August 31 – Are Unicorns Real? | VCY

TODAY’S BIBLE READING CHALLENGE:
  Job 37:1-39:30
  2 Corinthians 4:13-5:10
  Psalm 44:9-26
  Proverbs 22:13

Job 37:5 — How great is our God?

Job 37:14 — Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God! I’ve seen the Planetarium Show at the Creation Museum many times, but it is still amazing every time!

Job 37:23 — The technical term is “inscrutable.” Elihu is right, we will not be able to “unscrute” the inscrutable!

Job 38:3 — God speaks to Job. He doesn’t explain to him why he went through the tragedies, but He ask Job some questions. Notice the question God asked man: He asked Adam to explain his behavior (Genesis 3:9). Israel Wayne exposited the Questions God Asks in his recent book.

Job 38:23 — God used hail as a weapon in the Exodus and in the conquest of Canaan (Exodus 9:13-18, Joshua 10:10-11).

Job 38:37 — Clouds, those harmless puffs of water vapor, are one of the main reasons your favorite meteorologist can’t predict Friday’s weather. “Clouds and precipitation are among the more challenging weather parameters to forecast accurately.”

Job 39:9-10 — But I thought unicorns weren’t real? The problem isn’t Scripture, but the gradual deterioration of the English language. Eric Hovind points out that the word “unicorn” is not only a transliteration from the Latin, but it also originally (per Webster’s 1828 Dictionary) referred to animals such as the rhinoceros.

2 Corinthians 4:14 — We’ve just read in Job about our God’s amazing power. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead will raise us up from the dead as well!

2 Corinthians 5:10 — The most sobering doctrine in the Bible is the Bema Seat. We aren’t just on a 80-some year cruise boat voyage to do our own pleasures. We are working towards a reviewal of our performance. Chuck Missler dispels some myths about the Bema:

This judgment is often taught as simply an awards ceremony, but that is not entirely correct. It was the tribunal seat, the judicial bench, the judgment seat, or throne of the one in charge. Herod Agrippa I addressed the people of Tyre and Sidon from his Bema seat. Jesus was brought before Pilate and his Bema seat. Paul was accused before Proconsul Gallio; and brought before Festus at Caesarea facing a Bema seat. A relic of one was found among the ruins in Corinth.

Psalm 44:9 — Did the Psalmist just borrow from Job?

Psalm 44:23 — The proper response is not to dispute with God, but to continue to call upon the name of the LORD!

Proverbs 22:13 — When you need an excuse, any excuse will do!

Sins of Ignorance | VCY

And it shall be forgiven them; for it is ignorance. (Numbers 15:25)

Because of our ignorance we are not fully aware of our sins of ignorance. Yet we may be sure they are many, in the form both of commission and omission. We may be doing in all sincerity, as a service to God, that which He has never commanded and can never accept.

The Lord knows these sins of ignorance every one. This may well alarm us, since in justice He will require these trespasses at our hand; but on the other hand, faith spies comfort in this fact, for the Lord will see to it that stains unseen by us shall yet be washed away. He sees the sin that He may cease to see it by casting it behind His back.

Our great comfort is that Jesus, the true priest, has made atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel. That atonement secures the pardon of unknown sins. His precious blood cleanses us from all sin. Whether our eyes have seen it and wept over it or not, God has seen it, Christ has atoned for it, the Spirit bears witness to the pardon of it, and so we have a threefold peace.

O my Father, I praise Thy divine knowledge, which not only perceives my iniquities but provides an atonement which delivers me from the guilt of them, even before I know that I am guilty.

Scientists expect Star of Jacob to appear this month
Scientists predict that a nova in the star system called T Coronae Borealis, or T CrB, will be visible to people on Earth in the next month. T CrB will appear 1,500 times brighter than usual, making it the 50th brightest star in the night sky. This nova may just be the Star of Jacob Balaam described as presaging the appearance of the Messiah. As T CrB is 2,630 light-years from Earth, light from the binary system requires 2,630 years to arrive at Earth.

The US Navy is experiencing an ongoing shortage of qualified mariners. The solution? Sideline 17 support and replenishment ships, according to US Naval Institute News. The proposed action involves entering these ships into an “extended maintenance” period and reassigning their crews to other ships, potentially freeing up 600 to 700 sailors. It’s definitely a head-scratcher.

Free speech is in trouble on both sides of the Atlantic
In June, the US Supreme Court reversed a lower court’s decision that barred the US government and its agencies from coordinating with social media to censor and suppress views that don’t follow the government’s narrative. But free speech is not only in trouble in America.  As David Thunder points out, free speech is in trouble on both sides of the Atlantic.

Labour Decides To Create Fear – But The British Public See Through Their Agenda
Keir Starmer, a man who has fallen into power by default has, in a few months, managed to destroy and divide a once great and proud United Kingdom. While the everyday, hardworking, high-tax-paying citizens of this great nation are still reeling in shock and fear that anything they might think, do, or say could end in a jail term, we ask how a democracy can fall so fast into what verges on dictatorship.

Mid-Day Snapshot · August 29, 2024

“From The Patriot Post (patriotpost.us)”.

THE FOUNDATION

“No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the invisible hand, which conducts the Affairs of men more than the People of the United States. Every step, by which they have advanced to the character of an independent nation, seems to have been distinguished by some token of providential agency.” —George Washington (1789)

ON THIS DAY in 1776, the Patriot army escaped over the East River to Manhattan after losing the Battle of Long Island. But on this same day in 1944, American soldiers marched down the Champs-Élysées in Paris after liberating the French capital from the German Nazis.

IN TODAY’S DIGEST

EXECUTIVE NEWS SUMMARY

Douglas Andrews, Thomas Gallatin, & Jordan Candler

Government & Politics

  • No post-DNC bump for Kamala ahead of cowardly CNN interview: Thanks to spectacularly supplicant mainstream media, the Kamala Harris honeymoon has lasted a bit longer than we’d originally thought. But the end is near. Our first sense of this comes in the post-Democratic National Convention polling, which shows that Harris didn’t get the usual bump that comes at the end of these carefully choreographed events. According to a Morning Consult poll, Harris leads Trump 48% to 44%, which is unchanged from the same poll taken just prior to the convention. And those numbers aren’t likely to get any better, as Harris has refused to sit for a friendly interview without Support Dog Tim Walz by her side. What a colossal show of weakness. After more than a month of dodging interviews, Harris can’t even summon up the courage to go one-on-one with CNN’s Dana Bash. Coupled with her request for written materials in the upcoming debate, she comes across as a candidate utterly lacking in confidence as an extemporaneous speaker. As Trump senior adviser Stephen Miller put it, “The Democrats installed as their nominee … the only liberal in America afraid to do a CNN hit.”
  • “Trump-proofing” the (In)Justice Department: In an effort to prevent a future Donald Trump administration from reversing priority agenda items, the Biden/Harris administration is using “Schedule A” hiring authority to fill as many career bureaucratic positions as possible with a cadre of like-minded professionals. The goal is to effectively plug the bureaucratic drain, making it much harder for Trump to drain The Swamp. Schedule A allows hiring without requiring appointments to be based on merits. Furthermore, these hires don’t expire at the end of a presidency. The Biden/Harris administration has focused on filling positions for lawyers and judges within the Justice Department’s Environmental and Natural Resources, Antitrust, and Immigration Review divisions. New immigration judges are also part of the scheme, which would make it much more difficult for Trump to cut down on illegal immigration. The environmental hirings would make it difficult for Trump to reverse course on costly green energy and climate cult policies. According to Protect the Public’s Trust, “Until recently, antitrust enforcement was a relatively technical and non-partisan division. But the Biden-Harris administration’s increasingly aggressive implementation has sparked complaints of politicized enforcement.”
  • Sarah Palin vs. The New York Times, take two: Everyone knows The New York Times smeared former Alaska Governor and Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin when it falsely and irresponsibly implied that a pro-Palin ad was the inspiration for the 2011 Tucson murder of six people and the grave wounding of then-Democrat Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords by a mentally ill young man. But at trial in 2022, a jury sided with the Times, which was allowed to issue two corrections while its editorial board tweeted an apology to its readers. But a federal appeals court has revived Palin’s lawsuit. As The Wall Street Journal reports, the court ruled that a trial judge had “committed a series of errors in presiding over the former Republican vice-presidential candidate’s case.” Oops. However, as the Journal’s James Freeman writes, “Maybe the ‘oops defense’ really can’t protect the New York Times from the consequences of its editorial decisions. News consumers may have concluded that anything goes when media organizations employ unfair and false claims to smear conservative politicians. But accountability just might be staging a comeback.”

Security

  • FBI keeps pushing its bipartisan shooter narrative: Last month, we warned about Joe Biden’s FBI investigating the near-assassination of Donald Trump. And now, six weeks hence of July 13, our concerns have been validated, as the bureau continues to stonewall congressional investigators and drag its feet on finding a motive or sharing a profile of the would-be assassin. Recall that in the wee hours after the shooting, the FBI released the shooter’s name and told us that he was “a registered Republican.” And to balance that news, the bureau told us that the 20-year-old Thomas Crooks also gave $15 to a Democrat political action committee. Yesterday, we got more of the same. As the AP reports, the assailant “searched online for events of both Trump and President Joe Biden, looked up information about explosives over the last five years and eyed the Pennsylvania campaign rally where he opened fire last month as a ‘target of opportunity.’” Move along, folks. No Trump-deranged political motive to see here. At least not before the November 5 presidential election.

Economy

  • Car insurance costs soar: If you’ve gotten a sense in recent months that you’re paying a lot more to insure your teenager’s beater or your nifty new SUV, you’re not imagining things. As Fox Business reports, “A new report published by Insurify, an insurance comparison shopping site, shows the average U.S. rate for full auto insurance surged to $2,329 in the first half of 2024. That marks a 15% increase from 2023 and a stunning 48% spike when compared with 2021.” Ouch. The industry claims that it’s trying to offset underwriting losses thanks to inflation, the cost of repairs, and rising automobile prices. According to that report, there’s another familiar bogeyman: “unprecedented climate catastrophes that drive weather-related claims in states that haven’t historically seen as much of this type of damage.” Fox Business adds that the problem is far worse in certain states — such as California, Minnesota, and Missouri — where prices are projected to rise more than 50% this year.
  • Yelp hits Google with antitrust lawsuit (Axios)

Dumb & Dumber

  • CA homebuyer assistance for illegals: Illegal immigrants have effectively been rewarded for their lawlessness in sanctuary cities and states. But no state has rewarded this lawlessness more than California. Case in point: On Tuesday, the Golden State’s Democrat-dominated Senate passed AB 1840, a bill that requires the California Housing Finance Authority to include illegal immigrants’ applications in a taxpayer-funded program that gives first-time homebuyers up to $150,000 toward the purchase of a house. “I didn’t know it was possible to make the border crisis and the housing crisis worse with just one vote, but Democrats found a way,” said California Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher. “Giving taxpayer-funded housing subsidies to illegal immigrants will drive costs even higher and encourage more chaos at the border.” Governor Gavin Newsom has not weighed in on whether he will sign the bill.
  • California bans voter ID in local elections: Doubling down on California crazy, the state legislature has passed a bill banning local municipalities from adopting voter ID requirements for elections. California as a whole does not require an ID to vote, which makes any semblance of election integrity in the state a complete joke. Of course, this anti-ID position is heralded as preserving and promoting democracy. “An overwhelming body of evidence proves that voter ID laws only subvert voter turnout and create barriers to law-abiding voters,” the bill’s author, Democrat State Senator Dave Min, laughably asserted. “To register to vote in California, voters are already required to provide their driver’s license number, California identification number, or the last four digits of their social security number.” But California also infamously grants driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, so how exactly does that do anything to prevent noncitizens from voting? With terrible laws like this that undercut citizens’ faith in election outcomes, is it any wonder people are leaving the state in droves?
  • Disney doubling down on DEI: By now, Disney executives should have learned the lesson that “get woke, go broke” is not merely a catchphrase but a repeatedly demonstrated reality. The recent canceling of a second season of Disney’s Star Wars show “The Acolyte” due to abysmal viewership numbers is the latest example. Furthermore, there are recent examples of companies ditching DEI in the face of consumer backlash against this radical leftist and culturally toxic anti-capitalist and un-American agenda. But Disney evidently is committed to pushing DEI, as evidenced by a recent job posting that reads, “We’re seeking a Director of Strategic External Engagement — Enterprise DEI to lead our efforts in building strategic relationships with external stakeholders, driving community engagement, and generating valuable insights to support our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) objectives.” Disney is offering an annual salary that is up to four times the national average income — from $197,700 to $241,500. That’s a lot of money to push a radical leftist agenda that the vast majority of Americans reject. Will Hild, executive director of Consumers’ Research, observes that this irrational decision by Disney “tells you just how captured by the woke mind virus a once-great American company truly is.”

FEATURED ANALYSIS

The Story About Trump at Arlington Is a Distraction

Nate Jackson

If you believe that Donald Trump called American soldiers killed in Europe in World War I “suckers” and “losers,” boy, have NPR, The Washington Post, and The New York Times got a story for you.

Back in the 2020 presidential campaign, The Atlantic broke and the Leftmedia relentlessly churned a story about Trump’s alleged remarks. But as our Douglas Andrews wrote at the time, it was fake news. Leftmedia outlets still stand by it.

So, forgive me if I’m a bit skeptical of the 2024 version.

It began with an NPR story Tuesday alleging that Trump’s campaign staff “had a verbal and physical altercation Monday with an official at Arlington National Cemetery.” Trump attended a ceremony there that day honoring the 13 Americans killed by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s disastrous decision to surrender and retreat from Afghanistan.

Here’s the ever-so-trustworthy and totally-not-biased NPR:

A source with knowledge of the incident said the cemetery official tried to prevent Trump staffers from filming and photographing in a section where recent U.S. casualties are buried. The source said Arlington officials had made clear that only cemetery staff members would be authorized to take photographs or film in the area, known as Section 60.

When the cemetery official tried to prevent Trump campaign staff from entering Section 60, campaign staff verbally abused and pushed the official aside, according to the source.

You could almost hear editors in other Leftmedia newsrooms rub their hands with glee. Here was their golden opportunity to distract from what otherwise was a glaring reminder of the colossal Biden/Harris blunder, as well as Tim Walz’s continuing stolen valor saga. Besides, Democrats don’t enjoy wide support among the military rank and file, so demoralizing military voters with a negative story about Trump helps The Cause.

Some military personnel, Veterans, and their families may indeed be upset by the story. But it’s not as if military voters aren’t already demoralized by Team Biden/Harris/Walz.

I’m not saying Trump or his staffers were perfect angels or comported themselves fully with the dignified protocol of honoring fallen Armed Forces personnel. Maybe the “altercation” happened. Maybe it was also provoked by someone who doesn’t like Trump. How are we supposed to know the full truth when we can’t trust the media to report things honestly?

Indeed, the entire point of stories in The Washington PostThe New York Times, and a follow-up from NPR is pushing a theme: Trump and his staff are horrible people for exploiting military dead.

“Defense officials were concerned about the event Monday,” reports the Post, “because Republicans have frequently used the bombing, a low point of the Biden administration, as a political cudgel.” That’s right; Republicans are the problem, not the fact that the two most powerful Democrats are responsible for 13 American military deaths. Another reminder: Leftists have politicized almost literally everything, yet they claim that somehow this is out of bounds.

From the Times, we learn that Trump took pictures in front of the grave of a soldier whose family didn’t give permission — while standing for a picture with a family that did give permission. A “fact-check” at Snopes confirms that Trump was pictured at the cemetery giving a thumbs-up. And his campaign did, in fact, release a TikTok video with footage from the area in question, which the Post called “a flagrant violation of the law against partisan actions at military cemeteries.”

As with Trump’s recent Medal of Honor equivocation, those things aren’t commendable. They’re also vintage Trump, and most people know that. The guy routinely gives a thumbs-up for pictures — it’s a friendly and fun approach that endears him to supporters. He also tends to be generally irreverent. We’ve always wished he were more careful and thoughtful, but he’s just not. It’s what makes him so loved and so hated.

There’s also the noteworthy fact that family members of the 13 Americans killed on that fateful day in Afghanistan have confirmed that neither Biden nor Harris have ever reached out to them. Heck, Biden checked his watch multiple times in the receiving ceremonies for their remains.

Which is the greater faux pas? A former president visiting Arlington to honor the dead, or a sitting president ignoring the fallen — whose deaths he is responsible for?

By the way, the family members invited Trump to the Arlington ceremony, which is the first one there for these Americans in three years since their deaths. And without intervention from House Speaker Mike Johnson, Trump would not have been allowed to attend. Representative Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said he was contacted by Darin Hoover and Kelly Barnett, parents of SSGT Darin Taylor Hoover, saying that cemetery officials were making it difficult to coordinate allowing Trump’s entrance. McCaul passed it to Johnson, who intervened.

For their trouble, they get a spate of negative Leftmedia stories about Donald Trump. That only compounds their grief over their son’s death, which, again, is due to the malfeasance of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

“Staying away from the traditional venue for communication and scrutiny — that is, interactions with the press — has allowed Harris aides to float the idea that she has changed positions and moved to the center from her failed run for the Democratic nomination in 2019, when she was solidly in the progressive lane of the party. Who Is Running the Country? Joe Biden Lounges on the Beach as He Enjoys His Second Straight Week of Vacation on Taxpayer Dime (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

Who is running the country?

81-year-old Joe Biden has pretty much checked out since he dropped out of the 2024 presidential race on July 21 after Obama-Pelosi-Kamala forced him off the ballot in a coup.

Joe Biden lounged on the beach in Delaware, enjoying his endless vacation on taxpayer dime.

WATCH:

Joe Biden and his family on Sunday returned to Delaware after a weeklong vacation in Santa Barbara, California.

Biden arrived to Vandenberg Space Force Base and then boarded Air Force One en route to his Rehoboth Beach house in Delaware.

Joe Biden is spending another NINE DAYS on vacation at his Rehoboth Beach, Delaware house.

Biden has spent more than 40% of his presidency on vacation with no visitor logs.

American taxpayers are spending millions of dollars on planes, helicopters, motorcades and Secret Service to ferry Biden’s family of parasites all over the country on endless vacations.

Marine One costs approximately $20,000 per hour and Air Force One costs $177,843 per hour, according to Department of Defense documents. Biden’s frequent trips and vacations to Delaware have cost US taxpayers tens of millions of dollars.

Can We Entrust The Future Of This Country To Politicians That Are Constantly Flip-Flopping In A Desperate Attempt To Get Votes? | End Of The American Dream

How can we trust someone that will literally say anything to get elected?  Voters have come to tolerate a certain level of inconsistency in our politicians, but Kamala Harris is taking things to an entirely new level that we have never seen before.  She is disavowing a whole host of far-left positions that she previously deeply believed in, and she is trying to convince all of us that she is now a “moderate” that is deeply in touch with what the American people truly want.

Give me a break.

She doesn’t care about what the American people truly want.

All she cares about is getting elected.

This week, an Axios report that claims Kamala Harris is pledging “to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the wall along the southern border” has been getting a ton of attention…

If she’s elected president, Kamala Harris pledges to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the wall along the southern border — a project she once opposed and called “un-American” during the Trump administration.

Anybody that has any common sense realizes that Kamala Harris isn’t interested in spending money on that wall.

In fact, she once called that wall “un-American” and a “medieval vanity project”

Harris called it Trump’s “medieval vanity project” then and “un-American” in a 2018 social media post. She also posted in 2020 that “Trump’s border wall is a complete waste of taxpayer money and won’t make us any safer.”

But right now immigration is an issue that is really hurting her, and so she needs to look like she wants to do something about it.

Of course there are many that are seeing right through this obvious ploy to fool voters.  Here is just one example

I thought I was reading a headline from The Babylon Bee when I saw on Tuesday that Vice President Kamala Harris now wants to build the border wall.

But it wasn’t satire.

Rather, the Democratic presidential nominee has decided she supports one of former President Donald Trump’s signature ideas − and one despised by progressives.

Needless to say, this isn’t the only issue that Kamala Harris has flip-flopped on.

When she was running for president in 2020, Kamala Harris wanted to ban fracking, but now she is for it…

“There’s no question I’m in favor of banning fracking, I have a history of working on this issue,” Harris said in 2020.

Republicans, including former President Donald Trump, have used her past comments on the issue to blast her in several campaign ads since she launched her 2024 campaign.

But campaign officials for the Democratic nominee are now saying that Harris will not ban fracking if she’s elected president.

When she was running for president in 2020, Kamala Harris wanted to put all Americans on Medicare, but now she is against that…

Harris published a plan for “Medicare for All” during her 2019 presidential election, writing that her goal was to “end these senseless attacks on Obamacare” and that she believes “health care should be a right, not a privilege only for those who can afford it. It’s why we need Medicare for All.”

“The idea is that everyone gets access to medical care. And you don’t have to go through the process of going through an insurance company, having them give you approval, going through the paperwork all of the delay that may require. Let’s eliminate that,” Harris wrote in 2019.

When she was running for president in 2020, Kamala Harris proposed a mandatory buyback program for all semiautomatic rifles, but now she does not support that anymore…

Harris endorsed a mandatory buyback program for semiautomatic rifles during her first presidential campaign.

“We have to have a buyback program, and I support a mandatory gun buyback program,” Harris said at MSNBC’s Gun Safety Forum in October 2019. “It’s got to be smart, we got to do it the right way. But there are 5 million [assault weapons] at least, some estimate as many as 10 million, and we’re going to have smart public policy that’s about taking those off the streets, but doing it the right way.”

Whatever she has to do to win an election, that is what she will do.

How can we possibly ever trust someone like that?

Of course Donald Trump has not exactly been a model of consistency either.

Let’s be perfectly honest about that.

Since the last election, his position on abortion has shifted dramatically

The shock hasn’t worn off for pro-lifers, who continue to watch with dismay as Donald Trump and his Catholic running mate, Senator J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), seem to publicly disavow years of conservative principles on the unborn. Reaction is still pouring in over the former president’s tweet that his administration would be “great” for “reproductive rights,” a euphemism for abortion that many see as a devastating surrender in itself. It would be one thing, the editors of National Review wrote, “for a Republican candidate for national office to say that a federal law against abortion is unattainable, or even undesirable,” given the current political realities. But at this point, they continue, “pro-lifers have to wonder if there’s any difference left between the parties on abortion.”

Of course, as veterans of the movement know, the warning signs loomed large well before July’s Republican National Convention, when Trump’s inside circle hinted that abortion would no longer be an issue of common concern but a political inconvenience that the former president would try to avoid at all costs. The ensuing party platform cemented those fears, shredding paragraphs of pro-life vision and values in exchange for four sentences that promised merely to “oppose Late Term Abortion” and support mothers.

Trump realizes that most pro-lifers are going to vote for him no matter what, and so he is trying to win over more people in the middle.

But as I have warned my readers over and over again, if we do not end abortion we aren’t going to have a country.

I realize that this is a season when politicians in tight races all over the nation are absolutely desperate to win votes.

On Friday, we learned that Kamala Harris actually offered Cornel West a job in her administration if he would drop out of the race

Independent left-wing presidential candidate Dr. Cornel West told said Friday that Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign offered him a job in her potential administration, and to pay his campaign debts, if he dropped out of the 2024 race.

West made the stunning accusation after the close of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, in an interview with independent journalist Jordan Chariton on the Status Coup News podcast.

This sort of thing should be illegal.

Unfortunately, corruption has become deeply entrenched in our system, and that isn’t going to change any time soon.

Meanwhile, the political divisions in this country just continue to get deeper and deeper.  Just check out the results of one recent poll

The 2024 presidential election is just around the corner — and young employees are threatening to quit if their bosses express a political belief they disagree with.

In fact, a new poll found that nearly half of workers under 35 say they’d quit a job over political differences at work.

In an era of polarization, Americans have cut ties with partners, friends and even family members over political disagreements, but now it seems they’re even willing to leave a paycheck behind.

I have never seen anything like this before.

All over America, Democrats deeply hate Republicans and Republicans deeply hate Democrats.

Without a doubt, we are never going to agree on everything.

But we aren’t supposed to hate one another.

If we cannot learn how to love one another, we will eventually be consumed by our own hatred, and that is the truth.

Politico Got Owned by This Fact Check About Kamala Harris

(Matt Vespa – Townhall) JD Vance is torching the Harris-Walz campaign over this simple fact: they’re the incumbent party. It’s become a laughable exercise regarding how Harris’ campaign and the media treat her as if she isn’t in the White House right now. Every aspect of Harris’ agenda is Joe Biden’s; the reversals don’t count. We all know what type of politician Kamala Harris is at heart. Yet, the media is doing everything they can to make her not seem like she’s part of the current administration. The most brazen attempt was by Politico, which had this headline: “Our corrupt leadership’: Vance tries to tether Harris to Biden during Michigan rally.”

Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance started his Rust Belt sweep this week by attacking Vice President Kamala Harris’ record on the economy and pushing a message of protecting American jobs in the battleground state of Michigan — a key swing state that polls show Harris is leading in. View article →

Biden To Get Away From Pressures And Demands Of Beach With Brief Vacation To White House | Babylon Bee

Article Image

REHOBOTH BEACH, DE — Sources close to President Joe Biden report that he had recently decided to “take a break” from the pressures and demands of life on the beach by taking a brief vacation to the White House.

According to an anonymous staffer, the constant strain of lying on the beach had forced Biden to plan a quick weekend getaway in D.C., if only for the sake of his health.

“That’s right, Jack! I’m gonna take a vacruiblethahthe in the… you know, the place!” Biden reportedly shouted at a coatrack on his way out of the beach house. “We’ve got to beat Medicare! I mean, Obama… er, well… anyway. It’s too stressful out here — I’m always tired as he…heu…habsburigishtueisthe.”

Several members of Biden’s staff were said to be less than enthused to leave, however.

“I was kinda getting used to it out here, at least after the first four months,” said one Biden aide who asked to remain anonymous. “Are we going to have to use the leash now? It was so nice when he could just wander around aimlessly on the beach yelling at seagulls and knocking over our sandcastles. Do we have to go back to Washington?”

Biden did confirm that he would be going right back to the important work of lazing around the beach as soon as possible, right after a brief pit-stop in the Oval Office.

At publishing time, Biden had asked the Secret Service if the presidential motorcade could stop for ice cream on the way to the White House.

Tim Walz Spends Entire CNN Interview Making Balloon Animals To Distract Attention From Kamala Harris | Babylon Bee

SAVANNAH, GA — All three and a half minutes of leaked footage from CNN’s pre-recorded interview with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz broke the internet this morning, revealing that Walz spent the entire duration of the interview making balloon animals to distract the interviewer from Kamala Harris.

The video showed Walz furiously constructing elaborate animal shapes out of balloons in a desperate attempt to avoid having Harris answer any questions.

“Oh, look, here’s another one!” Walz desperately shouted around two minutes into the interview. “Hey, eyes on me, eyes on me! I have a balloon! It’s an ELEPHANT and it’s RED! No… quit looking at her — it’s me. I can do a platypus, too! Don’t you want to see a balloon platypus?”

The tactic seemed to have successfully kept CNN interviewer Dana Bash from asking any questions of Harris due to being magnetically drawn to Walz’s antics every time she would start a question.

“Vice President Harris, the economy and border are… what’s that, Governor Walz? Whoaaaaaa!” CNN anchor Dana Bash said. “Wait — is that a stegosaurus?! How do you even make those?”

While conservative political commentators have attacked the leaked interview as a “joke softball pillow fight,” the Harris/Walz campaign reportedly breathed a sigh of relief after seeing the footage.

“Wait, that’s it? No other gaffes? And she didn’t even cackle?” asked campaign staffer Gayle Quimbly. “Thank God!”

At publishing time, attendance at Harris rallies was expected to see a sharp increase into triple digits after Tim Walz promised to show off his balloon animal skills to anyone who could sit through an entire Kamala speech.

Politics Discerned Differently Episode 5

In this fifth episode of the special eight-episode series called ‘Politics discerned differently,’ Dr. Mark Turman is joined by Micah Tomasella to discuss the complex relationship between faith and politics, particularly in the context of families, churches, and society at large. They explore how political issues have become increasingly divisive within families and church communities, especially over the past decade.

The conversation touches on historical and cultural factors that have contributed to the rise of Christian nationalism and the blending of faith with politics. They emphasize the importance of keeping politics in its proper place, not allowing it to overshadow one’s faith or become an idol.

The discussion also covers the role of the church in guiding believers through political engagement, encouraging them to prioritize their faith and witness for Christ over political affiliations.
