Carefully read the passage above. How are we saved? Is it by our own worth? Is it by our own works? It it by anything we do? If you say yes to any of those then try to find support for it in those verses above. You won’t find it. Instead, what you will find is that we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. This is fully supported in the previous two verses that tell us For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. So with that fully in the forefront of our minds we go back and reread vv1-7. What was the mechanism that enabled this to take place since all of us without exception were dead in our trespasses and sins?
The answer to that, of course, is the Cross. I can remember back in the late 1980’s being part of Evangelism Explosion at our Church. It had mixed results. But the main diagnostic question we asked people to get started on our gospel presentation was, “If you died today and stood before God and He asked you why should I let you in my Heaven, what would you say?” This diagnostic question was supposed to make them think and also to reveal to us where the person we were witnessing to was spiritually. However, if you take that question and apply it to what I shared in the introduction of this post don’t you see a problem? Are we saved by something we do? I have this same discussion more than you might imagine. This evening I watched the video below and was extremely blessed. It is not short, but I pray you watch it all the way through. It is a sermon by Alistair Begg. His breakdown of what I shared above and then applying to the Thief on the Cross in Heaven brought me to tears.

5:12 “the Lamb that was slain to receive power” “Was slain” is a PERFECT PASSIVE PARTICIPLE (cf. 5:6; 13:8), which implies “slain in the past” with the marks of the slaying remaining. When we see Jesus He will still have the marks of the crucifixion. They have become His badge of honor! The concept of the cross is implicit and central in Revelation (cf. 1:5; 5:12; 7:14; 12:11; 13:8; 14:4; 15:3; 19:7; 21:9, 23 and 22:3). The concept of a purchased redemption is a recurrent NT truth (cf. Mark 10:45; 1 Cor. 6:20; 7:23; Gal. 3:13; 4:5; 1 Tim. 2:6; 1 Pet. 1:18, 19).
In this verse seven attributes are given unto the Lamb: (1) power; (2) riches; (3) wisdom; (4) might; (5) honor; (6) glory; and (7) blessing. All creation (the largest choir possible) blesses the Father and the Son (cf. v. 14; Ps. 103:19–20; Phil. 2:8–11).[3]

No mention is made of harps or other musical instruments. We may assume that the heavenly host sang, but the text reads that they uttered a loud shout in unison so that the sound came as one voice.
The wording of this second hymn expresses much the same thoughts as the hymn sung by the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders (vv. 9–10). But the angels have no need of redemption; they have learned from the church about the mystery of salvation (Eph. 3:10; 1 Pet. 1:12). They stand in awe at the wonder of God’s redeeming love in Christ Jesus. They are the ones who rejoice in heaven when one sinner on earth repents and cries out to God for mercy (Luke 15:7, 10). They are sent out as God’s messengers (Ps. 104:4; Heb. 1:7), and they are servants of the saints who are to inherit salvation (Heb. 1:14). They sing loudest praises to the Lamb, for they themselves have an integral part in the process of salvation by conveying divine messages to God’s people.
Thus the angels compose and sing a hymn, dedicated not to God but to the Lamb. Their song is more compact and even richer in attributes than the hymn sung by the cherubim and elders. It is unique because of its sevenfold construction: it lists seven nouns in succession that are ascribed to the Lamb: power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and thanksgiving. Seven is the number of completeness (compare 7:12). The four living creatures ascribed glory, honor, and thanksgiving to God seated on the throne (4:9), and the twenty-four elders do the same thing except that instead of thanksgiving they use the term power (4:11). Note, however, that the heavenly beings once call God worthy because of his work of creation, but twice they name the Lamb worthy because of his redemptive work (4:11 and 5:9, 12 respectively).
Some scholars divide the seven attributes into objective qualities (power, wealth, wisdom, and strength) and subjective qualities (honor, glory, and thanksgiving). Even though this demarcation has merit, the question is whether John wished to convey a division of qualities. For instance, glory is a heavenly attribute that people observe but are unable to increase. By contrast, honor is the act of people paying respect; and the act of thanksgiving “evokes man’s thankful response for benefits received.” All the other qualities belong to God and the Lamb.
This song has its origin in heaven, yet the individual words reveal acquaintance with an Old Testament doxology composed by David: “Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor.… Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks and praise your glorious name” (1 Chron. 29:11–12). Hence the Old Testament is the basis for the New Testament, reflected even in this angelic hymn.
Qualities that belong to God are now ascribed to the Lamb. These qualities are power as inner strength; wealth that comes from God; and wisdom that God freely gives to his people. Strength is a synonym of power, and honor and glory frequently appear as a pair (e.g., Ps. 8:5). God grants these qualities to his people, and they in turn express their thanksgiving to him and the Lamb.[4]
12. The words of the angels are introduced in the Greek with ‘saying’ (cf. rsv), as in 4:8, 10; 5:13, though all look like songs. Indeed, up till now the only specific reference to singing is in verse 9. But as the actual words of their song are there introduced with ‘saying’, it is plain that this verb is consistent with song as well as speech. The structure and content of the other passages show that they should likewise be understood as songs, as is the case with the present passage. Like the preceding one this song begins with Worthy.
For the Lamb and was slain, see note on verse 6. A slight difference is that there the Lamb was looking as if … slain’ while here there is no ‘as if’. The fact of the slaying is allowed to stand out. The angels use seven expressions (the perfect number is probably significant) to indicate the wonder of the Lamb. The first four are qualities he possesses, the last three express the attitude of people to him. Though there is no quotation there are resemblances to the praise of God in 1 Chronicles 29:10–12. Almost all the qualities here are ascribed to Christ elsewhere in the New Testament: power (1 Cor. 1:24), wealth (2 Cor. 8:9; Eph. 3:8), wisdom (1 Cor. 1:24), strength (Eph. 6:10; 2 Thess. 1:9), honour (Heb. 2:9; cf. Phil. 2:11), and glory (John 1:14; Heb. 2:9). ‘Blessing’ (niv praise) is not specifically used of him, but the corresponding verb is (Mark 11:9–10; cf. Rom. 15:29).[5]
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. (Psalm 30:5)
A moment under our Father’s anger seems very long, and yet it is but a moment after all. If we grieve His Spirit, we cannot look for His smile; but He is a God ready to pardon, and He soon puts aside all remembrance of our faults. When we faint and are ready to die because of His frown, His favor puts new life into us.
This verse has another note of the semi-quaver kind. Our weeping night soon turns into joyous day. Brevity is the mark of mercy in the hour of the chastisement of believers. The Lord loves not to use the rod on His chosen; He gives a blow or two, and all is over; yea, and the life and the joy, which follow the anger and the weeping, more than make amends for the salutary sorrow.
Come, my heart, begin thy hallelujahs! Weep not all through the night, but wipe thine eyes in anticipation of the morning. These tears are dews which mean us as much good as the sunbeams of the morrow. Tears clear the eyes for the sight of God in His grace and make the vision of His favor more precious. A night of sorrow supplies those shades of the pictures by which the highlights are brought out with distinctness. All is well.
I love the cyclical effect of God’s word in our lives! As we respond to His word, He responds to us. As He draws us to Himself, our hearts are drawn to respond to back to Him.
It’s a beautiful cycle of God’s hand in our lives as we choose to bring Him into focus as we walk through our day.

In other words I need to tend to my heart and be the gatekeeper of it… being careful what attitudes I nurse, what thoughts I allow to make paths in my mind, what images and words I allow media entertainment to deposit there. The essence of my life springs from my heart. When my heart is at peace, peace springs from within me. When my heart is flooded with anxiety, anger, or edginess that is what will spring forth. My entire life is affected by the wellspring of my heart.
Then God tells me exactly how HE will guard my heart and mind and help me tend to the wellspring of my heart.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”. Philippians 4:4-6

Lord God, Today I choose to guard my heart by turning my focus to You and rejoicing in all You are to me. Today I choose to be aware of Your constant presence with me and to allow Your presence to impact my responses with a gentleness of spirit. Today I choose to see my worries as a call to prayer and to present each one to You. Today I choose to live thankfully knowing You are able to handle all that concerns me today. Today, as I choose to guard my heart, I praise You that Your peace, which is beyond understanding, will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. What a beautiful circle. Over 60% of Americans say they will continue masking up if they feel sick, even post-Covid 19 pandemic, and over 40% say they will don face coverings in crowded spaces going forward, according to a new poll.
While renewed mask mandates and updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have received heavy pushback from critics, a poll conducted by the Washington Post and the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University has found that many want to continue relying on masks, even in a post-pandemic world.
According to the poll, released on Sunday, 67% of Americans plan on utilizing masks in public if they feel sick. At the start of the pandemic in the spring of last year, the CDC’s original guidance on masks was to only wear one if you are feeling coronavirus symptoms. They have since pulled back their mask guidance for vaccinated Americans, and subsequently updated that guidance to say masks are required, even for the vaccinated, in what they deem to be high-risk areas.
Over 30% of respondents said they would mask up if they are sick once the country is through the pandemic. Over 50% also said they would not wear face coverings in crowded areas, something health officials have at times recommended, especially for indoor settings, due to the increase in cases around the country and the spread of the delta variant.
Over 40%, however, say they will wear masks in “crowded places” even after the pandemic.
Republicans have mainly led the charge against reinstated mask mandates, though the Post polling appears to show a fair share of support for masks on both sides of the political aisle, with more than half of Republicans saying they will mask up if they are sick, while 80% of Democrats said the same.
The differences between political affiliations showed more in questioning about whether respondents’ lives had “returned to normal” yet, with numerous states and venues rolling back restrictions and opening for business once more.
Only 15% of self-described Democrats said their lives had “fully returned to normal,” compared to 48% of Republicans. Over 40% of Democrats believe their lives will completely move on from the pandemic in the next year, while 20% believe only another three months are needed. Republicans are more likely, according to the survey, to have attended a crowded indoor gathering in the new year than Democrats, many of whom remain fearful of lagging vaccination rates and variants.
The Post poll was conducted among 1,000 adults and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4%.
Health officials have spent the past weeks promoting vaccinations and warning of a likely surge of coronavirus cases in the fall. Anthony Fauci, chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, warned just this week that he believes coronavirus cases could reach 200,000 a day.
The US has a seven-day moving average of approximately 90,000 new cases this week, according to Johns Hopkins University data, which is over 30% higher than the previous seven-day average.
Last week, we discussed that further upside would be challenging with the market hitting new highs.
“Not surprisingly, the market didn’t make much headway this past week, given the current extended and overbought conditions. For now, ‘buy signals’ remain intact, which likely limits the downside over the next week. However, a retest of the 50-dma is certainly not out of the question.”
This week, such was the case again, as the market registered new highs only by a small fraction. Despite a record level of earnings “beats” and upgraded guidance, and a robust jobs report. (Corrections to the 50-dma continue to provide the best entry points to date. However, at some point the 200-dma will get tested.)
Notably, in both the chart above and below, buying pressure weakened despite several attempts to push markets higher. Thus, the “distribution” of the market remains a concern at these levels, particularly as we head into the seasonally weaker months of the year.
Despite these warnings, the “bullish bias” remains present,which limits downside risk currently.Therefore, we continue to maintain the majority of our equity holdings. In addition, however, we did raise our cash levels and increased the duration of our bond holdings to hedge against risk.
While there seems to be “NO” immediate risk to markets, Friday’s employment report should worry the “bulls.”
Fed Getting More Vocal On Taper
Over the past few weeks, Fed members have become much more vocal about the need to “taper” the current level of “Quantitative Easing.” Friday’s job report may accelerate that timeline.
“Given this outlook, commencing policy normalization in 2023 would be entirely consistent with our new flexible average inflation targeting framework.’” – Richard Clarida
“As we make substantial further progress, which I think will happen sooner than people expect, I think we’d be far better off, from a risk-management point of view, beginning to adjust these purchases of Treasuries and mortgage-backed securities.”
As Michael Lebowitz and I discussed on The Real Investment Show, the Fed drops these trial balloons to gauge the market’s reaction. Then, if markets remain stable, the Federal Reserve can adjust either the “verbal” language or take more specific actions.
“Inflation readings in the United States have shot up in recent months. Labor markets are extremely tight. In one recent survey, 46% of small-business owners said they could not find workers to fill open jobs, and a net 39% reported having increased their employees’ compensation. Yet, at the time of this writing, the yield on ten-year Treasury bonds is 1.24%, well below the ten-year breakeven inflation rate of 2.4%. At the same time, stock markets are flirting with all-time highs.”
As he notes, something does not add up. With these current conditions, the Fed should tighten policy, reduce accommodation, and “reload their ammo” for the next downturn.
Instead, the Fed keeps pouring gasoline on the bonfire.
Jobs Report Shows “Substantial Progress”
As noted, Jerome Powell has already set the table for tapering bond purchases by noting “substantial progress” towards the Fed’s goal of full employment and price stability.
Friday’s job report, on the surface, was robust, providing that evidence.
“Hiring was the fastest pace in a year. The economy added 943,000 jobs in July, nearly 100,000 more than the Dow Jones consensus estimate. The unemployment rate also fell to 5.4%, beating the forecasted jobless rate of 5.7%. Employment in May and June was also revised higher by a total of 119,000 payrolls.” – CNBC
As discussed previously, we think we could see the Fed openly discuss the issue of reducing its monetary support at the upcoming “Jackson Hole Summit.”Such could even include a general timeline to the reduction process in an attempt to maintain market stability.
However, below the headline report, the employment number was not all that exciting. Without seasonal adjustments, employment fell by 133,000 people. As you would expect for July, the vast majority of hires were retail, hospitality, and teachers.(Vacations, Retail, and Back-To-School)
Notably, after a significant layoff cycle in March 2020, jobs are returning to normal. It is not a cycle of NEW job creation due to a booming economy, rather just the re-employment of those previously let go. (Getting back to even isn’t the same as growing.)
Lastly, if we strip out all of those “retiring baby boomers,” it is hard to suggest we are in a roaring economy when less than 50% of the working-age population are employed full-time.(Which is lower than any previous employment peak in history.)
However, this data will not factor into the Fed’s decision-making cycle, which is deeply flawed, to begin with.
The Fed’s Decision Making Cycle
There is ample evidence the Fed is complicit in exacerbating the “wealth gap” and fostering speculative activity. As such, they should engage in reducing the monetary accommodation sooner rather than later. To wit:
“To those who care about sound asset prices, Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s announcement last week that the economy had made progress toward the point where the Fed might end its $120 billion monthly bond-buying program was good news. Phasing out quantitative easing (QE) is the first step toward monetary-policy normalization, which itself is necessary to alleviate the pressure on asset managers to produce impossible returns in a low-yield environment.” – Rajan
However, given the Fed has tied itself to the stock market as a sign of “economic stability,” any withdrawal of monetary policy leads to poor outcomes. The chart below shows the Fed’s Monetary Decision Making Cycle.
If the Fed does try to reduce accommodation, the market will decline as liquidity gets drained from the system. As the market declines, consumer confidence falls, and the Fed becomes concerned about a weakening economic environment. Moreover, given the high amounts of leverage in the system, as asset prices fall, the risk of defaults and credit risk rise.
This cycle forces the Fed to bail out the major Wall Street banks to ensure that a credit event doesn’t take hold. (Such is despite the fact the major banks pass an annual “stress test.” The Fed assures us the bank capitalization is strong enough to withstand such an event.(Unfortunately, it is pretty apparent they are not.)
The Fed May Be Trapped
That decision-making process is the Fed’s “kryptonite.” As noted above, every time the Fed does try to extract itself from the “monetary policy” game, the system fails.
“Since the “Financial Crisis,” total Government interventions surpassed $43 Trillion into the economy to keep it “afloat.” I say “afloat” rather than “growing” because, since 2008, the total cumulative growth of the economy is just $3.5 trillion. In other words, for each dollar of economic growth since 2008, it required $12 of monetary stimulus.”
The diminishing rate of return on QE programs is becoming more evident. While increasing QE doesn’t increase economic activity, the removal immediately slows activity as individuals hoard savings. But, of course, that eventual outcome requires a return to more debt-funded policies to sustain low economic activity rates.
There are few good options.
Most notably, is the surge in debt from unbridled Government largesse is increasingly problematic. As Rajan notes:
“And yet, even if monetary policymakers are not overly concerned about high asset prices or inflation, they should be worried about another risk that prolonged QE intensifies: the government’s fiscal exposure to future interest-rate hikes.”
The bond market is indeed sniffing something out.
Bond Rally Not Hard To Understand
My colleague Albert Edwards had a great note on the bond rally this week:
“As real yields in the US (and Europe) slump to new lows, Fed Chair Powell has been left scratching his head. Really? He should take a look at the ‘Hard Data’ chart below.
Real yields continue to collapse to new record negative lows, falling in the US below MINUS 1.2%. Chairman Powell was at a loss to explain the drivers behind this recent decline in yields, so attributed it to technical factors (always a cop-out when you have no idea) as he thinks the fundamentals remain strong.
Really? I know central banks tend to live in a parallel universe where they hear no evil, see no evil and speak total nonsense, but just look at the chart below. It shows the collapse in the Citi economic surprise index for hard data. This together with the increasing threat of imminent tapering – which usually leads (perversely) to falling bond yields – leads me to think that the US bond market rally is actually wholly explicable.“
Albert is correct and supports our thesis that bonds continue to deliver an important message the Fed ignores.
More importantly, as bottleneck’s ease, the risk of a manufacturing recession is rising rapidly next year.
“John Dizard’s FT column discussed the potential for an old-fashioned inventory-led recession next year when the current bottlenecks affecting container shipping dissipate. All that “delayed stuff, when it finally lands where it is supposed to, looks as though it will create a big enough pile to trigger a bad inventory recession.” – Albert Edwards
Pay attention to the data. Unfortunately, it isn’t nearly as strong as headlines suggest.
Portfolio Update
Not surprisingly, with earnings season in full swing, the markets maintained their bullish stance again this week. However, with that said, the upside remains limited, as we suggested previously.
With money flows continuing to weaken and technical indicators setting up to produce sell signals, we reduced exposure a bit more this week by increasing cash and reducing our financial holdings. With interest rates falling and yield curves flattening, there will be impacts to the earnings for major money center banks in the future.
If our analysis is correct and the economy slows much faster than anticipated, banks will underperform. We also reduced some of our energy exposure given the weakening dollar, and falling rates also suggest growth is weakening.
At the moment, as has been the case all year so far, there is no reason to be overly defensive. Bullish trends remain intact, liquidity continues, and overall sentiment is optimistic.
However, such does not preclude risk management in portfolios to protect recent gains against a potentially weak August and September timeframe. As noted on Thursday by Isabelnet.com:
As noted above, the market is moving through its current “buy” signals reasonably quickly. The next set of “sell” signals could lead to enough of a correction to set up a “buy” point for the end-of-year rally.
There is more than a decent chance the market ends up this year at about the same level we are currently. If that turns out to be the case, being a little cautious now might pay off.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is accustomed to scurrilous attacks from Democrats and the media but he is now facing “friendly fire” from members of his own party over his ongoing efforts to allow his state’s residents to make their own personal health decisions.
The Sunshine State Republican is facing another savage onslaught from the usual suspects for rejecting the mask mandates prescribed by Washington bureaucrats like CDC Director Rochelle Walensky and Dr. Anthony Fauci, and is once again being demonized by the press over an uptick in coronavirus “cases” that have been wildly blown out of proportion to damage him politically.
On Sunday morning, Senator Bill Cassidy opened another front against the man who many believe is the best governor in America when the Louisiana Republican showed up on CNN’s “State Of The Union” where, during an interview with host Dana Bash, he sniped at the DeSantis as well as Governor Greg Abbott of Texas for not allowing local politicians to exercise control over mask mandates, particularly in schools.
Appealing to Cassidy’s experience as a physician, Bash asked the senator “Your state’s governor, John Bel Edwards (a Democrat) issued a new mask mandate, put it into effect this week,” she said, “Is that the right move?”
Cassidy responded; “If you have a large percentage of your population which is not vaccinated and your infection rate is going up, you got one of two choices,” he said, either you’re vaccinated or you have to wear a mask,” he said, “otherwise you’re at too great a risk to spread infection to further pack those emergency rooms, to prevent people who have terrible accidents from getting cared for because the hospital is full of COVID, and there is a choice,”
He continued; “On the other hand, if we don’t want mask mandates, get vaccinated, the infection rate goes down and you don’t have a mandate,” Cassidy said neglecting to acknowledge that the CDC has also called for those who have been vaccinated to also mask-up.
Bash then set the table; “Some governors, like Ron DeSantis in Florida, Greg Abbott in Texas, they’re blocking local officials from imposing restrictions like mask mandates, the virus is surging to record highs in those states including yours, so as you said, you are a doctor, you are an elected official, shouldn’t local officials be allowed to make decisions like mask mandates?”
“I’m a conservative, I think you govern best when you govern closest to the people being governed,” Cassidy said, “and if a local community is having a, their ICU is full, and the people at the local schools see that they’ve got to make sure they stay open, because otherwise children miss out for another year of school, and they put in policy, then the local officials should be listened to,” Cassidy said.
Bash pressed on, “So you do disagree with Governor DeSantis?
Cassidy answered, “I do disagree with Governor DeSantis, the local officials should have control here, I don’t want to top down from Washington, D.C., I don’t want to top down from a governor’s office,” not mentioning that during the first wave of COVID, local officials in Democrat-controlled Florida cities and counties rejected the governor’s desire to protect the rights of citizens.
Biden and the Democrats aren’t the only ones who want to cut off the presidential aspirations of DeSantis at the knees before he gathers even more momentum, the remnants of the Bush-McCain-Romney GOP establishment want control over their party back and that isn’t going to happen with either a Trump or DeSantis White House run.
It bears mentioning that Cassidy was one of the seven Senate Republicans who voted to convict former President Trump during Nancy Pelosi’s failed second impeachment when he joined Mitt Romney, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Richard Burr, Ben Sasse, and Pat Toomey in the doomed effort.

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Three North Texas hospital systems are requiring all their workers to be vaccinated for COVID-19, and many health care workers don’t agree with the idea of mandating the vaccine.
Late last month, Baylor Scott & White and Methodist Health System announced their workers will need to be vaccinated by Oct. 1, 2021, while Texas Health Resources said its mandate begins Sept. 10, 2021.
The requirements came as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to surge due to the recent emergence of the highly contagious delta variant.
However, health care workers are fighting back, arguing the COVID-19 vaccine should be a choice.
Dozens of nurses and health care workers gathered in front of Texas Health Harris Methodist hospital in downtown Fort Worth Saturday to protest the mandate.
“Regardless if you believe in the vaccine or not, it should never be mandated,” nurse Keli Culver said.
“I’m not here to say you should get the vaccine or shouldn’t get the vaccine. But that you should have a choice,” ICU and NICU nurse Jennifer Cantu said. “… You’re literally telling me to put a serum in my body that can harm me years down the road.”

People who have recovered from COVID-19 retain broad and effective longer-term immunity to the disease, according to a new study.
Findings of the study, which is the most comprehensive of its kind so far, have implications for expanding understanding about human immune memory as well as future vaccine development for coronaviruses
For the longitudinal study in Cell Reports Medicine, researchers looked at 254 patients with mostly mild to moderate symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection over a period of more than eight months (250 days) and found that their immune response to the virus remained durable and strong.
The findings are reassuring, especially given early reports during the pandemic that protective neutralizing antibodies didn’t last in COVID-19 patients, said Rafi Ahmed, director of the Emory University Vaccine Center and a lead author of the paper.
“The study serves as a framework to define and predict long-lived immunity to SARS-CoV-2 after natural infection. We also saw indications in this phase that natural immunity could continue to persist,” Ahmed said.
The research team will continue to evaluate this cohort over the next few years.
The researchers found that not only did the immune response increase with disease severity but also with each decade of age regardless of disease severity, suggesting that there are additional unknown factors influencing age-related differences in COVID-19 responses.
In following the patients for months, researchers got a more nuanced view of how the immune system responds to COVID-19 infection. The picture that emerges indicates that the body’s defense shield not only produces an array of neutralizing antibodies but activates certain T and B cells to establish immune memory, offering more sustained defenses against reinfection.
“We saw that antibody responses, especially IgG antibodies, were not only durable in the vast majority of patients but decayed at a slower rate than previously estimated, which suggests that patients are generating longer-lived plasma cells that can neutralize the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein.”
Ahmed said investigators were surprised to see that convalescent participants also displayed increased immunity against common human coronaviruses as well as SARS-CoV-1, a close relative of the current coronavirus. The study suggests that patients who survived COVID-19 are likely to also possess protective immunity even against some SARS-CoV-2 variants.
“Vaccines that target other parts of the virus rather than just the spike protein may be more helpful in containing infection as SARS-CoV-2 variants overtake the prevailing strains,” Ahmed said. “This could pave the way for us to design vaccines that address multiple coronaviruses.”
The researchers said the study more comprehensively identifies the adaptive immune components leading to recovery, and that it will serve as a benchmark for immune memory induced by SARS-CoV-2 vaccines.
“We can build on these results to define the progression to long-lived immunity against the new coronavirus, which can guide rational responses when future outbreaks occur,” Ahmed said.
The National Institutes of Health funded the work, which is a collaboration between Emory University and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington. Source

And the objective from all of our public health officials have has been clearly, and our Secretary of Education, kids needs to be in school. We know there’s a mental health impact of them not being in school, and we should take the mitigation measures needed in order for them to be in school and in the classroom, including masking and including allowing that to be part of a reality in these schools to keep the community.

Now retired, Yeadon “spent 32 years in the pharmaceutical industry working to create new, innovative medicines.”
“So anyone who does that has my thumbs-up, provided the medicines are safe, and provided they’re used appropriately.”
“These gene-based (flu/covid jabs) are neither.”
They’re “not that at all.”
They’ve “never been used before on any scale for any kind of treatment in humans.
They “contain a piece of genetic code, either DNA, where the viruses carry them into your body, or messenger RNA, which is the intermediate step between your genes and protein, which is the product, and those are used just to be basically a slippery coating of lipid nanoparticles to help them slide into your cells.”
“(T)here are at least two major problems.”
“Major problem number one:”
Jabs contain “what’s called ‘spike proteins.’ ”
Pfizer and Moderna “came up with this bright idea that if we can code those in these gene-based (flu/covid jabs), then your body will manufacture some of that.’ ”
“How’s that?” Your “body (has been) taken over to become a manufacturer of virus proteins.”
“You never thought you were doing that before, did you?”
“(U)nfortunately, the spike protein is highly active biologically. It does lots of things.”
“(I)t will cause your blood to clot wherever it is expressed sufficiently in your blood.”
The “unique process (is) not benign. It’s toxic. It’s a biological toxin.”
“(T)he other problem is (that) when you get a fixed dose, (your) genetic code” is reengineered.
You’ve become a genetically modified organism — defying nature.
“Operation Warp Speed “miss(ed) steps” essential in drug development.
“And then they lie to you and say “(w)e haven’t missed the steps.”
“You can’t” do that. “If you go very quickly, there are some things you have not done.”
“(T)here’s been a complete failure of the regulatory process.”
“We have no idea what those steps should be for a gene-based (flu/covid jab).”
“No idea. There are no medicines of this type in humans in a mass population.”
“No one knows what the right things are to do.”
“We don’t know how they distribute in the body.”
“We don’t know for how long they make how much protein, and in which bit of the body.”
“As a biologist I’m simply horrified.”
“I’d be terrified if someone said ‘you have to have this,’ because I would know they have no idea where it’s going to go.”
“They haven’t done any of the studies (required to assure) safety.”
“They’ve got almost no safety data” on what’s been administered to millions of people in the West and elsewhere.
FDA and CDC “emergency use authorization (is at a time when there’s) nothing approaching an emergency.”
We’ve been lied to “about the number of people in hospital(s).”
“If you look up the work of Dr. Peter McCullough, you’ll find five or six or seven therapies that work, (including) hydroxychloroquine, zinc, azithromycin, ivermectin, fluvoxamine, dexameth, and the list goes on.”
Flu/covid is “the most treatable respiratory viral illness ever.”
“So this idea that there are no treatments is an utter lie.”
Instead, toxic jabs were OK’d that “toxicologists would probably have nightmares over.”
“And they let you have it because there was an alleged public health emergency” that doesn’t exist.
“Of course there’s” none.
“And they said you have to (be jabbed) because there are no treatments, which is a complete lie.”
“Complete informed consent” is entirely absent when most needed.
“It’s going to get worse” ahead, Yeadon believes.
“I knew there was something very badly wrong, because I knew the virus was not as lethal as” falsely claimed.
Given what’s gone on since early last year, Yeadon stressed:
“I’ve never been as ashamed of the industry I used to work in” as now.
