11. The two Hebrew terms for present (homage-offering) (10) and gift (blessing, av) express the humility and the goodwill with which they were offered. In accepting them, Esau for his part was showing goodwill by clinching the reconciliation: cf. Judges 13:23a.[1]
33:11 take my blessing: Before, Jacob had done all he could to take Esau’s blessing (25:29–34; 27:1–45). Now a wiser man, Jacob wanted to bless his brother with what God had given him. He wanted to restore the broken relationship with his brother.[2]
33:11 — “Please, take my blessing that is brought to you, because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough.” So he urged him, and he took it.
We should be glad that God does not deal with us on the basis of our own righteousness, but on the basis of His boundless grace. He blesses us because of who He is, not who we are.[3]
33:11 Please accept my blessing. In this context, Jacob’s blessing refers to the tangible present of livestock that he gives to Esau. Previously, Jacob had deprived Esau of the blessing of the firstborn. While Jacob cannot restore this particular blessing to Esau, he seeks to make restitution by giving him another blessing, which comes from God’s blessing of Jacob.[4]
33:11 my blessing. Jacob’s statement recalls his earlier theft of the paternal blessing in ch. 27. Jacob here offered recompense out of the many blessings God had given him.

Ezra 3:2 — This “3 Chronicles” (because it picks up right where 2 Chronicles ends) is a rebuilding and emphasizes the obedience of the people. “As it is written in the Law of Moses,” and “After the ordinance of David” (Ezra 3:10) is a common theme.
Ezra 3:12 — From Ellicott’s Commentary for English Readers:
This most affecting scene requires the comment of Haggai 2:3 and Zechariah 4:10. The first house was destroyed in B.C. 588, fifty years before. The weeping of the ancients was not occasioned by any comparison as to size and grandeur, unless indeed they marked the smallness of their foundation stones. They thought chiefly of the great desolation as measured by the past; the younger people thought of the new future.
Ezra 4:2 — Esar-haddon was the son of Sennacherib (2 Kings 19:37). After the Northern Kingdom was wiped out, the new settlers were brought in and were judged by the LORD (2 Kings 17:25), so presumably Esar-haddon sent a priest to teach them how to fear the LORD (2 Kings 17:28). In spite of this, they didn’t stop serving other gods (2 Kings 17:32-34). The LORD isn’t just another idol for the shelf of gods. He is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14)! We are commanded to separate from false believers (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).
Ezra 4:5 — One of the earliest references to a special interest lobbyist in the Bible!
Ezra 4:6 — Is this why Esther was afraid to let Ahasuerus know she was a Jew (Esther 2:10)?

1 Corinthians 2:6 — Paul has the answer – the world’s wisdom comes to nought, but God’s wisdom is superior!
1 Corinthians 2:14 — Why is it so hard for unbelievers to see the joys of serving the LORD? Primarily because it appears as foolishness. There are two spirits – the spirit of the world and the spirit of God (vs. 12), and the spirit you have determines what you see and receive.
1 Corinthians 3:1 — In spite of this teaching on the revelation we have from the Spirit of God, Paul says that we are carnal (1 Corinthians 3:1), and not able to bear the meat of the word (1 Corinthians 3:2). We who have the power of the Spirit of God are using the spirit of the world!
Psalm 28:1 — Ah, the words which would have saved countless heartache to the “good kings” and would have saved the “bad kings” – crying out to the LORD! When we cry, we will be able to rejoice (Psalm 28:6-8) in that He hears us!
Proverbs 20:24 — Echoing Proverbs 16:9, Solomon shows the LORD’s knowledge supersedes mere earthly wisdom/knowledge. From the Pulpit Commentary:
If man cannot see all sides, as God does, cannot comprehend the beginning, middle, and end in one view, how then can a man (a weak mortal) understand his own ways. How can he find out of himself whither he should go, or what will be the issue of his doings (comp. Proverbs 16:25; Jeremiah 10:23)?

He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant. (Psalm 111:5)
Those who fear God need not fear want. Through all these long years the Lord has always found meat for His own children, whether they have been in the wilderness, or by the brook Cherith, or in captivity, or in the midst of famine. Hitherto the Lord has given us day by day our daily bread, and we doubt not that He will continue to feed us till we want no more.
As to the higher and greater blessings of the covenant of grace, He will never cease to supply them as our case demands. He is mindful that He made the covenant and never acts as if He regretted it. He is mindful of it when we provoke Him to destroy us. He is mindful to love us, keep us, and comfort us, even as He engaged to do. He is mindful of every jot and tittle of His engagements, never suffering one of His words to fall to the ground.
We are sadly unmindful of our God, but He is graciously mindful of us. He cannot forget His Son who is the surety of the covenant, nor His Holy Spirit who actively carries out the covenant, nor His own honor, which is bound up with the covenant. Hence the foundation of God standeth sure, and no believer shall lose his divine inheritance, which is his by a covenant of salt.
And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. (Genesis 50:24)
Joseph had been an incarnate providence to his brethren. All our Josephs die, and a thousand comforts die with them. Egypt was never the same to Israel after Joseph was dead, nor can the world again be to some of us what it was when our beloved ones were alive.
But see how the pain of that sad death was alleviated! They had a promise that the living God would visit them. A visit from Jehovah! What a favor! What a consolation! What a heaven below! O Lord, visit us this day; though indeed we are not worthy that Thou shouldest come under our roof.
But more was promised: the Lord would bring them out. They would find in Egypt a cold welcome when Joseph was dead; nay, it would become to them a house of bondage. But it was not to be so forever; they would come out of it by a divine deliverance and march to the land of promise. We shall not weep here forever. We shall be called home to the gloryland to join our dear ones. Wherefore, “comfort one another with these words.”

Here are some recent events that seem to indicate that the end of the age is near.
One, concerning the tracking of all buying and selling: Ancestry.com was founded in 1996.
It now has more than 22 million people in its AncestryDNA network, plus it has more than 20 billion records on people.
In Dec. 2020, a company called Blackstone (not Blackrock, although there are connections) bought Ancestry.com.
On July 25, 2024, it was reported that Blackstone CEO Steven Schwarzman is a member of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
This makes him a board member of the WEF and positions him to help fulfill the WEF’s global agenda.
This means the WEF now has access to millions of DNA records and billions of other records that will enable them to identify people if they get control of the world’s healthcare, finances, food consumption, etc.
Two, the coming New World Order will be a godless world government and false religion under the Antichrist and False Prophet, and I believe the Antichrist will come out of the EU (Revived Roman Empire).
On July 26, 2024, the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris, France (one of 27 nations in the EU) featured a repulsive godless parody of the Last Supper with gays dressed in drag.
This blasphemous, unbiblical ceremony was broadcast globally (perhaps viewed by more than 3 billion people).
(My opinion: It was not necessary for these transgender people to mock Jesus – or for the Olympic committee to allow it – but they did, and they will regret it for all eternity if they do not repent of their sins and accept Jesus as their Saviour. Jesus left heaven, lived a hard life, allowed Himself to be beaten, stripped naked, and crucified for their sins, and what they did is an affront to an all-powerful God that loves His Son with an unimaginable passion. These people need lots of prayer.)

Three, concerning corruption or ineptness in the U.S. Secret Service: it has been reported that agents allowed a man with a rifle to climb a 16-ft. ladder onto a roof with a clear shot at Trump’s speaker’s stand, they let that armed man stay there for about 20 minutes, they let Trump go to the speaker’s stand, and allowed the shooter to shoot for about 16 seconds before they took him out.
It is reasonable to think that heads would roll, but on July 23, 2024, it was reported that the Secret Service suggested that Trump’s campaign should stop holding large campaign rallies.
The Secret Service blamed Trump, but one of his supporters suggested they need to focus on doing their job.
Senator Ron Johnson suggested that Trump’s campaign should hire an independent security expert to oversee security provided by the Secret Service.
(My question: If the Secret Service is so corrupt or inept that Trump’s campaign needs to hire someone to oversee what they are doing, why are they needed?)
Four, concerning world government: on July 24, 2024, the Activist Post posted an article by Derrick Broze (journalist, author, radio host, and more) titled “The UN Will Sign the Pact of the Future in 60 Days – Here’s Why It Matters.”

There is more, but the end goal appears to be to speed up the development of a world government.
This is just one step in that process, but it is a giant step.
Five, concerning war and rumors of wars: on July 27, 2024, Hezbollah fired an Iranian-made missile from Lebanon that fell in a soccer field in a Druze village on the Golan Heights (now part of Israel).
12 children were killed, about 40 people were injured, and:
The U.S. said it fears that this incident could turn into an all-out war between Israel and Hezbollah.
Iran has said it will get involved on Hezbollah’s side if Israel launches an all-out war against Hezbollah.
The U.S. and UK have promised to support Israel in an all-out war with Hezbollah.
(My opinion: Shukr and Haniyeh already realize they are not in paradise with 72 virgins and wishing that no more members of their family join them. Sad.)
Six, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: Russia, Iran, Turkey, and others will attack Israel in the latter days and latter years.
On July 28, 2024, Turkish Pres. Erdoğan appeared to threaten to invade Israel in support of the Palestinians and to put an end to the nearly 10-month-old war Israel is fighting against Hamas in Gaza.

(My opinion: There is a lot that Turkey can’t do, and one of them is defeat Israel. God made a covenant to protect Israel, and no nation can destroy them.)

Seven, concerning deceit: on July 22, 2024, it was reported that Kamala Harris is talking like she supports Israel, but she has clearly aligned herself with and supported the anti-Jewish Palestinian protestors in the U.S. that shout “from the river to the sea” and call for an intifada.
Eight, concerning the coming global economic collapse, the U.S. debt has now officially topped $35 trillion, and interest on that is close to $5 billion a day.

God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God, who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

An account of the terrors of working for Vice President Kamala Harris during the days she was a U.S. senator has resurfaced.
Terry McAteer, whose son worked briefly for Harris in a long-ago summer internship, wrote an op-ed for The Union in 2019 when Harris was in the midst of her failed campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.
This is not exactly a startling revelation.
In 2021, as Harris’s staff was heading for the exit one after the other, Politico wrote a piece describing the vice president’s office as a hotbed of dysfunction.
“People are thrown under the bus from the very top, there are short fuses and it’s an abusive environment,” Politico quoted what it said was a “person with direct knowledge of how Harris’ office is run.”
“It’s not a healthy environment and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like s***,” the person said.
That has not stopped some from gushing over Harris, including Hollywood elites like Drew Barrymore.
During an April appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Harris was raved over by the celebrity host, who leaned into a nickname the vice president’s step children created as a play on Kamala: Momala.
But that’s not how McAteer described Harris in his 2019 op-ed, writing “there is another side of Kamala Harris which the general public does not know.”
He summed up how she interacts with her staff, from his son’s experience.
Harris “vocally throws around ‘F-bombs’ and other profanity constantly in her berating of staff and others. The staff is in complete fear of her and she uses her profanity throughout the day,” McAteer wrote.
“As Attorney General, Senator Harris instructed her entire staff to stand every morning as she entered the office and say, ‘Good Morning General,’’ he wrote.
During the internship, he wrote, Harris never introduced herself to McAteer’s son.
His son, he wrote, “was also given instructions to never address Harris nor look her in the eye as that privilege was only allowed to senior staff members,” he wrote.
“I don’t know about you but this is not the workplace of someone who respects her staff. For a woman of color to have employees stand when she enters the room smacks of a bygone era that we, as Americans, deplore and find demeaning,” he wrote.
“Finally, what is up with the ‘don’t look her in the eye’ instruction? I know I wouldn’t want to work in that hostile environment!” he wrote.

The move to take the conflict outside Israel’s borders by the Netanyahu-led Israeli government is proving to be quite a slippery slope that has us seemingly barreling towards getting fully involved in yet another endless war in the Middle East.
On Friday, the Pentagon announced its plans to send additional fighter jets and Navy warships to the region. This strategic move aims to bolster existing US forces and strengthen support for Israel. It comes in response to increased tensions and threats from Iran and its allies, including Hamas and Hezbollah, as IDF forces carry out targeted strikes in Lebanon and, more recently, Iran.
The catalyst for the recent wave of activity was the recent assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, which prompted the supreme leader of Iran to order retaliatory strikes directly on Israel. His advisor to the Foreign Ministry, Seyed Mohammad Marandi, reiterated the point in no uncertain terms, telling the Israelis to “leave” before the barrage comes in an ominous post on X.
Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh explained that the added military assets are meant to bolster the protection of U.S. forces in the region and address the security threats posed by Iran and its affiliated groups.
“We’ve shown since October and again in April that the United States’s global defense is adaptable, and the department can deploy on short notice to address evolving national security threats,” Singh stated. “Thus, the secretary will direct several forthcoming force-posture adjustments to enhance force protection for U.S. forces across the region, increase support for Israel’s defense, and ensure the U.S. is ready to respond to this evolving crisis.”
Singh mentioned that the decision to increase military deployment followed discussions between President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and coordination between Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
The Pentagon plans to send additional Navy cruisers and destroyers capable of intercepting ballistic missiles, along with a new squadron of fighter jets. Although these actions are described as defensive, they signify a notable escalation in U.S. military involvement in an already volatile conflict.
Singh stressed that the deployments are intended to be defensive and to deter potential aggressors. However, some critics argue that increased U.S. military presence may perpetuate the conflict and not solve anything to address the underlying causes of the violence – and worse, is increasingly likely to drag us into the war sooner rather than later.
