Violence Spreads To Smaller Cities Such As Spokane As Authorities Brace For Unrest In 1,800 U.S. Communities On Saturday | End Of The American Dream

If you think that it is just a coincidence that highly volatile protests have suddenly been organized all over the nation, you are being quite naive.  As I pointed out the other day, large organizations with plenty of money are involved in this effort.  President Trump was able to get the violence in Los Angeles under control by sending in the National Guard, but what is he going to do when violence erupts in dozens or even hundreds of cities?  The National Guard can’t be everywhere.  Unfortunately, violence has already started to happen in smaller cities such as Spokane, Washington.  The following timeline of events for the chaos that erupted in downtown Spokane on Wednesday comes from local NBC affiliate KHQ…

4 P.M.

Protesters were seen letting air out of the transport vehicle’s tires.

5 P.M.

The protest shifted to the back of the facility as protesters learned of ICE agents attempting to move the men out. Protesters moved benches from nearby Riverfront Park to block entrances.

6 P.M.

At 6:30 p.m., a red transport van arrived on the east side of the building, drawing an even larger crowd. Protesters linked arms, with Stuckert at the front. Spokane police arrived shortly after and attempted to move the crowd back, but protesters remained firm.

7 P.M.

Cameras captured a protester using a box cutter to slash the van’s tires. Officers tackled the individual and pushed the crowd back further. The SWAT team arrived and warned the crowd to disperse by 7:18 p.m. or face arrest or chemical agents.

According to Fox News, the protesters caused so much chaos that the liberal mayor of Spokane was forced to declare a state of emergency…

Spokane, Washington, has now declared a state of emergency after protesters failed to cooperate with Mayor Lisa Brown’s curfew that began at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday until 5 a.m.

Brown issued the curfew amid ICE protests downtown from Boone Avenue to Spokane Falls Boulevard and Howard Street to Division Street, as well as Riverfront Park.

The protests began after former Spokane City Councilman Ben Stuckart issued a call to action asking for support for the detainment of a Venezuelan man seeking asylum.

Will President Trump send the National Guard to Spokane?

Probably not.

In fact, there is an even greater need for the Washington National Guard in Seattle because of the chaos that has erupted there…

A day of escalating violence at the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building in downtown Seattle culminated Tuesday night as Antifa and anti-ICE agitators removed and burned the building’s American flags.

The protests began around 8 am, when demonstrators started barricading the building’s driveways with rental scooters and bicycles. As the day progressed, it turned increasingly volatile. Antifa militants and anti-ICE activists began blocking exits, surrounding federal officers, and engaging in physical confrontations with agents and journalists. Two people were arrested, according to KOMO news.

By late morning, the group had effectively blockaded all garage exits to prevent ICE from transporting detainees. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) personnel were dispatched but were quickly outnumbered and forced to retreat after being surrounded and doused with unknown liquids.

That was Tuesday night.

Subsequently, on Wednesday night, protesters in Seattle were “throwing rocks, bottles and concrete chunks at officers”…

Police said individuals from a group gathered began throwing rocks, bottles and concrete chunks at officers.

One person threw a large firework at officers, but no one was injured.

Meanwhile, things just continue to get even crazier in the Big Apple.

For example, some lunatic just set eight police vehicles on fire…

At least eight police cruisers were set on fire inside a locked parking lot that belongs to the 83rd Precinct in Brooklyn on Thursday, according to the NYPD.

Police said it happened near Central and DeKalb Avenues around 1:30 a.m.

The eight damaged vehicles included strategic response cars and police vans, according to the NYPD.

And as I discussed yesterday, we are starting to see quite a bit of violence in Chicago too…

A protest against federal immigration enforcement spiraled into mayhem Tuesday night in downtown Chicago as rioters blocked traffic, clashed with police, and vandalized property.

According to Fox 32, hundreds flooded the streets as part of a campaign called From LA to Chicago: ICE Out! by far-left activists opposed to the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement strategy.

This violence is a very serious threat to our nation.

But as California Governor Gavin Newsom has pointed out, every single Democratic governor is siding with the protesters…

Events are reaching a boiling point.

And now the “No Kings” protests are scheduled to happen this weekend.  The following comes from the official website of the protests…

They’ve defied our courts, deported Americans, disappeared people off the streets, attacked our civil rights, and slashed our services. The corruption has gone too. far. No thrones. No crowns. No kings.

We have never seen anything quite like this.

We are being told that there will be 1,800 simultaneous protests on Saturday…

As of reporting, the group expects around 1,800 rallies to take place on Saturday, with events planned in all 50 states but not Washington, D.C. Trump told reporters on Tuesday that anyone protesting the Army’s parade “will be met with very big force.”

In anticipation of these protests, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has deployed over 5,000 National Guard troops in his state…

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Thursday he has ordered the deployment of more than 5,000 Texas National Guard troops, along with more than 2,000 state police, to help local law enforcement manage protests against President Donald Trump and the ongoing federal immigration raids.

Abbott’s announcement did not detail where the troops were sent, but some were seen at a protest Wednesday night in downtown San Antonio near the Alamo. That protest drew hundreds of demonstrators but did not erupt into violence.

Of course most governors aren’t making any preparations for these protests.

Needless to say, that actually invites unrest.

These protesters want the Trump administration to back down and stop deporting so many people, but that isn’t going to happen.

In fact, Tom Homan is warning that blue states will see “an increase in ICE operations” and this will especially be true in so-called sanctuary cities…

Donald Trump’s border tsar says he will “flood the zone” with arrest squads in liberal sanctuary cities as he punches back against protests that have rocked Los Angeles for days.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Tom Homan said the protesters will do nothing to slow the pace of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detentions.

“If they think they’re going to shut ICE operations down, they’re wrong,” he said, after returning to Washington DC from California, where he had seen the protests up close.

“What they’re going to see is an increase in ICE operations especially in sanctuary cities.”

And the Trump administration has put forward a plan which would use over 20,000 National Guard troops to help round up those that are in this country illegally…

The Pentagon is reviewing a Department of Homeland Security request to deploy more than 20,000 National Guard troops to aid the Trump administration’s widening crackdown on illegal immigration around the United States, according to officials and documents.

Homeland Security officials want the troops to help track fugitives, quell riots at detention centers and search for unaccompanied children in remote or hostile terrain.

Meanwhile, Pentagon and Customs and Border Patrol officials have inspected military bases in recent months from New Jersey to California as potential sites to detain an expected influx of migrants.

Immigration is President Trump’s number one issue.

He isn’t going to give up.

And that means that the protesters are going to get angrier and angrier.

Sadly, the truth is that the chaos in the streets that we have witnessed so far is just the beginning.

We are the most deeply divided that we have been as a nation since the 1860s.

Both sides absolutely detest one another, and civil unrest is going to be a normal part of our lives from this point forward.

Why Was The Mexican Flag Chosen To Be The Primary Symbol Of The “Color Revolution” That Has Erupted In Los Angeles? | The Economic Collapse

Specific tactics may change, but the playbook is always the same.  All over the world, “color revolutions” have featured graffiti, vandalism, arson, rioting, looting and violent clashes will law enforcement officers.  The goal of the rioters is to pressure authorities into giving them what they want so that the chaos will stop.  And “color revolutions” always feature a highly visible set of colors that are deeply meaningful to the people that are being encouraged to protest.  In this case, the Mexican flag has been specifically chosen to be the primary symbol of the “color revolution” that has erupted in Los Angeles.  The following comes from the New York Times…

As images of protests in Southern California have flooded television and social media in recent days, a key question has emerged: Why are so many protesters carrying Mexican flags at an American political protest?

That is a very good question.

We have been bombarded by images of Mexican flags in recent days.

In fact, the rioters that were standing on top of the burning Waymo taxis were literally waving Mexican flags…

Photos of masked provocateurs waving Mexican flags atop burning Waymo taxis spread instantly across conservative social media this weekend. Republicans pointed to them as a prime example of why President Trump called in the National Guard and how immigration had gone too far in California.

“Look at all the foreign flags,” Stephen Miller, the deputy White House chief of staff and the architect of Mr. Trump’s domestic agenda, said Sunday on X. “Los Angeles is occupied territory.”

The mindless rioters in the streets probably have no idea that they are following the “color revolution” playbook very precisely.

The colors of the Mexican flag are being inextricably linked with this “color revolution”, and the goal is to intimidate the other side so that they will agree to back down…

The idea behind this color revolution – it is organized and planned, not spontaneous or genuine – is to intimidate normal people into submitting and embracing the politicians associated with its goals in the hopes that it will stop. This is the work of the Democrat Party; the rioters are its useful idiots, acting to support the party’s goals while its maintaining deniability. But this scheme only succeeds if the target is feckless and weak, which such targets usually are.

Of course President Trump has not shown any indication that he plans to back down any time soon, and so it appears that the left plans to take things to another level.

On Wednesday, California Governor Gavin Newsom delivered an ominous address in which he stated that “Democracy is under assault” and “the moment we’ve feared has arrived”…

The California governor urged Americans to stand up to Mr. Trump, calling it a “perilous moment” for democracy and the country’s long-held legal norms.

“California may be first, but it clearly won’t end here,” Mr. Newsom said, speaking to cameras from a studio in Los Angeles. “Other states are next. Democracy is next.”

“Democracy is under assault right before our eyes — the moment we’ve feared has arrived,” he added.

This was a signal.

For a very long time, leftists have been holding discussions about what they will do once Trump “becomes a dictator”, and when Newsom used the phrase “the moment we’ve feared” he knew exactly what he was doing.

Newsom is actively trying to make the protests even worse.

But Newsom isn’t going to go out into the streets himself.

He is counting on “useful idiots” to do the heavy lifting for him.

We all know that the Mexican flag evokes very powerful emotions for Mexicans living in the United States.

But is there another reason why it was specifically chosen as the primary symbol of this “color revolution”?

You may have noticed that the Palestinian flag also features the colors red, green and white, and it has been showing up alongside the Mexican flag at anti-ICE protests all over the country.  For example, the following photo was taken in Chicago by Gateway Pundit contributor Terry Newsome…

The radical left would love to merge the anti-ICE movement with the pro-Palestinian movement.

If both groups work side by side to cause chaos all over the country in the months ahead, it will be one long, hot summer.

And there are certainly a lot of radical Islamic groups in this country that are in a revolutionary mood.  For example, an imam in Michigan is calling for “a revival of jihad”…

In a provocative sermon sure to spark controversy and heighten security concerns, Michigan Imam Dr. Sherif Gindy (also spelled Sharif), linked to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), urged a revival of jihad. He attributed the decline of hijab-wearing among girls and the global closure of mosques to the abandonment of jihad.

Speaking at the Islamic Organization of North America (IONA) on May 23, and reported by MEMRI (The Middle East Media Research Institute), Gindy mourned the shuttering of mosques in Europe and the destruction of places of worship in India. He claimed the only way to turn things around is to revive jihad – not just the spiritual struggle, but the kind involving force, power, and strength.

Once war with Iran starts, I think that we will see vast numbers of Muslims out in the streets, and of course they will be joining the vast numbers of anti-ICE protesters that are already there.

But President Trump is not going to back down.

Just hours ago, he posted a message on his Truth Social account that made it clear that he is not going to let the rioters win…

Generations of Army heroes did not shed their blood on distant shores only to watch our Country be destroyed by invasion and Third World lawlessness here at home, like is happening in California. As Commander in Chief, I will not let that happen…

President Trump is also warning that his administration is going to go after whoever is financing these protests…

“Somebody’s financing it, and we’re going to find out through Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice who it is,” he said. “Under the Trump administration, this anarchy will not stand. We will not allow federal agents to be attacked, and we will not allow an American city to be invaded and conquered by a foreign enemy.”

That is good to hear.

Those that are funding the riots need to be held accountable.

And Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is telling us that the National Guard could soon be deployed in more cities…

The federal government’s deployment of National Guard troops could expand beyond Los Angeles, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said at a congressional hearing Wednesday in Washington.

“Part of it is getting ahead of a problem, so that if in other places, if there are other riots in places where law enforcement officers are threatened, we would have the capability to surge the national guard there if necessary,” Hegseth said.

The Trump administration is fully committed to law and order.

Of course the other side is fully committed to their cause as well.

According to NBC News, a total of 1,800 anti-Trump protests are scheduled for Saturday…

“The goal here is to deprive Trump of what he wants in this moment, which is a story about him being the all-powerful political figure of our time, and instead create a contrast with normal, everyday people demonstrating that power in this country still resides with the people,” said Ezra Levin, a co-founder of the progressive group Indivisible, who is helping organize what participants have dubbed a nationwide “No Kings” demonstration.

If past protests are a guide, the participants could number in the millions, he said. A total of 1,800 rallies are expected, with events in each congressional district, he added.

I wrote quite a bit about the “No Kings” protests yesterday.

I can’t recall ever seeing 1,800 simultaneous protests on the same day.

We were expecting the left to go completely nuts, and now it has happened.

On top of everything else, now there is a tremendous amount of speculation that a military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities could be coming soon.

Global events are starting to happen at a speed that is absolutely breathtaking, and I have a feeling that we have a very “interesting” summer ahead of us.

Special Response Team (SRT) within Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) participates in a rigorous training exercise utilizing an armored vehicle at Fort Benning in Georgia.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is gearing up to deploy elite tactical units to five Democrat-controlled cities drowning in chaos, according to a report from MSNBC.

What began with federal immigration enforcement in L.A. has ignited demonstrations—and even violent scenes—in major metropolitan areas.

The targeted cities—Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York City, and Northern Virginia—are sanctuary strongholds where local leaders have long thumbed their noses at federal authority, shielding criminal illegal aliens while lawlessness festers.

The announcement comes as Los Angeles, another Democrat-run disaster zone, spirals into anarchy following ICE raids.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom, both radical Democrats, have fanned the flames of anarchy, refusing to cooperate with federal authorities and instead coddling lawbreakers.

Newsom even had the audacity to challenge President Trump to “arrest me,” daring the administration to hold him accountable for his complicity in the chaos.

President Trump, unyielding in his promise to secure the border and protect American citizens, has already deployed 2,000 National Guard troops and 700 active Marines to Los Angeles to quell the riots, bypassing spineless state officials who’ve abandoned their duty.

MSNBC reports that ICE, equipped with Bear Cat armored vehicles, long guns, and tactical gear, are now poised to storm these five Democrat strongholds.

ICE’s Special Response Teams (SRTs) are highly trained, elite units within ERO (Enforcement and Removal Operations) tasked with handling high-risk situations, serving warrants, and assisting other law enforcement agencies.

Who Has Been Spending Enormous Amounts Of Money To Equip The Protesters In Los Angeles With Brand New Riot Gear? | The Economic Collapse

If the protests in Los Angeles are supposed to be peaceful, why is brand new riot gear being trucked in and given to the protesters?  And why isn’t this making front page news all over the country?  First of all, protesters only need riot gear if riots are going to break out.  Secondly, it is becoming clear that someone purchased large quantities of riot gear in advance.  So who funded those purchases, and who knew that riots would erupt in Los Angeles at this specific time?  If corporate news outlets in this country were still employing real journalists, those are the types of questions that those journalists would be asking.

As Eric Daugherty has accurately pointed out, Fox News actually captured footage of “bionic shields” that normally cost 60 dollars each being handed out to rioters on the streets of Los Angeles…

PAID-FOR “bionic shields” are being trucked in for the Los Angeles rioters.

These cost around $60, each…and there are BOXES and BOXES of them being handed out.

“That’s not the kind of thing that you buy in bulk if you don’t plan on doing something with it…”

They are planning for a CLASH.

This an enormous scandal.

Why aren’t more people talking about this?

According to Newsweek, the “bionic shields” were being handed out by two women as “a masked driver waited for them to unload the goods”…

TV cameras have captured boxes of “bionic shields” being distributed to protesters in Los Angeles on Monday.

Footage of the scene showed boxes of solid, full-face masks—almost akin to helmets—being handed out from the back of a pickup truck by two women while a masked driver waited for them to unload the goods.

The footage has sparked concerns among some that external agitators are facilitating riots by equipping crowds for potential clashes with the police or National Guard. However, others say the masks are safety gear, worn as a precaution after protesters were injured by rubber bullets that the authorities fired.

So where did all of these “bionic shields” suddenly come from?

Did someone order them from Amazon?

Of course not.

Obviously, someone already had large quantities of these “bionic shields” on hand.

Needless to say, that has enormous implications.

Were these “bionic shields” purchased in advance for pre-planned protests that were scheduled to erupt this month?

We really need an answer to that question.

And as Fox anchor Elex Michaelson has pointed out, we also need to know who is funding all of this…

Fox LA anchor Elex Michaelson wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “We just saw people arrive in Downtown L.A. with truck loads of Bionic Face Shields that demonstrators quickly grabbed. It certainly seems like gear you’d wear if you’re preparing for conflict with police. Who is funding this?”

There is also concern about a Craigslist advertisement for “extremely tough, brave men” that was recently posted.  Was someone trying to recruit paid agitators?  Snopes cannot determine if the ad is connected to the riots in any way, but even they were forced to admit that the ad “was real”…

On June 9, 2025, screenshots of an actual Craigslist advertisement seeking “extremely tough, brave men” for $6,500 to $12,500 per week began circulating on social media. Users on X posted the screenshots as “proof” that ongoing Los Angeles immigration protests were “orchestrated and well-funded chaos.”

The social media posts gained significant traction, with one example on X receiving 267,200 views and another garnering 374,300 views as of this writing.

The  ad itself was real — in the sense that it was indeed posted on losangeles.craigslist.org at 1:20 p.m. PT on June 5, 2025 — one day before the immigration protests began in Los Angeles. An almost identical ad was posted on austin.craigslist.org just 37 minutes later at 1:57 p.m. PT.

If authorities want to get to the root cause of the problems that we are witnessing in Los Angeles, they need to find out where the funding for the protests is originating.

At this stage, there is a lot of speculation about three specific organizations…

When anti-U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agitators took to the streets in the Los Angeles area over the weekend attacking officers, setting cars on fire, and looting, they drew attention to the left-leaning activist groups that may have helped instigate the riots.

Three major organizations have come under increased scrutiny: the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, Los Angeles; the Party for Socialism and Liberation; and the Service Employees International Union. One of these groups, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, Los Angeles, has received millions in government funding.

In the case of CHIRLA, we know that they have been getting showered with taxpayer money in recent years…

Citing an investigative X thread from DataRepublican, Liz says that of a “number of NGOs [that] have been implicated, foremost is Coalition for Humane Immigration Rights [of Los Angeles], or CHIRLA.”

According to DataRepublican, “$34 million of [CHIRLA’s] reported $45 million in revenue are from government grants,” meaning taxpayer dollars are being used to pay the people who are setting fire to cop cars and hurling concrete slabs at federal agents.

During the Biden administration specifically, CHIRLA’s revenue “jumped from $12 million to $34 million in government grants.”

“The Joe Biden administration knew exactly who they wanted to give money to in order to set up situations like these riots in California,” says Liz.

Of course these organizations are funded by other sources as well, but it should deeply upset all of us that our tax dollars are being used for such purposes.

The corporate media keeps telling us that the protests are “mostly peaceful”, but meanwhile a horrifying crime spree has broken out in downtown Los Angeles…

Rioters in downtown Los Angeles looted a prominent Apple store amid protests against ICE raids in the city.

Images from the scene show rioters in hoodies and masks ransacking the store Monday night. Dozens of people can be seen throughout the property before at least one individual began breaking a window in order to escape from the side of the building.

President Trump is determined to do whatever it takes to restore order.

In fact, on Tuesday he warned that he could even invoke the Insurrection Act if that becomes necessary…

President Donald Trump flirted with invoking the Insurrection Act in Los Angeles as he tore into ‘bad people’ and ‘animals’ he said brought the city to the verge of burning down.

The president defended his decision to send 700 U.S. Marines as well as California National Guard to Los Angeles, and brushed off California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s claim that the deployment inflamed the situation.

And he would not rule out use of an authority to deploy military forces under his control to put down disturbances if he sees fit.

We were warned in advance that this sort of civil unrest would be coming.

Now it is here.

The Democrats have been preparing for this summer for a long time.

Now the chaos that they have been plotting is starting to be unleashed, and it is going to tear our country apart.

TV cameras have captured boxes of ‘bionic face shields’ being distributed to protesters in Los Angeles on Monday, leading people to ask if George Soros is paying for it

Think back to the riots that took place 8 years ago, race riots involving ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter, and at nearly all the clash locations, supposedly organic rioters all seemed to have professionally printed signs, most arrived secretly on chartered busses, and piles of bricks showed up around the corner from the protest location. Times goes by and what did we learn? That nearly all of that was paid for by George Soros and the various proxies that run through his Open Society Foundation. That’s the memo.

Mysterious Riot Gear Handed Out to LA Protesters Raises Questions

FROM NEWSWEEKS: Footage of the scene showed boxes of solid, full-face masks—almost akin to helmets—being handed out from the back of a pickup truck by two women while a masked driver waited for them to unload the goods. The footage has sparked concerns among some that external agitators are facilitating riots by equipping crowds for potential clashes with the police or National Guard. However, others say the masks are safety gear, worn as a precaution after protesters were injured by rubber bullets that the authorities fired.

Los Angeles has seen days of protests that have tipped over into violence and riots on occasion. Demonstrators are marching against a series of raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement that target undocumented migrants as part of President Donald Trump’s vow for mass deportations.

Footage of protective equipment being handed out to protesters in the California city has sparked concerns that unknown organizers are kitting-out the crowds in riot gear.

Trump has criticized mask-wearing demonstrators, saying the protests are being fueled “by instigators and often paid troublemakers.” However, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has said it is the federal government that has provoked unrest by sending in the National Guard to justify a Trump power grab across the state.

Bionic shields are full-face, transparent visors that are marketed online as a work tool. They can protect against flying debris and chemical splashes and are recommended, for example, for those working as machinists or mechanics in auto body shops.

On Monday, a Fox 11 news crew caught the apparent mask distribution on camera while filming outside the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building by the intersection of Temple Street and Los Angeles Street, where crowds were gathering as National Guard officers lined the steps of the building.Reporter Matthew Seedorff described a sense of tension in the air and said he had seen cars doing “doughnuts” in the street in full view of the police. The camera then zoomed-in on a black pickup with a woman standing in the back of the truck and handing out boxes of face shields to the  crowd. Another woman appeared to be helping her from the ground.

Dozens of boxes appeared to be distributed, and several masked and hooded protesters were seen opening the boxes to access the masks before discarding the empty boxes on the street.

The masks, which retail for up to $60 each, appeared to be brand-new as they were still in plastic wrap inside the cardboard boxes. A Fox News report said cameras had shown riot shields and gas masks being handed out.

Fox LA anchor Elex Michaelson wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “We just saw people arrive in Downtown L.A. with truck loads of Bionic Face Shields that demonstrators quickly grabbed. It certainly seems like gear you’d wear if you’re preparing for conflict with police. Who is funding this?”

Eric Daugherty, the assistant news director of Florida’s Voice, shared the Fox footage on X, adding: “WTF? PAID-FOR ‘bionic shields’ are being trucked in for the Los Angeles rioters. These cost around $60, each…and there are BOXES and BOXES of them being handed out. ‘That’s not the kind of thing that you buy in bulk if you don’t plan on doing something with it…’ They are planning for a CLASH.” READ MORE

7 Examples Of The “Mostly Peaceful” Los Angeles Riots Becoming Even More “Peaceful” | The Economic Collapse

If they keep telling us that the riots in Los Angeles are “mostly peaceful”, do they think that we will eventually believe it?  Over and over again, reporters are telling us that the protests are “mostly peaceful” as they literally stand in front of burning vehicles.  It is the exact same sort of gaslighting that we witnessed during the final summer of President Trump’s first term in office.  There were violent riots all over America throughout the summer of 2020, and it appears that there will be violent riots all over America throughout the summer of 2025.  But the mainstream media will never call them “violent riots” even though that is precisely what they are.

The viciousness of the protesters in Los Angeles has been absolutely breathtaking.  If this is “peace”, what would “violence” look like?  The following are 8 examples of the “mostly peaceful” Los Angeles riots becoming even more “peaceful”…

#1 On Sunday evening, protesters set five Waymo driverless vehicles on fire right in the heart of downtown Los Angeles…

With dark plumes of smoke still filling the air above downtown as of 6 p.m., at least five Waymos were seen either still engulfed by flames or charring after being set ablaze by protesters on North Los Angeles Street near Arcadia Street.

The destruction led the Los Angeles Police Department to indefinitely close Los Angeles Street north of Arcadia and south of Alameda streets and declare an unlawful assembly for the entire area, ordering crowds to disperse.

These driverless vehicles are very expensive, and it is being estimated that burning them caused close to a million dollars in damage…

According to a 2024 report by the Wall Street Journal, analysts estimated Waymo’s driverless cars cost between $150,000 and $200,000 a piece.

With the five burning robotaxis, the cost of damages would amount to roughly between $750,000 to $1 million, based on WSJ’s estimate.

#2 Protesters were also spotted trying to set police vehicles on fire…

Protesters faced off with police all day Sunday, with things getting intense at times. People were seen using random items to protect themselves from police, while other protesters took aim at CHP officers and their stranded patrol cars on the 101 Freeway.

The group threw things and tried setting the patrol units on fire.

#3 According to Police Chief Jim McDonnell, some of the rioters were using hammers to break off huge chunks of concrete from a federal building in downtown Los Angeles.  Once they had broken the chunks into pieces that were small enough to throw, they were chucking them at law enforcement officers…

Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell said in a Sunday evening press conference that the violence was “getting increasingly worse and more violent.”

“This violence that I’ve seen, it’s disgusting,” McDonnell said, according to Fox News. “It’s escalated now, since the beginning of this incident. What we saw the first night was bad. What we’ve seen subsequent to that is getting increasingly worse and more violent.”

“We’ve seen people with hammers … breaking the bollards behind the federal building and taking the rocks. If you will, or pieces of concrete and throwing them at officers,” McDonnell added. “We’ve had liquid—of who knows what, description thrown at officers. There’s no limit to what they’re, doing to our officers,” he added.

#4 McDonnell is also claiming that some of the protesters were literally firing “commercial grade fireworks” at his officers…

“This violence that I’ve seen is disgusting, it’s escalated now since the beginning of this incident. What we saw the first night was bad, what we’ve seen subsequent to that is getting increasingly worse and more violent. Tonight we had individuals out there shooting commercial grade fireworks at our officers, that can kill you,” McDonnell added. “We have adapted our tactics to have a chance to take these people into custody, and to be able to hold them accountable. We are overwhelmed as far as the number of people out there engaged in this type of activity, and the type of things that they are doing.”

#5 Why would anyone think that attacking a police horse is a good idea?  At one point, rioters “fired off projectiles and fireworks” at the horses that some of the police were riding…

The rioters fired off projectiles and fireworks at the animals on Sunday as they continued to rip apart the city over the Trump administration’s arrest of criminal illegal aliens.

#6 Nothing says “social justice” quite like looting.  Protesters were caught on camera looting a T-Mobile store and looting an Adidas store…

Video recorded just after midnight showed individuals going in and out of a T-Mobile store on South Broadway after smashing through the glass front door early Monday morning.

Armed officers also responded to an Adidas store after reports of looting near 8th Street and Broadway. Some of the merchandise taken from the store had been recovered by law enforcement and could be seen on top of their vehicles.

#7 You won’t hear the mainstream media talking about the Hispanic woman that was viciously beaten for daring to speak out against the riots…

A Hispanic woman who told people taking part in the Los Angeles riots that illegal aliens were responsible for the death of her family member was physically attacked by multiple men who were apparently triggered by her speaking out.

Outnumbered by thousands of protesters, the brave woman stood her ground as she was pepper sprayed, had water bottles thrown at her face and was rammed into and punched by a man.

The lady tried telling the unruly group surrounding her that people are being deported because they’re committing crimes and the crowd became even more upset and followed her until she was forced to flee.

To the mainstream media, these protesters can do no wrong because they are fighting against Trump.

Of course Trump is certainly not going to back down.

He is warning that his administration is “going to have troops everywhere” if that is what is necessary to restore order…

“We are going to have troops everywhere,” Trump said after touching down on Air Force One in New Jersey on Sunday. “We are not going to let this happen to our country.”

Trump is also pledging that when protesters spit on law enforcement officers, they will “be hit harder than they have ever been hit before”…

“If they spit, we will hit.” This is a statement from the President of the United States concerning the catastrophic Gavin Newscum inspired Riots going on in Los Angeles. The Insurrectionists have a tendency to spit in the face of the National Guardsmen/women, and others. These Patriots are told to accept this, it’s just the way life runs. But not in the Trump Administration. IF THEY SPIT, WE WILL HIT, and I promise you they will be hit harder than they have ever been hit before. Such disrespect will not be tolerated!

We are about to see chaos in the streets of major cities all over America.

#1 During a live broadcast, ABC7 Eyewitness News co-anchor Marc Brown actually described the rioters as “just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn”…

An ABC7 News reporter suggested that law enforcement shouldn’t attempt to stop the mass violence being carried out in LA because “just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn.”

Yes, really.

The anchor, Marc Brown, stated that the situation “could turn very volatile if you move law enforcement in there in the wrong way and turn what is just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn into massive confrontation, altercation between officers and demonstrators.”

#2 As smoke was rising behind him, ABC7 Eyewitness News reporter Tim Caputo described the rioters as “people taking videos, people waving flags, people walking around, people wanting to be part of the cause”…

As the broadcast showed aerial images of cars on fire, Caputo directed his cameraman away from rising smoke.

‘From what we’ve seen… the vast majority are people taking videos, people waving flags, people walking around, people wanting to be part of the cause, wanting to have their voices heard, and wanting to show the power of numbers and the power of force,’ the reporter said.

#3 Even though we are constantly seeing protesters commit tremendous acts of violence, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass insists that we “haven’t seen massive violence take place”…

#4 Kamala Harris just had to add her two cents to the debate.  She has described the protesters as “essential in the fight for justice”, and she would like us to believe that the protests in Los Angeles have been “overwhelmingly peaceful”…

“Deploying the National Guard is a dangerous escalation meant to provoke chaos. In addition to the recent ICE raids in Southern California and across our nation, it is part of the Trump Administration’s cruel, calculated agenda to spread panic and division,” Harris said. “This Administration’s actions are not about public safety — they’re about stoking fear. Fear of a community demanding dignity and due process.”

Harris extolled protesting as “a powerful tool — essential in the fight for justice” without acknowledging the rioting that prompted Trump to deploy the National Guard.

“And as the LAPD, Mayor, and Governor have noted, demonstrations in defense of our immigrant neighbors have been overwhelmingly peaceful,” Harris said. “I continue to support the millions of Americans who are standing up to protect our most fundamental rights and freedoms.”

#5 U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal apparently believes that the Trump administration has been “seeping up innocent people”…

“Enough of these mass ICE raids who are seeping up innocent people,” Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., said June 9. “Enough of the undermining of due process.”

#6 California Governor Gavin Newsom seems convinced that the chaos in Los Angeles could turn him into the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination in 2028, and so he is literally daring Tom Homan to arrest him…

In an interview with MSNBC, Newsom said, “The hell with this guy. Come after me. Arrest me. Let’s just get it over with, tough guy. You know, I don’t give a damn, but I care about my community. I care about this community. The hell are they doing? These guys need to grow up. They need to stop, and we need to push back. And I’m sorry to be so clear, but that kind of bloviating is exhausting. So, Tom, arrest me. Let’s go.”

#7 Whoopi Goldberg just told a national audience that she believes that we are heading toward a “civil war”…

Goldberg said. “The Defense Department has the U.S. Marines on high alert right now. Now, you know, is it warranted, or does this sort of escalate the situation? I mean, whatever happened to states’ rights? I thought that was what you do, because you tell the state, this is what we’re thinking of doing. You know, you don’t just send people in. You don’t send troops in. But what do I know? I’ve never run a state. But I don’t really you know, when you come in and everyone is when you go into the donut shop to look for people and you’re dressed in tactical gear, you’re creating an issue, you’re creating a problem. You want people to come, you’ve scared them. You’ve even when people are supposed to be there, when they come to the to talk to the judge, you’re arresting them right after what is going on here?”

Co-host Sunny Hostin said, “I think what really matters from a long view here is he is militarizing and deploying the Guard for the purpose of policing Americans’ protest activity, our freedom of speech, our freedom of assembly. There’s a very big, stark demarcation between military troops and law enforcement, public law enforcement, civilian law enforcement. And you are an army turned inside to police its citizens can cause chaos and fascism.”

Goldberg interjected, “Civil war.”

#8 Senator Chris Murphy is urging Democrats to “be on the streets all over the country to protest what’s happening to our immigrant community”…

“I mean, my first message is to keep it peaceful,” Murphy declared. “I mean, obviously, this is a moment where we have to be on the streets all over the country to protest what’s happening to our immigrant community, but more broadly, to protest what’s happening to our democracy. This is the most corrupt administration in the history of the country, and we are going to rise to this moment by being out there on the streets.”

He continued, “But you know, ultimately, I think the country sees what Donald Trump is trying to do here. He’s looking for a fight. There’s nothing in what he is doing that is about peace or about restoring order. He’s taking a protest that is relatively isolated. You know, people in Los Angeles over the weekend would tell you that 99% of them went about their day, and it was pretty normal because this is not an invasion that has taken over the entire city. And he’s trying to turn a protest that is pretty small into something that involves an even bigger confrontation so that he might actually be able to invoke the Insurrection Act. That would be a defining story of the week if he were to do it, and I just don’t think — I think we have to make sure that we understand to not take him at his word. He’s looking for a fight. He’s not trying to calm tensions.”

This is what politicians on the left want.

They want a national protest movement that will dominate headlines all summer long.

And now they’ve got it.

On Monday, SEIU was organizing protests in major cities from coast to coast…

The Service Employees International Union says rallies are expected to take place Monday in Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Denver, Harrisburg, New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Portland, OR., Raleigh-Durham, Sacramento, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington D.C., in addition to Los Angeles.

I think that New York City could be one of the next hotspots to explode.

On Monday, one group of particularly crazed protesters actually took over the lobby of Trump Tower for a little while…

Protesters railing against ICE raids took over the lobby of Manhattan’s Trump Tower Monday, with police making at least 24 arrests.

The protesters, expected to be charged with trespassing, started gathering around noon inside the famed Fifth Ave. tower, police said. There are not believed to be any injuries.

There will be highly disruptive protests all week long, and then on Saturday a number of prominent leftist groups are organizing gigantic “No Kings” gatherings…

The protests are slated to take place on June 14 in defiance of President Trump’s scheduled military parade in Washington, D.C. on the same day. Individual “partner” organizations, such as Michigan Resistance Coalition, Catholics Vote Common Good, and the ACLU, are involved in organizing the protests across the country, according to the No Kings website.

“On June 14—Flag Day—President Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday. A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isn’t staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else,” the “No Kings” website adds.

This isn’t some sort of spontaneous protest movement that has suddenly erupted.

All of this has been well planned and it is being well funded by donors with deep pockets.

Of course political chaos is just one element of “the perfect storm” that is now upon us.

So much has started to happen, and global events are moving very rapidly now.

Hopefully you are not located in one of our core urban areas, because the violence that we have experienced so far is just the tip of the iceberg.

Trump Responds To Mostly Peaceful Protests With Mostly Peaceful Military | Babylon Bee

LOS ANGELES, CA — According to sources, President Trump responded to fiery but mostly peaceful protests in the City of Angels by activating the mostly peaceful National Guard.

Governor Gavin Newsom has called the show of mostly peaceful force by the Trump administration “uncool.”

“What we have are mostly peaceful migrants making their voices mostly peacefully heard by throwing Molotov cocktails and looting businesses,” Newsom said. “All of which is protected by the Bill of Rights. Read the Constitution.”

But the situation on the ground hadn’t improved much as of Monday morning. Now, a battalion of 500 mostly peaceful Marines is reportedly on standby, preparing to enter California and retake the state from mostly peaceful arsonists and looters, joining the 2,000 mostly peaceful National Guard already deployed on the ground.

Trump said, “Maybe the National Guard isn’t mostly peaceful enough. Maybe it’s time to send in the mostliest peaceful of them all: the United States Marines.”

Governor Gavin Newsom has responded to Trump’s threat of additional mostly peaceful troops by threatening to sue, per California tradition. “If he doesn’t end this mostly peaceful tyranny, I may be forced to get violent in court,” he said.

Mostly peaceful war correspondents on the ground blasted Trump for wanting to send in the military, but later calmed down when he explained they were mostly peaceful, just like the violent rioters who deface the land they don’t want to be deported from.

“Killing is only 13% of what a Marine does,” Trump said. “The other 87% of a Marine’s time is spent doing horribly unspeakable things as well, but not killing.

At publishing time, California had been declared a mostly peaceful war zone.

Recently, Gov. Newsom weighed in on the Trump administration’s efforts to undo the last four years of border destruction, when an estimated 10-12 million illegal aliens entered the U.S. unlawfully—among them thousands with criminal records.

Of the recent Los Angeles efforts of ICE to detain those who entered and reside here illegally, the governor proclaimed:

“Continued chaotic federal sweeps, across California, to meet an arbitrary arrest quota are as reckless as they are cruel. Donald Trump’s chaos is eroding trust, tearing families apart, and undermining the workers and industries that power America’s economy.”

Dissect that statement, and almost everything Newsom said was either not factual or misleading.

“Chaotic?” What is chaotic is allowing 12 million unaudited migrants into the U.S. ahead of those waiting years for background checks and legal permission.

The current antidote to a truly chaotic, nonexistent border was to bring some legality and order back to immigration—and not to perpetuate a wild-west border, drug smuggling, cartel profiteering, and child trafficking and abandonment, which were the Biden-era norms.

Chaotic is 1,000 rioters in southern California swarming ICE officers, endangering their safety and lives—and then being contextualized, excused, or even supported by the governor of the state, who supposedly is an upholder of our laws and their enforcement.

Each time Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom side with violent protests and the intimidation of ICE officers, the greater the chance that an officer will be seriously injured or killed—and the violence will spike. Apparently, both think they are riding a wave of public support, when in fact the latest CBS poll found 54 percent of Americans support such deportations.

California’s elected officials seem clueless that the optics of illegal immigrants torching autos, attacking law enforcement, or pelting bystanders, while waving Mexican flags, are terrible. What is the logic of waving the flag of the country to which one is violently opposed to returning, while assaulting the officers and infrastructure of the very nation in which one is demanding to remain?

“Arbitrary arrest quota?” Consider the math. In just four years, Biden allowed between 10–12 million illegal entries, or 2.5–3 million a year, or somewhere between 200,000–300,000 per month, or between 7,000–8,300 a day.

Trying to find, audit, and deport even 10–20 percent of that daily figure, or 800–2000 a day over four years, is not an “arbitrary arrest quota.”

It is instead a formidable but often vain effort to return illegal immigration numbers to where they were before Biden’s systemic lawlessness.

In other words, with the current level of deportations, ICE cannot possibly reduce the population of illegal aliens back to the pre-Biden range of 10–12 million resident illegal aliens before the additional and contrived 10–12 million four-year influx.

In Newsom’s world, how many million breaking the laws and swarming the border are acceptable? Ten, twelve, or twenty million?

“Reckless?” What is reckless is destroying the southern border. Reckless is also allowing an unchecked amount of cartel fentanyl, disguised as prescription or less toxic illicit drugs, to kill 70,000–100,000 Americans per year.

Reckless is empowering the cartels with lucrative trafficking fees for facilitating illegal immigration across a destroyed border.

Reckless is drumming out of the military 8,500 American soldiers who balked at the experimental mRNA vaccine while allowing more than 10 million illegal aliens to flood the border without any medical or inoculation scrutiny.

Reckless is demanding 2–3 forms of independent IDs from U.S. citizens to qualify for the required “real ID” to fly, while allowing tens of thousands of illegal aliens to be exempt from even rudimentary identification.

Reckless is a governor leveling the highest income tax rates in the U.S., the highest gas taxes, among the highest aggregate sales taxes, and still ending up with annual multibillion-dollar deficits.

Reckless is driving 200,000–300,000 middle-class taxpayers out of the state every year, who cannot afford sky-high California prices and receive so few services in return for such high state taxes.

“Cruel?” Cruel is overtaxing state social service facilities with hundreds of thousands of foreign nationals, whose sheer numbers imperil the health care of California’s own beleaguered citizen population.

As far as ‘cruel’ governance, perhaps it is defined as the highest gas prices in the nation while sitting atop some of the largest gas and oil reserves in the country. Cruel is watching poor people in Fresno or Tulare County buy gas in increments of $30 in cash rather than filling up their pickups at a prohibitive cost of $130.

Cruel is the California high-speed rail boondoggle that has wasted nearly $30 billion without a single foot of track rail installed and may well be abandoned—its concrete overpasses now testaments to our modern Stonehenge monoliths.

Cruel are the state’s ossified “freeways”—especially the 101, the 99, and I-5—that have remained unchanged for the last half century and record some of the deadliest traffic statistics per mile driven in the U.S.

Cruel is what the state and city of Los Angeles did to their own residents during the recent fires.

Cruel is a derelict mayor—shamelessly attacking those who are trying to enforce federal law—junketing in Ghana of all places at the height of the fire season. Mayor Bass has about as much concern over violent protestors burning cars in Los Angeles as she did for neighborhoods burning while she junketed in Ghana.

Cruel was the Los Angeles deputy mayor (tasked with public safety, no less), who was arrested and convicted for reporting fake anti-Israel bomb threats.

Cruel was the Los Angeles water and power director who allowed a life-saving reservoir to remain abandoned and empty.

Cruel was the fire chief who obsessed over DEI hiring while leaving scores of fire hydrants across the city inoperative.

Cruel were state directives that prevented sane clearing of brush kindling that guaranteed plentiful fuel to ensure an inferno among Pacific Palisades homes.

Cruel were the Coastal Commission and the city of Los Angeles that make it almost impossible to rebuild burned-out homes promptly.

Cruel are destructive regulatory policies that have driven out of the state everything from Tesla to refineries to insurance companies, ensuring that the struggling and vanishing middle classes cannot afford the staples of life.

Cruel are the roughly 40,000 annual traffic accidents in Los Angeles County, after which the culpable drivers often flee the scene of the accident. Does the governor or mayor ever ask why that is so, or worry over the some 8,000 victims who are killed or injured?

Cruel are the state’s “renewable energy” mandates that have skyrocketed the cost of electricity and impoverished state residents—one in four of whom now default on their monthly power bills.

Cruel is the boutique leftism of a generation of elite multimillionaire Bay Area politicians—from Jerry Brown to Nancy Pelosi to Gavin Newsom—whose wealth, office-holding, influence, and zip codes ensured that they were never subject to the baleful consequences of their virtue-signaling ideologies that fell only on distant and vulnerable others.

Trust? Who could trust the state of California, which has become a bifurcated medieval society of the very rich and the subsidized poor, with a complete disdain for the struggling middle class who cannot afford houses, power, fuel, or insurance?

“Undermining?” Undermining is better defined as a governor and mayor deliberately ignoring or nullifying federal law in neo-Confederate fashion and siding with violent protestors, while offering the offenders implicit assurances of impunity.

President Trump spoke to reporters on Monday upon returning to the White House, where he responded to the “professional agitators” burning Los Angeles and California Governor Gavin Newsom’s taunts against Border Czar Tom Homan. 

When asked if Tom Homan should arrest Newsom, President Trump responded, “I would do it if I were Tom.” He further slammed Newsom as “grossly incompetent,” pointing to the failed high-speed rail project from Los Angeles to San Francisco that still hasn’t been completed after more than a decade and billions of dollars wasted.

As The Gateway Pundit reported on Sunday, Newsom dared Tom Homan to arrest him during an interview with the media at the LAPD headquarters.

“Tom, arrest me, let’s go, let’s just get it over with, tough guy,” Newsom said in response to Homan suggesting that he and LA Mayor Karen Bass could be arrested if they “cross that line” by harboring and concealing illegal aliens or assaulting law enforcement.

President Trump said he thinks it would be “a great thing” if Newsom were arrested.

He also said of the rioters in California that they are “professional agitators, they’re insurrectionists, they’re bad people,” and “they should be in jail.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom Announces Lawsuit Against President Trump as Violent Thugs Continue to Torch Los Angeles

California Governor Gavin Newsom has announced he is finally taking action as insurrectionists try to burn the Golden State’s most famous city to the ground. Of course, he is focusing not on the criminals but those trying to end the violence.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, violent protests broke out on Friday after ICE agents conducted multiple raids in downtown Los Angeles.

The riots continued into Saturday. Protesters started fires, threw projectiles at law enforcement officers, and damaged property in response to LA Mayor Karen Bass’s call for action against ICE agents. The situation turned south so quickly that Trump deployed the National Guard to restore order while Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom sat on their hands.

But things only escalated yesterday with thugs torching cars, attacking police horses, and continuing to assault law enforcement officials.

Newsom, though, says this is all Trump’s fault and announced this morning he would be suing him.

“This is exactly what Donald Trump wanted,” Newsom wrote on X. “He flamed the fires and illegally acted to federalize the National Guard.”

“The order he signed doesn’t just apply to CA, it will allow him to go into ANY STATE and do the same thing,” the California governor added.

“We’re suing him.”

This move by Newsom comes after he lashed out at Trump and taunted Border Czar Tom Homan amid violent anti-ICE riots in downtown Los Angeles.

Newsom dared Homan to arrest him during an interview with the media at the LAPD headquarters.

Happy Monday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friend. Alswop greatly enjoys dipping the occasional grilled cheese in a righteous consommé.

So, I’m angry. The situation in Los Angeles should have every red-blooded patriot seething.

I spent almost 25 years living in the City of Angels and loved everything about it. When I left, however, I knew that the city I loved would never be there for me again. This will probably seem weird to people, but both the city of Los Angeles and the state of California had Republicans in charge when I first moved there. Sure, they were squishy Republicans, but they were Republicans nonetheless.

Very quickly — like a viral disease — the Democrats took charge of the state and the city. Everything went bad from there. Here is something that Victoria wrote about what’s going on in L.A.:

Newsom, issued his coup de grace on his party’s planned unrest in Los Angeles: He demanded President Donald Trump recall orders sending the California National Guard to stop the violent protests in his state. 

The governor said basically that he didn’t need no stinking California National Guard.

Newsom sent the White House a strongly worded letter demanding that President Donald Trump rescind his order to federalize the National Guard and allow the protesters to continually commit acts of arson, beat up ICE officers, surround police cars, set strip malls on fire, and issue threats.

“We didn’t have a problem until Trump got involved,” said Newsom in his signature glottal fry while completely ignoring history and the weekend’s activities.

As always, Newsom was wrong about everything.

Los Angeles is falling apart because the Democrats have no respect for the rule of law. They actually champion criminals and lawlessness. It’s their raison d’être. The riots in Los Angeles are precisely what House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has been urging the Democratic base to do. He should be locked up along with all of the rioters. As I wrote last week: Arrest all the Democrats.

They get away with violence like this in blue states because they make it difficult for patriots to arm and protect themselves. Democrats want the populace to be defenseless. They don’t have any ideas that the good people of the Republic will vote for, so they want to force them upon us, Soviet-style. 

President Trump has handled the situation well thus far. I’m of the “Let’s iron fist these idiots” opinion, but I know that’s not yet warranted. Well, I think it’s warranted, but I know that there are steps to be taken before we get there.

What is happening in Los Angeles is exactly what is going to happen in every city where the Democrats are in control. Goodbye Denver. So long, Minneapolis. Hasta la vista Chicago. There isn’t any amount of overreach for President Trump right now. I hope he will use every means of force to shut these people down.

Forever.

America’s Political And Financial Capitals Were Just Hit By Lightning, And Now Our Entertainment Capital Is Being Devastated By Fire | End Of The American Dream

The past couple of weeks have been really, really strange.  On New Year’s Eve, four of the most iconic buildings in the entire country were all hit by lightning.  In our political capital, the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol were hit.  In our financial capital, the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center were hit.  Subsequently, there were terror attack in New Orleans and Las Vegas on New Year’s Day.  And now here we are a week later, and our entertainment capital is being absolutely devastated by fire.

In some areas of Los Angeles, it literally looks like a nuclear weapon exploded.  Some of the most iconic locations in the Los Angeles area have been wiped out, and even Hollywood Boulevard is being evacuated…

Hollywood Boulevard has been evacuated with 100,000 people told to flee with six wildfires raging as the apocalyptic skies of Los Angeles continue to fill with smoke.

Two new blazes broke out overnight in the Hollywood Hills and Studio City – forcing first responders to redeploy their already-scarce resources to the burnt landscape.

The National Guard has been deployed and could send in military personnel to assist, amid revelations that heroic firefighters are ‘triaging’ homes and neighborhoods.

One of the new fires that has erupted is located just west of the world famous “Hollywood” sign…

A new fire erupted in the Hollywood Hills near the “Hollywood” sign Wednesday evening.

There is a mandatory evacuation for Runyon Canyon and the Hollywood Hills.

The new fire dubbed “The Sunset Fire” came out of nowhere and exploded.

Hopefully they will be able to get these new fires under control very quickly.

Sadly, large numbers of expensive homes have already been lost, and this includes the homes of many big names in the entertainment industry…

By the afternoon, the Santa Ana wind-fueled fire had claimed the homes of more than half a dozen A-listers in the community perched above the Pacific ocean: Billy Crystal, Anna Faris, John Goodman, Anthony Hopkins, Eugene Levy and Miles Teller all lost homes there, according to social media posts and reporting by Page Six.

The Palisades home of Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, who walked the Golden Globes carpet together on Sunday, also burned down.

People Magazine has published a list of 47 major celebrities that have lost their homes so far.

We have seen homes owned by celebrities get burned down in past fires, but we have never seen so many get burned down all at once.

Unfortunately, many of those celebrities will be joining countless others in the exact same uninsured boat.  In 2024, large insurance companies ruthlessly terminated the policies of tens of thousands of California homeowners…

In 2024 Liberty Mutual and State Farm, two of the largest insurers in the country, told nearly 50,000 homeowners in the Golden State – some of whom were in high risk areas – that their fire insurance would be terminated in a bid to prevent ‘financial failure’.

At least 1,600 people in the affluent neighborhood of the Pacific Palisades – the hardest hit area of the fires – lost coverage when State Farm pulled out in April.

Furious residents are now publicly sounding off at insurance companies in the wake of the deadly blazes, with one local nurse slamming insurers for failing to renew the policy for her elderly parents.

What a nightmare.

Will the federal government come riding to the rescue?

On Thursday, it was being reported that the Biden administration has decided to cover 100 percent of the costs for “the initial disaster response”…

President Joe Biden on Thursday announced the federal government would cover 100% of costs for the initial disaster response to the Los Angeles wildfires.

Meeting with federal officials at the White House, Biden said the funds would go toward debris removal, temporary shelters, salaries for first responders and more for 180 days.

Biden said he emphasized to California officials they should “spare no expense to do what they need to do.”

As I discussed in a previous article, the total economic damage from these fires could be in the neighborhood of 50 billion dollars.

It will take years to recover, and Los Angeles will never look the same after this.

So precisely what will “rebuilding” look like in Los Angeles?

Prior to these fires, officials were planning to transform Los Angeles into a “smart city” by 2028…

Visitors for the 2028 Summer Olympics and Paralympics will find a transformational digital Olympic experience from the moment they arrive. Passing through LAX airport’s completely renovated terminals, they can use the new automated people mover to select between light rail airport connections, rideshare, or taxi transportation choices. They will be greeted by digital signage, directed by multi-lingual electronic wayfinding, and connected through their smartphone with the hotels, restaurants, and venues that they are looking for during their stay. Whether visiting Hollywood Boulevard or Venice Beach, visitors will use smartphones or easily accessible kiosks to learn in their own language about the landmarks and readily available services to enhance their experience, including blind or deaf visitors.

This vision is already becoming a reality. As a three-time United States Digital City Winner (2016-18), the City of Los Angeles has been investing and continues to invest in the infrastructure, digital services, and data tools to be a globally recognized Smart City. The SmartLA 2028 strategy is a concise summary of our vision, our approach to being a Smart City, and our roadmap to 2028.

At this stage, it is going to take an enormous mountain of money just to make the most heavily damaged areas of Los Angeles livable again.

And the destruction is far from over.

Since I began writing this article, even more new fires have erupted.

That is not good news at all.

The region continues to be under a “red flag” fire weather warning, and there is no rain in the forecast for the next week.

Hopefully the winds will at least die down in the days ahead, because that is what firefighters need more than anything else.

Of course once this disaster is finally over, it won’t be too long before more major disasters come rolling along.

We have entered a period of unprecedented global chaos, and I have a feeling that 2025 is going to be filled with lots of unpleasant surprises.
