Cindy Jacobs: Once Again, The Weekly Dilly Winner

Zwinglius Redivivus

Self-proclaimed television prophet Cindy Jacobs recently told her followers that her faith once caused a woman to re-grow a cheek bone in seconds and that she was able to self-heal a grapefruit-sized tumor caused by Satan.  In a web video posted last week, Jacobs explained that she once felt “crippled in my gift” to heal because she prayed for someone and they died.  “I was so hurt over this that I wasn’t willing anymore to extend my faith, I was shipwrecked,” she said.

But at a prayer meeting, Jacobs said she began to “move out powerfully in faith.”  “I gave this prophecy, ‘You were in a car accident, and it destroyed your right cheekbone, so literally there’s a hollow under your cheek, you have no cheekbone. Where are you?'” she asked people at the meeting. “You see, that even takes faith to ask someone to stand up when you’re ministering…

All Things Work Together For Bad to those who Hate The Lord

Zwinglius Redivivus

bullinger_glassThe wicked, verily, perish through their own default; for God beginneth to whip them in this life, to the end that they, being chastened, may begin to be wise, and turn to the Lord: but they, by his chastisement, are the more indurate, and murmur at the judgments of God, converting that to their own destruction which was ordained to have been to their health.

For as to them that love God all things work to the best, so to them that hate the Lord all things do work to their utter destruction.   – Heinrich Bullinger

Sound Biblical Doctrine vs. Man-Made Doctrine (the 1 st. “G” word)

LOVE-HOPE-PEACE In Our Changing World

When Adam and Eve ate of the fruit of the ‘tree of knowledge of good and evil (as we saw in the last post) they immediately KNEW they were naked! (Genesis 3:7-8)

Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”  So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”  Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” So the Lord God said to the serpent: “Because you…

R.C. Sproul on the True Ministry of the Holy Spirit

Having a lot to say is not the same thing as being an expert. The charismatic movement would have all Christians believe that they—the charismatics—are the experts on the Holy Spirit. But is volume the true measure of expertise?

Scripture is clear about what to look for when it comes to identifying the Spirit’s work. Christ’s words in John 16 give us a good place to start.

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. (John 16:13–14)

In the following video clip, R.C. Sproul gives a helpful perspective on how to identify and understand the Person and work of the Holy Spirit.

Many charismatics falsely assume that opposition to their movement is the same as opposition to the Holy Spirit. But Grace to You’s criticism of charismatic theology has always been in defense of the Spirit, as He’s presented in Scripture. At the upcoming Strange Fire conference, we want to highlight the true work of the Holy Spirit.

Analysis: Netanyahu nearing decision on Iran strike. Ready to order attack last fall, but Obama pressured against. Two leaders to meet on September 30th at White House.

Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog

(Washington, D.C.) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is nearing a decision on an Iran strike. As he does so, he will soon come to the United States. The Israeli leader and his top national security team will meet with President Obama at the White House on September 30th. The premier will then address the U.N. General Assembly on October 1st.

Netanyahu’s expressed mission: To persuade the U.S. and Western powers to intensify — not ease up on — pressure on Iran to give up its pursuit of nuclear weapons and the fuel to build them.

The big question: Is Netanyahu’s real mission to prepare the world for war?

Admittedly, there has been talk of such a war numerous times in recent years. But few realize just how close Netanyahu was to ordering the attack.

Media reports indicate that Netanyahu and then-Defense Minister Ehud Barak were ready to order a strike on Iran in 2010, but faced stiff opposition from…

The Percentage Of Americans That Consider Themselves To Be “Lower Class” Is At An All-Time High

Do you consider yourself to be “lower class”? Most Americans wouldn’t dream of thinking that way. Even at the toughest times of my own life, I always considered myself to be “middle class”. Traditionally, the vast majority of Americans have described themselves as either “middle class” or “working class”, but now we are witnessing a huge shift. According to survey results that were just released, the percentage of Americans that identify themselves as “lower class” is now at an all-time high. It is still only 8.4 percent of the country, but the fact that this number is rapidly growing shows that something is changing on a very fundamental level. In America today, less people than ever believe that they have the opportunity to make a better life for themselves, and according to a brand new Gallup poll that was just released, 20 percent of all Americans did not have enough money to buy food that they or their families needed at some point over the past year. We have 47 million people on food stamps and we have more than 100 million Americans enrolled in at least one welfare program, and that does not even count Social Security or Medicare. We have gone from a “land of opportunity” to a land where tens of millions of people are being crushed by the system. (Read More….)

Nation Of Sickos: Should We Be Concerned About The Moral Collapse Of America?

How bad does it have to get before we admit that America is an absolute cesspool of filth and wickedness? The horrific Navy Yard shooting that took place on Monday is yet another reminder that the thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted is rapidly disappearing. At this point, nobody is fully safe anywhere in the United States at any time. Sadly, the Navy Yard shooting was far from an isolated incident. Every day, there are news reports that detail some of the most heinous crimes that you could possibly imagine. In this article, you are going to read about incredibly disturbing things that sickos have done to animals, young children and elderly Americans. The goal is not to entertain you. Rather, I hope to spark a discussion about the moral collapse of America. The United States has become a nation of perverts, sickos and psychopaths, and we need to ask ourselves some very honest questions about why this is happening. No matter what other solutions we may come up with politically and economically, this country is not going to have any kind of a future unless we are able to address the moral decay that is rotting the foundations of this nation at an absolutely astounding pace. Almost 50 million Americans now on food stamps as nation plunges into widespread poverty

According to official U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) numbers, households on food stamps increased by 45,900 in one month, hitting a staggering new high in June of 23.117 million households, with an additional 125,079 individuals signing up for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, a near-record 47.76 million people that is just below the December 2012 peak of 47.79 million.

More than 80% of those families receiving food stamp benefits are at or below the poverty line, with more than 61% of households drastically below the poverty line, making less than $14,648 in a year per household of three.

How America morphed into ‘Bizarro World’

Compared with the vibrant nation it once was, today’s America has become a different country. Divided, angry, squabbling, the world’s largest debtor nation, with rampant divorce, family breakdown and unprecedented sexual anarchy, 1 in 7 on food stamps, 1 in 9 on antidepressants – on so many levels America is disintegrating.

Differing Views on the Rapture

There are two different beliefs with different subsets in one belief. These two beliefs are the Second Coming of Jesus Christ VS. the Rapture of the Church. Is there a difference between the two? Let’s see what each belief embraces and how they line up with the bible. Within the Return of Jesus Christ view, it encompasses post Millennium, Pre Wrath, and Preterits’ view of the End Time return of Jesus Christ. But for this sermon we will deal mostly with Post vs. Pre-Millennial “catching away of the church”.

Does God Exist? – Part II

The Instant

In the previous post, we addressed the issues appropriate for having a discussion regarding the existence of God. Now, in this next part regarding the question of God’s existence and what can be said about it, I wish to formulate and extend a particular argument for God’s existence. An argument which, is perhaps one of the oldest and yet most famous a posteriori arguments that has taken place within the great conversation of philosophy. Before I do so however, I wish to only clarify a few things here and from the previous post.

Particularly, the goal of this series is to not necessarily be “agnostic friendly.” Not in the sense that agnostics and their opinions on these issues are not welcome, or that I am personally against agnostics as people, but rather that their position in respect to God’s existence is one that doesn’t own up to intellectual responsibility demanded…

Are You Building Your Own Facade of Self-Righteousness?

Possessing the Treasure

by Mike Ratliff

28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.” 29 A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth. 30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.  (John 19:28-30 ESV)
Sometimes God brings things into our lives that seem devastating. Others may also see these things in our lives and question that God even exists. They cannot conceive of a loving God who would cause or allow debilitating diseases that are always fatal into the fragile bodies of those who profess faith in the Saviour. However, I am always amazed at the deep, rock hard faith displayed by those in the center of these things, whether it is the one suffering or a close…
