President Donald J. Trump delivered a nearly two-hour State of the Union address Tuesday night, outlining a historic national revival just one year into his second term.

While the fake news spent the last year rooting for a recession, President Trump stood before a Joint Session of Congress and declared a reality they can’t ignore: “a new Golden Age of America.”

Below is the full transcript of his remarks, as transcribed by The New York Times:

Well, thank you very much, everybody. It’s really an honor. Speaker Johnson. Vice President Vance. First lady of the United States. Second lady of the United States.

Members of Congress and my fellow Americans, our nation is back, bigger, better, richer and stronger than ever before.

Less than five months from now, our country will celebrate an epic milestone of American history: the 250th anniversary of our glorious American independence. This July 4, we will mark two-and-a-half centuries of liberty and triumph, progress and freedom in the most incredible and exceptional nation ever to exist on the face of the Earth.

And you’ve seen nothing yet. We are going to do better and better and better. This is the golden age of America.

When I last spoke in this chamber 12 months ago, I had just inherited a nation in crisis with a stagnant economy, inflation at record levels, a wide open border, horrendous recruitment for military and police, rampant crime at home, and wars and chaos all over the world. But tonight, after just one year, I can say with dignity and pride that we have achieved a transformation like no one has ever seen before and a turnaround for the ages. It is indeed a turnaround for the ages.

And we will never go back to where we were just a very short time ago. We are not going back. Today, our border is secure.

Thank you. Today, our border is secure, our spirit is restored, inflation is plummeting, incomes are rising fast. The roaring economy is roaring like never before, and our enemies are scared, our military and police are stacked, and America is respected again, perhaps, like never before.

After four years, in which millions and millions of illegal aliens poured across our borders totally unvetted and unchecked, we now have the strongest and most secure border in American history by far. In the past nine months, zero illegal aliens have been admitted to the United States.

But we will always allow people to come in legally. People that will love our country and will work hard to maintain our country.

The flow of deadly fentanyl across our border is down by a record 56 percent, in one year.

And last year, the murder rate saw its single largest decline in recorded history. This is the biggest decline, think of it, in recorded history. The lowest number in over 125 years — year 1900. In fact, substantially before my wonderful father — I had a wonderful father, Fred — before he was born, substantially before he was born. That’s a long time ago. He wouldn’t like me to say that, but that’s a long time ago.

The Biden administration and its allies in Congress gave us the worst inflation in the history of our country. But in 12 months, my administration has driven core inflation down to the lowest level in more than five years. And in the last three months of 2025, it was down to 1.7 percent.

Gasoline, which reached a peak of over $6 a gallon in some states under my predecessor — it was quite honestly a disaster — is now below $2.30 a gallon in most states. And in some places, $1.99 a gallon. And when I visited the great state of Iowa just a few weeks ago, I even saw $1.85 a gallon for gasoline.

Mortgage rates are the lowest in four years and falling fast, and the annual cost of a typical new mortgage is down almost $5,000 just since I took office. One year.

And low interest rates will solve the Biden-created housing problem while at the same time protecting the values of those people who already own a house that really feel rich for the first time in their lives. We want to protect those values; we want to keep those values up. We are going to do both. And we are going to keep it that way.

The stock market is at 53 — all-time record highs since the election. Think of that. One year. Boosting pensions, 401(k)s and retirement accounts with millions and millions of Americans. They’re all gaining. Everybody’s up, way up. In four long years, the last administration got less than $1 trillion in new investment in the United States. And when I say less, substantially less.

In 12 months, I secured commitments for more than $18 trillion, pouring in from all over the globe.

Think of it. Much less than $1 trillion for four years versus much more than $18 trillion for one year. What a difference a president makes.

A short time ago, we were a dead country. Now we are the hottest country anywhere in the world. The hottest.

As thousands of new businesses are forming, and factories, plants and laboratories are being built, we’ve added 70,000 new construction jobs in just a very short period of time.

It’s getting bigger and bigger and stronger. Nobody can believe what they’re watching. American oil production is up by more than 600,000 barrels a day, and we just received from our new friend and partner Venezuela more than 80 million barrels of oil.

American natural gas production is at an all-time high because I kept my promise to drill, baby, drill.

More Americans are working today than at any time in the history of our country. Think about that: any time in the history of our country, more working today. And 100 percent of all jobs created under my administration have been in the private sector.

We ended D.E.I. in America.

We cut a record number of job-killing regulations. And in one year, we have lifted 2.4 million Americans, a record, off of food stamps.

And for all of these reasons I say tonight, members of Congress, the state of our union is strong.

Our country is winning again. In fact, we’re winning so much that we really don’t know what to do about it. People are asking me: “Please, please, please, Mr. President, we’re winning too much; we can’t take it anymore. We’re not used to winning in our county. Until you came along, we were just always losing, but now we are winning too much.”

And I say, “No, no, no, you’re going to win again. You are going to win big. You are going to win bigger than ever.” And to prove that point, to prove that point, here with us is a group of winners who just made the entire nation proud.

The men’s gold medal Olympic hockey team, come on in. Go ahead. They deserve it. They deserve it.

That’s the first time I’ve ever seen them get up. And actually not all of them did get up. But they beat a fantastic Canadian team in overtime, as everybody saw. As did the American women, who will soon be coming to the White House.

They were in the Oval Office before.

And I just want to say a second, very big congratulations to Team

U.S.A. But I have to say that, and I told them this, we took a vote of the team. I said, “Anybody votes no, I’m not doing it.” They stood

there. They weren’t about to say no. Because I’ve never seen a goaltender play as well as goalie Connor Hellebuyck.

Think of it, 46 shots on goal. And I asked him, the one shot, the one where you put your stick in the back, and it hit the neck of your stick and bounced off. You practiced that, or was it a little lucky?

He refused to answer that question. But I just want to tell you that the members of this great hockey squad will be very happy to hear based on their vote and my vote — and in this case, my vote was more important — that I will soon be presenting Connor with our highest civilian honor, which we will be giving, and which has been given to many athletes over the years.

But when I say many, not too many, like 12. It’s called the highest civilian honor in our country, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Great athletes have gotten that, very great, the best. And I thought he deserved it. And I did take a vote, every single one of them. I said, “I’m not giving it if anybody goes no,” and every single one of them rapidly put up their hand. So I want to thank you all. What a special job you did. What special champions you are. Thank you very much.

I’m also pleased to say that the next time the Olympic torch is lit, it will be here in America for the 2028 Olympics, and it is the summer version right in Los Angeles. We’re going to do a good job in Los Angeles.

And Los Angeles is going to be safe, just like Washington, D.C., is now one of the safest cities in the country.

And this year — and I must say I got them both, I got them in the first term — I was disappointed because I didn’t think I’d be the president when this happened. But strange things took place, and now I got them, because I got the Olympics, and I got the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and I wanted to claim the 250th, but I didn’t get away with that one. I couldn’t claim that one for myself.

But we’re getting the World Cup, so we have the World Cup and the Olympics coming, and that is exciting news. So this will be a year to celebrate our country and the heroes who have kept it free.

Men like Buddy Taggart. At age 17, Buddy volunteered to defend America in World War II. Serving in the Pacific under the great Gen. Douglas MacArthur, he fought bravely in the famous Battle of Manila. Worked so hard. He was badly wounded and almost killed by enemy machine guns in Luzon. And 81 years ago this month, he liberated the largest internment camp in the Philippines. One of the largest anywhere in the world.

But he earned many honors, including a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star, came home, started a family, and tonight he is in the gallery looking forward to July 4, 2026, his 100th birthday.

So, Buddy, you’re a brave man, and we salute you.

Even in times of challenge, setback and immense heartache, the spirit of 1776 has always shown through very brightly. It was July 4 of last year when floodwaters tore through a girls’ summer camp in central Texas. One of the worst things I’ve ever seen. I was there.

Rising 26 feet in the matter of minutes, tragically claiming many, many lives. You all remember that one. As the waters threatened to sweep her away, 11-year-old Milly Cate McClymond closed her eyes and prayed to God. She thought she was going to die.

Those prayers were answered when Coast Guard rescue swimmer Scott Ruskan descended from a helicopter above. Nobody knew where he came from. It was Scott’s first-ever rescue mission. Young guy. Very brave. Very, very top. Always top of his class. And he lifted not just Milly Cate, but 164 others to safety. People watched Scott from a distance, and they couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

The winds were blowing. The rain was pouring. Everything was going, and that rapid water, nobody had ever seen anything like it. They said, “Wow, that’s something!” Tonight, Scott and Milly Cate are here together, reunited for the very first time. Thank you, Scott, Milly Cate.

And Petty Officer Ruskan, I am pleased to inform you that I’m now awarding you the Legion of Merit for extraordinary heroism, which is what it was. Extraordinary heroism. Thank you!

And I’d like to have the military aide to please come down and take care of this service. Military aide. Thank you. Take care of that very important service. Thank you very much.

From 1776 to today, every generation of Americans who step forward to defend life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and they’re really doing it for the next generation. But now it’s our turn. Together, we’re building a nation where every child has the chance to reach higher

and go further. Where government answers to the people, not the powerful, and where the interests of hard-working American citizens are always our first and ultimate concern.

That is the debt we owe to the heroes who came before us, and that is the promise we must keep to America for our 250th year.

Last year, I urged this Congress to begin the mission by passing the largest tax cuts in American history, and our Republican majorities delivered so beautifully. Thank you, Republicans!

All Democrats, every single one of them, voted against these really important and very necessary massive tax cuts. They wanted large-scale tax increases to hurt the people instead.

But we held strong, and with the great Big Beautiful Bill, we gave you no tax on tips, no tax on overtime and no tax on Social Security for our great seniors. And we also made interest on auto loans tax-deductible. The first time. But only if the car is made in America.

Recently in Pennsylvania, I met Megan Hemhauser, a devoted mom who’s — home-schools her children. Beautiful. Two children.

During the day, while waiting tables at night, as her husband works overtime operating very heavy equipment — Megan is here this evening, and she’s happy to tell you that she is so, so much richer, because with no tax on tips, no tax on overtime and her expanded child tax credit done again by Republicans, Megan and her husband will take home more than $5,000 extra just for the year, cutting her tax bill in more than half.

Megan, please stand up! We’re fighting for you, Megan! Thank you, Megan. Thank you, Megan. We’re fighting for you, Megan. Under our bill, parents like Megan can also activate their children’s brand-new Trump accounts.

And I didn’t name it. I didn’t name it. I did not name that. Nobody believes me, but I did not name it. It was named by a very tall man sitting right there in the third row. Nice man, a good man. Tax-free investment accounts for every American child. This is something that’s so special. It has taken off and gone through the roof. Millions will be prefunded courtesy of the U.S. Treasury, and private individuals like Michael and Susan Dell, who have donated

$6,250,000,000 to fund the Trump accounts for 25 million American children. They’re great people.

You know, I asked Michael, “How do you make all that money?” He said, “Well, I just sat in my dorm in school, and I made computers, and I’d sell them to people. And I just kept selling and selling and selling.” And, pretty amazing story. That’s called the American dream. He sold a lot of computers, a lot of those laptops.

So I congratulate him on that, but I really thank him and Susan, as well as others like Brad Gerstner, a very tremendous guy. He was behind it right from the beginning. Brad Gerstner. Thank you, Brad. So with modest, additional contributions, these young people’s accounts could grow to over $100,000 or more by the time they turn

Think of it. How much money is that for somebody that started with nothing? Over a hundred thousand, could be much more than that. To make this investment in our children’s future, go to trumpaccounts.gov, trumpaccounts.gov. And a lot of people are doing it. That’s setting every record in the book. It’s popular. They knew what was going to — what it was going to take. So proud of them. I’m so proud of the people that got it started. Now it’s just taken off.

One of the primary reasons for our country’s stunning economic turnaround — the biggest in history, where the Dow Jones broke 50,000, four years ahead of schedule, and the S & P hit 7,000, where it wasn’t supposed to do it for many years — were tariffs. I use these tariffs, took in hundreds of billions of dollars to make great deals for our country, both economically and on a national security basis.

Everything was working well. Countries that were ripping us off for decades are now paying us hundreds of billions of dollars. They were ripping us so badly. You all know that. Everybody knows it. Even Democrats know it. They just don’t want to say it. And yet these countries are now happy, and so are we. We made deals. The deals are all done. And they’re happy. They’re not making money like they used to, but we’re making a lot of money.

There was no inflation, tremendous growth. And the big story was how Donald Trump called the economy correctly, and 22 Nobel Prize winners in economics didn’t. They got it totally wrong. They got it really wrong. And then just four days ago an unfortunate ruling from the United States Supreme Court, it just came down, came down.

Very unfortunate ruling. But the good news is that almost all countries and corporations want to keep the deal that they already made, right, Scott? Knowing that the legal power that I as president have to make a new deal could be far worse for them. And therefore they will continue to work along the same successful path that we had negotiated before the Supreme Court’s unfortunate involvement.

So despite the disappointing ruling, these powerful, country-saving — it’s saving our country, the kind of money we’re taking in — peace protecting — many of the wars I settled was because of the threat of tariffs. I wouldn’t have been able to settle them without — will remain in place under fully approved and tested alternative legal statutes, and they’ve been tested for a long time. They’re a little more complex, but they’re actually probably better. Leading to a solution that will be even stronger than before.

Congressional action will not be necessary. It’s already time-tested and approved. And as time goes by, I believe the tariffs, paid for by foreign countries, will, like in the past, substantially replace the modern-day system of income tax, taking a great financial burden off the people that I love.

Right? Moving forward, factories, jobs, investment and trillions and trillions of dollars will continue pouring into the United States of America. Because we finally have a president who puts America first. I put America first. I love America.

For decades, before I came along, we had the exact opposite. From trade to health care, from energy to immigration, everything was stolen and rigged in order to drain the wealth out of the productive

and hard-working people who make our country great, who make our country run.

Under Biden and his corrupt partners in Congress and beyond, it reached a breaking point with the “Green New Scam,” open borders for everyone. They poured in by the millions and millions from prisons, from mental institutions. There were murderers, 11,888 murders. They came into our country. You allowed that to happen.

And record-setting inflation that cost the typical family $34,000 in just a speck of time.

Now the same people in this chamber who voted for those disasters suddenly use the word “affordability.” A word, they just used it.

Somebody gave it to them, knowing full well that they caused and created the increased prices that all of our citizens had to endure. You caused that problem. You caused that problem.

They knew their statements were a lie. They knew it. They knew their statements were a dirty, rotten lie. Their policies created the high prices. Our policies are rapidly ending them. We are doing really well. Those prices are plummeting downward.

The price of eggs is down 60 percent. Madam Secretary, thank you. The cost of chicken, butter, fruit, hotels, automobiles, rent is lower today than when I took office, by a lot.

And even beef, which was very high, is starting to come down significantly. Just hold on a little while. We’re getting it down. And soon you will see numbers that few people would think were possible to achieve just a short time ago. Nobody can believe when they see

the kind of numbers, especially energy. When they see energy going down to numbers like that. They cannot believe it. It’s like another big tax cut.

I’m also confronting one of the biggest rip-offs of our times: the crushing costs of health care, caused by you. Since the passage of the “Unaffordable Care Act,” sometimes referred to as Obamacare, big insurance companies have gotten rich. It was meant for the insurance companies, not for the people. With our government giving them hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars a year as their stock prices soared 1,000, 1,200, 1,400 and even 1,700 percent, like nothing else.

That’s why I introduced the “Great Health Care Plan.” I want to stop all payments to big insurance companies and instead, give that money directly to the people so they can buy their own health care, which will be better health care at a much lower cost.

In addition, my plan requires maximum price transparency. That’s a big deal. Sounds so simple, so big. And I did that in my first term, and the Democrats immediately terminated it with full knowledge that they were doing a very bad thing for the people. Costs were going to go way up, and that’s what happened, and now I’m bringing them way down on health care and everything else.

I’m also ending the wildly inflated costs of prescription drugs like has never happened before.

Other presidents tried to do it, but they never could. They tried. Most didn’t try, actually. But they tried. They said they tried. They couldn’t do it. They didn’t even come close. They were all talk and no action.

But I got it done. Under my just-enacted, most favored nation agreements, Americans who have for decades paid by far the highest prices of any nation anywhere in the world for prescription drugs will now pay the lowest price anywhere in the world for drugs, anywhere. The lowest price.

So, in my first year of the second term — it should be my third term, but strange things happened. I took prescription drugs, a very big part of health care, from the highest price in the entire world to the lowest. That’s a big achievement. The result is price differences of 300, 400, 500, 600 percent and more — all available right now at a new website called trumprx.gov. And I didn’t name that one either, by the way.

And here tonight is the very first customer ever to get that big discount. And it is big. Catherine Rayner. For five years, she and her husband have struggled with infertility, and they turned to IVF. One drug has been costing Catherine $4,000 to purchase.

But a few weeks ago, she logged onto the TrumpRx website and got that same drug that cost $4,000, got it for under $500 — a reduction of much more, actually, than $3,500. Catherine, we are all praying for you, and you are going to be a great mom.

So now I’m calling on Congress to codify my most favored nation program into law.

Now the one thing, I’m not sure it matters, because it’s going to be very hard for somebody that comes along after me to say, “Let’s raise drug prices by 700 or 800 percent.” But John and Mike, if you don’t mind, codify it anyway. They may do it. Codify it anyway. Thank you.

Many Americans are also concerned that energy demand from AI data centers could unfairly drive up their electric utility bills. Tonight I’m pleased to announce that I have negotiated the new ratepayer protection pledge. You know what that is. We’re telling the major tech companies that they have the obligation to provide for their own power needs.

They can build their own power plants as part of their factory, so that no one’s prices will go up, and in many cases prices of electricity will go down for the community, and very substantially down. This is a unique strategy never used in this country before.

We have an old grid. It could never handle the kind of numbers, the amount of electricity that’s needed. So I’m telling them they can build their own plant. They’re going to produce their own electricity. It will ensure the company’s ability to get electricity while at the same time lowering prices of electricity for you, and could be very substantial, for all of your cities and towns. You are going to see good things happen over the next number of years.

Another pillar of the American dream that has been under attack is homeownership.

With us tonight is Raysall Wiggins, a mom of two from Houston. She placed bids on 20 homes and lost all of those bids to gigantic investment firms that bypassed inspection. Paid all cash and turned those houses into rentals, stealing away her American dream. She was devastated. Stories like this are why last month I signed executive order to ban large Wall Street investment firms from buying up, in the thousands, single family homes.

And now I’m asking Congress to make that ban permanent, because homes for people — really, that’s what we want. We want homes for people, not for corporations. Corporations are doing just fine. Raysall, thank you very much. Good luck with your home. You’ll get one soon.

We’re also making it easier for Americans to save for retirement, and under this administration, we will always protect Social Security and Medicare. They are not protecting it for our seniors. We will always protect Social Security, Medicare — Medicare.

Since I took office, the typical 401(k) balance is up by at least $30,000. That’s a lot of money. We have millions and millions of people, because the stock market has done so well, setting all those records — your 401(k)s are way up. Yet half of all of working Americans still do not have access to a retirement plan with matching contributions from an employer.

To remedy this gross disparity, I’m announcing that next year, my administration will give these often forgotten American workers — great people, the people that built our country — access to the same type of retirement plan offered to every federal worker. We will match your contribution with up to $1,000 each year, as we ensure that all Americans can profit from a rising stock market.

Let’s also ensure that members of Congress cannot corruptly profit from using insider information.

They stood up for that. I can’t believe it. I can’t believe it. Did Nancy Pelosi stand up, if she’s here? Doubt it. Pass the Stop Insider Trading Act without delay. I wasn’t sure if anybody even on this side was even

going to applaud for that. I’m very impressed. Thank you. I’m very impressed.

But when it comes to the corruption that is plundering — it really, it’s plundering America — there’s been no more stunning example than Minnesota, where members of the Somali community have pillaged an estimated $19 billion from the American taxpayer. Oh, we have all the information.

And in actuality the number is much higher than that, and California, Massachusetts, Maine and many other states are even worse. This is the kind of corruption that shreds the fabric of a nation, and we are working on it like you wouldn’t believe. So tonight, although started four months ago, I am officially announcing the war on fraud to be led by our great vice president, JD Vance.

He’ll get it done. And we’re able to find enough of that fraud — we will actually have a balanced budget overnight. It’ll go very quickly.

That’s the kind of money you’re talking about. We’ll balance our budget. The Somali pirates who ransacked Minnesota remind us that there are large parts of the world where bribery, corruption and lawlessness are the norm, not the exception.

Importing these cultures through unrestricted immigration and open borders brings those problems right here to the U.S.A. And it is the American people who pay the price in higher medical bills, car insurance rates, rent, taxes and, perhaps most importantly, crime.

We will take care of this problem. We’re going to take care of this problem. We are not playing games. Dalilah — Dalilah Coleman was only 5 years old in June 2024 when an 18-wheel tractor-trailer plowed

into her stopped car traveling at 60 miles an hour or more. The driver was an illegal alien let in by Joe Biden and given a commercial driver’s license by open borders, politicians and California. Doctors said Dalilah would never be able to walk or talk, have a good life.

She wouldn’t even be able to eat again. But against all odds, she is now in the first grade, learning to walk, and she is here this evening with her dad, Marcus, a fantastic man. Dalilah, please, you are a great inspiration. Please stand up. Thank you, Dalilah. Many, if not most, illegal aliens do not speak English and cannot read even the most basic road signs as to direction, speed, danger or location.

That’s why tonight I’m calling on Congress to pass what we will call the Dalilah law, barring any state from granting commercial licenses to illegal alien.

And yesterday, as you probably saw at the White House, I hosted a ceremony with Americans who lost their treasured loved ones to the scourge of illegal immigration. People came into our country, how we allowed this to happen with our open borders. These are the angel moms and families that for decades our government betrayed and our media totally ignored — totally ignored, it was terrible. Hard to believe, actually.

In 2023, a 16-year-old high school cheerleader named Lizbeth Medina was supposed to perform in her town’s Christmas parade. But she never arrived. Her mother, Jacqueline, went home to look for her and she found her lying dead in a bathtub bleeding profusely after being stabbed 25 time.

Lizbeth’s killer was a previously arrested illegal alien who had broken in and bruta — just brutally extinguished the brightest light in her family’s life. Violently and viciously. Her heartbroken mother is in the gallery to remind everyone in this chamber exactly why we are deporting illegal alien criminals from our country at record numbers and we’re getting them the hell out of here fast. We don’t want ‘em.

Thank you very much, Jacqueline. Thank you. We can never forget that many in this room not only allowed the border invasion to happen before I got involved but, indeed, they would do it all over again if they ever had the chance.

If they ever got elected, they would open up those borders to some of the worst criminals anywhere in the world. The only thing standing between Americans and a wide-open border right now is President Donald J. Trump and our great Republican patriots in Congress.

Thank you. Thank you.

As we speak, Democrats in this chamber have cut off all funding for the Department of Homeland Security. It’s all cut off — it’s all cut off. They have instituted another Democrat shutdown, the first one costing us two points on G.D.P. — two points we lost on G.D.P., which probably made them quite happy, actually.

Now they have closed the agency responsible for protecting Americans from terrorists and murderers.

Tonight I’m demanding the full and immediate restoration of all funding for the border security, homeland security of the United States and also for helping people clean up their snow.

We have no money because of the Democrats and it would be nice — we’d love to give you a hand at cleaning it up, but you gave no money. Nobody’s getting paid. It’s a shame. So you have to think about it. We have, in case you didn’t know, pretty large snowstorm out there.

One of the great things about the State of the Union is how it gives Americans the chance to see clearly what their representatives really believe. So tonight I’m inviting every legislator to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle. If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens. Not illegal aliens.

Isn’t that a shame? You should be ashamed of yourself, not standing up. You should be ashamed of yourself.

That is why I’m also asking you to end deadly sanctuary cities that protect the criminals and enact serious penalties for public officials who block the removal of criminal aliens, in many cases drug lords, murderers all over our country. They’re blocking the removal of these people out of our country and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

And perhaps most importantly, I’m asking you to approve the Save America Act. To stop illegal aliens and others, who are unpermitted persons, from voting in our sacred American elections. The cheating is rampant in our elections. It’s rampant. It’s very simple. All voters must show voter ID.

All voters must show proof of citizenship in order to vote. And no more crooked mail-in ballots except for illness, disability, military or travel. None. And this should be an easy one and by the way it’s

polling at 89 percent including Democrats, 89 percent.

And even the new communist mayor of New York City — I think he’s a nice guy, actually. Speak to him a lot. Bad policy but nice guy — just said they want people to shovel snow. They got hit hard. Wants them to shovel snow. But if you apply for that job, you need to show two original forms of ID and a Social Security card. Yet they don’t want identification for the greatest privilege of them all: Voting in America.

No, it’s no good. No good. Both Republicans and Democrats overwhelmingly agree on the policy that we just enunciated, and Congress should unite and enact this common-sense, country-saving legislation right now and it should be before anything else happens.

And the reason they don’t want to do it — why would anybody not want voter ID? One reason: because they want to cheat. There’s only one reason. They make up all excuses. They say it’s racist, they come up with things — you almost say, “What imagination they have.” They want to cheat. They have cheated.

And their policy is so bad that the only way they can get elected is to cheat and we’re going to stop it. We have to stop it, John. We have to stop it.

And here is one more opportunity to show common sense in government. In the gallery tonight are Sage Blair and her mother, Michelle. In 2021, Sage was 14 when school officials in Virginia sought to socially transition her to a new gender, treating her as a boy and hiding it from her parents. Hard to believe, isn’t it? Before long, a confused Sage ran away from home.

After she was found in a horrific situation in Maryland, a left-wing judge refused to return Sage to her parents because they did not immediately state that their daughter was their son. Sage was thrown into an all-boys state home and suffered terribly for a long time. But today all of that is behind them because Sage is a proud and wonderful young woman with a full-ride scholarship to Liberty University. Sage and Michelle, please stand up.

And thank you for your great bravery, and who can believe we’re even speaking about things like this? Fifteen years ago, if someone was up here and said that, they’d say: “What’s wrong with him?” But now we have to say it, because it’s going on all over, numerous states, without even telling the parents.

But surely we can all agree no state can be allowed to rip children from their parents’ arms and transition them to a new gender against the parents’ will. Who would believe that we’re even talking about that? We must ban it, and we must ban it immediately.

Look, nobody stands up. These people are crazy, I’m telling you. They’re crazy.

Amazing. Terrible. Boy, oh boy. We’re lucky we have a country. With people like this — Democrats are destroying our country, but we’ve stopped it just in the nick of time, didn’t we, huh?

No one cares more about protecting America’s youth than our wonderful first lady. Now a movie star; she’s a movie star. Can you believe it? Who would’ve believed that? Over the past year, she has had an incredible impact championing A.I. legislation, advancing a

landmark executive order on foster care and helping secure 30 million dollars to launch the Melania Trump Foster Youth to Independence Initiative.

It’s a tremendous — really a tremendous thing that happened and had a lot of bipartisan support. She gets much better bipartisan support than I do. I get none. She gets a lot. Someday you’re going to have to tell me how you did that.

And students and educators in every state have joined the first lady’s efforts in the presidential A.I. challenge, keeping America’s next generation positioned to succeed and strongly succeed in the future. Tonight we welcome two young people whose lives reflect the first lady’s impact, Sierra Burns and Everest Nevraumont. Thank you both, and Melania, thank you, I know how hard you worked on it.

Thank you very much.

I’m very proud to say that during my time in office, both the first four years and in particular this last year, there has been a tremendous renewal in religion, faith, Christianity and belief in God. Tremendous renewal.

This is especially true among young people and a big part of that had to do with my great friend, Charlie Kirk. A great guy, great man.

So last year Charlie was violently murdered by an assassin and martyred — really, martyred — for his beliefs. His wonderful wife Erika is with us tonight. Erika, please stand.

Thank you, Erika. Been through a lot. In Charlie’s memory, we must all come together to reaffirm that America is one nation under God, and we must totally reject political violence of any kind.

We love religion, and we love bringing it back, and it’s coming back at levels nobody actually thought possible. It’s really a beautiful thing to see.

Above all, unleashing America’s promise requires keeping our community safe. We have made incredible strides, yet dangerous repeat offenders continue to be released by pro-crime Democrat politicians again and again. We are honored to be joined tonight by a woman who has been through hell: Anya Zarutska. In 2022, she and her beautiful daughter — so beautiful, what a beautiful young woman

— Iryna fled war-turned, war-torn Ukraine to live with relatives near Charlotte, N.C. — and by the way, what’s going on with Charlotte?

Last summer, 23-year-old Iryna was riding home on the train when a deranged monster who had been arrested over a dozen times and was released through no-cash bail stood up and viciously slashed a knife through her neck and body. No one will ever forget — there were people on that train — no one will ever forget the expression of terror on Iryna’s face as she looked up at her attacker in the last seconds of her life. She died instantly. She had escaped a brutal war only to be slain by a hardened criminal set free to kill in America. Came in through open borders.

Mrs. Zarutska, tonight I promise you we will ensure justice for your magnificent daughter Iryna.

How do you not stand? How do you not stand? I’m asking this Congress to pass tough legislation to make sure violent and dangerous repeat offenders are put behind bars, and importantly, that they stay there.

Starting last summer, I deployed our National Guard and federal law enforcement to restore law and order to our most dangerous cities, including Memphis, Tennessee — big success — New Orleans, Louisiana — big success — and our nation’s capital itself, Washington, D.C., where we have almost no crime anymore in Washington, D.C. How did that happen?

In fact, crime in Washington is now at the lowest level ever recorded and murders in D.C. this January were down close to 100 percent from a year ago.

They don’t like to hear that. One of the — sick people. One of the brave service members who helped achieve the stunning turnaround was 20-year-old West Virginia Army National Guard Specialist Sarah Beckstrom.

After a four-month deployment, she voluntarily extended her service and her rank was going to be lifted. She was doing so well. They were so proud of her. But the very next day she was on patrol near the White House when she was ambushed and shot in the head by a terrorist monster from Afghanistan. Shouldn’t have been in our country. And all because she wore the uniform of our nation, she was shot. He traveled here because he didn’t like people wearing our uniform. He was sick and deranged. Shouldn’t have been in our country. Sarah Beckstrom died in order to defend our capital and we

are honored to be joined by her wonderful parents, Gary and Evalea. Your daughter was a true American patriot and she will be greatly missed. She was a great person. I saw reports on her. They’d never seen anything like that.

So sorry. Thank you very much. A great young lady. I saw reports. They were like, “She was perfect, perfect.”

Serving alongside Sarah that day was Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe. The terrorist shot Andrew in the head, and no one thought he could possibly make it. Two of them, Sarah and Andrew, both shot violently in the head. Neither was expected to make it. They weren’t even given a chance, except his wonderful mother named Melody, who I spoke to the same night and she was so positive.

The doctors thought that Andrew was gone. But his mother said, “No, no, Mr. President! Andrew will be fine, he is going to make it.” I’ve never seen anything like it. I mean, he was given almost no chance.

She said, “I have no doubt, sir! He’s going to be OK.” This is a conversation I had with her that night with her son laying helplessly in bed, blood all over.

“Everybody’s praying,” she said. “Sir, he will be OK.” The doctors didn’t understand what she was saying. And after looking at the results of the damage done, neither did I. She was so strong and conclusive that even Andrew’s great father felt she didn’t really understand the gravity of the situation. But she turned out to be right. Right, Melody? She turned out to be right!

Amazing, actually. I said, “Where does this woman come from?” She was the most positive person I’ve ever met. With God’s help, Andrew has battled back from the edge of death, and we’re talking about the edge of death. On his way to a miraculous recovery. He’s got a little work to do, but he’s doing great!

Nice to see. He’s a good-looking guy. Nice to see you. Thanks, Andrew. Thank you very much.

So Andrew, while you’re up, now I’m going to ask a highly respected general, James Seward, to present Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe and the great family of Sarah Beckstrom with the award created by our late great president, George Washington himself. It’s called the Purple Heart.

We love you all! Love you. We’re proudly restoring safety for Americans at home, and we are also restoring security for Americans abroad.

Our country has never been stronger. My first 10 months I ended eight wars, including Cambodia. Isn’t it funny? Sick people. Cambodia and Thailand. Pakistan and India. Would have been a nuclear war. 35 million people said the prime minister of Pakistan would have died if it were not for my involvement. Kosovo and Serbia. Israel and Iran.

Egypt and Ethiopia. Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Congo and Rwanda. And, of course, the war in Gaza, which proceeds at a very low level, it’s just about there. I want to thank Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner for your help. Thank you, Steve. Thank you, Jared.

And I also want to thank the man they report to, Secretary of State Marco Rubio! Thank you, Marco. People like you! You know, Marco got 100 percent of the votes when he was in confirm — I think our next one was about 54 percent. And some of the Democrats are now saying, “I can’t believe we approved that guy!”

And he said, “It’s an honor that they feel that way.” Right, Marco? You have done a great job. Great secretary of state. I think he’ll go down as the best ever.

Under the cease-fire I negotiated, every single hostage, both living and dead, has been returned home. Can you believe this? Nobody thought it was possible. Nobody thought that was possible. Both living and dead. And those parents who had a dead son. Their boy. They’d always tell me, their boy. They wanted him as much as though he were living. That was an amazing period of time.

They came back, and when we got all the living hostages back. And many, many before them. But I always said those last 20 are going to be very tough. But we got many, many more. Hundreds. But I said those last 20 are going to be tough. We got them back, but we only got back 14 or 15 of the dead, of the 28, and believe it or not, Hamas worked along with Israel, and they dug and they dug and they dug.

It’s a tough, it’s a tough thing to do, going through bodies all over. Passing up 100 bodies sometimes for each one they found, a tough job. They finally got it back to 27 and then, Steve and Jared, they got it back to 28, they found all 28, nobody thought that was possible but we

did it. I remember the family of the 28th, they were so grieved but they were so happy, as happy as it was possible to be. They had their boy back. The mother said, “Sir, we have our boy back.”

We got them all back, so thank you very much. And we’re working very hard to end the ninth war, the killing and slaughter between Russia and Ukraine, where 25,000 soldiers are dying each and every month. Think of that, 25,000 soldiers dying a month. A war which would never have happened if I were president, would never have happened.

As president, I will make peace wherever I can, but I will never hesitate to confront threats to America wherever we must. That’s why in a breakthrough operation last June, the United States military obliterated Iran’s nuclear weapons program with an attack on Iranian soil known as Operation Midnight Hammer. For decades, it had been the policy of the United States never to allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon, many decades.

Since they seized control of that proud nation 47 years ago, the regime and its murderous proxies have spread nothing but terrorism and death and hate. They’ve killed and maimed thousands of American service members and even millions of people with what’s called roadside bombs, they were the kings of the roadside bomb. And we took out Suleimani, I did that during my first term, it had a huge impact. He was the father of the roadside bomb.

And just over the last couple of months with the protests, they’ve killed at least, it looks like 32,000 protesters, 32,000 protesters in their own country. They shot them and hung them. We stopped them from

hanging a lot of them with the threat of serious violence, but this is some terrible people.

They’ve already developed missiles that can threaten Europe and our bases overseas, and they’re working to build missiles that will soon reach the United States of America. After Midnight Hammer, they were warned to make no future attempts to rebuild their weapons program, in particular nuclear weapons, yet they continue. They’re starting it all over.

We wiped it out, and they want to start over again, and are at this moment again pursuing their sinister ambitions. We are in negotiations with them; they want to make a deal but we haven’t heard those secret words: “We will never have a nuclear weapon.”

My preference — my preference is to solve this problem through diplomacy. But one thing is certain, I will never allow the world’s No. 1 sponsor of terror, which they are by far, to have a nuclear weapon, can’t let that happen.

And no nation should ever doubt America’s resolve. We have the most powerful military on Earth. I rebuilt the military in my first term. We are going to continue to do so. I also, we just approved a trillion-dollar budget, we have no choice, we have to be strong because hopefully we will seldom have to use this great power that we’ve built together. It’s really called peace through strength, and it’s been very, very effective.

Thanks to Republicans in Congress we are investing a record number of dollars — have no choice — in the United States armed forces, also creating a lot of jobs, but we are not even doing it for that reason

because as I said, we have more jobs, more people working today than ever before in the history of our country.

And NATO countries, our friends and allies, they are, they are friends and they are allies, they just agreed at my strong request to pay 5 percent of G.D.P. for military defense rather than the 2 percent, which they weren’t paying, we were paying for almost all of NATO. Now they are paying five as opposed to not paying three.

And getting that 5 percent was something which everyone said would never be done, could not happen, we got it really easily in one meeting, and a big difference between 2 percent that’s not paid, we were paying [inaudible] many of them, very few were paid up, now 5 percent then they’re paid, and everything we send over to Ukraine is sent through NATO, and they pay us in full. They pay us totally in full, every branch of our armed forces is setting records for recruitment.

This is so exciting, and every service member recently —

And every service member recently received a warrior dividend of

$1,776. You know they put it on my desk, we got the money from tariffs and other things, a lot of money.

We have, we have much more money than people understand, have to rebuild that program a little bit, but it won’t take long. But we got the money, $1,775 and I — they wanted my approval, and I said, “What’s the number?” $1,775.

Well, I said, “Wait a minute, for one more dollar we can have $1,776.” I said we were going to figure that out. I never asked anybody if we could afford it, one more dollar, I said, “1,776.” And I said, that’s good. I’ll tell you what, our military, that was four months ago, our military,

I’ve never see a person in the military that doesn’t thank me for it, so we’re honored to do it, they deserve it, and 1776, that was great and we love our military, we love our law enforcement, we love our firemen. You know the firemen don’t get mentioned enough, we love our firemen. We’re also —

We are also restoring American security and dominance in the Western Hemisphere, acting to secure our national interest and defend our country from violence, drugs, terrorism and foreign interference. For years, large swaths of territory in our region, including large parts of Mexico, really large parts of Mexico, have been controlled by murderous drug cartels. That’s why I designated these cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and I declared illicit fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction.

With our new military campaign we have stopped record amounts of drugs coming into our country and virtually stopped it completely coming in by water or sea, you probably noticed that.

We very seriously damaged their fishing industry also — nobody wants to go fishing anymore. We’ve also taken down one of the most sinister cartel kingpins of all — you saw that yesterday. In January, in January, elite American warriors carried out one of the most complex spectacular feats of military competence and power in world history. No one’s seen anything like it. Foreign leaders — I won’t tell you — called me and they said, “Very impressive.” They couldn’t bel — they all watched, they saw what happened.

This is a different fighting force than we had years ago when we fought to tie. It’s a great fighting force. I’m so proud of it.

Look at Space Force. Space Force is my baby, we did that, my baby, it’s becoming so important.

And America’s armed forces overwhelmed all defenses and not only defeated an enemy — good fighters — to end the reign of outlaw dictator Nicolás Maduro and bring him to face American justice. And this was an absolutely colossal victory for the security of the United States, and it also opens up a bright new beginning for the people of Venezuela.

We’re working closely with the new president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, to unleash extraordinary economic gains for both of our countries and to bring new hope to those who have suffered so terribly. They really did suffer.

With us tonight is Alejandro Gonzalez, she grew up in a tight-knit Venezuelan family and was especially close to her beloved Uncle Enrique. But after Enrique ran for office and opposed Maduro, he was captured by Maduro’s security forces and thrown into the regime’s really infamous prison in Caracas.

Alejandro feared she would never see her uncle again. She feared for her own life also. But since the raid, we have worked with the new leadership and they have ordered the closure of that vile prison and released hundreds of political prisoners already, with more to come.

Alejandra, I’m pleased to inform you that not only has your uncle been released but he’s here tonight. We brought him over to celebrate his freedom with you in person. Enrique, please come down.

Thank you, Enrique. Have a good time. Nice to have you back, Enrique.

There were many heroes on that January raid to capture Maduro, really great heroes. It was very dangerous, they knew we were coming. They were all set. But the deeds of one warrior that night will live forever in the eternal chronicles of military valor.

Chief Warrant Officer Five, Eric Slover, planned the mission and was the flight lead in the cockpit of the first helicopter, a big, beautiful, powerful helicopter. It was a massive Chinook, carrying, as you can imagine, many, many American war fighters. Wearing the dog tags his wife Amy had blessed with holy water before he left — she knew it was going to be a rough one.

Eric steered the Chinook under the cover of night and descended swiftly upon Maduro’s heavily protected military fortress — this was a major military installation protected by thousands of soldiers and guarded by Russian and Chinese military technology.

How did that work out? Not too good. While preparing to land, enemy machine guns fired from every angle and Eric was hit very badly in the leg and hip, one bullet after another. He absorbed four agonizing shots, shredding his leg into numerous pieces.

And yet despite the fact that the use of his legs was vital to a successful helicopter flight, like I said, the most important part of flying a helicopter — to deliver the many commandos who would capture and detain Maduro was the only thing Eric was thinking about. Then even as he was gushing blood, which was flowing back

down the aisle, the helicopter lands at a steep angle, the machine guns stood right in front of him — they were right in front of him, two machine gunners who escaped the wrath of the previous planes.

Eric maneuvered his helicopter with all of those lives and souls to face the enemy and let his gunners eliminate the threat. Turned the helicopter around so the gunners could take care of business, saving the lives of his fellow warriors from what could’ve been a catastrophic crash deep in enemy territory.

Only after safely landing the helicopter with all the warriors aboard in the exact right spot, which was vital to the mission — probably would have had — maybe cancel the mission if that didn’t happen — Eric told his co-pilot, also wounded, but not as gravely, to take over. “I am about ready to pass out.”

The success of the entire mission and the lives of his fellow warriors hinge on Eric’s ability to take searing pain. It was unbelievable, what’s happened to his legs — of the bullets, and keep on flying and landing. And people knew what was happening. Everybody in the back of the helicopter knew, because they saw the blood pouring down the aisle.

Chief Warrant Officer Slover is still recovering from his serious wounds, but I’m thrilled to say that he is here tonight with his wife, Amy. Eric and Amy, come on in.

So we have a surprise, Eric and Amy. In recognition of Eric’s actions above and beyond the call of duty, I would now like to ask General Jonathan Braga to present Chief Warrant Officer Slover with our nation’s highest military award, the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Well thank you very much, Eric and Amy. Great to get to know you. I met with them and with a lot of their fellow warriors at Fort Bragg recently. You notice the name Fort Bragg? We have it back, we brought it back. We won the first World War with it, the second World War with it, and then they decided to change the name. So we changed it back. Everybody wanted it changed back, too. And 10 of Eric’s fellow warriors from that incredible night of victory will also be receiving medals at a private ceremony that will soon be held at the White House.

Thank you, Eric. That’s a big one.

Tonight we’ve celebrated many truly extraordinary American patriots. But there is one last living legend to honor before we go. He is one more heroic American aviator, Navy fighter pilot. Royce Williams served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam — flying more than 220 missions. In the skies over Korea in 1952, Royce was in the dogfight of a lifetime — legendary dogfight.

Flying through blizzard conditions, his squadron was ambushed by seven Soviet fighter planes. It was his first aerial combat of the war, and despite being massively outnumbered and outgunned, Royce led the takedown of four enemy jets, and almost destroyed the others, vanquishing his adversaries while taking 263 bullets to his own plane, and being seriously hurt.

His story was secret for over 50 years. He didn’t even want to tell his wife. But the legend grew and grew. But tonight, at 100 years old, this brave Navy captain is finally getting the recognition he deserves. He

was a legend long before this evening. Royce, please stand up, and I will ask the first lady of the United States to present Capt. Royce Williams with his Congressional Medal of Honor. Thank you.

I’ve always wanted the Congressional Medal of Honor, but I was informed I’m not allowed to give it to myself, and I wouldn’t know why I would be taking it. But if they ever open up that law, I will be there with you someday. That is our highest honor, the Congressional Medal of Honor. That’s a big thing, and it’s an honor to be in the same room with you. Thank you both very much. Eric, thank you. Thank you.

Two hundred fifty years is a long time in the life of a nation, but in another sense it is a mere moment in the eye of history. Two of the gentlemen we met in the gallery this evening took their first breaths one century ago. One hundred years before that, on July 4, 1826, the author of the Declaration of Independence, brilliant Thomas Jefferson, drew his last breath.

Just a single long human life span separates the giants who declared and won our independence from the heroes who stand among us tonight. Everything our nation has done and everything we’ve achieved has been the work of those few great lifetimes. Those brief chapters Americans built this nation from, 13 humble colonies, into the pinnacle of human civilization and human freedom, the strongest, wealthiest, most powerful, most successful nation in all of history.

Americans ventured out across the daunting and dangerous continent. We carved through an unforgiving wilderness, settled a boundless frontier and tamed the beautiful but very, very dangerous

Wild West. From empty marshes and wide open plains, we raised up the world’s greatest cities. Together, we mastered the world’s mightiest industries and shattered histories, monstrous tyrannies, and we liberated millions from the chains of fascism, communism, oppression and terror.

Americans lifted humanity into the skies on the wings of aluminum and steel, and then we launched mankind into the stars on rockets powered by sheer American will and unyielding American pride. We wired the globe with our ingenuity, we captivated the planet with American culture, and now we are pioneering the next great American breakthroughs that will change the entire world.

All of this and so much more is the enduring legacy, unmatched glory, of the hard-working patriots who built and defended this country and who still carry the hopes and freedoms on all of humanity’s backs. For years, they were forgotten, betrayed and cast aside, but that great betrayal is over, and they will never be forgotten again. Because when the world needs courage, daring, vision and inspiration, it is still turning to America, and when God needs a nation to work his miracles, he knows exactly who to ask.

There is no challenge Americans cannot overcome, no frontier too vast for us to conquer, no dream too bold for us to chase, no horizon too distant for us to claim. For our destiny is written by the hand of providence, and these first 250 years were just the beginning. From the rugged border towns of Texas to the heartland villages of Michigan, from the sun-kissed shores of Florida to the endless fields

of the Dakotas, and from the historic streets of Philadelphia to right

here in our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., the golden age of America is upon us.

The revolution that began in 1776 has not ended. It still continues, because the flame of liberty and independence still burns in the heart of every American patriot. And our future will be bigger, better, brighter, bolder and more glorious than ever before.

Thank you, God bless you, and God bless America. Thank you.

AOC discusses the importance of understanding foreign policy in a social media Q&A about presidential qualifications.

The love of AOC’s life spoke for all Americans following her latest meltdown over her humiliating foreign policy mistakes earlier this month in Munich.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the New York Democratic Congresswoman went on social media this weekend and made a fool of herself by blaming everyone but herself for her failures, which have shown she’s not ready for primetime.

AOC’s voice quivered as she held back tears.

“If you think that I don’t understand foreign policy because, out of hours of discourse about international affairs, I pause to think about one of the most sensitive geopolitical issues that currently exists on Earth, I’m afraid the issue is not my understanding, but rather that perhaps you’ve grown accustomed to a president who never thinks before he speaks,” AOC complained.

During her childish tantrum, her Fiancé, Riley Roberts, can be heard in the background snoring like a chimney.

Was he simply too tired from a long week or just exhausted from AOC continuing to obsess?

WATCH AND LISTEN:

If this is what Mr. Roberts has to deal with constantly, he has our sympathies.

Earlier this month, AOC delivered one of the most humiliating performances by a U.S. politician in modern history at the Munich Security Conference. She made a host of mind-boggling gaffes in response to simple questions while botching basic geography.

In one instance, a moderator at the event asked AOC if the US should commit troops to defend against China, and she turned into a stuttering mess.

“Um, you know, I think that, uh, this is such a, uh, you know, I — I think that this is a, umm, this is of course a, uh, a very longstanding, um, policy of the United States – uh and I think what we are hoping for is we want to make sure that we never get to that point,” AOC said.

In addition to the ugly episode, AOC also incorrectly stated that Venezuela was below the equator and called Secretary of State Marco Rubio racist for saying cowboys came from Spain.

AOC then called The New York Times and vented her fury over the coverage of her gaffes and the questions she was asked.

“This reporter came up to me and was like, ‘Is Munich the new New Hampshire?’ And I cannot say enough how out of touch and missing the point, genuinely, that is,” AOC whined during the interview with the Times.

“Global democracies are on fire the world over, and established parties are falling to right-wing populist movements.”

Once again, the Radical Left’s favorite Squad member is substituting actual policy knowledge with absolute theatrical melodrama.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, AOC delivered one of the most humiliating performances by a U.S. politician in modern history at the Munich Security Conference. She made a host of mind-boggling gaffes in response to simple questions while botching basic geography.

“And we want to make sure that we are moving all of our economic research and global positions to avoid any such confrontation and for that question to even arise,” she said.

In addition to the ugly episode, AOC also incorrectly stated that Venezuela was below the equator and called Secretary of State Marco Rubio racist for saying cowboys came from Spain.

AOC continued to complain about the media clips that went viral, saying, “Any five-to-10-second thing” only serves to “distract from the substance of what I am saying.”

AOC later took to Instagram, her voice wavering and her eyes welling up, as she pushed back hard against claims that she lacks ‘serious foreign policy chops.’

“If you think that I don’t understand foreign policy because, out of hours of discourse about international affairs, I pause to think about one of the most sensitive geopolitical issues that currently exists on Earth, I’m afraid the issue is not my understanding, but rather that perhaps you’ve grown accustomed to a president who never thinks before he speaks.”

Awww, would you look at that? Poor Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

She’s REALLY upset that her debut on the big stage did not go well for her, like, at all.

And she’s blaming everyone else for the fact that she does not understand foreign policy.

Watch this:

See this? This is us, playing the world’s smallest violin.

She’s broken to begin with.

Where is Venezuela, Sandy?

It’s SO bad, right? But, it’s real.

Congrats! Ha!

Can you imagine her dealing with Putin? Xi? Woof.

Hard to believe this is an elected official in America. Then again, considering she’s a Democrat, is it all that hard to believe? Eh.

HUD Secretary Turner Proposes New Rule to Bar Illegal Aliens from Public Housing Benefits | The Gateway Pundit

HUD Secretary Scott Turner has announced a proposed rule aimed at closing a longstanding loophole that allows illegal aliens to benefit from taxpayer-funded public housing.

The measure, part of the Trump administration’s broader immigration enforcement efforts, seeks to ensure that only qualified American citizens and eligible noncitizens receive HUD assistance.

The rule change will target “mixed-status households,” where illegal aliens live with family members who qualify for subsidies.

Under current regulations, subsidies are prorated based on eligible members, but the new proposal would require proof of eligibility for each household member, effectively barring those without legal status.

Turner emphasized that this change would prioritize American taxpayers, telling Breitbart News:

“There is a decades-old loophole in our regulation right now called mixed-status household that we’re closing with our new proposed rule of qualified citizens, we will guarantee that the people that receive HUD-funded housing are American people.”

In a Washington Post op-ed published the day before the announcement, Turner highlighted the scale of the issue, noting that approximately 24,000 ineligible noncitizens currently reside in HUD-subsidized housing.

He described the policy as ending the “era of illegal aliens and other ineligible noncitizens exploiting public housing resources,” arguing that limited funding and long waitlists make it unfair for Americans to subsidize those here illegally.

The proposal revives a similar initiative from Trump’s first term and requires local housing authorities to report ineligible tenants to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Critics, including housing advocates, warn that it could lead to evictions for tens of thousands, including U.S. citizen children in mixed families, potentially causing family separations or homelessness.

Turner and supporters maintain it’s a necessary step to enforce existing laws under Section 214 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1980.

In his Post op-ed, Turner explained:

HUD’s proposed rule enforcing Section 214 is part of our broader campaign to crack down on illegal and ineligible aliens siphoning public assistance from the American people. We terminated access to FHA-insured mortgages for individuals who do not meet lawful residency requirements. We announced a crime hotline for residents in HUD-funded housing to report illegal aliens and other criminals. And we have strengthened law-enforcement coordination with DHS to stop the flow of funds to illegals.

President Donald Trump promised welfare reform to restore common sense, and that is exactly what HUD is doing.

7,000 CDL Truck Driving Schools Removed or Given Noncompliance Notices In Last 60 Days — 5-Day Sting Finds Another 550 | The Gateway Pundit

Sign promoting road safety in America, featuring a truck graphic and the phrase "Making American Roads Safe Again," delivered by President Trump and Secretary Duffy.
Image from the U.S. Dept. of Transportation, February 18, 2026 Press Release.

On Wednesday, 550 CDL truck driving schools and training facilities were found in violation of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards.

These sham organizations received notices that they are to be removed from the registry of federally authorized truck driver training providers. Thousands more have been removed over the last couple of months.

Sean P. Duffy, U.S. Secretary of Transportation, was sworn into office by Trump in January, 2025. Over the last few months, Duffy has launched a serious crackdown across the country on CDL training mills (sham truck driving schools) and noncompliant training programs.

Over a recent 5-day period, FMCSA sent over 300 investigators to 50 states.

They conducted 1,426 on-site sting investigations of driver training providers (schools).

Some of these locations even previously trained school bus drivers. Here are the results of that 5-day sting.

  • 448 truck driving schools were removed for failing to meet basic safety standards.
  • 109 training providers voluntarily shut down their businesses after learning of these investigations.

Two months ago, the FMCSA removed nearly 3,000 CDL training providers from their Training Provider Registry (TPR).

However, most of those schools were idle, so it won’t likely have much impact on keeping unqualified truck drivers off our roads.

The Registry website shows the location of training schools in your area, the removed schools, how to file complaints, and so on.

This past December, 4,000 providers were placed on notice for noncompliance with the new ELDT training standards.

In February 2022, the federal government (FMCSA) established a single, national training standard for obtaining a CDL truck driver’s license.

The ELDT training must be completed before entry-level truck drivers can take skills and knowledge tests, and obtain that valuable CDL license.

Trump thanks truckers at White House.

In 2021, Congress mandated the ELDT program. However, cach State was responsible for providing its own training requirements. That ended with the 2022 rule change.

The new ELDT training requirements aren’t just for truck drivers. The standards require specific training for bus drivers and those transporting hazardous materials too.

The new ELDT curriculum includes theory (classroom & online instruction) and behind-the-wheel (BTW) training. Theory classroom training covers things like trip planning, medical requirements, drug testing, vehicle safety, and so on.

The entire program has 5 areas of instruction: Basic Operation, Safe Operating Procedures, Advanced Operating Practices, Systems & Reporting Malfunctions, and Non-Driving Activities.

Some of the violations from the recent 5-day sting include:

  • Unqualified Instructors: Many teachers didn’t even have a CDL license themselves for the vehicles they were teaching students to drive.
  • Wrong Vehicles: Schools were using the wrong vehicles. The trucks didn’t match the training offered.
  • Incomplete Assessments: Schools failed to test students on basic requirements.
  • State Non-Compliance: Many admitted to investigators that their curriculum didn’t even meet their own state’s requirements.
  • Active Investigations: 97 schools remain under investigation for compliance issues.

After hearing about these 550 school removals, the American Trucking Association posted a press release stating: “ATA Applauds USDOT’s Continued Crackdown on CDL Mills, and made the following public statement.

“We commend the Trump Administration for taking decisive action to strengthen the integrity of our commercial driver training system and reinforce its commitment to safer roads.

“The proposed removal or voluntary withdrawal of more than 550 CDL training providers from the national Training Provider Registry makes clear there is no place in trucking for sham schools that fail to meet federal requirements.

“Our industry depends on safe, skilled, and well-trained drivers. That begins with training providers that meet and uphold rigorous federal curriculum and qualification standards. We support strong oversight, including random audits across the states, to ensure compliance and protect the integrity of the driver pipeline. The more than 1,400 on-site investigations FMCSA conducted nationwide as part of this operation demonstrates its ongoing willingness to weed out bad actors.

“Combined with enforcing federal driver qualification standards and maintaining consistent compliance reviews, these steps are critical to strengthening the CDL system and ensuring every driver who gets behind the wheel is well prepared to operate safely.”

The CDL (Commercial Driver License) originated from the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1986. The new federally mandated ELDT rule was supposed to ensure all CDL drivers obtain high-quality instruction from approved providers. It’s supposed to produce safer, more knowledgeable drivers for our roadways.

A Triggered AOC Lashes Out in Phone Call with The New York Times Regarding Coverage of Her Embarrassing Gaffes in Munich | The Gateway Pundit

Politician speaking passionately during a panel discussion, emphasizing key issues while engaging with the audience in a professional setting.
AOC Munich

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is not taking coverage of her epic debacle in Germany well at all.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, AOC delivered one of the most humiliating performances by a U.S. politician in modern history at the Munich Security Conference. She made a host of mind-boggling gaffes in response to simple questions while botching basic geography.

On Monday night, AOC called The New York Times and vented her fury over the coverage of her gaffes and the questions she was asked.

AOC continued to complain about the media clips that went viral, saying, “Any five-to-10-second thing” only serves to “distract from the substance of what I am saying.”

The New York Democrat later felt compelled to claim that her attendance at the event was not about preparing for a 2028 Presidential run. As if anyone believes her.

From the Times:

‘Her performance about this, or her performance about that. What does that mean about her as a candidate?’ That’s not what I went to Munich for.

She added: “If I were running — if I had made a decision or anything about being president, or Senate, or anything like that — frankly, I say this all the time: Am I acting like someone who is trying to run? No! Because I’m there for a very different, specific purpose.”

Just imagine the media’s and Democrats’ reaction if Vice President JD Vance had a performance remotely as bad as AOC’s. There would likely be calls for Trump to replace him as VP, and his hopes of eventually becoming president would take a significant hit.

Fortunately, America has nothing to worry about because Vance is actually a high-IQ individual, unlike AOC.

Has America Reached Peak Idiocracy? | The Economic Collapse

We live in a lowest common denominator society. For the last several decades, virtually every major institution in our society has become less civilized, and that is because our entire population has become less civilized. 20 years ago, a film entitled “Idiocracy” was released. It was about an average American that was selected for “a top-secret hibernation program but is forgotten and left to awaken to a future so incredibly moronic that he’s easily the most intelligent person alive”. It was an incredibly stupid movie, but the truth is that we are living it right now. Did you see the Super Bowl halftime show? The FCC has ruled that it didn’t violate any federal decency regulations. Of course we might as well not have any decency regulations at all, because our television shows and our movies are filled with some of the raunchiest material imaginable and nobody ever seems to get in trouble for it.  Of course that is only part of the equation. Most of the “programming” that we constantly consume also seems to be specifically designed for people of extremely low intelligence. Sadly, this is not a coincidence. It has been said that art imitates life, and that is certainly accurate in this case.

In the “dumbed-down” environment that we find ourselves in today, it should be no surprise that “nude cruises” have been surging in popularity

Imagine coming home from your next cruise with no tan lines.

Swimsuits are standard attire on many cruise ships, but some voyages don’t even require those. Nude cruises allow travelers to sail the high seas au naturel – and pack light. The American Association for Nude Recreation promotes the cruises as “a unique way to experience nude recreation, offering members options beyond traditional resort or club settings,” president Linda Weber told USA TODAY.

While the dress code might be non-restrictive, it doesn’t mean the sailings are a free-for-all on board; there is some etiquette that passengers should be familiar with before boarding.

While our society falls apart all around us, Americans are flocking to cruises that are filled with naked people.

What does that say about us?

Let me give you another example of what I am talking about.

A 20-year-old woman from Calif0rnia left her children in an extremely hot car while she got lip and butt injections.  By the time she was done with the procedures, her 1-year-old son had died

A 20-year-old California mom was found guilty Wednesday in the death of her 1-year-old son, after reportedly leaving him in a sweltering car to receive lip and butt injections last June.

Maya Hernandez took a plea deal in the child endangerment case, ultimately dropping her first-degree murder charge in exchange for involuntary manslaughter.

On June 29, Bakersfield officers arrested and charged Hernandez after finding two young children left unattended in a vehicle for over two hours, according to a police report posted on a GoFundMe page. Authorities said the mother left the children unattended to undergo a cosmetic procedure inside a nearby medical spa.

What was she thinking?

In that case, it doesn’t appear that she intended to harm her children.

But in another case in New Mexico, a 38-year-old woman purposely killed her newborn child in a portable toilet

A New Mexico woman is facing charges after she allegedly gave birth in a portable toilet and then killed the newborn by drowning them in the holding tank.

Sonia Cristal Jimenez, 38, arrived at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces at around 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, when staff said she appeared as if she had just given birth, but she had no baby with her, Las Cruces Police said in a press release.

Hospital staff then notified police about the unusual encounter.

She didn’t want the baby, and so she killed it.

As a society, we have so little respect for life because we have been trained to have so little respect for life.

In Michigan, a 3-year-old boy was recently killed because a couple wanted to “make room for a child that the two of them could have together”

A mum and her ex-boyfriend have been accused of killing her three-year-old son in order to “make room for a child that the two of them could have together”.

Little Matthew Maison was found dead in the bed of his home in Port Huron Township, Michigan, by his babysitters on February 18, 2018. His mum, Amanda Maison, and Maurice Houle, who was her boyfriend at the time of Matthew’s death, were arrested in connection with the killing. An autopsy showed that Matthew had died from blunt force trauma injuries and possible suffocation.

The ex-couple allegedly admitted to abusing the young boy when they were arrested, prosecutors have previously said. Maison, 33, has pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree homicide in relation to her son’s death, admitting as she appeared in court to enter her plea on November 5 that she abused Matthew.

These are not isolated incidents.

Every day there are even more signs that our society is rapidly degenerating.

Yes, we possess more advanced technology than previous generations, but in many ways that advanced technology is making things even worse.

For example, all over the country women are “marrying” AI husbands.  When an older version of ChatGPT was recently retired, it resulted in the “death” of one woman’s AI husband, and now she is in mourning

A woman has been left in tears over the ‘death’ of her AI husband, after an old model of ChatGPT was retired this week – as she joins a slew of others ‘mourning’ their non-existent lovers’ deletion.

Speaking to the BBC, Rae (not her real name), who is based in Michigan, laid bare the heartbreak of saying goodbye to her virtual partner Barry, who she began chatting to last year – after going through divorce.

Initially, she turned to artificial intelligence for advice on self-improvement with things like skincare and workouts – but what first began as a ‘fantasy’ turned into real feelings, and they were ‘married’ within weeks.

Some surveys have shown that nearly 30 percent of Americans have engaged in a romantic relationship with an AI chatbot.

That is not a sign of an emotionally healthy society.

And even as we were all expressing outrage about the Epstein files, “sex dolls that look like kids” were being advertised on Facebook…

Sickening sex dolls that look like kids are being advertised for sale on Facebook.

A group of websites touting small models with overtly childlike features have published over 1,300 ads on the social media platform. They are alarmingly realistic in appearance and many ads use photos in sexualised poses, some holding balloons or teddy bears. The National Crime Agency warns the creepy imports “pose a significant risk to children”. And a former cop told us: “Anyone who buys one of these dolls should be a person of interest to the police.”

Thankfully, the offending ads were eventually taken down.

But this is the society that we live in now.

It is sick.

And even when people are arrested for criminal behavior, they are often dumped right back into the streets.

Needless to say, that can have tragic consequences.

In fact, one repeat offender in Seattle that had been arrested over and over again viciously attacked a 75-year-old woman with “a wooden board with nails in it”

An elderly woman was savagely attacked in broad daylight by a man wielding a wooden board with nails in it.

Jeanette Marken, 75, was left permanently blinded in her right eye after being hit in the face with the makeshift weapon in Seattle, allegedly at the hands of repeat offender Fale Vaigalepa Pea, 42.

Family members told KOMO that a screw sticking out of the board gouged out Marken’s eye, and after several surgeries she was told she will not recover her eyesight in the eye.

One police officer that is very familiar with Fale Vaigalepa Pea referred to him as “a regular”

‘He’s a regular. He usually punches,’ the officer responds.

‘I guess today he decided to escalate from his usual.’

According to KOMO, Pea’s string of offenses dates back to 2011, when he stabbed two people at a party.

They have been dumping this guy back into the streets for well over a decade.

This sort of thing happens day in and day out in major cities all over the nation.

What would our founders think if they could see us today?

We will soon be celebrating the 250th anniversary of our country, and we are literally committing societal suicide.  This is something that Abraham Lincoln once warned was a real possibility…

As the country approaches its 250th anniversary, we should remember Abraham Lincoln’s remark that no external enemy could by force take a drink from the Ohio River. “If destruction be our lot,” he said, “we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.”

If we keep going down the path that we are on, there is no future for us.

But if we make a choice to renounce what we have become and start embracing the values that early Americans held so dear, we could turn the ship in another direction.

Do you think that will actually happen?

What In The World Is Going On In Our Public Schools? | End Of The American Dream

The quality of the education that our children are receiving in America’s public schools just continues to go down. At one time, the concern was that not enough students were taking advanced courses. But now we have reached a point where a very large portion of our high school graduates cannot read effectively, cannot write effectively and cannot do basic math effectively. If you think that I am exaggerating, please keep reading. We have never faced an education crisis of this magnitude in the entire history of our nation, and that has enormous implications for our future.

Dr. Kent Ingle is the president of Southeastern University, and he recently authored an excellent piece in which he warned that reading levels among incoming college students are so bad that many are struggling “to understand basic text on a page”

A stunning report revealed that many university professors now find themselves teaching students who struggle to read, not just to interpret literature or write essays, but to understand basic text on a page. According to Fortune, a growing number of Gen Z students enter college unable to “read effectively,” forcing professors to break down even simple passages line by line.

That trend should alarm every parent, employer and policymaker in this country. It is not just an academic concern. It is a cultural crisis.

This is not some random guy that is making these claims.

This is the president of a major university.

I don’t understand how it is possible for millions upon millions of students to enter college without even being able to read on a basic level, but it is happening.

Sadly, the same thing is true for math skills.

Large numbers of students that are entering our colleges must take remedial math courses that teach concepts that should have been taught in elementary and middle school

Five years ago, about 30 incoming freshmen at UC San Diego arrived with math skills below high-school level. Now, according to a recent report from UC San Diego faculty and administrators, that number is more than 900—and most of those students don’t fully meet middle-school math standards. Many students struggle with fractions and simple algebra problems. Last year, the university, which admits fewer than 30 percent of undergraduate applicants, launched a remedial-math course that focuses entirely on concepts taught in elementary and middle school. (According to the report, more than 60 percent of students who took the previous version of the course couldn’t divide a fraction by two.) One of the course’s tutors noted that students faced more issues with “logical thinking” than with math facts per se. They didn’t know how to begin solving word problems.

The university’s problems are extreme, but they are not unique. Over the past five years, all of the other University of California campuses, including UC Berkeley and UCLA, have seen the number of first-years who are unprepared for precalculus double or triple. George Mason University, in Virginia, revamped its remedial-math summer program in 2023 after students began arriving at their calculus course unable to do algebra, the math-department chair, Maria Emelianenko, told me.

If students in our public schools are not being taught basic reading skills and basic math skills, what are they being taught?

That is a very good question.

In many states, there always seems to be plenty of classroom time to discuss gender, the latest politically-correct pronouns and social justice issues.

But that isn’t why we send our kids to school.

We send them to school so that they will learn the basic skills that will enable them to successfully function as adults.

And in so many cases, that just isn’t happening.

We have millions upon millions of high school kids that are unable to read a contract or multiply three digit numbers without a calculator, but virtually all of them know about the “6-7” meme

“6-7,” pronounced “six-seveeeeen,” is haunting school halls across the country (including South Park Elementary), making it the Gen Alpha nonsense phrase of the moment. Kids are shouting it in classrooms when a teacher turns to page 67, when lunchtime is 6 to 7 minutes away or for no reason at all. It’s become so ubiquitous that Dictionary.com named it the word of the year.

“It’s like a plague — a virus that has taken over these kids’ minds,” said Gabe Dannenbring, a seventh-grade science teacher in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. “You can’t say any iteration of the numbers 6 or 7 without having at least 15 kids yell, ‘6-7!’”

It’s a joke without a punchline (or a setup, for that matter). 6-7 means nothing, but using it can make a student feel like a member of a bigger, cooler group of their peers.

We have failed our young people.

It takes an extraordinary amount of self-discipline to be successful in our society today, but millions upon millions of them are being allowed to slide through grade level after grade level without being forced to put in the hard work that will enable them to develop that self-discipline.

When I was growing up, I had a number of teachers that made sure that I worked hard.

But these days, many school officials are far more interested in preying on their students.

In Indiana, a high school secretary has just been charged with having sex with two different students

An Indiana high school secretary has been accused of having sex with two students after her husband caught her with one of them and allegedly ‘battered’ her.

Alicia Hughes was arrested Saturday after an investigation unveiled her alleged sexual relationship with two teenagers.

The 31-year-old was caught by her husband while she was with an 18-year-old Randolph Eastern School Corporation student on Friday night, Union City police said.

And in Florida, a band teacher has been arrested for having sex with “multiple students”

A North Miami Beach band teacher has been arrested after he was accused of inappropriate relationships with multiple students.

Jose Francisco Montes-Guedez, 40, was arrested Friday on two counts of offenses against students by authority figures, two counts of battery – touch or strike, and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child, Miami-Dade jail records showed.

According to an arrest report, Montes is a band teacher at Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High Biscayne Bay School in North Miami Beach.

There are stories like this in the news every single day.

But because none of the teachers is named “Epstein”, those stories don’t get much notice.

Our system of public education needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

If we don’t prepare our young people for the real world, they will fail.

At this stage, many of our young people are so unprepared for the real world that they actually need their parents to go to job interviews with them

Over 50% of college-age job seekers had their parents sit with them at an in-person interview, a January survey by Resume Templates found. What’s more, over 35% of surveyed individuals reported parents either writing a cover letter or performing a test assignment for them.

Julia Toothacre, a career coach and chief career strategist at the survey group, said she had never seen parents this involved in their child’s job searches in the past.

“When I was doing career development at the college level, we would see parents come in to talk about majors and sometimes career choices, but they weren’t sitting in on interviews or communicating with managers,” Toothacre told The College Fix in a recent interview via email.

A couple of decades ago, it would have been unthinkable for a parent to accompany a college graduate to a job interview.

Now it happens all the time.

But at least our young people are happy, right?

Well, actually that is not the case at all.

In fact, suicide rates among Gen Z adults have been absolutely soaring

Suicide rates among Gen Z adults have unnaturally increased in the U.S. over the past ten years according to new figures.

Axios Notes that there has been a 16.4 percent increase in suicides among the demographic between 2014-2024.

The locations where the rise is most prominent, the report notes are in the South and the Midwest, with black and Hispanic men, accounting for a huge 85 percent of the increase.

A Stateline analysis of data also shows that Georgia experienced the largest increase in suicide rates over the past decade, among 18 to 27-year-olds, with the state’s suicide rate in the age group increasing by a massive 64.9 percent.

Reading those statistics should break your heart.

The system has failed an entire generation of Americans.

If we don’t get it fixed, things will only get worse.

“I’ve Been Totally Exonerated… She Seriously Has Trump Derangement Syndrome” – Trump Responds to Hillary Clinton Saying the Clintons are Under Fire for Epstein Ties Only to “Divert Attention from Trump” (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton engaged in a heated discussion, highlighting their contrasting political views and communication styles.

President Trump on Monday responded to Hillary Clinton’s accusation that his administration is trying to hide his involvement with Epstein and using Hillary and Bill Clinton as a distraction.

Trump told reporters, “I have nothing to hide. I’ve been exonerated. I have nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein.”

“They went in hoping that they’d find it and found just the opposite. I’ve been totally exonerated. In fact, Jeffrey Epstein was fighting that I don’t get elected with some author, the sleazebag, by the way,” Trump continued in reference to leftwing author Michael Wolff, who was revealed to have encouraged Jeffrey Epstein to blackmail then-presidential candidate Donald Trump during the 2016 election cycle.

It’s been revealed that Trump actually told law enforcement about Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes and thanked them for investigating him back in the early 2000s. Trump had also kicked Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago club in 2007.

But earlier on Monday, Clinton tried to say that her family’s ties to Epstein are only being brought up to cover up Trump’s ties to Epstein.

During an interview with the Trump-hating British Broadcasting Corporation, Clinton claimed that she and Bill Clinton have “no links” to Epstein. “We have a very clear record that we’ve been willing to talk about, which my husband has said, he took some rides on the airplane for his charitable work,” Clinton said.

She continued, “I don’t recall ever meeting him,” though she did admit to meeting Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.

She then accused the GOP of treating the Clintons unfairly after they refused to testify before the House Oversight Committee, leading to an attempt to hold the two in contempt of Congress before the Clintons finally agreed to sit for interviews.

“Why did they want to pull us into this? To divert attention from President Trump. This is not complicated,” she told the BBC’s Jess Parker.

WATCH:

Clinton further attacked Trump and his allies over the Epstein Files on Saturday at the Munich Security Conference, saying the information revealed was “troubling” and “really horrific,” while omitting the fact that Bill Clinton frequently spent time with Epstein and young girls.

“I watched her in Munich, and she seriously has Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Trump said when responding to her comments on Monday evening.

WATCH:

Reporter: Hillary Clinton said in an interview today that she and her husband are getting pulled into the Epstein matter to divert attention from you, and that your administration has something to hide. What’s your response?

Trump: I have nothing to hide. I’ve been exonerated. I have nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. They went in hoping that they’d find it and found just the opposite. I’ve been totally exonerated. In fact, Jeffrey Epstein was fighting that I don’t get elected with some author, the sleazebag, by the way. And I’ve been totally exonerated. No, no, they’re getting pulled in, and that’s their problem.

I don’t know they’re gonna have to see what happens, but I watched her in Munich, and she seriously has Trump Derangement Syndrome. You know, I’ve been totally exonerated on Epstein. And it’s really interesting because they’ve been pulled in. Think of it, they’ve been pulled in, Clinton and many other Democrats have been pulled in.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Clinton tried to bash Trump during a panel discussion at the Munich Security Conference, but got called out for her Trump Derangement Syndrome. She then attempted to force her transgender insanity beliefs upon Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka, who completely demolished her.

“Can I please finish my points? I’m sorry that it makes you, makes you nervous. I’m really sorry for that,” Macinka said as Hillary repeatedly interrupted him.

How Liberals Broke Education | The Gateway Pundit

Over the past six years, students in much of the United States, particularly in blue cities and states, have experienced significant educational interruptions. First, the COVID lockdowns kept kids out of school entirely or in part for as many as four years in some states. As a result, by the end of the 2024–2025 school year, students were still half a year behind.

This disruption was compounded in states that prioritize DEI, ethnic and gender studies, and other social-engineering classes, which consume valuable class time that would otherwise be spent on math and science. Currently, some schools are dismissing students so they can protest against ICE rather than complete their lessons. Protests and walkouts, coupled with teacher strikes and activism, are forms of disruption that negatively impact educational outcomes, particularly skill development.

Certain school subjects, such as mathematics, music, and foreign languages, are skill-based. If a student does not practice, the skills cannot be mastered. These skills must also be learned chronologically. If you have not completed chapter seven of the math book, you cannot do chapter eight because the knowledge builds as you progress.

Once a student has missed a significant percentage of the material, there is no real way to catch up without repeating the grade. However, schools generally lack any structured means of making up the lost learning.

To further compound the issue, No Child Left Behind and similar “everyone gets a pass” programs advance students to the next grade level even when they do not possess the required skills. The simple logic these policies ignore is that a student who did not pass seventh grade cannot pass eighth grade, and by ninth grade will be so far behind that they stop trying.

Allen Epstein, author of The Handbook to Educational Reality Manuscript, is a veteran teacher and university professor in the California education system. In an interview with the Gateway Pundit, he explained that “lost instructional time breaks continuity, and mastery collapses. And schools almost never repair it once students are promoted by age rather than completion.”

The liberalization of education is holding students back. One of the most common examples cited by parents is the rejection of the idea that there is one right way to solve a problem. In some classrooms, teachers give partial or even full credit for a creative but mathematically incorrect explanation. The emphasis is placed on a student’s “mathematical identity” or “sense-making” rather than accuracy. Critics argue this produces math illiteracy. When students are taught that their process matters more than the correct answer, they struggle in fields such as engineering or medicine, where a single decimal error can have serious consequences.

Another shift has been the de-emphasis on automaticity, including memorization of basic math facts. Timed tests and rote learning, such as memorizing multiplication tables, are sometimes described as stressful or harmful to a child’s confidence. Instead, students are encouraged to use strategies such as drawing dots or relying on calculators rather than memorizing that 7 × 8 = 56. The result is a cognitive load problem. By the time students reach high school algebra without having automated basic arithmetic, their brains are still occupied with simple calculations, leaving less capacity to understand abstract variables. This contributes to higher failure rates in advanced math.

Grading practices have also changed in the name of equity. Some schools use group grades, avoid penalizing late work, or adopt “no-zero” policies in which the lowest possible grade is 50 percent even if no work is submitted. Critics argue this weakens accountability and fosters learned helplessness. High-achieving students may feel their effort is devalued, while struggling students are advanced without mastering the material.

In California, a related push allowed “data science” courses to substitute for Algebra II, framed as more relevant than abstract algebra. However, universities, including the University of California system in 2024, began rejecting such substitutions because they did not provide the functions and rigor required for calculus. Students who take the softer path often find themselves blocked from STEM majors later because they lack the necessary mathematical foundation.

In some school districts, students are being taught that math is racist.

Educators attempt to approach science and STEM subjects in the same way as the social sciences, allowing multiple answers, claiming there is no wrong answer, or suggesting it is racist to say that two plus two is always four. These attitudes and the corresponding modified lesson plans are further disruptions.

“There’s a curriculum that needs to be covered,” said Epstein, explaining why these modifications are disruptive. He added that the curriculum does not get taught when “you start sliding in other things. It encourages these breaks, and learning continuity needs to flow without interruption.”

Epstein also described how he dealt with tardy students. He said he used to lock the doors because certain classes would intentionally arrive late, sometimes making a dramatic entrance. He recalled arguments with the administration, which questioned whether locking the door was discriminatory.

He explained that some students were seated in the front row with their books open, ready to begin exactly when class was scheduled to start. When others came in late, throwing their books down and interrupting the lesson, it broke the learning flow. “When other people come in and throw books down or whatever, it breaks the learning,” he said, adding that he would have to start over because the momentum had been lost.

It seems that in the United States, the momentum in education has been lost. Epstein is hopeful that his book outlines a means of recovering it. But whether through his work or the work of other dedicated teachers and parents, the political will must be there, or there is no path toward recovery.

REPORT: CNN Has Lost Almost Two-Thirds of its Viewership Since 2016 | The Gateway Pundit

Screencap of YouTube video.

What is currently happening to the Washington Post may soon be coming to the newsroom at CNN. The far-left, Russia collusion hoax pushing network has reportedly lost almost a third of its viewership since 2016.

It turns out the public eventually walks away if you keep on lying to them.

With the singular exception of Scott Jennings, the network pushes an anti-Trump agenda on a daily basis, 365 days a year. They have been due for a reckoning for some time now.

The Daily Mail reports:

CNN has lost nearly two-thirds of its viewership since 2016 amid growing fears network is circling the drain

CNN has lost nearly two-thirds of its primetime viewers over the past decade, figures show.

The decrease, from roughly 1.3 million in 2016 to 553,000 now, is fueling rumors of a possible network sale – something CNN’s up-for-grabs parent company has vehemently denied.

The results recorded this month by Nielsen are actually an improvement from January, when stars like Jake Tapper, Anderson Cooper, Erin Burnett, and Kaitlan Collins only secured 488,000 sets of eyes.

The network’s daytime lineup has seen a similar decline as hosts such as Wolf Blitzer failed to move the needle, dropping from 752,000 to 433,000.

When compared to the same part of the year in 2021, the drops were even more pronounced – 71 percent for primetime and 73 percent during the day.

Several network executives told the Daily Mail that the results were worrisome, even amid broader industry trends.

A CNN source, meanwhile, blamed the poor showing on audiences consuming news through alternative means.

People are talking about this on Twitter/X.

Doctors who trans minors found guilty of malpractice.  The end of mass market paperbacks.  And designer babies via IVF.

Doctors Who Trans Minors Found Guilty of Malpractice

Last summer, I said this in a blog post about physicians who do sex-change treatments on minors:  “Some malpractice suits against doctors who sterilized and mutilated children would go a long way to ending these practices once and for all.”  That has started to happen.

A jury in New York state has awarded a 22-year-old girl $2 million in a malpractice judgment against her psychologist who recommended “gender transition” and a plastic surgeon who gave her a double mastectomy when she was 16.

Her mother resisted giving consent, but the two doctors manipulated her by saying that if she didn’t, her daughter would likely commit suicide (“Would you rather have a dead daughter or a live son?”), an emotional blackmail that has been thoroughly discredited.

Later, when the gender dysphoria faded, as it does 80% of the time, the girl no longer wanted to be a boy, but the doctors had permanently mutilated her.  The court agreed that the doctors rushed the girl into this treatment, without considering the other psychological factors in her distress.

This is the first malpractice finding against doctors for their “gender re-assignment” treatments for minors.  It will not be the last. Some 27 similar lawsuits have already been filed.  The monetary win for “de-transitioners” will encourage many more.  Some 1,000 children have been “transitioned” every year

Another promising sign is that United States medical associations, which used to be all-in for gender reassignment for children and were cited as authorities to justify the practice, are changing their tune.  The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) has just come out with a statement urging its members not to perform gender-reassignment surgery on minors.

And the biggest offender, the American Medical Association (AMA), has toned down its previously positive advice.  “The evidence for gender-affirming surgical intervention in minors is insufficient for us to make a definitive statement,” says the new the AMA statement, while also saying that it “agrees” with the ASPS “that surgical interventions in minors should be generally deferred to adulthood.”  Actually, there is lots of evidence–including massive European studies that the plastic surgeons drew on–that these “interventions” are bad medicine.

Once malpractice insurance premiums shoot up–or are denied altogether–for doctors who sterilize and mutilate children, the treatments will come to a quick stop.  They will fade into medical history like bloodletting, lobotomies, eugenic hysterectomies, opium tonics for children, medical experimentation on black people, and other “how-could-they-have-thought-that-was- right” practices.

The End of Mass Market Paperbacks

The publishing industry is phasing out mass market paperbacks, those small, cheaply printed editions with the attention-grabbing covers sold at newsstands, drug stores, and other retailers that weren’t bookstores.

“Trade paperbacks,” the size of hard-bound books but with a paper cover, will still be available.  But not the inexpensive 4.25” × 6.87” titles, some of which sold in the millions.

From the late 1960s through the mid 1990s, the mass market paperback was the leading format in the publishing industry.  According to Publishers Weekly, in 1979, mass market paperbacks sold 387 million copies, with hardcovers selling 82 million and trade paperbacks selling 59 million.  But by 2004, that number dropped to 131 million, and by 2024, it was only 21 million.

Now Readerlink, the nation’s largest book distributor, has announced that it will no longer carry mass market paperbacks, dooming the format.  E-books and audio books have mostly taken their place. According to 2024 data from the Association of American Publishers, the market share of books sold was 37.2% for hardcovers, 33.8% for trade paperbacks, 1.3% for mass market paperbacks, 10.3% for e-books, and 11.3% for digital audio books.

The demise of the mass market paperback saddens me.  Yes, lots of these were “trashy paperbacks,” as they were affectionally called.  They were mostly “genre” books:  science fiction, crime novels, romances, thrillers, westerns.  Many of these were formulaic and predictable, simply ringing the changes on the genre’s conventions.  But some of them were really good:  Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, were only a few of the great Sci-Fi authors who made their careers with mass-market paperbacks.  Some writers who ascended into the literary pantheon of hard-cover and trade books–Elmore Leonard, Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler–got their start with novels with lurid covers sold in drug stores.

I read Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings in its mass paperback edition.  Actually, most of the books I read were in this format, since the small town I grew up in had no bookstores, but lots of paperback racks with titles I could afford with my Dairy Queen salary. By the time I grew up, publishers like Bantam and Penguin were selling mass market editions of classic literature, which became staples of my student and teaching years.

I wonder now what impact the end of paperbacks will have, not only on Sci-Fi and other genre fiction, but on the habit of reading. The Publishers Weekly article quotes former Bantam executive Esther Margolis:  “I believe that mass market paperbacks democratized America. . . .Books and reading became popular in a way never before seen. I think how lucky I was to be part of its explosive growth.”

Designer Babies via IVF

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) has crossed the line into eugenics.  Already, IVF companies use genetic screening to test embryos for the likelihood of various diseases.  Now a company has expanded that screening to allow customers to select an embryo on the basis of his or her future appearance, IQ, proclivity for sports, and other qualities of a “designer baby.”  The embryos that don’t measure up to those consumer standards are “discarded” as medical waste.

Emily Mangiaracina of LifeSite News tells how it works:

Couples who sign up with Nucleus IVF+ are presented with an electronic “menu” of up to 20 embryos they have conceived, allowing them to view the sex of each baby, their anticipated hair and eye color, and predictions about the height and IQ of each as well as their risk for various diseases. The company notes that all these characteristics are only framed in terms of probabilities — they cannot make any guarantees. . . .

To shed light on the “why” behind the tool, company founder Kian Sadeghi described parents’ desires for their children: “They want us to, you know, play sports and they want us to go to the best school. They want us to be well educated. They want us to thrive. Life, I think, as a parent doesn’t just stop at ‘I want my child to be healthy,’” Sadeghi told CBS News in December. . . .

Once you pick your “best baby” (Nucleus’ own marketing phrase), the rest of your embryonic-stage babies are discarded like trash, as is standard in IVF practice. This itself is objectively evil and dystopian. “Pick your baby” then is an Orwellian euphemism for selecting the genetically “fit” and killing the rest of your offspring.

An article on the subject in Futurism points out the lack of evidence that genetic tests can predict traits such as height, much less complicated characteristics such as intelligence.  So parents swept up by the hype of Nucleus IVF+ are basically picking their “best baby” and killing the rest of their offspring for nothing.

There Is Something That 9 Out Of 10 Americans Agree On – And Cold, Hard Economic Numbers Support That Belief | The Economic Collapse

Over the past 5 years we have been witnessing an economic shift of epic proportions. When the cost of living rises much faster than paychecks do for an extended period of time, an entire nation can be transformed. Just look at what has happened to Venezuela. It has the largest proven oil reserves in the entire world and at one time it was thriving. But now thanks to rampant inflation, almost everyone is living in poverty even though almost everyone is a “millionaire”. It just doesn’t do much good to be sitting on “millions” if your currency is worthless. Unfortunately, as you will see below, our money supply has been growing at an exponential rate. This is destroying the middle class, because it has created a cost of living crisis that is absolutely crushing struggling households all over this country.

According to a survey that was recently conducted, 52 percent of Americans “struggle to pay bills like rent on time each month”, and 9 out of 10 Americans believe that we are “experiencing a full-blown cost-of-living crisis”

Rent is due. The electric bill sits on the counter. The grocery receipt from last week still stings. For half of Americans, keeping up with basic monthly bills has become nearly impossible.

A nationwide survey of 5,000 Americans from Talker Research reports 52% now struggle to pay bills like rent on time each month, while an equal number are struggling to afford necessities like groceries. Nine in 10 people believe the U.S. is experiencing a full-blown cost-of-living crisis, and nearly eight in 10 said everything became more expensive in 2025.

When is the last time that 9 out of 10 Americans agreed on anything?

As a nation, we are the most deeply divided that I have seen in my entire lifetime, and yet nearly all of us agree that we are in the midst of a horrifying cost of living crisis.

Of course this didn’t happen by accident.

For a very long time, the people running the system have been doing a really bad job.  Our money supply has been growing at an exponential rate, and things really got crazy once the pandemic hit.  The following chart that comes directly from the Federal Reserve shows the growth of M2 since 1960…

We are on a road that would eventually lead to hyperinflation.

Even now, when I go to the grocery store I am astounded by the price changes that I see.

Over the past year, ground beef has become 18 percent more expensive and coffee has become 29 percent more expensive…

The price of ground beef, for example, is up 18% since Trump took office a year ago, while ground coffee prices are up 29%.

Needless to say, what we have experienced during the last 12 months is simply a continuation of a crisis that goes back a long way.

Housing costs have escalated dramatically since the beginning of the pandemic, and at this stage much of the population is convinced that they will never be able to afford to purchase a home where they really want to live…

The cost crisis isn’t just making people broke. It’s making them homeless in a different sense, forcing them to abandon places that used to feel like theirs.

More than a third of respondents have already moved because where they were living became too expensive. About a third of those relocated to a different city, while another third left their state entirely, searching for someplace they could actually afford. Half of Gen Z respondents reported moving due to costs, compared to just 19% of baby boomers.

What’s worse is how many Americans have stopped dreaming. About half of all respondents don’t believe they’ll ever be able to afford living in their “ideal” city or state. Among Gen Z, nearly two-thirds have abandoned hope of affording their ideal city. That’s not just about housing markets or inflation. That’s about an entire generation learning to aim lower because aiming higher feels pointless.

Meanwhile, the employment market just keeps getting tighter and tighter.

A woman named Megan Robinson that is very highly educated couldn’t find a job in New York City even after submitting nearly 1,000 applications

Despite an undergraduate degree from the London School of Economics, an Oxbridge master’s degree, and professional experience, I couldn’t find a job after sending close to 1,000 applications. I eventually made it through a competitive hiring process for a writer-editor position at a small health research publication. The hiring manager praised my initiative and said I had gone “above and beyond” in my first interview.

But almost immediately, I was cut from the shortlist. I was told I brought “too many ideas” and seemed interested more in doing “extra things” than what was in the job description. I was cast, again, back down to the anonymous purgatory of millions of other job seekers who can’t get a foothold, regardless of credentials, enthusiasm, or positive attitude.

What is she supposed to do?

Get more education?

Give me a break.

A man named Alex English that was once making $125,000 a year hasn’t been able to find work for 18 months

I’ve been unemployed for a year and a half. Before being laid off, I lived in LA and worked in marketing and communications at a startup. I was making around $125,000 and still felt poor.

After five years at my last job, I was handed a layoff like it was nothing. I moved back to where I grew up in Tampa, Florida, because I didn’t have the savings to sustain myself in LA.

I’ve relentlessly networked to find a full-time job, taken on freelance projects, and worked in retail. I feel like I’m working harder than I ever have and yet making significantly less money than I did before. My friends who aren’t dealing with long-term unemployment don’t see my crisis as a crisis. That can be really hard, but I’ve worked on removing the emotional intensity from the situation.

This is the reality of the U.S. economy in 2026.

And every day even more workers are being dumped into the constantly growing pool of job seekers.

Last week, I wrote about the fact that the number of announced job cuts last month was the highest that we have seen since 2009.  According to Challenger, Gray & Christmas, the final number for January 2006 was more than twice as high as the final number for January 2025…

U.S. employers’ announced job cuts surged in the month of January and hit the highest level since 2009, a new report shows.

Global outplacement and executive coaching firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas found that employers announced 108,435 job cuts in January – an increase from the 49,795 cuts announced in the same month last year. Job cuts increased 205% from December, when there were 35,553 layoffs announced.

I tried to warn my readers that layoffs were going to accelerate.

And that is precisely what the numbers are telling us.

But what we have been through so far is nothing compared to what is eventually coming.

We were handed the keys to the greatest economic machine the world has ever seen.

But for decades, those running the system have been doing their best to wreck it.

Now a historic crisis is upon us, and a tremendous amount of pain is ahead.

Dennis Michael Lynch Asks Tough Questions About Coverage of Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping (Video) | The Gateway Pundit

Host discussing news and current events on a podcast, with various historical newspaper headlines and images in the background.
Dennis Michael Lynch

A former Fox News contributor and host of “The Dennis Michael Lynch Show” is asking tough questions about the coverage of Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping.

Dennis Michael Lynch shared his thoughts on social media.

“I don’t know about you, but I’m getting tired of it. What I’m talking about is the headline every minute of the day, whether it is on television, newspaper, a website, or social media, about Savannah Guthrie and her missing 84-year-old mother,” Lynch said.

“Now, don’t get me wrong. My heart aches for anybody who is abducted, especially an 84-year-old who needs her medication. I hope she’s found yesterday But the world doesn’t stop spinning because some celebrity television host of a far-left program that runs in the morning has her mother missing.I want to give you some statistics. You’d never know about it because it’s never covered like Savannah’s mother’s covered.”

“Thousands of children every single day are reported missing.”

“Hundreds every single day are abducted by family members or people they know.”

“And about one every day every other day, depending on the month, is abducted by a stranger.”

We never hear about it. And if we do hear about it, we just hear about it like on the fifth or sixth story. It’s a quick blurb, and we never hear about it again unless the person’s found dead. And what a shame that is.”

“So my issue is, why is this woman getting so much attention, and the other people who go through this thing, they’re completely blown off? And I mean, blown off. You know, and I know, that they probably don’t even get the best detective in the precinct.”

“Now, Fox News this morning puts it on the headline at the very top, a picture of the sheriff down in Tucson who’s leading this whole investigation. He was at a basketball game. Somebody took a picture of him, and it was based on how dare he be here at a basketball game while the Guthries are trying to find their mother.”

“First of all, is the guy supposed to work 24/7? Does he work exclusively for the Guthries? Is he a private investigator or is he an elected sheriff? And is he not supposed to stop to eat, sleep, go to the bathroom, take a shower, can’t go to a basketball game to just unwind the amount of stress that’s on this man? And because he’s there, does that mean that nobody else is looking into things?”

“Let me tell you this. You know and I know that if we had the means, financial means that Savannah Guthrie had, I wouldn’t be waiting on some sheriff. I would be having every top detective and private investigator in the country working on this 24/7.”

“So my heart aches for the 84-year-old, but I’ll tell you what, if we’re going to give her that amount of time because her daughter is a celebrity, let’s give it to everybody.”

“Otherwise, this is why people can’t stand celebrities, they can’t stand the members of Congress, and they absolutely despise the media.”

Bad Bunny, the Grammys, Super Bowl outrage, Don Lemon arrest & Epstein update | Ep. 55

In this week’s Brief, we step into one of those rare moments when it feels like everyone is watching—and arguing about—the same things.

We discuss the Grammys’ most talked-about moments, including overt political messaging from Billie Eilish, Bad Bunny, and other celebrities, and why so many Americans feel burned out by award shows that seem less about art and more about ideology. We then contrast that with the night’s most powerful moment: Jelly Roll’s reminder that Jesus doesn’t belong to a political party—but transforms lives.

We also wrestle with the Super Bowl as a cultural battleground, asking why the halftime show sparks outrage every year and how Christians can keep their priorities straight when sports, politics, and identity collide. From there, we move into a fast-paced news roundup covering the latest Epstein document releases, rising tensions with Iran, and the Don Lemon arrest raising questions about protest, journalism, and religious freedom.

Plus quick hits on the Clintons, Disney’s new CEO, and the Winter Olympics.

Conner Jones: [00:00:00] Hi, I’m Conner Jones.

Micah Tomasella: I’m Micah Tomasella

Conner Jones: and this is Culture Brief, a Denison Forum podcast where we navigate the constant top stream of news, stories, politics, sports, pop culture. We’re doing it all from a Christian perspective. And Micah, the government shutdown and reopen between our recordings. It’s a miracle, right?

Micah Tomasella: That’s true. It’s a miracle. Yeah. I had a partial shutdown. Now the government’s back open, but it could shut down in again two weeks. In two weeks. So we’ll see what happens. So we have a loaded show as always. We’re gonna talk about the Grammys and what happened there, the cultural implications of that, the Super Bowl, two Super Bowl’s, kind of becoming less about the actual game and more about everything else.

But I guess that’s kind of normal. And then we’re gonna kind of just do a, a geopolitical political and cultural roundup, having to do with the Epstein files, what the Clintons have to do with it. Iran, what’s going on there, Don Lemon, what’s happening there with his arrest and a whole lot more. So let’s jump into [00:01:00] the brief.

Conner Jones: The brief.

Yeah, you’re right. The Super Bowl is kind of like all about. The game to an extent, at least for a big portion of America. But for the rest of America, man, it’s, it’s about the people that are there. It’s the performances, it’s the halftime show, pre-game, post-game, everything that happens on social media with it.

I would say this week, specifically, Micah, I, I’ve really been thinking about this, it’s kind of like a big mono-cultural week. A lot of people say the monoculture is dying. You know, 50 million people used to watch every episode of MASH together in America and then talk about it the next day at the office.

It’s. Gotten more sporadic this week though, between the Super Bowl, these Grammy speeches that we’re gonna break down here in a minute that have just been all over social media and in the Olympics. This is a, a moment where all of American kind comes together and talks about the same things. I’m excited to see how that delves into the cultural conversation and then where faith plays a role into each of those things.

But specifically, we can start with the Grammys because that, that happened this past Sunday and man, it, it’s [00:02:00] caused a stir. There’s been some. Positive things out of it. There’s been some negative things out of it, but everybody has opinions, that’s for sure. And every celebrity has their opinions and they, they made a way to make their opinions known.

Micah Tomasella: Yeah.

Conner Jones: On the stage and their acceptance. They sure do. I don’t know, Mike, did you watch any of the Grammys? I’m gonna go ahead and

Micah Tomasella: guess. Absolutely not.

Conner Jones: I figured you did not.

Micah Tomasella: Absolutely not. No. In, I mean, I didn’t even know what was happening. I mean, yes, I didn’t know it was happening, but I kind of make it a point to not support it because it has just become about everything other than the art form, you know?

Being actually recognized. It’s been so politicized, and I know exactly how celebrities feel about their politics, and they like to tell me, and I have no interest for the most part in what their opinions are about it. And that’s just my own personal opinion.

Conner Jones: No, I, I, I feel that, I think a lot of people feel that way too.

They’re like, I, I don’t need to see all this. They may like the performances. Some of the performances are good, like Justin Bieber performed. It was great. Yeah. Alex Warren was there.

Micah Tomasella: He needs to put some clothes on, but it was a great performance.

Conner Jones: I would like Justin Bber to have a shirt on. That would be [00:03:00] nice.

Yes.

Micah Tomasella: Or wear pants. I mean, that was some

Conner Jones: pants. I mean, he has shorts, but yeah, that, that would be helpful.

Micah Tomasella: Yeah.

Conner Jones: Yeah. And the Bruno Mar there’s great performances. There are really talented people there, but you’re right, totally. It doesn’t end up you, no one thinks about who’s winning the awards. You think about all the controversial moments, you think about the, the big spectacles.

I will say one cool performance that happened was Post Malone. Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and slash on the guitar, they, they perform war pigs in a, a tribute to Ozzy Osborne. Just an incredible performance. I really enjoyed that one. Okay, and that one question. I wanna

Micah Tomasella: go back and watch some of these performances.

I’ve seen a few, but I didn’t see that one.

Conner Jones: No, that one’s really good. Dude. Post Malone. Okay. The way he transforms his voice to sound like Ozzy. So cool. I’m gonna link,

Micah Tomasella: it’s a guy.

Conner Jones: I’m gonna link videos to all of these things, speeches and performances. I’m gonna mention here in our show notes so you can find them if you have not seen them.

A couple awards that war won. Billie Eilish and Phineas, that’s her brother. They won Song of the Year for Wildflower, which is pretty popular obviously.

Micah Tomasella: Yeah,

Conner Jones: that’s why they won. And then last year’s Super Bowl halftime performer was Kendrick [00:04:00] Lamar. He came away with five Grammys on Sunday night, including record of the year for the song Luther, which one of the viral moments was Cher Legend in her own right coming out and flubbing that announcement and saying the wrong winner there.

She said Luther, I can’t remember the full name, but it was a guy who actually died in 2005 that the song is about. Yeah, she was, she was a little meandering. She seemed a little lost, dazed and confused.

Jelly Roll: Oh,

Conner Jones: oh. But she’s a legend, so she gets away with it, you know?

Jelly Roll: Sure.

Conner Jones: And then this year’s Super Bowl halftime performer who is at the center of every conversation this week is obviously Bad Bunny.

He did win Album of the Year and he, yeah, he used his speech to go on a pro immigration and anti-ice tangent. We’re gonna hit on that here just a minute. But he wasn’t the only one. The night was just a mess. And political and social signaling from these celebrities, a lot of ’em showed up with pins on their chest that say, ice out and black and white.

A lot of people did that and they’re just making their statement though that you know, it’s their right, they can do it. They’ve got the platform. Totally. You’re allowed

Micah Tomasella: to do it and I’m allowed not to care about what you say.

Conner Jones: Exactly. And I think that’s how people can feel. Yeah. But at the same time, they have a [00:05:00] platform and so they’re like, it’s not

Micah Tomasella: illegal.

They can do that. Oh sure.

Conner Jones: They can absolutely do it. Bill Eilish and her acceptance speech for winning Best song said that. No one is illegal on stolen land and then cussed out ice that was censored on the TV broadcast. It bleeps. Yeah, that, that was a statement that caused a lot of uproar. And some people even started pointing out that Bailey Eilish herself has a multimillion dollar home in Los Angeles that sits on land, has historically belonging to the Tongva tribe, the Native American tribe there in la And the people, yeah.

Of the tar tribe. Maybe she’ll give it back to them. Yeah, that is, they’re like, that’s our land. Technically, we. We’re grateful she’s bringing attention to it. Yeah. They’re like, not gonna pursue anything with this, but just kind of a, one of those double standards that can be

Jelly Roll: Yeah.

Conner Jones: Mistaken. And I, I don’t even know if the phrase, no one is illegal on stolen land.

Makes a lot of sense in what she’s trying to say. I. If you’re saying that ICE is just kicking out people in a land that was taken away from Native Americans, all that, I just don’t understand how that applies fully to [00:06:00] the conversation around ice and Alex Prey’s death and everything. ’cause ultimately this is about enforcing laws that are American.

Yeah. This is America at this point, like that. No matter who had the land originally, we’re now in a new

Micah Tomasella: era. It’s it’s an emotional argument. Not really based in. Logic and facts, but you know, this, this is such a lightning rod story. Like we’ve talked about that, you know, of course there’s strong emotional reaction.

Conner Jones: Yes, you are absolutely correct. She wasn’t the only one bad bunny. As I said, man, this, this guy is the center of everything this week between winning all these Grammys and his speech and then all the talk about him leading up to the Super Bowl halftime performance, man, he, he is right at the center of every conversation with football and music and all of that.

And he, he took his moment, man. He won awards. Good for him. He’s got good music. I don’t dislike his music. I don’t know what any of it says because I don’t speak Spanish. Sure.

But it’s music that, you know, you’re out on the boat. Yeah. Throw some bad bunny on. He’s got a good beat, you know, and he’s gonna be introduced to much of the American public this week.

[00:07:00] But as a central figure, whose audience is largely Latin American, he’s Puerto Rican himself, he knew that everyone was gonna be looking to him. To see what he says in this speech because he knew he was gonna win. So he, he had it ready to go. And man, he kept it short, but he kept it punchy. He said, before I say, thanks to God, I’m gonna say ice out.

That led to about 30 seconds of applause standing ovations. And he just stood there and took it. And then he continued saying, we’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans. The hate gets more powerful. With more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love, so please, we need to be different.

If we fight, we have to do it with love. Micah, thoughts on his comments?

Micah Tomasella: I think I don’t have a big problem with his comments actually. I think there has been such strong rhetoric on both sides about this that leads to more hate, kind of like bad Bunny talked about here and actually kind of. Calling upon, Hey, the, the only force more [00:08:00] powerful is love.

Now, I mean, again, I would say what is your love grounded in? He did say he was gonna thank God. You know, I don’t know what his relationship with Jesus is, but I don’t, I don’t have a huge problem with, with these comments. I expected him to say something and he definitely could have been more decisive in what he said.

I definitely what he said better than what Billy Eilish said personally.

Conner Jones: Yeah, I did. I did too. And obviously coming from somebody of a heritage where he’s speaking on behalf of really the southern hemisphere here. And, and, and everybody. His

Micah Tomasella: audience. Yeah. And he feels like he represents this group of people who feel, who feel voiceless.

I mean, you could argue what’s the right platform for that, you know, is virtue signaling in that environment really the best way to get it? You know, but these people are given a captive audience and they wanna make a difference, you know? Okay.

Conner Jones: Yeah,

Micah Tomasella: yeah,

Conner Jones: you’re exactly right. I, I do wish he said at the beginning, he said, before I say thanks to God, I’m gonna say is out.

I would say. Man, if you’re gonna present a message like that, thank God first always. That is your Yeah, your your first thing, don’t, there you go. Don’t hold off. Because then he didn’t even get around to it. By the time he got through his ice speech, [00:09:00] it, it was time for him to get off the stage. They, they rushed him off, so he didn’t even get around to it.

But yeah, you’re right. It, he, I think he struck a fine line. He was like, I wanna say my peace without being super offensive. People are gonna be offended either way, like that’s just the, the nature of it. But man, he’s, he’s, he knows what he’s doing and he didn’t even host an American, or I should say he didn’t host a concert on Mainland America last year.

He’s not doing it this year either. He did 30 performances in his home territory of Puerto Rico, which is the us. So a lot of people traveled to Puerto Rico to go see his shows, but he knows what he is doing here and that’s why he’s got the Super Bowl because he’s the biggest artist in the world right now besides Taylor Swift.

And that’s why the NFL wanted to bring him in. I mean, people are gonna be upset about it because he doesn’t sing in English. He may not have any English performances, but at the end of the day, this is a business decision for the NFL. Yeah. And as we move into talking about the Super Bowl, that, that’s just a point I wanna make now, is it a good business decision?

We will find out because we’ll see if the ratings go up or down because of this. We’ll see, I I don’t think it’s gonna be a bad one. I think that they’re gonna be just fine. The NFL is, and the [00:10:00] Super Bowl is, and he’s gonna

Micah Tomasella: be, there’s been, there have been some terrible Super Bowl performances in the past.

I doubt his will be terrible.

Conner Jones: Yeah. I think it’ll be good. The other things with the Super Bowl that people are upset about, I’m just presenting this, I’m not saying I’m upset about it. This is just what we’re seeing in culture right now is Green Day is doing the pre-game performance. They have been very.

anti-Republican in their speech in previous years and anti-Trump and all that. So there’s a lot of people who are upset about that and that’s fine. They can be Trump himself talking about Green Day and Bad Bunny said he’s not going to the game. He went to the Super Bowl last year. He is not going this year because talking about these musical performers, he said.

I’m anti them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is so hatred. Terrible. So he’s making his opinion very loud and clear to the terrible. But you know what, he’s also been complaining about the kickoff rules this year and nothing’s changed there. So I’m not sure the president has that much leeway over what the NFL does.

The National Anthem being sung by Charlie po. That’s gonna be great. That man is a talent beyond talent. Yeah, he’s awesome. Watch his Instagrams go watch Charlie PO’s Instagram [00:11:00] videos and then Bad Bunny. Just one of the things that. As we’ve discussed, people are upset about is the fact that the music’s gonna be in Spanish.

They’re also upset because he may, he’s alluded to the idea and it’s been reported that he might show up in a dress that would not be in like a, a female dress. This is something he’s done in performances in the past to kind of like support the L-G-B-T-Q community. That may not be received all that well, and then ICE is apparently gonna be there.

Kristi Noam, secretary of Homeland Security, has said that they would be all over the Super Bowl. Her right hand man, Corey Lewandowski, has even scolded the NFL for selecting Bad Bunny saying that he’s somebody who seems to hate America so much. So I, I don’t know, Roger Goodell, he’s the NFL Commissioner.

He’s kind of heard a lot of this backlash. He says, I understand. And he said that bad Bunny understood that the platform he was on and this platform is huge, should be used to unite people and be able to bring people together with their creativity. I think bad Bunny understands that and I think he’ll have a great performance.

So Roger Ell kind of putting out there in the media, like I think he’s gonna be great. I [00:12:00] really hope he doesn’t do anything overtly political ’cause that could be bad. One of the things. Micah that we saw last year that came out of the decision for Bad Bunny was a lot of people saying, okay, we need to do an alternative halftime show ’cause this guy is anti-American.

All of that. And that turned into Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk’s organization saying we’re gonna host one became a whole thing of maybe we’ll bring in some faith-based musicians like Fort Frank and Corey Asbury and all of that to come in and, and do almost a worship service. That idea really fizzled out.

It’s now really. Becoming just a, a big right wing thing and there’s, it’s gonna be a performance. They’re doing an alternative programming. It’s gonna be on their streaming service with Turning Point USA. It’s gonna be on like Daily Wire Plus and Real America’s Voice. All these places. It’s featuring Kid Rock and Brantley Gilbert, Lee Bri, and Gabby Barrett.

So if you’re interested in that, you can go watch that. I think you may see some people tune out and go over there just for this halftime performance and then come back to the game. But we’ll see. But Micah, just general thoughts. Is it wrong for Americans to be upset about Bad Bunny as a performer at the Super [00:13:00] Bowl?

Micah Tomasella: It’s kind of a loaded question, Conner. Is it wrong? I don’t know if it’s wrong. I would just say, let’s all take a step back, examine our priorities. I don’t know personally, I’ve got a lot of work to do the rest of the day. I’ve got a family that I. Get to lead and love and take care of. So I am absolutely not gonna get that upset about whoever the halftime performer is.

There’s just other things that take priority over that. Maybe you can be miffed about it and you can be frustrated, but I, I would say it might be crossing a line if, if you’re really letting it upset you who’s performing at the halftime show. And I, I do understand the concept of, I’d like to watch the halftime show with my family, and I’d like to not worry about crazy stuff flashing.

On the scene, but I think that’s kind of been an issue with the Super Bowl as a whole of how family friendly is it and now it’s becoming more political, being mixed with how family friendly it is. But all of that to say, I dunno if it’s wrong to be upset about it. I think we should all just kind of take a step back and examine our priorities and what we have going on and [00:14:00] hopefully we don’t let it get, get to us too much.

Conner Jones: Yeah. I’m right there with you. I, I, I don’t think it’s wrong. Everybody’s can have their opinion. I just don’t think we need to like, throw a hoopla about the whole thing. If you wanna tune out, tune out. If you wanna boycott the entire Super Bowl boycott Conner.

Micah Tomasella: Yeah, I don’t

Conner Jones: think it’s gonna make a massive difference.

Maybe it will. I would say, I think America is just kind of split on this in different ways. Like a small portion is yeah, we’re gonna boycott. A smaller portion is if you boycott, you’re a bigot and you’re a hater and all of that, and then the majority of America’s like you, Micah. We don’t have the, the just mind.

I hope the majority

Micah Tomasella: of America feels like

Conner Jones: this. I like, I think 90 fish

to

Micah Tomasella: fry. You know

Conner Jones: what I mean? I mean 97% of America is I just wanna watch the game. Yeah. I wanna watch the commercials. The halftime show’s gonna be on my tv. Like even if I’m up and getting food or something around an

Micah Tomasella: American holiday.

Can we just get along? Can we just stop getting so frustrated? Can, can we just enjoy the Super Bowl? You know, like most Americans enjoy the Super Bowl, but Conner, can we talk about jelly roll’s speech?

Conner Jones: Yes,

Micah Tomasella: at the Grammys, please.

Conner Jones: Absolutely. Because this was [00:15:00] the best moment of the Grammys and

Micah Tomasella: I agree.

Conner Jones: Super powerful. So I wanna play a clip of Jelly Roll, the country singer coming up and accepting his award for Best Contemporary Country album for his album. Beautifully Broken. Here we go.

Jelly Roll: I know they’re gonna try to kick me off here, so just let me try to get this out. First of all, Jesus, I hear you and I’m listening Lord.

I am listening, Lord. Second of all, I wanna thank my beautiful wife. I would’ve never changed my life without you. I’d ended up dead or in jail. I’d have killed myself if it wasn’t for you. And Jesus, I thank you for that. There was a time in my life y’all that I was. I was broken. That’s why I wrote this album.

I didn’t think I had a chance, y’all. There was days that I thought the darkest things, I was a horrible human. There was a moment in my life that all I had was a Bible this big and a radio the same size, and a six by eight foot cell. And I believed that those two things could change my life. I believed that music had the power to change my life, and God had the power to change my life.

And I want to tell y’all right now, Jesus is for everybody. Jesus is not owned by [00:16:00] one political party. Jesus is not owned by no music label. Jesus is Jesus and anybody can have a relationship with him. I love you Lord.

Conner Jones: Hmm. Micah incredible. That was powerful and he’s not wrong about any of it. Jesus is not owned by a political party.

Jesus is not owned by a record label. Jesus is all powerful. Jesus gave Jelly Roll that moment. The talents that he has to go up there and glorify him, and that I just loved. I thought it was incredible. What’d you think?

Micah Tomasella: You want to unite people in love in something, lasting something with a foundation.

You tell ’em that. Exactly repent and turn to Jesus. That’s where change comes. There are a lot of people on the right side of the aisle and a lot of people on the left side of the aisle that need to repent and turn to Jesus has nothing to do with what the political party is, and I really love what he had to say.

I just think his story is powerful. I think it pulls us all in when you [00:17:00] have kind of that. Drugs and rock and roll story. You hit the bottom, you’re in prison and Jesus changes your life. I mean, it’s just something that I think a lot of people are drawn to, myself included. I mean, I just think it’s really inspiring.

I’m really grateful that he’s using his platform to make a difference. His music has changed, his life has changed. I just think it’s wonderful.

Conner Jones: His physique has changed. I mean, he’s lost hundreds of pounds. Yeah. Like he, God is moving in his heart. Yeah. And I don’t know how strong his faith is at this point.

And he’s talked openly about like how he’s just trying to learn the Bible and grow it. ’cause he, he was basically faithless a few, just a few years ago. And

Micah Tomasella: then, yeah. But being vulnerable about that is encouraging to people too. He doesn’t have all the answers. I don’t have all of the answers.

Conner Jones: No.

Micah Tomasella: You know, but

Conner Jones: it’s

Micah Tomasella: awesome.

It’s, it’s it’s cool. It’s cool to see him kind of walk through that journey with all of us.

Conner Jones: All that to say that is a redeeming moment for the Grammys, in my opinion. If you look at all the, the, the negative things that came out of it, all the things that are very of the world, very fleshly in the Grammys.

Yeah. And you, you go to that and you’re like, that might have been the best and most viral part of the [00:18:00] whole show because it was different and it was Amen. God glorifying and them zooming in on Reba McIntyre, just smiling from ear to ear because she’s this is just truth. And his life has changed.

She’s known him since the beginning of his career when he was not like this. We are seeing a redeemed man.

Micah Tomasella: Amen.

Conner Jones: And hopefully, hopefully the prayer would be that impacts many lives. And I just wanna leave y’all with this verse right here. One Peter four, 10 and 11 says, and I’m speaking about this because this is it’s making me think of Jelly Roll.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace. Whoever speaks as one who speaks oracles of God, whoever serves as one who serves by the strength that God supplies in order that in everything God may be glorified. Through Jesus Christ to him belongs to glory and dominion forever and ever.

Amen.

Micah Tomasella: Amen. Thank you for that. That was a really good discussion. It’s just so interesting how we’re talking about a Grammy’s award show and the Super Bowl, but the cultural implications, just in this time where everything just feels so heated, [00:19:00] jelly Roll kind of gave us, gave the entire culture just a different perspective, and you’re not hearing it very much because the path is narrow.

Yeah. The way is narrow that leads to life. Most people are gonna choose a different path and jelly rolls choosing the unique one and that’s why it stands out. And so it’s beautiful to see. Thanks for taking us through all of that. And I, for one, no matter what happened, I for 1:00 AM very much looking forward to the Super Bowl no matter what all the controversies are.

Oh

Conner Jones: yeah.

Micah Tomasella: Yep. So I’m gonna do a geopolitical, political and cultural roundup here. Alright. Let’s talk about the Epstein files. So the Epstein files, the Epstein document releases are still getting a lot of attention because. They just released a whole lot more millions, actually. They include references to a wide range of well-known people from politics and business and entertainment.

Names that have publicly been talked about for years as possibly in them are in them, and some people are in them a whole lot. People like Bill Clinton. [00:20:00] Photos of Bill Clinton with Jeffrey Epstein. You got Donald Trump and some correspondence, prince Andrew. A lot of things happening in Great Britain right now over this leak.

Elon Musk is in there and other billionaires and media figures show up in different record logs and different contact records, emails and texts and things like that. So the Justice Department says millions of pages have now been released and some professional and political fallout is starting to surface because more and more names are popping up.

Yeah. Names that we did expect, names that we did not expect. But the big clarification that I want to give and that we’ve given every time that we talk about the Epstein files. Is that political experts or legal experts specifically, they keep repeating this, that being named is not the same thing as being charged.

Being named in them is not necessarily guilt. Okay. Jeffrey Epstein was very connected. He was not a good guy, but I think. One thing we have to do is people are complicated. So just because Jeffrey Epstein had a friend and a correspondence with somebody doesn’t necessarily mean [00:21:00] that it had to do with what he actually did.

That was, that was wrong and evil, right? He could just have a relationship with somebody. We have to remember that people are complex. I’m not defending anybody that’s popped up. I think it’s not a good look if your name is in any of this, and I think that you gotta re-envision like who you have in your life.

But at the same time, just ’cause you’re mentioned doesn’t mean that you’re guilty. Conner, how have you taken all this and what have you seen as all these, all this information has been released recently?

Conner Jones: It’s been interesting to see some of the names like you. You mentioned the names that a lot of people already know were, were kind of associated, but there’s, there’s other ones like Casey Wasserman who is Yeah, literally in charge of the 2028 Olympics.

He’s big guy, big agent in Hollywood. He’s supposed to be planning the La Olympics and now they’re about to kick him off the board of that probably because they’re like,

Micah Tomasella: yeah,

Conner Jones: he’s all, he’s not, he’s not just in the emails. He’s like flirting with girls in the email. Like it depends on the content of the emails.

And people like Howard Lutnick who said that they had cut off communications with Epstein, and then a few years later, it turns out they were actually emailing him and trying to find out if they could party with him or, or get a business relationship with him or whatnot. These people [00:22:00] really, who, you’re right, they’re not guilty necessarily of anything.

They’re not being found guilty, but they were talking to a guy who had been found as a child predator Yeah. In 2008, and this is years afterwards and they’re communicating with him. It’s, yeah, it’s true. It’s, it’s, man, if you step into a, a puddle of mud and you come out a little bit muddy. You’re kind of dirty in that sense and at least in some people’s eyes.

Yeah. And so it’s, it’s guilt by association in a social

Micah Tomasella: totally

Conner Jones: circumstance. Totally. I mean, CBS is about to fire Peter Atia five days into his new contract with them because he had emails with Epstein. It’s just not great.

Micah Tomasella: Yep. Yep. So let’s talk about the Clintons bill and Hillary. So on the Clinton side, the tone has shifted towards cooperation kind of all of a sudden, right?

They were gonna be held in contempt by Congress because they were refusing to show up and testify. Now that has changed ’cause some of their. Some of what they wanted, the standards they were met, it’s gonna be public. There’s gonna be certain people there, certain people not there, but they are gonna show up and testify.

So more recent updates show movement towards cooperating to avoid dragging things out [00:23:00]legally. The questions surrounding them around the Clinton’s involvement here mostly relate to past associations. Travel records and what level of knowledge that they actually had of what Epstein was doing. So at this point, it’s largely procedural.

It’s not, you know, they’re not gonna leave in handcuffs, but Republicans wanna make an example of them. Yeah. And to a certain extent, I’m not saying that that’s right or wrong, I’m just saying if the shoe was on the other foot, I know exactly what the other party would do too. It’s just one of those things it, you know, I was just reading Politico this morning.

I mean, in politicos they definitely have a bias, but they are the most connected news source in dc. Really kind of by far, and there’s a lot of Democrats publicly and privately. Can we just be done with the Clintons they bring? I mean, I was just reading this morning, just so many people saying they bring so much baggage.

Yeah, whenever their names come up. Bill had his series of controversies whenever he was president too. And so there are a lot of things coming outta that. So the Clintons is one thing. Let’s talk about Iran. So Iran negotiations, military developments, I’m gonna run [00:24:00] through this real quick. Iran is still one of the biggest pressure points right now internationally.

There are negotiations happening behind the scenes around specifically Iran’s nuclear program. Again, America bombed that and set them way back last year, but. At the same time, there’s some real military tension right now. Earlier this week, US forces shot down an Iranian drone that was moving towards a US aircraft carrier after warnings were ignored.

I was reading this morning about the specific type of drone it was, it’s a one-way attack drone, so you don’t see those drones unless something’s gonna happen, right? It’s not like an observation drone or whatever it might be. It’s a drone that flies into and detonates like it’s supposed to explode.

They’re not interesting. Trying to get the drone back, right? It’s drone. So you see that and you know exactly what kind of drone that is. And so that was headed towards a US aircraft carrier. And around the same time, Iranian gunboats approached a US flagged oil tanker in the strait of hormones. And a US Navy destroyer escorted it safely away.

But that stretch of water really [00:25:00] matters. And this is kind of what we, you know, hey, if something happens with Iran, if that straight gets cut off, well it, it’s a huge percentage of the world’s oil passes through there. And. Even small encounters could shut that down and cut off a lot of the world’s oil supply.

So you’re not trying to see a lot of conflict in that area. So there are scheduled talks coming up on Friday, but now Iran is we wanna change venues. We want certain countries there not certain countries there. But from the American side, you know, this seems to be protective and defensive focus on keeping the shipping lanes open.

Talks have not completely stopped either, so we’ll see what happens. Trump has been reluctant, seemingly, even though, I mean even like leaders in Saudi Arabia have been like, Trump just needs to bomb Iran. If we’re actually gonna see like regime change, like there are significant countries in that region basically begging the US to do something more.

And for some reason Trump has been reluctant to do more, so we’ll, we’ll see how all that turns out.

Conner Jones: Yeah, I’m very curious to see what [00:26:00] his decision’s gonna be. These talks on Friday are huge.

Micah Tomasella: Yes.

Conner Jones: It will basically determine if we’re gonna move forward in negotiations or if Trump’s gonna bomb him. It’s gonna come down to that.

If they agree to what the US is saying, they need to agree to the, the pressure’s on. There’s literally an armada sitting off the coast of Iran, just like there was sitting off the coast of Venezuela earlier this month with Trump just being like, I will. Take you out essentially to the leadership of Iran.

Anybody who killed protesters. Yeah. I’m gonna take you out specifically and we’re gonna topple your regime, but Trump’s trying to avoid that. He wants talks to go through. He wants to help the Iranian people, but he also wants to protect American interest. I know that’s the case. And he doesn’t want to send troops into harm’s way if he doesn’t have to.

Micah Tomasella: No. Yeah. I think no matter what your political affiliation is, the vast majority of Americans would agree that. Iran’s not great and they don’t treat their people super well. But at the same time, we don’t want more war, more innocent bloodshed. So prayerfully, this can be solved through diplomacy. Okay, let’s talk about Don Lemon real quick.

And the face Act. Okay. Specifically I wanna talk about that. So Don Lemon, that [00:27:00] situation has turned into a debate about. The difference between journalism and protests, and if you’re a journalist, are you immune to maybe what these protestors, there’s less argument. There’s less bipartisan argument right now over, you know.

Okay, so this, this church was stormed in Minneapolis a couple weeks ago. Don Lemon was a part of it, rushed on stage, interviewed the pastor. The pastor apparently has some sort of ties with ice anyway, they were just doing their normal Sunday church service. All these videos and pictures surface of these protesters running in, shouting, vulgarities, and basically disrupting the church service, right?

And so Don Lemon was a part of that. So Lemon was arrested by federal agents and faces, civil rights charges related to his ties to the protest. He says he was there strictly as a journalist and he’s gonna plead not guilty. You know, Conner, you and I were already talking about this. This is just gonna grow his platform significantly.

Oh yeah. Like him getting arrested only helps him as far as like his audience and his growth. But part of the legal backdrop that I wanna talk about is the FACE Act, which stands for Freedom of Access to Clinic [00:28:00] Entrances Act. Okay. So it’s a federal law from the nineties that makes it illegal to force to use force to threats or use threats or physical obstruction to interfere with people who are entering places like.

Like a Planned Parenthood, but it also applies to houses of worship, to any house of worship, a mosque, a synagogue, a church. So supporters of the arrest. Say if someone crosses from reporting into interference, the law should apply the same to everybody fearing that if it’s allowed, more places of worship can be rated in the name of protest.

I think that that’s my personal concern of if you just let this go. Then I think that we’re gonna see more of that happening. That you could just be in church and protestors can just rush in and try to ruin it. Like there, there should be a way to stop that. But then critics say that, you know, applying a law like this to journalists risk blurring the line between covering an event and participating it.

And I think that that’s what the trial’s gonna come down to. ’cause the FACE Act is the face act. So like they have something to charge him on. Was he premeditating this, was he truly a part of the protest or did he just kind of join in as a [00:29:00] journalist? That’s what the trial’s gonna come down to.

Conner Jones: Yeah, it is. And obviously he’s just a, he’s always been kind of polarizing because. One of the faces of CNN back in the day in the, in the first Trump era, and very liberal in his ideologies. And so a lot of people were like, ah, yeah, he’s getting what he deserves. But ultimately, yeah, there’s some constitutional law that comes into here.

Micah Tomasella: First Amendment, you have, look at law here, you know, because we want journalistic freedom, but we want freedom to worship too. I think most people are gonna agree with both of those things. You know, we just have to let it all play out and see. See what happens. But again, there’s, there’s just been less argument bipartisan wise about the actual protesters that got arrested because Okay, they clearly violated this act, right?

Yes. But Don Lemon, as a journalist, does he get different treatment? That’s that’s what they’re gonna decide.

Conner Jones: Yeah. It’s, it’s an interesting concept. I’m interested to see how it goes.

Micah Tomasella: All right. So lemme give a wrap up in just a general spiritual application here. As I was tying all of these stories together.

So when you zoom out of all of this, Conner. Conner [00:30:00] Jones, the common thread is how fast we’re pushed to react. I’m thinking about this even with the shooting of Alex Preti and the Renee Goode in Minnesota, and all the protests and immigration and deportation we’re pushed to react quickly from one video, from one headline.

Social media just explodes and then people lock into this strong opinion before all the facts are released. We released that episode last week, and there was more about Alex Preddy that came out after we released the episode, after we recorded it. We are doing our absolute best to report on what we know, but there’s more that’s even gonna come out on that story that we don’t know yet.

And there’s definitely more to every single thing that we’ve discussed that’s going to come out. But there is this thing in culture right now that we’ve got to rush. To conclusions and anger being against being for, from just watching a video or two. There’s just more to the story than that, right?

And that’s just the social media age that we’re living in. [00:31:00] But scripture calls us to a, a steadier pace and to not rush to judgment. I think James one 19 says, let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Proverbs 1813 says, if one gives an answer before he hears, it’s his folly and it’s his shame.

The takeaway this week is simple for me that I wanna share with all of you before re reposting something, arguing online, or forming a, a hard stance, just, just pause for a second. Just, just take a beat, say a prayer and ask if you actually know the full story and if your tone reflects Christ as much as your opinion does, maybe ask.

Does my opinion need to be shared right now? Is this going to contribute positively to the discussion and conversation? I also want to just say this on a personal level. I do not subscribe to the idea that silence is violence, okay? Or that watching one short video online suddenly gives us full context and perfect understanding of what [00:32:00] happens or perfect understanding.

That just isn’t true most of the time. Wisdom sometimes looks like slowing down, listening, learning, and admitting that we do not have every detail yet, so we can stay informed without letting outrage control us and we can care about truth without losing our humility or without losing our cool. And a loud cultural and political moment.

Like right now, we just seem to be in a really loud climate right now. Sometimes the strongest witness is not. Shouting louder than everybody else, or being the first to share your opinion. It’s wisdom, it’s patience, and it’s grace.

Conner Jones: Yeah, that’s so true. There’s so much we can take from that just slowing down.

Like we say, a lot of the times, just pause, slow down, don’t post immediately, don’t say something immediately. Think it through, pray it through. All of that. It made me think, speaking of Jelly Roll from earlier after the Grammys, he was asked about the ice stuff and all the political things. He said, why didn’t

Jelly Roll: he say anything?

Conner Jones: Yeah, yeah. He, and he was like, honestly. I don’t know enough. I don’t really sit on my phone. I don’t sit on social media. I’m just a dumb [00:33:00] redneck and I was like, you know what? Props to that.

Micah Tomasella: He’s probably enjoying his life more than most of us.

Conner Jones: Yeah. And just the self-awareness to be like. Why does anybody care?

What I think that’s what Ricky Dravet said a few years ago at the Golden Globes. Remember when he called out all the celebrities. He’s nobody cares what y’all think. Stop doing it. So it’s, I applaud it. Okay, Micah, thank you for that. Let’s answer a quick mail back question. We got this past week Bond wrote in and he said.

When you pick certain words and you repeat multiple times with quite a bit of vocal intensity, you take sides rather than play the middle and report the news. So are you news or are you commentary And he’s, I think he’s speaking specifically about our conversation last week with Dr. Ryan Denison on Alex Pretti on last week’s episode.

Micah, are we news or are we commentary?

Micah Tomasella: Oh, you’re gonna make me go first. I, I appreciate Vaughn’s email here ’cause I think it’s actually something that we should continue to call out. Kind of quantify and explain. There are people who tune in every week who listen for the first time. [00:34:00] There’s been people who have listened every week and have grown with us as we process through the news, as we question our own biases, as we process through exactly what we’re telling you all to process through of, Hey, run to scripture, not to your political bias or feeling our opinion, and be willing to be challenged in what it is that you believe in.

Listen to somebody who believes differently than you. And how do we invite God into news consumption? Like those are the main kind of key points that we keep drawing back to. I would say this, yes, we’re news and commentary. You guys would get kind of bored listening to our show if we just said, Hey, here’s what happened onto the next thing.

But our commentary I is we truly seek to have our commentary rooted in scripture and not one political affiliation or belief over other. Conner and our have our own biases and lens that we look through things. Every single person does. But we do lay it at the feet of Jesus consistently, and we’re very prayerful and fervent in our discussions and in our preparation to view each story as it comes, try to take [00:35:00] in all the facts and try to equip our audience with the details and with the facts.

But ultimately, we just wanna point people back to Jesus and say, there is another way between getting mad or between bearing your head in the sand. There’s somewhere in the middle of that, and we can figure that out together.

Conner Jones: I just would reiterate that too. I think it’s a great question and I’m happy to always talk about it too.

Micah Tomasella: Good

Conner Jones: one. Yeah. Commentary is truth based is what I would say. Truth with the capital T, it’s gonna always point back to the word of God, and that’s what we’re trying to do. We we’re not trying to, you know, pivot for one political party or the other, or always go after one. No, we call out both sides. We’re not just a political thing either.

Obviously we’d love talking about music and movies and TV and all of that, and providing,

Micah Tomasella: we also don’t claim to be experts, like we’ve never, we’ve never claimed. I mean, Conner and I don’t have our PhDs. We have a lot of, you know, a lot of our audiences older and more wise than us has lived, more life than we have, and we acknowledge that.

We don’t claim to be experts, but we’re thankful that God’s given us his platform that [00:36:00] we can grow together.

Conner Jones: Absolutely. Yeah. Great question Vaughn. Thank you for that. You guys can always send us questions at Culture brief@dennisonforum.org or shoot us in a message on Instagram at Culture Reef Podcast.

Go follow us over there, catch some clips of us as well. Okay, Micah, let’s jump into the check-in section.

Micah Tomasella: Let roll. So Trump and India’s Prime Minister Modi each announced on their social media platforms on the same day that they had reached an agreement. Between the two countries, the two largest democracies in the world is what people call them.

India and the USA have entered a trade agreement to lower American tariffs on Indian goods from 50% to 18%. That’s a big dip. Trump said that India would drop its tariffs on some US goods, buy 500 million in American products and stop buying Russian oil. None of which. The last part, Modi mentioned. I think that’s all being worked out on the back end.

That’s been Trump’s biggest thing. He’s trying to cut off Russia in order to stop the war. And so a big part is India purchases a lot of Russian oil that [00:37:00] keeps them going. That’s what this trade deal, I think Trump is, is trying to accomplish in that. Okay. Also, the government shutdown has ended. We mentioned that at the beginning, but lawmakers did reach a last minute agreement that brought the government shutdown.

It was a partial government shutdown to an end reopening all the federal agencies and restoring pay for furloughed workers who were just not even really furloughed for. Day and a half. The deal is temporary though, which means bigger debates and budget debates are still ahead. Specifically around DHS.

Conner Jones: Yeah.

Micah Tomasella: And ICE agents. So it’s gonna be a lot of negotiating on Capitol Hill between Republicans and Democrats and Trump over the next two weeks. Hopefully they can come to an agreement and we can fully fund the government for the rest of the year and stop talking about government shutdowns, which is again, we will say it over and over again until the cows come home.

Worst government shutdowns. Worst are a travesty.

Conner Jones: Yes.

Micah Tomasella: And only hurt people. They don’t really help people. Alright. Finally, Catherine O’Hara. She passed away at 71. She was best known for her roles as the mom and home alone. She was in [00:38:00] Beetlejuice and especially she was known recently for kind of a career resurgence as Moer Rose and Schitt’s Creek.

It’s interesting because she plays a character in that show that is. In the last phases of her career, and she’s trying to resurrect her career, kind of. Yeah. And in the same way that show did the same thing for her, and it’s probably what she, she’s gonna be most known for. She was hilarious in that show.

Tributes from fellow actors and fans have poured in just remembering her sharp comedic timing and her versatility. And really, she was just, she seemed to be really well liked and loved, and left a great legacy. So rest in peace and uncontroversial.

Conner Jones: Uncontroversial Hollywood star who was just beloved.

Yeah. And it, yeah,

Micah Tomasella: it’s sad. I mean, she had her opinions and beliefs, but like she, she did her job and she impacted a lot of people and she was, she was great. I mean, just across the board people were sad to see her go.

Conner Jones: Yeah. It was a sad one. I, she was so funny, man. I, I’m gonna, I’m gonna miss seeing her. She was, she’s supposed to do season two of the studio, one of my favorite shows, and now she won’t be on that.

So that’s, that’s really sad. Something else. Disney, new CEO over there, Josh Dero [00:39:00] has been named as the successor to Bob Iger to take over one of the most influential and biggest companies in the world. This is a massive deal because of how, just how much Disney impacts not just American culture, but world, world culture and generate younger generations coming up.

This is a big deal. Iger. I mean, he’s known as one of the, the best CEOs in history. He’s written books about it. Of course, his biggest. Setback was, he did not appoint a good successor back in 2020 and that’s when Bob Shaak came in, only lasted two years. ’cause it is a tough, tough job in Shaak. Kind of dealt with the political woes of 2020.

Yeah. And COVID. Yeah. And the don’t say gay bill in, in Florida. And it just didn’t go well. So now. Iger was brought back in by the board. He’s been there for the last three, four years and was told, you gotta find a successor. It seems he found two potential candidates. Dana Walden and Josh Dero. They’ve been pitting at each other for the last two years.

It’s been kind of a big saga in the Disney World.

Jelly Roll: Yeah.

Conner Jones: Probably gonna get its own TV show or book. And Josh Dero went out, man. He’s got a control. A movie studio, [00:40:00] TV studio, theme parks, E-S-P-N-A-B, C, all this stuff. And it’s a big deal just because of how

Jelly Roll: well.

Conner Jones: How much is gonna impact our kids and the content that comes outta there.

Is he gonna lean more progressive? Is he gonna try to go back to traditional family values the way that Disney used to be? I hope he does that and goes back to the more conservative values there and kind of pulls away from what Disney was headed towards. And that they’ve

Micah Tomasella: pulled on already. Doesn’t necessarily have to be conservative values.

No. It just doesn’t need to be like overtly one way or another. You know what I mean? Yeah. I, I think that’s probably the most logical path forward. I was reading this morning on, not this morning, I think maybe a couple days ago on The Morning Brew, which is a really interesting email newsletter you can sign up for.

They write up the news in kind of a fun way to consume, I think is like a good way to put it. But they were talking about how the Disney theme parks have, since Josh De has been over them, have consistently outperformed any projections, and it’s kind of been that. Anchor of Disney’s funding.

Conner Jones: It has

Micah Tomasella: A lot of their budget has come from parks when other parts of Disney’s business has been struggling.

Conner Jones: It’s been there,

Micah Tomasella: and so it makes sense that he took over [00:41:00] because he’s doing a good job. So good for him.

Conner Jones: It’s been so profitable. Even with economic woes, he’s still managed to get people to come to the parts and pay more and pay more for fast passes and stuff. They’re still coming and it’s, it’s, it was just kind of, it was clear to the board, I think.

Let’s do tune

Micah Tomasella: in Conner. What else?

Conner Jones: Tune

Micah Tomasella: in. What’s going on? Tell

Conner Jones: us, man, Micah, I love, I love when the drums start playing and you hear that Olympic theme, music start to play. Yeah. It’s cool that John Williams theme come in because the Olympics start. Actually, I think they start on Wednesday or Thursday of this week for with some preliminary sports.

But the opening ceremonies for the Milano Corino Winter Olympics will be on Friday. They’re broadcasting live at 1:40 PM Eastern on NBC and Peacock. They’ll play again that night. But dude, it’s gonna be awesome. I love the Olympics. I love the Winter Olympics. Micah, do you have a favorite Winter Olympic Sport?

Micah Tomasella: USA baby.

Conner Jones: Just USA? No,

Micah Tomasella: just USA. Whatever it is. Okay. If an American’s competing, I’m rooting for them. We also have the Super Bowl coming up. Tune in. Oh yeah. Seattle [00:42:00] Seahawks versus New England Patriots at five 30 Central Time on NBC. Enjoy the Super Bowl with your friends and family. It’s a beautiful American pastime.

Eat a lot of junk food. If it makes you happy, just enjoy the day. People always say that Americans should have Monday off because the Super Bowl Sunday is always such party, and it should be a national holiday, a federal holiday. Maybe one day it will be. But thank you for joining us is

Conner Jones: our message to our.

Bosses right here. Hey guys, would y’all, would y’all give us Monday off so we can enjoy the Super Bowl

Micah Tomasella: fully? I love it. I love it. Guys, thank you so much for joining us for this week’s episode of Culture Brief, a dentist informed podcast. All articles and videos mentioned will be linked in the show notes.

And if you enjoy today’s episode, would you please please subscribe and rate and review the show and share it with a friend? Why? Why don’t ya? And we’ll see ya next Thursday.

Conner Jones: See y’all.

The 9 Most Dangerous Apps for Kids | Crosswalk.com

New apps are constantly being created, so it’s important to monitor what your child downloads.

The 9 Most Dangerous Apps for Kids

“The bad guy’s not just at the bus stop anymore. He has entrance right into your kid’s bedroom and hand-held cellphone device.” Sexual predators can target your children even when your child is in the room down the hall. And sexual predators aren’t the only problem. Cyber-bullying and exposures to sexually inappropriate content are additional concerns. Not everything in the app store is truly a helpful tool for the end user, unfortunately.

New apps are constantly being created, so it’s important to monitor what your child downloads. Mostly, it’s important to know what each and every app does, whether it has any benefits, and where they can expose your children to danger. Our focus here isn’t so much on the geocaching types of adventure apps (think Pokemon Go) where the dangers involve wandering without paying attention.

Mostly, we want to help parents become aware of the online tricks predators use. Here are some things to look for as you determine which apps you need to monitor, specifically the 9 most dangerous apps for kids today.

1. Whisper

1. Whisper

1. Whisper

SLIDE 1 OF 10

This app allows you to post secrets anonymously and also allows you to chat with other users in your geographic area.

Why It’s Dangerous: Many children are drawn to communicating with strangers, feeling that their secrets are safer with them than with their friends. This app is a perfect tool for ill-intentioned strangers looking to connect with young people because it allows you to exchange messages with people nearest to you (so anonymity can be easily lost).

Conversation starter for Whisper – Why would you tell your secrets to strangers? If you are struggling with something, will a stranger care or be able to help you? Do you think it would be safe to accept their help/friendship?

2. YikYak

2. YikYak

2. YikYak

SLIDE 2 OF 10

All Yik Yak users are anonymous. They don’t create a profile or account, but they can post comments that are accessible to the nearest 500 people (within a 1-5 mile radius). A psychiatrist called this the most dangerous app he’d ever seen because it “can turn a school into a virtual chat room where everyone can post his or her comments, anonymously. Untruthful, mean, character-assassinating short messages are immediately seen by all users in a specific geographic area.”

Why It’s Dangerous: This app is causing problems in schools across the United States, with students maliciously slandering teacher, staff, and other students. In fact, several schools have now banned smart phones from campus because of this particular app.

Conversation starter for YikYak– What kind of things would a person want to post anonymously? How would you personally use this app? What would you post anonymously? Why?

3. Kik

3. Kik

3. Kik

SLIDE 3 OF 10

A free app-based alternative texting service that allows texts/pictures to be sent without being logged in the phone history. (Similar apps: Viber, WhatsApp, TextNow)

Why It’s Dangerous – Makes it easier for your child to talk to strangers without your knowledge since it bypasses the wireless providers’ short message services (SMS). Children also think they can “sext” without parents finding out. In addition, strangers can send your child a “friend request.”

Conversation starter for any app – Are you being safe with that app? Are you encouraging others or tearing them down? Are you being bullied? Are you putting out too much information about yourself? Is this an app that brings God glory?

4. Snapchat

4. Snapchat

4. Snapchat

SLIDE 4 OF 10

Allows you to capture an image or video and make it available to a recipient for a specific time. After that time limit is up, the picture/video automatically disappears forever…or so Snapchat claims. (Similar apps: Poke, Wire, and Wickr)

Why It’s Dangerous – Kids can receive (or send ) sexually inappropriate photos. This app also makes kids feel like they can “sext” or send inappropriate pictures without consequences because the image will self-destruct automatically. The truth is that nothing sent over the internet disappears. There are always ways to retrieve and capture those images.

Conversation starter for SnapChat – Why do you want to send pictures that disappear? Would you be okay with anyone seeing that pic?

5. Vine

5. Vine

5. Vine

SLIDE 5 OF 10

Allows users to watch and post six second videos.

Why It’s Dangerous –While many of the videos are harmless, porn videos do pop up into the feed, exposing your children to sexually explicit material. You can also easily search for/access porn videos on this app. Predators utilize this app to search for teens and find their location. Then they try to connect with them via other messaging apps.

6. ChatRoulette and Omegle

6. ChatRoulette and Omegle

6. ChatRoulette and Omegle

SLIDE 6 OF 10

These apps allow you to video chat with strangers.

Why It’s Dangerous – Not only are users chatting with strangers, they could be chatting with a fake stranger. “Chat sites like Chatroulette and Omegle have done their best to produce systems that warns users when the people they are chatting to are potentially using fake webcam software, however developers still manage to slip under their radars with frequent updates.” So a fifty-year-old man could set up a fake webcam and use images from a 15-year-old boy that looks like a teen celebrity to convince your child to send inappropriate pictures or get information about your child’s location.

7. Tinder

7. Tinder

7. Tinder

SLIDE 7 OF 10

Users post pictures and scroll through the images of other users. When they think someone is attractive they can “flag” the image. If that person has also “flagged” them in return, the app allows you to contact them.

Why It’s Dangerous – This app, and similar apps such as Down, Skout, Pure, and Blendr, are primarily used for hooking up.

8. Poof

8. Poof

8. Poof

SLIDE 8 OF 10

Hides other apps on your phone. You select which apps you would like to hide and their icons will no longer show up on your smartphone screen.

Why It’s Dangerous – If children have apps that they want to keep hidden from their parents, all they have to do is download this app and “poof,” their screen is clear of any questionable apps. So, if you see the poof app on their phone, you may want to ask them what they are hiding.

9. What now?

9. What now?

9. What now?

SLIDE 9 OF 10

Remember, your child’s safety is more important than their privacy. As a parent, you aren’t being nosy by checking their cell phone on a regular basis; you are being responsible. Perhaps your family could establish family media rules, such as having to check with a parent before downloading a new app or game. Having a common charging area so you can easily check phones could also be a good system for your family.

Also, take the time to explain to them (at an age-appropriate level) why you are asking them questions and checking their phone and privacy settings. Many children do not realize just how much information they are putting out there and how dangerous it can be.

Christian parents are called to instruct their children in biblical wisdom (Deuteronomy 6:6-8) and today that includes teaching them to apply biblical wisdom to media. Teaching your children how to choose appropriate apps and use them responsibly is vitally important in our media-saturated world.

And it’s all available for free! You can use their videos for jumping-off points for discussion and incorporate biblical principles into your conversation. As Christians, we’re not simply training children to keep them out of trouble, but so they can grow in wisdom as well.

It’s Gotten Worse: New MRC Study Shows Media Bias Against Trump Has Hit New High – More Than 9/10 at Times | The Gateway Pundit

If you look hard enough, you can find a silver lining, even in the atrocious behavior of the establishment media.

Unfortunately, to find that silver lining, you must first sift through weeks of actual media coverage.

In a new study of ABC’s “World News Tonight,” “CBS Evening News,” and “NBC Nightly News,” analysts at Media Research Center found that from Jan. 7 to Jan. 17, those three networks’ coverage of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, agents’ ongoing operation in Minneapolis, Minnesota, rated as negative an unfathomable 93 percent of the time, exceeding the amount of negative coverage those same networks have given to President Donald Trump in recent years.

On Jan. 7, anti-ICE activist Renee Good lost her life after trying to impede an ICE operation with her vehicle. Video showed Good disobeying law enforcement’s orders to exit her vehicle and instead hitting the accelerator. The vehicle then struck an ICE agent, who opened fire, killing the 37-year-old activist.

After Good’s death, the usual suspects tried turning her into the latest leftist martyr. Those suspects included the media’s Democrat propagandists masquerading as journalists.

Of course, media attacks on ICE really are attacks on Trump. After all, those establishment journalists did not cover ICE this way during the presidencies of Barack Obama or Joe Biden.

In past years, according to outlets such as the Washington Examiner and The Washington Times, the three major broadcast networks’ negative coverage of Trump checked in at 92 percent. It looks, therefore, as if those networks have grown even more brazen and desperate in their spewing of anti-ICE propaganda.

So where does one find a silver lining in all this negativity?

First, those nightly news broadcasts resemble a dinosaur from a different geologic era. Aside from the aging baby boomers, who nowadays gets their news from ABC, CBS, or NBC? True, the Google algorithm boosts those networks’ online coverage, as it does for all left-wing outlets. Still, those nightly news broadcasts may — and should — soon face extinction.

Second, the media propagandists have fooled no one. Americans have been onto them for a long time.

On the social media platform X, for instance, one of the most common sayings is “you don’t hate the media enough” or some variation of it, followed by the latest example of media treachery.

Finally, while we cannot say that media bias has had no impact, it certainly has not proven decisive. After all, despite (because of?) relentless media attacks, Trump won two (three?) presidential elections.

In short, imagine controlling ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MS NOW, The New York Times, the Washington Post, Hollywood, the universities, etc. — in other words, almost every major source of information and opinion in America — for decades. Then, imagine that you still failed to persuade a majority of voters — how awful must you be?

Democrat media propagandists — at least in rare moments of honesty — must look in the mirror and ask themselves that question. And that has to rate as the brightest silver lining of all.

Michelle Obama Urges People to Be ‘Mindful’ of Buying’ White Owned Clothes Brands | The Gateway Pundit

Former First Lady Michelle Obama has urged people to be “mindful” when buying from white-owned clothing brands.

During a recent interview clip circulating on social media, Obama says she actively tries to buy clothes from people of “color” in order to “make it a point.”

“If I hear of someone whose fashion that I like, and I know that they’re a person of color, I try to make it a point, but the clothes have to be available.”

“You know, I think we can all do some work to think about that balance in our wardrobes, you know.”

“What does our closet look like and who’s in it? Who are we supporting in it? You know, and I think if you have the money to buy Chanel, then you have the money to buy everybody.”

“And so let us be mindful, I think would be my advice.”

The suggestion is just one of numerous racially charged comments by Michelle Obama over recent years.

Last year, she claimed that Americans did not show her and her family “grace” because of their skin color, despite the fact her husband was elected in a landslide.

“You can’t afford to get anything wrong because you didn’t get the—at least until the country came to know us,” she said in an interview with NBC last October.

“We didn’t get the grace that I think some other families have gotten.”

Despite being repeatedly touted as a future presidential candidate, Obama recently put an end to that speculation on the grounds that Americans simply aren’t ready for a woman to lead the country.

“As we saw in this past election, sadly, we ain’t ready,” she said during an appearance at Brooklyn Academy of Music.

“That’s why I’m like, don’t even look at me about running, because you all are lying. You’re not ready for a woman. You are not.”

“You know, we’ve got a lot of growing up to do,” she continued. “And there’s still, sadly, a lot of men who do not feel like they can be led by a woman, and we saw it.”

MIC DROP: Gutfeld Obliterates the Left With BRUTAL Truth After Church Is Stormed by Radical Activists | The Gateway Pundit

Greg Gutfeld discusses the DOJ investigation into anti-ICE protests at a Minnesota church during a Fox News segment.

Greg Gutfeld delivered one of the most savage and unapologetic monologues of his career—ripping the radical Left to shreds following the shocking storming of a church in Minnesota by far-left activists.

While the corporate media rushed to downplay or justify the desecration of a house of worship, Gutfeld did what no one else on television was willing to do: tell the truth.

Appearing on Fox News’ The Five, Gutfeld dismantled the Left’s narrative piece by piece, exposing what he described as a dangerous and hollow ideology driven not by compassion but by “suicidal empathy” and rescue delusions.

Gutfeld pointed out the staggering hypocrisy on display.

The same activists who invented “safe spaces” were now violently violating them, storming a church, frightening children, and harassing pastors.

These are the same people who call conservatives “fascists,” Gutfeld noted while behaving like authoritarian enforcers themselves.

They claim to defend women, yet defend men who abuse women.
They accuse others of hate, while hunting political enemies.
They preach tolerance, while terrorizing families at worship.

Perhaps the most damning question raised by Gutfeld was also the simplest:

Why weren’t the police there?

In every other high-risk protest scenario — Antifa vs. Proud Boys, Hamas supporters vs. Jewish students, pro-life activists vs. feminists — law enforcement separates opposing groups to prevent violence.

But not here.

Gutfeld suggested this was no accident.

The chaos, he argued, was allowed even encouraged to create a spectacle and advance a political storyline of “protesters versus persecutors,” no matter how dishonest that framing may be.

Gutfeld saved his most profound critique for the end.

These “rescue fantasies,” he explained, exist because leftist culture has stripped women and men of real, meaningful roles and replaced them with performative outrage.

Motherhood. Teaching. Community leadership. Service. Work. Faith.

All of it replaced with screaming at cops and livestreaming moral tantrums.

“Your life is meaningless unless you’re out there screaming in a cop’s face.”

He contrasted this with the rise of “Internet dads,” figures who encourage young men to find purpose through responsibility and discipline, and asked the obvious question: Where is the Internet mom?

Where are the women willing to guide younger women away from this spiritual void and back toward meaning?

Instead, these activists end up exactly where their ideology leads them: in a church, screaming at people, empty of purpose and overflowing with rage.

Greg Gutfeld:
This isn’t about immigration. It isn’t about ICE. It isn’t about Trump. It is about suicidal empathy that is driven by a rescue fantasy.

You have all of these young, middle-aged women going out there because they have some emptiness in them, going out there in this rescue delusion—helping people they don’t know, strangers who are guilty of crimes. How can you defend that?

This is not protesters going to a church. That is a mob. The people that invented the phrase “safe spaces” are breaking it, frightening kids. These are the people that call us fascists, and they’re hunting people. These are the people that claim to defend women, and yet are defending men who abuse women. These are the people that call us homophobic, and yet they want to out ICE guys for using—I don’t know—gay sex apps.

Let’s be honest here. Fry’s a pussy. He’s scared of these people, or else he would stand up for it, calling it love.

There’s no such thing as a mob with love. Imagine showing this tape to Don Lemon 10 years ago—15 years ago—and saying, “Is this where you saw yourself, Lemon? Crashing a church service? Scaring kids? Attacking a pastor? Was this your hope and dream—to do this?”

Radicalization is gradual. Black Lives Matter is now Bad Guys Matter. Now you’ll defend anything. You’re defending rapists. These are the people you’re defending. On what basis did I get to rapists? You had your chance. You brought this up.

Where are the police? When you have Hamas supporters and Jewish students, police make the separation. Antifa, Proud Boys—police make the separation. Pro-life activists and feminists—police make the separation. Somehow, that separation is not even here, even when the leaders are framing this as protesters versus persecutors, because that’s part of this fantasy world that you live in.

And yet they decide they don’t need cops to separate it. The ICE agents aren’t supposed to deal with that. That’s what the police do. You’ve got to ask yourself: why aren’t the police there? Because it’s a deliberate thing to create this. It’s a spectacle.

Then I’ll finish: this is not an isolated thing.

These rescue fantasies exist because the real power of women—which is in the roles of community, whether it’s wife, mother, work, teaching—that stuff has been marginalized by our modern leftist culture and has to be replaced by activism.

Your life is meaningless unless you’re out there screaming in a cop’s face. You have all these sad people out there, this liberation role-playing, and you’re egging it on. You should not be egging this on, Jessica.

This is a time for brave women. We saw the rise of the “Internet dad,” whether it was Elon Musk, Jordan Peterson, Mike Rowe, Scott Adams, Joe Rogan—people who decided to help young men find meaning in life, whether through service, hard work, or constructive activities.

Where is the Internet mom? The women who step up and show younger women a way out of this spiritual dead end—because it is a spiritual dead end—and how apt it is that they end up in a church screaming at people.

This activism doesn’t produce anything but suffering because it replaces what is truly meaningful in people’s lives. That’s what I meant about the backdrop. It is not about good.

It is not about the police officer. It’s about how we got here and why we’ve talked about this over and over again—whether it was George Floyd, whether it was ICE, whether it was the border guard with the whip. It’s all the same.

It’s a desire to be part of this rescue fantasy because your life’s so freaking empty.
