There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true. —Soren Kierkegaard. "…truth is true even if nobody believes it, and falsehood is false even if everybody believes it. That is why truth does not yield to opinion, fashion, numbers, office, or sincerity–it is simply true and that is the end of it" – Os Guinness, Time for Truth, pg.39. “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” – Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
God’s Name Much on the Tongue and Little in the Heart Exodus 20:7; Deuteronomy 5:11; Matthew 5:33–37; James 5:12
No oath is in itself simply good, and voluntarily to be used; but only as medicines are, in case of necessity. But to use it ordinarily and indifferently, without being constrained by any cogent necessity, or called to it by any lawful authority, is such a sin as wears off all reverence and dread of the Great God: and we have very great cause to suspect that where his name is so much upon the tongue, there his fear is but little in the heart.

The Church Is Not an Inn 1 Corinthians 11:22
Christ could not suffer that the temple should serve for a marketplace, nor the apostle of Christ that the church should be made an inn.

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee; he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22)
It is a heavy burden; roll it on Omnipotence. It is thy burden now, and it crushes thee; but when the Lord takes it, He will make nothing of it. If thou art called still to bear, “he will sustain thee.” It will be on Him and not on thee. Thou wilt be so upheld under it that the burden will be a blessing. Bring the Lord into the matter, and thou wilt stand upright under that which in itself would bow thee down.
Our worst fear is lest our trial should drive us from the path of duty; but this the Lord will never suffer. If we are righteous before Him, He will not endure that our affliction should move us from our standing. In Jesus He accepts us as righteous, and in Jesus He will keep us so.
What about the present moment? Art thou going forth to this day’s trial alone? Are thy poor shoulders again to be galled with the oppressive load? Be not so foolish. Tell the Lord all about thy grief and leave it with Him. Don’t cast your burden down and then take it up again; but roll it on the Lord and leave it there. Then shalt thou walk at large, a joyful and unburdened believer, singing the praises of thy great Burden-bearer.
When you think about your life in this world, do you ever feel like a fish out of water, or that you stand out like a sore thumb? Are you ever surprised by the fiery trials the Lord chooses to bring your way? Do you get overwhelmed with how it seems that more and more the world looks at us and thinks we Christians are strange? Are you ever shocked by how the world wonders why we just cannot go along with the flood of sinful changes that are drowning our culture today? Do you feel as though we are entering into a new era of exile? But do you desire with all your heart to stand up and stand out by being ready to speak to all about the hope we have been given?
Take heart, pilgrim, we have been given a message of hope! We find it wonderfully summarized for us in the inspired words of 1 Peter.
Peter, a man who knew all about failure and opposition, was once blundering and proud, but as an eyewitness of Christ’s majesty, a recipient of His restorative grace, also became someone who knew a thing or two about God’s grace and hope.
Peter writes to pilgrims, aliens, exiles and strangers who are dispersed throughout Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey). They are sojourners who can live by grace with strong hope because as sojourners they can live with the assurance that they are on their way to an incorruptible inheritance with Jesus that is reserved in heaven for them and does not fade away.
The relevance for us today, as sojourners living in exile in a post-Christian culture, should be obvious. We are given a message of hope – a living, lasting and secure hope. Let us dig into this hope together and pray that we may be encouraged, as well as equipped to share it with others!
Grace for sojourners
Grace to you and peace be multiplied. – 1 Peter 1:2c
Scripture reading: 1 Peter 1:1-2
The life of a Christian, a pilgrim, a sojourner is not always easy. There are trials, opposition and the challenge of being perceived as different. Peter begins his letter to sojourners with grace. Grace to you and peace!
Peter had come to know through hard and blessed experience that his salvation and place as the Lord’s servant was all because of grace. He was amazed by grace and could not stop talking about it. Peter’s tone will be a tone of grace.
We come to know ourselves as God’s sojourners – by grace! The loving and gracious plan of the Father, the powerfully gracious work of the Spirit to make this blessing real in our lives, and the obedience and sprinkling of Jesus to give us peace with God – is all undeserved grace. We rest in the obedience and sacrifice of Jesus once and for all – that too is grace. And, as we continue to struggle against sin, we continue to take refuge in the blood, passion and death of our Saviour. That is enduring grace!
In Christ, we are chosen by God and precious. We have also been chosen for such a time as this and for these struggles. As elect pilgrims, we have been chosen to be sojourners. That too is grace. Living in exile will not always be easy, but God’s grace is more than enough. The grace God gives us and the peace we enjoy, as a result, is a blessing that is multiplied. God is not cheap with His grace. His grace abounds. Blessed be God!
Suggestions for prayer
Reflect on the wonder of God’s grace in your life. Count the ways you experience God’s grace and ask Him to help you talk to others about it with a tone of grace. Pray that you will always begin with and return to a deep appreciation of grace.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
This morning, I met with two friends who expressed that they are learning to trust Jesus at deeper levels. He has been faithful through many valleys and twists and turns in their journey. Now, one friend has to trust Him through the journey of failing health — not knowing what is around the corner. We affirmed that we would choose to trust the Lord through challenges and storms and that we needed deeper levels of joy and peace.
Paul reminds us that God is our hope. He is perfect, able, almighty, and greater than anything. He does not change, He is faithful, He keeps His word, and His flawless character assures His promises. He is able to fill us completely with joy and peace if we trust Him. To trust Him is to believe in His steadfast strength.
Paul says that in the power of the Holy Spirit, our peace and joy overflows — and will be more than enough. Is the LORD your source of confident hope? Will you choose to trust Him and rest in Him so you can find overflowing joy and peace?
We need the Holy Spirit to calm our hearts and give us the joy and peace we seek. It takes discipline to keep our eyes on Jesus and to look to Him as our source of hope. This involves staying in His word, surrendering afresh, and asking for the power to trust Him and experience overflowing joy and peace daily, and sometimes, even moment by moment!
LORD, as an act of our will we set our eyes on You today and look again to You as our source of hope. Thank You that You are greater than whatever set of circumstances we find ourselves in. Fill us by Your Spirit till we overflow with joy and peace. Calm our hearts and help us receive from You everything we need as we trust You. Amen.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust. It can’t be half-hearted. Either it is a full trust or it is clouded with suspicion and doubt. So, as we face the everyday challenges of life, or as we look for answers to deep and difficult problems, let’s put our full trust in the LORD. Let’s ask for his wisdom and guidance as we make our choices. Let’s give him praise for the good in our life and seek his blessing for the days ahead. Why? Because he longs to bless us with life, both now, and forevermore.
O LORD, my Lord, I place my trust in you. Please guide my steps as I seek to bring you glory. Help me in the decisions I face. Give me discernment as I seek to influence others and to share your grace with them. Give me the right words to say so that I can have a redemptive influence on my family, with my friends, and among my co-workers. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

All but the Love of God Is Vanity Ecclesiastes 1:2, 14; 2:17; 3:19; 12:8
We have daily snares in our meat and drink, in our wandering eye, our idle tongue, the inconstancy of our hearts, and distaste for good works. Honor, riches, and power are but vanity, and what seek you in the world; or what do you desire to see in the world, which is nothing and vanity? For all is vanity, frailty, and deceit but the love of God, and perseverance in well-doing.

Monsoon thunderstorms wreak havoc at Zion National Park The North American monsoon is bringing much-needed rainfall across the Desert Southwest this week amid a relatively late start to the monsoonal season in many locations across the region. Over an inch of rain fell during a one-hour stretch Tuesday afternoon at Zion National Park in southwestern Utah, creating a muddy mess that impacted traffic in the area. The downpours triggered flash flooding which resulted in mudflows that forced debris onto roads and also forced state route 9 to be closed for a period of time.
Coldest inhabited place on Earth is baking in record heat Oymyakon, Russia, which is widely considered the coldest inhabited place on Earth, is not living up to its reputation. The town hit a maximum recorded temperature of 88.8 degrees Fahrenheit (31.6 degrees Celsius) on Tuesday, the hottest it has ever been in June. The last three days in Oymyakon have been similarly hot, with temperatures reaching 86 F.

Every ‘racist’ Confederate statue the House voted to remove from Congress is of a Democrat Democrats are constantly talking about “having difficult conversations” and “acknowledging the evils of American history” — and yet, whenever they have the chance to wipe out a conversation starter, it is torn down, ripped out or burned to ashes. This was again the case on Tuesday when the Democratic House majority — along with some Republicans — passed a bill to remove statues of Confederates from the Capitol, all of which happen to be commemorative of Democrats like former Confederate States President Jefferson Davis and former Chief Justice Roger Taney. Amid an upsurge of illegal immigration at the southern border, a resurgence of the Taliban in Afghanistan and a looming inflationary crisis, why is Congress debating which 150-year-old statues are allowed to stay?
Trump issues statement on Gen. Milley; calls him liar, trying to ‘impress radical left,’ calls for resignation Gen. Mark Milley’s greatest fear is upsetting the woke mob. When Black Lives Matter rioters were threatening to destroy Washington, D.C., he practically begged me not to send in the military to stop the riots. Milley later issued an embarrassing and groveling apology for walking at my side to St. John’s Church, which far-left rioters almost burned to the ground the day before. Instead of denouncing the rioters, he denounced himself—a humiliation for our Military. A year later even the Fake News had to admit that their Lafayette Square narrative was a giant lie. Milley, once again, looked like a fool.

“Panic Porn Dressed Up As Science” – Exposing The Truth About The Delta Variant But is the Delta variant really “far more contagious” than earlier iterations of SARS-CoV-2? Daniel Horowitz explains that the existing data suggests Delta isn’t any deadlier or more infectious than other strains. Horowitz described the warnings from epidemiologists and public health bureaucrats like Dr. Fauci as “panic porn dressed up as science.” The implication from these headlines is that somehow this variant is truly more transmissible and deadly (as the previous variants were falsely portrayed to be), they escape natural immunity and possibly the vaccine — and therefore, paradoxically, you must get vaccinated and continue doing all the things that failed to work for the other variants!

Israel prepares for the pre-Messiah Sabbatical year, nations offer to provide bounty As the Hebrew year nears its end, preparations are being made for the shemittah year. Despite the Biblical promise of bounty, Jews in Israel are quite concerned about ensuring a source of food for the shemittah year. Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, the chief rabbi of Tsfat (Safed) and a member of the Chief Rabbinate Council, shut down one of the sources that many religious Jews utilize; produce purchased from Arab farmers in Israel. “It is our moral obligation not to provide an income to those who wish us ill,” Rabbi Eliyahu was quoted as saying by Hebrew-language media outlets. “It is a religious commandment to buy from Jews and not Arabs.”
THE GREAT DECEPTION IS COMING… And Terry James Believes A UFO Set-Up Is About To Become “THE GREAT END-TIMES LIE” It’s all about the war. An invisible war. While the extreme heat wave has likely peaked, dangerous temperatures are still forecast across the region through the end of this week. A noticeable drop in temperatures is expected on July 7 and 8.
Hater Mongers At Washington Post Says You Must Feel A ‘Deep Shame’ For Being White And Gives Steps On How To Overcome Your ‘White Racial Identity’ There is a movement underway to, not erase racism, but to deeply entrench racism and racist policies across America, and it is being promoted by garbage news outlets like Jeff Bezos’ Washington Post, quite possible one of the worst news organizations ever to exist. The new talking point is that white people are incapable of not being racist because, well, they’re white, and the ‘white racial identity’ must be expunged like so much cancerous tissue. But you don’t have to take my word for it, we have a video that shows you all this, and much more, from the mouths of the white-hating Liberals who want to get rid of all white people.
Starting August 20th, Abu Dhabi Will Be Closing Nearly All Public Areas To People Who Have Not Been Vaccinated With The COVID-19 Vaccine What’s happening now in Abu Dhabi is happening in cities, towns and states around the world, the forced segregation of those people who refuse to receive the experimental COVID-19 mRNA vaccine. There are no assurances the jab is safe, no guarantee it won’t harm or kill them, and worse, no accountability if it does.
Jill Biden and Doug Emhoff, Kamala Harris’s husband, were on the last stop of their jab America promo tour when they visited the Isaac Middle School vaccination clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. Coincidentally, this last stop landed them just 2.2 miles from the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, home of the historic Arizona audit.
Their efforts are to vaccinate anybody and everybody. There are no assurances the jab is safe, no guarantee it won’t harm or kill them, and worse, no accountability if it does. Maybe they’ll offer a 90 written apology(?)
One Twitter user opined on the “First Lady’s” visit, Congratulations! You’re the only one from your administration that has come close to the border.
After touring the facility, Mrs. Biden and Mr. Emhoff held an invite-only press briefing, careful to include only fawning reporters and those who wouldn’t dare challenge them with unfriendly questions.
Outside, however, where reality was still taking place, protestors held up signs saying, “Trump Won” while many held signs challenging the safety of the experimental shots. Other patriots protested the unwelcome visit by the pair shouting, “Traitors go home!”
No stranger to getting heckled, Mrs. Biden has experienced the verbal “down-votes” before. Last week, we reported on the less-than-warm reception she received in Nashville as she pimped a Brad Paisley crowd for more takers of the jab:
For example, over the past couple of years I have been consistently warning that global weather patterns were starting to go completely nuts, and at first there were some people that didn’t believe me. But now nobody can deny that global weather patterns have become really, really weird.
At this moment, the Northwest is being slammed by a “heat dome” that is absolutely unprecedented. In the past, there have been times when the weather has gotten really hot and a city or two may set a new high temperature record for a particular date, but this week we are seeing city after city shatter their all-time records for hottest temperature ever recorded on any date. We have never seen anything like this before, and hopefully this does not become “the new normal”.
The following are 14 astonishing facts about the blistering heatwave that is absolutely frying the Northwest right now…
#1 According to CBS News, this heatwave is “more rare than a once in a 1,000 year event”…
The heat wave baking the U.S. Pacific Northwest and British Columbia, Canada, is of an intensity never recorded by modern humans. By one measure it is more rare than a once in a 1,000 year event — which means that if you could live in this particular spot for 1,000 years, you’d likely only experience a heat dome like this once, if ever.
#2 CBS News Meteorologist Jeff Berardelli is reporting that there is only a “1/10,000+ chance” that a heat dome of this magnitude could form over the Northwest…
In a Politico exposé reminiscent of a Feb. 2019 New York Times in which over fifty current and former staffers decried her dysfunctional campaign (h/t @mattdizwhitlock), Harris and her Chief of Staff, Tina Flournoy, are slammed for running an office with “low morale, porous lines of communication and diminished trust among aides and senior officials.”
“It all starts at the top,” said one administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity (as they all did).
“People are thrown under the bus from the very top, there are short fuses and it’s an abusive environment,” said another person with direct knowledge of Harris’ office. “It’s not a healthy environment and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like shit.”
The last time such a serious moral and theological divide separated Southern Baptist churches, a massive and successful 10-year campaign to retake the convention was launched.
In mid-June the New England Journal of Medicine published a study called “Preliminary FIndings of mRNA Covid-19 Vaccine Safety in Pregnant Persons” by Tom T. Shimabukuro and others from the Center of Disease Control’s “v-safe COVID-10 Pregnancy Registry Team.” The team wrote that there were “no obvious safety signals among pregnant [women] who received Covid-19 vaccines” even though it published a table which showed that 82% of women in the study who were injected with either the Pfizer or the Moderna vaccine during early pregnancy lost their babies. More prominent in their study was a claim that only 13.9% of all “completed pregnancies” had ended in miscarriage — but this figure included the women who were not vaccinated until they were in the second half of their pregnancies.
The Kentucky Republican took to Twitter on Tuesday with some statistics on the contagion’s delta strain, which originated in India.
“Don’t let the fearmongers win,” Mr. Paul told his 3.2 million followers. “New public England study of delta variant shows 44 deaths out of 53,822 (.08%) in unvaccinated group. Hmmm.”
Mr. Paul’s tweet follows a video message by Dr. Anthony Fauci on the issue that President Biden shared on June 24.
“Here’s the deal: The Delta variant is more contagious, it’s deadlier, and it’s spreading quickly around the world — leaving young, unvaccinated people more vulnerable than ever,” Mr. Biden tweeted in conjunction with the NIAID director’s commentary. “Please, get vaccinated if you haven’t already. Let’s head off this strain before it’s too late.”
Los Angeles County answered the president’s call, for example, by urging citizens to wear masks inside, even if they are fully vaccinated.
“With increase circulation of the highly transmissible delta variant, the Los Angeles County of Public Health (Public Health), strongly recommends everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks indoors,” health officials said in a statement released Monday.
Mr. Paul has been a consistent critic of Dr. Fauci and has insisted that he’s been correct “all along” regarding his handling of the pandemic.
“As you can see, emails that have been released now under Freedom of Information Act show two very important things: Fauci has been lying. I’ve been right all along,” the senator recently wrote in an email to supporters.
Speaking on her podcast, former Fox News host Megyn Kelly ripped Critical Race Theory being inculcated in children in schools across the nation, blasting, “It’s abuse toward children.”
Kelly was interviewing famed historian Victor Davis Hanson about various issues when they came to the subject of implementing Critical Race Theory issues into the military.
Hanson stated:
They have really lost support of the very people in America that were the backbone of their military, and the backbone of the military support for the military. And I’m really afraid of it, because I talk with people, and they said, “You know what? If the Left wants to cut the military budget — and they do — maybe they’ll cut Critical Race Theory training, ha ha.” I said, “Well, they won’t.” But maybe that’s what they need. That’s what people are saying. And I think we’re going to have families that served for three generations and four that are not going to volunteer to join the military. And I’m worried about it.
“It was bad enough when they were indoctrinating college students, right?” Kelly responded. “College students tend to be more left-leaning, and they’re experimenting with ideas, and I think one’s rationality sets in; they tend to make up their own minds, one way or the other. They don’t all keep that indoctrination forever. At least, it used to be thus.”
“But now, we’re seeing in today’s day and age is, they’re infecting — and forget corporate America, that’s already spread in sports and so on, but they’re infecting kids,” she continued. “Young children they’re indoctrinating with these divisive messages. Our military — I mean, those things are going to have — it’s abuse toward children. And it’s endangering the men and women in the military and our country as a result.”
Kelly then segued to how the military should ideally function as she turned to the story of her next guest:
So next up on the show is Marcus Luttrell; I’m interviewing him next. And he’s the guy — he’s a Navy Seal and he wrote “Lone Survivor” and they made a movie about him starring Mark Wahlberg. And it’s all about this horrific experience he had in Afghanistan with his comrades who were all killed; he was the lone survivor. But you watch — I went back and watched the movie recently to prepare for the interview — there’s no black; there’s no brown; there’s no white; there’s none of that. It’s a brotherhood. Those Seals, they don’t see skin color; they see a brotherhood. They would die for each and every one of the guys who they fight with. They would die for this country every day of the week. Marcus would die for Texas every day of the week. And they do. They do.
Kelly turned to the recent remarks from Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Mark Milley when he defended the reading of Critical Race Theory (CRT) texts by the United States military: “For Milley to go in there and try to make the military or their relationship about their melanin is so undermining of what they stand for and the overall messaging and mission; I feel like he should be fired. It’s so irresponsible.”
