After that 2025 post, I wrote about the resurrection appearance to James, Jesus’ brother. The next post discussed a resurrection appearance to another brother of Jesus, Jude. After that, I responded to the suggestion that the early corroboration of the empty tomb by non-Christian sources doesn’t have much significance, since they may have corroborated it out of apathy. They uncritically accepted what Christians told them. I then discussed the value of reading 1 Corinthians 15 with chapter 16 in mind. The sort of polymodal interactions described in chapter 16 likely characterized the resurrection appearances mentioned in chapter 15, meaning that more than sight was involved. I also addressed the skeptical appeal to other miracle claims (Marian apparitions, the miracles associated with the Salem Witch Trials, etc.) to argue against Jesus’ resurrection. My next post discussed different approaches to take when arguing for Jesus’ resurrection, such as arguing for individual resurrection accounts. After that, I addressed how much the early sources agree about the timespan involved in the resurrection appearances. Then I addressed the significance of the fact that only one appearance to Paul was reported. I also wrote about how the diversity of sources involved with early Christianity provides additional evidence for the empty tomb. My next post discussed some evidence for the resurrection accounts from Jesus’ use of mountains. Another post commented on Galatians 1:23 and the significance of the appearance to Paul. I discussed a new book on 1 Corinthians 15, a book that addresses the physicality of Paul’s view of the resurrection and other issues relevant to Easter. Later, I wrote about Josephus’ potential sources for his information on Jesus, including individuals Josephus knew who had close connections to Jesus’ trial. I then discussed how Justin Martyr’s comments on early Jewish reactions to Christianity supplement our information related to Josephus. I linked a discussion Michael Flowers had with Joshua Pearsall about Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53. I also posted about some new research on the darkness that occurred at the time of Jesus’ crucifixion. I later wrote a few posts addressing Psalm 22 and Jesus’ fulfillment of it. The first discussed how the closing verses of the psalm favor a Christian interpretation. The next post was about whether Psalm 22 should be considered Messianic and how much significance that issue has. I also addressed the objection that the psalm is too vague. That was followed by a collection of links to several posts making a cumulative case for a Christian interpretation of Psalm 22. I then responded to a discussion of the resurrection between Mike Licona and Dale Allison. The discussion addressed the occasions in the gospels when the resurrected Jesus wasn’t recognized, Matthew 27:52-53, non-Christian miracles, and some other issues.

When Missions Go Wrong: Syncretism, Secrets, and the Beyond Organization | Holly Pivec

A revealing interview with former Beyond missionaries Aaron and Chelsea Hunter

I wanted to share with you an important two-part interview I released recently, with former Beyond missionaries Aaron and Chelsea Hunter. We delve into concerning trends on the missions field that are not generally known or often discussed. Many of those trends are directly related to the unbiblical “hearing God’s voice” teachings, which are central to Beyond and other organizations that are part of the popular “Church Planting Movements.” (The term “Church Planting Movements” is telling lingo to watch out for—we explain why in the interview.)

Many viewers have found the interview eye-opening. Here are some of the comments I’ve received from listeners.

“Unbelievable how largely deceptive this is.”

“Thank you for sharing your experiences and how this popular teaching of listening prayer is so destructive. I’m so sorry that you went through this but so thankful that the Lord brought your beautiful family out.”

“Very similar to what happened to me. This is encouraging. Thank you for telling your story.”

“Wow. This is just awful. Sure, there will always be some theological differences between believers until the Lord returns, but jettisoning the determination to hold steadfastly to the Bible’s teachings could well be a fast-track to becoming a pseudo-Christian cult.”

“What a lovely couple, well-spoken, they have much to offer in sharing their experience and warn others of the NAR deception. May God use them mightily!”

I encourage you to take a listen. Below are links to Part 1 and Part 2.

Watch Both Parts 1 and 2 to learn about:

  • The perceived tension between “theological purity” vs. “reaching the nations.”
  • The dangers of “Listening Prayer” and New Apostolic Reformation influence on the mission field.
  • Why some organizations allow “converts” to continue to worship in mosques or give gifts to idols.
  • Why missionaries are being instructed to hide syncretistic practices from their sending churches and financial supporters.
  • How fast-tracking missions efforts results in unqualified missionaries on the field.
  • How some missionary training models have integrated a version of Discovery Bible Studies that shift the focus from the objective meaning of the biblical text to subjective internal impressions.
  • Advice for churches and aspiring missionaries on how to select sound missions organizations to partner with.

Dangers of “Hearing God’s Voice” on the Mission Field: with Aaron and Chelsea Hunter (Pt. 1)

Why would an enthusiastic, committed missionary couple walk away from their life’s work?

In this deep-dive, two-part interview, Aaron and Chelsea Hunter share their jarring experience with the missions organization Beyond.

They reveal how the pressures to “hear God’s voice” and document numerical growth have led to a “Jesus Hermeneutic” that replaces sound doctrine with subjective impressions; they also explain why they believe these “Church Planting Movements” are hindering the gospel and world missions.

Dangers of “Hearing God’s Voice” on the Mission Field: with Aaron and Chelsea Hunter (Pt. 2)

Is modern missions work inadvertently hindering the gospel?

In Part 2 of our deep dive, former Beyond missionaries Aaron and Chelsea—who were accused by the organization’s leadership of being “unteachable”—share their firsthand experiences with the “Church Planting Movement” (CPM) strategy and the controversial “Insider Movements” that allow for religious syncretism.

We discuss how the pressure to “hear from God” and meet artificial deadlines, like the 2025 goal, is resulting in unqualified leadership and the compromise of sound Christian doctrine. If you’re a missionary, a church supporter, or interested in the future of global evangelism, this conversation is a must-listen.

He Is Our Peace — The Power of His Presence

Large Ancient Amphitheater at Ephesis

For he himself is our peace…

Ephesians 2:14a

This is not mere doctrine. If you are having a conflict with anybody, this is the way of peace: For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one. Paul starts with a definition of what true peace really is. True peace is oneness. It is not merely the cessation of hostility, the absence of conflict; it means being one. Anything else is superficial and temporary and highly unsatisfactory. You know this to be true. You have made peace on superficial terms and have found it only external. If you merely agree not to fight, it is not peace. And invariably it results in a new outbreak, with all the previous animosity surging to the surface once again. This is why what we call peace among nations never lasts–because it isn’t really peace. It isn’t oneness at all. It is only a weariness with warfare, an agreement to stop it for awhile until we can all recuperate and rearm. Then it breaks out all over again, because nothing is ever settled.

But here the apostle tells us the secret of peace. The secret of oneness is a Person: he himself is our peace. And when Christ Jesus makes peace–between individuals or between nations–that peace will be a satisfying, permanent, and genuine peace. ‘What Paul is saying is that in order to live at peace, you must have peace. The problem with most of us is that we want to start by clearing up only the results of conflict. God never starts there; He starts with the person. He says peace is a Person, and in order for you to live at peace with someone else, you must be at peace with the Person of Christ. If you have His peace, then you can start solving the conflict around you. But you never can do it on any other basis. So the place to start, the origin of peace, is the settling of any problems between you and Jesus Christ.

Many people come to me with various problems involving conflict. Usually they are upset, troubled, discouraged, or angry. They report all the terrible things the other person has done and all the reasons they are justified in being so angry. I listen to it all, and then I say to them, Yes, you’ve got a problem. But that isn’t your only problem. You really have two problems. And the one you haven’t mentioned at all is the one you must start with. Then I point out to them that their basic problem is that they don’t have any peace themselves. They are upset, angry, and emotionally distraught. And everything they do is colored by that emotional state. And it is impossible to solve the problem until they themselves acquire peace.

But this is the promise of God to Christians: He is our peace. And once their attitude is changed, once their heart is settled, once they have put the matter into the hands of the Lord and they see that He is active in it, that He has a solution, and their own heart is therefore at peace, then they can begin to understand what is happening and can apply some intelligent remedies to the situation that will work out the problem. There is profound psychological insight in the fact that the apostle begins with the declaration that Christ is our peace. He alone can accomplish it.

Father, thank You for the access I have to You. Help me to believe the message of peace and thus to enter into the joy and peace of life with You.

The Seven Seals | Today in the Word

Sunday, March 08 | Revelation 6
On the Go? Listen Now!
In 2004, a devastating tsunami swept across the Indian Ocean at the speed of a jet airplane. A train in Sri Lanka was driven off the tracks. A boat off the shore of Thailand was thrown more than a mile inland. Triggered by a magnitude-9.1 earthquake, the tsunami killed nearly 250,000 people.Natural disasters give us an idea of the catastrophic scenes recorded by John in his vision. In today’s chapter, the Tribulation begins as six of the seven seals are opened. The first four seals reveal the “four horsemen of the apocalypse”—conquest, war, famine or economic disaster, and Death (Zech. 6:1–7). First is a white horse with a rider who is given a bow for conquest (vv. 1–2). Next is a red horse with a rider who is given a sword to take peace from the earth (vv. 3–4). Next is a black horse with a rider who is given scales or balances, representing hunger and poverty (vv. 5–6). Finally, there is a pale horse whose rider is Death itself (vv. 7–8). The color “pale” is best thought of as the color of a corpse. Death is allowed to kill one-quarter of the world’s population. When the fifth seal is opened, there is a pause in the action (vv.  9–11). Christian martyrs call for justice, lamenting, “How long?” They’re told to wait but assured that the time is drawing near. This scene no doubt provided encouragement to persecuted believers in John’s day and has done so throughout history. Finally, the sixth seal is opened and, in the words of the Moody Bible Commentary, the world experiences “cosmic upheaval” (vv. 12–17). Though sinners recognize God’s wrath, they do not repent or seek His mercy, but instead foolishly try to hide or escape.

March 8 Evening Verse of the Day

  1. “I sought the Lord, and he heard me.” It must have been in a very confused manner that David prayed, and there must have been much of self-sufficiency in his prayer, or he would not have resorted to methods of such dubious morality as pretending to be mad and behaving as a lunatic; yet his poor limping prayer had an acceptance and brought him succour: the more reason for them celebrating the abounding mercy of the Lord. We may seek God even when we have sinned. If sin could blockade the mercy-seat it would be all over with us, but the mercy is that there are gifts even for the rebellious, and an advocate for men who sin. “And delivered me from all my fears.” God makes a perfect work of it. He clears away both our fears and their causes, all of them without exception. Glory be to his name, prayer sweeps the field, slays all the enemies and even buries their bones. Note the egoism of this verse and of those preceding it; we need not blush to speak of ourselves when in so doing we honestly aim at glorifying God, and not at exalting ourselves. Some are foolishly squeamish upon this point, but they should remember that when modesty robs God it is most immodest.

Spurgeon, C. H. (n.d.). The treasury of David: Psalms 27-57 (Vol. 2, p. 123). Marshall Brothers.

Ver. 4. I sought the Lord, and He heard me.—The reasonableness of prayer:—
I. WHAT THE HEAD, LEFT TO ITSELF, THINKS ABOUT PRAYER. The head, discerning only the externality of it, sees man, the creature, venturing to go into the presence of Jehovah the Creator, and ask to have just what he may wish for. That is “prayer” as many seem to apprehend it. And the apprehension is so limited, and so imperfect, we cannot wonder it should occasion difficulty. Half the trouble is gone when we have worthily stated what prayer is. It is the act of acknowledged dependence. To connect every thought with the thought of God. To look on everything as His work and appointment. To submit every wish, thought, and resolve, to Him. That is prayer. And if that be the essence and life of prayer, and we can lay firm hold of it, then we are lifted into a serene region of calm, above the tempest that rages over such things as the possibilities of answer, and the relation of prayer to law. What does the head say about prayer? It says—

  1. Prayer is not unreasonable. Admit that there is a God on whom we are all dependent, and every one will be found willing to acknowledge that no act is more proper and reasonable than that in which we seek Divine favour and blessing. The Theist, who prides himself on the guidance of reason, speaks eloquently of prayer.
  2. The head is fully willing to recognize the fact that, in all ages, and in all climes, men have been moved by the impulse to prayer. Everywhere man has felt the presence of One higher than himself, and has turned yearning eyes toward Him.
  3. The head finds no serious objection to urge against the abstract statement that God can hear and answer prayer. If He be God indeed, and if He did create us, reason can find no ground for denying that, in His Divine arrangements, God may consider the feelings and wishes of His creatures, as well as their positive needs. The matter of prayer may be presented so that our minds cannot but find serious objections and difficulties. Sometimes it seems to be expected that by prayer we may change the order of the outward universe. We have even seen statements which assume that prayer is the means by which “our wish determines God’s will.” Against either of these representations the head properly stumbles.
II. WHAT THE HEAD, GUIDED BY THE HEART, THINKS ABOUT PRAYER. The text is a heart-inspired utterance. The heart-guided head says—
  4. If God be a Father He must be a prayer-hearer. If He does not, He cannot be true to His name. Fatherhood pledges fatherly interest. If is the most simple and necessary thing that we, as children, should pray. It is the essential of His relation to us that God our Father should hear.
  5. If God has promised, He surely knows how to perform.
  6. The heart—guided head learns to set prayer in its proper limitations.
  7. And, listening to all the objections urged against prayer, it quietly but firmly replies, “You cannot argue me out of the facts and experiences of my life. This I know, ‘I sought the Lord, and He heard me’; and I shall go on praying, for I have proved the power of prayer.” It is enough. We believe in the power of prayer. We see the glory of a praying life. (R. Tuck, B.A.)

34:4 When the Spirit of God begins to brood over the soul of the sinner, He implants in it a divine instinct to seek the LORD. Only later does the saved sinner realize that it was the Lord who was the original Seeker! It is as the hymn says:

I sought the Lord, and afterward I knew
He moved my soul to seek Him, seeking me;
It was not I that found, O Savior true.
No, I was found of Thee.

—Anonymous

Still, when we seek Him He answers, delivering us from all our fears—the fear of the unknown future, the fear of dying with our sins unconfessed and unforgiven, the fear of standing before the Judgment of the Great White Throne. When we trust Christ as Lord and Savior we hear His words of absolution: “Your sins are forgiven; go in peace!”

Pruning for Fruit-Bearing | VCY

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. (John 15:2)

This is a precious promise to one who lives for fruitfulness. At first it seems to wear a sharp aspect. Must the fruitful bough be pruned? Must the knife cut even the best and most useful? No doubt it is so, for very much of our Lord’s purging work is done by means of afflictions of one kind or another. It is not the evil but the good who have the promise of tribulation in this life. But, then, the end makes more than full amends for the painful nature of the means. If we may bring forth more fruit for our Lord, we will not mind the pruning and the loss of leafage.

Still, purging is sometimes wrought by the Word apart from trial, and this takes away whatever appeared rough in the flavor of the promise. We shall by the Word be made more gracious and more useful. The Lord who has made us, in a measure, fruit-bearing, will operate upon us till we reach a far higher degree of fertility. Is not this a great joy? Truly there is more comfort in a promise of fruitfulness than if we had been warranted riches, or health, or honor.

Lord Jesus, speedily fulfill Thy gracious word to me and cause me to abound in fruit to Thy praise!

From unclean to pure lips | Elizabeth Prata

By Elizabeth Prata

Do you ever feel like such a terrible sinner that the very words of repentance and sorrow pouring from your lips in prayer to heaven is a blot on the name of Jesus?

But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ (Luke 18:13)

I can relate to Isaiah (the lips part, not actually seeing the LORD!)

Then I said, “Woe to me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of armies.”” (Isaiah 6:5).

But then in His Day He will purify our lips and when we praise Him we will be clean! Imagine praising Him from pure lips!

“For then I will restore to the peoples pure lips, So that all of them may call on the name of the LORD, To serve Him shoulder to shoulder.” (Zephaniah 3:9)

Heidelberg Catechism: ‘How does holy baptism signify and seal to you that the one sacrifice of Christ on the cross benefits you?’ | Our Reformed Christian Heritage

LORD’S DAY 26

69. How does holy baptism signify and seal to you that the one sacrifice of Christ on the cross benefits you?

In this way: that Christ has instituted this outward washing with water,1 and has joined with it this promise, that as surely as I am washed outwardly with water, whereby commonly the filthiness of the body is taken away, so certainly I am washed with His blood and Spirit from the pollution of my soul, that is, from all my sins.2

1 Mt 28:19; 2 Mt 3:11; Mk 16:16; Jn 1:33; Acts 2:38; Rom 6:3-4; 1 Pt 3:21

70. What does it mean to be washed with the blood and Spirit of Christ?

It is to have the forgiveness of sins from God, through grace, because of Christ’s blood, which He shed for us in His sacrifice on the cross;1 and also, to be renewed by the Holy Spirit, and sanctified to be members of Christ, that so we may more and more die to sin, and lead holy and blameless lives.2

1 Ezek 36:25; Zech 13:1; Eph 1:7; Heb 12:24; 1 Pt 1:2; Rev 1:5, 7:14; 2 Jn 3:5-8; Rom 6:4; 1 Cor 6:11; Col 2:11-12

71. Where has Christ promised that He will wash us with His blood and Spirit as surely as we are washed with the water of Baptism?

In the institution of baptism, where He says, “Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”“He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that does not believe shall be damned.”2 This promise is also repeated where the Scripture calls baptism “the washing of regeneration” and “the washing away of sins.”3

If I’m Dead to Sin, Why Do I Still Struggle with Sin? | Crossway

Sanctification

I once heard an older pastor reflecting on his life and ministry. He had recently turned seventy, and someone asked him if anything surprised him about crossing that milestone. Without hesitating, this senior saint answered, “I thought I’d be more sanctified by now.”

I wonder if you’ve ever thought the same thing.

After all, the New Testament says some striking things about our relationship with sin. In Christ, we have been delivered from sin’s penalty. Through his once-for-all sacrifice, Jesus paid the price our sins deserved and bore the wrath we should have faced (Heb. 9:25–28). Covering us with his perfect righteousness, he made us righteous (2 Cor. 5:21). In Christ, we are no longer guilty in God’s sight.

Also, in Christ, we have been delivered from sin’s power. Imagine a medieval castle with high walls, a drawbridge, and a moat. A hostile army approaches, but it can’t get in. But then, tragically, someone inside the city lowers the bridge and opens the gate, allowing the enemy to rush inside. This is what happened in the garden of Eden. Adam opened the door, and sin broke into the world. “Sin came into the world through one man” (Rom. 5:12).

And having entered the world, sin began to reign (Rom. 5:21). We see the evidence of sin’s reign all around us. Sin is the cause of every bit of disease, disaster, discord, decay, and death that plagues us. Creation itself groans in its bondage to corruption (Rom. 8:20–22).

And sin’s throne is firmly fixed within the human heart.

We know this, even if it’s hard to admit. Our hearts are deceptive and “desperately sick” (Jer. 17:9). Out of our hearts flows a whole host of evils (Matt. 15:19). No one needs to teach us pride, selfishness, anger, or lust. These things come naturally to us because sin rules over us.

But when we come into union with Christ, a new ruler takes the throne. None of us had the power to overthrow sin’s tyrannical reign. We were slaves to sin, but Christ came and set us free (John 8:34–36; Rom. 6:20–22). Jesus stormed the castle of our hearts, kicked sin off the throne, and established his rule. He causes us to be born again and gives us a new life empowered by the Holy Spirit to flee from temptation and pursue godliness (Gal. 5:16).

This change is so dramatic, Scripture says that we have “died to sin” (Rom. 6:2).

But this leads to a question often raised by discouraged believers. It goes something like this: If I am dead to sin, why do I still struggle with sin? If my captivity to sin’s tyranny is over, why do I still give in to sin’s demands?

The answer is that although sin’s penalty has been paid and sin’s power has been defeated, sin’s presence remains in the life of every believer. And until this life is done, sin will continue to tempt us.

Indwelling Sin and Ongoing Temptation

When Christ saves us, he knocks sin off the throne of our hearts and takes his rightful place as Lord of our lives. Yet it’s important for us to remember that while sin is a defeated enemy, sin remains an ever-present enemy. And until its dying breath, this enemy will continue to allure us and entice us, by stirring up twisted desires within us (James 1:14).

This is the painful reality of indwelling sin. And this is why Paul urges Christians in Romans 6:12, “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions.”

Think about that word “passion.” Why do we sin? If we know something is wrong—if we know the pain it can inflict on others, the shame it can lay on us, and the dishonor it can bring to the Lord—why do it? Why does temptation come to us with so much power?

Here’s the truth, if we’re honest enough to admit it: We sin because we want to. In the moment of temptation, sin looks appealing.

We see this dynamic at play in the world’s first sin. Why did Adam and Eve eat the forbidden fruit? Did they fail to trust God? Yes. Did they listen to Satan? Yes. But they also “saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise” (Gen. 3:6). Adam and Eve sinned because they wanted to. They desired the fruit. Temptation stirred up a passion within them. And they gave in.

Jesus stormed the castle of our hearts, kicked sin off the throne, and established his rule.

Even though we are united to Christ, we sometimes give in too. Until we are released from sin’s presence—until we arrive in heaven—we will continue to feel the pull of sin’s passions. But since we are united with Christ, we can resist these passions with new fervor. We are no longer slaves to sin who are bound to obey what it commands. We are saints in Christ who are blessed to obey all he commands (Ps. 119:1–3).

And the more we walk with Christ and experience that blessing, the more sin will lose its appeal. We can truly say with the Psalmist,

I delight to do your will, O my God;
Your law is within my heart. (Ps. 40:8)

When temptation comes, admit to yourself, “I want to do this! I desire to sin!” Then pray, “Lord, with all the strength that is mine in Christ, help me hold back my feet from every evil way in order to keep your word, for your testimonies are my joy” (cf. Ps. 119:101, 111).

Union with Christ and Unshakeable Hope

Many times, our ongoing struggle with sin is a source of discouragement. But Christians have an unshakeable hope: our union with Christ. As Martyn Lloyd-Jones says, “There is nothing, perhaps, in the whole range and realm of doctrine which, if properly grasped and understood, gives greater assurance, greater comfort, and greater hope than this doctrine of our union with Christ.”1

Why is that true? It’s true because when God brings you into union with Christ, he will not let you out.

In Christ, we are justified—sin’s penalty is paid. In Christ, we are being sanctified—sin’s power is broken. And in Christ, we will be glorified—one day, sin’s presence will be no more. God will complete the good work he has begun in us (Phil. 1:6). Though our striving for holiness is fraught with difficulty and disappointment now, he will sustain us to the end. He will make us pure and blameless, and we will stand before the presence of his glory with great joy (Jude 24).

One day, he will sanctify us completely (1 Thess. 5:23).

So let the doctrine of union with Christ disperse the clouds of doubt and discouragement from your heart. We can rest assured of our salvation because we are united to our Savior.

He set us free from the tyranny of sin, called us to live in service to him, and will not let us go. He is making us fruitful, pruning what is evil from our lives and producing what is good. He has guaranteed our future, promising to bring us through this life and into the glories of the life to come. We are safe and secure in Christ Jesus our Lord.

7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
Trusting in the Lord necessarily implieth also a walking close with him, and not in heart departing from him; for it is naturally impossible that any should repose a confidence in another for any good things, which that other hath promised under any condition, without some satisfaction in himself that he hath in some measure fulfilled the condition upon which the promise is made. But that man that truly trusteth and hopeth in the Lord is and shall be a blessed man.

Biden Tells Majority Black Crowd: ‘I’m A Hell Of A Lot Smarter Than Most Of You’ | ZeroHedge

Authored by Luis Cornelio via Headline USA,

Former President Joe Biden made a rare public appearance Friday and drew criticism over what some observers described as a racially insensitive remark.

Speaking at the funeral of civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson, Biden told attendees — including prominent civil rights figures and other notable guests — “I’m a hell of a lot smarter than most of you.”

Biden made the comment during a roughly 20-minute speech honoring Jackson while recounting a story about his childhood and how he was mocked for having a stutter.

“I, as a kid, was a relatively good athlete and pretty good student, but I stuttered — to talk like that,” Biden said, while mimicking his childhood stutter.

The crowd responded with laughter.

“Now, if I told you all earlier, when I was a kid, I had a cleft palate or club foot, none of you would have laughed,” Biden continued.

“But it’s okay to laugh at stuttering. I’m not being critical of you, but think about it. It’s the one place where people think you’re stupid. Oh, really? I’m a hell of a lot smarter than most of you.”

Biden then added, “All kidding aside, it makes you feel really small. It makes you feel really small.”

On X, some conservative critics pointed out that Biden made the remark while speaking at the funeral of a civil rights leader before a crowd that included several well-known black leaders and public figures.

Among those in attendance were former President Barack Obama, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Other notable black figures present included filmmaker and actor Tyler Perry, leftist activist Cornel West, NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas and singer Jennifer Hudson.

Several other political figures also attended the funeral, including former President Bill Clinton, twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Illinois Gov. J. B. Pritzker and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Notably, Gavin Newsom also came under fire last week after telling a crowd in Atlanta — a predominantly black city — that he was “just like you” because he had received a below-average SAT score.

CNN’s Harry Enten: President Trump’s Political Endorsements are ‘Gold’ Because ‘His Own Party Supporters Love Him More Than Any President at This Point’ (Video) | The Gateway Pundit

Graphic comparing party approval ratings of Presidents Bush, Obama, and Trump during their second terms, highlighting Trump's 86% approval.
Image: Video screenshot via @ForecasterEnten/X

CNN’s Senior Data Reporter, Harry Enten, shared recently polling showing that President Trump’s political endorsements are ‘gold’ because he is more loved by his own party than any other president at this point.

Harry Enten: You know, Trump’s yesterday, on Truth Social, essentially said, ‘When I endorse, it’s a very big deal because the people that I endorse, the endorseees, almost always win.’

And as it turns out, the President is correct on this. He is a GOAT when it comes to Republican primaries. He’s a Tom Brady. He is a Babe Ruth.

Because take a look here. Times Trump endorsees won GOP primaries-Congressional and Gubernatorial Races, 98% in 2020, 95% in 2022, and then 96% in 2024.

Now, I will note that oftentimes he endorses incumbents, and those folks don’t necessarily have very hard challenges. But even when he endorses challengers against incumbents, the challengers win a majority of the time.

His endorsement, President Trump’s endorsement, is as good as gold in Republican primaries.

John Berman: You compare it to Tom Brady. He actually does better than Tom. Tom Brady lost a few Super Bowls stunningly. Donald Trump almost never loses when he endorses in a primary because… Why?

Harry Enten: Why? Because Republicans love Donald Trump more than any President’s own party supporters loved him at this particular point.

Just take a look here. Okay, own party supporters. 21st century President’s own party approval about at this point in the second term. Bush was at 77%. Obama was at 77%.

Look at this- 86 % of Republicans approve of the job that Donald Trump is doing at this point. That is higher than either Obama or Bush had within their own party at this point. Trump’s magic touch has not seen a war-off yet when it comes to the Republican base.

John Berman: And what approval are we talking about here?

Harry Enten: Okay, so we’re talking about overall approval here. How about the strongly approved? The strongly approved, not just like, but love.

Okay, we’re going to look at these same presidents again. Strong approval among your own party’s base. What you see here is Trump is the only one who gets a majority at this point in their presidency.

Obama was at 48%, Bush was at 47%, you see here Trump at 53%, not as high as his overall approval rating, but still getting a majority of the Republican base, at least in the average of polls, to say that they still really, really, really like him.

John Berman: Okay, so the President says he will endorse. He hasn’t said who he will endorse yet, but I bet you the prediction markets have a sense.

Harry Enten: Yeah, there have been rumblings. The prediction markets are hearing rumblings, and they think that it is going to be this man, John Cornyn, who’s the incumbent, who, of course, got more votes in the initial round just on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the chance, according to the Kalshi Prediction Market, that he would be the GOP nominee for Senate in Texas was 24%. Now, on the belief that Trump will endorse, look at that, up like a rock at 85%, and that is because the markets believe what we saw on slide number one, which is Trump’s endorsement, is very, very important.

He’s a G-O-A-T.

John Berman: That increase really only because of the endorsement.

Harry Enten: You got that right.

Hollywood Legend James Woods Leaves Republican Party: “I am Done” | The Gateway Pundit

James Woods smiling at a red carpet event, wearing a black suit and tie, with a neutral background.

Conservative icon and Hollywood legend James Woods has announced he’s ditching the Republican Party.

Woods, a fierce patriot and vocal supporter of President Trump, blasted the “uniparty traitors” in a fiery post on X, declaring, “I am done with the Republican Party.”

Woods’ decision comes amid growing frustration with Senate Republican leadership, particularly cowardly Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), who has continuously stalled the crucial SAVE Act, a bill designed to safeguard American elections by requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration.

Without this measure, Woods warns, the floodgates will remain open for election fraud, illegal aliens pouring in, and the permanent destruction of our republic.

“Between this and Thune’s refusal to pass the SAVE Act, I’m done with these uniparty traitors,” Woods wrote.

“I’m changing my party affiliation to Independent. No wonder President Trump is fighting an uphill battle every day,” added.

Woods has been hammering Thune for weeks, asking who destroyed the GOP more: Paul Ryan or Thune? He praised young warriors like Wesley Hunt, Marco Rubio, and JD Vance as America’s last hope, while calling the old RINOs destroyers.

Without the SAVE Act, Woods predicts disaster:

Without the SAVE Act, we will…

Lose the House in November.

Democrats will nuke the filibuster.

The Senate will be lost within four years.

More Ketanji Browns will be confirmed to the Supreme Court.

Democrats will then cheat a Democrat into the White House.

The border will be opened like a wound. We will be flooded with illegal aliens.

The cheating at the polls will then be irreversible.

Democrats will be a supermajority for decades to come.

Every city and town will look end up looking like every blue city shithole looks now.

America will become a socialist sewer.

OR…

The Senate can dump big corp parasite John Thune, and pass the damn SAVE Act.

Woods is also frustrated with the ongoing dispute inside the GOP over whether to pursue aggressive investigations into Democratic lawmakers.

Woods specifically cited the controversy surrounding Rep. Nancy Mace’s effort to subpoena immigration records connected to Rep. Ilhan Omar, an effort that reportedly failed to gain support from fellow Republicans.

Mace publicly complained that her motion to subpoena the records was killed by spineless RINOs.

“Well, what’s happened so far? I think the remark is always, “Let the process play out.” That’s what they always say—and nothing ever happens. I tried to subpoena her immigration records and her brother-husband’s immigration records, and it was Republicans that killed my motion,” Mace told LindellTV.

She added, “As far as I know, nothing’s going on. Nothing will go on. That’s Congress for you—because both sides protect the other.”

James Woods’ defection is a wake-up call for every true conservative: The Republican Party is infested with traitors. Time to clean house, support real fighters like Trump, and take back our country.

The post Hollywood Legend James Woods Leaves Republican Party: “I am Done” appeared first on The Gateway Pundit.

James Woods: I am done with the Republican Party. Between this and Thune’s refusal to pass the SAVE Act, I’m done with these uniparty traitors.
