“The web of lies is intricately spun, but the truth has a way of unraveling even the most delicate threads.” This quote should ignite a sense of hope in those who long to see truth in a world smothered in deception. Though falsehoods are spreading like a raging wildfire, the spirit of truth is always on the move, waiting to reveal itself.
This week, many deceptions were spun, creating elaborate webs to entangle those who were caught off guard. Nevertheless, all one has to do is pull a thread and the whole web begins to collapse in on itself.
The first web created this week involves two nonprofit media organizations that provide news, educational, and cultural programming to the public: NPR (National Public Radio) and PBS (The Public Broadcasting Service).
On May 1, 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order titled Ending Taxpayer Subsidization of Biased Media. The order reads:
“National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) receive taxpayer funds through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). Unlike in 1967, when the CPB was established, today the media landscape is filled with abundant, diverse, and innovative news options. Government funding of news media in this environment is not only outdated and unnecessary but corrosive to the appearance of journalistic independence.
At the very least, Americans have the right to expect that if their tax dollars fund public broadcasting at all, they fund only fair, accurate, unbiased, and nonpartisan news coverage. No media outlet has a constitutional right to taxpayer subsidies, and the Government is entitled to determine which categories of activities to subsidize. The CPB’s governing statute reflects principles of impartiality: the CPB may not ‘contribute to or otherwise support any political party.’
The CPB fails to abide by these principles to the extent that it subsidizes NPR and PBS. Which viewpoints NPR and PBS promote do not matter. What does matter is that neither entity presents a fair, accurate, or unbiased portrayal of current events to taxpaying citizens.
I therefore instruct the CPB Board of Directors and all executive departments and agencies to cease Federal funding for NPR and PBS.”
The White House, in a social media post announcing the signing, said the outlets “receive millions from taxpayers to spread radical, woke propaganda disguised as ‘news.’”
Left-Wing Outlets Infuriated
PBS President and CEO Paula Kerger called it a “blatantly unlawful executive order, issued in the middle of the night.”
NPR’s President and CEO Katherine Maher responded in a press statement, “We will vigorously defend our right to provide essential news, information and life-saving services to the American public. We challenge this executive order using all means available. America’s founders knew that an informed public is essential to a functioning democracy, and that commitment to serve an informed public is the heart of NPR’s mission…
The President’s order is an affront to the First Amendment rights of NPR and locally owned and operated stations throughout America to produce air programming that meets the needs of their communities. It is also an affront to the First Amendment rights of station listeners and donors who support independent news and information.”
NPR reported, “CPB is already suing the Trump administration over his executive order seeking to fire three of its five board members; on Friday, it dismissed the validity of the president’s new order.”
Christopher F. Rufo, a writer and filmmaker who educates the public about critical race theory, gender ideology, institutional capture, and social decay, reacted to NPR’s statements on X. “I’m confused by the NPR CEO’s statement. I reread the First Amendment and didn’t find any language about a permanent public subsidy for NPR. And I remember last year, when she insisted that the First Amendment was the ‘number one challenge’ to controlling the narrative.”
The Left is angry because they insist that NPR and PBS inform the public with valuable, life-saving information for both children and adults. They stress that Trump’s cuts will pull the rug out from under children.
Sesame Street Characters Go “Woke”
But what exactly does PBS identify as “valuable” information? Decades ago, Sesame Street used to teach the ABCs, but now it teaches children about gender ideology and celebrating “Pride” with the LGBTQIA+ community.
Moreover, who can forget when Elmo encouraged little viewers to get their COVID-19 vaccine? Big Bird lined up to get his too, posting on social media, “I got the Covid vaccine today! My wing is a little sore, but it’ll give my body an extra protective boost that keeps me and others healthy.”
NPR celebrates liberal causes by promoting LGBTQ content, supporting abortion rights, and pandering to anti-Israel rhetoric. During the pandemic, their pro-vaccine articles spread fear and shunned those who voiced skepticism about the COVID-19 vaccine.
In the end, NPR and PBS can continue broadcasting their content to whoever wants to listen, but not on the dime of the American taxpayers. The majority of U.S. citizens are finished with woke politics and left-wing propaganda infiltrating publicly funded news and educational programs.
Vaccine Safety Caught in the Web
The next web of lies this week has to do with vaccines. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced that all new vaccines must be tested against a placebo. HHS spokesperson Andrew Nixon stated, “Except for the Covid vaccine, none of the vaccines on the CDC’s childhood recommended schedule was tested against an inert placebo (such as pure saline), meaning we know very little about the actual risk profiles of these products.”
Nixon added, “All new vaccines will undergo safety testing in placebo-controlled trials prior to licensure–a radical departure from past practices.”
The Left quickly swooped in to comment on this new development. The Boston Globe ran an article titled “RFK Jr. Will Order Placebo Testing for New Vaccines, Alarming Health Experts.”
The title is odd because why would implementing placebo-controlled trials be alarming to any health expert? What most Americans do not know is that “nearly every other drug except for vaccines must succeed against a placebo.” Long-standing regulations, however, have allowed vaccines to be developed and then licensed without the same testing standards as drugs released on the market. Most vaccines on the childhood schedule are not tested using inert placebos. Instead, heavy-metal solutions and other vaccines are used to determine safety.
A detailed summary chart documenting vaccines on the childhood immunization schedule created by ICAN (Informed Consent Action Network) shows the lack of a long-term, placebo-controlled trial for each vaccine. The chart can be downloaded by using this link. For many years, ICAN has petitioned agencies such as the CDC and FDA, questioning why vaccines that are given to young children and babies are not tested using inert placebos such as pure saline.
Utilizing a Placebo is Dangerous?
The Left believes that requiring placebo-controlled trials is “another step by Kennedy to undermine the confidence in and availability of vaccines.” In an NPR article, Dr. Paul Offit, the Director of the Vaccine Education Center at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, declares, “I think it is the interest of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to make vaccines more expensive, less available and more feared.” He alleges that Kennedy is a “science denialist” and a “dangerous man.” All the while, Dr. Offit has stated, “babies can tolerate 10,000 vaccines at once,” and has profited substantially from vaccines.
Dr. Offit’s comments fly in the face of gold standard science because the truth is that why would anyone be against more rigorous safety standards, especially ones that should have been in place from the very beginning? Since the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act was passed in 1986, vaccine manufacturers can no longer be sued directly for injuries and deaths resulting from their products. Since this time, the childhood immunization schedule has exploded, with babies receiving dozens of vaccines during the first year of life. The trials for these vaccines lack strong safety standards, with some requiring as little as five days of monitoring for adverse events.
In April 2025, HHS Secretary Kennedy revealed that the rate of autism has dramatically increased, now standing at 1 in 31 for eight-year-old children, according to a new report produced by the CDC’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Network. Chronic disease and autoimmune conditions are increasing as well. Parents and concerned American citizens have been demanding answers for decades, and now is the time to finally get them.
Fetal Development Education Bill Targeted
The third sticky web the Left tried to lure the public into involved a bill signed by Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, which requires the Arkansas Department of Education to change its academic standards to include discussions on fetal growth and development. SB 450, now known as Act 915, would require that content include: “A high-definition ultrasound that shows the brain, heart, sex organs, and other vital organs in early fetal development,” as well as “the process of fertilization and every stage of human development inside the uterus, including a discussion that notes significant markers in cell growth and organ development for every significant marker of pregnancy until birth.”
Though SB 450 (Act 915) received “overwhelming support” in the Arkansas Senate and House of Representatives, left-leaning organizations such as the ACLU of Arkansas oppose the bill and see it as “egregious” and a threat to “reproductive rights.”
Left-wing media sites such as BuzzFeed have tried to discredit prenatal development videos and instructional materials, suggesting that they are misleading or inaccurate sources of “subjective” information. But their claims are far from the truth and seek to keep young girls and women in the dark about what’s really happening inside the womb. The Left wants America’s youth to believe that babies are clumps of cells instead of a living miracle that begins at conception.
Truth Always Triumphs
In spite of the lies, more and more states are opting to add prenatal education to their curriculum, which shows a baby’s development inside the mother’s womb. The web of lies will always disintegrate once they are held up against the light of the truth.
While many unsuspecting people will jump into the spider’s web of lies, we can pray for them to escape deception. Each day, we must petition Jesus for discernment and wisdom as we read the newsfeeds and tune into every type of media source.
Lord Jesus, give us the ability to see the truth in every circumstance, and equip us with the knowledge to share it with those who cannot see beyond the lies.
