he added.
Fundstrat’s Tom Lee, one of Wall Street’s most prominent bulls, echoed Goldman’s sentiment.
“I think investors should remember that the best opportunities to really make money are during periods of fear, whether that’s March of 2023 or it was October of 2022,” Lee said in a CNBC interview Tuesday. “I’m pretty confident that we’re going to have a nice rally into year-end, much higher from where we are now.”
In a Wednesday note, the JPMorgan’s Marko Kolanovic backed his view that the sell-off isn’t going to end anytime soon, given that the landscape has parallels to 2008.
“Our cautious outlook will likely remain in place as long as interest rates remain deeply restrictive, valuations expensive, and the overhang of geopolitical risks persists,” he said. “Since the start of the year, the headwinds for markets are stronger and tailwinds weaker.”
The impact of the Fed’s interest rates haven’t entirely been felt, suggesting more corporate bankruptcies and consumer loan delinquencies, JPMorgan added.
And Jeff Gundlach, the billionaire founder of DoubleLine Capital, said Tuesday that Treasury yields suggest it’s time to start worrying about a severe downturn.
“The US Treasury yield curve is de-inverting very rapidly,” he wrote in a post on X. That “should put everyone on recession warning, not just recession watch.”

Many of our largest cities simply aren’t safe anymore. A relentless crime wave is terrorizing citizens from coast to coast, and it has gotten to a point where many people are literally afraid to walk outside of their own homes. Of course conditions are the worst in blue cities. In fact, every example that I am going to share with you in this article comes from an area that is being run by liberals. Our once great cities are being systematically destroyed, and our politicians are unwilling to do what is necessary to turn things around.
In Philadelphia, a car dealership that was open for less than a week may be forced to close because thieves stole most of the cars on the lot…
A car dealership open for less than a week in Philadelphia’s Mayfair section is on the brink of closing for good after thieves made off with several cars on Wednesday.
“If we don’t recover the cars, we probably won’t survive it,” said Nathan Kriegler, the co-owner of City Motors of Philadelphia. “It could be the start and the end all in the same week.”
I have never heard of anything like this before.
In addition to taking seven of the eleven vehicles that the small dealership owns, the thieves were also able to get away with their titles too…
They ransacked his office, stole the keys to seven of the 11 cars on the lot, and made off with them. They also broke into an eighth car and tried to hot-wire it but were unsuccessful.
They also made off with the titles of the cars.
Down in Washington D.C., carjacking has become an absolutely massive problem.
In fact, things are so bad that even members of Congress are starting to get carjacked…
Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, was carjacked Monday night about a mile from the Capitol.
His chief of staff confirmed the incident in a statement and said he was not injured.
“As Congressman Cuellar was parking his car this evening, 3 armed assailants approached the Congressman and stole his vehicle. Luckily, he was not harmed and is working with local law enforcement. Thank you to Metro PD and Capitol Police for their swift action and for recovering the Congressman’s vehicle,” the statement said.
His case is fairly typical.
Overall, 75 percent of all carjacking incidents in D.C. involve the use of guns.
And many times those guns are in the hands of young kids.
When one of these young kids decides that it is time to pull the trigger, it isn’t going to matter what you believe.
You could be the most “woke” leftist in the world, but that isn’t going to prevent you from getting killed.
32-year-old Ryan Carson was a very well known “social justice and climate change activist” in New York City, but the young criminal that stabbed him in the chest multiple times didn’t stop to ask what his political beliefs were…
Ryan Carson, a 32-year-old social justice and climate change activist, was brutally stabbed to death in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
Carson was stabbed multiple times in the chest around 4 a.m. at Lafayette Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard. He was with his girlfriend at the time, waiting at a bus stop after leaving a wedding, according to CBS New York.
The suspect, who was acting erratically, approached Carson and asked, “What are you looking at?” before launching the fatal attack.
And even though he repeatedly mocked those that were concerned about rising crime in our streets, that didn’t stop left-wing journalist Josh Kruger from getting shot seven times inside his own home…
A left-wing Philadelphia journalist who mocked concern over rising crime in Democrat-run cities was shot to death in his home.
Josh Kruger was shot seven times after someone entered his home, shot him at the base of his stairs, and then fled. Kruger ran outside seeking help from his neighbors and collapsed, where police found them after responding to call just before 1:30 a.m. on the 2300 block of Watkins Street.
People like this never want to listen to the warnings.
Now they are dead.
At this point, I have no idea why anyone would want to live in Philadelphia. It is one of the epicenters of our national drug crisis, and the two nights of rampant looting that we just witnessed made headlines all over the planet…
On the second night of flash mob looting in Philadelphia, the robbers ransacked the liquor store Fine Wine and Good Spirits, attacking its safe and lottery machine, as shown in footage spreading on social media. Reporter of FOX 29 News Philadelphia Steve Keeley, who originally reported on Wednesday night’s thefts, later posted the videos showing the aftermath of some looting that occurred at a sneaker warehouse in the city.
If you live in Philadelphia, New York City, Washington or any other major city on the east coast, I would consider moving while you still can.
Of course the same thing applies to the major cities on the west coast.
In particular, crime is completely and utterly out of control in the Bay Area.
This week, I was horrified to learn that one serial shoplifter actually doused a store clerk in lighter fluid and set him on fire…
This is the horrific moment a Bay Area store clerk was set ablaze by a homeless serial shoplifter as he tried to stop him from stealing.
Suraj, who declined to provide his last name for fear of being targeted again, can be seen trying to wrestle Kendall Burton, 38, before being doused in lighter fluid.
The surveillance footage shows Suraj’s head consumed by flames as another store clerk runs to his rescue with a baseball bat.
That is nuts.
But this is the world that we live in now.
Along the shore, those that live on houseboats are yachts are having a major problem with “pirates”…
Residents living on houseboats and yachts in the San Francisco Bay resorted to physically fighting off seafaring bandits who are ransacking their ships, former harbor master Brock de Lappe said.
Another woman said she rescued a man whose sailboat drifted into the bay without a motor or any way to get back to shore after one of the “pirates,” which is what the resident call the burglars, cut his boat line during an argument.
“The open shoreline of the (Oakland-Alameda) estuary is littered with sunken wrecks and derelict, end-of-life vessels, and crime has risen to truly intolerable levels,” de Lappe said during a municipal meeting.
Yes, this is actually happening.
And it is being reported that the police “have failed to intervene” so those that are being robbed are being forced to fight off the “pirates” themselves…
The brazen thieves – whose homeless encampments have spilled out of the city – are taking small motor-powered dinghies and using them in smash-and-grab raids on larger vessels and houseboats.
During Wednesday’s San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission’s enforcement meeting community members spoke of having to fight off the pirates themselves as police in the Democrat-run city have failed to intervene.
Sadly, this is just the beginning.
What will you do when thieves finally come to your home?
You might want to start thinking about that, because conditions in this country are going to steadily get worse.
Illegal immigration is fueling the rapid growth of criminal gangs, and these gangs are becoming very aggressive.
And this isn’t just happening near the southern border.
In Oakland County, Michigan the activity of “transnational gangs” is causing a major crisis…
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard called Friday for tighter border security as his office works with multiple agencies to intercept the efforts of “transnational gangs” involved in “high-end burglaries,” prowling across Oakland county and throughout the nation.
The sheriff detailed at a press conference what officials have learned about the burglaries that have ravaged Michigan’s second most populous county, resulting in what Bouchard described as the loss of “hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars” worth of merchandise. He did not detail how many arrests have been made or other details authorities have complied in connection with incidents but said “there are specific threads” officials are aware of.
Unfortunately, the Biden administration has no intention of doing anything about our wide open borders.
So more criminals are pouring in through our southern border with each passing day.
The stage is being set for chaos in the streets of America that will be unlike anything we have ever seen before.
But things didn’t have to turn out this way.
If our leaders would have made much different decisions, we could have gotten much different results.

NEW YORK, NY — The notoriously frugal Donaldson family cleverly posed as illegal immigrants, scoring a free week at a luxury hotel in downtown New York City.
“Good eveni — I mean, hola, amiga!” said Mr. Donaldson, approaching the hotel desk. “We are weary illegal immigrants looking for a top floor corner suite, preferably with a jacuzzi! Away from the ice machine, por favor!”
Despite their pale skin and South Carolina drawl, the Donaldsons managed to fool the hotel staff with authentic Party City sombreros and bushy stick-on moustaches. “My name? Ah yes, my name is Jesus, this is my wife Rosalita, and my daughters Rosalita Junior and, uh, Rosalita extra Junior” said Mr. Donaldson to the check-in clerk. “See, they all have the moustache like me. Muy, muy guapo! Would you care for a churro?”
Feeling compassion for their plight, the hotel employee offered condolences to the Donaldson family for Governor Hochul’s harsh words about illegal immigrants coming to New York. “Such ignorance,” responded Mrs. Donaldson. “You know, a little room service would go a long way towards healing the wounds. Some – what do you Americans call them – margaritas, perhaps?”
At publishing time, a hotel employee had become suspicious after seeing Mr. Donaldson without his moustache, but he saved the ruse by quickly asking, “Donde está la biblioteca?”

Major American media organizations failed to report on two extremely important presentations delivered on September 13, 2023 to the European Union Parliament at its special session to examine the response of the World Health Organization (WHO) to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both of the presentations are summarized below, along with links to the presentations (as well as videos of them which we’ve added!,) which are highly recommended for viewing by all Americans concerned about the health and safety of their loved ones and fellow citizens.
The two presentations are important because WHO international health regulations and policies soon might govern the actions of American health care providers and hospitals if and when the WHO declares another pandemic or health emergency.
Among other things, this article maintains that American medical personnel and facilities should never be subject to the dictates of unelected and unaccountable foreign officials of the WHO or any other foreign organization.
ANP Emergency Fundraiser: The globalists war on ANP is all part of the globalists ‘Big Tech’ effort to silence conservative and independent voices, allowing them to maintain a monopoly on the flow of information. As George Orwell made clear to us decades ago, “The further a society drifts from the truth, the more they will hate those who speak it.” But, with your amazing help, we at ANP promise to keep ‘speaking truth to power’ because, as Orwell also reminded us, “If liberty means anything at all it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.”
