John Newton – (1725-1807), Evangelical divine and hymn writer
Newton was born in London July 24, 1725, the son of a commander of a merchant ship which sailed the Mediterranean. When John was eleven, he went to sea with his father and made six voyages with him before the elder Newton retired. In 1744 John was impressed into service on a man-of-war, the H. M. S. Harwich. Finding conditions on board intolerable, he deserted but was soon recaptured and publicly flogged and demoted from midshipman to common seaman.
Although he had had some early religious instruction from his mother, who had died when he was a child, he had long since given up any religious convictions. However, on a homeward voyage, while he was attempting to steer the ship through a violent storm, he experienced what he was to refer to later as his “great deliverance.” He recorded in his journal that when all seemed lost and the ship would surely sink, he exclaimed, “Lord, have mercy upon us.” Later in his cabin he reflected on what he had said and began to believe that God had addressed him through the storm and that grace had begun to work for him.
For the rest of his life he observed the anniversary of May 10, 1748 as the day of his conversion, a day of humiliation in which he subjected his will to a higher power. “Thro’ many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; ’tis grace has bro’t me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.” He continued in the slave trade for a time after his conversion; however, he saw to it that the slaves under his care were treated humanely.
In 1750 he married Mary Catlett, with whom he had been in love for many years. By 1755, after a serious illness, he had given up seafaring forever. During his days as a sailor he had begun to educate himself, teaching himself Latin, among other subjects. From 1755 to 1760 Newton was surveyor of tides at Liverpool, where he came to know George Whitefield, deacon in the Church of England, evangelistic preacher, and leader of the Calvinistic Methodist Church. Newton became Whitefield’s enthusiastic disciple. During this period Newton also met and came to admire John Wesley, founder of Methodism. Newton’s self-education continued, and he learned Greek and Hebrew.

Isaiah 54:1 — Galatians 4:27 quotes this verse talking about Jerusalem in reference to Sarah. Theologians are still unsure about how the verses fit together.
Isaiah 54:7-8 — Exodus 20:5-6 states that God will punish sin for 3-4 generations but have mercy for a thousand generations. Here we see a small forsaking but great mercies. Little wrath but everlasting kindness. Throughout the Bible we are warned that yes, God’s punishment will hurt but it’s worth it (Proverbs 3:12, Hebrews 12:6, Revelation 3:19, Deuteronomy 8:5, Psalm 94:12, Proverbs 13:24).

Eunuchs were excluded from temple worship by Torah itself (Deuteronomy 23:1-3; Leviticus 21:18-20), not for moral or ethnic reasons but because they were understood to be “blemished,” excluded by the purity laws in the same way that blemished lambs were not acceptable as sacrifices …
But now, says the Lord (through the prophet), all that is changed. Foreigners and eunuchs are welcomed in the same way as anyone else–that is, those who keep the sabbath and hold fast the covenant. Sabbath-keeping had taken on even greater importance during the exile because it was a religious observance and a sign of the covenant that people could do within the family even when there was no temple for sacrifice and festival worship.
Relational commands started yesterday; they were addressed to husbands and wives. Today, Paul’s addressing children (Ephesians 6:1), then those with a parent (Ephesians 6:2-3), followed by fathers (Ephesians 6:4), servants (Ephesians 6:5-8), and finally masters (Ephesians 6:9).
We have a gap between Ephesians 6:1 and 6:2 because while children (those under 18, for lack of a better definition) are commanded to obey, all are commanded to honor.

At this hour a mountain of difficulty, distress, or necessity may be in our way, and natural reason sees no path over it, or through it, or round it. Let faith come in, and straightway the mountain disappears and becomes a plain. But faith must first hear the word of the Lord—”Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” This grand truth is a prime necessity for meeting the insurmountable trials of life.

Is the text of the Bible we have today different from the originals? | WINTERY KNIGHT
I thought it might be a good idea to write something about whether the Bible is generally reliable as a historical document. Lots of people like to nitpick about things that are difficult to verify, but the strange thing is that even skeptical historians accept many of the core narratives found in the Bible. Let’s start with a Christian historian, then go to a non-Christian one.
First, let’s introduce New Testament scholar Daniel B. Wallace:

Senior Research Professor of New Testament StudiesBA, Biola University, 1975; ThM, Dallas Theological Seminary, 1979; PhD, 1995.
Dr. Wallace… is a member of the Society of New Testament Studies, the Institute for Biblical Research, the Society of Biblical Literature, the American Society of Papyrologists, and the Evangelical Theological Society (of which he was president in 2016). He has been a consultant for several Bible translations. He has written, edited, or contributed to more than three dozen books, and has published articles in New Testament Studies, Novum Testamentum, Biblica, Westminster Theological Journal, Bulletin of Biblical Review, the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society, and several other peer-reviewed journals. His Exegetical Syntax of the New Testament is the standard intermediate Greek grammar and has been translated into more than a half-dozen languages.
Here is an article by Dr. Wallace that corrects misconceptions about the transmission and translation of the Testament.
He lists five in particular:
- Myth 1: The Bible has been translated so many times we can’t possibly get back to the original.
- Myth 2: Words in red indicate the exact words spoken by Jesus of Nazareth.
- Myth 3: Heretics have severely corrupted the text.
- Myth 4: Orthodox scribes have severely corrupted the text.
- Myth 5: The deity of Christ was invented by emperor Constantine.
Let’s look at #4 in particular, where the argument is that the text of the New Testament is so riddled with errors that we can’t get back to the original text.
It says:
Myth 4: Orthodox scribes have severely corrupted the text.
This is the opposite of myth #3. It finds its most scholarly affirmation in the writings of Dr. Bart Ehrman, chiefly The Orthodox Corruption of Scripture and Misquoting Jesus. Others have followed in his train, but they have gone far beyond what even he claims. For example, a very popular book among British Muslims (The History of the Qur’anic Text from Revelation to Compilation: a Comparative Study with the Old and New Testaments by M. M. Al-Azami) makes this claim:
The Orthodox Church, being the sect which eventually established supremacy over all the others, stood in fervent opposition to various ideas ([a.k.a.] ‘heresies’) which were in circulation. These included Adoptionism (the notion that Jesus was not God, but a man); Docetism (the opposite view, that he was God and not man); and Separationism (that the divine and human elements of Jesus Christ were two separate beings). In each case this sect, the one that would rise to become the Orthodox Church, deliberately corrupted the Scriptures so as to reflect its own theological visions of Christ, while demolishing that of all rival sects.”
This is a gross misrepresentation of the facts. Even Ehrman admitted in the appendix to Misquoting Jesus, “Essential Christian beliefs are not affected by textual variants in the manuscript tradition of the New Testament.” The extent to which, the reasons for which, and the nature of which the orthodox scribes corrupted the New Testament has been overblown. And the fact that such readings can be detected by comparison with the readings of other ancient manuscripts indicates that the fingerprints of the original text are still to be seen in the extant manuscripts.
Here is the full quote from the appendix of Misquoting Jesus:
“Bruce Metzger is one of the great scholars of modern times, and I dedicated the book to him because he was both my inspiration for going into textual criticism and the person who trained me in the field. I have nothing but respect and admiration for him. And even though we may disagree on important religious questions – he is a firmly committed Christian and I am not – we are in complete agreement on a number of very important historical and textual questions. If he and I were put in a room and asked to hammer out a consensus statement on what we think the original text of the New Testament probably looked like, there would be very few points of disagreement – maybe one or two dozen places out of many thousands. The position I argue for in ‘Misquoting Jesus’ does not actually stand at odds with Prof. Metzger’s position that the essential Christian beliefs are not affected by textual variants in the manuscript tradition of the New Testament.”
Finally, I think that the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls shows us that religious texts don’t change as much as we think they do over time.
Look:
The Dead Sea Scrolls play a crucial role in assessing the accurate preservation of the Old Testament. With its hundreds of manuscripts from every book except Esther, detailed comparisons can be made with more recent texts.
The Old Testament that we use today is translated from what is called the Masoretic Text. The Masoretes were Jewish scholars who between A.D. 500 and 950 gave the Old Testament the form that we use today. Until the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947, the oldest Hebrew text of the Old Testament was the Masoretic Aleppo Codex which dates to A.D. 935.{5}
With the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, we now had manuscripts that predated the Masoretic Text by about one thousand years. Scholars were anxious to see how the Dead Sea documents would match up with the Masoretic Text. If a significant amount of differences were found, we could conclude that our Old Testament Text had not been well preserved. Critics, along with religious groups such as Muslims and Mormons, often make the claim that the present day Old Testament has been corrupted and is not well preserved. According to these religious groups, this would explain the contradictions between the Old Testament and their religious teachings.
After years of careful study, it has been concluded that the Dead Sea Scrolls give substantial confirmation that our Old Testament has been accurately preserved. The scrolls were found to be almost identical with the Masoretic text. Hebrew Scholar Millar Burrows writes, “It is a matter of wonder that through something like one thousand years the text underwent so little alteration. As I said in my first article on the scroll, ‘Herein lies its chief importance, supporting the fidelity of the Masoretic tradition.’”{6}
A significant comparison study was conducted with the Isaiah Scroll written around 100 B.C. that was found among the Dead Sea documents and the book of Isaiah found in the Masoretic text. After much research, scholars found that the two texts were practically identical. Most variants were minor spelling differences, and none affected the meaning of the text.
One of the most respected Old Testament scholars, the late Gleason Archer, examined the two Isaiah scrolls found in Cave 1 and wrote, “Even though the two copies of
Isaiah discovered in Qumran Cave 1 near the Dead Sea in 1947 were a thousand years earlier than the oldest dated manuscript previously known (A.D. 980), they proved to be word for word identical with our standard Hebrew Bible in more than 95 percent of the text. The five percent of variation consisted chiefly of obvious slips of the pen and variations in spelling.”{7}Despite the thousand year gap, scholars found the Masoretic Text and Dead Sea Scrolls to be nearly identical. The Dead Sea Scrolls provide valuable evidence that the Old Testament had been accurately and carefully preserved.
I hope that this post will help those who think that we can’t get back to the text of the original New Testament documents.

- Dems, foreign leaders, and election interference: Yesterday, we noted an outrageous case of election interference perpetrated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his sugar daddy, the Biden/Harris administration. This seems to have caught the attention of the House Oversight Committee, which on Wednesday announced that it would investigate the gross misuse of taxpayer funds to fly Zelensky to the crucial battleground state of Pennsylvania, whereupon he trashed Donald Trump and JD Vance. But it’s not just Zelensky and Putin and the Iranians who are campaigning for Kamala. As Politico reports, London Mayor Sadiq Khan is warning the American people against electing Trump. “What I’d say in a respectful way to Americans is: I don’t think you realize that the rest of the world is watching because we’ve got skin in the game,” Khan said. Memo to Mayor Khan: If you want to be respectful, take Tim Walz’s advice and “mind your own damn business.”
- Soros gets into the election interference game: With 40 days until the election, even low-information voters are beginning to pay more attention to politics. And what better time for an America-hating leftist billionaire to put his elbow on the scale on behalf of Kamala Harris? As Blaze Media’s Joseph MacKinnon reports: “Democratic mega-donor George Soros has been leaning on the Democrat-controlled Federal Communications Commission for months in hopes of fast-tracking his group’s acquisition of over 200 radio stations in over 40 markets — including stations that run shows from Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, Erick Erickson, Sean Hannity, and Dana Loesch.” And it looks like Soros is going to get his wish, even if his fellow leftists on the FCC have to cut corners to make it happen. MacKinnon continues: “On Wednesday, the FCC reportedly [approved] the purchase, meaning that in a matter of days, Soros will likely take control of communications to over 165 million Americans with the help of unvetted foreign investors whom Democrats have spared from the FCC’s customary national security review process.” Trump-appointed FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr calls it “an unprecedented decision for the commission” amid a broader “weaponization of government power … against free speech.”
- Eric Adams indicted: In a historic first for New York City, sitting mayor Eric Adams was indicted by a grand jury in connection to a federal investigation into foreign money that was illegally funneled into Adam’s 2021 mayoral campaign. Besides Adams, two others — Brianna Suggs, who was his top campaign fundraiser, and Winnie Greco, his director of Asian affairs — are also likely to be indicted. Connections to Turkey and five other nations have been investigated in the probe. Adams insists he’s innocent while insinuating that the indictment is connected to his vocal criticism of the Biden/Harris administration’s open border policies that have flooded NYC with over 250,000 migrants since 2022. He said, “When the federal government did nothing as its broken immigration policies overloaded our shelter system with no relief, I put the people of New York before party and politics.” Adams refuses to step down and has called for a speedy trial. On that point, conservative pundit Ben Shapiro quipped, “He should probably go stab someone at a New York subway station so the prosecutors release him quickly.”
- Biden on “The View”: Joe Biden made an appearance on that daytime cackling hen show “The View,” where he tightly tied Kamala Harris to every one of his failed policy decisions — the very decisions Harris has been ironically campaigning against. As Biden put it, “As vice president, there wasn’t a single thing that I did that she couldn’t do, and so I was able to delegate her responsibility on everything from foreign policy to domestic policy.” The disastrous Afghanistan exit: ✅. The immigration crisis: ✅. Forty-year-high inflation: ✅. When the topic turned to Donald Trump, cohost Whoopi Goldberg began describing Trump as a “bug” that wouldn’t go away, and Biden responded by slapping the table, imitating the smashing of a bug, which produced laughter from the audience and hosts. This is the same man who laments violence and dangerous rhetoric, yet he continues to call Trump a threat to democracy and now acts as if the former president is some kind of pest that needs to be killed. These people really do hate the man.
- “Extinguish” Trump “for good”? In an interview yesterday with Leftmedia outfit MSNBC, Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo was asked by “Morning Joe” cohost Mika Brzezinski about Donald Trump’s recent comment at a rally in Pennsylvania wherein he called himself a “protector” of women. Raimondo replied that his comment “is enraging, it is blood-curdling, and it is BS.” After accusing Trump of lying, she added, “How did we get here? Let’s extinguish him for good.” Despite two assassination attempts and a planned third one, along with near-constant accusations that Trump needs to temper his rhetoric, it is once again a member of the Biden/Harris administration who is guilty of using the very dehumanizing, vitriolic, and dangerously inflammatory rhetoric they bemoan. Meanwhile, how many women have become victims of Biden/Harris’s border malfeasance? That is a genuine threat to the life and well-being of Americans, not Trump’s desire to protect women.
- Biden signs gun control EO to make illegal what is already illegal: In what amounts to little more than political theater, Joe Biden will sign an executive order today that is supposedly aimed at reducing “gun violence.” The impetus for the order comes a little over a week after a mass attack in Birmingham, Alabama, that tellingly got little national news coverage, likely due to the ethnic nature of the individuals involved. The order is focused on developing better attack response drills in schools, eliminating gun conversion devices (which are already illegal), and establishing a firearms threats task force. That last element is the most insidious of Biden’s order. What exactly will this task force be doing? It looks to be yet another effort aimed at infringing on Americans’ Second Amendment rights, all under the guise of “safety.”

- Damning Senate report reveals more Secret Service failures: When a bipartisan report reaches common findings, we rightly tend to lend credence to them. Such is the case with a scathing 94-page report released yesterday by the Senate’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. Within it, the authors detail “a slew of missteps and miscommunications.” Of course, the acting director of the Secret Service, Ronald Rowe, says he’s really upset at what happened on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania. “What I saw made me ashamed,” he said. “I cannot defend why that roof was not better secured.” Among the things that made Rowe ashamed: “The Secret Service agent in charge of [the rally] was made aware of ‘credible intelligence’ of a threat against the former president — but didn’t pass it along to her supervisor or others planning security for the event.” Nor did that agent think to keep Donald Trump off the stage until that threat was accounted for.

- U.S. Air Force targets its “white male” population: White males need not apply. That seems to be the message from the Biden/Harris administration’s woke Air Force, which, as The Daily Caller reports, “finally handed over a trove of documents pertaining to its sweeping ‘goal’ of reducing the number of white male applicants in a popular officer program after spending months stonewalling requests for their release.” What we have here, then, is a continuation of the Left’s takeover of our military, which had long been a bastion of American patriotism. Biden DEI hire and Joint Chiefs Chairman C.Q. Brown issued a 2022 memo indicating “diversity and inclusion” updates to Air Force demographic goals for applicants seeking to become officers. That’s code for de-whitening. We know this because one of the documents in question “depicts a graph that shows the percentage of white male ROTC officer applicants declining from approximately 60% in fiscal year 2019 to a projected 50% in fiscal year 2023,” the Caller says. “The graph further details how the Air Force’s goal is to reduce that percentage down to approximately 43% by fiscal year 2029.”

The Word for Harris’s Economic Vision Isn’t ‘Capitalist’

“We just need to move past the failed policies that we have proven don’t work,” said Kamala Harris in her highly touted economic speech yesterday in Pittsburgh. She was criticizing the policies of Donald Trump, of course, but those policies worked immensely well, so her comment fits better as a Trump campaign ad.
It also sounded a lot like Tim Walz’s supposed slam of Trump: “We can’t afford four more years of this!” That, too, worked better as a Trump ad.
As does this comment from Joe Biden, who made an appearance on “The View” yesterday: “As vice president, there wasn’t a single thing that I did that she couldn’t do, and so I was able to delegate her responsibility on everything from foreign policy to domestic policy.”
So much for being the candidate of change!
Unfortunately, many voters do view her that way, largely because of the power and influence of the Leftmedia to give her a makeover as the Democrat presidential nominee appointee. She’s not Trump or (technically) Biden; ergo, she represents change.
The reason for her economic speech was simple: To reinforce the “fact-checker” rebuttals of Trump’s claims that Harris is a Marxist. “Vice President Kamala Harris wants voters to know that she is not a socialist,” The New York Times helpfully reported in the first sentence of its story in-kind campaign commercial about her speech. Politico adds, “Harris seeks to chip away at Trump’s advantage with voters on the economy.”
Trump wants voters to know he’s not an insurrectionist or a racist or any other “ist” the Left falsely labels him. He hopes to chip away at Harris’s advantage on abortion. But he doesn’t get those kinds of fawning ledes from The New York Times or Politico.
“Look, I am a capitalist,” Harris unconvincingly protested, which is probably why she couched her decidedly un-capitalist idea of price controls as a federal ban on “gouging” (to be defined later by unelected bureaucrats). There was the predictable word salad, too. “I promise you I will be pragmatic in my approach,” she said. “I will engage in what Franklin Roosevelt called bold, persistent experimentation. Because I believe we shouldn’t be constrained by ideology and instead should seek practical solutions to problems, realistic assessments of what is working and what is not, applying metrics to our analysis, applying facts to our analysis, and stay focused, then, not only on the crises at hand but on our big goals, on what’s best for America over the long term.”
What?
FDR, for what it’s worth, brought a lot of socialism by massively expanding the federal government, so appealing to him to prove capitalist dedication should ring hollow. Alas, for the public school-educated population, it won’t.
Speaking of big government, Harris also said, “I also know the limitations of government.” Yet she never outlined those limits, and nothing she ever says implies she sees any.
In another line that would work better for Trump, she said, “The cost of living in America is still just too high. You know it, and I know it.” Yes, we do, and we also know she’s been vice president for nearly four years, casting tiebreaking Senate votes on major legislation that caused inflation to soar — legislation that inserted government ever further into the economy.
Yesterday was a big day for Harris. Not only did she give this speech, but she conducted a second solo interview with a national media reporter. Her first one didn’t go so well.
This time, the interlocutor was MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle, who has previously defended Harris’s strategy to hide from voters with this rationale: “She’s running against Trump.”
The interview featured a few softballs — like the one about flipping burgers — that set up Harris’s usual talking points or reinforced her questionable autobiography. To be fair, though, Ruhle did ask Harris a couple of tough questions and later criticized her for not giving “a clear and direct answer” to them.
Why do voters still think Trump is better on the economy? Harris could only respond with lies about Trump’s record, and though Ruhle meant her question as a slam of Trump, even she had to challenge Harris on her dodge. How would Harris pay for her new or expanded income redistribution schemes, especially if Republicans control Congress? A confounded Harris merely stuttered about how we’re “going to have to” do it anyway. Why didn’t the Teamsters endorse Harris? Again, no answer. How would Harris “go after price gouging without implementing price controls?” Harris deflected by saying, “I am never going to apologize for going after companies and corporations that take advantage of the desperation of the American people.”
To paraphrase the old Holiday Inn Express commercials, she doesn’t have a limited government or capitalist plan for economic success, but she did “grow up a middle-class kid.” And just look at that fantastically “middle class” interview set.
Harris is never going to say, “I’m a Marxist.” That doesn’t win a majority even in today’s America. But when all you have is a government hammer, everything looks like a nail. Harris’s only “solutions” to any and every problem are government programs funded by taking from some Americans and giving to other Americans (or non-Americans, as the case may be). That’s not a constitutional republic. It’s not even “democracy.” It’s authoritarian, fascist, and socialist — and, yes, Marxist.

(Wendell Husebo – Breitbart) President Joe Biden said Wednesday that he delegated “everything” as commander-in-chief to Vice President Kamala Harris, including foreign policy and domestic policy.
The acknowledgment is significant because it contradicts Harris’s talking points. Harris has tried multiple times to distance herself from the Biden-Harris record.
“My approach is about new ideas, new policies that are directed at the current moment. And also, to be very honest with you, my focus is very much in what we need to do over the next ten, twenty years to catch up to the twenty first century,” Harris told Brian Taff of Philadelphia’s Action News 6 ABC on September 13.

The REAL Donald Trump revealed in surprise visit to sick child | Conservative Review
The mainstream media go to extreme lengths to convince the nation that Donald Trump is Hitler, that he will end democracy, and that he’s an existential threat to Americans. To maintain this false narrative about him, they have to suppress anything that paints him in a positive light. When you google Trump, you’ll find that it’s difficult to locate any stories about his generosity or kindness — both of which many people who personally know him attest to.
Liz Wheeler has a perfect example of the kind of Trump story that gets buried by the left-owned media.
“President Trump gave a gift to a seriously ill young boy — a boy with a brain disorder — and not only did he send him a letter, he then met the young boy,” she says, playing the sweet footage of Trump greeting the child with a present.
“The media likes to vilify him, demonize him, claim that he’s just some monster,” says Liz.
But here’s the truth: “Everyone who has had an interaction with Trump, whether it’s on camera or off camera, says, you know, he’s really very generous; he’s really very caring; he really feels what other people are feeling.”
Spicy tweets aside, “he has a track record of being a very generous man, a very caring man,” says Liz.
Another example of Trump’s soft side was displayed right after he visited the sick child. At a rally in North Carolina, he brought his young grandson Luke on stage, picked him up, kissed him on the cheek, and called him “so cute.”
“I wish that they would show more Grandpa Trump type of content,” says Liz, adding that the narrative that “Trump has no character, that he’s the devil” is “a lie,” but “the relationship he has with his grandchildren is the truth.”

The Stage Is Being Set For The Greatest Period Of Chaos In U.S. History | The Economic Collapse
If chaos is what they intended, everything is coming together beautifully. Major wars threaten to throw the entire planet into a state of turmoil, criminals are running wild in our streets, and in a little over a month the outcome of the presidential election is likely to cause an unprecedented explosion of anger. If all of this wasn’t bad enough, our politicians have been allowing millions of desperate people to come pouring over our wide open borders. Some of these “new arrivals” belong to international criminal gangs, and members of these gangs are being arrested for violent acts, theft, drug dealing and sex trafficking all over America. Other “new arrivals” belong to terror groups in the Middle East, and you would think that this would be a major national security concern. Russians have also been crossing the border illegally, as have very large numbers of military-age Chinese men. The stage is being set for the greatest period of chaos in U.S. history, and this should deeply alarm all of us.
Since Joe Biden has been in the White House, we have witnessed a spike in migration that is absolutely unprecedented in our history.
Millions of people have been allowed in, and once they get into this country they can go wherever they want.
Most of them have come in through the southern border, but what most people don’t realize is that migration over the northern border is also wildly out of control…
There has been growing attention from northern-state lawmakers in recent years over increased attempted illegal border crossings as migration from Latin America grows due to economic and political conditions.
In 2023, U.S. Customs and Border Protection encountered almost 190,000 individuals attempting to cross from Canada to the United States. That’s almost seven times more than in 2021.
Unfortunately, the number of people coming in through the northern border has just continued to rise in 2024…
This year, the number of illegal crossings along the northern border is hitting record levels, and northern New York, with its proximity to Montreal and Toronto, is the epicenter of the influx. In August alone, the Border Patrol reported 19,000 migrant encounters along the border with Canada, with nearly half entering through New York.
It is so easy to come across the northern border.
The U.S. border with Canada is 5,525 miles long, and there aren’t many border agents covering it.
Fox News recently interviewed a property owner in northern New York that says that migrants are constantly entering this country through his land…
Chris Oliver’s property in Fort Covington, New York has become an unintended gateway for a stream of illegal immigrants crossing the Canadian border into the United States, leaving him dismayed and wondering if the problem will ever be resolved.
He told “Fox & Friends First” he “absolutely” blames “border czar” Kamala Harris and President Biden for the issue.
“You have no control over it. You don’t know who these people are. Not everybody is a good person,” Oliver said on Wednesday.
He is right.
We need to know who these people are, because not everyone is coming here with good intentions.
In fact, during that same interview Oliver mentioned a recent case where a man was arrested that was planning “an ISIS-style attack in New York City”…
“They had a guy up in Ormstown not too far away from us, get arrested. He was planning an ISIS-style attack in New York City. That was just recently. That same night, I still had people come across my cameras. That should be stopped.”
For those that are crossing the northern border, New York City is the number one destination.
According to NPR, transporting “new arrivals” from India to New York City has actually become a very lucrative business…
A group of immigrants from India pile out of a taxi minivan beside the Clinton County, New York, government building in this small upstate city half an hour from the Canadian border.
They are quickly swarmed by a half a dozen fellow Indian immigrants who’ve waited hours for this business opportunity.
This fleet of jitney taxis offering migrants rides south to New York City is one clear example of the informal economy that’s sprung up following a significant increase in unauthorized crossings across the usually sleepy northern border over the last year and a half.
Needless to say, some people are coming to the United States because they want a better life.
But in many other cases, people are crossing the border for very nefarious reasons.
According to the New York Post, children that are as young as 8 years old “are being drugged and smuggled into the US by traffickers”…
Border Patrol agents are warning that kids as young as 8 are being drugged and smuggled into the US by traffickers posing as their parents or family members — and nobody knows how common the horrifying practice is.
Authorities have rescued children caught up in two different instances of such smuggling in recent weeks — including one instance in which the alleged traffickers had birth certificates for multiple kids to whom they weren’t related, according to the Border Patrol.
Border Patrol sources have told The Post they’ve observed increasing numbers of smugglers posing as family units in order to “recycle” children.
Stopping the exploitation of children should be a good enough reason all by itself to secure our borders.
But our politicians refuse to do it.
Others are crossing our borders because they intend to commit acts of violence. Recently, a very alarming discovery of weapons was made very close to the southern border…
Republicans are outraged at the Biden-Harris administration for ignoring an escalating security crisis at the southern border after rocket-propelled grenades and explosives were found near Arizona.
A bombshell report indicated that at least 4 rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) and 8 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were discovered in Mexico close to the U.S.-Mexico border.
Huge amounts of ammunition were also found in the ‘scout site’ that was around 700 feet from the border wall in Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector, according to an internal memo first reported by NewsNation.
At this stage, we don’t know exactly who those weapons belonged to or what they intended to do with them.
But it is being reported that Iran “is trying to assassinate former President Donald Trump”…
Iran has made it “clear” that it is trying to assassinate former President Donald Trump, as well as members of his administration – and the current Biden administration – as payback for the killing of an Iranian general and other hardline policies, U.S. officials and lawmakers said Wednesday.
The comments came after Trump’s dramatic disclosure Tuesday night that he had been briefed earlier in the day by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence about Tehran’s “real and specific threats” against him.
As I shared with my core supporters recently, U.S. Representative Matt Gaetz has admitted that a top official with the Department of Homeland Security has told him that there are at least five assassination teams inside this country right now that are targeting Trump.
It really will be a miracle if Trump makes it to the election.
If Trump ultimately ends up winning, the left will go completely nuts and the millions upon millions of “new arrivals” that the left has brought into our major cities will go completely nuts.

This Is Why The Biden Administration Is Working So Hard To Keep Israel Out Of Lebanon | End Of The American Dream
The Biden administration has shifted into panic mode, and there is a good reason for that. It has become clear that Israel and Hezbollah are on the brink of all-out war, and once that line is crossed there will be no turning back. Needless to say, an apocalyptic conflict in the Middle East would have the potential to be the greatest “October surprise” of all time. If the U.S. is forced to intervene in an all-out war between Israel and Hezbollah, there are thousands upon thousands of Muslims in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania that will simply refuse to vote for Kamala Harris. We already got a preview of this when large numbers of them cast protest votes against Joe Biden during the Democratic primaries. Kamala Harris must win Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania if she has any hope of emerging victorious in November, and so keeping Israel out of Lebanon is of paramount importance for the Democrats right now.
On Wednesday, ABC News was reporting that Israel “is preparing for a potential ground operation” in Lebanon…
Israel is preparing for a potential ground operation as its war with Hezbollah intensifies, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
“Today, we will continue, we are not stopping; we keep striking and hitting them everywhere,” Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, the chief of the General Staff, said Wednesday. “The goal is very clear — to safely return the residents of the north. To achieve that, we are preparing the process of a maneuver, which means your military boots, your maneuvering boots, will enter enemy territory, enter villages that Hezbollah has prepared as large military outposts, with underground infrastructure, staging points and launchpads into our territory and carry out attacks on Israeli civilians.”
In addition to the forces that have already been deployed, the Israelis just called up two more reserve brigades…
The Israeli military announced Wednesday afternoon that two reserve brigades will be called up for deployment in Operation Northern Arrows.
“In accordance with the situational assessment, the IDF is calling up two reserve brigades for operational missions in the northern arena,” the IDF said.
Israel is quite serious about going in, but the Biden administration is trying really hard to find a diplomatic solution to this crisis…
The Biden administration is working on a new diplomatic initiative for a “pause” in the fighting in Lebanon and a resumption of negotiations on a Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal, according to two U.S. officials, one Israeli official and two sources with direct knowledge.
According to Axios, Benjamin Netanyahu is quite open to the idea of a peaceful way out of this mess…
- Over the last two days, the U.S. has been discussing the idea with France, Israel, Lebanon and several other Arab countries, a U.S. official and a European diplomat said.
- “We are working with several countries on a proposal for a diplomatic solution for the north,” a U.S. official confirmed.
- “Netanyahu gave a green light to discuss this initiative,” an Israeli official said.
If Hezbollah can be persuaded to withdraw north of the Litani River peacefully, Israeli forces would not need to enter southern Lebanon, and the Israeli government would be quite thrilled about that.
I am entirely convinced that this is not going to happen, but I think that all of this diplomatic posturing will delay an Israeli ground operation for a little while.
For now, Israel and Hezbollah continue to exchange long-range strikes. On Wednesday, Hezbollah even fired a missile at Tel Aviv…
Israel intercepted a missile fired by Hezbollah near Tel Aviv on Wednesday, an unprecedented attack by the militant group that reached deep into the country’s commercial heartlands and marked a new escalatory step in the conflict between the two sides.
People in Tel Aviv and the central city of Netanya woke up to sirens on Wednesday as Israel said its air defenses intercepted a surface-to-surface missile – the first time ever a missile fired by Hezbollah has reached close to the city, the Israeli military said.
I really wish that Hezbollah would just stop.
If Hezbollah stopped hitting Israel and withdrew north of the Litani River, an all-out war could be avoided.
Unfortunately, that isn’t going to be the way that things play out.
As war approaches, more airlines are cancelling flights to and from Beirut…
Egyptair, Emirates, Etihad, flydubai and Qatar Airways are among the airlines this week that have now suspended flights to and from Beirut due to the unstable security situation, according to Reuters and Al Arabiya.
Reuters also reports that Britain has advised U.K.-based airlines not to fly into Lebanese airspace until Nov. 4, citing a “potential risk to aviation from military activity”.
If you are currently visiting the Middle East, I would get out now while you still can.
Meanwhile, the Russians continue to gobble up more real estate in Ukraine.
In fact, we are being told that they have just entered Vuhledar…
As confirmed by both Russian and Ukrainian sources, the Russians have entered Vuhledar – a key Ukrainian stronghold at the junction of eastern and southern fronts. The potential effect of its capture is hard to overestimate.
They are also closing the lid on the near-encircled large chunk of land outside Krasnohorivka – mopping up Zhelanne 2.
The situation on the frontline couldn’t be worse for Zelensky-Biden summit.
The only way that Ukraine can win this war is if NATO forces get directly involved.
Ominously, it appears that NATO is making plans for just such a scenario…
NATO plans to coordinate the transport of a large number of wounded troops away from front lines in case of a war with Russia, potentially via hospital trains as air evacuations may not be feasible, according to a senior general.
The future scenario for medical evacuations will differ from allies’ experience in Afghanistan and Iraq, Lieutenant-General Alexander Sollfrank, the head of NATO’s logistics command, told Reuters in an interview.
We must avoid a direct war with Russia at all costs.
Because a direct war with Russia could easily go nuclear.
On Wednesday, Vladimir Putin discussed very alarming changes to Russia’s official nuclear doctrine…
“The updated version of the document proposes that aggression against Russia by any non-nuclear-weapon state, but with the participation or support of a nuclear-weapon state, should be considered as a joint attack on the Russian Federation,” Putin told the council.
He said the conditions for the launch of Russia’s nuclear weapons would be “reliable information about a massive launch of aerospace attack means and their crossing of our state border.”
He added, “We reserve the right to use nuclear weapons in the event of aggression against Russia and Belarus.”
So if Ukraine starts firing long-range missiles that were provided by us at Russian cities, the Russians would consider that to be a joint attack and would reserve the right to use nuclear weapons in such a scenario.
Please let the implications of that sink in.
Speaking of nuclear weapons, the Chinese just test-fired “an intercontinental ballistic missile into the Pacific Ocean”…
China said Wednesday that it had successfully test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile into the Pacific Ocean, in a rare public test that may raise international concerns as the country builds up its nuclear arsenal at a time of tensions with the United States.
The People’s Liberation Army Rocket Force launched the ICBM carrying a simulated warhead at 8:44 a.m. local time (8:44 p.m. Tuesday ET), the Chinese defense ministry said in a statement, adding that it accurately landed in a predetermined area of the high seas. The path of the missile and the exact place it fell were unclear.
Why can’t humanity ever seem to learn?

Miranda Devine Tells Schweizer: Traitor Joe’s Corruption Story Isn‘t Over, ‘They‘re Still Committing Bad Deeds‘ | Breitbart
With Joe Biden forced out of the presidential race, why should anyone still care about the corruption story that implicated him, his brothers, and his son, Hunter Biden?
Because “the same people in the same crooked institutions that protected him and allowed him and his family to do business and make millions of dollars from our adversaries, particularly from China, are still there,” journalist Miranda Devine declares on the latest episode of the Drill Down podcast. “They’re still committing bad deeds. They still have mal-intent and they still don’t have America’s best interests at heart,” Devine tells co-hosts Peter Schweizer and Eric Eggers.
Devine’s reporting on the infamous “Hunter Biden laptop” in October 2020 for the New York Post was heavily censored by social media platforms and savaged as “Russian misinformation” by the mainstream media, national security veterans, and partisan Democrats. It was all completely accurate.
Devine tells what she knows of the Biden family’s corruption in her new book, The Big Guy: How a President and His Son Sold Out America, which debuts this week.
Indeed, both Devine and Schweizer have been for years the two most prominent reporters on the Biden corruption story.
Schweizer notes that the Bidens’ corrupt family businesses were protected by a press that didn’t want to know the truth, a Justice Department that wanted to allow the statute of limitations to expire, an intelligence community that would say or sign anything to keep Donald Trump from winning a second term, and prosecutors who wanted to sweep the whole thing under a misdemeanor gun charge.
“You’ve got a political class in Washington, DC that is engaged in these kinds of global deals, and a government apparatus that protects them,” Schweizer tells Devine. “Joe Biden, and the Clintons before him, perfected this model of globalized corruption. And if you get away with this kind of thing, everybody’s going to follow and imitate.”
Devine agrees. “Where there’s no accountability for bad behavior, of course it metastasizes,” she says. “All that happens is that the bad guys will just sharpen their tools… they get cleverer at covering up.”
Classic cover-ups such as what she calls the “Dirty 51 letter,” signed by 51 former top US intelligence community executives a month before the 2020 election. That letter claimed the Hunter Biden laptop and her stories about it “had all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation.”
Devine pulls no punches. The “Dirty 51 letter,” as she calls it, was a clumsy attempt at branding the laptop story as disinformation. And there were five former CIA directors or acting directors who signed that letter, “including the ubiquitous John Brennan, who’s been involved in every dirty trick we’ve seen in the last decade or so.”
“That letter, we now know, was approved at the highest level of the CIA, by Director Gina Haspel and her deputy, before it went out. So, this was not a bunch of rogue operators. It was blessed by the CIA itself,” Devine says. She learned later that the FBI was in on the suppression of her reports as well.
Devine is looking into the two assassination attempts against former President Trump, and noted a JustTheNews story reporting that Ryan Routh, the man arrested for his attempted shooting of Trump in Florida, had been scrutinized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials when he returned from Ukraine last year. While Routh was flagged for further investigation based on comments he made to agents, the Homeland Security Department declined to act.
The nation’s national security organs have come under scrutiny before, she noted, citing the Church Committee in the 1970s, which for a time reined in the excesses of the CIA. But she firmly believes another house-cleaning of the massive bureaucracy that has exploded since the 9/11 attacks is long overdue and critically necessary.
