Nehemiah 11:1 — The nobles led by example in dwelling in Jerusalem. Why was it a sacrifice for others to live in Jerusalem? From EnduringWord.com:
- To live in Jerusalem, you had to re-order your view of material things. You had to give up land in your previous region and take up some kind of new business in Jerusalem.
- To live in Jerusalem, you had to re-arrange your social priorities, certainly leaving some friends and family behind in your old village.
- To live in Jerusalem, you had to have a mind to endure the problems in the city. It had been a ghost town for 70 years, and was now basically a slightly rebuilt, somewhat repopulated ghost town. The city didn’t look all that glorious and it needed work.
- To live in Jerusalem, you had to live knowing you were a target for the enemy. There were strong walls to protect you, but since Jerusalem was now a notable city with rebuilt walls, the fear was more from whole armies than bands of robbers. The old village was nice, but not in much danger from great armies.
- The Bible tells us there is a city coming down from heaven to earth, when God is done with this earth as we know it, and it calls that city New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:2). People don’t want to be citizens of the New Jerusalem for the same reasons many didn’t want to be citizens of Nehemiah’s Jerusalem.
1 Corinthians 10:14 — Paul resumes his teaching on what to do about meats offered to idols, and he does so forcefully! He mentioned yesterday that we must avoid idolatry (1 Corinthians 10:7), and he repeats it today.
1 Corinthians 10:20 — And here is the capstone of the argument – meats offered to idols are not under a harmless spell; they are sacrificed to devils! Paul laid out the case earlier (1 Corinthians 10:17) that fellowship is identity; you are judged and rewarded by who you fellowship with. We are communing with the body and blood of Christ (1 Corinthians 10:16); why should we commune with devils? If you missed Paul’s argument, look at 1 Corinthians 10:21. You cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24) – pick which table you want to eat at, the table of devils or the table of the LORD. Unfortunately, GotQuestions.org avoids this verse in its discussion. Trumpet Call also fails to analyze this verse as well, in order to help us understand how the teaching of Paul fits in with the rest of Scripture, including that of Jesus Christ in Revelation 2:14 and 2:20. Paul here clearly says – if you work for Coca-Cola, what on earth are you doing drinking Pepsi? Paul never says that it’s okay to eat meat offered to idols – he says if you don’t know it’s offered to idols, it’s not a problem (an unmarked can of Pepsi). But if you know that it is – avoid it, if for nothing else than loving your fellow Christian believer.
1 Corinthians 10:32-33 — Can a Christian eat meat that is halal (slaughtered in the name of Allah)? First, we must discuss whether Christians and Muslims worship the same God. Al Mohler exhaustively points out that the answer is, “NO!” The meat is not offered to the God of the Bible, but to another god (1 Corinthians 8:5) which in reality is not another god (compare to Galatians 1:6-7, 1 Corinthians 8:6). The Bible tells us who this meat is offered to in 1 Corinthians 10:20. So then, a Christian who is offered meat by his Muslim neighbor and told that it is halal, a) he/she cannot eat it (1 Corinthians 10:28), but b) he/she must decline without giving offence (1 Corinthians 10:32). A tactful refusal must show that you love your Muslim neighbor (Matthew 5:44) for whom Jesus Christ died (2 Corinthians 5:15) and for whom Jesus wants to be saved (1 Corinthians 10:33).
Psalm 34:11 — Pay attention to this Psalm! This is the secret of Proverbs (Proverbs 1:7, Proverbs 1:29, Proverbs 2:5, Proverbs 9:10, Proverbs 10:27, Proverbs 14:26-27, Proverbs 15:16, Proverbs 15:33, Proverbs 16:6, Proverbs 19:23, Proverbs 22:4, Proverbs 23:17)!
Proverbs 21:14 — Jesus may have been thinking about this verse in Luke 14:32. Note Solomon is not talking about bribery.

And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul that thou mayest live. (Deuteronomy 30:6)
Here we read of the true circumcision. Note the author of it: “The Lord thy God.” He alone can deal effectually with our heart and take away its carnality and pollution. To make us love God with all our heart and soul is a miracle of grace which only the Holy Ghost can work. We must look to the Lord alone for this and never be satisfied with anything short of it.
Note where this circumcision is wrought. It is not of the flesh but of the Spirit. It is the essential mark of the covenant of grace. Love to God is the indelible token of the chosen seed; by this secret seal the election of grace is certified to the believer. We must see to it that we trust in no outward ritual but are sealed in heart by the operation of the Holy Ghost.
Note what the result is-“that thou mayest live.” To be carnally minded is death. In the overcoming of the flesh, we find life and peace. If we mind the things of the Spirit, we shall live. Oh, that Jehovah, our God, may complete His gracious work upon our inner natures, that in the fullest and highest sense we may live unto the Lord.
In about 112 AD, those pesky Christians had become a problem for Rome. Pliny wrote to the Emperor Trajan to get some advice. He had all sorts of questions on how far to go with punishing Christians.
Pliny was determined to stop the spread of Christianity. The temples had been almost deserted, the sacred rites were neglected, and the sacrificial animals were without a buyer. Pliny needed to set things right in the Roman world. So what did he do? And, what lessons can Christians learn from this historical moment?
Lesson #1
Pliny needed to figure out who the genuine Christians were. What litmus test could get at a person’s belief?
Here was his playbook:
1) Ask them if they are a Christian.
• If they answer yes, ask them a second and a third time.
• If they answered yes, threaten them with the death sentence.
• If they persist, sentence them to death.
2) If they deny they are Christians, make them do the following:
• Call upon the gods.
• Do reverence with incense and wine.
• Make sure they do this reverence even to the icon of Caesar himself.
3) Then make them do the final thing:
• Curse Christ—this is a thing which, it is said, a genuine Christian cannot be induced to do.
Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 12:3, “Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.” We’re also told in Romans 10:9 that “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Christian, we must be those who so believe whole heartedly that Jesus is our Lord that we could say with Ignatius when he was going to be fed to lions in the Colosseum:
“Entice the wild beasts, that they may become my sepulchre and may leave no part of my body behind, so that I may not, when I am fallen asleep, be burdensome to anyone. Then shall I be truly a disciple of Jesus Christ… if I shall suffer, then am I a freed-man of Jesus Christ, and I shall rise free in Him. Now I am learning in my bonds to put away every desire.”
Pliny thought that if he destroyed their body, then the message would also be destroyed. But the gospel will not die. The gates of hell shall not prevail. Christian, by the Spirit, endure to the end no matter what may come. The resurrection is real. Your Lord is alive!
Lesson #2
Pliny has given us a playbook for how many governments have tried to stop the spread of the gospel. Killing some of the genuine Christians wasn’t enough. How could he ensure the spread didn’t continue?
• Forbid the Christians from meeting and label them as secret societies.
• Apply torture, even to the women if necessary, to attain more information.
Governments still do this today with anti-conversion laws, banning house churches, imprisoning and torturing, and applying societal pressure to Christians. The history books are filled with the accounts of martyrs facing pressure and persecution from the government. Why? Because Jesus and His kingdom are a threat to the order of this world.
Lesson #3
The “depraved and extravagant superstition” of Christianity, as Pliny called it, was truly for all people.
The gospel had spread “not only in the cities, but in the villages and the rural districts as well.” It was received by many persons “of all ages and classes and of both sexes.”
The good news of Jesus Christ is for Jew and Gentile, male and female, slave and free. The gospel cannot be bound to one generation. The Kingdom does not belong to Gen Z or Baby Boomers but to Jesus Christ. The Kingdom of the Lamb is for the poor on skid row and the billionaire in Beverly Hills. The message of the kingdom must go out to the ends of the earth to all peoples.

So goes the age-old journalistic adage that once governed a newsroom’s desire to get the story right. These days, though, our Fourth Estate is about as trustworthy as Joe Isuzu — and even less so now that Team Kamala is passing off fake news as the real deal.
Here’s how the scam works: First, the Harris campaign focuses on an issue of importance to voters, such as healthcare or inflation or abortion or immigration — or even an issue on which the campaign is playing defense, such as the Mitty-esque military record of its valor-stealing VP nominee, Tim AWalz.
Then it finds a particular news story that it likes, typically something from a reliably left-leaning outlet, like NPR, or the UK’s Guardian, or Reuters, or CBS News. Then, it harvests the story for use in its Google Ads campaign, but not before editing the headline and the description to make it even more Kamala-friendly. Take this one, for example, which purports to show an NPR headline that reads, “Harris Will Lower Health Costs,” and a descriptive subhead that reads, “Kamala Harris will lower the cost of high-quality affordable health care.”
But that’s not the actual NPR headline or the actual NPR subhead. That’s a doctored headline and subhead created by Kamala Harris’s propagandists. And yet nowhere on the ad does it say this. And if you think these are isolated incidents, think again. And see for yourself how the Harris team is flooding the zone with fakery.
Here’s another, courtesy of an ad that ran next to an article in The Guardian. The Harris-ized headline reads, “VP Harris Fights Abortion Bans — Harris Defends Repro Freedom,” and it’s followed by an equally obsequious subhead that reads, “VP Harris is a champion for reproductive freedom and will stop Trump’s abortion bans.” Uh-huh.
Why does it matter? It matters because it’s fake news, and because it leaves Democrats and low-information voters (but we repeat ourselves) vulnerable to the deception that all these news outlets are enamored of Kamala Harris and her policies. (They are, of course, but they’re smart enough not to say it in such a blatant way.)
To its credit, Democrat-friendly Axios broke the story yesterday, but it still went all mealy-mouthed on the damning facts. “It’s a common practice in the commercial advertising world that doesn’t violate Google’s policies,” they write, “but the ads mimic real news results from Search closely enough that they have news outlets caught off guard.”
Alas, it seems that our mainstream media has been off guard an awful lot lately, as it’s now been 24 days since Harris began holding “our democracy” hostage by refusing to sit for so much as a single interview with even a pseudo-journalistic fellow-traveler.
As for the news outlets whose journalistic valor is being stolen by Team Harris, they report to being blissfully unaware. As Axios adds, “Spokespeople for brands such as CNN, USA Today and NPR, whose links appeared in Harris for President ads, said they were unaware their brand was being featured this way.”
They’re shocked — SHOCKED — to learn that their reputations are being undermined by their fellow Democrats.
Summing up: If a Google ad tells you that CNN or USA Today or NPR or CBS loves Kamala Harris and supports her policies, you needn’t bother to check it out.
You can be sure it’s a lie, even if it’s the truth.

You know it’s bad when CNN is starting to ask questions about Kamala Harris’s refusal to engage with the media.
Kamala Harris has not done one interview or press conference since she forced Joe Biden off the 2024 ballot 25 days ago.
All she has done is repeat the same teleprompter speech over and over again.
Harris doesn’t even have any policies on her campaign website because Americans are unhappy with the Biden-Harris inflation crisis and open borders nightmare. This is why Harris stole President Trump’s ‘no tax on tips’ idea.
Kamala Harris is hiding from the media again as the Regime does her dirty work attacking President Trump.
It’s so bad that CNN is now starting to question why Kamala Harris hasn’t given one presser since she forced Biden off the ballot in her quest for power.
“Would it kill you guys to have a press conference?” CNN’s Jim Acosta asked Kamala’s communications director.
Michael Tyler obfuscated and said Kamala holds rallies so she can read from her teleprompter.
Acosta shot back, “A campaign rally is not a press conference.”
“We’re gonna be having a sit-down interview here before the end of the month,” Michael Tyler said.
Jim Acosta pressed him: “Can you commit to a press conference this week?”
Harris’s spox said no.
“Can you commit to a press conference before the end of the month?” Jim Acosta asked.
Harris’s spox went in circles again and refused to commit to a press conference by the end of August.

U.S. — Polling averages of the 2024 presidential election compiled by the Silver Bulletin indicate presidential candidate Kamala Harris has a commanding lead with people who’ve recently been hit on the head with a giant rubber mallet.
“Correlation does not imply causation,” a spokesperson for Kamala Harris said. “We are sure that group is very diverse and the fact they are suffering from brain damage is incidental to their support for Ms. Harris.”
American statistician Nate Silver says the numbers don’t lie. “Without fail, an individual who has been hit on the head with a giant rubber mallet will support Kamala Harris. There is even evidence to suggest that former Trump supporters switched over to Kamala Harris after being struck by a mallet. Instead of questioning my results, you should be trying to find whoever keeps hitting these people with rubber mallets.”
“This seems pretty far fetch — OW!” Fox News anchor Sean Hannity said while being struck by a bandit wielding a giant rubber mallet. “On second thought, Kamala has done a pretty good job on the border.”
At publishing time, Nate Silver announced that Kamala Harris supporters crushed by a giant anvil falling from the sky tended to support RFK Jr.

Google blamed a ‘glitch’ for how the Harris Camp was able to edit news headlines to make it look like major news outlets favored her.
As previously reported, the Harris Campaign edited news headlines with Google search ads to make it appear major news outlets such as Reuters, CBS News, CNN, NPR and AP are on her side.
While these major news outlets are shilling for Harris, her campaign edited the news headlines without the outlets’ consent or knowledge.
The ads say “sponsored” but the outlets did not publish the text. The favorable headlines were written by the Harris campaign.
CNN, NPR and other outlets told Axios they were unaware of the ads.
“According to Google’s ad transparency center, the Trump campaign isn’t running these types of ads, but this technique has been used by campaigns before.” Axios reported.
The ads say that they are sponsored, but it’s not immediately clear that the text that accompanies real news links is written by the campaigns and not by the media publication itself.
“Google says a ‘glitch’ occurred which allowed the Harris campaign to run paid ads with fake headlines to deceive voters.” the outlet reported.
The Trump campaign didn’t run these types of Google ads. Only Kamala Harris did.
“Google says there was a glitch in the system which meant some of the barriers they try to put in to make it clear what this is weren’t working,” Fox News reported.
The so-called ‘glitch’ went in Kamala Harris’s favor.

‘Whenever Biden wishes to celebrate a holiday or go on vacation, there seems to be a billionaire whose interests can be benefited by the president waiting to offer a vacation home. The potential for conflicts of interest is vast. Indeed, former ethics officials of both parties have roundly condemned these activities and pointed out their illegality.’
Now it is Joe Biden’s apparently free luxury vacations at exotic locales and resorts most Americans can only see in pictures that are the subject of a complaint, and request for investigation.
For months, even years, Democrats and other leftists have been scorching individual justices on the U.S. Supreme Court, mostly conservatives Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, for their vacations in the company of friends they have.
Democrats are demanding a new Congress-run code of ethics for the justices. Biden has joined in that agenda.
But a report from Just the News explains that even as Biden and Democrats have been pushing for Supreme Court “reform” that would give members of Congress control over the way the justices make decisions, Biden apparently has been taking freebies – and not reporting them.
“Rules for thee, but not for me?” the report taunted, explaining, “Biden and his family have repeatedly vacationed at wealthy friends’ homes over the years without disclosing them on financial forms, yet encouraged media scrutiny of SCOTUS’ similar actions.”
Leftists in the media have been joining the progressives in the Democrat party to call for new congressional controls over the high court – one idea would be to let Congress decide when a justice can rule on a case.
But Biden’s own decision to take apparently free vacations at resort locations is the subject of a recent complaint filed by the Center for Renewing America, which asked the Department of Justice to investigate.
“Whenever Biden wishes to celebrate a holiday or go on vacation, there seems to be a billionaire whose interests can be benefited by the president waiting to offer a vacation home. The potential for conflicts of interest is vast. Indeed, former ethics officials of both parties have roundly condemned these activities and pointed out their illegality,” CRA President Russ Vought explained.
He was director of the White House Office of Management and Budget under President Trump.
Just weeks ago, Biden proposed to “reform” the Supreme Court by casting justices aside after 18 years of tenure, imposing a code of conduct and reversing the court’s decision that presidents have immunity for many of their actions while in office.
Democrats specifically are demanding that because they insist on putting President Donald Trump on trial, in both criminal and civil courts, for his actions in office.
Democrats are on a rampage to change the court because of the three, relatively conservative, justices appointed to the bench by Trump during his first term in office.
That gave the court a 6-3 often conservative majority, meaning that Democrats are unable now to have the high court rubber-stamp their agenda points as happened when there was a leftist court which, for example, created out of nothing related to the Constitution same-sex “marriage” and imposed it on the entire nation.
The report noted Thomas and Alito both have been criticized for accept gifts from, and traveling with, their own wealthy friends.
They later released financial documents showing the gifts and travel, something that Biden has not yet done.
The report noted that “Biden has taken multiple free vacations over the years, allegedly not reporting them on financial disclosure forms.”
Just last year, Just the News said, “Biden took four vacations at wealthy supporters’ homes that he did not disclose on his Executive Branch Personnel Public Financial Disclosure Report, the New York Post reported.”
Those included a stay the beachfront St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, home of rich business owners Bill and Connie Neville.
“For a six-day Thanksgiving vacation, Biden stayed at billionaire hedge fund founder David Rubenstein’s compound in Nantucket. He also vacationed at billionaire climate activist and investor Tom Steyer’s place in Lake Tahoe, Nev., for nine days last August,” the report revealed.
The New York post initially said the White House claimed Biden was going to pay for the stay at Steyer’s home, “but a subsequent local investigation into Steyer’s lacking a rental permit was abruptly dropped and there has been no disclosure of the rental term agreement.”
Further, it appears the homeowners were absent during Biden’s vacations, meaning the stays could be considered other than “personal hospitality.”
The White House has denied the Bidens had any “required disclosures of gifts or travel reimbursements during the reporting period (January to December 2023).”
But the Bidens also made a similar round of vacation stays at exotic locations in 2022, as well.

about the economy (we are in recession right now)…about inflation (it’s horrible)…about jobs (the only job gains are for illegal aliens)…about GDP (the economic growth is mostly from obscene government spending which is causing the debt explosion that will soon destroy our country, economy and your children’s future)…
about crime (it’s the worst in modern history, but the biggest Democrat cities aren’t reporting crime stats to the FBI)…about green energy (it’s a massive failure, which is why your electric and gas bills have doubled and tripled)…
about Democrat policies (which have turned big cities into third world crapholes). Basically, it’s all lies and gaslighting, all the time. About everything.
Because whatever Democrats touch, turns to sh—t.
So, they have to lie about everything…and create a fantasy world…and brainwash you 24 hours a day.

The Deep State frauds are trying to convince you that the most stupid, unlikeable, incompetent, radical, extreme, evil, communist witch in history- Kamala Harris- is now a combination of Mother Teresa and Margaret Thatcher.
The media, social media, and pollsters (all owned by the Deep State, DC Swamp, Democrat Party, China and the Chinese Communist Party) are trying desperately to convince you that Kamala is suddenly leading Trump.
They want you to believe that the person in charge, Biden’s partner for the past four years, the person who caused all your pain, is the person who feels your pain, and the person with all the solutions to make the pain go away.
No one ever asks, “But, you’re in power right now. Why would we have to wait until you’re elected? Why don’t you solve our problems right now? Why didn’t you solve them for the past four years?”
They want you to believe that if only we elect the radical, clueless, incompetent, dumb as a tree stump, “border czar” who never visited the border…and who purposely left the border wide open to welcome in millions of criminals, terrorists, welfare addicts and future Democrat voters…to destroy our economy, explode the debt, take our jobs, overwhelm our schools and bankrupt our healthcare system…and violently rob, rape and murder our citizens…if we only elect THAT person who made it all happen…she suddenly has the magical solutions to make it stop. Even though she directed it all.
Wow! Aren’t we lucky Kamala’s available for the job!
They want you to believe the person who only four weeks ago was as popular as herpes and chlamydia, is now the most popular, exciting and heroic candidate in history.
She hasn’t been allowed to have one press conference, or answer one question, in three weeks as the supposed Democrat nominee for President. She’s being hidden…she’s not allowed to speak…not one word…not because she’s stupid, or got her job only through DEI (even though Joe Biden called her “the DEI Vice President”)…but because she’s brilliant.
And if you believe any of that, I have a bridge to sell you…in Vegas…over the Atlantic Ocean.
So, now please allow me to explain the Deep State, DC Swamp, Democrat plan to get their stooge elected. It’s simple and easy to see…
Kamala Harris will be placed in the Witness Protection Program. She’ll be hidden for next 11 weeks. Just like Biden in 2020. Why? Because anytime she speaks, the world finds out she’s as dumb as a box of rocks, incompetent and a radical, extreme communist. If Kamala speaks, or answers questions, she loses. So, she won’t.
She is “AWOL Kommie Kamala.”
Next comes the censorship, whitewash and coverup. The biased-liberal mainstream media and social media will hide her horrible personality, terrible policies and awful radical, communist voting record.
Not to mention FACTS- they’ll try to hide the actual terrible results of the past four years of the Biden-Harris administration. Kamala owns inflation, crime, the open border catastrophe, and foreign affairs blunders across the globe that are at this moment leading to WW3. All of this has to be hidden and covered up for only 11 short weeks.
In football this is called “Prevent Defense.”
This is the Democrat strategy. Put up two extreme, radical, communist hacks and traitors who appeal only to radical communists, transgenders, BLM rioters, felons, illegal alien invaders, atheist feminists who worship abortion as God, and low information voters who believe the lies of the Deep State PR wing (aka the mainstream media).
Now throw in CIA brainwashing techniques from the media, social media and Google.
Then rig the election with fake mail-in ballots, millions of ballots from corrupt ballot drop boxes and ballot harvesting. Rig the ballots from nursing homes, psychiatrist facilities and drug rehab centers- make sure all these people incapable of taking care of themselves, hand over their ballots. Democrats will do the rest.
And of course, the main tool to steal the election- register as many of 20+ million illegal alien invaders as humanly possible. Promise them welfare, food stamps, free healthcare forever, and no deportations ever, if they vote Democrat.
Maybe mix in a new pandemic, the start of WW3, and/or riots and anarchy on college campuses this Fall. Why? Create as much distraction, crisis and chaos as possible.
“Never let a crisis go to waste.”
That’s the plan. Simple. Brilliant. This is how they plan to steal America forever. Because if they win, there will never again be another Republican President or Congress. They will be in power forever. America will be lost forever.
Anyone think I’m wrong? The only question is, “Can they pull it off?”
