Donald Trump is dominating the GOP primary field with the support of 59 percent of surveyed voters, according to a Wall Street Journal poll released Saturday.
The former president holds a 46-point lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to the WSJ, which polled 600 Republican primary voters at the end of August through telephone and web surveys.
The survey found DeSantis down 13 points to Trump in April, before he launched his candidacy, highlighting the governor’s difficulties in attempts to sway Trump voters and reflecting his recent polling troubles elsewhere.
DeSantis’ favorability also fell since the April survey, with the share of respondents that reported a favorable view of him dropping from 84 percent to 70 percent. Trump’s favorability fell from 78 percent to 75 percent between the same two polls.
If the 2024 presidential contest were held today between Trump and Joe Biden, the poll found the two even at 46 percent, with 8 percent saying they were undecided, among a larger survey pool of 1,500 registered voters. Adding in the choice of third-party candidates, the survey has Trump leading Biden 40 percent-39 percent, with the lesser-known third parties collecting single-digit support and 17 percent saying they were undecided.
In the GOP primary beyond the top two candidates, 8 percent of respondents picked former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, 5 percent picked biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, 3 percent chose former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, 2 percent selected former Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) garnered 2 percent.
Haley, Ramaswamy and Christie all grew their share of supporters since the April survey, albeit by single digits.
The poll also found that a large majority of respondents believe Trump’s four indictments, charges ranging from his efforts to overturn the election to improperly storing classified documents, are politically motivated. They all responded that they were aware of the cases, and more than 60 percent said that each case was meritless and politically motivated.
Food and fuel are running low for the tens of thousands of attendees (and tech bros) trapped at the Burning Man festival located in one of the harshest environments on earth (high desert, on a dried-up alkaline lake bed) in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. The Independent confirmed local officials had reported at least one death but have not released details on the suspected cause of death. In July in the States of Missouri and Louisiana, Jim Hoft, et al v. Biden, et al, a federal judge has ordered the President and his agents to stop censoring Americans while the case is pending.

In handing down his order – literally, handed down on the Fourth of July – Trump-appointed, courageous, federal judge Terry A. Doughty (see order here pdf) sent a very direct and powerful message to the US Government: STOP CENSORING AMERICANS – THE FIRST AMENDMENT MATTERS. This landmark Order granting plaintiffs’ motion for a preliminary injunction, gives Americans their first amendment social media rights back on U.S. Independence Day. It is truly one of the most extraordinary victories in the history of First Amendment jurisprudence.
This injunction specifically orders the government to stop censoring Americans, ordering the feds to STOP:
** Pressuring social media companies to remove content they dislike ** Flagging content for censorship to social media companies ** Urging social media companies to change their Terms of Service to further censor Americans ** Communicating with social media companies to censor American’s free speech on politics ** Working with third-party groups to censor American’s free speech ** Threatening social media companies to force them to censor ** Taking any action that would suppress American’s free speech about politics ** Following-up with social media companies about past demands to censor specific Americans’ civil speech ** Demanding reports, statstics, and surveys about the ongoing suppression of American’s free speech on social media platforms ** Notifying social media companies about users, terms, topics that the government doesn’t want too much thinking, talking, or discussion about.
What this courageous judge is admitting is that these things were happening before, chronically, by the Biden administration and even before Biden took office, as well.

The U.S. government has been regularly and chronically suppressing the political speech of its citizens in flagrant violation of the First Amendment. Because of the discovery and depositions in this case, these facts are now admitted by the FBI’s Agent Elvis Chan, war criminal Anthony Fauci, and even members of the State Department.
The Missouri v. Biden case is revealing that the Biden administration’s failed attempt to set up ‘disinformation’ offices in every federal agency was, in reality, a coordinated effort to silence and suppress civil liberties and public discourse permanently.
Judge Doughty showed remarkable courage in issuing this Order. This may be a sign that the normal deference federal judges have for federal power might not be something DOJ can take for granted in this ongoing case. In issuing this landmark Order on the Fourth of July Judge Doughty’s actions make clear in no uncertain terms that he believes the Constitution matters, and that the Freedom of Speech enshrined in the First Amendment, matters – even if our federal overlord tyrants and China Joe do not.
On July 5th, the Department of Justice filed a notice that they intended to appeal Judge Doughty’s decision. If the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals aims to follow the Constitution, then the feds will lose – and lose…bigly.

Burning Man descends into chaos as one person DIES at flooded festival after officials closed gates, ‘trapping’ 73,000 revelers in hypothermic conditions – and told them to conserve water and food
FROM THE DAILY MAIL UK: The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office in northern Nevada said the death happened ‘during this rain event’ but gave few other details as to what the cause was, or the person’s identity. ‘As this death is still under investigation, there is no further information available at this time,’ the sheriff’s office said in a statement on Saturday night.
Tens of thousands of revelers attending the event in the Nevada desert were told to stay put and conserve food and water on Saturday after a massive rainstorm turned the site into a mud pit. The final weekend of the hedonistic event ground to a halt on Friday night as freezing, mud-caked conditions took over but it even led to celebrities like Chris Rock making a bid to escape the deluge.
‘Do not travel to Black Rock City!.’ Burning Man organizers tweeted, referring to the desert area where the alternative festival takes place
‘Access to the city is closed for the remainder of the event, and you will be turned around’, organizers said in a statement on social media. ‘Rain over the last 24 hours has created a situation that required a full stop of vehicle movement on the playa,’ they explained.
Thousands of Burning Man attendees trudged in sloppy mud on Saturday – many barefoot or wearing plastic bags on their feet – as flooding from storms swept through the Nevada desert.
About six inches of rain is believed to have fallen on Friday at the festival site, located about 110 miles north of Reno, the National Weather Service in Reno said. Another three inches of rain is expected from late Saturday into Sunday and conditions are not expected to improve enough to allow vehicles to enter the playa,’ the U.S. Bureau of Land Management explained. Revelers have been suffering from hypothermia after unprecedented storms washed out the festival. Organizers urged festivalgoers already on site to ‘conserve food, water and fuel, and shelter in a warm, safe space.’
They said rain was unlikely to stop until Sunday night. The festival was scheduled to conclude on Monday. Due to downpours, the ‘playa,’ the huge open-air esplanade where the event unfolds, was rendered impassable. Those not trapped in the grounds tried not to let the storms dampen their mood, however, with local bars packed with festivalgoers still hoping to make the most of a bad situation.
Upwards of 100,000 people are believed to have made their way to the Nevada wasteland this year, making it among the most attended in Burning Man’s history, and the event is always among the most hotly anticipated for festivalgoers every summer.
