In-Depth: The United Nations Vs The God Of The Universe | Harbingers Daily » Feed by Robert Gottselig

Robert Gottselig

Let’s be honest, the United Nations is nothing more than the United nothing. Last week at the UN, a shameful declaration for a two-state solution was endorsed.

Of course, the United States voted no. “Make no mistake,” the US told the General Assembly, “this resolution is a gift to Hamas.” Israel’s UN ambassador Danny Dannon rightfully stated that “the only beneficiary is Hamas.”

“When terrorists are the ones cheering, you are not advancing peace; you are advancing terror,” Dannon underscored.

Let me get this straight… Out of the 193 members in the United Nations General Assembly, 142 countries—including Canada—voted in favor of this declaration.

Only now have they condemned Hamas. What in the world took this assembly so long to recognize the demonic, horrific atrocities of October 7th, 2023? That alone is despicable. Now, they want to reward Hamas and the Palestinians with a two-state solution.

Here’s a news flash: the Palestinians are not interested in a two-state solution. Their mantra, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” means no Israel. If you want to talk about a genocide, there you have it. They dream of Israel’s eradication, they chant it daily, and they teach it to their children.

The Palestinians are never going to be satisfied with pre-1967 borders. They already had those borders from 1948 to 1967. Syria occupied the Golan Heights, Jordan occupied the so-called “West Bank”—Judea and Samaria, which is Israel’s heartland—and Egypt occupied the Gaza Strip. There was no talk about creating a “Palestinian state” between 1948 and 1967. And yet, in 1964, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) was created. What were they going to liberate if they already possessed pre-1667 borders?

What the world is demanding Israel return to is not going to do any good. The Palestinians want the entirety of Israel—not two states living side by side.

This whole idea of a “long lost land called Palestine” that had its own unique culture, people, and government is a lie. The name “Palestine” came into effect in 135 AD when the Roman Emperor Hadrian, enraged by the second uprising by the Jewish people against Roman authorities, renamed the land “Provincia Syria Palestina.”

Everyone living there was known as Palestinians—the Jewish people included. In fact, the Arabs never wanted to be called “Palestinians” until Yasser Arafat, Chairman of the PLO, came on the scene. All of a sudden, the narrative changed, and he rewrote history.

Our foolish world leaders, the media, and everyone else who hate Israel buy the lie—and it’s shameful.

In the past, Israel has welcomed a two-state solution, bending over backwards to make peace with the Palestinians. Her enemies, on the other hand, would rather push her into the sea than see the land divided. The Palestinians teach their children every day to hate Israel and the Jewish people—in their school textbooks, in their mosques, in their marketplaces, and in their media. They are corrupting the minds of the youth to think that Israel has stolen “Palestinian land.” Nothing could be further from the truth. They encourage their young people to be martyrs and to kill Jews. When they do kill Jews, they brazenly receive compensation from the Palestinian Authority’s “Pay for Slay” program to look after their families. It’s despicable and disgusting.

The world is not sympathetic to the Jewish people. Despite the massacre of Israelis on October 7th, they want to reward Hamas and the Palestinians with a two-state solution.

Furthermore, the Palestinians and Arabs rejected a two-state solution on at least four occasions—1937, 1947, 2000, and 2008. If that’s not enough to show the world that the Palestinians aren’t interested in two states, look at 2005. Israel turned over the entirety of the Gaza Strip, free of all Jews, to make peace. Ariel Sharon, the Israeli Prime Minister at the time, said, “Let’s make peace.” How did that turn out? The “test run” failed. Forty thousand rockets rained down, and the most horrific atrocities imaginable were committed against Israel. It didn’t work out well then, and it would by no means work out well in the future.

Yet the United Nations pressures Israel while ignoring these facts. They should be called the United Nothing because, really, they are good for nothing.

The United Nations issued more resolutions against Israel than any other country combined. The UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) has had 103 condemnatory resolutions against Israel, 38 against Russia, 37 against Syria, and only 15 against Iran. The UN General Assembly has had 154 condemnatory resolutions against Israel, 24 against Russia, 20 against Syria, and only 8 against Iran. That says it all.

When it comes to the United Nations Security Council, Amir Tsarfati posted a chart showing that since October 2023, over 60 meetings have been held on Gaza, while a staggering 215.9 million people in other countries face hunger emergencies. But let’s blame Israel!

Tsarfati is right when he says, “No Jews, no news.” Sadly, this is the world we are living in.

So why are these countries voting in favor of this disgraceful declaration? Because they refuse to look to God’s word! World leaders are hellbent on casting resolutions against Israel, and they have no idea what they are doing.

It’s antisemitic. Plain and simple.

Wake up, world! You are bringing God’s judgment upon you and your countries. In Genesis 12:3, God simply says that He will bless those who bless the Jewish people and He will curse those who curse them. Contrary to statements by Tucker Carlson, this includes the modern state of Israel!

Genesis 12:1-3 reads, “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

That promise, amongst the other six promises that we find there in this Abrahamic covenant, is sealed by God himself in Genesis 15. Abraham is in a deep sleep, and God ratifies this unconditional and everlasting covenant. Israel’s name is on the title, and nobody’s going to change that.

I’m not saying you have to agree with the Israeli government. I am saying that God has promised the land of Israel to the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Period. If you don’t like that, take that up with the God of this universe!

If you are going against Israel, God’s chosen people, while dividing the land He swore to them as an everlasting possession, you are heading for severe judgment. In Joel 3:2, God, referring to the Tribulation period, says, “I will also gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land.”

All nations, all means all!

When Israel’s enemies of the past conquered the land, they never sat at a drawing table and said, “Let’s divide the land.” They kept it for themselves. Only in our day are they dividing up the land.

If leaders want peace and prosperity, they need to stand with Israel.

The sad reality is that the nations will continue to be united against Israel. It is only going to intensify in the coming years and culminate at the second coming of Christ. In fact, there is also going to be a demonic plan in the Tribulation period to finally destroy the Jewish people altogether. It will come from a leader called the Antichrist, who is possessed by Satan.

Satan hates the Jewish people because one day they are going to call upon their Messiah, and He will return. Jesus’ return spells Satan’s doom. In the book of Revelation, we read that Satan will be cast into the bottomless pit for a thousand years and then eventually into the lake of fire for all eternity. He knows that. If he can prevent the Jewish people from calling upon the name of the Messiah, he can’t be judged. That’s the crux of the matter. That’s the crux of antisemitism. It is satanic in origin.

There should never be a Christian standing against Israel. If so, they need to have a long talk with the God of this universe. True believers love the things God loves. God loves Israel and the Jewish people.

In Zechariah 12, God says that He will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. Think about that for a moment. In Matthew 25, when Jesus returns, He is going to judge the nations for how they treated His brothers—the Jewish people. That’s how much Jesus loves them. If you hate Israel, you should let that sink in.

Intellectuals Going Against the Flow | CultureWatch

Bernard-Henri Lévy on Marxism and Islamism:

It is usually much easier to go with the flow – especially when it comes to intellectual and ideological debates. Public intellectuals and social commentators in the West are often of the left, and hostile to Western values and beliefs. In France one thinks of some recent figures such as Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Michel Foucault, Jacques Derrida, and Jean-François Lyotard.

But some French intellectuals have gone against the flow. The Jewish philosopher and public intellectual Bernard-Henri Lévy is one case in point. I have long been following this important thinker. Among other things, he was a founder of the Nouveaux Philosophes (New Philosophers) school back in the late 60s, rejecting his former love affair with Marxism.

Here I want to look at just two of his many works. They show his consistency, in that before he was taking on the Islamists, he was taking on the Communists. Tackling both in places like France is not always an easy task. But these two books show that he has been willing to stand against the tide.

Back in 1977 he wrote La barbarie à visage humain, which was released in English in 1979 as Barbarism with a Human Face (Harper & Row). And just last year he authored Israel Alone (Wicked Son). Both books deserve close reading, but a few select quotes from each might tempt you to getting copies of them.

Barbarism with a Human Face

“The totalitarian state is not quite a secular State without faith; it is more precisely a State which secularizes religion and creates profane beliefs. Hitlerism again: If the religion of the beyond is what it intends to destroy, it replaces it with something else, the religion of Life, Nature, and Hell. Reread Mein Kampf: an apology for death and the dead, blood and race, the soil and tradition. All this weighty and dense immanence is made divine, or rather satanic, as the basis for a new cult of the totalitarian state. . . . The totalitarian State is not a State without religion; totalitarianism is the religion of the state. It is not atheism but literally idolatry. (p. 137)

I learned more from reading The Gulag Archipelago than from many erudite commentaries on totalitarian languages. I owe more to Solzhenitsyn than to most of the sociologists, historians, and philosophers who have been contemplating the fate of the West for the last thirty years. It is enigmatic that the publication of this work was enough to immediately shake our mental landscape and overturn our ideological guideposts. . . . Solzhenitsyn is the Shakespeare of our time, the only one capable of showing us the monsters and forcing us to see the horror and confront evil. He is our Dante as well, for he has the poet’s fabulous power of creating images and myths for what by nature eludes analysis and conceptual form. We needed a Divine Comedy to represent Hell, the modern hell of the Gulag, whose horrendous topography he has outlined in book after book….

All Solzhenitsyn had to do was to speak and we awoke from a dogmatic sleep. All he had to do was to appear, and an all too long history finally came to an end… (pp. 153-154)

Marx, then, the Machiavelli of the century. The U.S.S.R., or philosophy in power. It has been proved, in any case, that socialists are not only dreamers, gentle and tireless utopians, projecting into the heaven of ideas the sighs and torments of the humble and humiliated; but that Stalinism is a mode of socialism, socialism’s mode of being, socialism as it is embodied in reality. That the classless society is not only an optimistic and messianic fantasy, unrealizable and inaccessible like all political dreams; but that, on the contrary, it exists, it is another name for the Terror, another name for the destruction of the kulaks, the very real outcome of the unparalleled project of tearing a people from its moorings, its lineage, and it geography. That the Gulag is not a blunder or an accident, not a simple wound or aftereffect of Stalinism; but the necessary corollary of a socialism which can only actualize homogeneity by driving the forces of heterogeniety back to its fringes, which can aim for the universal only by confining its rebels, its irreducible individualists, in the outer darkness of a nonsociety. No camps without Marxism, said Glucksmann. We have to add: No socialism without camps, no classless society without its terror truth. (pp. 157-158)

Image of Israel Alone
Israel Alone by Levy, Bernard-Henri (Author)

Israel Alone

I arrived in Israel the morning after October 7. At Ben Gurion Airport, alerts were sounding at a steady pace. Frozen despite the late summer heat, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem seemed like dead cities. Likewise, Sderot, a city on the Gaza border that has been martyred many times, had been emptied of nearly all of its inhabitants. I knew this city. I have made a point of visiting it on each of my trips to Israel over the past twenty years. And in 2009 and 2014, during the last two Gaza wars, when people spent entire days in shelters because of the rockets, my reporting kept me there somewhat longer. But never had I seen it so desolate. (pp. 3-4)

“The responsibility for these children’s deaths lies first and foremost not with Israel but with those who turned them into human shields.

It lies not with the grandchildren of the survivors of Auschwitz, whose searing testimony opened the world’s conscience to the outrage of the killing of children, but with the Islamic terrorists who, after years spent indoctrinating their own children in anti-Jewish hate and impressing them into service, hijacking and militarizing their parents, imposing on them a sharia ever less spiritual and ever more sadistic, working their people like dough or, more accurately, like a metal with which they would fashion a bomb aimed at Israel and designed explicitly to explode into shards.

The responsibility lies with the terrorists who set up their stores of weapons and ammunition, their barracks and command centers, their firing ranges and training grounds next to mosques, in hospitals and schools, and at the entrances to tunnels dug under the most populous zones of the miniature Leviathan that Gaza had become.

It lies with those who turned a deaf ear when Israel gave families In Gaza City a deadline of twenty-four hours (extended to two days, then three, then a week) before Intensifying its strikes on the bases occupied by the pogromists who had just slit the throats of Israeli children or shot them in the face.

It lies with those who forbade compliance with the Israeli ultimatum; stationed pickups at the access to the Salah al-Din road, which Israel was opening for several hours each day to permit evacuations; or simply fired on Gazans who took the risk of disobeying them and, in some documented cases, had to be escorted out under the protection of an IDF unit.

It lies also, by the way, with the Egyptians, who persist in denying entry to Gazans wishing to leave the Strip in advance of the Rafah offensive. Egypt had opened its border to Libyans fleeing Gaddafi’s tanks. Erdogan, barbaric as he is, opened Turkey’s border to allow Syrian refugees to escape bombardment by Bashar al-Assad. In every war, in fact, there is always a neighboring state that, however poor, deprived, or prey to its own convulsions, offers temporary shelter to fellow humans in danger of imminent death. Always, that is, except here, except in the case of Egypt, which is standing by, impassive, while its Palestinian neighbors vainly cry out and pound at its door. (pp. 127-129)

This war is a horrific war that the Israelis did not want. Their enemy is a terrible adversary whose declared aim is to post not only the greatest possible number of Jewish deaths but also the greatest possible number of martyrs on its own side. These hybrid combatants who hide in tunnels that they do not use to provide shelter to their own people, and who resurface outside buildings full of civilian men, women, and children, expose themselves to IDF soldiers as if to say, “Kill me if you can, but kill them with me, because in so doing you’ll be killing children, and by killing children you’ll return to being the outrage of the world.” (pp. 130-131)

Bonus quote

Writing in the Wall Street Journal last week in a piece titled “Three Big Lies About the Israel-Hamas War” Lévy said:

A genocidal army doesn’t take two years to win a war in a territory the size of Las Vegas. A genocidal army doesn’t send SMS warnings before firing or facilitate the passage of those trying to escape the strikes. A genocidal army wouldn’t evacuate, every month, hundreds of Palestinian children suffering from rare diseases or cancer, sending them to hospitals in Abu Dhabi as part of a medical airlift set up right after Oct. 7. To speak of genocide in Gaza is an offense to common sense, a maneuver to demonize Israel, and an insult to the victims of genocides past and present.”

We clearly need more public intellectuals to go against the flow and speak truth in a world smothered in lies and falsehoods. I for one am very thankful for the likes of Bernard-Henri Lévy.

Os Guinness on Israel, the West, and Islamism | CultureWatch

The Middle East and the crisis in the West:

For decades now Os Guinness has been one of our leading Christian thinkers and cultural commentators. His many important books have often been discussed on these pages. I happen to own 24 of them, and his latest volume is another brilliant examination of where we are at, and how things might pan out in the days ahead.

I refer to Our Civilizational Moment: The Waning of the West and the War of the Worlds (Kildare, 2024). Guinness believes the West is at a critical juncture, and its very existence might be in real jeopardy. How we respond to the major crises facing the West will determine what sort of future we have – indeed, if we will even have a future.

His brief (190-page) volume contains seven main chapters. The first three look at our current place in history, our Christian past, and how the Enlightenment was in many ways a great disrupter to what had gone before. The next four chapters look at the main waves crashing over us:

The Red Wave: Radical Marxism
The Rainbow Wave: The Sexual Revolution
The Black Wave: Radical Islamism
The Gold Wave: Corrupt Elitism

The entire book deserves careful treatment, but with the current turmoil in the Middle East, I want to limit myself to the Black Wave of Chapter 6. Future articles will discuss some of the other very worrying flash points that confront us.

Guinness starts his chapter this way:

The Black Wave is the myriad of radical Islamist movements whose avowed common aim is to destroy the “Little Satan” in their midst, Israel, and then go on to bring down the “Great Satan,” America in the West. “Death to the two Satans” was proclaimed by the Ayatollah Khomeini himself during the Iranian Revolution in 1979. It is the Islamist way of setting out the apocalyptic enemies that must be defeated if the universal and millennial hopes of the Islamists are to be fulfilled.

Thus the ongoing global intifada to see the West wiped out and replaced by a universal Islamic caliphate. But the really incredible thing is how many clueless wonders in the West are happy to be strange bedfellows with the Islamists. Indeed, it is the nexus between Western woke Marxists and the Islamists that is the real problem today. The Red and Black Waves have come together in an act of all-out war against the West:

Let there be no confusion. The nexus between Islamism and the progressive left is where the Long March through the institutions meets the open border crisis in both Europe and America, and where the Red Wave of radical Marxism converges with the Black Wave of radical Islamism. It represents an incalculable danger to America and the West, as well as to Israel in the Jews. All Americans who heard American protesters supporting Hamas and shouting “Death to America” are now without excuse. Both the Great Satan and the Little Satan and are now in the crosshairs of the radicals’ sights. To defend the Jews and Israel now is to defend America, the West, and civilization itself.

Image of Our Civilizational Moment: The Waning of the West and the War of the Worlds
Our Civilizational Moment: The Waning of the West and the War of the Worlds by Guinness, Os (Author)

Of course as Guinness makes clear, to stand up for Israel and Jews around the world is not to suggest they are above criticism and assessment: “Needless to say, to defend the Jews is not to give Israel a carte blanche rationale for whatever they do, any more than it would mean defending our mothers, right or wrong.”

He reminds us of the REAL Hamas, including its constant use of propaganda and fake news, its use of human shields, its use of “pay for slay” stipends to families of terrorists, its stated aim of eradicating Israel, and so on. And he reminds us that Palestinians have always rejected any “two-state” solutions. Iran and Hamas have made it perfectly clear that only one state can exist, and one must go: Israel.

After looking at the longstanding history of anti-Israel and anti-Jewish sentiment and practice, Guinness writes:

One unassailable conclusion confronts anyone who takes all this history into account. Hatred of the Jews and Israel is the cause and not the consequence of the conflicts in the Middle East. As Dennis Prager sums up the age-old problem succinctly, “The conflict may be the hardest to solve, but it is the easiest to explain. In a nutshell, it’s this: One side wants the other side dead.” . . . For the radicals, the two-state solution is irrelevant. For them, the final solution is the only solution. Jew-hatred is the longest ongoing hatred in history and an openly exterminationist and genocidal hatred, but in the modern world, Naziism and Islamism were the chief incubators of this hatred of the Jews. When finally allied later with left-wing progressive radicalism in the success of the Long March through the institutions of the West, this toxic amalgam now fuels the dangerously mounting antisemitism across to America, across Europe, and across the world, thereby fueling the “new anti-Jewish war” and underlying assault on the West that is the target behind them both.

This includes all of us. ‘We are all Jews today’ is no mere trite phrase, but the reality in which we live, if we care at all for western civilisation. Their struggle is our struggle. Enmity against Israel and the Jews is enmity against the West. Guinness closes his chapter with these words:

The defense of Israel and the Jewish people will always be first and foremost the defense of Israel and the Jewish people. But the defense of Israel and the Jewish people has immense global significance too. It is critical to peace in the Middle East, critical to the defense and preservation of the ideas and ideals of Western civilization, and critical for the very future of humanity in the possibility of a human-friendly world. For those who understand, the reality is that “We are all Jews now.” Israel is not just fighting Hamas and the different expressions of radical Islamism. Israel is fighting the enemies of the West and fighting for civilization itself. The menace of the Black Wave of Islamism is extremely grave, above all when it coincides with the Red Wave of radical Marxism and dominates the intellectual, political, and cultural centers of the West. The illiberal left-Islamist axis can only be ignored at the peril of America and the West.

Not just Jews and Christians, but anyone concerned about the fate of the West needs to get this book, digest it, and share it with a friend.

On a Palestinian State | CultureWatch

Problems with a two-state solution:

There have long been calls for a ‘Two-State Solution’ or recognition of a Palestinian state – whatever that means. Now Canada, France, and Britain are demanding a Palestinian State with Australia very likely to join them. A few inconvenient facts need to be offered here. Let’s begin with a timeline:

1917 – Britain takes control – Gaza becomes part of the British Mandate for Palestine. The Balfour Declaration expressed support for the establishment of a “national home for the Jewish people” in Palestine.
1947, November 29 – the UN endorses the Partition Plan
1948, May 14 – Israel declares independence
1948, May 14 – Five Arab nations attack Israel
1949, February to July – The “Green Line” armistices
1949 to 1967 – Egypt controls Gaza but never integrates it
1967 – Israel takes over Gaza in the Six-Day War
1990s – The Palestinian Authority (PA) takes administrative control of Gaza after the Oslo Accords, in theory to offer Palestinian self-rule
2000 to 2005 – During the Second Intifada terrorist attacks from Gaza escalated
2005 – Israel withdraws from Gaza, giving it to Palestinians
2007 – They vote in the terrorist regime Hamas
2023 October 7 – The attack on Israel

The US ambassador to Israel from 2017-2021, David Friedman, in his recent book One Jewish State looks at this history in detail, and says this:

Not only has there never been a country called Palestine, but for centuries, there weren’t even any borders for Palestine – not being a country and not having sovereignty over any particular territory, it wasn’t relevant. It was all just a land mass within the Ottoman Empire. That needed to change with the conclusion of World War I as the Ottoman Turks relinquished their claim to Palestine.…

Under the British mandate for Palestine, the territory extended to what is today referred to as Gaza, Israel, Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), and Jordan. In 1946, the British transferred the Palestinian territory east of the Jordan River to the newly established Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. With that, approximately 72 percent of British Mandatory Palestine was no longer subject to administration under the mandate. The Kingdom of Jordan is thus a Palestinian state—a state created from almost three-quarters of Palestine. To this day, a majority of the inhabitants of Jordan are Palestinians as well. But the kings of Jordan—there have been four since the founding of the kingdom—have strenuously resisted being referred to by this reality. Jordan does not seek to absorb any more Palestinians—they want another Palestinian state to be created elsewhere.

After 1946, the British mandate had shrunk to just Gaza, Israel, and Judea and Samaria. By international law, this territory was earmarked as a homeland for the Jewish people. These rights derived first from the Balfour Declaration of 1917, whereby the British government undertook to favor the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine without prejudice to the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities. (pp. 46-47)

And in a booklet penned back in 2011, Sol Stern reminds us what this meant: “Forever after, Jews were forbidden to settle in any part of Transjordan. Four-fifths of the original Palestine mandate now became Judenrein [Jewish free].”

Many attempts over decades have failed to solve these problems in the Middle East. The son of a Hamas cofounder, and ex-Palestinian militant Mosab Hassan Yousef very accurately summarised the situation: “October 7 didn’t happen because ‘Palestinians’ were denied a state. It happened because they were given one.”

Melanie Phillips has penned a piece on this in a new Substack column. She says this in part:

As senior Hamas official Razi Hamad has exulted:

“The initiative of several countries to recognise a Palestinian state is one of the fruits of October 7. We have proven that victory over Israel is not impossible, and our weapon is a symbol of Palestinian honour.”

Take a bow, Starmer, Macron and Carney, for empowering the Hamas genocide cult. Recognising “Palestine” is in itself ludicrous since this alleged state has no shape, no borders, no government; it is a phantom, and it cannot be willed into existence just because countries say they recognise it. And since its sole purpose — according to the Palestinian Arabs themselves — is to be a staging post for the destruction of Israel, Starmer, Macon and Carney have now signed up their countries to that infernal agenda.

In Britain, around 40 members of the House of Lords, including a number of eminent lawyers, wrote to the Attorney-General to warn fruitlessly that recognising “Palestine” would be illegal under international law. In a separate opinion Malcolm Shaw KC, another leading UK lawyer, has said recognising a Palestine state would destabilise the international legal order.

Israel is now caught in a trap. It’s being forced to make a diabolical choice between, on the one hand, being placed once again at the mercy of genocidal fanatics on its doorstep and, on the other, being destroyed by world opprobrium.

And James Macpherson has also written on this:

Recognition of a Palestinian State is so poorly thought through in fact… it probably isn’t even legal. Some of the UK’s most respected lawyers have written to Keir Starmer warning that recognising a Palestinian State would break international law.

They have pointed out that International Law says a state must possess four things:

-A defined territory.

-A permanent population.

-A government.

-The capacity to enter into relations with other states.

Palestine, awkwardly, ticks exactly none of these boxes. There’s no agreement over the borders of a proposed Palestinian state. And as for a permanent population, they point out that the Palestinians have always been regarded as refugees. If governments are now recognising Palestinians as a permanent population, then they should immediately be stripped of refugee status and the billions of dollars in funding that goes with it.

The 40 members of the House of Lords also argue that there is no functioning single government to recognise – half the territory the West wants to recognise as Palestine is governed by a group the West has proscribed as a terrorist group. https://dailydeclaration.org.au/2025/08/04/momentum-palestinian-statehood/

It is utter insanity to insist that a permanent Palestinian state be established on the border of Israel – a state run by those who have sworn to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. Israel is entirely justified in not making any deals with Hamas and other terror organisations that exist for one purpose: to eradicate every single Jew, not just in the Middle East, but around the world.

Image of The Palestinian Delusion: The Catastrophic History of the Middle East Peace Process
The Palestinian Delusion: The Catastrophic History of the Middle East Peace Process by Spencer, Robert (Author)

Robert Spencer in his important book, The Palestinian Delusion: The Catastrophic History of the Middle East Peace Process said this:

The Islamic doctrines of jihad, along with the supremacist and anti-Semitic passages of the Qur’an and Sunnah, have been responsible for the entire problem from the beginning up to now. They engendered the hostility that Arabs had for the Zionist settlers in Palestine, even as those Arabs moved close to the new Jewish arrivals in order to benefit from the economic opportunities they offered. They led to the failure of every negotiated peace settlement, because each was predicated upon the Arabs’ accepting the existence of a Jewish state in Palestine, no matter how small, and such a state was plainly un-Islamic, a violation of the Qur’anic the command to “drive them out from where they drove you out.” They have led to the ferocious demonization of the Jewish state among young Palestinians, ensuring that the conflict will continue for decades to come no matter what agreements are made. (pp. 216-217)

And he says this about political settlements and the two-state solution:

Prime Ministers, presidents, diplomats, and other negotiators should also realize that the two-state solution and any other solution that will ever be devised will never blunt the force of the jihad against Israel, or take away the impetus for that jihad. In light of that, it doesn’t really matter which one is ultimately implemented; none will solve the problem.

The Israeli withdrawal from Gaza in 2005 gave the world an intimation of what a Palestinian state would be like. Mortimer Zuckerman and the others who raised money for greenhouse equipment for the Palestinians assumed that once the Israelis were gone and the ‘occupation’ was over, the Palestinians would lay down their weapons and resume normal life. Many likewise continue to hope that if a Palestinian state is finally established, Palestinians will end their jihad against Israel and the two states will indeed live side by side in peace. But the ‘river to the sea’ chant that has become so popular among leftists in the United States is a maximalist imperative that leaves no room for any Jewish state at all. The State of Palestine would, like unoccupied Gaza, become a new base for jihad attacks against diminished Israel. It would inevitably be a rogue state, dedicated only to the destruction and conquest of its Jewish neighbour.” (pp. 218-219)

It is time to regain some mental and moral sanity here. With that in mind, four brief words from the courageous Dutch politician Geert Wilders are worth closing this piece with:

“Never compromise with evil. Destroy Hamas completely and ignore the useful idiots of the EU. Hamas is responsible for the famine and hell in Gaza, and no one else. If they want peace, they should surrender and free the hostages.”

“Hamas thugs force an Israeli hostage to dig his own grave. And weak and treacherous Western leaders and spokesmen call for sanctions against Israel. The West is sick. Hamas must disappear.”

“Victims don’t hold hostages. Savages do.”

“Heroes support the hostages. Traitors support Hamas.”

Israeli Ambassador Mike Huckabee Threatens To Expose State of Israel For ‘No Longer Welcoming Christian Organizations’ | Protestia

In a letter dated Wednesday, July 16, that has since been leaked to Israeli media, U.S. ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee threatened to publicly expose “harassment and negative treatment” against Christian ministries and missionaries by the Israeli Visa department.

Addressed directly to Israeli Interior Minister Moshe Arbel and indirectly to a number of Israeli officials, Ambassador Huckabee decried instances of discrimination by the Israeli Visa department since the beginning of 2025, which has placed numerous Christian organizations “under investigation”, creating procedural delays in the issuance of visas. The groups Huckabee cited include the Baptist Convention of Israel, the Christian Missionary Alliance, and the Assemblies of God.

Explaining that “We feel we are being treated as adversaries,” Huckabee threatened to “publicly announce throughout the United States that the State of Israel is no longer welcoming Christian organizations and their representatives and is instead engaging in harassment and negative treatment toward organizations with long-standing relationships and positive involvement toward Zionism and friendship to the Jewish people and the state of Israel.”

He went on to say that further U.S. actions could include informing Christians that their “generous contributions” to Zionist groups were “being met with hostility”, issuing travel advisories against travel to Israel, and conducting reciprocal treatment against Israelis seeking U.S. visas.

In a July 17 response, Interior Minister Moshe Arbel denied Huckabee’s claims, stating, “Every request that was personally brought to the attention of my office has been addressed within an exceptionally short time frame.” Moshe went on to criticize Huckabee for his decision to send the letter to a wide range of senior officials without first directly contacting him or the Interior Ministry directly.

Even though Israeli non-profits receive millions of dollars annually from Christian Zionist groups, Israel actively discriminates against evangelical Christians and messianic Jews. Christians who enter the country on tourist visas and engage in proselytization can be procedurally removed from the country.

It is currently much easier for an LGBTQ activist to enter Israel than for an evangelical missionary to enter the country, as Bruce Jenner demonstrated when he received red carpet treatment from Israeli officials during his Pride Month Israeli tour.

Five Home Truths on Israel and the Jews | CultureWatch

Some brief considerations on this contentious and controversial issue:

My main beef is this: The number of people claiming to be Christians and conservatives who incessantly spew their hatred of Jews and Israel is utterly shocking to behold. Their ugly antisemitism is on full display, whether or not they try to cloak it under theological jargon and the like. So I offer five short points about how we might navigate all this:

One. Consider the common traits of the ‘true believers’. What do we find in common with the following groups?

-Angry atheists
-Gung-ho climate alarmists
-Those with ugly Trump Derangement Syndrome
-Those with ugly Israel Derangement Syndrome
-Woke wonders and radical progressives

They all have their minds made up (and/or closed) and will not consider any evidence and facts to the contrary. You cannot easily reason with them, as they tend to run on hate and bitterness, so you can only pray for them in most cases. I have had so many of these folks just unfriend me or block me on the social media – including those who claim to be Christians. One recently even got mad at me when I said I would keep her in prayer. She said she did not want my prayer and she blocked me!

Two. How often do you hear these folks exclaim, ‘We are not Jew-haters; We are not antisemites’?

Um, when they:
-refuse to condemn the satanic assault by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023;
-refuse to recognise that Israel has a right to exist like every other nation;
-refuse to recognise that Israel has a right to defend itself like every other nation;
-refuse to condemn jihadists and Islamist terrorists;
-refuse to ever condemn the actions of all the hostile Arab/Muslim nations surrounding Israel;
-refuse to ever acknowledge that Israel is the only pluralistic, democratic nation in the Middle East;
-refuse to acknowledge ANYTHING good that Israel has ever done;
-blame Israel and Jews for all the evils in the world;
-rehash all the lies and propaganda that have been refuted time and time again;
Then guess what? They ARE Jew-haters, Israelophobes and antisemites.

Three. To see how unhinged all this is, and why it cannot be countenanced, just imagine if people treated you in just the same way they treat Israel and the Jews:

-They forever criticise and find fault with you.
-They refuse to admit that you might have some good points.
-Their continuous demonisation of you simply intensifies hatred of you by others.
-So strong is their animus against you that they are happy to lie about you and bear false witness against you.
-Would you still consider them to be your friends if that is how they always treated you?

When I find so-called Christians and conservatives treating Jews and Israel in this way, I do not consider them to be reasonable, sensible and moral sparring partners, but just haters who have serious issues.

Four. As to theology, eschatology and Scripture:

-One can have differing views on these matters. There are legitimate areas of disagreement when it comes to how we might understand Israel, the Church, and their relationship.
-One can even believe that there is no longer a place for ethnic Israel in the purposes of God and still not hate on Jews and Israel.
-But too often one’s pet theology CAN cover a multitude of sins when it comes to this irrational dislike of Jews and Israel.
-Although the two are related, one can make a completely secular case as to why Israel has a right to exist and defend itself without exploring all the biblical and theological issues.
-That is, one can leave to one side the various eschatological and theological debates, and still come out with a rational and moral case for supporting Israel over against those who are seeking to wipe it out.

Five. A good part of the secular case for standing up for Israel would involve these various factors:

-Israel is a tiny country (the size of New Jersey) consisting of just 22,000 square kilometres, or 8,600 square miles.
-It has a population of just 9.8 million people, of which 7.2 million are Jewish.
-All up there are some 15.7 million Jews living in the world, with most in America and Israel.
-Jews comprise just 0.2 per cent of the global population of 8 billion people.
-Israel is surrounded by 22 Arab League nations, with some 473 million people, and so many of these nations have made it clear that they want to see it wiped off the earth.
-All up there are some 50 Muslim-majority nations in the world, totalling almost 2 billion people.
-There is just one Jewish state.
-The Islamists not only want to destroy Israel, but they want every Jew in the world killed as well. And then they want to go after Christians: “After Saturday comes Sunday”.
-It is completely monstrous and idiotic to claim that Israel cannot exist and defend itself in such a situation.

Needless to say, these brief remarks all need to be buttressed by much more in-depth and detailed explanations. And as I have so often said, tiny little comment boxes in the social media are NOT ideal for dealing with complex and difficult issues that need to be carefully discussed and debated.

That in part is why I have 139 articles in the “Israel and the Middle East” section of my website, and 654 pieces in my “Islam” section. It is there that fuller documentation and argumentation for my views can be found. I don’t expect folks to read them all of course, but if they are even somewhat serious about getting another point of view, they might want to check out some of those articles.

In sum, there have always been serious divides among those in both the conservative camp and the Christian camp. How one views Israel and the Jews is certainly one of those major issues. As noted, one can have differing views about how to think about the Jewish people and the modern state of Israel.

But far too many folks simply make clear their ugly and senseless hatred of both. I for one cannot really claim them as friends. And whether they like it or not, I WILL keep praying for them. One thing we ALL need here – and in other areas – is humility and a teachable spirit.

May we all seek the full measure of those spiritual goods as we think about and discuss these weighty matters and debate these contentious issues.

Shiloh excavators zero in on gate they say could match the Ark-capture scene
The Associates for Biblical Research’s 2025 season is centred on an Iron Age gateway that team leaders claim aligns with the moment, recorded in 1 Samuel 4, when Israel lost the Ark of the Covenant. the structure is “the continuing excavation work at the Shiloh Gate Complex, where the priest and judge Eli died,” explicitly linking the stones to the biblical passage in which a messenger announces that the Philistines have captured the Ark and Eli falls dead at the news.

Is the DOJ Building a Bombshell Conspiracy Case Against Deep State Plot to Stop Trump?
Investigative journalist John Solomon of Just the News has uncovered what he describes as a significant development: the Department of Justice and FBI are reportedly working behind the scenes on a sweeping criminal conspiracy case aimed at exposing a ten-year effort by elements of the so-called “Deep State” to undermine President Donald Trump. Solomon believes the case could bring the kind of accountability that Trump supporters in the MAGA movement have been waiting for. He noted that the case has quietly taken shape behind the scenes, overlooked mainly due to ongoing distractions and internal divisions within the Republican Party.

Houthis now becoming more emboldened after sinking two ships in Red Sea
The Iranian-backed Houthis are emboldened after sinking two ships last week in the Red Sea. They also killed several members of one ship’s crew. Now the question is, why did the Houthis suddenly target these ships, and will they attack more? The fact that so many countries in the region did not assist the ships quickly in order to deter the Houthis shows that it is not a priority.

The Troubling Pattern of Hate and Politics :: By Bill Wilson

There’s a troubling pattern unfolding before our eyes—one that the mainstream media would rather ignore and the political left pretends doesn’t exist.

While Democrats and their allies repeatedly claim the moral high ground, accusing conservatives of promoting hate and extremism, they themselves are quietly (and sometimes boldly) normalizing violence through rhetoric, associations, and a double standard that turns criminals into martyrs—so long as their politics align.

Take the recent Washington, D.C. shooting where two Israeli embassy staffers were gunned down. The suspect, Elias Rodriguez, was connected to radical far-left groups. His father was invited by Democrats as a special guest to a joint session of Congress.

In a disturbing twist, left-wing TikTok personalities openly praised the attack, hailing Rodriguez as a “resistance fighter.” That’s not fringe commentary—it’s the social media echo chamber of the progressive movement celebrating cold-blooded murder. And these aren’t isolated voices. They’re rewarded with views, likes, and shares.

Hate has become a currency of influence. In the case of the Jewish-Christian couple murdered at the Jewish museum, the suspect’s father was US Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García’s (D-IL) guest at Trump’s March speech to Congress—another example of how radicals with deadly ideologies are linked by more than coincidence to the left’s political machinery.

We’re told to look the other way, to avoid “politicizing” tragedy, but it’s fair game to paint all conservatives with the same brush, no matter what the claim.

Breitbart, the Washington Examiner, and the New York Post have all connected dots that legacy media outlets won’t touch. When you stack these stories together, a disturbing trend emerges: the killers are often ideologically tied to far-left narratives—anti-Israel hatred, anti-Christian sentiment, and anti-conservative rage. Their online activity is soaked in rhetoric lifted from progressive influencers and campus radicals.

The language of tolerance is being hijacked to excuse the language and acts of violence.

For years, the left has hurled accusations of hate and violence at conservatives, Christians, and anyone who dared question their cultural dogmas. All the while, they’ve cultivated a movement where people are emboldened to kill in the name of “justice.” When exposed, the silence from the Democrat leadership is deafening.

What we’re witnessing is ideological grooming. A generation is being taught that violence is justified if it’s against the “right” targets—Jews, Christians, conservatives, police, or anyone labeled “oppressors.”

The left decries hate while actively nurturing it in their base. That’s not just dangerous—it’s immoral.

It’s time for Americans—left, right, and center—to reject this madness. If we’re serious about stopping hate, it has to start with truth. Truth about who’s encouraging violence, who’s getting a pass, and who’s being vilified for standing against it.

Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness.”

We are called to be peacemakers, not enablers. Stand for truth. Speak against hate. And don’t let politics blind you to evil hiding in plain sight.
