NTEB News: ‘Nobody Is Born Gay’ Billboard Campaign Raises LGBT Anger

PFOX billboard in Virginia ignites firestorm of controversy

“For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;” Romans 1:26-28

Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays (PFOX) is a national non-profit organization committed to helping ex-gays and parents and friends of gays who want help, hope and community, so says their info the About Us section of their website. They go on to say that PFOX exists to educate, support, and advocate for individuals and parents on the issue of same-sex attraction, and increase others’ understanding and acceptance of the ex-gay community. Now their billboard campaign has ignited a firestorm of controversy in Virginia with people on both sides of the issue sounding off.

Many ex-gays will tell you that at one point in their life they thought they were “born gay.”, PFOX states. The reality is that no scientific evidence has established a genetic cause for homosexuality or found a “gay gene.” There is no DNA or medical test to determine if a person is homosexual. Sexual orientation is a matter of self-affirmation and public declaration. “Gay” is a self-chosen identity. According to the American Psychiatric Association, there are no replicated scientific studies to support that people can be born “gay” or that homosexuality is innate.

According to the American Psychological Association, “although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors.”

LGBT spokesperson Beth Panilaitis, Executive Director at Rosmy, an organization that supports LGBTQ youth, said  “I am shocked and really disappointed that at the end of 2014, we have a billboard in the middle of our city that says that kind of hate.”

NTEB reviewed the claims of PFOX, and found nothing “hateful” anywhere on the site. Certainly, in a free and open society, opposing views are allowed or should be allowed as part of the national conversation. But it is a typical tactic of the LGBT Mafia to out-of-hand dismiss any and all dissent to their position as “hateful and intolerant”. The LGBT does not allow for any points of view that run contrary to their message. Either you agree with them or they attack you by any means they have at their disposal.

Stories that highlight the massive intolerance and hate wielded by the LGBT Mafia include stories like the Colorado Christian Baker Forced To Make A Gay-Themed Wedding Cake, the Lost Reality Show Of The Benham Brothers, the Attack On Duck Dynasty, the Massive Fine Levied To Christian Farm Owners, the draconian Chase Bank LGBT Employee Survey Question, and the list goes on and on.

NTEB applauds PFOX for presenting their message in an articulate and intelligent fashion without resorting to emotional attacks or rebuttals. Clearly this conversation is not over.
