46:1Our refuge and strength may be rephrased “our impenetrable defense.” The psalms regularly use imagery of a fortress to describe God. In the ancient Middle East, cities were built on heights with high walls for defense. Yet there was no city and no defensive structure that was impenetrable. However, the psalmist describes here the One who is a sure defense.[2]
1. “God is our refuge and strength.” Not our armies, or our fortresses. Israel’s boast is in Jehovah, the only living and true God. Others vaunt their impregnable castles, placed on inaccessible rocks and secured with gates of iron, but God is a far better refuge from distress than all these: and when the time comes to carry the war into the enemy’s territories, the Lord stands his people in better stead than all the valour of legions or the boasted strength of chariot and horse. Soldiers of the cross, remember this, and count yourselves safe, and make yourselves strong in God. Forget not the personal possessive word “our;” make sure each one of your portion in God, that you may say, “He is my refuge and strength.” Neither forget the fact that God is our refuge just now, in the immediate present, as truly as when David penned the word. God alone is our all in all. All other refuges are refuges of lies, all other strength is weakness, for power belongeth unto God: but as God is all-sufficient, our defence and might are equal to all emergencies. “A very present help in trouble,” or in distresses he has so been found, he has been tried and proved by his people. He never withdraws himself from his afflicted. He is their help, truly, effectually, constantly; he is present or near them, close at their side and ready for their succour, and this is emphasised by the word “very” in our version, he is more present than friend or relative can be, yea, more nearly present than even the trouble itself. To all this comfortable truth is added the consideration that his assistance comes at the needed time. He is not as the swallows that leave us in the winter; he is a friend in need and a friend indeed. When it is very dark with us, let brave spirits say, “Come, let us sing the forty-sixth Psalm.”
1.Refuge gives the defensive or external aspect of salvation: God the unchanging, in whom we find shelter. Strength probably implies the dynamic aspect: God within, to empower the weak for action. Both are summarized in the words a very present help in trouble, where the term very present has implications of his readiness to be ‘found’ (as the root is used in, e.g., Isa. 55:6) and of his being ‘enough’ for any situation (cf. the Heb. of Josh. 17:16; Zech. 10:10).[4]
46:1God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. The first clause is verbless (the verb is understood), putting the emphasis on the nouns. The latter clause literally reads, “He is found very much [to be] a help in troubles.” Note the phrase “at break of day” in 46:5b, which suggests the prompt availability of God’s help (see also “The Text in Context,” and Pss. 27:9; 44:26; 63:7).[5]
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (v. 1). A favourite theme of many of the psalms is the fact that God is the refuge of his people (e.g., 61:3; 62:7–8; 71:7; 142:5). The words ‘refuge’ (machaseh) and ‘strength’ (ʿoz) are often used in conjunction to depict God’s character and his actions on behalf of his people. The confession here is communal (for the Hebrew text has ‘for us’; and also in vv. 7 and 11). The people acknowledge that when in trouble God is near to help. The translation ‘an ever-present help’ is a traditional one, but the MT simply says ‘in trouble he will be found a help—exceedingly.’ The emphasis should rather fall on how great a help the Lord is, rather than trying to describe its continuous nature.[6]

We offer nursery during the morning worship service for newborns and infants but encourage people to keep as many of their children as they can with them for morning worship. The audio of the service is in the nursery via speakers. There is also a crying room with a video screen and audio of the sermon. We offer Sunday school classes for all ages, but worship together as families. We do not offer “children’s” church.
All who profess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and are members of an evangelical church are cordially invited to participate with us in the Lord’s Supper.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.Psalm 37:3
Trust and do are words which go well together, in the order in which the Holy Spirit has placed them. We should have faith, and that faith should work. Trust in God sets us upon holy doing: we trust God for good, and then we do good. We do not sit still because we trust, but we arouse ourselves and expect the Lord to work through us and by us. It is not ours to worry and do evil but to trust and do good. We neither trust without doing nor do without trusting.
Adversaries would root us out if they could; but by trusting and doing we dwell in the land. We will not go into Egypt, but we will remain in Immanuel’s land-the providence of God, the Canaan of covenant love. We are not so easily to be got rid of as the Lord’s enemies suppose. They cannot thrust us Out nor stamp us out: where God has given us a name and a place, there we abide.
But what about the supply of our necessities? The Lord has put a “verily” into this promise. As sure as God is true, His people shall be fed. It is theirs to trust and to do, and it is the Lord’s to do according to their trust. If not fed by ravens, or fed by an Obadiah, or fed by a widow, yet they shall be fed somehow. Away, ye fears!

Our goal as believers is to mature into the full presence of Jesus Christ in the world by being his unified Body of believers. This challenging goal can only be accomplished if we speak the truth — God’s Spirit-inspired message — and do so with an attitude of love. How can we expect to convey the message of God’s love which sent Jesus if we don’t live that love ourselves?
Prayer
Almighty and sacrificial God, please help me capture all my impure motives and ungodly attitudes and clothe them in your love. I need the purifying and transforming presence of the Holy Spirit even more powerfully present in my life each day, so please fill me and make the Spirit’s fruit more real in my attitudes and actions. In the name of the Lord Jesus I pray. Amen.
Sharon Autry scolded her three-year-old daughter for what seemed like the tenth time that day! And it didn’t help when those little hands went on her hips and she said defiantly, “Words, words, words. That’s all I get?”
Believe me, that got Sharon’s attention. And she began praying that God would help her speak words of “encouragement” rather than words of “criticism“.
Proverbs 18:21 says
“the tongue has the power of life and death.”
Look for the reasons to praise your children. Do it often. Every day! Use words that encourage. Things like, “I love you sweetheart.” Or, “I couldn’t be more proud of you.” And “God loves you, my little one, you are His child.”
The Bible never neglects discipline, nor should we as parents and grandparents. But, always with words prompted by love!
US Border Patrol apprehended 3.2 million illegal aliens in fiscal year 2023 (Oct 1-Sept 30). Since Joe Biden was installed in January 2021, the number is estimated at 10 million illegal border crossers. That number equals about the population of 41 individual states. Let that one sink in.

Official U.S. Customs and Border Protection data includes 3,201,144 apprehensions in fiscal 2023; 2,766,582 in fiscal 2022; 1,956,519 in fiscal 2021; and 471,954 in the nine months Biden was in office in fiscal 2020.
CBP’s fiscal year is from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30.
Combined, official apprehensions total 8,396,199.
Just reading these statistics is overwhelming enough. This is the reality that we as Americans are living in. The U.S. is under invasion on a daily basis while the mainstream media just ignores it.

You may have missed this. Health Canada (the government Health Department) has confirmed the presence of DNA contamination from COVID-19 vaccines. This contamination can trigger cancer and alter the human genome. I’m sure you remember they assured us no such thing was possible and it was only conspiracy theories (read “misinformation”) that made the claim and were proven false. On the same day, another was that Kyle Richards (of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) was “really hurt” seeing a guy she liked holding hands with another woman. News?

California’s Governor Newsom visited China’s Xi Jinping in order to get more ideas on how to run California. Or, perhaps, to give Xi Jinping a few. Meanwhile, Biden headed off to the beach for a vacation (actual story), but the White House assured reporters that he will be very concerned about the crisis in Gaza once he finds out about it. And from the Genesius Times, apparently insurrection is back in vogue for the left after Rashida Tlaib appeared to threaten the president if he didn’t act on behalf of the Palestinians, remaining “silently complicit” for Israel’s “horrific war crimes” (actual story).
San Diego border officials warn of Hamas terrorist border crossings after the FBI arrested an armed Palestinian in Houston. “He had been in touch with jihad groups and so it looks as if a jihad attack was imminent there.” Jihad Watch Director Robert Spencer explains.
Iran’s foreign minister threatened the US while in the United States in a speech at the United Nations that America “will not be spared from this fire” if the fighting is not halted.
And the president of the United States, our commander in chief, read the names of reporters off a cheat sheet, replete with convenient pictures, just in case the names were not enough.
An image from the press conference held on Wednesday with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been circulating on the internet, Fox News reported.
This image shows the president holding a note card with the names and faces of the reporters who asked questions. The list included PBS correspondent Laura Barrón-López, USA Today White House correspondent Joey Garrison, Australia’s Channel 10 Network Political Editor Ashleigh Raper and The Australian’s Jeff Chambers, all of whom were allowed to ask questions during the conference.
One social media user commented, “Biden’s cheat sheet looks like a kindergarten work sheet.”
This is not the first time Biden has been caught with a cheat sheet.
In April, Biden was caught with a notecard bearing the name of Los Angeles Times journalist Courtney Subramanian under “Question #1,” along with a pre-written question.
Sure enough, Subramanian was called on first, asking a very similar question to the one on the sheet.

Our nation and indeed, the entire world is at a pivotal period in history and we need a leader at the helm who knows what’s going on.
The recurring stories of President Biden relying on note cards to remember journalists’ names and formulate questions have raised a pressing concern: When do we consider a person unfit for their duties?
Each instance in which Biden employs a note card not only raises doubts about his grasp of foreign policy, economics and domestic affairs, but also presents an image of vulnerability to nations like Iran.
It’s no wonder that some members of his own party are contemplating a challenge to his leadership.

On Friday, House Democrat Dean Phillips, a Democrat who says he thinks Biden has done a “spectacular job,” announced he is running against Biden for the presidency.
With members of his own party circling the body, one shudders to think of the conversations about Joe Biden taking place in governmental mansions of foreign nations.
Despite claims now being made that the majority of Gaza’s population desires peace and is being held captive by Hamas, data and evidence collected over the past two decades consistently demonstrates the opposite. Hamas enjoys widespread support among Gaza’s civilian population, which voted Hamas into power and would likely do so again. This support finds expression not only in public opinion polls, but in active participation in Hamas attacks.
In Vienna, London, Paris, Berlin, Brussels and dozens of other European cities, demonstrations “in support of Palestine” were organised even before the Israelis responded the jihadist pogrom perpetrated by Iran-backed Hamas on October 7, while the corpses of more than 1,400 Israeli victims — tortured, raped, murdered and mutilated, babies decapitated or burned alive — were still warm. According to a JNS report:
“[T]he IDF on Monday [Oct 23] published two segments from the interrogation of Hamas terrorists who participated in the massacre..
“‘The purpose of entering Israeli territory… was to kidnap civilians; they want as many hostages as possible,’ one of the terrorists revealed. He added, ‘They [Hamas] promised us that whoever brings a kidnapped person will receive an apartment and $10,000.'”
All the same, each and every one of these demonstrations in Europe was the scene of hate-filled slogans against Israel and Jews.
In Brussels, those slogans were shouted, and the atmosphere of violence and blood-lust was everywhere. Around me, surrounded by about 2,000 hate-filled demonstrators, a group of a dozen young Arabs were shouting “Death to the Jews” and “Death to Israel”, all the while exchanging knowing smiles and a few jokes. One of them ordered me to stop filming. I did.
Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger explained in an interview recently that Europe had made a serious mistake by creating within itself, through mass immigration, populations that reject all its norms, values and a “constitutional basis”. He deplored the fact that in 2023 in Berlin, almost 80 years after the Holocaust, people, with complete impunity, are shouting “Death to the Jews” in the streets.
In the hours following the revelation of the butchery committed by Hamas, a wave of racist violence and attacks began in Europe, especially in France. Against Arabs or Muslims? Not at all. Against Jews, of course. In Europe, Jews are still the victims of hatred and violence. Apparently it is a way for our local pro-Hamas Europeans to celebrate the jihad pogrom of October 7.
Even though the media have been warning us for 30 years about the risk of violence against Muslims, in deeds and figures, our Jewish fellow citizens are infinitely more victims of violence and abuse than are Muslims living in Europe. Already in 2015, Jeffrey Goldberg warned in The Atlantic: “In 2014, Jews in Europe were murdered, raped, beaten, stalked, chased harassed, spat on and chased for being Jewish.”
I feel a certain fatigue towards those who hold Israelis and Arabs equally responsible. Not just the European Left, which often no longer takes the trouble to hide its anti-Semitism. No, also those on the right who, out of cowardice or ignorance, tell us that Israel had it coming.
Let us look at a few facts: In 2005, seeing that the peace process had reached an impasse, Israel forcibly expelled 8,500 Jews from their homes in the Gaza Strip and bulldozed all their homes and communities. From that day on, there was not a single Israeli foot on Gaza soil and Gaza was “free.” Now, with not one Jew there, the Arabs of Gazan finally had total control of this beautiful land on the Mediterranean coast and could build the “Singapore of the Middle East“. A group of Americans even donated $14 million to buy 3,000 greenhouses from the expelled Jews and donated them to the Palestinian Authority (PA) to ensure that the Gazans could start with businesses there. Within days, they all had been looted and destroyed.
In 2006, elections were held in Gaza; the majority of Gazans voted for the totalitarian terrorist organisation, Hamas, whose openly stated goal was — and still is — the total destruction of Israel and the eradication of the Jews (Articles 7, 32).
In 2007, in response to Hamas’s smuggling in weapons to fulfil its genocidal mission, a blockade of Gaza was introduced by Israel and Egypt, in agreement with the Palestinian Authority, which Hamas had just persuaded to leave Gaza by killing hundreds of its members, some by throwing them from the top floors of high buildings.
Israel bears no responsibility whatsoever for the pogrom it suffered on October 7, the responsibility for which lies entirely not only with the psychopaths of Hamas but at least as much with the Islamic Republic of Iran, the puppet-master and aspiring hegemon of the region.
But let us return to Europe. In most Western European countries, support for terrorism and incitement to hatred and violence against non-Muslims have gone from being offences, to being support for and diversity and “multiculturalism”. 99% of those who commit these offences are never prosecuted, let alone convicted. Saying “Death to the Jews” and “Gas the Jews” has again become acceptable in the West.
No sane person, according to Thucydides, wants the worst form of war, which is civil war. It is for this reason that Europe needs to better understand what it has done to itself. Europe doubtless intended to “do good” but has demographically overwhelmed itself with people who Europeans may have imagined were fleeing tyranny, but who in fact were bringing tyranny with them. Three measures seem worth considering.
The first is a moratorium on immigration. Europeans will have the greatest difficulty integrating the populations already present in their countries. They may not even be able to. Many do not seem to want to integrate into European culture; they appear to want Europeans to integrate into theirs. It should by now be obvious that adding millions of newcomers every year will not solve the problem.
This would mean leaving the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). The extremist “open borders” jurisprudence of the Strasbourg Court prevents any development of a rational asylum policy. In 2012, the ECHR enacted the so-called “Hirsi ruling,” named after the court case of Hirsi Jamaa and Others v. Italy, which states that the European states have the legal obligation to rescue migrants wherever they find them in the Mediterranean Sea — even just 200 meters away from the Libyan coast — and ferry them to a European port, so that these people can claim refugee status.
When the Italian Navy intercepted illegal migrants in the Mediterranean Sea and sent them back to their point of origin in Libya, not only did the ECHR condemn Italy for this “obvious” breach of human rights; the Italians had to pay 15,000 euros ($17,000 at the time) to each of these illegal migrants in the name of “moral damage”. This kind of money is equivalent to more than 10 years of income in the countries of origin of Mr. Hirsi Jamaa and his companions: Somalia and Eritrea.
In 2016, Somalia’s GDP per capita was an estimated $400 ; Eritrea’s $1,300. Everyone, of course, heard about the Hirsi ruling. In Africa, especially, many understood that if they could reach the Mediterranean, European navies would now be obliged to ferry them directly to Europe. Before the Hirsi ruling, when people tried to reach the shores of Europe, hundreds every year tragically died at sea. After Hirsi, the objective is now simply to be intercepted. Consequently, hundreds of thousands attempt this journey — often with the help of non-governmental organizations such as Médecins Sans Frontières, whose activists wait for boats to appear at sea, just off the Libyan coast.
Finally, Europeans will have to do the unthinkable: actually apply their laws. If anyone — Muslim or non-Muslim — wants to celebrate the jihadist pogroms against Jews, well, they can go and rejoice in Iran or Qatar. Not in Europe.
Every “Death to the Jews” or “Death to Israel” uttered in Europe, particularly after babies tortured, burned alive and beheaded, women raped and more than 200 Israelis dragged back to Gaza as hostages on October 7, is an insult not only to Jews, but to us, what we are, our laws, our democracies and the will of the people.
Globalists rely on useful idiots to carry out the dirty work. A gaggle of useful idiots is running the Biden administration.
The Globalist Plan for America? Open up the southern border and allow as many illegal aliens to cross into the country as you can before somebody or something can stop it.

When GOP Lousiana Senator John Kennedy asked the director of the Center for Countering Human Trafficking, one Cardell Morant, a senior member of the Department of Homeland Security, how many “non-American citizens have come into our country illegally or on the basis of a claim of asylum?” Morant hadn’t a clue, according to Townhall.
Kennedy then surveyed witnesses from the Department of Labor, the Department of Health and Human Services and the State Department before asking, “Does anybody know the number?”
Crickets.
“None of you know the number. Try 8 million. Now of that 8 million, how many were children, Mr. Morant?” Kennedy asked.
“I don’t have that number,” Morant replied.
Eight million isn’t quite 3.5 percent of the American population, but — combined with the percentage of illegals who were already here — it’s already well above that.
“You don’t know, does anybody know?” Kennedy prodded. “None of you know. Isn’t that special? Let’s assume half, OK? Eight million is four Nebraskas, right? Four new states. Let’s assume, and I don’t think this is right, that half of them are children. How many of those 8 million people are still here? Do any of you know?”

Kennedy was taking part in a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with federal officials to address “the safety and well-being of unaccompanied minor children crossing the southern border illegally,” reported the Daily Caller.
If useful idiots are capable of being enlightened, here are the numbers, according to Daily Caller. “Border officials have apprehended triple the amount of illegal migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border since President Joe Biden entered office in January 2021. Officials apprehended over 2.4 million migrants in the 2023 fiscal year, which began in October 2022, according to Customs and Border Protection.”
To put that in perspective, “In the final fiscal year of the Trump presidency, the agency apprehended 458,088 migrants,” reported the Daily Caller.
“How many of those 8 million are claiming asylum?” Kennedy asked the panel of idiots. “You don’t know? How many of them claim asylum and don’t show up for their hearing? Nobody knows?”
Nope, nobody knows. To be kind, one could call it willful ignorance.

HD21 – Josh Thomas – took $193,000 from a single donor (special interest) after signing a pledge to get big money out of politics
HD22 – Travis Nembhard – campaigned with dangerous defund the police organizations, voted to give himself a raise on Manassas City Council
HD27 – Atoosa Reaser – served on the Loudoun County School Board, gave herself a raise, voted not to release reports on sexual assaults in Loudoun County schools
HD38 – Sam Rasoul – spread Hamas propaganda falsely accusing Israel of committing war crimes
HD57 – Susanna Gibson – willingly posted lewd sexual content online in exchange for money
HD58 – Rodney Willett – sponsored a bill to provide tax credits to people buying high-end electric vehicles
HD65 – Joshua Cole – voted for the early release of hundreds of violent criminals
HD84 – Nadarius Clark – charged with concealed weapon violation and possession of marijuana, has unpaid personal property taxes, and campaigned with defund-the-police radicals
HD88 – Don Scott – went AWOL while in the military, admitted to selling crack cocaine while in law school, spent seven years in federal prison for drug dealing, mishandled client funds as a lawyer
HD91 – Cliff Hayes – doesn’t even live in the district he’s running to represent, is trying to fool his own voters
HD97 – Michael Feggans – worked with a liberal dark money group that issued mailers falsely claiming Feggans was a Republican to confuse voters
Virginia Democrats in the state legislature also blocked tougher penalties for drug dealers, killed legislation that would require schools to notify students and their parents if they won national merit awards or other academic commendations, blocked a bill mandating schools have parents’ permission before letting their kids check out mature content from school libraries, and blocked bills combatting anti-Semitism – and that’s just in the past year.
And it doesn’t stop there. Virginia Democrats at all levels of government have also been systematically destroying the moral fiber of our Commonwealth, blatantly ignoring laws, and prioritizing criminals over Virginians.
Fairfax County School Board member Abrar Omeish objected to a moment of silence for victims of Hamas’s terrorist attacks on Israel, has called Israel an “apartheid state,” called the Battle of Iwo Jima “evil,” and previously opposed a moment of silence for victims of 9/11.
Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano has offered sweetheart plea deals to child sex offenders, let repeat offenders walk free, mishandled evidence, wrongfully targeted cops for doing their job, and illegally used an app that deletes messages to communicate with his staff.
Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney Buta Biberaj heinously targeted the father of a girl who was raped at school while letting her attacker go free, after which he assaulted another innocent girl.
Virginians can’t afford to allow morally bankrupt Virginia Democrats anywhere near the levers of power.
The Gateway Pundit reported that the Republican Party of Virginia took the gloves off and mailed out thousands of explicit fliers about Democrat Susanna Gibson’s online sex scandal two weeks before the election.
Susanna Gibson, the Democrat candidate running for Virginia’s House of Delegates against Republican David Owen, posted sex acts with her husband online dubbed “HotWifeExperience” – while soliciting ‘tips’ from their online audience.
Gibson’s online sex scandal may ruin the Democrats going into a high-stakes election where they are desperately fighting to win back the House.
The 40-year-old mother of 2 who is running for a seat in the 57th district in suburban Richmond, reportedly used a platform called Chaturbate to stream sex acts with her husband in exchange for ‘tokens.’
The Republican Party of Virginia mailed out thousands of fliers with direct quotes from Susanna Gibson’s X-rated videos: “I need, like, more tokens before I let him do that,” Gibson told her online audience referring to a specific sex act with her husband in an effort to solicit “tips.”
The envelopes warned residents: “Do not open if you are under the age of 18,″ and “Warning: Explicit material enclosed.”
Gibson’s sex scandal is spiraling out of control. Her poll numbers have plummeted more than 10 percentage points and Virginia Democrats have scrubbed their supporter for her.

The 80-year-old man, who is technically president of the United States, wanders up to microphones and starts talking without knowing why. He struggles to read words off the teleprompter. When he’s done talking, he has no idea where to go until his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, commands him.
This week Biden confused the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group with Hamas when vowing to support Israel’s effort to “prevent its reassur… reemergence in… in both… anyway.” He proceeded to thank Israel as well as “the Palestinian—excuse me, and President Sisi of Egypt.” He was generally clueless, as is often the case.
We are fortunate to have such an alert, capable leader during this time of international crisis and anti-Semitic violence.
