TWELVE TOUGH QUESTIONS THAT EXAMINE YOUR CHRISTIAN MATURITY

TODAY’S BIBLE READING CHALLENGE:
Nehemiah 7:73-9:21
1 Corinthians 9:1-18
Psalm 33:12-22
Proverbs 21:11-12
Nehemiah 8:3 — Imagine all the people gathered, begging Ezra to bring the book of the Law, and Ezra reads it to the standing room only congregation from morning till noon!
Nehemiah 8:5 — Wondered where our modern church architecture comes from? The preacher is above the people, standing in a pulpit (Nehemiah 8:4). The preacher reads from the Book, and then causes understanding (Nehemiah 8:8).
Nehemiah 8:14 — Watching people obey the Law is exciting! Especially when it was the most exciting Feast of Booths since Joshua’s time, almost a thousand years earlier!
Nehemiah 9:3 — What does revival look like? Reading the Word, confessing sins, worshiping God!
Nehemiah 9:5 — James Montgomery was inspired by this verse to write the song, “Stand Up and Bless the LORD“. Hear it recorded by the Herbster Trio:
Nehemiah 9:6 — Notice how in the Psalms and in Nehemiah, the worship of God starts with the recognition of Him as Creator! They continue to recount the history of how God worked with His people.
1 Corinthians 9:11 — Paul outlines his case for the reasonableness of being paid for ministry, but then he surprises us by saying in vs. 12, “we have not used this power.” Paul voluntarily gave up his rights so as not to hinder the Gospel. Sounds like Paul is imitating his LORD Who gave up His rights in order to give us the Gospel!
1 Corinthians 9:16 — We need more preachers who can declare “Woe is me if I preach not the Gospel!” Matt Black recorded a song based on this verse:
Psalm 33:12 — A musical was composed based on this verse:
Psalm 33:16-17 — These are the verses that Ezra claimed! We will not trust in horses or mighty men but in the LORD! He can deliver our souls from death (Psalm 33:19).
Proverbs 21:11 — Like Zig Ziglar said, “God has a plan for everyone – even the worst of you can serve as bad examples!”

I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it. (Revelation 3:8)
Saints who remain faithful to the truth of God have an open door before them. My soul, thou hast resolved to live and die by that which the Lord has revealed in His Word, and therefore before thee stands this open door.
I will enter in by the open door of communion with God. Who shall say me nay? Jesus has removed my sin and given me His righteousness; therefore I may freely enter. Lord, I do so by Thy grace.
I have also before me an open door into the mysteries of the Word. I may enter into the deep things of God. Election, union to Christ, the Second advent-all these are before me, and I may enjoy them. No promise and no doctrine are now locked up against me.
An open door of access is before me in private and an open door of usefulness in public. God will hear me; God will use me. A door is opened for my onward march to the church above, and for my daily fellowship with saints below. Some may try to shut me up or shut me out, but all in vain.
Soon shall I see an open door into heaven: the pearl gate will be my way of entrance, and then I shall go in unto my Lord and King and be with God eternally shut in.
Mention God and most people don’t get very upset. Mention Jesus, however, and many people get offended because of what He stands for. You see Jesus came preaching a message of repentance from sin. And while the Gospel states that God loves you it also states that you are a vile sinner in need of a Savior.
I believe the Gospel is offensive for three main reasons. First, its message says that you are a sinner. The thought of being called a sinner doesn’t sit well with most people. Second, it message is very narrow-minded since it states that Jesus is the only way to the Father. People take offense in the idea that all religions, except Christianity, are considered false religions. And third, the Gospel states that if you don’t repent you will have to spend the rest of eternity in hell. So, when we really spell out the full Gospel message we are telling people that they are sinners, that Jesus is the only way to make peace with God, and that if they don’t they are headed to hell.
As a result, it shouldn’t surprise us when people get offended by the message of the cross. In fact, to many who hear the message not only is it offensive but downright foolish to believe. (1 Corinthians 1:18) says: “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” The Gospel, by its very nature, will always seem foolish until the one we share it with is convicted by the Holy Spirit of their sinful nature.
And that’s why we must share the message of the cross often expecting a negative reaction. No one ever said that being a Christian would be easy on our emotions since no one wants to be criticized and attacked for sharing what we know is the best news known to man. But the reality is that people need to be made to see who they really are – sinners – before they can change. Change can then only happen when the sinner is willing to admit their need of repentance. And remember, we can’t save anyone. Our role is to share the Gospel and pray fervently for the conviction of the Holy Spirit on that individual.
The truth of the Gospel, by its very nature, will often be offensive and sharing it may get us verbally attacked and criticized. But as Christians we need to get over the fear of having our emotions hurt because if we don’t share the Gospel how will the non-believer ever get saved. One way to help all of us become more bold in our witness is to realize that if we do get attacked it isn’t really us they are attacking but Jesus. I like what John MacArthur said because it puts things in their proper perspective: “If the truth offends, then let it offend. People have been living their whole lives in offense to God; let them be offended for a while.”1 It’s God’s honor and glory they are attacking and we should be zealous to defend our wonderful Jesus more than worry about our feelings.
Let’s also remember that while the Gospel is offensive it also has the ability to change people’s hearts, to heal, and to free sinners from bondage. As ambassadors for Christ our job is to share the Gospel and lead exemplary lives for Christ. Whether people repent or not is not within our control. What is in our control is our witness and the prayers we offer up on behalf of the sinner we are ministering to. So, let’s go forth into battle with the Word and prayer!

MSM Absent In Reporting “Dozens Of Night Time Low Temp Records” Across US
Climate alarmists and their left-wing corporate media allies, who constantly spread fear and anxiety among an already heavily medicated population, churn out endless streams of climate doom headlines right at the peak of the Northern Hemisphere summer (how convenient). They deliberately ignore the fact that the 2022 Tonga Volcano eruption is contributing to some of the Earth’s warming—and they’ll conveniently leave out this critical piece of climate news: “Dozens of night time low temp records have been broken the last 2 mornings. Many folks waking up to temps in the upper 40s and lower 50s this morning,”

As the war in Gaza rages on and the Strip continues to be degraded, Hamas’s once-firm grip on power is visibly slipping. One of the groups who organised the protest where Jones gave his speech was Stand Up to Racism, a small fringe far-left organisation that appears to be well-funded. Who is funding them?
Is Anti-Semitism A Global Problem Without A Solution?
In looking around the news and the social networks in 2024, it is impossible not to hear the words “Anti-Semitism” or “Anti-Semitic,” regardless of the political slant of those reporting. Anti-Semitism is alive and well and has become part of the culture, especially since Hamas’ terrorist carnage in Israel last October. It is very concerning for Jewish people around the world, and possibly worse in some countries like Great Britain or France.

The Paris Olympics began with a mockery of “The Last Supper” and ended with XY individuals beating up women for gold medals.
Emmy Griffin

It came as a shock to no one that the Paris Summer Olympics would become the groundbreaker in men — or at least intersex athletes — taking over and dominating women’s sports on a major international stage. That expectation was set during the sacrilegious opening ceremonies, when gender-confused activists presented a tableau that closely resembled Leonardo da Vinci’s painting “The Last Supper.” This was accurately interpreted as offensive to Christians and a direct mockery of their faith.
The 2024 Olympics was also notable for its redress of gender binary conformists and its persecution of those who oppose statism. First, Polish state broadcaster Przemyslaw Babiarz pointed out that the choice to elevate John Lennon’s song “Imagine” during the opening ceremonies was promoting communist ideas. For his trouble, he was promptly banned from the Olympics. Second, after one sports commentator called shot putter Raven Saunders by her proper pronouns, his female coanchor corrected him, pointing out Saunders identifies as nonbinary. Yay, pronoun police.
But nothing highlighted the fact that this Olympics was a representation of the leftist dystopia to which the West is slowly succumbing better than the International Olympic Committee (IOC) allowing Algeria’s Imane Khelif and Taiwan’s Lin Yu-ting to compete in women’s boxing. This was in spite of the fact that these individuals were disqualified from the International Boxing Association’s 2023 women’s championships because they failed the chromosome test (both have XY chromosomes). Khelif competed as a welterweight and Lin competed as a featherweight. Both won gold medals after beating up women.
When confronted by this controversy, the IOC refused to provide clarity. Were these males-turned-“transgender”? Did they suffer from differences in sex development (DSD)? Why were they allowed to compete when they had been disqualified from another prestigious international competition? To this day, these questions remain unanswered and likely never will be.
IOC President Thomas Bach told reporters: “If somebody is presenting us scientifically a solid system how to identify men and women, who were the first ones to do it? We do not like this uncertainty. … What is not possible is that somebody is saying, you know, ‘this is not a woman’ just by looking at somebody or by falling prey to a defamation campaign by not a credible organization.”
This is an absolutely ridiculous assertion. XY chromosomes can be detected in a simple blood test or even by a simple cheek swab. This is something the IOC knows full well, as it used to conduct such tests.
In fact, according to National Review:
The International Olympic Committee decided in 1999 to end sex-verification screening for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney because, according to a 2000 article published by Genetics in Medicine, the chromosomal testing was expensive, was discriminatory, and emotionally harmed female athletes. In 2015, the IOC effectively removed the “woman” requirement for women’s sports by allowing male competitors who (1) “declared” to be female, and (2) maintain testosterone levels at or below 10 nmol/L for one year, although such a threshold is well above the average female levels. Later, the IOC updated its “inclusion” policies and deferred eligibility considerations to the respective governing body of each sport.
Bach is due to step down as IOC president when his term is up in 2025. This is interesting timing, as many of these pivotal changes were implemented under his watch.
The purposeful loosening of requirements and the abdication of responsibility are tacit admissions that the IOC knows its rules and guidelines are unjust. It just doesn’t care. The IOC would rather be a beacon for its version of “inclusion.” However, just because the IOC wants to force its version of reality onto the world doesn’t mean reality won’t assert itself. The reality is that men are stronger than women. Of course these XY individuals were going to win gold in the women’s boxing competition.
We should all be outraged that the Olympics have begun erasing women’s sports. As British personality Piers Morgan quipped, “Congrats to everyone who supported this travesty.”
The 2028 Summer Olympic Games are going to be in Los Angeles. Is this what we have to look forward to — more in-your-face disdain for women’s sports and more IOC-sanctioned beating up of women by males in the boxing ring? Let’s hope this isn’t the case. But considering it’s being held in California, the likelihood is very high that progressives there will try to top Paris’s wokeness.
This pushing of perverted pagan values is not coming from the everyday person but from the elites who seek to mold the world in their own image. This was made clear by the many athletes who were outspoken about their Christian faith and who gave glory to God for their victories. It is for them that we continue to watch the Olympic Games.

“Kamala Harris’ vice presidential pick is a dedicated cultural and economic leftist who happens to inhabit the body of an average middle-aged bowling team drinking buddy. And because he doesn’t live in D.C. or NYC, the political media has settled on a nonthreatening description. “No politician in recent memory has parlayed such little talent into such stratospheric success as Harris. “What Harris is trying to avoid is substance. She doesn’t want to offer specific answers, concrete policies, persuasive explanations in an open setting. If that were to happen, she might be unprepared. She might whip up a word salad. Her Progressivism might show. The press might be forced to cover something other than the ‘joy’ and ‘vibes’ she has brought to the trail. … Harris and her media allies will engage in a conspiracy of silence until she has no choice.” —Matthew Continetti

What we see occurring today in Western culture is the late stage of a process in which Christianity is being systematically rejected by the cultural elites. But they have no new religion to replace it. For this reason, they are unable to do anything other than tear down and deconstruct Christianity. The more they succeed, the more a vacuum is created at the heart of a culture where religion ought to exist.
The blasphemy and perversity on display at last week’s opening of the Paris Olympics raises the question: Why did they do that? When given the opportunity to put the best of its culture on display for the world, why did France resort to a tableau of drag queens posing in imitation of Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper? The Christian faith, as a matter of historical fact, has been integral in creating the culture of France, yet here it was mocked and treated with contempt.
France is at the heart of what historians have called the “West,” that is, a culture centered in Western Europe but now spread around the world, emerging out of the conversion of the pagan peoples of Europe during the Middle Ages. This culture was marked by the separation of church and state, the creation of representative government, the rise of universities and eventually modern science, and by the idea that God has endowed human beings with rights and dignity that the state must recognize to be just.

On the other hand, student loans have declined by $10 billion to $1.59 trillion.
Households are still “fighting” inflation with debt.

Folks, I’m starting to think that maybe, just maybe, “Vice” President Kamala Harris is a massive liar.
Kamala wants to copy Trump and not tax tips … one year after the IRS launched a tip-reporting program under her administration 🫠
“Perhaps the biggest “tell” about Kamala is that she believes all Americans should be in “an equal place.” She said that at a Democratic Party event on September 30, 2022. Of course, that’s precisely what Stalin, Mao, Castro, and Xi spout. And it is preposterous because every human being is different, some far more capable than others.”
(Bill O’Reilly) No ideology discussion today. Not needed in assessing Vice President Harris. No honest person can dispute her ardent liberalism. No past presidential candidate from a front-line political party has ever even approached Ms. Harris’ leftist beliefs.
Senator Bernie Sanders, an admitted “democratic socialist” who honeymooned in Moscow, loves Kamala Harris….
She cosponsored his “Medicare for All” bill in 2017, which would have destroyed the private healthcare industry, including pharmaceutical research. The bill never got to a vote because it was so radical.
In 2019, Kamala Harris was labeled by a political analysis group “the most liberal senator” on Capitol Hill. To this day, Elizabeth Warren remains distraught over that. View article →

The US is accelerating the deployment of a carrier strike group to the Middle East and sending a guided-missile submarine to the region, the Pentagon announced late on Sunday.
Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin initially directed the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group to the Middle East earlier this month as the region braced for a potential attack on Israel by Iran and its proxies in retaliation for the killings of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders.
With tensions in the region still running high, Austin ordered the Lincoln to accelerate its transit to the Middle East from the Western Pacific, where it was a few days ago, according to a statement by Pentagon Press Secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder.
Attached to the Lincoln, the lead ship of the US Navy’s Carrier Strike Group 3, is a carrier air wing equipped with a squadron of fifth-generation F-35C
stealth fighters.
When it arrives in the Middle East region, the Lincoln will complement the existing capabilities provided by the USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group, which was in the Gulf of Oman as of last week.
The Pentagon on Sunday said Austin has also ordered the guided-missile submarine USS Georgia, an Ohio-class vessel armed with over 150 Tomahawk land-attack cruise missiles, to the Middle East. According to US European Command, the sub was in the Mediterranean Sea as of July 31.
It is unusual for the US to disclose the movement of its submarines except in instances when the intention is to send a message to regional rivals and adversaries.
The announcement followed a call between Austin and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, during which they discussed “efforts to deter aggression” by Iran and its proxies.
A readout of the call said that “Secretary Austin reiterated the United States
‘ commitment to take every possible step to defend Israel and noted the strengthening of US military force posture and capabilities throughout the Middle East in light of escalating regional tensions.”
The Middle East has been on edge for the past two weeks after Israel killed a top Hezbollah commander in Lebanon and then became the leading suspect in the assassination of Hamas’ political chief in Iranjust hours later.
Both Iran and Hamas vowed revenge for the shocking killings, which sparked fears that any retaliation from Tehran and its proxies could send the Middle East spiraling into even more conflict.
In a move aimed at defending Israel and American forces stationed in the Middle East, the Pentagon earlier this month directed additional military assets to the region, including the Lincoln carrier strike group, additional warships that are capable of shooting down ballistic missiles, and a squadron of F-22 Raptors, fifth-generation stealth fighters.
The US already has a wide range of capabilities in the region. The USS Wasp Amphibious Ready Group has been operating in the Eastern Mediterranean, and the Pentagon has had warships operating off the coast of Yemen.

Unfortunately, this constituency is growing, boosted by the narcissism of social media and the atomization of major cities.Nevertheless, despite its repugnance, everyone should be forced to confront the stark superficiality of the Harris-Walz campaign. From its inception with its ersatz ‘Brat’ mimicry to its rallies, which are really just free concerts with a speech at the end, the Kamala campaign is essentially just a hologram of a political campaign.
That is not to say there are no nuts and bolts, but those are for the “outside groups” like the Sixteen Thirty Fund, Arabella Advisors, America Votes, and others to concern themselves with. Kamala’s job is to convince you the wizard is real, not just a man behind a curtain. There aren’t even just a few examples of this. There are already many, which is a lot for a campaign that has only existed for a few weeks:
1. Stolen Military Valor. Stolen Coaching Valor.
By now, you’ll have likely heard the story of Kamala’s Vice Presidential nominee, Tim Walz, who has gone from robustly defending his record to a quiet, Friday night admission that he “misspoke” about his service in the National Guard.
The CNN interview with a former colleague of his is hard enough to watch as it is, but its conclusion adds the pièce de résistance by having the anchor hurriedly move the segment on in a full-flung panic about the damage she is reluctantly doing to the Harris-Walz campaign. It bears viewing.

During an interview on the Cats Roundtable with John Catsimatidis, disgraced former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy alleged that Kamala Harris is not truly in charge of her presidential campaign.
Instead, he claims that Barack Obama is pulling the strings behind the scenes to orchestrate her election bid for November.
The Gateway Pundit previously revealed that Democrats led by Pelosi, Obama, Bill Clinton, and Schumer launched their coup even before the disastrous debate, anticipating the probability that Biden would fall flat on his face. This gave them time to replace him before the DNC Convention.
On Sunday, Joe Biden weighed in for the first time on the sinister Democrat coup that forced him out of the presidential race.
Biden spoke to CBS’ Robert Costa in an interview taped for Sunday morning and stated that he left the race despite claiming he was in a dead heat with Trump in the polls (he wasn’t). But Democrats were concerned that his struggles would hurt them in down-ballot races.
McCarthy pointed out that Harris has surrounded herself with individuals who were once part of Obama’s inner circle.
“If you’re watching the campaign now, some of Obama’s key advisors, including David Plouffe, are working on her campaign,” McCarthy said, adding, “You’re getting Obama shifting from running the White House to now running this campaign.”
The New York Post reported:
Obama’s former top advisers have had major roles with Team Harris.
Obama’s attorney general, Eric Holder, helped handle the vetting process for Harris’ selection of a running mate for vice president.
Harris also hired Plouffe — Obama’s campaign manager in 2008 and later one of his top White House advisers — as a senior campaign aide. The political operative Plouffe has advised TikTok and Uber, too.
In addition, Harris has tapped Stephanie Cutter, who worked as deputy campaign manager for Obama’s 2012 re-election, as her campaign’s senior adviser for strategy messaging.
The firm of Obama ad-maker Jim Margolis also is supposed to join team Harris, according to Politico. He had worked on Harris’ 2020 campaign.
Harris hired veteran Democratic adviser Jennifer Palmieri… [who] served as director of communications for the White House under Obama and held the same post for former Secretary of State and ex-New York Sen. Hillary Clinton’s 2016 White House bid.
The disgraced ex-Speaker also criticized Harris as a “San Francisco liberal,” highlighting her past as one of the most liberal senators in the U.S. Senate, surpassing even figures like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.
McCarthy warned that the selection of Harris, coupled with her vice-presidential pick of Tim Walz, represents a dangerous shift to the left, one that could have severe consequences for the nation.
“I think they’re excited Joe Biden is not the nominee. Everybody would say whether you’re a Democrat, Republican, or independent, Joe Biden was not up for the job; he was going to lose. So they were excited that he was replaced,” said McCarthy.
“Kamala was not the first pick. And remember, no one ever voted for her. She pulled out of the presidential race. No one in this primary… The Democrats don’t believe in democracy, how they go about doing this.”
McCarthy also expressed concerns about the current state of the nation under Harris’s vice-presidency, citing multiple crises, including inflation, open borders, and international conflicts.
“We saw one of the greatest drops in our market, financial markets. And that’s really what you’re talking about. A lot of people on Wall Street were saying it was looking like Kamala could win. Market drops hard. Her policies, her and Biden for inflation, the regulation, the open borders… I mean, all of this race should be… get the personalities out of it, and let’s just make it about policy. Do you want to get rid of inflation? Do you want an economy where everybody rises up and does better? Do you want a border that’s secure? Do you want a world that is safe?”
As the conversation continued, McCarthy expressed his deep concern for the direction of the country if Harris were to ascend to the presidency.
“I mean, under Harris as VP, you’ve evacuated five embassies. We’ve got turmoil in the Middle East. We’ve got a war in Ukraine. Putin… the only time Putin did not invade another country was under President Trump. So I mean, I really think we’ve got to shift this campaign to just talk about the issues and really get to know who is Kamala Harris, who is Tim Walz, what are their policies, and what is their philosophy. I think this race could be a really big win for America and President Trump.”
