WRETCHED TV episode 2459
Segment 1: Introduction and Types of Heretics Todd Friel introduces the topic of identifying false teachers, emphasizing the importance of distinguishing between formal and material heretics. A formal heretic knowingly teaches false doctrines for personal gain, while a material heretic is simply ignorant of their errors. Friel explains that heresy involves teaching something that deviates from essential Christian beliefs, particularly on fundamental issues like the Five Solas.
Segment 2: Seven Marks of a False Teacher Friel begins outlining the seven characteristics of a false teacher, according to Thomas Brooks. The first mark is that false teachers are “men-pleasers,” often engaging in ear-tickling behavior to gain popularity. Friel warns that not every pastor who exhibits some of these behaviors is necessarily a formal heretic, as it requires discernment to judge the intent and persistence of the individual.
Segment 3: Further Characteristics and the Art of Discernment Continuing with Brooks’ list, Friel discusses additional characteristics, such as false teachers’ tendency to undermine the credibility of faithful pastors, rely on personal visions, and focus on trivial matters rather than the weighty truths of the Gospel. He emphasizes the need for careful discernment, as some pastors may unknowingly err without being formal heretics.
Segment 4: Conclusion and Four Principles for Discernment Friel concludes by offering four guiding principles to help Christians discern false teachers. He advises developing a thorough understanding of Scripture before making judgments, emphasizing that new believers should focus on growing in faith rather than hunting for heresy. This balanced approach aims to prevent wrongful accusations and ensure that genuine false teachings are properly addressed.
7 Marks of a False Teacher
Some of you may recall that two decades ago there was a growing movement afoot that was “rethinking Christianity against the backdrop of postmodernism” (skepticism, subjectivism, moral relativism). Progressive/liberal enlightened “Christians” who were “rethinking Christianity” and believed there was a need for a “new kind of Christianity” were drawn to the movement. Most of them had a low view of the Bible and a high view of social activism, i.e. social justice. The movement became the Emergent or Emerging Church.
The Emergent Church (EC) was all about emerging away from orthodox biblical Christianity. Their agenda: Re-think…re-imagine…re-envision…re-shape the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Skipping ahead, after over two decades, the EC have spread their spiritual cancer globally. These changelings claimed that their hope was to bring a “message of peace” that would make Christianity more palatable to the world. But because the Holy Spirit would never bring a message of hope from false teachers who are in deep sin, we can conclude that the Third Person of the Trinity played no part in the EC’s lofty endeavor. Even so, enlightened EC change agents had great success. And without much blowback from the orthodoxy, the EC managed to make inroads into every aspect of the visible Church. In so doing they have introduced that “new kind of Christianity” they envisioned.
Emergents also tossed out the biblical Gospel of Jesus Christ along the way, cunningly distorting it (I hear the hiss of the snake) and replacing it with the social justice gospel…which is no gospel at all (Galatians 1:7).
In his 8-part essay on Emerging Church, Scott Diekmann sums it up this way:
Sleuths With No Names
Apprising Ministries was one of the first discernment blogs to report on the EC movement. The owner of AM, Ken Silva, put together a group of sleuths (who shall remain nameless) that worked behind the scenes to gather info on unbiblical movements that were springing up globally. The sleuths also exposed false teaching and the leaders who spread the poisonous teaching. Ken had no qualms about exposing wolves in sheep’s clothing…by name. Yes, Ken named names. Ken’s style was to expose the varmints, tell it like it is, lightly sprinkled with snark.
When Ken and I first met he was spending much of his time blogging on EC leaders and naming names. Back then the poison spreaders of neo-postmodernism engaged in a mystical form of Christianity called spiritual formation – a set of “spiritual disciplines” (not defined in Scripture) to help practitioners be more like Jesus. Two highly regarded EC leaders in the movement were Dallas Willard and Richard Foster. Ken dubbed them the “spiritual twins.” He held the twins’ feet to the fire for encouraging extrabiblical spiritual practices (borrowed from Roman Catholic priests who learned from Buddhist monks) such as lectio divina, the silence, yoga, and contemplative prayer (listening/centering/breath prayer). Sadly, undiscerning Christians are involved in RCC mysticism!
So – now that I’ve laid the groundwork, I want to share an excerpt from Ken’s piece Do Not Be Unequally Yoked With Unbelievers under the heading So What Does A Believer Have In Common With An Unbeliever? Here’s Ken’s response:
I need to be as clear as polished glass. Those who have a fascination with the esoteric or secret knowledge for the purpose of becoming a more spiritual being are in the realm of Gnosticism. Having extra biblical knowledge that no one else has doesn’t bring a person one millimeter closer to God. Just the opposite is true. So anyone (Christian, I’m looking at you) who desires to draw closer to God must spend time reading/studying the Bible.
Why?
Because it contains God’s revelation of Himself. The Lord Jesus validated the authority of Scripture by saying “It is written” (Matthew 4:1–11).
A Hypocritical Faith
Now to Henry Cloud’s concern with the hypocrisy among emergents in Emergent Christian Hypocrisy:
Later Cloud writes…
Warning!
Ken Silva liked to refer to the EC as an ecumenical neo-liberal cult. But was it a cult? Until his death in 1989 conservative Christian apologist Walter Martin was a major player in the countercult movement. Dr Martin became well-known through The Bible Answer Man radio broadcast. Following is how he defined a cult:
Rebellion Against God
Ken Silva believed EC was a cult for the reasons Dr. Martin gave. Thus, he continually called them out:
Moving on to a quote from an anonymous source that shared his (or her) vision some years ago of the kind of community he wished to be a part of:
This person’s vision spread through the visible Church, orthodox seminaries and Bible colleges like a firestorm caused by a lightning bolt touching the ground in an Oregon forest, as professing Christians became enamored with Eastern mysticism and New Age spirituality. Many believers jumped headfirst into monastic practices taught by Catholic priests for the purpose of promoting communion with God despite the fact that the Bible teaches that Christians imitating pagans is taboo. Even so, following in the footsteps of apostate Rome and doing what God expressly forbids, is a growing trend in the Christian community.
The vision from God the emergents laid hold of didn’t come to them through the Holy Spirit inspired scriptures. The postmodern gospel is certainly not the authentic gospel narrative we find in God’s Word. No. The EC gospel takes our focus off the Lord Jesus and shifts it to sinful man, thus making it man-centered. The gospel of Self (self-esteem, self-worth, me, myself and I) as well as one’s personal experience with God replaces the Gospel of Grace.
Moreover, emergents embrace the principles of social justice, liberation theology and collective salvation. Some of them even incorporate elements of universalism.
Naming Names
Besides “spiritual twins” Dallas Willard and Richard Foster there are many other EC leaders who’s names you may recognize: Brian McLaren, Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, Donald Whitney, Tony Jones, Doug Pagitt, Phyllis Tickle, Marcus Borg, Leonard Sweet, Bob Buford, Brennon Manning, Eugene Peterson, Donald Miller, Rob Bell, Erwin McManus, Jim Wallis, Tony Campolo, Richard Rohr, Andy Stanley, John Ortberg, Frank Viola, Laurie Beth Jones, Ruth Haley Barton, Rachel Held Evans, Shane Claiborn, Dan Kimball, Shane Hipps, Diana Butler Bass, Spencer Burke, Peter Rollins, Steve Chalke, Nadia Bolz-Weber, Jay Bakker, Jen Hatmaker, Karen Ward, Joel McClure, Dieter Xander and many others.
Where are they now? Several have died, even prematurely. Only a few have retained their celebrity status. Hardly any of them are best-selling authors, nor are they invited to speak at faith-based events.
In the past few years the EC has shifted into a new or neo mode, making the Neo-Emergent movement appealing to a whole new audience of young Christians who straight-out reject the authority of Scripture. I addressed this in Emergent Church Spreading Spiritual Cancer in a column I wrote in 2008:
Let me be clear. Progressive evangelical leaders are pressing many believers into rank heresy which is a serious threat to the visible Church! The threat shouldn’t be taken lightly or tolerated. The cults and counterfeit movements such as EC must be thoroughly understood and debunked. Bible believing Christians must expose those who dwell in darkness and call out the villains by name:
In closing…
Protestia is one of the first polemics news/discernment sites whose conservative Protestant editors and writers have garnered a lot of attention (and push back) for over a decade. I’ll close with a quote from editor David Morrill – David, you took the words right out of my mouth:

Pause, my soul, over this sweet scripture, and these sweet words of thy Lord! Look at Jesus, even thy Jesus, who, in the services of mediator, as God’s servant, had work to do in his day, as thou hast in thine. And oh! what a day was his! Every portion of it filled with good! Now, my soul, the night of this present day is come; and the night of the whole day of thy life upon earth will shortly follow; it may be this very night: for nearly as the month is ended, thy life may end before it: and if not this very night, it cannot be far off, and may be near indeed. How then stands thy great account? Take down thy memorandums, as merchants do their ledger at certain seasons to ascertain their stock. Hath Jesus filled up every page? Hast thou the several items of his grace, and love, and bounty? Canst thou tell of him that sent thee into the world, as he saith his Father sent him? (John 17:18.) Canst thou call to mind, from the first Bethel-visit of his love to the present hour, how he hath borne thee, and carried thee as on eagles’ wings? And though it would tire the arm of an angel to write down the vast account of his mercy and grace, and in thy poor forgetful heart, thousands, and ten thousands of instances have passed away, like traces on the water, and thou canst remember them no more, yet in looking back upon the whole, canst thou say, “Jesus is mine, and I am his?” Oh! the unspeakable felicity of thy summing up months, and days, and years, when the night cometh that no man can work. Precious Lord Jesus! thou hast indeed done all for me, and wrought all in me; thou hast made, and thou dost bear. It is thou that formed me from the womb, and now hast made me in thyself: thou hast redeemed me, and washed me from my sins in thy blood; borne with me in all my unworthiness, and carried me in all my sorrows! Into thy gracious hands, Lord, I desire to fall this night, and every night, and in the night of death; under the blessed assurance, that “when my heart shall faint, and my strength shall fail, thou wilt be the strength of my heart and my portion for ever.” Amen.1

Life is a precious thing, and in its humblest form it is superior to death. This truth is eminently certain in spiritual things. It is better to be the least in the kingdom of heaven than the greatest out of it. The lowest degree of grace is superior to the noblest development of unregenerate nature. Where the Holy Ghost implants divine life in the soul, there is a precious deposit which none of the refinements of education can equal. The thief on the cross excels Caesar on his throne; Lazarus among the dogs is better than Cicero among the senators; and the most unlettered Christian is in the sight of God superior to Plato. Life is the badge of nobility in the realm of spiritual things, and men without it are only coarser or finer specimens of the same lifeless material, needing to be quickened, for they are dead in trespasses and sins.
A living, loving, gospel sermon, however unlearned in matter and uncouth in style, is better than the finest discourse devoid of unction and power. A living dog keeps better watch than a dead lion, and is of more service to his master; and so the poorest spiritual preacher is infinitely to be preferred to the exquisite orator who has no wisdom but that of words, no energy but that of sound. The like holds good of our prayers and other religious exercises; if we are quickened in them by the Holy Spirit, they are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ, though we may think them to be worthless things; while our grand performances in which our hearts were absent, like dead lions, are mere carrion in the sight of the living God. O for living groans, living sighs, living despondencies, rather than lifeless songs and dead calms. Better anything than death. The snarlings of the dog of hell will at least keep us awake, but dead faith and dead profession, what greater curses can a man have? Quicken us, quicken us, O Lord!1
1 Spurgeon, C. H. (1896). Morning and evening: Daily readings. Passmore & Alabaster.
AND when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
24–26 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things. The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him? But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
Thus were they taken in their own craftiness and utterly silenced.
28 ¶ But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
29–32 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him. (This was a home thrust, and right well deserved by them. It may also be a lesson to us if we see great sinners converted while we ourselves remain undecided. Is there one of us in this condition?)
33 ¶ Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
34, 35 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
38, 39 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
42–43 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. (If we oppose the Saviour we shall hurt only ourselves, but if we provoke him to punish us we shall be crushed as completely as if a huge rock had rolled upon us. Who will dare to be at enmity with Jesus?)
45, 46 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them. But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
Lo, the stone which once aside
By the builder’s hand was thrown,
See it now the building’s pride,
See it now the corner stone!
Lo, we hail Jehovah’s deed,
Strange and wondrous in our eyes!
Jesus Christ is Lord decreed,
Bid the voice of gladness rise.1

TODAY’S BIBLE READING CHALLENGE:
Isaiah 66:1-24
Philippians 3:4-21
Psalm 74:1-23
Proverbs 24:15-16
Isaiah 66:1 — This verse was one of the last words of Stephen (Acts 7:49) and was the transition from narrating the history of Israel to condemning his accusers. Isaiah has been the voice of the LORD rejecting the religious practices of His people:
Isaiah 66:22-24 — Wow! Isaiah concludes with a stark contrast. The redeemed of the LORD will dwell in the new heavens and the new earth, and the worm shall not die and the fire will not be quenched for the men that transgress against the LORD (Mark 9:44, 46, 48). From GotQuestions.org:
Mark 9:48 does not mean that there are literal worms in hell or that there are worms that live forever; rather, Jesus is teaching the fact of unending suffering in hell—the “worm” never stops causing torment. Notice that the worm is personal. Both Isaiah 66:24 and Mark 9:48 use the word their to identify the worm’s owner. The sources of torment are attached each to its own host.
Some Bible scholars believe the “worm” refers to a man’s conscience. Those in hell, being completely cut off from God, exist with a nagging, guilty conscience that, like a persistent worm, gnaws away at its victim with a remorse that can never be mitigated. No matter what the word worm refers to, the most important thing to be gained from these words of Christ is that we should do everything in our power to escape the horrors of hell, and there is only one thing to that end—receiving Jesus as the Lord of our lives (John 3:16).
Philippians 3:8 — Paul recognizes the truth of Isaiah: God doesn’t care what religious credentials we have. No matter if we’ve been circumcised the eight day, a Pharisee, a Hebrew of the Hebrews, Paul declares that it all is dung, echoing Malachi 2:3. Now there is a trend among the cool theologians of today to say that Paul really said a more vulgar version of the word dung, but Gary Manning Jr. debunks that myth quite clearly:
Paul was not alone in using σκύβαλα as a metaphor for something worthless in the moral or religious realm. Philo and Sirach both used σκύβαλα to describe undesirable qualities that should be abandoned. Paul’s interesting, and somewhat different, use of the word is to say that his desirable religious credentials (circumcision, pedigree, Pharisaism, zeal, obedience to the Law) were σκύβαλα – worthless waste – in comparison to knowing Jesus (Phil 3:4-8).
https://www.biola.edu/blogs/good-book-blog/2015/did-the-apostle-paul-use-profanity
Philippians 3:9 — Paul said his righteousness of the Law was dung. It was worthless because it was powerless. Now, the righteousness of Christ was powerful (Philippians 3:10); it is priceless (not worthless) because it is so powerful. It is so powerful that it can defeat death (Philippians 3:11)!
Philippians 3:12 — Jesus caught Paul, now Paul is trying to catch Jesus. Notice that Paul hasn’t apprehended (entire sanctification) Him yet and won’t until glorification (Philippians 3:11).
Philippians 3:14 — May this be our goal in life as well. May we not seek the prize of an Olympic gold medal, or a Super Bowl ring, or a Fantasy Football championship, with the same intensity as the high calling of God in Christ Jesus! What a day that will be (Philippians 3:21)!
Psalm 74:18 — What does God say about His name? There are 90 references in the Old Testament to “My Name“. What does God think about people who misuse His Name?
Proverbs 24:16 — Endurance is the mark of a just man. Don’t stop! Don’t Quit! Sounds a lot like Philippians 3:14!

The Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.Deuteronomy 31:8
In the presence of a great work or a great warfare, here is a text which should help us to buckle on our harness. If Jehovah Himself goes before us, it must be safe to follow. Who can obstruct our progress if the Lord Himself is in the van? Come, brother soldiers, let us make a prompt advance! Why do we hesitate to pass on to victory?
Nor is the Lord before us only; He is with us. Above, beneath, around, within is the omnipotent, omnipresent One. In all time, even to eternity, He will be with us even as He has been. How this should nerve our arm! Dash at it boldly, ye soldiers of the cross, for the Lord of hosts is with us!
Being before us and with us, He will never withdraw His help. He cannot fail in Himself, and He will not fail toward us. He will continue to help us according to our need, even to the end. As He cannot fail us, so He will not forsake us. He will always be both able and willing to grant us strength and succor till fighting days are gone.
Let us not fear nor be dismayed; for the Lord of hosts will go down to the battle with us, will bear the brunt of the fight, and give us the victory.

Israel: West Nile virus found in Eilat; cases since June at 916, with 71 deaths
Infected mosquitoes transmit the virus to humans. About 80% of people infected show no symptoms. About 20% may experience varying symptoms, including fever, headaches, and body aches. Less than 1% will have possible rare complications such as acute inflammation of the brain or meningitis. The risk of significant illness is higher among the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.
West Nile Virus is also in U.S. news this week in humans and animals, with some deaths reported.
Mosquito season is not over until a hard frost occurs. A West Nile virus vaccine is years away.

Huge number of migrant criminals released into the U.S. proves Democrats clearly don’t care.
Over 13,000 murderers, over 15,000 dangerous sexual offenders, and over 425,000 other dangerous criminals were let into America after crossing in illegally. These are ones they know about. What about known (and unknown) ‘gotaways’? Why haven’t they focused on finding over 300,000 known children who’ve disappeared through the immigration system? Why haven’t Kamala, Joe, and other Democrats said anything about the children who are probably being exploited? The media and other Democrats should stop pretending that they’re empathetic. The only thing they care about is power.

In June 2015, Donald Trump descended that Trump Tower escalator and announced his first presidential bid. In his remarks, he made the infamous comment about Mexico “not sending their best” people here. Here’s the really “bad” part: “They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with [them]. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”
Leftists went into hysterics, calling him racist and xenophobic. But he was right.
He wasn’t making a literal statement about every person who crosses our southern border but a general observation about some of the people. Leftists took him hyper-literally in order to smear him rather than admit the border was a problem. It’s a huge problem, as evidenced by a new report on criminal statistics among illegal border crossers. I’ll get back to that in a minute.
Here we are in 2024, nearly four years into the intentional invasion crafted by Joe Biden and Border Czar Kamala Harris. To address this crisis, she spent 20 minutes Friday visiting the border to pretend (A) that she cares and (B) that she has nothing to do with it. CNN analyst Scott Jennings gets it, saying of Harris’s trip, “Arsonist returns to scene of crime.” Worse, it’s like an arsonist insisting that a house would be safer with kindling stuffed in the crawl space.
Instead, Harris incredibly insists, it’s Trump’s fault. “In the four years that Donald Trump was president,” she claimed, “he did nothing to fix our broken immigration system.” Roughly three million illegals crossed during Trump’s term, compared to at least 10 million during Harris’s — after she and Biden undid all of Trump’s successful policies. Nevertheless, she insisted he’s a horrible human being: “He separated families, he ripped toddlers out of their mothers’ arms, put children in cages, and tried to end protections for Dreamers.”
That’s all either flagrantly false or a gross exaggeration to the point of falsehood.
She also repeated the lie that Trump “tanked” the bad immigration bill in Congress earlier this year. That legislation was a cynical game for Democrats. They filled it with open-border poison pills to provoke Republicans to vote against it so that Democrats could then blame Republicans for the Biden/Harris border crisis.
So what will Harris do when (ahem) she’s in charge? “The United States is a sovereign nation, and I believe we have a duty to set rules at our border and to enforce them,” she later added at a rally. “And I take that responsibility very seriously.”
Her nearly four-year record as vice president says otherwise.
If elected, she promises to be tough, though. She aims to “reduce illegal border crossings” and ensure that those who do cross “will be apprehended and removed and barred from reentering for five years.” How about starting that TODAY?
What about those who broke the law and evaded detention or deportation for a long time? She wants “a pathway to citizenship” for them. She also wants a bigger and easier path for more asylum claims.
So, back to the question of Trump’s characterization of who’s coming in.
ICE Deputy Director Patrick Lechleitner sent a letter to Texas Republican Representative Tony Gonzalez with some eye-popping statistics about illegal alien crime. Gonzalez posted that letter Friday.
“As of July 21, 2024,” Lechleitner wrote, “there were 662,566 noncitizens with criminal histories on ICE’s national docket, which includes those detained by ICE, and on the agency’s non-detained docket. Of those, 435,719 are convicted criminals, and 226,847 have pending criminal charges.” He included a chart to illustrate.
Fox News summarizes that chart: “Those include 62,231 convicted of assault, 14,301 convicted of burglary, 56,533 with drug convictions and 13,099 convicted of homicide. An additional 2,521 have kidnapping convictions and 15,811 have sexual assault convictions. There are an additional 1,845 with pending homicide charges, 42,915 with assault charges, 3,266 with burglary charges and 4,250 with assault charges.”
The timeframe of crime and border crossing isn’t clear. What is clear is that a huge number of crimes — this is a key point — would not have happened if the illegal alien perpetrator were not in the United States in the first place. Every person who crosses the border illegally has committed a crime. Far too many of them end up doing worse once they get here.
Harris speaks with more conviction about abortion than any other issue, demanding the unfettered “right” to kill unborn children, especially in cases of rape and incest. Yet her administration allowed millions of illegal aliens into the country, some number of whom are charged with nearly 16,000 instances of sexual assault. Thousands of American women — citizens — have been subjected to unspeakable crimes at the hands of illegals. Border Czar Kamala Harris opened the border and apparently thinks they’ll all be fine if only they can abort any resulting children.
More than 13,000 murders were committed by illegals. Many of those victims would be alive today were it not for Harris’s bloody border policies.
“It may be shocking to hear that the Biden-Harris administration is actively releasing tens of thousands of criminal illegal aliens into our communities, but their own numbers conclusively prove this to be the case. This defies all common sense,” noted House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green. “Under President Biden and his ‘border czar,’ Vice President Harris, DHS law enforcement has been directed to mass-release illegal aliens whom they know have criminal convictions or are facing charges for serious crimes — and these dangerous, destructive individuals are making their way into every city and state in this country. How many more Americans need to die or be victimized before this administration is forced to abide by the laws they swore to uphold? This is madness. It is something no civilized, well-functioning society should tolerate.”

“[‘Basket of deplorables’] was an unfortunate choice of words and bad politics, but it also got at an important truth. Just look at everything that has happened in the years since, from Charlottesville to Jan. 6. The masks have come off, and if anything, ‘deplorable’ is too kind a word for the hate and violent extremism we’ve seen from some Trump supporters.” —Hillary Clinton
For the Record
“Unless and until [Mark] Zuckerberg embraces an Elon Musk-like devotion to free speech, there is no reason to trust him or his company. He can become apolitical all he wants, but if Facebook is still suppressing the free speech of anyone to the right of Karl Marx, then it’s nothing more than virtue signaling meant to shore up some problematic business trends.” —Nate Jackson
“It is always confusing to me when someone writes to complain that the Electoral College doesn’t align with the ‘popular vote,’ as if this wasn’t the entire point of the enterprise. If the two always harmonized, we wouldn’t need it.” —David Harsanyi
“The Supreme Court is perhaps the only institution inhibiting state overreach these days, which is why Democrats have been busy delegitimizing and now want to pack the court and transform it into another malleable partisan institution.” —David Harsanyi
“Democrats want to get rid of the Electoral College so that a few giant urban areas can run the executive branch. They want to get rid of the filibuster so they can unilaterally transform the nation. When they don’t have congressional majorities, they want (their) presidents to rule by fiat. And many now want to pack the Supreme Court to make sure no one will stop them.” —David Harsanyi
“Hezbollah doesn’t exist to make friends. It exists to destroy Israel and America. It’s an Iranian asset in a strategic location meant to deter Israel from attacking Iran’s nuclear program. Lebanon’s central government is either uninterested or incapable of challenging Syria and Iran. And the U.N. is worse than useless.” —Matthew Continetti
“Rather than building sandcastles with his friends in the U.N., President Biden could try applying to our besieged ally in the Middle East the same rhetorical and material support he bestows on Ukraine. But that is not the president we have. Biden’s policy of escalation management has produced expanding circles of ruin from Kiev to the Gulf of Aden.” —Matthew Continetti

The Democrats love to talk about how Hillary and Biden won the popular vote, but what they likely won’t talk about is how their party’s popularity has fallen off a cliff during Biden’s presidency.

Vice President Kamala Harris is facing intense scrutiny — not from the establishment media, but from Americans on social media — for her lackluster response to the damage inflicted on several states due to Hurricane Helene.

President Trump received a briefing on Hurricane Helene this morning and is scheduled to speak to the press at 2 pm ET.
Watch live below.
Over 100 people have reportedly died in the hurricane’s more than 500-mile path of destruction across multiple states in the Southeast region.
Here’s a look at some of the damage inflicted by Hurricane Helene via AJ Huber on X:
BREAKING: President Trump just announced a visit to Valdosta, Georgia to distribute relief supplies in the wake of Hurricane Helene and deliver remarks to the press. Some ask where is Trump? He’s helping the people even before he got elected! Where is Kamala? Where is Biden? pic.twitter.com/gNBTntTQRE

The Gateway Pundit reported earlier that President Trump is being debriefed and speaking to the press in Georgia while Kamala Harris, the so-called Vice President, pretends to be “in constant contact with state and local officials to ensure communities have the support and resources they need.” By the way, where the hell is Joe Biden? Is he still the President?
After a closer look at the photo Kamala Harris posted to millions of Americans on X, claiming she’s speaking to FEMA and Governors of impacted states, anyone can see that the headphones she’s wearing aren’t even plugged into her phone as she purports to take notes on her so-called briefing. She’s not speaking to anyone!
President Trump posted on Truth Social at 11:42 am ET:
We are now heading to Valdosta, Georgia, in order to pay my respects and bring lots of relief material, including fuel, equipment, water, and other things, to the State. Many politicians and Law Enforcement will be there. We’ll be saying hello to Franklin Graham, Burt Jones, Tyler Harper, Mike Collins, Austin Scott, Russ Goodman, Sam Watson, and the Mayor of Valdosta Scott James. They are working very hard. I was also going to stop into North Carolina, which has really been hit hard. I have a lot of supplies ready for them, but access and communication is now restricted, and we want to make sure that Local Emergency Management is able to focus on helping the people most affected, and not being concerned with me. I’ll be there shortly, but don’t like the reports that I’m getting about the Federal Government, and the Democrat Governor of the State, going out of their way to not help people in Republican areas. MAGA!
President Trump also told the press earlier, “The federal government is not being responsive.” He continued, “They’re having a very hard time getting the President on the phone; he won’t get on, and of course, the Vice President, she’s out someplace campaigning, looking for money.”
“They’re being very nonresponsive,” Trump said.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been importing an astonishing number of third-world Haitians into the country. That’s right. The administration has been actively arranging and paying for Haitian “migrants” to fly into the U.S. More on this below, but first, we need to prepare the ground.
It’s astonishing reading news articles in 2024 to prepare for an article like this one you’re reading on Wokespy. Yours truly was a working newspaper reporter about 25 years ago during the very last period in which news organizations still believed, at least partially, in reporting the facts, not editorializing with a political slant. Not so now. In preparing another article about the allegations by Springfield, Ohio residents who claim Haitians are stealing ducks and geese (and household pets) from local parks and neighborhoods, I could not find one story that didn’t sound like a press release from the Democratic National Committee.
Every single headline and lead sentence said something like, “Vance and Trump repeat baseless claims,” or “Vance claims cats getting eaten without evidence.” There’s a big problem: these claims are not baseless, and it is not true that there is “no evidence.” There is plenty of evidence, and it is the same kind of evidence introduced in actual court proceedings: eyewitness testimony and police reports.

Yet even liberal mainstream media cannot deny every fact. Take this article from Newsweek. The angle is to big up the Biden administration, and Kamala Harris, for an alleged 70 percent drop in illegal border crossings recently. But read carefully. The drop only came after Biden was forced to take action after pressure from Republicans furious at the millions of illegals the administration is welcoming into the U.S. with no vetting. And the drop wouldn’t have been so large in percentage terms if the Biden-Harris admin didn’t let border crossings explode in the first place.
Buried deep in the Newsweek article is this bit of truth. It’s a quote from Customs and Border Patrol: “Through the end of August 2024, nearly 530,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans arrived lawfully on commercial flights and were granted parole under these processes.”
That’s right. Half a million “migrants” “arrived lawfully” on “commercial flights.” Half a million got a free plane ticket to the U.S. Does any of this sound sane?
There’s another way to look at the numbers that may wake some people up to what’s going on. X (Twitter) user “datahazard” has compiled a chart showing the percentage of each foreign country’s population that has been whisked into the United States.

We’ve brought in six percent of the populations of Nicaragua, Cuba, and Honduras, plus four percent of Haiti’s population… To check out the rest of this story, visit WokeSpy.

A new study claims to expose the true “consequences of anti-biblical worldview,” finding a refusal or inability to see the effects of harmful beliefs could lead to serious issues.

According to Dr. George Barna of the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, hundreds of thousands of people seeking mental health assistance and medications could be simply “treating the wrong problem.”
The analysis comes at an interesting time, as it’s no secret Americans are struggling with mental health issues, with 23% of adults suffering from some related ailment.
And the statistics are even more disturbing among young Americans. Just consider: 33% of Millennials and Gen Zers are estimated to have “one or more diagnosable mental disorders,” according to Barna.
With these statistics in mind, Barna proclaims in his most recent research that depression, fear, and anxiety issues might be rooted in something deeper. The researcher was careful to note not all mental health problems are caused by worldview matters, though he explained how various perspectives could potentially impact such issues.
“The research instead indicates that those are often symptoms of an unhealthy worldview that
produces and reinforces the emergence of anxiety, depression, fear, and even suicidal thoughts,” the results read. “Instead of turning to mental health treatments, the best prescription for millions of Americans is to embrace a more reliable and proven worldview.”
Ultimately, Barna, who uses data from the American Worldview Inventory conducted by the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, argues in his latest research that “worldview is … party responsible for mental health.”
He found something quite fascinating: “Individuals who lack a biblical worldview are more likely to struggle with” issues, including “frequent presence of anxiety, depression, or significant fear.”
Barna found that 56% of Gen Z reported experiencing regular battles with anxiety, fear, or depression in the past year. Unsurprisingly, this generation has the lowest prevalence of biblical worldview.
And other young generations are experiencing similar patterns.
“Roughly half of Millennials (49%) have frequently entertained anxiety, depression, or major episodes of
fear, while only 2% of that generation holds a biblical worldview,” Barna’s report reads.
Beyond that, Barna’s research determined some common beliefs the researcher said can produce frequent battles with anxiety, depression, or fear.
These issues “conflict with biblical teachings” and focus on a number of factors, including a rejection or apathy toward God, feeling no purpose in life, and the rejection of absolute morality and truth, among others.
These beliefs, among others, contribute to some of the aforementioned issues. However, gratitude and acknowledgment of God seem to be some of the most important factors at play.
“Individuals who are less likely to suffer from those challenges are substantially more likely to consciously make time to thank, praise, and worship God every day, to attend church services every week; and to commit to knowing and doing God’s will each day,” the report reads.
Ultimately, Barna said people shouldn’t dismiss mental health issues or treatments, but that the research raises some important issues about how worldview can impact human beings.
“This research does raise the possibility that there are also situations where a patient suffering from a
psychological or emotional disorder attributable to worldview components that trigger and sustain the
condition,” he said.
