Arminianism Brought Out of Hell the Pelagian Error & Christ’s True Cross-Work – Rev. Hines Podcast – YouTube

Passages: John 6:37-39; Romans 8:28-31; John 15; John 17; Ephesians 1:7ff.

From the Synod of Dort’s “Synodical Letter”:

“The Synod has declared that the Remonstrants have brought out of hell the Pelagian error, which teaches that man can, by his own strength, either resist or cooperate with the divine grace.”

“A spillover from Calvinism into Arminianism has occurred in recent decades. Thus many Arminians whose theology is not very precise say that Christ paid the penalty for our sins. Yet such a view is foreign to Arminianism.… Arminians teach that what Christ did he did for every person; therefore, what he did could not have been to pay the penalty for sin, since no one would then ever go into eternal perdition.” – J. Kenneth Grider (Arminian theologian)

FEBRUARY 6 | GOD TELLS US IN THE BIBLE WHAT HE IS LIKE

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
ACTS 2:3

Just because God cannot tell us what He is, He very often tells us what He is like, and by these “like” figures He leads our faltering minds as close as they can come to that “Light which no man can approach unto.”
Through the more cumbersome medium of the intellect the soul is prepared for the moment when it can, through the operation of the Holy Spirit, know God as He is in Himself. God has used a number of these similitudes to hint at His incomprehensible being, and judging from the Scriptures one would gather that His favorite similitude is fire.
In one place the Spirit speaks expressly, “For our God is a consuming fire.”
With the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost the same imagery was continued—for that which came upon the disciples in that upper room was nothing less than God Himself!
The God who had appeared to them as fire throughout all their long history was now dwelling in them as fire. He had moved from without to the interior of their lives. The Shekinah that had once blazed over the mercy seat now blazed on their foreheads as an external emblem of the fire that had invaded their natures.
This was Deity giving Himself to ransomed men and women.
The flame was the seal of a new union. They were now men and women of the Fire!

FEBRUARY—6 | And he bearing his cross.—John 19:17.

How would every incident in the life of Jesus lead out the souls of his redeemed in endless contemplation, were grace always in lively exercise! Alas! my honoured Lord, how little do I think of thee, and of thy sufferings! Will Jesus, this evening, awaken me to the solemn subject?—The bell of the neighbouring church is now tolling the curfew of the day. I hear it from my window. Ah! why should I want such a call to think on my Lord? Awake, awake, my soul, and let thy meditation take wing, and flee to Gethsemane, and from the garden and the hall, behold the Lamb of God bearing his cross towards the place of execution. O Pilate, thou unjust judge! is this thy pretended innocency, to suffer him—whom thou didst declare to be innocent, in the moment thou didst pass sentence for his death—to bear his cross also? See what long furrows the ploughers have ploughed upon his sacred back! and wilt thou compel him to bear the heavy weight upon a part so tender? See! Jesus faints under it! Will none of those, whose souls he hath redeemed, and whose bodies he hath healed, help the Lord of life and glory? Where are his disciples? Are there none to aid? Not one to be found that dares assist him?—Pause, my soul, over the sad contemplation! Christ is here, as his type represents him, the gospel Isaac, carrying the wood for his own burnt-offering. “In all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren.” It was his office to be led as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a sheep before his shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth. “It pleased the Father to bruise him, and to put him to grief.” The cross was ponderous. The body fainted under its pressure. But the sins of his redeemed made it heavier to his soul: and the weight of the Father’s wrath against sin aggravated the dreadful load. Precious Redeemer, dying Lamb of God! were my sins adding to thy sorrow? Have I been reproaching Pilate, and all the while forgetting that every transgression of mine became more painful to thy soul than the cross, or the thorns, or the soldier’s spear that pierced thine heart? Oh! for grace to crucify those sins which nailed thee to the cursed tree! Oh! for grace to take up the cross and follow thee, day by day. Lord Jesus, I would pray thee to give me grace, to go forth unto thee, “without the camp, bearing thy reproach!”

Evening, February 6 | “Pray one for another.”—James 5:16

As an encouragement cheerfully to offer intercessory prayer, remember that such prayer is the sweetest God ever hears, for the prayer of Christ is of this character. In all the incense which our Great High Priest now puts into the golden censer, there is not a single grain for himself. His intercession must be the most acceptable of all supplications—and the more like our prayer is to Christ’s, the sweeter it will be; thus while petitions for ourselves will be accepted, our pleadings for others, having in them more of the fruits of the Spirit, more love, more faith, more brotherly kindness, will be, through the precious merits of Jesus, the sweetest oblation that we can offer to God, the very fat of our sacrifice. Remember, again, that intercessory prayer is exceedingly prevalent. What wonders it has wrought! The Word of God teems with its marvellous deeds. Believer, thou hast a mighty engine in thy hand, use it well, use it constantly, use it with faith, and thou shalt surely be a benefactor to thy brethren. When thou hast the King’s ear, speak to him for the suffering members of his body. When thou art favoured to draw very near to his throne, and the King saith to thee, “Ask, and I will give thee what thou wilt,” let thy petitions be, not for thyself alone, but for the many who need his aid. If thou hast grace at all, and art not an intercessor, that grace must be small as a grain of mustard seed. Thou hast just enough grace to float thy soul clear from the quicksand, but thou hast no deep floods of grace, or else thou wouldst carry in thy joyous bark a weighty cargo of the wants of others, and thou wouldst bring back from thy Lord, for them, rich blessings which but for thee they might not have obtained:—

“Oh, let my hands forget their skill,
My tongue be silent, cold, and still,
This bounding heart forget to beat,
     If I forget the mercy-seat!”

FEBRUARY 6.—EVENING. [Or March 14.] “I have surely seen the affliction of My people.”

EXODUS 3:1–8; 10–20

NOW Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: (Though a man of deep learning he did not disdain the shepherd’s calling. There is no disgrace in work, but great shame in idleness,) and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
This is a standing emblem of the church, and often both friend and foe, like Moses, are puzzled to understand the marvel. It is wonderful that so poor and powerless a thing as a bush should survive the fires which try it so severely.
4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. (Like his ancestor Jacob, he felt “how dreadful is this place.” Fear rather than joy prevailed.)
7, 8 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.
11 ¶ And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? (The more fit a man is for God’s work the lower is his esteem of himself.)
12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain. (What an answer to all fears is that sweet word “Certainly I will be with thee.”)
13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. (By these two names the immutability and self-existence of God are set forth. Our God for ever exists and is for ever the same.)
15, 16, 17 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you; this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt: And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto a land flowing with milk and honey. (Sooner or later the Lord will bless his people and deliver them. He may for awhile leave them under severe trial, but he is mindful of his covenant and will visit them at the set time.)
18 And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.
19, 20 And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand. And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.

Love’s presence keeps the bush alive,
  Grace ’mid the flames can make us thrive;
Nor need th’ afflicted saint despair,
Though in the fire, the Lord is there.

February 7 – Tabernacles and Talents | VCY

TODAY’S BIBLE READING CHALLENGE:
  Exodus 26:1-27:21
  Matthew 25:1-30
  Psalm 31:1-8

  Proverbs 8:1-11

Exodus 26 and 27 are some of the passages that start getting into the “technical details.” Visualizing what the tabernacle looked like with a virtual tour may help to give some understanding to the passage.

Matthew 25:10 — Perhaps you’ve been intrigued by the Bible and have joined us this year. If you know about the Bible but don’t personally know the Lord of the Bible, please call out to Him before the door is shut and it’s too late! Being a good person – is not good enough!

Matthew 25:21, 23, and 26 — God has entrusted talents to His servants. A few years ago, Vic Eliason, who led what became VCY America into broadcast ministry, entered his eternal reward. Vic used the talents that God had given Him, and I am confident he heard the Lord tell him “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Will we hear “Well done” or will we hear “Thou wicked and slothful servant”?

Psalm 31:5 — Where have you heard this verse before? Jesus quoted this verse and many other Old Testament passages. While we may struggle with studying the Old Testament, remember that Jesus thought it was valuable and quoted it while on earth.

Proverbs 8:10 — What is better than silver, gold, and rubies? Wisdom! Reject the path of the simple and the fool! Follow wisdom!

Close Fellowship | VCY

And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord. (Jeremiah 31:34)

Truly, whatever else we do not know, we know the Lord. This day is this promise true in our experience, and it is not a little one. The least believer among us knows God in Christ Jesus. Not as fully as we desire; but yet truly and really we know the Lord. We not only know doctrines about Him, but we know Him. He is our Father and our Friend. We are acquainted with Him personally. We can say, “My Lord, and my God.” We are on terms of close fellowship with God, and many a happy season do we spend in His holy company. We are no more strangers to our God, but the secret of the Lord is with us.

This is more than nature could have taught us. Flesh and blood has not revealed God to us. Christ Jesus had made known the Father to our hearts. If, then, the Lord has made us know Himself, is not this the fountain of all saving knowledge? To know God is eternal life. So soon as we come to acquaintance with God we have the evidence of being quickened into newness of life. O my soul, rejoice in this knowledge, and bless thy God all this day!

How Are We to Use the Law: Let Me Count the Ways, Pt 1 | Morning Studies

By Rev. Dr. Mark Horne – Posted at Place For Truth:The three uses of the law—restraining sin, convicting sinners, and guiding believers in holy living—reflect its multifaceted role in God’s moral order. While the third use promotes societal order and the second provides a blueprint for Christian living, it is the first use that acts as a catalyst for evangelism. The first use, often called the pedagogical use, reveals sin and drives sinners to Christ for mercy and forgiveness. It holds up a mirror to humanity’s unrighteousness, convicting the heart and exposing the need for salvation. Unlike the other uses, which operate in the contexts of society and sanctification, this use of the law uniquely points directly to the gospel, highlighting our dependence on God’s grace through Jesus Christ. Let us look closer at this first use.

The Pedagogical Use of the Law: A Mirror to Reveal Sin

The first use of the law, often called the pedagogical use, reveals your sin and shows your need for a Savior. As Paul explains in Romans 7:7, “I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law.” The law acts as a mirror, reflecting God’s holiness and exposing your heart’s sinfulness. This function of the law is foundational to evangelistic paradigms like the Romans Road, Evangelism Explosion, and The Way of the Master. Each of these methods begins by confronting you with the reality of sin and the justice of God.

Consider the Ten Commandments. Each commandment holds up a standard of perfect righteousness, showing you where you fall short. When you lie, covet, or dishonor God, the law convicts you. This conviction is not cruelty but mercy, for it strips away your illusions of self-righteousness. As John Calvin wrote, “The law warns, informs, convicts, and lastly condemns every man of his unrighteousness” (Calvin 2011, 348).

The Doctrines of Justification and Union with Christ Illuminate One Another | The Log College

A Brief Explanation and Preliminary Defense

Scripture clearly says that Christians are united to Christ, but it is not intuitively obvious what this means. Union with Christ is a vague term. How is one united to Christ? The answers differ. Protestants, Roman Catholics, and Eastern Orthodox alike profess union with Christ while embracing soteriologies quite different from one another. And over the past century, prominent theologians have developed a variety of models to explain the nature of the union.1

When we examine Scripture, we find no discussion of union with Christ in the abstract. Instead, we learn what it means to be united to Christ as we read in Scripture about a range of events and blessings, such as Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection (e.g., Rom. 6:3–5Col. 2:11–12); baptism and the Lord’s Supper (e.g., Rom. 6:3–41 Cor. 10:16–17); the new covenant (e.g., Gal. 3:25–29); the outpouring of the Spirit (e.g., 1 Cor. 6:15–19); or calling (e.g., Phil. 3:14), justification (e.g., Rom. 8:1Gal. 2:17), adoption (e.g., Rom. 8:15–17), and sanctification (e.g., Rom. 6:41 Cor. 1:4–5). This observation helps to explain why different theological traditions can affirm union with Christ while attaching different meanings to it: since they have different theologies of the atonement, the sacraments, and the application of salvation, their theologies of union take on diverse hues.

Already, therefore, we confront a compelling reason to be cautious about making union with Christ a controlling concept. It is impossible to know what it means in the abstract. A bundle of other important biblical concepts give union with Christ its substantive meaning. One of these concepts is justification. Thus, a proper doctrine of justification (although obviously not only the doctrine of justification) helps us understand what it means to be united to Christ.

The Doctrine on Which the Church Stands or Falls

The Doctrine on Which the Church Stands or Falls

Matthew Barrett

This collaborative volume of 26 essays explores the doctrine of justification from the lenses of history, the Bible, theology, and pastoral practice—revealing the enduring significance of this pillar of Protestant theology.

At the same time, it is also implausible to think that we can fully understand the doctrine of justification independently of union with Christ. Granted, it is probably easier to develop a biblical doctrine of justification than to develop a doctrine of union, since justification is considerably more concrete and specific than the rather vague union withChrist, and since a couple of places in Scripture, especially Romans 3–5, devote extended discussion to unpacking explicitly what justification is, which no extended text does for union. Nevertheless, a biblical doctrine of justification depends on union just as a biblical doctrine of union depends on justification. The most obvious reason why is that Paul, in the midst of the very texts we most associate with his doctrine of justification, says that justification occurs “in Christ” or “in him” (Rom. 3:24; 8:12 Cor. 5:21Gal. 2:17Phil. 3:9). Evidently, a good doctrine of union provides necessary insight for understanding how God justifies us.

These initial considerations provide excellent reason to believe that neither union nor justification is fully self-explanatory but that the meaning of each depends on the other. And if so, our theology should not allow either one to control the other but should seek to understand them as mutually determining and illuminating. Many other areas of theology add weight to this preliminary case. I mention three in particular.

The first concerns Christ’s resurrection. Scripture tells us that Christ was justified in his resurrection (e.g., 1 Tim. 3:16), that we have been raised with Christ (e.g., Eph. 2:6Col. 3:1), and that Christ was raised for our justification (e.g., Rom. 4:25). This interconnected set of ideas implies that to understand our justification, we need to understand Christ’s resurrection and our union with him; to understand Christ’s resurrection, we need to understand his justification and our justification; and to understand our union with Christ, we need to understand his resurrection and our justification. This way of putting things may sound confusing, but it highlights an important point: the rich truths associated with Christ’s resurrection indicate that justification and union with Christ are mutually illuminating.

Second, both union with Christ and justification are covenantal,2 as demonstrated by Galatians 3, for example. This means that exploring the relationship of union and justification is to reflect on the covenant of grace, and explaining the covenant of grace is to reflect on union and justification. In Scripture, covenant is relational, since it binds two parties together in an oath-secured bond. But covenant in Scripture is also legal, since covenants involve mutual obligations that ought to be enforced. To recognize that the relational bond that constitutes biblical covenants has a legal dimension gives further reason to believe that justification and union with Christ need not be alternatives or competitors but are in fact mutually illuminating.

Third, a biblical doctrine of the Holy Spirit points to the same conclusion.3 The Holy Spirit is the bond of our union with Christ (e.g., Rom. 8:9–101 Cor. 6:15–19); the Spirit raised Christ from the dead (e.g., Rom. 1:41 Pet. 3:18); in this resurrection, Christ was justified by the Spirit (e.g., 1 Tim. 3:16); and the Spirit creates the faith by which believers are justified (e.g., 1 Thess. 1:3–5). From this theological angle as well, therefore, justification and union with Christ illuminate one another.

Notes:

  1. For a summary of five such models, see Constantine R. Campbell, Paul and Union with Christ: An Exegetical and Theological Study (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 2012), 60–61.
  2. This is an important theme in Michael S. Horton, Covenant and Salvation: Union with Christ(Louisville: Westminster John Knox, 2007); Grant Macaskill, Union with Christ in the New Testament(Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2013).
  3. The role of the Spirit in union with Christ is another important theme in Macaskill, Union with Christ; see also Murray, Redemption Accomplished and Applied, 205–6.

Groundbreaking Ebola vaccination trial launches today in Uganda
In a global first, Uganda’s Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization (WHO) and other partners today launched a first-ever clinical efficacy trial for a vaccine from Ebola from the Sudan species of the virus, and at an unprecedented speed for a randomized vaccine trial, in an emergency. This is the first trial to assess the clinical efficacy of a vaccine against Ebola Sudan virus disease. IAVI, the provider of the vaccine, conducted trials for safety and immunogenicity. It is also the first clinical trial of the vaccine during an outbreak.

GOP begins effort to recall all 66 DFL legislators who are boycotting legislative session
The Republican Party of Minnesota announced it is kicking off an effort to recall all 66 DFL members of the Minnesota House of Representatives for not showing up to work. “Our state is in crisis, and Minnesotans deserve elected officials who show up and do their jobs,” said GOP Chairman Alex Plechash. “If Democrats refuse to fulfill their constitutional duties, we will do what is in our power to find leaders who will.”

Israeli politicians welcome Trump’s proposal for US ‘take over’ of Gaza
U.S. President Donald Trump shocked the world with his suggestion that the United States take over not just the rebuilding of Gaza, but its administration. “The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it, too. We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site. Level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings. Level it out,” he said. When asked by a reporter who would live in Gaza, Trump said, “I envision the world’s people living there.”

Why no one wants Gazans
You’d think that with all the tears shed, by the nations of the world, over the plight of Gazans, that someone, among them, would be anxious to take them in and give them a home. But, the surprising reality is that no one wants them. Why is that? While it’s tempting to believe the convenient excuse, that facilitating a temporary home for Gazans might result in their never being permitted to return to the place where they have lived for decades, the claim is not relevant,

US officials unite behind Trump plan for Gaza relocation and rebuilding plan
“Peace in the region means a better life for the Palestinians. A better life is not necessarily tied to the physical space that you are in today,” Witkoff told Fox News in an interview. “A better life is about better opportunity, better financial conditions, better aspirations for you and your family. That doesn’t occur because you get to pitch a tent in the Gaza Strip and you’re surrounded by 30,000 munitions that could go off at any moment,”

Trump’s Gaza Plan is “The Final task before Messiah”
Biden’s policy of appeasing Iran was directly responsible for the Oct. 7 attack on Israel and the resulting multi-front war Israel is currently fighting. Netanyahu is currently in Washington as the first foreign leader hosted by Trump at the White House. And the news coming out of the Oval Office is stunning. Just a few weeks ago, Saudi Arabia threatened that they would not sign an agreement normalizing relations with Israel that did not include the creation of a Palestinian State. Trump announced on Wednesday that the Saudis had backed down and would consider an Abrahamic agreement with Israel. He also announced that the hostage release deal would be completed.

EU rejects Trump’s postwar plan, says Gaza ‘an integral part of a Palestinian state’
The European Union has firmly rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan for post-war Gaza, emphasizing that it views Gaza as an integral part of a future Palestinian state. An EU spokesperson reaffirmed its commitment to the establishment of a Palestinian state as a resolution to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

US Defense Sec. to Netanyahu: We’ll provide you with the ammunition that was not provided
Hegseth told Netanyahu that he had been to Israel 8 or 9 times, had visited the Western Wall and seen the activities of the IDF. He added that he understood the complexities of Israelis living next to existential threat. He promised Netanyahu that the Trump administration will provide Israel with the ammunition that was not supplied by the Biden administration.

Defense Secretary Hegseth to Netanyahu: Destroying Hamas, Hezbollah is ‘very important’ to us
“Destroying the capabilities of Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon is very important to us. You have a long memory, and so do we,” Hegseth said. “We welcome the elimination of the person responsible for killing marines in Lebanon. We released ammunition that had been delayed for a long time,” he added. Hegseth noted, “Regarding Gaza, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again. Therefore, other solutions are needed. Here at the Pentagon, we are prepared for all kinds of plans.”

Taliban minister flees after condemning ban on women’s education –
Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, the Taliban’s deputy foreign minister, may have been forced to flee the country after criticising the government’s ban on higher education for girls, The Guardian reported on Monday. Stanikzai was speaking at a graduation ceremony in Afghanistan’s Khost province in January when he expressed his request for the government to “open the doors of knowledge.” “There is no excuse for this – not now and not in the future,” Stanikzai said.

Is Justin Trudeau’s Resignation Good News for Israel?
Canada, once a symbol of justice and democracy, has lost its moral standing. Under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the nation has not only distanced itself from Israel, but also compromised its own integrity. This is more than a mere policy shift — it is a fundamental collapse of democratic values, leaving Canada’s global reputation in question.

World rejects Trump’s relocation plan, demands two states
Global reaction came swiftly on Wednesday to U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for Gazans to be relocated out of the Strip, which he described as a “demolition site”—with most, if not all, countries panning the idea.

US President Donald Trump has threatened to cut off all future funding to South Africa due to the country’s new land expropriation law, which will lead to the confiscation of land from white farmers. Trump says it is a “massive” human rights violation against white people.

As Germany’s federal election on February 23, 2025, approaches, the political establishment is in panic as the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), led by openly gay Chancellor candidate Alice Weidel, gains increasing support from the LGBT community, which is embracing the party’s policies that prioritize national identity, sovereignty, and security.

Learning That Our Government Has Been Doing Lots Of Very Bad Things
The entire world is watching in horror as the crimes of the United States government under the Biden administration are being revealed by DOGE for all the world to see. Election interference, overthrowing governments, ruthless censorship of ideas, funding terrorism, funding abortion, targeting politicians for harassment and promoting the exploitation of children are just some of the crimes against humanity that our government has been committing.

The Mainstream Media Will Never Recover From These Shocking Revelations About The Associated Press, The New York Times And Politico
…Sadly, we have just learned that some of our most prominent media outlets have been receiving enormous amounts of money from the government.  The New York Times, Politico and the Associated Press were being absolutely showered with money during the Biden administration, and it is no coincidence that their coverage of the Biden administration was extremely favorable.  This is a scandal of epic proportions, and there is no way that these media outlets will ever recover from this because their credibility is totally gone.

When It Comes To Propaganda, Hamas Has Taken Another Page Out Of The Nazis’ Playbook
Josef Goebbels, the Reich Minister of Propaganda from 1933 to 1945, was one of the core architects of the final solution. Propaganda played a significant role during the Holocaust era. It facilitated the evil work of the Nazi regime toward the destruction of one-third of the global Jewish population. The power of deception was prevalent throughout that era but was probably at its apex during the staging of the Theresienstadt Ghetto into a self-ruled Jewish town to fool the visiting officials from the Red Cross. The extent to which the Nazis went to stage a positive environment was very sick.

Dismantling of USAID by Trump and Musk is a critical blow to globalism
Alexander Dugin views the dismantling of USAID as a significant blow to globalism. He says it is comparable to the Soviet Union’s abolition of the Communist International (“Comintern”), an international organisation to promote world communism (1919-1943), and Cominform, a coordination body of Marxist-Leninist communist parties in Europe (1947-1956).

IN TODAY’S DIGEST

EXECUTIVE NEWS SUMMARY

Douglas Andrews, Thomas Gallatin, & Jordan Candler

  • Bondi tackles weaponization: Donald Trump’s attorney general was confirmed Tuesday night and sworn in Wednesday morning, and she wasted no time in getting to work. Yesterday, she issued directives to combat the weaponization of our two-tiered justice system, to seek the federal death penalty when appropriate, and to work with DHS to “completely eliminate” the Mexican drug cartels and transnational criminal organizations. As to the first of these, Bondi announced the establishment of a “Weaponization Working Group.” Among the items on the working group’s agenda will be a review of potential misconduct regarding the January 6 prosecutions, the targeting of “radical-traditionalist” Catholics by the FBI, the Biden DOJ’s focus on concerned parents at school board meetings, and abuses of the onerous Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act.
  • Politico and USAID: More revelations are coming out regarding how USAID was spending U.S. taxpayer money, and it isn’t pretty. Beyond spending millions on contraceptives for terrorists, the agency was also shelling out millions to Leftmedia outlets, including $8 million to Politico. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained, “I can confirm that the more than $8 million taxpayer dollars that have gone to essentially subsidizing subscriptions to Politico on the American taxpayers’ dime will no longer be happening.” In 2022, Politico published the leaked Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade, which was intended to undermine the Supreme Court. Lately, Politico has been pushing federal workers to resist Trump and his efforts to drain the Washington Swamp via its reporting. The Leftmedia rag has an $8 million motive for doing so.
  • Google ends race-based hiring: Diversity for diversity’s sake will no longer guide Google’s hiring goals. The Big Tech giant announced the change to its hiring practice on Wednesday, ending a policy of race-based hiring targets it adopted in 2020 in the wake of George Floyd’s death. At the time, Google pledged to increase by 30% “leadership representation of underrepresented groups” by 2025. Furthermore, Google will stop releasing annual diversity reports, a practice initiated in 2014, explaining that the company is reviewing its DEI-related programs, including those that “raise risk, or that aren’t as impactful as we’d hoped.” Apparently, Google recognizes that leaning into DEI is not a pathway toward greater business success or a more just society.
  • McConnell falls: Republican Senator and former GOP Senate Leader Mitch McConnell fell down a small flight of stairs while exiting the Senate chamber on Wednesday. The 82-year-old was quickly helped to his feet by Senators Steve Daines and Markwayne Mullin. A spokesman for McConnell said that the senator was fine and blamed the fall on “the lingering effects of polio in his left leg,” a disease he contracted as a child. However, McConnell was later seen in a wheelchair. Should McConnell have to vacate his seat due to declining health, Kentucky law requires the governor to call a special election to fill it. Should this occur, it would provide an opportunity for Democrats to shrink the Republican majority.
  • The NYT misleads on Trump’s pro-life pardons: When word gets out that your side was imprisoning 75-year-old women for peacefully protesting on behalf of the unborn, you tend to look, well, bad. So it’s not surprising that The New York Times went into spin mode to rehabilitate its fellow pro-abortion Democrats, charging those pro-lifers with having “shoved their way into the waiting room,” causing a nurse to sprain her ankle, and denying access to an abortion-seeker and her husband. But as Monica Miller and Michael New report, “It was not pro-lifers who were violent that day — it was the abortion facility staff. When three of the elderly pro-lifers attempted to enter the clinic, video shows a nurse charging the door and the facility manager repeatedly striking and jabbing the pro-lifers with a broom handle — seeking to force them back.” So much for “all the news that’s fit to print.”
  • Trump speaks at National Prayer Breakfast: “It’s great to be back at the Prayer Breakfast. And I hope you all agree it’s nice to once again have a president that shows up to the Prayer Breakfast.” So began Donald Trump’s remarks this morning, which combined free-form political riffs and occasional snippets of teleprompted material. Trump connected prayer to peace, noting, “As the Bible says, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers,’” adding that he hopes his greatest legacy will be as a peacemaker and a unifier. “I will always protect religious liberty,” he said, before announcing a presidential task force to do just that. “America’s glorious destiny is within our reach,” he said in closing. “And so, together, we will make America stronger, prouder, safer, freer, greater and more faithful to our God and ever before.”
  • Former UPenn female swimmers sue Ivy League and NCAA: “I never expected my Ivy League education to teach me that women must silently accept losing their opportunities and privacy,” said Grace Estabrook, one of three former University of Pennsylvania female swimmers who have raised a lawsuit against the university, the Ivy League, and the NCAA alleging Title IX violations. The former swimmers were on UPenn’s women’s team while “transgender”-identifying male Lia Thomas was on the team breaking women’s swimming records. The lawsuit, which seeks to have Thomas’s swimming records expunged, states, “Women swimmers throughout the Ivy League were left shattered by the disregard of their rights and opportunities in order to create new rights and opportunities in women’s sports for a man with biological advantages they could not hope to match.”
  • West Point shuts down woke student clubs: Elections have consequences, and in yet another undeniable example of The Trump Effect, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point announced that it’s done away with a dozen campus clubs built around wokeness. As it happens, all American warriors bleed red, and the Left’s obsession with such superfluities as race, ethnicity, sex, and gender has no place in our nation’s military academies. Among the canceled groups are clubs for Asian-Pacific, Latin, Black, and Women cadets. Orders from the Trump Defense Department also shut down Spectrum, a West Point gay-straight alliance. Never fear, though. As a West Point statement noted, “More than one hundred clubs remain at the U.S. Military Academy, and our leadership will continue to provide opportunities for cadets to pursue their academic, military, and physical fitness interests while following Army policy, directives, and guidance.” That’s just as it should be.

FEATURED ANALYSIS

Art of the Deal: Gaza Plaza Beach-o-Rama Edition

Emmy Griffin

President Donald Trump has once against stirred up the Left and the Right. In a joint press conference on Tuesday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump announced that his solution for addressing the Palestinian unrest was for the U.S. to take over Gaza. Here were his comments:

The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it, too. We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous, unexplored bombs and other weapons on the site. Level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings, level it out, create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area. Do a real job. Do something different. Just can’t go back. If you go back, it’s going to end up the same way it has for 100 years.

This proposal piggybacks on his earlier idea of resettling Gazan civilians in neighboring countries that are Muslim, like Jordan and Egypt.

This idea is straight out of the real estate mogul’s playbook. Gaza is ideal beachfront property, you might say, and there are a myriad of opportunities there. It’s something the Palestinians should have taken advantage of with all the foreign aid they have received. Sadly, most of that aid was stolen by the terrorist group Hamas, whom the Palestinian people elected to lead them.

Side note: USAID, a Democrat slush fund currently being targeted by DOGE, was apparently a significant funder of the aid funneled to Hamas. According to the U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs, “Since 2021, USAID/West Bank and Gaza has invested over $600 million in economic support funding of the Palestinian people, in addition to the over $2.1 billion in humanitarian assistance since October 7, 2023.”

When asked by the press who would live in the rebuilt Gaza, Trump said his vision was for an international community where anyone could live. In response to Trump’s announcement, Netanyahu commended the president:

Your willingness to puncture conventional thinking, thinking that has failed time and time and time again, your willingness to think outside the box with fresh ideas, will help us achieve all these goals. And I’ve seen you do this many times. You cut to the chase. You see things others refuse to see. You say things others refuse to say, you know. And after the jaws drop, people scratch their heads, and they say, ‘You know, he’s right.’“

Later, he said, “This is the first good idea that I’ve heard.”

While this out-of-the-box thinking is completely on brand when it comes to Trump and the Middle East, there are significant roadblocks to his plan. National Review’s Philip Klein lays it out eloquently: “The most fundamental flaw of the proposal is the assumption that the Palestinian population primarily is interested in living in a peaceful and prosperous place somewhere else. In reality, Palestinians are largely supportive of Hamas terrorism, they see Gaza as their homeland, and they don’t think Israel should exist. They will not want to leave. And other Arab countries won’t want to take them precisely because they know that it would mean importing a terrorism problem.”

I have also pointed out that Egypt and Jordan are totally uninterested in having more Palestinians in their land because the population is so radical. When the Palestinians are allowed to resettle in other countries, they have a destabilizing effect.

No one wants them.

This idea of the U.S. claiming more territory and revamping Gaza into a beautiful beachfront community is so off the wall that one can only assume Trump’s hyperbole is intended to do three things: 1. Show just how much Trump is willing to back Israel. 2. Illustrate that the Hamas regime is an oppressive and destructive one. 3. Use the threat as leverage to get Hamas to make meaningful concessions and reforms.

“It’s astounding how stupefying virtually the entire media field is on Trump’s out-of-the-box chess moves related to Gaza,” our Mark Alexander observes. “Every media source is treating this like checkers for their low-info consumers — low-info because the information they get is stupid. Trump has cleverly shifted attention from the two-state solution and is highlighting the fact that Egypt and Jordan want nothing to do with the Palestinians. This is not about turning Gaza into a resort; it’s about changing the debate.”

The bottom line: It’s effectively trolling in the sense that a beachfront resort isn’t going to spring up on the eastern Mediterranean. Still, the left-wing and right-wing media are having fits about it.

Whether or not Trump is serious about Gaza Plaza Beach-o-Rama, he is unquestionably serious about bringing peace to the Middle East. Frankly, the status quo has led to more war, more attacks, and more unrest for decades. It’s time to make it stop.

Headlines: Money Trails, Corruption, and Swamp Draining | Stand Up For The Truth Podcast

Mary dives into some headlines today that highlight the priorities and challenges of our new administration like nothing else. Trump and Musk have pulled the plug on the gooey, swampy USAID organization that provides funding to multiple countries for such diverse and in some cases, covert activities, such as terrorism, liberal causes, the overthrow of governments, and the corrupt Big Media. Taxpayer money has always been earmarked for overseas government aid, some of which, such as aid to Israel, actually is in our best security interests. But the average American, even before pulling the voting lever in November, truly had no idea that this was even taking place. We also look at the proposal for the US to take over Gaza, leveling the current decimated landscape, and giving Gazans a new start. With all that going on, we see that someone has put their foot on the gas pedal to make American’s lives better – yet the march to globalism goes on outside our borders, fulfilling Bible prophecy. Email Mary with your feedback!

Buckle up. Here are today’s topics:

Trump’s Gaza Riviera Proposal

  • Trump proposed transforming the war-torn Gaza Strip into a “Riviera” for economic development.
  • His plan includes U.S. control over Gaza, clearing unexploded bombs, leveling the area, and building jobs and housing.
  • International reactions:
    • Turkey: Called the idea “unacceptable.”
    • France: Warned of regional destabilization.
    • China, Russia, Spain, UK: Support a two-state solution.
  • Challenges highlighted by Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis:
    • Forcibly removing Gazans could be labeled ethnic cleansing.
    • Egypt and Jordan unlikely to accept 2 million refugees.
    • Increased Palestinian grievance could fuel unrest in the U.S.
    • Hamas is not yet destroyed, making rebuilding impossible.
  • Speculation that Trump’s proposal is more about drawing attention to the issue.

Zelenskyy Wants Nukes or NATO

  • Ukrainian President Zelenskyy suggests Ukraine should regain nuclear arms if NATO membership is off the table.
  • Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg dismissed this possibility as “slim to none.”
  • Reminder: Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons in 1994 in exchange for sovereignty guarantees, which Russia later violated.
  • The war in Ukraine has entered its third year, with prolonged U.S. financial aid.

USAID Controversy – Trump and Musk Targeting Foreign Aid

  • Drastic changes to USAID (U.S. Agency for International Development):
    • Dozens of officials placed on leave.
    • Thousands of contractors laid off.
    • Freeze on billions in foreign aid.
  • Historical background:
    • Established in 1961 by JFK during the Cold War.
    • Critics argue USAID promotes a liberal agenda and funds globalist causes.
  • Major spending highlights:
    • $40 billion spent in foreign aid in 2023.
    • Controversial allocations:
      • $68 million to the World Economic Forum.
      • $10 million for green transportation in Georgia.
      • $20 million for a Sesame Street show in Iraq.
      • $2 million for LGBT activism in Guatemala.
  • Trump’s crackdown:
    • Musk’s DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) aims to cut USAID spending.
    • “Resign via email” policy implemented for federal workers refusing to return to the office.
    • USAID absorbed into the State Department, marking a major shift.

USAID’s Role in Election Interference & Censorship

  • Revelations of USAID funding political manipulation:
    • Funded revolutions in Ukraine, Georgia, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan.
    • Over $9 million funneled to terrorist groups in Syria.
    • Supported censorship through the Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening.
    • Helped pass laws to censor speech worldwide.
  • USAID’s role in the COVID-19 pandemic:
    • Funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan.

Media Corruption & USAID Funding

  • Major media outlets receiving U.S. government money:
    • Politico: $34.3 million from USAID.
    • Associated Press: $19.5 million.
    • New York Times: $26.9 million from the U.S. government.
    • Reuters: $9 million for social engineering defense.
  • Trump admin cutting off media funding.
    • Politico employees missed a pay period due to funding issues.

Dismantling of USAID – A Blow to Globalism

  • USAID described as a “globalist transmission belt”.
  • Facilitated globalist projects promoting liberal democracy, market economies, and human rights.
  • Eliminating USAID weakens U.S. involvement in globalist agenda.
  • Musk warns: This is the only opportunity to regain government control.

Total Information Warfare – Controlling Public Perception

  • Retired Dutch Major General Frank van Kappen confirms:
    • Governments and media manipulate facts to impose reality.
    • Social engineering dictates behavior and controls narratives.
  • Big Tech’s AI obsession:
    • Silicon Valley is working toward an “artificial god”.
    • Transhumanist goals include overcoming aging and surpassing human limitations.
  • Antichrist system?:
    • The world is ripe for the rise of a global leader due to misplaced hope in technology and politics.

7 New Family Movies to Brighten Up Your February

February rarely tops anyone’s “favorite month list.

It’s cold. It’s often cloudy. And the sun sets each evening way too early. In fact, a 2023 YouGov survey placed February second on the list of Americans’ “least favorite months.” (January won that contest.)

Then again, maybe February gets a bad rap. Maybe we just need a new perspective.

During February, we gain roughly an hour of daylight. We build anticipation for spring. We also get to celebrate things like flowers, chocolate and love.

And …we get to enjoy family movie night.

Here are seven new movie options for families to enjoy this month.

Trump’s Shocking Gaza Strip Proposal Sparks Global Debate | CBN NewsWatch – February 6, 2025

One day after President Trump’s surprising plan to take over the Gaza strip, reactions are pouring in from Washington D.C. to Gaza. President Trump signed an executive order Wednesday designed to prevent transgender men from competing in women’s sports. Securing the release of the remaining hostages and ending the Gaza war is the expected focus of today’s talks as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concludes his visit to Washington with a series of meetings on Capitol Hill. The pro-family and pro-life movements have their roots in the Bible and in the founding documents of our Nation. Through the years, the traditional family and the right to life have both come under attack.

Pro-Life, Pro-Family Movements Find Ally in White House but Struggle Post-Roe

Americans who support family values say they are fighting an ideological and even a spiritual war against forces seeking to destroy the traditional family. Their message is simply families are the building blocks of a great nation, pointing to God’s mandate to be fruitful and multiply.

Marco Rubio Issues Blistering Statement After Refusing to Attend G20 Summit in Protest of South Africa’s Policies | The Gateway Pundit

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced he will not attend the upcoming G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa, scheduled for February 20-21.

This decision comes in direct response to South Africa’s controversial land expropriation policies and its promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

Rubio took to X to lambast South Africa’s recent actions, stating, “I will NOT attend the G20 summit in Johannesburg. South Africa is doing very bad things. Expropriating private property. Using G20 to promote ‘solidarity, equality, & sustainability.’ In other words: DEI and climate change.”

He continued, “My job is to advance America’s national interests, not waste taxpayer money or coddle anti-Americanism.”

— Secretary Marco Rubio (@SecRubio) February 5, 2025

Posts on X have echoed Rubio’s sentiments, with many users, including Elon Musk, applauding his decision not to engage in the misuse of international diplomacy for ideological posturing.

The Secretary of State’s comments highlight a growing concern over South Africa’s land seizure bill.

The bill, signed into law recently, allows the South African government to expropriate land for what it deems “public purpose or in the public interest,” often without just compensation.

President Donald Trump announced “a full investigation” and is “cutting off all future funding to South Africa” until the situation is resolved.

“South Africa is confiscating land, and treating certain classes of people VERY BADLY. It is a bad situation that the Radical Left Media doesn’t want to so much as mention. A massive Human Rights VIOLATION, at a minimum, is happening for all to see. The United States won’t stand for it, we will act. Also, I will be cutting off all future funding to South Africa until a full investigation of this situation has been completed”, Trump posted on Truth Social.
