Trump Says Meeting with Putin was “Very Good” – “Very Happy to Hear Him Say, if I Was President, that War Would Have Never Happened.” | The Gateway Pundit

President Trump said in an interview on Friday evening that he wants to see the death end in Ukraine, and his negotiations with President Vladimir Putin to end the war earlier in the day was “very good.”

“But we’ll see. I mean, you have to get a deal,” he said. “We agreed on a lot of points.”

President Trump joined Fox News’ Sean Hannity following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, on Friday.

The three-on-three meeting at Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson included President Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and their Russian counterparts.

WATCH:

Trump: We had a very good meeting today, but we’ll see. I mean, you have to get a deal. We agreed on a lot of points. I want to see people stop dying in Ukraine, and that’s what’s happening. We’re losing 5, 6, 7, thousand. They’re Russians, mostly Russians, and they’re Ukrainian soldiers, and there’s some people dying in cities and towns, where they’re trying to blow up missile manufacturers and other things. In some cities, I don’t know if you know what’s going on there, but there are a lot of people dying. And if we can end that war, it would be very good. And I was very happy to hear him say, if I was president, that war would have never happened.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump and Putin came to a tentative agreement to secure peace between Russia and Ukraine after a three-hour-long meeting at Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska.

Still, Ukraine and NATO are “going to have to agree,” Trump stated, noting that “there’s no deal until there’s a deal,” and “it’s ultimately up to them.”

“We really made some great progress today,” he said.

At one point, during a post-meeting press conference with Putin and Trump, Putin confirmed to reporters that the war would have never even started if the election wasn’t stolen from Trump in 2020. “I’m quite sure that it would indeed be so,” Putin said.

Putin also drew contrasts between Trump and Biden, saying that Trump is “results-oriented,” “has a very clear idea of what he would like to achieve,” and “sincerely cares about the prosperity of his nation” before taking aim at Biden for being uncooperative during their last meeting.

“I’d like to remind you that in 2022, during the last contact with the previous administration, I tried to convince my previous American colleague that the situation should not be brought to the point of no return when it would come to hostilities, and I said that quite directly back then that it’s a big mistake.”

650,000 fighting-age men have fled Ukraine – Telegraph | RT

The authorities in Kiev have struggled to deal with widespread draft evasion throughout the conflict with Russia

650,000 fighting-age men have fled Ukraine – Telegraph

At least 650,000 Ukrainian men of fighting age have fled the country since the conflict with Russia escalated in 2022, The Telegraph reported on Thursday. Others are hiding inside Ukraine or bribing officials to avoid being sent to the front, as the military faces its worst manpower crisis, the newspaper wrote.

According to the report, draft evasion in Ukraine is “tipping into crisis” amid Russian advances in the Donetsk region. Earlier this week, DeepState, a monitoring group with ties to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, described the situation as “chaotic” with Russian troops “accumulating forces for further advancement.”

Kiev’s general mobilization, which mandates all able-bodied men aged 25 to 60 to serve in the armed forces, has failed to make up for ongoing battlefield losses and has led Ukrainian commanders to voice concerns over persistent manpower shortages.

Desertions are rising sharply, Ukrainian MP Anna Skorokhod said last week, adding that almost 400,000 Ukrainian servicemen have abandoned their units without authorization, and many – including volunteers – have no plans to return due to abysmal treatment from superiors.

Ukraine is “visibly losing the war,” The Telegraph wrote, citing military analyst Konrad Muzyka, who pointed to infantry shortages and the declining effectiveness of its drone operations.

Many Ukrainians are avoiding conscription out of fear, the newspaper added. As troop numbers dwindle, even support personnel such as mechanics and radar operators are being reassigned to infantry roles, according to one draft evader in hiding, who said every new recruit is sent directly to the front line.

Widespread videos on social media show Ukrainian draft officers employing forceful and sometimes violent tactics – chasing men, dragging them into unmarked vans, and assaulting both those targeted and nearby civilians. This has led to growing public outrage over what is now widely known as “busification.”

In response, many potential recruits have attempted to escape the country by crossing treacherous terrain or rivers, often with fatal consequences. Ukrainian border guards have intercepted thousands of such attempts and, in some cases, have used firearms against fleeing individuals.

The Big Moment Has Arrived – This Is Why The Meeting Between Trump And Putin Will Be One Of The Most Important Events In Modern History | The Economic Collapse

Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are about to make decisions that could radically alter the trajectory of human history.  When they meet in Alaska on Friday, the stakes will be incredibly high.  If they are able to agree to some sort of a deal, the world will rejoice.  But if the meeting goes badly, there will be immense pressure on western leaders to militarily intervene in Ukraine in order to prevent Russia from taking as much territory as it wants.  At the moment, Russian forces are moving forward quite rapidly.  If negotiations can stop them, western leaders will be thrilled.  But if talks fail, the conflict in Ukraine will dramatically escalate, and that will put us dangerously close to nuclear war.

On Wednesday, President Trump was asked about what will happen if the Russians do not agree to end the war.

President Trump responded by warning that there will be “very severe consequences”

US President Donald Trump promised “very severe consequences” on Russia if its President Vladimir Putin doesn’t agree to end his war in Ukraine during the two leaders’ meeting on Friday.

“There will be consequences,” Trump just said during an event at the Kennedy Center in Washington.

Asked if that meant new sanctions or tariffs, Trump demurred.

“I don’t have to say,” he said, adding only: “There will be very severe consequences.”

This was not a wise thing to say just before such an important meeting.

As I have stated over and over again, threatening the Russians will not work.

If Trump insists on making threats, it will backfire severely.

The Russians have already said that they are willing to end the war, but they want certain things in return.

Of course what the Russians have proposed is not acceptable to the Ukrainians or to our European allies at all, and that is not likely to change any time soon.

A virtual conference that included Trump and leaders from all over Europe was held on Wednesday, and President Trump felt that it went very well

The president joined a call earlier on Aug. 13 with Zelenskyy and European leaders, two days before Trump’s one-on-one summit with Putin in Alaska. Trump is trying to push Moscow into a peace deal that Kyiv and its allies fear will include the loss of significant territory seized by Russia in its three-year war on Ukraine.

“I would rate it a 10,” Trump told reporters on August 13 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. “Very friendly.”

Zelenskyy was in Berlin for the virtual conference hosted by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz that included the leaders of Finland, France, Great Britain, Italy, Poland, the European Union and NATO. Vice President JD Vance was also expected to join the portion that included Trump.

Following the virtual conference, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz made it exceedingly clear where our European allies stand…

The German leader said Ukraine would need a seat at the table if peace was to be reached in Ukraine, and that he told Mr. Trump he would speak to him after his Alaska meeting with Putin.

“We want to make sure that the right chronology happens: that there is a ceasefire and that there is an agreement that is discussed after that,” he said. “A legal recognition of Russian ownership of this territory cannot happen. There have to be robust security guarantees. The sovereignty of Ukraine has to be respected. Negotiations have to be part of a larger transatlantic strategy, and has to be part of necessary pressure on Russia.”

Merz added, “If there is no movement on the Russian side, we and the U.S. have to put more pressure on Russia. President Trump knows this position and largely agrees with it, and we had a good conversation with each other.”

Merz obviously does not want a peace agreement to happen, because there is no way that the Russians are going to agree to any of that.

The Russians are not going to give one inch of the territory that they have taken in the five provinces of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Crimea back to Ukraine.

In fact, the Russians want Ukraine to hand over all of the territory that the Ukrainians are still holding in those five provinces.

If Ukraine is not willing to hand over all of that territory, Russia will simply take it.

That is the Russian position, and they see no reason to compromise because they are clearly winning the war.

When asked about Trump’s suggestion that there could be some “swapping of territories”, the Russians made it very clear that this is a non-starter…

Russia pointed to its constitution in response to a remark by U.S. President Donald Trump that there would likely be a “swapping of territories” in a deal to end Moscow’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

Trump is due to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday to discuss a peace deal. Territorial control is a key issue. Russia has seized about a fifth of Ukrainian land in the east. Ukraine controls no Russian territory.

Asked about Trump’s suggestion that Russia and Ukraine could swap land, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Alexei Fadeev said at a news briefing on Wednesday that there was “no need to even invent anything territorial.”

“The structure of the Russian Federation is enshrined in the Constitution of our country,” Fadeev said, originally in Russian. “That says it all.”

The Russians also want Ukraine to be permanently banned from joining NATO.

This is something that the Ukrainians and our European allies are adamantly against.

So I have no idea why so many pundits think that a deal is possible, because the two sides are not even in the same universe when it comes to what an acceptable deal would look like.

Ahead of the meeting on Friday, the White House has been trying to play down expectations

“This is a listening exercise for the president,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Aug. 12. “This is for the president to go and to get a more firm and better understanding of how we can hopefully bring this war to an end.”

I give Trump credit for being willing to sit down with Putin.

The window of opportunity for a peaceful solution is almost closed, and so let’s hope that this last-ditch effort is successful.

Because if it isn’t successful and we get to the “very severe consequences” phase, that will have massive implications for all of humanity.

20 years ago, if someone told you that a day would come when the only thing standing between us and nuclear war would be Donald Trump, would you have believed it?

But here we are.

The meeting in Alaska on Friday really will be one of the most important events in modern history, and the fate of our society is hanging in the balance.

Trump Negotiates Russian Ceasefire By Giving Putin California | Babylon Bee

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The bloody years-long conflict between Ukraine and Russia was finally brought to an end this week, as President Donald Trump successfully negotiated a ceasefire between the countries by agreeing to give Vladimir Putin California.

The deal was struck after several months of stop-and-start negotiations between the two sides mediated by Trump, with Russia finally agreeing to bring the hostilities to an end after being gifted the entire state of California as a substitute for the territory it coveted from Ukraine.

“It’s a great deal for every party involved,” Trump told reporters when announcing the agreement. “I told everyone before that there would be some land changing hands as part of a ceasefire. Putin wanted something, and it needed to be good, so I said, ‘How about California? It’s not what it once was, but it’s not bad,’ and he said he’d think about it. He called back later and said he’d take it. We’re signing the papers tomorrow, believe it or not. Great deal. Ukraine gets peace, Russia gets California, and we don’t have to deal with Governor Gavin Newscum anymore. Now he’s Putin’s problem.”

A spokesman for the Russian government confirmed the agreement. “It is good deal,” the representative said. “We have need for land. We wanted Crimea and the Donbas, but California is ok. We hear the beach is nice. There are many tacos. We like tacos.”

At publishing time, Putin had reportedly ordered Russian military units to begin the process of clearing celebrities out of Hollywood to make California more inhabitable.

Exhausted Ukraine Is Ready to Cede Territory Held by Russia in Exchange for Peace: REPORT | The Gateway Pundit

Kiev regime leader Volodymyr Zelensky and his his grey eminence Andriy Yermak – Wiki Commons.

Slowly but surely, Kiev seems to be adjusting its territorial demands to reality.

In the runup to the Donald J. Trump-Vladimir Putin peace talks in Alaska on Friday 15, Kiev regime leader Volodymyr Zelensky was featured in dozens of news outlets repeating the same line, as we reported yesterday:

The Washington Post: “Ukraine will reject any proposal that involves ceding territory to Russia, Zelensky says”; BBC News: “Volodymyr Zelensky says Ukraine will not give up land as Donald Trump suggests idea ahead of meeting Vladimir Putin in Alaska”; Reuters: “‘Ukrainians will not give their land to occupiers,’ President Zelenskiy said”; The Straits Times: “Zelensky says Ukraine will not cede land to Russia for peace”; Bloomberg: “Zelenskiy Rejects Ceding Land as Key Security Officials Meet”.

But now, it seems that he has clarified that he will not cede land ‘that he still holds.’

The Ukrainian stated goals went down from demanding the 1991 borders back (meaning they’d even want the Crimean Peninsula returned) to making a stand for the 2020 borders (regaining all the 25% of territory lost in the war) and now, they appear to only want to keep of what they still have.

British press is reporting that Ukraine may ‘agree to stop fighting and cede territory already held by Russia’ as part of a plan for peace.

Will Zelensky hear the Ukrainian citizens who want peace negotiations? Gallup says it’s 70%, Trump says it’s 88%.

The Telegraph reported:

“Volodymyr Zelensky told European leaders that they must reject any settlement proposed by Donald Trump which sees them giving up Ukrainian land they still hold – but that Ukrainian territory in Russia’s control could be on the table.

This would mean freezing the frontline where it is and handing Russia de-facto control of the territory it occupies in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Crimea.”

The exhausted Ukrainian defenses are crumbling while Kiev delays the peace.

“’I have many fears and a lot of hope’, Donald Tusk, Poland’s prime minister, said on Monday. He added that US officials had pledged to consult European leaders ahead of the face-to-face talks between Mr. Trump and Putin.”

As we have reported earlier here in TGP, the opponents of the peace talks are reacting to a plan that, plausible as it seems, has never been officially announced by either the US or Russia.

The supposed peace plan would be endorsed by Moscow, and it included ‘freezing the front lines in south-eastern Ukraine’ (that is, in Kherson and Zaporozhie) if Ukraine ‘agrees to withdraw from areas of Donetsk and Luhansk that it controls’.

Gallup Poll Shows Seven in Ten Ukrainians Want Negotiations to End the War | The Gateway Pundit

Will Zelensky implement the clear popular will?

In the fourth year of the war in Ukraine, its population has had enough.

With millions having fled the country, with more than a million dead or seriously wounded, hundreds of thousands AWOL, and just as many hiding in their homes from forced mobilization, the citizenry has reached a breaking point.

Now, a new poll shows that nearly seven in 10 Ukrainians now say they want a negotiated end to the war with Russia.

The new Gallup polling, originally reported by Semafor, comes as US President Donald J. Trump has confirmed that he will meet Russia’s Vladimir Putin next week – probably in the UAE.

70 percent of Ukrainians want a peace agreement negotiated as soon as possible, according to a Gallup [@Gallup] poll. pic.twitter.com/GcucBZwRhz

— TVP World (@TVPWorld_com) August 7, 2025

Semafor reported:

“Support among Ukrainians for continuing the war until a potential victory has plummeted to 24%, down from 73% in 2022, the poll found. Ukrainians’ views of US leadership have also tanked; just 16% approved in the polling conducted last month, down from 66% in 2022.

Despite that low view of Trump-era Washington, 70% of Ukrainians continue to see the US as playing ‘a significant role’ in any negotiations with Putin.”

Overwhelmed Ukrainian defenses have reached their limit.

According to the latest Gallup polling data, only 24% of Ukrainians want to fight “until Ukraine wins the war” while 69% want to negotiate an end as soon as possible.

“BuT uKrAiNiAnS wAnT tO fIgHt!”https://t.co/VY9nKc4rLx

— Brad Pearce (@WaywardRabbler) August 7, 2025

From the Gallup website:

“Most Ukrainians now favor ending the war with Russia through negotiations, as support for fighting until victory has dropped sharply since the early days of the conflict. Although their hopes for joining NATO and the European Union have faded and approval of U.S. leadership has plummeted, Ukrainians still see the EU, U.K. and U.S. as key to ending the war. Yet, most doubt that will happen anytime soon.

More than three years into the war, Ukrainians’ support for continuing to fight until victory has hit a new low. In Gallup’s most recent poll of Ukraine — conducted in early July — 69% say they favor a negotiated end to the war as soon as possible, compared with 24% who support continuing to fight until victory.

This marks a nearly complete reversal from public opinion in 2022, when 73% favored Ukraine fighting until victory and 22% preferred that Ukraine seek a negotiated end as soon as possible.”

European Union Suspends ALL Aid to Ukraine as Kiev Continues to Pressure the Anti-corruption Agencies | The Gateway Pundit

Zelensky finally went too far covering-up for corruption in the opinion of his European backers.

German paper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) has published a report (behind a paywall) claiming that the European Union has made a severe economic threat against Ukraine, following the lightning-fast approval, on July 21, of legislation to scrap the independence of the anti-corruption agencies NABU and SAPO.

And now, it seems that the threats have already materialized.

TASS reported:

“The European Union informed Ukraine on July 24 that all financial assistance has been ‘put on hold’ pending the resolution to concerns over the independence of the country’s anti-corruption agencies, the Ekonomicheskaya Pravda (or Economic Truth) newspaper reported, citing sources within the Ukrainian government, parliament and diplomatic circles.

The suspension primarily affects the ERA program (Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration for Ukraine) program, which was to provide 17.2 billion euro in emergency loans funded by frozen Russian assets until end of year, and the Ukraine Facility program, which was to allocate 12.5 billion euro in financial support.

The Ukrainian parliament is set to review the draft law aimed at guaranteeing the independence of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), on Thursday, July 31. Since no aid tranches were expected in the coming days, the passage of the new law in the Verkhovna Rada could lead to a resumption of EU funding, eliminating any real consequences of the debacle for Kiev.”

This acomes after the EU had already suspended €1.5 bn in aid over the crackdown on the abti-corruption agencies.

Zelensky is facing the first popular protests since the beginning of the war, and now threats from his international partners.

Ukrainska Pravda reported:

“EU officials are preparing for a scenario in which, on Thursday 31 July, during a vote in the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine’s Parliament), MPs either fail to pass any legislation restoring the independence of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), or adopt amendments that result in only partial restoration.

As reported by Ekonomichna Pravda, ‘on 24 July, EU representatives informed PM Svyrydenko’s government via diplomatic channels that they are suspending all financial aid to Ukraine’. ‘Everything is on pause until the situation is rectified’, one source stated.

An EU official involved in this communication confirmed to European Pravda that Brussels has indeed issued a warning to Kyiv but clarified the scope of the freeze: ‘Yes, the EU has warned Kyiv. If the law is not passed, loans financed through revenues from frozen Russian assets under the ERA program will stop – we will simply stop disbursing them. Funding from the EBRD and EIB will also be suspended’, the official stated on condition of anonymity.”

Zelensky backtracks on controversial anti-corruption bill | Denison Forum

Earlier this week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a controversial new bill that threatened to undermine his country’s efforts to limit corruption. The legislation gave oversight of the nation’s only two independent investigative bodies—the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP)—to the prosecutor general, a position appointed by the same government those bodies were meant to investigate.

Still, the law was not without its merits. Its stated goal was to limit Russian influence while streamlining an investigative process that too often failed to yield the kind of timely results Zelensky wanted.

The Ukrainian president pointed to “criminal proceedings worth billions” that have gone years without progress as an example of why a shakeup was needed. Moreover, rooting out Russian influence seems particularly important given that one of NABU’s top detectives, along with another high-ranking officer and at least thirteen other staff members, were recently accused of being Russian spies.

Still, the bill’s critics question the legitimacy of those arrests, arguing instead that they were used as a pretext to undermine the agency. They see it as the latest and most brazen example of a government sliding back into the corruption that has plagued it for most of the nation’s history.

In response to the bill’s passage, thousands of Ukrainians took to the streets in what amounted to the largest protests since Russia invaded in February of 2022.

And it was not just Ukraine’s citizens who took note. Leaders from Germany, France, Sweden, and the UK joined in condemning the bill, with Ursula von der Leyen—the head of the European Commission—warning that the law could imperil Ukraine’s attempts to join the EU.

That pressure came to a head on Thursday.

What was the point?

News broke yesterday that Zelensky was ready to introduce a new bill that would essentially walk back all the major provisions of the one he signed on Tuesday. However, the protests are likely to continue until it becomes law.

Considering that the same parliament that passed the previous law would have to approve this one as well, some doubt whether they will be willing to do so. For now, the new bill remains in limbo with a vote set for Thursday, July 31.

However, the way in which Zelensky moved so quickly speaks to the level of pressure that he faced. While he neglected to give credit directly to the protests of his people and the nations upon whom his government depends, he went so far as to allow the anti-corruption agencies to play a part in crafting this new legislation.

As a result, the two groups he sought to bring under government control now enjoy an even greater and more explicitly mandated level of independence than before. In return, the only additional change of consequence that occurred due to the controversy seems to be the institution of polygraph tests for law enforcement officers.

In total, the event served as a powerful reminder of how far Ukraine has come as well as how far they have left to go.

Why the protests matter

William Barclay once wrote, “The fact is that if we realized what some people have to go through, so far from condemning them, we would be amazed that they have succeeded in being as good as they are.”

No objective analysis of Ukraine would argue that it is a nation free of corruption, and there is good reason to think that remains the case even at the highest levels of its government. But it’s hard to go from one of the world’s most corrupt governments and a society in which large parts were run by the mob to the kind of democracy that its people are ostensibly trying to achieve today.

It certainly helps that their continued survival depends, in large part, on continuing to uphold those standards as a prerequisite for European support. But, ultimately, its people will determine what kind of government they live under.

As the protests and unrest of recent days demonstrate, Ukrainian citizens appear more afraid of becoming like Russia than they are of the actual Russians. That is a remarkable change given where they were even ten years ago. And there is an important lesson in their example for each of us today.

Fix your eyes on Jesus

In Paul’s second letter to Timothy, he writes, “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” (2 Timothy 2:22) Both parts of that instruction are vital.

Far too often, our attempts to flee temptation keep our eyes fixed on the sins we’re running from rather than the God we should be running to. When that happens, we may avoid those dangers for a time, but we will inevitably trip and fall eventually.

Our heavenly Father wants more for our lives than a perpetual avoidance of sin. There is little joy or peace to be found in spending our days trying not to mess up. God didn’t make us for that kind of struggle.

Instead, Christ’s call was to bring our burdens to him and accept his yoke with the promise that, when we do, we will find rest. (Matthew 11:28–30)

So where is your focus today? Are you more concerned with avoiding sin or serving Jesus?

Keep your eyes fixed on Christ, and the rest will take care of itself.

Let’s start today.

MSM Flips on Zelensky, Starts Reporting on Ukraine Corruption – Kiev Regime Leader Backtracks and Files New Bill Restoring Independence to Anti-graft Agencies | The Gateway Pundit

The news outlets have soured on Zelensky.

The war made Zelensky famous – and the corruption of the Kiev regime made him infamous.

The mainstream media – and people who give credence to their reporting – live in an upside-down world.

Take Ukraine leader Volodymyr Zelensky, for example: described as a ‘new Winston Churchill’, a heroic figure of nearly mythological standing.

In real life, Zelensky is a ‘president’ whose mandate ended more than a year ago, who leads a via martial law a regime packed with real-life Nazis, rampant corruption, censure of the press, outlawing of opposition parties, arresting or exiling popular opponents… the list goes on – and don’t even get us started with his widely rumored substance abuse.

Now, all of a sudden, the world’s MSM is slowly but surely turning a cold shoulder to the ‘moderately successful comedian’.

The reason is simple: the Kiev regime was reportedly on the verge of being struck by corruption investigations targeting the close circle around Zelensky.

So, they fast-tracked a bill defanging the anti-corruption agencies NABU and SAPO, subjecting them to the control of the Presidency via the prosecutor general.

Everyone and their uncle came public to protest, including the European Union and the US.

Watch: Trump once again suggests US military aid funds to Ukraine were stolen.

Trump suspects that Kyiv has misused the funds provided by the Biden administration for arms purchases.

Sure … obviously pic.twitter.com/qh48j31bB5

— Lord Bebo (@MyLordBebo) July 24, 2025

Listen to this bit: “Biden gave away $350 billion worth of equipment or cash, worse than equipment, cash. So, we want to find out about that someday, I guess, right? But they were supposed to buy their own equipment, but I have a feeling they didn’t spend every dollar on the equipment, but they are brave.”

And the subservient press also felt free to unleash on the Kiev regime.

Politico reported on the ‘insidious and corrosive adversary from within — the country’s own semi-autocratic leadership’.

“This is what opposition lawmakers and civil society activists have been arguing for months, as Ukraine’s presidential administration has been grabbing more power, weakening other governing and regional institutions — including the country’s parliament — while also intimidating critics in a bid to silence them with hue-and-cry campaigns or by labeling them as Russian stooges.

They say the extent of this democratic backsliding became clearer this week after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy gutted Ukraine’s two key anti-corruption agencies, which had been zeroing in on top government officials. The move prompted the first country-wide street protests since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in 2022.

In Kyiv, hundreds of protesters gathered near the presidential complex while crowds of veterans, active-duty soldiers and civilians gathered in dozens of other towns, including Lviv and the frontline cities of Odesa and Dnipro. Despite the rallies, Zelenskyy approved the new law, which will hand substantial authority over the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) to the politically appointed prosecutor general.”

Reuters lionized the young protesters against Zelensky:

“Their energy has created a festival-like atmosphere tinged with focused anger outside the office of President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, whose image as a tireless wartime leader has been tarnished by his moves to curb anti-corruption agencies.

‘I think now that I’m 18, I have a certain responsibility’, Morhun, a native of eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk, said late on Wednesday amid the din of a second night of the biggest protests since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.”

— Chay Bowes (@BowesChay) July 23, 2025

And an opinion piece in The Telegraph calls for Zelensky to resign – something unthinkable even a few weeks ago.

“A new Ukrainian president would mark a reset moment – especially if he or she was ready to protect the rights of Russian speakers in Ukraine, a key demand of the Kremlin’s and, ironically enough, also of the EU.

Zelensky has played an epic role in saving his country from destruction. Now there is a danger of his imitating his corrupt predecessors, and he should step aside, for Ukraine’s sake.”

You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing.

Finally, it appears that Zelensky has capitulated to the protests and the pressure from the West, and canceled his own anti-corruption reforms.

Slavyangrad reported:

“Bill 13533, presented by Zelensky as urgent, restores all procedural powers and guarantees the independence of NABU and SAP, reports the anti-corruption bureau.

The bill submitted by Zelensky states that the Prosecutor General and his deputies have no right to give instructions to SAP prosecutors. It also says that SAP employees report only to the head of SAP and his deputies.

According to the bill, the Prosecutor General is prohibited from giving instructions to NABU detectives.

[…] All the provisions that were canceled by the bill adopted by the Rada on Tuesday, signed by Zelensky himself, have been restored.”

For a second day, street protests were held in Kiev and many other cities, targeting Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky and his decision to defang the independent anti-corruption agencies and subordinate them to his own Prosecutor General – at a moment where people close to him had become targets for graft investigations.

❗️ – Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak shared a video of ongoing protests in Kyiv against efforts to reduce the authority of anti-corruption agencies NABU and SAP.

According to RBK-Ukraine, the footage shows the square in front of the Ivan Franko Theater in Kyiv.

With all the world’s attention focused on the unprecedented protests, Zelensky can’t have his thugs open fire in the crowd to disperse them, so he appears to be either caving to the pressure, or else trying to appear to do so to deflate the movement.

He is now promising a new anti-corruption bill, while still insisting that the state agencies ‘need to be purged of Russian influence’.

Lord Bebo reported:

“I spoke with NABU Director Semen Kryvonos, SAPO Prosecutor Oleksandr Klymenko, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, and Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk. We discussed various challenges.

The anti-corruption infrastructure will work. Only without Russian influence, it needs to be cleared of that. And there should be more justice”

Russian channels note that the NABU and SAPO agencies were set up by Victoria Nuland and other US officials, so in a way this move from Zelensky would aim to curb American influence.

Zelensky will submit a presidential bill to the Rada that ‘will preserve the independence of anti-corruption bodies in Ukraine’.

“Of course, everyone has heard what people are saying now — on social networks, to each other, on the streets. This is not in vain. We have analyzed all concerns, all aspects of what needs to be changed and what should be activated. I will propose to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a bill that will be a response, which will ensure the strength of the law enforcement system. There will be no Russian influence or interference in the activities of law enforcement agencies, and — this is very important — all norms for the independence of anti-corruption institutions will be preserved.”

In the meantime, various Kiev allies have criticized Zelensky’s decision.

Sputnik reported:

“German Chancellor Merz and French President Macron plan to hold ‘intensive talks’ with Zelensky regarding Ukraine’s recent moves to weaken anti-corruption institutions, according to German media.

The concern? Ukrainian authorities’ controversial decision to subordinate formally independent anti-corruption bodies to the Prosecutor General’s Office.”

On the other side of the Atlantic, even major warmonger Senator Lindsay Graham torched Zelensky for cutting the powers of Ukraine’s anti-corruption agencies.

He warned it ‘undermines progress’ and ‘risks future US support’.

Euronews reported:

“Thousands of Ukrainians rallied in Kyiv and other cities on Tuesday, urging Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to veto legislation which critics say undermines the country’s anti-corruption infrastructure.

The protest marked the first major rally against the government in more than three years of Russia’s ongoing, full-scale invasion.

Ukraine’s parliament had passed a bill which tightened oversight of two key anti-corruption bodies – the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). Opponents warn the measure could weaken the independence of the agencies and increase political influence over investigations.

Despite public outcry, Zelenskyy reportedly signed the bill into law on Tuesday.”

EU Commissioner Marta Kos criticized the new law.

In the meantime, Military Intelligence Chief Kirilo Budanov, a young and popular leader that reportedly was about to be replaced by Zelensky but saved by US intervention, weighed on the issue.

Kyiv Independent reported:

“Nations torn by infighting will lose, [Budanov] said on July 23, amid a new law that threatens the independence of Ukraine’s anti-corruption institutions.”

“‘Ukrainian history has taught us — a nation loses if it is torn apart by internal contradictions’, Budanov said in a post to Telegram.

[…] ‘We have one common trouble, one enemy. Therefore, internal contradictions should be resolved through open dialogue to achieve a single common goal — to defend our country. I am confident that Ukraine will be saved by a strong military and institutions’, Budanov said.”

Threatening The Russians With An Ultimatum Will Backfire Severely And Will Set The Stage For Nuclear War | The Economic Collapse

So is this how it all ends?  I don’t even know how to describe the emotions that I am feeling right now.  There was so much hope a few months ago that there would be peace, but both sides appear completely uninterested in making substantial compromises at this point.  Instead, both sides are poised to dramatically escalate the war.  If we continue going down this path, it isn’t going to end well.  For decades, our leaders have been conducting war game scenarios in which a conflict in Ukraine leads to a nuclear war.  Now a conflict in Ukraine could lead to a nuclear war for real.  I feel like I am watching a slow-motion train wreck happen without any way to stop it.  It really is quite a sickening feeling.

We have a very limited window of opportunity to make peace with the Russians, and we are totally blowing it.

In February, I specifically warned that President Trump must not resort to threatening the Russians over the war in Ukraine because it would backfire severely.

When I woke up today, I learned that is exactly what Trump has decided to do.

Trump has issued a very ominous ultimatum.  If Russia does not end the war in Ukraine within 50 days, the U.S. will impose “very severe tariffs” on all nations that do business with Russia.  In addition, Trump has approved a massive new weapons package for Ukraine…

Trump announced July 14 that the United States is sending weapons to NATO, which plans to transfer the equipment to Ukraine, and also threatened steep tariffs aimed at impacting Russia’s ability to finance the war.

Trump said that the United States would put secondary tariffs on countries that do business with Russia if a peace deal is not reached within 50 days.

“We’re going to be doing very severe tariffs if we don’t have a deal in 50 days,” Trump said.

The deadline that Trump has set falls in September, which I found to be very interesting.

If Russia does not end the war in Ukraine by the deadline, and that is very unlikely to happen, Trump says that all countries that do business with Russia will be hit with 100 percent tariffs

“We’re going to be doing secondary tariffs if we don’t have a deal within 50 days. It’s very simple,” Mr. Trump said in the Oval Office, alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. “And they’ll be at 100%.”

“We are very unhappy, I am, with Russia,” the president explained.

China does a tremendous amount of business with Russia.

Are we going to hit the Chinese with 100 percent tariffs?

That would not be good for our economy at all.

Much more importantly, the enormous new weapons package that Trump is sending to Ukraine will significantly escalate the conflict.

It is being reported that the U.S. will sell approximately 10 billion dollars in weapons to European countries, and those European countries will turn around and distribute those weapons to Ukraine.

According to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, nations all over Europe are very eager to participate in the “first wave” of this program…

Rutte, who said the decision was built on the “tremendous success” of last month’s NATO summit when nearly every nation in the alliance agreed to increase their defense spending to reach 5% of their nation’s GDP, called the move “logical.”

“This is again European nations standing up,” Rutte added. “I’ve been in contact with many countries, I can tell you at this moment Germany, massively, but also Finland and Denmark and Sweden and Norway, we have the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Canada – they all want to be part of this.

“And this is only the first wave. There will be more,” Rutte confirmed. “So what we will do is work through the NATO systems to make sure that we know what Ukrainians need.”

This isn’t going to end the war.

It is just going to make it even worse.

Apparently this new aid for Ukraine will likely include long-range missiles that will be capable of striking targets deep inside Russian territory

Now, two sources tell Axios that it’s likely a new weapons package will include long-range missiles capable of attacking deep inside Russia to include Moscow. They noted that a final decision hadn’t been made. “Trump is really pissed at Putin. His announcement tomorrow is going to be very aggressive,” warmongering South Carolina Sen. Lindsey told Axios.

At the end of 2024, the Biden administration brought us right to the brink of nuclear war by allowing the Ukrainians to fire long-range missiles provided by the United States deep into Russian territory.

Now we are going to do it again?

Are we mad?

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy certainly sounds like he can’t wait to get his hands on the long-range missiles that are coming…

Ukrainian forces will continue targeting Russian troops and doing everything possible to bring the war onto Russian territory, including preparing new long-range strikes, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

“Our units will continue to destroy the enemy and do everything possible to bring the war onto Russian territory. We are preparing our new long-range strikes,” Zelenskyy said.

According to a decorated British Army commander named Hamish de Bretton-Gordon, the plan is for Ukraine to receive long-range missiles that “can strike Moscow”

Mr de Bretton-Gordon told The Sun: “These weapons can strike Moscow – over 400 miles from the border. That allows the Ukrainians to strike drone factory production and ammunition sites, and others.

“So this will have both psychological as well as physical effects.

“People in Moscow will realise that they potentially could be targeted.

“And when you also add to it the American bombings on Iranian sites that were supposed to be impregnable, it shows that American missile and drone technology rather superior to the Russian air defence system.”

Let me ask you a question.

If another country launched long-range missiles at Washington D.C. and New York City, what would we do?

The answer to that question is obvious.

If long-range missiles provided by the United States start falling in Moscow, the Russians will respond very forcefully.

In fact, Hamish de Bretton-Gordon has openly admitted that the Russians have already been strongly considering the use of nuclear weapons…

In a Telegraph op-ed, the former Colonel and expert on weapons of mass destruction stated: “The fact that Putin and his gangsters have threatened nuclear attack continuously since the wider war in Ukraine began suggests they are thinking about it in detail.”

The former Colonel expressed concern over the prolonged conflict in Ukraine, stating: “As three days have become three years plus, they may think they can finish off Ukraine quickly with tactical nukes and we would not react.”

We are playing with fire.

Meanwhile, the government of the Philippines is quietly coordinating with Taiwan in anticipation of a coming war with China…

Faced with intensifying Chinese encroachment at sea, the Philippines increasingly sees its national security as intertwined with that of Taiwan and is quietly ramping up both formal and informal engagement with the self-governing island, including on security, according to government officials, defense analysts and diplomats here.

This marks a significant departure from Manila’s conservative approach toward Taiwan and could pave the way for the Philippines, a U.S. treaty ally, to play a bigger role if China makes good on its threats to invade Taiwan.

“Any force projection of China within our area is a matter of extreme concern,” Philippine Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro said in an interview Thursday.

And we are being told that Israel is preparing for the next time that it will strike Iran…

-In a recent meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu, President Trump, while preferring a diplomatic solution, did not object to Israel’s readiness to launch further strikes.

-This stance comes as Israeli intelligence believes Iran could still recover a significant amount of near-bomb-grade uranium from the damaged Isfahan site.

-The situation has created a high-stakes standoff, with Washington leveraging the threat of future attacks to push Tehran toward a deal, while an unconvinced Israel prepares to act alone if necessary.

In my new book entitled “10 Prophetic Events That Are Coming Next”, I specifically warn about war with Russia, war with China, and war in the Middle East.

This isn’t a game.

Decisions that are being made right now will greatly alter the course of human history, and hundreds of millions of lives are hanging in the balance.

How the ‘News’ Media Distort About the Cuts to Medicaid | LewRockwell

A typical example is the Politico article, on July 3rd, “Three reasons why Republicans cut Medicaid”, which at its opening asks and answers the question: “why did the GOP slash deeply into the health insurance program in its megabill? Three reasons: [1] Republicans desperately needed money to avoid a big tax increase next year, [2] they wanted to claw back Biden-era policies GOP lawmakers say led to lax eligibility checks and more fraudulent benefit claims and [3] they wanted to curb the Medicaid expansion enacted by then-President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats in the Affordable Care Act.”

Here’s the far-more-basic and decisive truth, which all of the ‘news’-media — both of Democratic Party billionaires, and of Republican Party billionaires — hide:

Almost all of the “waste, fraud and abuse” in the U.S. federal Government is in the U.S. military, which consumes over half of all of the funds that the Presdent and Congress each year authorize to and do spend — and even only the Defense Department’s portion of that, which constitutes around two-thirds of America’s annual military spending, wastes (by means of fraud and abuse but especially corruption, which enormusly inflates the costs of America’s weaponry), the vast majority of the waste in the U.S. Government’s annually allocated funds. Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency DOGE virtually ignored it, though the U.S. Defense Department is the ONLY federal Department that is SO corrupt that it has NEVER BEEN AUDITED. Instead of Musk (and Trump) focusing on that, they just ignored it and concentrated instead upon ‘waste, fraud and abuse’ in the spending that DOES serve the public (instead of serve merely the investors in firms such as Lockheed Martin, which sell only to the U.S. Government and its allied Governments (such as in NATO and in the Gulf Arab kingdoms and Israel). Those firms know that in order to control their markets they need to control their own Government, the U.S. Government — which they DO control, which is why over half of U.S. federal discretionary spending now is for the military. Only this way can their sales-volumes and the prices of their goods and services continue soaring far higher than for the firms in the rest of the stock market — as they have been doing ever since the Soviet Union ended in 1991 and ‘terrorism’ and other propaganda points became the new focus so as to produce the constant and forever-war American economy that we have had ever since 1991 — the military-industrial complex (MIC) unleashed and running wild and eating up the America that serves the other people, the ones who DON’t own and control those firms (the firms that PROFIT from wars).

Unlike in countries such as Russia and China, which refused to privatise their armaments-manufacturers (the Government owns them by more than 50%), our armaments firms are PRIVATELY owned and controlled — for profit, NOT for the public; for the billionaires, and not to protect the nation against actual enemies.

For a typical example of how this works, a study published in 2022 by Bernstein Research found (as reported on its page 75) that, for one typical ‘defense’ corporation, Northrop Grumman, its “stock has outperformed the S&P 500 by 451% over the last 10 years.” Furthermore, “Defense stocks … also tend to outperform through recessions and are uncorrelated with inflation.” That’s the type of extraordinary profitability that a corporation which controls its own market normally achieves; and, in the U.S., ‘defense’ stocks started taking off like a rocket in 1991 and have been continuing that astounding growth ever since. The less necessary that a capitalist nation’s military is for protecting the nation, like in the U.S. since 1991 when the Soviet Union ended, the more profitable its military manufacturers are, because the corruption then becomes virtually unlimited (see this and this for the evidence). Right now, the U.S. Government spends 65% — almost two-thirds — of the entire world’s military expenditures — almost twice what all of the world’s 200 other nations together spend. Now, THAT’S corruption, on a massive scale! It’s shown right there, in those numbers.

Right now, the Trump Administration (just like Biden’s had done) has been and is pressuring their colonies (‘allies’) to increase their military expenditures, in order to keep this soaring wealth for their billionaires going. On June 25th, Reuters headlined “NATO commits to spending hike sought by Trump” and reported: “NATO leaders on Wednesday backed the big increase in defence spending that U.S. President Donald Trump had demanded, and restated their commitment to defend each other from attack after a brief summit in the Netherlands.” Continuation of the current U.S.-backed wars and perhaps starting some new ones, will be needed in order to make this happen; and, so, as the U.S. Government has been doing ever since 1945 and especially after 1991 (when the Soviet Union ended), what’s needed is creating international chaos, civil wars, and failed states. But this also means that existing wars must be continued as long as possible. Furthermore, on 8 January 2025, the President-elect Donald Trump indicated that if his previously announced intention for the U.S. to buy Greenland, and the Panama Canal, gets rejected in the negotiations, then he will seize them militarily, because “We need them for economic security.” This means that he uses the military not ONLY for national security (which is the defensive use of it) but ALSO for “economic security” (which is the aggressive use of it — as being an additional tool in order to gain economic advantage against other countries — to use the military in order to acquire new colonies or else to cement one’s rule over existing colonies). And he said there that the same thing might apply also to Canada. So: Denmark, Greenland, Canada, and America’s other colonies, could soon find themselves at war against America — no longer is it only such countries as Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela, and North Korea, that the U.S. regime targets. It would mean the utter destruction of international law.

How evil is this? On 22 October 2024, I headlined “How the U.S. Government Became Plain Evil in 1980”, and said of an early U.S. advocate for replacing the purely defensive geostrategy of America’s nuclear weapons (“M.A.D.” to prevent a WW3) by instead an aggressive global-supremacist strategy to ‘win’ such a nuclear war by destroying ‘the enemy’ even more than the U.S. would be destroyed, such as now is the U.S. plan, for its nukes (“Nuclear Primacy” to ‘win’ WW3) — actually for the U.S. Government to take over the entire world:

Advocates of the view that nuclear weapons exist only in order to prevent any need to use them were consequently presented, by him, implicitly, as being now either fools or traitors. He said that MAD simply “ignores the intensely ideological nature of modern international relations. In a world dominated by two such ideological foes as the United States and Soviet Union,” winning is the only moral option. In other words: his neoconservative (purely zero-sum or win-lose no win-win — it’s instead a supremacist) view took seriously ONLY win-lose games, no win-win ones. He was assuming that this was a war between communism versus capitalism, and not a war by the United States rulers in order to win control over the entire planet (as has actually been the case ever since President Truman started the Cold War on 25 July 1945). Then, after the end of the Soviet Union and its Warsaw Pact military alliance in 1991 and America’s refusal to end its NATO anti-Soviet military alliance but instead to expand that alliance right up to Russia’s border and to take up again Hitler’s Operation Barbarossa aim to conquer Russia, something extremely heinous became blatantly apparent about prior U.S. allegations that America’s rulers weren’t, in fact, insanely imperialistic (the ‘anti-communist’ excuse for the Cold War had now clearly been shown to have been just that: an excuse), but no U.S.-and-allied newsmedia called attention to this by-now-(after-1991)-amply-proven fact of the lying U.S. regime’s heinous character; and, so, this nation is, by now, definitely a dictatorship that has effectively controlled all of its newsmedia, too, in order to hide from the public what it was actually trying to achieve — the global dictatorship that America’s rulers have, in fact, been aiming to achieve. Other than in a few small-audience far-outside-the-mainstream newsmedia (such as this one), nobody at all was calling attention to the fact that (and why) NATO is intensely evil and must be abolished immediately. Neoconservatism — advocacy for an all-encompassing U.S. global empire — has virtually 100% control in The West. Western publics have been so surrounded by neoconservative media, they cannot think outside that box, of hatred against ’the enemy’ that America’s billionaires have targeted to ‘regime-change’, whatever that might happen to be at the given moment — but ESPECIALLY now concerning both Russia and China (though capitalism now predominates in both of those U.S.-targeted countries). The evil is, and has always been, imperialism (never really capitalism or communism), but no one in Western media is allowed to call attention to this brute fact, that imperialism is always the enemy, which fact explains international relations today.

All recent American Presidents and Congresses have been purely win-lose, zero-sum, not at all win-win, leaders. It’s now clearly the character of the U.S. Government. Short of there being a Second American Revolution (a domestic U.S. uprising to overthrow and replace it with a win-win one), it will remain America’s Government until its end. It certainly is that way today.

On January 1st, I headlined “UK, Germany, Italy, France, Japan — Likeliest for Economic Crash This Year”, and documented that the 2023 average electricity prices for industrial users ($ per MWh) was $266 in Germany, $63 in Russia, and $60 in China. In U.S., it was $85. The highest price of all was in UK: $420. Germany’s $266 price was the second-highest. In terms of economic competitiveness, China and Russia are the best, and UK and Germany are the worst, of all major countries. How can a country such as Germany compete economically against China, Russia, and U.S.? It can’t. Why? Is it because Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022? Definitely not! It is because the U.S. Government (followed by its obedient colonies in Europe) placed sanctions against Russian energy imports, which were by far the least expensive energy-sources for Europe, because pipelined-in from Russia instead of containerized and then sent by ship (such as from across the Atlantic in America) and rail and truck. In addition, the U.S. Government blew up the Nord Stream pipelines that were to expand gas-imports to Germany from Russia (and that were partially owned by Germany — a supposed ‘ally’ of Germany).

On January 6th, I headlined “The Hidden Lies Behind America’s Destruction of Europe” and described how the U.S. regime had forced its colonies to do this — to commit economic suicide.

And now the American people, with Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” (which the American public loathe), the American people OURSELVES will be swallowed-up by this voracious monster, our billionaires, which is actually bipartisan in America, BOTH of its political Parties. This is the opposite of democracy: Polling proves that vast majorities of the U.S. public detest Trump’s budget-and-tax priorities. Furthermore, an extraordinarily extensive Yale poll of nearly 5,000 Americans, published on June 27th, found that when respondents are informed of what is in Trump’s budget-and-tax bill, only 11% approve, 78% disapprove of it. Would it become law in a democracy? Of course not! This recent polling simply confirms what prior polling has already shown.

On February 14th, the AP headlined “Where US adults think the government is spending too much, according to AP-NORC polling”, and listed in rank-order according to the opposite (“spending too little”) the following 8 Government functions: 1. Social Security; 2. Medicare; 3. Education; 4. Assistance to the poor; 5. Medicaid; 6. Border security; 7. Federal law enforcement; 8. The Military. That’s right: the American public (and by an overwhelming margin) are THE LEAST SUPPORTIVE of spending more money on the military, and the MOST SUPPORTIVE of spending more money on Social Security, Medicare, Education, Assistance to the poor, and Medicaid (those latter five being the functions the Republican Party has always been the most vocal to call “waste, fraud, and abuse” and try to cut — but those 5 were the most-favored by the American public). Meanwhile, The Military, which actually receives 53% (and in the latest year far more than that) of the money that the Congress allocates each year and gets signed into law by the President, keeps getting, each year, over 50% of the annually appropriated federal funds. Furthermore, the U.S. Defense Department is the only Department of the federal Government so corrupt, so intensely corrupt, that it has never been audited.

Trump is increasing the military and border security, and decreasing education, assistance to the poor, Medicaid, federal law enforcement, and even Social Security and Medicare (the latter two by laying off many of the people who staff those bureaucracies). This Government’s policy-priorities are like the public’s turned upside-down — in other words: are the REVERSE of the public’s — and therefore the U.S. Government right now is a perfect example of a dictatorship. One might say that this is so in only the Executive branch, but it’s not necessarily true: Trump’s bill passed in BOTH houses of the U.S. Congress.

Every national Government that includes public elections between competing politicians has degenerated into control by the richest, because the richest donate more than half of all of the money that is donated to political campaigns, and they can and do aways spend enough on politics to deceive enough voters to vote against any candidate who refuses to be bought, so that only the candidates who are willing to do what their megadonors say — obedient candidates (obedient to the billionaires especially) — will have any real chance to win a major public office. So, if a democracy is to be defined as ONLY a system that includes public elections between competing politicians, then it will always degenerate into an aristocracy of the super-rich, which is a type of dictatorship (sometimes called by such names as “aristocracy,” “oligarchy,” “plutocracy,” etc.), NOT a democracy.

So, that is a phony definition of “democracy” (though it’s the normal way that “democracy” is defined), because a democracy is instead a Government by representatives of each citizen equally, without regard for wealth, religion, ethnicity, or any other attribute — it is (and the term “democracy” can realistically be applied ONLY to) “Equal Justice Under Law” — and it CAN exist but never yet HAS existed (because of that false common definition for it*). A TRUE definition of “democracy” is instead: A democracy is a Government whose policy-priorities are the same as its public’s policy-priorities are. On June 6th, I headlined “How to Create an Authentic Democracy” and described the only type of way that it can even possibly be achieved. I welcome any inputs regarding my proposal, and you can reach me about this definition and associated system via email by clicking here.

——

* Documentation of the falsity of the common definition of “democracy” can be found here. Given that the common definition (the one that necessitates public elections by competing politicians) for it is empirically false, the need exists for a true definition of democracy. I have provided in this article what I believe that to be: a Government whose policy-priorities are the same as the public’s policy-priorities are. And I have described here how that could be instituted.

West waging ‘centuries-old war’ against Moscow – Russia’s top UN diplomat | RT

The Ukraine conflict cannot be properly understood without looking at history, Vassily Nebenzia has said

West waging ‘centuries-old war’ against Moscow – Russia’s top UN diplomat

Western nations are using Ukraine as their proxy in a longstanding confrontation with Russia, which is deeply rooted in history, Russian Ambassador to the UN Vassily Nebenzia has told RT’s Rick Sanchez.

In an interview on Sanchez Effect aired on Friday, Nebenzia argued that the conflict “should be seen in a larger context.”

“They do not care about Ukraine. This is not a war between Russia and Ukraine,” he said. “Ukraine is a proxy in this war. This is a centuries-old war of the West against Russia, starting with the Polish invasion in the 17th century.”

Nebenzia cited Napoleon’s invasion of Russia, the 1854-56 Crimean War, Western military intervention during the Russian Civil War, and the invasion by Nazi Germany and its allies in World War II. He stressed that Hitler’s army included not only Germans, but also units drawn from allied countries and occupied territories.

The Ukrainians and “their sponsors” in the West sabotaged the 2014-15 Minsk accords, which were aimed at ending the conflict between Kiev and the breakaway Donbass republics, the Russian diplomat said. Former French President Francois Hollande and former German Chancellor Angela Merkel later admitted that the agreement was used by Kiev to buy time and rearm, Nebenzia stated. “We are not going [to fall] into the same trap once again,” he said.

He added that politicians such as former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson similarly helped derail the 2022 peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.

Ukraine’s European backers were forced to adjust their position, Nebenzia argued, after US President Donald Trump launched efforts to broker peace and Ukrainian troops began losing more ground.

“They changed their rhetoric from ‘We should inflict strategic defeat on Russia’ to ‘Russia should not win in this war.’ Now they are advocating for a full, immediate, and unconditional ceasefire, which is testimony that they want to shield and protect their proxy, as they are obviously losing on the battlefield,” he said.

Nebenzia added that the resumption of direct Russia-Ukraine negotiations earlier this year provides hope that the conflict will be resolved soon.

Russian MASSIVE ‘Retaliation’ Air Raid Campaign Continues Unabated for a Second Night – Trump Says Ukraine ‘Gave Putin a Reason To Go In and Bomb the Hell Out of Them’ (VIDEOS) | The Gateway Pundit

For a second night in a row, Russian Federation forces pounded military targets in Kiev, Kharkov and many other Ukrainian cities, in what many see as retaliation for the Ukrainian terrorist attacks on civilian trains in Bryansk and Kursk, and – of course – for the drone raid on Russian strategic airfields.

Russian military Telegram channel Military Chronicle has put forward a thought-provoking theory that the ‘retaliation’ will take the form of a prolonged series of missile and drone raids over the next days.

“Russia’s missile strike on the night of June 5-6, 2025, according to the latest information, was not a separate action, but the start of a series. The structure of the attack, the depth of damage, and the choice of targets indicate a transition to a phase of fire impact stretched over several cycles. If the pace continues, strikes can be expected in the coming days on the remaining critical nodes: the Kiev Hydroelectric Power Station (as well as energy facilities that were refrained from), the Dnepr Hydroelectric Power Station, and individual 750 kV substations linking the central and eastern energy systems of Ukraine.

The form of the strikes, apparently, will remain the same: combined waves of Geraniums, medium- and long-range missiles, with reconnaissance based on the traces of previous damage and repeating the cycle. The key difference is not so much in the means, but in the rhythm. If earlier the Ukrainian air defense in the center of the country could cope with isolated raids, now, with a high level of saturation and alternation of weapons, it is no longer possible to do this in full. Especially against the background of losses of equipment that is difficult to replace, such as the Patriot air defense system.”

Ukraine’s most reckless attack: Was NATO behind it? | RT

The logistics, timing, and technology behind the attack raise bigger questions about who was really involved

Ukraine’s most reckless attack: Was NATO behind it?

While Western headlines celebrated Operation Spider’s Web as a daring feat of Ukrainian ingenuity, a closer look reveals something far more calculated – and far less Ukrainian. This wasn’t just a strike on Russian airfields. It was a test – one that blended high-tech sabotage, covert infiltration, and satellite-guided timing with the kind of precision that only the world’s most advanced intelligence networks can deliver. And it begs the question: who was really pulling the strings?

Let’s be honest. Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence didn’t act alone. It couldn’t have.

Even if no Western agency was directly involved in the operation itself, the broader picture is clear: Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence, its military, and even its top political leadership rely heavily on Western intelligence feeds. Ukraine is deeply embedded within NATO’s intelligence-sharing architecture. The idea of a self-contained Ukrainian intel ecosystem is largely a thing of the past. These days, Kiev draws primarily on NATO-provided data, supplementing it with its own domestic sources where it can.

That’s the backdrop – a hybrid model that’s become standard over the past two years. Now, let’s look more closely at Operation Spider’s Web itself. We know the planning took roughly 18 months and involved moving drones covertly into Russian territory, hiding them, and then orchestrating coordinated attacks on key airfields. So how likely is it that Western intelligence agencies had a hand in such a complex operation?

Start with logistics. It’s been reported that 117 drones were prepped for launch inside Russia. Given that numerous private companies in Russia currently manufacture drones for the war effort, it wouldn’t have been difficult to assemble the necessary devices under that cover. That’s almost certainly what happened. Components were likely purchased domestically under the guise of supplying the “Special Military Operation.” Still, it’s hard to believe Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence could have pulled off this mass procurement and assembly alone. It’s highly likely Western intelligence agencies played a quiet but crucial role – especially in securing specialized components.

Then there’s the explosives. If the operation’s command center was located in the Ural region, as some suggest, it’s plausible that explosives or components were smuggled in via neighboring CIS countries. That kind of border-hopping precision doesn’t happen without outside help. In fact, it mirrors tactics long perfected by intelligence services in both the US and Western Europe.

Members of delegations attend a second round of direct talks between Russia and Ukraine at the Ciragan Palace in Istanbul, Turkey on June 02, 2025.
Fyodor Lukyanov: Kiev’s drone strikes prove Moscow’s point

Because make no mistake: this wasn’t just the CIA’s playground. European services – particularly those in the UK, France, and Germany – possess the same capabilities to execute and conceal such an operation. The NATO intelligence community may have different national flags, but it speaks with one voice in the field.

The real giveaway, however, lies in the timing of the strikes. These weren’t blind attacks on static targets. Russia’s strategic bombers frequently rotate bases. Commercial satellite imagery – updated every few days at best – simply can’t track aircraft on the move. And yet these drones struck with exquisite timing. That points to a steady flow of real-time surveillance, likely derived from signals intelligence, radar tracking, and live satellite feeds – all tools in the Western intelligence toolbox.

Could Ukraine, on its own, have mustered that kind of persistent, multidomain awareness? Not a chance. That level of situational intelligence is the domain of NATO’s most capable agencies – particularly those tasked with monitoring Russian military infrastructure as part of their day job.

For years now, Ukraine has been described in Western media as a plucky underdog using low-cost tactics to take on a larger foe. But beneath the David vs. Goliath narrative lies a more uncomfortable truth: Ukraine’s intelligence ecosystem is now deeply embedded within NATO’s operational architecture. Real-time feeds from US and European satellites, intercepts from British SIGINT stations, operational planning consultations with Western handlers – this is the new normal.

Ukraine still has its own sources, but it’s no longer running a self-contained intelligence operation. That era ended with the first HIMARS launch.

Western officials, of course, deny direct involvement. But Russian investigators are already analyzing mobile traffic around the impact sites. If it turns out that these drones weren’t connected to commercial mobile networks – if, instead, they were guided through encrypted, military-grade links – it will be damning. Not only would that confirm foreign operational input, it would expose the full extent of how Western assets operated inside Russia without detection.

At that point, no amount of plausible deniability will cover the truth. The question will no longer be whether NATO participated – but how deep that participation ran.

Ukrainian officials have claimed that Moscow launched multiple waves of missile and drone strikes on Kiev and other cities across the country overnight. The Russian Ministry of Defense has yet to comment.

Multiple explosions were reported across several districts of Kiev and its suburbs early Friday morning, with mayor Vitaly Klitschko claiming that Ukrainian air defenses were engaging incoming missiles and drones. The official initially said that debris had only fallen on the territory of non-residential buildings. He later claimed that at least four people were killed and 20 injured.

Surveillance footage reportedly captured by a CCTV camera somewhere in the Kiev region appeared to show the moment a US-supplied Patriot air defense system attempted to engage an incoming missile with four interceptors before apparently being hit.

Blasts were also reported in the western regions of Ternopol and Lviv, in the western Ukrainian city of Lutsk, in Kremenchug in central Ukraine, and elsewhere across the country. Multiple blurred out videos shared across Ukrainian social media appeared to show the aftermath of the strikes, but the exact locations and the facilities targeted were hard to verify.

The Russian Defense Ministry has not yet issued a statement on the incident. Moscow regularly carries out drone and missile strikes on Ukrainian military infrastructure, insisting that its operations do not target civilian facilities – and blaming Kiev for placing its air defenses in densely populated areas.

Kremlin confirms Putin warning after Ukrainian drone strikes

On Sunday, Ukrainian drones struck multiple Russian airbases in a coordinated assault targeting long-range, nuclear-capable bombers. Moscow said that most of the incoming drones were intercepted, without confirming any irreparable losses or carrying out any immediate military response.

Kiev also targeted multiple civilian sites in acts of railway sabotage over the weekend, killing at least seven people and injuring over 120 in what Moscow branded acts of terrorism.

Russian President Vladimir Putin told his US counterpart Donald Trump in a phone call on Wednesday that Moscow “will have to respond” to the attack on the country’s nuclear deterrent. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the retaliation would be carried out “when and how our military deems appropriate.”

Roll Out The Nukes: The Risk Level Just Went “Way Up” And Trump Warns “We’ll Be Very, Very Tough” If Russia Doesn’t End The War | End Of The American Dream

The Russians and the Chinese have both been developing new intercontinental ballistic missiles that can cause such immense destruction that they make the nuclear bomb that destroyed Hiroshima look like a child’s toy. The U.S. has been working on a new intercontinental ballistic missile too, but it won’t be ready for quite a few years. Unfortunately, we are closer to nuclear war right now than we have been at any other point in human history. In fact, we are extremely fortunate that the Russians didn’t decide to just start launching their nukes after Ukraine’s very foolish surprise attack on Russia’s nuclear bombers. If there had been a surprise attack on our nuclear bombers, we may not have shown the same level of restraint. We are literally teetering on the brink of the unthinkable, and it is so important for the general population to understand what we are facing.

According to a brand new report that was just released, in our world today there are more than 9,600 nuclear warheads that are ready to be used…

The number of nuclear warheads ready for use by nine countries has slightly increased from last year, reaching over 9,600 warheads, according to a Japanese think tank’s report.

Russia, the United States and China remain the world’s three largest countries in terms of the size of their nuclear arsenals.

As I have extensively documented, a full-blown nuclear war would be cataclysmic.

A large portion of the U.S. population would be immediately wiped out, and even more would die from famine during the subsequent nuclear winter.

Sadly, most of the population doesn’t even realize we just had a really close call.

President Trump’s envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, just explained to Fox News that Ukraine’s assault on Russia’s nuclear bombers resulted in risk levels “going way up”

“I’m telling you, the risk levels are going way up – I mean, what happened this weekend,” Trump’s envoy, Keith Kellogg, told Fox News.

“People have to understand in the national security space: when you attack an opponent’s part of their national survival system, which is their triad, the nuclear triad, that means your risk level goes up because you don’t know what the other side is going to do. You’re not sure.”

Our continued existence literally depended on Russian President Vladimir Putin showing some restraint.

Fortunately, Putin didn’t press the button this time.

But do we really want to keep living on the edge like this?

We need to find a way to make peace while we still can.

Unfortunately, it appears that peace is slipping away.  President Trump was just asked about imposing more sanctions on Russia, and he responded by saying that “we’ll be very, very tough” if Russia doesn’t end the war…

President Donald Trump was asked again on Thursday when he will make a decision regarding sanctions on Russia, which he’s threatened repeatedly over the past several weeks.

“It’s in my brain, the deadline,” Trump said. “When I see the moment where it’s not gonna stop … we’ll be very, very tough. And it could be on both countries, to be honest. It takes two to tango.”

Of course the Russians are in no mood to compromise after what the Ukrainians just did.

In fact, there are some voices in Russia that are calling for nuclear weapons to be used.  Here is just one example

The Kremlin’s recently updated nuclear doctrine – which sets out conditions for a launch – states that any attack on “critically important” military infrastructure which “disrupts response actions by nuclear forces” could trigger a nuclear retaliation.

The Ukrainian operation was “grounds for a nuclear attack,” declared Vladmir Solovyov, a firebrand host on Russian state TV, calling for strikes on the Ukrainian presidential office in Kyiv, and beyond.

Most people living in the western world don’t realize this, but the Russian “Satan-2” missiles are the most advanced nuclear missiles in the entire world

Russia’s “Satan-2” missile, also known as the RS-28 Sarmat, has earned its infamous name from the West for its sheer destructive potential. This intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) is capable of carrying multiple nuclear warheads — up to 15-16 — and is capable of wiping out entire cities.

The updated RS-28 Sarmat missile, considered an advanced version of Satan-2, has an increased range of 13,000 to 16,000 kilometers, making it one of the most powerful missiles in Russia’s arsenal. This missile’s capacity to cause mass destruction is unparalleled, capable of obliterating several cities with a single strike.

One “Satan-2” missile can carry enough firepower to destroy an area roughly the size of the state of Texas.

Meanwhile, the Chinese have developed a new intercontinental ballistic missile that has a range of 7,500 miles

China has revealed details of its new nuclear weapon which is said to be 200 times more powerful than the bombs that devastated Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The DF-5B missile is said to have a range of 7,500 miles, meaning it is capable of reaching Europe and the United States from launch sites in China.

Like Russia’s “Satan-2” missile, this new Chinese ICBM is capable of deploying multiple reentry vehicles

Its Multiple Independently Targetable Reentry Vehicle (MIRV) technology enables a single missile to carry and release a number of nuclear warheads capable of striking different targets across a wide area.

The original DF-5 was equipped with only one warhead, but the DF-5B can reportedly carry up to 10, significantly boosting its strike capability.

We have no defense against such missiles.

If the Russians or the Chinese press the button, we will be toast.

According to Zero Hedge, the commander of Edwards Air Force Base recently warned that the local community needs to be prepared for the possibility of a catastrophic surprise attack…

Last month, the commander of Edwards Air Force Base, California, talked openly about the need for local leaders to prepare for a Pearl Harbor-like strike on his base and others inside the United States.

Brig. Gen. Doug Wickert delivered “a sobering assessment of China’s growing military capabilities” in a briefing to community leaders, according to an Air Force press release. Wickert, the 412th Test Wing commander, spoke at Antelope Valley College on May 7.

Edwards Air Force Base is located in the Mojave desert about 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

Wickert referenced the 1941 Pearl Harbor attack in his briefing, the press release said, drawing parallels to warnings about Pearl Harbor’s vulnerability prior to the attack.

As I have warned many times, U.S. military bases will be primary targets if a nuclear war erupts.

We are counting on our strategic nuclear arsenal to deter the Russians and the Chinese, but right now Minuteman missiles that originally went into service in the 1970s still form the backbone of that arsenal.

The new Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile is in development, and preparations for their deployment are underway

According to information published by the 5th Bomb Wing Public Affairs on May 30, 2025, the US Air Force officially launched preparations at its nuclear installations to accommodate the upcoming LGM-35A Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). The activation of a new specialized unit, the Sentinel Site Activation Task Force (SATAF) Detachment 12, at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota marks a pivotal moment in the effort to replace the aging Minuteman III, which has served as the land-based pillar of the US nuclear triad since 1970. This initiative is part of a broader strategic modernization plan focusing on strengthening the ground-based leg of the nuclear deterrent force.

That is the good news.

The bad news is that it will be years before the new Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile is ready…

The Sentinel program, originally designated as the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD), is designed to deliver a next-generation ICBM featuring advanced security technologies, cyber resilience, and modular architecture. Sentinel will be deployed in a single-warhead configuration, with initial fielding scheduled to begin in 2029. Until the new W87-1 warhead under development by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) becomes available, the Sentinel will be armed with legacy W87-0 warheads. The NNSA is also scaling up its capability to produce 80 plutonium pits per year by 2030 to meet program requirements, having already qualified the first war reserve pit for the W87-1 in October 2024.

Until the Sentinel is in service, we will be at a serious disadvantage.

When I asked Google AI if Russia’s S-500 air defense system can shoot down a Minuteman missile, this is the response that I got…

Yes, the S-500 air defense system is designed to intercept and destroy a wide range of aerial threats, including ballistic missiles like the Minuteman ICBM.

But we don’t have anything that can shoot down the new missiles that the Russians and the Chinese have developed.

So perhaps we shouldn’t be picking fights with the Russians and the Chinese while they are holding the upper hand.

Of course the vast majority of the population does not understand any of this, and that is extremely unfortunate.

KIEV ON FIRE: Massive Russian Missile and Drone Strike Is Targeting the Capital and Several Other Ukrainian Cities (VIDEOS) | The Gateway Pundit

Kiev and many other cities are under attack from Russian missiles and drones, tonight.

Ever since Ukraine launched the drone attack on the airfields with drones assembled inside Russian territory, one thing is certain, and everybody knew that: there will be retaliation from Moscow.

When this expected retaliation will take place, and what format this will take is anyone’s guess.

Some MSM outlets are suggesting that it’s taking place tonight.

Nearly Midnight local time (5pm ET), evidences of a fierce attack started to appear, as Kiev sources reported preparations for a massive attack on the country.

Former CIA Analyst: ‘100 percent sure’ CIA had some involvement in massive Ukrainian drone strike on Russian airfields | The Gateway Pundit

Guest post by Leo Hohmann – republished with permission.

Ex-CIA analyst Larry Johnson says Ukraine could not have pulled this off on its own and that it bears the fingerprints of a CIA and/or British MI6 operation.

Ukrainian drones took out numerous Russian bombers on Sunday over a thousand miles from the border with Ukraine. This came one day before peace talks resumed briefly in Turkey.

By now you’ve all heard something about Ukraine’s massive assault of killer drones that attacked Russian airfields housing Russia’s nuclear bomber fleet in Siberia and several other locations deep within the country’s heartland.

The mainstream narrative is that the operation took upwards of 18 months to plan and execute and was “personally overseen” by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Sorry, folks, but I don’t buy it. This attack was not something a guy like Zelensky, whose skill set includes being a former homo-erotic dancer and actor, was prepared for.

The attack, according to mainstream reports, took out 41 aircraft or roughly 34 percent of Russia’s fleet of strategic bombers.

Yet, other knowledgeable sources, such as former British diplomat Alastair Crook, estimate the number of lost Russian bombers at closer to 7, or roughly 5 percent of the country’s overall fleet. The Western media is always going to take information from Kiev at face value, rather than question it or compare it to what the Russian media is reporting.

Anyway, it’s fair to say that whether it was 5 percent, 10 percent or 34 percent, what happened on Sunday in Russia was a major propaganda victory for Ukraine and an embarrassing intelligence lapse for Russia.

Will it change the trajectory of the war between Russia and Ukraine? Absolutely not. And that trajectory has been going in Russia’s favor for months.

But one big unanswered question is how much, if anything, was known about this attack in the bowels of the Washington deep state in Washington, D.C.

Did the president himself know about it? The official line is that he did not.

However, that doesn’t mean the U.S. government wasn’t involved.

As former CIA analyst Larry Johnson said Monday in an interview with Judge Andrew Napolitano, the U.S. government would likely strive to give the president plausible deniability for an operation like this, which took place some 2,700 miles inside Russia and away from the frontlines of the ongoing war.

In a NATO proxy war against Russia, with Ukraine serving as the proxy, somebody in Washington and/or London had to of been involved in an operation as sophisticated and strategic as the one that went down in Russia on Sunday, Johnson said.

“I guarantee you,” he said. “At least one, if not more officers, within the Central Intelligence Agency knew about this and may have even been involved with the planning for it and the operation of it.”

When pressed by Napolitano on how confident he was that CIA, MI6 or perhaps the Israeli Mousad would have been involved in an operation of this scale, Johnson responded:

“100 percent. Just the operations of initiating, of turning the drones on. Think of the process. You’ve got them hidden under this roof, so the roof has to open up. That requires an external command. The reports are they were using the Russian phone network. Maybe? But I think Starlink, Elon Musk’s operation, was involved with this as well. You can’t rule out satellite communications as a source of overhead imagery. Hey, it was reported, and I see no confirmation of it, that (U.S. Defense Secretary) Pete Hegseth was watching the attack in real time. Which means (if true), he absolutely knew it was coming on.”
