There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true. —Soren Kierkegaard. "…truth is true even if nobody believes it, and falsehood is false even if everybody believes it. That is why truth does not yield to opinion, fashion, numbers, office, or sincerity–it is simply true and that is the end of it" – Os Guinness, Time for Truth, pg.39. “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” – Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me…unto the uttermost part of the earth.
ACTS 1:8
The popular notion that the first obligation of the Christian Church is to spread the gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth is false!
Her first obligation is to be spiritually worthy to spread the gospel.
Our Lord said “Go ye” but He also said “Tarry ye,” and the tarrying had to come before the going. Had the disciples gone forth as missionaries before the day of Pentecost it would have been an overwhelming spiritual disaster, for they could have done no more than make converts after their own likeness, and this would have altered for the worse the whole history of the Western world and had consequences throughout the ages to come.
Theoretically the seed, being the Word of God, should produce the same kind of fruit regardless of the spiritual condition of those who scatter it; but it does not work that way! The identical message preached to the heathen by men of differing degrees of godliness will produce different kinds of converts and result in a quality of Christianity varying according to the purity and power of those who preach it.
Christianity will always reproduce after its kind. A worldly minded, unspiritual church, when she crosses the ocean to give her witness to peoples of other tongues and cultures, is sure to bring forth on other shores a Christianity much like her own!1
The Lord Jesus Christ acted in what he did as a great public representative person, and his dying upon the cross was the virtual dying of all his people. Then all his saints rendered unto justice what was due, and made an expiation to divine vengeance for all their sins. The apostle of the Gentiles delighted to think that as one of Christ’s chosen people, he died upon the cross in Christ. He did more than believe this doctrinally, he accepted it confidently, resting his hope upon it. He believed that by virtue of Christ’s death, he had satisfied divine justice, and found reconciliation with God. Beloved, what a blessed thing it is when the soul can, as it were, stretch itself upon the cross of Christ, and feel, “I am dead; the law has slain me, and I am therefore free from its power, because in my Surety I have borne the curse, and in the person of my Substitute the whole that the law could do, by way of condemnation, has been executed upon me, for I am crucified with Christ.”
But Paul meant even more than this. He not only believed in Christ’s death, and trusted in it, but he actually felt its power in himself in causing the crucifixion of his old corrupt nature. When he saw the pleasures of sin, he said, “I cannot enjoy these: I am dead to them.” Such is the experience of every true Christian. Having received Christ, he is to this world as one who is utterly dead. Yet, while conscious of death to the world, he can, at the same time, exclaim with the apostle, “Nevertheless I live.” He is fully alive unto God. The Christian’s life is a matchless riddle. No worldling can comprehend it; even the believer himself cannot understand it. Dead, yet alive! crucified with Christ, and yet at the same time risen with Christ in newness of life! Union with the suffering, bleeding Saviour, and death to the world and sin, are soul-cheering things. O for more enjoyment of them!1
FOR the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
5–7 Wherefore when he (that is, Jesus) Cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
8, 9 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once.
11–14 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
15–17 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. (The Holy Ghost bears witness to the perfection of our Lord’s sacrifice, for he declares that the believer’s sins will be remembered no more.)
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin (and no need of any).
19–22 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23–25 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26, 27 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
If we reject the atonement of Jesus now, there is no other sacrifice, and we must of necessity perish.
28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. (3:8)
In Psalm 90:4 Moses declared, “For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it passes by, or as a watch in the night.” Peter’s paraphrase from that psalm encouraged his readers to not let this one fact escape their notice—that God’s perspective on time is much different from humanity’s (cf. Ps. 102:12, 24–27). The amount of earthly time that passes is of no consequence from God’s timeless perspective. A moment is no different from an eon, and eons pass like moments to the eternal God.
What may seem like a long time to believers, like a thousand years, is actually short, like one day, in God’s sight. In context, Peter is contending that, while Christ’s return may seem far off to human beings, it is imminent from God’s perspective. Finite people must not confine an infinite God to their time schedule. The Lord Jesus Christ will return at the exact moment determined by God in eternity past. Those who foolishly demand that God operate according to their time frame ignore that He is the “High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity” (Isa. 57:15, nkjv). Similarly, those who argue that Christ will not return because He has not yet returned demonstrate the height of folly.
Beyond the general sense of a thousand years meaning a long time as opposed to a day meaning a short time, there is also here the specific indication that one thousand years actually lies between the first phase of the day of the Lord at the end of the time of tribulation (Rev. 6:17) and the last phase at the end of the millennial kingdom. At that terminus, the Lord will destroy the universe and create the new heavens and new earth (Rev. 20:1–21:1).1
8 Peter’s second argument against the false teachers’ scoffing at the “delay” of the Lord’s coming stems from Psalm 90:4: “For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in night.” They overlooked God’s time perspective. The admonition “Do not forget” is addressed to believers and uses the same word (lanthanō) that is used in v. 5 of the false teachers’ deliberate forgetfulness. Christians must be careful lest the propaganda of the scoffers distort their thinking.2
The power of God’s Word seen in time and space (v. 8)
The supposed delay in the fulfilment of God’s word and purposes has perplexed his people through the ages (see Hab. 2:3). Though his return is in the future, wait for it, for it will certainly come and he will not delay.
Peter considers the power of God’s word in time in two ways.
Intensity of time
To God, a day is like a thousand years (compare with Ps. 90:4). This reveals the seriousness of sin. If this time span is taken literally, it means that, if we sin for one minute, it appears as eight and a half months to God. Consider, then, the implications for all liars, muggers, thieves, cheats, rapists and murderers who think that their crimes will never be discovered. The Day of Judgement will be an awful revelation to them of all the stupidity of their mindset and ways.
Brevity of time
Peter, though, also says that to God, a thousand years are like a day. This illustrates the eternity of God.
Human beings consider their lives to be so important, but in reality they are just small creatures in the context of infinity and in the eyes of Almighty God. Again, if taken literally, this time span means that one hour equals forty-one and a half years; if any live to be eighty years old, their lives last just under two hours in the eyes of God.
So none should criticize the apparent delay in the Second Coming; it is just two days in God’s sight since Jesus was crucified. This thought should humble us all.
Whether the time spans are to be taken literally or not, the main point is clear: God’s view of time is different from ours. He longs for people to repent, but if they do not, a just and righteous judgement will come upon them.3
3:8 / We can readily appreciate that the false teachers’ denial of the veracity of the promised return of Christ could expect to gain a certain amount of credence among church members, for it was true enough that some time had gone by since the resurrection of Jesus, a number of Christians had died, and there was still no sign that the Parousia was about to take place. But Peter seeks to encourage his readers by drawing attention to a fundamental distinction between divine and human viewpoints. People’s outlook is limited by time. Not so God’s perspective. Prompted by the wording of Psalm 90:4, Peter reminds believers that with the Lord a day is like a thousand years. But there is an interesting difference in the application of those words. The Psalmist is contrasting the insignificance of time, the brevity of human life, with the eternity of God. Peter uses the ot words to highlight the impatience of human expectations, compared with the infinite and purposeful patience of God. Peter then repeats the saying, but reverses the terms (a thousand years are like a day), in order to underline the fact that in the purposes of God, a delay of even a millennium is, from his standpoint, like no more than the passage of a single day. Therefore believers should not be disturbed, if nothing seems to be happening in fulfillment of divine promises. God’s word is his bond. The timing of its being carried out must be left to him.4
3:8do not forget. This is the one imperative in this section, and 3:8–9 constitutes the central teaching. Judgment is still coming, but God is waiting so that as many as possible might be saved.
a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The actual comparison of a thousand years being like a day (the second half of the phrase) comes from Psalm 90:4. Here, like there, it emphasizes that human years last but a moment to God. But Peter has added the corollary, which is that a day is like a thousand years (the first half of the phrase). This may be an allusion to Psalm 84:10 (even though the comparison there is one day to a thousand days) and possibly introduces a more positive notion into timelessness with God. If judgment has taken a long time from a human point of view, so will the bliss of eternal life when Christ appears. In either case the point is that the human perspective on time is not the determining perspective.5

I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man.Hosea 11:9
The Lord thus makes known His sparing mercies. It may be that the reader is now under heavy displeasure, and everything threatens his speedy doom. Let the text hold him up from despair. The Lord now invites you to consider your ways and confess your sins. If He had been man, He would long ago have cut you off. If He were now to act after the manner of men, it would be a word and a blow and then there would be an end of you: but it is not so, for “as high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are his ways above your ways.”
You rightly judge that He is angry, but He keepeth not His anger forever: if you turn from sin to Jesus, God will turn from wrath. Because God is God, and not man, there is still forgiveness for you, even though you may be steeped up to your throat in iniquity. You have a God to deal with and not a hard man, or even a merely just man. No human being could have patience with you. You would have wearied out an angel, as you have wearied your sorrowing father; but God is longsuffering. Come and try Him at once. Confess, believe, and turn from your evil way, and you shall be saved.
You tour the zoo with your daughter and peer into the glass with the gorilla. You stare at the gorilla; he stares back. Are your lives all that different? He lives one outdoor-time to the next, one feeding to the next — what is a jungle? You live one entertainment to the next, one bite of sin to the next — what is true happiness? It’s as though you live outside of your joy’s natural habitat.
Yet you are a man and not an ape; you can consider your cage, the prison of your own choices. But when you stop to think about life, you sink — is this really it? Perhaps life was brighter when you were younger. Perhaps you and the future-you were once best friends, but now you talk with less and less pleasure. He doesn’t know what you’re searching for either, and you both are running out of guesses.
Are you happy? Are you satisfied? No? Then why continue to search in vain?
Why?
This is not my question but God’s:
Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? (Isaiah 55:2)
God translates your sighs: You are spending money for what is not bread, laboring for what does not satisfy. You chew on gravel; you reap the wind. So much energy, so much time, so much dedication to what isn’t working. You are making bad purchases, eating the undigestible. The God of heaven and earth asks you: Why?
Why do you insist on digging the desert for water? Why enter into the cave for light? Why the mindless living, the endless scrolling, the watching until your eyes hurt — have these ever flooded your soul with happiness? What are you getting from this life you’ve chosen for yourself?
Your decisions leave behind dry lips, a thirst preparing you for God’s invitation:
Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Isaiah 55:1)
Come, be satisfied. Come, be made happy. Come, God summons you. Simply come.
Wanted
The God of heaven hears your life of little whimpers and responds, Stop filling your mouth with sand; come to the waters. Stop intoxicating your heart with the world; come gladden it with my wine. Why labor for what leaves you hungrier? Will you not have real bread and water, wine and milk for free? Joy, life, substance, purpose — do these not interest you?
“Why will men not be happy?” we can almost hear one angel ask another. Why does the branch run from the tree, the egg from the nest, the fish from the water? You can answer from experience: you did not want this happiness if it is only found in God. Read the terms carefully:
Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live. . . . Seek the Lord while he may be found. (Isaiah 55:2–3, 6)
God can be your Uber driver and deliver the meal, but if it requires eating with him, well, you will see what you have in the back of the fridge. Pride speaks, Better king over your own unhappiness than a happy servant of your Creator. You will not “enter into the Master’s joy” because you cannot abide that word — “Master.” You will find another way back to Eden. You leave no cheap pleasure untried, and yet, a heaven stands open before you and you will not enter because the entrance is as low as a bow and as heavy as a cross.
In other words, We are sinners. God’s offer is not simply to the unsatisfied; it’s to the unrighteous.
Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:6–7)
We do not just need better pleasures; we need abundant pardon. Justice, not just your heart, needs satisfaction. The gospel addresses not merely your discontent in happiness apart from God, but your disobedience in seeking happiness apart from God. The Lord Jesus does not just extend forever ecstasies; he stays final executions. We are creatures not just wanting but wanted.
Genius
What does your past (or present) life of fornication, lying, gossip, anger, or drunkenness have to do with your search for happiness? Everything. Alone, you have no right to this blessedness. Justice disallows sinners from the inheritance of the righteous. Should you who have sown hell reap heaven? Should God be mocked? How can God make you happy? His mercy, not his wrath, begs for explanation in the next verses.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8–9)
Your thoughts of grace and mercy inch upon the forest floor; God’s thoughts of grace dwell far above the heads of the seraphim. His gospel ways of pity and pardon hang above us from crossbeams of rugged wood upon a hill. In other words, the gospel is not man’s genius but God’s. We had no clue how justice and mercy could kiss. Man couldn’t fathom a way for his own forgiveness; he couldn’t dream how to be adopted into God’s family. The happiness in God we never sought was given to us through a plan we couldn’t have imagined.
Joy
God’s plan features God’s Son. He would send his only Son to take on human flesh, live the perfect life you didn’t, die your death, and rise from your grave. He suffered the wrath you deserved so you could have the heaven Christ deserved.
God welcomed back a banished people through covenant, foretelling, “I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David” (Isaiah 55:3). And amid the promise, he turns to another and says,
Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know, and a nation that did not know you shall run to you, because of the Lord your God, and of the Holy One of Israel, for he has glorified you. (Isaiah 55:5)
Hundreds of years later, one man rises to his feet to reissue God’s invitation to the thirsty:
On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” (John 7:37–38)
Jesus invites all who will to come to him. He is the Lamb who was slain for the sins of the world. He is the man who, when lifted up by his Father, draws sinners to himself.
Whether you accept Christ’s happy terms of surrender, the promised bliss for God’s people will arrive. His word will not return to him empty (Isaiah 55:11). The consummation of this everlasting covenant will spill over creation. Mountains and hills shall sing for his saints; the forest and the trees applaud us. The curse of thorn and thistle shall be overturned, displaced by the fertile green of blessing (Isaiah 55:12). And the happiness of his people in a new heaven and a new earth will “make a name for the Lord” as an “everlasting sign that shall not be cut off” (Isaiah 55:13).
Do you thirst? Come to the waters. He promises to forgive you, satisfy you, adopt you as his own treasured possession. Leave behind the pornography, the living for your own name, your unsatisfying affair with the world, and let the Lord usher you into fullness of pleasures forevermore in his presence. Your joy, to his glory, forever.
Much of this world has forgotten what Christmas is actually all about. To watch many popular TV shows, you’d think that the true meaning of Christmas is found in family, in friends, and in being kind to one another. Of course, those are all wonderful things. But they have nothing to do with the TRUE meaning of Christmas. #CaseyDiaz #TheShotCaller #TransformedLife #Christmas #CoralRidgeMinistries #
When angels were sent with commands from God, people were required to believe and obey these heavenly beings. In this message, R.C. Sproul explores various encounters with angels in Scripture, reflecting on their role as messengers in the unfolding of redemptive history.

In about 178 AD, a pagan named Celsus wrote a scathing denouncement of Christianity, calling believers of Jesus Christ “the most uneducated and vulgar persons.” For a high-minded Greco-Roman scholar, nothing was more unthinkable than a faith that welcomed the lowest of society.
However, as William Barclay wrote, “Christianity made people who were things into real men and women, more, into sons and daughters of God … It told men that, even if they did not matter to other men, they still mattered intensely to God … Christianity was, and still is, the most uplifting thing in the whole universe.”
There is nothing in creation as glorious as the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which we remember here at Christmas. Consider what was proclaimed at the Savior’s birth. An angel declared that Jesus would save people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). Mary exclaimed that God’s mercy had come on those who fear Him. Zechariah praised God for redeeming His people. Angels sang to the shepherds immediately following the Messiah’s birth.
As we mark the celebration Christmas brings, we should consider why the Gospel is so full of joy, hope, peace, love, and grace — as was so powerfully described at Jesus’ first coming. People don’t always view Christianity as it ought to be. Many individuals often think of true Christianity just like any other religion — as a list of rules, outdated or oppressive, or demanding and burdensome. This is tragic.
The Gospel is not a message of salvation by merit, or rule-keeping, or class. On the contrary, the Gospel is good news because it reveals God’s greatest gift given in His Son. It is the message of salvation freely given by God to His people from every tongue, tribe, people, and nation (Romans 6:23).
We do not always consider, however, the implications of this heavenly gift. When God sent Jesus into this world, He gave us a bountiful number of gifts because the Son is infinitely glorious. This Christmas, we are focusing on four of those gifts, that are ours in Christ through faith (1 Corinthians 1:30). In the last post, we saw Christians receive the gift of God’s wisdom.
The second and third gifts Paul describes in this passage are righteousness and holiness (or sanctification).
We start with the gift of righteousness: what is it? This question is one of the most important a person could ever ask. There are three truths about this righteousness God has given every believer in Christ.
The righteousness Paul has in mind is the forgiveness of sins. This theme of forgiveness is woven throughout the New Testament (Luke 1:77, Mark 1:4, Matthew 26:28, Acts 5:31, Acts 10:43, Romans 4:7). When God bestows the gift of righteousness, He erases our sins. Our sins are removed from us as far as the east is from the west, and God remembers them no more.
Consider this monumental gift of forgiveness. God forgives us for our sins in ignorance and for sins we don’t even know we’ve committed. Then add all the litany of sins we know about. How vast is God’s forgiveness! No wonder angels declared great joy to the shepherds! No wonder Mary and Zechariah praised the Lord unceasingly!
Amazingly, God’s gift of righteousness does not stop at forgiveness, though. Forgiveness erases the evil, sin, and disobedience. However, humanity needs something more, because we could never achieve a perfect righteousness before the Lord on our own. God, then, gives us the gift of the imputation of Christ’s righteousness. Not only does God pay off the debt of our sin, but He deposits Christ’s righteousness into our account through faith.
The idea of imputation is found throughout Scripture. Abraham did nothing to become righteous (Genesis 15:6). He simply believed in the Lord’s promise, and God credited him with righteousness. Paul wrote that this righteousness is not something within us (Philippians 3:9). This righteousness belongs to another but is freely given. It is the very righteousness Jesus Christ achieved.
This righteousness is perfect, flawless, eternal, unchanging for believers. We cannot taint, soil, ruin, discredit, disturb, or tarnish it in any way. What an indescribable gift!
Christ’s gift is also a legal declaration in Heaven that we are righteous in God’s sight. It is not an experience, nor does it happen in the realm of something we see, feel, or do. It is not a process, but a once-for-all statement about believers, that we are free from all guilt from our now-forgiven sins and that we have the positive righteousness of Jesus Christ covering us like an impenetrable shield in the judgment. What a gift!
Paul adds that Jesus has become for us sanctification — holiness — as well as righteousness.
In 2006, the Barna group conducted a study to analyze how professing Christians think of holiness. The results showed that most people truly had no clue about holiness. So, what does it mean to be holy? We can look at this answer in two ways.
Holiness is first positional. Christians are set apart as God’s chosen people. One striking example of this idea is found in the book of Exodus, where the word holy occurs nine times in the first 25 chapters. In the last 15 chapters, though, the word holy occurs 50 times. That means that 85% of the uses of the word holy occur in the final 37% of the book. Besides being a statistician’s dream, these numbers are telling us that this portion of the book deals with things specifically consecrated to God for His use. The priests, tabernacle, and utensils were holy and set apart for special use to serve God in worship.
This is holiness, that Christians are marked as belonging to God for special use to serve Him in worship. Holiness begins positionally when we come to faith in Christ. Although we are unworthy in the world, God says, “I am going to set you apart for a special purpose in service to Me.” What an amazing gift that God would take us out of the mire of our sins and that He would make us His own special people. We were the lowest of the low and the wickedest of the wicked, but God, in great grace and mercy, set us apart to belong to Him despite all our sin. Incredible!
Sanctification is also progressive, where we learn to manifest the reality of holiness in each of our daily lives. Paul wrote that Christians are all in process of being transformed into the glory of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18). Day by day, we continue to reflect His glory in our lives, and that work happens by the power of the Spirit.
It is important to ultimately remember that all believers are in the process of reflecting the Lord’s glory. No Christian has finished their transformation this side of heaven. Holiness manifests itself in our lives increasingly and progressively as we grow in faith. We learn to be like Christ, and we must allow space for everyone to grow and learn without crushing each other for weaknesses.
The gifts of righteousness and holiness are indescribable and infinitely glorious. What makes these bestowments even better is that God always gives them together. God doesn’t grant justification without sanctification, nor sanctification without justification. Additionally, these precious gifts have not been hidden from Christians. Rather, God makes the reception of these gifts plain through His work of changing us to conform to the glory of Christ.
What a Christmas gift!

Mirror Bacteria Research Poses Significant Risks, Dozens of Scientists Warn Synthetic biologists make artificial cells, but one particular kind isn’t worth the risk. we recently joined a number of other scientists in calling for a certain line of research to not be pursued: work that could result in the creation of “mirror bacteria.”9 These are bacteria made of all components that natural cells possess, but with every biopolymer being of opposite stereochemistry. We are passionate defenders of allowing scientists to conduct their research with as few limits on intellectual curiosity as possible, and calling for a ban is not something that we do often or lightly. However, every rule has exceptions, and this is one of them. Unless compelling evidence emerges showing that mirror bacteria do not pose unacceptable risks, we believe research to develop mirror life should not continue.
Teacher union exodus reaches nearly double-digit percentage since 2018 In 2018, Education Minnesota was financially supported by 95,389 educators. Today, that number is down to 86,676 — a nine percent decline in six years. The union’s most recent federal LM-2 report, filed with the U.S. Department of Labor at the end of November, confirms its membership hasn’t rebounded since the teacher exodus back in 2018 … when the U.S. Supreme Court freed educators and all other public employees from financially supporting a union as a condition of employment. Given the union’s partisan political advocacy and apparent divergence from its intended purpose, calls to amend the union’s charter have been proposed.
Top Israeli defense official says AI a ‘game changer’ for future warfare “AI isn’t just another innovation, it is a complete game-changer,” Zamir assessed in a speech at the defense tech summit at Tel Aviv University. “The future battlefield will allow swarms of mixed combat units, men and unmanned systems fighting together or fully autonomous units operating as one, capable of making their own decisions,” he continued. While envisioning a future of military integration between AI technologies and humans, Zamir argued that AI is likely to dominate various aspects of warfare within the next decade.
Israeli Leader: “Israel must establish itself forever in Judea and Samaria” Yisrael Gantz said in a speech to American officials: “In an unstable Middle East: The era of retreats is over, Israel must establish itself forever in Judea and Samaria” For the past six years, Yisrael Ganz has been the head of the Binyamin Regional Council, governing 47 Israeli settlements and 82,000 residents in Samaria. Six months ago, he was elected to lead the Yesha Council, the umbrella organization of all local authorities in Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley.
Trump says Middle East peace ‘can take different forms’ than a Palestinian state “I support whatever solution we can do to get peace. There are other ideas other than two-state, but I support whatever is necessary to get not just peace, [but] a lasting peace. It can’t go on where every five years you end up in tragedy. There are other alternatives,” he says.
Israeli Air Force declares total air superiority over Syria The near-total elimination of Syrian air defenses has enabled the IAF to operate freely over Syrian airspace, including directly above Damascus. After years of navigating Syria’s dense air defense network during its efforts to counter Iranian weapons shipments to Hezbollah, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) has announced it has achieved complete dominance in the region’s skies.
Trump considering direct attacks against Iranian nuclear sites The policy of previous administrations has been the use of diplomacy and economic sanctions to force the IRGC to reduce its nuclear intentions. According to the report, Iran has enough enriched uranium to build four nuclear weapons within a few days. The Trump administration is considering several options, the first being a direct buildup of American forces in the Middle East. The USA would send additional troops, planes, and ships to the region, and possibly even begin to execute its own attacks against Iranian nuclear sites.

Russia Launches Massive Attack On Ukrainian “Critical Fuel & Energy Infrastructure” Russia launched a massive drone and missile strike against Ukraine on Friday in retaliation for Kyiv’s recent use of the US-supplied Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) against a Russian military base. Russia launched 93 missiles and nearly 200 drones targeting the country’s energy infrastructure. This was one of the largest bombardments against Ukraine’s energy sector since the invasion began almost three years ago.
The Historic Failure Of The Biden Administration Whether American presidents are successes or failures is measured by their major foreign and domestic actions. That has been the historical standard by which they are weighed and which defines their legacy. By any metric from American history and by any objective standard used to measure his predecessors in the White House, the Biden administration has been a catastrophic failure for the American people. It is clear that now he is more dementia victim than he is president.
FBI, DHS Say “No Evidence” New Jersey Drones Pose National Security Threat Sens. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Andy Kim (D-N.J.), Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) sent a joint letter to DHS, the FBI, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to brief them on drone activity over New Jersey and New York. “The potential safety and security risks posed by these drones in civilian areas is especially pertinent considering recent drone incursions at sensitive military sites in and outside of the continental United States over the past year,” they warned. Separately, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) told reporters that the drones should be “shot down,

Measuring Farm Animals’ Burps And Farts Will Not Help The scientists who are being paid, most likely handsomely, to measure methane emissions from animals may not like to hear this, but measuring burps and farts will not save the planet. Methane, a small trace gas, has a short atmospheric life and plays a relatively minor role in long-term warming, despite its high warming potential per molecule.

With its submissiveness to the US and contempt for its president-elect, the bloc’s set itself up for a perfect storm of punishment
By Tarik Cyril Amar, a historian from Germany working at Koç University, Istanbul, on Russia, Ukraine, and Eastern Europe, the history of World War II, the cultural Cold War, and the politics of memory
For a man his age, incoming US president Donald Trump has a knack for cultivating a bad-boy image. Refreshingly direct to the point of rude honesty, or dishonesty, as the case may be, he has no time for polite circumlocution. His threats are harsh, his demands unvarnished, including toward Washington’s so-called allies in Europe, which really are, at best, clients, and, more realistically, just vassals. In that spirit of candid, no-frills domination, Trump already has a long record of threatening NATO, which he sees – plausibly – as a scam in which European members fleece the US to free-ride on its insane (but that’s a different story…) military spending.
Even less noticed is the fact that the new old US president – and thus capo dei capi of the West – is not much kindlier disposed toward the EU. And yet there it is: Trump’s frank, open, and long-standing dislike for that strange bureaucratic behemoth that is about as democratic as the former Soviet Union, less efficient than the Habsburg Empire, and so full of its global “norm-setting” mission that even American “indispensability” looks oddly old-fashioned by comparison.
As early as the beginning of 2017, when the great American bruiser gate-crashed the White House for the first time, The Economist warned its European readers to “be afraid” of Trump, a man harboring “indifference” and “contempt” for the EU. Really? How unheard of! The raunchy-tycoon-turned-peremptory-president, the British establishment Pravda of neoliberalism and Russophobia explained, would seek to shatter the EU by playing “bilateralism.” That, of course, is Euro-babble for respecting individual countries’ governments by taking their sovereignty more seriously than power-grabbing delusions of grandeur in Brussels. And – oh, horror! – he might even try to talk Russia. (Spoiler: back then he did not – big mistake.)
That, however, was 2017. Now, things have moved on. Even before Trump won his second presidential election by crushing his Democratic opponents, The Economist admitted that “’Trump-proving’ Europe” is a notion doomed to fail, which means EU leaders may well become “geopolitical roadkill.” How so, you may wonder?
Well, first of all there is Russia. Regarding Moscow, Trump seems ready to talk, and in a substantial manner we have not seen since the end of the Cold War: He has publicly signaled that he does not believe in trying to coerce Moscow by further escalation; his freshly appointed advisers Mike Waltz and Keith Kellogg, though known for ambiguous signals in the past, will fall into line, as they should as public servants. And if not, they’ll be fired, Trump-style, fast and without remorse.
To say the least, Trump no longer feels as restrained by Washington’s deep-state, deep-freeze Cold War re-enactors as during his first term. Sure, it’s the US: there is always the possibility someone might try to murder him, again. But if he stays among the living, which is likely, then it’s payback time: Talking to Russia now is one delicious way in which he will dish out well-deserved retribution for both the media-lawfare circus of Russia Rage (aka ‘Russiagate’) in which his opponents weaponized slander and disinformation against him. And, more importantly, Russia has been winning the war in Ukraine, not only against Kiev but also, in effect, against the West. In sum, Trump has less reason to be afraid of his own backstabbers at home, and Washington has more reason to be much more careful about Russia.
Moscow, meanwhile, has made it clear repeatedly that any new agreements would have to be mutually beneficial. The time of Gorbachevian naivete will never return. Yet, at the same time, Russia does seem open to – serious – talks: The Russian leadership does not merely carefully watch Trump, as you would expect. It also sends back calibrated pings that signal cautious appreciation of his overtures, as recently over his criticism of firing Western missiles at Russia.
Hence, nightmare number one for the EU: Trump is serious about ending US support for the failed project of inflicting a geopolitical demotion on Russia via a proxy war in Ukraine. That will leave not only the regime of Ukraine’s past-use-by-date leader Vladimir Zelensky high and dry but remaining fanatics in the EU as well. In the best-case scenario, the US will leave the European vassals with the cost of the postwar, whatever shape that may take. Trump has already said as much. In the worst-case scenario, EU elites could try going it alone. That is, worst-case for them, in every (un)imaginable way: economically, politically, and yes, militarily, too.
And behind Trump’s willingness to make good on his election promise to end the American cluster-fiasco in and over Ukraine, lurks the possibility of a much larger turn toward – wait for it! – diplomacy in the US-Russia relationship. Perhaps it is early days to mention that other long-forgotten D-word – and it would also take two to tango, of course – but a phase of détente cannot be excluded. If it were to take place, America’s European vassals would come to regret burning their bridges with Moscow to please Washington.
Then, nightmare number two, there is the economy. The US-EU relationship is the single largest trade connection in the world, worth about $11 trillion per year. That, you may think, constitutes a lot of common interest and thus reasons for treating each other if not gently then, at least, cautiously. Nope, that’s not how this works, because the relationship is lopsided, and Trump is furious about it. For him, the EU’s trade surplus with the US is yet another way in which shifty Europeans have been milking America. His weapon of choice to retaliate and rectify the situation are, of course, tariffs, the higher the better. Even before his re-election, Goldman Sachs warned that his rule could cost the EU as a whole a full percent of GDP. And yes, that’s a lot, especially for a continent already largely economically depressed, demographically declining, and with badly squeezed public finances.
What can EU leaders, those sadly submissive vassals about to be abused even worse than usual by their hegemon, do now? Frankly, not much. It’s already too late: They have made themselves dependent as never before on whoever happens to win the strange event Americans call “elections” and gets to mess with the world from the White House. And that is not at all Trump’s fault, by the way. (No, and not “the Russians!” either…).
Take, for instance, the EU’s wannabe despot Ursula von der Leyen. Building her own power grab – like Stalin, as it happens – on a mix of executive apparat overreach, crony networking, and ideological bigotry, she has made one serious mistake that may cost her dearly: She has cozied up so shamelessly to the outgoing Biden administration that, serious rumor has it, Trump cannot stand her. So, alternatives are in demand: Maybe he likes Italy’s Giorgia Meloni better? Or originally the Netherlands, now NATO’s Mark Rutte, who is constantly praised for his alleged “Trump-handling” skills?
But here is the problem with that, frankly, silly approach: Trump is not an idiot. Attempts to “handle” him are insultingly obvious and, if he tolerates them temporarily, then it’s only to handle his would-be handlers back. And then the irony is, of course, that the only EU leaders Trump respects, such as Viktor Orban of Hungary, are outcasts among their own: Good luck recruiting them now to make up for how much he disrespects all the others. Maybe they’ll even help, a little, Ursula, Olaf, and Emmanuel. But it’ll cost you, because they will – rightly – set their own conditions and gain great leverage.
What about Danegeld perhaps? Danegeld, you must know, was what the hapless inhabitants of the British Isles paid the seaborne Viking marauders in the Dark Ages. The system was simple: pay up or be plundered and slaughtered. You think that sounds a little primitive for today’s sophisticated Europeans? Never underestimate how low they will stoop. Ursula von der Leyen has already suggested that one way to mollify Trump might be to just buy even more perversely expensive LNG from the US. Christine Lagarde, head of the European Central Bank, has gone even further, pleading for a whole ‘Buy American’ program, including – surprise, surprise! – arms to assuage Trump’s ire.
Desperate? You bet. Humiliating? Obviously. Yet what’s worse, it’s not going to work. Here’s why: Even if Trump condescends to accepting such tributes from his European subjects, he will never lose sight of the one thing that really interests him (apart from his own money, power, and fame): American advantage. Whatever the Europeans will offer and however low they will kowtow, in the end, any deal will be good only for one side, the US. That’s ironic, because Russia, for one, and possibly China as well can expect the minimum of respect that makes mutual benefit at least possible. That’s because they have stood up to American bullying. For the Europeans, though, it’s a Catch 22 now. One way or the other, they will pay even more dearly than before for their historic failure after the Cold War: When they should obviously have emancipated themselves from the US, they sold out worse than ever. And without need. To paraphrase a past master of politics: It’s worse than a crime, it’s self-abuse.
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson hosts Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in a groundbreaking episode that dives deep into the partisan transformations of American politics. RFK Jr. shares unprecedented insights into his discussions with Donald Trump, the rise of unity coalitions in U.S. politics, and the critical issues shaping our future: children’s health, censorship, and the end of the warfare state.
U.S. — Liberals are putting extra effort into their secular holiday plans this year, taking the time to stop and wish people “Happy Holidays” one last time before Trump makes it an act punishable by death.
“Happy Holidays,” a tearful Sarah Stone said, holding her children tight. “I love you and I — I just want to tell you Happy Holidays before it’s too late. Before Trump kills us all.”
Though Trump has been silent on the matter, liberals are already preparing for the inevitable day the phrase “Happy Holidays” is replaced with the dark, Christian Nationalist greeting “Merry Christmas.” Many experts believe this is everyone’s last chance to say the more politically correct “Happy Holidays” before the hammer drops and they are all condemned to death.
“I’m glad I met you before Trump banned the very words hanging on my heart,” Jake Winters, a stern big-city stockbroker with a heart of gold told the small-town woman he met only three days ago. “Happy Holidays, Julia! Happy Holidays forever!”
According to liberal sources, Trump will likely roll out a legion of stormtroopers to shoot on sight any citizen seen not acknowledging Christ as the reason for Christmas. “I tried to warn you all,” wept liberal columnist David French. “But enough of you didn’t read my column in the New York Times. Now look what you’ve done.”
Liberals are being urged to inoffensively greet neighbors and hug their loved ones after obtaining consent while they still can.

VALHALLA, NY — In what the media hailed as the most prestigious award announcement of the season, Vice President Kamala Harris was named “Person of the Year” by Wine Enthusiast magazine.
The annual honor, given to a person to recognize outstanding achievement in wine consumption, was voted unanimously to be awarded to Harris after the awe-inspiring work she did throughout 2024 to promote and exemplify the enjoyment of wine.
“She blew every other candidate out of the water,” said Jacqueline Strum, the magazine’s editor and publisher. “Each year, we look for the person who the public would think of most synonymously with wine. While there is typically a healthy debate to come up with a winner in other years, 2024 was far and away Kamala Harris’s year. Her campaign speeches, the debate performance… she absolutely dominated.”
Harris was honored to accept the award. “As someone who was born into a middle-class family, this is the greatest achievement of my life,” she said in a video statement. “Wine Enthusiast is for enthusiasts. Enthusiasts are people who are enthusiastic. And enthusiasm is a tremendous thing. Wine is amazing, am I right? Wine is what life is all about. My life, at least. In that sense, wine is life. And life is meant to be lived with enthusiasm. And that is why I love wine. Somebody get me another bottle! HAHAHAHA!”
At publishing time, Harris had reportedly asked the magazine’s staff if it was true that the award came with a lifetime supply of wine.
