Are You Really Saved? 10 Ways To Know If You’re Born Again | WRETCHED TV episode 2443
Todd Friel and Dr. Steve Lawson explore the serious issue of false converts within the church, urging viewers to examine their faith through a ten-point test from 1 John. They emphasize that true conversion is more than just saying you believe—it results in a radically transformed life.
ARE YOU REALLY SAVED? 10 WAYS TO KNOW IF YOU’RE BORN AGAIN

TODAY’S BIBLE READING CHALLENGE:
Isaiah 15:1-18:7
Galatians 1:1-24
Psalm 58:1-11
Proverbs 23:12
Isaiah 16:6 — Pride brings judgment. If God judged Moab for their pride, how much more will He judge us for our pride?
Isaiah 17:7-8 — Judgment is to point man to his Maker. Amazing that man can make objects with his fingers, and then put his trust in those objects. We’ve seen in Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles example after example of kings (even good kings like Hezekiah) not turning to God until all else had failed. Especially what we saw in Isaiah 7 with Ahaz refusing Isaiah’s declaration of deliverance.
Isaiah 17:10 — How soon we forget the LORD! The Children of Israel who walked through the Red Sea started murmuring almost as soon as the waters returned. America itself has seen waves of revival, but then it returns to apathy soon after.
Isaiah 18:1 — What land is this? From Ellicott’s Commentary for English Readers:
A new kingdom, hitherto unnamed by Isaiah, comes now within his horizon. The movements of Tirhakah, king of Cush or Ethiopia, from the upper valley of the Nile, subduing Egypt, and prepared to enter into conflict with the great Assyrian king (Isaiah 37:9), had apparently excited the hopes of such of Hezekiah’s counsellors as put their trust in an arm of flesh. To these Isaiah now turns with words of warning.
Galatians 1:1 — Paul starts out jumping right into his thesis – the gospel is not from man but from Jesus Christ, risen from the dead!
Galatians 1:6 — Paul has been declaring the attributes of Jesus:
These people have abandoned the power of Jesus for something else.
Galatians 1:7 — Paul clarifies his statement in the previous verse. The English word “another” in vs. 6 is “heteros” (referring to something completely different, like apples and oranges); the English word “another” in vs. 7 is “allos” (referring to something that’s of a different sort, like McIntosh vs. Granny Smith).
From Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words:
Allos expresses a numerical difference and denotes “another of the same sort”; heteros expresses a qualitative difference and denotes “another of a different sort.”
Galatians 1:8-9 — “Accursed” in Greek is “anathema.” It sounds “tolerant” to say that all roads lead to heaven. It may seem “intolerant” to declare that there is only one way to God, but that’s what the Bible teaches (Acts 4:12). Even more so, it is unkind and unloving to not warn someone of the curse coming (Ezekiel 33:6).
Galatians 1:12 — Paul is declaring that the Gospel is superior to any other teaching. Greater than anything given by any other man or even an angel from heaven. The Apostle says he was the least likely convert (Galatians 1:13-14) to the message revealed by the Father through the Son (Galatians 1:16). Paul went three years before even seeing Peter once (Galatians 1:18).
Galatians 1:23 — Only God can change a heart like that! Paul’s testimony encouraged others to glorify God!
Psalm 58:6 — When the wicked are surrounding you and it seems hopeless, do not seek for personal vengeance. Give it to the LORD (Deuteronomy 32:35, Romans 12:19)!
Proverbs 23:12 — The message of Proverbs. Unfortunately, too many fail to apply it.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14)
Sin will reign if it can: it cannot be satisfied with any place below the throne of the heart. We sometimes fear that it will conquer us, and then we cry unto the Lord, “Let not any iniquity have dominion over me. This is His comforting answer: “Sin shall not have dominion over you. ” It may assail you and even wound you, but it shall never establish sovereignty over you.
If we were under the law, our sin would gather strength and hold us under its power; for it is the punishment of sin that a man comes under the power of sin. As we are under the covenant of grace, we are secured against departing from the living God by the sure declaration of the covenant. Grace is promised to us by which we are restored from our wanderings, cleansed from our impurities, and set free from the chains of habit.
We must lie down in despair and be “content to serve the Egyptians” if we were still as slaves working for eternal life; but since we are the Lord’s free men, we take courage to fight with our corruptions and temptations, being assured that sin shall never bring us under its sway again. God Himself giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
The following is food for thought regarding God’s omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience. I define them, work with them, and attempt to draw logical conclusions as they relate to the sovereignty of the Trinity, our existence, the existence of evil, and our free will. The goal is to provide an understanding of God’s greatness and control in the universe, as demonstrated by Scripture and according to God’s attributes.
The three attributes of God under consideration are:

Chilling backdoor plot involving savage Ohio Haitian migrants is being hidden from the American people…
Why is there a horde of uncivilized Haitian migrants overrunning the red state of Ohio? Bankruptcies Spike Again As America’s Economic Slowdown Accelerates
Large businesses are declaring bankruptcy at a staggering rate, and yet we are being told over and over again that the economy is just fine. Needless to say, most of the country isn’t buying it…Of course anyone with half a brain should be able to see the truth, because day after day we just continue to get more troubling economic numbers. For example, it is being reported that U.S. corporate bankruptcies “spiked” during the month of August…
An Ultra-Violent Migrant Gang Is Shooting Police Officers, Trafficking Young Women And Raping Kids
There are certainly many migrants that are coming here…because they want to create a better life for themselves. But…there are others that are coming here for other reasons. Throwing the back door wide open for vast numbers of criminals that intend to cause all sorts of mayhem once they arrive in our major cities is extremely foolish. We are literally committing national suicide, and many of our leaders don’t seem to care.

ABC News’s David Muir asked the leadoff question to open the debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, which dealt with the most important issue for voters: the economy. And arguably, it was the best question the moderators asked all night. As Muir put it:
I want to begin tonight with the issue voters repeatedly say is their number one issue, and that is the economy and the cost of living in this country. Vice President Harris, you and President Biden were elected four years ago, and your opponent on the stage here tonight often asks his supporters, are you better off than you were four years ago? When it comes to the economy, do you believe Americans are better off than they were four years ago?
This question has become a feature of presidential debates ever since Ronald Reagan raised and popularized it against incumbent Jimmy Carter in the only debate of the 1980 campaign. Knowing that Americans have suffered under a bad economy over the past three and a half years of the Biden/Harris administration, Harris dodged the question.
She instead noted what she called her plan to build “an opportunity economy,” which, as she described it, was nothing other than a list of more government handouts — raising the child tax credit to $6,000 and raising the small business start-up tax deduction to $50,000. She avoided any mention of the Soviet-style price controls she rolled out last month. That’s because it was widely and deservedly panned by economists on both sides of the aisle. In short, Harris’s answer is the same policies that ignited high inflation beginning in April 2021 — a repeat of the last three and a half years.
Meanwhile, Trump responded to the same question by pointing out just how high inflation is. “We have inflation like very few people have ever seen before,” he said with typical drama. “Probably the worst in our nation’s history. We were at 21%. But that’s being generous because many things are 50, 60, 70, and 80% higher than they were just a few years ago. This has been a disaster for people, for the middle class, but for every class.”
Trump is right, though he typically depends on friendly audiences understanding what he’s getting at so he doesn’t have to explain. The Harris campaign and Leftmedia insist that the current rate of inflationary growth has fallen to just 2.5%.
This, however, obfuscates rather than illuminates. Trump actually nailed the truth of the Biden/Harris years. Overall, since early 2021, the average cost of living for Americans has risen by more than 20% — and on many goods and services, like Trump said, more like 50% to 80%. That has everything to do with high inflation ignited by the Biden/Harris American Rescue Plan.
Harris avoids the fact that she is part of the Biden/Harris administration, whose massive spending policies spurred our 40-year-high inflation. Harris would rather pretend like she doesn’t know Joe Biden.
Furthermore, it took years for Americans’ inflation-adjusted median household income to match 2019 numbers. During most of the Biden/Harris administration, Americans have suffered through higher cost of living with insufficient wage gains.
The opposite was the case under Trump, when the median household income increased rapidly up until the COVID pandemic hit. Trump should have spent more time during the debate repeatedly hitting Harris on this. Rather than vague references to greatest or worst, he should have hammered home the fact that life under the Biden/Harris administration has been costly for the working class. Instead of taking the bait on questions about rallies or J6, he should have reminded Americans of the prosperity they enjoyed during his administration versus the lack thereof ever since.
Under Biden/Harris, Americans have suffered under crushing price increases. What limited economic policy positions Harris has trotted out would likely only give us more of the same, juiced once again by runaway spending.
Deregulating, keeping taxes low or even reducing them further, and cutting government spending are practical economic measures that would help Americans across the board. These policies would allow workers and families to keep more of their hard-earned dollars and help lower the cost of living by lowering inflation.
To answer Muir’s question, Americans are not better off today than they were four years ago. But a return to Trump’s economic policies would benefit all working Americans.

Moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis tried to graciously provide viewers with real-time fact checks during the Presidential Debate last night, but as noble as their intentions were, those imperfect humans overlooked just a few teensy items.
Here’s what our respected Bee Fact Checker panel uncovered:
Claim #1
Trump: “Hello, my name is Donald Trump.”
False. His name is Donald John Trump. While it’s unclear why Trump would deliberately withhold his middle name, one thing is certain; Donald John Trump is a liar.
Claim #2
Trump: “Tim Walz shaves his legs.”
False. While Walz’s legs are indeed as smooth as marble, he does not shave his legs — he waxes his legs.
Claim #3
Trump: “Madden 2002 is the best sports game ever made. You could knock the helmets off of players.”
False. NFL Quarterback Club 98 exists. Duh.
Claim #4
Trump: “Trump supporters didn’t kill anyone on January 6.”
False. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was killed 13 times that day.
Claim #5
Muir: “There is no credible evidence cats are being killed by Haitian immigrants.”
True. They are only killing geese and dogs. And some humans. But no cats.
Claim #6
Harris: “I’m doing a good job.”
False. She’s doing a GREAT job.
Claim #7
Davis: “In some states in this country it is legal to kill a baby after it is born.”
False. Well, technically it’s true, but it sounds bad. So let’s say false.
Claim #8
Muir: “Good night.”
False. It was not a good night, David. IT SUCKED.
We hope this sets the record straight on the lies of everyone involved.

Parts of the country are battling heavy rain, wind, and the risk of tornadoes as what was Hurricane Francine makes its way inland. Economic issues took top billing in Tuesday’s Presidential debate. Now new numbers give insight to the actual state of U.S. inflation. The impact of inflation on Americans’ bank accounts is extending to churches. New data shows giving didn’t keep pace over the past year. After this week’s Presidential debate, many American voters are still pondering which set of policies to embrace Donald Trump’s or those of Kamala Harris.

‘Hannity’ panelists react to the ABC News Presidential Debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump (Credit: ABC News). #foxnews
Source: Tomi Lahren: Trump walked into an ‘ambush’ and ‘buzzsaw’

Megyn Kelly went nuclear on ABC following their disgraceful performance during Tuesday nights debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
The former Fox and NBC host, who has restyled herself as somewhat of a conservative firebrand since leaving mainstream media back in 2020, said she was “ashamed and disgusted” by ABC and exposed the close friendship between Kamala Harris and network bosses:
Here is her response in full:
I’m disgusted. I’m ashamed of those moderators at ABC News. They did exactly what their bosses wanted them to do. The person who runs ABC News is a close personal friend of Kamala Harris and is responsible for Kamala Harris and her husband meeting. They did Dana Walden’s bidding tonight. It was three against one on that debate stage this evening.
Hi, everyone. I’m Megyn Kelly. A special program tonight for you, reacting to the debate. It was three against one. It’s very easy to look like you know what you’re doing when both moderators are entirely on your side.
Trump did the best he could under the circumstances, but it really was like three fighters in the ring pummeling one opponent, and Trump tried to take them all on. He did fine.
He did the best he could. He was thrown off a few times, to the point where he was unnecessarily defensive and getting angry. And so was I. Were you?
This was a mistake to trust ABC News with this debate. The Republicans must learn from this mistake the same way the Democrats never, ever agree to do anything with moderators they don’t entirely trust.
This should be the last time the Republicans ever do this because those two moderators tried to sink Donald Trump tonight.
The numerous fact-checks on what he said and none on what she said — none. I don’t remember a single fact-check of anything she said, and she lied repeatedly. She just got away with it in the moderators’ eyes.
That was Donald Trump’s job to fact-check her. That’s correct, except you didn’t employ that same tactic when it came to Trump. And you accused him of lying, even when it was just your opinion that he lied.
When Trump tried to say that his comment that he lost 2020 by a whisker was him being sarcastic, David Muir actually interjected, saying, “I didn’t hear sarcasm.”
Who gives a shit what you heard? Who died and left you political analyst-in-chief? You’re supposed to be the objective news anchor of *World News Tonight.* That’s a comment you make to your significant other, David, not in the debates. “It didn’t sound like that to me.” Shut up. That is inappropriate. It’s not for you to make that call.
Leave it up to Kamala Harris, leave it up to people like me who will play the sound bite and let the audience decide. But you were out of line, and they did it to him over and over and over again.
The worst part of all of this is the obvious tactic by ABC News, which was as follows: “Mr. Trump, you said something incredibly controversial and terrible. Let me remind you of what it was.
Do you have any regrets or thoughts on how terrible you were?” Trump answers. “Vice President Harris, how bad is Trump?” And then she’d answer. It happened over and over again. That was the format. “Mr. Trump, you’re a piece of shit. Kamala Harris, isn’t he a shit?” Thank you. It was incredible. And then anything Trump said, fact-check, fact-check, fact-check, and their fact-checks were full of shit.
I’m swearing even more than normal right now because I’m mad. I’m angry. I’m angry at them, at ABC, at my industry that I want nothing to do with.
And I’ve never been happier to be outside and be able to say how I truly feel—and yes, even with some colorful words because that’s what the situation calls for. They’re trying to steal this election. They are openly working to sink him.
I think it was so bad, their bias against him and toward her, that it’s going to backfire. I actually think the American public is going to see through this, and there’s probably going to be some empathy for Trump.

Trump, meanwhile, has so far not complained about the debate and instead focused on the quality of his own performance.
“The choice could not be more clear— President Trump was the clear winner tonight, and he will win for America when he returns to the White House,” his campaign said in a statement after the debate.

Large businesses are declaring bankruptcy at a staggering rate, and yet we are being told over and over again that the economy is just fine. Needless to say, most of the country isn’t buying it. Survey after survey has shown that most Americans believe that the economy is on the wrong track. But those that are running things continue to push their “booming economy” narrative anyway, and I suppose that will continue all the way through the election in November. Of course anyone with half a brain should be able to see the truth, because day after day we just continue to get more troubling economic numbers. For example, it is being reported that U.S. corporate bankruptcies “spiked” during the month of August…
U.S. bankruptcy filings spiked in August after a slowdown in July, propelling the total for the first eight months of the year to the highest level since 2020 and second-highest since 2010, S&P Global Market Intelligence said Monday.
There were 452 filings in the year through end August, which compares with 466 in the same period in 2020, when the pandemic was still in full swing, and 604 in the same period in 2010.
In August alone, the tally comes to 63, up from a revised 49 in July. That was the third-highest monthly total this year, behind 72 in June and 68 in April.
You can see a list of corporations that filed for bankruptcy in August right here.
It is a very long list.
The last time that corporate bankruptcies were this high was during the early days of the pandemic in 2020.
But this time around, we don’t have lockdowns to blame for the tsunami of corporate bankruptcies that we are witnessing.
Prior to 2020, we have to go all the way back to 2010 to find a time when corporate bankruptcies were this high.
Needless to say, we were just coming out of the Great Recession in 2010.
Sadly, it appears that September will be another banner month for bankruptcies. BurgerFi is hundreds of millions of dollars in debt, and it just filed for Chapter 11 protection on Wednesday…
An upmarket US burger chain is the latest restaurant business to file for bankruptcy – as casualties in the industry mount up.
BurgerFi – which also owns Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza – sought Chapter 11 protection at a Delaware court on Wednesday. It has as much as $500 million of debts.
Across the two brands, the company has 162 locations – including a flagship BurgerFi in New York that only opened a few months ago. All are under threat.
So many restaurant chains are in very serious trouble these days.
If you have a favorite eatery that you really enjoy, you might want to visit it now while you still can, because a lot more restaurants are going to close in the months ahead.
Meanwhile, small business confidence was way down last month…
Small business confidence fell in August and reversed the prior month’s gains amid growing uncertainty ahead of the Nov. 5 presidential election and expectations that sales will be sluggish.
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) said Tuesday that its Small Business Optimism Index dropped 2.5 points to 91.2 last month.
In this economic environment, small businesses are hurting even more than large businesses are.
Of course there is more than enough pain to go around. At this point, most U.S. consumers are really struggling because the cost of living crisis never seems to end.
Since Joe Biden entered the White House, the cost of just about everything is way up…
Gas: +46.1%
Electricity: +30.7%
Fuel oil: +43.4%
Airfare: +21%
Hotels: +49.4%
Groceries: +21.5%
Baby food: +29.5%
K-12 food: +66.2%
Rent: +22.5%
Transportation: +32%
Car insurance: +54.9%
Overall inflation: +20.3%
Real average weekly earnings: -3.4%
I am glad that car insurance was included on that list.
Over the past few years, car insurance premiums have risen to absolutely absurd levels…
A new report published by Insurify, an insurance comparison shopping site, shows the average U.S. rate for full auto insurance surged to $2,329 in the first half of 2024. That marks a 15% increase from 2023 and a stunning 48% spike when compared with 2021.
By the end of 2024, the cost of coverage is expected to rise even further, to $2,469, according to the report.
The problem is even worse in some states, where prices are projected to rise more than 50% this year.
What a disaster.
We are facing 1970s-style inflation at the same time that we are facing 2008-style layoffs.
Earlier today, I was saddened to learn that UPS has decided to conduct another round of layoffs…
Sandy Springs-based UPS is laying off more of its employees, after earlier this year announcing it was cutting 12,000 jobs in its management ranks.
The company did not specify how many employees are losing their jobs in the latest round of cuts, but said Monday night that the layoffs are part of ongoing efforts since the January announcement of reductions. It was not clear which departments were affected and how many of the cuts might be in the Atlanta area.
And apparently close to a third of all Samsung employees in some divisions of the company are about to get the boot…
Samsung is starting to lay off staff globally, impacting up to 30% of employees in some divisions by the end of this year, according to three sources familiar with the scope of the layoffs, Reuters reports Wednesday.
Sales and marketing departments are reportedly being reduced by 15%, while up to 30% of administrative staff are expected to be laid off. Samsung has about 25,000 sales and marketing staff, according to the report, meaning over 3,700 employees may be included in the layoffs.
Our economy has been declining for years.
Our standard of living has just kept going down, bankruptcies have been surging to frightening levels, and large businesses have been conducting mass layoffs.
But the elite just keep putting on a happy face and telling us that everything is going to be okay.
Unfortunately, nothing that they can do is going to stop the chaos that has already started to erupt all around us.
Bad decisions inevitably lead to bad consequences, and we have been making bad decisions for a really, really long time.

The post Bankruptcies Spike Again As America’s Economic Slowdown Accelerates appeared first on The Economic Collapse.
Believe it or not, journalists are not at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to being trusted the least by the American public. According to the most recent annual Gallup poll of attitudes towards various professions, those ranked lower than the press include lawyers, insurance and car salespeople, business executives, stockbrokers, advertisers and (no surprise) politicians. Members of Congress have the dubious distinction of being the worst of the lot with only 6% of the public having a high degree of trust in them.
That 19% of the public still trusts journalists is surprising but nothing to boast about. Indeed, it could be argued that the fact that less than a fifth of the citizenry have faith in what they read, hear and see via the news media is even worse than the low totals for some other professions. After all, you may not trust those who sell you insurance, cars or stocks, but they do sell items that presumably have some value. But if you don’t believe a word you read in The New York Times or hear from, say, ABC News, then nothing they do is worth a cent. Given the vital theoretical role that a free press plays in a functioning democracy in terms of its ability to keep the government and other powerful institutions honest and accountable, a widespread belief that the media is not only untrustworthy but in the pockets of the state undermines any notion that we live in a truly free country.
We got a reminder of why that matters in this week’s presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. I would argue that it didn’t fundamentally alter the widespread conclusion (shared by me) that Harris got much the better of the confrontation. Still, the decision of the two ABC News moderators—David Muir and Linsey Davis—to blatantly take her side throughout the two-hour slog didn’t just call into question the fairness of the disputation. It was also a confirmation of the bias of the two journalists and their network.
An increasingly woke profession
This is a familiar theme to supporters of Israel, who have watched with dismay in recent decades as unfair coverage of the Jewish state has fueled efforts to delegitimize its existence and right to defend itself while demonizing virtually everything it does. In the past year since the Oct. 7 massacre in southern Israel, this bias has been particularly painful as supposedly credible publications and networks have acted as the enablers of Hamas terrorists, repeating every lie about Israel the murderers and rapists utter. This is not merely unhelpful to Israel’s cause. It has become a major factor in the surge in antisemitism felt in the streets of American cities and on university campuses where anti-Israel, pro-Hamas mobs have targeted Jews.
All of this means that no matter who you plan to vote for in November or what you think of Harris and Trump, the collapse of media credibility must be seen as a potentially lethal threat to American democracy and Jewish life. At this point, it’s not enough to merely decry media bias and seek to get outlets to correct their mistakes, as important as that task may be. We must understand how and why this bias, which can make itself felt in both domestic political arguments as well as those involving foreign policy, has come about. More to the point, as is the case with the collapse of higher education due to its takeover by woke ideologues, it’s high time for more consumers of the news to simply stop pretending as if the liberal corporate press should be trusted at all.
That almost all of what is loosely called the legacy media, which includes mainstream publications like The New York Times and The Washington Post, broadcast networks and cable-news outlets like CNN and MSNBC—leans increasingly hard to the left is not seriously questioned by anyone but the journalists themselves and hard-core leftists who complain they aren’t biased enough against conservatives, and especially, Trump. Since he won the 2016 election and following the moral panic induced by the Black Lives Matter summer of 2020, many practitioners of journalism at these outlets are ready to say openly that they view their purpose as being essentially political activism and not the objective pursuit of truth.
What that means is that they use their bully pulpits to skew news coverage to make political and ideological points, covering up for politicians they favor and ruthlessly smearing those they dislike. Whereas previous generations of journalists could be said to lean left, for the most part, they understood that the public wanted them to report the news fairly and at least sought to pretend to do so, even when they showed bias. The younger generation of journalists (in contrast to the past, when they were more likely to come from the working class and not have college degrees or sometimes even high school ones) is almost always the recipients of education at elite institutions. There they were indoctrinated in woke myths about race, intersectionality and unquestioning belief in “progressive” political causes. And like the situation on so many campuses, this creates a groupthink atmosphere in newsrooms in which mobs bully dissenters into silence or out the door.
There are plenty of places where the liberal conventional wisdom of the day is questioned, albeit usually in smaller outlets that struggle to gain the respect the legacy media takes for granted. Though there are conservative publications and networks—not to mention talk-radio shows, where the other side of the arguments of the day can be aired, and which, of course, exhibit their own brand of bias—the left’s dominance over most of what is termed mainstream media is almost complete. The ties between these journalistic institutions and those that serve the political and foreign-policy establishments, not to mention popular culture and the arts, are close.
Journalists fueling antisemitism
The ability of the left to dominate the national conversation undermines the long-held belief that journalists play a key role in the democratic process, by which the policies of any government can be held up to scrutiny and candidates can similarly expect to be held accountable. If mainstream journalists are only doing this to one side of the political divide while giving a pass to the other, especially when already in power, the public is given the impression that what we have is not a free press but a state media that can be expected to toe the party line in the same manner as authoritarian or totalitarian regimes.
The same process applies to the coverage of Israel and antisemitism. It is almost universally expected now that the Jewish state’s efforts to defend itself—even against the barbaric tactics of a genocidal Islamist terrorist group like Hamas and its tyrannical Iranian backers—will always be covered unfairly. In the past, most media bias against Israel was rooted in ignorance, sloppiness and the natural inclination of journalists to always tell a story from the side of the perceived underdog, which, despite the size and power of the forces arrayed against the one small Jewish nation on the planet, is the way the world views the Palestinian Arabs who seek to destroy it.
In recent years, it’s become clear that the problem with the coverage of Israel is more a matter of ideology than a lack of knowledge about the history of the conflict in the Middle East. Just as the left’s stranglehold on college faculties and administrations has created an atmosphere in which most professors and students believe the intersectional lie that Israel is an illegitimate “settler/colonial” state of “white” oppressors, the same is now true of the liberal media, most of whose personnel have already received the same indoctrination.
The cost of media bias
Concerning the Harris-Trump contest, the decision of the ABC moderators to “fact check” Trump in real time put them in the position of abandoning the role of neutral arbiters and askers of questions. At least one of them, Muir, at times, seemed to be an active participant in the debate in which he sought to assist Harris. Trump’s usual employment of hyperbole, which is often loosely connected to the objective facts, leaves him open to fact-checking.
But the same could be said of Harris, whose not insignificant list of whoppers included the recycling of lies about Trump calling neo-Nazis “very fine people” or threatening a literal bloodbath of the citizenry if he was returned to office; opposition to IVF procedures; or his connection to the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 (which was itself mischaracterized). That those weren’t challenged and her own statements characterizing antisemitic, pro-Hamas mobs as, for all intents and purposes, “very fine people,” illustrate that the proceedings were skewed in her favor. Muir and Davis were deserving of fact checks, too, since they lied about state abortion laws and mindlessly repeated Hamas’s false statistics about Palestinian casualties in Gaza.
The two moderators clearly feared being the recipients of the abuse hurled at CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, who, despite being personally on the left, played it down the middle without any partisan “fact checks,” when they moderated the June 27 debate between Trump and President Joe Biden, during which the latter self-destructed.
That doesn’t mean that Harris didn’t best the unfocused and easily distracted Trump in the debate. Nor does it necessarily dictate that she ought not to win the election. But it did send a signal to the half of the country that is inclined to support Trump that they shouldn’t take seriously anything said or published about the race on ABC or any other mainstream outlet.
It is axiomatic that we are now a bifurcated nation in which the two opposing political camps read, listen and watch different journalistic institutions, and therefore have no common language or even a consensus about the objective facts about the news of the day. It is in such a milieu that the basic premise of democracy—in which we must consent to agree to disagree with our opponents and treat them as well-meaning if wrong—breaks down. By the same token, the division in the media about Israel, with many liberal outlets smearing it while many on the right defend it, also foments an atmosphere in which a significant percentage of the country is willing to believe lies about the Jewish state and incline them towards antisemitism here at home.
Liberals may have cheered the moderators for turning the debate into a three-on-one confrontation in which their version of the “truth” was employed against their “bad orange man” bête noire. If Trump voters and many independents no longer believe anything that is heard on liberal outlets, theirs may well be a pyrrhic triumph.
We may be able to survive as a constitutional republic without honest lawyers, salespeople and most politicians viewed as crooks, as they have all been since the days of the Founding Fathers. However, a uniformly partisan press, especially when local news outlets are dying out and most political discourse is conducted in a virtual public square owned by a few Silicon Valley oligarchs who collude with the liberal press and the Democrats, seems more like a state regime media than the free press needed to continue the unique American experiment in government. That is a formula for the hollowing out, if not the end of democracy as well as a likely continued increase of antisemitism. That is a prospect that ought to scare everyone, no matter who they plan to vote for in the November elections.

The chaos that we are witnessing in the streets is the direct result of the decisions that our politicians have made. As I discussed yesterday, allowing millions upon millions of migrants that are not being properly screened to come pouring over our wide open borders is not a good idea. There are certainly many migrants that are coming here because they want to work hard and create a better life for themselves. But of course there are others that are coming here for other reasons. Throwing the back door wide open for vast numbers of criminals that intend to cause all sorts of mayhem once they arrive in our major cities is extremely foolish. We are literally committing national suicide, and many of our leaders don’t seem to care.
According to NBC News, authorities are currently investigating more than 100 serious crimes that have been committed by an ultra-violent gang of migrants from Venezuela known as Tren de Aragua…
U.S. law enforcement and immigration officials have launched more than 100 investigations of crimes tied to suspected members of a violent Venezuelan gang, including sex trafficking in Louisiana and the point-blank shooting of two New York City police officers, according to two Department of Homeland Security officials.
The cases involving the Tren de Aragua gang show how hard it is for U.S. border agents to vet the criminal backgrounds of migrants from countries like Venezuela that won’t give the U.S. any help.
More than 330,000 Venezuelans crossed the U.S. border last year, according to Customs and Border Protection data, and Venezuela, like Cuba, China and a handful of other countries, doesn’t provide any criminal history information to U.S. officials.
Gang members are coming over the southern border in extremely large numbers, and once they are allowed in they can literally go anywhere in the country that they want.
Sadly, violence seems to erupt wherever members of this particular gang show up.
For example, two members of Tren de Aragua are facing the death penalty for murdering a former police officer in south Florida…
Two alleged members of the dangerous Venezuelan ‘Tren de Aragua’ gang face the death penalty for the 2023 kidnapping and murder of a man in the city of Doral, in Miami-Dade County, whose apartment was ransacked by armed men.
Julio César Hernández Montero, 27 years old; and Yurwin Salazar Maita, 23, appeared by court order in county court Tuesday, where prosecutors charged them with first-degree murder charges for allegedly killing 43-year-old José Luis Sánchez Valera.
In addition to these charges, Assistant State Attorney Gabriela Alfaro told Judge Laura Cruz that the state will prosecute the co-defendants for robbery, home invasion, vehicle theft, kidnapping and burglary.
This would never have happened if the Biden administration had not let them in.
In the Big Apple, a member of the gang that entered this country illegally recently shot two police officers…
In New York, police say Bernardo Raul Castro-Mata, a 19-year-old from Venezuela, shot two police officers last week. Castro-Mata entered the country illegally last July, a member of Immigration and Customs Enforcement told CNN. The Venezuelan has tattoos associated with Tren de Aragua – which court documents for a suspected gang member in Georgia describe as five-pointed crowns, five-pointed stars and teardrops – the New York Police Department told CNN.
Venezuela is more than happy to send their criminals to us, and the Biden administration is more than happy to take them in.
Now crime in Venezuela is going down, and crime in our country is going up.
In Denver, members of Tren de Aragua have reportedly been given a “green light” to attack law enforcement officials…
At the same time, the gang has reportedly established a significant presence in parts of Colorado, Fox News reported. They were reportedly given a “green light” to fire on or attack law enforcement in Denver.
There have also been reports of the gang taking over at least two apartment buildings in Aurora.
Gang members were not just living in the apartment buildings that they took over in Aurora.
It is being reported that the gang was actually using some of the apartments for child prostitution…
A bombshell report details the complete control the criminal organization had on the Whispering Pine Apartments in the Denver suburb,
Vacant units had reportedly been used to host ‘parties’ where the gang provided ‘drug and child prostitution,’ according to the apartments’ manager, who added that the gangster said ‘minors are a good source of money.’
Sex trafficking is one of the major ways that Tren de Aragua brings in money.
In Louisiana, women that were trafficked by the gang claim that they were forced “to have sex with four men a day”…
In a federal affidavit, two of the women described how they were trafficked by three alleged gang members who had entered the U.S. within the past year. All three suspects had been intercepted by Border Patrol after they entered Texas illegally but had then been released into the U.S.
The women say the alleged gang members arranged for them to fly from El Paso, Texas, to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Once they were in Baton Rouge, the women were taken to a Ross retail clothing store to buy clothes. They were then taken to an apartment building, where they were allegedly forced to have sex with four men a day.
And apparently the gang has also been operating “stash houses” in several other states as well…
Officials arrested two suspects – both Venezuelan nationals – at the location, Allbert Herrera Machado, 23, and Osleidy Vanesa Chourio-Diaz, 26. Agents later arrested another Venezuelan, Josmar Jesus Zambrano-Chirinos, 23, identified in the complaint as a leader of the sex trafficking operation being conducted by the Tren de Aragua in the US. Zambrano was “operating ‘stash houses’ used for human trafficking in Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, New Jersey, and Florida,” according to the criminal complaint reviewed by CNN.
This is absolutely horrifying.
Our leaders know that this is happening, and nothing is being done to stop it.
Thankfully, there are a few politicians that are speaking out. U.S. Representative Tony Gonzales has been consistently warning about the threat that Tren de Aragua poses, and he claims that “this gang has been known to rape children”…
Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX), whose district runs along nearly half of the southern border, said he has warned about the gang and is seriously concerned about the hold it already has in the U.S. given its record as an “agent of chaos and terror through Central and South America.”
“For months, I have sounded the alarm about Tren de Aragua and the threat this gang poses to Americans,” Gonzales said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “It’s graphic, but this gang has been known to rape children, murder, and commit nearly every other crime under the sun. We know that Tren de Aragua has expanded operations in Mexico, and some gang members have made their way into the United States.”
If Joe Biden and Kamala Harris really cared about our women and our children, they would seal the border immediately.
But they will never do that.
Instead, they just made an agreement with the government of Mexico to use buses to transport migrants directly to the U.S. border from two cities in southern Mexico…
The latest development between the Biden/Harris administration and the government of Mexico on the immigration front will see migrants provided bussing from two southern Mexico cities to the United States border. The plan will provide the migrants headed to the United States with meals and security during travel from the two cities to the U.S. destination where the migrant’s asylum appointments are scheduled under the CBP-One application.
The government of Mexico’s National Institute of Migration (INM) announced the new program in a Spanish-language notice issued on Saturday, referring to the initiative as the “Secure Emerging Mobility Corridor.” The two departure cities in southern Mexico will be Villahermosa, Tabasco, and Tapachula, Chiapas.
Are you kidding me?
So now gang members that want to come to the United States will get free bus rides to the border.
What the politicians in Washington are doing to us is literally insane, and it is an enormous threat to our national security.
As social order breaks down in this country, migrant gangs are going to have an absolute field day.
We must shut the border, and we must shut it now.

After yanking Joe Biden off the ticket with a giant vaudeville cane, Kamala Harris has breathed new life into the Democratic party. Kamala opened her campaign with the “politics of joy,” replete with twerking rappers, sassy X clapbacks, and quirky Doritos videos. But, after weeks of pressure from the media, Kamala has finally posted her stance on the issues facing America, and at the debate on Tuesday night, she dove deeper into her policies than ever before. Finally, Gen Z voters have the opportunity to do what everyone least expects from them: weigh each presidential candidate from a policy perspective.
Until now, I’ve been mystified as to why my generation, usually so quick to recognize inauthenticity, was falling for Kamala’s cotton candy campaign. But Gen Z voters were immediately smitten with Kamala, whose light, albeit vapid rhetoric provided a reprieve from the political mudslinging of the last eight years. She threw concerts and posted goofy videos. Instead of engaging in contentious discussions, Kamala supporters could quip “Brat Summer” while retweeting Mark Hamill. It was light and fun, and after years of ugly politics, even her blatant pandering was a nice change.
By spoon-feeding young voters inoffensive content, Harris deflected their attention from her flip-flopping on issues and pushing radical policies like an unrealized capital gains tax. Her proxies dodged questions on air, claiming that she was too busy to sit down for an interview. And most young voters supported Kamala, with 58.7% of voters 18-34 viewing her favorably after the DNC in August.
But Kamala’s actual ideas have been forced into the spotlight. As Harris gets serious, so should Gen Z.
I’ve seen firsthand my generation’s BS detectors in action. We know when we can skip a hokey motivational speaker at a company event or skim the “required” readings. We traverse career fairs, collecting swag and acting interested as phony recruiters try to convince us that their company isn’t a pyramid scheme. In other words, we don’t drink the Kool-Aid.
Now that Harris’ policies are in the open, we should treat her with the same scrutiny. If Gen Z is really dissatisfied with the direction the company is going, per a Spring 2024 Harvard Youth Poll, then perhaps we should consider the fact that portions of her brand new “Issues” page were copied from the Joe Biden campaign site. Remember him? He’s the one who was in charge – or at least who seemed in charge – when that Harvard poll was taken earlier this year.
Additionally, 53% of Gen Z voters believe that there is a dire crisis happening on our southern border, a border that Kamala presided over as border czar. Do we really believe she’s the best candidate to solve that problem?
Another driving factor behind Gen Z’s discontent with the status quo is the economy. On that topic, Harris echoes Joe Biden’s policies. Harris proposes a $25,000 first-time homebuyer handout, doubling down on Biden’s $10,000 proposal. Harris’ policies also include expanding the Affordable Care Act, which has been the law of the land for the past 14 years (and passed while Joe Biden was Vice President). She touts her plan to raise the tax on long-term capital gains to 28% – in other words, 28% of what Gen Z makes in the stock market will go not to a home down payment but to the government. Do we really think that will help young people prosper?
I call on my generation to apply to Kamala Harris the same utility maximization we do in all areas of life. Now that she’s dropped the TikTok-and-vibes charade, we have the chance to think critically about whether Kamala represents the change to the status quo, or whether she’s just Joe Biden 2.0. It seems Kamala can buckle down to business when pressed. Can we?
