May 24 Evening Verse of the Day

13 The last two verses comprise the ultimate conclusion to the book of Ecclesiastes. They are composed of a declaration and a motive clause.

The Hebrew of the declaration is brief, even abrupt, and thus emphatic (sôp dābār). I have tried to capture this by translating the sentence without a verb (The end of the matter). Some translations try to incorporate what I have taken as two sentences into one sentence, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter” (NKJV), but this obscures the emphatic nature of the verse.89

The abruptness of the first sentence perhaps reflects the impatience of the frame narrator. The effect may be: “Enough of Qohelet, let’s get on with what is really important.”

In any case, we are left in no doubt as to what is of greatest significance for the frame narrator. His statement is brief and to the point, utilizing key words in order to invoke major concepts and also the three different parts of the canon.

First, the frame narrator’s son must Fear God. It is true that Qohelet has stated the same words (3:14; 5:6 [English 5:7]; 7:18; 8:12), but with doubtful conviction (see the commentary at those places). Here there is no doubt that the intention of the speaker/writer is to lead his listener/reader to a right relationship with God, one in which he is properly subservient to the deity. To fear God in this sense means to respect, honor, and worship the Lord. The motto “fear God” also invokes the book of Proverbs (1:7 in particular), a book which has received implicit criticism throughout Qohelet’s writings.

Second, the frame narrator exhorts his son to keep his [God’s] commandments. Qohelet never so admonished his students, and the juxtaposition of the command to fear God and to keep his commandments is one of the major contextual items that signals that the frame narrator advocates orthodox worship, that is, worship in keeping with the normative teachings of the rest of the OT. With his call to obey God’s commandments, we see the frame narrator’s interest not only that his son establish a right relationship with God, but that he maintain it in the proper way. Also, this language evokes the legal material of the OT canon, which is made up of numerous commandments (miṣwôt).

The verse ends with the first of two motive clauses: for this is the whole duty of humanity. Literally, the Hebrew (kî zeh kol-hāʾādām) reads “for this is the whole of humanity,” which may be an idiom in Hebrew, but it does not communicate well in English. The difficulty was felt early in the history of exegesis since even the Talmud (Berakot 6a) raises the question of its interpretation. Rabbi Eleazar answers the question and asserts that the phrase meant that the commands to fear and obey God were the most important things in life. Robert Gordis believes that it is a “pregnant” saying that implies one’s “whole duty.” The general meaning of the statement is fairly clear: fearing God and obeying his commands is the most important thing a man or a woman can do.[1]

13. The Preacher’s message is summarized in two points which concern the greatness of God and the Word of God. The Hebrew emphasizes the words God and commands. The fear of God is the realization of his unchanging power and justice (3:14). It delivers from wickedness and self-righteousness (7:18) and leads to a hatred of sin (5:6f.; 8:12f.). If it is the ‘beginning of wisdom’ (Ps. 111:10; Prov. 1:7; 9:10) it also is the end, the conclusion; no progress in the believer’s life leaves it behind. Nor is the testimony of the New Testament any different (cf. 2 Cor. 7:1).

The reader is urged to keep his commandments. The order of the two points (fear … keep) is significant. Conduct derives from worship. A knowledge of God leads to obedience; not vice versa. This is the only place in Ecclesiastes where the commands of God are mentioned. The body of the book has simply placed two alternative views of life over against each other and the life of faith has been commended. Now in the epilogue, almost as an aside, it is pointed out that such a life will have implications. It must not be restricted to the Mosaic law. It refers to all that is known to be God’s will. The last phrase reads literally: ‘For this is the whole of the man.’ Elsewhere in Ecclesiastes, however, the ‘whole of the man’ is a Hebrew idiom for ‘every man’ (cf. 3:13; 5:19). The sense, therefore, is ‘This applies to everyone’.[2]

Ver. 13. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments. The purpose of life:

I. Life has a purpose. The architect intends the building he designs and erects to answer a specific end; so is it with the engineer, the ship-builder, the mechanic, the artist, the creator and fashioner of any work. Surely God must have had some end in view in making the universe, and in making us what we are, and in placing us in the midst of such wondrous realities.

II. What is the purpose of life?

1. It is our business to see that we get into right relationship with God. By nature and by practice we are in a state of alienation from Him; there is a breach of our own making—between Him and us. Our prime concern should be to get that breach healed. This is possible.

2. Our reconciliation to God effected, we should constantly love Him and obey Him, and seek His glory. For this He has given us life, physical strength, mental endowments, our spiritual nature. He has placed us here that we may do His will. This should be our continual aim. To engage in this employ should be considered rather a privilege than an obligation. In all pursuits and circumstances we should seek to live for God. Indeed, we can only fulfil this purpose by attending to details. It is only by being faithful in the least that we can be faithful in much. In mosaic, it is the filling up with small pieces that often gives completeness and beauty to the design. The neglect of little things sometimes leads to serious results. Let life’s details be “with God.” If we take heed to this, all our work will be done well.

3. The purpose of life embraces love and service to all mankind. In the sins and sorrows of men; in their struggle with poverty—aye, and with riches; in their temptations, and need of succour and sympathy; in all these see your field of toil. Up to your work. Perform it with glad heart and diligent hands; and never grow weary—at all events, never grow idle—till you can say, as your Master said—“It is finished.” When Dr. Donne was dying, he said, “I count all that part of my life lost which I spent not in communion with God, or in doing good.” (W. Walters.)

The moral of it all:

There are times when every one of us is either constrained by sorrow, or invited by the hope of profit, to take stock of his recollections. We have all desired eagerly, we have all toiled; not one of us but has had his aspirations and his disappointments. Life has turned out, and will, we suppose, turn out differently from what we either hoped or found when we sallied forth upon its ways untried. The book is sympathetic with all who have lost their illusions; with all who watch the bright dreams die out one by one like the fairy lamps of some summer’s festival. How often have we exclaimed with the Preacher, as the hollowness of each pretence of this most pretentious world has been exposed by our own trial: “This also is vanity!” But there is another side to the subject. Some things are real. Never does the author of this book speak of religion as if it were an illusion, or of God as if He were other than true. The spiritual part by which we are related to God and know God is our genuine self. It is because the soul wants truth that it discards so impatiently the counterfeits of truth that press upon its notice. If there were not a vital spark of worth in the soul it would never criticize so severely the mass of worthlessness which surrounds it. That, then, is our subject—the vanity of the world and the worth of religion, and each of these seen, and seen only, in contrast and foil to the other.

1. We may name three things on which the moralist writes the legend of vanity—human labour, human knowledge, human pleasure.

(1) One of his thoughts about labour is that it seems a fruitless fretting against the fixed forces of nature. “The earth abideth for ever.” Suns arise and set; the wind shifts from quarter to quarter; the rivers flow to the sea, and the brooks flow to the rivers. There are times when we are oppressed with this thought, and it becomes unbearable. As one of our English noblemen, who had a mansion overlooking the beautiful valley of the Thames, said: “I cannot understand why people delight in the view of the river; there it is—flow, flow, flow, always the same!” How speedily the effect of man’s toil vanishes from the face of Nature! There is nothing more beautiful than the sight of well-ordered gardens or cultivated field; yet how quickly does Nature, as if in defiance of man’s effort at improvement, come rushing back with her weeds and wildness!

(2) Again, the contrast of human knowledge and wisdom with the sameness of human nature leads to the same reflection of disappointment. Increase of knowledge means increase of sorrow. The study of history brings to light a long series of passionate struggles after truth and good, which have incessantly to be begun anew.

(3) The Preacher turned with sickness of heart from the toil of knowledge, and betook himself to refined pleasures. The thought of death, levelling all distinctions, intruded itself upon him. The wise man is equalled in the earth at last with the fool. Life became odious to him because the work wrought under the sun was grievous to him; for all was vanity and vexation of spirit.

2. And now we come to “the conclusion of the whole matter.” If this legend, “Vanity and vexation of spirit,” is to be written upon the objects of human desire and delight, if the world sounds hollow wherever we touch it, where is reality to be found? The simple answer of the Preacher is, it is to be found in religion: “Fear God, and keep His commandments.” God is real as the soul is real. He is, as Augustine describes Him, the Life of our life, the core of our hearts. God is that pure and perfect Being for alliance and communion with whom we long. And it is the light we have from Him and in Him which makes the world look so dark, the perception of His rightness which throws into painful contrast the crookedness of men’s ways, and of His beauty which makes their wickedness so deformed. And our happiness must lie, for each one of us, in loyalty to Him, in the keeping of His laws, whether they be known to us through the study of Nature or of sacred Scriptures, or by attentive study of our own hearts and the oracular spirit of holiness, whose influence is felt therein. It is in weariness of the world that we fall back upon the sweetness and truthfulness of pure religion for our refreshment and solace; it is when we have given up the conceit of being wiser than our forefathers, and the hope of setting crooked things straight, that we see distinctly the cultivation of our souls to be our main concern, and the only way to better the world is by reverently attending to our duty in wholeness and simplicity of heart. It is an ill thing for us if, when we have found out the hollowness of this bubble-like world, the trickiness and imposture of human nature, we say: “We will live like the rest, we will not take things seriously, we will pass on our way with a smile and a jest, trusting nothing, hoping nothing.” It is only the presence of God that is of substantial and eternal good, that can console us for the vanity of earthly things, as the Preacher found so long ago. (E. Johnson, M.A.)

Making the most of life:—

What is meant by “making the most of life”? The answer may be given in four distinct yet related propositions.

I. The wise reckoning of life in its end, aims, limitations, and possibilities. Life is a serious and tremendous reality; life is short at best; life is freighted with infinite possibilities of good and evil; life is a responsible trust of infinite solemnity and importance. To enter upon such a life and spend its precious years, and part with its priceless opportunities, without due consideration, with no serious thought of the future—the end, the obligations and the final issues of life—is to act the part of a fool and a wanton sinner.

II. The right choice of means for the securing of life’s great end. Life is a rational, fearful trust, which God has put into our hands, and He will hold us strictly responsible for the use and outcome of it. On the right choice of means and their wise and faithful application will depend mainly the tone, the character, the fruit, and the final outcome of life itself.

III. A jealous husbanding of all the resources at our command, in order to accomplish life’s end and mission.

IV. The utmost outlay of will and energy and effort to get the best possible results out of this brief period of probationary existence. The present is the seedtime of an eternal existence. Brief as this life is it affords the only chance of heaven. Our days are “numbered” from the start—enough, but not one too many, for the work given us to do. We must up and haste. (J. M. Sherwood, D.D.)

The fear of God:—

The fear of God which he holds up before us, as the whole work and duty and happiness of man, is such a fear as blends with love, and issues in all holy obedience, in the keeping of God’s commandments, heartily, impartially, universally.

I. The principle of religion. This is the fear of God, not such a dread as wicked men have, and which makes them tremble—like the devils in their prison beneath, but a holy and reverential sense of His majesty—a belief in His presence, power, and goodness—the adoration of His love and wisdom—the reliance upon His providence and the dread of His displeasure. By consequence, the fear of God includes our belief in Him, as He has revealed Himself to us in His Word. The fear of God which I now commend to you is a mixed feeling—love, faith, confidence must blend with it. This is the inward principle of religion—without it there can be no acceptable worship. There are two extremes from which it is alike distant. The one extreme is that dread, which engenders superstition and human devices for its palliation and removal.

II. This fear is seen in its results—it necessarily leads to practice; it is in connection with duty and obedience. When we see the movements of a clock, or any complex machine, we know that there is a power at work within. If the hands of a watch move, we know that there is a cause; the result follows of course. It is so with the outward acts of religion when they are right; they spring from the inward principle. The great virtue of this inward principle is, that it actuates man in his conduct universally; it gives a right aim and tendency both to his desires and affections—both to his words and works. To govern the tongue, to restrain the appetites of the body, to correct the temper, to keep down the swellings of pride, the suggestions of malice and revenge, to curb all dishonesty in desire and action, to secure temperance, soberness, and chastity; “to keep the hands from picking and stealing, and the tongue from evil speaking, lying, and slandering;” to establish truth and integrity in the deep places of the heart; these are all results flowing from an inward principle of the fear of God.

III. This is the whole of man; his whole duty, his highest achievement, his noblest work. (H. J. Hastings, M.A.)

What is the whole duty of man:—

The Book of Ecclesiastes resembles that of Job—its aim is not disclosed till it ends. It might be called the Book of Awakening and Renunciation. If we look at life from a mere earthly point of view it is not worth living. All is vanity; what’s the use? As the book closes it reveals the true philosophy of life.

I. The fear of God. This includes a variety of feelings.

1. Reverence. This may be viewed as threefold, according to Goethe’s profound view of education—reverence for what is above us, reverence for our equals, and reverence for what is below us.

2. The fear of offending God by doing what is sinful.

3. This fear, which springs from reverence, has in it no torment, and is closely allied to hope.

II. The obedience of God. To keep His commandments includes the whole duty of man; or this is every man’s duty. The tree of duty supports many branches.

1. Our duty to God.

2. Our duty to ourselves.

3. Our duty to others.

III. Some reasons.

1. Our whole life shall be judged.

2. Every secret thing in the whole of life shall be revealed in the judgment, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (L. O. Thompson.)

The summary of manhood:—

There is no need to caution men against the fear of God. The tendency to-day is not to fear too much, but too little.

I. Fear God. Godly fear is salutary.

1. It fosters reverence.

2. It guards virtue.

3. It restrains from sin.

4. It impels to obedience; to the—

II. Keeping of God’s commandments; of the commandment.

1. To repent.

2. To believe in the Lord Jesus. These are preliminary—to keeping—

3. The great commandment; and—

4. That “like unto it,” and the command—

5. To walk in “all the statutes of the Lord.”

III. “This is the whole duty of man;” rather, “this is the whole”—that is, this is everything—“so far as man’s life is concerned.” This is everything as it relates—

1. To faith.

2. To experience.

3. To conduct.

4. To service. Thus you get the complete man. (R. C. Cowell.)

The whole duty of man:—

This suggests as a theme for meditation the fact that the religion revealed by God includes the entire sphere of possible human activity; that there is nothing good that a man can think, do, or say, or feel, which cannot in its highest forms be shown to be rooted in, and a fruit of, the religion which God has revealed. “Fear God, and keep His commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.”

I. The first point to determine is the meaning of the word fear. It is not slavish fear; it is not the feeling that a man might have who was writhing on the earth at the approach of a despot, and expecting to be ground into dust by the stamp of his iron heel. The scriptural meaning of fear is what we suggest by the word revere. “Revere God, and keep His commandments.” This is the “fear of the Lord that is the beginning of wisdom.” Revering God as our Creator, as the Sovereign of the universe, as the one Lawgiver, is the union of the intellect which approves, and the heart which loves, and the will which consents. They are all in the single word revere. When reverence for God exists in a human soul, the natural attitude of that soul is the attitude which led St. Paul, while yet his name was Saul, to cry out: “Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?”

II. When a child of God, revering Him, asks this question, he finds that the commandments of God include his devotions. The explanation of prayer, of the holy Sabbath, and of the Word of God is to be found in the fact that they create, maintain, and increase reverence.

III. Observe, also, that God’s commands take the form of righteousness, and these commands are simplified, and then details are presented under them. The first and great commandment is that “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, mind, and strength.” The only definition of the love of God which can satisfy the mind or the heart is “to have an intense desire to please Him.” It will apply equally to spirits in the body and out of the body. And the second is like unto it: “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” This does not mean more than thyself, as some fanatics have supposed, but as thyself; not in the sense of caring for thy neighbour as for thyself, or of caring for his house, his children, his life; but in this sense: that thou wilt do good to thy neighbour as thou hast opportunity, and that thou wilt not do evil to him even for thine own transient advantage. May 26 – But David … | VCY

TODAY’S BIBLE READING CHALLENGE:
  2 Samuel 9:1-11:27
  John 15:1-27
  Psalm 119:49-64
  Proverbs 16:1-3

2 Samuel 9:1 — Vows are important (Deuteronomy 23:21-23). David made a covenant with Saul before the LORD (I Samuel 24:21), and with Jonathan (1 Samuel 18:3, 1 Samuel 20:42).

2 Samuel 10:5 — The esteem of the nation of Israel was in how the other nations treated the ambassadors from Israel. By treating them shamefully, they declared war on Israel. David was loyal to his servants and protected their reputation and that of the nation they served.

2 Samuel 11:1 — We have seen many great victories of David, now we see the words “But David …” When he should have been at work, he tarried. When one warned him (2 Samuel 11:3), he disregarded it. While he acted in an unethical military manner as an absentee king, he had a loyal soldier who acted ethically (2 Samuel 11:11). But David’s actions were plainly understood by the unethical Joab (2 Samuel 11:19).

2 Samuel 11:27 — The chapter that starts “But David …” ends with “But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.”

John 15:2 — The last lines of Ron Hamilton’s song “Rejoice in the LORD” echo this verse:

God strengthens His children, and purges in love.
My Father knows best, and I trust in His care;
Through purging, more fruit I will bear.

Ron Hamilton

John 15:5 — Some change the verse to say, “Without me ye can’t do everything.” Nope … it literally says, “You can do nothing without Jesus.” The challenge in ministry is that one can get caught up in doing things for Jesus, as opposed to doing things by Jesus. The scary admonition is what happens when we try to do things without Jesus … “they are burned” (John 15:6).

John 15: 7, 12, 13 — From Earl Martin (If Ye Abide in Me):

John 15:14 — Again, Jesus reiterates the connection between love, fellowship, and obedience.

Psalm 119:49 — What is the root of our hope? The Word of God in us. The memory of His judgments (Psalm 119:52). The melody of His statutes (Psalm 119:54). The motivation of His judgments (Psalm 119:62).

Proverbs 16:3 — How can we know what our thoughts should be? By giving our agenda to the LORD.

Implicit Trust | VCY

For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord. (Jeremiah 39:18)

Behold the protecting power of trust in God. The great men of Jerusalem fell by the sword, but poor Ebed-melech was secure, for his confidence was in Jehovah. Where else should a man trust but in his Maker? We are foolish when we prefer the creature to the Creator. Oh, that we could in all things live by faith, then should we be delivered in all time of danger! No one ever did trust in the Lord in vain, and no one ever shall.

The Lord saith, “I will surely deliver thee,” Mark the divine “surely.” Whatever else may be uncertain, God’s care of believers is sure. God Himself is the guardian of the gracious, Under His sacred wing there is safety even when every danger is abroad. Can we accept this promise as sure? Then in our present emergency we shall find that it stands fast. We hope to be delivered because we have friends, or because we are prudent, or because we can see hopeful signs; but none of these things are one-half so good as God’s simple “because thou hast put thy trust in me.” Dear reader, try this way, and, trying it, you will keep to it all your life. It is as sweet as it is sure.

Join us on Zoom link https://zoom.us/j/776881184 anytime from 8 PM Friday 24 May to 9 PM Monday 27 May (AEST).

Intention

To fervently pray that God will use us to share the good news with others.

Scripture

“Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; proclaim his deeds among the peoples.”

– Psalm 105:1

Reflection

Prayer and sharing the good news go hand in hand. Many Christians seek to be used by God to lead people to faith in Jesus Christ.

But the Bible tells us that such is never likely to happen unless we pray. If there was ever a person who could have relied on his knowledge of the truth, the power and effectiveness of the spoken word, it was the great Apostle Paul. But such was not the case. Paul knew that prayer was the key.

If people’s lives are to change then the Holy Spirit, the great evangelist, must be involved. He is the one who creates the opportunities for us to share our faith, and to put the words that challenge hearts into our mouths.

In Colossians 4:3 he writes, “Pray for us, that God may open a door for the word to make clear the mystery of Christ”. In Ephesians 6:19 he says, “Pray for me, that words may be given to me to proclaim the mystery of the gospel.”

If we wish to be more effective in sharing our faith, then we must be more effective in applying the power of prayer. Prayer must be the preparation that precedes our evangelistic endeavours.

Prayer is fundamental to sharing the good news. By centralising prayer, we acknowledge that only God can save lives – not us. In Ezekiel 37, the prophet is commanded to proclaim the promises of God to the dry bones, but Ezekiel is also commanded to pray to the wind—the Spirit. The latter is commanded so that the bones can indeed live.

Prayer is both a form of and a tool to support evangelism. Many of the great evangelists had a team alongside them who prayed before and during their meetings for the salvation of souls. By having these teams, the great evangelists acknowledged it was not their efforts alone that brought sinners to salvation. The real work is done by the Holy Spirit empowered by the prayers of the saints.

Many have come to Christ through a dream or vision, without direct human communication of the gospel. However, even here, this person often had someone praying for them. And usually, in the dream, the Lord directs the person to a man or woman to go and see. This is the sovereign work of God in response to the prayers of God’s people for the lost of this world.

So today, let’s do more than hope. Let’s begin to fervently pray. And let’s ask God to use each one of us to present the message of the gospel boldly and clearly. When God divinely orchestrates these conversations, they often end with someone repenting of their sins and placing their trust in Jesus Christ.

Video

Prayer

Dear Lord,

I want to share the gospel and make disciples of all nations. But too often I allow fear to stop me, and I become focused on my own shortcomings. Remind me that it is not an eloquent speaker that You seek. It is simply obedience from a heart that loves Christ and has experienced Your grace.

Thank You for granting me Your grace and saving me through Your Son. As I share the gospel with others, may Your Holy Spirit empower me with boldness and courage. Keep me from shrinking back in fear and help me to rely on Your Holy Spirit.

Help me to place my confidence in You, knowing that You are with me. Help me not forget that You are the one who saves. Remind me that the power to change a heart and take it from death to life is in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Day 24: The Unfailing Love of God – The Daily Declaration

Focus

Three Days of 24/7 Prayer in May

Join us on Zoom link https://zoom.us/j/776881184 anytime from 8 PM Friday 24 May to 9 PM Monday 27 May (AEST).

Intention

To go deeper in God’s love so that we can give to others what we have first received.

Scripture

“We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in Him.”

– 1 John 4:16

Reflection

So often I am struck by the goodness of God. When ministering on outreach, on the street or even in a church setting, I can’t help but notice that God has set people up, sent them to our street corner or been whispering “that song” over them. God continues to pour out His Spirit despite our inadequacies and failings.

The Bible teaches us that He became sin, who knew no sin, that we might become the righteousness of God (2 Cor 5:21). Yes, we are His very own sons and daughters, ambassadors in this world. As ambassadors, we plead with our family, our neighbours, our cities and our leaders to be reconciled to God (2 Cor 5:19–20).

This ministry of reconciliation we have been given has nothing to do with us. Yet, in our performance-driven society, we very often forget it. Our ministry is not based on our ability, talents, personality types, ‘worthiness’, or (dare I say it) – even our anointings.

No! It is only based on the goodness of God.

You see, for God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). You and I have been made worthy by His blood.

It’s not because of what we’ve done. It’s only because of what He has done.

God is even more desperate to pour out His Spirit on those around us than we are. When we step out despite ourselves, the Holy Spirit is more than ready to encounter that person. Should we be surprised?

It’s His love, His strength, His heart for the nations. Again and again, I am amazed at how my simple obedience, even in my weakness, becomes a magnet for God’s favour and power.

So, this question remains: How can we become living tabernacles of God, ever-ready with the love and power of God?

Indeed, how can anyone give the love of God unless he has first received it? The apostle John wrote in 1 John 4:16, “We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in Him.”

It is not enough to intellectually ‘know’ the love of God. We must believe it. And John himself did not stop at knowing and believing. He spoke God’s love over himself, gave himself a new nickname, “the beloved disciple”, and even wrote about it to others!

Right now, let’s make this declaration: “I am the one Jesus loves”. May we become the people who not only know about God’s love but also believe it for ourselves and others.

Above all, the hallmarks of true revival are people who have radically encountered the love of God and been transformed by it – long after the meetings have ended. It is this transformation in His presence, that we must make space for in every day of our lives.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord, forgive us for our busyness, our distractions and our striving. Lord, mark us with Your love and mark us with Your holy fire. May we become living and walking tabernacles of Your presence, so consumed with Your love. May we find ourselves immersed in You, wherever, whenever and however You lead. For in You, we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28).

Lord, may it be Your personal, unfailing love that I encounter and live out of each day. Lord, make me a vessel of Your holiness, washed in the blood, a yielded target for Your power and favour. I want to find the love of Jesus and live each day to love Him back.

Thank You, Jesus, for your radical, unfailing love for me. I love You, Jesus. Amen.

NATO has become military wing of globalist cabal that promotes the self-destruction of all nations in a depopulated world
One of NATO’s primary missions is to spread instability throughout the world, using the military-industrial complex to bully and intimidate countries non-compliant with a militant anti-family anti-God agenda flowing out of Western capitals and promoted by Western media.

The WHO’s Pandemic Treaty And A Bird Flu Crisis Are Both Arriving At The Same Time
Health officials are issuing very ominous warnings about the potential for an H5N1 pandemic among humans at the same time that the WHO is preparing for a vote on the global pandemic treaty at the 77th World Health Assembly at the end of this month.  The global pandemic treaty will give the World Health Organization far more authority than it had during the last pandemic, and a lot of people are deeply concerned about how that power will be used during the next major health crisis.

UK flood risk: We are being subjected to blatant lies, deception and misdirection
Yesterday, the Daily Mail published an article stating that Oliver Dowden, the UK Deputy Prime Minister, was going to advise people to make contingency plans for dealing with potential emergencies to help build ‘national resilience’ and ease pressure on emergency services. Dowden wants to encourage families to stock up with enough food and water to survive for three days in the event of an emergency like a flood.

Maryland: Governor signs bill ousting Hamas-linked CAIR from state hate crimes monitoring board
Richly deserved and long overdue. In fact, the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) never should have been on the board in the first place. Also, there should be no such board. A crime is a crime. If you assault someone, you should be prosecuted. If you assault someone while calling him a racial slur, you should be prosecuted. “Hate crime” is a concept that is predicated upon the assumption that there is speech that should be prohibited. This opens the way to larger restrictions on speech, and to tyranny.

The Health and Human Services arm of the ruling class is now “advancing” its preplanned scamdemic “vaccines” for the bird flu. In order to “prepare” for the next plandemic, the ruling class is going to be creating 4.8 million H5N1 avian influenza shots along with a propaganda campaign to convince the slave class to get injected, once again.

FEATURED ANALYSIS

NYT Scoop: Alito Is an ‘Insurrectionist’

The Supreme Court justice has faced attacks over a couple of flag displays at his homes.

Nate Jackson

Democrats need to delegitimize the Supreme Court so they can eventually pack it with loyal leftists. Keep that in mind every time they attack Clarence Thomas over a vacation or Samuel Alito over a flag.

The latter justice has been the subject of leftist consternation for the last week or so, ever since The New York Times put a team of crack journalists on the case of a couple of flags flown by the Alito family.

First up was a breathless story drawing a straight line from Justice Alito to January 6. “At Justice Alito’s House, a ‘Stop the Steal’ Symbol on Display,” read the Times headline, followed by the teaser, “An upside-down flag, adopted by Trump supporters contesting the Biden victory, flew over the justice’s front lawn as the Supreme Court was considering an election case.”

The story didn’t use the word “insurrectionists” (or, as Joe Biden recently called them, “erectionists”), but the Times insists the connection was clear: “The upside-down flag was aloft on Jan. 17, 2021, the images showed. President Donald J. Trump’s supporters, including some brandishing the same symbol, had rioted at the Capitol a little over a week before.”

Never mind that Alito was on the losing side of that election case, meaning the flag had no bearing on the outcome of the case.

More importantly, “I had no involvement whatsoever in the flying of the flag,” Justice Alito said in an emailed statement to The Times. “It was briefly placed by Mrs. Alito in response to a neighbor’s use of objectionable and personally insulting language on yard signs.”

Shannon Bream of Fox News shares what the Times didn’t tell you:

I spoke directly with Justice Alito about the flag story in the NYT. In addition to what’s in the story, he told me a neighbor on their street had a “F*** Trump” sign that was within 50 feet of where children await the school bus in Jan 21. Mrs. Alito brought this up with the neighbor. According to Justice Alito, things escalated and the neighbor put up a sign personally addressing Mrs. Alito and blaming her for the Jan 6th attacks.

So, where did the “Stop the Steal” connection come from? An “expert” cited by the Times called an upside-down flag “the equivalent of putting a ‘Stop the Steal’ sign in your yard.”

Oh, so it’s a dog whistle for “experts.”

The truth is that an upside-down flag has long been understood as a sign of distress.

A few days later, the Times put three journalists on another story about a “provocative flag” flown by the Alitos: “The justice’s beach house displayed an ‘Appeal to Heaven’ flag, a symbol carried on Jan. 6 and associated with a push for a more Christian-minded government.” The Times spends much of its word count in both articles discussing ethics rules for jurists, though none of those rules apply to spouses.

This flag appeared at the Long Beach Island house in 2023, but it, too, sounded the same dog whistle for “Stop the Steal.”

Senator Dick Durbin called it part of “the Court’s ongoing ethical crisis.” Senator Mazie Hirono wailed, “We have an out-of-control Supreme Court majority.” Clearly, the real game here is to delegitimize the Court. Senator Jeff Merkley literally said it: “Frustration with the Court in the sense that it is illegitimate is extremely high.”

The long-term objective is delegitimizing the Court, but the short-term aim is winning a couple of cases. “Alito must recuse himself immediately from cases related to the 2020 election and the January 6th insurrection,” Durbin insisted. He didn’t say it, but these hit pieces are also retribution for Alito having written the Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

The Democrats attempt to smear and discredit every originalist, and they have been doing so since Ted Kennedy made a sick sport out of “borking” nominees to the bench. Alito was the victim of that same vile tactic in 2006, which left Mrs. Alito in tears at the time.

Furthermore, call me crazy, but it’s pretty rich for leftists to be outraged about flags. They burn the American flag, for one thing, in addition to kneeling instead of saluting it during the national anthem. Spare me the outrage over flying it upside down.

They also plaster rainbow flags over almost literally everything (including the American flag) for large parts of the year, especially “Pride Month,” which — I appeal to heaven! — starts in a few days. Last year in June, Joe Biden flew the garish transgender flag from the White House itself — while some dude flashed his prosthetic breasts on the lawn, I might add. Biden’s State Department flies the rainbow flag at its facilities all over the world (except in Muslim countries).

“The Constitution provides that the government shall not establish any official religion,” opined Senator Brian Schatz, but the rainbow flag is arguably a symbol of the Left’s state religion. But the Times reporters have their knickers in a twist over a Revolutionary-era flag.

The “Appeal to Heaven” flag, by the way, originates with an important American named George Washington. Maybe the Times reporters have heard of him. He specifically commissioned it in 1775, and it was designed by his personal secretary, Colonel Joseph Reed. In a sense, it was the symbol of a real insurrection — the one against the British tyrants who overtaxed and tried to disarm American colonists. Come to think of it, that sounds familiar…

Executive News Summary

Trump takes to the South Bronx, GOP shoots down awful border bill, CNN’s sinking ratings hit a new low, and more.

Douglas Andrews, Thomas Gallatin, & Jordan Candler

Cross-Examination

  • Trump takes to the South Bronx: “Build the wall!” That cry, along with “We love Trump!” were the prevailing chants yesterday at a Donald Trump rally in the deep-blue South Bronx that drew as many as 25,000. The majority-minority borough isn’t likely to go for Trump in November, but the movement his campaign has seen in New York — Joe Biden won the state by 23 points in 2020 but leads by only nine points now — is telling. It’s been 40 years since a Republican won New York. That was when Ronald Reagan swept 49 of the 50 states against Walter Mondale. “These millions and millions of people that are coming into our country,” said Trump to a notably black and brown audience, “the biggest impact, and the biggest negative impact, is against our black population and our Hispanic population, who are losing their jobs, losing their housing, losing everything they can lose.” That economic message should scare the daylights out of Biden and his fellow Democrats. Polls aren’t votes, of course, and neither are rallies. But as The Wall Street Journal’s James Freeman observed on Fox News this morning, “What you’re seeing here, I think, is the modern version of Reagan Democrats.”
  • GOP senators shoot down awful border bill: Just as he threatened to do, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer brought a horrible border bill before his chamber for another vote yesterday, hoping to give Biden and his fellow Democrats a lifeline while putting the Republicans on the defensive on a hugely important campaign issue ahead of the 2024 election. And just as the Republicans did the first time, they shot it down in flames, 43-50, with a few Democrats crossing over and joining them. As The Washington Post reports, “The no votes included two senators, Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) and James Lankford (R-Okla.), who originally negotiated the deal and criticized the vote as political gamesmanship.” Said a disingenuous Schumer ahead of the vote: “To my Republican colleagues: You wanted this border bill, today we vote on this border bill, and it’s time to show you’re serious about solving the problem.” To which we reply: Where were you and your fellow Democrats during the first three and a half years of the Biden presidency while 10 million illegals were waltzing across our wide-open southern border?
  • Does the NFL’s Goodell value diversity of opinion? “Listen, we have over 3,000 players,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell yesterday. “They have diversity of opinions and thoughts just like America does. I think that’s something we treasure. That’s part of what ultimately makes us as a society better.” That’s certainly a walk-back from the league’s comments last week in the wake of Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker’s commencement speech at tiny Benedictine College, a Catholic liberal arts school in Atchison, Kansas. At the time, Goodell’s diversity officer said of Butker: “His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion. Which only makes our league stronger.” As we noted last week, Butker’s message was perfectly suited to his devout Catholic audience, but it was too much for the woke Left, whose adherents headed to Change.org to create a petition calling for the Chiefs to release their kicker “for discriminatory remarks.” The petition has topped out at around 225,000 signatures, which amounts to around one indignant leftist snowflake for every 1,500 Americans.
  • Norfolk Southern agrees to $310M settlement: It was a little over a year ago that a Norfolk Southern train derailed in the small town of East Palestine, Ohio, resulting in the spill of hazardous chemicals. Both waterway and air contamination forced the evacuation of many residents. In April, Norfolk Southern agreed to a $600 million class-action settlement with residents within a 20-mile radius of the derailment. On Thursday, the railroad company agreed to a $310 million settlement with the EPA and DOJ, which includes a $15 million civil penalty for allegedly violating the Clean Water Act. That said, Norfolk Southern is not expressing liability for the derailment. While no one was killed in the incident, the sheer scope of the toxic spill registers as among the worst in U.S. rail history.
  • NYC begins evicting illegals from shelters: Following a deal reached with migrant advocacy groups, New York City will begin evicting from its shelters illegal aliens who have exceeded the 30-day limit for adults or the 60-day limit for young adults ages 18 to 23. The city currently has more than 65,000 migrants filling its shelters, which are intended for the city’s homeless population. Migrants with young families will be permitted to reapply for shelter once they hit their time limit; however, others will be required to leave. Any agreement that allowed the city to evict migrants from shelters would produce cries of “inhumanity,” complained Democrat Mayor Eric Adams. “People said it’s inhumane to put people out during the wintertime, so now they say it’s inhumane to do it in the summertime. It’s humane to do it in the springtime. It’s humane to do in the fall time.” He added, “It’s always inhumane to have to not be able to house 198,000 people.” Well, Adams and the residents of NYC wouldn’t have to deal with this problem in the first place if it wasn’t for Joe Biden’s border malfeasance.
  • CNN’s sinking ratings hit a new low: CNN hasn’t seen numbers this bad in over three decades. Last week, the Leftmedia cable news outlet pulled in just 83,000 viewers among the prized 25-54 age demographic during its 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. time slot. To make matters worse, over the entire week, CNN hit 494,000 viewers. The last time CNN saw numbers this bad was back in 1991. Meanwhile, CNN’s biggest competitors, Fox News and MSNBC, saw two million and 1.1 million totals, respectively. Last June, CNN fired CEO Chris Licht, who was directing the news outlet to become more straight news and less leftist-biased. CNN editor-in-chief Mark Thompson replaced him, but that move has not reversed the sinking ratings. Responding to CNN’s abysmal viewership, Fox News’s Joe Concha gloated, “Being MSNBC Light appears to not be the smartest strategy. And all the propping up of Abby Philip and Kaitlyn Collins isn’t improving the situation.”
  • Crockett trademarks slam against Greene: In an awful sign of the times — and of the type of people we’re attracting to Washington, DC, these days — Democrat Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has filed for a trademark of the insult she hurled last week at her Republican “colleague” Marjorie Taylor Greene during a House hearing. As The Hill reports: “An application for ‘bleach blonde bad built butch body’ was filed by Crockett’s campaign Sunday with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.” Just think: In the days and weeks ahead, you too might be able to festoon your vehicle with that very phrase on a bumper sticker, or sport a similarly adorned T-shirt, and the profits will go to the classless Crockett. As the Washington Examiner’s Christopher Tremoglie observed: “At any other time in recent history, [this] would have caused outrage, especially within the LGBT community. Calling a female ‘butch’ and then having the audacity to file a trademark application using the term would have resulted in protests and demands to resign by the fanatical left-wing political activists plaguing this nation.”
  • Quantico update: Both individuals who attempted to breach Marine Corps Base Quantico in a box truck posing as Amazon delivery drivers early this month were Jordanian, and both were in the U.S. illegally. One of the men crossed into the country illegally over the southern border. The other Jordanian overstayed his student visa. Other than that, DHS notes that neither individual has a criminal history in the U.S. Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill blasted DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over the agency’s lack of clarity and transparency surrounding this potential terrorist incident. Senator Lindsey Graham sent a letter to Mayorkas asking, “Are either of them on any terrorist watchlist?” Congress has launched an investigation into what Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green called a “brazen attempt.” He warned, “The consequences of these potential national security threats running loose in our country will come back to haunt us.” Both Jordanians are in ICE custody.

Haley Finally Sort of Comes Around

The failed presidential candidate took one last swipe at Donald Trump before saying she’d vote for him over Joe Biden.

Douglas Andrews

Whew!

Ever since Wednesday, March 6, the political world has been on the edge of its seat. That was the day when Nikki Haley decided that a narrow victory in Vermont’s open primary wasn’t going to propel her to the Republican presidential nomination against Donald Trump — not when she got clobbered in each of the other 15 Super Tuesday contests.

At that point, the cause of many sleepless nights and the question on every pundit’s mind became, Will she or won’t she? Indeed, would the queen of the crossover Democrats and the Never-Trumpers now finally do her part, just as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis did when he bowed out, to unify the party and endorse Donald Trump?

Sadly, the answer was: No.

“I have no regrets,” Her Magnificence said at the time. “And although I will no longer be a candidate, I will not stop using my voice for the things I believe in.” Haley then challenged her vanquisher, saying that it’s now “his time for choosing,” and adding, “It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him.”

Then she went silent for the next 11 weeks, allowing desperate Joe Biden to panhandle for her voters. “Donald Trump made it clear he doesn’t want Nikki Haley’s supporters,” said Biden in a statement. “I want to be clear: There is a place for them in my campaign.”

Days turned to weeks, and the anticipation became all but unbearable until Wednesday, glorious Wednesday. On that day, the trumpets sounded, and she damned her party’s runaway standard-bearer with faint praise:

As a voter, I put my priorities on a president who’s going to have the backs of our allies and hold our enemies to account, who would secure the border, no more excuses. A president who would support capitalism and freedom, a president who understands we need less debt not more debt. Trump has not been perfect on these policies. I’ve made that clear, many, many times. But Biden has been a catastrophe. So, I will be voting for Trump.

And there it was. She said she’d vote for the candidate she’d called “unhinged,” the candidate she’d said was “not qualified” to be president.

To which Donald Trump likely said, “Nikki who?

What prompted Haley to finally speak? Perhaps her struggle for relevance. She hadn’t been heard from since March 6, and earlier this month, Trump made it clear that she wasn’t under consideration as his running mate. So, in response to being scorned, Haley comes out with this smug, narcissistic, back-handed non-endorsement. That’s the best she can do? That’s as magnanimous as she can be? This is how she tries to unify the party?

For comparison, this was Ron DeSantis on the day he dropped out of the race: “It’s clear to me that a majority of Republican primary voters want to give Donald Trump another chance. I signed a pledge to support the Republican nominee, and I will honor that pledge. He has my endorsement because we can’t go back to the old Republican guard of yesteryear, a repackaged form of warmed-over corporatism that Nikki Haley represents.”

Yesterday, Trump responded to Haley’s unhelpfully lukewarm non-endorsement: “I think she’s going to be on our team because we have a lot of the same ideas, the same thoughts,” he told News 12 New York. “I appreciated what she said. You know, we had a nasty campaign, it was pretty nasty. But she’s a very capable person, and I’m sure she’s going to be on our team in some form, absolutely.”

That sounds like a smart play from Trump. What could’ve been cause for a lashing out is instead a thoughtful and measured response aimed directly at the suburban women who may ultimately decide the presidency on November 5.

Elections Determine the Judiciary

Just as Donald Trump remade the judiciary during his term in office, Joe Biden is doing the same.

Brian Mark Weber

Everybody’s talking about the 2024 presidential election. Right now, though, the focus is on inflation, immigration, abortion, and protests on college campuses.

Those issues matter, but sometimes presidential appointees are more important than any policy or position, and judicial appointments are one of the most overlooked but critical decisions a president can make. Although Donald Trump has been out of office for nearly four years, the ripple effect of the judges he selected has helped to stem the tide of leftist activism to some degree. Likewise, however, Biden’s appointments today will also outlast his presidency.

NBC News reports, “The winners of the presidency and the Senate majority in the 2024 election will have the power to shape the courts for the next few years, and the two men have dramatically different criteria in choosing nominees.” You don’t say.

This exchange between Senator Ted Cruz and a Biden judicial appointee who put a 6’2″ male in a female prison because of preferred pronouns and hormone treatment will sufficiently illustrate what’s at stake.

Although Trump didn’t place as many judges on the federal bench as his predecessor, Barack Obama, his appointments were noteworthy. At the end of Trump’s presidency, according to Pew Research, “There were 816 active judges serving across the three main tiers of the federal court system: the Supreme Court, 13 regional appeals courts and 91 district courts governed by Article III of the U.S. Constitution. Trump appointed 28% of those judges. That includes three of the nine sitting Supreme Court justices, 30% of the nation’s active appeals court judges and 27% of active district court judges.”

While these numbers make it seem like conservatives are making inroads, the Biden administration is moving at breakneck speed to fill even more vacancies than Trump.

“Confirming more than 234 judges — the number confirmed during Trump’s presidency — with lifetime appointments would provide Biden with the type of governing imprint that Trump, should he win in November, could not erase,” Politico excitedly reports, adding, “If Democrats can exceed 234 judges, they will have replaced about one-quarter of the federal judiciary and with an unprecedented level of diversity on the bench.”

We certainly hope Biden won’t be in the Oval Office next January 21, but these appointments will still help thwart Trump’s agenda should he win the election on November 5.

The most important judicial selection, of course, is that of a Supreme Court justice. Roe v. Wade and affirmative action in college admissions are gone, thanks to Donald Trump’s three High Court appointments, and reducing regulatory power is on the table this year. Currently, conservative-leaning justices hold a 6-3 edge, but Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito are in their 70s, while John Roberts and Sonia Sotomayor are knocking on the door at age 69, so it’s possible the next president may need to appoint multiple replacements.

The mere idea that another Trump term might lead to an even greater conservative majority on the High Court worries people like former Obama adviser Dan Pfeiffer.

Pfeiffer observed, “Republicans who did not like Trump, at the last minute, were willing to hold their nose and vote for Trump because they care about the Supreme Court. So, I think we can do that in reverse.”

Unless there’s an unexpected vacancy in the coming months, that strategy will not likely pay off. But that won’t stop Democrats from scheming to influence the process.

Since the New Deal, Democrats have salivated over the idea of packing the Supreme Court. While they haven’t let that one go, more recent tactics include pushing for term limits, threatening to add more justices to lower courts, and drumming up public support to force conservative justices to recuse themselves.

Sometimes, they just abuse the process altogether. For example, before 2017, Judiciary Committee chairs wouldn’t move judicial nominees through the process unless both of the U.S. senators from the nominee’s state agreed. It was more of a long-honored tradition than a requirement, but Democrats turned it into a makeshift filibuster to block Republican nominations during Trump’s presidency, and it was ultimately discontinued.

Now, fearful of Trump’s return, Senator Judiciary Chair Dick Durbin seeks to restore the practice before the November presidential election. Even some Republicans support Durbin’s move to make the process less political. It will be interesting to see whether the majority party keeps it in place if reinstated.

For now, Biden keeps rushing to fill empty spots with nominees loyal to his radical agenda. CBS News reports that while Biden has now outpaced the number of Trump’s appointments, “surpassing the 234 judges Trump named to the federal bench during his first and sole term may be difficult given the Senate’s schedule in the run-up to the November election, since several Democratic senators in states won by Trump in 2020 are working to hold on to their seats and are likely to spend the coming months on the campaign trail.”

The big takeaway, then, is that choosing a president goes far beyond the immediate politics of the day. Our votes matter, and the person we choose to lead the nation will affect our lives for years to come.

Cognitive Dissonance in Germany

On the one hand, Germans reject transgenderism for minors. On the other, they decriminalize possession of child porn.

Emmy Griffin

Germany is the birthplace of Lutheranism and, as UK Anglican priest Father Calvin Robinson points out, all the heresy. The German people, the German Protestant Church, and the German Roman Catholic Church are struggling mightily against the heresy of the LGBTQ+ agenda (which contradicts explicit teaching from the Bible) and particularly the transgender agenda (which is also a Marxist version of gnostic dualism).

There is a glimmer of hope, though, for Germany. Medical professionals there gathered and put “gender-affirming care” for minors up for a vote. Overwhelmingly, the delegates — who represent all the medical organizations in Germany — voted against it for minors struggling with gender confusion. That means German children are now protected from the scientific experimentation of bad actors and activist medical professionals who are giving them puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and gender mutilation surgeries.

They also voted against “self ID” — i.e., minors are not allowed to self-identify as an incorrect gender unless they have the okay from a psychiatric diagnosis. Could this be a tacit admission that transgenderism is a mental illness?

Sadly for Germans, though, this all seems to be one step forward and two steps back. As their medical assemblies display some common sense, the government just decriminalized child porn possession and distribution.

Possession of child pornography had been a felony in Germany since 2021 but has been downgraded to a misdemeanor with a minimum sentence of three months prison time for possession and six months for distribution. This was seen as a big win for a pro-pedophile lobbying group that is pushing to get the age of consent lowered to 12.

It is truly a sick and sad day for Germany when an openly pedophilic group is allowed to hold sway over decisions that affect an entire country. These people are perverted and depraved, willing to prey on the most vulnerable for their own pleasure and power.

On X, this story is slapped with a Community Note saying that the downgrade was intended to protect good people who were reporting possession by another person or perhaps had confiscated it as evidence when turning that person in.

That is decidedly untrue. If that were the case, it would have been easy to stipulate that exception in the law without reducing charges and associated penalties. News and opinion magazine Reduxx not only eviscerated this particular Community Note but also exposed that the poster was associated with the German government trying to spin this.

So Germany’s governing bodies are okay with the predation of children via child porn by not prosecuting with any real consequence those who exploit them while the medical associations are no longer exploiting children with “gender-affirming care”? This is an exchange of one form of exploitation and depravity for another, and it’s morally backward.

Germany, like many Western countries, sees only consent and expert advice as the rule by which to live. Exploitation of the vulnerable at any level is a sin. But leftists have abandoned the idea of individual sin and replaced it with the assertion that broader society as a whole is to blame for individual woes. As political pundit Ben Shapiro perfectly put it: “That is the basic Left-wing theology when it comes to curing the sin of the world, considering sin does not abide at the level of the individual; sin only abides at the level of the society. It is the Marxist materialist idea that the only reason people are bad is because the systems under which they live are inherently bad and corrupt, and therefore, if we can cure those systems, then humanity will be magically and absolutely transformed.”

That’s why Germany or any country led by the Left cannot have any sort of moral clarity. That’s why there is cognitive dissonance.

Profiles of Valor: Farewell Col Bud Anderson (USAF)

Blue skies and tailwinds to the last member of the World War II Triple Ace Club.

Mark Alexander

The nose art “Old Crow” on iconic P-51 Mustangs flying at air shows today is immediately recognizable by aviation enthusiasts and historians as the name then-Capt Clarence “Bud” Anderson gave to all the planes he flew during his 30-year military career. In the European Theater during World War II, that would include his P-39 with the 363rd Fighter Squadron, three P-51Bs for combat tours with the 357th Fighter Group, and his 357th Fighter Group P-51D. In Vietnam, Bud flew combat missions in his “Old Crow II” F-105D as commander of the 355th TFW at Takhli Royal Thai AFB, Thailand.

Bud was a farm boy raised in New Castle, California, by teetotaling parents, so in some circles, he said “Old Crow” referenced “the smartest bird in the sky,” but all who knew him understood it was the brand of the cheapest Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey available at the time, his favorite.

When Bud was seven, his father arranged his first ride — it was in an open-cockpit Stearman PT-17 biplane. He was hooked. He learned to fly in 1941, his first year in college. But prompted by the attack on Pearl Harbor, in January 1942, he enlisted with the U.S. Army Air Forces, earning his wings in September.

Ahead of D-Day, he deployed to Europe, where he would serve two tours, primarily escorting and defending heavy bombers against the Nazi Luftwaffe. He flew his first mission in February of ‘44 and earned his first confirmed kill on March 8, a Messerschmitt Bf 109 that was attacking an ailing B-17 Flying Fortress. He recalled: “We were heading home, three or four guys, with [1st Lt. John England] along with us. We saw a Boeing B-17 below us, smoking, so we were headed over there when three Messerschmitt 109s came up. They didn’t even see us. We cut them off at the pass, and I saw one and said, ‘This one’s mine.’ I wanted one bad.”

As the two engaged in concentric circles, Bud says: “It’s hard to get a shot in at 90 degrees. I was pulling a lot of Gs. I fired blind, and when he next came in view, black smoke was coming out — I got him in the coolant system. He went up and bailed out.” Bud’s wingman declared: “Best shooting I’ve ever seen in my life! He hit that son of a b***h out there at over 40 degrees!”

His second Bf 109 kill was a month later, along with a Heinkel He 111 heavy bomber. His fifth shoot-down was another Bf 109 over Frankfurt on May 12, making Bud an Ace. In the next two weeks, he took down three more enemy aircraft and, in June, shot down three Focke-Wulf Fw 190s, confirming him as a Double Ace. He scored his 12th kill in July and then took some much-needed R&R. Returning to the 357th in November, over the next 45 days, he shot down four more Fw 190s, becoming a Triple Ace plus one.

Notably, he became close friends with renowned fighter and test pilot Chuck Yeager, who also flew P-51s with the 357th. As he and Chuck were joy-flying over Switzerland in January 1945, he lamented missing out on a big day in the sky: “When I learned that while we were joyriding over the Alps, the rest of the 357th had scored a one-day record of 56.5 shoot-downs, I got sick!”

Yeager would write later, “On the ground, he was the nicest person you’d ever know, but in the sky, those damned Germans must’ve thought they were up against Frankenstein or the Wolfman; [Bud] would hammer them into the ground, dive with them into the damned grave, if necessary, to destroy them.” He added, “Bud was the best fighter pilot I’ve ever seen.”

Bud flew a total of 116 combat missions totaling 480 hours without ever taking a hit. But of the 28 pilots who deployed with him in Europe, half were either killed or became POWs by the end of the war. He lamented: “You come home and there’s an empty bunk over there at night. Each guy had to figure out how to cope with that. Some guys just could pull the shade down and ignore it. Some people would not make friends — close friends — because of it.”

He was promoted to Major at the end of his second tour, and the 357th FG was credited with 609 enemy aircraft kills, producing 42 Aces — more than any other fighter group, with Bud Anderson leading the pack. Bud talks about his combat missions here.

For the record, 1,283 American pilots became fighter Aces during World War II. That would include famed Medal of Honor recipient Marine Maj Joe Foss. He matched the 26 kill record held by America’s top World War I ace, Eddie Rickenbacker, who was an inspiration for Bud Anderson. Foss became America’s first “ace-of-aces” in World War II.

After World War II, Bud married his sweetheart Eleanor Cosby, and they were together for 70 years until her death in 2015.

He served with many Air Force commands, including command of an F-86 squadron during the Korean War, concluding his combat tour in Vietnam commanding the 355th TFW. He retired in 1972 as a Colonel and logged more than 7,500 hours in more than 100 types of aircraft over the course of his career. He then had a second career as a manager with the McDonnell Aircraft Company’s Flight Test Facility at Edwards AFB until 1998.

Among his military decorations are the Legion of Merit (2), Distinguished Flying Cross (5), Bronze Star Medal, and Air Medal (16). His first Distinguished Flying Cross citation notes: “For extraordinary achievement and heroism in aerial combat and the destruction of three enemy airplanes over enemy occupied Continental Europe. The skillful and zealous manner in which Captain Anderson has sought out the enemy and destroyed him, his devotion to duty and courage under all conditions serve as an inspiration to his fellow flyers. His actions on all these occasions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.”

In 2022, on his 100th birthday, Bud Anderson was promoted to the honorary rank of Brigadier General by Air Force Chief of Staff Gen Charles Brown.

This week, Bud took off for the last time, after 102 years of life. He is remembered fondly by all who knew him for his infectious enthusiasm, determination, and optimism.

An inscribed copy of his 1990 memoir, To Fly and Fight: Memoirs of a Triple Ace, sits next to me as a source for this tribute. When contemplating the heroic service of such men, it is always a blessing to have an abundance of their own words.

Bud Anderson: Your example of valor — a humble American Patriot defending Liberty for all above and beyond the call of duty, and in disregard for the peril to your own life — is eternal. Blue skies and tailwinds, sir, ceiling and visibility unlimited! We are humbled by your service, and lifting up your family in prayer.

This upcoming Memorial Day, as Ronald Reagan noted in a Memorial Day address four decades ago, “Let us pledge that their lives, their sacrifices, their valor shall be justified and remembered for as long as God gives life to this nation.”

“Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one’s life for his friends.” (John 15:13)

REPORT: Putin Wants to End Ukranian War Along Current Lines, Plans to ‘Sell Victory’ to Russian People | The Gateway Pundit

Russian President Vladimir Putin wants a ceasefire in Ukraine along current battle lines, according to a report from Reuters on Friday.

However, the Russian leader is willing to continue fighting if the West rejects his attempts to broker a ceasefire agreement.

Reuters reports:

Three of the sources, familiar with discussions in Putin’s entourage, said the veteran Russian leader had expressed frustration to a small group of advisers about what he views as Western-backed attempts to stymie negotiations and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s decision to rule out talks.

“Putin can fight for as long as it takes, but Putin is also ready for a ceasefire – to freeze the war,” said another of the four, a senior Russian source who has worked with Putin and has knowledge of top-level conversations in the Kremlin.

The appointment last week of economist Andrei Belousov as Russia’s defence minister was seen by some Western military and political analysts as placing the Russian economy on a permanent war footing in order to win a protracted conflict.

It followed sustained battlefield pressure and territorial advances by Russia in recent weeks. However, the sources said that Putin, re-elected in March for a new six-year term, would rather use Russia’s current momentum to put the war behind him.

They did not directly comment on the new defence minister. Based on their knowledge of conversations in the upper ranks of the Kremlin, two of the sources said Putin was of the view that gains in the war so far were enough to sell a victory to the Russian people.

However, any ceasefire agreement will likely need the backing of the United States. A State Department spokesperson said that any peace agreement must respect “territorial integrity, within its internationally recognised borders.”

“The Kremlin has yet to demonstrate any meaningful interest in ending its war, quite the opposite,” the spokesperson said.

Last month, Congress approved over $60 billion in military aid to Ukraine as it seeks to prolong the war between the two sides despite the risk of escalation between the world’s leading nuclear powers.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sent a delegation to Washington this week to demand that the Biden regime reverse a ban on the firing of U.S. missiles on Russian territory. Ukrainian MP David Arahamiya, who led the delegation, said the request came directly from the country’s military generals.

“It’s like if somebody were to attack Washington, D.C., from the Virginia state, and you say we’re not going to hit Virginia for some reason,” he said. “It’s crazy. Military people, like generals, they don’t understand. So they are pushing us as politicians, like stop [the policy] this is insane.”

Victor Davis Hanson: Biden’s Record ‘Indefensible’ | The Gateway Pundit

Asks if Americans finally have ‘had it’ with Scranton Joe

Victor Davis Hanson is a name that draws both recognition and respect.

He’s an American classicist, military historian and political commentator. While he often adopts conservative perspectives, his work has been acknowledged, and used, by leftist publications include the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and more. His style is markedly reserved, and he seldom throws “bombs” in his writing.

He’s the Martin and Illie Anderson senior fellow in resident in classics and military history at the Hoover Institution, and a professor at California State-Fresno.

But now he’s written at FrontPageMag questioning whether Americans finally have “had it” with Joe Biden.

He explains Biden’s approval ratings are at historic lows, he trails President Donald Trump in most of the swing states, and “now he lies serially even to sympathetic interviewers. In short, finally Biden has been exposed for what he always was and represented.”

That would be, he said, a “sort of a buffoon. He is by nature a grandstander who handsomely profited from his office while posing as good ole Joe from Scranton.”

But he’s really a “a blowhard meddler, one who proverbially has been ‘wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades (Robert Gates),’ from dissenting on the Bin Laden raid to his trisection of Iraq scheme.”

Hanson points out Biden routinely misleads people – he’s repeatedly and wildly claimed that inflation was 9% when he took office. It was 1.4%.

He slurs people, calling them “semi-fascists,” “fat” and “lying dog-faced pony soldiers,” among the nicer.

“He is a confessed plagiarist. And he has also invented much of his biography, from would be star, college-scholarship athlete and brilliant law student to semi-truck driver and jailed civil rights activist. His uncle, we are instructed, was eaten by cannibals. Joe assures us that he was the first in his family to go to college,” Hanson wrote.

His racism, “boy,” “you ain’t black,” “Put y’all back in chains,” never is far below the surface.

“Biden has always had a mean streak that explains why for years he lied about the tragic, fatal auto accident of his first wife and child, using it to libel the truck driver, who was neither drunk nor culpable but smeared publicly for years by Biden as intoxicated and guilty. For years he ignored the pleas of the trucker’s family to please stop libeling an innocent driver,” he said.

A change came about recently, though, he said.

“Biden has reached a nadir and even the Left is resigned to him as a mere construct. After bragging after October 7 that his support for Israel was rock-solid he is now cutting off military aid as it attempts finally to end the Hamas murderous threat—a reversion to old Joe Biden who in his long past has previously threatened to cut off Israel while boasting later that anyone who did so was reprehensible. (Leveraging congressional mandated aid for political advantage is precisely the (false) allegation of politicking that the Democrats demagogued to impeach Trump—to the then cheers of Biden himself),” Hanson said.

So he’s a sellout on Israel, he’s drawing down the strategic petroleum reserve to lower gas prices – specifically to enhance his election changes, “he has illegally forgiven billions in student loan aid to regain the elite youth vote. And as the campaign season begins, so too Biden suddenly poses as a border enforcer—after letting in nearly 10-million illegal aliens.”

The Biden family’s lucrative schemes, including Hunter Biden’s “Burisma skullduggery,” shows he always puts his own interests ahead of the nation’s.

And then there’s the creepy: “Any other major politician who habitually invaded the private space of women and preteens to blow on their hair, gobble their necks, squeeze and hug far too long, and be accused of sexual assault would have long since been cancelled by the left,” he said.

“Add the old disturbing narrative of a naked Vice President Joe Biden exiting his pool in front of female secret service agents, the showering with his pre-teen daughter, the Frank Biden and Hunter naked selfies, and there seems something eerie among the Biden family.”

And Hanson blames Biden for the “entire lawfare scheme directed at Trump.”

He concluded, “If Biden makes it to and through the convention, he and his record remain indefensible. And so expect his campaign largely to be waged through lawfare against Trump, and massive infusions of leftist cash to ensure record mail-in and early voting.”

Is mental health a myth? Why Big Pharma may be profiting off drugs that hurt more than help | Conservative Review

Dr. John MacArthur is an American pastor, author of the new book “The War on Children” — and a man who doesn’t believe common mental diagnoses are real.

MacArthur had recently gone viral on X, formerly known as Twitter, for his comments on the latter.

“There’s no such thing as PTSD, there’s no such thing as OCD, there’s no such thing as ADHD. Those are noble lies to basically give the excuse to, in the end of the day, to medicate people,” MacArthur said in the viral clip, adding, “And Big Pharma is in charge of a lot of that.”

While he’s faced severe backlash on social media from Christians who claim this thinking is dangerous, he explains to Allie Beth Stuckey why he said what he said.

“The brain can be sick. The brain can be damaged. You can have a tumor. You can have encephalitis. You can have a brain problem,” MacArthur tells Stuckey. “The mind is something completely different. The mind is transcendent. You can’t fix the mind with a chemical. You can wound the brain. And that’s what’s coming out now in psychiatry.”

According to MacArthur, the idea that a medication could fix “the chemical imbalance” in your brain was “a useful lie” all along.

“Is there post-traumatic stress? Of course. Is it a brain syndrome? No. Is there ADHD? Are there kids who have trouble paying attention, trouble sitting still? Yeah, I was one of them. Is it a brain problem? No. What about obsessive compulsive problems, is that a brain disorder? No,” MacArthur explains.

“The culture’s bent is to say, ‘Hey, it’s not your fault, it’s not your fault, you’ve got a disorder,’” he continues. “PTSD is really grief. It’s horrendous grief. It’s survival guilt. It’s having watched your buddies blown to pieces. You got to deal with that grief. But putting a chemical into your body that will alter your brain, that’s what’s becoming the issue now.”

“If you want to solve your mind problems, you’ve got to find love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control. Those are spiritual virtues that are available in Christ. Don’t turn to chemicals. Turn to Christ,” MacArthur says.

Stuckey isn’t one of his critics.

“We’ve had psychiatrists on the show say the same thing that you said, by the way, that actually we are causing a lot of harm, especially to children by diagnosing or medicalizing every single behavior that doesn’t fit perfectly into a classroom or doesn’t fall in line with this uniform range of normal.”

“It is actually causing side effects in these kids, in these veterans that actually make it worse than what they were dealing with before,” she comments.

What Luck! Biden Finds Prewritten Answer To A Completely Spontaneous Press Question Right On His Note Card | Babylon Bee

Article Image

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Biden appeared visibly overwhelmed Thursday during an impromptu on-the-record press gaggle until he noticed the answer to a reporter’s completely spontaneous, definitely unplanned-in-advance question was pre-written on his note card.

How fortunate!

“I don’t know who — what does that even mean?” Biden initially muttered before noticing the answer to the question was written out for him on a little piece of paper. “Wait, yes. Yes, I can answer your question!”

Biden’s speech slowed as he read carefully from the notecard: “This is America. I’m calling on all billionaires to pay their fair share. It’s common sen… se… uh… well, anyway…”

Although Biden still bungled the prewritten answer to the question, the reporter was kind enough to give him a do-over. According to White House policy, the president gets up to three do-overs per press gaggle.

Biden then read the answer slowly, one word at a time, just like Mrs. Cunningham had taught him in first grade. Upon his successful answer, the press pool erupted in applause.

“It’s almost like this is a magic fortune-telling notecard,” Biden muttered, his eyes wide with astonishment. “Where did this even come from?”

White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients was spotted looking upon the scene with a knowing nod of pride.

At publishing time, President Biden signed an executive order to find out where his notecards were coming from and whether those elves that snuck in at night to fix shoes were responsible.

Dominoes Are Falling | Study – Grow – Know

Several things are occurring throughout global society that are possibly causing globalists’ hearts to skip a few beats. However, I’m sure they have back up plans in case something goes wrong. Let’s remember their overall plan is to completely overwhelm society with many things at the same time, not merely one or two things. They will succeed in bringing to ruin what currently exists now, in order to replace it with what they see in its place. So, many irons in the fire will do the work that globalists need in order to completely alter society to their liking. Unfortunately, a good percentage of the population will go along with globalist endeavors. So even in discussing some of the things that are bound to fail, this does not mean that globalists are tossing in the towel. They have too much to lose for that and they’ll simply shore up other areas as well as introduce new problems.

One of those things  that’s failing is the fact that DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion), is losing ground in a number of higher institutions of learning. Most recently, MIT nixed their diversity, equity and inclusion statement saying simply, “they don’t work.”[1] There’s a big “duh” if ever there was one, but it’s good that those in the upper echelon of education are beginning to admit it. Must be hard for them though…

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology will no longer require prospective hires to pledge allegiance to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion as an employment condition, becoming the first elite university in the country to do away with the controversial practice denounced by free speech advocates as a “political litmus test.”

In essence, diversityequity and inclusion is little more than reverse discrimination against white people (or what is commonly known as “anti-white racism”). DEI places people of color or those of non-binary genders (people not specifically self-identified as either male or female), at the head of the line solely because they are different from what has always been the norm. So whether they are fully qualified for a particular position or not, they are often appointed to that giving the appearance of “fairness” and “inclusion.”

Someone has said that DEI is nothing more than “Didn’t Earn It” and that appears to be the case in a nutshell. Someone may be very qualified for a position they seek but is passed over to select a person of color and not necessarily male, whether they are fully qualified or not, to fill that position. There is no real strength in DEI because it is built on a house of cards. It is a delusion, a mask that makes people believe a person is qualified for something when in point of fact, they may often not at all qualified to be in a certain position. They may be “non-binary” or “gay” or some other aspect of LGBTQ+ etc., so on paper, things may look great and relevant. However, where the rubber meets the road, many of the folks who are being uploaded into positions of authority do not fully possess the qualifications needed to fully embrace their granted position.

All of this is an effort to color the way society appears regardless of whether or not it continues to run well, based on the artificial settings of DEI. The idea that society must kowtow to people who may or may not be qualified for some particular position is nuts, in just the way that society is now supposed to accept transgenderism as normal and healthy. In fact, Peru has just acknowledged that transgenderism is a mental disorder.[2] This is exactly what it is and it needs to be stated repeatedly, so that those folks can get the help they clearly need. Instead, we are told we should cater to and appreciate transgender’s perspective. If they see themselves as a female (though they are a biological male), we should support their view. If they see themselves as a cat, we should support that as well. It’s heavy handed absurdity based on lies, but appears to have some sense of altruism.

The truth is that all of this plays into the realm of industrial level stupidity that promotes lies all based on a person’s mindset about themselves. Society is then forced to partner with the lies people tell themselves and expected to prop up those lies for mentally challenged people. It’s the “loving” thing to do we are told. No, it’s not. It’s the demonic thing to do because it supports lies. That’s what Satan and his demons do. It is not what God does. God shines the light on lies to out them and to eliminate them. Satan casts shadows over lies to hide them from truth.

9The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, 10and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. 11For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, 12in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)

The world is being thoroughly primed to live fully within the realm of lies. Truth is being offloaded and completely exchanged for lies. As the biblical text above states, this is so because people by and large “refused the love of the truth that would have saved them” (v10). The next verse tells us that because of this love for falsehoods that “God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness” (v11).

All of this, whether DEI, transgenderism or even mass migration – is all designed as a color revolution to completely destroy the fabric of American society and truth itself. The USA can then be rebuilt from what remains. It is imperative the old must be fully uprooted and destroyed replaced with Satan’s/Schwab’s Bizzaro Great Reset World. It is just one reason why so many young, single, military-age men are gaining admission into America through our open southern border as I’ve mentioned in my last article.

Another thing that’s occurring is the fact that more and more information is coming out regarding the mRNA jab that has caused and will continue to cause major health problems including deaths in people. In fact, Japan’s most senior cancer doctor has recently come out with his own opinion stating just how egregious he believes the C0V jab is to the public and that it should never have been given at all.[3] In essence, Dr. Masanori Fukushima has stated that the jab is equivalent to murder.

Yet, the tragedy is that people continue to believe the jab is worthwhile, with non-scientist, non-doctor Bill Gates stating vaccines in general have saved multitudes of lives without offering any proof of his claims. People like Dr. Peter McCullough fully disagree with him on this and even explain how the tremendous increase in childhood vaccines over the years has likely given rise to autism and many other issues.

World-renowned cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough recently reported that “five studies now show” that “children who take no vaccines” are “healthier than the kids who take the vaccines.”

He says unvaccinated kids have lower rates of:

• Food allergies
• Peanut allergies
• Asthma
• Allergic dermatitis
• Need for tympanostomy tubes
• Attention deficit disorder
• Asperger’s disease
• Autism spectrum disorder

“Massive, excessive vaccination is likely harming our children today.”[4]

The plain fact of the matter is that in the case of the C0V jab at least, not only did it not do what had been promised (keep people from contracting and spreading CV), but it also came loaded with a massive payload of problematic adverse effects. These adverse effects include death that most in authority continue to ignore.

The fact that the C0V jab contains DNA, self-assembling lipid nanoparticles and a host of other things that are harmful to human beings belies the fact that it should not have been released to the public and it certainly should not have been mandated on pain of loss of job. Yet, it was mandated, literally forced on people and now we are seeing the deadly results of it with all forms of heart ailments, strokes, turbo cancers and deaths occurring in all age groups, including the very young.

(Dr. Masanori Fukushima said regarding the C0V jab)…There were problems, moreover, with the very technology used to administer the mRNA – the lipid nanoparticles – that the doctor said result in “off-target effects” on various organs, including the ovaries, brain, liver, and bone marrow.

Worse, the spike proteins produced by the mRNA have been detected in the human body more than a year after the administration of the COVID shot, noted the oncologist, indicating “a severe problem.”

However, in spite of this new information from a top Japanese doctor and scientist, the mainstream media remains silent on the problems associated with the jab. Even though certain people like Chris Cuomo and others are now coming out admitting that they have experienced adverse events due to the jab, the overall problem is still being largely ignored. They are giving us what they believe to be just enough without going full steam ahead. They want us to simply sigh with great relief that they finally “see the light” and we should be grateful for that. However, the truth of the matter is that in many ways, these people still seem to be playing a game. They want the best of both worlds. They want the world to forget that they condemned those who refused the jab as “anti-vaxxers” and even in many cases, wanted their deaths. They ridiculed those who refused to take the jab as fear-mongering conspiracy theorists who should be forced to the very outer edges of society. Now, though they appear to be coming around, they want those they ridiculed and vehemently maligned to embrace their newfound understanding and to even feel empathy for their situation.

What I’m not saying is that we should all hold a grudge. I’m not saying that at all. I am simply saying that we need to exercise wisdom and restraint here. These people do what they can to gain sympathy from those they swore to push away. It kind of reminds me of the Pharisees during Jesus’ day. They lived to try to trick Him at every turn. He never fell for it because He was always very aware of what drove them. This is what we need to do. On one hand, yes, we can be glad they are beginning to see the reality. However, we also need to ask how far will they go here? Is their recent admission all for show? Is it for some other purpose altogether?

In yet, another related situation, it turns out that more and more people are realizing the efficacy of Ivermectin in treating not only viruses like C0V, but quite possibly in treating cancers as well. Of course, Big Pharma is ignoring this potentiality and instead going with their latest product, a mRNA cancer vaccine, which will likely pick up where C0V mRNA jab left off.

More and more doctors are coming out heralding the possibilities of Ivermectin as a potent cancer treatment.[5] What is fascinating is how well Ivermectin appears to be dealing with tumors and cancers.

Cancer surgeon Dr. Kathleen Ruddy has seen several late-stage cancer patients make dramatic recoveries after taking ivermectin.

One patient had a grim future, and then something remarkable happened. This man had stage four prostate cancer and tried all the conventional protocols before doctors told him that there was nothing they could do.

Then, he started taking ivermectin…

Within six months, the metastatic lesions began to disappear, and in less than a year, “he was out dancing for four hours” three nights per week, according to Dr. Ruddy.

I’m reading more and more articles about this from other doctors. Yet, we personally know at least four people who are all suffering from cancers who are either undergoing chemotherapy or have had it and it had little to no effect. All of the people we personally know who are dealing with cancers are all jabbed. Is that a coincidence or is there a possible connection? Few seem to want to go there to make any determination.

In one more blow to sovereignty over those who held our health at bay, the “U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) accepted the Select Subcommittee’s recommendation to formally debar EcoHealth Alliance, Inc. (EcoHealth). HHS will immediately commence official debarment proceedings and implement a government-wide suspension of U.S. taxpayer funds to EcoHealth — including a hold on all active grants.

What this means is that Dr. Peter Daszak will hopefully, never receive another tax payer dime for his “research” related to anything to do with health for human beings. The only unfortunate part of this is that Dr. Anthony Fauci may be let off the hook because of it.

And so it goes. We seem to be fast approaching a future tipping point where we will no longer be able to return to any sense of normalcy. The things mentioned in this article only scratch the surface. We’ve got other things happening as well, like the specific things that Britt Gillette mentions related to the potential economic crash that’s mere months away.[6]

I’ll leave you with this thought that is oft-repeated by Tom Hughes. He notes that Jesus said when we see things begin to happen (that He warned us of), then instead of being discouraged, we should literally start to look up because our redemption draws near (Luke 21:8-28). The apostle Paul alludes to this same type of thing in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11.

1 Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

4 But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5 You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

There is zero point in encouraging one another of His soon return to take His Bride home before the coming Tribulation if that is not supposed to occur. On that note, Dr. Thomas Constable states, “This sure hope is a sound basis for mutual encouragement and edification among believers. Not only can we comfort one another when believers die (4:18), but we can also strengthen one another while we live. ‘For the truth that the church is destined for rescue from the woes of the Tribulation, no passage has more to offer to exegetical scrutiny than does 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11.’”

So folks, certainly, we should be aware of what globalists via Satan is attempting to accomplish in this world. Bird Flu is coming and they’re saying will be 10 times worse than CV apparently. We are supposed to be very afraid. I’m not. Are you?

Know what the enemy is planning, because it makes sense to understand be aware of it. However, we should not dwell on it nor should we allow fear to rise within us because of it. We should continue instead to look heavenward for that moment of our release from this life. If we approach life in this way, we will be better able to witness to those who are lost in this world because we will not be so concerned about our own future, but theirs.

Understanding where we are on God’s prophetic timeline should create within us the desired responsibility to live for Him and not become so wrapped up in the things in life that globalists are using in their mighty attempt to conform us to their (and Satan’s), will. Notice it. Understand it, but do not comply with it.

Majority of Americans Think US Economy Is in Recession and Shrinking, Poll Finds | The Daily Signal

A majority of Americans believe that the U.S. is currently in a recession, blaming the Biden administration for harsh economic conditions, according to research firm The Harris Poll.

Around 56% of people surveyed thought that the U.S. economy was in recession, and 55% thought that the economy was shrinking, according to a poll conducted for The Guardian. U.S. gross domestic product rose just 1.6% in the first quarter of 2024, down substantially from the 3.4% and 4.9% growth rates seen in the fourth and third quarters of 2023, respectively.

dailycallerlogo

“What Americans are saying in this data is: ‘Economists may say things are getting better, but we’re not feeling it where I live,’” John Gerzema, CEO of the Harris Poll, told The Guardian. “Unwinding four years of uncertainty takes time. Leaders have to understand this and bring the public along.”

Nearly three-fifths of those polled blamed mismanagement from the Biden administration for the current poor state of the economy, and around 72% think that inflation is increasing, according to the survey.

The rate of inflation decreased slightly to 3.4% in April from 3.5% in the previous month, far higher than the Federal Reserve’s target of 2%. Prices have risen a total of 19.3% since Biden first took office in January 2021.

Around 49% of those surveyed responded that they thought unemployment was at a 50-year high even though the official rate remains below 4%, according to the poll. Despite the low unemployment rate, job gains over the past year have been propelled by additions in government employment, part-time positions and foreign-born populations, boosting employment counts.

President Joe Biden has sought to deflect blame for rising inflation away from his administration, arguing that it is actually corporate greed that is hiking prices. The Federal Reserve Board of San Francisco disproved that claim by pointing out that corporate markups are not greater than during other economic recoveries where huge surges of inflation were not present.

Many economists point to huge levels of government deficit spending for the persistent inflation that has tainted Americans’ views of the economy. Under Biden, the national debt has risen to nearly $34.6 trillion, according to the Treasury Department.

The poll collected responses from 2,119 adults between May 10 and 12.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Democrats Promise There’s No Way A Person Who Entered The Country Illegally Would Ever Vote Illegally | Babyon Bee

Article Image

WASHINGTON, DC — Democrats assured the American people this week there’s no way people who entered the country illegally would ever engage in other illegal activities like, say, voting.

“Nope, these guys are just ‘one and done’ law-breakers,” Representative Jamaal Bowman told the press. “There’s no way they’d ever try to do anything else illegal like voting in an election. And anyway, our elections are air-tight. There’s absolutely no way to vote illegally, except for the 30 ways I can think of right now off the top of my head…”

Democrats have railed against Republicans in recent weeks after prominent members of the GOP called for stricter voting rules and mandatory voter IDs. Republicans worry the influx of illegal immigrants at the border could lead to a wave of illegal voting, something Democrats maintain never happens because people who come to the country illegally would never try to do anything else illegal…ever.

“These brave men and women who come to our country are just looking for a new life and possible to vote as a bloc against fascist Republicans but they can’t…I mean…it says right in our law books that it’s illegal!” Bowman explained. “But also, ID’s are racist, election integrity is racist, and accusing illegal immigrants-I mean, immigration-impacted individuals, of trying to vote illegally is most definitely racist.”

As of publishing time, 300,000 additional voters were registered in Texas in the past four hours under totally not suspicious circumstances.

Up to 2.7 Million Noncitizens Could Vote Illegally in November, Study Warns | The Daily Signal

A new study has revealed that roughly 10% to 27% of noncitizens living in the U.S. are illicitly registered to vote, which could result in up to 2.7 million illegal votes being cast in the November elections.

Experts say the significant amount of potential illegal votes could be enough to alter election results.

The study, released last week by the research institute Just Facts, notes that the 2022 U.S. census recorded approximately 19 million adult noncitizens living in the country. “Given their voter registration rates, this means that about 2 million to 5 million of them are illegally registered to vote,” the report observes. “These figures are potentially high enough to overturn the will of the American people in major elections, including congressional seats and the presidency.”

On Tuesday, James Agresti, president of Just Facts, joined “Washington Watch” to discuss the scope of noncitizens casting ballots and the implications of the study’s findings.

“[T]here are very broad openings for noncitizens to vote,” he explained, adding:

In no state in the nation are they required to provide proof of U.S. citizenship in order to register to vote. Now, a couple of states like Arizona tried to enact that requirement, but they were blocked by a court ruling supported by the Obama administration.

And if you look at the federal voter-registration form, it says you can submit all different forms of ID to register. That could be a Social Security number; it could be a driver’s license number; or it could just be a utility bill.

I mean, these are things that anyone can get by living here. They do not prove you’re a U.S. citizen.

And more than that, a lot of noncitizens have faked Social Security numbers, especially illegal immigrants. That’s what they do to work. A recent estimate by the Social Security Administration tallied 2.5 million noncitizens who had Social Security numbers gained by using fake birth certificates or stealing those numbers from somebody else.

Hans von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow at The Heritage Foundation and board member of the Public Interest Legal Foundation, concurred. (Heritage founded The Daily Signal in 2014.)

“[T]he problem is, states aren’t doing very much to verify citizenship, so it’s extremely easy for someone who’s not a citizen to register to vote and to vote in elections,” he remarked during Monday’s edition of “Washington Watch.”

“And when that is discovered, oftentimes nothing is done about it.”

Agresti went on to point out the effect that lax enforcement of citizen verification could have in November. “[B]ased on the latest available data, approximately 1 million to 2.7 million noncitizens are going to vote in the upcoming presidential election unless something changes. And that is more than enough to tip the results of congressional races, Senate races, and yes, the U.S. presidency.”

Von Spakovsky echoed Agresti’s concerns. “[I]t doesn’t matter whether they’re black or white, Asian or Hispanic. It doesn’t matter which political party they support. Every time an alien illegally votes, that alien is voiding, negating the vote of a citizen, no matter which political party they support,” he contended. “And the Democrats just don’t seem to want to understand that or to basically ignore it.”

Agresti further reflected on the motivations behind the Democrats’ opposition to efforts to improve election integrity.

“[I]t’s always hard to read people’s minds, but I can tell you this: The vast bulk of these noncitizens are voting for Democrats. According to the best data we have, about 80% of them will vote for Democrats when they vote illegally. And Democrats are fighting tooth and nail to prevent any kind of checking of people’s citizenship. It does benefit them. Is that their reasoning? It’s an obvious incentive, but I can’t read their minds.”

Earlier this month, House Republicans attempted to address the issue by introducing a bill that would require proof of citizenship to register to vote and would remove noncitizens from existing voter rolls. But Agresti expressed doubt about the bill’s chances of passage. “My guess is it will move in the House and die in the Senate, but that’s just an educated guess. And again, even if somehow it got through the Senate, there’s no way [President] Joe Biden’s signing that bill.”

“However,” he added, “I do think in the aftermath of the election, and we hate to have a repeat of 2020, that there should be some accountability, some lawsuits that demand proof that people are who they say they are in tight races. None of that was secured in the last round of election lawsuits, and it needs to be there.”

Agresti concluded by urging candidates involved in tight elections to demand verification that only citizens voted. “A candidate has to make a plea and say, ‘Hey, I want this data to prove that these people who are registered and voted actually are citizens.’”

China Is Practicing For An Apocalyptic War Against Taiwan, And The Western World Is Still Not Taking The Threat Seriously | The Economic Collapse

China has just launched enormous military exercises codenamed “Joint Sword-2024A” which are designed to simulate what a war against Taiwan would look like.  Chinese fighter jets are conducting mock airstrikes against “high-value military targets”, and Chinese warships are practicing for a future economic blockade.  Most Americans don’t seem to realize this, but once China goes to war with Taiwan, we will instantly be in a state of war with China.  The flow of consumer products from China will completely stop, we will no longer have access to the advanced computer chips from Taiwan that we are so dependent upon, and the economy will crash.  All of our lives will be turned completely upside down the moment that war with China begins, and that day may be a lot closer than most people think.

On Thursday, the Chinese “encircled Taiwan with naval vessels and military aircraft” as Joint Sword-2024A kicked off…

China on Thursday encircled Taiwan with naval vessels and military aircraft in war games, as it vowed the blood of “independence forces” on the self-ruled island would flow.

The two days of drills are part of an escalating campaign of intimidation by China that has seen it carry out a series of large-scale military exercises around Taiwan in recent years.

Taiwan’s new president Lai Ching-te was inaugurated earlier this week, and the Chinese government is not a fan of him at all.

And it is definitely not a coincidence that these military exercises are taking place shortly after he took office.

These are the biggest military exercises that we have seen in the region so far, and CNN is reporting that “dozens of Chinese fighter jets carrying live ammunition” are involved…

As part of the drills, dozens of Chinese fighter jets carrying live ammunition conducted mock strikes against “high-value military targets” of the “enemy” alongside destroyers, frigates and missile speedboats, according to China’s state broadcaster CCTV.

The exercises, which started early on Thursday and will encircle Taiwan, pose the first real test for newly elected Lai Ching-te as he attempts to manage relations with the island’s powerful authoritarian neighbor.

The good news is that these military exercises will only last for 48 hours.

But the Chinese are clearly preparing for the day when war will erupt.

Relations between the Chinese government and Taiwan have reached a breaking point, and I don’t believe that there is any way that they will be repaired.

When discussing the currently military exercises, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin issued quite an ominous warning to those that are pushing for Taiwanese independence…

Foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin then delivered a warning that included language more commonly used by China’s propaganda outlets.

“Taiwan independence forces will be left with their heads broken and blood flowing after colliding against the great… trend of China achieving complete unification,” Wang told reporters.

It is very unusual for a Chinese official to make such an inflammatory remark.

Usually the Chinese are much more restrained.

Once the exercises commenced, the Taiwanese military went on alert, and potential Chinese military targets were actively being tracked

Taiwan’s defence ministry condemned the drills, saying that it had dispatched forces to areas around the island, that its air defences and land-based missile forces were tracking targets, and that it was confident it could protect its territory.

“The launch of military exercises on this occasion not only does not contribute to the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait, it also highlights (China’s) militaristic mentality,” the ministry said.

Taiwan’s presidential office expressed regret that China was threatening the island’s democratic freedoms and regional peace and stability with its “unilateral military provocations”, but said people could rest assured Taiwan could ensure its security.

When the time finally comes, I think that the first action that China will take against Taiwan will be an economic blockade.

That will suffocate the Taiwanese economy, and it will also cut the main island off from the outlying islands that it controls.

Subsequently, I think that it is likely that the Chinese will attempt to occupy some of the smaller islands before moving to occupy Taiwan itself.

Interestingly, the military exercises that China is currently conducting are simulating action against some of those outlying islands

Su Tzu-yun, a research fellow at Taiwan’s top military think tank, the Institute for National Defence and Security Research, said that although the drills would only last two days, the scope is large relative to previous exercises, as they included Taiwan’s outlying islands.

This is designed to demonstrate China’s ability to control the seas and prevent the involvement of foreign forces, he added.

“The political signals here are greater than the military ones,” he added.

There has been a lot of concern about what it would mean if China gained control over the chipmaking facilities in Taiwan, because the entire globe is heavily dependent on the advanced chips that Taiwan produces

Two of the world’s most important chip companies can flip a “kill switch” remotely on their most advanced chipmaking machines should China invade Taiwan, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The Netherlands’ ASML — Europe’s top tech company by market value — supplies advanced machines to chipmaking companies. They include Taiwan’s TSMC, which produces, by some estimates, 90% of the world’s most advanced processor chips.

Okay, so they can flip a “kill switch” which will prevent China from getting those chips.

But once China controls Taiwan, we will lose access to those chips too.

And without those chips, the entire global economy crashes.

So we should be attempting to avoid such a scenario if at all possible.

Unfortunately, Joe Biden and his all-star team of warmongers are making a total mess of things.

We just keep getting closer and closer to a war with China, and the Biden administration just continues to make the Chinese angrier and angrier.

Of course a war with China is a key piece of the apocalyptic puzzle that I have been warning about for a long time.

The Chinese know that such a war is coming, and they are actively practicing for it.

Here in the United States, most people just assume that everything will work out just fine somehow.

Sadly, by the time most Americans finally realize how serious the threat is we will already be at war and there will be no turning back.

Ukrainian Frontline Colonel Admits Country Will Have To Cede Territories to Russia in Peace Negotiations – Calls It ‘A Victory’ | The Gateway Pundit

Long gone are the days when Ukraine was at least winning the war on the western news sites’ headlines.

Now, slowly but surely, the MSM has had to face the fact that the outmanned, outgunned and outmaneuvered Ukrainian forces will not win this war on the battlefield, will not get back to pre-war borders, much less reincorporate the Crimean peninsula.

And up until a minute ago, to state the obvious fact that Ukraine will have to cede territory during peace negotiations with Russia got you branded as a ‘Kremlin stooge’ or worse, and only the most courageous politicians, such as Hungarian Viktor Orbán, Slovak Robert Fico as well as American Donald Trump, dared utter these words.

But now, that exact same unavoidable fact has been splashed on ABC News, and voiced by a frontline leader from the Ukrainian army – someone who can’t be shaded as a ‘Vladimir Putin’s shill’.

We are talking about the leader of Ukraine’s 57th Motorized Brigade, an infantry unit battling the new Russian offensive North of Kharkov.

Colonel Oleksandr Bakulin was interviewed by ABC News in the presence of a ‘senior Army leader’ at a secret location.

I’m stressing this fact because I believe it shows that Bakulin has not ‘gone rogue’ in the surprising thing he said.

The situation in the Northern Kharkiv region is ‘quite difficult’, Bakulin says, but Ukrainians ‘managed to slow down the enemy’.

(Of course, as reinforcements for North, Kleesheva, Andreevka and other localities further south are falling prey to Russian advances – which was always Moscow’s plan.)

Furthermore, Bakulin said that the Russians still have reserves [in Belgorod near Kharkov] and are poised to bring these reserves into the battle when the time is ripe.

ABC News reported:

“’We do understand how crucial this [US] aid is’, Bakulin said. ‘The whole the world understands. Yes, our soldiers are brave and courageous, but without this aid, these weapons, shells, everything, without this we would not be able to keep fighting in a war against Russia, just because we are way smaller than Russia‘.”

Bakulin called the Ukrainian army retreating ‘a normal part of the ebb and flow of warfare’. But he introduces the ‘novel’ idea that ‘Ukraine has already won’.

“Despite the advances made but the Russians, he pushed back at the idea that Ukraine is losing the war, saying, ‘I personally think that we have already won this war. The question is at what point it is going to end, and at what stage’.

Bakulin said he predicts that in the end this war will be ended by a deal, saying, ‘Every war ends in peace talks and deals’.”

This is unprecedented, and introduces the new narrative: by merely surviving the war, Ukraine wins.

But Bakulin wasn’t done: he accepted that territory will need to be given up during negotiations, citing the experience of nearby Finland.

“’Little Finland once fought against big USSR’, Bakulin said. ‘Yes, it lost some territories. But it still does exist as a country and Russia doesn’t even look in that direction. We are in a similar position, but I hope we will not lose our land’.”

Now, let me reming you that a ‘senior Army leader’ was present at the interview, showing that this line of narrative ‘Ukraine wins the war merely by surviving’, has authorization to be floated.

“The war is far from over and the lack of heavy weaponry is still operationally critical. He put it succinctly when asked about the casualties caused by the lack of armaments, saying ‘The sweat of the artillery soldiers saves the blood of the infantry soldiers. But if there is only sweat without the shells, then infantry soldiers pay it with their blood’.”

Bakulin’s interview it’s just a cope, but also introduces a new ‘objective’ that is actually perfectly obtainable.

Let’s see if this will become the new mantra: ‘Ukraine already won’.

CNN Sees Lowest Primetime Ratings In Three Decades | ZeroHedge

Authored by Eric Lundrum via American Greatness,

The cable news channel CNN has suffered its lowest primetime ratings since 1991, in yet another indication that traditional television news coverage, as well as increasingly left-wing media, has taken a massive hit to its viewership in recent years.

As reported by the New York Post, the week of May 13th through May 19th saw the channel’s 8 PM to 11 PM programming draw just 83,000 viewers in the most crucial demographic of viewers between the ages of 25 and 54.

In that same time period, Fox News saw over 186,000 viewers in the same demographic and the same time slots.

MSNBC came in second with 111,000 viewers.

CNN’s 8-11 PM programming consists of Anderson Cooper’s “AC360” at 8 PM, followed by “The Source with Kaitlan Collins” at 9 PM, and concluding with “CNN NewsNight,” hosted by Abby Phillip, at 10 PM.

The channel’s overall weekly performance saw just 494,000.

By contrast, Fox News saw over 2 million in the same week, while MSNBC saw 1.1 million viewers, according to Nielsen Ratings.

The horrendous performance has put CNN’s new boss Mark Thompson under even greater scrutiny, as well as the CEO of CNN’s parent company Discovery, David Zaslav.

“Thompson better get his act together before he completely destroys CNN,” said one anonymous TV news producer.

“It seems like he’s thrown in the towel regarding cable.”

Since becoming CEO of Discovery, Zaslav first attempted to turn around CNN’s decline by hiring Chris Licht to run the network; Licht left after just 13 months in his position, where he was succeeded by Thompson. Thompson left the primetime lineup unchanged, while instead attempting to revamp the morning lineup.

“Zaslav went to a programmer in Licht,” said an anonymous producer.

“Now he went to a guy that doesn’t know how to program TV.”

Nevertheless, a spokesman for CNN tried to spin the numbers as positive for the network, claiming that the channel’s primetime ratings are “all growing year over year” among the target 25-54 bloc. The spokesman further claimed that if the 7 PM program of “Erin Burnett Outfront” is added to the primetime lineup, alongside the rebroadcast of Anderson Cooper’s show at midnight, then CNN is “registering double-digit, year-over-year growth” in its ratings.

“CNN’s new name is Canceled Network Now,” said an anonymous media insider. “Young people are as interested in Anderson Cooper as they are in Liza Minnelli.”
