CHAOS IN NEPAL: Politicians BAN Social Media over Alleged “Misinformation” — Furious Gen Z Protesters TORCH Parliament, Ex-PM’s Wife Burned Alive as Protesters Set His Home on Fire

Wife of former Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal lost her life when furious demonstrators set his home on fire.

Nepal is in complete meltdown after the government’s insane decision to BAN the internet’s largest platforms under the excuse of fighting “misinformation.”

On September 4, 2025, Nepal’s ruling elites declared war on free speech, abruptly banning 26 social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Reddit, citing “failure to register” under new regulations, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.

The heavy-handed ban backfired instantly. Thousands of angry young Nepalis, mostly Gen Z, poured into the streets.

For years, they’ve lived under corruption, poverty, and elite privilege. Now, with their digital lifeline severed, they erupted in rage.

What began as peaceful demonstrations escalated into an all-out youth rebellion on Monday and Tuesday.

Security forces, following the orders of the same corrupt politicians who shut down social media, responded with tear gas, rubber bullets, and even live ammunition. At least 19 protesters were killed and hundreds were wounded, according to The Guardian.

Enraged crowds began torching symbols of power across Kathmandu and beyond. Nepal’s Parliament was set ablaze as rioters stormed the compound.

The Prime Minister’s residence and homes of several former leaders were burned to the ground.

Most shocking of all, Rajyalaxmi Chitrakar, the wife of former Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal, was burned alive when demonstrators torched his home.

The Hindustan Times reported:

Rajyalaxmi Chitrakar, the wife of former Prime Minister, Jhalanath Khanal died of burn injuries on Tuesday after her house was set on fire by protestors in Nepal’s Dallu. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but she died during the treatment.

The incident took place at Dallu, a posh locality in Kathmandu, where protesters trapped Rajyalaxmi inside her house and set it on fire during a protest against the government, local media Khabarhub reported. She sustained severe burn injuries and was rushed to Kirtipur Burn Hospital and was in critical condition.

Chitrakar suffered major burn injuries on multiple parts of her body, including her lungs, the report said. She later died in the hospital during the treatment.

Mob sets fire to Parliament in Nepal’s capital of Katmandu.

There’s chaos – and then there’s the absolute anarchy and destruction afflicting Nepal right now.

The south Asian Republic of Nepal is currently engulfed in total chaos, as the widespread, unstoppable protests, led primarily by Gen Z activists, turned to violence and destruction.

Order broke down erupted in Kathmandu after the government tried to enact a social media ban – but is rooted in unrest over rampant government corruption.

The demonstrations turned violent when police used tear gas, rubber bullets, and live ammunition, resulting in at least 19 deaths and hundreds of injuries.

But rather than quelling the unrest, it just made it worse.

Protesters stormed key government buildings, including the Parliament and the Prime Minister’s office, escalating tensions and prompting a curfew and army deployment.

Again, the unrest intensified as demonstrators defied the curfew, and are setting fire to government buildings and the residences of top officials, including the President and former Prime Minister.

The Parliament, the Supreme Court, the ruling party’s central office, the Supreme Court building, the president’s office, and the government complex are all, on fire, as well as the Hilton hotel and the main local broadcaster offices.

Politicians are being taken out of their houses and beaten, paraded on the streets to be abused by the mob.

The wife of a former prime minister was reportedly burned alive inside her house.

Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli resigned under pressure, along with several ministers, leaving Nepal’s leadership in disarray.

Some sources say the President also resigned, but it’s unclear so far in the midst of unrest.

The government has reversed the social media ban, which had targeted platforms like Facebook and YouTube for failing to register, but at this point this did little (or nothing) to quell the outrage, as protesters continued targeting symbols of the governing elite.

If we were to think of this world as a time–space dimension, then a closed box could represent it, with God outside of the box. It is impossible for mankind to escape the box because, by definition, the natural cannot enter into the supernatural. That which is confined to time and space cannot escape into eternity and infinity.

Because there is something within man that longs to know what is outside the box, he invents deities into existence, which is how religions proliferate. Different religions become an extension of man’s desire to escape his box, but man’s longing to transcend the box cannot be overcome because he is confined to the box by his very nature.

Is there a way to escape this box? Yes, the good news is there is a way, and it’s through Christ. Christianity acknowledges that you can’t get out of your box but proclaims that God has invaded the box from the outside. Jesus Christ has entered into your world to show you how you can dwell with God forever. Won’t you accept His invitation?¹

How “It Is Finished” Can Radically Change Your New Year! | The Daily Declaration

God finishes everything He starts. He finished creation before He made man. He finished redemption on the cross before He created the church. Here’s how this truth can radically change your new year.

Before you can start, you have to finish.

I have a book I have not finished. I have ideas for new books but can’t start until I finish the first one.

Unfinished business, projects, and conversations stop you from everything “new” in the New Year.

God finishes everything He starts. He finished creation before He made man. He finished redemption on the cross before He created the church.

What does “It is finished” mean to you at this critical moment?

1. You are FORGIVEN of all your past mistakes

You can’t move on with life while still analysing your failures.

You can’t drive a car looking through the rearview mirror.

I’m sure you made some pretty bad mistakes this year. Lot’s wife looked backward and was turned into a pillar of salt (looking at her mistakes!).

Jesus paid for your mistakes, failures, and imperfections. It’s called “grace.” Let grace wash your conscience clean by the blood of Jesus so you can start 2025 as a “new creation.”

2. You can FINISH what you have begun

Jesus told a parable about a man who started a tower and did not finish it. Nothing looks worse than an unfinished house in a neighborhood.

Maybe you got tired or discouraged. You gave up the project.

“And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Christ Jesus” (Phil. 1: 6)

God will HELP YOU TO FINISH what you began. Be strong and call upon His strength to help you complete what you put your hand to.

3. You cannot finish what you COMPLAIN about

Israel complained in the wilderness about their circumstances. They never finished walking through the wilderness and only circled for forty years!

The root word for “complain” is to “stop.” Someone said, “Where you complain, there you remain.”

Complaining stops you. You enter into a “holding pattern.”

Ask God to forgive you for complaining about a relationship, a project, or a job. Thank Him for His grace to “complete” that assignment well.

Now, you can enter your “Promised Land!”

4. Focus on PROGRESS, not on PERFECTION

Perfectionists rarely complete anything. They focus on the minute mistakes that don’t matter. They cannot decide because there are so many options.

A published book is better than a perfect book.

Bring a project to completion. Quit overanalysing and throwing away your progress.

Make progress and complete it.

5. Finish your easiest project first

Make a list of things you did not finish this year. Start with the easiest one to finish and “knock it out.”

Maybe it’s your garage. It may be your clothes closet

You gain courage and inspiration as you finish at least one project.

It may not take you nearly as long as you thought!

Someone said, “A procrastinator is someone who can’t take NOW for an answer!”

“It is finished.” It worked for Christ, and it will work for you this year!

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”

Paul Tournier, the eminent Swiss doctor, wrote in his book, The Adventure of Work, a profound assessment of the Christian life: “Life is an adventure directed by God.”

The seed of life-changing faith is contained in such a view. It can be the difference between a confident, rewarding life or a timid, fretful one. When confronted with perplexity, it can be the hinge upon which swings the response of either fear or faith.

Fear comes when we are overwhelmed by the magnitude or implications of a situation. It swells to paralyzing proportions when we think of the possibility of disastrous consequences.

But once we understand and embrace the truth that God is indeed in charge of our circumstances and has equipped us for every challenge, it is amazing how faith in Christ can change our outlook. Life isn’t risk free. But God has set a divine course for every believer that He oversees and directs with perfect wisdom and love.

Our faith is in His faithfulness to us, in His power that works on our behalf, in His grace that provides all our needs. God is in charge. Life is an exciting journey in trusting Him as our Guide and Companion. Begin the adventure today, and drop your fears at His feet. He won’t let you down.

Father, there may be hard times ahead, but I know that You are directing my path, and I will not fear the future.¹

In the past twenty-two years, since Lighthouse Trails began, our hope has always been to warn the church about the New Age because we saw that the New Age was entering the church through various channels (e.g., contemplative prayer, spiritual formation, Jesus Calling, The Shack). We have tried to show that the New Age is an insidious and utterly deceptive ideology that really began in the Garden of Eden when Satan beguiled Eve with enticing words to become like God.

In our efforts to issue the warnings, one person we came to realize as one of the most significant influences in the lives of millions of people was Oprah Winfrey. We saw from the very early days of Lighthouse Trails that Oprah was a New Ager and that she was, likely, the most prolific New Age “evangelist” that’s ever been. We say that because it’s through her that many New Age leaders were launched into worldwide fame.

One of our greatest frustrations over the years has been witnessing the apathy and non-interest by Christian pastors and leaders in understanding the New Age and warning about it. To the contrary, they have actually welcomed it (either knowingly or unknowingly). Many times we have heard Christians say that the New Age is “silly,” “nonsense,” and not that big of a deal. Recently, we saw where some were saying that Oprah isn’t even a New Ager at all.

Two days ago, former New Age mega-leader, Doreen Virtue (who became a born-again believer in 2017) posted a YouTube video titled “Oprah’s Demonic Agenda – Insider Tells All.” This 34-minute video is definitely worth watching, and we hope many of our readers will do that. Please click here to view the video. Incidentally, Doreen mentions the work that former New Age follower Warren B. Smith has done on exposing Oprah.

God said to Moses, “I AM WHOIAM.”

No one ever sank under the burdens of today; but add yesterday and tomorrow to today, and it can capsize your life. Jesus said, “Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Dr. Osler, a famous physician of years past, made a helpful observation. He noted how oceangoing vessels were able to seal off various sections of the boat so that a leak could be contained in only one part of the ship. Though damaged, a ship could still make it to safety.

Just so, he suggested, we need to develop the capacity for sealing off the yesterdays and tomorrows that fuel the fires of worry. We need to learn to live in the compartment of today alone.

God is the great “I AM” (Exodus 3:14), not “I WAS” or “I WILL BE.” The Christian who lives with Him today, in the present tense, is the one who will be free from worries about yesterday, today, or tomorrow.¹
