There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true. —Soren Kierkegaard. "…truth is true even if nobody believes it, and falsehood is false even if everybody believes it. That is why truth does not yield to opinion, fashion, numbers, office, or sincerity–it is simply true and that is the end of it" – Os Guinness, Time for Truth, pg.39. “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” – Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
The Pope, who claims to speak for God, is a believer (from LEFTIST propaganda) in man-caused climate change and if you don’t believe in it, then you are stupid. There is NO compelling evidence that mankind can do anything about the climate.

2 Samuel 7:13 — If the throne is forever, who is seated on the throne right now? From Jimmy DeYoung:
The promise of a house (Temple), Kingdom and throne for a descendant of King David from the Lord is known as the Davidic Covenant. This is a promise that will only fail if the day and the night are no longer in existence, Jeremiah 33:19-21.
For almost 6,000 years, we have had a night followed by a day – God’s promise to David is as true as the next moonlit night or majestic sunrise. The Davidic Covenant will be fulfilled by that member of the linage of King David, the person of Jesus Christ.
The complete fulfillment of the Davidic Covenant is yet future. It will be fulfilled when Jesus Christ returns to the Earth, to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem to set up His Kingdom by building His Temple on the Temple Mount (Zechariah 6:12-13) in Jerusalem.
2 Samuel 7:18, 22 — David maintains the right perspective. Personal humility – “Who am I … thy servant.” Praise for the LORD “thou art great … there is none like thee.”
Houghed, i.e., hamstrung, to render them incapable of use in war. (Comp. Joshua 11:6; Joshua 11:9.) This is meant to apply not only to the chariot horses, but to all those of the cavalry. Whether David’s reservation of the number needed for 100 chariots was wrong or not, is not said. David probably felt the need of these horses as a means of more rapid communication with the distant parts of his increasing empire; yet this act may have been the entering wedge for Solomon’s direct violation of Deuteronomy 17:16, by sending to Egypt to “multiply horses to himself.”
John 14:15 — This sounds like a theme of the Bible we have here in the Upper Room Discourse.
Psalm 119:33 — How can we obey? If the LORD teaches us, gives us understanding (Psalm 119:34), makes us follow the path (Psalm 119:35), inclines our heart (Psalm 119:36), turns our eyes (Psalm 119:37), quickens us in the way (Psalm 119:37), stablishes the word (Psalm 119:38), and keeps us from reproach (Psalm 119:39), we can obey.
Psalm 119:40 — Do we have any responsibility? Yes! We must long for the Law (Psalm 119:40), trust in the Word (Psalm 119:42), hope in the judgments (Psalm 119:43), keep the Law continually (Psalm 119:44), seek His precepts (Psalm 119:45), speak of His testimonies (Psalm 119:46), delight in the commandments (Psalm 119:47), and meditate on His statutes (Psalm 119:48)!
Proverbs 15:33 — Solomon saw this proverb demonstrated in David’s life, as we read about today. Humility brings honor.

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished. (2 Peter 2:9)
The godly are tempted and tried. That is not true faith which is never put to the test. But the godly are delivered out of their trials, and that not by chance, nor by secondary agencies, but by the Lord Himself. He personally undertakes the office of delivering those who trust Him. God loves the godly or godlike, and He makes a point of knowing where they are and how they fare.
Sometimes their way seems to be a labyrinth, and they cannot imagine how they are to escape from threatening danger. What they do not know, their Lord knows. He knows whom to deliver, and when to deliver, and how to deliver. He delivers in the way which is most beneficial to the godly, most crushing to the tempter, and most glorifying to Himself. We may leave the “how” with the Lord and be content to rejoice in the fact that He will, in some way or other, bring His own people through all the dangers, trials, and temptations for this mortal life to His own right hand in glory.
This day it is not for me to pry into my Lord’s secrets but patiently to wait His time, knowing this, that though I know nothing, my heavenly Father knows.

We also believe that Christian Worship is to be regulated and defined by God’s Word, the Bible.
Our worship services are designed to please and honor the Triune God of the Bible. We place Scripture reading and the preaching of the word of God at the center of worship along with Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. These are God’s gifts to His church and ought to always be at the center of Christian worship. We are a congregation that loves to sing God’s praises, recite His Word back to Him, and actively engage in hearing and learning from God’s Word.
We embrace and promote a comprehensive Christian world and life view.
There is no area of life which is not under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It is to God and His law which all people, including governments and civil rulers, will answer. The Word of God embraces and informs the way we view marriage, the family, children, education, politics, worship, law, government, war, the church, missions, evangelism, and worship. In the world today there is a battle of opposing worldviews. There are basically only two positions: God’s Word and man’s ideas. We stand positively for Biblical truth and negatively against man’s ideas which are opposed to Biblical truth.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only hope for mankind.
Because all men fall short of obeying God’s law, all men everywhere are in need of divine grace and salvation from God. This salvation is found only in the Lord Jesus Christ who died for sinners, was buried, rose again, and is alive today seated at God the Father’s right hand.
We Worship God Together as Families.
We offer nursery during the morning worship service for newborns and infants but encourage people to keep as many of their children as they can with them for morning worship. The audio of the service is in the nursery via speakers. There is also a crying room with a video screen and audio of the sermon. We offer Sunday school classes for all ages, but worship together as families. We do not offer “children’s” church.
All who profess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and are members of an evangelical church are cordially invited to participate with us in the Lord’s Supper.

And yet the headline reads, “Half of Americans oppose immigrant detention camps.”
That may be true, but it’s not news. Americans are a compassionate lot, and even as their country is being wrecked by Joe Biden’s open borders and an Ohio’s worth of illegal immigrants streaming across our border, the thought of holding these people in detention camps doesn’t sit well with most folks. But, again, that’s not news.
Not until the very end of the second paragraph, in fact, do we get to the real news: “Some 54% of registered voters opposed the use of detention camps while 36% supported such a move and 10% said they did not know or did not respond, the poll found. Still [and here’s the news], 56% said most or all immigrants in the U.S. illegally should be deported.”
Wow. Why were the activists at Reuters so reluctant to share this finding? Perhaps it disappointed them too deeply.
Drilling down into these numbers, we find that some 85% of Republican voters believe most or all of these 10 million illegals should be deported. Meanwhile, only 26% of Democrats — the party whose adherents want to make the country browner in the belief that Hispanics will ultimately reward them with a permanent voting majority — favor mass deportation. This sounds like something of a Mexican standoff, but 61% of independents also favor mass deportation, so if he wins, Donald Trump would have a serious mandate for just the sort of massive deportation program he’s been promising.
How many illegals are we talking about? Some 10 million have come across on Biden’s sleepy watch, but the total number of illegals here now is easily double and perhaps triple that. In any case, the American people have come a long way since 2016, when they elected Trump despite a majority of Americans disfavoring a border wall.
How might a mass deportation program be enacted? Reuters continues:
In an interview with Time Magazine published in April, Trump said he would consider using camps but that “there wouldn’t be that much of a need for them” because people would be rapidly deported.
Tom Homan, a former Trump immigration official who could join a second administration, said tents would be needed as more immigrants in the U.S. illegally are arrested and held for deportation, exceeding existing detention space.
Clearly, the devil will be in the details, but the will, at least, is there.
Florida Senator Marco Rubio, himself the son of legal immigrants from Cuba, is emblematic of the nation’s changing views on illegal immigration. Rubio had previously worked on the notorious Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration reform proposal that provided a path to citizenship for illegals. He once said that Trump’s deportation plan wasn’t workable. Yet he’s since reconsidered. “Yes,” he said during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday, when host Kristen Welker asked him whether he supports Trump’s plan to use the military to deport illegals. “We cannot absorb 25, 30 million people who entered this country illegally,” he added. “They’re here illegally. What country on earth could tolerate that?”
Indeed, no country can tolerate it, at least not in these numbers. (Incidentally, Rubio was also asked by Welker whether he’d accept the results of the 2024 presidential election “no matter what,” but he wouldn’t play along. “No matter what happens? No! If it’s an unfair election, I think it’s going to be contested by each side.” When Welker tried again, Rubio walloped her: “You’re asking the wrong person. The Democrats are the ones that have opposed every Republican victory since 2000. Every single one.”)
January 20, 2021, seems like a long time ago, but we remember certain parts of Biden’s inaugural address like he uttered them yesterday.
“Unity, unity,” he preached. “Today, on this January day, my whole soul is in this: Bringing America together. Uniting our people. And uniting our nation.” It sounds laughable now, doesn’t it? And yet he has united us in one important respect: He’s united us against his presidency, which will take its place alongside James Buchanan’s as the worst in American history.
But there are two other ways in which Joe Biden has united us: in favor of a border wall, and in favor of mass deportation of illegals.
Donald Trump ran on the former in 2016, only to be largely foiled by an intransigent Congress. This year, he’s running on the latter, and, should he win, we expect him to pursue that promise doggedly.

Wastrel son updates: Hunter Biden may end up being the noose that hangs around his father’s reelection bid. Hunter’s federal tax evasion trial date was moved back on Wednesday to now begin on September 5. This means that Joe Biden and Donald Trump’s second scheduled debate will take place in the midst of Hunter’s trial. It has also come to light, thanks to IRS whistleblower Gary Shapely, that back in 2021, the CIA intervened on Hunter’s behalf when it blocked the IRS from contacting and interviewing Hunter’s benefactor in its tax fraud investigation. Meanwhile, Hunter’s other trial over his gun-related offense is scheduled to begin on June 3. Of import in this trial is Hunter’s infamous laptop, which he falsely testified before Congress contained reports that had been “fabricated, hacked, stolen, or manipulated 100%.” Hunter’s attorney tried to get the laptop barred from use as evidence over these claims, but the judge rejected the objection, so Hunter’s laptop will be admitted as evidence in the trial.
Team Biden makes NINE corrections to Big Guy’s NAACP speech: Sure, everyone makes mistakes, but how hard is it to read a dang teleprompter? That’s the question journalists and their fellow Democrats should be asking Team Biden as word trickled out that they quietly made nine after-the-fact transcript corrections to the president’s NAACP speech on Monday because he made so many gaffes. Here’s a sample from early in his remarks: “When I was vice president, things were kind of bad during the pandemic. And, what happened was, Barack said to me, ‘Go to Detroit, help fix it.’” Huh? Barack told him to fix the pandemic even though he’d been out of office for four years before it hit? Just two sentences later, he told the audience he was “humbled to receive this organization.” That’s “award,” Joe, award. Later on, when Biden was trying to unite the country by harkening back to January 6, 2021, he said of Donald Trump, “Just listen to him. He calls the erectionists who stormed Capitol Hill ‘patriots.’” (In fairness to Biden’s handlers, they tried to spell that hilarious malapropism as “irrectionists,” but we aren’t buying it.)
The Knights of Columbus sue Biden admin alleging religious discrimination: For more than 60 years, the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal organization of service and charity, has held its Memorial Day Mass at the Poplar Grove National Cemetery, there to honor those fallen warriors who gave their last full measure of devotion. But not last year. And not this year, either, if that “devout” Catholic president of ours gets his way. Once again, the Biden administration denied the Knights a permit, but this time, the K of C is fighting back with a religious discrimination lawsuit. According to the K of C’s legal counsel, “The policy and the decision blocking the Knights of Columbus from continuing their long-standing religious tradition is a blatant violation of the First Amendment and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA). We urge the court to grant our restraining order and allow the Knights to hold their service this Memorial Day.”
Uvalde lawsuit/settlement: The city of Uvalde, Texas, has agreed to a $2 million settlement with the families of the 19 students who were massacred by an 18-year-old who attacked Robb Elementary School nearly two years ago. Parents sued the city over the failure of the Uvalde police to act quickly and stop the perpetrator as he was carrying out his murder spree. The responding officers waited for more than 77 minutes before finally engaging and killing the armed assailant. A Justice Department investigation into the Uvalde Police Department’s response found that officers “demonstrated no urgency” in dealing with the unfolding situation. One of the parents, Veronica Luevanos, who lost a daughter that day, stated, “For two long years, we have languished in pain and without any accountability from the law enforcement agencies and officers who allowed our families to be destroyed that day. This settlement reflects a first good faith effort, particularly by the City of Uvalde, to begin rebuilding trust in the systems that failed to protect us.” However, Luevanos added, “Nearly 100 officers from the Texas Department of Public Safety have yet to face a shred of accountability for cowering in fear while my daughter and nephew bled to death in their classroom.” The parents have launched a separate lawsuit against the state that targets 92 officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Uvalde School District, the school’s former principal, and Uvalde’s former police chief.
Illinois plays word games with criminals: Illinois Democrats passed legislation for the state’s Department of Corrections that includes changing the term “offender” to “justice-impacted individual.” State Republicans objected over the cost to taxpayers for the name change — it costs thousands of dollars for agencies to change their documents to reflect the new terminology — but, more importantly, they noted the effect that blurring or watering down terminology has on criminal activity. “There seems to be this rush to take away all accountability for people who commit crimes,” argued Republican State Senator Steve McClure. “If a person is going to get on the right path, they have to know they did something wrong. This apologizing for the criminal, the person who chooses to commit crimes to the detriment of our victims, the people who don’t choose to be victims of crimes, is absolutely incredible.” Democrats defended the name change, arguing that it was technically correct. One wonders if Democrats will eventually change the term “victim” to “injustice-impacted individual.” Democrat Governor J.B. Pritzker has yet to sign the legislation.
Kill Jews, get a state: Crime pays. Especially kidnapping, rape, and genocidal murder. That’s the clear message being sent by Ireland, Norway, and Spain, whose governments yesterday recognized a “Palestinian state” and thereby lent aid and comfort to the terrorists of Hamas. The Associated Press called it “a historic but largely symbolic move that further deepens Israel’s isolation more than seven months into its grinding war against Hamas in Gaza.” Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store faithfully trotted out the old platitudes: “In the midst of a war, with tens of thousands killed and injured, we must keep alive the only alternative that offers a political solution for Israelis and Palestinians alike: two states, living side by side, in peace and security.” Hamas, unfortunately, has never gotten the “peace and security” memo, nor have the Palestinian people, whom polls show overwhelmingly support their Jew-hating government. All this comes amid the release yesterday of a sickening video showing captured female Israeli soldiers, handcuffed and pressed against a wall, while their Hamas captors can be heard “gloating and announcing their apparent plans to sexually assault the soldiers,” reports the New York Post. But, sure, let’s give these animals a state right next to Israel.
Biden admin secretly agreed with Iran against Israel: Joe Biden’s senior Middle East advisor, Brett McGurk, reportedly was in secret talks with Iran’s main negotiator to the West, Ali Bagheri Kani. The meeting took place in Muscat, Oman. This was the first meeting between the U.S. and Iran since January. The secret talks reportedly focused on three issues — “a shared desire for a change in government in Israel; ending Israel’s war on Gaza; and preventing the conflict from spreading elsewhere in the region.” Progress was said to have been made up until the sudden death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash. If this report is accurate, then Biden is actively seeking to undermine America’s closest ally in the Middle East with our and Israel’s biggest enemy in the region. This is the stuff that starts wars, not ends them. Is it any wonder that Biden’s foreign policy record has been a disaster?
Obama blocked FBI from arresting Iranians connected to nuke program: We’ve often maintained that this first-and-only term of Joe Biden’s presidency is, in fact, Barack Obama’s third term, such is the Obama-like ruin that Biden is causing the country. Clear evidence of this can be seen in both administrations’ kowtowing to the Iranian mullahs, more of which came to light from recent whistleblower disclosures. As Fox News reports, “The Obama-Biden State Department ‘actively interfered’ to prevent the FBI from executing arrest warrants on individuals illegally in the United States who were allegedly supporting Iranian financial efforts to develop weapons of mass destruction, whistleblowers told Sens. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson.” According to a letter sent from Grassley and Johnson to “The Honorable” [sic] Antony Blinken, “The Obama/Biden administration’s State Department, under the leadership of John Kerry, actively and persistently interfered with FBI operations pertaining to lawful arrests of known terrorists, members of Iranian proliferation networks, and other criminals providing material support for Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.” And all this took place while Obama was vowing publicly that “broader sanctions” against the rogue Iranian regime “would remain in place,” and that the administration would continue to enforce those sanctions “vigorously.”

One of the great things about our job at The Patriot Post is that we’re not here to generate click-bait or gin up outrage over everything. When it comes to the coronavirus pandemic, that’s a good thing because that was so, like, four years ago, and it’s hard to stay mad that long or even just to keep caring.
Yet we are here to analyze the news, and sometimes the news is outrageous revelations about things that happened four years ago (okay, three years ago, but stick with me).
Thanks to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, we’ve learned that a top adviser at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) tried to help cover up the origins of COVID by using a personal email address and deleting records on his official account.
Hillary Clinton, call your office.
Dr. David Morens didn’t use BleachBit to delete his emails or wipe his server “with a cloth or something,” but he did make a confession via a revealed email. “[I] learned from our foia [sic] lady here how to make emails disappear after I am foia’d [sic] but before the search starts,” Morens wrote in an email dated February 24, 2021. “Plus I deleted most of those earlier emails after sending them to gmail [sic].”
He wasn’t done. On April 21, 2021, he said, “There is no worry about FOIAs. I can either send stuff to Tony [Fauci] on his private gmail [sic], or hand it to him at work or at his house. He is too smart to let colleagues send him stuff that could cause trouble.”
The NIH Office of the General Counsel, on May 28, 2021, told the NIH FOIA office to “not release anything having to do with EcoHealth Alliance/WIV.” WIV is the abbreviation for the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where COVID was almost certainly born and released, partly with gain-of-function research that received funding from NIH via EcoHealth Alliance.
Morens called people who believed there was a lab leak “nutters.”
On June 16, 2021, Morens wrote, “We are all smart enough to know to never have smoking guns, and if we did we wouldn’t put them in emails and if we found them we’d delete them.”
Morens admonished colleagues in an email dated November 18, 2021, “I ask you both that NOTHING gets sent to me except to my gmail [sic].”
There are other email revelations, but you get the idea. Morens, Fauci, and the rest didn’t want the public to learn the truth about COVID’s origins — or especially their role in funding it.
“The information contained in these 30,000 pages of emails are deeply concerning,” said Subcommittee Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-OH), “and in my opinion, reflects poorly upon Dr. Morens and the Office of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease under Dr. Fauci’s leadership and the NIH under Dr. Francis Collins.” He added, “Dr. Fauci’s NIAID was unfortunately less pristine than so many, including the media, would have had us all believe.”
That’s putting it mildly.
Rather than belabor any points, I’ll make a few simple observations about Morens and his emails.
The official death toll of COVID in the U.S. was over 1.2 million. Make of that number what you will, but don’t forget to add all of the excess deaths for other reasons — suicide, overdoses, etc. There was also the vast economic, educational, and political damage done by lockdowns and mandates with little or no scientific justification, as both Collins and Fauci have admitted. The Morens emails add to the stack of evidence that the nation’s highest public health officials — the ones we were supposed to trust for guidance and leadership — were more concerned with hiding things and deceiving the public to protect their own careers than they were with public health or the hijacked careers and lives of millions.
Bureaucratic malfeasance is the baseline, the norm, and it has been since the academic-minded Woodrow Wilson arrogantly worked to change our Republic into an administrative state ruled by highly educated “experts.” Today’s Democrats demand that we commoners submit to the wisdom of these career bureaucrats, who run amok with their power only to then cover up their damaging actions and behavior.
They get away with it, too. The Clintons made standard among Democrats the practice of dragging out allegations for a long time and then deriding any revelations as “old news.” The Morens emails were three whole years ago, they might say, implying no one cares anymore.
To that last point, Representative Rich McCormick (R-GA) said, “What we’ve found is basically a cover-up of immense proportions where people were avoiding FOIA inquiries. There’s gonna be hell to pay when we actually get to the bottom of this, and I think we’re getting close.”
You gotta love his sentiment, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
Thanks to high inflation and Joe Biden’s regulatory onslaught, auto insurance premiums have jumped by upwards of 25%.
Thomas Gallatin
Does anyone really like insurance? To many, insurance is right up there with the unavoidable evils of death and taxes. However, unlike that terrible twosome, insurance is supposed to benefit you.
Insurance, though, has become more of a liability than an asset. Increasingly, folks may be asking how this is actually saving them money. After all, isn’t that the reason for insurance?
While much ink has been spilled over the astronomical rise in the cost of health insurance, especially since — or rather because of — ObamaCare, health insurance isn’t the only type whose costs are soaring.
Take auto insurance. Even good drivers are seeing their premiums rise by 20-25% on average across the first few months of this year. The question is, why? And the easy answer is just two words: Joe Biden. Indeed, the rising cost of nearly everything over the last three years can be tied directly or indirectly to the Biden administration.
Rising auto insurance rates are due to years of high inflation and what the National Association of Manufacturers calls a “regulatory onslaught.”
Steven Malanga of City Journal observes: “Nearly two-thirds of industrial firms recently said that Biden administration rules already enacted and new ones being promulgated raise costs significantly. Industrial firms, which use nearly one-third of the energy America produces, have been pummeled by high energy costs, likely to keep rising due to new administration limits on drilling. At the same time, the White House and Congress failed to address the expiration of favorable tax treatment of research costs and interest-expense deductions in the Trump 2017 tax cut package, prompting many firms to pull back on new business investments. Meantime, automakers and parts suppliers complain about a ‘regulation mess’ created by overlapping federal and local bureaucratic agencies, whose rules affecting cars have sent production costs skyrocketing.”
Another interesting factor here is the rise in drunk driving deaths since 2020. This increase coincides with a decrease in DUI arrests. Why the discrepancy? Well, thanks to the “defund the police” movement that swept the nation following the death of George Floyd, police have pulled back on law enforcement actions, especially when it comes to traffic enforcement. With drunk driving accidents on the rise, auto insurance companies are having to shell out more funds.
Meanwhile, on top of rising premiums, auto insurance companies are collecting data on drivers, often via the automakers themselves. While insurance companies advertise programs that track one’s driving under the guise of providing a more personalized policy plan based on safe vehicle operation, this is a double-edged sword. Why? Because the data might instead be used to justify a rate increase.
The insurance companies will not lose. All cost increases will be funneled down to the consumer, and the choice will end up being to drive or not to drive.
No one is safe in the new technological frontier known as Artificial Intelligence. Just ask Scarlett Johansson.
Emmy Griffin
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been the subject of concern for creatives. It can take a person’s voice, it can use a person’s likeness, it can write a novel based on other novels, and it can even take over the jobs of real reporters for a famous sports magazine.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is the latest person in the doghouse for one of the new voice additions to the ChatGPT chatbot. OpenAI released five new voices — Breeze, Cove, Ember, Juniper, and Sky — as part of a demonstration for the next generation of ChatGPT. The voice option dubbed “Sky” prompted actress Scarlett Johansson to seek legal counsel. Why? Because the voice sounded enough like her own to fool her family and friends.
Johansson had been approached by Altman back in the fall hoping that she would agree to provide her voice for the new AI chatbot. He told the actress that it would be “comforting” to hear her voice because people already identified it with AI due to her role in the 2013 movie “Her.” Johansson declined the offer and heard nothing more from Altman and OpenAI until a few days before the ChatGPT demo of “Sky,” when they asked her to reconsider.
As she herself said in a statement, “Before we could connect, the system was out there. As a result of their actions, I was forced to hire legal counsel.”
Johansson and her legal team are seeking to know how that voice was created and requested that “Sky” be taken down while the legal aspect of this conflict is sorted out. Besides approaching the actress for the use of her voice, Altman also posted “her” on social media before the launch, drawing a similarity between the new voice and the movie voice. Seems suspicious.
For its part, OpenAI did take down “Sky,” albeit reluctantly. “Out of respect for Ms. Johansson, we have paused using Sky’s voice in our products,” said Altman. “We are sorry to Ms. Johansson that we didn’t communicate better.”
New York Post writer Kirsten Fleming summed up the situation very astutely. She wrote: “The arrogance of Silicon Valley’s tech overlords is as wide and endless as the ‘Sky.’ We’ve seen over and over again that they are greedy pirates, capable of plundering intellectual property and the unique gifts of creative artists, photographers, musicians and writers. The material they use to inform AI operating systems is essentially stolen booty, scraped from anyone and everyone.”
Johansson is merely the latest controversy in this new frontier of technology. Influencers have had their likeness stolen and used for deepfake commercials. Ordinary middle and high school girls have had their likeness stolen and manipulated to make deepfake porn. Bad political actors are using the tech to create hate crime hoaxes or to manipulate information leading up to the next election.
AI is either rendering people a little less independent or hijacking their reputations, images, and voices for nefarious purposes. Johansson, like many others, is clamoring for regulations and laws to protect creative intellectual properties. As AI’s deficits begin to outweigh its benefits, something will need to be done. The only question is, how many casualties will be left in the dust before the crackdowns begin?
It’s remarkable just what folks will say in order to avoid the wrath of a certain aggrieved group.

The Alphabet Mafia has quite a grip on society, but not just on the members of their ideological cult or those who wave the rainbow flag or rock purple hair. Their stranglehold is on many who do not hold even one of their many lettered identities. These people seem to voice their support for any and all demands of this particular mob solely out of fear, knowing that the consistent underlying threat of bullying, social cancellation, job loss, or complete reputational demise are all things that lay in wait as retaliatory responses to any type of opposition or resistance.
As such, most might feel that drawing a line in the sand is not worth the risk, no matter how far downward the spiral goes or how many children, teens, and young adults are irreversibly harmed along the way.
Exposing the continued insanity are brave content creators who engage at a grassroots level and are willing to step into the lion’s den (e.g., college campuses) to test out, among many things, whether the allegiance to the trans mob that most people profess is truly genuine — or if it comes from a place of knowing what their fate might be should they question the cause anyway.
Once such creator, “Simply Shula,” recently wandered around a college campus in the standard blue wig and rainbow shirt, and approached random men walking by, asking if they would be willing to donate a testicle to support a trans man (a woman attempting to transition to a man) — as if this is just a normal request to make of a total stranger.
In watching the street conversation, it is obvious that this is not meant to be a legitimate line of questioning, nor is it expected to be taken seriously. However, given the current state of society and the clownish world we live in, the men who agreed to be engaged did so under the impression that she was sincere, and they answered accordingly.
To the first individual, she asked, “Would you donate one of your testicles to benefit trans men and help fight toxic masculinity?” His response was hesitant: “I’d have to know more about the medical implications of me having a procedure to donate one of my testicles, but I’m not against the idea entirely.”
Several more were faced with the same scenario. A more assured man said, “Sure! Why not?”
Another replied, “I suppose in theory, yeah.”
It might need to be explained that it is impossible to donate an organ “in theory.” Then again, it’s also impossible for a woman to become a man.
The issue, in part, is that these young men have been conditioned to believe they cannot say “No” to such a request by this community, no matter how extreme, and that they do not feel secure enough in immediately saying “No,” as they are likely worried about potential backlash. But the other part of the problem is that they seem to think they are proving themselves to be true heroes and dedicated allies to the trans cause. How so? By their stated willingness to make such a significant sacrifice — despite the fact that we all know there is no chance they will ever be required to undergo this procedure. In other words, their heroism is purely for show.
It is easy to virtue signal and say whatever is necessary to, if nothing else, stay off the rainbow bully radar and essentially save your own skin — and perhaps win a few points in popularity on social media and praise from activist groups. You don’t have to think about the impact of vocally supporting these destructive ideas, or about how even the appearance of public backing in the surrounding area might be enough to keep sexually graphic materials in your local school district or legalize harmful drugs and prescriptions for minors. None of that matters when you can present as a champion of these so-called “rights” but face none of the effects in your own life.
A separate round of interview questions carried out on another campus demonstrated the same absolute dismissal of the devastating consequences of gender ideology. A young woman aligned with the conservative Turning Point USA organization approached college students in Arizona, asking them if they would be willing to sign a petition and donate money, all for the purpose of medically transitioning an eight-year-old boy to a girl.
Despite the consistent argument that trans activists and allies spout — that there are no doctors in the U.S. who are carrying out “gender-affirming” surgeries on anyone under the age of 18 — the TPUSA interviewer was able to demonstrate that it is a baseless point, as she quickly gained enough signatures to fill an entire page. They not only stand behind the transition of minors but will donate money from their pockets to fund it.
Anyone who has been following this issue closely knows that there are no lines, limits, or boundaries for what a person will and will not accept, even when faced with the most obvious violation of what’s reasonable or indisputably moral. Once you step into the ring where the standards of compassion and acceptance are to align with delusion and hysteria, there is no going back.

This shadowy group is undeniably calling forth Satan and the Antichrist to lead the world. But what is this group doing at the United Nations?
The Lucis Trust, which has a long history of working with the United Nations, will be celebrating the World Invocation Day today (May 23). This event has been consistently observed on the “day of the Gemini full moon since 1952”, according to the Lucis Trustwebsite. The annual event has to align with astrological cues. Last year, the World Invocation Day was held onJune 3which naturally featured a Gemini full moon. Tomorrow also happens to be the Buddhist holy day ofVesak.
An integral part of the event is the Great Invocation which summons the “spiritual energies of Light, Love and Purpose”. The following mantra, appealing to the “Mind of God” itself, will presumably be chanted by adherents worldwide in order to accelerate the “evolution of human consciousness and the elevation of the Planet.” Here it is, in all its claptrap glory:
The Great Invocation From the point of Light within the Mind of God Let light stream forth into human minds, Let Light descend on Earth. From the point of Love within the Heart of God Let love stream forth into human hearts, May the Coming One return to Earth From the centre where the Will of God is known Let purpose guide all little human wills – the purpose which the Masters know and serve. From the centre which we call the human race Let the Plan of Love and Light work out And may it seal the door where evil dwells. Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth. (adapted)
If the Great Invocation appears like a sinister manifesto, it is simply because it is nothing other than one! Guised under the mumbo-jumbo of New Age esoterism, its primary goal is to hasten the return of the “light” and “Coming One” to Earth.
(Mary Dowling) David Morens testified yesterday Before the House Select Subcommittee on the coronavirus pandemic. He is the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases senior scientific advisor and was Dr. Anthony Fauci’s longtime aide. Reporter Emily Kopp compiled the following information for US RIGHT TO KNOW.
Kopp wrote that emails and testimony from former Fauci aide David Morens trigger concerns about a criminal conspiracy at NIAID.
The Cover Up
A memo and over 150 emailsreleased by the subcommittee show that Morens avoided the Freedom of Information Act by deleting sensitive emails, conducting official business on a private email account, and working with the NIAID administrator in the Freedom of Information office to strategically misspell keywords that the public might request to be searched.View article →

Legacy cable news outlet CNN has suffered another ratings blow as CEO Mark Thompson struggles to bring the network back to relevance.
During the week of May 13–19 from 8 to 11 p.m., the cable channel, which promotes itself as “the most trusted name in news,” only attracted 83,000 viewers between the ages of 25 and 54. This marks its lowest-rated week since 1991, according to Nielsen.
By contrast, Fox News attracted more than twice the audience in the key demo, with 186,000 viewers, according to Nielsen. Left-wing MSNBC came in a distant second with 111,000 viewers, the data showed, according to theNew York Post.
“Thompson better get his act together before he completely destroys CNN,” a top TV news producer told The Post. “It seems like he’s thrown in the towel regarding cable.”
The highest-paid anchor on the network, Anderson Cooper, hosts “AC360” at 8 p.m., “The Source with Kaitlan Collins” at 9 p.m., and “CNN NewsNight” with Abby Phillip at 10 p.m. during the week on CNN’s three-hour primetime block.
CNN’s total weekly viewership was notably low, with only 494,000 viewers compared to Fox News’s 2 million viewers — Fox News shares common ownership with News Corp, the publisher of The Post. MSNBC garnered 1.1 million viewers, according to Nielsen.
“CNN’s new name is Cancelled Network Now,” a media insider joked to The Post. “Young people are as interested in Anderson Cooper as they are in Liza Minnelli.”
The Post added: “A spokesperson for CNN told The Post the network’s primetime ratings are ‘all growing year over year’ among viewers aged 25–54. The rep added that the network’s primetime lineup, starting from “Erin Burnett Outfront” at 7 p.m. to its rebroadcast of Anderson Cooper 360 at midnight, is ‘registering double-digit, year-over-year growth’ in total viewers.”
Thompson has been under pressure to improve sagging ratings and modernize the organization. Following Chris Licht’s disastrous 13-month tenure, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav hired the former executive of the New York Times and BBC last August.
He has left the struggling primetime lineup intact but revamped the equally problematic morning schedule.
“Zaslav went to a programmer in Licht. Now he went to a guy that doesn’t know how to program TV,” a producer told The Post.
Last week, Thompson publicly unveiled a plan focused on CNN’s verticals.
Insiders have described it as a revision of the strategy that former CNN boss Jeff Zucker started seven years ago, which involved launching culture- and lifestyle-focused digital verticals and tiered subscription offerings centered around network personalities.
“We don’t believe news is just politics,” Thompson said in New York last week during the network’s pitch to potential advertisers. “Business and tech are news. Climate and weather are news. Health, wellness, and living longer are news. So expect to see us build new branded verticals in all these areas on TV, on our apps, and across our other platforms.”
Said another media insider to The Post: “I know it’s cliché to say but Thompson is rearranging the deck chairs on The Titanic. He has no new ideas yet. But maybe his old media playbook will work.”
Last month, Thompson said the network faces an “existential crisis” as it deals with cord-cutting and the shrinking cable TV business. “There are plenty of things we have to fix at CNN,” Thompson noted then.
In early March, he unveiled a five-point strategy for rebuilding the network and brand that left experts unimpressed: “Building our digital future,” “A global integrated multimedia news operation,” “Future-proofing TV production,” “Developing new sources of revenue” and “Communication and culture.”
“It’s a five-point plan to make five-point plans,” a media exec told The Post then. “In other words, there is no plan, but we are really planning to make lots of plans. And rest assured, there are lots of people overseeing the planning to make plans. And Mark is overseeing all of the people planning to make plans. So don’t worry. We’ve got this totally under control!”
It has been a rough week for scientists who were in Anthony Fauci’s inner circle at the outset of the pandemic — particularly for Peter Daszak, head of the scandal-plagued EcoHealth Alliance, and for David M. Morens, senior scientific adviser to the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Where Daszak is concerned, all his years of protest and lab-leak denial were apparently for nought, given that he has finally been cut off from all federal funding.
The Department of Health and Human Services told the British zoologist in a letter Tuesday that it holds him personally responsible for EHA’s egregious shortcomings, oversight failures, and opacity as it pertains to the dangerous coronavirus experiments at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Morens, who served as adviser to previous NIAID director Fauci, was accused Wednesday by the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic of undermining the operations of the U.S. government; unlawfully deleting federal COVID-19 records; using a personal email to avoid the Freedom of Information Act; “acting unbecoming of a federal employee”; and “likely lying to Congress on multiple occasions.”
Daszak makes a cameo in many of the emails that Morens may now be regretting.
The duo, who had a hand in helping Fauci downplay the likely lab origin of COVID-19, may soon face greater consequences than strongly worded letters and suspended funding.
“Dr. Daszak’s impending debarment does not shield him from accountability to the American people,” Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), chairman of the coronavirus subcommittee, said in a statement Wednesday. “It appears that Dr. Daszak may have lied under oath about his relationship with the Wuhan Institute of Virology and his compliance with NIH grant procedures.”
As for Morens, the subcommittee indicated that it now has “overwhelming evidence from Dr. Morens’s own email that he engaged in serious misconduct and potentially illegal actions while serving as a Senior Advisor to Dr. Fauci during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Defunding the unaccountable
The Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General blasted EHA in a January 2023 report for dropping the ball on oversight regarding the use of grant money on coronavirus research in China and for failing to comply with federal requirements.
On May 1, the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic released its own report recommending that EHA be permanently cut off from taxpayer funding and that Daszak similarly be cut off as well as criminally investigated.
“Dr. Daszak and his organization conducted dangerous gain-of-function research at the WIV, willfully violated the terms of a multimillion-dollar National Institutes of Health grant, and placed U.S. national security at risk. This blatant contempt for the American people is reprehensible,” Wenstrup said in a statement.
On May 15, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services suspended EHA from participating in federal procurement and nonprocurement programs and proposed its debarment “to protect the public interest.”
Whereas a suspension is a temporary action, a debarment serves as a more definitive denial of grant money that can last for several years and is used primarily for serious violations, according to Nature.
In the memo detailing the decision, HHS suspension and debarment official Henrietta Brisbon reiterated the grievances raised in both the subcommittee’s report and in HHS’ OIG report, altogether making clear that EHA was irresponsible and untrustworthy.
This week, HHS went a step farther, commencing formal debarment proceedings against Daszak.
HHS’ Tuesday letter to the British zoologist states, “The alleged conduct of EHA is imputed to you, because during all or part of the time relevant, you participated in, knew of, or had reason to know of EHA’s improper conduct, through your role as President of EHA, and also as the [program director/principal investigator]” for the relevant grant.
In addition to blackballing Daszak, the letter indicated he is prohibited from doing business with the federal government and receiving a subcontract from a government contractor valued at $35,000 or more and could face a debarment of over three years.
Wenstrup said of Daszak’s fate, “EcoHealth Alliance President Dr. Peter Daszak’s personal debarment will ensure he never again receives a single cent from U.S. taxpayers nor has the opportunity to start a new, untrustworthy organization.”
“This step comes just two weeks after the Select Subcommittee released substantial evidence of Dr. Daszak’s contempt for the American people, his flagrant disregard for the risks associated with gain-of-function research, and his willful violation of the terms of his NIH grant,” added Wenstrup.
Justin Goodman, senior vice president of the White Coat Waste Project — a watchdog that helped expose Daszak’s and Fauci’s ties to the gain-of-function experiments at the WIV — told Blaze News in a statement, “The current government-wide suspension, and proposed debarment, of EcoHealth and Daszak will ensure taxpayers aren’t forced to fund any more of their wasteful and reckless virus hunting and animal experimentation that can cause pandemics and create bioweapons, especially their scary scheme to build a new bat virus lab on U.S. soil.”
Outing the opaque
Blaze News previously reported on Morens’ admission in correspondence with Fauci’s inner circle that he opted to use a personal email account and delete the exchanges thereon to evade Freedom of Information requests.
On Wednesday, the coronavirus subcommittee released a memo presenting previously unreleased email correspondence further indicating that Morens helped Fauci avoid transparency when discussing the origins of COVID-19 — an alleged “conspiracy amongst the highest levels” to hide and potentially “destroy official records regarding the origins of COVID-19.”
In one email to Daszak, dated April 21, 2021, Morens wrote, “PS, i [sic] forgot to say there is no worry about FOIAs. I can either send stuff to Tony on his private gmail, or hand it to him at work or at his house. He is too smart to let colleagues send him stuff that could cause trouble.”
In a May 13, 2021, email where Daszak is copied, Morens wrote, “I suggested to Arthur try to interview Tony directly and connected him to our ‘secret’ back channel. He emailed Tony a few hours ago.”
— (@)
The subcommittee highlighted other efforts by Morens to “backchannel internal NIH information to EcoHealth Alliance President Dr. Peter Daszak” and his discussion of Fauci’s intention to protect Daszak.
There also appears to be evidence that Morens received instruction from the NIH FOIA office on “how to make emails disappear” upon being met with a FOIA request.
In a Feb. 25, 2021, email where Daszak is copied, Morens wrote, “I learned the tricks last year from an old friend, Marg Moore, who heads our FOIA office and also hates FOIAs.”
Like Fauci, Morens apparently preferred to communicate off the record via his personal account.
“I forgot to clarify in my email yesterday that BOTH my gmail and phone calls are now safe. Test is NOT, as it can be FOIA’d, as can my got email,” Morens wrote in a Nov. 19, 2021, letter. “So you and Peter and others sshould be able to email me on gmail only, with the caveat that no other govt. employee is copied at a govt address, as all govt emails are potentially FOIA’able.”
Morens’ help may have come at a price. The subcommittee highlighted one exchange where Morens appears to press Daszak for a “kickback” for his help editing EHA’s grant compliance efforts.
According to the subcommittee, Morens undermined NIH efforts to oversee EHA, provided Daszak “with inside information regarding NIH operations,” and likely provided false testimony to Congress when giving testifying before the subcommittee on Dec. 22, 2023, and Jan. 18.
The New York Post indicated that when Morens, currently on administrative leave, appeared before the subcommittee Wednesday to testify about the findings detailed in the memo, he faced a bipartisan longue lashing.
Ranking member Raul Ruiz (D-Calif.) said, “It is not anti-science to hold you accountable for defying the public’s trust and misusing official resources.”
“What troubles me most about your conduct, Dr. Morens, is the extent to which it so willingly betrays decades of dedication, diligence, and decorum from the thousands of federal scientists and public health workers who came before you, who have served alongside you, and who will serve on into the future,” added Ruiz.
Goodman told Blaze News that for allegedly lying to Congress about what happened in Wuhan, Daszak, Fauci, and Morens “can and should face fines and jail time for perjury, as Senator Rand Paul has requested in referrals to the DOJ.”
John Kerry photographed in 2018 after meeting with Iranian officials to work against the US administration’s policy on Iran.
In March 2018, Barack Obama’s former Secretary of State, John Kerry was caught secretly meeting with Iranian officials to salvage Iran’s nuclear weapons program. Kerry was working against the Trump administration to salvage Obama’s Iranian nuclear deal that funded terrorism across the Middle East.
Obama’s former Secretary of State was seen dining with several Iranian regime officials. The above photo was taken as Kerry left the restaurant in Paris.
Around this time, President Trump withdrew from the sham Iranian nuclear deal. President Trump knew the deal with the Iranian mullahs was not working.
John Kerry reportedly told the Iranian officials to “wait out” Trump’s presidency for more accommodating policies from Democrats.
Kerry knew US dollars sent to Iran in Obama’s sham nuclear deal would end up in the hands of terrorists.
In April 2021, John Kerry was caught on audio sharing information on Israel’s covert operations in Syria with Iran’s foreign minister. This was treasonous behavior. The information was NOT in the public domain as Joe Biden’s administration suggested.
In March 2024 House Republicans demanded John Kerry disclose details about his “shadow diplomacy” with the Iranian regime during the Trump administration — warning that Kerry’s actions may have violated the federal Logan Act.
John Kerry with Iranian Foreign Minister and friend Mohammad Javad Zarif
Earlier this week, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) revealed that he has new emails that show Obama’s Secretary of State John Kerry blocked MULTIPLE FBI attempts to arrest two dangerous Iranian individuals during Obama’s nuclear negotiations with the Iranian regime.
The documents show that Kerry’s State Department stopped eight arrests in order to protect the Iran nuclear deal, including arrests of terrorists.
FBI WBs came to me & Sen Johnson w emails showing fmr Scty of State John Kerry blocked MULTIPLE FBI attempts 2 arrest dangerous Iranian individuals during Iran nuclear deal negotiations Obama/Biden State Dept put politics over natl security We made those records public 2day
During the Obama Administration, the US State Department prevented the FBI from arresting people connected to Iran’s illicit nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs, including “known terrorists,” two Republican Senators said in a bombshell accusation.
Yesterday (Wednesday), Senators Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis) presented unclassified emails from the FBI obtained from whistleblowers showing that the State Department blocked multiple arrests in 2015 and 2016 so as not to jeopardize the Joint Plan of Action, the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran.
In a letter to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the Senators wrote, “The records provided to our offices show that the Obama/Biden administration’s State Department, under the leadership of John Kerry, actively and persistently interfered with FBI operations pertaining to lawful arrests of known terrorists, members of Iranian proliferation networks, and other criminals providing material support for Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.”
They elaborated, “For example, unclassified FBI email records from August 25, 2017, detailed at least eight instances connected to the Iran deal where the ‘FBI/DOJ/USG could have moved forward with the cases but the State Department chose to block them.’ According to the records, in six of these instances, the FBI lost the opportunity to arrest the main subject. The email says that one of the lost main subjects was noted to be ‘on the Terrorism Watch List” and another “returned to Iran.’ The email further says that in another instance the State Department ‘blocked [FBI’s] plan to arrest while the subject was mid-flight and the subject was forced to leave the US immediately upon arrival.’ The email also provides that at least two targets were arrested only after ‘State lifted their block…since the new [Trump] Administration took office.’”
Will Congress take any action against this traitor? We are waiting.

Pope Francis’ recent comments that people are “fundamentally good” have drawn criticism from some Protestants, including Southern Baptist Theological Seminary President Dr. Albert Mohler, who called the pope’s remarks “Christless” and said that they were totally opposed to the teachings of Scripture.
“When you look at the world, what gives you hope?” CBS Evening News anchor and managing editor Norah O’Donnell asked Pope Francis in a wide-ranging interview that aired Sunday evening.
“Everything,” he replied. “You see tragedies, but you also see so many beautiful things. You see heroic mothers, heroic men, men who have hopes and dreams. Women who look to the future. That gives me a lot of hope.”
“People want to live. People forge ahead, and people are fundamentally good,” Francis continued. “We are all fundamentally good. Yes, there are some rogues and sinners, but the heart itself is good.”
In the first extended interview Pope Francis has given an American broadcast network, he discussed the wars in Gaza and Ukraine, immigration, climate change, surrogacy, the role of women in the Catholic church, and his decision to allow the blessing of same-sex couples.
It was Francis’ remarks on human nature, however, that have drawn much of the attention of Protestant Christians. Dr. Albert Mohler, who has criticized Francis before, gave a blistering response to the interview in his edition of “The Briefing” that was published Tuesday, May 21.
“Quite frankly, I think for some evangelical Protestants, it was the first real introduction to the absolute theological vacuum that is represented by the current incumbent of the Vatican, the current pope of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis,” Mohler said.
Mohler said the pope was holding an “unbiblical office” and that Francis’ views are not even compatible with those of Roman Catholicism. “Pope Francis represents the absolute worst of theological irresponsibility,” he said.
The seminary president took issue with remarks Pope Francis made in the middle of the interview, when O’Donnell said, “That’s why so many people found hope with you, because you’ve been more open and accepting perhaps than other previous leaders of the church.”
“You have to be open to everything. You have to. Everyone, everyone, everyone. That so-and-so is a sinner. Me too. I am a sinner,” the pope replied.
“Everyone. [Even] someone with a diverse sexual gender, everyone. Everyone in. Everyone,” he emphasized. “Once inside, we’ll figure out how to sort it all out. But everyone. Do not forget that. The gospel is for everyone.”
At the end of the interview, when O’Donnell asked Francis about his legacy, he said that he is not concerned with his personal legacy but with the legacy of the church and of every Christian. “Personally, I get on the bandwagon of the church and its legacy for all,” he said.
“You mean that the church is for everybody,” O’Donnell responded.
“Yes, for everybody. And in particular for the privileged,” said the pope, explaining that the privileged are “we the sinners” because Jesus came for all of us. “The Lord forgives everything, everything. It is we who get tired of asking for forgiveness.”
Mohler seemed to condense these exchanges into one, focusing on the first. “Everyone is in the church?” he said in his reaction. “Now, I’ll just state that that is outside even the official teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, or it represents an absolute relativization.”
“And it just is claiming that every single human being is right now a part of the Roman Catholic Church,” he added, “and that is just sheer nonsense.”
Mohler then addressed “the most infamous” question of the interview, when O’Donnell asked what gives Francis hope. Notably, some people have disagreed with the reported English translation, “There are some rogues and sinners,” saying the pope’s words were closer to saying, “We are a little bit rogue and sinners.”
In the pope’s reply, said Mohler, “not only did the pope utter absolute banalities and empty words, he directly, repeatedly refuted the direct teachings of Scripture.”
A number of people, including Mohler, who have taken issue with Francis’ response have cited Jeremiah 17:9, which says, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”
Calling the pope’s views “Christless” and saying they demonstrate “the abandonment of the gospel,” Mohler added, “the pope is not alone in this. And the Roman Catholic Church, let’s remember in its official doctrine, contradicts the Protestant understanding of the gospel as revealed in Scripture. That’s just a very honest statement.”
One user on X pushed back on the criticism against the pope, indirectly pointing out that Catholics do not believe in the Calvinist doctrine of total depravity and saying that Francis’ remarks do not negate the idea of original sin.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church on the Holy See’s website explains the doctrine of original sin at length, stating that “Adam and Eve committed a personal sin, but this sin affected the human nature that they would then transmit in a fallen state.”
“It is a sin which will be transmitted by propagation to all mankind,” the catechism says, “that is, by the transmission of a human nature deprived of original holiness and justice.”
“Human nature has not been totally corrupted: it is wounded in the natural powers proper to it, subject to ignorance, suffering and the dominion of death, and inclined to sin—an inclination to evil that is called concupiscence,” the catechism states further on. “Baptism, by imparting the life of Christ’s grace, erases original sin and turns a man back towards God, but the consequences for nature, weakened and inclined to evil, persist in man and summon him to spiritual battle.”
This is a very bad time for those that work in the real estate industry. Thanks to the Federal Reserve, mortgage rates are much higher than they were a couple of years ago, and this has deeply frozen America’s housing market. Millions upon millions of U.S. homeowners are currently paying off fixed rate mortgages that were financed when mortgage rates were at historic lows. If you are one of those homeowners, selling your current home and buying another home that will come with a mortgage at a much higher rate would be very painful financially. So vast numbers of current homeowners feel “locked in” to their current homes. At this point, the number of Americans that are selling homes has fallen to a depressingly low level, and the number of Americans that are buying homes has fallen to a depressingly low level. This isn’t going to change until interest rates go down significantly, but the Federal Reserve is very hesitant to reduce interest rates because of the nightmarish cost of living crisis that we are facing. So our housing market will probably continue to be in a deep freeze for the foreseeable future.
On Wednesday, we learned that sales of existing homes fell once again during the month of April…
Sales of previously owned homes fell by 1.9% to an annual rate of 4.14 million in April, the National Association of Realtors said Wednesday.
That’s the number of homes that would be sold over an entire year if sales took place at the same rate every month as in April. The numbers are seasonally adjusted.
The pace of sales fell short of expectations on Wall Street, which was forecasting a 4.21 million pace for April.
As Zero Hedge has pointed out, sales of existing homes have almost plunged to levels that we last witnessed during the Great Recession of 2008 and 2009.
Normally, when home sales are going down home prices are heading in the same direction, but during the month of April the median price of an existing home actually jumped substantially…
The median price for an existing home in April rose 5.7% to $407,600, as compared with the year before. That’s the highest price recorded for the month of April.
The jump in home prices was the biggest since October 2022.
The reason why this is happening is because it simply does not make financial sense for the vast majority of homeowners to sell their homes right now.
If you got a mortgage when rates were low, that is something that you do not want to give up easily.
According to Zillow, as a result of higher rates the average mortgage payment in the U.S. has almost doubled since January 2020…
A monthly mortgage payment on a typical U.S. home has nearly doubled since January 2020, up 96.4% to $2,188 (assuming a 10% down payment).
I feel so bad for young couples that are looking to buy their very first home in this environment.
My advice would be to keep renting for now and pray that mortgage rates will go down eventually.
Until rates go down, it just doesn’t make sense to buy or sell.
“When we see these mortgage rates, which is a 300 basis point increase from pre-Covid pace, we are in a new territory as to how the lock-in effect will restrain home sales,” said Lawrence Yun, chief economist for the Realtors.
If the Federal Reserve wants to unfreeze the housing market, the solution is easy.
Economists do not expect a significant decline in mortgage rates until the Federal Reserve starts cutting interest rates. The U.S. central bank has raised its benchmark overnight interest rate by 525 basis points since March 2022 to dampen demand in the economy and control inflation.
So for now, many Americans will just do whatever they have to do to survive in this very harsh environment.
Recently, one 34-year-old woman was discovered living inside a rooftop grocery store sign in Michigan…
Police bodycam footage has been released showing the moment a homeless woman was found squatting inside a Michigan rooftop grocery store sign.
The 34 year old, whose identity remains anonymous, had been living behind the triangle-shaped sign – approximately 5ft wide and 8ft high that has a door accessible from the roof – of the Family Fare supermarket, located in Midland, a city approximately 130 miles north of Detroit.
The woman had turned the crawl space into an apartment, which included flooring the woman had laid down, bedding, a houseplant, clothing, a Keuring coffee maker, a desk, a printer, and a computer. She was resourceful, utilizing a power cord plugged into an outlet on the roof to use the grocery store’s electricity.
I applaud her ingenuity.
And from now on, whenever I see a rooftop store sign I will wonder if someone is living inside.
In the days ahead, all of us are going to have to make the most out of whatever circumstances we find ourselves in.
In the short-term, I fully expect economic conditions to quickly deteriorate during the second half of this year, and it appears that the American people as a whole are also becoming more pessimistic about our economic future.
The latest reading of the University of Michigan’s survey showed sentiment plunged to a six-month low of 67.4 in May from a final reading of 77.2 in April as Americans cited stubbornly high inflation and interest rates, as well as fears that unemployment could rise.
The cost of living just continues to soar, businesses are failing all over the country, and more layoff announcements come pouring in with each passing day.
Despite everything that our leaders have done to prop up the economy, we have now reached a breaking point.
So I would very much encourage you to brace yourself for hard times, because economic conditions are going to become very painful during the months ahead.

Health officials are issuing very ominous warnings about the potential for an H5N1 pandemic among humans at the same time that the WHO is preparing for a vote on the global pandemic treaty at the 77th World Health Assembly at the end of this month. The global pandemic treaty will give the World Health Organization far more authority than it had during the last pandemic, and a lot of people are deeply concerned about how that power will be used during the next major health crisis. As you will see below, two more human cases of the bird flu have just been confirmed. If the bird flu mutates into a form that can spread easily from human to human, that will create an enormous amount of fear, and the death toll could potentially be catastrophic. In such an environment, what sort of extreme measures would the World Health Organization decide to institute?
In recent weeks, negotiators have been feverishly working to finalize the global pandemic treaty. The following comes directly from the official WHO website…
Governments of the world today agreed to continue working on a proposed pandemic agreement, and to further refine the draft, ahead of the Seventy-seventh World Health Assembly that starts 27 May 2024.
Governments meeting at the World Health Organization headquarters in Geneva agreed to resume hybrid and in-person discussions over coming weeks to advance work on critical issues, including around a proposed new global system for pathogen access and benefits sharing (i.e. life-saving vaccines, treatments and diagnostics); pandemic prevention and One Health; and the financial coordination needed to scale up countries’ capacities to prepare for and respond to pandemics.
Here in the United States, the mainstream media has been strangely quiet about this treaty, but it is a really big deal.
Negotiations have been taking place for the last two years, and the plan is to submit the final draft for a vote at the World Health Assembly at the end of this month…
The Member State-led Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) was established over two years ago to take this effort forward. The Bureau of the INB, which is guiding the process, will submit its outcome for consideration at the World Health Assembly.
INB Bureau Co-Chair Dr Precious Matsoso, from South Africa, said progress had been made during this latest round of discussions on a wide range of issues contained in the draft agreement.
“We are witnessing history play out before our eyes during this process, with the coming together of all countries to decide a binding pact to protect all citizens of the world,” said Ms Matsoso. “This is not a simple exercise. This is the first ever process to develop a proposed agreement on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response. Getting this done means getting it right, and the INB Bureau is committed to help finalize a meaningful, lasting agreement.”
The 77th World Health Assembly will be held in Geneva, Switzerland from May 27th to June 1st.
Member nations will cast their votes on the final draft of the global pandemic treaty, and it is fully expected to pass.
We have been told that the global pandemic treaty has been “watered down”, but in reality all that has really changed is that some language in the treaty has been made more vague.
If this treaty passes, when the next pandemic erupts the WHO will be running the show, and most people in the general population do not realize this.
And the next pandemic may be a lot closer than most of us think.
On Wednesday, the CDC announced that there has been another confirmed human case of the bird flu in the United States…
The U.S. has documented the second case of bird flu in 2024, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Wednesday.
Health officials identified the avian influenza case in a Michigan dairy farm worker. This is the second time a case has developed in a person working with dairy cows. The virus appears to have developed under similar circumstances as it did earlier this year for a farm worker at a dairy in Texas.
A nasal swab for the infected person tested negative for influenza, however, an eye swab from the patient tested positive for bird flu, indicating an eye infection, the CDC said in a news release.
So far, the two individuals in the U.S. that have been infected in 2024 have both been dairy workers.
There may be many more dairy workers that have been infected, but at this stage a lot of those that work in the industry are very reluctant to get tested…
Farmers have been reluctant to allow federal health officials onto their land to test potentially infected cattle amid uncertainty about how their businesses would be impacted.
Farmworkers have also been reluctant to participate in screening, and experts said it’s likely due to a mix of fears over job loss, immigration status, language barriers and general distrust in public health systems.
Meanwhile, we just learned that H5N1 is responsible for the deaths of four more cats…
Four more cats have died of H5N1 bird flu in the United States, including two pets in South Dakota with no links to poultry or dairy cows, according to state and federal officials. At least 14 cats have recently died of bird flu.
Of the newly reported cases, two were domestic cats which died at a property in Campbell County in South Dakota, according to a state official and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Beth Thompson, the state’s veterinarian, said there was no livestock on the property where the pets died. “No other details regarding how the cats were infected are known at this time,” Thompson told BNO News.
This is not good.
If cats start getting sick and dying on a widespread basis, it is probably just a matter of time before the same thing starts happening among humans.
We don’t know all of the details about these latest cat deaths, but it was being reported that cats that previously died from H5N1 in Texas experienced “brain hemorrhaging” and “blindness”.
Does H5N1 have the potential to do that same sort of damage to humans?
We need an answer to that question, because more human cases are popping up all the time.
In fact, there has now been a confirmed human case in Australia…
A child has been confirmed as the first case of H5N1 bird flu in Australia.
The child contracted the avian influenza A infection while in India and fell ill in March this year, according to Victorian health officials.
The announcement came hours after bird flu was detected on a farm in Victoria.
Since 2003, more than 50 percent of the humans that have tested positive for H5N1 have died.
Can you imagine the fear that will erupt if millions of people suddenly get infected?
