Trump’s week in review: Trump Accounts for kids, abortion pill lawsuit intervention

U.S. President Donald Trump arrives on stage before delivering remarks during the Treasury Department’s Trump Accounts Summit at Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium on Jan. 28, 2026, in Washington, D.C. “Trump Accounts” are a portion of recently passed tax and spending legislation where the federal government will deposit $1,000 into investment accounts for every child born between 2025 and 2028 once parents sign their children up while filing their income taxes. | Win McNamee/Getty Images

This week saw multiple developments in both fiscal and social policy in the United States. The Trump administration took action to reverse a Biden-era policy requiring pharmacists to dispense abortion-inducing drugs, while urging Louisiana to drop its lawsuit challenging the availability of abortion pills by mail, and found that a major college violated federal law by letting trans-identified male athletes compete in women’s sports.

President Donald Trump also unveiled an initiative to give a $1,000 investment to babies born in the next three years. And he announced his pick to lead the Federal Reserve. Here are five highlights from this week.

Water, Vinegar, and Suspicious Millions: Questions Surround Ilhan Omar | The Gateway Pundit

When they sprayed water on someone suspected of fraud, I said nothing, because I was not suspected of fraud…

Liberal accounts on social media are praising Rep. Ilhan Omar’s courage for raising her fist at her attacker after being squirted with a small amount of water. Mainstream media are quick to point out that the syringe did not contain only water but also apple cider vinegar, a non-irritant which, if it hits your face, can cause temporary blindness and a sour taste in your mouth. It is also known to remove stains from clothing.

Unlike President Trump, who missed one day of work after being shot, the courageous Ilhan Omar returned to the podium and defiantly continued her diatribe on why federal law enforcement should be discontinued. Where others might have been concerned that there was a chemical or biological weapon in the syringe, Omar pressed on, almost as if she knew she had been doused with salad dressing.

While recovering from the traumatic ordeal that left droplets of moisture on her blouse, Omar is reportedly under Justice Department investigation over questions surrounding her finances and the rapid growth of her personal wealth since entering Congress.

Critics point to financial disclosures showing her family’s assets grew from a reported negative net worth when she entered Congress in 2019 to 2024 estimates ranging between $6 million and $30 million.

President Trump has been criticized for claiming Omar went from having “NOTHING” in Somalia to being worth over $44 million. He has been attacked by the media, which claim the $44 million figure is an exaggeration, but whether the figure is $30 million or $44 million, it is reasonable to ask how she arrived at such a large sum in just a few years while earning about $175,000 per year.

Based on her own filings, the value of her husband’s stake in Rose Lake Capital jumped from a maximum of $1,000 to a minimum of $5 million in a single year. Despite signing these forms under penalty of perjury, Omar told Business Insider in February 2025 that the claim she is worth millions is “categorically false.” She went on to say that she is “barely worth thousands” and owns neither a house nor stocks. As a result, it appears that in some interviews she has suggested her net worth is less than $1 million, while in others she has attributed the growth in her net worth to prudent investment.

Forensic accountants and the House Oversight Committee are now looking for the “why.” They are investigating whether the 2024 valuation was a typo, a massive success for her husband’s firm, or related to broader federal investigations into billion-dollar fraud within Minnesota state assistance programs and Somali-linked charities, such as the “Feeding Our Future” fraud scandal.

Omar responded by accusing Trump of using conspiracy theories about her to distract from declining political support and policy failures, saying previous investigations found no wrongdoing while calling for federal immigration agents to leave Minneapolis and urging the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

Whether anyone will heed Omar’s calls to end immigration enforcement operations or remove Secretary Noem remains to be seen. However, the investigation into Omar’s finances continues. On Kalshi, a CFTC-regulated prediction market where users trade on real-world outcomes, the odds as of January 30 placed a 49 percent probability on Ilhan Omar being charged with a federal crime this year.

While Omar and her supporters claim the DOJ is being weaponized against her, they fail to recognize that the government is also attempting to assist her by getting to the bottom of the vicious attack she barely survived.

The FBI has assumed control of the investigation into the attack during a town hall event in Minneapolis, according to confirmation from both local police and federal authorities. Minneapolis police charged the suspect, identified as 55-year-old Anthony Kazmierczak, with third-degree assault.

Democrats are blaming President Trump for the attack, saying his rhetoric enables political violence, which is ironic given the widespread violence against ICE agents and Republicans in general, fueled by Democratic lawmakers framing them as Nazis and the Gestapo. They are also criticizing Trump for stating publicly that he believed the attack was a hoax. Media have even linked the incident to negative sentiment caused by investigations into Somali-linked fraud.

Ostensibly, Democrats believe that ICE enforcement should be halted and fraud investigations into Omar and the broader Somali community should be terminated, or these types of spritzing attacks will become commonplace.

Dark Money and Foreign Influence: Global Network Funding Anti-ICE Protests | The Gateway Pundit

Research and analysis groups investigating the funding behind protest organizations have identified a network of interconnected NGOs. Beyond the Soros and Open Society network, other major funding ecosystems include the Arabella funding network, the Tides funding network, Neville Roy Singham and his foreign-funded network, and other large left-wing donors.

The Tides Foundation and Arabella Advisors operate as pass-through entities that allow donors to fund specific causes anonymously. In Minnesota, groups such as the Sunrise Movement, which pivoted toward anti-ICE activity in 2025–2026, have received millions of dollars from the Sixteen Thirty Fund, an Arabella-managed group, as well as from the Tides Foundation.

The Soros and Open Society network remains a primary funding source for organizations such as the Legal Rights Center in Minnesota, which operates the “Know Your Rights MN” project. That project has been linked to bail funds supporting anti-ICE protesters in the Twin Cities.

The Ford and MacArthur foundations, while historically focused on broad social justice initiatives, have also appeared in 2025 grant disclosures as significant financial backers of Sunrise Movement chapters across the Midwest.

Some of these entities and funders are not U.S. citizens, including Hansjörg Wyss of Switzerland. They pour money into this broader ecosystem, which helps fund decentralized crowdfunding platforms that allow Antifa, the John Brown Gun Club of Elm Fork, which has been linked to an attack on an ICE facility, the Socialist Rifle Association, and other groups to receive financial support.

Neville Roy Singham is an American tech billionaire born in 1954 who founded ThoughtWorks, a software company sold for $758 million in 2017. He now resides in Shanghai, China, and has been accused by U.S. lawmakers, media outlets, and investigators of using his wealth to fund a global network of NGOs and activist groups that promote Chinese Communist Party narratives while opposing U.S. policies on foreign affairs, human rights, and immigration.

Singham denies being a CCP agent, stating that he does not take orders from any government, but reports highlight his close ties to Chinese state media and propaganda efforts.

Singham’s funding operates through a web of nonprofits, shell companies, and donor-advised funds, often with minimal transparency, including addresses listed at UPS stores. Key entities include United Community Fund, Justice and Education Fund, and People’s Support Foundation, which act as conduits and are headed by associates such as Jodie Evans, a Code Pink co-founder, or former ThoughtWorks employees.

Funded groups include Code Pink, People’s Forum, Tricontinental Institute, Party for Socialism and Liberation, ANSWER Coalition, International People’s Assembly, BreakThrough News, and others.

These organizations focus on far-left causes, including anti-war, pro-Palestine, and anti-capitalist activism, with messaging that aligns with CCP views, such as defending China on human rights while criticizing U.S. actions. The network has distributed millions of dollars, with People’s Forum admitting it received more than $20 million from Singham, funneled through intermediaries. Reports from The New York Times in 2023 and other outlets describe the system as an elaborate dark money network advancing CCP influence worldwide, including in the United States, India, South Africa, and Brazil.

Singham has been repeatedly linked to funding anti-ICE protests and riots in U.S. cities. These claims stem from congressional investigations, media reports, and public statements, though direct financial trails are often obscured by the network’s structure.

Groups such as the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Code Pink, People’s Forum, and the ANSWER Coalition, all funded by Singham, have organized or supported anti-ICE actions, including the “Shut It Down for Palestine” campaign, which intersects with broader anti-U.S. policy protests and unrest in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, and other cities.

There are also allegations that Singham’s network provided logistical and financial support for “Hands Off Venezuela” and pro-Maduro protests that overlap with anti-deportation efforts. Nationwide, his funding has been tied to pro-Palestine campus protests, anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles in 2025, and current “ICE-Out” actions, often framed as part of a broader information operation against U.S. interests.

Representative Anna Paulina Luna of Florida has publicly stated that Singham is “funding a lot of these anti-ICE riots,” calling him “worse than Soros” and linking him to groups such as the “armed queers of Salt Lake City” and Cuban activist networks.

While direct communist terrorist links are not explicitly listed on IRS forms, as groups would lose their 501(c)(3) status, the ideological and financial lineage is traceable. Several Minnesota groups, including ISAIAH, are associated with the Gamaliel Foundation, which was founded on the community-organizing principles of Saul Alinsky. These methods are designed to rub raw the sores of discontent to force radical structural change. Reports in 2025 indicated that nearly $2 billion in foreign money from the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Switzerland has flowed into U.S. political advocacy groups since 2020.

While many of these entities are labeled climate foundations, the money is frequently diverted into Get Out the Vote efforts and civil society training used during periods of unrest. As of January 2026, the FBI has opened investigations into the funding behind violent anti-ICE protests in Minneapolis, specifically examining evidence of coordinated interference and the theft of government property.

Trump Defends Kristi Noem from “Radical Left Lunatics, Insurrectionists, Agitators, and Thugs” – “ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES!!!” | The Gateway Pundit

President Trump on Friday gave a strong defense of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem as the left and Democratic lawmakers call for her ouster and scheme to impeach her following the midterm elections.

This comes after the shooting deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, two violent rioters in Minneapolis who attacked federal law enforcement.

“The Radical Left Lunatics, Insurrectionists, Agitators, and Thugs, are going after Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security, because she is a woman, and has done a really GREAT JOB!” Trump said, reiterating his support for Noem as DHS Secretary.

“The Border disaster that I inherited is fixed, the violent criminals that were allowed into our Country through Sleepy Joe’s “sick” Open Border Policy, are largely gone, or being strongly sought for purposes of removal, and the Murder Rate in the USA just reached the lowest level in history, 125 years! Washington, D.C., is now one of the safest cities in America – Likewise, numerous other once very dangerous cities!”

Trump further slammed the “Crooked Democrats, who are stealing Billions of Dollars from Minnesota, and other Cities and States from all over the Country,” telling Republicans not to let them “push you around.”

“They are using this aggressive protest SCAM to obfuscate, camouflage, and hide their CRIMINAL ACTS of theft and insurrection. They should all be in jail. I was elected on Strong Borders, and Law and Order, among many other things,” Trump added, thanking Kristi Noem for helping to secure America’s borders.

Earlier this week, Trump responded to calls for Noem to resign or be fired amid the chaos in Minnesota, shutting down a reporter at the White House with a resounding “No.”

“I think she’s doing a very good job,” Trump added.

“The border is totally secure,” the President said. “You forget, we had a border that I inherited where millions of people were coming through. Now, we have a border where no one is coming through.”

JUST IN: “Send them Back to Somalia” – Trump Calls for “Scammer” Ilhan Omar’s Deportation, Slams Tim Walz Over Somali Fraud in Minnesota | The Gateway Pundit

Image shows Ilhan Omar speaking on the left and Donald Trump addressing supporters at a rally on the right, highlighting contrasting political perspectives.

President Trump, once again, highlighted the massive theft and fraud of welfare programs by Somali aliens this morning, slamming Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Rep. Ilhan Omar of Somalia, calling for her deportation.

“Omar and her absolutely terrible friends from Somalia should all be in jail right now or, far worse, send them back to Somalia,” Trump said.

This comes after Trump sent Tom Homan to Minneapolis to deal with Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

However, on Tuesday after meeting with Homan, the Minnesota Governor laid out demands for “swift, significant reduction” in federal agents deployed to Minnesota, and “an end to the campaign of retribution.” Earlier, Walz had already taken a victory lap before meeting with Homan, declaring in an interview that what he described as a “massive organized nonviolent resistance” forced the Trump Administration to back down, a win for the radical thugs rioting in the streets of Minnesota.

Mayor Frey, who previously told ICE to “get the f*ck out of Minneapolis,” doubled down on his refusal to cooperate with the federal government, announcing on social media, “I shared with Mr. Homan the serious negative impacts this operation has had on Minneapolis and surrounding communities, as well as the strain it has placed on our local police officers.” Frey added, “I also made it clear that Minneapolis does not and will not enforce federal immigration laws, and that we will remain focused on keeping our neighbors and streets safe.”

Homan later announced that he plans to “draw down on the number of people” from ICE and CBP stationed in Minneapolis. Homan told reporters that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison had agreed to do the bare minimum and hand over illegal aliens from their prisons and jails instead of releasing them back into the community.

“Attorney General Keith Ellison clarified for me that county jails may notify ICE of the release dates of criminal public safety risks so ICE can take custody of them, upon their release from the jail,” Homan said. This is great if you trust Minnesota officials.

But Trump highlighted another glaring issue in Minnesota, slamming Tim Walz and Somali-born fraudster, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

“The Theft and Fraud in Minnesota is far greater than the 19 Billion Dollars originally projected,” Trump said.

“‘Governor’ Waltz is either the most CORRUPT government official in history, or the most INCOMPETENT. Even a very low IQ person, of which there are many, should have known what was going on in Minnesota!!!”

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the President said in a statement earlier this week, “a major investigation is going on with respect to the massive 20 Billion Dollar, Plus, Welfare Fraud that has taken place in Minnesota, and is at least partially responsible for the violent organized protests going on in the streets.”

He further noted that Omar is under investigation by House Republicans, probing how she went from low-IQ Somali to multi-millionaire while serving in Congress. Omar, whose community has stolen billions of dollars from the American people, has reportedly gone from being worth  $51,000 in 2023 to as much as $30 million now.

After Church Invasion, Don Lemon Arrested Under Law Democrats Wrote to Protect Abortion Clinics | The Gateway Pundit

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon claims that his actions, and those of the leftist protesters who followed him into a church to disrupt Sunday services, were protected under First Amendment press freedom and freedom of speech. Lemon ignores the fact that parishioners also have a right to attend worship without being harassed or disturbed.

Leftist activists have frequently used tactics such as cowbells and horns to drown out conservative speakers, reflecting a belief that their right to make noise supersedes another person’s right to speak. In this case, however, it is especially appalling that they claim a right to protest that overrides people’s right to worship God.

Lemon was arrested on January 30, 2026, and charged with federal crimes related to an anti-ICE protest at Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, on January 18, 2026. A federal grand jury indicted Lemon and eight others on charges of conspiracy against the rights of religious freedom at a place of worship and interfering with the exercise of religious freedom at a place of worship.

The charges stem from alleged violations of the FACE Act, which protects the right to exercise religious freedom without injury, intimidation, or interference.

The protest, called Operation Pullup, was organized by activist Nekima Levy Armstrong and targeted Pastor David Easterwood, who also serves as an ICE field office director. Prosecutors allege the demonstration was planned as a coordinated disruption of the church service. According to the indictment, protesters shouted, blew whistles, and interrupted the sermon, intimidating congregants and interfering with worship.

Prosecutors characterize the event as a takeover-style attack and allege Lemon knowingly joined the group, participated in planning elements, and helped obstruct congregants and the pastor during the service.

Lemon was arrested late at night in Los Angeles while covering the Grammy Awards, appeared in federal court on January 31, and was released on his own recognizance without posting bond. Prosecutors had sought a $100,000 bond and travel restrictions, but the judge denied both requests. Lemon has not entered a plea, though his attorneys say he will plead not guilty. His next hearing is scheduled for February 9 in Minneapolis.

The case revives charges that a federal magistrate judge had rejected the previous week for insufficient evidence. Minnesota Chief U.S. District Judge Patrick Schiltz previously wrote that Lemon and his producer were not protesters and that there was no evidence they engaged in criminal behavior or conspired to do so. Attorney General Pam Bondi later directed federal agents to arrest Lemon following the magistrate judge’s decision.

Civil liberties groups, press freedom organizations, and Democratic officials criticized the arrests as an attempt to chill journalism and dissent. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison called the arrests deeply troubling, while national press organizations warned the case could set a dangerous precedent for First Amendment protections for journalists covering protests.

The FACE Act charges against Lemon carry particular irony given the law’s legislative history. The FACE Act was introduced in 1993 by Democrats Chuck Schumer and Ted Kennedy to protect abortion clinics from violent anti-abortion protesters. Republicans and religious groups opposed the bill, arguing it was one-sided and targeted only pro-life activists.

Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah proposed an amendment extending the bill’s protections to those exercising their right to pray at a house of worship. Hatch said the amendment would ensure religious liberty received the same protection the bill gave abortion access, arguing that anyone who opposed the amendment valued religious freedom less than abortion.

The amendment made the law content-neutral by protecting access to both medical and spiritual services. Ted Kennedy accepted the amendment without objection, and Democrats agreed to it to secure the votes needed for passage.

The Senate passed the bill 69–30, with 17 Republicans voting in favor, and President Clinton signed it into law on May 26, 1994. Between 1994 and 2024, the Justice Department brought 211 FACE Act cases, 205 of them against pro-life activists. The religious worship provision remained largely dormant for nearly 30 years until the Trump administration began using it in 2025–2026.

The charges against Don Lemon rely on the Republican-led amendment. The Justice Department argues that by participating in a protest that disrupted a church service, Lemon violated the portion of the law that prohibits physical obstruction interfering with any person lawfully exercising the First Amendment right to religious freedom at a place of worship.

Three Things the Left Lied about this Week: January 31, 2026 | IFA

The lies of the Left are getting bigger and crazier by the day. Not only are they deceptive, but many encourage others to commit violent acts, or defy the law. In today’s divisive world, the truth tellers must be bold, so that falsehoods do not gain a foothold.

Nurse Encourages Followers to Poison ICE Agents

The first lie told by the Left this week comes from a nurse who believes she’s part of the “resistance” and “helping the cause” when it comes to fighting against ICE agents. Perhaps many Americans believe they’ve heard it all when it comes to the erratic, irrational, and hateful responses to ICE officers in recent weeks. A nurse identified as Melinda from VCU Health, however, may win the award for malicious intent because her videos openly encourage people to poison ICE agents.

WND and the Libs of TikTok posted videos of the nurse as she spewed  hateful ideas. In the shocking footage, the woman brags, “I thought of something good…sabotage tactic, or at least a scare tactic. All the medical providers, grab some syringes with needles on the end–have them full of saline or succinylcholine, whatever. That will probably be a deterrent.”

In another video she suggests, “for today’s resistance tip, I vote anybody got any poison ivy, poison oak in their yard? Get some of that…get it in some water, like a gallon of water, get the poison ivy/oak in water and I’m going to put it into a water gun. Aim for faces, hands.”

If that weren’t enough, the nurse, who can be seen wearing her medical scrubs in the video, insists that single women “could help the cause” if they “get on Tinder, get on Hinge, find these guys–if they are an ICE agent, bring some Ex-Lax, put it in their drinks. Get em sick…let’s get them where they eat. Somebody’s not going to be supporting these guys–where’s the hotel where they eat? Who makes their breakfast? Let’s find them. Let’s make their lives f****** miserable…Talk to the people who work at the places where they are…just stay toxic.”

Nurse Fired for Dangerous Rhetoric

Thankfully, this wayward nurse was fired for her insensitive, dangerous vitriol. “Following an investigation, the individual involved in the social media videos is no longer employed by VCU Health,” the hospital said in a statement. The VCU Police are also investigating the nurse after her post went viral.

Melinda the nurse mentions injecting succinylcholine into ICE agents. For background, its main uses are “to induce rapid, temporary muscle relaxation for easier tracheal intubation (placing a breathing tube) during surgery under general anesthesia.” Doc T MD/PhD explained further on X, “This is not grounds for firing. This is grounds for arrest and attempted murder. Succinylcholine is a paralytic used only in emergency settings because immediately after injecting, patients are paralyzed and must be intubated. Without intubation, they die.”

The Left continues to propagate the lie that ICE agents are Nazis who are kidnapping law-abiding immigrants. This stirs up anger and hatred among people who are ill-informed. Violence and harmful acts are becoming an all-too-common response, even among people who are charged with overseeing our health.

Arizona Attorney General Says Stand Your Ground with ICE

The next lie told by the Left this week involves Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes who is facing calls to resign after several interviews where she warned that ICE agents and Arizona’s Stand Your Ground laws could end up clashing.

In an interview with 12News she said, “It’s kind of a recipe for disaster because you have these masked federal officers with very little identification, sometimes no identification, wearing plain clothes and masks. And we have a Stand Your Ground law that says that if you reasonably believe that your life is in danger and you’re in your house or your car or your property, that you can defend yourself with lethal force.”

Mayes added, “I mean if somebody comes at me wearing a mask–by the way, I’m a gun owner–I can’t tell whether they’re a police officer, what am I supposed to do? No, I’m not suggesting people pull out their guns, but this is a Don’t Tread on Me state…real cops don’t wear masks.”

Mayes received significant backlash for her comments. Subsequently, she released a statement charging that “right-wing media” mischaracterized her words and intent.

Some of her message reads, “Despite how right-wing media has mischaracterized recent comments I made about ICE and the danger its actions pose to public safety, the idea that I would want the life of any member of law enforcement put in danger is wrong, offensive, and an outright lie. Danger to law enforcement is the very thing I want to avoid in Arizona. But I will not be deterred from speaking out or criticizing the Trump administration for its ongoing abuses of power and its trashing of our sacred constitution — which I took an oath to uphold. An oath that I take seriously with every ounce of my being. And I will not accept the hypocrisy from Republican legislators and candidates for office who have twisted my words but remained silent after Donald Trump pardoned the rioters who assaulted and beat capitol police officers on January 6th, 2021. Arizonans do not want masked agents entering their homes without warrants. It is un-American and threatens the rights and safety of everyone in our state. But we have all witnessed the increasingly chaotic and dangerous activity of ICE agents in cities across the country. And this month, two Americans, Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti have been killed at the hands of federal agents in Minneapolis. The federal government has also become openly hostile to state and local law enforcement organizations in Minnesota that are attempting to keep their state safe.”

The Left wants Americans to believe that their intent is to avoid dangerous conflicts and protect the lives of citizens. But their very actions show the opposite. Instead of enforcing the law, they are undermining it every chance they get. Through violent protests and clashes, they are putting citizens and law enforcement in harm’s way. This situation is volatile and needs much prayer, especially as the facts get twisted.

Attorney General Candidate Says He’s Going to Kill President Trump

The third lie told by the Left this week comes from a Democrat running for Ohio attorney general who thinks that Donald Trump deserves capital punishment. Elliot Forhan took to social media and made his intentions clear. “I want to tell you what I mean when I say that I am going to kill Donald Trump.” He continues, “I mean I’m going to obtain a conviction rendered by a jury of his peers at a standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt based on evidence, presented at a trial conducted in accordance with the requirements of due process, resulting in a sentence, duly executed, of capital punishment.”

Journalist Collin Rugg responded to Forhan’s warped death wish for the president by saying, “They’re not even trying to hide it anymore.” The Libs of TikTok did some digging on Forhan and found out that when Charlie Kirk was assassinated, he posted, “F*** Charlie Kirk.” Forhan’s opponent for attorney general, Keith Faber, stressed that “Elliot Forhan is not qualified to be attorney general” based on his “vile comments.”

Other posts made by Forhan include, “Abolish and prosecute ICE,” and “Stand up. Fight back. Stop Trump’s war on our cities and on our country.”

Previously Forhan served one term in the Ohio House of Representatives, but “he was stripped of his committee assignments and lost access to his office following reported altercations with colleagues.”

What can be said about a man like Elliot Forhan? His words reveal it all. This liberal lunatic is in need of some serious counseling. The rants and threats of the Left are becoming a daily occurrence, which means we must counter the lies, and pray for the truth to overcome every deception. We must also pray for those who are caught up in the cycle of fostering division and hate.

Lord Jesus, each week the lies get bigger and bolder. Thankfully, You are the one who can break through the chaos and confusion, bringing clarity and peace to any situation. Help our nation to see the truth and reject the lies of the enemy.

The deep state: does it exist and what is it? | RT – Podcasts by RT

So many on the American Left call it a right-wing trope. Others say that it’s the real power in Washington, a permanent power that transcends presidential administrations. John Kiriakou can tell you that the Deep State is real… because he was a part of it. It exists. It is real. And it controls a lot more of your life and your government than you may even want to know. So, is there a way to combat it? Can we actually have a democracy while it exists? And how badly will the Deep State react when and if it is seriously challenged? Join John Kiriakou on this episode of The Whistleblowers as he discuss all of this and more with his guest and former CIA analyst Larry Johnson.

Trump unloads on ‘radical left’ as he stands by Kristi Noem amid immigration enforcement unrest | FOX news

President Donald Trump offered renewed support for Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem on Friday, saying she has done a “great job” amid ongoing nationwide immigration protests.

In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump accused “radical left” activists of targeting Noem while touting what he described as historic gains in border security and public safety under his administration.

“The Radical Left Lunatics, Insurrectionists, Agitators, and Thugs, are going after Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security, because she is a woman, and has done a really GREAT JOB!” Trump wrote Friday evening. “The Border disaster that I inherited is fixed, the violent criminals that were allowed into our Country through Sleepy Joe’s ‘sick’ Open Border Policy, are largely gone, or being strongly sought for purposes of removal, and the Murder Rate in the USA just reached the lowest level in history, 125 years!”

In a separate post, Trump praised border czar Tom Homan for doing a “FANTASTIC JOB” after sending him to Minneapolis this week to replace Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino. Trump has suggested Bovino did not adequately oversee the state’s immigration crackdown.

MINNESOTA SHAKEUP SHIFTS LEADERSHIP NOT STRATEGY, WHITE HOUSE SAYS, PUSHING BACK ON ‘RETREAT’ CLAIM

Trump’s comments come as Noem faces mounting criticism following the fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good during immigration enforcement operations by federal agents in Minneapolis.

Several prominent Democrats have recently called for her removal as DHS secretary, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., along with other House Democrats, are threatening impeachment proceedings if Noem is not “fired immediately.”

Republican Sens. Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska have also publicly urged her removal.

On Friday, several University of Minnesota student groups led what they dubbed a “National Shutdown” in protest of federal immigration enforcement, with activists joining from across the country.

Trump accused Democrats of using protests as a distraction from what he alleged were widespread financial crimes involving billions of dollars in public funds.

“Republicans, don’t let these Crooked Democrats, who are stealing Billions of Dollars from Minnesota, and other Cities and States from all over the Country, push you around,” he wrote. “They are using this aggressive protest SCAM to obfuscate, camouflage, and hide their CRIMINAL ACTS of theft and insurrection. They should all be in jail.”

FEDERAL COURT RULES NOEM TERMINATING TEMPORARY PROTECTED STATUS FOR VENEZUELANS IN US WAS ILLEGAL

The president’s latest message of support for Noem follows confirmation Tuesday that he has no plans to ask her to step down from her role.

“Is Kristi Noem going to step down?” a reporter asked.

“No,” Trump responded.

Noem addressed calls for her ouster in an interview Thursday on “Hannity,” saying “radicals” were targeting her.

“These radicals are attacking me, but I’m just doing my job. I’m following the law, enforcing the laws like President Trump promised that he would do to keep people safe in this country,” she said.

Utilities want $31 billion more from customers, and your electric bill is about to feel it | Businesses Insider

Electric and gas utilities asked state regulators to approve billions in rate increases.dowell/Getty Images

  • Electric and gas utilities sought to raise customer bills by 31% in 2025.
  • Rate hike requests last year more than doubled from 2024.
  • Utilities are on track to spend $1.1 trillion expanding the power grid by 2029.

The average American’s skyrocketing electric bill has caught the attention of everyone from President Donald Trump to Microsoft executives — just don’t expect lower rates in 2026.

Electric and gas utilities asked state regulators to approve $31 billion in rate increases last year, more than double the $15 billion they sought in 2024, a new study from PowerLines, a nonprofit that advocates for utility customers, found.

The surge in requests from utilities to tack on additional charges to customer bills comes as Big Tech companies continue their sweeping buildout of power-hungry AI data centers across the country. Many utilities have attributed rate increases to unprecedented demand from data centers.

While some of those requests are still pending approval, many — including the majority of a $9 billion increase for customers of one Florida power company — have been pushed through and will start showing up on customer bills this year.

“Gas and electricity are the two fastest drivers of inflation, and not by a little bit more. It’s significantly more than what we’re used to seeing,” said Charles Hua, founder and executive director of PowerLines.

To track rate hikes, PowerLines used publicly available data from investor-owned utilities in the US.

Customers in southern states were hit hardest by rate-hike requests last year, PowerLines found. Utilities in the region sought approval for more than $14 billion in rate increases. Much of that came from Florida Power and Light’s $9 billion rate hike request — nearly all of which regulators approved.

FPL cited population growth and extreme weather events as key factors in its decision to raise rates by such a significant amount.

In Virginia, residential customers of Dominion Energy, which also delivers power to the world’s largest data center hub, will see their bills increase by an average of $13.60 by 2027.

Investor-owned utilities in the US are on track to spend $1.1 trillion on a massive expansion of the power grid between 2025 and 2029, according to the Edison Electric Institute, a powerful industry lobbying group. It has cited data centers and AI as key drivers of utility spending.

The majority of residential ratepayers in the US are customers of investor-owned utilities like NextEra Energy, Duke Energy, and Southern Company. These large, publicly traded companies turn a profit for shareholders by recovering the costs of constructing new power plants and lines, plus interest, from their customer bases.

Big Tech’s power usage faces growing backlash

Big Tech and its enormous appetite for power are facing growing public backlash.

Earlier this month, Microsoft said it would be a “good neighbor” and “pay its own way” for the electricity it uses as it scales its AI data center fleet.

In a Truth Social post preceding Microsoft’s announcement, Trump said his administration will work with tech companies to ensure their data center electricity consumption won’t drive up bills for everyone else.

“I never want Americans to pay higher electricity bills because of data centers,” Trump said in the post.

Power demand forecasts

Some power grid researchers are skeptical of the forecast demand. They have warned that utilities risk overbuilding new power plants and transmission lines that will have to be paid for but ultimately won’t be needed.

Hua is pushing regulators to take a closer look at forecast power demand from utilities, which stand to profit from building new infrastructure that could lead to rate hikes. Steering utilities to first consider the latest electric grid-enhancing technologies before building new power plants to serve data centers could also help lower customer electric bills, Hua said.

“Utilities don’t profit on making the grid more efficient. They are constantly trying to build new infrastructure. That’s their job,” said Hua. “This moment is the perfect justification.”

Deputy AG Blanche: DOJ Opened Civil Rights Investigation Into CBP Shooting Death of Alex Pretti; Also Investigating Left Wing Groups Behind Anti-ICE Harassment Campaign | The Gateway Pundit

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche told reporters Friday at a press conference about a new batch of documents being released from the Epstein Files that the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division has opened an investigation into the shooting death last Saturday in Minneapolis of anti-ICE activist Alex Pretti.

A group of individuals engaged in a physical altercation on a street, with nearby vehicles and storefronts visible in the background.
Screen image.

Blanche also have a short, “yes,” response when asked in the context of the Pretti shooting, “Are you looking at a nexus of left-wing groups? This DOJ said that that’s something that you guys were concerned about. Are you following money? Are you looking at a potential that all of this may be related somewhere?”

Blanche replied, “I mean, yes.”

Pretti, 37, was shot and killed while filming and resisting arrest after assaulting a CBP agent during an immigration enforcement operation. Pretti was armed with a handgun and backup ammunition. As several agents tried to pin a struggling Pretti down, the gun was discovered in his rear waistband and removed by an agent a moment before two other agents opened fire on him.

A nationwide argument has erupted over whether the shooting death of Pretti was justified, with Democrats using the incident to try to block funding for ICE and Homeland Security in an effort to cripple immigration enforcement.

Blanche was asked questions about the Pretti shooting at different points in the press conference. When asked where were the agents’ guns used in the shooting as well as Pretti’s cellphone, Blanche said he did not know.

Blanche also said the newly discovered video of Pretti acting violently at an earlier action against ICE would not change the investigation. Pretti was recorded spitting, screaming and cursing at agents before kicking and destroying a tail light on a federal vehicle while carrying a concealed gun in his waistband. In a situation similar to that which led to his death, agents swarmed Pretti but that time he was able to fight them off and elude arrest.

When asked whether a similar civil rights investigation was being done for the ICE shooting death of anti-ICE activist Renee Good after she hit an agent with her car, Blanch explained that not every officer involved shooting warrants a civil rights investigation.

Video clips of Blanche commenting on the Pretti investigation:

When asked if the Justice Department has opened a civil rights investigation into the death of Alex Pretti, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said, “Yes.”

Q: Where the guns? Are they in the FBI’s possession? And who has the phone that Pretti used to film?

BLANCHE: I don’t know. I don’t have answers to those questions.

Senate Votes 71-29 to Pass Revised Government Funding Package | The Gateway Pundit

The Senate on Friday evening voted 71-29 to pass a revised $1.2 trillion funding package that will partially fund the government until September 30.

The bill will now head to the House.

The House is in recess until Monday, so the government will partially shut down over the weekend.

The Democrats and President Trump will have two weeks to negotiate the Homeland Security appropriations bill.

The Hill reported:

The Senate voted overwhelmingly Friday to pass a major funding package consisting of five regular appropriations bills and a two-week stopgap measure for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) but the legislation won’t become law before parts of the government shut down at midnight.

The 71-29 vote caps a week of Senate drama after a Border Patrol agent shot and killed 37-year-old nurse Alex Pretti in Minneapolis on Saturday, sparking a public backlash against the tactics of federal immigration enforcement officers and pushing Democrats to oppose the DHS funding bill that was part of a six-bill funding package.

Democrats vowed to block the entire funding package that had been carefully negotiated over months between Republican and Democratic members of the Appropriations Committee, putting Congress on course for what some lawmakers feared would be another prolonged government shutdown.

But senators managed to save the funding package by negotiating a last-minute deal with the White House to split off the Homeland Security appropriations bill from the five other spending measures funding the departments of Defense, Health and Human Services, Transportation and State, among others.

Don Lemon, Other Activists Arrested for Disrupting Church Service in St. Paul | Harbingers Daily »

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the arrest of former CNN anchor Don Lemon “in connection with the coordinated attack on Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.”

Lemon defended entering the church with activists and filming the disruption, invoking the First Amendment and saying, “We did an act of journalism.”

Also arrested, after being indicted by a federal grand jury, were pro-illegal alien activists Trahern Jeen Crews, Jamael Lydell Lundy and Georgia Fort.

Crews, co-founder of Black Lives Matter Minnesota, lost a bid for the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2018. Lundy, a candidate for the state’s Senate, is an attorney working for the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.

Fort is an independent journalist who posted video of her arrest on Facebook. Like Lemon, she said she only filmed the church protest as a member of the press, claiming that her constitutional rights were violated by the arrest.

The four arrests followed those of three radical activists on January 22, Nekima Levy Armstrong, Chauntyll Louisa Allen and William Kelly. The three organized “Operation Pullup,” with a mob of 30-40 people storming the church, screaming at the congregation and traumatizing adults and children.

Lemon entered the church to film the invasion, posting the video on his YouTube channel and stating: “We’re not part of the activists, but we’re here just reporting on them… This is what the First Amendment is about – about the freedom to protest.”

After criticisms for his actions, Lemon posted another video on Instagram defending himself: “The MAGA administration and the fake news MAGAs are losing their mind over something that’s not even true. So let me just make it clear … I have no affiliation to that organization [that invaded the church]. I didn’t even know they were going to this church until we followed them there. We were there chronicling the protests. Once the protests started in the church, we did an act of journalism, which was report on it and talk to the people who were involved, which included the pastor, members of the church and members of the organization. That’s it. It’s called journalism. First Amendment.”

Department of Homeland Security Special Agent Timothy Gerber filed the criminal complaint in the first three arrests, of Armstrong, Allen and Kelly. The affidavit states that the activists “disrupted the religious service and intimidated, harassed, oppressed, and terrorized the parishioners, including young children.”

Some congregation members of Cities Church fled through a side door. One woman slipped, suffering a broken arm.

Gerber quoted testimony from parishioners: “Victim 2 advised the [St. Paul Police Department] that ‘they were terrorized, our children were weeping, college students and young women were sobbing, it was impactful and it will take time to work through. … Victim 4 informed agents that members of their parish attempted to retrieve their children from the childcare area located downstairs, but the agitators were blocking the stairs, and the parents were unable to get to their children. … Victim 6 recalled people shouting and running, children crying, as well as people singing and praying. Victim 6 recalled KELLY screaming ‘Nazi’ in people’s faces, in addition to confronting children saying, ‘Do you know your parents are Nazis? They’re going to burn in hell.”

Our First Amendment guarantees freedom of the press, assembly, speech and to petition the government. But the First Amendment also protects freedom of religion – our First Freedom, and it does not give activists the right to invade a church and disrupt worshippers exercising that freedom. In fact, federal law (under the FACE Act) prohibits it.

Lemon and Gort both claim that they were only participating in the protest as journalists, simply recording the event. It remains to be seen what the courts will decide about their involvement in the church invasion.
