There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true. —Soren Kierkegaard. "…truth is true even if nobody believes it, and falsehood is false even if everybody believes it. That is why truth does not yield to opinion, fashion, numbers, office, or sincerity–it is simply true and that is the end of it" – Os Guinness, Time for Truth, pg.39. “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” – Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard

COLOSSIANS 1:10
Not the naked Word only but the character of the witness determines the quality of the Christian convert. The church can do no more than transplant herself. What she is in one land she will be in another. A crab apple does not become a Grimes Golden by being carried from one country to another.
God has written His law deep into all life; everything must bring forth after its kind!
It would appear logical that a subnormal, powerless church would not engage in missionary activity, but again the facts contradict the theory. Christian groups that have long ago lost every trace of moral fire nevertheless continue to grow at home and reproduce themselves in other lands.
There is a weakness too in world missionary activity carried on by the evangelical wing of the church. That weakness is the naive assumption that we have only to reach the last tribe with our brand of Christianity and the world has been evangelized! This is an assumption that we dare not make.
Evangelical Christianity is now tragically below the New Testament standard. Worldliness is an accepted part of our way of life. Our religious mood is social instead of spiritual. We have lost the art of worship. We are not producing saints. We carry on our religious activities after the methods of the modern advertiser. Our literature is shallow and our hymnody borders on sacrilege. And scarcely anyone appears to care!1
Mark the graciousness of thy God, my soul, in the readiness of his answers to thy cries. He hath said, indeed, in another sweet promise, “It shall come to pass, that before my people call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” (Isaiah 65:24.) But in addition to this, Jesus here throws in another precious assurance; for when we call, he will not only answer, but to our cry he will say, Here I am! As if, and which is indeed really the case, the Lord would have his children know, that he is always present with them; nearer to support, than any of their foes can be to hurt. Now, my soul! I charge it upon thee, this evening, that this view, and the recollection of the everlasting presence of thy Lord, be never more from thy thoughts. How full to the same purport is that blessed scripture: “As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.” (Psalm 125:2.) And if Jesus encircle them in his arms, what power shall break through to wound? If Jesus himself be their shield, what weapon shall penetrate through him to come at them? Lie down, my soul, this night, and for ever, under these blessed impressions. Jesus doth by thee as one whom his mother comforteth. When the timid child is put to bed, the tender parent will sit by her darling until he is gone to sleep. But if the child be fearful that the mother hath left the room, frequently the child sends forth a cry, until by her voice she quiets him again. Jesus doth this, and more: for when new fears arise, and darkness adds to the distress, “then shalt thou call,” saith he, “and the Lord shalt answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am!” Oh! how blessed is the thought! I am is always I am; and always here!1
If ever one of woman born might have lived without prayer, it was our spotless, perfect a Lord, and yet none was ever so much in supplication as he! Such was his love to his Father, that he loved much to be in communion with him: such his love for his people, that he desired to be much in intercession for them. The fact of this eminent prayerfulness of Jesus is a lesson for us—he hath given us an example that we may follow in his steps. The time he chose was admirable, it was the hour of silence, when the crowd would not disturb him; the time of inaction, when all but himself had ceased to labour; and the season when slumber made men forget their woes, and cease their applications to him for relief. While others found rest in sleep, he refreshed himself with prayer. The place was also well selected. He was alone where none would intrude, where none could observe: thus was he free from Pharisaic ostentation and vulgar interruption. Those dark and silent hills were a fit oratory for the Son of God. Heaven and earth in midnight stillness heard the groans and sighs of the mysterious Being in whom both worlds were blended. The continuance of his pleadings is remarkable; the long watches were not too long; the cold wind did not chill his devotions; the grim darkness did not darken his faith, or loneliness check his importunity. We cannot watch with him one hour, but he watched for us whole nights. The occasion for this prayer is notable; it was after his enemies had been enraged—prayer was his refuge and solace; it was before he sent forth the twelve apostles—prayer was the gate of his enterprise, the herald of his new work. Should we not learn from Jesus to resort to special prayer when we are under peculiar trial, or contemplate fresh endeavours for the Master’s glory? Lord Jesus, teach us to pray.1
AND when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band. And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian, being with us. And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.
4–8 And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary. And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia. And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein. And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone; And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.
9–12 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them. And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives. Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul. And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.
13, 14 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete. But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
16, 17 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat: Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.
18, 19 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship; And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.
20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
21–26 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Cæsar; and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.
For the sake of one good man all on board the vessel were preserved. May the Lord give to us, also, all who are with us. Paul was accompanied by Luke and other believers, there were also with him the courteous centurion, several prisoners, a crew of rough sailors, and a band of fierce soldiers, and God gave him all that sailed with him. We pray that all our family, our fellow church members, our servants, our neighbours, our work people, and even our enemies, may be saved. Are not our hearts large enough to pray for all? May the Lord give us faith to intercede for them, and what a joy it will be if all shall come safely through the tempests of this life to the shores of heaven! Grant it, O Lord! Amen and amen.
Ezekiel 29:1 — Did you notice the precision of Ezekiel’s dates? Continual references to the “Xth” year, in the “Yth” month, in the “Zth” day of the month. This is a formal dating system used at least 15 times in the Bible; twelve of those times are found in Ezekiel and none in Isaiah. This may be rooted in Ezekiel’s priestly heritage as opposed to Isaiah’s non-priestly heritage. Was the priest in exile careful to follow the details and dates of the Mosaic feasts?
Ezekiel 29:6 — Speaking of common phrases in Ezekiel, 51 of the 57 times that the phrase “shall know that I am the LORD” occurs in the Old Testament, it occurs in Ezekiel. We’ll see it 19 more times in this book. Compare this to the priestly declarations in Leviticus – 45 times we find the phrase “I am the LORD” as a justification (the reason why) for the laws that He created. Now 850 years later, God is using this as a justification for His judgment. The priests (representing God to man) had taught the Law as a way to know the LORD; now, 850 years later, they are teaching the judgments because people did not know the LORD.
Ezekiel 29:12 — Ellicott contends that Nebuchadnezzar sent the Egyptians captive to Babylon.
Ezekiel 30:15 — Sin in this verse is a geographical location (Sinai Peninsula) as opposed to a theological declaration.
Sin (“bush”). [1] A city on the eastern side of the Nile (Ezek. 30:15, 16). It is possibly Pelusium; but is also identified with Syene, which is present-day Aswan at the first cataract of the Nile. [2] A wilderness area located between the Gulf of Suez and Sinai (Ex. 16:1; Num. 33:11, 12).

Hebrews 11:32 — Jephthah and Samson were some of the less thrilling biblical judges, yet they were used by God in the same way as Gideon and David were!
Hebrews 11:33 — We have a godly legacy of heroes who wrought great exploits and suffered great losses (Hebrews 11:36-37). They lived by faith, and we can be glad for the Faith of our Fathers.
Hebrews 12:1-2 — How do we respond after we’ve walked through the Hall of Faith? Follow their example, run our race, look to Jesus, and ask God to make us a faithful man as well. This song is from our friend, Patch the Pirate, who named the tune after a pastor from Wisconsin that he respected for his faithful stand for the Bible.
Hebrews 12:8 — This is some of the harshest language in the Bible, yet it conveys a scary truth. If you are sinning on your race and God does not chastise you, you are an illegitimate son. John Bunyan paints a harsh scene of whipping in Pilgrim’s Progress for Christian when he was deceived off the path.

For the needy shall not always be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.Psalm 9:18
Poverty is a hard heritage; but those who trust in the Lord are made rich by faith. They know that they are not forgotten of God, and though it may seem that they are overlooked in His providential distribution of good things, they look for a time when all this shall be righted. Lazarus will not always lie among the dogs at the rich man’s gate, but he will have his recompense in Abraham’s bosom. Even now the Lord remembers His poor but precious sons, “I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me,” said one of old, and it is even so. The godly poor have great expectations. They expect the Lord to provide them all things necessary for this life and godliness; they expect to see things working for their good; they expect to have all the closer fellowship with their Lord, who had not where to lay His head; they expect His second advent and to share its glory. This expectation cannot perish, for it is laid up in Christ Jesus, who liveth forever, and because He lives, it shall live also. The poor saint singeth many a song which the rich sinner cannot understand. Wherefore, let us, when we have short commons below, think of the royal table above.
It’s hard to describe the level of contempt the Scribes felt for Jesus. They were blasphemous, to their eventual doom. But until that day, the Scribes were a gang like no other gang, and they poured out their invective on their own Messiah!
Copyright The Cooper Gallery / Supplied by The Public Catalogue Foundation
The Scribes were THE authority of the day when it came to scriptures. They were learned and revered and if they weren’t revered, they expected to be. Lots of ego investment in their job.
Being a scribe came with a high esteem, the people regarded them highly because of their literacy, their education, and their influence in the community
The scribes taught the Law, and did so since Ezra the Scribe (who was also a priest) through to the time of Jesus and beyond to today. The scribe’s job was to copy and recopy the scrolls, preserve them, and interpret them. But that was not all. They were the interpreters of the Law.
We always think of the Pharisees’ collusion against Jesus then second, the Sadducees for their hatred and collusion to get rid of Jesus. But probably the Scribes exceeded or at least equaled both of those groups in their hatred of Jesus.
They went into Capernaum; and immediately on the Sabbath Jesus entered the synagogue and began to teach. 22And they were amazed at His teaching; for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. (Mark 1:21-22)
Here is a transcript from a sermon of a pastor I know describing how seriously the scribes hated Jesus. It’s based on Mark 1:21-22 verses above. Here is a transcript from a sermon describing how seriously the scribes hated Jesus. Once you see it all listed you can almost feel their hostility through the screen.
Begin sermon excerpt-
“The people contrasted Jesus’s teaching with that of the scribes. Now, when you hear the word scribe, you probably think of someone who copies manuscripts or writes documents. And that’s one way to use the word. And that was certainly true in the day of Jesus.“
“But in the Jewish religious system of those days, the scribes were considered experts in the Mosaic law and the traditions handed down by the rabbis. That was their chief role. They were part of the elite religious authority and were looked on as authoritative teachers.”
But Mark’s gospel exposes them for what they really were, corrupt teachers who denied Jesus’s power and authority. They’re never cast in a positive light throughout this book.
“In the pages ahead, Mark shows, for example,“
They accused Jesus of blasphemy. Chapter 2, verse 6.
They condemned him for eating with sinners and tax collectors. Chapter 2, verse 16.
They spread the rumor that he was possessed by the prince of demons and derived his power from Satan. Chapter 3, verse 22.
They demanded to know why he didn’t walk according to the tradition of the elders. Chapter 7, verse 5.
They rejected him. Chapter 8, verse 31.
And were responsible for plotting his death. Chapter 10, verse 33.
They feared him and wanted to find a way to destroy him. Chapter 11, verse 18.
They demanded to know by what authority he taught and performed signs. Chapter 11, verse 28.
They tried to trick him and entrap him. Chapter 12, verse 28.
They came with Judas to arrest him. Chapter 14, verse 43.
They tried him unfairly. Chapter 14, verse 53.
And sentenced him to death. Chapter 15, verse 1.
They even mocked him on the cross. Chapter 15, verse 31.

Now, that is not to say that the Pharisees also didn’t blaspheme and point their invective toward Christ, also.
But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “This man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons.” (Matthew 12:24).
They could not deny a miracle had occurred, but they decided to cast aspersions on Jesus rather than glorify Him for casting out demons!
Barnes’ Notes on that verse says,
“Here was a manifest miracle, an exertion of power unquestionably superior to what people could put forth. The common people were fast drawing the proper inference from it, and coming into the belief that this was the Messiah. The authority and power of the Pharisees were declining. Unless, therefore, some way should be devised of accounting for these facts, their influence would be at an end.” Source Barnes’ Notes
Uh-oh! Can’t let that happen!
“Whatever way of accounting for them was adopted, it was necessary that they should acknowledge that there was “superhuman power.” The people were fully persuaded of this, and no man could deny it. They therefore ascribed it to the prince of the devils – to Beelzebub. In this they had two objectives:” (Barnes)
–To concede to the people that here was a “miracle,” or a work above mere human power. –To throw all possible contempt on Jesus. Beelzebub, or Beelzebul, as it is in the Greek, and correctly rendered in the margin, was an opprobrious name given to the leader of the devils as an expression of supreme contempt. (Barnes)
Unable to deny that a miracle occurred, there were only two options, its power came from heaven. or the power came from hell. They chose hell. Gill’s Exposition says of the Matthew 12 verse,
but to deprive him of the glory of the miracle, and even reproach him for it, and to bring him into contempt with the people they not only speak of him in a scornful manner, “this” sorry man, “this” vile fellow; but ascribe the miracle he wrought to familiarity with the devil, to diabolical influence and skill in magic art: they pretended he was in confederacy with Satan source Gill’s Exposition of the Entire Bible
This shows that the Pharisees and Scribes knew that satan and his demons had supernatural (magical) power. That they could do miracles. In fact, let us remember the wizards at Pharaoh’s throne who performed miracles along with Moses…until the power of God through Moses outpaced the wizards and they could not keep up, as we see in these verses (Exodus 7:11, Exodus 8:18).
Imagine being so invested in your ego, your position, your title, that you’d rather deny the glory of Jesus standing in front of you and point to hell instead.
But the power of sin is so great. We love ourselves. We love ourselves almost more than anything. It’s why Jesus said “love your neighbor as yourself” – that is a most powerful love but we are supposed to turn it outward instead of inward (like the Scribes, Pharisees, and Sadducees did).
The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever, according to the Westminster Shorter Catechism. Enjoy our God from heaven and praise Him that He saved us from declaring He operated from hell.
Did Jesus claim to be God? Christians say yes, but skeptics argue Jesus never claimed this. Who did Jesus believe he was? What claims did he make about his identity? Can we make a definitive case that Jesus believed he was God? I think we can.
Notice, by the way, that there are more ways for Jesus to affirm his divinity than simply saying, “I am God.” With that in mind, note an interesting clue in Matthew’s Gospel that speaks clearly to Jesus’ identity, helping us to establish who Jesus believed he was.
After Jesus’ baptism, he was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness and was tempted by the devil three times. For the third temptation, the devil took Jesus to a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and said, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me” (Matt. 4:9).
Jesus responded, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only’” (Matt. 4:10).
Jesus, quoting from Deuteronomy 6:13, affirms that God alone is to be worshiped and resists Satan by obeying that command.
Nothing strange so far, but as we investigate the rest of the book of Matthew, we encounter something odd.
Early in Jesus’ life, magi from the east come to see him. The following passages tell us why:
Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him. (Matt. 2:2)
After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. (Matt. 2:11)
Worship? Why did the magi worship Jesus? Were Mary and Joseph okay with that? It seems odd they would be if they knew the command that worship was reserved for God alone.
Of course, sometimes parents do weird things. Maybe Mary and Joseph had a lapse in judgment. It’s not Jesus’ fault that his parents let the magi worship him.
But Jesus doesn’t get off the hook that easily. Look at what happens in Matthew 14:33 after Jesus walks on water:
And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “You are certainly God’s Son!”
What? Jesus allowed the disciples to worship him? I thought God alone deserved worship. You’d expect Jesus to rebuke his disciples for worshiping someone other than God. When you read the rest of this passage, though, you don’t find any such rebuke.
This event isn’t an isolated occurrence, either. Look at what Matthew 28:9 says about the women who found Jesus’ tomb empty:
And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him.
Once again, why doesn’t Jesus reject their worship if God alone is to be worshiped?
Matthew isn’t the only author who records Jesus accepting worship. John 9:38, Hebrews 1:6, and Revelation 5:11–14 all show Jesus being worshiped, too.
Here’s how the math adds up. In Matthew, Jesus says that only God should be worshiped. Yet the same Gospel records that he received worship three times and never rejected it. Therefore, Jesus thought it correct when others worshiped him. Therefore, Jesus thought he was God.
When someone says Jesus never claimed to be God, show them these passages in Matthew. After reading the verses for them, ask this one simple question—Why would Jesus allow his followers to worship him, without rebuke, if God alone is to be worshiped?
Have you ever contemplated that before time began God had you on His mind? Not only that but His love for you was so great that even though you lived dead in your transgressions and sins (Ephesians 2:1), and totally separated from God, our heavenly Father, in eternity passed, formed an incredible cosmic rescue mission with you in mind.
I love how Billy Graham phrased this great plan of redemption: “God undertook the most dramatic rescue operation in cosmic history. He determined to save the human race from self-destruction. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to salvage and redeem it. The work of man’s redemption was accomplished at the cross.”1
In perhaps one of the most wonderful sections of Scripture we see both the initial timing of the rescue plan (before the creation of the world) and the method (the blood of Christ) as well as the results (that we become holy and blameless in His sight).
If you have never read about this cosmic rescue plan or only casually read over (Ephesians 1), I challenge you to read and re-read these amazing verses below. I don’t know about you but whenever I read this portion of the Bible I am blown away by not only the rescue plan, but by how special I must be to God, that He would predestine me for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ!
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3-10).
My friends, God loves you so much, that while He won’t violate your free will, He has done everything, including the death of His own Son, to woo us back to Himself. Picture it this way. God is infinitely holy and our sin filled lives have caused a cataclysmic separation from His presence. As a result of this impossible separation the only thing an infinitely holy God could do to bridge this gap was to provide an infinite level of love – enter Jesus Christ! For you see while God’s holiness demands payment for our sin, His love offers pardon!
May we not try to fully comprehend how a rescue plan of the magnitude of Calvary, could be fashioned before the creation of the world, but instead just bow before our great God and accept His free gift of salvation through His son Jesus Christ!
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In the wake of Kamala Harris’ embarrassing defeat in the recent presidential election, top politicians in the Democrat Party have stepped forward and vowed to improve their outreach to “disgusting, bigoted, misogynists” next time around.
“We’ve seen our mistakes and we plan to do better next time,” Schumer said before quickly checking to make sure his dentures were in. “We simply failed to connect with the racists, filthy garbage, bigoted misogynists, privileged supremacists, and Literally Hitlers who make up a bit more than half the country’s population. We really need to start making inroads with the bad, evil, repulsive half of the country.”
Democrats have reportedly also vowed to do better in reaching out to young men by insulting them and telling them that they are the root of all evil everywhere even more.
At publishing time, Democrats had reportedly promised to help bring the hostility of public rhetoric down by peacefully supporting Literal Satan’s assumption of power in January.

GOP keeps its crucial House majority: Decision Desk HQ calls itself “a leading provider of real-time election results, race calls, and data,” and given the mainstream media’s unwillingness to venture a verdict on the foremost outstanding question of the 2024 election cycle, we’re inclined to welcome some informed speculation. As The Hill reports, “Republicans are projected to keep control of the House of Representatives, handing the party total control of Washington with President-elect Trump back in the White House in January. Decision Desk HQ projected the GOP would hold the House by winning its 218th seat on Monday, the number needed for a majority in the lower chamber. … The final House breakdown is uncertain, with ballots still being counted for several races in California. But Republicans are expected to have another slim majority heading into the new Congress.” Still, this is spectacularly good news for the Trump agenda. Even with his landslide victory, Donald Trump’s second term would’ve been entirely, radically different if the Democrats had wrested control of the gavels, of the purse, of the legislative agenda, and of the power to subpoena witnesses and hold impeachment hearings, as they did twice during Trump’s first term.
Lake loses AZ: Democrat Representative Ruben Gallego has defeated Kari Lake for Arizona’s open Senate seat, leaving Republicans with a 53-seat majority in the upper chamber. A four-seat Senate majority would have been a bonus, but the fact that Republicans have gained control of the Senate is a big win as it ensures that Donald Trump will be able to get his cabinet and judicial nominees confirmed quickly. This was Lake’s second consecutive failed election bid; in 2022, she ran for Arizona governor, losing to Democrat Katie Hobbs. Lake is a staunch Trump supporter who echoed many of Trump’s claims regarding the 2020 election, for which she’s been smeared by Democrats and Leftmedia talkingheads as an “election denier.” Gallego will now fill the seat vacated by the departing Kyrsten Sinema, who left the Democrat Party to become independent last year before declining to seek reelection.
Schumer’s election denialism: Soon-to-be Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has refused to recognize Republican Dave McCormick’s election victory in Pennsylvania over Democrat incumbent Bob Casey Jr.. Schumer wants to prohibit McCormick from attending the Senate orientation, citing a number of outstanding ballots. A spokesman for Schumer explained, “With over 100,000 ballots left to be counted in Pennsylvania, the race has not been decided. As is custom, we will invite the winner once the votes are counted.” Senate Republicans blasted Schumer over his decision, with Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) posting on X, “Schumer and Senate Democrats are denying the election results in #PASen. Trying to block @DaveMcCormickPA from attending Senate orientation this week is an outrage. Casey must concede immediately or Senate Democrats face consequences.” Despite Schumer’s decision, McCormick is still planning to attend the orientation.
Who will lead the Republican-controlled Senate? With the House of Representatives now secured and the GOP in control of both the upper and lower legislative chambers, attention turns to the race to replace the occasionally catatonic 82-year-old Mitch McConnell as the GOP’s Senate leader. The race has three contestants: staunch Trump ally Rick Scott and two hand-picked establishment candidates, John Thune and John Cornyn. The latter two are from the McConnellite wing of the GOP’s Senate caucus, and they should therefore be viewed suspiciously in terms of their willingness to pursue Trump’s America First agenda. “I think everybody realizes that we need to make a change,” Scott told Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo, in something of an understatement. Scott, incidentally, has the endorsement of his fellow Florida senator, Marco Rubio, and he no doubt will have Trump’s endorsement as well, if Trump decides to weigh in. That Leader McConnell refused to use his massive Senate election war chest to help Scott secure reelection this year gives us a sense of the animus between these two GOP factions.

Parole program nullified: Joe Biden’s mass illegal alien amnesty action dubbed “parole in place” granted legal status to illegal aliens married to American citizens and illegal alien stepchildren of American citizens. Well, the lawless chief executive just got another rebuke, as U.S. District Judge John Campbell Barker has ruled that the program itself is illegal. Barker noted that the DHS lacked “statutory authority under” the law to parole illegal aliens. The program would have applied to at least 550,000 illegal aliens, but the actual number was likely many times higher. The Biden administration rolled out the program in June, but 16 states sued to prevent it from taking effect. As America First Legal Executive Director Gene Hamilton observed, had these states not acted to stop Biden, his action would have “paved the path for the largest administrative amnesty in American history.”
FBI’s Wray girds for long-overdue defenestration: When it became clear last week that Donald Trump would sweep to an electoral landslide, FBI Director Christopher Wray realized he’d better dust off the ol’ résumé. The question now is whether, having read the writing on the wall, Wray will resign his office or force Trump to fire him. Wray and Trump’s team “are planning for the possibility that the president-elect will replace Wray during the new administration,” NBC News reports. “One person under consideration for Wray’s job is Trump adviser Kash Patel, who is also being considered to lead the CIA, according to two other sources.” Wray has been on thin ice all along. He was appointed by Trump in 2017 to the customary 10-year term, but he has consistently meted out two-tiered justice during his tenure, targeting concerned parents and pro-life Catholics, among others. Beyond that, he presided over a corrupt bureau that nakedly interfered in the 2020 election to the benefit of Joe Biden. And given that he serves at the pleasure of the president, we sense that this is a matter of “when,” not “if.”
Iran’s assassination attempts exposed: Just as the U.S. dollar and stock markets soared upon news of Donald Trump’s landslide election, Iran’s mullahs saw their currency fall to an all-time low. Alas, they backed the wrong horse. The rogue regime’s leadership is apparently “terrified” of a Trump presidency, and rightly so. It’s one thing to root against an American presidential candidate, but it’s quite another to try to assassinate him. As ABC News reports: “Three people have been charged in a series of alleged Iran-linked murder plots, with one of them accused of trying to assassinate President-elect Donald Trump … according to a criminal complaint unsealed Friday in New York.” Apparently, one of the suspects “told the FBI that during an Oct. 7 meeting with his [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] handler he was asked to provide a plan within seven days to kill Trump. If it could not be done in that timeframe, the IRGC would pause its plan to kill Trump until after the election ‘because IRGC Official-1 assessed that [Trump] would lose the election and, afterward, it would [be] easier to assassinate [Trump].’” Oops.
A Democrat calls out his own party: As Democrats and Leftmedia pundits grapple with Donald Trump’s sweeping election victory, one bold Democrat representative from Massachusetts is willing to point out the obvious: his party has gone too far left and lost touch with the vast majority of the American electorate. “We as Democrats are more concerned about offending people and just getting all our words right than actually having legitimate, serious debates about issues that matter,” Representative Seth Moulton said during an interview on Boston Public Radio. And that issue Moulton was referring to specifically is transgenderism and its impact on girls and women’s spaces and sports. “I’m not going to apologize for bringing up the issue,” he added. “This is the problem with Democrats: We’re more concerned about offending people than actually talking about issues, and that’s why a majority of Americans just think we’re out of touch.” He further observed why Americans aren’t voting for Democrats: “It’s because we’re not listening. We’re just shutting down debate.”

On September 24, as what would become Hurricane Helene was bearing down on the west coast of Florida, state emergency preparedness officials in the impact areas were readying their resources, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency was preparing to show up with “$750 checks” and billions in federal resources.
When the hurricane hit on September 26, nobody anticipated the swath of inland deaths and destruction it would leave behind in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee, among other states.
That tragedy was followed two weeks later by Hurricane Milton, another massive storm that swept across central Florida.
You may be aware that during recent Hurricane Milton assessment and cleanup operations in Florida, a FEMA supervisory official told crews to skip houses with Donald Trump presidential signs. In a message to those involved on the ground after Milton, that supervisor brazenly issued an order, both in group chats and messages, advising to “avoid homes advertising Trump.” In assessment progress messages, the inspectors noted, “Trump sign no entry per leadership.”
In a complaint filed with the Department of Homeland Security about the Trump directive, one of the team members noted, “If they had damage or lost power for over thirty-six hours, it was my duty to inform them of benefits to which they are entitled through FEMA.”
One of the volunteers making assessments declared: “When we got there, we were told to discriminate against people. It’s almost unbelievable to think that somebody in the federal government would think that’s okay. I volunteered to help disaster victims, not discriminate against them. It didn’t matter if people were black, white, Hispanic, for Trump, for Harris. Everyone deserves the same amount of help.”
For its part, FEMA responded: “While we believe this is an isolated incident, we have taken measures to remove the employee from their role and are investigating the matter to prevent this from happening ever again. The employee who issued this guidance had no authority and was given no direction to tell teams to avoid these homes and we are reaching out to the people who may have not been reached as a result of this incident. … We are horrified that this took place and therefore have taken extreme actions to correct this situation and have ensured that the matter was addressed at all levels. Helping people is what we do best and our workforce across the agency will continue to serve survivors for as long as it takes.”
Of course, in this era of federal deep state actors opposed to Trump, there have been now-countless “personal initiatives” to undermine anything and everything Trump-related, with “no authority” and “no direction” from above. Of course, the most insidious of these Trump attacks have gone unpunished because they were perpetrated by small corrupt cadres at the highest levels of both the FBI and CIA, with assists from some other agencies. And given the examples set by those high-level folks, including FBI Director James Comey and CIA Director John Brennan, it is understandable that those at lower levels of the bureaucracies assumed they could take action against Trump with impunity.
And that, apparently, is what FEMA supervisor Marn’i Washington may have assumed in late October when she issued her edicts about withholding services to Trump supporters — that she could do so with impunity. That is a reflection of the systemic corruption within pockets of some agencies.
With Trump now the president-elect, FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell confirmed that Marn’i Washington has been fired. “This is a clear violation of FEMA’s core values and principles to help people regardless of their political affiliation,” Criswell said. “This employee has been terminated and we have referred the matter to the Office of Special Counsel. I will continue to do everything I can to make sure this never happens again.”
The fact that FEMA fired Washington is amazing for two reasons. First, it is a full acknowledgment of this corruption. Second, it demonstrates that federal employees can actually be fired for malfeasance. But the real questions are: Was this an isolated case? (No.) And how far up the chain of command does this corrupt mindset exist? (Far.)
Rep. James Comer, chair of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, has requested that Criswell testify before Congress on November 19 to determine how wide and deep these edicts ran.
Before she gets there, she might also want to review similar edicts issued in late October in East Tennessee and North Carolina after the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene.
As we noted in early October in “Is FEMA FUBAR?” we had already received reports of FEMA supervisors warning personnel to avoid properties with Trump campaign signs in both states because those locations may pose an increased risk of personal injury. I can assure you those “Trump people” were, and remain, on the frontlines of assisting those in need.
To that end, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has asked Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti to review if similar edicts were issued in our state. “FEMA exists to serve all Americans, and these actions have eroded the people’s trust by failing to deliver desperately needed relief to all survivors,” according to Lee.“ Americans should never have the government weaponized against them.” He echoed that condemnation after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared of the targeted political retribution in his state, “The blatant weaponization of government by partisan activists in the federal bureaucracy is yet another reason why the Biden-Harris administration is in its final days.”

Even after her loss on Nov. 5, Vice President Kamala Harris’ election campaign is still hounding donors for money. Harris’ campaign has bombarded supporters with fundraising messages following her election […] The post appeared first on The Western Journal .
Things are tough in America right now. Many of us are forced to reallocate our money from one necessity to another and often, the thing that suffers first is our diets. If times are tight, you might find this article helpful.
It’s a meal plan created from recipes and strategies in my new paperback, What to Eat When You’re Broke. We released this in PDF format recently and readers loved it. We got so many requests to put it in hard copy format that we couldn’t say no! So, it’s available on Amazon now as a paperback.
The recipes in this article are all included in the book, which I’m selling just above cost. I hope you enjoy it, and please, give us a review on Amazon to help more people to see it when they’re searching for a way to feed their family during difficult times.
Flat Broke Meal Plan
This meal plan is per person per week. Multiply it by the number of people in your family. I’ve tried to make it as varied as possible, and there are a few things included that are not the cheapest on the market. They’ve been added for nutrient value.
After Federal Election Commission filings showed that the Harris-Walz campaign paid a cool million to Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions company for the town hall where Oprah endorsed Harris, Oprah denied it.
Caught on a backstreet by one of those TMZ video crews and asked if it was true that “they paid you a million dollars for the endorsement for Kamala,” Oprah replied, “Not true. I was paid nothing, ever.”
“The campaign paid for the production costs of ‘Unite for America,’ a live-streaming event that took place Sept. 19 outside Detroit, Mich.,” a spokesperson for Harpo said, trying to clear things up. “Oprah Winfrey was at no point during the campaign paid a personal fee, nor did she receive a fee from Harpo.”
Technically, that’s the truth. But only technically.
It was Winfrey’s production company that received the seven-figure check. But Harpo is owned by Winfrey. For all intents and purposes, Harpo IS Oprah.
The FEC paperwork shows that Harpo was paid for “EVENT PRODUCTION,” not for Winfrey’s endorsement. But does 94 minutes of unscripted, live television, produced on a small set, really cost a million dollars to produce? Or was Oprah’s “personal fee” just part of the overhead?
“As a legal matter,” the Federalist’s Sean Davis asked on Monday, “how are secret bought-and-paid-for endorsements even legal? If you can’t run a paid ad without a clear disclosure, how on earth can you run a paid endorsement without disclosure?”
Maybe that’s something the Trump DOJ should look into. But right here, right now, we can look into where the money went.
Github user Gaiaus uploaded the Harris campaign’s official FEC spending filing last week for all to see, and it showed a last-minute, pop-up campaign that very quickly ramped up into a spending behemoth. After spending all of $2,000 in the first half of the year, Harris-Walz spent just shy of $6 million in August (when she was anointed as the nominee), to nearly a quarter of a billion dollars in September alone.
On Friday, PJ Media’s own Robert Spencer answered the question “Where did Kamala’s billion dollars go?” and the answer was about what you’d expect: she blew it on ineffective advertisements and social media outreach. The rest she just wasted:
Harris also spent over $15 million to hire the parade of icky celebrities she trotted out to boost attendance at her rallies, and sent a cool million to Oprah Winfrey for hosting a town hall with her and appearing at her final rally. Oh, you thought Oprah was appearing out of conviction, love for our country, and thoughtful support for the candidate she thought would best lead us through the perilous coming four years? Come on, man!
Harris somehow managed to outspend Donald Trump’s campaign by six-to-one on staffer salaries. What the hell were all those people doing?
I’m reminded a bit of Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 campaign. Clinton outspent Trump by nearly two-to-one ($1.2 billion to $646 million) but the only time she displayed any frugality was when she canceled her victory fireworks show just a couple of days before the election. I guess she finally took notice of Wisconsin and put a stop on that check real fast.
Curiously, Harris-Walz spent a little more than half as much in October as they did in September. Does something about that look wrong to you, too? With most of the money being spent on ads, I would think that October would see the biggest buys, not September. Am I missing something? I don’t think so, because even though the Trump campaign raised far less money, Trump-Vance spent $88 million in October compared to just $78 million in September.
Whatever the case, it’s clear Trump got much more value for his campaign dollar than Harris did.
On August 1, 2023, Jack Smith announced four charges against former President Donald Trump as part of his investigation into the 2020 election.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Department of Justice (DOJ). Paxton’s legal action seeks to secure a preservation order that would block any potential destruction of records from Jack Smith’s investigation into former President Donald Trump.
The lawsuit highlights a pattern of record destruction by past special counsels and raises concerns about accountability in a “weaponized” justice system under the Biden-Harris regime.
Paxton initiated the lawsuit following a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request he filed, seeking access to documents and communications related to Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation.
“Past Special Counsels, including—notoriously—Robert Mueller, destroyed records at the end of their investigations to avoid accountability. It is not clear why nobody was prosecuted for doing so. This request is part of my Office’s efforts to ensure that Americans are not cheated out of accountability or information again. This pattern of weaponizing the justice system for partisan retribution must end,” Ken Paxton said.
“The State of Texas is requesting a waiver of all fees, and meets the criteria per Justice Department policy. This information request is in the public interest, as it will provide critical information for the public understanding of the Office of Special Counsel’s activities.
This request does not serve the commercial interest of the Attorney General’s office. This request is made in the State of Texas’s sovereign capacity. And this FOIA request seeks information that is important for the American people.
FOIA serves as “a means for citizens to know what their Government is up to.” And it provides “a structural necessity in a real democracy.” The Texas Attorney General’s Office frequently updates constituents on important, newsworthy information.
The Office issues press releases, and posts news on its website that is frequently reported on by the press. The information from this FOIA request will significantly contribute to the public’s understanding of the Special Counsel’s investigation, particularly when the subject of that investigation has been elected as the 47th President of the United States.”
Smith, appointed by Garland in November 2022, was tasked with investigating Trump just one day after Trump announced his 2024 presidential bid.
Jack Smith spent over $50 million of taxpayer money to hunt down Trump for non-crimes.
Since then, Smith’s investigation has led to a series of high-profile indictments against Trump.
The Special Counsel indicted Trump on 37 federal counts in Miami in June 2023 for lawfully storing presidential records at his Mar-a-Lago estate which was protected by Secret Service agents.
Trump was charged with 31 counts under the Espionage Act of willful retention of national defense information and 6 other process crimes stemming from his conversations with his lawyer.
In July 2023, Jack Smith hit Trump with 3 additional charges in the investigation into classified documents stored at Mar-a-Lago. The superseding indictment, filed in the Southern District of Florida, claims Trump was part of a scheme to delete security footage from Mar-a-Lago.
In September 2023 Trump was hit with 4 counts in Jack Smith’s January 6 case up in DC: Conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.
Jack Smith’s team of taxpayer-funded prosecutors were operating in secret. Smith’s team of lawyers was DOUBLE the size of Mueller’s (Weissmann’s) team.
In his Monday filing, Paxton specifically requested a preservation order to prevent any records from being deleted or destroyed by Smith’s team or the DOJ.
“I will not allow the corrupt weaponization of the United States government to be swept under the rug as Jack Smith and others who unjustly targeted President Trump attempt to avoid accountability,” said Attorney General Paxton.
“The American people deserve transparency, and those responsible for these unlawful witch hunts must not destroy the evidence of their own misdeeds.”
The filing explains: “Attorney General Paxton, however, fears that many releasable records—including those that he sought—will never see daylight. That is not because DOJ has any legal reason to withhold them. Rather, Attorney General Paxton has a well-founded belief as set forth herein that Defendants will simply destroy the records. That is how they and/or their predecessors have operated in the recent past. And Jack Smith’s team has conducted itself in multiple ways that suggest it cannot be blindly trusted to preserve, and eventually produce, all of its records.”
After Donald Trump’s landslide victory against Kamala Harris, even leftists and liberals are tuning out of the televisions channels they were once glued to.
According to Nielsen ratings obtained by Mediaite, both MSNBC and CNN have since their ratings tank after last week’s unforgettable presidential election.
The report states:
MSNBC saw its audience crater on Thursday and Friday, just days after the left-of-center network beat CNN in election night ratings for the first time ever.
Thursday’s total average daily viewers on Fox News came in at 2.6 million and 375,000 in the coveted 25-54 age demographic, according to Nielsen data.
Meanwhile, MSNBC brought in only 596,000 total viewers and 71,000 in the demo. CNN brought in 419,000 total viewers on Thursday and 91,000 viewers in the demo.
Meanwhile, the two channels were obliterated by the conservative leaning Fox News, which despite previously betraying its audience is clearly benefitting from Trump’s incredible victory.
Mediaite continues:
Fox News was up some 60 percent year over year for the day, while MSNBC and CNN were down 23 and 40 percent – respectively.
In prime time the news was even more bleak for CNN and MSNBC as they shed 30 percent and 54 percent of their viewers, respectively, compared to the same day last year.
MSNBC host Alex Wagner had her lowest-rated show ever in terms of total viewers, while Chris Hayes’s show brought in its worst numbers since May of 2016.
On Friday, seven MSNBC programs recorded their lowest Friday ratings for the year as the network also saw its lowest-rated Friday prime time programming of the year — outside of holiday weekends.
Post-election, Fox News averaged 4.4 million total viewers Wednesday to Friday in prime time and 701,000 viewers in the demo.
MSNBC brought in 808,000 total viewers for the same period and 90,000 demo viewers. CNN, meanwhile, saw 611,000 total average prime time viewers and 159,000 average demo viewers.
While mainstream media networks are disliked and distrusted by the majority of Americans who recognize them as the Democratic Party propaganda machines that they are, such figures suggest that even their most loyal viewers are turning off the television.
Major Nielsen ratings plunge at MSNBC since Trump won, practically every day since. Just one example – 10/30 Wednesday vs Fri 11/8 – Morning Joe 1st hour – down 39.6% Morning Joe 2d hour – down 36.9% Andrea Mitchell – down 39.7% Ari Melber – down 49.6% Joy Reid’s Reidout – down…
However, there may be glimmers of hope for the likes of CNN and MSNBC. During the last Trump presidency, both channels performed well as millions of leftists tuned in to make themselves feel better.
Over his four years in office, both channels dedicated thousands of hours to the discredited Russia hoax, giving their viewers hope that Trump may somehow be arrested and imprisoned for colluding with Vlaidmir Putin in a bid to win the 2016 presidential election.
As we enter Trump’s third and final act, it is unclear what the future holds for both MSNBC and CNN. Yet if these current trends continue, the future may be looking very bleak indeed.
