Lara Logan, one of the few remaining journalists, in a forum provided by US Senator Ron Johnson describes American journalism as a bloodsport for information warmongers. And she is correct.
Lara Logan is a South African-born journalist and war correspondent known for her extensive work in conflict zones. She gained significant recognition while working for CBS News, particularly for her coverage of the Iraq War and the Arab Spring.
Logan’s career includes notable moments such as her 2002 Peabody Award for her report on the abduction of Daniel Pearl.
She can attest to the powers of the Deep State and the weaponization of establishment-based entities in the age of information warfare.

As with Saddam and Gaddafi before him, we know that Assad was no libertarian hero. But unleashing an army dedicated to establishing an Islamic state in once-secular Syria hardly seems like a good idea to me.
As with President George W. Bush’s “Mission Accomplished” moment after Saddam’s overthrow, getting rid of Assad will prove to be the easy part. Rebuilding Syrian society after the destruction of the country will cost billions and will likely be about as successful as our “liberation” of Libya, which is still a failed, terrorist-dominated state more than a decade later.
In 2017 the Los Angeles Times published an article that, sadly, speaks volumes about the insanity of our interventionist foreign policy. “In Syria, militants armed by the Pentagon fight those armed by the CIA,” read the headline. How does it make any sense that the Pentagon is fighting a proxy war with the CIA on Syrian soil? What’s worse is that the American people are forced to pay for this Pentagon versus CIA war and then forced to pay again to rebuild the country after all the destruction.
The Syrian people will feel the cost in more than just dollars.
How involved is the US government in the overthrow of the Syrian government?
For the past ten years the US has controlled the areas of Syria oil and wheat production, stealing resources that we have no legal claim on. The combination of resource theft and extreme sanctions hollowed out Syrian society over the past ten years, so when the terrorists sprang forth from Idlib a few weeks ago there was little resistance.
Now instead of the relatively benign yet authoritarian rule of Assad, we have rule by the direct inheritors of the people who attacked us on 9/11. I am shocked that the mainstream media and many if not most politicians are cheering this. Ironically, some of the biggest cheerleaders for the al-Qaeda takeover of Syria are the same Members of Congress who finished their daily speeches on the House Floor with “we will never forget 9/11.” I guess they finally forgot?
Even if rap isn’t a favorite musical genre, you may well be impressed by this, from Blair Linne, wife of Reformed rapper Shai Linne, with her introduction to his Attributes of God album….
In this exchange between a pro-lifer and a passerby, we see that we don’t all have to be brilliant debaters to stand up for the unborn. The pro-choice side is horrible, so sometimes the best argument can simply be to get them to plainly state their position. And they may well be shocked at what they hear themselves say.
“You could also simply take the two great commandments and ask: how did I fare in loving God with all my being and my neighbour as myself? Or you could think in terms of sins of omission and commission. Where did I fail to do what God commands today (sinning by omission)? Where did I directly contravene what God positively commands (sinning by commission)?”
The biblical doctrine of male headship in marriage is being denounced as simply a means for abusive men to dominate and abuse women. But that’s not true.
“It’s odd that after years of being accused by atheists and materialists of being trapped in our spiritual fantasies and ignoring the real world, Christians now find themselves as the ones saying that the physical world – especially the human body – matters, is real, and is of utmost significance. But here we are. If Christ came in the likeness of men, if He promised to redeem humanity, and if our humanity includes the body, then our bodies really do matter.”
While talking with a friend recently, she brought up Luigi Mangione, who made headlines when he shot and killed United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. We exchanged thoughts and noticed how the younger generations defended someone who broke the law. In fact, in a recent poll, 41% of young voters found the killing of the CEO acceptable. Another article on msn.com states that young people view Mangione as a “folk hero.” This is another way that Gen Z and younger generations are being desensitized. It also exposes that they identify with utilitarian philosophy over biblical values.
Mangione is being praised not only for his appearance but also for his stance on healthcare companies’ greed. He is being hailed as a hero on social media for his supposed letter exposing corporate capitalism’s evils. At the same time, the person who tipped off authorities to Mangione’s whereabouts was bashed online and even threatened. One man committed a crime, and another did the right thing by reporting it to law enforcement, yet one is a hero, and the other is wrong. What’s wrong with this picture?
Utilitarianism vs the Bible?
Utilitarianism aims for the best possible outcome for maximum happiness, often considered the “greater good” for more people. However, achieving “maximum happiness” usually involves some sacrifice. One’s happiness could guide one’s moral actions. What happens when one’s happiness neglects another person’s rights?
The Bible reveals that God is a god of justice who cares for His creation. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne (see Psalm 89:14). Righteousness is what’s right, but not by our faulty standards; it’s according to His. It’s more important that we do what is right according to God than what we “think” is correct.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9).
While many view Luigi Mangione’s action as a good thing, what about the breaking of the law? A person was murdered. What about his family, and what about justice? The Bible makes it clear that we are not to murder—the laws in our land that stem from Judeo-Christian values state the same thing.
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20).
In the Bible, when people did what was “right in their own eyes,” it always got them into trouble (see Judges 21:25). This is where we are as a nation, and this is the dangerous philosophy the younger generations are buying into. Their justice is based on emotions and opinions, not truth. Without truth, there can be no real justice.
Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs and examines the hearts [of people and their motives] (Proverbs 21:2 AMP).
This same mindset is evident when we look at Gen Z and abortion statistics. A whopping 72% of Gen Z and younger millennials believe abortion should be legal in all or most cases. Abortion isn’t healthcare; it’s murder. Is it the “greater good” to take an innocent life because it’s inconvenient, deformed, or the outcome of rape, which is the actual crime?
Sadly, many young people believe abortion is the better option. That it would be better to terminate a pregnancy rather than have a baby born into poverty or end up in foster care. The woman’s greater good comes at the expense of the sacrifice of innocent life. Where are the human rights for life in the womb? Do you see how the enemy is at work?
Same Old Tricks
It’s been said that the mind is the battlefield, which is true. The battle is for the mind, but the war is for the heart. Satan’s goal is clear. Jesus said in John 10:10, “The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy.” He also said that from the beginning, he was a murderer and the father of lies (see John 8:44).
For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. So, when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate (Genesis 3:5-6).
Satan knows that most won’t fall and worship him. He perverts God’s word and gets people to agree with his lies. He blinds their minds so they cannot comprehend the gospel’s truth. He tempts people with wisdom that will “make people like God.” But the wisdom of this world is foolishness (see 1 Corinthians 3:19). There can be no true wisdom without God; He gives it.
Satan’s tactics from the garden have not changed. He lied to Eve and deceived her. When she believed his lie, she and Adam sinned against God. He was able to bring separation between God and man. The good news is he was defeated by Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. People can be reconciled to our Father through the Son. Jesus is the way, truth, and life (see John 14:6,) and his truth sets us free.
When we see young people defending abortion, murder, and things that the Bible calls sin, we must remember that Satan is at work. His lies have deceived them. Their minds have been blinded. Gen Z desires justice, but there can be no justice without truth. And there is no truth without Jesus. Here’s how we can intercede for these young generations.
Pray for their spiritual eyes to be opened and the gospel’s truth revealed.
And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.(2 Corinthians 4:3-4 NIV).
Pray for hearts to be transformed and softened (Psalm 51:10).
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Pray that strongholds will be demolished and replaced with God’s truth.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
Pray for God’s word to continue to grow in influence. Young people need the Word for godly instruction.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right (2 Timothy 3:16 NLT).
Pray they would experience freedom from oppression.
And that they may come to their senses [and] escape out of the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him, [henceforth] to do His [God’s] will (2 Timothy 2:26 AMPC).
The younger generations seek the truth. Pray for discernment concerning truth and lies.
Whoever is [spiritually] wise, let him understand these things; Whoever is [spiritually] discerning and understanding, let him know them. For the ways of the LORD are right, And the righteous will walk in them, But transgressors will stumble and fall in them (Hosea 14:9).
Gen Z seeks wisdom, so pray for wisdom to be revealed through the actual source, the Lord.
My son, if you will receive my words and treasure up my commandments within you,Making your ear attentive to skillful and godly Wisdom and inclining and directing your heart and mind to understanding [applying all your powers to the quest for it];Yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, If you seek [Wisdom] as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures, Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of [our omniscient] God. For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He hides away sound and godly Wisdom and stores it for the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him); He is a shield to those who walk uprightly and in integrity, That He may guard the paths of justice; yes, He preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness, justice, and fair dealing [in every area and relation]; yes, you will understand every good path. For skillful and godly Wisdom shall enter into your heart, and knowledge shall be pleasant to you (Proverbs 2:1-10 AMPC).
Pray for the younger generations to become agents of restoration and reconciliation.
But all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ [making us acceptable to Him] and gave us the ministry of reconciliation [so that by our example we might bring others to Him](2 Corinthians 5:18 AMP).
Pray for believers to be bold and speak the truth in love. The truth sets people free.
He must correct his opponents with courtesy and gentleness, in the hope that God may grant that they will repent and come to know the Truth [that they will perceive and recognize and become accurately acquainted with and acknowledge it] (2 Timothy 2:25 AMPC).

As drone sightings increase, many of the aircrafts have been spotted spying on military bases located next to Chinese-owned farmland. Meanwhile, officials are being asked to use encrypted means of communication following a Chinese cyberattack. What is going on in America?
From The New York Post. At least 17 military bases adjacent to Chinese-owned farmland across the US have experienced a rash of drone sightings in recent weeks, The Post has learned.
Mysterious drones have been reported near military bases in Hawaii and by installations in Utah, California, Maine and Florida — among other facilities scattered throughout the country.
All of those facilities apart from Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota and Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis in Texas had reports of drones either attempting to fly over their bases or nearby, according to local reports.
It comes as residents in New York and New Jersey have reported thousands of sightings of unexplained mystery drones in the night skies.
House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) said Tuesday he believes some of the unidentified craft are “spy drones” from China. …
At the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, officials were forced to shuts its airspace for four hours last week because of concern about the “small unmanned aerial systems,” Bob Purtiman, chief spokesman for the 88th Air Base Wing, told The Post.
In Virginia, drones have been spotted over Virginia Beach, which is about 24 miles from the naval station in Norfolk.
Meanwhile, in Washington state, mysterious drones were also spotted earlier this week close to the Fort Lewis Army base near Tacoma.
Unidentified aircraft have also been reported this month above New Jersey’s Picatinny Arsenal and the state’s Naval Weapons Station Earle — and on Sunday forced the temporary closure of Stewart International Airport in New York near Poughkeepsie.
Sources have previously raised their concerns to The Post over Chinese landowners, who are usually linked to, or working on behalf of, the country’s Communist government.
Morgan Lerette, a former contractor for private military contractor Blackwater, previously told The Post: “The Chinese are, or will, use this farmland to learn more about US military capabilities, movements, and technology. …
From The Epoch Times. A federal agency on Wednesday issued urgent written guidance to top government officials and politicians to immediately stop using standard phone calls and text messages after major U.S. telecommunications companies were targeted by Chinese hackers.
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) said in guidance that “individuals who are in senior government or senior political positions” should “immediately review and apply” best practices around using smartphones.
“Use only end-to-end encrypted communications,” it said …
End-to-end encryption refers to data protection that makes information unreadable except for the sender and its recipient. A number of chat apps including WhatsApp, Signal, iMessage, BrightChat, and others already have end-to-end encryption.
Regular phone calls and text messages are not end-to-end encrypted, meaning they can be monitored, either by telephone companies, law enforcement, or potentially by hackers.
The warning follows a prior notice issued by the FBI and CISA earlier this month that Americans should opt to use encryption. Wednesday’s guidance specifically tells high-level government and elected officials to quickly start using it.
Previously, CISA warned that Chinese regime-linked hackers known as “Salt Typhoon” have hacked into U.S. telecommunications systems and may be able to obtain sensitive data on individuals. …
During a recent episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan spoke to former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, about the way Democrats, the media, and the deep state, used the judicial system against Trump, noting that had it worked, would have set a dangerous precedent for the country.
You could easily make a case that it set a dangerous precedent even though it didn’t work, but Rogan’s point is well made.
He correctly points out that Democrats and the left in general, were willing to burn down everything that makes America what it is, just because they didn’t want Trump to win again.
For his part, Blagojevich, who is a Democrat and spent some time in prison on corruption charges, claims that he was like an early test case.
“If the weaponizing of the justice system worked, that is such an insanely dangerous precedent.”
“The most disgusting one was pretending someone was a victim because he overvalued Mar a Lago even though he paid those loans back and the banks profited. There was no victim at all, and yet they fined him this insane amount of money and tried to say Mar a Lago was worth $18 million.”
“No pushback from the media at all. They went along with it as if these 34 felonies for a bookkeeping error that is essentially a misdemeanor past the statute of limitations, and now you’re marking it up as a felony. You can’t even identify the felony.”

In a dramatic last-minute effort to avert a government shutdown, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a continuing resolution (CR) late Friday evening, funding federal agencies through March 14, 2025.
The bill passed with a 366-34 vote and now awaits Senate approval and Biden’s signature to become law.
More Democrats supported the new bill, with a vote count of 196 to 170.
Below is a breakdown of the funding allocations across various sectors:
Division A: Continuing Appropriations
This section extends government funding until March 14, 2025, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of essential federal programs.
Key Allocations:
District of Columbia Emergency Planning:
$90 million allocated for emergency planning, including $50 million for the 2025 Presidential Inauguration.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA):
$625 million to maintain the Geostationary Earth Orbit acquisition schedule.

$16.668 million for cybersecurity and national security system upgrades.

Most Likely to Succeed at Killing a President — U.S. Secret Service: While other government organizations were playing checkers and slowly weakening the country, the overachieving chess masters at the United States Secret Service stood head and shoulders above everyone else by attempting to throw the nation (and the entire world) into total chaos by trying to knock off a president. Keep not working hard, Secret Service, and you’ll eventually get the job done.

Upon news of the bill’s failure, Alex Soros — son of billionaire George Soros — posted his displeasure on social media, expressing concern that all the work he had accomplished while controlling Biden would be undone by the moves Musk was making while controlling Trump.
“Elon is controlling Trump!” Soros said on X. “No billionaire should hold the power to influence the incoming leader of the free world to make decisions that counter the power we have to influence the current leader of the free world. Something has to be done to stop this. But only for presidents we don’t like.”
With only a month until Trump’s inauguration, Democrat leaders warned that Trump’s age may make it easy for Musk to manipulate him. “It’s dangerous and unconstitutional for some billionaire businessman to hold so much sway over a president,” said Biden’s White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a very important lunch with Alex Soros to receive marching orders for President Biden’s last month in office.”
At publishing time, politicians and members of the media had still not decided what to call Musk’s unprecedented petitioning of Congress, though some were unofficially referring to it by using the more familiar term “lobbying.”

How many times have you entered an art gallery and had to peer at the small explanation at the side of a painting or sculpture before you knew what it was trying to convey?
How do you know whether a piece of art is good or bad? One test is whether you understand what it is trying to say, or when its meaning if any has to be explained. The purpose of art is to communicate and if a piece of art necessitates written explanation it has failed to communicate.
Of course repeated viewings of great works of art reveal fresh insights and we can gain understanding by reading knowledgeable art critics. That is because these works are complex and rich in meaning. Many examples of modern art require explanation because they are sterile in that they are devoid of meaning except whatever the viewer wishes to impose.
An Exhibition of Invisible Art
One European art collector paid $1.2million for a receipt written by the French artist Yves Klein to prove the ownership of one of his ‘invisible art’ pieces. In its auction catalogue Sotheby’s described the empty space as ‘the apotheosis of Klein’s lifelong quest to create an artwork which was “a direct and immediate perception – assimilation without any effect, any trick, or any deception”. In other words, he was aiming to directly transmit the power of painting – its sensibility – without depending on the painting-artifact to act as a medium.’ Sometimes even the explanation doesn’t explain.
Even when the art work is figurative it has to have a distortion within it to be accepted by our avant-garde cultural trendsetters.

The art any society produces is a reflection of the values of the society itself. Our art has become sterile because at its core it has, like our society, become anti-God. Acclaimed art today is anti-human and anti-nature, it has to reject the beauty at the core of creation because it has rejected the Creator.
The objectively beautiful, whether that be a building, a painting or a flower arrangement, points to God. Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder but is not purely subjective, every individual can recognise and has a standard of beauty even although that standard may differ. Beautiful works of art explain themselves. Even an unthinking unbeliever is moved on entering Chartres Cathedral and has an understanding of what it means, why it is there, and more importantly their own place in this sacred world they have entered. Great art communicates.
Even when good art portrays something which is not conventionally beautiful it can do so in such a way as to reveal the inner beauty. Instead of distorting and warping the beautiful, good art reveals the hidden beauty.
Our Western culture was built upon an understanding of God and contained a sense of wonder at what he had created. Human beings were known to be made in his image and the creation itself was seen as coming straight from the hand of God who ‘saw all that he had made, and it was very good’ (Genesis 3:1).
Every culture produces fruit, whether that is its laws, traditions, social structures or its art. A good, healthy, thriving culture produces good fruit, a faltering, lost and declining culture produces poor fruit. Art will never flourish again in the West until as a culture we return to reality and accept God.
American trust in medical institutions and vaccine technology has been plunging the past several years, and though the media treats this as a “troubling” and dangerous development for our society the shift might represent a positive change. The activities of Big Pharma have gone largely unchecked and unchallenged for many decades. The FDA has a revolving door policy, allowing pharmaceutical executives to exit their companies and work at the agency with impunity, then leave again and return to their former jobs. It’s not hard to understand how this creates a serious conflict of interest at the FDA.
This problem of corruption was never more clear than it was during the covid pandemic. Since that event, the US population has been losing faith in the ability of the government to scrutinize pharmaceutical products and protect people from potentially disastrous experimental medications and vaccines. When the love affair between government and Big Pharma was put on blatant display, the American people rightly began to question everything.
Recently, CNN unveiled a poll which proves that US faith in vaccines is in steep decline.
The reality is that the vaccines were largely unnecessary. Infections and fatalities were dropping rapidly well before the first vaccines were introduced to the public, likely because of natural immunity. Later spikes only prove that the vaccines had minimal effect on the spread of the virus.
At the height of the pandemic frenzy, the average Infection Fatality Rate of the Covid virus was a tiny 0.23%. Meaning, 99.8% of the public was under no threat from the illness. Furthermore those that did become dangerously sick were often elderly people with preexisting conditions.
This fact was reinforced by data showing that the vast majority of deaths from covid were among people with at least one comorbidity. If a person died after years of diabetes or cardiovascular disease, but they also had covid, the default of the medical establishment was to list the death as covid related. That is to say, deaths from covid and deaths from preexisting conditions were mixed together without regard for how this might affect public statistics.
It should also be noted that the IFR of covid did not change from pre-vaccination conditions to post-vaccination conditions. The death rate was the same regardless of vaccination status, though CDC, WHO and Big Pharma analysis often failed to use unvaccinated people as a control group. This was likely done deliberately to hide the bigger picture from the public.
Instead, the establishment would use stats like CFR (Case Fatality Rate) or “Mortality Odds”, which discount asymptomatic cases and greatly overestimate the true rate of death. Few establishment media outlets ever mentioned the real Infection Fatality Rate through the entirety of the pandemic.
The goal was to pump up the covid death count as high as possible in order to frighten the public into accepting experimental mRNA vaccinations that were rushed into production under FDA emergency approval. The average vaccine is tested for many years (sometimes a decade or more) in order to meet safety standards. Covid vaccines were slapped together and shipped out in less than 12 months. The action was hailed as a “medical miracle”, but the truth is that it was a massive gamble at best, and a draconian con at worst.
Governments around the world exploited pandemic fears and used unprecedented leverage to force the public into taking the jab. Keep in mind that the Biden Administration almost gained the power to penalize companies employing workers without proof of vaccination (vaccine passports). That is to say, the government under Biden tried to erase constitutional protections and take people’s jobs away unless they submitted to regular vaccines. It was an epic authoritarian sprint.
They were only thwarted because of the Supreme Court and the courage of conservative red states defying the agenda. The covid event has created a culture of distrust when it comes to vaccine science. Now, the public wants independent investigations and assurances on vaccines to prove safety rather than simply taking the FDA and Big Pharma at their word. It’s not so much a movement against vaccines – It’s a movement to demand transparency, something which Americans should have had to begin with.

The policies pursued by the outgoing US administration are “risky, even self-destructive,” says Russian deputy FM Sergey Ryabkov
The outgoing administration of US President Joe Biden is doing everything to make sure that President-elect Donald Trump will not be able to facilitate peace in the Ukraine conflict once he returns to the White House in January, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has said.
The policy currently pursued by the White House is “quite risky, even self-destructive,” Ryabkov told RT in an exclusive interview on Saturday. “We caution them against it,” the diplomat added.
He was referring to the permission given by Washington to Kiev to carry out strikes deep into Russian territory with American-made weapons, and an increase in arms deliveries to Ukraine, which happened after Biden’s loss to Trump in November’s election.
”The outgoing US administration demonstrates a unique capability of doubling down and destroying the chances of its successor,” Trump, of fulfilling his campaign promise of swiftly finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict between Moscow and Kiev, the deputy FM stressed.
There have been several strikes with US- and UK-supplied missiles on internationally recognized Russian territory in recent weeks, with the deadliest coming on Friday as five people were killed and twelve others wounded after the Kiev forces targeted the town of Rylsk in Russia’s Kursk Region with an American HIMARS system.
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned last month that Russia will respond to all such attacks and could go as far as using “weapons against military facilities of those countries that allow the use of their weapons against our facilities.”
Ryabkov also commented on various ideas voiced in the West about how peace between Russia and Ukraine could look, saying that Moscow is considering them, but views them as “informal.”
“They are a way to probe our position, but that is absolutely unnecessary as the President has repeatedly laid it out in full,” he explained.
Speaking at his end-of-year press conference on Thursday, Putin reiterated that Moscow remains open to negotiating with Kiev without any preconditions, except those that had already been agreed upon in Istanbul in 2022, which envisaged a neutral, non-aligned status for Ukraine, as well as certain restrictions on deploying foreign weaponry. He also noted that such talks would have to respect the realities on the ground that have developed since that time.
