There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true. —Soren Kierkegaard. "…truth is true even if nobody believes it, and falsehood is false even if everybody believes it. That is why truth does not yield to opinion, fashion, numbers, office, or sincerity–it is simply true and that is the end of it" – Os Guinness, Time for Truth, pg.39. “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” – Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
I particularly enjoyed this piece from poet Kay Cude. I hope you enjoy it too. May it encourage you, strengthen you, or simply allow your thoughts to linger on the wonders and glories of our Savior.
4 This verse, standing at the center of the chiasm of vv. 2–5, is the focal point of this pericope. Bildad asserts that before the majestic God no creature can be just (ṣāḏaq) or pure (zāḵâ). Thus it is impossible for a feeble, finite human to attain moral perfection. The weakness of mankind is underscored by the word for man (ʾĕnôš) and by the phrase born of woman (yəlûḏ ʾiššâ). Bildad is quoting Eliphaz’s great insight presented in 15:14–15 (cf. 4:17–18). Thus he also has come to the conclusion that Job is deluded in thinking that he might be able to prove his innocence before God.1
25:4How then can a mortal be righteous before God? Once again (cf. Eliphaz in 4:15–19; 15:14–16), the comforting words of Psalm 8:4 are distorted by one of Job’s friends. By measuring humans against the perfect righteousness of Almighty God, Bildad concludes that humans are helplessly corrupt. The Bible does teach that all humans are sinful and guilty before God (Ps. 14:1–3; Rom. 3:10–12), but Bildad has left out of the picture what the Bible teaches about divine grace and forgiveness, and also God’s commendation of those who obey him. Bildad’s theology paints in black and white, not with the full pallet of God’s truth. Because Bildad is so intent on defending the validity of the retribution formula, he has to conclude that Job’s adversity is due to his personal sin. And to substantiate his condemnation of Job, Bildad resorts to condemning the whole human race as inherently and incorrigibly corrupt before God. Of course, the clear implication of Bildad’s point is that he himself must be hopeless before God, but he does not take his argument to that next logical stage.2
Ver. 4.—How then can man be justified with God? If God’s creatures have no brightness of their own, and, when they shine, shine only with a reflected radiance, then certainly can no man be justified by his own merits. “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman? (comp. ch. 14:4, “Who shall bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one;” and the comment ad loc.).3
Ver. 4. How then can man be justified with God?
On justification:—
I. What justification is. The being accounted righteous though we are not so. When brought into a justified state we are treated as if we were altogether righteous. Whose is this righteousness? Whence is it derived? Not from ourselves or any remaining excellence in human nature. We must be accounted righteous, and justified with God, by other merits than our own. It is to the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that we are indebted.
II. How a man cannot be justified.
1. Not by repentance.
2. Not by amendment of life.
3. Not by our sincerity.
4. Not by any works whatever of our own.
III. How alone he can be justified. We are accounted righteous before God only for the merit of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by faith, and not for our own works or deservings. Why does faith alone, faith without works, justify us? Because faith is the only medium by which we can receive Christ.
IV. Why a man can be justified in no other way than the way in which he is justified.
1. It is God’s determination that “no flesh shall glory in His sight.”
2. God has determined that His Son alone shall be exalted in the justification of a sinner.
3. It is God’s determination to magnify His name and word above all the philosophy and traditions of men.
4. It is a merciful God’s gracious determination to afford grounds of the most abundant consolation to the humbled and believing sinner. (W. Mudge, B.A.)
An all-important question:—
I. The all-important question which our text proposes. “How can man be justified with God?” It is a matter of some consequence to stand well with our brethren, to bear what is called a good character before our fellow-men; but to stand right with God is a point on which our heaven depends.
II. The difficulties it suggests.
1. The extreme holiness of God. The text says that there is not in any of the shining orbs of heaven, there is not to God the beauty that we see. So it is also with respect to moral excellency and spiritual perfection. Characters that we call shining actions that we count pure, exalted, are not in His eyes what they are in ours. In this Book it is said God “chargeth His angels with folly,” and “the heavens are not clean in His sight.” How can man be justified before that God who is so pure, so holy, so requiring—who sees dimness in the moon, imperfection in the stars, folly in His saints?
2. Then another difficulty is the extreme unholiness of man, his miserable baseness and corruption. Man is here called a worm. It is the very proverb in our lips for weakness and for helplessness; a thing that every foot may crush. But look at the place—the dunghill—where the worm is found. Look at its vile habits and propensities. It is the emblem of spiritual baseness and corruption. Man is spiritually vile in the sight of the most holy God. Put the two statements of the text together. God so holy that the very moon and stars have no glory in His eyes. Man so polluted that the filthy worm which crawls upon the dunghill is considered a just emblem of his case and character. Then how can man be justified with God?
III. The only way in which so difficult a question can be answered. The Gospel supplies it. In Christ alone is the question entirely satisfied. The answer is ready—by coming unto Jesus; by casting the whole soul upon the Saviour’s merits; by ceasing from that hopeless work of endeavouring “to establish our own righteousness,” and by submitting ourselves unfeignedly to that which Christ hath wrought for us. Are we doing this? Are we making Christ the “Lord our Righteousness,” by looking only unto Him for recommendation in the sight of God? (A. Roberts, M.A.)
Justification:—
1. The natural man builds his hope of justification at the day of final reckoning on the law. The moral law contains the sum of our duty toward God and toward man. If the law give life, it can do so only to those who fulfil it in all its requirements. The law is exceeding broad. We stop not to inquire whether it is possible for human strength to fulfil the law even in its letter, but we ask you to reflect whether you have fulfilled it in its spiritual extent. Many, finding that they cannot be justified by a law thus spiritual in its nature and extensive in its requirements, go about to establish a righteousness of their own upon a ground just as untenable. They conceive that a law of such perfection is fitted only to perfect, sinless creatures; and that to beings imperfect, and in their nature now inherently and habitually sinful, it must relax its strictness, and lower its requisitions, and accept of sincere, instead of complete obedience. But this is absurd as well as unscriptural. Do the laws of human governments vary with the endless variety of their subjects whose social relations they are appointed to direct? The laws of heaven cannot stoop, because they are founded upon the immutable basis of their truth and rectitude.
2. Repentance is the next ground to which the sinner betakes himself in the persuasion that though the law of itself cannot give life, yet with this addition it may do so. But is there anything in repentance, when considered by itself, which can really form a ground of hope to the violator of the law? To the eye of reason, apart altogether from revelation, there certainly is not. The law is broken, and sorrow for its breach no more repairs the evil, than sorrow for an injury done to a fellow-mortal actually repairs that injury. Repentance does nothing of itself to repair the breach which has been made by transgression. Our repentance, so far from annulling law, can only be regarded as a testimony, on our part, of the justice of the Lawgiver in demanding that atonement which blood only can supply. The sinner has no ground in revelation for supposing that repentance of itself can atone for transgression.
3. A vague dependence on the mercy of God. Can anything be conceived more impious or evidently delusive than such a hope as is here entertained? What idea must they form of the character of God when they can derive from it an excuse for past and a motive for future wickedness? Has God no attributes but those of mercy and goodness, or are the other parts of His character negatived by these?
4. The true answer is given by Jehovah. We are “justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” Christ is the fountain of all our hopes. By the perfect obedience of His life He has magnified and even honoured the law, which had been dishonoured by man’s transgression; He has satisfied its justice by the death of the Cross. (J. Glasson.)
Man contending with God:—
Bildad in this place doth not speak of justification in that strict Gospel sense as it imports the pronouncing of a man righteous for the sake of Christ, or as if he supposed Job looked to be pronounced righteous for his own sake. Bildad speaks of justification here, as to some particular act; as for instance, if any man will contend with God, as if God had done him some wrong, or had afflicted him more than there was need, is he able to make the plea good, and give proof of it before the throne of God? There is a fourfold understanding of that phrase, “with God.”
1. If any man shall presume to refer himself to the judgment of God, shall he be justified? In this sense it is possible for a man to be justified with God; and thus Job was justified by God at last against the opinions and censures of his three friends.
2. To be justified with God is as much as this. If man come near to, or set himself in the presence of God, shall he be justified? Man usually looks upon himself at a distance from God; he looks upon himself in his own light, and so thinks himself righteous; but when he looks upon himself in the light of God, or as one that is near to God, will not all his spots and blemishes then appear?
3. Can man be justified with God? That is, if man compare himself with God, can he be justified? One may compare himself with another, and be justified. But how can man be just or righteous compared with God, in comparison of whom all our righteousness is unrighteous, and our very cleanness filthy?
4. To be justified with God is against God. That is, if man strive or contend with God, in anything, as if God were too hard and severe towards him, either by withholding good from him, or bringing evil upon him, can man be justified in this contention? Will God be found to have done him any wrong? Taking the words in a general sense, observe that man hath nothing of his own to justify him before God. There are two things considerable in man. His sin, and his righteousness. All grant man cannot be justified by or for his sins; nor can he at all be justified in or for his own righteousness. And that upon a twofold ground.
(1) Because the best of his righteousness is imperfect; and no imperfect thing can be a ground of justification and acceptance with God.
(2) All the righteousness wrought by man is a due debt. How can we acquit ourselves from the evil we have done by any good which we do, seeing all the good we do we ought to have done, though we had never done any evil? When we have done our best we may be ashamed of our doings, we do so poorly. There is, however, a twofold justification. The justification of a man in reference to some particular act, or in his cause. And the justification of a man in his person. When Job said, “I know that I shall be justified,” his meaning was, I shall be justified in this case, in this business. I shall not be cast as a hypocrite (for he always stood upon, and stiffiy maintained his integrity); or I know I shall be justified in this opinion which I constantly maintain; that a righteous man may be greatly affiicted by God, while in the meantime He spareth the unrighteous and the sinner. A man may have much to justify himself by before God, as to a controversy between him and man; for he hath nothing at all to justify himself by, as to his state before God. (Joseph Caryl.)
Accusations silenced:—
The Jews have a legend that Satan accuses men day and night the whole year round, except on the day of atonement, and then he is utterly silenced. The legend becomes fact in the atonement of Christ. This silences the accuser ever, for it is “God that justifieth,” and who can condemn? They (the saints) “overcome by the blood of the Lamb.”4

Isaiah 6:1 — The year is 740 BC. The political establishment was in upheaval because Uzziah had been king for 52 years. This was the only king Isaiah had ever known. Uzziah was such a great king (2 Kings 15:3) that he thought he’d make a good priest as well (2 Chronicles 26:18). For that he was cursed with leprosy (2 Chronicles 16:19). They’ve even uncovered a burial stone that claims to be where he was reburied:
What else happened in 740 BC?
In 740 BC, Tiglath-Pileser III took Arpad after a siege of three years, and razed Hamath. Uzziah had been an ally of the king of Hamath, and thus was compelled by Tiglath-Pileser to do him homage and pay yearly tribute.
Isaiah 6:2 — People have tried to portray this scene – but this is an incredible look into heaven!
Isaiah 6:3 — We see similar creatures in Revelation 4:8. Day and night they declare, “Holy! Holy! Holy!”
Isaiah 6:5 — Isaiah realized he was an unworthy sinner when he saw the KING! But God sent a seraphim to purge his sin (Isaiah 6:7).
Isaiah 6:8 — God is still calling today: “Who will go for us?” Isaiah said, “Here am I, send me!” Listen to this reminder from Patch the Pirate:
Isaiah 6:9-10 — How’s that for a message to share on deputation? Called by God to preach a message that the people will be unable to understand or perceive, a message that they have rejected God, so God will close the door of healing, and a message that Judah will be wasted desolate (Isaiah 6:11).
Isaiah 7:1 — We’ve just jumped ahead from the death of Uzziah to the reign of his evil grandson Ahaz (2 Chronicles 28:2-4). We’re at the same time when Rezin and Pekah are teaming up against Ahaz. God had a message for Ahaz about Judah’s deliverance (Isaiah 7:7), as well as a message of judgment on Israel (Isaiah 7:8).
Isaiah 7:12 — Ahaz is trying to be pious (“I will not tempt the LORD”), but God recorded for us that Ahaz was actually trusting in Assyria (2 Chronicles 28:16); he was even sacrificing to the gods of Syria, his enemy (2 Chronicles 28:23)! Ahaz vandalized the house of the LORD (2 Chronicles 28:24), yet God still reached out to him.
Isaiah 7:14 — KnowingScripture.com debunks the argument that the word “virgin” should mean “young woman.” They also address the question, “Why was God giving a messianic prophecy to Ahaz when he’ll be dead for 600 years before Jesus is born?”
First, the Lord offers a sign to Ahaz that he would defend Jerusalem, but Ahaz rebelliously refused it. In reply, the prophet addresses not Ahaz personally but the house of David: “Hear then, O house of David! Is it too little for you to weary men, that you weary my God also? Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign …” (Isaiah 7:13-14). In Hebrew, the “you’s” in this passage are plural. So the proper recipients of the sign are a broader category than Ahaz personally. The promise is made to the entire royal house as such.
Tomorrow we will read more about the child in Isaiah 9:6-7.
2 Corinthians 11:23-27 — Paul is wondering why the Corinthians are willing to follow people who will fleece them, devour them, belittle them, even smite them on the face (2 Corinthians 11:20). Paul gives a great advertisement for missionary service in these verses, sharing what he has endured for the cause of Christ:
195 beatings from the Jews
3 times beaten with rods
stoned once
3 times shipwrecked
wearied, painful
hungering, thirsting
cold, naked
Paul didn’t have his best life now, but he had in mind a future with the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ!
Psalm 54:7 — Paul can declare with the Psalmist, “He hath delivered me out of all trouble!”
Proverbs 23:2 — Gluttons beware – don’t eat with royalty!

He that humbleth himself shall be exalted. (Luke 18:14)
It ought not to be difficult for us to humble ourselves, for what have we to be proud of? We ought to take the lowest place without being told to do so. If we are sensible and honest, we shall be little in our own eyes. Especially before the Lord in prayer we shall shrink to nothing. There we cannot speak of merit, for we have none; our one and only appeal must be to mercy: “God be merciful to me a sinner.”
Here is a cheering word from the throne. We shall be exalted by the Lord if we humble ourselves. For us the way upward is downhill. When we are stripped of self we are clothed with humility, and this is the best of wear. The Lord will exalt us in peace and happiness of mind; He will exalt us into knowledge of His Word and fellowship with Himself; He will exalt us in the enjoyment of sure pardon and justification. The Lord puts His honors upon those who can wear them to the honor of the Giver. He gives usefulness, acceptance, and influence to those who will not be puffed up by them but will be abased by a sense of greater responsibility. Neither God nor man will care to lift up a man who lifts up himself; but both God and good men unite to honor modest worth.
You might remember Peter Millican from the debate he had with William Lane Craig. I ranked that debate as one of the 3 best I have ever seen, along with the first Craig vs Dacey debate and the second Craig vs Sinnott-Armstrong debate.
Details:
Science has revealed that the fundamental constants and forces of the cosmos appear to be exquisitely fine-tuned to allow a universe in which life can develop. Is God the best explanation of the incredibly improbable odds of the universe we live in being a life-permitting one?
Robin Collins is a Christian philosopher and a leading advocate of the argument for God from cosmic design. Peter Millican is an atheist philosopher at Oxford University. They debate the issues.
From ‘Unbelievable?’ on ‘Premier Christian Radio’, Saturday 19th March 2016.
The debate:
As usual when the atheist is an expert, there is no snark or paraphrasing in the summary.
Summary
Brierley: What is the fine-tuning argument?
Collins: the fine-tuning is structure of the universe is extremely precisely set to allow the existing of conscious, embodied agents who are capable of moral behavior. There are 3 kinds of fine-tuning: 1) the laws of nature (mathematical formulas), 2) the constants of physics (numbers that are plugged into the equations), 3) the initial conditions of the universe. The fine-tuning exists not just because there are lots of possibilities, but there is something special about the actual state of affairs that we see. Every set of laws, parameters and initial conditions is equally improbable, but the vast majority of permutations do not permit life. The possible explanations: theism or the multiverse.
Brierley: How improbable are the numbers?
Collins: Once case is the cosmological constant (dark energy density), with is 1 part in (10 raised to 120th power). If larger, the universe expands too rapidly for galaxies and stars to form after the Big Bang. If smaller, the universe collapses in on itself before life could form. Another case is the initial distribution of mass energy to give us the low entropy we have that is necessary for life. The fine-tuning there is 1 part in (10 raised to the 10th power raised to the 123rd power).
Brierley: What do you think of the argument?
Millican: The argument is worth taking very seriously. I am a fan of the argument. The other arguments for God’s existence such as the ontological and cosmological arguments are very weak. But the fine-tuning argument has the right structure to deliver the conclusion that theists want. And it is different from the traditional design argument tended to focus on biological nature, which is not a strong argument. But the fine-tuning argument is strong because it precedes any sort of biological evolution. Although the design is present at the beginning of the universe, it is not visible until much later. The argument points to at least deism, and possibly theism. The argument is not based on ignorance, it is rooted in “the latest results from the frontiers of science” (his phrase).
Brierley: Is this the best argument from natural theology?
Collins: The cosmological argument makes theism viable intuitively, but there are some things that are puzzling, like the concept of the necessary being. But the fine-tuning argument is decisive.
Brierley: What’s are some objections to the fine-tuning argument?
Millican: The argument is based on recent physics, so we should be cautious because we maybe we will discover a natural explanation.
Brierley: Respond to that.
Collins: The cosmological constant has been around since 1980. But the direction that physics is moving in is that there are more constants and quantities being discovered that need to be fine-tuned, not less. Even if you had a grand unified theory, that would have to be have the fine-tuning pushed into it.
(BREAK)
Millican: Since we have no experience of other laws and values from other universes, we don’t know whether these values can be other than they are. Psychologically, humans are prone to seeing purpose and patterns where there is none, so maybe that’s happening here.
Brierley: Respond to that.
Collins: It is possible to determine probabilities on a single universe case, for example using multiple ways of calculating Avogadro’s number all converging on the same number makes it more probable.
Millican: Yes, I willing to accept that these constants can take on other values, (“principle of indifference”). But maybe this principle be applied if the improbability were pushed up into the theory?
Collins: Even if you had a grand theory, selecting the grand theory from others would retain the improbability.
Brierley: What about the multiverse?
Millican: What if there are many, many different universes, and we happen to be in the one that is finely-tuned, then we should not be surprised to observe fine-tuning. Maybe a multiverse theory will be discovered in the future that would allow us to have these many universes with randomized constants and quantities. “I do think that it is a little bit of a promissary note”. I don’t think physics is pointing to this right now.
Brierley: Respond to that.
Collins: I agree it’s a promissary note. This is the strongest objection to the fine-tuning argument. But there are objections to the multiverse: 1) the fine-tuning is kicked back up to the multiverse generator has to be set just right to produce universes with different constants, 2) the multiverse is more likely to produce a small universe with Boltzmann brains that pop into existence and then out again, rather than a universe that contains conscious, embodied intelligent agents. I am working on a third response now that would show that the same constants that allow complex, embodied life ALSO allow the universe to be discoverable. This would negate the observer-selection effect required by the multiverse objection.
Brierley: Respond to that.
Millican: I don’t see why the multiverse generator has to be fine-tuned, since we don’t know what the multiverse generator is. I’m not impressed by the Boltzmann brains, but won’t discuss. We should be cautious about inferring design because maybe this is a case where we are seeing purpose and design where there is none.
Brierley: Can you negate the discoverability of the universe by saying that it might be psychological?
Collins: These things are not psychological. The selected value for the cosmic microwave background radiation is fine-tuned for life and for discoverability. It’s not merely a discoverability selection effect, it’s optimal for discoverability. If baryon-photon value were much smaller, we would have known that it was not optimal. So that judgment cannot be explained by
Millican: That’s a very interesting new twist.
Brierley: Give us your best objection.
Millican: I have two. 1) Even if you admit to the fine-tuning, this doesn’t show a being who is omnipotent and omnisicient. What the fine-tuning shows is that the designer is doing the best it can given the constraints from nature. If I were God, I would not have made the universe so big, and I wouldn’t have made it last 14 billion years, just to make one small area that supports life. An all-powerful God would have made the universe much smaller, and much younger. 2) The fine-tuning allows life to exist in other solar systems in other galaxies. What does this alien life elsewhere mean for traditional Christian theology? The existence of other alien civilizations argues against the truth of any one religion.
Brierley: Respond to those.
Collins: First objection: with a finite Creator, you run into the problem of having to push the design of that creature up one level, so you don’t really solve the fine-tuning problem. An unlimited being (non-material, not composed of parts) does not require fine-tuning. The fine-tuning is more compatible with theism than atheism. Second objection: I actually do think that it is likely that are other universes, and life in other galaxies and stars, and the doctrine of the Incarnation is easily adaptable to that, because God can take on multiple natures to appear to different alien civilizations.
The love of God is greater far Than tongue or pen can ever tell; It goes beyond the highest star, And reaches to the lowest hell; The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled, And pardoned from his sin.
Refrain
O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure The saints’ and angels’ song.
When years of time shall pass away, And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall, When men, who here refuse to pray, On rocks and hills and mountains call, God’s love so sure, shall still endure, All measureless and strong; Redeeming grace to Adam’s race— The saints’ and angels’ song.
Could we with ink the ocean fill, And were the skies of parchment made, Were every stalk on earth a quill, And every man a scribe by trade, To write the love of God above, Would drain the ocean dry. Nor could the scroll contain the whole, Though stretched from sky to sky.

After six weeks of completely hiding from the media, Kamala Harris finally appeared, with the safety valve of her running mate, in a pre-recorded, brief, and totally friendly interview with Dana Bash of CNN.
Bash did not press on the most urgent issues, nor did she follow up when Harris either obfuscated or simply refused to answer. As such, Harris still escapes the scrutiny of any real interview, even though she has applied for the most difficult and important job in the world.
Moreover, if anything, the burden of proof should be far higher for Harris given that she was elevated to nominee status by the backroom machinations of powerbrokers, rather than citizens voting.
In fact, Harris has never earned a single caucus or primary vote for president, neither in 2020, nor in 2024. Given that she came out of the Democratic Party apparatus that dominates California, in point of fact Harris has not faced serious scrutiny in her entire political career, ever.
She wants to claim all the advantages of incumbency without any of the attendant blame for her record as a sitting vice president and co-manager of the Biden agenda, especially on immigration and on inflation. Unfortunately, the corporate press seems more than willing to grant her this posture of “all the benefits/none of the costs,” in large part because leading media mavens clearly feel guilt for having deposed Biden so unceremoniously.
As part of that media fawning protection over Harris, she faces little blowback for ignoring journalists. Given this strange circumstance, next week’s debate may well provide the singular opportunity to press Harris on key questions that she simply must answer to prove herself worthy of the highest office in the land.
If ABC News wants to find a professional conscience on behalf of the profession of journalism, then these queries really should flow from the moderators, Linsey Davis and David Muir. But if ABC forgoes that ethical obligation, then President Trump should enter the debate hall ready to validly confront Harris on the following key dozen questions:
When did you know about Joe Biden’s cognitive issues and were you always truthful with the American people about his condition?
It has been reported that Biden was threatened with use of the 25th Amendment as leverage to get him to drop out. Can you speak to that issue and defend why you belong on the ballot even though no primary voters chose you?
You have publicly boasted about Bidenomics, but Americans hate the economy. Can you describe Bidenomics and whether you still own it?
President Trump did a highly confrontational town hall on CNN as a candidate this cycle. Will you do a similar town hall with someone like Laura Ingraham?
Why do you affect accents in front of different audiences and what does it say about your authenticity?
You’ve repeatedly backed race-based reparations. Can you explain why Hispanic, Asian, and white Americans today should pay their black neighbors for racial injustices committed before they were ever even born?
Can you state whether or not your home state of California is a model for America?
How can you assure the American people that millions of migrants who poured into America will not receive amnesty and citizenship?
What would you say to the parents of Laken Riley?
Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal – you said you were the last person in the room and that you’re comfortable with the decision. Is that still the case?
Housing affordability has never been worse in America by some metrics, and not since the 2006 Housing bubble, according to Goldman Sachs. Why shouldn’t Americans blame you for this crisis?
Steve Cortes is former senior advisor to President Trump, former commentator for Fox News and CNN, and president of the League of American Workers, a populist right pro-laborer advocacy group.
Pastor and author Alistair Begg lamented the diminishing role of Scripture in congregational life, warning that modern churchgoers often arrive not with a sense of reverence but with a consumerist mindset and called for a return to “serious engagement with the Bible.”
In a message delivered at the annual Sing! Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, Begg, the senior pastor of Cleveland’s Parkside Church, said that in churches around the world, the pulpit once stood as a monumental symbol of spiritual authority. Yet, over time, this symbol has all but faded, making way for a more casual and consumer-friendly approach to worship spaces.
That change, the 72-year-old Scottish pastor said, represents more than just a design preference — it reflects a deeper shift in how churches engage with the Bible itself.
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee joins ‘Fox & Friends Weekend’ to discuss Kamala Harris and Donald Trump’s upcoming presidential debate and its impact on the election.
Sunday, September 8 2024: Join us for Sunday morning worship services from Providence Baptist Church in Beauregard, AL. Message today by Senior Pastor Dr. Rusty Sowell.
Bernie Sanders has said the quiet part out loud on Kamala Harris’s flip-flopping on key issues, confirming what many Americans have known all along: Kamala is not abandoning her far-left, socialist ideals but is simply pretending to be moderate to win the election.
During an appearance on Meet the Press, Senator Sanders was asked by Kristen Welker about Harris’s flip-flopping on key issues like Medicare for All, fracking, border wall, and others.
Sanders openly declared that Harris is not abandoning her ideals, but rather masking them to appeal to a broader audience in the hopes of winning over moderate voters.
Kristen Welker: To describe Vice President Kamala Harris as a progressive, she has previously supported Medicare for All. Now, she does not. She previously supported a ban on fracking. Now, she does not. These, Senator, are ideas that you have campaigned on. Do you think she is abandoning her progressive ideals?
Bernie Sanders: No, I don’t think she’s abandoning her ideals. I think she’s trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election.
Sanders’ remarks highlight that Harris isn’t just flip-flopping on her beliefs to survive the campaign trail. Instead, she’s using “pragmatism” as an excuse to align with whatever ideology suits her ambition at the moment.
From supporting the Green New Deal to pushing for taxpayer-funded healthcare, Harris’s track record speaks for itself. Her convenient shift to moderation is nothing more than an attempt to fool the American people into thinking she’s on their side.
But as Bernie Sanders revealed, it’s all part of the plan—lull the public into complacency, then hit them with socialist policies once power is secured.

Trump’s campaign blasted Kamala last month, calling her a shape-shifting Kameleon:
It has almost been a month since Kamala Harris announced her coup, yet she refuses to do interviews with the press or hold press conferences. Instead, she’s resorting to STEALING policy ideas from President Trump and flip flopping on every issue imaginable.
Whether she is plagiarizing ideas like No Tax on Tips or completely changing her positions on fracking and gun rights, Kamala has proven to be a Kameleon in order to gaslight voters.
But why does she need to come up with new policy proposals? When she was on the ticket as Biden’s VP, she didn’t seem to have a problem with the radical policy platform he introduced. Does she not believe his policies are worth duplicating or replicating? If she is so concerned with service workers keeping their tips, why won’t she do something about it now? She IS part of the administration now. And how does she explain why her administration has actually launched a new snitching program through the IRS to collect more taxes on tips?
[…]
“Kamala Harris’ spokespeople are once again alleging she has flip flopped on her positions — this time saying she no longer supports socialist Medicare for All. Kamala needs to stop insulting the intelligence of voters and speak for herself to explain why she is running from every liberal policy she has ever supported. The mainstream media needs to stop being complicit in her lies and demand answers. Kamala co-sponsored the Medicare For All Act and supported enrolling illegal immigrants in Medicare, forcing hardworking American taxpayers to foot their healthcare bills. As for President Trump, he has remained consistent in his promise to bring down healthcare costs for hardworking American families.” – Karoline Leavitt, Trump Campaign National Press Secretary
Kamala’s record:
Kamala was a “proud” co-sponsor of the Medicare for All Act.
Kamala said, “I’ve always supported Medicare for All and I give credit to Bernie Sanders!”
Kamala supported enrolling illegal immigrants in Medicare.
Even CNN reported that Kamala Harris “fully embraced ‘Medicare-for-all’ single payer health insurance at a CNN town hall Monday and said she’s willing to end private insurance to make it happen.”
[…]
Kamala Harris now wants voters to think she “flip–flopped” on the border wall.
Kamala has always been consistent when it comes to border security, she supports open borders and is opposed to a border wall.
As a senator, she tried to block President Trump’s construction of the border wall.
And as Border Czar, Kamala Harris halted construction of the border wall.
Maybe if Kamala Harris sat down for an interview she could explain her views on the border wall, until then we can only look to her record of supporting open borders.
[…]
If Kamala wants to take a new position, she can emerge from hiding and explain herself — but until then, her far-left record of opposition to the border wall speaks for itself:
“I’ve joined my colleagues to introduce a bill that would rescind Trump’s order to construct the border wall.” (2017)
President Trump’s border wall is “un-American.” (2018)
President Trump’s border wall is a “medieval vanity project.” (2019)
“I’m not gonna vote for a [border] wall under any circumstances.” (2019)
“This issue is about a vanity project … that wall ain’t going to stop [illegals].” (2019)
“[President Trump’s] vanity project called a wall.” (2019)
“We don’t need to build a wall … it is not an emergency.” (2019)
“We cannot continue to have an administration and a president of the United States who puts his vanity projects ahead of the needs of the people.” (2019)
“Trump’s border wall is a complete waste of taxpayer money and won’t make us any safer.” (2020)
That says nothing of Kamala’s starring role in an administration that halted construction of President Trump’s border wall on their literal first day in office.
As everyone knows, the Associated Press is 100% trustworthy in every single quote they have ever covered. It truly seems like they are the only ones, apart from us at the Bee, who don’t add any bias or spin to their stories.
To commemorate the AP’s long and distinguished record of quoting people accurately, we at the Babylon Bee have put together 10 famous historical quotes as reported by the Associated Press:
“The only thing we have… is fear itself.” — Franklin D. Roosevelt: What a downer!
“That’s one small… man.” — Neil Armstrong: Everyone looks small from the moon, Neil.
“You miss one hundred percent of the shots you… take.” — Wayne Gretzky: Sometimes, the truth hurts.
“I am literally……. Hitler.” — Donald Trump: Can’t believe he just came out and said it.
“Ask not.” — John F. Kennedy: Words the Kamala campaign lives by.
“I have a dream that one day… little boys will be… little girls.” — Martin Luther King Jr.: Oh dear.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident: that men are… endowed… well.” — Declaration of Independence: A strange beginning to the American Revolution.
“Give me death!” — Patrick Henry: Not a smart request.
“December… will live in infamy” — Franklin D. Roosevelt: Gee, someone hates Christmas.
“I did… that woman.” — Bill Clinton: Okay, the AP might have gotten this one right.
Thanks for all your great work, AP!

On Aug. 25, 2024, Michael Snyder (endoftheamericandream.com) posted the following:
One day in the not-too-distant future, someone in the Middle East is going to push things too far, and it will set off a tsunami of destruction that will shock the entire planet. Israel is armed to the teeth, and Israel’s enemies are armed to the teeth. An all-out war in the Middle East should not be an option for anyone, but we are now dangerously close to such a conflict.
I know that Snyder was writing about a war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, and I totally agree with him, but as I was thinking about it, I thought we are dangerously close to:
Iran getting nuclear weapons.
The U.S. losing its sovereignty.
A worthless peace treaty that divides the Promised Land.
A global economic collapse.
Russia using nuclear weapons.
Another fake pandemic.
A global currency and the Mark of the Beast.
It gives me the impression that we are living in perilous times (II Tim. 3:1).
Here are recent reports on why I believe the end of the age is close.
One, concerning the ongoing threat of war between Iran’s proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon and Israel: on Aug. 28, 2024, the UN Security Council met to extend UNIFIL’s mandate in southern Lebanon for another year.
At the meeting, Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, presented evidence that Hezbollah is launching rockets into Israel from locations next to UN bases in Lebanon.
Danon had a message for the UN:
The UN is allowing Hezbollah to use UN soldiers as human shields.
The UN has 10,000 peacekeeping soldiers from 40 nations in Lebanon at a cost of more than half a billion dollars a year. (My note: They have been there since 2006, they are supposed to disarm all armed groups, they haven’t done it, and they haven’t done anything to bring peace.)
Danon had a message for Lebanon’s Ambassador:
You and your government have a choice to make. Confront Hezbollah or watch as your country is dragged into chaos and destruction. The time for action is now. Do not let Hezbollah and Iran dictate your future. If you fail to act, the devastation that follows will be on your hands.
Danon had a message for Hezbollah:
Withdraw now, or you will bear responsibility for the pains and ruins of Lebanon. The choice is yours!
(More: The U.N. Security Council passed a resolution with a demand that Israel and Hezbollah halt all hostilities. They warned that further escalation “carries the high risk of leading to a widespread conflict.”)
(More: On Aug. 30, 2024, Hezbollah said it will freeze its plans to attack Israel until further notice.)
Two, concerning a normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia (which some think will lead to a covenant of peace in the Middle East): on Aug. 28, 2024, Worthy News reported that “The administration of outgoing U.S. President Joe Biden still believes it can broker a normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia before the November U.S. presidential election.”
Three, concerning the destruction of Damascus, Syria, in one night: on Aug. 31, 2024, it was reported that several Israeli security experts said Israel has not been able to decrease the flow of Iranian weapons to Hezbollah through Syria, so Israel may have to expand its attacks on Syria.
Four, concerning tours on the Temple Mount and Jews worshiping there: on Aug. 26, 2024, Israel’s Heritage Ministry announced plans to launch guided tours of the Temple Mount.
On Aug. 28, 2024, Jordan asked the UN Security Council and global community to immediately halt Israel’s actions that it says are illegal and disruptive to the historical and legal status quo at Jerusalem’s sacred sites.
Five, concerning the effort to destroy Israel due to increased terrorist attacks in Judea and Samaria (Israel): on Sept. 3, 2024, Israel’s security forces announced that they will begin treating Judea and Samaria as a combat zone.
Six, concerning wars and rumors of wars and Russia’s threat to use nuclear weapons: on Aug. 28, 2024, it was reported that:
In response to Ukraine’s advancement into Kursk (Russian territory), Vladimir Putin is deploying another 30,000 troops to the front line, and he is bringing in troops, tanks, and trucks from Belarus.
Ukraine warned Belarus that “all troop concentrations, military facilities, and supply routes in Belarus will become legitimate targets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
North Korea has greatly increased its shipments of mobile rocket launchers, missiles, and other weapons to Russia.
(More: On Sept. 1, 2024, Russia’s foreign minister said Russia will amend its doctrine on the use of nuclear weapons in response to what it regards as Western escalation in the war in Ukraine.)
Seven, concerning the decline of America: on Aug. 23, 2024, it was reported that:
Experts on the US Congressional Commission on the National Defense Strategy released a 312-page assessment in late July, warning that the US military lacks both the capabilities and the capacity required to be confident it can deter and prevail in combat.
According to the report, in a hypothetical future conflict with China, the latter (China) would likely be aided, at least economically and possibly also militarily, by the likes of Russia, Iran, or North Korea. This would make the odds of a US victory increasingly slim, military experts predicted.
Unclassified public wargames suggest that, in a conflict with China, the United States would largely exhaust its munitions inventories in as few as three to four weeks, with some important munitions (e.g., anti-ship missiles) lasting only a few days.
According to the article, former Pres. Trump is claiming that the U.S. is running out of weapons and ammunition because our government is sending our stockpiles to Ukraine and not replacing them (and it is based on a congressional report).
Eight, concerning the decline of America: on Aug. 30, 2024, more than 30,000 Shiite Muslims (Muslims that believe what the terrorists Mullahs in Iran believe) marched through the streets of Dearborn, Michigan, waving Muslim flags (on U.S. soil), shaking their fists and protesting the death of Iranian Pres. Raisi (the butcher of Tehran).
Shiite Muslims call Israel the Little Satan, and they call America the Great Satan.
They force people to convert to their brand of Islam, and the report said Michigan officials were seemingly complicit with what these demonstrators were doing.
(More: On Aug. 29, 2024, it was reported that the Deputy Federal Chairman of the German Police Union (DPolG) said he can no longer remain silent, Germany’s open-border policies have unleashed a wave of Islamic violence on Germany, the people are no longer safe, and Germany’s government officials are whitewashing the problem.)
Nine, concerning wickedness at the end of the age: on Aug. 27, 2024, Israel freed an Oct. 7, 2023 hostage who was being held in a booby-trapped tunnel in Gaza.
The hostage told Israeli officials he was shot in the leg when he was captured, he was taken to Gaza, and the bullet was removed without him receiving a painkiller.
He also said he was next to one of the other hostages when he died, probably because they denied him essential medicine.
Ten, concerning pestilences: a study in the EU found that deaths among children 12-15 years old have increased by 335% since Covid vaccinations were authorized in week 21 of 2021.
Eleven, concerning world government and the loss of our freedoms: on Sept. 1, 2024, Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Correspondent, wrote that over the past month, there has been a notable assault on free speech, evidenced by,
The detention of Telegram’s head in France,
The banning of the platform X in Brazil,
Heavy fines imposed in Germany, and
Revelations of active censorship by the Biden administration on Facebook and Instagram.
(My opinion: We are dangerously close to the destruction of democracy in America, and the current administration, FBI, CIA, and others are doing everything they can to stop the MAGA movement. If they succeed, there may never be another fair election in America. For whatever it is worth, there is widespread agreement that the assassination attempt on former Pres. Trump looks suspicious.)
(More: On Sept. 1, 2024, there was a report (Dave Hodges, Hal Turner) that federal troops are being deployed to New York City because former Pres. Trump will be sentenced to prison, arrested, and jailed on Sept. 18, 2024. This appears to be an attempt to keep him from campaigning and cause him to lose the election. The arrest and prosecution of J6 protestors at the capital was a clear warning to those who believe the election was stolen.
(My opinion: I don’t know if Trump will be jailed or not, but if he is, I am wondering if he will have Secret Service protection in jail. The assassination attempt looks suspicious as well as the death of Jeffrey Epstein while he was in prison. Pray that all of this is wrong and nothing happens.)
Twelve, concerning the decline of America and a global economic collapse: on Aug. 31, 2024, it was reported that:
Approximately 126 nations will attend the BRICS Municipal Conference in Russia in October. All countries have indicated interest in joining the bloc and abandoning the US dollar.
As nations investigate alternative currencies and economic relationships, the US dollar’s dominance – long regarded as the world’s reserve currency – is at risk, as per the Dinar Chronicles.
(My opinion: It is my understanding that the impact may not be immediate, but it will eventually weaken the already fragile U.S. economy.)
Here is my daily update on the Israel-Hamas war.
Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024 (Day 327) The two-hundred seventy-second day of the resumed war. Day 114 of the attack on Rafah.
Hamas official Khaled Mashal called for a resumption of suicide bombings in the West Bank.
Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024 (Day 328) The two-hundred seventy-third day of the resumed war. Day 115 of the attack on Rafah.
Israel said they have found more than 150 tunnels on the border between Gaza and Egypt and have destroyed about 80% of them.
12 Israeli ministers called upon Netanyahu to stop letting the Red Cross visit Hamas terrorists in Israeli jails until Hamas starts letting the Red Cross visit the Oct. 7, 2023 hostages.
Friday, Aug. 30, 2024 (Day 329) The two-hundred seventy-fourth day of the resumed war. Day 116 of the attack on Rafah.
2 separate terrorist attacks by Muslims in Israel injured 3 Jews.
Israel struck several Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
The Iran-backed Houthis attacked another ship in the Red Sea (there were no injuries or significant damage).
Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024 (Day 330) The two-hundred seventy-fifth day of the resumed war. Day 117 of the attack on Rafah.
Israel reported that about 40 rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel.
Israel has now killed 26 terrorists and detained more than 30 suspects in the West Bank (in Israel).
Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024 (Day 331) The two-hundred seventy-sixth day of the resumed war. Day 118 of the attack on Rafah.
It was reported that the bodies of 6 hostages were recovered from a 65-foot-deep tunnel in Rafah a few days earlier, and they had all been recently murdered. Forensic experts said all of them had been shot in the head multiple times, and they were killed about 2 days earlier. Israel has now recovered the bodies of 12 hostages in the last 2 weeks.
Netanyahu said those who murder hostages don’t want a deal.
World leaders and others continue to push for a ceasefire and the release of all hostages, but Hamas rejects every offer.
In a drive-by shooting, Palestinian terrorists shot and killed 3 Israeli police officers in Israel.
Monday, Sept. 2, 2024 (Day 332) The two-hundred seventy-seventh day of the resumed war. Day 119 of the attack on Rafah.
Israel’s ambassador to the UN sent a letter to the UN Security Council requesting that they urgently convene to condemn Hamas in the strongest possible terms and to address the dire situation of the 101 hostages still held in captivity in Gaza.
Hamas released a video of the 6 hostages and their last message to the world before Hamas murdered them.
Netanyahu vowed that Hamas would pay a heavy price for killing the 6 hostages.
Biden and Harris will offer a final take it or leave it deal to Hamas today that could be the end of ceasefire negotiations if Hamas rejects it.
The Iran-backed Houthis attacked 2 more ships in the Red Sea (there were no injuries and only minor damage).
Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024 (Day 333) The two-hundred seventy-eighth day of the resumed war. Day 120 of the attack on Rafah.
Israel instructed her diplomats to urge Israel’s partners to act against Hamas and Iran for killing the 6 hostages because murdering them crosses a red line and is a shocking war crime by a murderous terrorist organization.
Israel killed a Hamas commander and 8 terrorists near a hospital in Gaza City (the commander had been filmed killing a hostage in front of his 2 sons).
The U.S. Justice Dept. announced the unsealing of terrorism, murder conspiracy, and sanctions-evasion charges against six senior leaders of Hamas.
It was reported that the Iranians are delivering money and weapons to the West Bank, and Israel’s leaders are preparing for a major terrorist attack in Israel.
Even though Israel has killed thousands of terrorists in Gaza, Hamas has recruited and deployed about 3,000 new terrorists in northern Gaza.
Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024 (Day 334) The two-hundred seventy-ninth day of the resumed war. Day 121 of the attack on Rafah.
Israel’s national min. said he is against a ceasefire agreement with Hamas because he doesn’t believe Israel should negotiate with murderers.
FYI: God does not send anyone to Hell (all of us are born with a sin nature and destined to go to Hell because we sin), but God has provided a way (Jesus) for everyone to go to Heaven (and Jesus is the only way to get there; John 14:6).
Finally, are you Rapture Ready?
If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.
The Gateway Pundit reported that Liz Cheney endorsed Kamala Harris, the most radical nominee in American history, during a college speech at Duke University.
Sticking to her modus operandi of trashing fellow Republicans (unless they are fellow turncoats like Adam Kinzinger), Cheney jumped at the opportunity to weigh in when the moderator asked if she wanted to “make history” by endorsing a presidential candidate.
Liz told the audience, “And as a conservative, someone who believes in and cares about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this. And because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only will I not be voting for Donald Trump, but I will be voting for Kamala Harris.”
Daddy Dick Cheney, the former vice president and architect of America’s foreign wars, also endorsed the radical Harris.
Dick, with apparently very few self-reflection skills and a memory that seems to have blacked out memories of his war-mongering days, called President Trump a “threat to our republic.”
President Trump savaged the two irrelevant RINOS on Truth Social.
“Dick Cheney is an irrelevant RINO, along with his daughter, who lost by the largest margin in the History of Congressional Races!”
“They couldn’t get Scooter Libby, who did so much for them (but was so unfairly treated!), PARDONED. I did it!”
“He’s the King of Endless, Nonsensical Wars, wasting Lives and Trillions of Dollars, just like Comrade Kamala Harris.”
“I am the Peace President, and only I will stop World War III!”
“What Liz Cheney did with the Unselect Committee of Political Losers is unthinkable. She and her Unselects deleted and destroyed all evidence and information – IT’S GONE. Much of it proved that Nancy Pelosi was responsible for J6 – DIDN’T PROVIDE SECURITY.”
“Cheney and the others should be prosecuted for what they did, but Comrade Kamala is even worse!”
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Insiders within the party that just had its candidate endorsed by Vladimir Putin and Dick Cheney report that its voters are starting to wonder if perhaps they took a wrong turn somewhere.
According to a top-ranking official in the DNC who spoke on condition of anonymity, Kamala’s recent endorsements have left insiders a bit unsettled. “I mean, Dick Cheney? Seriously?” said the woman. “I’m really starting to question where we might have gone astray. So far, we have the support of Iran, Hamas, Putin, and Dick Cheney. That is…not a great list.”
Democrat strategists are reportedly working around the clock to develop a way to keep the worst people on the planet from announcing their support for Harris. Potential ideas thus far include broadcasting Kamala’s cackle in cities five times a day, doing a cringe Tik-Tok dance, or buying more Doritos from truck stops.
“I could handle Putin and Iran, I guess. But, Dick Cheney??” said local Democrat Sandra Denison. “It’s time to take a long, hard look in the mirror.”
At publishing time, the Democrat party had reportedly asked if anyone named Cheney would please, please reconsider their endorsement.
BIG NEWS: We made a movie, and you can watch the trailer NOW:
Americans Are Desperately Waiting For The Greatest Jobs President Ever To Return To The White House
Last week’s jobs report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics presented an absolutely nightmarish scenario for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Based on the report, the economy lost over 438,000 full-time jobs, continuing a harrowing trend of paltry job growth since mid-June of last year. Outside of government services, virtually no new jobs were created whatsoever. Perhaps most distressing of all, a staggering 1.3 million native-born American jobs, across every demographic group, have been lost over the past year. Meanwhile, 1.2 million jobs have been created for foreign-born workers, a significant portion of these being illegal laborers, who have flooded our country to the tune of tens of millions as a result of the catastrophic immigration policies of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
These troublesome reports have reverberated across the national economy. As of Friday’s closing, all three of the Nasdaq Composite (-2.5%), the S&P 500 (-1.7%), and Dow Jones Industrial Average (-1%) experienced their worst week in over a year, resulting in trillions of dollars being wiped out in the biggest market sell-off of the year. What is more, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported a measly 142,000 new jobs were added to our economy in August, an exceedingly mediocre figure, but which only tells part of the story. Most of those jobs, based on a deep dive into the data, were in government services or to foreign workers – in other words, effectively part time work, at best, and not in industries that add real value to the gross domestic product. Speaking of GDP, the overall economy decelerated to an abysmal 0.6% growth in the third quarter of this year – compare that with the 4.6% growth experienced during the third quarter of 2019, when the economy was humming along – adding record numbers of jobs every quarter – under the Trump presidency.
Bad as these numbers are, they are poised to get much worse over the next quarter as signs of a recession loom large. Later this month, the Federal Reserve will likely cut interest rates by either a quarter or a half of a percentage point – in a last-ditch attempt to stimulate a lackluster economy out of recessionary waters. This boost is especially needed in light of the bleak jobs report, which removed jobs that were mistakenly added in July and June because the government overcounted. What accounts for the overestimation? Clearly politics: to help make the Biden-Harris jobs record seem much better than it is, which, to be fair, is a daunting task indeed.
But the truth of things has a way of revealing itself in time, which is why Jay Powell will likely cut the federal funds rate by the more aggressive 50 basis points later this month. This will almost certainly exacerbate the still-rampant inflation that erodes the value of our dollar, affecting everything from the price of groceries, like eggs and milk, to gasoline, to housing. The tradeoff for more inflation to artificially boost economic growth is of course one that is infected with political bias – the Federal Reserve is working hand-in-glove with the Biden-Harris administration to delay the pain of the recession, which many economists believe has already come, until after November 5th, to try to again help Kamala.
But even with that handicap, Kamala’s promise of price controls, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), and massive taxation will likely be sufficient to send investors – both institutional and mom and pop – running for the hills, and, hopefully, into Donald Trump’s corner. This remains true, even despite the mainstream media’s vain attempt to contrive a narrative that a few lunatic “business leaders” – far from a representative sample of corporate America — have come out in support of Harris. Far from embodying America’s business community at large, Kamala’s coterie is a slipshod sampling of corporate misfits: a community led by the harebrained Mark Cuban (who, on X, has a reputation of being the “dumbest billionaire in America”) and LinkedIn-founder Reid Hoffman, who is financing the lawfare against Donald Trump that has done irreparable damage to our criminal justice system — and country.
But the true sentiment of America’s top investors, economists, and business leaders and innovators was on full display at the Economic Club of New York conference held this past week in Manhattan, where the 45th President spoke about reviving the American Dream through grand new plans like major infrastructure projects and rebuilding America’s manufacturing base. The President also discussed implementing tariffs on Chinese and other imports, cutting corporate tax rates down to 21% from 35%, and slashing taxes on tips and social security payments, both of which have become fan favorites on the campaign trail this election season.
But the American Dream will be put on an indefinite halt – and likely killed off for good, if Kamala Harris, with her neo-Marxist policies, is permitted to sweep herself into the Oval Office. At which point, the kind of instability now observed in this week’s devastating job metrics will be sent into overdrive. The road to serfdom will be paved by Kamalanomics, which is the agenda of Bidenomics, which has already triggered a recession that the mainstream media is starting to begrudgingly come around to, on steroids. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, in sharp contrast with Donald Trump, would not know how to create a job if their lives depended on it. They are government bureaucrats at heart — sharing the socialist mentality and overall perspective to job creation of an administrator or bureuacrat, not an entrepreneur.
Kamala Harris does not think concretely, much less creatively. She cannot conceptualize what steps it would take, in the real world, to revitalize our once robust free enterprise system, that has now fallen behind adversaries like China, India, and Brazil – in just a few short years.
This explains the shocking disappearances of hundreds of thousands of jobs from the August BLS report. And these losses are not, as the New York Times and Economist took pains to euphemistically code on Friday, due to a “cooling” labor market, or the mere result of an “autumn chill” – but due to a recession, whose signs are everywhere. One could well argue that we’re only starting to feel the pains of a recession now, in the fourth year of the Biden administration, because President Trump’s labor market – the sheer number of jobs he created in real industries – was so strong that it offset the sharpest edges of Bidenomics, which is finally, finally showing its ugly head now.
In short, President Trump in certain ways is the victim of having done too good a job in his first term – off whose coattails the Biden administration rode, taking undeserved credit for a much stronger economy that belonged entirely to his predecessor. To the extent Biden can stake a claim in this economy’s performance, it would be the record-setting inflation, ruined supply chains, anemic growth, and even high unemployment — by some estimates, close to 9%.
Any benefits — now quickly vanishing — should accrue to Donald Trump, who made good during his first term on his then campaign pledge to become “the greatest jobs president that God ever created” – God was so good to him and the country that Biden unduly profited from it three and a half years after Trump stepped out of public life! Though now, at long last, the chickens are coming home to roost – and regular Americans are feeling the pain.
Even with the millions of jobs being created for illegal aliens and foreign born workers generally, at the expense of American laborers, labor force growth rates under Biden and Harris have still not caught up to the pre-pandemic trend under President Trump, according to the analysis of E.J. Antoni, an economist for the Heritage Foundation. The revisions to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ jobs report underscores this trend – when government statisticians overestimate the number of jobs added to a particular sector, the difference between the higher expectations and the reality usually indicates something quite grim. If companies are not reporting job additions, either they lack the resources to hire new employees, or, more likely than not, have gone kaput and shut their doors altogether.

If a company does not timely report back to the Bureau, and that trend becomes widespread across the economy, usually that points to something more sinister afoot than simple absentmindedness on part of employers. Perhaps the in-house reporter for a company cannot report back because his job no longer exists – in other words, the company went insolvent. Government jobs, which have been the most significant driver of growth in the Biden-Harris economy, are fueled by government spending – if government revenue, funded by the taxpayer, is inadequate to expand the size of some agency, the Treasury can simply print more money to cover the difference. But that bit of economic voodooism is not shared by private companies, who deal in the real world, and are thus inevitably forced to engage in layoffs if costs outweigh total revenue. That, in a nutshell, is what is being seen with these revisions to the BLS’s report, and more broadly, speaks to the incredible fickleness of the American system of free enterprise, now under siege by radicals who have overtaken our government and are doing everything in their power to manage this country’s decline to ruin.
The United States of America, once the beacon of freedom and prosperity the world over, increasingly resembles a third-world nation, with crumbling infrastructure, inefficient services, and a banana republic-like justice system that is more obsessed with persecuting political opponents than cracking down on violent crime. A justice system that forfeits its principal duty to preserve private property, the necessary ingredient of free enterprise, will have catapulted the society it governs down a very dark and ruinous course, one that may already be beyond repair – but surely will under a Kamala Harris administration.
Despite the opposition and hostility he faced in the city of Philippi, the Apostle Paul remained faithful to the preaching of God’s Word, leading many of his listeners to examine Scripture for themselves. In this sermon, R.C. Sproul discusses Paul’s unwavering commitment to the truth of Scripture, urging believers to rely on the Word of God as the foundation for their faith and witness.
