Job 23:8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: 9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him: 10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

Believers Tested by Trials – Charles Spurgeon Audio Sermons (Job 23:8–10)

Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 January 31, 1892) was a British Reformed Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the “Prince of Preachers.” In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times a week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the New Park Street Chapel in London for 38 years. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon’s which now works globally. He also founded Spurgeon’s College, which was named after him after his death.

Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Arguably, no other author, Christian or otherwise, has more material in print than C.H. Spurgeon.

The order of Salvation: Repentance – Place For Truth

Our English term conversion is not often used in our translations of the Bible. But lest we commit a word-concept fallacy, we should not conclude from this that the concept captured by our term conversion is infrequently found in Scripture. Far from it. Peter in his sermon recorded in Acts 3 expresses the idea of what is meant in Christian theology by the term conversion. There we read that Peter told the men of Israel in v. 19, “Repent therefore, and turn, that your sins may be blotted out.” And again, in verse 26, Peter affirmed that God had sent his Son first to Israel in order that he might bless them “by turning” them from their wickedness. In other words, conversion to the Christian faith and life is about a decisive break from a life of sin, and turning to God so that one faithfully thinks and acts in accordance with God’s word.

Easy enough. Well, there’s actually nothing easy about this, other than perhaps stating it. In point of fact, what we are dealing with in conversion is a supernatural act of the living God whereby he replaces our sinful and stone-hardened heart with a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26). God alone does this, but this does not nullify the human proclamation of the gospel calling people to repentance. It is why the summary of Jesus’ preaching (Mark 1:15), which was also a summary of John the Baptist’s preaching, was: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” The acts of repenting and believing are not envisioned here as once-for-all-time actions that never need repeating. On the contrary, the exact opposite is conveyed. Repenting and believing are ongoing, perpetual activities for the one genuinely converted. Which is another way of saying that one of the ways we can tell whether we or anyone else has truly been converted to the Christian faith and life is whether they demonstrate repentance from sin as a way of life.

Apologetics315 Podcast: Bullies and Saints with John Dickson | Truthbomb

Recently, Dr. John Dickson joined Brain Auten and I on the Apologetics315 Podcast to discuss his book, Bullies and Saints: An Honest Look at the Good and Evil of Christian History.

Dickson provides an insightful, nuanced perspective on some of the most controversial episodes in Christian history, from the Crusades to the Galileo affair. He argues that while Christians have certainly made grave mistakes throughout history, the influence of Christianity has also been profoundly positive, pioneering hospitals, abolitionism, and education.

Dickson is candid about the church’s failures but also highlights inspiring figures like Eligius, Gregory of Nyssa, and the courageous early Christian martyrs. He aims to provide an objective account that combats overly negative portrayals of Christian history while also avoiding Christian triumphalism.

Key topics discussed include Constantine’s role in the Christianization of Rome, myths about the “Dark Ages,” the confident humility of early Christian martyrs, myths surrounding Galileo’s persecution, and more.

Dickson provides illuminating historical context and thoughtful analysis of these complex issues. His book provides a thoughtful corrective to biased accounts on both sides, appealing to secular and religious readers alike.

March 1 Evening Verse of the Day

10 The practical outworking of the confession (v. 9) evidences itself in a profound realization of the kingdom of God on earth. The godly are “those who love the Lord.” They are wise in that they hate anything tainted by evil (cf. 1:1–2). They need not fear the day of the Lord’s appearance, because he will protect from the wicked “his faithful ones” (asîdāyw; see 4:3; cf. 30:4; 86:2), who have shown their “loyalty” to him.[1]

Let those who love the Lord hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked (v. 10). God’s people are called on to show both love and hatred—love for God himself, but hatred towards evil. The description of those who are in a close relationship with God as those who love him is also found concerning Abraham (Isa. 41:8, ‘friend’, Heb. ‘the one who loves me’). Protective care surrounds God’s ‘friends’, and he vindicates and delivers them from those who conspire against himself as well as against them.[2]

97:10 Let those who love the Lord hate evil. Now the suppliant addresses the congregation and admonishes them to “hate evil,” which is a call for a radical change in their personal behavior (cf. Prov. 8:13). Since Zion and Judah’s villages recognize God’s “judgments” (or “laws”), they should hate evil as those laws require. Tate insists, and quite credibly, that the universal aspect of the psalms of the heavenly King “is secondary to their purpose of encouraging and empowering the people of Yahweh.” In the absence of a Davidic king, this community needed to be reassured that a greater King was on the throne.

for he guards the lives of his faithful ones. These are synonymous with “those who love the Lord,” at whose disposal God puts his protective resources and “delivers them from the hand of the wicked” (see 2 Tim. 2:19). The verb “delivers” is a Hebrew imperfect verb and implies that God has done this many times.[3]

10. A rule is here given to judge of real love. If I love Jesus, I shall love his people. If I love him, I love what he loves, and hate what he hates. See an appeal of this kind to the Lord, much in point, Psalm 34:21, 22.[4]

Ver. 10.—Ye that love the Lord, hate evil. The psalmist ends his strain with an exhortation to the faithful—an exhortation, first of all, to “hate evil.” God hates evil (Ps. 45:7); evil will separate them from God, evil will be their destruction. Therefore let them hate and abhor it. It is indifference to evil, that, more than anything else, lays men open to the assaults of Satan. He preserveth the souls of his saints. He (i.e. Jehovah) watches tenderly over the souls of his saints—his holy loving ones, and preserves them in being, keeps them from destruction, and delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.[5]

10. Ye that love Jehovah, hate evil. Those that fear God are here enjoined to practise righteousness, as Paul says, “Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity,” (2 Tim. 2:19.) He shows from the very nature of God, that we cannot be judged and acknowledged to be his servants unless we depart from sin, and practise holiness. God is in himself the fountain of righteousness, and he must necessarily hate all iniquity, unless we could suppose that he should deny himself; and we have fellowship with him only on the terms of separation from unrighteousness. As the persecution of the wicked is apt to provoke us to seek revenge, and unwarrantable methods of escape, the Psalmist guards us against this temptation, by asserting that God is the keeper and protector of his people. If persuaded of being under the Divine guardianship, we will not strive with the wicked, nor retaliate injury upon those who have wronged us, but commit our safety to him who will faithfully defend it. This gracious act of condescension, by which God takes us under his care, should serve as a check to any impatience we might feel in abstaining from what is evil, and preserving the course of integrity under provocation.[6]

10. “Ye that love the Lord, hate evil.” For he hates it, his fire consumes it, his lightnings blast it, his presence shakes it out of its place, and his glory confounds all the lovers of it. We cannot love God without hating that which he hates. We are not only to avoid evil, and to refuse to countenance it, but we must be in arms against it, and bear towards it a hearty indignation. “He preserveth the souls of his saints.” Therefore they need not be afraid of proclaiming war with the party which favours sin. The saints are the safe ones: they have been saved and shall be saved. God keeps those who keep his law. Those who love the Lord shall see his love manifested to them in their preservation from their enemies, and as they keep far from evil so shall evil be kept far from them. “He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.” It is not consistent with the glory of his name to give over to the power of his foes those whom his grace has made his friends. He may leave the bodies of his persecuted saints in the hand of the wicked, but not their souls, these are very dear to him, and he preserves them safe in his bosom. This foretells for the church a season of battling with the powers of darkness, but the Lord will preserve it and bring it forth to the light.[7]

March 3 – The High Cost of a Dedicated Home! | VCY

TODAY’S BIBLE READING CHALLENGE:
  Leviticus 27:14-Numbers 1:54
  Mark 11:1-26
  Psalm 46:1-11
  Proverbs 10:23

Leviticus 27:15 — Some people dedicate their house to the Lord today, and they invite their church family and the pastor over to pray that their new house can be used for the Lord’s glory. That’s an admirable thing to do. Showing hospitality is often mentioned in the Bible (Isaiah 58:7, I Timothy 5:10, Titus 1:8, 1 Peter 4:9), but sanctifying and redeeming your house was a lot more expensive under the Age of Law.

Congratulations on finishing your fourth book of the Bible! Great job and
welcome to Numbers!

Numbers 1:2 — A census! We read about the census in Exodus 30:11-16. We can assume that they paid the census tax. So, as you read this list, it seems rather dull, but what is amazing is the precision to detail!

Mark 11:6 — Often we poke fun at the disciples, but in spite of their failings, sometimes they did obey. And when they did, they saw His plan.

Psalm 46 — There are many great hymns based on this passage, including the Psalter version by Charles Spurgeon’s Metropolitan Tabernacle, London.

Psalm 46:10 — Stop worrying! Be still and know who your God is!

Proverbs 10:23 — Good instruction for young boys who want to cause mischief!

Enemies at Peace | VCY

When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. (Proverbs 16:7)

I must see that my ways please the Lord. Even then I shall have enemies; and, perhaps, all the more certainly because I endeavor to do that which is right. But what a promise this is! The Lord will make the wrath of man to praise Him and abate it so that it shall not distress me.

He can constrain an enemy to desist from harming me, even though he has a mind to do so. This He did with Laban, who pursued Jacob but did not dare to touch him. Or He can subdue the wrath of the enemy and make him friendly, as He did with Esau, who met Jacob in a brotherly manner, though Jacob had dreaded that he would smite him and his family with the sword. The Lord can also convert a furious adversary into a brother in Christ and a fellow worker, as He did with Saul of Tarsus. Oh, that He would do this in every case where a persecuting spirit appears!

Happy is the man whose enemies are made to be to him what the lions were to Daniel in the den, quiet and companionable! When I meet death, who is called the last enemy, I pray that I may be at peace. Only let my great care be to please the Lord in all things. Oh, for faith and holiness; for these are a pleasure unto the Most High!

Blessing Of Your Belovedness | Daily Thoughts about God.

You are your Beloved’s and He is yours.

He called you His beloved from eternity. Your Father was pleased to make you His own (1 Samuel 12:22). The voice of your loving Father resonates in you in a deep place. He is blessing you every day with Himself, nothing less. He is there for you. Your Father wants you to know His deep bonds with you, His deep attachment to you with cords of never-ending love (Jeremiah 31:3).

Hear Him speak to you about trust, faith, and love that is much deeper than the mindset of survival. Listen to Him say,

Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders” (Deuteronomy 33:12).

He is holding you close to Himself. He is whispering to you,

I care for you. I know every detail about you, and wherever you go, I go with you. Wherever you rest, I keep watch. I give you food that will satisfy all your hunger, and I quench all your thirst. I will never hide My face from you. Nothing will ever separate us. Wherever you are, I am.”

Taste deeply of the love, of God, and of truth. Hear Him speak to you about your deepest yearnings, your wishes, your hopes, and your dreams. Know the treasure you are to your Father. You are a chosen one, a special person, noticed in your uniqueness, eternally valued. You are priceless and irreplaceable, safe in His everlasting embrace, at rest in His non-comparing love. Let your Abba protect your emotions, as He surrounds you with the shield of His presence (Psalm 5:12).

Be blessed by your Father who can never leave you or forsake you

Follow Your Hunger | Daily Thoughts about God.

Today too many Christians have lost their hunger for God.

Instead of coming into the Lord’s presence hungry for more of His fullness, our thoughts are held hostage to worldly pursuits and fleshly distractions. At best we are merely curious about spiritual realities, but not truly hungry.

Let me tell you a story that illustrates what I mean. We have a little dog named Sophie. Sophie loves people food. To her, eating people food is the culinary equivalent of entering the Kingdom of God. She loves our food. She even has a Bible verse that she claims in faith, “Even the dogs get the crumbs” (Matthew 15:27).

When my wife and I share a meal, Sophie will sit at our feet, squint her eyes, and stare at us (she thinks squinting makes her cuter). Any food that falls to the floor instantly vanishes into her mouth. No matter how much of her food she has already eaten, she is always hungry for ours.

Our home has a small, fenced-in yard outside our porch where Sophie plays. Although the fence surrounds the area, there are gaps where the pickets don’t quite reach to the ground. If Sophie wanted, she actually could squeeze under the fence and get out, but she normally has no reason to try.

Occasionally she will get curious and go as far as the gate, stand there a while and look out, but she doesn’t leave the yard.

One day, though, my wife decided to feed a few slices of stale bread to the birds that nest on the other side of the fence. When Sophie went out an hour later, she immediately noticed a human food smell in the air, which she tracked to the bread outside the gate. In less than a heartbeat she found a little gap under the picket fence, flattened herself to the ground, and then shimmied beneath the fence to the bread on the other side. It was gone in less than a minute.

My point is this: hunger will take you where mere curiosity would never go.

My friend, God is looking for hungry people. Blessed are those who hunger. He is seeking people who are truly seeking Him. Indeed, He has bread from Heaven for us, and it is eternally satisfying. We cannot afford to settle into the routine of a fenced-in reality, not when God has eternal food prepared for us. Let us, therefore, follow our hunger as we pursue the presence of God.

A Pipeline Of Criminals Into The United States
A relentless crime wave is raging all over America, and you would think that politicians from both major parties would be determined to do whatever they can to make things safer for all of us.  Unfortunately, that isn’t what is happening.  Our politicians have become so soft on crime, and violent criminals are often put right back into the streets even if they manage to get arrested.  So now our streets are absolutely teeming with predators, and conditions are getting worse with each passing year.

THE FOUNDATION

“The great leading objects of the federal government … are to maintain domestic peace, and provide for the common defense.” —Alexander Hamilton (1788)

Fellow Patriots, on this day in 1872, President Ulysses S. Grant signed legislation creating the world’s first national park — Yellowstone National Park. Today, the national park system comprises 62 parks and nearly 400 historic places, monuments, battlefields, preserves, and more. The most visited park by far is Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with more than 13 million people traveling there annually. Most recently, Yellowstone ranks fourth with about 4.5 million visits. —Mark Alexander

Trump & Biden: A Tale of Two Visits

While Donald Trump visited an illegal immigration hot spot, Joe Biden steered clear of the chaos and talked about … climate change.

Douglas Andrews

Newcomers. Newcomers.

That’s the new poll-tested term that Joe Biden is trotting out to describe those who’ve crossed our southern border illegally. We prefer a more descriptive term: illegal immigrants.

That Biden and his fellow Democrats and the Leftmedia long ago abandoned the term “illegal immigrants” in favor of euphemisms such as “undocumented immigrants” and “migrants” and now “newcomers” is telling. The issue of immigration is a loser for them, and now more than ever: A recent NBC News poll has Trump beating Biden by a whopping 35 points on the issue of “securing the border and controlling immigration.”

We’ve been watching polls for a long time, and we don’t recall a spread like that on any issue, much less the leading issue in voters’ minds. That’s right: In this unique campaign, it’s not the economy, stupid.

And that explains a couple of things. It explains why Joe Biden tried to mimic Donald Trump by making a hastily announced trip to the southern border yesterday. And it explains why Trump went to ground zero for the immigration crisis, Eagle Pass, which has seen more than 2,100 border apprehensions in the past five days, while Biden went to the relatively sleepy far-eastern border town of Brownsville, which has seen just 46 apprehensions during that same period.

And, yes, there was Biden yesterday, extolling the virtues of the “comprehensive” border legislation bill that’s hopelessly stuck in the Senate. “It’s real simple, it’s time to act, it is long past time to act,” said Biden. “It’s time for us to move on this, we can’t wait any longer.” Among the bill’s highlights, a White House “fact sheet” says, is “$1.4 billion for cities and states who are providing critical services to [wait for it] newcomers, and would expedite work permits for people who are in the country and qualify.”

Remember, he’s doing this solely to deflect blame to congressional Republicans for the border crisis he created.

Georgia Republican Congressman Andrew Clyde, though, isn’t fooled. As he put it on X yesterday: “INSANITY. A ‘newcomer’ just brutally murdered Laken Riley last week. ‘Newcomers’ are flooding our county with fentanyl. These ‘newcomers’ are costing American taxpayers nearly $500 billion. Joe Biden wants to normalize his intentional illegal invasion.”

But if the language Biden used to describe illegal immigrants was telling, so too was the topic he deemed most worthy of discussion when he visited Brownsville.

“The idea there’s no such thing as climate change. I love that, man,” said President Open Borders. “I love some of my Neanderthal friends who still think there’s no climate change.”

Remarkable, isn’t it? We’re in the midst of a Biden-caused border catastrophe, and this guy is talking about the costliness of climate change.

You want “costly,” Joe? Consider the cost of the nine million (and counting) illegal aliens who’ve streamed across our southern border on your watch. Not only are these people overwhelming our social services systems, but many are also bringing an element of lawlessness with them.

Indeed, Joe Biden won’t even mention the name of Laken Riley, whose blood is all over his hands. Riley, a 22-year-old Augusta University nursing student, was brutally murdered while out for a jog on the University of Georgia campus last week by, it appears, a 26-year-old Venezuelan illegal.

Things aren’t any better for Kelly Girtz, the “progressive” Democrat mayor of Athens, Georgia, home of the University of Georgia, and an effective “sanctuary city” for illegals like that murdering Venezuelan. “I caution against conflating immigration and crime,” said Girtz. “The data demonstrates that the two are not connected.”

But as our Nate Jackson noted yesterday: “That’s a BIG lie for a couple of big reasons. First of all, any alien who crosses the border illegally has committed a crime as his or her first act on American soil. Girtz weaseled around this by not using the word ‘illegal.’ Second, the only reason Girtz can spout such nonsense about data is that there is no real database at any level of government linking crime to immigration status.”

“Immigrants actually commit fewer crimes than native-born people here in this country,” claimed California Congressman Robert Garcia, a Biden stooge. “This immigrant crime narrative is racist. It’s not true.” But how would he know? Garcia and his fellow Democrats don’t want illegal immigrant crime to be catalogued in a national crime database, because they know they bear responsibility for it, and because they fear a righteous backlash from voters. And in any case, we know this much for certain: Were it not for Joe Biden’s open-borders policies, Laken Riley would be alive today. Say her name, Democrats. Say her name.

As for Donald Trump, he was accompanied by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who has resolutely taken border security into his own hands, with Texas refusing to allow Border Patrol agents into a state park near Eagle Pass, where, bizarrely, they might undo the security measures he’s put in place.

In addition to speaking at Eagle Pass yesterday, Trump penned an op-ed in America’s best paper, the UK’s Daily Mail. In it, he wrote:

When Joe Biden came into office, he willfully and deliberately obliterated every strong border policy I put into place, and launched the largest border invasion in American history.

Biden stopped wall construction. He ordered an immediate suspension of removals. He ripped up Remain in Mexico. He terminated my asylum agreements. He ended Title 42. He tied the hands of our ICE and Border Patrol agents behind their backs. He made it known to the entire world that our border was wide open.

Remember: Upon entering office on January 20, 2021, Joe Biden issued the following proclamation: “It shall be the policy of my administration that no more American taxpayer dollars be diverted to construct a border wall.”

And now, for the first time, a majority of Americans — by a 53-46 margin — favor a border wall. Thus, in much the same way that gun-grabbing Barack Obama became our nation’s top firearm salesman, Joe Biden has become its leading border wall pitch man.

Unfortunately, nine million horses have already left the barn.

Despite this, Trump has promised to “leverage every tool, resource, and authority to begin the largest domestic deportation operation in American history,” but he closed by stressing Job One for each of our nation’s 50 states, all of which are now border states: “The first step to border security is voting Biden out of office this November.”

Joe Biden’s Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics

Biden is the grand master of “lying dog-faced pony soldiers.”

Mark Alexander

It was Mark Twain who, in 1907, popularized the assertion, “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.” All three varieties have become rhetorical staples for today’s socialist Democrat Party leaders.

And none are more notorious than Joe Biden, who has become the grand master of “lying dog-faced pony soldiers.” He refined his ability to ply disinformation, what Russian apparatchiks call “dezinformatsiya,” under the wing of his puppeteer, Barack Obama.

Biden has devoted his entire career to perfecting his ability to distort the truth and effectively propagate BIG Lies. The Big Lie was defined by Adolf Hitler in his 1925 autobiography, Mein Kampf, as being so “colossal” that the public would be confident that no national leader “could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.”

Biden’s most fabulous lies of late are his claims to have “created jobs” and “reduced inflation.” Those infamous lies follow a familiar pattern.

In the case of jobs, for the record, Biden created nothing; the private sector creates jobs. But his claim that “we’re building an economy from the bottom up and the middle out by creating more jobs than any Administration in history” was, and remains, an insidious statistical lie. Tens of millions of Americans were forced out of their jobs by COVID shutdowns, as dictated by pandemic policy troll Anthony Fauci. When millions of people return to their jobs, that does not constitute “creating more jobs.”

In the case of inflation, Biden’s unmitigated malfeasance, most notably his so-called American Rescue Plan boondoggle, dropped an inflation bomb on America. That hit middle- and lower-income Americans hard, resulting in the largest decline in real wages in four decades and the biggest rise in food prices since 1979.

Slight declines in the rate of the surging inflation Biden set into motion do not constitute “inflation reduction.”

Of course, there are Biden’s bold-faced border lies, which were evident this week when he showed up for a photo op in Texas. His administration’s big border lie is oft repeated by his spokes-parrot, Karine Jean-Pierre: “The president has done more to secure the border and to deal with this issue of immigration than anybody else.”

Tell that to young Laken Riley, the latest victim of violent crime committed by an illegal immigrant thug. The assailant arrested in her murder last weekend is one of Biden’s border “catch-and-release” illegal immigrants.

In fact, according to the ICE fiscal year 2023 report, agents arrested 73,822 noncitizens with criminal histories. Furthermore, according to ICE, those arrested “had 290,178 associated charges and convictions with an average of four per individual [including] 33,209 assaults; 4,390 sex and sexual assaults; 7,520 weapons offenses; 1,713 charges or convictions for homicide; and 1,655 kidnapping offenses.”

But Biden and his hate-hustling cadres are now insisting that complaining about violent illegal immigrants is “racist.”

What you may have missed this week is Biden’s White House confab to announce he is the greatest crime fighter in history! Biden rolled out this BIG Lie: “Last year, the United States had one of the lowest rates of all violent crime — of all violent crimes in more than 50 years. Murder, rape — murder, rape, aggravated assault, [and] robbery all dropped sharply, along with burglary, property crime, and theft.” For the record, “burglary, property crime, and theft” are not “violent crimes,” so throwing that data in the mix is yet another statistical deception.

This deception follows the same pattern as Biden’s inflation and jobs lies.

He and his Demos deliberately unleashed a record surge in violent crime nationwide just ahead of the 2020 election, advocating for their “Black Lives Matter” rioters and simultaneously promoting their defund police agenda. Then, when the murder rate data dropped by a marginal 1.7% from the dramatic increases in 2021, Biden declares, “Our plan is working.”

Let me reiterate: Joe Biden is the grand master of “lying dog-faced pony soldiers.”

Leftist Bigots Unload on White Rural Voters

With seething contempt, academic and media elites claim millions of Americans are irredeemably racist.

Nate Jackson

Coastal elites can’t stand those of us residing in the American Heartland. We work sometimes tedious jobs and shop at Aldi. We don’t share their taste for social depravity and chardonnay. We love America and appreciate its history, warts and all.

If we’re honest, though, the contempt is mutual, but that’s because coastal elites have been ruining our country for decades, all while hating the very Americans who made it great.

In 2008, it was Barack Obama mocking those who are “bitterly clinging to guns and religion.” In 2016, Hillary Clinton scornfully derided “the basket of deplorables” — supporters of Donald Trump, whom she said are “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it.” Only last fall, Hillary declared that half the country needs “a formal deprogramming.”

Those were only “gaffes” in the sense that the comments revealed what Democrat elites truly think about average Americans. We are the hated commoners to be ruled, not heeded.

Indeed, President Joe “Unity” Biden has spent much of his presidency battling the phantom threat of white supremacy from all the “MAGA extremists.”

Those sentiments are not limited to Democrats. They extend to the propagandists in the Leftmedia and the Marxist indoctrinators in academia.

Several folks from both fields gathered this week to discuss their utter disdain for the racist masses that dominate middle America. Tom Schaller, professor of political science at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and Paul Waldman, a journalist and opinion writer, have written a book to explain this, and it’s exactly what you’d expect from a tome titled White Rural Rage: The Threat to American Democracy.

Democracy, you see, is threatened by … certain people participating in democracy.

Hmm, where have we heard that before?

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski set up the discussion by contrasting the two presidential candidates. On one side, you have Joe Biden, the middle-class son of a used car salesman who went to public school. On the other, you have Donald Trump, born with a silver spoon, educated in private school, and who “became a millionaire at eight years old.” She then asked a question: “Why are white rural voters a threat to democracy at this point? You would think … looking at Joe Biden’s background and Donald Trump’s, that the opposite would be true.”

That opened the floodgates of hate from Schaller:

We lay out the fourfold interconnected threat that white rural voters pose to the country. They are the most racist, xenophobic, anti-immigrant, and anti-gay geodemographic group in the country.

Second, they’re the most conspiracist group. QAnon support and subscribers, election denialism, COVID denialism and scientific skepticism, Obama birtherism.

Third, anti-democratic sentiments. They don’t believe in an independent press, free speech. They’re most likely to say the president should be able to act unilaterally without any checks from Congress or the courts or the bureaucracy. They’re also the most strongly white nationalist and white Christian nationalist.

And fourth, they are most likely to excuse or justify violence as an acceptable alternative to peaceful public discourse.

Sheesh, where to begin?

First, this guy clearly abhors about half the country. Second, his assertions are either patently false, or they project the faults of the Left onto the Right. Leftists are the ones who make everything about race and gender; deny the science of life in the womb, chromosomal DNA, and COVID response; intimidate and censor political opponents; deny, overturn, and rig elections; elect and cheer presidents who ignore the law to do whatever they want while trying to remove an opponent from ballots and perhaps even jail him; and justify or ignore violence when perpetrated by favored victim groups, like blacks or Palestinians.

Leftists also happen to control every major institution in this country — government, media, education, and entertainment. If this country is a racist backwater, why is that?

Here, it might be inconvenient to point out that for decades, white rural voters were the backbone of the Democrat Party, which was the party of slavery and Jim Crow and is now the party of affirmative action and DEI. All race all the time.

We would concede one thing. The political rhetoric in this country has ramped up in vitriolic intensity in recent years, and some of the blame for that lies with Trump and other Republicans.

Yet that concession also only goes so far. We’re no longer disagreeing over how much to spend on government programs, whether we ought to start this or that initiative, or if we have different plans to reach a similar goal. We can’t even agree on what a woman is anymore. Leftists have upended reality itself and called us bigots for objecting because certain truths were true for all of human history. Progress, they tell us. Right side of history.

Is it any wonder that there’s some white rural rage out there? It’s almost entirely justified.

Waldman admitted that there is indeed some justification for the anger, though he argued that, at least in part, it’s due to the “problematic education systems,” “poorer infrastructure,” and “a lack of economic opportunity” in rural areas. “That kind of left them open to someone like Donald Trump, who would come along and tell them something that was true, that there is a system that has not served them well.”

“They’re pissed off,” Brzezinski interjected. Waldman agreed, calling Trump “a conduit for their rage, their anger, their resentment.” Mark Alexander noted this same thing in 2015.

Where Waldman went wrong is asserting that white rural voters like Trump despite the fact that “none of their problems got any better under him.” He hadn’t established utopia, sure, but by 2019 the economy was humming, people could keep more of their money thanks to his tax cuts, and the world wasn’t on proverbial fire. That Joe Biden summarily wrecked all that doesn’t mean Trump hadn’t made tremendous progress.

Ultimately, the bottom line for Waldman, Schaller, Brzezinski, and the rest seems to be that white people are racist because they’re white people. Which is kind of racist, don’t you think?

Executive News Summary

“The big guy” was Hunter’s dad all along, Texas illegal alien law blocked, lawmakers grill absentee Austin, and more.

Douglas Andrews, Thomas Gallatin, & Jordan Candler

Cross-Examination

  • The Big Guy, confirmed: It’s almost a shame that after all these years of denial, Hunter Biden finally admitted that “the big guy” was his dad all along. We say this simply because we’d have loved to hear him, under oath and with a straight face, try to convince us that it was someone else. Hunter confirmed this during his impeachment inquiry deposition on Wednesday. The reference, as the New York Post reports, is to “an email about a business deal with a Chinese state-linked energy firm that yielded millions for Biden family members and other associates, more than three years after The Post broke the story.” All along, the members of the Biden Crime Family have scoffed at the “big guy” suggestion. But now, as the Post continues, Hunter has “admitted that his former business partner James Gilliar was referring to Joe Biden when he raised the prospect on May 13, 2017, of the first son holding a 10% stake in the lucrative joint venture involving CEFC China Energy ‘for the big guy.’” Of course, Hunter also implausibly claimed that if he’d seen the email from Gilliar at the time, “I would have picked up the phone and said, ‘You’re out of your mind.’ … I shut it down, and the evidence of me shutting it down is the actual things you have as evidence.” So the old man is as pure as the driven snow, never having discussed his son’s overseas business dealings with him, not even once, not even when he was patched in via speakerphone during calls with Hunter’s business associates. “My dad calls me,” Hunter said, “like I’m sure a lot of your parents do, or a lot of you do with your children.” Uh-huh.
  • Texas illegal alien law blocked: U.S. District Judge David Ezra blocked Texas’s illegal alien enforcement law, ruling that it infringed on the federal government’s immigration enforcement powers. Passed by the Texas legislature and signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott, SB4 grants state and local law enforcement the authority to arrest illegal aliens in the state over their illegal status. The law further empowers state judges to deport these individuals. The law was immediately contested by both the ACLU and the Biden Justice Department, which have since joined together in their suit alleging that the Texas law is both discriminatory toward minorities and interferes with federal immigration law. Texas justified the law, citing the right of the Lone Star State to protect itself from invasion. In his decision, Ezra rejected that claim, stating: “I haven’t seen, and the state of Texas can’t point me to any type of military invasion in Texas. I don’t see evidence that Texas is at war.” Abbott responded to the ruling, stating that he was not surprised, while also reiterating: “Texas has the constitutional right to defend itself because of President Biden’s ongoing failure to fulfill his duty. We will not back down in our fight to protect Texas.” He further observed, “This case will ultimately be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.”
  • Lawmakers grill absentee Austin: Our erstwhile AWOL secretary of defense, Lloyd Austin, took time out of his busy day yesterday to appear on Capitol Hill before the House Armed Services Committee. His testimony focused on his recent days-long hospitalization for prostate cancer, during which time he never notified his boss or his subordinate. Lucky for Lloyd and the American warriors under his direction, there’s really nothing going on anywhere around the globe in terms of conflict. Still, it’d be nice if this sort of thing didn’t happen again. “It’s important in democracy that public officials are held accountable when mistakes are made,” said committee chairman Mike Rogers. “This administration has gone to great lengths to avoid accountability whenever possible, but this is a matter of national security, and someone needs to be held accountable.” Not even the committee’s ranking Democrat saw fit to bail Austin out. “I agree with much of what the chairman said,” said Washington Democrat Mike Smith. “I think the lack of transparency and clear communication about what was going on with the DOD, certainly with the White House but also with Congress and others, should not be repeated.” Austin seemed to be seeking grace from the committee, but, as Florida Republican Matt Gaetz pointed out, he wasn’t in any mood to extend such courtesy to the 8,600 service members that he vax-mandated out of the military.
  • What recruiting problems? Recently, the Pentagon’s acting undersecretary for personnel and readiness fessed up to the House Armed Services Committee that our military missed its 2023 recruiting goals by 41,000. That’s a lot of warriors, folks. Indeed, it’s the equivalent of around three U.S. Army divisions. Perhaps this is no big deal to the Biden administration and its military brass, or perhaps they’re just too embarrassed to admit that our young people don’t feel like fighting for a woke Department of Defense, a feeble commander-in-chief, and a country that leftists keep telling them isn’t worthy of defending. Nor could it be a net-plus for recruiting when, for example, the U.S. Air Force Academy showcases a transgender-identifying activist at its National Character and Leadership Symposium. None of this has been lost on Army veteran and former Arkansas Senate candidate Jake Bequette, though. “In our education system today,” he said, “so few young people are hearing real history. They’re hearing our American heroes being represented as evil racists … who were doing all these terrible things to disadvantaged people. And that really is shaping the views of America’s youth and making them have less respect for our institutions, have less respect for our history, and therefore making them less liable to want to put their lives potentially on the line to serve in our country’s military.” It’s hard to argue with Bequette, but perhaps a new commander-in-chief will help.
  • NY AG targets U.S. beef industry: Using the bogeyman of climate change, New York Attorney General Letitia James recently raised a lawsuit against America’s largest beef producer, JBS USA. James claims that JBS USA has engaged in a campaign to mislead the public on the impact its industry has on global greenhouse gas emissions. Dubiously asserting that families are suffering under a global climate crisis and are therefore “willing to spend more of their hard-earned money on products from brands that are better for the environment,” James charges that JBS USA is exploiting this by falsely advertising that its product is “healthy for the planet and future generations.” She dubbed this alleged false advertising as “greenwashing.” At issue is JBS USA’s claims that it is seeking to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, which an attorney for the leftist climate activist group Earthjustice says is “misleading.” What this lawsuit really amounts to is a shakedown of America’s agriculture industry that both serves to placate climate change cultists while also getting tens of millions of dollars for special interest and government coffers.
  • Newsom’s minimum wage exemption: Call him Gavin “Crooked” Newsom. That is the charge that Republican lawmakers are raising against California’s Democrat governor after a special exemption was granted for one of his donors from the state’s $20 per hour minimum wage increase. That donor is the Panera Bread franchise, and thanks to a carveout in the FAST Act, the restaurant chain will not be required to raise employee wages above the current $16 per hour. As California Republican Caucus Chairman James Gallagher asked, “Can any franchisee get an exemption from the $20 minimum wage law, or do they need to donate more than $150k to Newsom first?” He added, “This crooked deal needs to be investigated.” California Senate Minority Leader Brian Jones observed: “Panera couldn’t afford Democrat lawmakers’ $20 minimum wage requirement for fast food restaurants. Lucky for them, their franchise owner donated over $160,000 to Governor Newsom, who got them an exemption. Unfortunately, other restaurants lacked such substantial donations and now must comply with the new minimum wage by all means necessary, including layoffs and replacing workers with automation.”
  • Military doc leaker pleads guilty: Airman First Class Jack Teixeira, who made headlines last year when he was charged with using his top-secret security clearance to access classified Pentagon documents from his Air National Guard base in Cape Cod and share them with gamers on the social media platform Discord, has changed his plea to guilty. Teixeira was charged with six counts of illegally retaining and transmitting sensitive national defense information. If tried and found guilty, he would have faced a sentence of 30 years to life in prison. Teixeira was motivated to access and then share the classified documents with “friends” online to impress them. Meanwhile, Joe Biden will not face any repercussions for his leaving classified documents lying around his garage, as he’s too cognitively addled to face a trial.
  • Good news about Mark Green: We get results: Recently, we lamented that Congress is broken, noting that the sorry state of affairs in the Beltway has chased away the kind of talented and Patriotic legislators we can ill afford to lose. One of those citizen-legislators we highlighted was Tennessee’s Mark Green, a West Point graduate, former “Night Stalker” flight surgeon, and House Homeland Security Committee chairman. In announcing that he wouldn’t seek reelection in November, Green said, “I have come to realize our fight is not here within Washington; our fight is with Washington.” But a funny thing happened to Green on his way out of Washington: Green had a change of heart. As the Washington Examiner reports: “Green said he changed his mind after having ‘countless’ conversations with his colleagues and constituents as well as from former President Donald Trump. The decision comes after Green said it was his ‘strong desire’ to leave the House next year, leaving his congressional career at a high point after the historic impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.” To this news, we simply say, “Welcome back, Congressman Green.”

It’s common knowledge that the Democrats want to run on the reversal of Roe v. Wade through the Dobbs decision. The Democrat Party platform demands allowing abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, like only six other nations — three of them communist — on earth.

However, pro-life advocates use logic, science, and truth, and the Left will do anything and everything to suppress information and use semantic games to obscure the facts.

Nothing has illustrated this more clearly than the AP’s recent hit piece on a video called “Baby Olivia” that several states have planned to show kids in sex ed classes. The three-minute video merely shows the scientifically accurate process of fetal development. It is not politically angled one way or another, though the group behind its making is a pro-life organization called Live Action. There were six physicians who oversaw the scientific accuracy of the video. Two are OBGYNs; the others specialize in anatomy, biology, neuroscience, and pediatric development. It has serious medical credentials. This is a fact that even the AP admitted.

One would think that in a sex ed class, showing the development of a baby in the womb is common sense. After all, one of the main purposes of sex is to reproduce.

However, the AP goes on to detail the criticisms of the short video. The two biggest arguments against the video are the use of the phrase “weeks after fertilization” and at what point a fetal heartbeat starts.

Live Action founder Lila Rose defended the use of the phrase “weeks after fertilization” as a more academic, chronologically accurate description of the child’s age in the womb than the generally used dating by the last menstrual cycle.

The AP says that when a fetal heartbeat begins is a hotly debated topic, but instead of going into detail, it simply states as fact, “At six weeks, the embryo isn’t yet a fetus and doesn’t have a heart.” This, however, is not true. As Live Action put it:

The human heart is the first organ to develop, according to multiple doctors — including Dr. Mobeen Syed and pediatric cardiologist Dr. Regina Lantin-Hermoso. Syed explained, “[The] heart is the very first organ that starts developing and it is the first organ that reaches a functional state. Can you imagine that the heart reaches a functional state even before its own development completes? When the heart is in the form of a tube, even then it is pulsating and it is beating and it is pumping blood.”

What the AP, its pro-abortion backers, and others who are trying to keep the “Baby Olivia” video out of sex ed classes are really afraid of is that kids will see clearly that the baby in the womb is a life from conception, that life is precious and worthy of protection, and that calling it a clump of cells is a ridiculous fallacy. They would much rather kids in sex ed classes learn about another scientifically inaccurate idea: that a boy can become a girl and a girl can become a boy.

This is not the first time that “Baby Olivia” has been the subject of attack by the Left. In 2021, when Big Tech was flexing its censorship muscles in earnest, Google banned the video advertisements along with other Live Action ads in an attempt to suppress pro-life information. It did, however, eventually reinstate “Baby Olivia” because it didn’t violate any of Google’s guidelines.

Iowa, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Missouri are still debating bills that would require public school students to learn about fetal development in the womb as part of their curriculum, specifically for sex ed classes (which are typically middle and high school kids). North Dakota already has this law in the books, and “Baby Olivia” is part of the curriculum. These states choosing to show a crucial part of human development is not only educationally beneficial, but it could possibly save tiny lives further down the road — and that is a major plus.

Instagram Is a Cesspool

Some parents are taking to social media platforms to exploit their young daughters for a twisted shot at fame and fortune.

Brian Mark Weber

Before the age of the Internet, mothers paraded their young daughters around in beauty pageants, often dressed provocatively and without knowledge of who might be watching their kids on stage. The vast majority of the time, that was harmless fun.

Today, the ubiquitous power of social media provides even more opportunities for mothers seeking attention and status for their children. But it’s even more dangerous, as platforms such as Instagram provide sexual predators direct access to images of their children.

Increasingly, however, more parents are actually marketing their children for monetary gain through platforms such as Instagram. One mother named Elissa “has been running her daughter’s Instagram account since 2020, when the girl was 11 and too young to have her own,” Jennifer Valentino-DeVries and Michael Keller of The New York Times report. “Photos show a bright, bubbly girl modeling evening dresses, high-end workout gear, and dance leotards. She has more than 100,000 followers, some of them so enthusiastic about her posts that they pay $9.99 a month for more photos.”

The Times adds, “Over the years, Elissa has fielded all kinds of criticism and knows full well that some people think she is exploiting her daughter.”

Some mothers seek financial incentives by selling images of their girls, their children’s clothing, and even chat sessions with their daughters. The Times’s reporting duo examined 5,000 accounts connected to more than 30 million male followers. Some men continue asking for even more revealing images in conversations on messaging apps like Telegram. These images are accessible through subscriptions.

To get a better sense of the depravity, the Times reporters subscribed to several accounts: “On one account,” they reported, “141 subscribers liked a photo only available to those who paid $100 monthly, indicating over $14,000 in subscription revenue. Some of the descriptions also highlight the revealing nature of photos. One account for a child around 14 years old encouraged new sign-ups at the end of last year by branding the days between Christmas and New Year’s as ‘Bikini Week.’”

Making matters even worse, platforms like Instagram don’t seem to have any interest in protecting children, even though they’re fully aware of what’s being peddled under their name.

Jeff Horwitz and Katharine Blunt of The Wall Street Journal report that Meta staff discovered parents who used subscriptions “to sell exclusive content not available to nonpaying followers.” They continue, “The content, often featuring young girls in bikinis and leotards, was sold to an audience that was overwhelmingly male and often overt about sexual interest in the children in comments on posts or when they communicated with the parents, according to people familiar with the investigations, which determined that the payments feature was launched without basic child-safety protections.”

This serious situation could’ve been handled in a variety of ways — if Meta wanted to stop it.

“Meta could have banned subscriptions to accounts that feature child models,” write Horwitz and Blunt, “as rival TikTok and paid-content platforms Patreon and OnlyFans do, those people said. The staffers formally recommended that Meta could require accounts selling subscriptions to child-focused content to register themselves so the company could monitor them.”

At a congressional hearing in January, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was pressured to apologize to families whose children had been exploited — he did so, but only after claiming that his platform seeks to keep families and children safe. Indeed, Meta wants everyone to know what a great job it’s doing of policing this sick stuff: “From August 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, we disabled more than 2.6 million accounts for violating our child sexual exploitation policies,” and “between August 29 and December 31, 2023, we took action on over 2.2 million accounts on Facebook and over 1.4 million accounts on Instagram, as they were linked to accounts that violated our child safety policies.”

But we have reason to be suspicious.

Former Facebook Director of Engineering Arturo Bejar, a Meta whistleblower who testified before Congress last year, stated that efforts by Meta to protect kids didn’t go far enough and were nothing more than a “placebo for press and regulators.”

Political pressure on Meta and other companies seems to be increasing, with studies showing just how serious this problem has become.

While companies like Meta should bear a significant part of the responsibility, parents also need to stop using social media to fulfill some twisted dream of turning their daughters into influencers or, worse, making money from subscribers who are often child predators.

Observations

“An American dousing himself with flammable liquid and then lighting a match is obviously a sign of mental disturbance that ought not be celebrated. No matter the rationale for such a suicide, the situation is a tragedy and a sin. Perhaps the biggest unanswered question here is how the American military allowed someone like [Aaron] Bushnell into the ranks. … Our political environment is facilitating dangerous insanity. It is easy enough for people like Cornel West and Jill Stein to celebrate the pseudo-heroism of disturbed people lighting themselves on fire. But both the mentally disturbed and our society pay the price for such celebration.” —Ben Shapiro

“There is no United States of America — at least as it was designed and as we have known it — without natural law. In place of the internal restraints on antisocial behavior provided by widespread religious belief, the Left instead argues — always — for the growth of government to rein in the chaos created by their own encouragement of license. We need only look at our cities to see what this has wrought. … Ultimately, the war against Christianity and ‘natural law’ is a war against anyone who dares suggest that government is subordinate to anything — including God.” —Laura Hollis

White House Warns FOX News to Stop Covering Biden Corruption | Frontpage Mag

And the media is cheering it on.

Incredible.

I remember when White House Spokesman Ari Fleischer made an off-hand remark about what he thought was Bill Maher praising the Al Qaeda terrorists, suggesting that people should watch what they say, and we have spent years hearing about the Bush administration “terrorizing”, “censoring” and “intimidating” the press.

Bush was compared to Hitler and the incident still continues to be brought up today even as the Biden administration is fighting in court for the “free speech right” to censor political opponents on social media, and now the White House has fired off a letter to FOX News warning it to stop covering Joe Biden’s corruption.

The White House is formally calling on Fox News to walk back its coverage of bribery and corruption allegations against President Joe Biden.

In a letter sent to the right-wing network’s top brass this week, which has not been previously reported, Ian Sams, a top White House spokesperson, noted that the ex-FBI informant who was the source of the bribery claims has now been charged by federal authorities for allegedly fabricating the story.

“Despite this, Fox has taken no steps to retract, correct, or update its reporting on this false allegation from 2023,” Sams said in his letter to Fox News chief executive Suzanne Scott, president Jay Wallace, and Washington bureau chief Bryan Boughton.

Despite media misinformation, Smirnov’s allegations were a late-arriving cherry on the cake in an investigation that involved IRS whistleblowers, business partners of Hunter Biden and extensive information from his own laptops.

Yet forget that for a moment.

Imagine the response if the Bush or Trump administrations had sent such a threatening letter to CBS News.

This isn’t even coming from the Biden campaign, a distinct organization, or any of the numerous leftist groups it has at its command, but from a special assistant to the president, with Anita Dunn cc’ed on it.

And the media is cheering it on.

70 million Christians in India under increasing threat of religious persecution | Denison Forum.

The country of India is centered on a wooden map. Religious persecution in India is rising. By Александра Замулина/stock.adobe.com

More than one hundred Palestinians were killed, with hundreds more injured, after Israeli troops opened fire in a chaotic situation surrounding the disbursement of food in Gaza yesterday. It had grown increasingly unlikely that the ceasefire President Biden hoped to see this weekend was going to happen, but the chances are all but gone in the wake of this war’s latest tragedy.

While details are still emerging, Israeli officials have said the soldiers issued only warning shots and that the casualties were the result of the ensuing panic and looting. Conversely, Dr. Mohammed Salha, the acting director of the Al-Awda Hospital, said that most of the 161 wounded patients that his facility received “appeared to have been shot.”

As with most stories in this war, the truth is difficult to discern and, ultimately, of little consequence to the way nations will respond.

However, the Middle East is not the only place where the truth often falls victim to the narrative nations would prefer to believe.

Why haven’t we heard more about India’s religious persecution?

As countries continue to group into what appears to be an increasingly clear separation between America and its allies on one side, with China, Russia, and those nations more sympathetic to their leadership on the other, India has thrived by maintaining some semblance of neutrality. While they are part of the BRICS group alongside China and Russia and have been among the largest buyers of Russian oil, India has also grown as one of America’s more important partners in the areas of technology and trade.

In the process, they have become a nation that developing countries look to—particularly in the global south—as an alternative model to what’s seen in the West or East.

Perhaps that’s why there has been relative silence from global leaders in the face of a dramatic increase in religious persecution throughout the nation.

India is a “restricted nation”

The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) is an organization that tracks persecution faced by Christians around the world, placing nations that are antagonistic to the faith into one of three categories: area of concern, hostile, or restricted. India recently joined China, Iran, and others as a “restricted nation,” VOM’s most severe classification of persecution.

Among the reasons given were:

  • Policies that forbid the conversion of Hindus in several Indian states. These laws have been used to target pastors, church planters, and evangelists.
  • Reconversion ceremonies—sometimes forced—for Indians who have left the Hindu faith.
  • A growth in extremist groups that seek to “forcibly unite” and “purify” India under Hinduism.

India is roughly 80 percent Hindu, 10 percent Muslim, and 5 percent Christian. With a population of 1.4 billion people, that still amounts to roughly 70 million Christians within the nation’s borders.

So, given the difficulties they face, how have the local Christians reacted to their country’s new designation?

4 matters of concern in India

In a recent article for Christianity Today, Surinder Kaur interviewed six religious freedom advocates, four of whom minister in India, “to learn if this label helps or hinders outsiders in their understanding of the situation in India,” as well as to what degree it impacts the church and Christians in the country. And while their responses varied to a degree, a few themes kept coming back up:

  • The situation is more complex and varied by region than a national designation represents.
  • The government has enabled, though not necessarily sanctioned, many of the most troubling trends over recent years.
  • Due to India’s geopolitical position, the recent designation is unlikely to alter the government’s approach to religious minorities.
  • Because of these factors, they must look to God and one another if they are to find the hope and strength to endure well the suffering they face.

That last point in particular is relevant to Christians far beyond India’s borders.

Our ultimate source of hope

This week we have been exploring ways to find hope in the midst of difficult times. We’ve discussed how to find hope in God rather than ourselves and the impact of truly understanding that his love is not based on our accomplishments or circumstances. We then saw how God’s redemption enables us to find hope in the midst of pain and how our job is to then share that hope with others.

Today I’d like to conclude that discussion with this reminder:

Our ultimate source of hope in this world is the fact that something far better awaits us on the other side of it.

Now, that hope is not intended to devalue the importance of this life or to minimize the trials we face as we navigate it. But it can put those troubles in perspective and give us the strength we need to persevere in spite of them.

The apostle Paul put it this way: “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21).

You see, Paul worked to support himself, invested in relationships with those around him, and genuinely appreciated the opportunities that God brought his way. But none of that became his source of hope, identity, or purpose. Those he kept securely fixed in the life to come.

As a result, God was able to do truly remarkable things through him and help others experience the power and presence of Christ in ways that drew them to the Lord.

The question we have to ask ourselves—and I mean truly wrestle with—is to what degree can we say the same? Are your hopes and dreams more at home in heaven or on earth?

If we want to know the peace of God and learn how to embrace the hope that only he can provide, then we have to remember that such hope is not at home in this world. But, then again, we shouldn’t be either.

Where do you feel most at home today?

Border Patrol Union Chief Goes Off on Biden Over Border Visit Location During News Conference | Gateway Pundit.

Brandon Judd speaking to reporters in Eagle Pass, Texas

Brandon Judd appeared with former President Donald Trump and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Thursday in Eagle Pass, Texas, where the likely Republican presidential nominee sought to contrast his immigration policies with those of current President Joe Biden.

Judd, the president of the National Border Patrol Council, knowingly or otherwise helped Trump do just that.

“Sir, I want you to know: Your agents, my agents, they’re mad as hell, absolutely mad that President Biden went to Brownsville, Texas, rather than going to Arizona, rather than going to San Diego, California, rather than coming to Eagle Pass, Texas, which has been the epicenter,” he said during his brief remarks at the podium.

“What President Trump has seen right here is, he’s seen how his policies have worked. But he’s also seen how he can expand upon those policies once he takes — goes back into the White House. He has seen how Gov. Abbott has been able to use [Trump’s] policies to secure this specific area, the epicenter over the last two years of the illegal border crisis that we have had to endure.”

Judd explained that the agents his union represents have become increasingly frustrated at the polices of the Biden administration that encourage immigrants to enter the country by whatever means possible, legal or otherwise.

“And your agents, president, they are p***ed. Border patrol agents are upset that we cannot get the proper policy that is necessary to protect human life, to protect American citizens, to protect the people that are crossing the border illegally — we want to protect them as well,” Judd said. “And we can’t do that because President Biden’s policies continue to invite people across here.”

Judd then expressed gratitude for Abbott and Trump and their willingness to engage in government service for the benefit of the American people.

“Thank goodness we have a governor like Gov. Abbott,” he said. “Thank goodness we have somebody that’s willing to run for president of the United States, forgo everything else that he’s been doing, to serve the American people.”

You can see Judd’s comments in full below.

Biden and Trump both visited the southern border Thursday, as Judd said, but the location each chose to visit looked very different when it comes to illegal immigration.

Brownsville, Texas, where Biden visited (something some residents weren’t thrilled about), only sees in one week the number of illegals encountered by Border Patrol agents in the Eagle Pass area in one day — if they even see that many.

In fact, in another Fox report on the two presidential visits, the outlet described illegal immigrant activity in Brownsville as “nearly nonexistent,” with only 12 apprehensions recorded on Monday.

By contrast, Eagle Pass may have the most apprehensions of any border location, reporting 511 apprehensions on Monday, or more than 42 times the activity of Brownsville.

Ministries with a 100 Donor Confidence Score – MinistryWatch

There are many ways to evaluate a sports team, a corporation, even a rock band or dance company. Is the most successful organization the one that makes the most money, has a winning record, does the most good for the community, produces a high quality product, or achieves artistic excellence? And even if you could decide which measurements mattered, it is not always easy to quantify the results.

Christian ministries are the same way. How do you evaluate excellence?

Here at MinistryWatch, we have been asking ourselves this question for a long time – for more than two decades. We still don’t know all the answers, but we do know some of the right questions to ask.

That’s what the Donor Confidence Score is all about:  asking some of the right questions.

We have identified 20 questions we think donors should ask ministries. We have asked these questions of the ministries in the MinistryWatch 1000 database, and we have given each ministry a score from 0 to 100. If a ministry scores more than 65, we believe it is possible to “Give With Confidence” to this ministry. If a ministry scores from 40 to 64, we recommend that you “Give With Caution.” For these ministries, we recommend that you do a bit of additional research to make sure that you are comfortable with these ministries before you give. If the ministry scores less than 40, we recommend that you “Withhold Giving” from this ministry.

We have posted the answers to these questions on the profile of the ministry in our MinistryWatch 1000 database. (We currently have 1100 ministries rated.)

Below, we have compiled a list of ministries with a perfect 100 score in our rating system.  As you will see, this list has less than 100 ministries on it – less than 10 percent of the total number of ministries in our database. These are all ministries to which you can “give with confidence.”

It’s important to note that this list is dynamic and could – indeed, likely will – change over time.  This list is accurate as of March 1, 2024, you should look at the page for an individual ministry to find the “latest and greatest” information about the ministry that interests you.  You can find the ministry you’re looking for by clicking here.

Ballot Drop Boxes Installed Along Border Wall |Babylon Bee

Article Image

BROWNSVILLE, TX — Texas residents woke up Thursday morning to find general election ballot boxes had been placed along the southern border wall that divides parts of the U.S. from Mexico.

“I’m not sure where these ballot drop boxes came from,” Brownsville resident Tom Walker told reporters. “Some around town think it has something to do with Presiden Biden’s visit to the border. I saw some of his folks down handing out mail-in ballots to these illegal guys who keep coming into town. Makes a person wonder what’s up.”

Biden’s team denied placing the boxes strategically along the border wall right where the main surge of illegal immigrants are crossing into the country.

“This isn’t some crazy ploy to rig the election in favor of President Biden by handing out ballots to the millions of illegal aliens that have been streaming into the country over the past three years,” Biden spokesperson Alexander Sheperd told the press. “On a completely unrelated note, does anyone know how to say ‘President Biden will give you a prepaid $10 thousand Visa cash card if you vote for him’ in Spanish?”

As of publishing time, Biden aids were seen rounding up as many filled-out ballots as they could in an effort they said would “restore fair and free elections and prevent that fascist Trump from taking office ever again.”

WATCH: “Hunter Biden is a Liar!” – Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Rips Into Hunter Biden’s Attempts to Cry About His Addiction and Lie About His Family Business Dealings in Closed-Door House Deposition | The Gateway Pundit.

Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene on Wednesday tore into Hunter Biden for crying victim as he lied about his overseas business dealings, selling the Biden family name, in a closed-door deposition before the United States House of Representatives.

“The theme that we heard in the room was Hunter Biden’s a liar. The Biden family has no product and no service, and Hunter Biden can’t hide behind his addiction,” Greene told reporters.

“Hunter Biden is a liar, and while Hunter Biden claims that the only person that has evidence of a bribe is being locked up in LA, everyone needs to remember that his father is also President of the United States and is also head of the regime that is conducting the prosecution and witch hunt against all of his political opponents,” she continued.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Alexander Smirnov, the FBI’s Confidential Human Source who blew the whistle on the Biden-Burisma bribery scheme, is currently sitting behind bars pending trial, as he is accused of lying about the Biden family’s business ties.

The message here: don’t stand up to the Regime.

Hunter testified before the House Oversight and Judiciary committees. Republicans have investigated numerous bank statements that place President Biden’s second son and crack addict at the very center of their impeachment inquiry. Congress alleges Hunter and his father engineered an elaborate web of lucrative, overseas business ventures that leaned heavily on Joe Biden’s international influence. Joe Biden, his brothers, his son, and family members have benefited financially from those shady arrangements.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) alleges that just one Suspicious Activity Report (SARS) on the Biden family’s finances that she reviewed at the Treasury Department earlier this year involved “tens of millions of dollars and then some.”

Hunter Biden on Wednesday arrived on Capitol Hill yesterday for his closed-door deposition before Congress in part of the Republican impeachment process against Joe Biden.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Hunter lashed out at Republicans during his deposition, claiming, “I did not involve my father in my business.”

Hunter Biden Opening Statement: “I Did Not Involve My Father in My Businesses” – Lashes Out at House Republicans

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/02/hunter-biden-opening-statement-i-did-not-involve/embed/#?secret=BAKkNQKA4w#?secret=cFVGghvAXZ

Democrats are already with their talking points.

The Gateway Pundit reported that Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) accused Republican leaders of “working with Russia to interfere in the November 2024 election on behalf of Vladimir Putin.”

However, Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene came out swinging at Hunter Biden’s lies and the Biden Regime’s persecution of political opponents while inviting Hunter Biden to answer questions in a public hearing.

Rep. MTG commented on X,

While Hunter Biden hides behind claims of addiction, the evidence is clear – he cashed in on his father’s name to make millions in Ukraine and China.

Joe Biden has serious questions to answer about his family’s pay-to-play schemes.

Watch below:

Greene: So impressive to listen to Hunter Biden either give excuses about being a drug addict and how difficult it is to go through years of addiction, and then swing the next minute to his extreme expertise and business experience that placed him on so many boards and allowed him to teach at Georgetown University. You see, the theme that we heard in the room was Hunter Biden is a liar. The Biden family has no product and no service, and Hunter Biden can’t hide behind his addiction, which is heartbreaking. Many Americans suffer with addictions, but many Americans—actually, I would say all Americans except Hunter Biden that suffer from drug addiction and alcohol addiction would never be placed on boards of companies like Burisma and would never be teaching at Georgetown unless their last name was Biden.

And that’s what we heard in the room there today. There’s also an interesting theme there. Hunter Biden is a liar, and while Hunter Biden claims that the only person that has evidence of a bribe is being locked up in LA, everyone needs to remember that his father is also President of the United States and is also head of the regime that is conducting the prosecution and witch hunt against all of his political opponents. So, we had a very long deposition with Hunter today, presented a lot of evidence, and we look forward to him coming to a public hearing, which I would hope that he is willing and courageous to show up to after today’s private deposition.
