There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true. —Soren Kierkegaard. "…truth is true even if nobody believes it, and falsehood is false even if everybody believes it. That is why truth does not yield to opinion, fashion, numbers, office, or sincerity–it is simply true and that is the end of it" – Os Guinness, Time for Truth, pg.39. “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” – Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard

Intention
To realise we carry Christ’s glory for the benefit of others.
Scripture
“God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
– Colossians 1:27
Reflection
The word ‘glory’ is a summary term the Bible uses to describe God’s character and nature. It refers to His presence made visible or manifest. God’s glory, we might say, is the “shining forth” or the “public display” of God’s character and nature.
I was heading to the airport in a taxi. After a summit for prayer leaders of the nation, I was returning home. I sat comfortably in the back seat, expecting a routine trip.
As we drove, the driver struck up a friendly conversation. From his appearance he appeared to be an immigrant from China. He asked what brought me to Sydney. I replied that it was for a meeting. He went on to ask what meeting it was.
I thought this was a bit curious. Nevertheless, I answered him that I was at a prayer gathering. The cab had stopped at a red light and instantly the driver threw both hands in the air and cried out, “I’m a sinner, I’m a sinner… I need Jesus. Please, please, I need Jesus”. Tears were rolling down his eyes.
I was reeling in shock at what had just happened! I got a grip on myself so I could address the man’s desperate cry. I agreed with him that he needed Jesus. I led him in a sinner’s prayer. After a few moments, it struck me that he clearly did know about Jesus.
So, I asked him why he had such sudden conviction. In his broken English, he said he was a child when his family migrated to Australia. He was a Christian when he left China, but now he was far away from God.
The Lord enabled me to share with him about God the Father in heaven and Jesus at His right hand. I told him that he had the Holy Spirit with him every day!
His next question to me was, “Who is the Holy Spirit?” It pierced my heart and has marked me ever since. Many know about the Father and Jesus – but have never known the Holy Spirit. I shared with him about the Holy Spirit.
As we stopped at the airport the cab driver asked for my name and then said, “Miss, God brought you into my cab today!” I agreed! Then I asked him if I could give him a hug because the next time we meet will probably be in eternity.
I walked into the airport and asked the Lord, “What was that all about, in the cab?”
He said, “That is My glory in you.” Beloved, may we all be carriers of Christ’s glory.

Prayer
Holy Father, baptise us afresh with Your Spirit and fire to be filled with Your glory. Help us to hear Your gentle voice. We need to hear You speak to us about those near us who need Your hope.
May the lost soul seeking You find You in the riches of Your glory that You have entrusted us with. Let the knowledge of Your glory in each heart through Your Holy Spirit cover Australia and the nations of the earth. Amen.

26:12 / Between the petitions of verse 11 and the affirmation of standing on level ground and in the great assembly, there may have been a pause as the speaker or liturgist actually entered the sacred precincts. The psalm’s closing echoes its opening. As “I have walked in my integrity” (v. 1), so “I do/will walk in my integrity” (v. 11). As “I do not slip” because “I have trusted in the Lord” (v. 1), so my feet stand on level ground because I praise the Lord (v. 12). The speaker thus repeats (cf. v. 7) his ultimate intention of praising (lit. “blessing”) Yahweh. It is probable that the larger liturgy of which Psalm 26 was a part was followed by the performance of praise psalms.
The key factor in this case of judgment is not absolute moral purity—it is a question of allegiance: is one loyal to the assembly of the wicked or to the assembly of Yahweh’s worshipers? It is about loyalty, not legalism. We must not read verses 4–5 as a reflection of “holier-than-thou” attitudes because verses 9–11 echo with “There but for the grace of God go I.”
In sum, Psalm 26 petitions Yahweh to verify the pilgrim’s loyalty to Yahweh’s worship and mercifully to redeem him from the judgment of the wicked made plain in the liturgies of temple entrance. In them there was dramatized the separation of the two ways, for those who may enter and those who may not. Psalm 26 shares similarities with Psalm 139, where Yahweh is petitioned to judge the speaker and where the wicked do not pose a direct, personal threat but by contrast demonstrate his loyalty to Yahweh.[1]
Ver. 12. My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the Lord.—An even place:—
I. The even place on which the believer’s foot will stand.
II. The benefits in possession, in experience, and in prospect which he will derive from this standing.
III. The occasion, and the manner in which it will become him to express his gratitude. (Thomas Dale.)
Worship in the beauty of holiness:—
By the foot, the instrument of motion, we understand the whole turn and conduct of life. Thus the ways of a man denote his doings and his dealings, the affections which govern him, and the actions proceeding from them. When these are right, or even, we may appeal to God as Judge, worship Him in the beauty of holiness, bless Him in the congregations.
I. Holiness of life is a proper qualification for all who would worship God with acceptance. Holiness likens us to God. He desires the holy to worship Him, respects their service, and bestows His blessing.
II. Holiness of life is an essential as well as a proper qualification for all resorts to God in religious offices. Worship is not enjoined on us for the sake of God, but for our own benefit. Its main intent is to lodge with us a sense of our depending upon Him for all we have and all we hope for, to the end that it may secure our obedience to His commands and provide effectually for our final happiness. We cannot, therefore, approach Him in worship without a heart and life corresponding. (N. Marshall, D.D.)
Blessing God in the congregation:—
If a saint’s single voice in prayer is so sweet to God’s ear, much more His saints’ prayer and praise in consort together. A father is glad to see any one of his children, and makes him welcome when he visits him, but much more when they come together; the greatest feast is when they all meet at his house. The public praises of the Church are the emblem of heaven itself. There is a wonderful prevalence in the joint prayers of His people. When Peter was in prison the Church meets and prays him out of his enemies’ hands. A prince will grant a petition subscribed by the hands of a whole city, which, may be, he would not grant at the request of a private subject. (H. Gurnall.).[2]
12 My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the Lord.
The song began in the minor, but it has now reached the major key. Saints often sing themselves into happiness. The even place upon which our foot stands is the sure, covenant faithfulness, eternal promise and immutable oath of the Lord of Hosts; there is no fear of falling from this solid basis, or of its being removed from under us. Established in Christ Jesus, by being vitally united to him, we have nothing left to occupy our thoughts but the praises of our God. Let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, and when assembled, let us not be slow to contribute our portion of thanksgiving. Each saint is a witness to divine faithfulness, and should be ready with his testimony. As for the slanderers, let them howl outside the door while the children sing within.[3]

2 Samuel 12:7 — “Thou art the man!” This is the only time this phrase is found in the Bible. What was the great sin David had done? “Thou hast despised me” (2 Samuel 12:10). What David had done in secret would soon be made known publicly (2 Samuel 12:12, Luke 8:17) because “the enemies of the LORD [have occasion] to blaspheme” (2 Samuel 12:14).
2 Samuel 12:24 — ”… and the LORD loved him.” God chastens, but God forgives.
2 Samuel 12:28 — The king that stayed home in days of battle now gathered the people for battle. Joab, not always known for his ethics, was loyal to David though.
John 16:2 — One of the people Jesus is talking about is Saul of Tarsus.
John 16:8 — The three duties of the Holy Spirit: conviction of sin (the greatest sin is not loving the LORD Jesus), conviction of righteousness (the One whose righteousness can pay the penalty of sin), and the conviction of coming judgment.
John 16:33 — We can rejoice because Jesus has overcome the world!
Psalm 119:72 — Would you rather have thousands of gold and silver pieces or the Law of God?
Proverbs 16:5 — Pride is an abomination to the LORD. Is it an abomination to us?

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee; he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22)
It is a heavy burden; roll it on Omnipotence. It is thy burden now, and it crushes thee; but when the Lord takes it, He will make nothing of it. If thou art called still to bear, “he will sustain thee.” It will be on Him and not on thee. Thou wilt be so upheld under it that the burden will be a blessing. Bring the Lord into the matter, and thou wilt stand upright under that which in itself would bow thee down.
Our worst fear is lest our trial should drive us from the path of duty; but this the Lord will never suffer. If we are righteous before Him, He will not endure that our affliction should move us from our standing. In Jesus He accepts us as righteous, and in Jesus He will keep us so.
What about the present moment? Art thou going forth to this day’s trial alone? Are thy poor shoulders again to be galled with the oppressive load? Be not so foolish. Tell the Lord all about thy grief and leave it with Him. Don’t cast your burden down and then take it up again; but roll it on the Lord and leave it there. Then shalt thou walk at large, a joyful and unburdened believer, singing the praises of thy great Burden-bearer.
“The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” –2 Peter 3:9
Scripture reading: Psalm 130:1-8
When God was about to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham ‘argued’ God down to not doing so if just ten righteous persons could be found in the cities. These were extremely wicked cities! This is an illustration of God’s patience with sinners.
He is able to be patient and merciful because He has dealt with our sins by putting them on His Son, and punishing Him, on the cross. This is the glorious gospel! It is why God is free to not treat us as our sins deserve and to remember our sins no more.
We might wonder, though, how this verse relates to the doctrine of election. For, if God has only chosen some to salvation, then how does that stack up with the statement here that He does not wish that “any should perish, but that all should reach repentance”? Well, notice who it is that Peter is speaking to. It says that God is “patient toward you.” And who are you? 2 Peter is addressed to those “who have obtained a faith of equal standing with [the Apostles].” In other words, Peter addressed his letter to believers, to all God’s elect, including those who had not yet been born. So, this verse is not saying that God really wants every single person to repent, but that the return of Christ will only come when all those whom God has chosen to salvation have come to repentance and faith, and not a day before!
Suggestions for prayer
Thank the Lord for His electing mercies. Pray that He would soon bring the full number of His elect ones to faith in Christ.

Conversations With The Dead Through AI?: Technology Is Taking Deception To A Whole New Level …Not only does Scripture warn us about the deception of false teachers, but we are also given a clear direction that we should not seek advice from the dead. “One who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord” (Deuteronomy 18:11-12). China Is Practicing For An Apocalyptic War Against Taiwan, And The Western World Is Still Not Taking The Threat Seriously …Most Americans don’t seem to realize this, but once China goes to war with Taiwan, we will instantly be in a state of war with China. All of our lives will be turned completely upside down the moment that war with China begins, and that day may be a lot closer than most people think.

Because they are being sprayed in the atmosphere, i.e. chemtrails contain them, Dr. Mihalcea says.

Anti-Christ Christians More on that story of the Roman Catholic football player who gave a Roman Catholic speech at a private Roman Catholic college. Now a “Christian organization” has petitioned for him to apologize because, while his comments did not reflect their version of “Christian values,” they certainly did reflect biblical values, and if there’s anything we know, it’s that modern “Christians” will not abide biblical values. I’m wondering if we can sign a petition to have those who reject biblical values removed from the term “Christian.” To be clear, just because the story refers to it as a “Christian petition” does not make it actually Christian. They’re defining “Christian” much the same as they define “marriage” — not really anything, but they’re going to use the term anyway.
Reverse Cancel Culture? Secretary of State Blinken was chided by China for congratulating Taiwan’s Lai Ching-te for being elected President. China demands “the U.S. immediately correct their mistakes.” And former Congressman Mike Gallagher was sanctioned by China for visiting Taiwan. I don’t know. Is that a bad thing? Because I’d tend to view it as an endorsement of Blinken and Gallagher. But, maybe that’s just one of the reasons my blog is banned in China.
Side By Side These stories came out on the same day. First, a new study reports that daily marijuana use is outpacing daily drinking in the U.S. Of course, we must question that since people are generally known to be careful drug users, whether it’s alcohol or narcotics. Almost the very next story on my newsfeed reported that cannabis use causes the risk of psychosis to skyrocket among teens. Recreational use of marijuana is now legal in 24 states and for medical purposes in 38. I mean, seriously, what could go wrong?
Too Many Questions In February, 2024, NBC reported that Mexican drug cartels had “flooded” Montana with fentanyl and meth, including “operations on Indian reservations.” That’s a red flag, but when South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem made a similar statement about South Dakota, she was banned from all Sioux tribal lands. Is that, “No, we have no Mexican drug cartels here” or is that, “No, we don’t want anyone to know”? Or is it, “We won’t allow people here who kill dangerous dogs”?

Tyranny of the Minority Eight Alaskans, ages 11 to 22, are suing Alaska for planning a natural gas project. They claim the project infringes on their constitutional protections because the greenhouse gases will harm their health and livelihood. If this suit succeeds, I see two obvious ramifications. First (and this is already true), it will only take an extremely small number to do this. Here it’s eight — eight young Alaskans that will decide for Alaska and the downstream recipients whether or not they’ll get the natural gas. Second, the logic requires that simple lawsuits from very small (and apparently terrorized) numbers should be able to successfully stop all fossil fuels in America because, hey, it infringes on their constitutional protections. Welcome to anarchy. Oh, and a verifiable threat to democracy.
The Right Spin The news tells us that new unemployment claims are down (“That’s good!”) while the U.S. Treasure Secretary voices concerns that the cost of living is getting too high (“That’s bad!”). The government wants to eliminate fossil fuel vehicles in favor of electric vehicles (“That’s good!”), but EV sales are slowing and EV manufacturer, Lucid, is cutting their workforce by 6% (“That’s bad!”). So where are the spin doctors who will take the 3 hostages found dead in Gaza and turn it to “Hamas continues to return hostages as a show of good faith”?
Bee Satirical or Bee Quiet Just too true this time, Bee. The story is about how a Trump/Biden debate again is a clear sign of God’s judgment on America. Can’t argue with that. In another story, after the death of Iran’s president, Israel accidently let it slip that they had developed a terraforming machine that could, for instance, quickly build a mountain in front of, say, a flying helicopter. Not connected to any current events, I’m sure. And, not the Bee, but the Genesius Times is carrying the story of how the January 6 protesters have all been released because they claimed they were just protesting for Palestine. I can see that.
Some key quotes by Schaeffer on this important issue:
For quite a long time Christians in the West did not think much or worry about unchecked statism and the need to disobey leaders in civil government. If thought was given to resisting the state and facing the consequences of a hostile government, attention usually turned to Communist countries and the like.
Or believers might think of the persecution and suffering that so many Christians were undergoing in Muslim-majority nations. But as the West becomes not just increasingly post-Christian but more and more anti-Christian, then it becomes ever more apparent that believers must think carefully about our own times and our own situation.
Does the state ever become so bad, so immoral, and so opposed to God and his laws that resistance to it becomes necessary? I obviously think so, since this happens to be the 117th article I have now penned in my series on “Resistance theory.” You find all the pieces here: https://billmuehlenberg.com/category/politics/resistance-theory/
The very important American apologist, writer, pastor and thinker, Francis Schaeffer (1912-1984) thought long and hard about such matters, and wrote and spoke about them often. Many of these quotes I would have shared before in various articles, but here I seek to bring most of them together in one place. I will just offer them in the books or talks they are found in:
How Should We Then Live? (Fleming H. Revell, 1976)
“Rome was cruel, and its cruelty can perhaps be best pictured by the events which took place in the arena in Rome itself. People seated above the arena floor watched gladiator contests and Christians thrown to the beasts. Let us not forget why the Christians were killed. They were not killed because they worshiped Jesus. Various religions covered the whole Roman world. One such was the cult of Mithras, a popular Persian form of Zoroastrianism which had reached Rome by 67 B.C. Nobody cared who worshiped whom so long as the worshiper did not disrupt the unity of the state, centered in the formal worship of Caesar. The reason the Christians were killed was because they were rebels. This was especially so after their growing rejection by the Jewish synagogues lost for them the immunity granted to the Jews since Julius Caesar’s time. “We may express the nature of their rebellion in two ways, both of which are true. First, we can say they worshiped Jesus as God and they worshiped the infinite-personal God only. The Caesars would not tolerate this worshiping of the one God only. It was counted as treason. Thus their worship became a special threat to the unity of the state during the third century and during the reign of Diocletian (284-305), when people of the higher classes began to become Christians in larger numbers. If they had worshiped Jesus and Caesar, they would have gone unharmed, but they rejected all forms of syncretism. They worshiped the God who had revealed himself in the Old Testament, through Christ, and in the New Testament which had gradually been written. And they worshiped him as the only God. They allowed no mixture: All other gods were seen as false gods. “We can also express in a second way why the Christians were killed: No totalitarian authority nor authoritarian state can tolerate those who have an absolute by which to judge that state and its actions. The Christians had that absolute in God’s revelation. Because the Christians had an absolute, universal standard by which to judge not only personal morals but the state, they were counted as enemies of totalitarian Rome and were thrown to beasts.” pp. 24-26
“If we as Christians do not speak out as authoritarian governments grow from within or come from outside, eventually we or our children will be the enemy of society and the state. No truly authoritarian government can tolerate those who have a real absolute by which to judge its arbitrary absolutes and who speak out and act upon the absolute. This was the issue with the early church in regard to the Roman Empire, and though the specific issue will in all probability take a different form than Caesar-worship, the basic issue of having an absolute by which to judge the state and society will be the same. |“Here is a sentence to memorize: To make no decision in regard to the growth of authoritarian government is already a decision for it.” pp. 256-257
A Christian Manifesto (Crossway, 1981, 1982)
“God has ordained the state as a delegated authority; it is not autonomous. The state is to be an agent of justice, to restrain evil by punishing the wrongdoer, and to protect the good in society. When it does the reverse, it has no proper authority. It is then a usurped authority and as such it becomes lawless and is tyranny.” p. 91
“But what is to be done when the state does that which violates its legitimate function? The early Christians died because they would not obey the state in a civil matter. People often say to us that the early church did not show any civil disobedience. They do not know church history. Why were the Christians in the Roman Empire thrown to the lions? From the Christian’s viewpoint it was for a religious reason. But from the viewpoint of the Roman State they were in civil disobedience, they were civil rebels. The Roman State did not care what anybody believed religiously; you could believe anything, or you could be an atheist. But you had to worship Caesar as a sign of your loyalty to the state. The Christians said they would not worship Caesar, anybody, or anything, but the living God. Thus to the Roman Empire they were rebels, and it was civil disobedience. That is why they were thrown to the lions. . . . The bottom line is that at a certain point there is not only the right, but the duty, to disobey the state.” pp. 92-93
“Please read most thoughtfully what I am going to say in the next sentence: If there is no final place for civil disobedience, then the government has been made autonomous, and as such, it has been put in the place of the living God. If there is no final place for civil disobedience, then the government has been made autonomous, and as such, it has been put in the place of the living God, because then you are to obey it even when it tells you in its own way at that time to worship Caesar. And that point is exactly where the early Christians performed their acts of civil disobedience even when it cost them their lives.” p. 130

“A number of years ago I shared a taxi with Francis Schaeffer in St. Louis. During our cab ride I asked Dr. Schaeffer: ‘What is your greatest concern for the future of America?’ Without hesitation or interval given to ponder the question, Schaeffer replied simply, ‘Statism’.” R.C. Sproul, in David Hall, ed., Welfare Reformed: A Compassionate Approach. P&R, 1994, p. 56
Throughout the whole history of the Christian Church, (and again I wish people knew their history. In A Christian Manifesto I stress what happened in the Reformation in reference to all this) at a certain point, it is not only the privilege but it is the duty of the Christian to disobey the government. Now that’s what the founding fathers did when they founded this country. That’s what the early Church did. That’s what Peter said. You heard it from the Scripture: “Should we obey man?… rather than God?” That’s what the early Christians did.
Occasionally – no, often, people say to me, “But the early Church didn’t practice civil disobedience.” Didn’t they? You don’t know your history again. When those Christians that we all talk about so much allowed themselves to be thrown into the arena, when they did that, from their view it was a religious thing. They would not worship anything except the living God. But you must recognize from the side of the Roman state, there was nothing religious about it at all – it was purely civil. The Roman Empire had disintegrated until the only unity it had was its worship of Caesar. You could be an atheist; you could worship the Zoroastrian religion… You could do anything. They didn’t care. It was a civil matter, and when those Christians stood up there and refused to worship Caesar, from the side of the state, they were rebels. They were in civil disobedience and they were thrown to the beasts. They were involved in civil disobedience, as much as your brothers and sisters in the Soviet Union are. When the Soviet Union says that, by law, they cannot tell their children, even in their home about Jesus Christ, they must disobey and they get sent off to the mental ward or to Siberia. It’s exactly the same kind of civil disobedience that’s represented in a very real way by the thing I am wearing on my lapel tonight.
Every appropriate legal and political governmental means must be used. “The final bottom line”- I have invented this term in A Christian Manifesto. I hope the Christians across this country and across the world will really understand what the Bible truly teaches: The final bottom line! The early Christians, every one of the reformers (and again, I’ll say in A Christian Manifesto I go through country after country and show that there was not a single place with the possible exception of England, where the Reformation was successful, where there wasn’t civil disobedience and disobedience to the state), the people of the Reformation, the founding fathers of this country, faced and acted in the realization that if there is no place for disobeying the government, that government has been put in the place of the living God. In such a case, the government has been made a false god. If there is no place for disobeying a human government, what government has been made GOD.
Caesar, under some name, thinking of the early Church, has been put upon the final throne. The Bible’s answer is NO! Caesar is not to be put in the place of God and we as Christians, in the name of the Lordship of Christ, and all of life, must so think and act on the appropriate level. It should always be on the appropriate level. We have lots of room to move yet with our court cases, with the people we elect – all the things that we can do in this country. If, unhappily, we come to that place, the appropriate level must also include a disobedience to the state.
If you are not doing that, you haven’t thought it through. Jesus is not really on the throne. God is not central. You have made a false god central. Christ must be the final Lord and not society and not Caesar.
May I repeat the final sentence again? CHRIST MUST BE THE FINAL LORD AND NOT CAESAR AND NOT SOCIETY. (Excerpts from a talk delivered in 1982 to the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Florida. http://www.peopleforlife.org/francis.html )
We are living through the most destructive bout of inflation in 45 years, one that threatens to become worse and perhaps just as ruinous in the long run as the last one.
And yet daily and for years, we’ve been told it’s not so bad and that it’s nearly over anyway.
How can we reconcile these two realities? They cannot both be true.
An image of verified accuracy has been circulating all over social media lately: A list showing the price increases from the end of 2019 to now at major fast-food outlets. It fits with your own experience. It indicates that in four years, your fast-food prices have doubled, so that your dollar is now worth 50 cents or even 25 cents. That’s an astounding level of inflation by any standard.
The validity of this is easily verified, and it certainly fits with our experience. And not only with fast food. It’s true of all food out—and food at home, too. In my own estimation, trying my best to recall prices from late 2019, I, too, have a sense of inflation of 50 percent to 100 percent or more.
But there is a major problem.
The government says otherwise. Looking at official inflation data, what we see is something very different. It shows food-away-from-home prices going up by about 26 percent and prices in general up by 21 percent. Setting the index at 100 for January 2020, we end up with indexes of 126 and 121, respectively, today.
What does one do when official data depart so dramatically from lived experience? As Chico Marx said, who are you going to believe, me or your own eyes? It seems to me that your own eyes are a better guide.
So what in the world is wrong with government statistics on inflation? It’s a huge combination of factors. In the most rudimentary form, the inflation calculation used by the government no longer consists of a basket of goods and services carried over from one period to the next. Starting in 1996 and following, economists started pushing “hedonic” adjustments to the index. What does this word mean? It is from the Greeks meaning pleasure.
Burger King and McDonald’s are both set to launch their own $5 value meal deal.
Other fast-food and restaurant chains are also getting involved in the value-wars.
Chains are trying to lure diners back in, after high prices of fast food have turned many away.
The fast food wars are heating up, asBurger Kingis set to launch its own $5 value meal deal.
It’s not the only fast food chain to start offering lower-priced deals. So how do the other fast-food and restaurant chains offers stack up?
Burger King’s offer is similar to the McDonald’s deal. It includes a sandwich, chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink all for $5,Bloombergreported. But this deal is set to run for over a month, unlike the one from McDonald’s.
McDonald’swill launch its $5 offering at the end of June. It includes a choice between two of the chain’s signature burgers — a McChicken or a McDouble—and a four-piece McNuggets, fries, and a drink.
Other chains are expanding their meal deals.Wendy’shas announced that it’s adding to its $3 breakfast deal for a limited time. Customers can pair a small portion of seasoned potatoes with a choice between two breakfast muffins — a bacon, egg, and cheese English muffin or a sausage, egg, and cheese English muffin, the companysaid.
Earlier this year,Taco Belloverhauled its Cravings Value Menu by adding six new “meal-sized” items to the menu, which features items under $3. The menu update came as customers are seeking more value, but have foundrising prices at fast food chains.
Restaurant chains like Chili’sare also rolling out more deals and portion sizes to capture some of fast-food’s lost diners. Chili’s launched itsnew Big Smasher burger earlier this year — the burger costs $12.99 but comes down to $10.99 when part of the chain’s “3 For Me” meal combo. The cheaper deals hope to capture those diners looking for value as fast-food prices creep up toward restaurant chain prices.
Trump’s rally in the Bronx was a massive success at showcasing the president’s continued support from minority voters even in the most Democratic-controlled parts of America.
The Bronx is the bluest of New York City boroughs, with a majority of Spanish voters. Biden “won” 83% of the Bronx vote back in 2020.
Thousands of voters turned out despite fears of violence from Democrats, who had a minimal presence at the rally despite 15 or more politicians and groups trying to disrupt the rally with their weak protest.
EVERYONE IN AMERICA Knows things were better under President Trump – no matter what garbage the media is pushing. And EVERYTHING is worse under Joe Biden. The Marxist left is destroying the country. And it’s not likely to get any better as long as Democrats hold on to power.
Even the leftist protesters held up a banner that said “f*ck Biden!”
The Democrats will have to break out the fake voter registrations and phony mail-in ballots once again if they can’t sign up enough illegal aliens to vote for Joe Biden. Either way, everyone knows Biden cannot pull off another massive election theft this time.
Fox host Jesse Watters shared a clip on X of voters in the Bronx on why they’re voting for Trump this November.
Lara Logan responded, “Now this is inconvenient for the narrative – how do you steal the election now when the world sees that Americans of every race support Trump?”
The voters interviewed cited inflation and economic stress, housing crime, and illegal immigration as why we need Trump back in office, saying Joe Biden hasn’t done anything with one adding, “he wants to make it worse.”
Watch below:
After the rally, a guest on CBS admitted that the rally looked “a lot like America.”
She added, “There was a lot of Asian voters there, there were a lot of Hispanic voters, a lot of Black voters there.” However, she then lied, saying that this is not a typical sight at Trump rallies.
Every single Trump rally this author has attended since 2019 has looked like America, with people of all races, religions, and walks of life turning out to support Donald Trump.
Twice in the past few weeksPresident Joe Biden has claimed that when he took office in January 2021 inflation was “over nine percent.” First on CNN’s OutFront with Erin Burnett on May 8 and again on May 14 in a Yahoo! Finance interview, the bizarre comment was made. And as has become a routine with the gaffe-prone chief executive, White House staffers added shamelessness to what could have been limited to embarrassment byissuing a statement: “The President was making the point that the factors that caused inflation were in place when he took office. The pandemic caused inflation around the world by disrupting our economy and breaking our supply chains.”
Americans will have to decide for themselves if the claim made by Biden was a lie intended to mislead anyone not familiar with the trajectory of prices over the past several years, or an innocent error. It is a choice US citizens have been confronted with frequently, in particular where assertions regarding the health of the economy have been made.
If an honest mistake, it simply may be that the President confused the January 2021 inflation number with a number of other price statistics beginning with the number nine in the month of his inauguration. Below are several possibilities.
In January 2021, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in their consumer prices summary that the average price of a boneless sirloin steak was $9.418. By April 2024 that price had risen 27.5 percent to $11.662.
In January 2021, fifteen subindices of CPI began with the number nine. Their levels in that month, in the April 2024 report, and the percent change are shown below.
Alternatively, Mr. Biden may have mistaken a different January 2021 economic statistic with the July 2022 year-over-year headline CPI number.
The spread between the 1-year US Treasury bill and the 10-year US Treasury note was 97.9 basis points (0.98 percent) in mid-January 2021. That spread inverted in mid-2022, about the time that headline CPI year-over-yearactuallyreached 9.1 percent. A normal yield curve slopes upward, with a positive spread showing that longer-term bonds yield more than shorter-term ones, typically reflecting expectations of economic growth and rising future interest rates. An inverted yield curve slopes downward with a negative spread as shorter-term bonds yield more than longer-term ones. Those conditions are often considered a predictor of an economic recession. As of May 2024, the 1-to-10 year spread has been negative for over 600 days.
The Federal Reserve’s Industrial Production (IP) Index was at 98.8 in January 2021. Owing to lockdowns and other pandemic policies, the index plummeted to a low of 84.6 in April 2020 and was recovering early in 2021. But despite hitting a post-pandemic high of 103.5 in September 2022, the IP Index hasn’t yet recovered its September 2018 all-time high of 104.1. Since the start of 2024, the index has declined, currently oscillating between 101.8 and 102.8.
Industrial Production (2014 – present), with all-time high (red dotted line), and January 2021 (black vertical line) indicated
It’s possible that Mr. Biden has once again fumbled details accidentally. Yet the consistency of those blundered messages, each absolving his administration of responsibility for declining economic conditions, is simply not consistent with randomness. American citizens have been told thatcorporate profits,Vladimir Putin, owners of gas stations, andocean shippersare responsible for the huge surge in prices. Month-to-month and year-to-year price change data has beenconflated misleadingly, as have statistics regarding how the US inflationary surgecompares to those in other nations.
Whatever the specific reasons, the desperate evasiveness is glaring. Knowing that the CPI was not “over 9 percent” in January 2021, but rather 1.4 percent, hitting 9.1 percent in July 2022, is one thing. Recognizing that the administration of monetary policy has become a third-rail issue to be evaded at all costs is another, more pressing, matter. Instead of properly attributing the increase in prices to expansionary monetary policies (and to a lesser extent, massive debt and deficits), many in the political establishment prefer to tell ham handed-lies which further erode an already ramshackle credibility.
It may be that the political establishment believes that the American public is not sophisticated enough to understand the Fed. More likely, the ability of the Fed to provide a swift economic boost during crises (without the lengthy process that fiscal stimuli require) is deemed too important to endanger by drawing attention to: even the staunchly anti-high finance Elizabeth Warren votedagainst auditing the Fedin 2016. The bipartisan inclination to keep the US central bank out of critical discussions is one which, whether inflation subsides or the Fedheeds calls to normalize at the 3-percent level, demands closer scrutiny.
GAZA — Terrorists across the globe faced the bitter reality today that if they rape and murder hundreds of women, the United Nations will give them a country to operate and billions of dollars.
“Today, we have put terrorists on notice,” declared Secretary General António Guterres to the United Nations General Assembly. “Let it be known that the consequences of mass rape and murder will be swift, and in the form of cash.”
Terrorist organizations reeled from the shocking news, stunned by the United Nation’s dramatic action. “My English not so good, let me be sure I understand,” said terrorist Mohammed Deif. “We do nothing, get no money. We rape women, United Nations give us money? You are sure?” asked Deif, clearly dazed by the harsh new reality. “And you say if shoot children, we get to run country? Well, okay… if we must go rape women and shoot kids, we must. Bye-bye.”
The Biden administration has thrown its full support behind the move, vowing to hunt down every single terrorist and personally give them a suitcase of cash. “We will not sit idly by as ruthless barbarians film themselves raping women and butchering children,” declared Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. “We will ensure those murderous psychopaths receive their just due – a country to plan more attacks from, and the cash for more ammo and GoPro cameras. There will no more warnings, only cash.”
At publishing time, billionaire terrorist leaders living in Qatar had learned the devastating news that they would be receiving millions more dollars for their role in financing mass rape.

Nearly 80 percent of Americans now consider fast food to be a “luxury item” as families feel the squeeze from the Biden regime’s failing economy.
According to a survey from Lending Tree of around 2,000 adults, what was once considered an affordable option for low-income workers is fast becoming the opposite.
The company noted:
Thanks to rising prices, most Americans now see fast food as a luxury and are eating it less often, according to a new LendingTree survey. Rampant inflation has forced millions of Americans to reassess their spending habits. For many, that has meant fewer trips to the drive-thru for that burger, burrito or spicy chicken sandwich they love — and even a change in how they perceive fast food.
…
Americans love fast food, but costs are forcing them to curb their cravings. 3 in 4 Americans typically eat fast food at least once a week, but the majority (62%) say they’re eating it less due to rising prices. In fact, 65% of Americans have been shocked by the high price of a fast-food bill in the past six months.
78% of consumers view fast food as a luxury because it’s become increasingly expensive. Additionally, half of Americans say they view fast food as a luxury because they’re struggling financially. This is especially true among Americans who make less than $30,000 a year (71%), parents with young children (58%), Gen Zers (58%) and women (53%).
The analysis continues:
For generations, fast food has been a quick, low-cost, convenient way for budget-watching Americans to feed their family on busy school nights, after a long day of work or even when no one feels like cooking but you don’t want to break the bank.
We know it isn’t the healthiest choice for us physically, but it could sometimes serve an important purpose financially for busy families living paycheck to paycheck and trying to make ends meet.
However, inflation is changing that. Most Americans (75%) still eat fast food at least once a week, but 62% of Americans say rising prices are forcing them to eat it less often.
Such reports are a reminder of how average Americans are being priced out by Joe Biden’s economy, with prices surging across the country amid soaring levels of inflation.
Among those most affected by the rising cost of fast food will be Californians, where prices have skyrocketed following the imposition of a $20 minimum wage.
According to an analysis from Kalinowski Equity Research, fast-food restaurants across the Golden State hiked prices by around eight percent since the law went into in April.
As the ICC ponders an arrest warrant for Netanyahu, three European nations renew calls for a Palestinian state. “We are rewarding Hamas for committing mass murder-the worst mass murder of Jews since the Holocaust.” JNS Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Tobin believes Western countries are delegitimizing Israel by promoting the same “failed policy” of the past.
But if you think we’re in arecession, here’s some good news: We’re not in one, and there likely isn’t one coming, based on economic data and what experts who talked to Business Insider are seeing.
A Harris poll for theGuardianfound 56% of Americansbelieve the US is in a recession. Plus, it found a majority think we have a shrinking economy. Two reasons people may be feeling like the economy isn’t doing so well — despite the US not being in an official recession since the two-month one in early 2020 — are due to media coverage and how people view economic trends.
David Kelly, chief global strategist at J.P. Morgan Asset Management; Eugenio Alemán, Raymond James’ chief economist; and Gregory Daco, EY’s chief economist, told Business Insider the US isn’t in a recession.
“Americans’ negative attitude towards the economy is largely due to incessantly negative media coverage of economic and social issues amplified by an even more negative social media feed,” Kelly told Business Insider in a statement.
Of course, not everything is perfect, and that could sour people’s views. Daco said that when you consider cost fatigue, inflation‘s cumulative effect, the largely frozen and unaffordablehousing market, and also “the reduced amount of churn in thelabor market and this perceptionthat there are fewer opportunities out there in terms of jobs, then that leads to more pessimism about the implied state of the economy.”
“And I think that’s really what we’re seeing in terms of this particular survey — is that there is this difference between how people perceive consumer spending trends, inflationary trends, employment trends, and how they are from a data perspective,” Daco said, adding “that misperception is exacerbated by the fact that we have different sources of intelligence, different media sources that may bias the underlying take as to how the economy is behaving.”
If you’re interested in learning more about what’s going on with the economy take a look at the charts below.
US GDP is still growing
Kelly listed “growth and expected growth in quarterly GDP” as one of the “most important numbers to watch” in addition topayroll gains— which recently cooled but are still signaling a strong labor market — and theweekly unemployment insurance claims— which have been low as large-scale layoffs have not yet emerged.
Real GDP for the UShas continued to be robust, even if growth has been slowing.
Unemployment rates in the US have been low
The unemployment rate did climb from 3.8% in March to 3.9% in April, but that’s still low.
“We’re still seeing strong job growth momentum,” Daco said. “We have a historically low unemployment rate.”
In the Great Recession, the US unemployment rate skyrocketed from 5.0% in December 2007 to 9.5% in June 2009. It took years for the job market to fully recover after that recession, while unemployment plummeted after the brief but deep Covid recession in 2020.
CPI data shows US inflation is stubborn but has been under 4%
Inflation is still elevated and stubborn, but the year-over-year change in theConsumer Price Index has cooledfrom the high 2021 and 2022 rates. Alemán said while inflation is comparatively low, “the surge in inflation since 2021 has pushed Americans to try to figure out what to buy and what not to buy — something that we were not used to doing before.”
“Probably the cost of searching for a better price has put a lot of stress into Americans’ lives that they did not have before,” Alemán said.
The S&P 500 has generally been rising for over a year
In 2024, the S&P 500 hit multipleall-time highs. The Harris poll for the Guardian found nearly half thought the S&P 500 index had actually been down.
There isn’t a US recession now or one coming soon either
If you’re worried about a recession coming soon, you may feel better knowing that experts don’t think so. Alemán said Raymond James doesn’t foresee one but expects a slowdown in economic activity. Looking at the next 12 months, Daco said recession odds are relatively low. Kelly said the US isn’t “even close” to a recession.
“Indeed, the so-called ‘misery index’, the sum of the inflation rate and the unemployment rate is currently 7.3%,” Kelly said. “This is better, that is lower, than it has been more than 75% of the time over the past 60 years.”
There are still some data points and trends Americans may be concerned about.Sales for existing homesandnew homesdropped recently. Whilemortgage ratesare back below 7%, they’re still elevated.Layoffsare happening atsome major companies, inflation is still not back to the Fed’s 2% target, and it looks likeinterest ratesare still going to be high for a while.
“The longer we have very, very high interest rates as we have today, that will increase the probability that something will break and that we might face a recession in the future,” Alemán said.
So hooray for no recession and likely no recession anytime soon. However, just because we aren’t in a recession doesn’t mean the economy is perfect.
Justice Alito is in hot water after the “An Appeal to Heaven” flag was spotted outside his home, as well as an American flag flying upside-down. But these aren’t the only extremist flags he has been seen flying: here are nine more radical – practically terrorist – flags our journalists spotted hanging in broad daylight for all to see.
This strange flag with stars and stripes, apparently a well-known symbol of the far right. Scary!
This flag showing some kind of tree – is Alito saying that all non-white peoples must be… uprooted? Probably.
This flag telling people to live, even though people died on January 6th. Disgusting.
Literally the flag of a rebellion against government.
This flag showing a sport that white people like. Horrifying.
Every life matters? The far-right messaging couldn’t be more clear.
This flag supporting chicken sandwiches that hate gay people. What a bigot.
This flag with the emblem of a literal terrorist organization. Appalling.
Reeee!!!!
These images have left all of us here at the Bee shaken. Obviously, this man does not belong in civil society, much less occupying a seat on the highest court in the land. Lock him up!
