True Walking Posture — VCY America

He that walketh uprightly walketh surely.Proverbs 10:9

His walk may be slow, but it is sure. He that hasteth to be rich shall not be innocent nor sure; but steady perseverance in integrity, if it does not bring riches, will certainly bring peace. In doing that which is just and right, we are like one walking upon a rock, for we have confidence that every step we take is upon solid and safe ground. On the other hand, the utmost success through questionable transactions must always be hollow and treacherous, and the man who has gained it must always be afraid that a day of reckoning will come, and then his gains will condemn him.

Let us stick to truth and righteousness. By God’s grace let us imitate our Lord and Master, in whose mouth no deceit was ever found. Let us not be afraid of being poor, nor of being treated with contempt. Never, on any account whatever, let us do that which our conscience cannot justify. If we lose inward peace, we lose more than a fortune can buy. If we keep in the Lord’s own way and never sin against our conscience, our way is sure against all comers. Who is he that can harm us if we be followers of that which is good? We may be thought fools by fools if we are firm in our integrity; but in the place where judgment is infallible we shall be approved.

The Tyranny of Sin — The Fight of Faith

I saw the effects of it in an old friend ravaged by a virus that attacked his motor skills to the point he lost the ability to speak. I saw it in another friend fighting the grief of losing their spouse to disease. It reared its head in the news of another family friend who discovered their six-year-old has cancer and will be heading to chemo. Why is there any of this in the world? The short answer is sin. One man’s disobedience unleashed a torrent of guilt, condemnation, sickness, and death. All illness and death result from sin, even when it is not the result of any specific act of evil in the sufferer’s life.

Seldom do we think about sin with as much seriousness as we should, but its destruction is all around us. Its effects devastate both those we love and those we consider enemies. Quite often, we play with sin as if it were a favored pet that could never turn on us, but in reality, the only reason we think little of it is because it has already sunk its teeth into us and has us under its sway. Scripture speaks of the exceeding deceitfulness of sin, and part of that deceitfulness is that it convinces us of its harmlessness, but when we see the havoc it has unleashed upon this world, we should think twice.

The truth is that the diseases and death that plague us are not our most significant problems. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and our sin condemns us before a holy and just judge. Eternal punishment is the only proper retribution for finite creatures who sin against an infinite God. Part of sin’s tyranny is to convince us that though we may not be perfect, we certainly do not deserve the wrath of God. When we revolt against the doctrine of hell, we do so because of the sin that indwells us. The deceitfulness of sin does not stop there. It moves us to suppress this truth and, therefore, reject the remedy that could set us free from sin’s captivity.

Yet, by the grace of God, Scripture tells us that Jesus can break the chains of hell that hold us captive. Through Christ, all who have faith in Him have peace with God and have been set free from sin (Rom 6:18). Our sins have been forgiven, the wrath we deserved has been satisfied on the cross, and we are no longer slaves to sin. Though this does not mean we will never contend with our sinful nature again, it does mean that through the work of the Holy Spirit, Christ has released us from sin’s ultimate deception. We once were blind, but now we see. On top of this, he has promised that He will complete the work He has started in us. We will grow in sanctification and, one day, be glorified.

For the believer, Christ will break all of sin’s bondage in our lives, including the disease and death that resulted from it. Because of his resurrection, we, too, will be resurrected. Though we were sown perishable, we will be raised imperishable. Though we have been sown in dishonor, we will be raised in glory. And though we have been sown in weakness, we will be raised in power (1 Cor. 15:42-43). Even though death has reigned through one man’s trespass, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ (Rom. 5:17).

When you look around and see the ravaging effects of sin in yourself and the lives of those around you, remember to take sin seriously and trust in Christ, who is greater than the tyranny of sin. No condemnation, disease, or death is as powerful as the life given to us in Christ, which is our hope of glory.

Calm — Daily Devotionals by Thoughts about God

I recently read …

Their ships were tossed to the heavens and plunged again to the depths; the sailors cringed in terror. They reeled and staggered like drunkards and were at their wits’ end. “LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress. He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. What a blessing was that stillness as He brought them safely into harbor!
Psalm 107:26-30 (NLT)

Which led me to read this…

And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
Mark 4:37-39 (NKJV)

Which led me to this…

Late that night, the disciples were in their boat in the middle of the lake, and Jesus was alone on land. He saw that they were in serious trouble, rowing hard and struggling against the wind and waves. About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. He intended to go past them, but when they saw Him walking on the water, they cried out in terror, thinking He was a ghost. They were all terrified when they saw Him. But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” He said. “Take courage! I am here!” Then He climbed into the boat, and the wind stopped. They were totally amazed, Mark 6:47-51 (NLT)

Which brought me to this…

How are we doing in our little boat of life—as we sail upon the sea of culture’s changing tide, upon the strong winds of adversity that batter against our sides, upon the coming and going of people’s views and opinions that seek to redirect our course, upon the highs and lows of the world’s pressures and demands that put stress upon our sails, upon the churning waters of rebellion and discontentment that seek to overturn us, upon the undercurrents of opposition and persecution that want to push us back, upon the riptides of the devil’s schemes that want to keep us from advancing, and upon the choppy onslaughts of misunderstanding, misrepresentation and false accusation that want to sink us before arriving on the other shore?

Let’s pray for one another and encourage one another to stay in the boat…and always remember that it is not our boat…it belongs to our Captain. His hands are on the wheel, He has set the course, He has trimmed the sail and knows how to use the winds for good. His compass is true, His bearings are right. The boat won’t sink! He will never abandon His post, and He will safely bring us to the other shore.

Do you find yourself battling against a storm of emotions or opposition that is beating against your soul? Ask your Captain, Jesus, to speak to the storm…He still has the power to quiet the winds and bring calm the storm.

The votes in Israel’s latest Knesset election are still being counted, but the exit polls confirmed the worst fears of the Biden administration. IN TODAY’S DIGEST

FEATURED ANALYSIS

Biden Says ‘Democracy Is at Risk’ Under Biden

Here we go again with another lecture about how voting for Republicans undermines voting itself.

Nate Jackson

President Unity™ gave yet another ugly and divisive political speech last night, though this time his handlers at least had the sense to not put him in front of a Marine-guarded Nazi background. Honestly, Joe Biden had some good and powerful things to say if he had been rebuking the powerbrokers of his own party, who have sowed division and hate, who have questioned and refused to accept election results, and who believe that their own authoritarian and autocratic rule is the only thing that can save “democracy.”

But we live in a Republic, and since Biden is the divider-in-chief and primary peddler of big lies, he was left to project the faults of his own party onto the other one, insisting that democracy can be saved only by voting Democrat this November. It was abject hypocrisy at its “finest.” We could pick apart nearly every line of his histrionic speech, but we’ll show a little restraint and hit some important points.

For some reason, Biden devoted the entire speech to Donald Trump and other “election deniers.” For some reason, he didn’t talk about inflation, rising interest rates, surging crime, record illegal immigration, or a host of other ills facing America. It’s a mystery why, isn’t it?

Instead, the president began by effectively berating millions of Americans over the violent attack of one deranged individual — the lefty nudist who assaulted Paul Pelosi with a hammer. As if we’re all about to beat up that neighbor with a yard sign we don’t like.

But the zip ties! That was just like January 6! (Also just like the lefty who tried to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh, but never mind that.) Pelosi’s attacker allegedly asked, “Where’s Nancy?” And those, said Biden, “are the very same words used by the mob when they stormed the United States Capitol on January the 6th.”

The attack on Pelosi and the Capitol riot were indeed disgraceful. We warned at the time of the riot that Democrats would have a field day hanging the actions of a few around the necks of the entire Republican Party. Biden alone has given numerous speeches piously lamenting and sanctimoniously lecturing thanks to that riot. It’s beyond unfortunate that the rioters provided that opening.

But it is not a couple hundred rioting yahoos who pose the real threat to our Republic. It is Joe Biden and his Democrat cadre who despise our Constitution and the greatness of America itself. It is Democrats who have undermined election integrity by refusing to accept any loss, changing rules (exploiting the pandemic in 2020 to do so) to benefit Democrats, and turning Election Day into Election Season.

No longer do Americans go to the polls on one day to participate in our functional Republic. Now, as Biden noted, “27 million people have already cast their ballot” via early voting or mail-in voting nearly a week before Election Day. Millions more will do so in the days to come.

“We know that more and more ballots are cast in early voting or by mail in America,” Biden said. “And we know that many states don’t start counting those ballots till after the polls close on November 8. That means in some cases we won’t know the winner of the election for a few days — until a few days after the election. It takes time to count all legitimate ballots in a legal and orderly manner. It’s always been important for citizens in the democracy to be informed and engaged. Now it’s important for a citizen to be patient as well. That’s how this is supposed to work.”

Is it any wonder that millions of Americans might question that process? Biden wants to be able to say he told us so when it takes a few days to know the results in some elections. But he is also intentionally gaslighting Americans who already doubt that Democrat election officials in Atlanta or Milwaukee or Philadelphia have honorable intentions. He’s already painting any questions as illegitimate conspiracy theory.

“The great irony about the two 20 [sic] election is that it’s the most attacked election in our history,” he said. “And yet there’s no election in our history that we can be more certain of its results.” The 2020 election was thoroughly tainted by many things that have nothing to do with what or how votes were counted. But because Donald Trump lost a few court cases, Biden wants you to think 2020 was the Most Legitimate Election Ever.

There are, according to Biden, “more than 300 election deniers on the ballot all across America this year.” He neglected to mention that his party spent millions of dollars funding a good many of them because Democrats thought such “extreme” Republicans would be easier to beat. He also neglected to tally how many Democrats on the ballot are on the record denying election results.

“Extreme MAGA Republicans aim to question not only the legitimacy of past elections, but elections being held now and into the future,” Biden warned. Not two weeks ago, Biden’s administration and Hillary “Trump Stole the 2016 Election” Clinton were insisting that MAGA Republicans are going to steal the 2022 and 2024 elections. Back in January, Biden was asked about the midterms and replied, “I’m not saying it’s going to be legit.”

Are we questioning legitimacy or are we not allowed to question legitimacy? Pick one, Joe.

Republicans are “trying to succeed where they failed in 2020, to suppress the right of voters and subvert the electoral system itself,” he declared. “That means denying your right to vote and deciding whether your vote even counts.” Five minutes later, he boasted that there’s already been “record turnout all over the country.” And the “suppression” he’s talking about is things like requiring an ID to cast a ballot or authenticating mail-in ballots. Horrors, we know.

“We must,” he said, “stand against political violence and voter intimidation.” His is the party of political violence and intimidation through censorship. “We don’t settle our differences, America, with a riot, a mob, or a bullet, or a hammer,” pronounced the president whose party mobs rioted and shot people for months in dozens of major cities in 2020. His then-running mate raised money to bail them out of jail. “We settle ‘em peacively [sic] at the battle— at the battle blox [sic]— the ballot box.” That’s some Freudian slip.

Much like the pandemic amnesty idea being peddled on the Left, Biden’s speech can largely be explained by the fact that suburban women are swinging toward Republicans — by 27 points in one poll. The second-most important issue to women, according to that poll, is “threats to democracy.” Thus, Biden is doing everything he can to shore up his gender advantage.

Veteran political analyst Jim Geraghty summed up Biden’s speech this way: “President Biden argued that to preserve your right to vote for the candidate of your choice, you have no other option but to vote for the candidate of his choice.”

By the way, most major cable networks carried Biden’s campaign speech last night, leaving us to wonder what this political ad would have cost if he had to pay for it.

Just for fun, here’s 12 minutes of Democrats denying election results.

A Pandemic Amnesty?

The appeal for amnesty is all because a significant number of suburban women are shifting toward Republicans for the midterms.

Thomas Gallatin

With Democrats facing the wrath of voters in next week’s election, leftists desperately want to sweep the government’s overreaction and tyrannical response to the COVID pandemic under the proverbial rug. In an article for The Atlantic, titled “Let’s Declare a Pandemic Amnesty,” economist and academic Emily Oster says we should just let bygones by bygones. She suggests that any deep dive into how poorly COVID was handled needs to be dropped. “Dwelling on the mistakes of history can lead to a repetitive doom loop,” she writes, so “let’s acknowledge that we made complicated choices in the face of deep uncertainty, and then try to work together to build back and move forward.”

This is an ironic position coming from the Leftmedia, which has repeatedly defended the cancellation of significant historical figures from America’s past over the grievances of modern leftist wokescolds who have no room for forgiveness and can’t move beyond the distant past. Now, suddenly we can’t hold present day authorities accountable. It’s also ironic given how endlessly the Leftmedia hectored Americans who declined to follow The Science™ when it came to specific COVID response measures.

Oster starts by admitting: “In April 2020, no one got the coronavirus from passing someone else hiking. Outdoor transmission was vanishingly rare. Our cloth masks made out of old bandanas wouldn’t have done anything, anyway. But the thing is: We didn’t know.”

Sure we did. Nobody but nobody recommended masks until it became politically expedient to do so. At the very beginning, Dr. Flip-Flop himself, Anthony Fauci, observed, “The typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out virus.” Of course, he later flipped his statement, claiming that he was actually lying out of concern for preserving enough PPE supplies for frontline healthcare workers. Later studies would once again affirm Fauci’s initial observation, concluding that most masks (N95s excepted) do almost nothing to prevent infection.

Oster asserts that ignorance was high, but why then in light of this reality is she not condemning those political leaders who demanded the enforcement of mask wearing and school closings with no evidence supporting and often with evidence contradicting such drastic measures?

Humility rather than hubris is what Americans deserved from their leaders, as humility would have precluded the overly aggressive actions that were taken in ignorance. Protecting the rights of individuals to make those decisions for themselves was the proper response to the pandemic, as was demonstrated by Republican governors like Florida’s Ron DeSantis and Texas’s Greg Abbott.

Furthermore, from a completely practical position, how can one learn from mistakes if those mistakes aren’t thoroughly exposed and addressed so as to avoid them in the future? Those who avoid addressing mistakes effectively aren’t really interested in learning anything or changing accordingly.

So why call for pandemic amnesty now? If the Left’s demanded actions — school and business closings, mask and vaccine mandates, and the like — had proven to be the right answers, there would be no article calling for “pandemic amnesty.” Indeed, there would be a nearly endless litany of articles titled, “We Told You So.”

The answer likely lies in the fact that suburban white moms are fleeing the Democrats.

The pandemic exposed Democrat leaders’ authoritarian instincts, especially when it came to schools. The revelations of the utter failure of the education system have awakened the proverbial momma bear. This reality was first exposed with Republican Glenn Youngkin’s victory in Virginia’s gubernatorial race last year, and it may be a key factor in next Tuesday’s elections.

A recent Wall Street Journal poll observes this trend across the nation. The survey shows “that white women living in suburban areas, who make up 20% of the electorate, now favor Republicans for Congress by 15 percentage points, moving 27 percentage points away from Democrats since the Journal’s August poll.” That is a massive swing, and while economic concerns (the price of groceries, for example) and rising crime are the leading reasons given for the shift, a profound dissatisfaction with the direction Democrat leaders have taken the country is also a major contributing factor. As one woman put it, “Right now I feel the Democrats are ruining our country.”

Back to the call for pandemic amnesty. For two years, the Leftmedia was busy browbeating anyone who dared to point out obvious problems with the government’s (mostly Democrats’) heavy-handed edicts. It was clear that these Democrats didn’t want to hear any objections to their one-size-fits-all “solutions” that are proving to have created more problems (both economically and socially) than they solved. It has genuinely become what many conservatives warned about from the very beginning — including our own Mark Alexander on the day much of the country went into lockdown in March 2020 — the “cure” might be worse than the disease.

That’s exactly what happened, and now many leftists are begging Americans to forget about the abuses of the last two years and go vote Democrat. We think the better solution would be social distancing from the party that caused the pain and spread the disease of tyranny.

Executive News Summary

Pelosi attack update, feds raise interest rate another .75%, leftists lament that voter ID laws target “transgenders,” and more.

Thomas Gallatin & Jordan Candler

Cross-Examination

  • Pelosi attack update: Questions regarding how a crazed leftist perpetrator was able to break into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s residence in San Francisco and attack her husband Paul are slowly being answered, though those answers are painting a rather incompetent picture of the U.S. Capitol Police. It is now known that the Capitol Police had a live security camera feed of Pelosi’s house, but nobody was monitoring it during the break-in. Furthermore, no alarm went off when the perpetrator broke a glass door at the back of the house to gain entry. The cameras were placed around Pelosi’s San Francisco residence eight years ago, and for months after the January 6 Capitol riot the SFPD maintained a police cruiser outside her residence 24 hours a day. However, when Nancy Pelosi leaves for Washington, DC, the security detail monitoring her home evidently takes a break. When asked if the 911 call and police body camera footage will be released to the public, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins stated flatly, “No.” She added, “Revealing that evidence through the media is not appropriate.” The Washington Post also went to bat for Jenkins by claiming that requesting the video “is mostly a way to extend the conspiracy theory.” When Jenkins was asked if she wanted to share information on the suspect’s criminal history, she responded, “No, not at this time, and quite frankly it’s nothing that would have led anyone to believe that he was capable of what he ultimately did.”
  • Feds raise interest rate another .75% to fight Bidenflation: On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve, as was expected, raised the benchmark interest rate another three-quarters of a percent in its ongoing effort to rein in sky-high inflation. So far this year, the Fed has raised interest rates a total of 4%, marking the highest annual rate increase since before the 2008 financial crisis. Yet even with the threat of a looming recession, the Fed continued to hint at implementing future rate hikes: “The Committee anticipates that ongoing increases in the target range will be appropriate in order to attain a stance of monetary policy that is sufficiently restrictive to return inflation to 2 percent over time.” The current annual inflation rate is sitting at 8.2%, increasing last month by 0.4% as prices for groceries to gas to housing continue to climb.
  • Leftists lament that voter ID laws target “transgenders”: The Democrat political playbook has long been established upon grievance politics. Furthermore, strong voter integrity laws that would limit the ability of election cheating have served as an opportunity for Democrats to level vacuous claims of “voter suppression.” The biggest hurdle for being able to rig elections happens to be voter ID laws, which is why Democrats disingenuously decry them as “racist.” Thankfully, a large majority of Americans reject this claim. But Democrats can’t let their voter ID bogeyman go, so they have now framed voter ID laws as “transphobic.” NBC News recently ran a story asserting, “Over 200,000 trans people could face voting restrictions because of state ID laws.” (Not didcould.) The issue that NBC is wringing its hands over is the fact that in the vast majority of states, an individual’s biological sex is the identifier on his or her official state ID such as a driver’s license. That a person who self-identifies as “transgender” would be required to show a state ID that doesn’t comport with his or her declared gender identity is effectively voter suppression, according to NBC. The desire to defy biological reality is not a valid excuse to eliminate voter ID laws. If one were so traumatized by the thought of being outed as “transgender” at a polling station, then why not cast a mail-in ballot? It seems to be the hip thing now anyway.

The Networks’ Shameful Midterm Bias

The evening newscasts of ABC, CBS, and NBC continue to comfort the Democrats and afflict the Republicans.

Douglas Andrews

This election cycle has seen a slew of compelling campaigns from Republican women: Michigan gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon, Washington Senate candidate Tiffany Smiley, and Virginia congressional candidate Yesli Vega, to name a few. But arguably the most impressive of all has been Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.

We mention this because nothing scares the Democrats more than strong conservative women, and because there’s no more compelling evidence for this than the left-wing media’s coverage of Lake, which has been — we kid you not — 100% negative. As Rich Noyes of NewsBusters writes:

Four years ago, TV’s midterm coverage hammered Republican candidates and then-President [Donald] Trump with 88 percent negative spin while sparing Democrats similarly bad press. This year, Democrats are in charge of the White House and both chambers of Congress, yet a new Media Research Center study of ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts finds that Republicans are receiving coverage that is just as negative (87% negative) as in 2018, while Democrats — including the president — are drawing far less scrutiny than the party out of power.

Imagine that. And media personalities wonder why the American people hold them in such low regard.

Noyes notes that much of this year’s focus has been on four particular candidates: Republicans Herschel Walker, Mehmet Oz, and Kari Lake, and Democrat John Fetterman. Lake, by the way, is running for governor of Arizona, but she could help Blake Masters win the Senate seat in the state. The media’s focus makes sense given the stakes: Republicans are expected to easily retake the House, but the Democrats still desperately cling to hopes of hanging onto the Senate. Here, Fetterman notched 81% negative coverage, which was mostly due to his stunningly bad debate performance. But, Noyes writes, “That’s still better than Arizona’s Kari Lake, who was on the receiving end of nine evaluative comments, all negative, giving her a 100 percent negative press score.”

Thus, to say that the networks are 100% against Kari Lake is not an exaggeration. Take a look:

In this respect, Lake has outdone even Trump in exposing Leftmedia bias. Recall the May 2017 report issued by Harvard’s Kennedy School Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy, which analyzed news coverage — in the print editions of The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post; the main newscasts of CBS, CNN, Fox News, and NBC; and three European outlets — of Trump’s first 100 days in office. The report, which was refreshingly honest, found his coverage to be 93% negative. By contrast, Trump’s hopey changey presidential predecessor received just 41% negative coverage.

What explains the Left’s unbridled enmity toward Lake? Hmm, where to start? She’s beautiful, she’s magnetic, she’s whip-smart and in command of the issues, she’s incredibly comfortable in front of a camera or an audience, and she has the deliciously Trumpian quality of being a great counterpuncher.

Lake, though, has one other unforgivable quality: She’s a traitor — a media personality who’s not a Democrat. For 22 years, Lake worked as an anchor for Phoenix television station KSAZ-TV. So she knows all the Leftmedia’s secrets, knows all the dirty tricks, knows where all the bodies are buried.

Thus, Kari Lake poses all sorts of problems for the Left, and we can expect to see the media’s petty nastiness and deceitfulness toward her to continue. Which brings us to a prediction (you heard it here first):

If Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination in 2024, he’ll tab Kari Lake as his running mate. She’s what we call a ticket-balancer: old-young, male-female, northeast-southwest, and she’ll be the governor of a swing state, Arizona.

All this could be avoided, of course, if only the mainstream media would play it straight. Heck, we’d settle for 60-40 and trust the American people to do the rest. Instead, though, we get 87-13 or, in Lake’s case, 100-0. So we’ll keep hammering away.

A TikTok-ing Time Bomb

The social media app TikTok is Chinese spyware that’s giving aid to the enemy.

Emmy Griffin

TikTok has long been a threat to the American people and U.S. intelligence agencies. The video sharing app is staffed by 300 former Chinese state media workers and has direct ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It was such an obvious security risk that former President Donald Trump tried to ban it with an executive order, which was then overturned by President Joe Biden — who has known sympathies with China.

TikTok is used by its parent company, the Beijing-based ByteDance, to data-mine and collect biometric and location data. In other words, TikTok/ByteDance/Beijing spy on the United States and its citizens. Ergo, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner Brendan Carr is now calling for its banning. Carr believes that there isn’t “a world in which you could come up with sufficient protection on the data that you could have sufficient confidence that it’s not finding its way back into the hands of the [Chinese Communist Party].”

Carr, a Republican, is not alone in his concerns. Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Mark Warner, a Democrat, also voiced the opinion that President Trump was right in his attempt to excise the app from U.S. digital space.

TikTok is currently in negotiations with the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) to try to work out a way for the app to become separate from its parent company. This is what prompted Carr to voice his concerns because even divestment isn’t enough to keep Americans safe from undue Chinese influence and interference. A spokesperson for TikTok criticized Carr, saying: “Commissioner Carr has no role in the confidential discussions with the U.S. government related to TikTok and appears to be expressing views independent of his role as an FCC commissioner. We are confident that we are on a path to reaching an agreement with the US Government that will satisfy all reasonable national security concerns.”

During the most recent Beijing Olympics, when the U.S. was considering a diplomatic boycott, Anna Massoglia, an investigative researcher, revealed that the CCP “hired a firm to recruit social media influencers in a new digital propaganda campaign targeting the U.S. amid controversy over diplomatic boycotts of the 2022 Beijing Olympics & censorship of Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai’s disappearance.” In other words, a foreign government, one that is largely regarded as our greatest rival, hired influencers to spread its propaganda.

That manipulation by the CCP was overt, but its influence is generally more subtle than that. Because of the way TikTok is set up here in the U.S., influencers are rewarded for creating the dumbest, shallowest, and most sordid videos. It’s all part of the plan. The CCP wants to make American cultural influencers dumb, shallow, and sordid. It wants to corrupt our culture. It can do it, too, because the main users of TikTok are teens and young adults who are easily manipulated.

In China, ByteDance runs a version of TikTok called Douyin. It is night and day different from the American version. The algorithms that promote content and make videos go viral reward users for posting videos that actually benefit society. So videos of engineering, history, culture, and beauty are celebrated and promoted. Not only that, but China seriously limits the amount of time users can spend on the app. A far cry from our endless scrolling.

The U.S. should follow through with a ban. Anything less is negligence. The ban would affect 94.1 million U.S.-based TikTok users — 94.1 million Americans who are either blithely or brazenly ignoring the risks to their own safety. If the U.S. does extricate itself from this spyware, it would join countries like India and possibly cleanse the cultural contamination that TikTok has been allowed to spread.

Greenpeace: Recycling Plastics Doesn’t Work

Better late than never, the environmental activist organization comes to a welcome conclusion.

Douglas Andrews

It was around five years ago when we stopped dragging that green rectangular bin of “recyclables” down to the curb each week — and stopped paying extra for the privilege of doing so.

For years, we’d painstakingly recycled our papers, plastics, glass, and metals because we thought our behavior was, if only in some small way, good for the environment. Who knew it wasn’t?

John Tierney, for one. He knew it back in 1996. That was the year Tierney, a New York Times science reporter, wrote a landmark piece titled “Recycling Is Garbage.” Lucky for all of us that he did so then, because today’s New York Times wouldn’t dare commission such a contrarian piece. As Tierney wrote then:

Believing that there was no more room in landfills, Americans concluded that recycling was their only option. Their intentions were good and their conclusions seemed plausible. Recycling does sometimes makes sense — for some materials in some places at some times. But the simplest and cheapest option is usually to bury garbage in an environmentally safe landfill. And since there’s no shortage of landfill space … there’s no reason to make recycling a legal or moral imperative.

Tierney spent three decades with the Times, but these days he works for a far more reputable organization, City Journal, where he’s a contributing editor. Recently he revisited the topic of recycling, specifically the better-late-than-never realization of a hard-left environmental activist group that recycling of plastics doesn’t make sense. He writes:

This has been obvious for decades to anyone who crunched the numbers, but the fantasy of recycling plastic proved irresistible to generations of environmentalists and politicians. They preached it to children, mandated it for adults, and bludgeoned municipalities and virtue-signaling corporations into wasting vast sums — probably hundreds of billions of dollars worldwide — on an enterprise that has been harmful to the environment as well as to humanity.

Now Greenpeace has seen the light, or at least a glimmer of rationality. The group has issued a report accompanied by a press release headlined, “Plastic Recycling Is a Dead-End Street — Year After Year, Plastic Recycling Declines Even as Plastic Waste Increases.”

The Greenpeace report goes on to list why plastic recycling has been such a miserable failure:

  • Plastics are extremely difficult to collect
  • They’re virtually impossible to sort
  • They’re environmentally harmful to reprocess
  • They’re often made of and contaminated by toxic materials
  • They’re not economical to recycle

So recycling plastics is inefficient, environmentally harmful, and costly — and by “costly,” we mean that recycling a ton of plastic in New York City costs at least six times more than sending it to a landfill. But other than that, it’s a swell idea.

“Greenpeace could have added a sixth reason,” writes Tierney. “Forcing people to sort and rinse their plastic garbage is a waste of everyone’s time. But then, making life more pleasant for humans has never been high on the green agenda.”

Still, the coming-around of Greenpeace is good news, no? Well, yes and no. That such an influential environmental organization has been mugged by recycling reality is indeed a welcome development, but Greenpeace still has a long way to go. As Tierney notes, “The group’s overall policy remains delusional — the report proposes a far more harmful alternative to recycling — but it’s nonetheless encouraging to see environmentalists put aside their obsessions long enough to contemplate reality.”

Being on the Left means never having to say you’re sorry, and, true to form, Greenpeace is making no apologies for having helped impose such an onerous practice on the citizenry for all these many years. The group’s new strategy, as Tierney reports, is even worse: “It proposes finally to ‘end the age of plastic’ by ‘phasing out single-use plastics’ through a ‘Global Plastics Treaty.’”

This scheme sounds like it ought to be part of The Great Reset, and perhaps it will be. But it won’t end well. We know this because a smaller-scale plastic phase-out has proven harmful to both people and the environment: the ban on single-use plastic bags. Consider:

Banning single-use plastic grocery bags has added carbon to the atmosphere by forcing shoppers to use heavier paper bags and tote bags that require much more energy to manufacture and transport. The paper and cotton bags also take up more space in landfills and produce more greenhouse emissions as they decompose. The tote bags aren’t reused nearly often enough to offset their initial carbon footprint, and they’re breeding grounds for bacteria and viruses because they’re rarely washed properly. Researchers have repeatedly found these bags to be responsible for gastrointestinal infections, but the warnings got little attention until the Covid pandemic suddenly revived respect for disposable products.

Clearly, certain types of recycling are still very much worthwhile. Aluminum, for example, has considerable mining and deforestation and manufacturing costs, and so it makes good sense both environmentally and economically to recycle it.

Ultimately, though, it seems to us that the recycling question comes back to what the great Thomas Sowell has called the conservative premise: “Man is flawed from Day One,” he said, “and there are no solutions, only trade-offs. And whatever you do to deal with one of man’s flaws, it creates another problem. But you try to get the best trade-off you can get, and that’s all you can hope for.”

Where plastics are concerned, though, the consensus seems clear: To the landfill it goes.

Observations

“Without censorship, the Democratic Party cannot continue to hold power. Democrats understand that. They have nothing to offer. They have to stop you from asking questions, so they have to crush Elon Musk, not because he is a right-winger, but because he will allow their opponents to speak. And of course, they are using the attack on poor Paul Pelosi to do just that.” —Tucker Carlson

“By simply claiming victimhood, the Left leveraged social media into restricting the flow of information. This is why Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter presents such a threat. Musk will presumably again allow a thousand flowers to bloom. And the oligopoly can’t handle that, which is why they have declared all-out war on Musk. But it won’t work. Because all he has to do is say no. Rand Paul says U.S. botched covid. He could soon lead probes of it.

Article Image
 • https://www.msn.com, Dan Diamond, Rachel Roubein

The Kentucky senator, who has clashed with Anthony S. Fauci and other health officials throughout the pandemic, is in line to lead a Senate committee should he win reelection and Republicans retake the chamber next week. (While Paul is heavily favored in his own race, control of the Senate is viewed as a toss-up by pollsters.) GOP control would give the libertarian doctor — an outspoken critic of the government’s coronavirus policies — the power to lead investigations and help set legislative priorities next year, either as chairman of the Senate’s sweeping health committee or its more targeted government oversight panel.

“If you help me win, I promise to subpoena every last document of Dr. Fauci’s unprecedented coverup,” said a Paul fundraising email sent Oct. 20, referring to Paul’s allegations that Fauci contributed to the virus’s creation by funding research in Wuhan, China — allegations Fauci has categorically denied.

An ophthalmologist by training, Paul is set to be the most senior Republican on the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, better known as HELP, which oversees the nation’s health and education agencies as part of its expansive portfolio. The possibility has rattled health-care leaders and trade groups, worried that Paul will follow through on his criticism of “Big Pharma, the medical establishment and public health officials” for their stances on covid. Paul has argued that those groups wrongly quashed disagreements about how to fight the pandemic. In 2021, for instance, he called for more research into treatments such as ivermectin, noting that it was already in clinical trials to test its effectiveness against a number of viruses, including SARS-CoV-2. The drug was subsequently shown to be ineffective against the coronavirus.

Biden warned that his ‘reckless rhetoric’ is inciting ‘violence’ | WND

Joe Biden is being warned about his “reckless rhetoric” that is inciting violence.

He took to his podium again this week and unleashed a rant on the Democrats’ main talking point leading up to the 2022 midterm elections: that voting against them is a vote for the destruction of democracy.

It’s been echoed back and forth by many Democrats in recent weeks and months, including, notable, Hillary Clinton.

But constitutional expert Jonathan Turley is warning it’s an unwise strategy.

“Democrats and the J6 Committee are pursuing those who engaged in similar inflammatory rhetoric leading up to the January 6th riot. The airways are also now filled with Democrats warning from leaders like Hillary Clinton [] that the midterm elections are ‘about to be stolen.’ Likewise, many are campaigning to ban books by figures like Justice Barrett in the name of protecting free speech,” he wrote.

“It is all perfectly Orwellian, but it is not particularly effective. With the over-the-top rhetoric and open bias in the media, the public is tuning out many in the press (which is at record lows in trust). This is becoming a type of primal scream session among friends, cathartic but confined,” he continued.

“President Biden was widely criticized for his Philadelphia speech, but he and others are now doubling down on this type of reckless rhetoric. The likely effect will be to incite further violence and to give license to the most unhinged in our society.”

He noted, “Last night, President Joe Biden returned to his earlier claim that his political opponents are fascists seeking to establish authoritarianism in the United States. While the hellish red background is gone from his controversial Philadelphia address, the message remains: a vote for the GOP is a vote for tyranny. Despite polls showing citizens view the President as inciting political unrest and potential violence with such attacks, the theme was quickly picked up and magnified in the media. Presidential historian Michael Beschloss actually suggested on MSNBC that we could be just days away from an authoritarian hellscape if the GOP prevails in midterm elections — raising the specter of our children being taken away and killed.”

Beschloss, in fact, threatened, “[S]ix nights from now, we could all be discussing violence all over this country. There’s signs that may happen, may God forbid, that losers will be declared winners by fraudulent election officers, or secretary of state candidates, or governors, or state legislatures… We could be six days away from losing our rule of law, and losing a situation where we have elections that we all can rely on. You know, those are the foundation stones of a democracy… Joe Biden is saying the same thing tonight, and a historian 50 years from now – if historians are allowed to write in this country and if they are still free publishing houses and a free press – which I’m not certain of – but if that is true, a historian will say what was at stake tonight and this week was the fact whether we will be a democracy in the future, whether our children will be arrested and conceivably killed.”

Turley warned that, according to Democrats, “The choice is now voting Democratic or lining up your children in front of a firing squad. (Strangely, it will only be our children and not adults targeted by the roaming GOP goon squads). However, it will all be ‘off-the-books.’ After all, Beschloss warned Hayes, ‘we both write history, you and I’ and he is not certain that ‘historians [will be] allowed to write in this country’ if Republicans gain a majority in Congress.”

Also alarmed was Fox News host Jesse Watters, who tried to counsel Biden that the election won’t really be subject to questioning, since it’ll be a “blowout.”

The Daily Caller News Foundation reported he said, “That was the president of the United States confessing he is about to get wiped out a week from now. No one is going to question the results of this election Mr. President, because it’s going to be a blowout. It’s not even going to be close.”

Biden claimed Republican candidates won’t accept the election results if they lose, charging that, “Democracy is on the ballot for all of us. We know that more and more ballots are cast in early voting or by mail in America. We know that many states don’t start counting those ballots till after the polls close on Nov. 8th. That means in some cases we won’t know the winner of the election for a few days after the election.”

Previously Biden bashed Donald Trump supporters as “a threat to democracy” on Sept. 1, when in an ominous red-light-flooded speech in Philadelphia he made the wild claims.

Kayleigh McEnany, former White House press secretary, explained, “The reason this speech happened, Jesse, the sole reason in my view, is this administration saw the Wall Street Journal poll today. Suburban white women swinging back to the Republican Party to the tune of 27% is the swing. The number two issue they cited was threat to democracy. So they leaned into that. They said democracy over and over and over.”

The Daily Mail reported with the headline, quoting Sen. Tom Cotton, “Biden thinks Democracy is Democrats in power.”

“As Democrats become more and more threatened with a red wave, GOP lawmakers say that Biden has further shifted his focus to attacking the opposing Party and former President Donald Trump as a deflection for the flailing economy and his inability to defend his own record,” the report explained.

Biden blamed Trump for “the recent attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul,” and “again levied blame on Trump’s supporters for rising instances of political violence – a frequently-criticized line from his Philadelphia speech in September, which was also labeled as ‘divisive’,” the report said.

“‘To Biden, ‘democracy’ means one thing: Democrats having complete power,’ Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton tweeted.”

Voters this election say their top priority is the economy, which has been decimated by Biden’s policies and has given the public exploding inflation, high interest rates and unstable markets. Gasoline prices under Biden have surged to as high as $7 a gallon in some cities.

Biden claimed the problems all are attributable to President Trump, charging his claims the 2020 election was stolen were disproven, with, “There’s no election in our history that we can be more certain of its results.”

In fact, there were at least two influences on the 2020 results that analysts, studies and polls confirm almost undoubtedly changed the winner from Trump to Biden.

Those were Mark Zuckerberg’s decision to hand out some $400 million to foundations to give to local election officials who often used that money to recruit voters from Democrat districts. That money was outside the ordinary system that regulates election spending.

Further, the FBI lobbied Big Tech just days before the election to suppress accurate but very damaging information about the Biden family’s international business operations and keep the public in the dark on those scandals.

In response, House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy said, “President Biden is trying to divide and deflect at a time when America needs to unite—because he can’t talk about his policies that have driven up the cost of living. The American people aren’t buying it.”

“Desperate and dishonest. Joe Biden promised unity but has instead demonized and smeared Americans, while making life more expensive for all. While Republicans remain focused on the issues that matter most to voters, Biden and Democrats are flailing in the final days because they have lost touch with the concerns of families struggling to get by,” charged Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

Biden Says It May Take Days For Democrat Votes To Be Double-Counted — Babylon Bee

WASHINGTON, DC — As the date of next week’s midterm elections approaches, President Joe Biden used his Wednesday night address to warn everyone that the results may not immediately be known because it may take several days for enough Democrat votes to be harvested and double-counted.

“Despite the fact that third-world countries around the globe are capable of tallying their votes on the same day as their elections, it’s simply not realistic to expect that from the world’s most technologically advanced nation,” Biden shouted with an unnecessary amount of anger to the assembled crowd made up entirely of White House staffers and the media. “Folks, we’ve got to take our time, find out how far behind we are, and wait for the unmarked vans carrying bags full of ballots to arrive in the middle of the night. Then we gotta find out how many times we have to count each ballot. Tomato soup.”

As First Lady Jill Biden and Secret Service agents quickly grabbed the President and pulled him away from the podium, White House spokesperson Holly Caust provided the media with a backtracking statement. “What the President was actually trying to say is that we will make sure our democratic process plays out in its entirety without anyone’s right to vote being suppressed. There’s simply no time limit on counting votes, even if various state laws clearly state otherwise.”

At publishing time, Democrat operatives across the country were continuing to stock up on snacks and making sure the voting machines at polling stations were successfully connected to the internet in preparation for next week’s marathon vote-manufacturing sessions.

As Liberals Call For A ‘Pandemic Amnesty’, We Call For Nuremberg-Style Trials To Bring To Justice The People Responsible For This Global Deception — Now The End Begins

Let’s declare a pandemic amnesty, we need to forgive one another for what we did and said when we were in the dark about COVID. Oh, really?

As time goes on, today is Day 962 of 15 Days To Flatten The Curve, it is coming to light that we as a global people were lied to, deceived, tricked and fooled to such a degree as to beggar imagination. Masks did nothing to slow the spread of the virus, social distancing did nothing to slow the spread of the virus, and lockdowns did nothing but increase mental illness, create poverty, stupefy our children, and destroy the economy. Yet it was demanded of us to ‘trust the science’. Now as these things become common knowledge to the average person, (NTEB readers were highly informed of all these things as they happened, we were not fooled for a second), the radical Left is calling for a ‘pandemic amnesty’. Can’t we all just get along? No, we cannot, and will not. TO THE FIGHT!!

“Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.” Isaiah 47:3 (KJB)

Instead of calling for a pandemic amnesty, we call for the type of international court trial they held at Nuremberg after WWII to bring to lights the deeds of the Nazis, that’s what we need. The operation that pulled off the COVID pandemic was diabolical on every level, they knew what they were doing was unscientific nonsense and they did it anyway. For example, their demand to stand 6-feet apart from other people in the front, back and side, they used 666 in their marketing, was not based on any scientific experiment proven in a lab, but on the musings of German scientist Carl Flügge in the 1800’s who said it looks like sneeze droplets travel ‘about 6-feet’. Oh really? So how come the National Library of Medicine said in 2020 that your average sneeze goes at least 25 feet? At the 6-foot mark, you are in the epicenter of a sneeze spue, not safely outside of it. Why did they lie? That’s what the coming Pandemic Tribunal will be for. As you ponder that, Pfizer-BioNTech said today they will test a combined coronavirus and influenza mRNA vaccine, so obviously they are not through with us yet.

Moving on is crucial now, because the pandemic created many problems that we still need to solve.

FROM THE ATLANTIC: The people who got it right, for whatever reason, may want to gloat. Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts. All of this gloating and defensiveness continues to gobble up a lot of social energy and to drive the culture wars, especially on the internet.

These discussions are heated, unpleasant and, ultimately, unproductive. In the face of so much uncertainty, getting something right had a hefty element of luck. And, similarly, getting something wrong wasn’t a moral failing. Treating pandemic choices as a scorecard on which some people racked up more points than others is preventing us from moving forward.

We have to put these fights aside and declare a pandemic amnesty. We can leave out the willful purveyors of actual misinformation while forgiving the hard calls that people had no choice but to make with imperfect knowledge. Los Angeles County closed its beaches in summer 2020. Ex post facto, this makes no more sense than my family’s masked hiking trips. But we need to learn from our mistakes and then let them go.

We need to forgive the attacks, too. Because I thought schools should reopen and argued that kids as a group were not at high risk, I was called a “teacher killer” and a “génocidaire.” It wasn’t pleasant, but feelings were high. And I certainly don’t need to dissect and rehash that time for the rest of my days.

Moving on is crucial now, because the pandemic created many problems that we still need to solve. READ MORE

China’s President Xi Personally Oversaw Biden’s CEFC Deal | Christian Research Network

“CEFC was China’s largest energy company. It served as the so-called private sector arm of Xi’s One Belt One Road Initiative. It’s part of Xi’s effort to control the world through economics. Hunter, Joe, and Joe’s brother Jim were to become frontmen for the Belt and Road Initiative.”

(Mary Dowling – Independent Sentinel) Garrett Ziegler is a former Trump staffer with a small non-profit research firm, Marco Polo USA dot org. He and his team spent 13 months investigating Hunter Biden’s laptop, concluding with a 630-page report. It has over 2,000 citations and 459 crimes committed by the Biden family and their business associates.

THE BIDENS’ DEALS WITH XI

Ziegler says in his recorded introduction:

In this laptop, here, we not only have foreign collusion, but we have money laundering, sex crimes between Hunter Biden and multiple women (including his under-aged niece), and what we want to do is something that every single mainstream outlet is not going to do. And they’re not going to do it, and they’ve had the chance now for almost a year because a lot of them have had it since October.

What we want to do is for the historical record, so in 500 years, when people read about America they know that Joe Biden, who was the Manchurian candidate and who became the installed Manchurian president, exactly how he is compromised. And his son Hunter is one of the most corrupt, disgusting members of any American First Family in the history of the country. View article →

Washington Post column calls for Biden, Harris to drop out of 2024 race: ‘Unfitness has been demonstrated’ | Christian Research Network

(David Rutz – Fox News) Washington Post columnist George Will called on both President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to not seek the White House in 2024 in a scathing piece Wednesday, calling them unfit for office.

Will, a conservative known for his staunch opposition to Donald Trump, was unsparing, writing that Biden is not just past his prime, but “even adequacy is in his past.” Of Harris, he wrote her “style betrays a self-satisfied exaggeration of her aptitudes. Lacking natural talent, she needs to prepare, but evidently doesn’t.” Will voted for Biden in 2020, the first time he had ever supported a Democrat, but he wants a new candidate.

“In 2024, the Republican Party might present the nation with a presidential nominee whose unfitness has been demonstrated,” Will wrote. “After next Tuesday’s sobering election results, Democrats should resolve not to insult and imperil the nation by doing likewise.” View article →

The Left Were the Mad Scientists—We Were Their Lab Rats | Christian Research Network

“Rarely have voters turned over their country to radicals, socialists, and nihilists. We did in 2020. And once the Left took the presidency, the House, and Senate, they tried a deadly experiment on us the American people, their veritable lab rats. It failed — and has now nearly destroyed us along with the country.”

(Victor Davis Hanson – American Greatness) As the midterms approach, one way of looking at America’s current disaster is that we, the American people, were lab rats. And since 2021, the Left were the mad scientists, eager to try out their crackpot leftist experiments on us.

The result is that the housing market is tottering on the verge of collapse.

As interest rates soar, our $31 trillion national debt crowds out everything else in the budget.

Inflation roars at a rate of 8-9 percent per annum, higher than at any time in 40 years. Yet the prices of the stuff of life – food, fuel, shelter, energy — are far steeper still than the official rate.

No one is safe from thugs anymore — whether a commuter on a New York subway or the Pelosis in Pacific Heights. View article →
