Ver. 5.—If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me. If you have no sense of justice, and are disinclined to pay any heed to my expostulations; if you intend still to insist on magnifying yourselves against me and bringing up against me my “reproach;” then let me make appeal to your pity. Consider my whole condition—how I stand with God, who persecutes me and “destroys” me (ver. 10); how I stand with my relatives and such other friends as I have beside yourselves, who disclaim, and forsake me (vers. 13–19); and how I am conditioned with respect to my body, emaciated and on the verge of death (ver. 20); and then, if neither your friendship nor your sense of justice will induce you to abstain from persecuting me, abstain at any rate for pity’s sake (ver. 21). And plead against me my reproach. Job’s special “reproach” was that God had laid his hand upon him. This was a manifest fact, and could not be denied. His “comforters” concluded from it that he was a monster of wickedness.1

TODAY’S BIBLE READING CHALLENGE:
Isaiah 1:1-2:22
2 Corinthians 10:1-18
Psalm 52:1-9
Proverbs 22:26-27
Isaiah 1:1 — We begin the prophet Isaiah! Explore the Great Isaiah Scroll – the most significant of the Dead Sea Scrolls:
Isaiah 1:4 — As a prophet, while he did much fore-telling (God’s message about the future), he did as much forth-telling (God’s message about the present).
Isaiah 1:11 — God doesn’t want sacrifices? Well, if He doesn’t, we just wasted our time reading Leviticus 1-9! Let’s look at what God has said through His prophets:
If you didn’t get from the Old Testament that God doesn’t accept empty ritual, check out Luke 18:10-14 to see what Jesus said about empty ritual!
Isaiah 1:16-18 — Three commands:
What are we to do once we’re retrained? We must learn to “do well” … but how (vs. 17)?
It’s interesting that sin begins by pride taking advantage of those who are vulnerable, i.e. those whom you can unjustly profit off of, and nobody will notice.
Isaiah 2:4 — This verse is carved on the statue in front of the United Nations. The idealists thought that the nations would not “learn war anymore.” But even though “the United Nations was created to prevent wars,” there have been 150 wars and over 100 Million casualties since its creation. Dispensationalism helps us understand this text; upon a closer examination, we find that this prophecy has yet to be fulfilled!
Isaiah 2:7-8 — Material prosperity and disobedience to Deuteronomy 17:16 leads to idolatry. Good thing nobody worships the work of their own hands today (401k, brokerage accounts, television, social media, etc.) … right?
Isaiah 2:12 — This is the first mention of the Day of the Lord in the Bible.
2 Corinthians 10:5 — How is your thought life? How many days can you go without thinking about the LORD? Take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ!
2 Corinthians 10:18 — To be commended by the LORD is the highest mark of approval. Don’t seek man’s applause, seek the LORD’s commendation!
Psalm 52:5 — The opposite of the LORD’s commendation is the judgment of the LORD! Either you’ll get rewards at the Bema Seat, or you will get eternal damnation at the Great White Throne Judgment. Make your choice now – the result has eternal consequences.
Proverbs 22:26 — More debt advice from Solomon (and we’ve covered surety before), but to borrow a phrase from Shakespeare:
Neither a borrower nor a lender be!

I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls; which I have made. (Isaiah 57:16)
Our heavenly Father seeks our instruction, not our destruction. His contention with us has a kind intention toward us. He will not be always in arms against us. We think the Lord is long in His chastisements, but that is because we are short in our patience. His compassion endureth forever, but not His contention. The night may drag its weary length along, but it must in the end give place to cheerful day. As contention is only for a season, so the wrath which leads to it is only for a small moment. The Lord loves His chosen too well to be always angry with them.
If He were to deal with us always as He does sometimes, we should faint outright and go down hopelessly to the gates of death. Courage, dear heart! The Lord will soon end His chiding. Bear up, for the Lord will bear you up and bear you through. He who made you knows how frail you are and how little you can bear. He will handle tenderly that which He has fashioned so delicately. Therefore, be not afraid because of the painful present, for it hastens to a happy future. He that smote you will heal you; His little wrath shall be followed by great mercies.

New concerns out Thursday afternoon indicate critical infrastructure is now under threat from migrant cartel members.

‘Right-Wing Nazi’: The Greatest Lie of the 20th Century
Despite the left’s historical distortion, the truth remains that National Socialism was rooted in collectivism and anti-capitalism, sharing more with Stalin’s communism than any form of right-wing ideology, making the labeling of Nazis as ‘right-wing’ one of the greatest lies of the 20th century.

What harm will Bill Gates’ anti-methane vaccine cause to animals and the environment?
The very process they are trying to stop – the production of methane from methanogens in animals’ gut biome – is also the same microorganisms and process that has the potential to capture carbon dioxide and produce a renewable energy source – methane. As usual, the climate change cultists are making no sense. Perhaps it is because it is Bill Gates backing the project and it has nothing to do with “climate change mitigation” and everything to do with vaccines. So how safe are these vaccines?

Joe Biden promised not to pardon his son, Hunter, for either his gun crimes (for which he was convicted earlier this summer) or his tax evasion. Joe Biden is also a liar and a corrupt beneficiary of his son’s influence peddling, so while he may well wait until after Election Day on November 5, don’t expect his promise to hold all the way through 11:59 a.m. on January 20, 2025.
Keep that in mind while pondering Hunter Biden’s surprise guilty plea yesterday in his tax evasion case.
Just as jury selection was about to begin, Hunter entered an Alford plea, which is a way to plead guilty and accept sentencing while maintaining innocence. Defendants do this to avoid a trial in which the evidence against them is effectively insurmountable. Prosecutors say they will fight it, with Leo Wise telling the court, “Hunter Biden is not innocent. Hunter Biden is guilty.”
Specifically, what’s the crime here? For years between 2016 and 2019, the president’s son intentionally did not pay at least $1.4 million in taxes — what some might call his “fair share” — on income that included money, er, earned overseas.
Biden’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, however, wants to “move on,” asserting that the plea is an effort “to protect those he loves from unnecessary hurt.” Hunter said the same thing: “I will not subject my family to more pain, more invasions of privacy, and needless embarrassment.”
That’s all laughable, given that Biden’s crime is evading taxes on money he earned selling the family name. The “unnecessary hurt” and “needless embarrassment” are further incriminating evidence or even just implication of Joe Biden in the criminal and corrupt activity. The idea of an “invasion of privacy” regarding people at the top echelons of power is an insult to the American people.
Besides, the true embarrassment already happened in the form of the Democrats’ defenestration of Joe Biden in July. They undoubtedly saw Hunter’s legal troubles crimes as a great reason to carry out their coup.
Nevertheless, Hunter is cutting a deal to protect “The Big Guy,” which is also the main reason why the Bidens are still trying to control the narrative. It’s the same narrative in which Joe Biden lied to the country, telling us that Hunter’s incriminating laptop was “Russian disinformation.”
Part of their tall tale is that Hunter just made some mistakes, and the president loves him so very much despite them. “Like millions of Americans, I failed to file and pay my taxes on time. For that, I am responsible,” Biden said in a statement. “As I have stated, addiction is not an excuse, but it is an explanation for some of my failures at issue in this case.”
Oops, said the victim.
Regarding the type of plea, Biden’s attorney added, “All over the U.S. people do this.”
Wrong. Normal people do not sell their family name overseas, capitalizing on their dad being vice president. Normal people aren’t offered sweetheart plea deals for multiple serious felonies because their dad is now president. By the way, that plea deal came after years of U.S. Attorney and then Special Counsel David Weiss slow-walking charges to try to run out the statute of limitations.
As Creedence Clearwater Revival once sang, “I ain’t no fortunate son.”
Thanks to some whistleblowers last summer, Hunter’s sweetheart plea deal went ka-boom, and here we are. But just because Hunter entered this plea doesn’t mean we should, as Kamala Harris is so fond of saying, suddenly be “unburdened by what has been.”
We should remember the decade and a half of Hunter and Joe’s corruption, as well as their nearly successful attempt to game the justice system. Kamala “The Prosecutor” Harris should certainly be burdened by it.
In fact, that leads me to some prognostication. As we discussed the case in our editorial call this morning, Douglas Andrews offered his assessment: “Hunter’s guilty plea makes him appear more sympathetic, more honorable, more pardonable. That gives his dad a green light to go back on his vow not to pardon him. When he does, outrage will ensue, and Kamala Harris, a.k.a. The Prosecutor, can create her own Sister Souljah moment by disavowing her boss’s decision, further demonstrating just how independent she is, how blameless she is for the failures of Joe Biden, and what an authentic change agent she is. Yeah, it’s something of a political triple-bank shot, but it’d be a win for Hunter, a win for Joe, and a political win for Kamala.”
Hunter faces 25 years on the three gun felonies and a maximum of 17 years on the tax charges. The Big Guy surely won’t let him spend a day behind bars.

Topsy-Turvy
“Kamala Harris is a radical liberal who would raise taxes, take away guns & health insurance, and explode the size and power of the federal gov’t. For the Record
“Hunter to plead guilty to tax charges. How long until the pardon. A guilty plea avoids a messy trial that would inevitably connect Joe Biden to Hunter’s overseas business dealings.” —Katie Pavlich
“The funniest part of this will be when Joe pardons Hunter and Democrat act like it’s a shock that Joe lied.” —Buck Sexton
Political Futures
“While the Right criticizes [Kamala Harris] for not doing interviews, laying out her plans on her website, or being clear about what she wants to do in the White House, the truth is that she doesn’t need to — at least not at the moment. Inquiring Minds Want to Know
“It was Hamas that kidnapped and murdered innocent Israelis and took hostages last October. It is Hamas that has a covenant which calls for the creation of an Islamic state in all of Palestine and the obliteration of Israel. How do you negotiate with an enemy who believes their god has given direct orders to eliminate the Jewish state by any means necessary?” —Cal Thomas
“Television journalists routinely allow guests/pundits/politicians/surrogates to call Trump ‘fascist.’ But isn’t it fascist for government to pressure social media platforms into suppressing dissent about COVID; for government to pressure social media platforms into restricting the Hunter Biden laptop story; and for Harris to propose price controls?” —Larry Elder

When U.S. consumers are doing well, the U.S. economy does well. But of course the opposite is also true. When U.S. consumers are not doing well, the U.S. economy really suffers. The government has been trying really hard to put a happy face on things, but the truth is that the standard of living for most U.S. consumers has been going down for a long time. The cost of living has been rising faster than paychecks have, and so most of us have less discretionary income than we once did. And that is really bad news for the U.S. economy, because as the official White House website has pointed out, consumer spending typically accounts for about two-thirds of all economic activity…
Consumption spending makes up two-thirds of the U.S. economy on average, so as the U.S. consumer goes, so goes the U.S. economy.
For once, the White House has told us something that is actually accurate. In the first quarter of 2024, consumer spending accounted for 68 percent of GDP. It has been right around the two-thirds mark for many years, and that makes it one of the most stable numbers in economics.
Unfortunately, consumers are more financially stressed today than they have been in ages. In fact, a survey that was recently conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau discovered that 37 percent of U.S. adults now struggle to pay for their most basic expenses each month…
About 37% of American adults are in households that found it somewhat or very difficult to pay for typical expenses between late June and late July, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Household Pulse Survey.
When you are barely able to pay for food, housing and other essentials, there is not going to be extra money to blow at retail stores and restaurants. This is one of the primary reasons why so many retailers and restaurant chains are going bankrupt in 2024.
Of course the economic pain is not spread equally across the entire country.
According to that same survey, consumers are particularly struggling in “poor” states such as Mississippi, Alabama and West Virginia…
Mississippi (49.5%), Alabama (45.5%) and West Virginia (43.5%) have the highest percentage of adults who say they’re having trouble affording their basic needs.
I think that there are many good things that could be said about all three states.
In fact, I have Alabama ranked 11th for survivability out of all 50 states in my book about the great turmoil that will soon hit our society.
But if you don’t have money, it can be really tough to live in an area of the country where employment prospects are relatively poor.
Needless to say, lots of people in big states are really hurting right now too.
The Census survey found that 41.8 percent of Florida residents, 40 percent of New York residents, 39.9 percent of Texas residents and 37.5 percent of California residents are having difficultly paying for their basic expenses at this point.
When close to 40 percent of the population is just barely scraping by, you have a major economic crisis on your hands.
No matter how they want to frame things, our leaders are not going to be able to ignore this forever.
The lack of consumer spending is hitting the restaurant industry particularly hard…
The year has not even reached its fourth quarter and bankruptcies among restaurant chains, operating companies and large franchisees are already nearly double what they were in 2023.
Jonathan Carson, co-CEO of bankruptcy services and technology firm Stretto, says there have been 17 such Chapter 11 filings in the sector so far in 2024, and there were only nine at this point last year. He expects the trend to continue.
According to Carson, a number of factors have contributed to the nightmare that the restaurant industry is now facing…
“In this situation, a challenging economic environment, post-pandemic recovery issues, rising labor costs, changing consumer habits and inflation have caused more restaurants to struggle in 2024,” Carson told FOX Business in an interview, noting those issues have also impacted other sectors of the economy.
Retailers have also been going bankrupt at a staggering rate.
Just today, I came across another example. Earlier this year, LL Flooring shuttered close to 100 stores, but now the company has decided that it is time to permanently shut down all 442 stores…
LL Flooring – previously known as Lumber Liquidators – is shutting all its stores after going out of business after three decades.
The retailer, one of America’s biggest flooring suppliers, was looking for a buyer after filing for bankruptcy.
Earlier in the summer it had 442 stores, but shut nearly 100 as it looked to cut costs and woo investors. No buyer could be found.
You can’t get blood out of a stone.
If consumers had plenty of discretionary income, they would be out spending it.
But they don’t, and things will only get worse during the months ahead.
Politicians can keep giving more speeches about “how well the economy is doing”, but it won’t change the cold, hard facts on the ground. If someone tries to tell you that the economy is in good shape, just point out that the number of business bankruptcies has been absolutely exploding…
According to statistics released by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, annual bankruptcy filings totaled 486,613 in the year ending June 2024, compared with 418,724 cases in the previous year.
Business filings rose 40.3 percent, from 15,724 to 22,060 in the year ending June 30, 2024. Non-business bankruptcy filings rose 15.3 percent to 464,553, compared with 403,000 in the previous year.
The moment that you point this out, the argument will be over.
There is no way that anyone can monkey with that number.
Either businesses are filing for bankruptcy or they aren’t.
Right now, companies all over America are really hurting, and as a result many of them are also laying off workers.
In fact, things are so bad that even the tech industry has been conducting mass layoffs…
Tech companies continued to cut jobs at a rapid pace in August 2024. More than 27,000 workers in the industry lost their jobs as over 40 companies, including big names like Intel, IBM, and Cisco, as well as numerous smaller startups, announced layoffs. To date, more than 136,000 tech workers have been laid off by 422 companies in 2024, indicating significant upheaval in the sector.

GAZA — After news broke over the weekend that the bodies of several executed hostages were recently discovered in Gaza by Israeli Defense Forces, the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas was reportedly excited to learn that killing Israelis somehow makes U.S. President Joe Biden condemn Israel.
Biden joined multiple heads of state in issuing stern statements warning Israel of potential consequences due to Hamas killing Israeli captives while still holding over 100 more hostages.
“Israel is clearly out of line,” Biden said in a statement to reporters that also reminded everyone he was still the U.S. president. “The idea… that a sovereign nation would callously remind everyone that a terrorist organization has been holding civilian hostages for nearly a year. And now that Hamas has murdered several hostages, who would… who would… who… who would ever… why would… it’s garbage. I don’t think anyone… I don’t… anyway.”
Hamas was encouraged by Biden’s statement. “This is unexpected but quite welcome,” said Hamas spokesterrorist Anwar Khalif Mohammed. “We did not know that carrying out deadly attacks against Israel and executing civilian hostages would result in Biden condemning Israel. This support from the American president tells us we should do this more often. Thank you, Mr. Biden, and death to America.”
At publishing time, the United States was reportedly considering joining Russia, Iran, and every Arab nation in petitioning the United Nations to take decisive action and levy sanctions against Israel for its irresponsible act and hold them accountable for the horrible actions perpetrated by Hamas.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), in the first three months of this year, 24,376 Chinese nationals were apprehended crossing the U.S. Southern Border, while about 1,000 have been crossing the northern border monthly. Under the National Intelligence Law of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), all Chinese citizens and entities are required to assist the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in intelligence gathering. The threat from China is real, pervasive, and growing, as Beijing exploits America’s open borders and freedoms to plant spies within the U.S. government, military, research labs, and institutions.
In September 2024, Linda Sun, a former aide to New York Governors Andrew Cuomo and Kathy Hochul, was arrested for acting as an undisclosed agent for the Chinese government. She is accused of leveraging her position to further Chinese interests by influencing state policies and facilitating meetings between Chinese and U.S. officials. Sun’s case reflects a broader strategy by China to infiltrate U.S. political systems by targeting state and local officials. The Ministry of State Security (MSS) often exploits naturalized U.S. citizens with ties to China, using business opportunities and family connections to gain influence. Sun’s arrest underscores China’s efforts to influence rising political figures and manipulate policies, including those concerning Taiwan, through covert operations.
The Annual Threat Assessment from the U.S. Intelligence Community identifies China as the top espionage threat to the United States. The FBI’s China Threat Report highlights that counterintelligence and economic espionage activities by the Chinese government and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) pose a significant danger to U.S. economic security and democratic values. China’s goals include influencing U.S. policy to benefit its interests while striving for global dominance through tactics such as intellectual property theft, cyber intrusions, and predatory business practices. These efforts span various sectors, including business, academia, and government, necessitating a coordinated response from both the U.S. government and private industry to effectively address the threat.
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) reported in its Survey of Chinese Espionage that there have been 224 documented cases of Chinese espionage targeting the United States since 2000. These efforts primarily involve the covert acquisition of sensitive information by Chinese intelligence officers or agents, illustrating the increasing trend of Chinese influence operations in the U.S. However, the survey does not cover espionage activities against U.S. entities in China, attempts to smuggle controlled technologies, or over 1,200 intellectual property theft lawsuits brought by U.S. companies. This suggests that the actual scope of the China threat is much larger when considering all forms of espionage.
China’s espionage efforts, driven by the aggressive policies of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), heavily rely on cyberattacks, with 104 instances of cyber espionage reported in the past decade. These efforts primarily target military and commercial technologies. In addition to cyber espionage, traditional methods like agent recruitment through bribery or coercion and unconventional tactics, such as purchasing property near sensitive U.S. facilities, are also employed. According to a CSIS report, 49% of espionage cases involved Chinese military or government personnel, 41% involved private Chinese citizens, and 10% involved non-Chinese individuals recruited by Chinese officials. The report also notes that 46% of these cases were cyber-related, 29% targeted military technology, 54% sought commercial technologies, and 17% focused on U.S. civilian agencies or politicians.
Chinese espionage in the United States is a complex and growing threat, targeting both public and private sectors, especially within sensitive military domains. A recent example is the case of Jinchao “Patrick” Wei, a U.S. Navy machinist stationed on the USS Essex, who was convicted of passing classified military documents to a Chinese intelligence officer. Wei exploited his position to share sensitive information, thereby aiding China’s military strategy.
In another recent espionage case, Yuanjun Tang, a U.S. citizen who was granted asylum, was accused of spying on Chinese pro-democracy activists by helping Chinese authorities infiltrate an encrypted group chat used by dissidents. Similarly, Shujun Wang, a Chinese-American scholar and pro-democracy activist, was convicted of leveraging his position to gather and pass information about dissidents to the Chinese government. Additionally, in 2022, Chinese nationals Lu Jianwang and Chen Jinping were arrested for running an illegal police station in New York’s Chinatown, where they monitored and intimidated critics of the Chinese government. The FBI raided the station shutting it down. These cases exemplify China’s far-reaching efforts to target dissidents and influence operations within the U.S.
Chinese espionage has also deeply infiltrated the technology sector. In March 2024, the arrest of Linwei “Leon” Ding revealed how Chinese agents exploit positions within major tech companies to steal valuable trade secrets. Ding’s access to proprietary AI technology at Google, which he transmitted to Chinese entities, highlights China’s strategic goal of achieving technological dominance. Similarly, Chenguang Gong, a former engineer, was arrested for allegedly stealing missile-tracking technology for China. These cases underscore China’s efforts to obtain advanced technologies to bolster its military and economic power. Both the U.S. Department of Defense and the FBI have frequently warned that such espionage activities threaten U.S. global competitiveness and security, with the technology and defense sectors being prime targets.
The cases mentioned demonstrate the broad scope of China’s espionage activities in the U.S., spanning military, technology, politics, and academia. These operations not only jeopardize U.S. national security but also threaten the nation’s economic leadership and technological innovation. U.S. intelligence agencies consistently stress the need for strong counterintelligence efforts to combat this escalating threat.
Further compounding the issue, the House Committee on Homeland Security reported an 8,000% increase in the apprehensions of Chinese nationals illegally entering the U.S. via the southern border, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data. This surge raises additional concerns about potential espionage risks as part of China’s broader infiltration strategy.

The Democrat Party and its media allies are hell-bent on convincing the American people that it’s Trump and the Republicans who are racist.
But Mark Levin thinks a history lesson is due.
– YouTube www.youtube.com
“The Civil War was fought between the North and the South, the Confederacy and the Union, between the Republican Party and the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party was the party of slavery; its generals after the Civil War formed the Ku Klux Klan,” which “was always an appendage to the Democrat Party,” he says.
Later, “it was the Democrat Party that supported segregation,” he continues, pointing to Plessy v. Ferguson, during which a Democrat administration determined that separate but equal was equal, as an example.
Levin also points to Democrats’ great hero — Franklin Roosevelt — who refused to sign a bill that would have outlawed lynching because it would have cost him Democrat votes in the South.
“Woodrow Wilson — another horrendous segregationist and racist — he resegregated the military, resegregated the Civil Service after Taft and Roosevelt had desegregated them,” he reminds, adding that Wilson also “required that people provide a photograph with their applications for jobs” because “his order would not hire black people.”
“That’s your Democrat Party,” says Levin.
