There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true. —Soren Kierkegaard. "…truth is true even if nobody believes it, and falsehood is false even if everybody believes it. That is why truth does not yield to opinion, fashion, numbers, office, or sincerity–it is simply true and that is the end of it" – Os Guinness, Time for Truth, pg.39. “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” – Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
One of my all-time favorite devotionals is Abraham Kuyper’s To Be Near Unto God. As is evident from the title, these 100+ short devotionals are based on Psalm 73:28a:
"But as for me, how good it is to be near God! (NLT)
As I re-read part of a few devotionals in my study of Psalm 16, I ran across the following quote that I underlined and highlighted. In this devotional, Kuyper brilliantly meshes the theme “to be near to God” with the Apostle’s command to “live in peace” (2 Cor. 13:11). The Christian church today could use more teaching on peacemaking! Anyway, here are Kuyper’s comments. It’s a bit longer than my usual post, but I guarantee it’s worth reading! (Note: the bold are the parts I highlighted when I read the following.)
Does the church of Christ understand the great interest that is here at stake? Can it be said, that an effort is in evidence, at least within the church, to pursue this exalted aim? As one means “to be near unto God,” the Apostle indicates a “life in peace.” His exhortation runs: “Be of one mind, live in peace, and the God of love and of peace shall be with you” (2 Cor. 13:11). And yet this peace is continually broken. Let us be well understood. It does not say, that there may no differences arise, nor that with every difference safety must be sought in indifference. Paul did not do this. No, the point in question is the spirit in which differences are faced and settled. A twofold impulse may have play. On one side the holy impulse, in the face of differences to be doubly on our guard, that love shall suffer no loss, and that no unholy word shall escape our lips or pen. But also on the other side the unholy impulse, in the face of differences to allow one’s bitter mind free play, to give one’s passion to annoy free rein, and to inflict whatever pain one can. With the first, one puts himself in an atmosphere of love and peace. With the second, one breathes an atmosphere of bitterness and anger.
In the church it is the same as in the family. Between husband and wife, between parents and children, and between children among themselves, differences continually arise. It can not be otherwise. Interests, insights and endeavors run in opposite directions. But see the difference between one family and another. In the family that is of a noble mind, a limit is put upon these differences, a spirit of love prevails, which of itself opens a way of escape. And where love dwells, the Lord commands this blessing, that hearts remain united. But next to this, alas, how many families there are in which pains are not spared to measure out the difference as broadly as possible, to put the sharpest arrow, as long as it is not poisonous, on one’s bow, and where again and again husband and wife, parents and children, brothers and sisters face one another like furies. This is always the same antithesis which we have indicated. This sinful earth brings us no world, no family or church, without differences or disputes. But it all depends whether a dispute in family or in church finds an atmosphere of love and peace, or one of bitterness and anger..
And now the Apostle points out that cherishing the atmosphere of love and peace is not only a Christian duty, which brings gladness and comfort into life, but that it is also a necessary requisite for the cultivation of life in fellowship with God. A child of God can, and indeed must, be near unto God, and live in communion with God, even amid conditions of restlessness and strife. He who perseveres obtains this blessed end. But, O, it is made thereby unspeakably much more difficult. Where the atmosphere that surrounds us is charged with evil electricity, and the tongue can not be held in leash, and discord rends the robe of love, and the passion of strife breaks loose, everything draws the heart away from communion with its God. There the peace of God, that passeth all understanding, can not fill the soul. There is no calm there and no inward restfulness to lift oneself up from this earthly sphere into the world above, and to enjoy the bliss of nearness unto God. And then in two ways harm is done. First, you fail of one of the most precious means of being near to God; and again you become subject to the dominion of an element that inserts itself with separating effect between you and your God.
A gently tempered mind can, with respect to this, be a blessing to a whole family, to a whole community; and a mind that is poisoned with the bitterness of gall can spoil the tone and spirit of an entire family and an entire community, and make godliness therein to suffer bitter loss. Of every thoughtless and unholy word, and also of every bitter and irritable frame of mind, account must once be made before God. For do not forget, that nothing trains the mind and heart so effectively as the custom and the habit which form and govern the condition and the mood of heart and mind.
If you have once acquired the habit of holding yourself back and of self-control, and when Satan places poison into your hands, at once to reach out for the alabaster box of precious ointment, the struggle becomes gradually easier, the effort to encourage stillness more lovely, and the joy of having cultivated peace and love increasingly rich. If, on the other hand, you give way to your sharpness, to your passion, to your bitterness of mind, you lose more and more the power of self-control, and create for yourself and your surroundings unspeakable harm and wrong.…
Egotism is expressed by many associated terms: self-righteousness, self-promotion, narcissism, pride, arrogance, conceit, and even self-deception. In any case, it is about trying to prove ourselves superior, both to ourself and to others. Many studies have clearly pointed out the universality of this tendency. One study found that 98% claimed the they are morally superior to others.
Why are we so egotistical? The Bible reveals that we are subliminally aware that there is something radically wrong with us, which needs to be addressed lest we succumb to crippling feelings of guilt and shame. The accusations from our conscience are so powerful that they continue to accuse us of wrongdoing:
· Romans 2:15 (NLT) They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.
Since God’s laws are written into our DNA, unless we find His mercy, we will continue to experience inner turmoil. Therefore, we resort to self-justifications:
· Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the heart.
We suppress the truth about ourselves and cannot tolerate exposure by the One who judges us:
· Romans 1:18–20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
After Adam and Eve disobeyed God and eat the forbidden fruit. Once sin entered, it took control. They could no longer tolerate the presence of God and hid from Him. Nor would they confess their sin once God gave them a chance. Instead, they covered their shame with fig leaves, half-truths, and blame-shifting. When God pronounced His verdict upon them and cast them out of the Garden, they seemed relieved. Adam was in denial and named his wife Eve (life), even though their God and Creator had just condemned them to eventual death.
We have been running from God and His terrifying and revealing light ever since, covering ourselves with the fig leaves of money, power, attainments, and sexual conquests, whatever might make us feel self-righteous and entitled, while our conscience has been declaring the opposite. In view of this, Christ pronounced His condemnation upon humanity:
· John 3:19–20 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.
We are condemned by what we love—the darkness of self-deception—and we know it:
· Romans 1:32 Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
We either try to cover this awareness over with the fig leaves of self-righteousness or shake a defiant fist at heaven. Some will even maim themselves to experience a brief reprieve from the punishment they know they deserve.
The Remedy
We suffer from alienation from the Creator and need to be reconciled with Him. None of us can be good enough to earn anything good from Him but death. Our only hope is in His undeserved mercy. What then does He want from us?
· 1 John 1:8–9 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We just need to be real with God and acknowledge our sins, trusting in His mercy through Jesus’ atonement. Solid relationships must all be built on truth:
· John 8:31–33 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?”
The self-righteous Israelite leadership were blinded. Their pride had to be broken for the Lord to begin to let light in through their hard shell. Hence, Jesus’ strong denunciation of the scribes and Pharisees! He had to also break me so that my eyes would see my horrible bondage. However, I could not have endured without the miraculous assurances of His love.
Every day, I am comforted by these assurances. Only in the light of His love can I face myself and even boast in my failures and weaknesses, as He had revealed to Paul amid his disease and God’s unwillingness to heal Paul:
· 2 Corinthians 12:9–10 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Consequently, I can now accept my many weaknesses and even laugh at them, because my true identity is in Jesus, where I rest safe and secure.
Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 January 31, 1892) was a British Reformed Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the “Prince of Preachers.” In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times a week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the New Park Street Chapel in London for 38 years. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon’s which now works globally. He also founded Spurgeon’s College, which was named after him after his death.
Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Arguably, no other author, Christian or otherwise, has more material in print than C.H. Spurgeon.
1 Peter 1:13 — Why does the Bible encourage sober-mindedness? Many are surprised that the Christian faith involves the mind at all, because they think that religion is inherently irrational. But in this sermon on the battle for the mind from 1 Peter 1:13, Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones shows how God calls Christians to use their minds to know Him. Christians are called to purposely think about God and the world as they are in a battle for the mind. This is a different message than what the world often tells people in an irrational age of celebrity worship and cults of personality. The world can give no account for the human mind, because Scripture tells that all are slaves to sin and their minds are wholly darkened. The Christian can only think about and understand the world when they receive the grace of God and come to new life in Christ. This sermon issues the call to leave behind sin and turn to Jesus who alone can save and renew a relationship with God.
145:13Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. The first two lines of this verse occur in Daniel 4:3. The NIV has added the third and fourth lines, which are not in the major Hebrew texts but do occur in the Septuagint and Syriac; they serve the purpose of supplying the missing letter nun: “Faithful [ne’eman] is the Lord in all his words, and gracious in all his works” (author’s translation). However, given the predominant absence of these lines in the Masoretic texts, I would prefer to leave them out. The Babylonian Talmud does take note of the absence of the nun line (Berakhot 4b; see “The Text in Context”).[1]
13. “Thy kingdom is un everlasting kingdom.” His meditation has brought him near to God, and God near to him: he speaks to him in adoration, changing the pronoun from “his” to “thy.” He sees the great King, and prostrates himself before him. It is well when our devotion opens the gate of heaven, and enters within the portal to speak with God face to face, as a man speaketh with his friend. The point upon which the Psalmist’s mind rests is the eternity of the divine throne,—“thy reign is a reign of all eternities.” The Lord’s kingdom is without beginning, without break, without bound, and without end. He never abdicates his throne, neither does he call in a second to share his empire. None can overthrow his power, or break away from his rule. Neither this age, nor the age to come, nor ages of ages shall cause his sovereignty to fail. Herein is rest for faith. “The Lord sitteth King for ever.” “And thy dominion endureih throughout all generations.” Men come and go like shadows on the wall, but God reigneth eternally. We distinguish kings as they succeed each other by calling them first and second; but this King is Jehovah, the First and the Last. Adam in his generation knew his Creator to be King, and the last of his race shall know the same. All hail, Great God! Thou art ever Lord of lords!
These three verses are a reverent hymn concerning “the kingdom of God”: they will be best appreciated by those who are in that kingdom in the fullest sense, and are most truly loyal to the Lord. It is, according to these verses, a kingdom of glory and power; a kingdom of light which men are to know, and of might which men are to feel; it is full of majesty and eternity; it is the benediction of every generation. We are to speak of it, talk of it, and make it known, and then we are to acknowledge it in the homage directed distinctly to the Lord himself—as in verse thirteen.[2]

Job 20:1 — Let’s recap where we are. We are in the second round of the great debate on suffering. Job 3-14 contains Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar’s opening statements followed by Job’s rebuttals. Now we are at the end of Round 2 where we will see Zophar’s second discourse followed by Job’s Response. This is actually Zophar’s closing statement since he will not participate in Round 3. Finally, we’ll see Eliphaz’s final statement in Job 22. From J. Vernon McGee:
Zophar’s second discourse. He introduces nothing new. He rests upon his seniority and resorts to the same legalism. He still holds to the theory that Job is a very wicked person because of the law that the wicked must be punished (vv. 3-5).
Job’s answer. Job is growing weary of their false charges. He appeals to a higher court (vv. 1-4). He agrees that the wicked will be punished but insists that this does not apply to his case.
Job 21:7-15 — Job points out that in addition to wondering why do bad things happen to good people (him), he also wants to know why good things happen to bad people!
Eliphaz’s third discourse. He accuses Job of being self-righteous (vs. 3). His final word to Job is a great gospel invitation, but it does not fit Job’s case (vs. 21). He admonishes Job to return to God (vv. 22-30).
2 Corinthians 1:1 — Timothy, whom Paul was afraid they would despise (1 Corinthians 16:11), who was Paul’s beloved son (1 Corinthians 4:17), is now with Paul!
2 Corinthians 1:3 — How is God the God of all comfort?
in tribulation (2 Corinthians 1:4)
through us to those in trouble (2 Corinthians 1:4)
through the sufferings of Christ (2 Corinthians 1:5)
through the afflictions and comfortings of Paul (2 Corinthians 1:6)
for the Corinthian partakers (2 Corinthians 1:7)
by trust in God which raiseth the dead (2 Corinthians 1:9)
through deliverance (2 Corinthians 1:10)
through the prayers of God’s people (2 Corinthians 1:11)
Psalm 40:11, 17 — The second stanza of yesterday’s song draws from Psalm 40 today!
Proverbs 22:3 — This is a verse that’s often hijacked by the “prepper” community. Matthew Henry sees this verse as having a salvific focus (i.e. faith foresees the evil coming upon sinners, and looks to Jesus Christ as the sure refuge from the storm). eBible draws from John Wayne (“Life’s tough, it’s even tougher if you’re stupid!”). Salem Bible Church emphasizes the evil is not a natural disaster, but temptation (bad friends, alcohol, marrying an unbeliever, unchristian philosophy, not reading the Bible, unsupervised television, etc.).

Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. (Psalm 97:11)
Righteousness is often costly to the man who keeps to it at all hazards, but in the end it will bear its own expenses and return an infinite profit. A holy life is like sowing seed: much is going out, and apparently it is buried in the soil, never to be gathered up again. We are mistaken when we look for an immediate harvest; but the error is very natural, for it seems impossible to bury light. Yet light is “sown,” says the text. It lies latent: none can see it; it is sown. We are quite sure that it must one day manifest itself.
Full sure are we that the Lord has set a harvest for the sower of light, and they shall reap it, each man for himself. Then shall come their gladness. Sheaves of joy for seeds of light. Their heart was upright before the Lord, though men gave them no credit for it, but even censured them: they were righteous, though those about them denounced them as censorious. They had to wait, as husbandmen wait for the precious fruits of the earth: but the light was sown for them, and gladness was being prepared on their behalf by the Lord of the harvest.
Courage, brothers! We need not he in a hurry. Let us in patience possess our souls, for soon shall our souls possess light and gladness.
Jan Markell and Jeff Kinley discuss the closing of the Ark door which begins the Tribulation. This is the beginning of sorrows outlined in Matthew 24. Since we’re close, everything is ramping up and we’re warned to see that no one misleads you. Josh Schwartz invites pastors to the upcoming Pastor’s Huddle in early October.
There are many occasions where what you wear gives expression to who you are. When you go to a wedding, it’s never hard to figure out who the bride is, because the bride is the one wearing the beautiful white wedding dress. When you go to a graduation ceremony, it’s not too hard to figure out who the graduates are, because they’re the ones wearing the square caps and the graduation gowns.
And this is the imagery that the Apostle Paul is using here in Colossians. In virtue of our union with Christ, we have put off the old man with all its practices, and we have put on the new man, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its Creator.
Who you are on the inside – a new creation in Christ Jesus – must be reflected on the outside – not only by mortifying your sin, but also by mirroring your Saviour. Those who belong to Him will more and more begin to look like Him, act like Him and reflect Him to those around them. In essence, Paul is telling us to put on the Lord Jesus Christ, so that when others see us, they see something of Him.
Suggestions for prayer
Give thanks to God that Christ first showed compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience towards us. Pray for the Spirit’s help to mirror these Christian virtues to one another.

The Powers That Be/Deep State have gone to Plan B, since Plan A was a dementia ridden, pants shitting, child sniffing, corrupt, global embarrassment. Everybody knows Kamala Harris is an extremely unlikable, vacuous, commie, diversity shill, Obama puppet. She couldn’t get above 2% support in the 2020 Democrat primaries and had the lowest popularity rating of any VP in history, because she is an honest to goodness moron. She was selected because she can read a teleprompter better than the shuffling cadaver in the White House. Every time she is stumped by a question, she cackles like a hyena, so she cackles a lot.
She hasn’t had an original thought or idea in her entire worthless, sleeping up the ladder, life. But, suddenly she is the toast of the town and the regime media has gone into full propaganda mode to elevate her as the joyful diversity queen who will lead us to the promised land. It is beyond laughable, but have you observed the ignorant masses and their immense gullibility and lack of critical thinking skills? The Deep State engineers have, and they know they can place her in the oval office. The propaganda media machine is in full “elect Kamala” mode, as can be seen in the graphic below.
The plan to place this low IQ diversity puppet into the White House is multi-faceted.
First, they will flood the airwaves with negative ads about Trump, because her record is non-existent/disastrous. They have hundreds of millions to do so.
Second, they will have their regime media outlets heap praise upon her glorious rise against all odds through her joyful brilliance, while scorning Trump as a criminal, white supremacist, Putin puppet.
Third, they will try to duplicate the “Basement Biden” strategy of 2020 by never letting her speak off the cuff, do interviews without having the questions a week in advance, or god forbid do a press conference. They will make up reasons why she won’t debate Trump, and then blame Trump for not debating. They cannot allow her to talk, because it will immediately reveal she is one of the dumbest human beings on the planet.
The US media has once and for all proven that it is in the pocket of the Democratic Party. It continues to fawn over the greatly flawed Kamala Harris while the presidential candidate has steadfastly refused to do interviews or press conferences for weeks.
Taking the lead in this media-backed coup d’état is Time magazine, whose latest issue features a powerful portrait of Kamala Harris on the cover bearing the glowing caption “Her Moment.” Unfortunately, it wasn’t ‘her moment’ for a little chat with the media, although it was certainly the perfect opportunity.
In one of the only lines of criticism against Harris in the 3,000-word puff piece, Time writer Charlotte Alter admitted that “Harris has yet to do a single substantive interview or to explain her policy shifts.” Shockingly, Harris even refused a single comment to Time, despite offering gratuitous promotion of the vice president. That speaks volumes about Harris, who refuses to speak to a publication that is absolutely committed to providing kid-glove treatment to the Democrats.
Alter’s description of Harris provided little substance on the vice president’s track record and oceans of ink spewing vacuous allusions to the carnivalesque atmosphere that now accompanies Harris’ political rallies. Many have suggested that this is the only way she is able to fill stadiums and inject a feeling of enthusiasm.
“The soundtrack suggested a Beyoncé concert,” Alter opened in the very first paragraph of her article titled ‘The Reintroduction of Kamala Harris’.
“The light-up bracelets evoked the Eras Tour. And the exuberant crowd – more than 14,000 strong, lining up in the rain – resembled the early days of Barack Obama.”
The name Taylor Swift, certainly no political scientist, popped up several paragraphs later: “More than 38,000 people registered on Vote.org in the 48 hours after she became the presumptive nominee, eclipsing the voter-registration surge encouraged by Taylor Swift last year.”
And if that wasn’t enough, Alter came up with this ridiculous allusion to Hollywood starlets in an effort to explain Harris’ inexplicable rise: “Mass enthusiasm for a woman is nothing new: Harris’s run comes just a year after the blockbuster summer of Barbie, Beyoncé, and Swift.”
Finally, Time provided an absurd quote from Senator Cory Booker, who invoked Star Wars imagery to argue that Harris has “mastered the art of ‘arm twisting’ required to pass major legislation” for Democrats. “She has gone,” he said, “from being a Padawan to a Jedi master.” Too bad the force was not with Harris when it came to securing the southern border, or helping working class Americans survive some of the worst inflation the US has experienced in decades.
Compare all of that mindless puffery to Donald Trump, who Time interviewed for a cover story in April that was an 83-minute read, while the nitpicking factchecking following the piece took over 20 minutes to digest. Eric Cortellessa, the journalist who conducted the interview, asked Trump a dozen questions about the Trump prosecutions, five questions about the January 6 ‘insurrection’, four on battling the ‘deep state’, three on his “dictator for a day” joke, two about the possibility of right-wing violence if Trump loses the election, and four on whether he’d seek to overturn the 22nd Amendment to serve a third term in office.
It seems that the only reason Trump agrees to sit through these tortuous liberal inquisitions is to have the ability to say he is doing what Kamala Harris conspicuously refuses to do – talk to the media. Whether this strategy will work in his favor is highly debatable given the overwhelming support Harris receives regardless of what she does or doesn’t do. Yet even the Democrats must understand that the media are the gatekeepers to our aspiring politicians. Without the ability of journalists to sit down and grill officials on policy matters, the American people will remain in the dark.
Moreover, sitting in the media hot seat allows the audience to determine if a person has the mettle required for leadership. Many believe that Harris, who has demonstrated an inability to convey complex ideas – ‘word salads’, as they’ve been called – without the assistance of a teleprompter, is perfectly aware of her personal shortcomings, and that is why she is content to remain in the shadows while the media pumps her up into a political tour de force.
This could also explain why the Democrats waited until the 11th hour to replace feebleminded Joe Biden with Harris on the presidential ticket – the less time the American people have to listen to Harris’ convoluted arguments (and grating cackle), the better.
The rise of Harris from basement-level popularity ratings just four years ago to some sort of political genius proves the undeniable power of the corporate media complex to turn the greatest mediocrity into anyone they like.
“The way the US corporate media transformed Kamala Harris from a national embarrassment to a transformative pioneer overnight – without even pretending to care about anything that she thinks or believes – is a powerful testament to how potent the science of propaganda is,” journalist Glenn Greenwald posted on X (formerly Twitter).
The same thing could be said when the media argued in one homogenous voice that Biden was “sharp as a tack” following his disastrous debate against Trump. More shockingly, however, is how so many Americans were deluded by this assessment of Biden’s performance due to media spin. This shows that even the most intelligent people are susceptible to becoming malleable play things in the hands of the mainstream media, whose primary goal is not to inform its listeners, but to simply brainwash them. After all, they don’t call it ‘programming’ for nothing.
Trump and Harris are set to debate on ABC on September 10, an event that the former president, barring some unforeseen disaster, has essentially already won. The final result, however, will depend on whether the audience will side with the snake-oil media and ‘believe their lying ears’, or will they be able to think past their media mind controllers and make an honest judgement of Harris’ performance. The future of the United States hinges on that question.
Robert Kennedy Jr. endorsed President Donald Trump in Phoenix, AZ – TGP’s Jim Hoft photo
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. officially endorsed former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election in a speech on Friday in Phoenix, Arizona.
Kennedy, in a powerful statement, outlined the three primary causes that drove him to this decision: free speech, the war in Ukraine, and what he described as “the war on our children.”
He explained that these issues were central to his initial decision to leave the Democratic Party and run as an independent, and now they have compelled him to support Trump’s candidacy.
Later in the day, Kennedy spoke to thousands of excited Trump supporters in Phoenix who started chanting, “Bobby!… Bobby!… Bobby!…”
Elon Musk later retweeted Bobby’s statements on the Biden regime’s unrelenting attacks on our individual freedoms, including free speech. Elon commented, “Absolutely.”
In this clip Robert Kennedy, Jr. describes the DNC’s continual legal war against him and Donald Trump.
Robert Kennedy, Jr.: The DNC waged continual legal warfare against both President Trump and myself. Then when a predictably bungled debate performance precipitated the palace coup against President Biden, the same shadowy DNC operatives appointed his successor, Vice President Harris, has not appeared in a single interview or an unscripted encounter with voters for 35 days.
This is profoundly undemocratic. How are people to choose when they don’t know whom they are choosing? And how can this look to the rest of the world? My father and my uncle were always conscious of America’s image abroad because of our nation’s role as the template for democracy, a role model for democratic processes, and the leader of the free world.
Instead of showing us her substance and character, the DNC, in its media organs engineered a surge of popularity for Vice President Harris based upon nothing. No policies, no interviews, no debates, only smoke and mirrors. And balloons in a highly-produced Chicago circus.
How did the Democratic Party choose a candidate that has never done an interview or debate during the entire election cycle? We know the answers. They did it by weaponizing the government agencies. They did it by abandoning democracy. They did it by suing the opposition and by disenfranchizing American voters.
What most alarms me isn’t how the Democratic Party conducts its internal affairs or runs its candidates. What alarms me is the resort to censorship and media control and the weaponization of the federal agencies.
As parties go, this one was glitzy, slick, star-studded and electric.
It was also terrifying.
By the time Kamala Harris took the stage at the DNC on Thursday evening, we had been told by the Obamas, Oprah, the Clintons, Hollywood and Harris herself that there is no one better to be the next American president, because…
After a week of this, I still can’t tell you. After a week of the mainstream media insisting the same, I’m at a loss.
I doubt I’m alone.
We just witnessed not so much a convention as a coronation. This entire production, created to sell a product named Kamala, was utterly Orwellian.
Had you awoken from a coma, or alighted from Mars, you’d have no idea that Harris, just months ago, was considered the Democratic party’s biggest liability: Unserious, unprepared, unlikable.
Nancy Pelosi, historically, has not been a fan. Speaking to Anderson Cooper on CNN in September last year, Joe Biden still the nominee, Pelosi was characteristically slippery.
Cooper: ‘Is Vice President Kamala Harris the best running mate for this president?’
Pelosi: ‘He thinks so. And that’s what matters.’
Cooper: ‘But do you think she’s the best running mate, though?’
Pelosi: ‘She’s the Vice President of the United States.’
Ouch.
Harris’s mentor and one-time lover, the nonagenarian former San Francisco mayor Willie Brown, recently told Politico that she suffers from ‘Hillary syndrome’ — that ‘people don’t like her’.
And, of course, there’s that unforgettable Washington Post exposé from December 2021, not quite a year into Harris’s tenure as Vice President, in which multiple ex-staffers alleged she was a cruel boss who never buckled down, or read her briefing notes, or took responsibility for her own lack of preparedness.
It has become more expensive to eat out over the past five years, with food away from home increasing by 30 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In just the past year, the cost of eating at a fast-food restaurant has increased by more than that of a full-service restaurant.
Within the consumer price index, the limited-service meals category (food that is ordered at a counter and taken to go) rose by 4.3 percent year over year in July. By comparison, full-service meals (sit-down restaurants with wait staff) increased by 3.8 percent over the same period.
Mcdonald’s was recently stung by reports that it was charging $18 for a Big Mac, prompting the company’s president to issue an open letter in May.
“I can tell you that it frustrates and worries me, and many of our franchisees, when I hear about an $18 Big Mac meal being sold—even if it was at one location in the U.S. out of more than 13,700,” McDonald’s USA President Joe Erlinger wrote, noting that the average price of a Big Mac across all U.S. franchises had gone up by 21 percent since 2019, from $4.39 to $5.29 today.
According to a McDonald’s “myths vs. facts” sheet, the company increased average menu prices by about 40 percent over the past five years, which is in line with the increase in the firm’s costs. Employee salaries have gone up by 40 percent since 2019, and food and paper costs went up by 35 percent during the same period, the company stated.
At some point, however, customers will question the value of fast food, compared to alternatives such as full-service restaurants or eating at home, industry experts say.
“People like going to Subway to grab lunch. It’s cheap, it’s quick, it’s easy, it’s good. But they question whether they want to pay $12.99, or $14.99, for what used to be an $8.99 bundled meal,” Gary Pryor, a former owner of restaurants and food production companies and a business consultant at Waters Business Consulting Group, told The Epoch Times.
Comedian Jon Stewart this week slammed Sen. Bernie Sanders, Bill Clinton and other major Democratic figures for hypocrisy at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).
“At their convention, they had union leaders and C.E.O.s. They had Democratic Party icons and lifelong Republicans. They had a guy yelling, ‘Screw the billionaires!’ followed immediately by a very happy billionaire,” Stewart said, showing a picture of Sen. Sanders followed shortly by a picture of Illinois Governor and billionaire J.B. Pritzker.
Sanders and former President Bill Clinton both spoke at the DNC this week to support Vice President Harris’ ascendancy to the nominee and leader of her party.
“But credit where credit is due: the Democrats, on short notice, exploited their newfound momentum and enthusiasm with a display of the breadth and width of this diverse, often contradictory party of Roosevelt,” Stewart said.
Stewart mocked Democrats, saying that “it’s all okay if it’s our billionaire. I don’t like billionaires, but he’s all right.’”
The comedian also poked fun at Democrats speaking out against Yale Law graduate JD Vance when multiple Yale alumni, including Hillary Clinton and Sen. Amy Klobuchar.
Stewart also contrasted Harris with Bill Clinton, suggesting that Harris “prosecuted sexual predators” and paused as Bill Clinton’s face appeared on-screen to audience laughter.
Fox News Digital reached out to the Clinton Foundation for comment on the joke, but did not immediately hear back.
Multiple media figures gushed over Harris and DNC speakers this past week.
MSNBC Host Alex Wagner, one of many media figures with direct ties to the Democratic Party as the wife of former Obama White House chef Sam Kass, proclaimed on Tuesday that Trump and his “White patriarchy” MAGA supporters were scared of the “multicultural” future represented by former President Obama and Kamala Harris.
CNN anchor Dana Bash raised eyebrows Wednesday when she said that Democrats are working to win the support of men who prefer speakers such as Gov. Tim Walz and second gentleman Doug Emhoff to wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, who famously tore off his shirt to announce support for Trump at last month’s Republican National Convention.
Political party conventions are renowned for their share of sophomoric tomfoolery and rank partisanship. This last convention was much more akin to a well-defended bunker where, upon entering, you were required to exchange your freedoms and self-interest in much the same manner as you do when you go to Disney’s Fantasyland. You went along for the ride in Chicago, and any naysayer’s thoughts were verboten.
The leadership of the Democratic Party is neither visible nor accountable to anyone, especially the majority of delegates supposedly charting a democratic (small d) future. I contend that the Democratic Party, like our government, is now effectively run as a cult by trained, dedicated anti-Americans of unknown origin or intent.
Did you watch any interviews of rank-and-file delegates at the DNC convention? You’d expect anyone selected to be a delegate to be pro-party and energized. But, what I saw, over and over, were delegates disconnected from reality, almost cultish in expression and demeanor. Answers to questions posed came across as a mile wide and an inch deep, constantly repeated in practically the exact words. We saw nothing less than an almost demonic devotion to Kamala based on little more than generations of loyalty to a system individuals have invested themselves in, and that profoundly changed when they weren’t looking. Note the prominence given to the loudest voices in the room and the endless repetition of tested phrases and attack lines mouthed by one speaker after another. Let’s take a moment and review some Signs of a cult:
Leadership that disciplines its messaging and excludes all other ideas and voices. Pushing out Biden was done in a dramatic and almost coup-like manner. All that was missing was the ritualistic chopping off of the head and cries of “Long live Kamala” chanted over and over again.
Cults exploit their members with psychopathic intent. Democrat actions ultimately result in the exploitation of Americans through taking from one group to give to another “entitled” group. There is no way around it: Democrats are comfortable with confiscation and force – also common practice in cults.
Strict rules and punishments are the norm for any cult. Dems’ messaging is synchronized throughout the party, particularly for the mostly Democrat press. Talking points expressed in concert are overwhelming proof of this.
Cults frequently hide the roles and responsibilities of their members. Democratic elites have been puppet masters ever since Obama. Who is the Wizard behind the curtain pulling the strings? Biden and now Harris are too vacuous intellectually to run much more than an ice cream stand they both seem so fond of. Who in his right mind thinks of Kamala as a potential great statesman and deep thinker or someone who could rise to be another Churchill? I’d expect Biden’s handlers to be quite comfortable taking over Kamala’s reins; she might be even more docile than Biden.
Leaving a cult can be difficult, if not impossible, with cult leadership often seeking retribution on anyone who attempts to escape. Once a Democrat, always a Democrat. Democrats manipulate members of their own party to keep them from thinking independently. Democrats in Congress vote overwhelmingly as a block, much more than Republicans do. Staying loyal to the party brings rich rewards. Going against the party amounts to heresy. We all know what happens to heretics.
Cults use the power of demonization as their most potent weapon. Democrats do not simply disagree; they seek to destroy the other side. This is the ultimate proof that they are a cult. Democrats cannot co-exist with others; bipartisanship has been dead for a generation with Dems seeking total control (think millions of new migrant voters) of the electorate, in addition to continued control of the media they already have.
Cults are paranoid, which translates into seeing themselves under threat at all times. Democrats ascribe the worst tendencies possible to their enemies; they can’t help themselves. They describe the GOP as actively trying to end democracy, freedom and all our rights in a quest to create a billionaire class that controls everything. Democrats assume what they are doing to us is what the other side wants to do with them. In psychology, we call that projection. In a cult, we see paranoia as a defensive measure used against anyone who has non-conforming ideas and, therefore, represents a threat to the collective.
How much of the above do you recognize in today’s Democratic Party?
The leadership of the cult of the Democrats (the donor class, insiders and others we don’t know) recognized that Biden was a loser. Forcing him out (and that’s what they did and why it should be considered elder abuse, if nothing else) laid bare the raw power of their cult. If Kamala bombs at her own debate with Trump, might they call upon even more direct methods of replacing her? What we thought was impossible before only creates a new line that hasn’t been crossed yet. What’s to stop the cult from trying something else we can’t imagine today?
The continued existence of the Democratic cult is in danger if they lose. The cult is frantic with a 50-50 election probability today (depending on who you talk to). They had expected Trump to either be in jail by now or financially ruined. Instead, Trump’s core support remains unchanged.
And this just in: The cult is thoroughly apoplectic concerning recent news that RFK Jr. has suspended his campaign and thrown his support to Trump. I expect that the cult’s “direct action division” is preparing ways to finish Trump off. And I’m not kidding.
In any cult, there are followers, leaders and zealots. It is from the zealots (think Squad members and the many anarchists and Marxists so closely tied to this cult) that a suggestion can be made and translated into action. I would put nothing past this cabal of anti-Americans masquerading as patriots.
God bless America.
