In my research of Dr. Fauci, who heads the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases, it has become evident to me that he has a long record of making risky and irresponsible decisions about virus research.
In a prior article I quoted the dollar amount paid to the Wuhan Lab by NIH as $3.7 million. It has now been revealed that the true funding amounted to $7.4 million.
There is a term which I have been seeing frequently during this global nightmare – GOFR which means “Gain of Function Research.” In lay terms, it simply means manipulating a virus or adding to its capabilities.
There could be a host of functions added to the corona virus. One of these could be to increase the infectiousness of the virus. Another might dramatically increase the danger to humans who become infected.
And conversely, the virus could be tweaked to be less infectious. These are truly ‘mad scientists’ and I place Dr. Fauci at the very top – being enabled by Bill Gates et al.
I have read that blood clots are developing in recovered patients of Covid-19. Another side effect which doctors are seeing is a skin infection, actually called “Covid Toes” because it strikes the foot/toes more than other areas of the body. Sometimes it resembles gangrene.
A man who had recovered from Covid-19 had to have his leg amputated because of a blood clot. Another patient who developed a blood clot in the brain; during the operation to remove the clot, the surgeon noticed long spindly structures hanging off of the clot.
Dr. Fauci Backed Funding for Controversial Wuhan Lab With Millions of U.S. Dollars For Risky Coronavirus Research
Dr. Anthony Fauci, a member of the coronavirus task force, had previously backed funding for a controversial lab in Wuhan, China, that has been studying the coronavirus in bats, reports said.
Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases had shelled out a total of $7.4 million to the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab — which has become the focus of theories about the origin of COVID-19, according to Newsweek.
The National Institutes of Health, which oversees the NIAID, shut down all funding to the lab last week.
“At this time, NIH does not believe that the current project outcomes align with the program goals and agency priorities,” a deputy director at the agency wrote in a letter obtained by Politico.
There is “increasing confidence” among officials in the Trump administration that the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab is the original site of the virus. A report by Fox News said embassy officials warned in January 2018 about inadequate safety there.
The NIH defended its funding of the lab in a statement to Newsweek.
“Most emerging human viruses come from wildlife, and these represent a significant threat to public health and biosecurity in the US and globally,” the statement read.
“Scientific research indicates that there is no evidence that suggests the virus was created in a laboratory.” source
And that’s Dr.Fauci’s stand and he is sticking to it. Many of us have connected the dots and realize that Fauci is lying to stay out of jail.
I think that jail would be perfect for the doctor, considering that he is an international terrorist.

As we observe the aberrant and mystical teachings in so many of our churches, my heart breaks for the members in these congregations who are either not yet born again, are babes in Christ – or are lacking discernment. They are prey for the evil one – they have no spiritual armor to defend themselves, and to distinguish between God’s Truth and counterfeit satanic lies.
Question: “What is the spiritual gift of discerning spirits?
Answer:The gift of discerning spirits, or “distinguishing” spirits, is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit described in1 Corinthians 12:4-11. Like all these gifts, the gift of discerning spirits is given by the Holy Spirit, who disperses these gifts to believers for service in the body of Christ. Every believer has a spiritual enablement for a specific service, but there is no room for self-choosing. The Spirit distributesspiritual gifts according to the sovereignty of God and in accordance with His plan to edify the body of Christ. He gives His gifts “just as he determines” (1 Corinthians 12:11). (Emphasis added)
When it comes to the gift of discerning spirits, every born-again believer has a certain amount of discernment, which increases as the believer matures in the Spirit. In Hebrews 5:13-14 we read that a believer who has matured beyond using the milk of the Word as a babe in Christ is able to discern both good and evil. The maturing believer is empowered by the Spirit of God through the Scriptures to tell the difference between good and evil, and, beyond that, he can also distinguish between what is good and what is better. In other words, any born-again believer who chooses to focus on the Word of God is spiritually discerning. (emphasis added)
There are certain believers, however, who have the spiritual gift of discerning spirits—that is, the God-given ability to distinguish between the truth of the Word and the deceptive doctrines propagated by demons. We are all exhorted to be spiritually discerning (Acts 17:11; 1 John 4:1), but some in the body of Christ have been given the unique ability to spot the doctrinal “forgeries” that have plagued the church since the first century. This discernment does not involve mystical, extra-biblical revelations or a voice from God. Rather, the spiritually discerning are so familiar with the Word of God that they instantly recognize what is contrary to it. They do not receive special messages from God; they use the Word of God to “test the spirits” to see which line up with God and which are in opposition to Him. The spiritually discerning are diligent to “rightly divide” (2 Timothy 2:15 ) the Word of God. (emphasis added) – source
I’ve heard it said that discernment is the ability to tell the difference between right and almost right.
We know that satan takes a little bit of truth and then twists it with his lies. We read about this in Genesis when he deceived Eve into disobeying God. The devil’s tactics have not changed since the beginning.
Our Lord Jesus was tempted by Satan in the Wilderness:
Satan attempted to deceive our Lord Jesus in the wilderness. Jesus came back at him with Pure Scripture “It is written” He said, and the evil one finally departed. Jesus was teaching us to do the same. The Bereans did it, and it won them a mention in the Book of Acts:
“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so” (Acts 17:11).
We are admonished to study the Scriptures to keep us safe:
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
“That we henceforth be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men and their cunning and craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive” (Ephesians 4:14).
The Gift of Discerning of Spirits
I’ve been a believer since January of 1983. In 1984 I made a friend in our neighborhood who attended my church, and we would ride together to choir on Wednesday nights.
One of those nights she gave me a bunch of cassettes and told me “You will love this preacher.” I told her that I would give him a listen. The next day I put the first cassette in while I did dishes. The preacher was Kenneth Copeland. I listened to about ten minutes of this man and turned him off.
I was a babe in the Lord and no one told me that Copeland’s teaching was questionable. I just knew that God did not want me listening to that man. He talked about never being sick – NEVER. He said he never even got a cold. Then he made jokes about a man who was feeling blessed because God had allowed him to get a used Chevy that he had wanted. Copeland said, “I told that man that if that was truly from the Lord, he should have asked for a Cadillac – and a brand new one!” He laughed at his own lame joke.
That’s when I turned it off. That’s when I knew that Kenneth Copeland was not someone that my Lord Jesus would want me listening to. I should never get sick? I should be rich because I’m a Christian?
Was this true? Should Christians never be sick? Should we all be rich because we’re children of God? Something didn’t ring true. I had to go to the only place I knew would have the answer, my Bible. I knew that I had a bad feeling as I listened to Copeland, and I knew that God had urged me to turn him off. I wanted to know the truth.
I went to Acts in my Bible. I was sure I’d be able to see how the first Christians lived. I’d find out if they were prosperous and disease free. What I found was what I suspected to be true. The Apostles were jailed, tortured and ultimately killed, except for John. And he had been boiled in oil, yet lived because of the Lord.
Then I went to the Gospel of John to see what Jesus said about our lives as His followers.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
Luke wrote:
“And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:27).
Revelation 21:4 says:
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
We Share in the Sufferings of Christ
Suffering, tribulations, bearing our own cross, pain, crying, and death – well, this was a far cry from what I had heard Kenneth Copeland preaching. That was my first experience with discernment from the Lord. It was overwhelming to me to know that my heavenly Father protected me from the heresy I heard when I was a little more than a year old in Him! Many years later I realized that He had given me the Gift of Discerning of Spirits.
But brethren, don’t forget that every true child of God has some discernment, and as God’s child studies the Word of God diligently, he/she becomes more discerning.
I look around today and I am shocked at the lack of discernment in many Christians. How could someone who was drawn by the Holy Spirit and born-again in Him, listen to a motivational speaker like Joel Osteen, and then rave about him as an amazing preacher? Really? Which part of “Your Best Life Now” would not be a big red flag that this man is NOT preaching the gospel of Christ?
How can a born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ not know that the Emergent churches and now the New Apostolic Reformation churches/cults (NAR) are not God’s will? There are many reasons why millions have been drawn to these heretical teachers. But I think that the main reason that people are duped so quickly is that they are NOT reading their Bibles.
My Honesty is now called “Hate speech”
People who know me know that I’ll be honest with them, even if that means they might not like what I am saying. When I hear someone talk about Benny Hinn and how much they enjoyed his crusade and how many people were healed, I tell them the truth about him. I tell them that he is a fraud, that he talks to the dead, that he believes we are little gods, and that he says that God takes over his mind at times before he preaches, and doesn’t remember one word he has said. Our God is a God of order – not confusion. We know who is the author of confusion!
Should preachers live like kings in mansions? The only mansions I have read about in the Word are the ones Jesus is preparing for those who love Him. Christians have no problem seeing their favorite “preacher” living in a $10 million dollar estate. I am not saying that a pastor of a large church should live like a pauper. I am saying that a pastor who is living large is not the kind of shepherd I would ever want to be my pastor.
1 Timothy 6:10 says:
“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
Not “money” itself, but the Love of money. Money can be used in wonderful ways in the body of Christ. It’s when money becomes an idol – that is when it becomes the root of all evil.
The Mine Fields Called Christian Bookstores
Christian bookstores can be a nightmare for someone who lacks discernment. These stores are in business for the same reason anyone goes into business—to make money. One would hope that if one of these stores is owned by a blood bought, born-again Christian, that they would have a conviction about what is sold in their establishment. I have yet to find one like that.
The Shack
I remember when The Shack came out. I was in a Christian bookstore and picked up the book and scanned through it. I had the urge to hurl it across the store! I resisted that thought and put it down hard. The clerk gave me a strange look. I walked over and asked if she had read The Shack. The girl said. “Oh yes, it’s great, isn’t it?” OY. God give me patience.
If you have not read The Shack, you are blessed. If you, because of my article, decide to look for it, I do hope that you will see it as garbage. I think more people need to be vocal. If you have discernment from God and you see a brother or sister lacking in discernment, help them!
Prosperity Preachers
I have discerned that the “prosperity” preachers are frauds. I have discerned that “name it and claim it” is not Scriptural. I have discerned that we will never be little gods. All of these teachings could be easily detected as heresy by simply looking in the Word.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
People with itching ears like to hear what makes them feel good. The Bible is not a smorgasbord; pick what you like and leave the rest. The Bible is God’s Word to us. Everything we need to know about Him and about life is found within its pages. How amazing is that? The Creator of the the Universe is our Father, and wants us to know what is good for us and what is not!
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” (2 Timothy 4:3-4).
All Scripture is God-breathed and we must trust it – ALL OF IT – regardless of teachers such as Andy Stanley who teaches that the inerrancy of the Word is “selective.” Brethren, this is devilish. If we go down that path, who is to say which Scriptures are inerrant and which are not? That is a very slippery slope and a lie from the pit of hell.
Itching Ears
Perhaps you have placed yourself under false teaching, and have not repented and trusted Jesus alone for the forgiveness of your sin. There are many preachers who love to tickle itching ears. Does your preacher speak about sin, and how it separates us from God? Does he preach repentance – agreeing with God that you are a sinner, and to turn away from it?
If he does not, then you are playing church. You sign up to help for every event. You may even teach Sunday School. You are a helper at every Vacation Bible School and of course you are on the clean-up team. These are all good things!
But if you think that doing these good deeds will get you into heaven, you have missed the Gospel of Jesus Christ. How many good deeds are enough to gain entry into heaven when you die? Have you never seen this Scripture?
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
The Bible says that God is sending “strong delusion” in these end times. The Bible makes it very clear why God is sending this delusion”
“They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness” (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12).
So if you think you lack discernment, could it be that you have neglected the reading of God’s Word? Perhaps after you study His Word, you will begin to apply what you’ve learned to your life. You may see that the preachers you have been relying on to impart wisdom from God’s Word have actually been preaching a different gospel.
That’s a scary thought, but isn’t it more scary to continue listening to empty and deceitful words?
Get right with God! He sent Jesus to die for you so that you could be reconciled to Him.
Many hymns are like mini-sermons. Look at the words you sing in “Jesus Paid it All”:
“I hear the Savior say, “Thy strength indeed is small; Child of weakness, watch and pray, Find in Me thine all in all.”
Refrain: Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.
Trust Jesus for your salvation. Then pray for discernment as you read His Word.
Francis Schaeffer believes that the church has a heavy responsibility to promote community. He holds that the first step in comprehending Christian community is understanding the individuals who make up the community. The reason: The individual is important to God. He adds, “I am convinced that in the twentieth century people all over the world will not listen if we have the right doctrine, the right polity, but are not exhibiting community” (The Church At The End Of The Twentieth Century, 64).
He stresses “existential living in the community.” The horizontal relationships must all be rooted in the vertical, namely, a relationship with God. He holds that the primary responsibility is developing community within the church. He does not minimize the importance of reaching out to the lost but contends the community of the faithful must come first.
We Must Practice Purity
Schaeffer expresses his passion for maintaining purity in the church by appealing to the bride motif in Scripture. “As the bride of Christ, the church is to keep itself pure and faithful which involve two principles that seem to work against each other” (The Church Before The Watching World, 115). These principles include the practice of purity in regard to doctrine and life and the practice of an observable love and oneness among all true Christians regardless of who they happen to be.
Ultimately our task is to exhibit simultaneously the holiness and the love of God. Schaeffer explains this complex responsibility. “If we stress the love of God without the holiness of God, it turns out only to be compromise. But if we stress the holiness of God without the love of God, we practice something that is hard and lacks beauty” (The Church Before The Watching World, 152).
The method for practicing purity within the church is the consistent practice of church discipline (noted above as one of the norms of the New Testament church). Schaeffer unapologetically believes that anyone who rejects the teaching of Scripture in belief or practice should be placed under church discipline – the very purity of Christ’s church is at stake.
Drawing further on the bride motif, Schaeffer warns Christians from committing spiritual adultery: “The bride of Christ can be led away and can become less than the bride should be. As there can be physical adultery, so too there can be unfaithfulness to the divine Bridegroom – spiritual adultery” (The Church Before The Watching World, 139). Further, “To turn away from the divine Bridegroom is to turn to unfufillment. This is not only sin, it is destruction” (The Church Before The Watching World, 147).
The moment by moment experience with the Bridegroom is an extremely important issue in Schaeffer’s thinking. He believes that evangelicals, for the most part, have banked on the doctrine of justification by faith alone but they have failed to live in the light of this teaching: “As the bride puts herself in the bridegroom’s arms on the wedding day and then daily, and as therefore children are born, so the individual Christian is to put himself in the Bridegroom’s arms, not only once for all in justification, but existentially, moment by moment” (The Church Before The Watching World, 135). Moreover, “We are to act as that we are. We are not just going to heaven. We are even now the wife of God. We are at this moment the bride of Christ. And what does our divine Bridegroom want from us? He wants from us not only doctrinal faithfulness, but our love day by day” (The Church Before The Watching World, 148).
We Must Demonstrate the Reality of Christianity
Schaeffer does not stop with doctrinal and existential faithfulness to Christ. He contends that we must also demonstrate the reality of the Christian faith in tangible ways to the watching world. He holds that the essential quality of a believer is love for one another (John 13:35).
Despite Schaeffer’s vigorous attempts to provide a defense of the Christian faith, he contends that love for one another and a unified body provide the basis for the unbeliever to become interested in the Christian faith. He calls this love and unity “the final apologetic.” He offers this challenge to the evangelical church: Our love will not be perfect, but it must be substantial enough for the world to be able to observe or it does not fit into the structure or the verses in John 13 and John 17. And if the world does not observe this among true Christians, the world has a right to make two awful judgments which these verses indicate: that we are not Christians and that Christ was not sent by the Father (The Mark Of The Christian, 197).
We Must Engage in a Christian Revolution
Schaeffer contends that the evangelical church must return to the base of Scripture and embark on a Christian revolution. He maintains the church must be pitted against everyone who has turned away from God and the revelation of the Word of God. He believes the implications of revolution are threefold: First, Christians must realize that there is a difference between being a co-belligerent and an ally. Second, the church must take truth seriously (Here is the repeated emphasis on antithesis). Third, the church must be a real place of community (as noted above).
He provides two basic principles for being a revolutionary Christian. First, we need a Christianity that is strong, not a mere memory. He simply calls this “hot Christianity.” Second, our Christianity must become truly universal; relevant to all segments of society and all societies of the world. He refers to this as “compassionate Christianity.”
Schaeffer does not believe, however, that mere revolution is enough. He believes that the church in the modern generation also needs reformation and revival. Reformation refers to a restoration to pure doctrine and a return to the teachings of Scripture. Revival refers to a restoration in the Christian life and a proper relationship to the Holy Spirit.
Reformation and revival must occur simultaneously. Or as Schaeffer puts it, “The great moments of church history have come when these two restorations have simultaneously come into action so that the church has returned to pure doctrine and the lives of the Christians in the church have known the power of the Holy Spirit. There cannot be true revival unless there has been reformation; and reformation is not complete without revival” (Death In The City, 210).
We Must Reclaim the Culture for the Cause of Christ and His Kingdom
This final admonition for Dr. Schaeffer plays a central role in his thinking. He sums up his view in his little book, Back ToFreedom and Dignity. “In short, Christians should prepare to take the lead in giving direction to cultural change.”
The primary issue at hand is a return to the Christian consensus; the Christian worldview. “I tell you in the name of God He will judge our culture unless there is a return to a Christian base for the culture – and that begins with true repentance and renewal in the church” (The Church Before The Watching World, 147).
The most definitive look at Schaeffer’s view in this area is his popular work, A Christian Manifesto. Inspired by Samuel Rutherford who wrote Lex Rex (law is king) in 1644, Schaeffer proceeds to describe the cultural responsibilities of the church. He quotes John Witherspoon approvingly who writes, “A republic once easily poised must either preserve its virtue or lose its liberty.”
He addresses the problem of pluralism and believes “it is up to Christians to show that Christianity is the Truth of total reality in the open marketplace of freedom” (A Christian Manifesto, 440).
He addresses the problem of humanism and writes, “If we are going to join the battle in a way that has any hope of effectiveness – with Christians truly being salt and the light in our culture and our society – then we must do battle on the entire front” (A Christian Manifesto, 445). He continues:
Most fundamentally, our culture, society, government, and law are in the conditions they are in, not because of a conspiracy, but because the church has forsaken its duty to be the salt of the culture. It is the church’s duty (as well as its privilege ) to do now what it should have been doing all the time – to use freedom we do have to be that salt of the culture (A Christian Manifesto, 447).
The answer Schaeffer gives for the enduring problems that America faces is most interesting. He endorses civil disobedience and goes so far to say that a given Christian is disobedient if she does not engage in necessary civil disobedience.
The foundation for Schaeffer’s adherence to civil disobedience may be found in the book, Lex Rex. It essentially proclaims that the law is king, and if the king and the government disobey the law they are to be disobeyed. The logic is defined as follows: All power is from God (Rom. 13) and government is ordained and instituted by God. However, the state is to be administered according to the principles of God’s Law. Acts of the state which contradict God’s Law are illegitimate and are considered acts of tyranny (defined as ruling without the sanction of God).
Therefore, the following principles apply to the Christian church: First, since tyranny is satanic, not to resist it is to resist God. Conversely, to resist tyranny is to honor God. Second, since the ruler is granted conditional power, it follows that the people have the power to withdraw their sanction if the proper conditions are not fulfilled. Third, Christians have a moral obligation to resist unjust and tyrannical government.
Rutherford further explains the steps for a private person engaging in civil disobedience. The first step is to defend oneself by protest (in our society this would most likely take place by exerting legal action). Second, one must flee if at all possible. Finally, one may use force if necessary to defend himself. Dr. Schaeffer mentions that potential protest or withholding of taxes may be used to protest immoral activity such as euthanasia.
Building on the principles set forth in Lex Rex, Dr. Schaeffer suggests a strategy for Christian force in an injustice such as abortion. First, one should aggressively support a human life bill or a constitutional amendment that protects the unborn. Second, one must enter the courts seeking to overturn the Supreme Court’s decision. Third, legal and political action should be taken against hospitals and abortion clinics that perform abortions. Fourth, the state must be made to feel the presence of the Christian community.
Schaeffer’s position is clear. He maintains that the early church engaged in civil disobedience. He uses Caesar as an example who commanded everyone to worship him. The Christians in Rome willingly disobeyed and paid the ultimate price for their act of courage.
Schaeffer, then, issues a challenge to the present day church. “And we must demonstrate to people that there is indeed a bottom line. To repeat: the bottom line is that at a certain point there is not only the right, but the duty to disobey the state (A Christian Manifesto, 485).
If there is no final place for civil disobedience, then the government has been made autonomous, and as such, it has been put in the place of the Living God. If there is no final place for civil disobedience, then the government has been put in the place of the Living God, because then you are to obey it even when it tells you in its own way at the time to worship Caesar (A Christian Manifesto, 491).
To sum up, Dr. Schaeffer challenges the church to stand up and act. The Christian church must respond to the cultural decay or find itself wanting. Francis Schaeffer’s warning in the late 60’s and early 70’s is even more relevant today!

Peter’s reaction to this miraculous catch of fish is very interesting. He was a businessman, an entrepreneur. He might have said: “Jesus, fifty percent of my business is Yours. You do not have to go out on the boat with us every night. You do not have to labor on the docks and repair the nets. All You need to do is to come down here once a month and do the trick You just did, filling my nets.” But that’s not what Peter did. When he saw the nets filled to overflowing, he turned to Jesus and said, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” Essentially, he reacted in the same way as when he and the other disciples witnessed Jesus calming the sea–he became exceedingly afraid. He had seen something he could not explain in human terms. He knew he was in the presence of deity. He might very well have asked the same question the disciples asked: “Who can this be?”
We meet all kinds of people, and as we meet them, we unconsciously sort them. We do this every time we walk down a street, instantly pigeonholing every person we see. Is that person smiling? He seems safe. Is there a look of fury in that person’s eyes? We give him a little extra space because we know what unbridled anger can be like in human beings. We separate everyone into categories: safe, dangerous, nice, cantankerous, whatever. But we do not have a category for someone who can speak to the waves and cause them to obey Him. Such a One is in a class by Himself. This One is so alien, so other, that there is no compartment for Him.
In a word, what the disciples experienced on the Sea of Galilee that night was the holiness of Christ. They liked His power when they were in trouble, so they were quick to wake Him when the boat seemed endangered. But when He showed them His power, they said: “This is not common power. This is holy power. This man is different from every other person on the face of the earth.” And finding themselves in the presence of the Holy One of Israel, they were consumed by fear.

Six of the Texas Democrat lawmakers who fled the Lone Star State last week have contracted COVID-19. Their self-promoting departure was a ridiculous PR stunt aimed at preventing a vote on an election integrity law as they promulgated the false narrative of their fighting against voter suppression. Adding insult to injury, they have further spread the virus to the staff of both House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the White House.
The hypocrisy aspect of this story seems to only be increasing. These fleeing Democrats not only shirked their own legislative duty, they flouted Joe Biden’s federal regulation requiring mask-wearing for air travel. Indeed, they proudly photographed themselves flying on a private charter jet sans masks.
U.S. Representative Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) offered a pointed rebuke of both these Democrats and the mainstream media’s biased coverage of the story: “Imagine if 50 GOP state reps skipped work, drank beer on a private jet while ignoring federal mask mandates, held a press conference to spread flagrant lies that’ve been debunked, and then infected the Speaker’s Office and White House with COVID. Just imagine.”
The Biden administration, which has been at the forefront of the Democrats’ misinformation campaign against voter integrity legislation, predictably refused to criticize the derelict and reckless Texas Democrats. Maintaining the “voter suppression” lie is too important. This was perfectly illustrated by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s Tuesday comments: “Our message continues to be thanks for standing up for voting rights and the rights of Americans to have their voices heard at the voting booth, and we appreciate their efforts in that regard.”
And in yet another move that ironically downplays the very hysteria Biden himself sought to fuel with his “Facebook is killing people” comment, Psaki insisted that Biden would not alter his plans to meet with these COVID super-spreader “hero” Democrats. It’s no problem, Psaki asserted, because “if you are vaccinated, you are protected” and “if you get a case of COVID, it will be mild.” All the Texas Democrats say they were vaccinated. Evidently, promoting the fake narrative is worth risking Biden’s health and maybe leaving us with Kamala Harris.
Drugs, suicides, and murders all played a big part, and much of this was driven by politics.

Just Monday, we noted that there was a 20% increase in American deaths in 2020. Yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that U.S. life expectancy dropped by a year and a half in 2020 — the biggest single-year decline since World War II.
The coronavirus pandemic most certainly played the dominant role in this change, but it’s a lot more complicated than merely people dying of a novel virus. In fact, a large factor was the policies implemented to address the virus.
Widespread lockdowns led to economic devastation and social isolation. That in turn contributed to a 30% spike in overdose deaths in 2020, as well as a big rise in suicides — including a drastic increase in attempts by teenagers.
Then there were policies like New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s order to put COVID-infected individuals in nursing homes, which led to thousands of deaths. Would those folks have died in 2020 anyway without the governor’s order? We’ll never know.
But that brings up an interesting point about COVID itself. The median age of death from coronavirus was older than life expectancy. Our national policy should have been focused on taking care of these more vulnerable among us rather than locking everyone down and causing more harm.
“We didn’t do a particularly good job of protecting [the elderly],” said veteran journalist Brit Hume recently. “We’ve had a high death toll disproportionately among the elderly. And what we did to deal with that is instead of quarantining the elderly and making the most strenuous possible efforts to protect them, we quarantined the healthy as well, shut down the economy, shut down the schools, you know, and with incalculable damage to children, to their education, to their mental health and all the rest of it. And, of course, the toll from that in terms of, you know, mental health issues and failed education and all the rest of it, we won’t know for some years, but we know it’s serious. So this was about as badly handled as any is any public policy issue I can remember.”
Meanwhile, the news media was obliged to highlight the racial component in the life expectancy report. According to CNBC, “Hispanics saw the biggest drop in life expectancy last year, followed by Black Americans.” But there’s also another fact: “Hispanic Americans usually have a longer life expectancy than non-Hispanic Black or white folks.”
The CDC says 90% of the decline for Hispanics was due to COVID-19, while the virus accounts for just 59% of the decline among blacks.
As it turns out, another reason for the decline in life expectancy was the fact that the murder rate spiked by an estimated 25%. Who were the victims of this increase? Often urban blacks killed by other urban blacks following the grossly politicized death of George Floyd. So if there’s a racial element here, it’s not an interracial one. In other words, it’s certainly not “systemic racism” among whites.
Whatever might be said of the decline in life expectancy among Americans, it’s undeniable that political decisions and gamesmanship played an outsized role.
Nationwide awareness and outrage seem to have gotten the attention of the Biden administration.

When a Washington Post headline reads, “Education Department tries to tamp down controversy over U.S. history/civics grant program,” you can bet some Beltway bureaucrats are doing some serious backpedaling.
In this case, the most beleaguered of those bureaucrats is Miguel Cardona, Joe Biden’s secretary of education. It’s his program, after all — a program that incentivizes bribes schools to teach Critical Race Theory — that’s come under fire from conservatives and concerned parents nationwide, including perhaps most famously in Cardona’s proverbial backyard in Loudoun County, Virginia.
“The department published a notice Monday in the Federal Register,” the Post reports, “that dropped references to published anti-racism works that had been mentioned in proposed rules released in April for the American History and Civics Education grant program, and that had drawn the ire of conservatives.”
We sounded the alarm about Cardona back in early January, when he was still just a nominee for education secretary. He had a history, though — one that included pushing CRT while he was Connecticut’s commissioner of education. “There,” as our Brian Mark Weber wrote, “the Anti-Racist Teaching and Learning Collective helped develop the curriculum and provides teachers with professional development opportunities so they can become ‘anti-racist’ advocates. Their recommendation to the State Education Resource Center also prepares students to become anti-racist leaders in their communities.”
The Post tries to imply that the Right’s righteous indignation was much ado about nothing, noting, “The proposed rules did not actually suggest the contested material would be required for grantees to use,” and that Cardona made clear “that curriculum decisions will not be dictated by the federal government.”
Uh-huh. Far be it from the federal government to strong-arm certain behavior at the local level by waving federal funds in front of cash-strapped states, cities, and school districts.
This walk-back from the DOE may appear minor, but it’s a win for all Americans who find it repugnant that our children are being indoctrinated by racist ideologues such as Ibram X. Kendi and rotten historians such as Nikole Hannah-Jones. Our kids are told that they belong to “oppressed” and “oppressor” classes based solely on the color of their skin; that America was founded not with its Declaration of Independence in 1776 but with the landing of the first slave ship on its shores in 1619; that we fought the Revolutionary War to preserve slavery; that blacks were mostly on their own in the fight to abolish that vile institution; that “The only remedy to racist discrimination is anti-racist discrimination. The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.”
As Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell remarked Monday: “Glad that [the Department of Education] listened to Senate Republicans and many, many Americans and is shelving plans to let divisive, debunked propaganda take over programs for promoting civics. Students deserve a rich, rigorous education in civics and our nation’s history.”
The backlash has been building for months now, and there’s leftist blood in the water. With vigilance and unrelenting pushback, historical accuracy and civic decency can yet win the day.
Let’s celebrate this good news, and gird ourselves for the next CRT battle. And the next. And the next.
A shocking new report indicts the nation’s teachers unions.

Certainly for this headline you could probably swap out any number of large (and even medium-sized) urban areas around the nation, but Baltimore already has a reputation as a failure of a school system. That was backed up recently by a story broken by a local television station.
WBFF-TV, Baltimore’s Fox affiliate, ran the latest news as part of a series dubbed “Project Baltimore.” Reporters learned that, in the first three quarters of the 2020-21 academic year, 41% of the high school students in the city had a grade point average of less than 1.0, or less than a D average. Even worse, according to their report: “In January, City Schools CEO Dr. Sonja Santelises first sounded the alarm, announcing the course failure rate for students nearly doubled during the Covid shutdown. A few months later, in May, [the school administration] announced students would not be held back for failing classes. This most recent GPA data could indicate why City Schools made that decision.”
By the way, “nearly doubled” is true. According to that same WBFF-TV report, 24% of students had a similarly low GPA in the 2019-20 academic year. And yes, that’s still shamefully high.
Local reaction to this news showed a significant divide between those who would excuse this lack of performance, blaming it on the pandemic, and those who demanded action.
“These numbers are disturbing, but it is not a surprise that COVID worsened student performance,” said Baltimore City Council member Robert Stokes, who chairs that body’s Education Committee. “Haphazard approaches haven’t solved anything. Our children live in poverty or are surrounded by it every day. Until we address poverty and the systems that allow it to thrive, our children will continue to fail.”
But a local leader with an outsider’s perspective believed heads should roll.
“I know it’s a challenging issue,” said Maryland state Delegate Nino Mangione. “But we should look at some of these leaders in the administration and think, let’s evaluate and let’s start firing people. Because this can’t go on. This cannot go on. People need to lose their jobs for this.” Mangione represents an area of nearby Baltimore County, which is separate from the city of Baltimore.
Baltimore may be an easy mark because of this news station’s reporting, but as stated above, the news is just as bad in smaller cities. For example, South Bend, Indiana, had course failures reportedly double and chronic absenteeism “skyrocket,” explained a report from the South Bend Tribune. The mid-sized city in Indiana may be familiar to readers for two things: The University of Notre Dame lies just outside its city limits, and its most recent previous mayor, Pete Buttigieg, ran for president in 2020 and is now the secretary of transportation under Joe Biden. But the city never had the reputation for academic failure that places such as Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Chicago did.
Sadly, this lost academic year is doing more than holding students back.
The Daily Wire cites two other disturbing studies from academia and government: On the academic side, the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School forecasts a 3.6% reduction in economic productivity as a result of these yearlong school closures, predicting these students will be a “drag on the future GDP of the United States for decades in the future.” Even more ominously, the CDC announced that emergency room visits for suspected suicide attempts among teenage girls rose an alarming 51% during 2020, reflecting the depressing isolation that peer group endured during a time when schools were closed and in-person interaction was frowned upon.
Yet, rather than be concerned about these issues brought on by extended school closures, the major teachers unions strong-armed a compliant CDC regarding the return to face-to-face instruction.
However, the National Education Association has had time in its recent business meeting to throw its full-throated support behind Critical Race Theory and declare war on its opponents. “Its new militant stance on critical race theory provides much-needed clarity to the debate on this issue,” writes Christopher Rufo at City Journal. “The teachers’ union has nationalized critical race theory and committed to the full range of left-wing radicalism, including opposition to ‘capitalism’ and ‘anthropocentrism.’”
Don’t you think it would be better if the teachers union committed itself to the education of all students in the basic courses of reading, writing, math, and proper American history? Too many public schools have a failure rate like Baltimore’s, and that makes for a bad investment of our tax dollars. Perhaps that money should follow the child to whatever educational facility the parents deem to be best for their student?
A “transgender” individual is featured on the latest issue of SI’s swimsuit issue.

The latest edition of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue features a “transgender” model on the cover. The model, Leyna Bloom, is a black and Asian biological male, and he is being used by the brass at SI to further the Left’s ideological attack against society’s and humanity’s historical and biological understanding of sex. That reality is demonstrated by the magazine’s theme: “Opening Eyes, Speaking Truths and Changing Minds.”
In reality, SI and Bloom are involved in doing just the opposite. They’re attempting to hide — or, as the colloquialism of the day puts it, “redefine” — the clear objective nature of sex distinctions inherent in the human species, which makes the reality of procreation even possible. Bloom is a man who’s obviously spent a few bucks to make himself look like a woman, and he’s suffering from gender dysphoria. How’s that for speaking the truth? Truth changing minds is a good thing. The dissemination of blatant lies as if they were “truth” and using bullying and deceptively coercive tactics in order to get people to accede to a lie produces not a changed mind but a manipulated droid.
“Transgender” activism has eroded the societal boundaries marking the inherent distinctions between the sexes. The predicted result of this is that women, the “weaker sex” that has historically and culturally been protected by men, are now being subjected to abuse and victimization by men — ironically, the very type of male dominance feminists sought to highlight and bring to an end.
The egalitarian ideal is being exposed under the reality of biological distinctions despite the claims of the “transgender” activists. So, even in the area of the rank objectification of women, a man has now taken the cake, as it were. It is a mad, mad world we are living in.
A new poll indicates strong bipartisan concern about the vice president’s readiness to lead.

It seems like only yesterday when we wrote a story about a recent poll and said, “Pollsters should be viewed with great suspicion.” So, naturally, today we figured we’d write another story about a recent poll that reveals a critical truth.
This poll is important because it concerns the future of the republic and the future of the politician who many believed would one day soon be running it: Kamala Harris.
A survey by the Trafalgar Group — whom RealClearPolitics called “the most accurate pollster of the cycle among those firms that polled multiple Senate and governor races” — found that 58.6% of respondents were “not confident at all” that Harris is ready to be president “based on her performance as vice president.” An additional 5% said they were “not very confident” in Harris, which means nearly two-thirds of the 1,161 likely voters polled had significant concerns about her readiness.
Perhaps most remarkable about Harris’s tanking numbers, though, is her standing among Democrats. According to Trafalgar, 42.6% of those in her own party were either “not at all confident” or “not very confident” in Harris’s preparedness, while 52.3% were “very confident” or “somewhat confident.”
These numbers are damning to both Harris and the man who picked her — after all, her selection was the first test of Joe Biden’s judgment. Harris is a heartbeat away from the presidency, and her boss is the most cognitively challenged chief executive since the stroke-addled Woodrow Wilson served out the final two years of his second term more than a century ago.
There’s a parallel here, too: The gravity of Wilson’s condition was kept from the American people by his physician and his second wife. The gravity of Biden’s condition is being kept from us by his handlers’ continued refusal to subject him to the same cognitive exam that Donald Trump took (and aced) amid demands from his deranged Democrat detractors.
As for Harris, how the mighty have fallen. It seems like eons ago when the then-junior senator from California launched her presidential campaign with a bang on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in 2019; when she drew more than 20,000 to a rally in her hometown of Oakland. As the lefties at Wikipedia note, “Within 24 hours of the announcement, Harris’s campaign received over $1.5 million in donations from about 38,000 individuals across all fifty states” — an out-of-the-gate performance rivaling that of Bernie Sanders in the 2016 campaign.
But Harris is neither eloquent, nor inspiring, nor transformative. Nor does she believe, as King did, that we should be judged not by the color of our skin but by the content of our character. Instead, she’s a typical race-baiting leftist. Worse, if we’re to believe Politico, she isn’t even particularly likeable. Furthermore, given her frequent missteps, as with her woefully delayed trip to a Texas city a full 800 miles from our nation’s actual border crisis, she doesn’t even appear competent.
As we wrote recently, Harris checked off all the complementary boxes: female to Biden’s male, young to Biden’s old, West Coast to Biden’s East Coast, multiracial to Biden’s racist, normal to Biden’s creepy, sniffable to Biden’s sniffy. Unfortunately for her, there’s a lot more to leadership than checking boxes.
Perhaps Harris’s most glaring weakness is as a retail politician. When she first announced, there were giddy whispers on the Left that she’d be the female Obama — an attractive, mixed-raced Democrat who pulled together that same huge voting coalition. She’s definitely not that. As soon as people learned who Barack Obama (wanted them to think he) was, he drew huge crowds. Harris has done just the opposite.
As political analyst Daniel Greenfield notes: “Kamala is representative of California Democrats who outside the hothouse of their one-party state don’t know how to actually campaign, debate, or do anything except pose for photos. A generation of California Democrats don’t know how to compete because they’ve never had to.”
Think about it: When Barack Obama was president, the joke around the Beltway was that Joe Biden was his “impeachment insurance” — which is to say, anyone foolish enough to try to remove Obama from office would be left with doddering old Biden as president. And here, today, six months into their administration, Harris is so poorly regarded that she’s serving the same sorry purpose that Biden did for Obama.
As Greenfield concludes: “After a long wasted life in politics, Kamala has no religion, no family, and has become the embodiment of the Peter Principle, promoted vastly above her competence, looking at a job that she can almost touch with her manicured hands, but will never be allowed to possess. The most powerful woman in Washington D.C. is actually the weakest.”
Indeed, the presidency is the biggest of offices. And she’s proving herself far too small for it.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has kicked two Republicans off a committee she created to investigate the pro-Trump riot on Capitol Hill in January. Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy responded by pulling all Republicans from the panel.
In a statement on Wednesday, Pelosi said that she rejects the appointment of Republican Reps. Jim Banks (Indiana) and Jim Jordan (Ohio) to a select committee she formed last month to investigate the “root causes” of the pro-Trump riot at the US Capitol on January 6.
Like former President Donald Trump’s supporters who entered the Capitol, Banks and Jordan both objected to Joe Biden’s electoral victory and voted not to certify it. Both are close allies of the former president, and vocal critics of Pelosi. In her statement, Pelosi said that she wouldn’t object to three other Republican nominees, only one of whom voted not to certify Biden’s win.
“With respect for the integrity of the investigation, with an insistence on the truth and with concern about statements made and actions taken by these Members, I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan to the Select Committee,” Pelosi’s statement read. “The unprecedented nature of January 6th demands this unprecedented decision.”
Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-California) responded by declaring that he would pull these remaining representatives from Pelosi’s committee, which he described as a “sham.”
“Unless Speaker Pelosi reverses course and seats all five Republican nominees, Republicans will not be party to their sham process and will instead pursue our own investigation of the facts,” McCarthy tweeted.

From its inception, the committee seemed designed to reach a predetermined conclusion. In a speech announcing its formation, Pelosi declared that “white supremacy…anti-Semitism,” and “Islamophobia” were all responsible for the riot. Even in her statement on Wednesday, Pelosi claimed that “the violent domestic attack on Congress on January 6th was the worst assault on the Capitol since the War of 1812 and the worst domestic assault on American Democracy since the Civil War.”
The riot itself was broken up in a matter of hours, and Congress swiftly resumed its business of certifying Biden’s win. Only one person died at the hands of another during the riot – an unarmed Trump supporter shot dead by a Capitol Police officer. Nevertheless, Pelosi and other top Democrats, and President Biden himself, have used the terms “insurrection,” “assault on democracy,” and “domestic terrorism” to describe it – and to push tough new domestic terror laws and policies.
Barring a few anti-Trump members within their ranks, Republicans generally oppose Democrat-led efforts to investigate the riot, which they view as a partisan exercise. Shortly before Pelosi announced her select committee last month, Republican Senators voted down a proposal to establish a 9/11-style commission to probe the riot.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) announced on Tuesday night that he is referring Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the chief medical advisor to the president, to the Department of Justice for criminal investigation because Fauci has allegedly lied to Congress.
“You kicked off your questioning of Dr. Fauci emphasizing federal law makes lying to Congress a felony punishable by up to five years in prison,” Fox News host Sean Hannity said to Paul during an interview on Tuesday night. “Is it your belief based on the evidence, senator, that he lied before Congress and broke the law?”

The remarks from Paul came after the two got into an explosive exchange during a Senate hearing that appeared to leave Fauci literally shaking in anger.
FactCheck.org, which has covered the funding controversy in the past, previously reported that the answer to whether or not NIH funding was directed to the Wuhan lab and used to further gain-of-function research “depends on whom you ask and their definition of gain-of-function.” (Read the full report here.) The funding claim revolves around a six-figure grant that NIH provided to a group called EcoHealth Alliance, which in turn, directed money toward a Wuhan Institute of Virology project.

And yet, gain of function research was done entirely in the Wuhan Institute by Dr. Shi and was funded by the NIH. I’d like to ask unanimous consent insert into the record the Wuhan virology paper entitled Discovery of a Rich Gene Pool of Bat SARS Related Coronaviruses. Please deliver a copy of the journal article to Dr. Fauci.
In this paper, Dr. Shi credits the NIH and lists the actual number of the grant that she was given by the NIH. In this paper, she took two bat coronavirus genes, spike genes, and combined them with a SARS related backbone to create new viruses that are not found in nature. These lab created viruses were then to shown to replicate in humans. These experiments combined genetic information from different coronaviruses that infect animals, but not humans, to create novel artificial viruses able to infect human cells. Viruses that in nature only infect animals were manipulated in the Wuhan lab to gain the function of infecting humans. This research fits the definition of the research that the NIH said was subject to the pause in 2014 to 2017, a pause in funding on gain of function, but the NIH failed to recognize this, defines it away, and it never came under any scrutiny. Dr. Richard Ebright, a molecular biologist from Rutgers, described this research in Wuhan as the Wuhan lab used NIH funding to construct novel chimeric SARS related to coronaviruses able to infect human cells and laboratory animals. This is high risk research that creates new potential pandemic pathogens, potential pandemic pathogens that exist only in the lab, not in nature. This research matches … these are Dr. Ebright’s words. This research matches, indeed epitomizes the definition of gain of function research, done entirely in Wuhan, for which there was supposed to be a federal pause. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) explained during a Tuesday interview why he believes Dr. Anthony Fauci epitomizes the condescending attitude the liberal elite hold toward the average person.
Just hours after his tense clash with Fauci on Capitol Hill, during which he accused the nation’s top infectious diseases expert of lying to Congress, Paul told podcast host Brad Polumbo (video below) that he doubts the sincerity of Fauci’s motives more than he did at the start of the pandemic.
“In the beginning of this, I said repeatedly that I didn’t question his motives, that I thought his motives were good. I still think his motives are good, but I actually am starting to question the sincerity of what he’s doing, and that it’s not all for the betterment of mankind,” Paul said.
Citing information in the trove of Fauci’s private emails that Buzzfeed made public in June, Paul said he believes Fauci has “been covering his ass” since late July 2020.
“He became very alarmed that this could have come from the lab, he was getting reports of gain-of-function research, and he circled the wagon with this Peter Daszak,” said Paul. “And they did come together privately through email to talk about how to put the best spin on this.”
“So I do think that he’s been giving us shades of the truth from the very beginning, but I also think that he is predictable as an elitist,” Paul continued. “People on the Left believe they know better than you and they think that the common man’s too stupid to make their own decisions, so these decisions need to be made by their betters. And I truly think that he believes that he knows better.”
Paul went on to allege that Fauci is “okay with lying because he thinks the lie is for the betterment of mankind.”
“He calculates what the people need to hear and he tells them that regardless of whether it’s true,” Paul added.
Extrapolating Paul’s insight, Polumbo asked him what Fauci’s “hubris” suggests about other self-professed experts, such as those in the White House and Silicon Valley who consider themselves qualified to squelch what they deem “misinformation.”
Referencing economist Friedrich A. Hayek‘s idea that economies function best when knowledge is dispersed among many different people, Paul said such a principle also holds true for science and other areas.
“We now have a groupthink on COVID because Fauci controls all the funding,” Paul observed. Noting a similar situation exists with government funding of climate change research, Paul warned that the silencing of dissenting voices threatens to expand into other issues. “So climate change or alarmism was the beginning, the COVID…regime is the next, but it gets worse from here if we’re not careful.”
