Nearly half of Netflix’s shows expose children to LGBT indoctrination | WINTERY KNIGHT

I found an interesting article by Beth Brelje in The Federalist. She writes about how Netflix shows indoctrinate children in pro-LGBT propaganda. Children often believe false ideas for all sorts of bad reasons. Just think of how many take out student loans for degrees that don’t result in jobs with good salaries. After that, I have two studies about how TV influences our attitudes on LGBT.

First, the article from The Federalist:

Some 41 percent of children’s shows on Netflix are pushing the LGBT agenda, according to a recently released report by Concerned Women for America (CWA).

CWA analyzed Netflix programming ratings for children and found 41 percent of both G-rated and TV-Y7-rated series on Netflix contain LGBT content.

Why is this happening?

It is not an accident that more LGBT characters are being written into storylines across media. It is encouraged by the nonprofit Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).

Each year, GLAAD produces the “Where We Are on TV Report,” tracking representation.

“Between June 1, 2024 and May 31, 2025, GLAAD counted 489 LGBT regular or recurring characters in total. This is a 4% increase and 21 additional characters from 468 characters counted in the previous edition,” the 2025 report said.

What’s shocking is how much representation is aimed at children. LGBT activists are well aware that parents feel it is not a topic for their children to explore without parental guidance. Sneaking it into children’s programming is a blatant attempt to change the culture.

I ran into this problem when I was in my mid-20s. My co-workers were watching a television show called “Will & Grace” (which had nothing to do with soteriology). It was a portrayal of a gay character in positive ways, and this was having a huge effect on the attitudes of young people to LGBT.

It didn’t make any sense to me, because around that time I was reading books about LGBT by scientists, therapists and medical doctors like Jeffrey Satinover and Charles Socarides. But while I was getting more accurate views of LGBT, everyone else was watching propaganda. And they were coming to opposite conclusions than I did. This was especially troubling because at that time I wanted to get married. And what I found was that young Christian women in particular seemed to be getting liberal on moral issues. And today, it’s become a huge split between young men and young women. Even back then, parents and pastors didn’t seem to think that it was a big deal that young women were becoming more liberal because of TV shows and movies.

Let’s look at two studies about this topic and see if there is any data to support my thesis.

The first study is “Can One TV Show Make a Difference? Will & Grace and the Parasocial Contact Hypothesis“. It was published in the Journal of Homosexuality (Volume 53, Issue 4, 2007). This study tested whether repeated exposure to positive gay characters in Will & Grace (which aired from 1998–2006 and reached 25 million weekly viewers at its peak) could foster similar attitude shifts among straight audiences who rarely knew gay people personally. And what they found was that showing episodes of the show to undergraduate students reduced their opposition to LGBT. The more episodes shown, the more positive their views of LGBT.

The second study is “Exposure to the Lives of Lesbians and Gays and the Origin of Young People’s Greater Support for Gay Rights“. It was published in the International Journal of Public Opinion Research in November 2014. The study tested the impact of exposure to LGBT characters in popular media, focusing on the sitcom Grace Under Fire (1993–1998), which featured a recurring gay character. And what they found was that frequent viewing of the show produced more positive views of LGBT behaviors, as well as LGBT-friendly policies.

So, you can clearly see how watching TV shows and movies – which are fiction – can change your attitudes to be out of alignment with actual evidence. And I think that if those changes are related to areas where the Bible has spoken – like the definition of marriage, objective vs subjective truth, etc. – then it can cause people to turn away from the Bible and / or Christianity. The new feelings and attitudes that came from TV and movies clash with the Bible and Christian worldview, and the entertainment wins. For example, a young Christian might watch TV shows that paint divorce in a positive light, and then leave Christianity because it is too “restrictive” or “repressive” or “intolerant” or “bigoted”.

Consider the following movies:

  • Eat Pray Love
  • Sex and the City
  • The Bridges of Madison County
  • Fifty Shades of Grey
  • The Notebook
  • Pretty Woman

These movies are VERY popular with young people, but they portray very, very negative views of sex, marriage, male headship, child-bearing, etc. The important thing is NOT that these movies disagree with the Bible, with church, or with Christianity. The problem is that the views presented in these movies are FALSE views that can result in tragic life outcomes. These popular movies are teaching people to proceed on life plans that do not lead to successful outcomes. It’s as if people were learning from TV and movies to rely on the lottery for their retirement savings. This does not work in real life. And yet, because it is in the TV shows and the movies that have fancy clothes and big explosions and beautiful people, people chart the course of their lives based on their views.

This is very serious.

Lately, I have been spending a bit more time on cooking, weights and cardio. I was able to do this because I found good TV shows to watch while doing these things.

I watch shows like “The Rifleman”:

Season 1 playlist:

Season 2 playlist:

Season 3 playlist:

Season 4 playlist:

Season 5 playlist:

I also listen to military history audio books. For moral and truth issues, stick to non-fiction. I don’t recommend reading fiction at all.

I think video games are better than TV and movies, because you actually get to make plans and decisions and execute and adapt. If you use Steam, there are curators who detect woke content in games. I play military simulation games like The Troop or Armored Brigade II. Next year, I want to play Sea Power and Task Force Admiral. (You can watch me play The Troop on my YouTube channel). And I love solo military board games, like Skies Above BritainAtlantic Chase, and Carrier Battle: Philippine Sea. I don’t want to have my views change because of the entertainment I choose.

The Gospel Coalition Editor Quietly Removes Graphic Homosexual TV Show From His List of ‘Favorite Things’ | Protestia

Brett McCracken is the Senior Editor and Director of Communications at The Gospel Coalition. Every year, he posts his list of favorite movies and TV shows, often on the Gospel Coalition itself, and it is an under reported scandal that his favorite films frequently frequently contain graphic sex and nudity, both straight and gay.

McCracken’s Top 20 list of favorite shows in 2021, published on the Gospel Coalition platform, featured several that were rated ‘R’ for scenes of sex and nudity; his 2022 best movies list is full of graphic sex and nudity, and mercifully, his best films of 2023′ only featured a bit of sex and nudity.

For example, let’s review one of his “Best Movies of 2022′ that TGC published: the pornographic Norwegian film The Worst Person in the World.

This movie is rated R or 18+ in most countries for graphic sex and nudity throughout. Common Sense Media reveals that the film “follows the life of twenty something Julie (Renate Reinsve) as she navigates her way through life and various relationships. It deals with adult themes and sexual acts — both intercourse and oral sex — are portrayed on-screen, including full-frontal nudity.”

Kids in Mind has more details. Here is a sampling. Viewer discretion is advised.

After a woman breaks up with a man, they kiss passionately on a sofa, they move to the floor where the man removes the woman’s shorts and underwear (we see her bare legs, hip and the side of her buttock) and performs oral sex on her; the man stands up later and we see him without pants (his genitals and bare legs are shown). A man and a woman kiss passionately and remove each other’s clothing (we see his bare chest and abdomen); he thrusts on top of her (we see pubic hair, bare buttocks and bare breasts).

A woman lifts her shirt to show her bare breasts to a man (we see her bare breasts); he’s working and looks at her but is not distracted. A woman looks at another woman’s Instagram photos and we see her striking suggestive poses that reveal her partially bare buttocks, cleavage, abdomen, back and legs.

A woman pulls down a man’s pants in bed, and bites and slaps his bare buttocks (we see his bare buttocks). A man and a woman sit in bed (sex is implied) and we see the woman’s bare breasts and the man’s bare shoulders, chest and legs. A man and a woman sleep in bed together (we see their bare shoulders and sex is implied).

A woman is shown fully nude (we see her bare breasts, legs hips and abdomen) during a hallucination where she removes a soiled tampon and throws it in her father’s face.

During a hallucination, a woman imagines her fully nude body aged and we see her bare breasts, abdomen and buttocks as several people’s hands touch her; she also imagines an infant nursing from her breast.

Despite having the perverse and depraved viewing habit usually reserved for a 16-year-old boy passing the time at 2:00 am in his gooner basement, McCracken is so brazen that he and TGC are offering a $299 course on how to “Learn ways to evaluate and engage films from a Christian perspective.

In 2021, he released a list of his ‘favorite things on TV,’ and we couldn’t help but notice the inclusion of The White Lotus.

Appearing on HBO, this six-episode show is rated TV-M and contains tons of filthy language, sex jokes, sex scenes, copious amounts of male nudity, and some female nudity as well.

In fact, it contains (warning, graphic description aheada graphic sex scene featuring two fully nude men, where one has his face in the back-end of the other, doing very homosexual things to his anus with his mouth.

We’ve been able to pinpoint this scene to near the middle, based on online viewer feedback, which means even after he watched this scene, it was not enough to turn his stomach. Instead, McCracken kept on watching more episodes, understanding that he very well may see more of this content in the rest of the season, and then had the gall to list the season as one of his favorite things he watched.

Our criticism of the morality of the man leading The Gospel Coalition seems to have gotten to him, however. While the rest of this content is there, he recently edited this show out of his list of favorites, so that it doesn’t appear.

Thanks to the Wayback Machine, however, we saved it for posterity many years ago.

All this to say, when Brett McCracken releases a lengthy article on TGC criticizing Hollywood’s view of sex, we ought to rightly lambast them as the hypocrites they are. In 2018 McCracken wrote:

“The prevalence of sex and sexualized (often naked) bodies in today’s films and TV shows… is just one way Hollywood reveals its understanding of sex as a lust-driven consumer commodity. The very idea of sexual acts and sexualized bodies on a screen, for the gaze of the masses, presents sex in consumer terms—inviting third-party observers into a sexual intimacy that doesn’t belong to them but which feels like their prerogative to consume.”

Talk about ‘thou art the man.’

McCracken is one of these “third-party observers!”

In the same article that he laments the violative aspects of sex on screen, he discusses the film The Shape of Water, an R-rated flick about a romance between a woman and an amphibious beast, which he reviewed and did not like, and which features, in his own words, “an explicit scene of brazen, no-shame interspecies sex.” Kids in Mind again fills in the gap (content warning).

Why should anyone ever take them seriously?

Meghan Markle Announces New Netflix Show That Features Her Dealing With The Negative Fallout From Her Netflix Show | Babylon Bee

MONTECITO, CA — Meghan Markle announced another Netflix series in which she will discuss how she is dealing with the trauma of the bad reviews from her previous Netflix show.

Producers explained that the next show would follow the Duchess of Sussex as she seeks to discover the reasons for the failure of the last show.

“It’s an in-depth Netflix show about the failure of my Netflix show,” Markle said. “It’ll be eight episodes of me talking about how badly I felt reading all the fallout from people who watched the previous show. I need a lot of space to process the hate, and I invite a lot of my good celebrity friends over to help me work through the trauma.”

Markle’s first Netflix series “With Love, Meghan” garnered excoriating reviews, with social media reactions ranging from “This is pretty bad” to “I wish I’d been kidnapped by the CIA and waterboarded so I didn’t have to watch it.” The series featured episodes with her arranging pre-cut fruit on a tray, moving pretzels from one bag to another, and drinking margaritas on the lawn of her giant mansion.

In Markle’s new show, however, she will work through the pain of dealing with the negative reviews from her first show. “I want to be left alone,” she continued. “And I need privacy, and I can’t deal with this trauma and, José? Are you getting all this on camera? These are real tears!”

At publishing time, Markle and Netflix had already announced a third show to deal with the negative reviews from the second show in which she copes with the bad reviews from the first show.

SOCIALISM: A Christian Response (Part 4) | VCY

Welcome!

I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re giving a Christian response to socialism.

Despite socialism’s popularity with young people today, it’s free enterprise that best reflects both a biblical worldview and human nature when it comes to economics.

One economic principle the Bible clearly teaches is that hard work should be rewarded. Proverbs 12:14 says, “From the fruit of his mouth a man is satisfied with good, and the work of a man’s hand comes back to him” (ESV).

You see, God designed humans to work, want to dream, achieve, and then reap the benefits of their labor. In contrast, socialism dampens the human spirit, discouraging — and sometimes prohibiting — people from reaching their potential.

As economist Milton Freidman said, “[T]here is no alternative way so far discovered of improving the lot of the ordinary people that can hold a candle to the productive activities that are unleashed by the free-enterprise system.”

And how else should Christians respond to socialism? We’ll discuss them another time.

SOCIALISM: Dangers (Part 4) | VCY

Welcome!

I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about socialism again.

Socialism is heralded as a movement “of the people,” but the truth is that, wherever it’s tried, socialism leads to less freedom and more government control.

In socialist countries like North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and China, ruthless dictators came to power by promising the people equality but then quickly took away basic rights like freedom of religion, speech, and assembly. Because these dictators demanded absolute authority, those who opposed their regimes were often imprisoned or executed.

Sen. Ted Cruz’s father, Pastor Rafael Cruz, who was imprisoned by Cuba’s socialist government, said, “Socialism requires that government becomes your god.”

While socialism promises freedom and equality, the reality is that it oppresses the very people it promises to help, leaving them more fearful and less free.

As Proverbs 28:15 says, “As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.” (KJV)

Of course, there is another problem with socialism, and we’ll discuss that another time.

CANCEL CULTURE: A Christian Response (Part 4) | VCY

Welcome!

I’m Bub Kuns, and today I’m talking about “cancel culture” again.

The best way believers can respond to “cancel culture” is by sharing God’s truth and supporting it with sound logic and evidence.

But HOW we respond, well, that matters, too.

Colossians 4 tells us, “Let your speech be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how to answer every man.”

In other words, we need to challenge those who disagree with us — and even those who try to cancel us — WITHOUT BEING HOSTILE OR UNREASONABLY ARGUMENTATIVE.

This doesn’t mean we compromise our message, but that we share biblical truth in a way that maintains a good testimony. 1 Peter 2 tells us, “For this is the will of God, that by DOING GOOD you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people.”

Doing this will make a big impact.

And how else should we respond to “cancel culture?” We’ll discuss them another time.

CANCEL CULTURE: Understanding Its Danger (Part 4) | VCY

Welcome!

I’m Bub Kuns and today I’m continuing to talk about “cancel culture.”

In recent years, “cancel culture” has come for our history. Statues of Columbus, Jefferson, and even Lincoln have been removed from public venues. The reason: liberal activists’ contention that these historical giants had character flaws that outweigh their contributions to society.

Of course, these men were flawed — JUST AS WE ALL ARE.

But as Christianity Today’s Bonnie Kristian stated, QUOTE: “We are created for good but, without Christ, we are captive to evil … Any understanding of human beings with this beginning will not be shocked to find real good and great evil in the same life, as indeed we find both in our own hearts.” END QUOTE.

Fact is, no historical person was perfect, except for Jesus. No person except for Jesus is without character flaws. So if you want to cancel history by removing statues of flawed imperfect people, the only ones left would be statues of Jesus.

Now, how should Christians respond to “cancel culture?” We’ll discuss that another time.

‘I Have Avoided AI In Every Way’: Pastor Issues Big Warning Against Artificial Intelligence | Faithwire

Artificial intelligence has become ubiquitous in modern society, but, despite its broad presence, its effects — whether good or bad — remain a mystery.

Nashville-based Pastor Russ Ramsey, an amateur art historian and author, recently appeared on CBN’s “Faith vs. Culture,” where he talked about concerns he has over the prevalence of AI, especially as it pertains to artistic expression.

“I’ve avoided AI in every way, shape, or form,” Ramsey said. “Because I’m a writer, I don’t ever want to not be the one who’s writing the words that I use, even if they’re not as precise or tight as an AI generator might make a paragraph.”

The crux of Ramsey’s concern with AI is simple yet profound: it doesn’t have a soul.

Ramsey’s argument is rich in biblical truth. While Scripture isn’t perfectly clear about the parameters of the soul, the Bible’s writers, each of whom were inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16-17), are unambiguous in their acknowledgment that — as beings made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27) — humans are firstly souls and secondarily bodies.

Listen to the latest episode of “Quick Start”

https://playlist.megaphone.fm/?p=CCBNC3640195386

In Acts 2:41, for example, the Apostle Luke referred to human beings who received salvation as “souls.”

“Part of what makes so much of the art that we go visit in museums so powerful is it’s made from someone with a soul and somebody who has experienced suffering,” Ramsey explained. “AI doesn’t know what suffering is and AI doesn’t have a soul.”

“So technically — and even creatively — we can see things we never would have imagined seeing before, but it’s not coming from someone who’s wept,” he continued. “It’s not coming from someone who’s buried a loved one. It’s not coming from somebody who’s been caught in sin and had to repent. And, in that sense, my concern is that, culturally, we’re moving to a place where we’re trying to normalize avoiding those parts of the human experience that really are integral to spiritual growth.”

While Ramsey certainly addresses the issue of AI from a Christian perspective, it’s a topic that has, in recent years, garnered a great deal of consternation.

Last year, Hollywood actors went on strike over a host of matters, including the use of artificial intelligence in celebrities’ performances. Studio executives and actors were battling over whether performers’ images could be scanned, paid for a day of acting, and their likenesses used by film and television studios in perpetuity, according to Wired.

Needless to say, the conversation about AI and its role in society is not going away. So it’s important to have conversations about a biblically moral approach to its use and value.

You can watch our full, wide-ranging conversation with Ramsey in the “Faith vs. Culture” episode above.
