NOVEMBER 13 | LOVING THE LORD: NOT EASY IN TODAY’S WORLD

…If a man love me, he will keep my words; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him….

JOHN 14:23

The gravest question any of us face is whether we do or do not love the Lord!

Too much hinges on the answer to pass the matter off lightly, and it is a question that no one can answer for another. Not even the Bible can tell the individual man that he loves the Lord; it can only tell him how he can know whether or not he does. It can and does tell us how to test our hearts for love as a man might test ore for the presence of uranium, but we must do the testing.

If we lived in a spiritual Utopia where every wind blew toward heaven and every man was a friend of God we Christians could take everything for granted, counting on the new life within us to cause us to do the will of God without effort and more or less unconsciously. Unfortunately, we have opposing us the lusts of the flesh, the attraction of the world and the temptations of the devil. These complicate our lives and require us often to make determined moral decisions on the side of Christ and His commandments.

When with honesty and serious minds we ask ourselves, “Do I love the Lord, or no?”, there will likely be any number of personal workers standing by to quote convenient texts to prove that we do.

But our Lord told His disciples that love and obedience were organically united, that the keeping of His sayings would prove that we love Him. This is the true test of love and we will be wise to face up to it!1

November—13 | O taste and see that the Lord is good!—Ps. 34:8.

Those views of Jesus are blessed, which not only take in his loveliness, but his usefulness; which tend both to commend him to our regard, as fair and beautiful, and at the same time full and bountiful; that, like some rich and wide-spreading tree, yea, like the tree of life in the paradise of God, is at once both for shelter and fruit. My soul! look at thy Jesus thus, and thou wilt then enter into the sense of this delightful verse of scripture: “O taste and see that the Lord is good!” In this experience of Christ consists the proper knowledge and apprehension of him. An hearsay account of Jesus is but a poor account. By hearing sermons, reading the scriptures, attending ordinances, and the like, men may acquire some knowledge of him; but until the Holy Ghost form him in the heart, “the hope of glory,” we never taste and see that the Lord is good. It was this which distinguished the Church’s enjoyment of her Lord, and which enabled her to make a suitable answer to that question of the daughters of Jerusalem: “What is thy beloved more than another beloved?” For when we can say, “Of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace,” then, and not before, can we say also, as he did from whom this testimony was given, “I saw and bare record, that this is the Son of God.” My soul! see to it, that in your commendation of Jesus, you can add to the account your own personal enjoyment of him. And think what a blessedness must accompany that recommendation of the Lord, when, like the beloved apostle, you can hold forth Christ upon the same principles, and for the same cause as he did: “That” (said he) “which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled of the word of life—declare we unto you; that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” (1 John 1:1, 3.)1

Evening, November 13 | “Men ought always to pray.”—Luke 18:1 | “Men ought always to pray.”

If men ought always to pray and not to faint, much more Christian men. Jesus has sent his church into the world on the same errand upon which he himself came, and this mission includes intercession. What if I say that the church is the world’s priest? Creation is dumb, but the church is to find a mouth for it. It is the church’s high privilege to pray with acceptance. The door of grace is always open for her petitions, and they never return empty-handed. The veil was rent for her, the blood was sprinkled upon the altar for her, God constantly invites her to ask what she wills. Will she refuse the privilege which angels might envy her? Is she not the bride of Christ? May she not go in unto her King at every hour? Shall she allow the precious privilege to be unused? The church always has need for prayer. There are always some in her midst who are declining, or falling into open sin. There are lambs to be prayed for, that they may be carried in Christ’s bosom? the strong, lest they grow presumptuous; and the weak, lest they become despairing. If we kept up prayer-meetings four-and-twenty hours in the day, all the days in the year, we might never be without a special subject for supplication. Are we ever without the sick and the poor, the afflicted and the wavering? Are we ever without those who seek the conversion of relatives, the reclaiming of back-sliders, or the salvation of the depraved? Nay, with congregations constantly gathering, with ministers always preaching, with millions of sinners lying dead in trespasses and sins; in a country over which the darkness of Romanism is certainly descending; in a world full of idols, cruelties, devilries, if the church doth not pray, how shall she excuse her base neglect of the commission of her loving Lord? Let the church be constant in supplication, let every private believer cast his mite of prayer into the treasury.1

November 13.—Evening. [Or September 25.] | “Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder.”

Acts 28:1–15

AND when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita. (Or Malta.)

And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold. (Compassion and kindness are such precious things, that the Spirit of God records them in favour of the barbarians: even thus will Jesus remember a cup of cold water given to his disciples. Should not kindness be yet more abundantly found in the followers of Jesus?)

And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

He was not too proud to gather sticks, nor should the most eminent Christian think any work beneath him by which he may minister to the comfort of others. It seemed strange that there should be but one viper, and that it should fasten upon the apostle’s hand; serpent-bites will wound the most benevolent and holy hands.

And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live. (So readily do we interpret every accident into a judgment, but such a habit is cruelly unjust to good men. Such an instance as this ought to cure us of crying out “What a judgment!” whenever sudden calamities fall on men. God’s judgments are reserved for another world, and are rarely seen in this life.)

5, 6 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god. (Paul remained unmoved amid the changes of human judgment. Though to men he was a murderer one moment and a god the next, in patience he possessed his soul, unmoved in holy faith. We must not allow the opinions of men to affect our minds, or we shall be changing as the wind.)

7–9 In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously. And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him. So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

10 Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary. (The shipwreck of the vessel had not shipwrecked the cause of the gospel; on the other hand, it had given to Malta a noble opportunity of hearing the gospel. The apostle well improved his stay.)

11–14 And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux. And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days. And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli: Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome. (God has hidden ones everywhere, and there amid the excessive vice of such cities as Pompeii, Naples, Baiæ, and the like, were found saints who met Paul at the landing-place of Puteoli, near which commences the Appian Way, along which he marched towards Rome. The news of his arrival reached the brethren in Rome during the week of Paul’s halting at Puteoli, and parties at once set out to meet him. This was thoughtful love, and showed that they were not ashamed to be identified with Christ’s suffering servant.)

15 And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, (about forty Roman miles from Rome,) and The three taverns (about twenty miles): whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

Plagues and deaths around me fly,

Till he bids I cannot die:

Nor can deadly serpents kill,

Till it is my Father’s will.

O thou Gracious, Wise, and Just,

In thy hands my life I trust:

I am safe, for thou art near;

Wherefore should I yield to fear?1

November 15 – The Root of Bitterness | VCY

TODAY’S BIBLE READING CHALLENGE:
  Ezekiel 31:1-32:32
  Hebrews 12:14-29
  Psalm 113:1-114:8
  Proverbs 27:18-20

Ezekiel 31:10 — God hates pride in case you haven’t noticed. Daniel uses the same phrase (“… lifted up thyself …”) when speaking of God’s judgment against Belshazzar (Daniel 5:23).

Ezekiel 32:7 — When will these events be? Ezekiel doesn’t say, but looking at other passages we can tell. Isaiah 13:10 talks about the Day of the LORD when the moon will not give its light. Matthew 24:29 says that this immediately follows the Great Tribulation.

Hebrews 12:15 — What do we know about this root of bitterness?

  • It’s crafty – people don’t see it unless they know what they’re looking for
  • It’s costly – taking away the grace of God
  • It’s concerning – “trouble you”
  • It’s corrupting – “many be defiled”

Hebrews 12:24 — Why is Jesus better? An ignorant beast that touched the Holy Mountain of Moses was to be stoned. Now, we are invited to the city of the living God (Hebrews 12:22).

Psalm 113:3 — I need to spend more time praising the LORD!

Psalm 113:6 — We pride ourselves on how big of a position we have attained on earth. The LORD “humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!”

Psalm 114:7 — We need a return to the fear of the LORD.

Proverbs 27:18 — Are we faithful in our service to our master?

Even the Faintest Call | VCY

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shalt be delivered.Joel 2:32

Why do I not call on His name? Why do I run to this neighbor and that when God is so near and will hear my faintest call? Why do I sit down and devise schemes and invent plans! Why not at once roll my self and my burden upon the Lord? Straightforward is the best runner—why do I not run at once to the living God? In vain shall I look for deliverance anywhere else; but with God I shall find it; for here I have His royal “shall” to make it sure.

I need not ask whether I may call on Him or not, for that word whosoever is a very wide and comprehensive one. Whosoever means me, for it means anybody and everybody who calls upon God. I will therefore follow the leading of the text and at once call upon the glorious Lord who had made so large a promise.

My case is urgent, and I do not see how I am to be delivered; but this is no business of mine. He who makes the promise will find out ways and means of keeping it. It is mine to obey His commands; it is not mine to direct His counsels. I am His servant, not His solicitor. I call upon Him, and He will deliver me.

November 13 – The call of Elisha | Reformed Perspective

“Then he (Elisha) arose and went after Elijah and assisted him.” – 1 Kings 19:21

Scripture reading: 1 Kings 19:19-21

In the Lord’s calling of Elisha, we see the mighty zeal of God. What an encouragement this is when we, like Elijah, despair of our witness and work for the church and kingdom of Christ. Though Israel’s reformation could have continued through Elijah, God chose Elisha to take up the torch. Why? Undoubtedly, to impress upon Elijah, and us, that the Lord is not dependent upon any one person to carry out His sovereign purposes; and that as great as Elijah was, he was not indispensable.

Thus, as Paul says of the church in 1 Corinthians 3:6-7: I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. On how many mission fields wasn’t it the missionaries’ successors who saw the fruit of their labours? Thus, throughout all the Old Testament, there would be a succession of workers, even as today, who would testify to the powerlessness of any single person. No, there would only be One who would do what no one else was able to do and to finish God’s work. Only One without any successors. Only One who could say, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to accomplish His work” (John 4:34)And only One who, accomplishing our salvation on the cross, could cry out, It is finished! (John 19:30). May God’s zeal in Christ inspire ours!

Suggestions for prayer

Pray that the Lord would raise up servants to proclaim the finished work of Christ to the world, and that, like Elisha, we may be quick to respond to His call.

Who Will Be In Heaven? | Pathway To Victory

download(size: 24 MB )

Jesus Himself once said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me.” Yet people in today’s all-inclusive culture try to claim that all religions lead to God. Dr. Robert Jeffress shares what the Bible says about who will—and will not—be in Heaven.

Arthur W. Pink – Quotes to Bless the Heart – Part II | Bible Apologetics – A DAILY DEVOTIONAL

“But why should we not place implicit confidence in God and rely upon His word of promise? Is anything too hard for the Lord? Has His word of promise ever failed? Then let us not entertain any unbelieving suspicions of His future care of us. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but not so His promises.”1

“He foresaw my every fall, my every sin, my every backsliding; yet, nevertheless, fixed His heart upon me.”

“Deny that the Bible is, without any qualifications, the very Word of God, and you are left without any ultimate standard of measurement and without any supreme authority. Grant that the Bible is a Divine revelation and communication of God’s own mind and will to men, and you have a fixed starting point from which an advance can be made into the domain of truth.”

“All outward actions are worthless while our hearts be not right with God.”

“The first time [Christ] came to slay sin in men. The second time He will come to slay men in sin.”

“If man is a totally depraved being, can he possibly take the first step in the matter of his return to God?”

“Nothing in all the vast universe can come to pass otherwise than God has eternally purposed. Here is a foundation of faith. Here is a resting place for the intellect. Here is an anchor for the soul, both sure and steadfast. It is not blind fate, unbridled evil, man or Devil, but the Lord Almighty who is ruling the world, ruling it according to His own good pleasure and for His own eternal glory.”

“The Bible is no lazy man’s book! Much of its treasure, like the valuable minerals stored in the bowels of the earth, only yield up themselves to the diligent seeker.”

“Contentment, then, is the product of a heart resting in God. It is the soul’s enjoyment of that peace that passes all understanding. It is the outcome of my will being brought into subjection to the Divine will. It is the blessed assurance that God does all things well, and is, even now, making all things work together for my ultimate good.”

“The prevailing idea seems to be, that I come to God and ask Him for something that I want, and that I expect Him to give me that which I have asked. But this is a most dishonoring and degrading conception. The popular belief reduces God to a servant, our servant: doing our bidding, performing our pleasure, granting our desires. No, prayer is a coming to God, telling Him my need, committing my way unto the Lord, and leaving Him to deal with it as seemeth Him best.”

“Nothing is too great and nothing is too small to commit into the hands of the Lord.”

“Afflictions are light when compared with what we really deserve. They are light when compared with the sufferings of the Lord Jesus. But perhaps their real lightness is best seen by comparing them with the weight of glory which is awaiting us.”

“There is only one safeguard against error, and that is to be established in the faith; and for that, there has to be prayerful and diligent study, and a receiving with meekness the engrafted Word of God. Only then are we fortified against the attacks of those who assail us.”

“How can we who are so weak in ourselves, so inferior in power to the enemies confronting us, bear up under our trials which are so numerous, so protracted, so crushing? We could not, and therefore Divine grace has provided for us an all-sufficient Helper. Without His aid we had long since succumbed, mastered by our trials. Hope looks forward to the Glory to come; in the weary interval of waiting, the Spirit supports our poor hearts and keeps grace alive within us.”

“Christ is the Divine answer to the Devil’s overthrow of our first parents.”

“When we trustfully resign ourselves, and all our affairs into God’s hands, fully persuaded of His love and faithfulness, the sooner shall we be satisfied with His providences and realize that ‘He doeth all things well.’”

“Though poor in this world’s goods, though grieving the loss of loved ones, though suffering pain of body, though harassed by sin and Satan, though hated and persecuted by worldlings, whatever be the case and lot of the Christian, it is both his privilege and duty to rejoice in the Lord.”

“Taking up my ‘cross’ means a life voluntarily surrendered to God.”

“God cannot change for the better, for He is already perfect; and being perfect, He cannot change for the worse.”

“After grief for sin there should be joy for forgiveness.”

How many evidences do you know for the origin of the universe? | WINTERY KNIGHT

It’s very, very important to get a conversation about spiritual things started off on the right foot. My favorite place to start is with the origin of the universe. I always use the same 3 evidences, but I found an article that has even MORE. First, let me talk about the ones I like, then I’ll send you the link to the article with the bigger list. Once you get the beginning proved, the next question is: who caused it?

Here’s the article from J. Warner Wallace.

He writes this:

My career as a Cold Case Detective was built on being evidentially certain about the suspects I brought to trial. There are times when my certainty was established and confirmed by the cumulative and diverse nature of the evidence. Let me give you an example. It’s great when a witness sees the crime and identifies the suspect, but it’s even better if we have DNA evidence placing the suspect at the scene. If the behavior of the suspect (before and after the time of the crime) also betrays his involvement, and if his statements when interviewed are equally incriminating, the case is even better. Cases such as these become more and more reasonable as they grow both in depth and diversity. It’s not just that we now have four different evidences pointing to the same conclusion, it’s that these evidences are from four different categories. Eyewitness testimony, forensic DNA, behaviors and admissions all point to the same reasonable inference. When we have a cumulative, diverse case such as this, our inferences become more reasonable and harder to deny. Why did I take the time to describe this evidential approach to reasonable conclusions? Because a similar methodology can be used to determine whether everything in the universe (all space, time and matter) came from nothing. We have good reason to believe our universe had a beginning, and this inference is established by a cumulative, diverse evidential case.

Here is his list of evidences:

  1. Philosophical Evidence
  2. Theoretical Evidence
  3. Observational Evidence
  4. Thermal Evidence
  5. Quantitative Evidence
  6. Residual Evidence

Now, if you listened to our podcast with astronomer Guillermo Gonzalez, I mentioned the ones that I like, which are #3, #5 and #6. And I like these, because they are scientific, and because I have clever ways of explaining them using simple terms.

Here’s what he says:

3. Observational Evidence (from Astronomical Data)

Vesto Slipher, an American astronomer working at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona, spent nearly ten years perfecting his understanding of spectrograph readings. His observations revealed something remarkable. If a distant object was moving toward Earth, its observable spectrograph colors shifted toward the blue end of the spectrum. If a distant object was moving away from Earth, its colors shifted toward the red end of the spectrum. Slipher identified several “nebulae” and observed a “redshift” in their spectrographic colors. If these “nebulae” were moving away from our galaxy (and one another) as Slipher observed, they must have once been tightly clustered together. By 1929, Astronomer Edwin Hubble published findings of his own, verifying Slipher’s observations and demonstrating the speed at which a star or galaxy moves away from us increases with its distance from the earth. This once again confirmed the expansion of the universe.

5. Quantitative Evidence (from the Abundance of Helium)

As Astronomer Sir Fred Hoyle studied the way elements are created within stars, he was able to calculate the amount of helium created if the universe came into being from nothing. Helium is the second most abundant element in the universe (Hydrogen is the first), but in order to form helium by nuclear fusion, temperatures must be incredibly high and conditions must be exceedingly dense. These would have been the conditions if the universe came into being from nothing. Hoyle’s calculations related to the formation of helium happen to coincide with our measurements of helium in the universe today. This, of course, is consistent with the universe having a moment of beginning.

6. Residual Evidence (from the Cosmic Background Radiation)

In 1964, two American physicists and radio astronomers, Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson detected what is now referred to as “echo radiation”, winning a Nobel Prize for their discovery in 1978. Numerous additional experiments and observations have since established the existence of cosmic background radiation, including data from the Cosmic Background Explorer satellite launched in 1989, and the Planck space observatory launched in 2009. For many scientists, this discovery alone solidified their belief the universe had a beginning. If the universe leapt into existence, expanding from a state of tremendous heat, density and expansion, we should expect find this kind of cosmic background radiation.

So, I’ve made simple analogies for these, so that I can explain them to people from every background.

For #5, for example, I use the story of leaving you in a room with beads and strings and then watching you make one necklace of beads, and timing you, and then leaving you for an hour, and coming back and estimating how many necklaces you will have made, and how many beads you have left. With respect to the beginning of the universe, at the very beginning, it’s all hydrogen (beads). But there is nuclear fusion going on, and the beads are being fused into heavier elements like helium and carbon and oxygen (necklaces). Well, astronomers made predictions about HOW MUCH helium you could fuse during the very hot period, according to the standard cosmology, and the prediction was for 75% hydrogen (beads) and 24% helium (necklaces), and that’s exactly what we see today.

And for #6, I talk about baking a cake. Suppose you heated up your oven and put a ban full of cake batter in there for an hour. You notice that the room is 68 Fahrenheit (20 Celsius) when the cake went in. Then you take the cake out to cool, but you leave the oven open. An hour later, you notice that the oven is cool, but the temperature of the room has gone up to 72 Fahrenheit (22 Celsius). When you have a source of heat in a small area, then you open it up in a bigger area, the smaller area cools down, and the bigger area warms up a bit. Astronomers made a prediction that the very hot creation event would leave a small 3 degrees Kelvin “cosmic microwave background radiation” everywhere in space, and when they were finally able to measure it, they found that the predicted 3 Kelvin temperature was found exactly as predicted.

So, if you don’t know all of these evidences for a beginning, read the article, pick your favorites, and be ready to explain them.

Biden Administration Declares Trump Cabinet Picks ‘Unqualified’ | Babylon Bee

Article Image

U.S. — The party responsible for appointing a Transportation Secretary whose only relevant experience was an apparent love of for toy trains has declared Trump’s cabinet picks “unqualified.”

The Democratic Party, fresh off appointing a dude who wears dresses as a health minister, a guy who steals women’s luggage as nuclear weapons officer, and a Joker-costume-wearing lesbian who can’t answer questions as Press Secretary, felt that Trump’s choices did not have the proper credentials for their jobs.

“President-Elect Trump has beclowned himself with these appointments,” said Senator Elizabeth Warren, handing her makeup bag to Admiral Levine. “These are serious roles with real responsibilities. We need the absolute best, and — hey, has anyone seen my luggage?”

Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked if the White House had any official statement about Trump’s selections, to which Karine-Jean Pierre screamed, “I’m gay” and ran out of the room sobbing.

At publishing time, the people responsible for Afghani civilians hanging on to a cargo plane’s wheel well stated that Trump’s choice for Secretary of Defense was incompetent.

BREAKING : John Thune Elected Senate Majority Leader in Blow to MAGA Conservatives – Mitch McConnell Lackey, Trump-Hater, and War-Monger Wins Majority Leader | The Gateway Pundit

The Senate GOP has voted to select John Thune of South Dakota as Majority Leader in a blow to MAGA conservatives.

Chad Pergram of Fox News was the first to break the news.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, three candidates were up for the Majority Leader position: Thune, John Cornyn of Texas, and Rick Scott of Florida.

The final vote on the ballot was 29 votes for Thune and 24 votes for Cornyn. Since this was a secret ballot, we will never know who the members voted for.

Rick Scott of Florida, who The Gateway Pundit endorsed, was eliminated on the first ballot after receiving just 13 votes.

No winner on first ballot for Majority Leader. Going to second ballot. Scott drops off. Race between Thune/Cornyn

This news is a blow to conservatives who hoped to see a clear break from Trump-hating Mitch McConnell. Thune is not only a longtime neocon and McConnell ally, he has anti-Trump credentials that almost make Cornyn look reasonable.

Here is a video published by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) showing how deep Thune’s disdain for Trump runs.

Senator John Thune has consistently shown that he does not support President Trump’s agenda, and his track record reflects that. The Senate deserves a majority leader who is committed to serving the will of the people, not the Uniparty. I believe that leader is @SenRickScottpic.twitter.com/dpEYzQSrin

— Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (@RepLuna) November 10, 2024

Thune also demanded Trump drop out the 2016 Presidential race following the release of the Access Hollywood tape one month before the election so Mike Pence could take his place. Our country would have been completely screwed under either Pence or Crooked Hillary Clinton.

Donald Trump should withdraw and Mike Pence should be our nominee effective immediately.

IN TODAY’S DIGEST

EXECUTIVE NEWS SUMMARY

Douglas Andrews, Thomas Gallatin, & Jordan Candler

Economy

  • Inflation is stubborn: The October consumer price index report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that inflation ticked up last month, rising to 2.6% annually. That’s an increase from September’s 2.4%. The so-called “core” inflation, the measurement of prices of food and energy, remained at 3.3% on the year. On a monthly basis, housing costs rose 0.4% since last month, and food costs increased 0.2%. The price of used vehicles jumped 2.7%, while new vehicles stayed flat. The cost of hotel stays also rose 0.4%, which analysts attribute to the impact of recent hurricanes. The inflationary growth rate target of 2.0% has yet to be met, but the Federal Reserve felt good enough about the economy’s direction that it cut interest rates by a quarter point last week. Donald Trump’s promise to raise tariffs may have a negative impact on inflation, but there’s little doubt that the cumulative ~21% price hike instituted by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will soon slow down.

Security

  • Trump taps former DNI Ratcliffe to head CIA: Donald Trump is wasting no time in putting his cabinet together, and his national security apparatus is beginning to take shape. Trump announced yesterday that his pick to head the Central Intelligence Agency is former Texas Congressman and Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe. “From exposing fake Russian collusion to be a Clinton campaign operation to catching the FBI’s abuse of Civil Liberties at the FISA Court,” said Trump in a statement, “John Ratcliffe has always been a warrior for Truth and Honesty with the American Public.” Trump then delivered this throat punch to John Brennan, James Clapper, Mikey Hayden, Leon Panetta, and the rest of the clowns and dirtbags who’ve been polluting our nation’s “intelligence” services: “When 51 intelligence officials were lying about Hunter Biden’s laptop, there was one, John Ratcliffe, telling the truth to the American People.” When confirmed by the Senate, Ratcliffe will become the first man ever to serve as both DNI and CIA director. Our sense was that Ratcliffe would’ve made a great attorney general, but clearly, Trump thinks he’s most needed for the task of cleaning up our intelligence services.

Government & Politics

  • Smith to resign rather than getting canned by Trump: The Democrats’ ill-fated lawfare campaign against Donald Trump was already on life support. Today, its purveyors are reaching for the plug. As The New York Times morosely reports, “Jack Smith, the special counsel who pursued two federal prosecutions of Donald J. Trump, plans to finish his work and resign along with other members of his team before Mr. Trump takes office in January, people familiar with his plans said. Mr. Smith’s goal, they said, is to not leave any significant part of his work for others to complete and to get ahead of the president-elect’s promise to fire him within ‘two seconds’ of being sworn in.” Translation: Smith is going to slink away like the dirty and unconstitutionally appointed rat that he is, but he’s going to drop a big stink bomb on his way out the door. Fox News reports that the Republican-controlled House Judiciary Committee is mindful of a “purge” of records and “is demanding they produce to Congress all documents related to the probes before the end of the month.” Indeed, it’d be a shame if Smith somehow escaped congressional scrutiny.
  • The Left’s fair-weather filibuster fans: What a difference a shellacking makes. It seems like only yesterday when Seattle-based Democrat Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal was pushing to “abolish” what she called the “Jim Crow filibuster.” That timeless bulwark for Senate minority rights has been under near-constant assault from leftists because it frustrates their ability to run roughshod over the adults. The filibuster, of course, requires legislation to attract 60 votes before debate is ended and bills are passed. But come January, that awful filibuster will be the only thing standing between the minority Democrats and the Republican agenda after they flipped the Senate while retaining power in the House. “Am I championing getting rid of the filibuster now when the Senate has the trifecta? No,” said Jayapal. But lest you think Jayapal or any other Democrat has had an awakening about the importance of minority rights in the upper chamber, think again. In the following breath, she said, “But had we had the trifecta [meaning: had Democrats swept the presidency, Senate, and House], I would have been because we have to show that government can deliver.” Oh well. Perhaps we should just be grateful that she didn’t call it the “Jim Eagle filibuster.”
  • MSNBC hemorrhaging viewers: The Leftmedia outlet MSNBC has seen its viewership numbers crater following the election, with its primetime audience down a whopping 54% since Election Day. Throughout October, MSNBC averaged 1.1 million viewers. However, beginning Wednesday of last week, the news cable station saw its total average audience dwindle to a total of 736,000. Digging deeper into the primetime programs, MSNBC’s litany of leftist hosts saw a plummeting drop off in viewers, with hosts such as Joy Reid, Alex Wagner, Lawrence O’Donnell, Andrea Mitchell, Chris Hayes, and Nicolle Wallace all seeing massive audience drops, especially with the coveted 25-54 demographic. None of this should come as a shock, given how biased and blatantly wrong MSNBC’s coverage of the two campaigns was. Who would want to consume news from an outlet that lies to their face? Meanwhile, Fox News’s numbers are doing great, with the primetime viewership average rising 58% over last year at this time.
  • Biden-Harris State Dept. holds post-election therapy session: Is there any more glorious sight in Washington than the crestfallen face of a leftist who just lost an election? We can’t think of any because Democrats live for political power. And so, when they’ve had their hopes dashed as resoundingly as they were eight days ago, we’re not surprised to see them seeking therapy. “The Biden-Harris State Department organized an in-house therapy session for employees early Friday following Donald Trump’s election victory,” reports The Washington Free Beacon. “‘Managing stress during change,’ read an internal State Department email sent across the agency that encouraged employees to attend a one-hour session in which they could discuss their feelings about Tuesday’s election results.” On the one hand, we’re happy to see these folks getting the help they need. But on the other hand, it causes us to wonder what kind of snowflakes the Democrats are hiring into our diplomatic corps. Let’s hope that when Donald Trump’s secretary of state, Marco Rubio, comes to town, he brings with him some folks with a bit of steel in their spines.
  • DOJ kept employees in the dark on whistleblower protections: According to a newly released report from the Government Accountability Office, the Justice Department kept from informing FBI employees of new whistleblower protections for government personnel that Congress passed back in 2016. The GAO found that the FBI failed to update employee regulations following the passage of the FBI Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act. Furthermore, the report noted that FBI employees are still not being notified of their rights to file with or appeal to the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board. The reason behind this failure, the GOA found, is that the DOJ has effectively misinterpreted components of the law. The report called on the DOJ to review its FBI employee whistleblower retaliation allegations review process. It recommended the DOJ update its mandatory employee training to ensure that employees know they can seek help from the DOJ’s Office of the Inspector General.

Culture

  • Biden’s HHS keeps 294 DEI staffers: In a clear effort to make it harder for Donald Trump to root out the leftist cancer of wokeness within the federal government, the Biden administration has retained 294 Health and Human Services employees whose job is to push DEI initiatives. Furthermore, according to OpenTheBooks, 182 of these federal employees are being paid six-figure salaries. But government spending on DEI goes far beyond employing diversity officers. OpenTheBooks found that the DEI agenda has “permeated” HHS: “When it comes to DEI and health equity spending, payroll expenses are a drop in the bucket. Promoting these topics can be lucrative for federal employees looking to expand their agency’s budget and for private scientists hoping to win grants.” DEI is named 829 times in the agency’s 2025 budget. OpenTheBooks head John Hart observes that HHS is being used to push Marxism. “Academia is delivering a boutique and racially charged permission structure that helps bureaucrats feel morally innocent about imposing top-down, command and control policies that can disproportionately harm low-income Americans,” he states. Getting rid of this problem will be tough but necessary.

FEATURED ANALYSIS

Trump’s Hegseth Pick Is Unconventional

Nate Jackson

Donald Trump said in his three-hour “weave” with Joe Rogan that one of the things he knows now that he didn’t know when entering the Oval Office the first time in 2017 is what people to hire for what posts. It was all new to him; he relied on advisors to help fill out positions, and he made some mistakes. It may turn out to be his most important lesson.

Our Douglas Andrews thoroughly covered Trump’s first cabinet picks yesterday, so I won’t unnecessarily retread any of that ground other than to say his early choices are encouraging.

One of the most exciting announcements in I don’t remember when is that Trump has tapped Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE, an acronym that echoes Musk’s favorite cryptocurrency, Dogecoin). They’ll be tasked with actually doing something about Trump’s favorite bugaboo — waste, fraud, and abuse. There’s a whole lot more to it, and we’ll have further analysis tomorrow.

Which brings me to a few more significant Trump picks. John Ratcliffe, Trump’s former director of national intelligence, will lead the CIA. New York businessman Steven Witkoff will be special envoy to the Middle East. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee will serve as U.S. ambassador to Israel.

But the real splash came last night when Trump picked 44-year-old Pete Hegseth to serve as defense secretary and lead the nation’s largest federal department. The Pentagon’s budget last year was $850 billion.

“Who the f**k is this guy?” read Politico’s classy headline.

Well, he’s a decorated Army veteran with deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Guantanamo Bay. He has degrees from Princeton and Harvard. He’s still an officer in the Individual Ready Reserve, and he’s the former executive director of Vets for Freedom and Concerned Veterans for America. Oh, and he’s a Fox News host, which is, naturally, how most media stories present him.

Yes, Hegseth is certainly unconventional and an outsider. He doesn’t have the high rank or private defense industry credentials of previous secretaries of defense, and he’s taking predictable heat for being what some consider less than qualified. Then again, one of Trump’s core arguments is that the way things have been done needs to change. That includes picking guys like General James Mattis to head the Pentagon and General John Kelly to serve as White House chief of staff.

Hegseth will almost certainly be an upgrade over wokevax-mandating, and AWOL Lloyd Austin.

Hegseth has made no bones about his view that the injection of left-wing ideology in the form of critical race theory and its manifestation in diversity, equity, and inclusion mandates is the primary problem with America’s war-fighting apparatus today. He’s right.

“The dumbest phrase on planet earth in the military is our diversity is our strength,” he declared earlier this month. He didn’t stop there.

“First of all, you’ve got to fire the chairman of the Joint Chiefs,” Hegseth said, referring to General Charles Brown. “Any general, admiral, whatever, that was involved in any of the DEI woke s**t has gotta go,” he continued. “Either you’re in for war-fighting, and that’s it — that’s the only litmus test we care about. You gotta get DEI and CRT out of military academies so you’re not training young officers to be baptized in this type of thinking.” There needs to be “an ethos change,” he explained. “There’s a reason people don’t want to serve — because they don’t trust that their senior leaders are going to have their best interests in mind in combat.”

Bingo.

In fact, speaking of firing generals, The Wall Street Journal reports, “The Trump transition team is considering a draft executive order that establishes a ‘warrior board’ of retired senior military personnel with the power to review three- and four-star officers and to recommend removals of any deemed unfit for leadership.”

When you sign up to serve in the Armed Forces, you write a blank check made payable to “The People of the United States of America” for an amount up to and including your life. Patriots aren’t going to do that just so left-wingers who hate the military can feel good about some dude in uniform wearing long hair and earrings and using the wrong pronouns. Mental illness disqualifies one from service because it undermines readiness. Left-wing social experimentation on the military has caused a recruitment and morale crisis.

If confirmed by the Republican Senate, Hegseth won’t have time to focus only on wokeness. He’ll immediately be confronted with the foreign policy disasters caused by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, from wars in Ukraine and Israel to belligerence from Iran and China — the latter of which poses the most significant national security threat to the U.S. since the Soviet Union.

Projecting strength, though, is a key part of Trump’s strategy. “With Pete at the helm, America’s enemies are on notice — Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down,” Trump said in a statement. “Nobody fights harder for the Troops, and Pete will be a courageous and patriotic champion of our ‘Peace through Strength’ policy.”

Refocusing the military on war-fighting and ditching the woke, er, crap is core to the strategy of projecting strength. Our global adversaries laugh at us for caring more about military abortions and guys getting their nails done than winning or, better yet, preventing wars. Time will tell if Hegseth is the right guy for the job or if he is in over his head. I, for one, certainly don’t fault Trump for thinking outside the Beltway with his pick.

November 12th, 2024 | The Mark Levin Show

On Tuesday’s Mark Levin Show, the media have always wanted conservative talk radio to fail. They said Rush Limbaugh would fail year after year and he didn’t. Millions of people get their information from talk radio, but now Axios says that ‘Republican radio’ isn’t influential anymore.  They don’t understand that talk radio is the #1 format for conservative voices and listeners. Ignore the left-wing sites that will try and diminish talk radio. When you look at cable news networks, CNN and MSNBC, their ratings are cratering, and CNN is about to fire their highest-paid on-air talent. Also, we keep hearing the media mantra that the cost of mass deportations will be enormous. What’s the cost of not doing mass deportation – the cost to schools, healthcare, and law enforcement? What’s the cost of chain migration? What’s the cost to a country? Later, Arthur Fergenson calls in to discuss the implications of state versus federal authority. Fergenson explains the potential paths for President-Elect Donald Trump’s legal relief, including the rare use of common law writs by the Supreme Court.  Afterward, Trump’s criminal lawyer Todd Blanche explains the latest happenings in Trump’s NY criminal case. He discusses the recent developments and the eventual dismissal of the case. Finally, Kevin Roberts calls in to discuss his new book, Dawn’s Early Light: Taking Back Washington to Save America.

Segment 1
Hello America.   Mark Levin here. Our number 877-381-3811.  877-381-3811. Yeah, I’ve been doing this a little bit, a little while Radio Even before I had my own radio show, I worked very closely with Rush Limbaugh, called me a flea. Levin Since about 1998, I would provide him with constitutional information. And we talk every day, every night. One of my closest best friends. And he would tell me that the media always wanted him to fail and the media always wanted conservative talk radio to fail. So there were endless articles. About how conservative talk radio was dying. Now, the truth is, conservative talk radio is the reason why and am Ban still exists and in part an FM band that is terrestrial radio altogether. The truth is there are certain program managers or general managers or regional managers or even owners who don’t know what the hell they’re doing. The vast majority do. And they kill their stations. But that’s that’s the exception. That’s beside the point. We’re very pleased to be with our affiliates here. But we’re on every platform that’s imaginable. But I bring this up to you for a reason, as I explain in a minute. Here’s May 23, 2011, from The Business Insider. Rush Limbaugh’s ratings have fallen 30% in the last six months. Salon, July 29, 2013. Rush Limbaugh is Finished. Politico, May 24, 2016. Is Rush Limbaugh in trouble? This is what he and I would discuss. You are. You are web. Rush Limbaugh Suffers Ratings Decline on Talk Radio. June 19, 2015. And it goes on and on and on. We would get these from one after another. Huffington Post 2012. A Challenge to Rush Prove Your ratings. Daily Beast 2011. Rush Limbaugh and right wing talk radio flameout. Political Politicus USA 2015 Rush Limbaugh in Freefall as a Show Gets Demoted. Adweek. Ratings drop for Limbaugh. Media Matters 2014. Rush Limbaugh. California Ratings Debacle. New York Daily News 2015. Rush Limbaugh Might Get Smaller Deal Amid Struggling Ratings. John, I’m saying. Salon. A marxist operation. Rush Limbaugh is cooked in the stunning fall of the right’s ratings. And it goes on. 2021 Can conservative talk radio survive without Rush? Now, first of all, they said Rush couldn’t survive. Goes on and on and on. Arkansas Business 2014 Talk Radio on hold against Low ratings. New York Daily News 2015. Rush Limbaugh’s ratings appear to be sagging. He was always under attack. Talk radio has always been under attack, and it’s under attack again today. And they try and cause one platform or one industry to go after another. But it’s not going to work. There are literally thousands of podcasters. All you need basically is a box and you’re podcasting. There are, of course, podcasters who are massive podcasters who are a blip. But there are also radio shows that are massive and radio shows that are a blip. This is one of the biggest in the world. This program, this platform is on terrestrial Radio, AM and FM, as well as podcasting and so forth and so on. And we will continue to be on all of our platforms without limitation. Without exception. This is a syndicated program. And that’s what we will do in our audience expects that you expect it no matter how you listen to it. And I will not allow anybody to get into the way of that. Through demands of any kind whatsoever. It’s not going to happen. Period. But I bring this up for a reason. In October of this year, Pew Research. Put out a very thorough and extensive survey of listeners. Have every single platform available Network TV, cable TV, radio, podcasting. Streaming newspapers, magazines, websites. And they wrote about a third of Americans name NPR, which of course, is government subsidized and on a thousand stations. 30.34% is at least a minor source of election news, while 27% it’s almost 30% of all the people in the United States who gather information from any source. 27% use conservative talk radio, such as Sean HANNITY and Mark Levin. They share who say talk radio. As at least a minor source of election news as identical to 2020. When the question named Rush Limbaugh as an example, before his death in 2021, Rush Limbaugh’s ratings, his audience share was always massive, despite all the attacks. And conservative talk radio today remains massive. Massive. Just because they don’t listen to it at Politico, just because they don’t listen to it at Axios, including their media expert. There is out of touch. As they were before the election. They have no idea how you get information. You get information from TV. Obviously, you get information from podcasts, many of you particularly younger people, but millions and millions and millions of you get your communication and your information from radio AM and from radio or a show like mine that simulcasts. On other formats. I don’t know why this is so hard to understand. It isn’t this constant war against conservative talk radio over the decades. It’s intended to undermine it, to usurp it, because the left has nothing. Nothing similar to it. Zero. They have podcasters. They’re big podcasters. Joe Rogan isn’t really a conservative. He endorsed Trump, but he also endorsed Bernie Sanders. But he’s a great podcaster. And a lot of people listen to him. But that’s not my point. My point is that this format. Talk radio. Is the number one format. For conservative voices and listeners anywhere on the planet. It’s bigger than any cable channel. It’s bigger than any podcast. It’s bigger than any collection of podcasters. And look, I’m a podcaster, too, and I love it. And we’re going to do more of it. But I’m just speaking to you about the facts. The facts? These are the facts. So over at Axios, which is a very left wing website which doesn’t know me, which doesn’t know this format, which doesn’t know anything they’re going through, and they’re telling you who the new influencers are. Robert F Kennedy Jr. Number one, they have who’s in number one? Number two, the organic media gurus. And we know what that means. Number three, independent streamers. Independent streamers have barely any audience. Just so you know. But it’s okay. I’m for all the competition in the world. I’m for taking down massive corporate media. Which gives up to the likes of Joy Reid. So I’m all for it. Free speech techies like Elon Musk. But you’ve got to talk about the platforms and the formats. Conservative entertainers, all good. The New York Post and Fox News. I happen to love both of them. Who’s out. Fringe websites. Breitbart. Breitbart’s night out. Breitbart’s. Massive and they throw them in with Infowars. Breitbart tonight, Infowars. Newsmax. Newsmax is doing very, very well. Here you go. Number two, Rick, Republican Radio. There is no Republican radio. What does that mean? It’s called conservative talk radio. So the person who wrote this is an imbecile. Republican radio, a slew of conservative radio host such as Dana Loesch, Erick Erickson and Mark Levin, who’ve tried to fill the void left by the late Rush Limbaugh, don’t have the same access and viral prowess as the New Age MAGA podcaster. So I just read you what they were doing to rush before his death, demeaning him, trying to minimize him, tell you that his days are over as a radio host, that he didn’t have an audience, which was a lie. I can’t speak for the other two, but I have never tried to replace Rush Limbaugh. My hero, my friend. An iconic, historic figure. I do my own thing. And I’ve been doing my own thing. How? How long now? Rich 24 years, I guess. About 24 years. So why would I try to replace Rush Limbaugh? But the point is conservative talk radio. Has this big of an audience, which is about 30% of the American people who are seeking information and news and so forth and commentary. As it did four years ago. Four years ago. In 2020. So the idea that we’re out, I can tell you right now we’ve had more requests. We did during the Trump campaign for their surrogates for the president and others to come on this show than I can even count. And same with the Senate candidates and congressional candidates. I couldn’t take them all. I just couldn’t. We tried very hard in the last two weeks to bring on as many as we could, including the president, including the vice president elect. Because here’s the little dirty secret. In virtually every single vehicle in this country. There’s a radio. It doesn’t mean all of you use a radio, but there it is. In some of the biggest podcasters in the country. They all want to be on radio. Why? Because it’s a massive built in audience. That exists in every car, on every radio. That doesn’t mean that massive build an audience is necessarily going to listen to a particular radio host or not. That’s not my point. My point is to ignore that, like Axios does and some of these other lefties who wrote all these things about Rush and so forth is to show a level of ignorance that’s just unbelievable. President Trump as a candidate was all over conservative talk radio. He understood it. President Trump, as a private citizen, is a New Yorker. And he would listen to this show and he’d listen to Rush show and he’d listen to HANNITY Show. Who would listen to these shows? Matter of fact, on ABC, that was called Murderers Row. It was Rush. HANNITY. Levin in that order. Murderer’s row. Which obviously Russia’s passed away and Sean’s with a different network than I am. It just it is what it is. But I want to point this out because the effort is to diminish you, the radio listener. That’s what it is. That’s. What it is. And when you look again, as I explain, I have to explain this because I want you folks to understand you’re part of a massive movement and you always happen. There’s nothing like conservative talk radio. Nothing. Zero. It is huge. It is massive in the aggregate. We reach hundreds of millions of people every single day. Every single day. And on a weekly basis, this show reaches almost 15 million people. Could be more. We just don’t know. Plus we’re on all these other platforms, so it’s impossible to really know. But what I do know, it’s very interesting, Mr. Producer. I think I’ve told you maybe not. I don’t think I’ve told the audience when I’m in the line as an example. To get a ticket for an airplane or to get something to eat or something like that. And I open my mouth and people hear this voice, which is obviously a distinct voice. They go? Are you Mark Levin? I say, yes, I am. Is that good or is that bad? Your friend or foe? 98% of the time. Friend. So ignore these left wing sites that are going to try and diminish this format, like Axios, like all the others have done in the past. This guy Avalon, who ran as a Democrat for Congress and lost in New York, he was one of the ones, the no label party. But then he found a label. He became a Democrat. He was a Republican. He worked for Giuliani. The guy’s been all over the place. He used to write these pieces talking about Rush can’t survive. Rush’s numbers are down and on and on and on. I just want to assure you we’re strong as ever, period. I’ll be right back.

Segment 2
Obviously, there’s a lot to talk about this evening. One other thing we only have a minute left in this segment. I’m working on another book. I’m not going to get into it. I think you’re going to love it by the time I’m done. It’s not about President Trump per say or that sort of thing per se, but it sort of envelops everything. And this is the other thing. Axios and the others don’t understand this audience at particular you. My audience is the smartest audience of all audiences, period. Left or right. You’re interested in these books, you read these books. We’ve had number one bestsellers. The last. I don’t even know. Eight books that I’ve written, number one on The New York Times best seller list. And you know, The New York Times hates my guts. We’ve had seminal books, Liberty and Tyranny, American Marxism and so forth. There’s a whole genre of thinking, the motivation of values, of love of country that cannot be sort of relayed or discussed at length over a period of years, one after another. But on this format right here, I’ll be right back.

Segment 3
Have you been hearing the mantra the cost of mass deportation will be enormous? That’s the new media mantra picked up by the Democrat Party. Talking points. The cost of mass deportation. I have a different question. What’s the cost of not doing mass deportation? To our schools. To our health care system. To law enforcement. What’s the cost? Year after year after year? To our communities? In our neighborhoods? In our states? And on top of that, since I’m the only one mentioning what means in about two weeks, everybody will be mentioning it. It’s this chain migration again. Chain migration? What’s the cost of that? It’s enormous. So the illegal aliens have children. They become American citizens. Then we get this while the parents need to be citizens too, so we don’t split, you know, the families up. So what does that mean? That means that nobody’s deported. But in any event. Even under the best of circumstances, you have chain migration. And chain migration is not immediate family, it’s extended family. It could be third cousins. It could be people you never heard of before. And so one person could bring in, on average, 1923 people. So I want you to multiply 21 million. 21 million illegal aliens. Times ten people. What’s the cost of that? To a country, including its own culture and identity. What’s the cost of that? Well, the country dies, obviously. It’s going to it unravels. It’s just too much for any country to handle any society. That’s why countries that have been so foolish to do it, and not purposely, by the way, just because they haven’t been properly watching their borders and so forth, they’ve collapsed. So what’s the cost of doing Nothing. It is the destruction of the United States of America. I thought I would point that out. Now, we were talking about this business broadcasting. Got a couple articles here that might interest you. Couple of articles that might interest you. Fox No Trump bump. MSNBC is hemorrhaging viewers since Election Day sheds more than half a primetime audience. Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. Over at MBS, LSD. It’s a stale product no one will want to listen to going forward. Ford says. Curtis Houck. MSNBC’s reliably liberal that would be left wing audience has tuned out the anti-Trump network since Election Day with a staggering 54% drop in primetime viewership. MSNBC averaged 1.1 million viewers during the month of October, but plummeted to an average audience of 736,000 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of last week. Following Trump’s victory, MSNBC’s remarkable 31% drop comes as Fox News Channel’s viewership grew by 61% over the same period. MSNBC also shed 26% of its year to date totals. But things got even worse in primetime during the primetime hours of 8 to 11 p.m. Eastern Time, MSNBC averaged 1.8 million total viewers in October. But viewership of Alex Wagner tonight, the hall, is that all in with Chris Hayes? What the hell is that? In a last word with Lawrence O’Donnell. He’s a mental patient, have averaged only 808,000 total viewers since election night. So the 54% drop represents more than half of the network’s primetime viewers. And MSNBC’s also down 51% from its year to date totals, while Fox is up 58% in primetime compared to 2024 averages. MSNBC is also down 16% among total day viewers and 57% during primetime. Among the critical demographic, adult age, 25 to 54. Alex Wagner tonight. Andrea mitchell reports. Chris JANSING reports. DEADLINE White House When Nicolle Wallace There’s a loser. Jose Diaz-Balart reports. Joy Reid I’m a bigot. I mean, they read the readout, they call it and the last word with Lawrence O’Donnell all had their smallest audiences of the year this past Friday. Now that’s saying something since they’re small to begin with. It’s also the smallest audience for Alex Wagner tonight. What’s with this? Alex Wagner, Do you know? That is. Most of it is. I know she’s one of the host, but I don’t know that since the show launched in 2022, when MSNBC’s Rachel MADDOW rolled back her on air presence only once per week. I need to do that. But I need to do that once per week. They talked me into doing Saturday too. But there we are all in we. Chris Hayes had its lowest rated episode since May ten, 2016, on Thursday. A longtime TV news executive who asked to remain anonymous, noted MSNBC’s audience appeared to love to hate Trump during his first administration. That doesn’t seem to be the case any longer. Quote, As its poor post election night ratings show, MSNBC should not expect a Trump bump this time around. Even liberals are rejecting its condescending tone and the divisive rhetoric of its new standard bearer. Joy Reid. Divisive. She’s a bigot through and through. MSNBC viewer Sharon Waxman, who is the founder and CEO of Hollywood trade publication The Wrap, wrote that the media got it wrong and she needs a break from the noise. If you’re like me, she says. You haven’t tuned in on the news since last Tuesday when Donald Trump won the election. Personally, I can’t bear to listen to another minute of wisdom from Joy Read my friend Lawrence O’Donnell, or the admirable Rachel MADDOW. I can’t do it, she wrote. I’m not saying I’ll never watch or listen again, but am I alone here? My entire body recoils from listening to more claptrap, from the same claptrap at her apparatus. That’s one of the reasons we do things differently here. MSNBC personalities have not taken Harris’s loss particularly well as hosts and pundits have repeatedly tried to assign blame for Trump’s landslide victory. Stephanie RUHLE, she’s a complete reprobate, said Americans were gambling with the country’s future by choosing Trump as their next president. Shut up, you idiot! Claire McCaskill. The unsightly former senator from Missouri cried on air after watching Harris’s concession speech. Joy Reid essentially blamed white women, white women, white men, a movie, Blazing Saddles, where two white women. For Harris is North Carolina loss and said black women have resigned from the Save America coalition. And Al Sharpton claimed that misogyny and racism two things he no doubt knows about among voters, may have cost Harris the election. MSNBC host Jonathan Capehart said he was still grappling with how someone was elected. They ran a campaign that was openly hostile. Openly race has seen a vote back, misogynist, transphobic. He didn’t do that. But in between. Capehart zero he did well MSNBC on screen graphic said finding hope in a dark time. Jen Psaki even said the Democrat party over relied on never-Trump Republicans, you know, Disney, Lizzy and her ilk. By the way, I wish Chris Christie today, Mr. Producer. Is he at the all you can eat buffet somewhere? The rhetoric came after MSNBC spent years promoting never-Trump Republicans, targeting hard core Democrats, largely dismissing non-liberal. MSNBC. Yeah, they have like Michael Steele on there. That’s a real ratings getter. MSNBC recently tweeted a raising ratings victory, noting the liberal network tops CNN. Oh, wow. On a presidential election night for the first time in the network’s history, however, NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck feels it was simply an anomaly. Well, MSNBC thought they may have struck gold with the election night ratings. They should have realized by now Americans only tuned in so they could see the meltdowns. I have friends that do that. A buddy, Danny, part of the family says, you know, I watched them just to see how they react. During CNN’s Tumblrs and past years, they were falling behind reruns of Golden Girls and Peppa Pig. They’re running up against me on Saturdays. A repeat of Bill Maher. You know how well that’s doing. It’s a disaster. They run everything they can think of against me. The only thing that takes a little chunk out of me is Sunday Night Football. But even there on Sunday night, we had a two share. We had like 2 million viewers, give or take. But I like to win the night. I didn’t win the night because it was a big Monday Night football. So everybody’s salivating. See that? See that we got live in? Oh, no you didn’t baby and kickin and I’m cake and ask that somber excuses blaming everyone from working class women to Hispanic men to conservative media, soon to be serving as only temporary bombs to the scorching results. Chris Hayes and Alex Wagner. Does she get paid every time her name is mentioned? Have a brand to commit to. The only change the left will have. Even go further left. I talked about this even without having this information the other night. I said to you. The media are the greatest poison in this country. They just are the worst of the worst. The Hitler, the fascism. It all started with them. The impeachment of Trump, it all started with them. And it’s not ending. They’re the worst of the worst. I guarantee the view ratings are way down. Who wants to watch these five giants slobbering over each other? Rachel MADDOW. Viewership took a dive when Special counsel Robert Mueller declared there was no collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia. Despite the father she spent her whole damn show on at every single night. You know, and I think I’m just going to do one show a week. That’s one too many. That’s one too many. When we come back. What’s coming over on over there at CNN, Mr. Producer? Wow. Looks like there’s a lot of layoffs coming. I said these corporations need to control these platforms and bring professional journalism back again with professional journalists. Let’s hope that they’re listening. I suspect they’re listening to one year and then the other is probably clogged. I’m just guessing. We’ll be right back.

Segment 4
Now we have the constipated news network that’s always been hanging by its fingernails. I’ve never really understood why it exists. I understand why it was created in the first place to be a news network, but it’s certainly not anymore. Our friend Bryan at the right scoop looks like another leftist network is about to get hit in a bad way after Trump’s election. And this time it’s CNN. You just heard about MSNBC. Earlier today, we told you that MSNBC’s ratings have cratered at the Comcast is considering selling the network. Now we learn that CNN’s new CEO is about to unleash sweeping layoffs to try and save the network’s flailing reputation. Here’s more from the Daily Mail. CNN is planning to wield the axe on some of its high paid staff after dismal election ratings that capped off a disastrous period for the cable news network. According to an explosive report from the pack, network executives will unleash sweeping layoffs in a bid to save the network’s flailing reputation. It comes after the departure of stalwart Chris Wallace. He’s no stalwart. He’s a want to be and has been after 50 years. And amid reports, senior stars like Wolf BLITZER and Jake TAPPER both been denied raises. Wolf BLITZER. Isn’t it time to be ready to be swept out of there anyway? Mr. Producer. And Jake TAPPER. Well, Hamas has never had a better friend. There’s no mention of who may be on the chopping block. The highest paid stars include Anderson Cooper Rakes in 20 million a year. Whoa, whoa, whoa. 20 million a year for Anderson Cooper. What am I, chopped liver? Mr. Producer? Erin BURNETT. 6 million. The $6 million Lady Lee and rising star Kaitlan Collins gets three millions. She’s one angry young lady. Actually quite repulsive. In the next few months, I’m told CNN will implement another round of layoffs that will impact hundreds of employees across the organization, says reporter Dylan Byers, who wrote Friday referencing CNN’s recent 100 person layoff seen over the summer. Didn’t they just bring back Brian Stelter? They could save a lot of money right there. Eats all the doughnuts in the green room, Mr. Peterson. I understand he has a fetish. When he’s done, he rubs them on his body. But that’s a whole nother story. The fresh round of firings, the insider said, will be more geared toward the production side of things. As a result, reporters and correspondents will be required to cover their slack. Describing how on air workers will be asked to assume more of the responsibilities once handled by teams of producers and production assistants. You know, it’s funny. Almost every host in America on TV. They don’t write their own monologues or they’re heavily edited. Nobody writes anything for me. Tell them. Mr.. But does anybody write anything for me? Never. My TV production guys don’t say the same thing. When I do my Saturday Sunday show, I get up at six in the morning. And I put together my arguments and so forth. Sometimes. Despite hours of working on it, I can’t think of the right thing to say. So what do I do? In the last 5 minutes before I the camera goes on. I have an in my head and I started discussing bias. Redundant assignments will be next and various divisions will be reduced or even eliminated. Some of the on air talent are also likely to be affected. He went on to reveal sources who spoke to the reporter who worked at CNN for three years before founding Puck. Added how the looming layoffs are part of an overarching plan, one that puts a premium on the station’s digital platforms. He’s an amazing conservative. Talk radio is going to last longer than most of the digital platforms. The man behind it, they said, is none other than new CEO Mark Thompson, the former New York Times boss brought in to overhaul the network under its Warner Brothers Discovery parent. This is amazing because I did this discussion over the weekend on my Fox show and here last week I said, until Warner Brothers gets a hold of CNN, I said, until Disney gets a hold of ABC, until Comcast gets a hold of NBC, MSNBC, until Paramount gets all the CBS, this crap that they keep spewing to the American people, which we’re sick of, which we don’t want anything to do with anymore. If they don’t do anything about it, they’re not going to get ratings and they may not even care about it. But apparently some of them do. Look, I have to be honest with you. I used to watch network nighttime news before I was on radio. It was it was liberal, but it wasn’t. Not. It wasn’t crazy. Crazy ass, you know, like Joy Reid and Harry. I’ll call. The View is just a poisonous. Poisoned a show that’s gotten completely out of control. The old BBC boss filled the position left by then languishing leader Chris Licht this past August, and since then, ratings have fallen more than 20%. I can tell you my ratings are up. My FOX ratings are through the roof. Which is why nobody ever talks about it, but nobody ever reports it. So what areas? But we don’t have to do it. We just do our thing. And I’m grateful to you. Our very big fan. Very big family. God bless each and every one of you. You know what? We got two powerful hours left. I’ll be right back.
