According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. Segment 1: Todd Friel begins by recounting a personal childhood memory involving a librarian and brownies to illustrate how some pastors fill their sermons with personal anecdotes and unrelated stories. He reflects on attending a service where a pastor took 12 minutes to share irrelevant stories before addressing Acts 12, using it as an illustration of the problem of shallow preaching.
Segment 2: Friel discusses how the pastor at the service used Acts 12, a story about Peter’s miraculous release from prison, to deliver a Mother’s Day message, twisting the context of the passage to suit a thematic holiday. He critiques this practice, emphasizing how pastors often use the Bible inappropriately to make points that are not truly grounded in scripture, demonstrating a lower view of the Bible.
Segment 3: Friel emphasizes that true preaching should begin, stay, and end in the Bible. He criticizes pastors who rely on cultural anecdotes, personal stories, and entertainment to engage the congregation, rather than the actual teaching of scripture. He points out that such practices reveal a lack of conviction about the Bible’s authority and sufficiency.
Segment 4: To further illustrate his point, Friel contrasts two preaching styles: one that uses cultural references (like the movie Saving Private Ryan) to make a spiritual point, and another that carefully expounds on scripture, grounding the message in the Bible itself. He argues that the latter is the “gold standard” of preaching, staying faithful to the Bible and its context without succumbing to cultural relevance.
Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
1 CORINTHIANS 4:1
The Christian Church is God’s witness to each generation, and her ministers are her voice. Through them she becomes vocal. By them she has spoken always to the world, and by them God has spoken to the Church herself.
The testimony of her godly laymen has ever been a mighty aid in the work she seeks to accomplish. But her laymen can never do, and assuredly are not called to do, the work of her ministers. By gift and calling the minister is a man apart.
To be effective the preacher’s message must be alive; it must alarm, arouse, challenge; it must be God’s present voice to a particular people. Then, and not till then, is it the prophetic word and the man himself a prophet. To fulfill his calling the prophet must be under the constant sway of the Holy Ghost; and further, he must be alert to moral and spiritual conditions. All spiritual teaching should be related to life. It should intrude into the daily and private living of the hearers.
Without being personal, the true prophet will yet pierce the conscience of each listener as if the message had been directed to him alone. Really to preach the truth it is often necessary that the man of God know the people’s hearts better than they themselves do!
Thus a minister is driven to God for wisdom. He must speak the mind of Christ and throw himself on the Holy Spirit for spiritual power and mental acumen equal to the task.1
See, my soul! the blessedness of witnessing to God, and witnessing for God. His people, the Lord saith, are called, and are, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, as lights in the world. Both Israel and Judah are included in what is here said; and by the figure of a girdle cleaving to the loins of a man, so close, so strongly bound, and extending all around, is shown the nearness, and firmness, and the security in every way, and by every direction, in which the Lord’s people are brought into relation with him. Such, then, were the Lord’s people of old, a people near to himself; and as they were the Lord’s own choice, so were they dear to the Lord; and as he had made the whole of the nation a kingdom of priests to the Lord, so were they wholly designed for the divine glory: “This people have I formed for myself; they shall show forth my praise.” Now, pause, my soul, over this blessed scripture, and contemplate with what holy rapture and delight a child of God, under the New Testament dispensation, may look up and behold his nearness and dearness to God in Christ, by virtue of his union with Jesus. Here the figure, beautiful as it is, of a girdle encircling the loins, doth not come up to the full idea of that oneness and union which the believer stands in with Jesus. For the soul not only is made by the Lord himself to cleave unto Christ, as the ivy clings to the oak, but being part of Christ’s mystical body, is, like the branch in the vine, one with Christ, and Christ with him. The believer in Jesus is interested in all that is in Jesus; and not only cleaves to him, but is part of himself, and is blessed in his blessedness, and beheld, and accepted, and loved by God the Father, as the Father loveth Jesus. And think, my soul, what unspeakable felicity ariseth out of this one consideration, that, amidst all thy coldness, and wanderings, and departures, still the Lord causeth his Judah and Israel to cleave to him. However the poor senseless child in arms lets go his holdfast, when hanging round the neck of its nurse and protector, yet the little creature falls not, because he is upheld by his support from her. So the one only cause that thou art supported and preserved from falling, is, because “the eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” It is the Lord that saith, “I have caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel, and the whole house of Judah.” And, oh! what a name, and a praise, and a glory, will be the whole redeemed Church of God in Christ, when Jesus brings them all home, and presents them to himself and Father, as “a glorious Church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish before him in love!”1
Our good Shepherd has in his flock a variety of experiences, some are strong in the Lord, and others are weak in faith, but he is impartial in his care for all his sheep, and the weakest lamb is as dear to him as the most advanced of the flock. Lambs are wont to lag behind, prone to wander, and apt to grow weary, but from all the danger of these infirmities the Shepherd protects them with his arm of power. He finds new-born souls, like young lambs, ready to perish—he nourishes them till life becomes vigorous; he finds weak minds ready to faint and die—he consoles them and renews their strength. All the little ones he gathers, for it is not the will of our heavenly Father that one of them should perish. What a quick eye he must have to see them all! What a tender heart to care for them all! What a far-reaching and potent arm, to gather them all! In his lifetime on earth he was a great gatherer of the weaker sort, and now that he dwells in heaven, his loving heart yearns towards the meek and contrite, the timid and feeble, the fearful and fainting here below. How gently did he gather me to himself, to his truth, to his blood, to his love, to his church! With what effectual grace did he compel me to come to himself! Since my first conversion, how frequently has he restored me from my wanderings, and once again folded me within the circle of his everlasting arm! The best of all is, that he does it all himself personally, not delegating the task of love, but condescending himself to rescue and preserve his most unworthy servant. How shall I love him enough or serve him worthily? I would fain make his name great unto the ends of the earth, but what can my feebleness do for him? Great Shepherd, add to thy mercies this one other, a heart to love thee more truly as I ought.1

15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. (When Christians make their Lord the subject of discourse they may hope to be favoured with his company.)
16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. (And the Lord himself also appeared to them “in another form,” so that they did not recognise him. Jesus sometimes hides himself from those whom he loves best. He may be very near us and yet we may not know him.)
17, 18 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19–24 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done. Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive. And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
25, 26 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: (He called them fools, or wanting in thought and understanding. The original words do not imply contempt; our Lord gently rebuked them for not seeing what was so plainly revealed in Scripture.) Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? (Is it not so predicted in the prophets? How could it be otherwise?)
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. (No doubt he would have done so if they had been indifferent to his company: Jesus never forces his society upon us.)
29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. (Love can always find a plea to which her Lord will yield, for he is always most willing to commune with his people.)
30, 31 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. (The precious ordinance of “breaking of bread,” is that in which Jesus manifests himself full often to his chosen, and therefore they greatly delight in it. Let none of us forget to do this in remembrance of him.)
32–34 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. (This testimony of the apostles the returning travellers were able to confirm, and they did so at once.)
35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.

Paul recounts that he was “in prisons more frequent” (2 Corinthians 11:23). As Psalm 69:33 tells us, “… the LORD … despiseth not his prisoners …” and in Psalm 146:7 we hear “The LORD looseth the prisoners!”
Jeremiah 33:3 — Growing up, it was fun to show off what you could make with Legos. But how much more amazing would it be to see the great and mighty things that the Creator of the Universe can make! Let’s call unto Him today!
Jeremiah 33:8 — Cleansed and pardoned! How can someone be cleansed? Leviticus 14:14 says that the blood of the trespass offering is needed to cleanse. Jeremiah accused them of bloodguiltiness or “any grievous sin which, if it remains, will block God’s favor to His land and people” (Jeremiah 2:34, Jeremiah 7:6, Jeremiah 19:4, Jeremiah 22:3, Jeremiah 22:17, Jeremiah 26:15). Numbers 35:33 says that the land can only be cleansed of the blood shed within its borders by the blood of him that shed it. Whose blood will be shed to pay for the penalty? Numbers 35:33 would imply that it would be Israel’s blood, but if their blood is shed, who would take the land? Only Someone who could take the iniquity of all (Isaiah 53:6). The Branch of Righteousness, the heir of David (Jeremiah 33:15), will save Judah. In the very first verse of the New Testament Jesus is identified as the Son of David (Matthew 1:1). Even the blind men could see that Jesus was the Son of David (Matthew 9:27, 20:30-32), and the Canaanite woman (Matthew 15:22).
Jeremiah 34:7 — Sennacherib had already attacked Lachish about 140 years earlier. Now it is under attack again.
In 1935, the archaeologist J.L. Starkey discovered in Lachish some broken pieces of pottery with writing on them that have become known as the Lachish Letters. We’ll discuss them more as we continue, but if you ever get to the British Museum or the Rockefeller Museum in Jerusalem, be sure to look for them.
Jeremiah 34:14 — Jeremiah notes that because the commands of Exodus 21:2 and Deuteronomy 15:12 had been neglected, the people that were released (belatedly) were now being re-enslaved!

Nearly one-third of white Americans raised in evangelical Christian households leave their childhood faith. About 60 percent of those who leave end up joining another faith tradition, while 40 percent give up on religion altogether. Avoid doctrines of devils (2 Timothy 4:1), remember doctrine (2 Timothy 4:6), good doctrine (2 Timothy 4:6), teach good doctrine (2 Timothy 4:11), give attendance to doctrine (2 Timothy 4:13), meditate on it (2 Timothy 4:15), and take heed to the doctrine (2 Timothy 4:16).
Psalm 89:3-4 — We just read in Jeremiah about the Branch of David (Jeremiah 33:15, 17, 21-22, 26) and again we’re reminded of the everlasting covenant with the seed of David!
Psalm 89:9 — This seed of David is identified as stilling the waves of the raging seas! In Matthew 8:27 we see Who this is!

This promise by the context is referred to the much afflicted righteous man: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” He may suffer skin wounds and flesh wounds, but no great harm shall be done; “not a bone of him shall be broken.”
This is great comfort to a tried child of God, and comfort which I dare accept; for up to this hour I have suffered no real damage from my many afflictions. I have neither lost faith, nor hope, nor love. Nay so far from losing these bones of character, they have gained in strength and energy. I have more knowledge, more experience, more patience, more stability than I had before the trials came. Not even my joy has been destroyed. Many a bruise have I had by sickness, bereavement, depression, slander, and opposition; but the bruise has healed, and there has been no compound fracture of a bone, not even a simple one. The reason is not far to seek. If we trust in the Lord, He keeps all our bones; and if He keeps them, we may be sure that not one of them is broken.
Come, my heart, do not sorrow. Thou art smarting, but there are no bones broken. Endure hardness and bid defiance to fear.

Normally, Aurora, a suburb of Denver, is quiet, but recent months have seen the city, like many others throughout America, plagued by intense gang violence linked to “Tren de Aragua.”

On Wednesday, Joe Biden announced another massive government giveaway — $4.7 billion in student loan debt transfer from roughly 60,000 borrowers to taxpayers. Of course, that’s not the way Biden put it. “For too long,” he said, “the government failed to live up to its commitments, and only 7,000 people had ever received forgiveness under Public Service Loan Forgiveness before Vice President Kamala Harris and I took office. Now, over 1 million public service workers have gotten the relief they are entitled to under the law.” His total handout is now $175 billion for nearly five million people. As the Republican National Committee observed earlier this year, “Over 60 percent of Americans don’t have a college degree, but Joe Biden wants hardworking taxpayers to foot higher education bills for the elite few. In Biden’s desperate attempt to use your money to buy votes, American families are left behind.” Yep.
Trump leads Harris 50-48 in weird Fox poll: Things have been trending Donald Trump’s way lately, but we’re not sure what to make of the latest Fox News poll, which has Trump ahead of Kamala Harris 50-48. Yes, Trump reaching the 50 threshold for the first time against Harris is big news, especially given that the same poll previously had Harris ahead by the same 50-48 margin. But the poll says he’s trailing in the battleground states by six points. This seems like a bizarre outlier unless Trump is somehow hemorrhaging votes in the swing states while making massive inroads everywhere else. As Fox News reports: “A majority remember his time in office positively: 53% approve of the job he did as president. That is 4 points higher than he ever received while in office. Fully 93% of Republicans approve, as do 74% of non-MAGA Republicans and 45% of independents.” We can perhaps chalk some of Trump’s apparent leakage in the swing states to Harris’s overwhelming cash advantage and ad-buying, but six points? When the RealClearPolitics average has Trump ahead in the battlegrounds by nearly a point? We’d like a second opinion.

Harris flip-flops on oil (for now): Back in 2019, during her failed run for the Democrat presidential nomination, Kamala Harris warned oil companies she was coming for them. She promised to take these oil companies to court and force them to pay for their contribution to climate change. Harris was also a big proponent of the Green New Deal, even pledging to eliminate the filibuster to get it passed. But a funny thing has happened since her undemocratic installation as the Democrat presidential nominee: Harris is no longer so anti-oil. Indeed, now she sounds like J.R. Ewing running around praising “the country’s record oil and gas production.” Gone is her previous rhetoric of wanting to get oil drilling companies “not only in the pocketbook but let’s make sure there are severe and serious penalties for their behaviors.” So which is it? Does Harris want to punish or promote Big Oil?
Supreme Court clears way for Biden’s plan to cut power plant emissions (Washington Post)
Why are docs now so concerned with presidential fitness? Donald Trump is 78 years old, but he’s a young 78 by all accounts. He can still stripe his drives down the fairway, and he can still engage an astute audience for more than 100 minutes with no notes and no teleprompters. But it’s clearly a sign of the times that “more than 230 doctors, nurses and health care professionals, most of whom are backing Vice President Kamala Harris, are calling on … Trump to release his medical records, arguing that he should be transparent about his health ‘given his advancing age.’” Ah, transparency. Where have these paragons of transparency been for the past four years while we’ve been beating the drum that Joe Biden was cognitively unfit for the presidency, and that he was being propped up by a political party hell-bent on nothing more than power? The aforementioned letter was organized by the group “Doctors for Harris,” which, CBS News tells us, ostensibly with a straight face, “is unaffiliated with Harris’ campaign.”

Venezuelan gang takes over in Texas: What ABC News’s Martha Raddatz shrugged off as only “a handful of apartment complexes” having been taken over by the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA) is proving to be a much bigger problem. TdA is infamous for drug running and human trafficking, but it’s apparently also keen on expanding its criminal interest into real estate. Apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado, aren’t the only residences that have been taken over by TdA. The Venezuelan gang has similarly taken over at least four apartment complexes in San Antonio, Texas. According to local law enforcement, TdA has been taking over and controlling these apartment units for the past five to six months and has been using them to rent out to migrants, drug-dealing bases, and prostitution dens where women and children are being sex-trafficked. TdA’s method in San Antonio mirrored the way it took over the Aurora complex — a bunch of armed gang members suddenly stormed apartments and took them over.
Ted Cruz mops the floor with Colin Allred: Texas Senator Ted Cruz is in a tough reelection fight with a chameleon challenger, a former NFL linebacker with a fetish for men competing against women in sports. But the two-term senator will likely get some separation due to his debate performance on Tuesday night — a performance whose key moment was a devastating takedown of Colin Allred on that very topic. “Four times,” said Cruz, “he has come out for men playing in women’s sports and boys playing in girl’s sports. … There was a bill, it was a very simple bill, it was narrowly defined. It was protecting women and girl’s sports. He voted no. … Congressman Allred was an NFL linebacker. … And just two weeks ago, [he] joined a hundred radical Democrats in demanding that our military allow drag shows on military bases, pay for soldiers to have sex changes using taxpayer money, and pay for children to be sterilized and have sex changes on military bases.” Cruz, Princeton University’s debate “Speaker of the Year” in 1992, currently leads in the RealClearPolitics average by four points, but none of that polling reflects Tuesday’s debate.

Trump eyes flipping fries: It’s been more than a month since we learned that Kamala Harris, she of that middle-class household, was likely lying about having worked at McDonald’s. We weren’t surprised, given how increasingly out of touch Democrats have become and how desperate they are to identify with regular folks. Donald Trump, on the other hand, never worked at McDonald’s, nor did he ever claim to have done so. At least until this weekend. In a first-class troll job, the former president has announced that he’ll be flipping fries in Pennsylvania on Sunday, all to call attention to his opponent’s lie. “I’m going to a McDonald’s to work,” Trump said, “because if I work there for 10 minutes, I will have worked there longer than her.”
Pro-Israel prof barred from Columbia: Columbia University has temporarily barred assistant professor Shai Davidai from campus. Columbia accused Davidai of repeatedly harassing and intimidating school employees. According to spokesman Ben Chang, the school has “consistently and continually” upheld Davidai’s right to free speech, but this ban is a “direct result” of his conduct on the one-year anniversary of the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel. Chang insisted that Columbia “does not tolerate threats of intimidation, harassment, or other threatening behavior by its employees.” Just its students. Davidai, who is an Israeli, believes this decision is retaliation for his confrontation with university officials during a pro-Palestinian campus demonstration that was caught on video and shared on social media. Davidai also posted on X: “I don’t care about my future. It’s never been about me.” Instead, he said, “I care about what this acceptance of anti-Jewish, anti-Israeli, and anti-American terrorism means for the students on campus.” Columbia has not suspended Davidai, but he will be required to complete an employee conduct training program before he’s allowed back on campus.
Bret Baier said he had 75 questions ready for Kamala Harris. He got to ask maybe eight of them.
But that’s what you get when you book a tightly scripted post turtle who shows up 15 minutes late for a five o’clock interview and then proceeds to dodge, delay, and deceive her way through a 26-minute exchange.
What you don’t get, though, is decent answers to good questions. And Baier, to his credit, asked some good, thoughtful questions. In doing so, he disproved the doubters, including me, who’d been prepared for the worst, prepared for a series of cupcakes of the sort she’s been getting all along from the mainstream media.
One of those tough questions was about a Donald Trump campaign ad that shows Harris trumpeting taxpayer-funded sex-change operations for illegal immigrants, even if they’re imprisoned. Baier rolled the tape, and there she was, in a setting she certainly regrets.
How did Harris respond when Baier asked her about it? “I will follow the law,” she said, and then she really reached:
It’s a law that Donald Trump actually followed. Um, you’re probably familiar with, now it’s a public report, that under Donald Trump’s administration, these, uh, surgeries, were available to, on a medical necess- necessity basis, to people in the federal prison system, and I think frankly, that ad from the Trump campaign is a little bit of like, throwing, you know, stones when you’re living in a glass house.
That’s quite a word salad, but I don’t remember Trump promoting any such perversion. Baier brought this up, noting, “The Trump aides say that he never advocated for that prison policy, and no gender transition surgeries happened during his presidency.”
“Well, you know what?” snapped Harris. “You’ve got to take responsible [sic] for what happens in your administration.” (Note to self: Tell Trump to put his best ad team on this ill-advised sentence. Taking responsibility for what’s transpired within the Biden administration seems like a target-rich environment.)
Baier persisted, though, and in what would be a common occurrence during the interview, he circled back to the original question: “Would you still advocate for using taxpayer dollars for gender reassignment surgeries?”
To which Harris replied with — you guessed it — “I will follow the law.”
If you had “I was raised in a middle-class household” on your bingo card, you came away disappointed. Perhaps she and her team noticed that even Saturday Night Live is making fun of that line. Still, if you had “transnational criminal organizations” on your card, bingo.
Baier pressed hard on the border issue, which was good because border security is, next to the economy and abortion, among the issues that most animate the voters. “You’ve said repeatedly that the border was secure,” began Baier. “When in your mind did it start becoming a crisis?”
“I think it dep-, we’ve had a broken immigration system, transcending, by the way, Donald Trump’s administration, even before. Let’s all be honest about that.”
Again, though, no answer to Baier’s question.
Harris said she no longer supports decriminalizing illegal border crossings, and when Baier pointed out that her running mate, Tim Walz, has turned Minnesota into a sanctuary state replete with goodies and giveaways for illegals, she said, “We are very clear, and I am very clear, as is Tim Walz, that we must support and enforce federal law, and that is exactly what we will do.”
When Baier surmised that these were “evolutions” in her positions, Harris got snippy: “Well, let’s be very clear. I’m the only person who’s running for president who has prosecuted [— wait for it! —] transnational criminal organizations, from the Sinaloa cartel to the Guadalajara quotel, er, cartel.”
Harris’s strongest moment came when she unburdened herself from what has been. When Baier pressed her about her inability to say what she’d do differently than Joe Biden, she said: “Let me be very clear: My presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s presidency. And like every new president that comes into office, I will bring my life experiences, professional experiences, and fresh and new ideas.”
This was as close to a Sister Souljah moment as Harris is ever likely to come, but she still fell far short.
Indeed, Harris fell short across the board. Baier grilled her on a new Marquette Law School poll indicating that a stunning 79% of Americans believe the country is on the wrong track. “If it’s on the wrong track,” said Baier, “that track follows three and a half years of you being vice president and President Biden being president. That is what they’re saying, 79% of them. Why are they saying that? If you’re turning the page, you’ve been in office for three and a half years.”
To which Harris stupefyingly responded, “And Donald Trump has been running for office since…”
It was around this point that you could actually see her start to sweat.
Harris then launched into a semi-coherent rant on “unstable” and “dangerous” Trump, but Baier turned the light back on her: “You told many interviewers that Joe Biden was on his game; that he ran circles around his staff. When did you first notice that President Biden’s mental faculties appeared diminished?”
This question elicited the longest pause of the night, after which an uncomfortable Harris responded: “Joe Biden, I have watched in, from the Oval Office to the Situation Room. And he has the judgment and the experiment [sic] experience to do exactly what he has done in making very important decisions on behalf of the American people. Bret, Joe Biden is not on the ballot. And Donald Trump, Donald Trump is.”
Toward the end of the interview, as Harris was fumbling her way through a question about Iran, Baier looked up and to his right and nodded nervously. This was his signal from Harris’s handlers to wrap it up.
Unfortunately for the candidate, the damage had already been done.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Teary-eyed sources at the Washington Post have just confirmed that the paper’s entire staff has just been given the day off to mourn the loss of the Hamas leader who masterminded the Oct. 7 attacks in 2023.
According to mid-level WaPo editors who spoke under condition of anonymity, all of the staffers, writers, and editors had managed to drag themselves into work but were simply too dispirited to do anything more than a few half-hearted tweets critical of Trump and JD Vance.
“People were crying everywhere,” said one WaPo writer. “In the breakroom, in the bullpen, in the editor’s office — there wasn’t a dry eye in the building. Without our Hamas boy, how are we going to keep going? Who else is going to orchestrate brutal rape attacks of glorious liberation without our main man? We even used to send him a donation every few days…maybe it’ll go to fund his underaged widows and children. Ultimately, we couldn’t stand the sorrow and the editors chucked in the towel and gave us the day off.”
Other WaPo employees were unable to comment, as most of them were still crying and two of them were already busy looking at shirtless pictures of Tim Walz.
At publishing time, CNN, the New York Times, The Atlantic, and MSNBC had also had to give all of their employees a paid day off to mourn the Hamas loss.

ATLANTA, GA — Continuing her push to bolster support among minority voters, Vice President Kamala Harris appealed to black voters by offering each of them a free pack of menthols and a copy of Madea’s Family Reunion on DVD.
With her support from black males slipping despite her recent announcement to offer free cash and legal weed, Harris held an emergency meeting with her campaign staff to determine what special incentives could bring her popularity back up.
“We struck out with offering to legalize drugs, and everyone called us racist — but we were not deterred,” said Harris-Walz campaign staffer Elaine Johnson said. “If offering cash and weed was a no-go, how about a pack of menthols and a Madea DVD? Tyler Perry is still popular with the, uh, black people, right?”
When asked about the move, Vice President Harris had only one brief comment: “Madea! HAHAHA! Am I right? HAHAHA!”
At publishing time, black voters had reportedly reminded her that the DVD came out in 2006 and it was her administration that worked to ban menthol cigarettes.

EXCLUSIVE: House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer revealed his committee’s oversight work of the Biden-Harris administration, telling Fox News Digital that Americans “cannot afford” another term of “incompetence.”
Vice President Kamala Harris has “been an active participant in the worst administration in U.S. history that has inflicted untold harm on the American people,” Comer told Fox News Digital.
Comer compiled a 72-page report with the committee’s “118th Congress accomplishments,” highlighting the committee’s work — including its investigation into the Biden family’s domestic and international business dealings, oversight of the Biden-Harris administration’s border crisis, as well as probing the fraud and abuse related to COVID unemployment relief benefits and the infiltration of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the U.S.
“Republicans on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee are committed to achieving what Democrats have neglected: rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse within the federal government and holding the Biden-Harris Administration accountable,” he said. “We have succeeded.”
“Our thorough oversight and investigations have revealed rampant waste, fraud, abuse and mismanagement in the Biden-Harris Administration, and we’ve provided the transparency and accountability the American people demand,” Comer said.
The report included the committee’s latest Secret Service oversight following the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at his Butler, Pennsylvania, rally in July. Then-Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned the day after she publicly testified before the committee.
“Americans cannot afford another four years of the same failed policies and incompetence,” Comer told Fox News Digital.
“Vice President Kamala Harris has been an active participant in the worst administration in U.S. history that has inflicted untold harm on the American people,” Comer continued. “We must return to pro-growth, America-first policies to restore prosperity, liberty, and security for the American people.”
During the 118th Congress, the House Oversight Committee held 135 hearings, sent more than 600 investigative letters, issued 51 subpoenas, heard testimony from 112 government witnesses and saw 23 bills passed in the House — with three signed into law.
The committee investigated the Biden family’s business dealings, finding that from 2014 to the present, Biden family members and their associates received more than $27 million from foreign individuals or entities. The committee claimed that the family set up shell companies to conceal the payments from scrutiny.
The White House previously ripped the investigation as an “evidence-free, politically-motivated” probe.
Comer also co-led the impeachment inquiry into President Biden. Comer’s Oversight Committee led the inquiry after its monthslong investigation into the Biden family’s business dealings, alongside the House Judiciary Committee and House Ways & Means Committee.
The committees concluded that Biden engaged in “impeachable conduct, “abused his office” and “defrauded the United States to enrich his family.”
“We also exposed Joe Biden’s corruption at the highest levels of government as he actively participated in his family’s influence peddling racket that made the Bidens millions from Chinese, Russian and other foreign entities,” Comer told Fox News Digital.
From those investigations, Comer, Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and Ways & Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith sent criminal referrals to the Justice Department recommending Hunter Biden and James Biden be charged with making false statements to Congress about key aspects of the impeachment inquiry.
The White House discounted the committee’s investigations, calling the impeachment inquiry a “failed stunt” that “will only be remembered for how it became an embarrassment that their own members distanced themselves from as they only managed to turn up evidence that refuted their false and baseless conspiracy theories.”
Following the investigation, Comer introduced the bipartisan Presidential Ethics Reform Act — a bill requiring presidents and vice presidents to disclose conflicts of interest while in office and disclose foreign payments, expensive gifts, loan transactions and tax returns during the two-year period prior to taking office, time in office, and for two years after leaving office. That bill also required presidents and vice presidents to make disclosures for immediate family members who receive foreign payments and other gifts, or who use official travel for personal business.
Regarding its oversight of the Biden-Harris administration’s border crisis, Comer said the committee found there have been more than 8 million illegal immigrants encountered entering the country and over 1.9 million gotaways — illegal immigrants who avoided agents but were detected by other forms of surveillance — since they took office.
As for China, Comer sent letters to 25 federal agencies to investigate whether officials were aware of CCP outreach to the American public. The committee held briefings with 23 federal agencies revealing “there is no cohesive, government-wide strategy to identify, deter, and defeat CCP political warfare.”
The committee also found that American taxpayers lost more than $100 billion to fraud and improper payments as a result of temporary unemployment insurance programs created in response to COVID-19.
The committee also investigated Biden-Harris administration officials implementing a “radical environmental agenda” that Comer said is “jeopardizing jobs, energy security, and national security.”
Meanwhile, after the July 13 assassination attempt against Trump, Comer launched an oversight investigation into the U.S. Secret Service, acting “quickly” to investigate the “historic failure and prevent a similar incident from happening again in the future.”
Comer held an immediate hearing with Cheatle, who testified publicly about the egregious security lapses that led to the assassination attempt of Trump and the murder of an innocent attendee, Corey Comperatore.
Cheatle resigned the following day.
Most recently, Comer launched an investigation into Harris’ running-mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, for alleged connections to the CCP.
Comer said the committee’s “effective, targeted oversight has led to transparency, accountability, and solutions for the American people.”

I completely understand why people are so focused on this election, but what is about to happen in the Middle East has the potential to change the course of history. Once Israel attacks Iran, nothing will ever be the same again. Iran has already promised to hit Israel back extremely hard, and that would compel Israel to attack Iran again. According to CNN, U.S. officials are saying that they expect Israel to attack Iran before the U.S. presidential election on November 5th…
American officials expect Israel will retaliate against Iran for its attack earlier this month before November 5, sources tell CNN, a timeline that would thrust the growing volatility in the Middle East squarely into public view within days of the American presidential election.
The timeline and parameters of Israel’s retaliation against Iran have been subject to intense debate inside Israel’s government and are not directly related to the timing of the US election, the sources said.
Still, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — described by senior US administration officials as a political animal deeply attuned to American politics — appears highly sensitive to any potential political ramifications of Israel’s actions in the US, they said.
If this report is accurate, that means that the attack on Iran will almost certainly occur before the end of October.
CNN is also reporting that Israel’s military plan for a strike on Iran “is ready”…
Israel’s plan to respond to Iran’s October 1 attack is ready, a source familiar with the matter told CNN, without providing further information.
CNN has reached out to the Israeli ministry of defense for comment.
If the plan “is ready”, that would seem to infer that the specific targets have already been selected.
According to Channel 12 news, the military presented a list of targets to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Gallant as it finalizes preparations, which include “sensitive coordination” with other countries in the region.
A report by the Kan public broadcaster said “the political echelon” had decided on the targets, without specifying which officials or decision-making forum.
“The targets are clear. Now it’s a matter of time,” an Israeli source told the broadcaster.
That sounds pretty definitive.
It is clear that an attack is coming.
The only question now is what day it will happen.
Will the Israeli government wait until after the Feast of Tabernacles to launch the strike?
If so, it would appear that the last week of October would be the most likely window of time for the attack.
Of course it is always possible that the Israeli government could order the attack to happen right away.
We just don’t know.
But what we do know is that the Iranians have told us over and over again what will happen if Israel attacks.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned UN chief Antonio Guterres that Tehran is ready for a “decisive and regretful” response if Israel attacks his country in retaliation to the almost 200 ballistic missiles at Israel on October 1.
An Iranian response would almost certainly be quite a bit larger than the missile attack that we witnessed on October 1st.
Needless to say, such an Iranian response would not cause the Israelis to back down.
Instead, Israel would just hit back even harder.
And then there would be all-out war between Israel and Iran.

Do you know who will be in charge of certifying this election? In January 2021, it was Vice-President Mike Pence, and we all remember how that turned out. Well, an even more interesting scenario is shaping up this time around. In January 2025, Vice-President Kamala Harris will be in charge of certifying the election. In other words, if Donald Trump wins the person that he was running against will be in charge of certifying his victory. This is a major defect in our system, and it could potentially set the stage for widespread chaos if things do not go smoothly.
With each passing day, a Trump victory is looking even more likely.
For example, a brand new Gallup survey has found that the percentage of Americans that identify as Republicans has jumped by four points since late September…
With just 20 days left until Election Day, a new Gallup poll has revealed a concerning trend for Democrats.
According to the poll, more Americans are identifying as Republicans or independents, with fewer calling themselves Democrats. Conducted from October 1-12, the poll shows a significant shift in political affiliations since mid-September, causing potential challenges for Democrats ahead of the crucial vote.
The data shows that 31% of respondents now identify as Republicans, marking a 4-point increase from the previous poll conducted in late September. Meanwhile, only 28% of Americans consider themselves Democrats, a 3-point drop over the same period. The number of independents, while still holding a significant share at 41%, dropped by 1%.

The presidential race is swinging in former President Donald Trump’s direction, according to a national poll released by Marquette.
The latest survey shows both Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris tied with 50 percent support each in a two-way race with leaners included. This reflects a four-point swing in Trump’s direction, as the last poll — released August 1 — showed Harris up by four points, garnering 52 percent support to Trump’s 48 percent support.
The survey also took a look at the results with a “full field” and found Harris up by a single percentage point — 48 percent to Trump’s 47 percent support. Another four percent said “other.” For greater perspective, the last survey showed Harris up by eight points in the full field, with 50 percent to Trump’s 42 percent.
Right now we are seeing so much enthusiasm for Trump, and the same cannot be said for Harris.
The vice president oversees the counting of Electoral College votes and announces the results. They can still do this if they are a presidential candidate and it’s happened multiple times throughout history.
Both the 12th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and federal law say the president of the Senate, which is a role that’s filled by the vice president, oversees the count of electoral votes.
According to Politico, Harris has promised that “she won’t interfere” with a peaceful transition of power…
On Jan. 6, 2025, Vice President Kamala Harris is set to preside over Congress and count the electoral votes that will make either her — or Donald Trump — the 47th president of the United States.
And like her predecessor Mike Pence, who resisted enormous pressure from Trump to upend the 2020 election results, Harris says she won’t interfere.
Hopefully that is true.
But would she really just stand aside and hand the presidency to a man that she has described as a “threat to democracy”?
“A second Trump term is a huge risk for America. He is increasingly unstable and unhinged. And he is out for unchecked power and control over your lives”
If she truly believes that Trump is going to end democracy in the United States, wouldn’t she feel compelled to take action?
That is a question that a lot of people will be asking.
Already, many on the left are suggesting that the 14th Amendment could be used to block Trump from taking office.
The following is what Section 3 of the 14th Amendment says…
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
I really hope that Democrats do not consider such a course of action if Trump wins the election.
And I really hope that we see a very peaceful transfer of power no matter who wins.
Unfortunately, many of our leaders continue to make statements that are not helpful at all.
For example, Joe Biden just said that he is very much looking forward to seeing Donald Trump get sentenced and put away…
Joe Biden said the quiet part out loud and admitted that his DOJ is working to jail Trump after the election.
“The same guy who has three other major cases waiting for him when he loses,” Biden said referring to Jack Smith’s federal cases against Trump.
“And by the way, 34 felonies,” Biden said after he sent his DOJ hatchetman Matthew Colangelo to New York to get Trump.
“He got the sentence kicked back, but I want to watch that sentence,” Biden gleefully said hoping Trump is jailed.
If Donald Trump loses this election, he is going to go to prison for the rest of his life.
So the truth is that this election means everything to Trump.
Of course this election also means everything to tens of millions of Americans on both sides of the political spectrum.
No matter what the outcome is, I fear that there will be unprecedented chaos in our streets.
Hopefully I am wrong about that.
Hopefully cooler heads will prevail.
But in our current political environment, I am certainly not optimistic about what is ahead.
